- 2:44I will say something and I I've been very frustrated over the
- 2:47last couple of days. It's been on the very busy
- 2:49weekend for me. The heat is gone from cool to
- 2:54hot and humid. At night it's nice and cool,
- 2:57it's windy, it's beautiful and the next day it's humid.
- 3:00It's disgusting, it's sticky. I hate this.
- 3:03When is fall coming? When the football season starts,
- 3:07that's when it usually means fall is around the corner and
- 3:09the winter is around the corner. When is the football season
- 3:13going to start? I am so tired of the summer.
- 3:16But you know, anyways, I don't want to get too deep into it.
- 3:19You see, I'm like lisping because I can't stand the summer
- 3:23anyway. Stop it.
- 3:24How is Nebraska? I mean, I haven't been to
- 3:26Nebraska. I haven't never been to
- 3:28Nebraska. How is it over there at Omaha?
- 3:31Omaha. I mean, you don't live there,
- 3:32but but you know, you know what I'm saying, You hang out over
- 3:35there. It's the same really.
- 3:36It's like you never know. One day it could be 90, the next
- 3:39day it could be snowing. It's that's it's kind of the way
- 3:42it is here if you it. Snows in the summer over there.
- 3:45Dude, you'd never know when it's going to snow here.
- 3:47I mean, we'll get a snowstorm in probably April.
- 3:50That's usually kind of I would in storm is not storm like
- 3:54normal, but you know, we'll get a couple inches, but it's all
- 3:57over the place here. I mean, we're supposed to be in
- 3:58the mid 90s by the end of the week.
- 4:00Tomorrow it's supposed to be 78. So yeah, it's just it's all over
- 4:03the place. But it's Nebraska.
- 4:05They say wait 5 minutes and the weather will change.
- 4:07I mean, we literally just had two huge storms that ripped off
- 4:11roofs and we had 91 mile an hour per winds.
- 4:14Was it a hurricane or tornado? What was?
- 4:16It we don't we don't get hurricanes, obviously there's no
- 4:18we're we're landlocked around here in the middle of the
- 4:20country. I got.
- 4:20It you're right, that was like Kansas City.
- 4:23So yeah, tornado sirens went off, but there were no
- 4:26tornadoes. But it was anywhere from 60 to
- 4:2891 miles an hour and trees down everywhere and ripped, I mean,
- 4:33roofs off and everything. So.
- 4:35And then it was then it was perfectly fine.
- 4:37And, you know, nice sun was out. Shirts off.
- 4:39You're running. You're getting your workout in,
- 4:41Shirts off. Who you?
- 4:42Oh yeah. Press Are you trying to impress?
- 4:44No, I'm trying to even out my tan line.
- 4:46Terrible. I got it.
- 4:48I figured that's what you were doing.
- 4:49You weren't trying to impress your future wife.
- 4:51Why would you do that? Your Jabba Chamberlain you don't
- 4:53need. To they it was it was funny.
- 4:56We went and Carter and I played catch and, you know, it's
- 4:59already hot enough and he wants to go play catch on the football
- 5:02field. And I'm like, can we go play on
- 5:03grass and not turf? Like, what are we?
- 5:05What are we doing here? Like.
- 5:07Isn't Carter going back to school?
- 5:10In yeah, yeah, he just got back they won the NBC World Series
- 5:14last week well yeah, a week and a half ago and then back we got
- 5:18his house already got his house everything done so now we're
- 5:22going to move him back here and I'm a good.
- 5:27So you're moving him back here? From no moving him back to
- 5:30college. OK, yeah, he he came home after
- 5:32he was in hutch. I got it.
- 5:34Yep. At college and then moving back
- 5:37there and get all the, all the odds and ends and stuff that he
- 5:40needs. So yeah, the it's going by
- 5:43faster and faster, man. It's he ain't getting younger.
- 5:46Is he moving into the portal? Is there any conversation when
- 5:49it comes to going? Junior college.
- 5:51Junior college is different right then per SE like a four
- 5:56year university, whether it's NAIA division 231 like so it
- 6:01just depends. Like junior college technically
- 6:03now nowadays with the way things have changed really doesn't go
- 6:06against your eligibility wise. Oh really?
- 6:09So yeah, so technically he'll have he'll still have 4 full
- 6:12years. Yeah, I'm learning all this
- 6:16stuff too, does. He want to do that?
- 6:17Does he want to go play D1? Is he planning to play D1
- 6:20baseball? I think we'll just kind of see
- 6:22what happens. He went junior college just to
- 6:24figure out if he wanted to play a position or if he wanted to
- 6:27just pitch. And, you know, we talked about
- 6:29it, you know, throughout his whole, you know, recruiting
- 6:32process that it's going to be hard to do both, man.
- 6:34It's it's it's really, really hard to do.
- 6:37And, you know, we were talking about a playing catch the other
- 6:39day and, you know, and I was just like, do you miss hitting?
- 6:42And he's like, yeah, but he goes, it was already hard enough
- 6:45to do, you know, both being healthy, like what, you know,
- 6:49get hurt, how's that rehab and, and all the other stuff.
- 6:52So it was it was a great choice for him.
- 6:54He's got great teammates. You know, he's their their
- 6:57school as a whole is really, really good.
- 6:59They won the national championship in football and
- 7:01basketball is good. Their soccer team is good.
- 7:04So it's a really cool, yeah, really, really good junior
- 7:07college. And so, yeah, they like I said,
- 7:10they won the NBC World Series this this summer.
- 7:14So yeah, he's he's had a good summer and back and playing
- 7:17golf. And so, yeah, so I don't.
- 7:19I was going to go back and six. Foot 5, right 65.
- 7:22Just short of it, Yep. Long and ready to drive drive it
- 7:26in Speedy drive it in. As we always say you like to
- 7:29drive the golf balls and drive the nice long iron.
- 7:32But yeah, I I wish him nothing but the best.
- 7:35I hope everything. Works out.
- 7:37For him and hopefully he can go play D1 baseball like his daddy
- 7:40did and, and work in and work his way up from obviously single
- 7:45A to AA to AAA. And, and a lot of these young,
- 7:48these young kids, we've seen this over and over and over
- 7:50again, especially here in Long Island.
- 7:52They decide to not play college ball.
- 7:54They just want to jump right into the majors and go play
- 7:57single a baseball. So it's interesting when you see
- 8:00some of these kids in, in the development development of these
- 8:03kids. I've seen Garrett Cole, he
- 8:04decided he gets drafted by the Yankees.
- 8:06He was a first round draft pick and he said, he said that I, I
- 8:09want to go play college ball. I want to play for UC LA and he
- 8:12decided to obviously waive his eligibility to go and play
- 8:17college ball. And then he goes back into the
- 8:19draft a couple years later and gets he's the first round, he's
- 8:22the number one pick in the first round and he goes to Pittsburgh
- 8:25and now look, he's playing for the New York Yankees.
- 8:27Obviously he's been out for the season and he was a Brian
- 8:30Cashman guy. So we'll see.
- 8:32I'm interested to see where your son goes and and where he
- 8:34believes he is going to be as a baseball player moving forward.
- 8:37He is young. He's 6 foot 5.
- 8:39He's he's built like it Ox, like you say, and he's better looking
- 8:43than you, so that's a good sign. Oh, that's that's a fact for
- 8:45sure. Aaron Boone ejected again.
- 8:50Yanks keep losing despite Judge return as a DH The Yankees
- 8:55manager Aaron Boone was ejected for the fifth time this season
- 8:58during the third inning of of the Yankees 71 loss against the
- 9:02Astros yesterday. Boone was tossed from the game
- 9:05for arguing balls to strikes in a Ryan McMahon at bat in the
- 9:10third inning. Boone had been arguing from the
- 9:13bench about low strikes and was tossed from continue for
- 9:19continuing to harass the home plate umpire.
