- 0:38Speaker 4: Yo.
- 0:42Speaker 3: I'm not doing that, all right, It's not no, no,
- 0:46Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 0:46Speaker 5: Yo, right, pibes are high this morning here on O TV. Guys,
- 0:51Speaker 5: Taylor sharpy with you one more time, Jacob Hester, Matt
- 0:54Speaker 5: Flynn not back quite yet.
- 0:57Speaker 4: They needed one more day off.
- 0:58Speaker 5: They will I have been told almost ninety percent certain
- 1:02Speaker 5: at this point they will be back tomorrow. We will
- 1:04Speaker 5: find out probably sometime this afternoon. But Taylor Sharp here
- 1:08Speaker 5: with you, hanging out the rest of the morning with you,
- 1:12Speaker 5: and we got a lot to talk about.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I mean, we got New Orleans Saints.
- 1:15Speaker 5: They got a new contract done over the weekend, a
- 1:18Speaker 5: big time contract that had to get done before the
- 1:21Speaker 5: start of training camp, which will occur on Wednesday. We're
- 1:23Speaker 5: gonna talk to Melochu Football News as SEC media or
- 1:27Speaker 5: the media that was out there at SEC media days,
- 1:29Speaker 5: I should say, put out their list of first team,
- 1:33Speaker 5: second team, third team. Like all SEC teams. I have
- 1:36Speaker 5: a lot of issues with it. We'll discuss that a
- 1:38Speaker 5: little bit later on. We got Devin Snow in his
- 1:41Speaker 5: normal spot at nine am. We had a big weekend
- 1:43Speaker 5: out there in New Orleans. And then we'll have Rolster
- 1:47Speaker 5: Jackson at eight point thirty hopping on to preview a
- 1:50Speaker 5: little bit of Saints training camp, which of course I
- 1:52Speaker 5: just mentioned is starting on this Wednesday.
- 1:56Speaker 4: You heard a launder there a little bit.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Earlier, my guy Paul O'Neill over here the video board,
- 2:01Speaker 5: having to pull a double. Paul's gonna be here till
- 2:04Speaker 5: about seven o'clock tonight. How we feeling vibes high, vibes low,
- 2:08Speaker 5: be somewhere in the middle.
- 2:09Speaker 4: How are we doing? You got a long one today?
- 2:10Speaker 4: We're somewhere in the middle as of right now. Okay,
- 2:13Speaker 4: ask me that at like four right, right, right, Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 5: When you got one hour to go in AFR, it's
- 2:18Speaker 5: like you got one hour left, but you've been here
- 2:20Speaker 5: for like twelve hours at that point.
- 2:22Speaker 4: It's it's it's bad vibes.
- 2:24Speaker 5: When I saw you send that text, when Matt was like, Hey,
- 2:27Speaker 5: I need somebody to fill in on video because Taylor
- 2:28Speaker 5: has the host and you were the one to respond
- 2:31Speaker 5: be like I can do it. I was like, oh man,
- 2:33Speaker 5: I got Paul in for a long one. Look, we've
- 2:36Speaker 5: all been there. As I mentioned, we got a jam
- 2:40Speaker 5: packed show today. So right now, let's get this show started.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's time to get glowing courtesy of go Flow ivy
- 2:50Speaker 1: spa where hydration vitamins and a summer ready glow are
- 2:53Speaker 1: always on tap now for starters.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Okay, so it was the big story of the weekend
- 3:03Speaker 5: here in the state of Louisiana. Look, when rookies are
- 3:07Speaker 5: finalizing their deals, traditionally only first round picks get a
- 3:12Speaker 5: fully guaranteed deal. Well, earlier in the offseason, Jaydon Higgins,
- 3:16Speaker 5: the Texans wide receiver, he got a fully guaranteed deal.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Carson Swezinger, the linebacker at a UCLA, he got a
- 3:22Speaker 5: fully guaranteed deal as well. Now they were the top
- 3:25Speaker 5: two picks of the second round, so it led to
- 3:28Speaker 5: a little bit of a holdout from a lot of
- 3:30Speaker 5: second round rookies. And Tyler Schuck didn't have a contract
- 3:35Speaker 5: as of this weekend. Well that is all changed the
- 3:38Speaker 5: New Orleans Saints and rookie quarterback Tyler Schuck have agreed
- 3:41Speaker 5: to terms on a four year contract worth ten point
- 3:44Speaker 5: seven nine to five million dollars fully guaranteed, of course.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Adam Schefter reported this on Saturday. He said they agreed
- 3:54Speaker 5: to the full contract got pick number forty Shuck as
- 3:57Speaker 5: the last player selected in the twenty twenty five draft
- 4:00Speaker 5: to secure a fully guaranteed deal. So, as I just mentioned,
- 4:03Speaker 5: normally it's the first round pick, right, it's the top
- 4:05Speaker 5: thirty two. Maybe this sets a president to where, hey,
- 4:08Speaker 5: that top forty Caudshuck was at forty, Maybe that top
- 4:11Speaker 5: forty going forward, we'll get that guaranteed money. Of course
- 4:14Speaker 5: they did this year. The contract also includes an annual
- 4:18Speaker 5: roster bonus structure where Shark will receive the majority of
- 4:21Speaker 5: his compensation each year up front during the first week
- 4:25Speaker 5: of training camp. So it's nothing new here. The Saints
- 4:28Speaker 5: are kind of team cream with a contact trying to
- 4:30Speaker 5: find the best way to get the player of the
- 4:31Speaker 5: money that they believe they deserve and to help them
- 4:34Speaker 5: out in the cap situation. I got roster Jackson actually
- 4:38Speaker 5: onluisianasports dot Net put out a really interesting article. Obviously
- 4:42Speaker 5: he linked at them Schefter's tweet, but he mentioned, look,
- 4:45Speaker 5: typically a roster bonus the guaranteed amount of money that
- 4:48Speaker 5: is contingent upon a player being on the roster at
- 4:50Speaker 5: a designated time. No details on what it's going to
- 4:54Speaker 5: look like, what amount of money they're going to get.
