- 1:04The Arise Women of God Podcast hello, and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:11I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:12Anderson, and joining me today is Kari Anjewierden of our Women warriors of Light Advisory Board.
- 1:19And today we are exploring the beautiful truth that that God is an active participant in the lives of his daughters.
- 1:28First, we're going to look at that worthless lie by checking out a scripture in Romans that is the ultimate armor for your broken moments.
- 1:37Second, Carrie is going to share how, as a mom of six, she doesn't need a quiet mountaintop to speak to God.
- 1:44He is perfectly happy talking to her while she's driving.
- 1:49Third, we're going to discuss the service hack, the one prayer God seems to answer faster than any other.
- 1:56And finally, we're going to look at the story of the woman with the issue of blood and how it proves that God is pressing through the noise of your life just to find you.
- 2:06But let's kick it off with a beautiful verse that helps us counter whether we're worthy for God to talk to us.
- 2:16Am I worthy?
- 2:17I've made so many mistakes in my life.
- 2:19I'm so imperfect.
- 2:20I mean, I think we always see ourselves as so flawed.
- 2:24And if I'm so flawed, how can God possibly love me?
- 2:28And can he talk to me as I'm strolling through the aisles of a grocery store?
- 2:33If I'm having a really hard day, do you know what I mean?
- 2:36Is that even feasible?
- 2:38Is that even possible?
- 2:39Does he even want to?
- 2:41And as I ponder this, I come from a place of knowing.
- 2:44I think every one of us out there has felt broken and unworthy of God and His love.
- 2:54And it feels very heavy when we need love, we need comfort.
- 3:02We need reassurance.
- 3:03And we wonder, can he talk to me even though I am so broken, Even though I am so flawed?
- 3:14And the answer is yes.
- 3:17I love how Paul describes in the New Testament that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
- 3:24You know, and he goes on to list all these things.
- 3:27Can trials and tribulations and all these horrible things.
- 3:31Can any of these things separate us from God?
- 3:33And his answer is no.
- 3:35No, nothing can.
- 3:38And I think that is just one of the most powerful reassurances to every one of us in our broken times.
- 3:46Yes, God can talk to us, and yes, he wants to.
- 3:52Every person in the Bible stories is broken except for Jesus, right?
- 3:59And he loves each of them enough in those stories to talk to them.
- 4:07And those same principles apply to us today.
- 4:10Did you catch that, ladies?
- 4:12Nothing can separate us.
- 4:14But even when we believe that he loves us, we often think we have to find a perfect place to hear Him.
- 4:23Kari use to think that she had to either go find a quiet place in nature, in the trees, or on a beach.
- 4:28But her reality as a mother of six completely change that perspective.
- 4:34This is something that I have tried to study out in my lifetime because there was a time that I felt like God didn't speak to me and I didn't feel worthy.
- 4:47And so being able to now be in a place where I can say, I know he wants to speak to me.
- 4:55I know he can speak to me.
- 4:56I'm his child.
- 4:59And just like me, with my children, if I ever get an opportunity to speak with my kids, I'm all in, right?
- 5:07I love my children, I want to speak to my children.
- 5:10And God is the same.
- 5:12And I used to think, oh, but I.
- 5:15I need to be in a grove of trees, I need to be in the mountains, I need to be on the beach.
- 5:19I need to be in some quiet, special place, right?
- 5:23My closet, whatever.
- 5:25And what I have realized as a mom of six kids, I don't have time always to go to those places, especially when I really need him.
- 5:36I'm usually in the car driving somewhere or folding laundry or doing dishes.
- 5:42And those are when those answers come to me are in those moments of serving somebody, I guess is what it really is, right?
- 5:52Because generally I'm driving kids here or there.
- 5:55I talk to him in the car.
- 5:56He talks to me in the car, right?
- 5:59He meets us where we are at.
- 6:02And I love that my God loves me so much that he meets me where I'm at, in those places that I need him.