- 9:23Boone was caught on camera arguing about the low strike
- 9:26calls, telling home plate umpire Derek Thomas you need to fix it
- 9:32later in the game. The Yankees ace Max Free also
- 9:37was frustrated which not getting calls from Thomas during the 5th
- 9:41inning, leading to the Astros extending their lead in their
- 9:46inning which was the final inning for Freed.
- 9:49In another short outing of late, the Yankees fan, the Yankees
- 9:54fans were seen at the stadium wearing paper bags over their
- 9:58heads, many of them saying to fire Aaron Boone.
- 10:02Since the All Star break, the Yankees are 27 and 36 have the
- 10:06second worst bullpen in ER as fourth worst in ER A over all
- 10:11baseball. In that time, the Yankees only
- 10:15hold a half a game lead over the Guardians for the final American
- 10:19League Wild Card spot. How do I shoot this from the hip
- 10:25guys? I mean, I could shoot it many
- 10:27different ways. You Yankee fans out there have
- 10:30heard my thoughts to where the Yankees are and what the Yankees
- 10:33should have done at the trade downline.
- 10:35So I'm going to shoot this very nicely for all you fans to
- 10:38understand. And I'll speak English because I
- 10:40don't know how to speak Chinese or Spanish.
- 10:43Because if I could, I would because they absolutely sickened
- 10:47me. This team is not good.
- 10:50This is not a good roster. This team is built on a bunch of
- 10:54secondary players, farm system players that are not good.
- 10:59McMahon's a good player. He's not a great player.
- 11:01Giancarlo Stan should not be playing in the outfield.
- 11:04Aaron Judge right now is going to be a bona fide DH for the
- 11:08rest of the season. Dominguez stinks.
- 11:12Bellinger, Speaking of the devil, is the only one that
- 11:16actually can hit the ball right now.
- 11:19This is a bad roster and Aaron Boone, everybody wants to bloom.
- 11:28Give me a break. Aaron Boone has a lot.
- 11:31It is a lot to be blamed for with obviously what this team
- 11:36does after the game and the way they speak to the media.
- 11:39Because he should be speaking to the players and saying you
- 11:42shouldn't say anything. Let me do the speaking.
- 11:44Let me attack what we're doing on the baseball field.
- 11:48But you see, here's the problem. Aaron Boone is a puppet.
- 11:52Aaron Boone's being told by Brian Cashman and all the execs
- 11:57what to say when he's speaking to the media.
- 12:00So he looks stupid and dumb when he goes out there and says, says
- 12:05we're still a good team. We're still a good roster.
- 12:08We're still a good defensive team.
- 12:09We still have a good ball pen. We still have a good pitching
- 12:12roster. What are we watching here?
- 12:15This is not a good roster. This is not a good team, Yankee.
- 12:19Feds. Do you actually believe this is
- 12:22a good roster? Max Freed has been a shell of
- 12:25himself since the first half of the season.
- 12:28This guy was 9 and O at one point.
- 12:31Go look at his record since the second-half since the All Star
- 12:34break. Look how many runs he's given
- 12:36up. And I'm not blaming Max Freed.
- 12:39I'm blaming the fact that the Yankees didn't give the pitching
- 12:44staff enough depth when we all know Clark Schmidt was not going
- 12:48to be healthy all season. We all knew that Marcus Strowman
- 12:51couldn't cut it and we all knew that he wasn't going to be back.
- 12:56And when he did come back, it was going to take him months to
- 12:59recuperate and get back to what he was the year before.
- 13:04They have no depth and the roster.
- 13:06We have Grissom coming off the bench and giving you power.
- 13:10What does he have? 20 home runs and he's batting
- 13:12245. This is not a good roster.
- 13:18And the fact that you see Aaron Boone going out there and
- 13:22yelling at umpires, to me, it's exciting.
- 13:25It's the only exciting part of this team.
- 13:28It's the only thing that stands out as far as I'm concerned to
- 13:31what this team is. I like that he has that
- 13:35personality to go out there and stick up for his player.
- 13:38I like that he goes out there and he's kicking the dirt and
- 13:42yelling like we all remember Lou Piniella used to do.
- 13:45Sweet, sweet. What did they call him Sweet
- 13:47Lou? I mean, remember when he was
- 13:49doing what he did with Seattle when Seattle was good, when he
- 13:53was out there sticking up for Ken Griffey Junior and Randy
- 13:56Johnson and Alex Rodriguez. Do we remember Sweet Lou when he
- 14:00was doing that? I and I remember when I was in a
- 14:03live when Lou Pinalo took over for the Yankees in the 80s.
- 14:07That's what you want to see your manager do.
- 14:10Go out there and show enthusiasm.
- 14:13That's all he could do right now.
- 14:15Because honest to God, this is not a good roster.
- 14:18And the fact that the Guardians are a half a game behind the
- 14:22Yankees. The Guardians traded away
- 14:24practically half their team at the trade deadline, and they're
- 14:28still a borderline playoff team. That to me is embarrassing.
- 14:33The Yankees added two relief pitchers that on any other team
- 14:37would probably be closures. And what are they doing?
- 14:40They're giving the closing job to Devin Williams.
- 14:43Does that make any sense? Oh, I'm sorry, It's the
- 14:46analytics. It's Brian Cashman in that
- 14:49analytic committee over there. What do we call them, Lenny?
- 14:52Or what? What do you call those analytic
- 14:54guys? I mean, it's a.
- 14:55Guy, yeah, that fish, said Lenny.
- 14:57It's embarrassing, the fact that he's going out there and showing
- 15:01some personality. I don't know why any fan is
- 15:04putting a bag over the head. Here's here's what I'll I'll put
- 15:07a bag on. I'll put a bag on.
- 15:09You know what? Because to me, that's all I care
- 15:12about right now watching New York Yankees is how how I'm
- 15:15getting laid after the game. If I'm a player right now on
- 15:18this team, that's all I care about traveling from city to
- 15:22city and how many bags I'm wearing.
- 15:24Because the fact is that's all I'm getting out of this this
- 15:28season. I'm getting I'm getting the fact
- 15:30that I'm going to five star hotels, I'm eating five star
- 15:33food and I'm begging five star women.
- 15:38That's about it unless they're married.
- 15:40But I mean, it didn't stop Kobe Bryant may rest in peace.
- 15:43I'm sorry, but I'm just speaking the truth here.
- 15:47The fact is these guys are out there embarrassing their
- 15:53organization. They are they're embarrassment.
- 15:55And Aaron, Aaron Judge being in the lineup.
- 15:57What did anybody think that Aaron Judge was going to be the
- 16:00savior? Being ADH?
- 16:02Honest to God, where? Where do we see this team even
- 16:07six weeks from now? Do we see them as a playoff
- 16:09team? Because the answer would be no.
- 16:12They're not a playoff team. They're not a good team.
- 16:14They're not a good roster. They're going to fire Aaron
- 16:16Boone at the end of the season. That's not going to make a
- 16:18difference next year. They're going to probably let
- 16:22Brian Cashman step down in the offseason because he has been a
- 16:25debacle over the last 3-4 years. I think Jabba would probably say
- 16:2910. It's not good.
- 16:33This is not a good team. Yankee fans, the Mets, I know
- 16:38Mets fans are sitting here laughing.
- 16:41Mets fans should not be laughing about the.
- 16:42Game. They should not be laughing
- 16:45about the Yankees. They traded away top prospects
- 16:47with relief arms thinking that these relief arms were going to
- 16:50save them. And it hasn't.
- 16:52Because guess what? It's not the relief problem that
- 16:54they're having. It is their lineup.
- 16:57That's been a problem really since the All Star break.