- 4:56Speaker 5: But uh Ross said, in those circumstances, bonuses kick in
- 5:01Speaker 5: during the same year, and even put an example like
- 5:04Speaker 5: if a player is on the roster at a date
- 5:06Speaker 5: ahead of the twenty twenty six training camp and their
- 5:09Speaker 5: twenty twenty six bonus kicks in. Otherwise teams work ahead,
- 5:13Speaker 5: that would mean guarantee in a twenty twenty seven bonus
- 5:16Speaker 5: won a date later in twenty twenty six. So a
- 5:20Speaker 5: lot of jargon there, But look, it doesn't matter how
- 5:23Speaker 5: this deal got done. It doesn't matter fully guaranteed, not
- 5:27Speaker 5: fully guaranteed. Like what matters is that it did get done,
- 5:32Speaker 5: because training camp is starting up in just a few
- 5:34Speaker 5: days and you're not gonna want to have Spencer Ratler
- 5:37Speaker 5: out there taken all the first team reps by default.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Now at the end of training camp, if Rattler separates himself,
- 5:44Speaker 5: then that's fine. Let him take all the first team reps.
- 5:46Speaker 5: But I want Shock and Rattler out there both battling
- 5:50Speaker 5: for that quarterback one spot because it's good for all involved.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Competition makes you better.
- 5:56Speaker 5: But look again, if Rattler indeed wins this job, I
- 5:59Speaker 5: don't want to to be by default. I don't want
- 6:01Speaker 5: him to say, oh well, shucks a camp hold out,
- 6:03Speaker 5: the contract, disputes going online. He's behind the eight ball
- 6:07Speaker 5: a little bit. He has some catching up to do
- 6:08Speaker 5: being a rookie. Anyways, we're gonna have to wait, you know,
- 6:11Speaker 5: and maybe starting week four, week five, week six of
- 6:14Speaker 5: the season because he's not up to speed.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Well, that's no longer the case. Like you want to
- 6:19Speaker 4: see and.
- 6:19Speaker 5: You need to see how the Saints offense flows with
- 6:23Speaker 5: both guys.
- 6:24Speaker 4: The more options the better.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Is how I've always looked at like you look at
- 6:29Speaker 5: it camps across the country right now, like there's a
- 6:32Speaker 5: lot of rookie quarterbacks battling for jobs, but all of
- 6:35Speaker 5: them were scheduled to be at camp. The one we
- 6:37Speaker 5: were wondering about was Tyler Shuck. He's going to be there.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Spencer Rattler is going to be there. Obviously, those are
- 6:43Speaker 5: the top two guys. But look, Jay Cayner's in the mix.
- 6:46Speaker 5: You see Hunter Decker's right here on the picture behind me.
- 6:48Speaker 5: There are four guys out there. You want as many
- 6:50Speaker 5: guys as possible because this is a revamp. Like you
- 6:54Speaker 5: brought in Kellen Moore to build the offense the way
- 6:56Speaker 5: he wanted to. He felt comfortable enough spending a top
- 6:59Speaker 5: forty overall pick one Tyler Shuck. Clearly that's the guy
- 7:02Speaker 5: that he would like to run his offense. Now, Shuck's
- 7:05Speaker 5: still gonna have to earn the job. He's not gonna
- 7:07Speaker 5: come in and say, hey, I drafted you high. You're
- 7:09Speaker 5: the guy I want to go with. Go out there,
- 7:11Speaker 5: even though you've struggled in camp. He's still us to
- 7:13Speaker 5: earn the job. But the fact that he's going to
- 7:15Speaker 5: be out there with the contract negotiations behind him, fully
- 7:19Speaker 5: bought in, ready to go in camp, that tells me
- 7:22Speaker 5: that he's fully bought in. I'm excited about this. As
- 7:24Speaker 5: far as who wins the battle, I don't know. I mean, look,
- 7:28Speaker 5: I just laid out that Chuck was the guy that
- 7:30Speaker 5: that Kellen Moore drafted, right, that Dougnsemeyer wanted in the
- 7:33Speaker 5: building as well.
- 7:34Speaker 4: That's the guy that they targeted.
- 7:36Speaker 5: And I know what you're saying, Oh, well, you know,
- 7:37Speaker 5: they could have drafted to Jackson Dart in the first
- 7:39Speaker 5: round or anything like this. There were reports early on,
- 7:42Speaker 5: like two months before the draft, that Tyler Shuck was
- 7:44Speaker 5: a name to keep an eye on for the New
- 7:46Speaker 5: Orleans Saints. So it's not one of those things where, oh,
- 7:49Speaker 5: the top guys on our board were taken. We kind
- 7:52Speaker 5: of waited until forty and kind of took whatever was left.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Shuck was a guy that was really really high on
- 7:57Speaker 5: the Saints board. This is a guy that they like,
- 8:00Speaker 5: and I think that gives him an advantage. Now, obviously,
- 8:02Speaker 5: Spencer Ratler has the experience in the league because he
- 8:05Speaker 5: had been there a year before, but he wasn't a
- 8:06Speaker 5: full time starter. Now he got a lot of starts
- 8:09Speaker 5: and he played a lot just because Derek Carr was
- 8:12Speaker 5: injured for the entire year. That held the entire offense
- 8:15Speaker 5: was injured for the entire year. Again, Ratler has the
- 8:18Speaker 5: advantage being in his second year. But I mean, Tyler
- 8:20Speaker 5: Shuck's now your normal rookie. Everyone loves to point out, Oh, man,
- 8:24Speaker 5: Tyler Shuck's old. He's twenty five years old, which I've
- 8:27Speaker 5: always thought is stupid, Like, yeah, he's a quarterback, he's
- 8:30Speaker 5: not a running back. Like if Tyler Shuck comes in
- 8:32Speaker 5: works out, becomes your starting quarterback for the next decade, Wan,
- 8:36Speaker 5: he's only thirty five years old at that point in
- 8:38Speaker 5: quarterbacks are playing well into their forties now. And secondly,
- 8:41Speaker 5: no one's going to care how old the guy was
- 8:43Speaker 5: when he drafted him. If he's your starting quarterback for
- 8:45Speaker 5: the next decade, if you're starting quarterback for the next
- 8:47Speaker 5: ten years, well then it worked out wonderfully. Being there
- 8:51Speaker 5: at the fortieth overall pick, you grabbed your future franchise quarterback.