- 6:12I'D love to always be on my knees seeking and have him answer me there.
- 6:16That's not usually where I get answers.
- 6:19Isn't it great to know he meets us where we are at?
- 6:23Whether you're doing the dishes or stuck in traffic, he is ready to talk.
- 6:28But if you're still unsure how to start a conversation, there's one specific prayer that acts like a spiritual fast pass to receiving an answer.
- 6:39Here's one of the prayers that I seem to get answered more quickly than others.
- 6:44And that is the prayer, who can I serve today?
- 6:50And just wait and listen.
- 6:52Because often there's somebody out there and God is very aware of all of his children that needs help.
- 6:58And help me to recognize when you're speaking to me.
- 7:02And it's so interesting, anytime I pray a prayer like that, somebody or something will come to mind.
- 7:08You need to do this.
- 7:11Oh.
- 7:12Or just somebody will pop into your head, pull out your phone.
- 7:16Hey, I'm thinking of you today.
- 7:17How you doing?
- 7:18You know what I mean?
- 7:19So.
- 7:19So just start asking, can you hear me?
- 7:24And help me learn how to hear you?
- 7:27Yeah.
- 7:27One of the things that I have learned in my lifetime is if I want to bring in God's spirit or to feel his spirit, the quickest way for me to do that is to think of my gratitude.
- 7:45What is it that I'm grateful for?
- 7:46What are the things?
- 7:47At least three things, right?
- 7:50And if I'm in more of a space that I can do that, I try to always have a notebook and a pen with me or at least something on my phone where I can take a note so that
- 8:02when I come to God and I say, I really would love to hear from you today, I'm ready.
- 8:08He knows I'm ready.
- 8:10And I'm waiting not just to hear his voice, but to write down what he's telling me with the intent of acting on it.
- 8:19And that has helped a lot.
- 8:22But I would also add that it's a process as well to learn to hear Him.
- 8:28And sometimes if you are not in that space where you're used to hearing him, doesn't mean he's not there.
- 8:36It might mean you just need a little bit more practice to find out how he's speaking to you.
- 8:42Right.
- 8:42Like you said.
- 8:43And so asking him directly, how do you speak to me?
- 8:47Help me to see it, help me to recognize it.
- 8:51But then make sure that you are also finding yourself in a space to recognize, to look for it, to find it.
- 8:59I know for me, when I started looking for God's hand in my life every day.
- 9:05That took a while to figure out where to see it every day.
- 9:10But each day as I was purposeful in wanting to see those things, eventually I could see miracles everywhere.
- 9:18And I was like, oh, well, he's there and he's there.
- 9:21And he was even in that thing that maybe was really hard, but he was there.
- 9:27So practice and yeah, don't give up on God.
- 9:30He's not going to give up on us.
- 9:32Gratitude is a practice of the heart.
- 9:35And if you're worried that you're lost in the noise of a busy life, remember that God is a master at finding exactly who he is looking for, even in a crowd.
- 9:48And I love the story also of of the woman with the issue of blood.
- 9:53She did not have a set time that she was sitting down to speak with him, right?
- 9:59It was in a busy crowd of people and she reached out to touch him.
- 10:05And because he was her father, he knew she was there because he wanted to connect with her.
- 10:12He stopped in that crowded space with the crowds pressing and found her.
- 10:19And he's doing that with us every day.
- 10:22I can promise that.
- 10:23I have felt that in my life.
- 10:25I have seen that in the lives of my children and and others that I know he's also pressing through the crowd to find us.
- 10:36So my friends, God is not waiting for for you to be perfect before he speaks to you.
- 10:41He's simply waiting for you to be present.
- 10:44So whether you're in a quiet closet or a noisy kitchen, know and remember that the heavens are open to you because God loves you.

- 11:26You are his and he loves you perfectly.
- 11:29May you open your ears to hear and your heart to feel his love is our prayer.
- 11:34And until next time, may you arise.
- 11:37Do it God's way.
- 11:38God strong.