- 17:01I'm just speaking the truth here. 27 and 36 with a roster
- 17:06that has over $300 million of salary cap, $300 million, and
- 17:13Yankee fans are sitting there saying that the Yankees should
- 17:16have given Soto 600 or $768 million.
- 17:20Come on, guys. That wouldn't have made a
- 17:22difference. This roster wouldn't be
- 17:24different. The logic here is what the
- 17:28Yankees did was spread out the wealth they gave a pitcher who a
- 17:33lot of people thought was going to be all around good,
- 17:36especially as the second tier guy right behind Garrett Cole.
- 17:40But Garrett Cole was not healthy and that's why the Yankees and
- 17:44Garrett Cole's team over there, his agent decided, hey, I'm
- 17:48going to opt into my contract after he wanted to opt out
- 17:51because he knew he had problems with his arm.
- 17:55The fact is this is the this is very Yankee esque.
- 17:58Luis Savarino. Remember that?
- 18:00Remember Luis Savarino? Does anybody remember that?
- 18:03Luis Savarino got a contract from the Yankees and then the
- 18:06year after, Luis Savarino automatically had a shoulder
- 18:10injury. Then he came back and then he
- 18:12had an elbow injury. Before you know it, Luis
- 18:15Savarino wasn't pitching for the Yankees for almost three
- 18:17seasons, three seasons, and the Yankees knew about it.
- 18:21But guess what? Because he was the 3rd best
- 18:23pitcher in baseball and he was up for a Cy Young.
- 18:26The Yankees said, you know what? He's our guy.
- 18:28We're going to extend them. This is a problem with the New
- 18:32York Yankees. The Yankees settle for every
- 18:35single thing they do over the last couple of years.
- 18:38If George Steinbrenner was alive right now, he would have dug
- 18:41into his pockets and said, you know what?
- 18:43I'm just going to buy my way through.
- 18:44I'm going to buy my way through. I'm going to give one.
- 18:47So do a contract. I am going to hey, Albert, pool
- 18:50Halls is available or, or Mike Trout's available.
- 18:53And Bryce Harper, I'll bring it, all of them to my team and my
- 18:56roster. Oh, Trey Turner, he's available.
- 18:59I'm giving him a $400 million contract.
- 19:01That's what George Steinbrenner did.
- 19:03And the last time the Yankees actually dug into their pockets
- 19:07was in 2008. Do we remember when they gave CC
- 19:11Sabathia, Mark Teixeira and AJ Burnett the money?
- 19:15And why did they do that? Because the Yankees were moving
- 19:17into a new stadium, and Hal and Hank wanted their father to see
- 19:21one last championship before he passed.
- 19:24That's the facts. I know nobody's going to believe
- 19:27it. And I don't have an inside
- 19:28source. I'm just telling you what I saw
- 19:30it to be. The Yankees haven't won since
- 19:332009. When did the Boss die?
- 19:36When did he die? Was it 2011?
- 19:39Was it 2012? When did the Boss die?
- 19:42I don't know The I don't know the year.
- 19:44Somebody looked that up. I have, I have producers all
- 19:47over the world and nobody knows Speedy, when did he die?
- 19:51It was 2010. Aaron Diaz says 2010 so.
- 19:54So he died. So he died a year after.
- 19:57So the Yankees. It was during the All Star
- 19:59break. So the Yankees spent the money,
- 20:02and Hal and Hank spent the money to make sure that their father
- 20:06saw another championship. And guess what?
- 20:08Since their father's death, how many championships have they
- 20:11won? How many World Series
- 20:14appearances that they have they made?
- 20:17Zero and one. That's what the Yankees stand
- 20:20for. Do you know what that stands
- 20:22for? Losers.
- 20:24That's what the Yankees are. I don't care what their wins
- 20:27are. I don't care that the Yankees
- 20:29are the have the winningest record and they're going on
- 20:32what, 35 years, 35 seasons with winning records and they're
- 20:36going to die. They're going to die like that
- 20:38Brian Cashman, even if he steps down, I think the Yankees could
- 20:41go another 30 years with a winning record.
- 20:43It's not going to matter because Yankee fans and the Yankees
- 20:47organization are based on one thing, and that's winning.
- 20:50And the Yankees haven't won for 15 seasons, the longest drought
- 20:56in Yankees history. This isn't the Mets.
- 20:59This isn't the Mets where it takes them 40 years to win a
- 21:02title. And the Yankee fans are fighting
- 21:05Met fans all over social media arguing who's better.
- 21:08Who cares? The Yankees have won 27 World
- 21:12Series. Do we remember when Joe Girardi
- 21:15was wearing #28 after 2009? Because he was so sure he was
- 21:21going to bring back and bring home #28 guess what?
- 21:25It's been 15-16 years and the Yankees still haven't brought
- 21:29home #28 and it might be another 10 before they do that.
- 21:33Because this organization has a bunch of lazy asses, lazy guys,
- 21:39lazy people running this organization.
- 21:42And I'm going to, I'm not going to mention names.
- 21:43You know who I'm talking about. And I'm not going to hurt myself
- 21:47on working with the New York Yankees organization, so I'm not
- 21:50going to mention names, but you know who you are, Yankee fans.
- 21:53You know who they are. Every single Yankee fan looking
- 21:56at me right now. Don't lie and don't be deceitful
- 22:00about what your team is all about.
- 22:02The fact is this organization is poorly run.
- 22:06It's poorly been run over the last 16 years.
- 22:09I'll keep the quick ones. We have our guest.
- 22:11This is the most like leadership questions that they've had too.
- 22:14Obviously, Aaron judges a captain.
- 22:15I'm not taking shots at him. And I agree with you about boom.
- 22:17Like I think he gets a little too much Flack.
- 22:18But like 2023, two years ago, everyone was doing the media
- 22:22circus with Josh Donaldson and Stanton, like should he play the
- 22:25outfield? Should he not?
- 22:26And stuff like that. That was infiltrating.
- 22:29And that was the last year the Yankees missed the playoffs.
- 22:31He's a little winning record, but they were never really
- 22:32competitive that year. They last year they missed the
- 22:34playoffs before that was 2016. And that was a year that no,
- 22:37they weren't supposed to do well anyway and that the rest of that
- 22:39division was good. So it did need to get the
- 22:42outside source, whether it's one of the players, whether it's a
- 22:45different coach other than Aaron Boone to rally this team.
- 22:47Take it is all right. We lost two out of three of the
- 22:49Astros to be a good team. Now let's our winning streak
- 22:52starts now, because a lot of these younger teams, Seattle,
- 22:54the Red Sox that have way less, not way less talent, I should
- 22:57say with Seattle, but the Red Sox less talent are now rising
- 23:00because they actually have a good team culture.
- 23:03Yeah, it's there's a lot that has transpired over this time
- 23:09of, of not winning or whatever. And I've said it numerous times
- 23:14on numerous shows, on our show, on other Yankee podcasts and and
- 23:19so on. It's just it just feels like
- 23:22they're OK with getting there. There's no, like, sense of
- 23:26urgency or there's no like, OK. Yeah.
- 23:28Like, how many times have I heard?
- 23:30Well, we got to the World Series last year and, like, what?
- 23:34Yeah. So you're the first loser.
- 23:35Sweet. I'd rather go kiss my sister
- 23:38like. Do you have a sister?
- 23:39I like to kiss her. Nah, probably wouldn't.
- 23:44Nah, Nah. No, you put yourself down.
- 23:47I mean shave the beard and show people how sexy you are.
- 23:50Maybe I'll believe. That she's and she's like a foot
- 23:53shorter than me. Oh, you do have a sister.
- 23:56I do. She's four years older than me.
- 23:57Oh, OK. All right.
- 23:58Yeah. You thought I was making that
- 24:00up? No, I did I.