- 8:56Speaker 5: A Lave appears to be healthy right now. We'll see
- 8:59Speaker 5: the health of Rashiji, But right now the Saints are
- 9:02Speaker 5: about as healthy as they can be going into camp,
- 9:06Speaker 5: and I understand they don't have a lot of top
- 9:08Speaker 5: tier guys. There's not any guys out there. You're like, hey,
- 9:10Speaker 5: these guys are going to be all pro. The Saints
- 9:12Speaker 5: rosters loaded. You have a Lave, you Rashid jh. You
- 9:16Speaker 5: have Brandon Cooks that's a decent three. Now I'm not
- 9:19Speaker 5: sure you have a bona fide number one, but all
- 9:21Speaker 5: three of those guys can play. Cooks a little bit older.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Rashid and Alave have had some injury issues, but when
- 9:28Speaker 5: they're all three fully healthy and ready to go, they're
- 9:30Speaker 5: talented players.
- 9:31Speaker 4: And last year you had no depth behind Alvin kam.
- 9:35Speaker 5: When Kamara needed a breather, you had Kendre Miller who
- 9:37Speaker 5: was hurt and wasn't playing. You had Jordan Mems who
- 9:41Speaker 5: just didn't give you a whole lot of production.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Anyways.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Now behind Alvin Kamara you have Devin Neil, who by
- 9:48Speaker 5: all accounts of this staff loves, They drafted in the
- 9:49Speaker 5: sixth round out of Kansas. You still have Kendre Miller.
- 9:52Speaker 5: If he can stay healthy. A lot of people are
- 9:54Speaker 5: still high on him. You signed Clyde Edwards and Layer
- 9:57Speaker 5: halfway through the year last year because you were so injured.
- 9:59Speaker 5: He's still out there at camp. You just brought in
- 10:01Speaker 5: Cam Akers. Now that's two Achilles injuries, but he's a
- 10:05Speaker 5: year and a half removed from that second.
- 10:07Speaker 4: When can he get back into four.
- 10:09Speaker 5: He's a guy that meant a lot to a Los
- 10:11Speaker 5: Angeles Rams team that won the Super Bowl. During that
- 10:13Speaker 5: playoff run, you saw a lot of camp acers. He's
- 10:16Speaker 5: been in some big time moments. He's produced in big
- 10:18Speaker 5: time moments. The offensive line is another like. The offensive
- 10:24Speaker 5: line was a straight up liability last year. That's why
- 10:26Speaker 5: Carr was hurt. That's why all your running backs behind
- 10:29Speaker 5: Alvin Kamara were hurt. The offensive line was shaky. You
- 10:32Speaker 5: bring in Kelvin Banks, it looks like he's going to
- 10:34Speaker 5: slide right in there to left tackle. Eric McCoy, in
- 10:38Speaker 5: my opinion, one of the best sinners in all the
- 10:40Speaker 5: football Tyley sa Fuaga likely sliding over to right tackle.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Then you move Trevor Penning to guard. You still have
- 10:45Speaker 5: Caesar Ruiz, who has been shaky at times, but that's
- 10:48Speaker 5: still a guy who you spent a first round pick
- 10:50Speaker 5: on just a few years ago. Can you finally get
- 10:53Speaker 5: him some protection between McCoy and the tackle on the
- 10:56Speaker 5: other side of him. Maybe try to get as much
- 10:58Speaker 5: as you can out of a Caesar So between Banks, Ruez, McCoy,
- 11:02Speaker 5: Trevor Penning, who I hope can work out at that
- 11:05Speaker 5: guard spot, and then Tally saf Well get right tackle.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I'm not saying this offensive line is gonna be best
- 11:11Speaker 5: in the league. I'm not saying they're gonna be a
- 11:12Speaker 5: top five.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Unit in the league.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Can they be serviceable, can they be stable? Can they
- 11:17Speaker 5: stay healthy and a whole play together. If you can
- 11:19Speaker 5: get any of that, you're in a lot better shape
- 11:21Speaker 5: than you were a year ago. But we'll see how
- 11:23Speaker 5: the quarterback battle shakes out. But with Tyler Shark's contract
- 11:26Speaker 5: in the rear view mirror, you got him, you got
- 11:28Speaker 5: Spencer Rattler battling it out for QB one and as
- 11:31Speaker 5: a whole, you're pretty healthy overall heading into training camp.
- 11:34Speaker 5: All right, we're going to take a quick time out
- 11:36Speaker 5: when we get back SEC media to wrap up media days.
- 11:39Speaker 5: This broke about noon on Friday. Put out there all
- 11:43Speaker 5: SEC team and projected order of finish. We're breaking it
- 11:46Speaker 5: down next here on Off the bench, Off the bench.
- 11:50Speaker 2: All right, go to Boudroxelectrical dot Com Boudros Electrical Services,
- 11:55Speaker 2: More Power, more Protection, Get your free generact quote right

- 12:08Speaker 2: Hurricane season is a coming. We know it's going to
- 12:11Speaker 2: happen here in South Louisiana. But you have that protection

- 12:25Speaker 2: you don't call them, you won't have that ultimate peace
- 12:27Speaker 2: of mind. Go to Budo's Electrical dot Com.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Yeah, we already have some name storm name storms popping

- 12:39Speaker 6: Give them a call to day that Generac generator. Budros
- 12:43Speaker 6: Electrical dot Com.
- 13:01Speaker 1: From Players to Legends, Hester and Flynn breakdown LSU football
- 13:05Speaker 1: like only champions can.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Welcome back in Monday edition of Off the Bench, Taylor
- 13:13Speaker 5: Sharp sitting in for Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn. The
- 13:17Speaker 5: guys will be back tomorrow for sure. We do have
- 13:20Speaker 5: confirmation on that. Mentioned it a little bit there going
- 13:23Speaker 5: into break. On Friday to wrap up SEC Media Days,
- 13:27Speaker 5: a list came out that all the media that was
- 13:29Speaker 5: out there at SEC Media Days put out there all
- 13:32Speaker 5: SEC team and the projected order of finish Right now,
- 13:36Speaker 5: I want to look at the All SEC team because
- 13:38Speaker 5: I have some major issues with it. When you look
- 13:41Speaker 5: at the defense, will start there first. LSU has one guy,
- 13:45Speaker 5: It's Wit Weeks on the first team at linebacker.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Makes a lot of sense. Weeks was excellent last year.
