- 0:00It is easy to see the failings of others while overlooking the
- 0:06issues within oneself. Jesus in his famous, Sermon on
- 0:11the Mount recounted in the New Testament of the Bible exhorted.
- 0:16His followers to not judge others, but to look within and
- 0:20noted quote, and why beholdest thou?
- 0:23The mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest
- 0:27not the beam that is in. and I own, I and quote, for the
- 0:34spiritual practitioner, there is a recognition that changing
- 0:38human nature takes place within oneself, not by controlling, or
- 0:43overpowering others, but by effectuating, change in the
- 0:48thoughts, emotions feelings, actions and responses one has
- 0:53two energies and events and relations that impact one's own
- 0:58life. This is a constant ongoing
- 1:01matter of review and change as there are numerous aspects to
- 1:06the being and they do not all agree with one another and
- 1:10sometimes vary from moment to moment themselves.
- 1:14Plus a constant observation and vigilance is required.
- 1:20The more one does this inner review and the more one
- 1:23recognizes the issues that lie within oneself, the less apt one
- 1:28is to judge others harshly or condemn others for their
- 1:32actions. The mother writes quote one can
- 1:37see when one studies oneself, very attentively, for example,
- 1:42if You observe yourself, you see that one day you are very
- 1:46generous, generous in your feelings.
- 1:49Generous in your Sensations, generous in your thoughts.
- 1:52And even in material things that is, you understand the faults of
- 1:57others, their intentions weaknesses, even nasty
- 2:01movements. You see all this And you are
- 2:04full of good feelings of generosity.
- 2:08You tell yourself. Well everyone does the best.
- 2:11He can like that another day or perhaps the.
- 2:16Very next minute, you will notice in yourself a kind of
- 2:20dryness fixity. Something that is bitter.
- 2:24The judges severely that goes as far as bearing, a grudge has
- 2:29rank or would like the evildoer punished that almost has
- 2:34feelings of Vengeance, just a very opposite of the former One
- 2:40day, someone harms you and you say doesn't matter.
- 2:44He did not know or he couldn't do otherwise or that's his
- 2:48nature. Or he could not understand the
- 2:52next day or perhaps an hour later.
- 2:55You say, he must be punished, he must pay for it.
- 2:59He must be made to feel that he has done wrong with a kind of
- 3:03Rage. And you want to take things you
- 3:06want to keep them for yourself, who have all the feelings of
- 3:10jealousy Envy narrowness. You see, just a very opposite of
- 3:16the other feeling And quote, reference SRI aurobindo, and the