- 24:02Thought I listen. If you want me to kiss your
- 24:03sister, I might do that. I'm just.
- 24:05Kidding. No, I don't want to get myself
- 24:06into. Trouble here.
- 24:07No. So I just think it's they, they
- 24:12say they want to win. Are they doing the things?
- 24:14I, I think a little bit not like fully to the extent of what it
- 24:18really takes. But obviously that's just my
- 24:21opinion. I'm not in the clubhouse.
- 24:22I'm not in the front office. It's the same front office since
- 24:26literally late 90s, early 2000s. I think that whole front office
- 24:30game, the latest that they brought in the people that are
- 24:32still there is like Kevin Reese and Tom, it's in 2007.
- 24:35Everybody else has has been there.
- 24:38And so it's just I, like I said, it's, it's playing tug of war
- 24:42and it feels like they're on, you know, opposite ends and not
- 24:45on the same side. And if, if that's the way it's
- 24:48going to be and they're, they're settling and they're OK with
- 24:51just getting there, then I think that's kind of just the way it's
- 24:53going to be, right? Like we haven't seen anything
- 24:56changed drastically in, in the time frame that we've seen.
- 25:01So I don't know if it's really going to, I don't know if, if it
- 25:06takes firing, there's obviously somebody that's going to, you
- 25:08know, have to eat it at some point where you you've got to
- 25:12make a decision. Do you keep the same thing?
- 25:14Are you still OK with, you know, being settling and being like,
- 25:18oh, we got there. I just, it's crazy because it's
- 25:21kind of everybody's saying the same thing and it, and it's kind
- 25:23of the common denominator is like, yeah, yeah, we're cool
- 25:25with getting there, but are we going to make that step to
- 25:28actually like boom, like here we go.
- 25:30So we're gonna talk to the blue in the face till something
- 25:34happens. And I don't know if that's
- 25:35really gonna happen anytime soon.
- 25:37I mean, just my opinion. I have a better chance to having
- 25:39blue balls and watching my face turn blue.
- 25:41So anyways, ladies and gentlemen, we call this the Golf
- 25:45Clap of the day. This deserves a golf clap.
- 25:49No doubt. All right ladies and gentlemen,
- 25:55my golf clap of the day goes to the UFC as they secure a
- 25:59landmark deal with Paramount. Yes ladies and gentlemen, you
- 26:03get a chance to see the UFC on Paramount.
- 26:07UFC has announced a game changing broadcast partnership
- 26:11with Paramount making them the media giant the exclusive home
- 26:16of all UFC events in the US starting in 2026.
- 26:22Currently positioned on ESPN, the UF CS broadcast rights deal
- 26:26has been an ongoing discussion for much of the year.
- 26:30The new 7 year deal valued at an average and annual 1.1 billion.
- 26:36We'll see Paramount Plus stream every UFC numbered event Fight
- 26:42Night with selected cards simulcast on CBS.
- 26:47It's a great, great move for the UFC.
- 26:50Thank God they tell away from ESPN.
- 26:52As we all know, the WWE decided to take on the responsibility
- 26:58and working with the ESPNII. Just think that this is crazy.
- 27:03The same owner, the same owners and corporation that owns the
- 27:07UFC and the WWE decides to drop, yes, drop the UFC and pick up
- 27:13the WWE and then the UFC decides, hey, you know what,
- 27:16screw you, we're going to go with CBS and take $1.1 billion.
- 27:20I think it's a great move for Dana White.
- 27:22Dana White has been an absolute genius when it comes to building
- 27:27a product and putting their products, their products center
- 27:30stage with all the top combat sports, including boxing.
- 27:34I love this deal. I think it helps obviously
- 27:36Paramount build their product. What they're doing right now
- 27:39with all these different series that they're bringing.
- 27:41Mobland, I love it. I think it's great.
- 27:44I think this is great for the UFC and putting them center
- 27:47stage on CBS. I I think it's great.
- 27:49So congratulations to the UFC. And that, ladies and gentlemen,
- 27:52is my Golf Club of the day. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it
- 27:57was wonderful. It's been wonderful.
- 27:59And I love what the UFC is doing.
- 28:01And they stay the hell away from what ESPN has done.
- 28:05And I'm not taking shots at ESPN, but let's be honest, the
- 28:08ESPN has not been very smart with the products they've put
- 28:11together over the last couple of years.
- 28:13And and that's why I think ESPN decided to part ways with the
- 28:15USC because I think obviously what they have really produced
- 28:19as far as studio work and and what they're promoting on Fight
- 28:23Night has not been what they expected for a five year span.
- 28:27It's been very, very bad. And I think the UFC realizes
- 28:30that they're not going to grow on ESPN and they have a better
- 28:32chance of growing on CBS in Paramount.
- 28:34I actually couldn't stand this guy cuz every time he was on the
- 28:38football field he killed the New York Jets.
- 28:41There are guys that really stood out to me over the years.
- 28:44This man stood out from all the rest.
- 28:47Ladies and gentlemen, we are now talking to the first time on the
- 28:51job in the Mouth show, 13 year NFL linebacker.
- 28:55The one, the only Lorenzo Alexander, how are you?
- 29:03Appreciate you guys, man Appreciate it.
- 29:04I was, I was about this close for being a Jets player, though
- 29:08when I became a free agent, when Rex Ryan was there, he was on me
- 29:11heavy. But I end up going to Arizona,
- 29:13got wrecks when I got the Buffalo.
- 29:15So sorry about that, but I'm a Fact Check you real quick.
- 29:18I got 15 years, you know. No, I know Jess fans don't know
- 29:21how to count. It's all right. 15 you wouldn't
- 29:23know. Came out in 05.
- 29:24They don't count the practice squad years, which I don't
- 29:26understand. I don't want to do it.
- 29:28You know why? Because every time I remember
- 29:29you, you made me sick to my stomach.
- 29:31That's all. Every time I saw you, I'm not.
- 29:3557 no more. That's Agent Vanessa.
- 29:37You know, that's my guy. It's his number.
- 29:39Yeah, well, guess what, I don't care what number you are, 5799
- 29:43or 100, you pissed me off every time you want a goddamn football
- 29:47field, I couldn't stand you. But I get to I get a chance to
- 29:51see a little bit of what you're doing right now.
- 29:53It's pretty damn amazing. It really is off the football
- 29:57field and what you do, not only for kids and and all the
- 30:00different junctions you're doing right now, it's a pretty
- 30:03amazing. But I, I want to go into this
- 30:06past season, the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen has been one of
- 30:11those guys that have been picked on by many different people
- 30:14around the look, one of those guys, Jalen Ramsey, a guy that
- 30:18since he was drafted, took shots at him in the GQ magazine.
- 30:23And, and Josh Allen very quietly says, you know, I'll, I'll do my
- 30:26talking on the field, I'll do my playing on the field.
- 30:28There are many different defensive players over the years
- 30:31that say, oh, this guy's overrated.
- 30:33He's not good. But hey, this is a guy that has
- 30:36been the best quarterback really besides Patrick Mahomes really
- 30:40throughout the league. Your thoughts to why everybody
- 30:44hates Josh Allen in the league? I don't get it.
- 30:46Yeah, I don't know. I wouldn't say everybody hates
- 30:48him. You know, he had a little bit of
- 30:50a dark cloud when he came into the league.
- 30:51And so it may be some of that agenda kind of attached to it
- 30:55when he got drafted. I know it was one of the things
- 30:57that we even talked about internally when he was coming
- 30:59out. And then, you know, you know,
- 31:03Jalen just likes to talk too. You know, he likes to find he's
- 31:06one of those guys he has to find something to talk about.