- 13:51Speaker 5: If he's fully recovered from that ankle injury that he
- 13:53Speaker 5: suffered in the Bowl game, then I have no reason
- 13:56Speaker 5: to believe the Wod Weeks is not gonna be awesome
- 13:58Speaker 5: this year.
- 13:58Speaker 4: As well.
- 14:00Speaker 5: The second team, you have one guy as well, linebacker
- 14:03Speaker 5: Harold Perkins.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Again makes sense.
- 14:06Speaker 5: You can't put him first team because of the injuries
- 14:08Speaker 5: we've seen the last couple of years. But where it is,
- 14:10Speaker 5: they're moving him to the star position full time. I
- 14:13Speaker 5: think he's going to thrive there. That's a chance for
- 14:15Speaker 5: him to move around. He can cover receivers out of
- 14:18Speaker 5: the backfield, he can still rush the passer off the edge.
- 14:21Speaker 5: He can still play inside if you need him too.
- 14:23Speaker 5: That star position allows Harold Perkins to be very versatile.
- 14:26Speaker 5: It frees him up in the Blake Baker defense.
- 14:28Speaker 4: I like that with your specialist.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Barrion Brown makes second team returner Xavi and Thomas makes
- 14:35Speaker 5: second team All purpose.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Good with that until you see who's.
- 14:39Speaker 5: In front of them, Like Zachariah Branch from Georgia made
- 14:43Speaker 5: first team in both of those categories, so he's first
- 14:45Speaker 5: team returner and first team All purpose. I gotta be honest,
- 14:50Speaker 5: I don't know where the hype around Zachariah Branch is
- 14:53Speaker 5: coming from. I know how it started, I don't know
- 14:55Speaker 5: why it's continued. So if you remember two years ago
- 14:59Speaker 5: opening game at time twenty twenty three USC and I
- 15:02Speaker 5: forget who they were playing, but Zacharia Branch, true freshman,
- 15:05Speaker 5: first college game, had a punt return for a touchdown
- 15:07Speaker 5: and caught a long pass for a touchdown, and people
- 15:10Speaker 5: lost their minds.
- 15:11Speaker 4: The hype train has not slowed down since.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Okay, but during that twenty twenty three season, he had
- 15:16Speaker 5: three hundred and twenty receiving yards, two touchdowns, and then
- 15:20Speaker 5: in the return game he had three hundred yards of
- 15:25Speaker 5: punt return just one return touchdown.
- 15:29Speaker 4: That's his only return touchdown in two years.
- 15:31Speaker 5: People talk about Zacharia Branch all the time being this
- 15:34Speaker 5: dynamic playmaker. He has one return touchdown in punts one
- 15:38Speaker 5: on kickoff, Like, that's pretty good but I mean, we
- 15:41Speaker 5: had heard about Barryon Brown and the records that he had.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Set at Kentucky.
- 15:45Speaker 5: He has so many returns in big time moments, like
- 15:48Speaker 5: Barryon Brown has to be first team on this list.
- 15:51Speaker 5: And then when you look at the receiving numbers, a
- 15:53Speaker 5: two year total for Zacharia Branch eight hundred and twenty
- 15:57Speaker 5: three yards and three touchdowns.
- 15:58Speaker 4: That's in two full seasons.
- 16:01Speaker 5: I get that we saw Zacharia Branch on a big
- 16:03Speaker 5: stage early in his career and he performed well. He
- 16:05Speaker 5: hadn't done a whole heck of a lot since then,
- 16:08Speaker 5: and it's been two years. We got to slow down
- 16:10Speaker 5: on the Zacharia Branch hype train. So if any of
- 16:13Speaker 5: you listen to our station after AFR, the Chuck Oliver
- 16:16Speaker 5: ship normally comes on. I love the Chuck Oliver Show
- 16:19Speaker 5: because I'm a football nerd, but I understand, you know,
- 16:22Speaker 5: everybody's gonna have certain opinions. This was about two weeks ago.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Whoever was filling in for Chuck Oliver. I don't remember
- 16:28Speaker 5: the guy's name, but the point of it was he
- 16:31Speaker 5: had a Georgia Beat reporter on and they were chatting
- 16:34Speaker 5: back and forth about the Bulldogs and whoever the guy
- 16:36Speaker 5: was filling in for Chuck Oliver goes. Look, you know,
- 16:38Speaker 5: Georgia hadn't had a thousand yard receivers and brock Bauers
- 16:41Speaker 5: like two or three years ago. I think that's gonna change.
- 16:44Speaker 5: I think Zacharia Branch is gonna be one thousand yard receiver.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Why you have a first year starting quarterback in Gunner Stockton,
- 16:50Speaker 5: you don't have a ton of weapons around him your
- 16:53Speaker 5: running game?
- 16:53Speaker 4: What's that gonna look like?
- 16:54Speaker 3: Like?
- 16:55Speaker 5: How is Zacharia Branch gonna get to a thousand yards?
- 16:57Speaker 5: He would have to double his production from a year
- 17:00Speaker 5: ago five hundred and three yards exactly a year ago.
- 17:03Speaker 5: That's his best season in college football. How is Zacharya
- 17:05Speaker 5: Branch going to get to a thousand yards? I don't
- 17:08Speaker 5: see it. It's hype because you've seen the flashes in
- 17:11Speaker 5: big moments, but the consistency has not been there for
- 17:14Speaker 5: two years now. Going back to Barrion Browns, Davion Thomas,
- 17:18Speaker 5: second team and returner and all purpose charge respectfully. On
- 17:22Speaker 5: the offensive side of the ball, Aaron Anderson, Cayden Durham,
- 17:26Speaker 5: and Garrett no Smyer all made second team. Anderson Durham.
- 17:32Speaker 5: I'm good with Anderson over eight hundred yards last season.
- 17:36Speaker 5: He wound up being your leading receiver in terms of yards.
- 17:38Speaker 5: And then Caden Durham exploded after about week three or four,
- 17:42Speaker 5: like he wound up being your running game. He kind
- 17:44Speaker 5: of carrying you through the rest of the season. I
- 17:46Speaker 5: expect him to take a leap for I'm good with
- 17:48Speaker 5: both of those guys being second team all less easy.
