- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So today we are talking about the next decision and whenever
- 0:35we start this process and we talk about decisions, we always
- 0:39have to think in terms of, you know, where am I in the decision
- 0:42making process? Because sometimes it's future.
- 0:45Like we're trying to plan for the future as opposed to the
- 0:48very next decision I make like should I go pee or do I want to
- 0:52have a cup of coffee? So I want to focus on the next
- 0:55decision. The next decision that you make
- 0:58because this is where patterns come in.
- 1:00Is where we get stuck when we put ourselves into these
- 1:04repetitive situations. And we make the same decision
- 1:08over and over and over again. You know, one of my favorite
- 1:10examples of this is a Seinfeld episode because I'm a huge
- 1:13Seinfeld fan and there was an episode where George was
- 1:18completely disgusted with himself.
- 1:20And he said, I'm going to do the opposite of everything that I
- 1:24usually do and see what happens, because everything I do is
- 1:27normally wrong. So he's sitting in the diner
- 1:29with Jerry and Elaine. And he makes the decision
- 1:32instead of ordering his normal lunch of whatever.
- 1:35I think it was either tuna, I think it's tuna and coffee.
- 1:38So he gets egg salad and tea or it may have been the reverse of
- 1:41that was something like that and then everything changes.
- 1:46Now, it's a gross generalization to say that just by ordering a
- 1:49different lunch, you can end up with a completely different
- 1:52outcome in your life. However, it is a cumulative of
- 1:56those little tiny decisions that make the difference.
- 1:59So I want you to start thinking. Getting about the next decision,
- 2:02you're going to make and then the next one and the next one.
- 2:04And the next one, what clothes are you going to wear?
- 2:07How are you going to make small decisions that are different?
- 2:12The net, and it's always the very next decision, not the
- 2:14future decision, the very next decision, you know, it's the
- 2:19finite tiny details that we Overlook every single day.
- 2:24Simple things add up. So when you start being able to
- 2:26see things differently, you have different things to see.
- 2:30And this is part of the rewiring process to be able to do this.
- 2:36So yeah, I think she likes that idea to she has a lot to say
- 2:39about that. So it's the beginning of
- 2:45creating a great mindset and changing one of the most
- 2:49important aspects of the human brain.
- 2:51Neuroplasticity, so you're changing the patterns, you're
- 2:54getting in there and you're legitimately changing what you
- 2:58see inside of yourself by doing. Different.
- 3:01I've talked before on this podcast about how, you know, we
- 3:04do everything the same. We don't realize it, but we do.
- 3:07We sit down to eat the same. We usually have our drink in the
- 3:11same spot. We want to use the same plates
- 3:14and forks, and spoons, and brushing our teeth in the same
- 3:17pattern, washing yourself in the shower, always the same.
- 3:21So, it's when we try to do different things, we make
- 3:24different decisions. All of a sudden, it interrupts
- 3:27the pattern and it allows for other things to flow.
- 3:30Flow in, because there's a shift, a slight shift albeit,
- 3:34but it doesn't make a difference because those little tiny slight
- 3:36shifts. Always, always, always add up
- 3:39and matter. So I want to throw out there
- 3:42that the very next decision you make, how when you're listening
- 3:45to this, you could be in the car.
- 3:46You could already be at work. It could be.
- 3:49Listen, I go to the same coffee every day, I'm going to try
- 3:51something different, it could be that I eat the same breakfast.
- 3:53Every morning. I'm going to try something
- 3:55different. So when I was getting ready to
- 3:57come out here this morning, I have a protein shake I think
- 4:01I've had a protein shake for breakfast and my people who are
- 4:05know, me and regularly, talk to me, know, I'm huge on this and
- 4:10this protein shake is something that I don't go without daily
- 4:14unless I'm traveling, I don't go without and then I'm desperate
- 4:17to seek out where I can find a protein shake that I will like
- 4:20but I make it the same way all the time.
- 4:22So when I was getting ready for this I was like this is
- 4:24interesting. I'm going to make it differently
- 4:26today so I decided what can I do?
- 4:28That's different. I put 2 tablespoons of peanut.
- 4:30Butter. And I was like, wow, this is
- 4:32actually good because I don't put peanut butter in it.
- 4:34I don't I do the same thing all the time because I like it and
- 4:39it gives me certainty. So, my certainty girl thrives in
- 4:42that. So she knows, if we're having a
- 4:44protein shake, we're going to feel great.
- 4:45It's going to be X, Y, and Z to us.
- 4:47We're going to feel energized and we're going to be good, but
- 4:50I had the protein with the peanut butter and all of a
- 4:54sudden it was a completely different meal.
- 4:55And I started to think about, oh well, what else can I put in
- 4:58here? Maybe I should try cashew
- 4:59butter. Maybe To try some chocolate
- 5:02meaning like cacao not chocolate bars.
- 5:05Although I would do that because, you know, I'm a
- 5:07chocolate freak in itself but point being back to the point of
- 5:12this podcast is to look at those next decisions, the very next
- 5:17ones and try to change them and see how it shifts your day.
- 5:20And even if you're in a crappy mood, make a better decision.
- 5:24Try little small things that will shift you out think about
- 5:28it in terms of the next decision.
- 5:30Okay, my friends. I hope you have a blessed day
- 5:32and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