- 31:09But obviously Josh's talent, his work ethic is spoken for itself,
- 31:13you know, and he's gotten gone out there wanting MVP and you
- 31:16knew he was special just the way he related to guys in the locker
- 31:19room, the way he worked at it. I remember him getting hurt his
- 31:21first year. I was like, dude, man, you may
- 31:22want to sit out because you're going to be in his league a long
- 31:24time. He's like, Nah, dawg, I'm I'm
- 31:26about to go out here and grind it out.
- 31:28You know, his his rookie year when he had like I think that
- 31:29elbow or something. So guys get behind that and once
- 31:33you're around him, you love him. So I've had nothing but great
- 31:37respect and really been cool to see him growing.
- 31:39I was actually back there for training camp.
- 31:41So that was cool to see his masteration process of where he
- 31:43was as a 2122 year old kid to now being a grown man, married
- 31:48and being a leader in a franchise quarterback.
- 31:50So. I want to go back to the year
- 31:51before 2017. You guys broke the playoff
- 31:54drought. That was since 1999.
- 31:57What was that season like the the end of it?
- 31:59Obviously the Ravens had to lose for you guys to get in.
- 32:01What was that whole celebration like when you guys got in?
- 32:03I mean, it was mayhem. It was great.
- 32:05Really enjoyed it. You know, obviously going to
- 32:07that year, I don't think people even thought we had an
- 32:08opportunity to go there. We had Tyrod Tyler was our
- 32:10quarterback. We had let go a lot of great
- 32:13talent, guys that hadn't quite bought in or what Sean McDermott
- 32:16was trying to build in Buffalo. And so, you know, I thought most
- 32:20people thought it was going to be an 18 year drive, but we
- 32:22found a way to kind of galvanized come together, trust
- 32:26the process and Sean always says and put ourselves in a position
- 32:29to where we had to get some help from Cincinnati.
- 32:31And it was really cool. I mean that the the locker room
- 32:34erupted. You can see Kyle Williams
- 32:36crying. He had his kids in there because
- 32:37he had been there with 12 years, I think at the time and hadn't
- 32:41been ever been to the playoffs. So it was a special moment,
- 32:44obviously for us with just the fans of Buffalo.
- 32:46I mean, Bill's mafia, nobody competes with him.
- 32:50I mean, I've been to five organizations and then have
- 32:53opportunity to travel other places.
- 32:54It's just nobody competes with their passion, love and it's in
- 32:57the stadium and away from the stadium as well as far as the
- 33:00way they support guys in the community as well.
- 33:03As a fan, you always hear about Bill's Mafia and I wanted to get
- 33:07your take because we see it as fans, but like do you guys feel
- 33:11that like their presence like on and off the field and is it is
- 33:15as crazy as it seemed in some of the pictures in the videos?
- 33:19I've never got to really partake in like a lot of the pregame
- 33:22activities, but I've had friends that come out.
- 33:24My homeboy, the first we went to the players and played
- 33:26Jacksonville actually was out there from Oakland Grove and
- 33:29Charles Ellis was out there jumping through tables and it
- 33:32just it's infectious. So once you get around you kind
- 33:34of hanging out and be like, man, this is dope.
- 33:36You know, since we're time, I've had an opportunity to try to get
- 33:39into the mix and really feel it and see what it's like to
- 33:41experience the energy and you just love it.
- 33:43And I think from an off the field perspective, you know, you
- 33:46know, you guys know that I'm really involved in the community
- 33:49and trying to put on events for kids, free stuff, fundraisers,
- 33:52so we can do programming. And Buffalo was probably the
- 33:55only place I never had to worry about getting volunteers.
- 33:58People are always signing up, trying to figure out how they
- 34:00can get involved, how they can donate.
- 34:02You can see that throughout, right when Joshua's grandmother
- 34:05passes to Mark Hamlin, the amount of money that's donated
- 34:08out when Cincinnati won. I can't think of the quarterback
- 34:11right now, but Red Hand TCU, right donated to him and his
- 34:16thing. I mean, they just very
- 34:21philanthropic in a lot of ways and just all about being great
- 34:24neighbors. So it's it's really cool to
- 34:25experience. And the cool thing is that they
- 34:28across the country, they're everywhere.
- 34:29I'm in Phoenix right now. I can go to three or four
- 34:31different Bills bars and feel like I'm back in Buffalo.
- 34:34We are talking to former 15 year NFL linebacker Lorenzo
- 34:40Alexander. You see, I added that I gave you
- 34:45a nice little royal flush. Speaking of Royal Flush, the
- 34:49another organization you played for was the Washington
- 34:53Commanders and an organization that had a rookie quarterback in
- 34:56Jamie Daniels that exploded right off the paper his rookie
- 35:00season, took his team all the way to an NFC title game and has
- 35:04an opportunity now with Dan Quinn to make even more noise
- 35:08his second year. We've seen this many, many times
- 35:11in their sophomore year, sophomore years.
- 35:14CJ Strout, he was a guy that he had a good season, but he kind
- 35:17of took a step back a little bit, needed to figure things out
- 35:20in the second-half of the season.
- 35:22What type of quarterback, when you watch as a defensive player,
- 35:26do you see on tape that Jaden Daniels is?
- 35:30I mean, he's extremely versatile, right?
- 35:31He's a young quarterback. And if you want to compare him
- 35:34with CJ Stroud, I think they both did a really good job as
- 35:36far as understanding where they wanted to get the ball to out of
- 35:39their hands pretty quickly. And that's typically what makes
- 35:43makes it easy to compete against rookie quarterbacks because they
- 35:46tend to hold on. They see ghosts and they end up
- 35:48throwing you the football and those guys in the early
- 35:50Christmas, I see what they did. I see what you did.
- 35:54I see what you did. I see what you did, smart ass.
- 35:57I see what you did, you smart ass.
- 36:00I saw. I don't know.
- 36:02I don't know what you're talking about, but what I'm saying
- 36:07though, right? And then he's also a dynamic
- 36:10runner, right? They, you know, running counter
- 36:13with him, pulling guards and he has that extra IT factor about
- 36:17him and again, being around him, being here when he played for
- 36:19ASU, getting to see him up close, you get to see the type
- 36:22of worker he is here. Coaches talk about him,
- 36:25teammates and then obviously going to win the Heisman.
- 36:27So guys really respect him. What he does.
- 36:29He goes about his work the right way.
- 36:31Now he may step back, right, Scary Terry isn't signed yet, at
- 36:35least I don't think he is. So that's going to be an issue.
- 36:38And then defenses have a whole year to kind of assess a really
- 36:42game plan towards his strengths and he's going to have to make
- 36:45the adjustments on the fly in order to to kind of repeat or
- 36:49kind of mimic what he did as a rookie.
- 36:50So I the reason why he said you were smart ass, because I'm a
- 36:54Jet fan. And in his rookie season, there
- 36:58was a quarterback that said on the football field against the
- 37:01New England Patriots that he sees ghosts.
- 37:08And I want to throw the F up because of course a Bills player
- 37:13or a Patriot player always wants to bring up the butt fumble of
- 37:17Mark Sanchez or the damn. I see ghosts out there in San
- 37:22Donald. That's why I said it.
- 37:24That's why I thought it was like, you know what?
- 37:26They see ghosts. Yeah, I I see ghosts every time
- 37:29I watch my goddamn team play football.
- 37:31I. Want to relay back to where your
- 37:33time with the Arizona Cardinals you were coached by the guy that
- 37:36became The Jets head coach later in Todd Bowles is your
- 37:38defensive. Coordinator and.
- 37:39Also, Bruce Arians, one of my favorite coaches, very fiery
- 37:41guy, always had some very interesting statements.