- 17:50Speaker 5: Why is Garrett no Smyer on the second team. I'm
- 17:54Speaker 5: gonna continue to bring this up until it changes. Garrett
- 17:59Speaker 5: no Smyer is the leading returning passer in all of
- 18:02Speaker 5: college football, meaning nobody starting a quarterback this year in
- 18:07Speaker 5: college football threw from more yards than Garrett Nosemeyer did
- 18:09Speaker 5: a year ago.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Nobody. And it's funny.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Matt Musso came up to me Friday afternoon because it's
- 18:16Speaker 5: when the list came out. He goes, hey, guess who's
- 18:18Speaker 5: first team ll SEC quarterback. I'm all right, you came
- 18:22Speaker 5: up to him and you're asking me this. It means
- 18:23Speaker 5: it's not Garrett Nosmeyer, which is already ridiculous. I was like,
- 18:26Speaker 5: I don't know, is the arch hype train exploding. He's like, no, No,
- 18:29Speaker 5: it's not arch. I was like a lot of people
- 18:31Speaker 5: like DJ Lagway. I still need to see a lot,
- 18:33Speaker 5: but there's a lot of hype around DJ Lagway. No,
- 18:37Speaker 5: it's Lenora Sellers from South Carolina. Okay, Lenora Sellers did
- 18:42Speaker 5: some nice things last year. But when you look at
- 18:44Speaker 5: Sellers versus Nuss, by the numbers, Lenora Sellers sixty twenty
- 18:50Speaker 5: five hundred yards, eighteen touchdown passes, seven interceptions, Garrett Nosemeyer
- 18:57Speaker 5: four thousand yards passing, twenty nine touchdown passes, but he
- 19:00Speaker 5: did have twelve interceptions. Menuss almost doubled his yardage.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Jode.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Everybody's going to say, okay, well, you got to take
- 19:07Speaker 5: it into consideration Lenora Sellers' ability to run. Sure, that's fine,
- 19:10Speaker 5: I did that. Leonora Sellers passing and rushing combined thirty
- 19:16Speaker 5: two hundred yards twenty five touchdowns. Garrett and Osmeyer still
- 19:20Speaker 5: has him beat by almost one thousand total yards of
- 19:23Speaker 5: offense and seven touchdowns. When you're take into consideration the
- 19:29Speaker 5: three touchdowns and thus had on the grounds, it's not
- 19:35Speaker 5: really close. And then everybody's going to say, like, I
- 19:38Speaker 5: don't remember who it was, but Matt Moscow at SEC
- 19:41Speaker 5: Media days had interviewed one of the SEC media guys
- 19:45Speaker 5: out there and they said, oh, well, Lenora Sellers is
- 19:48Speaker 5: going to be my first team All SECQB. And when
- 19:50Speaker 5: Matt asked why, he said, I can't get the Clemson
- 19:53Speaker 5: game out of my head.
- 19:55Speaker 4: He went on the road.
- 19:55Speaker 5: He beat Clemson late in the year. He was excellent.
- 20:01Speaker 5: That game was seventeen to fourteen. Leonora's Sellers did not
- 20:05Speaker 5: throw a touchdown pass. Like again, that game was seventeen
- 20:09Speaker 5: to thirteen. It's it's not like he went out there
- 20:13Speaker 5: and let up the scoreboard. Now, in Seller's defense, before
- 20:16Speaker 5: that game, I mean he had a really good four
- 20:20Speaker 5: game stretch. So before the game against Clemson he threw
- 20:23Speaker 5: for a two forty four, two thirty eight, three fifty three,
- 20:25Speaker 5: and three zero seven multiple touchdown passes.
- 20:28Speaker 4: About those games that was great. A and m Vandy
- 20:30Speaker 4: Missouri were three of those games.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Now, the last one was Wafford, but it doesn't matter
- 20:34Speaker 5: that that's still a good sample size. But against Clemson,
- 20:36Speaker 5: one hundred and sixty four yards passing, no touchdowns on
- 20:39Speaker 5: a pick. Now he ran for one hundred and sixty
- 20:42Speaker 5: six yards and two touchdowns. But I have major question
- 20:45Speaker 5: marks on Lenora's Seller's ability to throw the football. Go
- 20:49Speaker 5: back and watch the South Carolina Alabama gain in the
- 20:52Speaker 5: fourth quarter. South Carolina is going down the field to
- 20:54Speaker 5: win the game. If Leonora's Sellers hits a wide open
- 20:58Speaker 5: man in the back of the end zone and then
- 21:00Speaker 5: he wound up air mailing, South Carolina beats Alabama and
- 21:03Speaker 5: they should have won that game. But he missed the
- 21:06Speaker 5: easy throat. So you look at the Clemson game. Okay,
- 21:09Speaker 5: one to sixty four through the air, no touchdowns and
- 21:11Speaker 5: a pick. They lose the bowl game to Illinois. No,
- 21:17Speaker 5: that was a good Illinois team, but two hundred and
- 21:20Speaker 5: sixty yards a touchdown, and then they shut him down
- 21:23Speaker 5: on the ground, which is why they ultimately lost that game.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Eleven carries for nineteen yards. You're kind of starting to
- 21:29Speaker 5: see the picture when you shut him down and he
- 21:32Speaker 5: no longer has the ability to run. He's limited as
- 21:34Speaker 5: a passer. So the numbers from last season aren't even close.
- 21:40Speaker 5: But I was like, Okay, let's give him the benefit
- 21:42Speaker 5: of the doubt. Maybe they're projecting to next season. When
- 21:48Speaker 5: you project to next season, like it's almost worse. And
- 21:54Speaker 5: then also going back to the end of last season,
- 21:56Speaker 5: throw those numbers out the window, because if you look
- 21:58Speaker 5: at Garrett no Smyer, when Chris Hilton was fully healthy,
- 22:01Speaker 5: last three games of the year Vanderbilt Oklahoma, the bowl
- 22:04Speaker 5: game against Baylor, Garrett Nelsmeyer seventy two percent completion, seven touchdowns,
- 22:08Speaker 5: one pick, when you finally had that deep threat to
- 22:11Speaker 5: open up the offense. Lenora Sellers did not have that.