- 37:43What were they like as coaches in your time in Arizona with
- 37:45Carson Palmer and a future Hall first ballot Hall of Famer Larry
- 37:48Fitzgerald? Yeah, well, there's a lot in
- 37:51there. Well, BA and Todd are very
- 37:54different. BA is is very in your face, cool
- 37:58uncle type vibe, but it's going to MF you and let you know how
- 38:01he feels in the moment. If you're not playing up to the
- 38:03certain standard. Todd is more laid back chill.
- 38:07He's going to hit you over the head, but he does it so smooth.
- 38:10You like man is he hey, he hit me kind of hard.
- 38:12So they they coach different, but obviously they've been
- 38:15around each other. They they go about it very they
- 38:18the goal is the same. They just deliver it
- 38:20differently. But love both of them, very
- 38:22aggressive coaches, personal coaches that care about the
- 38:24players and they play a great style of offense and defense as
- 38:27far as the way they compete. And then Carson was awesome.
- 38:31Obviously we got him from Oakland that year.
- 38:33He was an SC guy that I competed with or against when I was at
- 38:36Cal back in the pack 10 days. And so that was just a real cool
- 38:40experience. And now get to see him, right?
- 38:42You always have these notions of who a guy is.
- 38:45SC prima Donna, you know, they were.
- 38:48I think he had won the Heisman that year too.
- 38:50So you just get a idea. And I'm his rival.
- 38:52But getting around Carson, seeing that, how he was as a
- 38:54husband, a father was really cool.
- 38:56And then you can't say enough about Larry Legend.
- 38:59Uh, again, always in the community, always doing things
- 39:02at the highest and most elite level is transition really well,
- 39:05doing some big things. His son obviously just got a
- 39:08scholarship to Notre Dame. My son is actually going to
- 39:09broker where his son goes to now, but just a really good
- 39:12friend I've had throughout the years and it's done, done
- 39:15everything first class. So just really fortunate to be
- 39:19around those type of dudes throughout my career.
- 39:21And that's really how a guy that goes undrafted finds a way of
- 39:24playing 15 years because you start getting around some dudes
- 39:27that do it the right way. And if you're smart enough, let
- 39:30me do a little bit of what he's doing, a little bit of what he's
- 39:32doing and make it my own. And so very fortunate to be
- 39:35around, you know, all four of those guys throughout my career.
- 39:38Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up because that was something I
- 39:40want to ask. My son's a sophomore in college
- 39:43and, you know, it's one of those things to, you know, have kids
- 39:46we talked about on the show and, and how that, you know,
- 39:49transgressed. And sometimes it could be a good
- 39:50thing. Sometimes it could be a bad
- 39:52going from somebody that was undirected to play in 15 years.
- 39:54What what do you think sets you apart of, you know, having the
- 39:58chip on your shoulder? Or was it just, you know, hey,
- 40:00I'm an open book. I'm a sponge.
- 40:02I need to try to because I know I'm talented enough.
- 40:04I believe in myself, but I got to show everybody else.
- 40:07And like what? What sets you apart?
- 40:08Because you easily could have been like, I'm undrafted, you
- 40:12know, whatever, I believe myself and nobody else does.
- 40:14And you could have folded and said, you know what, I'll go do
- 40:17something else. But obviously you did.
- 40:18And I got. I got.
- 40:19Close to that point though, too. I mean, I was bouncing around a
- 40:22little early in my career, got cut a couple of times.
- 40:24Then I got on to like the traveling kind of circuit where
- 40:28you flying in, doing all these workouts across the country and
- 40:32people keep telling you no. And from being a guy, that was
- 40:35the dude, right? That's a huge hit on your your
- 40:38ego, your pride. Like, man, I'm not gonna
- 40:41continue to put myself in these situations, but I had good
- 40:43people around me. So that again, my mom, my uncle,
- 40:46right, they believe more me at doing that time that I did
- 40:49myself and really encouraged me to continue to show up.
- 40:51And only reason why I got on Washington is because my man
- 40:54Alice Guerrero, who's a Pat P's business partner now, pulled his
- 40:57hamstring in the workout. That's how I got into
- 40:59Washington. And once I got that taste right,
- 41:02of having an opportunity to earn it after being cut, I, I
- 41:06shifted, I, I, I took on a different level of
- 41:10professionalism as far as how do you have to work the type of
- 41:13effort you need to have. I think a lot of my faith, once
- 41:16I got saved, I was around Sean Taylor when he passed.
- 41:18I was in Washington for that, being grounded.
- 41:21And you know, we talk about love, patience, kind joy, being
- 41:25joyful, being gentle, being having self-control, becoming a
- 41:28man in a lot of ways allowed me to then start really maximizing
- 41:32and cultivating my talent to the full ability.
- 41:35So that a guy that's, you know, as far as the NFL, when you
- 41:37think about how athletic I am, I'm probably in the middle
- 41:39somewhere, could then extend the 15 year career was really having
- 41:43an opportunity to mature. Being around guys like James
- 41:46Thrash, Ronaldo in London, Fletcher.
- 41:49Those guys really helped shape me from a mentality standpoint
- 41:53and help grounded me and help me mature as a man.
- 41:54And then I started taking off and that's what I see what a lot
- 41:57of kids are young men that fail. They have all this talent,
- 42:03right, that's cultivated like you've been in the league, like
- 42:05you, you know, 5-6, seven years. But mentally if they're still
- 42:09like 15 year old boys, you know, they got these things where they
- 42:12brought burning it on both ends and that's why things don't tend
- 42:16to pan out or they bust because they burning up the cattle
- 42:19dolphins. The CTE situation over the last
- 42:22couple of weeks and obviously you know what happened in
- 42:25Manhattan. I saw what you thought about the
- 42:28CT situation. What are your thoughts to the
- 42:31NFL in protecting the players and what do you think the NFL
- 42:34needs to do for former players to help them move forward in
- 42:37their lives? Well, obviously CT is real and I
- 42:40think you have to mitigate it, which I think the NFL has done
- 42:43in a lot of ways, being pushed by the PA to come up with all
- 42:46these health and safety protocols that have really
- 42:49gotten better. The culture has shifted because
- 42:51when I played and had a concussion, I was going back out
- 42:53in the game. I don't care what you he told me
- 42:54now guys feel OK to go tell a guy or a teammate or a teammate
- 42:59feels OK getting the guy out. So that the culture has shifted
- 43:02in that regard in terms of like, you know, my son plays football.
- 43:07I think there's ways to play a inherently dangerous game in a
- 43:11Safeway possible, whether it's from a equipment, right?
- 43:14I got it like the light helmet that I love #1 rated helmet by
- 43:18the by UVA and does some good things.
- 43:20So from a parent perspective and a player perspective, what is
- 43:22what is the best equipment out there that I can wear to help me
- 43:26mitigate some of those things to curing as well?
- 43:29There's some things there. And then coaches, right?
- 43:31How are coaches putting yourself in position to tackle safely,
- 43:38still forceful, but as safe as possible and not doing these
- 43:41stupid drills? And you don't really see that at
- 43:42the NFL level, really see at the youth level more so than
- 43:45anything else. And I think this education,
- 43:47that's why I do a lot of things on my social media and in that
- 43:50regard. And then, you know, some of the
- 43:52stuff is just is unfortunate. And I think everybody
- 43:55understands when you play like there's a potentiality that I
- 43:58can develop. CTI may even have it now, right?
- 44:00Because I've played so long. But that's not most people's
- 44:04reality. Most people play, you know,
- 44:06probably 5 to 6 years depending on where you get drafted.
- 44:09But what I found, because I have a lot of guys like Ray Brown
- 44:13played 20 years, offensive lineman, right, Daryl Green 20
- 44:16years, these dudes are still thriving, right?
- 44:18And so some of it's quite genetic, but they also are
- 44:21always, they're still engaged. I think when guys get away from
- 44:26the game and they don't stay engaged from a physical
- 44:29standpoint, how am I take care of myself?