- 22:18Speaker 5: But if you're projecting to this year, I think the
- 22:23Speaker 5: gap gets even larger. L shoes loaded with weapons. Yes,
- 22:27Speaker 5: they lose Kyraen Lacy. He made some big plays for
- 22:29Speaker 5: you last year. Yes, you lose Mason Taylor, the best
- 22:31Speaker 5: tight end in program history. Trade has agreed in Bower
- 22:35Speaker 5: Sharp the combination of those two might actually give you
- 22:38Speaker 5: more versatility than you had with Mason Taylor. You bring
- 22:41Speaker 5: him Barry and Brown, Nick Anderson, you get Aaron Anderson backs.
- 22:45Speaker 5: Avion Thomas is there, Chris Hilton's there. You just went
- 22:47Speaker 5: to SEC media days. They're obviously expecting big things from him.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Jelannie Watkins has more speed than anybody out there, if
- 22:55Speaker 5: he could ever get on the field. Tron Francis was
- 22:58Speaker 5: a high four star, Philip Right was a four star receiver,
- 23:02Speaker 5: and these are guys that hadn't even stepp foot on
- 23:03Speaker 5: the field yet. Kylum Billy oots out there, Kyle Parker
- 23:07Speaker 5: can bounce back from his injury.
- 23:09Speaker 4: You get the point. LSU has a lot of weapons.
- 23:12Speaker 5: And then most of those guys I just mentioned have
- 23:14Speaker 5: already made big plays for you. Who's South Carolina's top weapon? Like,
- 23:21Speaker 5: if I, as the average football fan, maybe South Carolina's
- 23:24Speaker 5: number one receiver, They're not gonna be able to do it.
- 23:26Speaker 5: And everyone wants to say Nicholas Harbor, but I'm not
- 23:30Speaker 5: sure that's true. Like Nick Harbor is a six foot four,
- 23:34Speaker 5: two hundred and thirty five pound freak that runs a
- 23:36Speaker 5: four to three forty yard dash and he hasn't done
- 23:39Speaker 5: anything in college football. He has a lot of potential,
- 23:43Speaker 5: he has a lot of athleticism, he has done nothing.
- 23:46Speaker 5: He's enterdew as a junior season. So he said two
- 23:48Speaker 5: full years of football that he's already played. His best
- 23:51Speaker 5: year was last season where he had three hundred and
- 23:53Speaker 5: seventy six receiving yards and three touchdowns.
- 23:57Speaker 4: That's it.
- 24:01Speaker 5: You have Rocket Sanders in the backfield, you have Lenora
- 24:03Speaker 5: Sellers and their ability to run. That's fine, but I
- 24:06Speaker 5: mean the weapons that are going to help out Lenora's sellers.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Not only is Garrett Nosmyri much better and much more
- 24:12Speaker 5: polished passer than Sellers, I personally don't think it's close.
- 24:16Speaker 5: The weapons and the guys around them that can help
- 24:20Speaker 5: out their quarterback and make that guy better, it's not
- 24:23Speaker 5: even close. So Nesmeyer has the number advantage from a
- 24:26Speaker 5: season ago, buy a lot. He has a lot more
- 24:28Speaker 5: weapons in my opinion heading into the season. What am
- 24:33Speaker 5: I missing? Because again, if you go by row numbers,
- 24:36Speaker 5: it's Garrett Nosmarck. If you go by what you're projecting
- 24:39Speaker 5: in next season, I don't know how it's not Garrett Nosemeyer.
- 24:41Speaker 4: There as well.
- 24:42Speaker 5: To me, the screams laziness by the media. I mentioned
- 24:45Speaker 5: when Matt had I can't remember who it was. Matt
- 24:50Speaker 5: had the guy on at SEC media Days and he said,
- 24:52Speaker 5: I can't get the end of the season out.
- 24:53Speaker 4: Of my head.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Garrett no Smyer into his season better than lenora Sellers,
- 24:58Speaker 5: So throw that out the window. And I understand Lenora's
- 25:03Speaker 5: Sellers got hurt right before half time in the LSU game,
- 25:07Speaker 5: and if he doesn't, South Carolina likely wins that game.
- 25:10Speaker 5: I understand that but the fact of the matter is
- 25:12Speaker 5: he did leave that game and LSU did win that game.
- 25:14Speaker 5: So LSU had the head to head of South Carolina
- 25:17Speaker 5: eight year ago. Whether they should have won it or
- 25:18Speaker 5: not doesn't matter at this point. Now Smart went on
- 25:22Speaker 5: the route and beat South Carolina. He had seven touchdowns
- 25:25Speaker 5: and one pick through the last three games of the year.
- 25:27Speaker 5: He has a ton of weapons coming in. Leonora's Sellers
- 25:29Speaker 5: doesn't have any of those things. You lost the bowl
- 25:32Speaker 5: game to Illinois, and then everyone wants to talk about
- 25:34Speaker 5: how you dominated Clemson. It was seventeen fourteen. It was
- 25:37Speaker 5: a defensive game. You ran for one hundred and sixty
- 25:41Speaker 5: six yards. That's great. You threw for less than one
- 25:43Speaker 5: seventy through a pick and no touchdown passes Like, I
- 25:47Speaker 5: don't understand what I'm missing here with Lenora Sellers. I
- 25:50Speaker 5: think this is laziness about the media. I think it's
- 25:52Speaker 5: recency bias because everyone wants to talk about Sellers late
- 25:54Speaker 5: in the season. However, if you actually do your research
- 25:57Speaker 5: and dig into the numbers, it shouldn't even be recenty, yes,
- 26:00Speaker 5: and thus was better at the end of the year.
- 26:02Speaker 5: All right, we're going to take a time out.
- 26:03Speaker 4: We get back. We're gonna continue to break this down.
- 26:05Speaker 5: The sec projected order of finish came out as well.

- 28:34Speaker 5: Matt Flynn. They are both out today obviously, but they
- 28:37Speaker 5: will be back tomorrow.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Okay.
- 28:39Speaker 5: The SEC projected order of finish voted on by the
- 28:43Speaker 5: media that was out there in Atlanta last week has
- 28:46Speaker 5: been revealed, and the Texas Longhorns get the most votes
- 28:49Speaker 5: that they are pre projected to finish first coming up
- 28:52Speaker 5: in the twenty twenty five colleg football season. They are
- 28:54Speaker 5: followed by Georgia, Alabama, LSU, then a big gap, i
- 28:59Speaker 5: mean like five hundred votes all the way down to
- 29:02Speaker 5: South Carolina at number five.
- 29:04Speaker 4: For what it's worth.
- 29:05Speaker 5: So funny, we were talking on Friday about the teams
- 29:08Speaker 5: we thought were gonna be the worst. I picked Arkansas, Kentucky,
- 29:11Speaker 5: Mississippi State. Well, apparently that wasn't a hot take. Bottom
- 29:15Speaker 5: three Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State in that order, Vanderbilt right
- 29:19Speaker 5: above them. I don't necessarily have a huge issue with Georgia, Texas,
- 29:26Speaker 5: Alabama all being ahead of LSU, but I do want
- 29:29Speaker 5: to point out that there are obvious issues with all
- 29:31Speaker 5: three of these teams. It's almost refreshing looking at it
- 29:34Speaker 5: and saying, hey, there's not one dominant team coming into
- 29:37Speaker 5: the season where you look and you say, man, that
- 29:40Speaker 5: team's gonna steamroll everyone. All the other teams are fighting
- 29:43Speaker 5: for second. You don't really have that because when you
- 29:46Speaker 5: look at Georgia, Gunner Stocked it their starting quarterback this year,
- 29:50Speaker 5: started one game last year. Now, he played in the
- 29:52Speaker 5: SEC Championship against Texas and he played well. I mean,
- 29:56Speaker 5: they didn't ask him to do what Tony went ten
- 29:58Speaker 5: of sixteen for about seventy yards, but he played well.
- 30:01Speaker 5: He I mean he almost got it done for him.
- 30:03Speaker 5: And then he plays Notre Dame in the College Football
- 30:07Speaker 5: Playoff and he performed well. Was there despite the fact
- 30:09Speaker 5: that they got the laws. So that's two defenses that
- 30:13Speaker 5: were ranked in the top five a year ago, and
- 30:16Speaker 5: Gunnar Stockton wasn't a disaster going in when he didn't
- 30:19Speaker 5: have a ton of experience. He looked like he belonged.
- 30:21Speaker 5: He has a full offseason as the starter in this program.
- 30:24Speaker 5: I think he'll be fine, but there's still question marks
- 30:27Speaker 5: there as well. And again going back to the weapons
- 30:30Speaker 5: on the offensive side for Georgia, they didn't have a
- 30:33Speaker 5: ton last year. I mean, there's always a guy that's
- 30:37Speaker 5: gonna break out that we're not talking about preseas. I
- 30:39Speaker 5: understand that it happens for every team, but right now
- 30:45Speaker 5: everyone believes it's going to be Zachary A.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Branch.
- 30:47Speaker 5: I don't just because we haven't seen him for two
- 30:50Speaker 5: years out there usc Maybe it is maybe a change
- 30:53Speaker 5: of scenery for Branch. He's going to play with his brothers,
- 30:56Speaker 5: Zion Branch, who's also at Georgia. Like maybe the comfortability
- 30:59Speaker 5: fact Drill Hilp elevate his game.
- 31:01Speaker 4: We'll see. Now when you look at George's schedule, I
- 31:05Speaker 4: don't hate it.
- 31:06Speaker 5: I mean they open the season with Marshall at home
- 31:11Speaker 5: in August thirtieth.
- 31:12Speaker 4: That's a win.
- 31:12Speaker 5: You're gonna play Austin p the next week, that's a win.
- 31:15Speaker 5: You got two layups weeks one and two. Then you
- 31:18Speaker 5: go to Knoxville against Tennessee September thirteenth. We've talked a
- 31:22Speaker 5: lot about Tennessee. The other day I listed them as
- 31:24Speaker 5: probably my biggest disappointing team. It'll finish the season in
- 31:28Speaker 5: twenty twenty five less than what people think. But Knoxville
- 31:31Speaker 5: is still a tough place to play. You have to
- 31:33Speaker 5: go to Kneeland Stadium. That defense is still going to
- 31:35Speaker 5: be really good, house gunners stocked and going to perform
- 31:37Speaker 5: in that environment. Georgia probably gets that win just because
- 31:41Speaker 5: I trust Kirby smart have a heck of a lot
- 31:43Speaker 5: more than I do Josh Heipel. But that's not an
- 31:45Speaker 5: easy game. So you start with two easy ones. Then
- 31:47Speaker 5: you have Tennessee. You have Alabama at home. I think
- 31:51Speaker 5: there's question marks around them. We'll get to Alabama here
- 31:54Speaker 5: in a second. So let's say you go three and one.
- 31:58Speaker 5: You lose to either Tennessee or la Obama. You take
- 32:00Speaker 5: care of business in the first two games. Kentucky, that's
- 32:03Speaker 5: a win. I think they're gonna be terrible. You have
- 32:05Speaker 5: to go to Auburn. I think they're gonna be better
- 32:07Speaker 5: than they were a year ago. But that's a win.
- 32:09Speaker 5: You're sitting at five and one Ole miss at home.
- 32:13Speaker 5: I think you win that game. You're six and one
- 32:17Speaker 5: at this point playing Florida in Jacksonville. That's gonna be
- 32:21Speaker 5: a tough game. That's a toss up game for me.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Even if you lose that game, you win with Mississippi State,
- 32:26Speaker 5: that's a win that puts you at seven too. Now
- 32:29Speaker 5: Texas comes to Athens. That's the game that's gonna define
- 32:34Speaker 5: because if Georgia has two losses bout that point, they
- 32:36Speaker 5: have to beat Texas to get into the playoff. If
- 32:38Speaker 5: they only have one and they beat Florida, you can
- 32:42Speaker 5: lose this game, no sweats, still hopefully make the playoffs,
- 32:46Speaker 5: and then you close the season Charlotte Georgia Tech. There's
- 32:50Speaker 5: some tough games on the back end, but you start
- 32:52Speaker 5: with two easy ones Marshall and Austin p and then
- 32:55Speaker 5: there's a little wiggle room in there as well.
- 32:58Speaker 4: As far as Texas goes the schedules.