- 44:31How am I am I continue to learn, right?
- 44:35Those things help push that stuff down the road a little
- 44:38bit. And so I think it's a holistic
- 44:40thing that we have to continue to help guys.
- 44:42And the NFL is way different because a lot of guys that
- 44:44suffer from me, you look at them like the 60s, seventies, right?
- 44:47They were smoking in the locker room, drinking in the locker
- 44:49room, right? It's a whole different shift in
- 44:51mind game now. And so we have to continue to
- 44:54support those guys and meet them where they're at with CBA
- 44:56benefits and all those stuff. And I think the league in the
- 44:59Pennsylvania and overall the cultures are going in the right
- 45:01way when we at least we're aware of it and trying to find out
- 45:04what's the best way to have our game but also be as safe as
- 45:07possible. Well, you're 1 of very few guys
- 45:10that we've interviewed that really stands behind what the
- 45:12Pennsylvania is doing and what the NFL is doing to help the
- 45:16players. So I respect you and, and, and
- 45:18your thoughts and you're very interesting and I wish we could
- 45:21keep you all along. I know you're pretty busy and
- 45:23you're doing a lot of things, so we appreciate the time as
- 45:26always. Why don't you tell tell the fans
- 45:28a little bit about what you're doing offset on the trying to
- 45:31help some of the kids and and some of the stuff that you're
- 45:33doing off the field. Well, first we'll give a shout
- 45:36out to my daughter. She's turning 17 today.
- 45:38Zoe Alexander. I'm having two birthday dinner.
- 45:41So that's that's what's keeping me busy.
- 45:42But you know, social media Loreza under score John have an
- 45:45applied pressure performance and really just trying to help shift
- 45:49the the culture and youth sports right.
- 45:51You hear about AAU basketball, people fighting at football
- 45:54games, betting on football games, kids getting concussions,
- 45:58kids cussing, don't adult fights, just a lot of stuff
- 46:02that's going on because everybody's fighting up.
- 46:05Oh, I want my kid to go to the league or I want to win these AU
- 46:07championships. And that's not what youth sports
- 46:09is about. And so just trying to give my
- 46:11perspective, you know, have been an athlete, being a dad, being a
- 46:14guy that's out here coaching now cultivating what I found to be
- 46:17the most important and that's inside out coaching.
- 46:20Joe Herman wrote a great book about it, right?
- 46:22We're trying to cultivate strong people by using the simulated
- 46:25adversity that sports creates on a day-to-day prep, day-to-day
- 46:29basis, right? And so sports reveals character,
- 46:32right? And as coaches, then it's my my
- 46:34obligation to help that young man or young lady develop into
- 46:37the best person they can be. Because we know, and this is,
- 46:41you know, a study that student athletes typically do the best,
- 46:44whether in corporate America, right at, you know, wherever
- 46:46they find themselves, they do really well because they've been
- 46:50tried truth and tested over and over and over again.
- 46:53So that's what I'm doing. That's what I'm the type of
- 46:55myself I'm putting out there. I have my podcast as well,
- 46:57Applied Pressure podcast that just trying to help people find
- 47:02like the real advocates and people out there that are doing
- 47:05it the right way. Well, we really appreciate the
- 47:08time as always and I would love to get you on the show in the
- 47:12very near future so we can kind of go the insurance and the
- 47:15outs. I would love to know your take
- 47:16of where you see the NFL and who, who do you think is going
- 47:20to challenge the Buffalo Bills in the AFC this year?
- 47:23Obviously Lamar Jackson has an opportunity but and the
- 47:26Baltimore Ravens. But we really appreciate the
- 47:28time and congratulations. Happy birthday to your daughter
- 47:31and let's get you on very, very soon so we can finish this
- 47:34interview, bud. Yeah, for sure.
- 47:36Yeah, I'll jump back on. I'll find some time and get with
- 47:38you guys. Appreciate it.
- 47:39Absolutely. Lorenzo Alexander, ladies and
- 47:41gentlemen, 15 year NFL linebacker.
- 47:45And yes, he mentioned the ghosts as Sam Darnolds ghost live again
- 47:51from another Buffalo Bills player.
- 47:53I love it. Buffalo Bills and Patriot
- 47:56players, They love to attack my New York Jets.
- 48:00It's funny you I love it. It's funny Lorenzo Lorenzo was
- 48:02mentioning a lot of there's a lot of Bills fans in Arizona.
- 48:05Remember John Fina, the ex offensive lineman for the Bills
- 48:08when he came on the show, you 2 had like a heated debate with
- 48:11Aaron Rodgers. So it's like first being trained
- 48:12over there or something like that.
- 48:14It was funny, just completely sick to my stomach.
- 48:16And I know I don't care what he says.
- 48:19I know for a fact Lorenzo mentioned the ghost thing
- 48:22because he knows they see ghost, though I don't remember anybody
- 48:26saying that but Sam Donald. So that was a shot at The Jets.
- 48:30He sat there and made it seem like it wasn't, but as soon as I
- 48:33mentioned and he smirked on his face, he knew what he was
- 48:36talking about. So that was a good interview.
- 48:38He was fantastic. He gave us a good take of CTE.
- 48:42He's one of very few players we've had on the show that has
- 48:46stuck behind what the NFLPA has done to help players.
- 48:50A lot of these ex players have taken shots at the NFL, not
- 48:53helping, not really supporting some of these players offset on
- 48:57the injuries that they had. And you you see and he's so I
- 49:01think he's so articulate on everything that he has said.
- 49:04He didn't really stutter on anything.
- 49:06You can see that he's very confident about his personality
- 49:09and where he sees the league and how the transition of the league
- 49:13could either help football in the future and help the young
- 49:16players grow or hurt football because of of people like me who
- 49:20attacked the NFL. Oh, don't I love it.
- 49:26Rodger Goodell in his private jets.
- 49:28Yes, that was another thing I didn't want to mention it but
- 49:32Lorenzo look like he stands very tall and strong about the NFL
- 49:36and and what they stand for. I give him a lot of credit
- 49:39because again, a lot of ex NFL players that have been on the
- 49:43show really don't respect what the NFL has done for them and
- 49:46stood behind some of these players after these terrible
- 49:50injuries, life changing injuries they've had after their careers
- 49:54were over. So CT is is for real, as you
- 49:57heard Lorenzo say. And he he says he might have
- 49:59CTE, but he won't know as as he gets older.
- 50:03It's all genetics and and you'll see how you know you're in,
- 50:06you're out where their bodies are going to transform or a
- 50:09change moving forward as they get older.
- 50:13So and Lorenzo's still young. He's 40 years old.
- 50:15So he's still to me, he's still a young man.
- 50:18All right. He's a middle-aged man.
- 50:21I won't say young man, but he's a middle-aged man growing and as
- 50:25a, as a now non professional athlete and a father and a guy
- 50:29that stands for something. So I I like everything that I
- 50:32heard from Lorenzo Alexander. He was a great interview and I'd
- 50:35like to thank Speedy for landing one of these Buffalo Bill
- 50:39players again. So thank you and and again,
- 50:43taking shots at the New York Jets.
- 50:44Anyways, we have a new segment. We call this Speedy's Stats of
- 50:49the Day. Speedy.
- 50:54We don't have a drop for yet. We got the stat of the week.
- 50:58Here he is. Einstein himself, Speedy can
- 51:02give it to you, whether is we're talking basketball, football,
- 51:05baseball, UFC, hockey, He's got it all.
- 51:09Speedy. We're going to stay with
- 51:11preseason week one for our interesting stat of the week.
- 51:17Go forward, Speedy. All right, so I'll go I'm going
- 51:19to actually take it a little different direction.
- 51:21It's not all NFL related, but the kick that didn't count for
- 51:24the longest field goal in NFL history, Cam Little 70 yard
- 51:27field goal. It's not in the NFL record books
- 51:30because it's a preseason. So it was 4 yards longer than
- 51:32the longest NFL kick. That was me, which is Justin
- 51:34Tucker at 66 yards. But here's the the interesting
- 51:37fact they were actually 2 not only in college football but
- 51:40also high school football that were longer than Justin Tucker.
- 51:4366 longer yard kick which is the NFL record.
- 51:47So the college football record in 1976 was an Abilene Christian
- 51:52kicker named OV Johansson. Sounds like a hockey name, but
- 51:5569 yards? OV Mohali, What are you talking
- 51:58about? That's a football name.
- 51:59I know, but the way it's spelled, it's OVE and then it's
- 52:01Johansson. Like it's felt like a hockey
- 52:03name. Like it definitely sounds like
- 52:05that. 69 Yarders in 1976. That is the college football
- 52:09record. And then there was a high school
- 52:11kicker named Dirk Borgnon who did it.
- 52:14Shout out to Reno, Johnny's hometown in Reno High School in
- 52:17Nevada in 1985. You'll get 68 yards longer than
- 52:21any other NFL kick ever made until now. 70 yards by Cam
- 52:25Little in the preseason. Interesting Cam Little breaking
- 52:29records early. Who cares preseason, do it in a
- 52:34playoff game, do it in a Super Bowl game, do it in the, I don't
- 52:39know, the AFC or NFC title game and then we could talk, shut the
- 52:41music. I'm done.
- 52:43I will say this, Justin Tucker, I'm interested to see what
- 52:46happens to his career after all the things that we've heard over
- 52:50the last year. And I'm interested I he's out
- 52:54what he was he suspended for 10 games?
- 52:55Yes. Has he been signed by anybody?
- 52:57It's interesting when he does become available.
- 53:00What? They're not going to sign them.
- 53:02They're going to stay away from like they did Josh Brown.
- 53:04He had a bad year last year, Tucker, And it doesn't matter
- 53:07how good you were if last year you weren't able to kick it.
- 53:11They don't. They don't usually just go back
- 53:13to the well because he was a veteran.
- 53:15He was like, he's going to go to Hall of Fame before this
- 53:18happened, right? If he was just on the stats,
- 53:20he's probably the best kicker ever.
- 53:22Hold on one second. Deshaun Watson gets a chance to
- 53:25play again and this guy can't because he's he doesn't have a
- 53:29contract. That's ridiculous.
- 53:30This guy was a better player at his position than Deshaun Watson
- 53:34was. And I do believe Justin Tucker
- 53:37will get another shot. I do.
- 53:39There'll be a team out there. Pittsburgh obviously couldn't
- 53:41stand Justin Tucker because you always kill them in games.
- 53:45I could see Pittsburgh doing it. Kansas City, Andy Reed, maybe
- 53:49Philadelphia. They're an organization that
- 53:51takes shots on players. They'll do it in.
- 53:54A year and a half? How about the cowboy?
- 53:55A year and a half they can't do it.
- 53:57It's toxic. That's how the NFL works.
- 53:59They all pretend like these guys are untouchable.
- 54:02A year and a half later, once enough people forgot about it
- 54:06that the the drama, if they do it will pass.
- 54:09It'll just be a blurb move on. They'll sign these guys.
- 54:12The punt God, right? The punt God from college he
- 54:16was, he got drafted. There was this whole thing.
- 54:18It turned out not to be true. It took him what, 2 years to get
- 54:21back in the league with? The Chiefs last year.
- 54:23Right took him a couple of years.
- 54:25It's going to be the same for him look and I and I don't think
- 54:28it was fake like we heard with the punt God, what's going on
- 54:31here with Tucker. It was the same thing with
- 54:33Deshaun Watson. When you hear one or two people
- 54:36maybe when it's like dozens saying the same thing.
- 54:39There's a lot of smoke where there's fire, and no one's going
- 54:41to take a chance on a guy who had the worst year of his career
- 54:44without what he. Does in his private life should
- 54:47be nobody's problem. And honestly, it didn't hurt his
- 54:52game on a football field. He's been doing it for years
- 54:54now. This year he didn't have a good
- 54:56season. We've seen a lot of kickers have
- 54:58bad seasons and then come back and they they don't miss one.
- 55:01This guy's the greatest kicker of all time.
- 55:04I'm telling you right now, there's going to be a team in 10
- 55:07games that are going to stand out there and say, you know
- 55:09what, we need a kicker for the playoffs.
- 55:11We need somebody that we know is going to be dead on.
- 55:13And I could see Washington, one of these teams, if they lose a
- 55:16kicker early in the season, they're looking for a * kicker.
- 55:19Justin Tucker is going to be on that list of guys, right, right
- 55:23on, right on that piece of paper that you're gonna want to bring
- 55:26in to kick that ball. So I disagree with you, Fish.
- 55:29I don't care what he's done. This isn't Deshaun Watson.
- 55:32And by the way, Deshaun Watson got another chance and he got a
- 55:35big contract from the Browns. So what's it?
- 55:37What is it different? From well, maybe that's where
- 55:39he's kicking. Maybe they'll they'll go over
- 55:42like, oh, I we need a kicker, Cleveland.
- 55:45I know a guy who's available. Let's just take Justin Tucker.
- 55:47Why would it matter? Everyone thinks for a joke
- 55:50anyway. I don't think so.
- 55:51Why not? I think there'll be a playoff
- 55:53team out there that's going to give him a shot.
- 55:54He deserves it. I've heard a lot of good things
- 55:57about him personally, what he does for kids, what he does off
- 56:00the football field. I I understand he's not a what
- 56:04he's done over the last past year or what he's been accused
- 56:07of. Maybe it is true, but that's his
- 56:10private life and I think we need to to stop talking about his
- 56:14private life. What he does on a football field
- 56:16is completely different. It's not like he was beating his
- 56:18wife. Brown was.
- 56:20The Giants kept them on their roster for a certain amount of
- 56:23time. We saw what Rice did.
- 56:25We've seen what other kickers in the Kareem Hunt, cream Hunt
- 56:29kicked a woman. He has another job.
- 56:32So don't tell me because Justin Tucker had one bad season
- 56:36because of what he was doing off the field, going to the massage
- 56:39parlors and getting his, you know what, his load being
- 56:42pulled. But that's not what he was doing
- 56:45though. He didn't go to massage parlors.
- 56:47At massage parlors, that's expected.
- 56:49He hired regular massage therapists that are not expected
- 56:53to give you the old happy ending at the end of the massage.
- 56:57And it's sexual abuse and sexual harassment to do that.
- 57:00And it's a crime if they did it in charge.
- 57:03But they're they don't want them to put them in jail.
- 57:04They want the money. And that's how it's always going
- 57:07to be. So people know that look, he did
- 57:10this stuff let. Me ask you a question, fish.
- 57:12Nobody's going to force you to do anything if you pull out
- 57:15money and they want to do it, they're going to do it anyways.
- 57:19It's so. Illegal.
- 57:20It's illegal to do. That all right it's illegal OK
- 57:24and they took the money so put him in jail if they if they have
- 57:27physical proof that he was doing it then put him in jail.
- 57:31He's going to that that's the problem right now it's money
- 57:34talks and again these people that's all they're looking for
- 57:38is a high payday. We've seen this over and over
- 57:40and over again. We don't know the truth.
- 57:43All we know is there's people coming out that said that he has
- 57:47pushed them to do that. So again, it's all hearsay and
- 57:51and they're taking money and they're getting paid off and
- 57:54Justin Tucker is not in jail. So to me, it's false information