- 33:01Speaker 5: A hole is not that bad, but you may have
- 33:04Speaker 5: the toughest opening game out of anybody in the SEC,
- 33:07Speaker 5: maybe outside of LSU. You have to go to Columbus
- 33:09Speaker 5: Ohio on the road and play Ohio State week one
- 33:12Speaker 5: of the season. I have said time and time again,
- 33:15Speaker 5: I'm gonna continue to say it. I think Ohio State
- 33:16Speaker 5: wins a game. I think Texas starts the season oh
- 33:19Speaker 5: and one. Not necessarily say you know, arch Manion is
- 33:22Speaker 5: going to be a disaster on the road. I think
- 33:23Speaker 5: Julian Sayan is gonna be really good. He has a
- 33:25Speaker 5: lot of weapons to throw to that defense for Ohio
- 33:28Speaker 5: State's still gonna be good. And it's so hard to
- 33:30Speaker 5: win in Columbus, especially when like it's your first start
- 33:34Speaker 5: knowing you're the guy, it's your first a big time start,
- 33:36Speaker 5: like Arch May two starts a year ago.
- 33:38Speaker 4: They weren't elite teams.
- 33:42Speaker 5: I think Texas loses that game, but San Jose State, UTEP,
- 33:45Speaker 5: SAM Houston All wins. You're three to one going to
- 33:48Speaker 5: the Swamp. Take care of that. You're four and one
- 33:54Speaker 5: heading into the Red River rivalry. I think you're a
- 33:57Speaker 5: better team than Oklahoma. See but if you get that,
- 34:00Speaker 5: you're five and one, then you got Kentucky, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt.
- 34:05Speaker 5: I mean, you you're winning all three of those. You
- 34:07Speaker 5: have to play Georgia late in the season. Again, even
- 34:09Speaker 5: if you lose that, you finish with Arkansas and Texas
- 34:11Speaker 5: A and M. I think you're better than both of
- 34:13Speaker 5: those teams.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I don't.
- 34:15Speaker 5: I don't hate Texas's schedule, same with Alabama. Like you
- 34:20Speaker 5: open with Florida State. It's tough on paper, but Florida
- 34:22Speaker 5: State was awful a year ago. I don't know they're
- 34:25Speaker 5: gonna have to be significantly better to win that game
- 34:27Speaker 5: that what is in Tallahassee. But I think the Crimson
- 34:30Speaker 5: Tide win that you'll beat ULM. I think you beat
- 34:33Speaker 5: Wisconsin at home. George is a tough one, but then
- 34:36Speaker 5: you have Vandy Missouri. How good are they going to be? Tennessee?
- 34:39Speaker 5: But then South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, like Alabama by far,
- 34:43Speaker 5: out of the East three, in my opinion, has the
- 34:45Speaker 5: toughest schedule. You're playing Georgia on the road, and then
- 34:50Speaker 5: you're you're sectioned there with with three really tough teams,
- 34:54Speaker 5: South Carolina and LSUB and two of them that's tough
- 34:58Speaker 5: with Texas. Look, arch Manning first years is a starting quarterback.
- 35:01Speaker 4: That's tough.
- 35:02Speaker 5: You lose gunner Helm Isaiah Bond, Matthew Golden, those are
- 35:05Speaker 5: your top three receivers from a year ago. You did
- 35:07Speaker 5: a good job in recruiting Kalik Lockett five star freshmen,
- 35:10Speaker 5: Jamie Frinch five star freshmen. Both of those guys this
- 35:13Speaker 5: staff here and Baton Rudge wanted badly. They choose the
- 35:15Speaker 5: Texas Longhorns. Those guys could emerge. Could We'll have to
- 35:19Speaker 5: see it now. Quinn Travian Wise, they're they're running back.
- 35:23Speaker 5: He's a stud. Love what I saw from him a
- 35:25Speaker 5: year ago, but you lose a little bit of depth
- 35:27Speaker 5: in that room as well. Jayden Blue, he plays for
- 35:29Speaker 5: the Cowboys now. He was solid for you a year ago.
- 35:33Speaker 5: I think Archie is going to be a good quarterback.
- 35:35Speaker 5: I think he's talented enough, but he's stepping in ersyear.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Is the full time starter, losing a lot of weapons,
- 35:41Speaker 5: and you have to play Ohio State on the road
- 35:43Speaker 5: week one. I think it's a tough ass to hat
- 35:45Speaker 5: ask them to win that game. But the next three
- 35:48Speaker 5: after that you should win comfortably for Alabama. I still
- 35:53Speaker 5: got to get there with him. Ty Simpson was unable
- 35:57Speaker 5: to beat out Jaylen Milroe for three years, and I
- 36:00Speaker 5: personally did not think Jaylan Milroy was a very good quarterback.
- 36:02Speaker 5: I think it was a very good runner. I think
- 36:03Speaker 5: he struggled mightily in the passing game. And we saw
- 36:07Speaker 5: Ty Sampson a little bit two years ago against South
- 36:09Speaker 5: Florida when they pulled Milroe. It wasn't pretty and he
- 36:12Speaker 5: really hasn't played much since then. Stud wide receiver in
- 36:17Speaker 5: Ryan Williams. Outside of him, there's a little bit of
- 36:19Speaker 5: a question mark. Jam Miller's in the backfield, but he's
- 36:23Speaker 5: a good sez back. He hasn't shown the ability yet
- 36:26Speaker 5: to be elite. Maybe he does, but that's not an
- 36:29Speaker 5: elite Alabama weapon like you're.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Used to seeing. Look, there's a lot of question marks
- 36:34Speaker 4: around all these teams.
- 36:35Speaker 5: And I'm not sitting here saying LSU is some juggernaut,
- 36:38Speaker 5: but having an elite, proven talent at the quarterback position
- 36:42Speaker 5: gives you an incredible advantage every single week.
- 36:46Speaker 4: Now, well LHU win the SEC.
- 36:47Speaker 5: I'm not gonna sit here and say, yeah, it's like maybe,
- 36:49Speaker 5: maybe not, who knows at this point, but what they
- 36:51Speaker 5: did do they did a great job of filling their
- 36:53Speaker 5: needs in the offseason. O line is a huge question mark,
- 36:57Speaker 5: there's no question about. But you got a lot better
- 37:00Speaker 5: better at receiver. You got way better at dB like
- 37:02Speaker 5: AJ Halsey and Tamarcus Cooley were two big time pickups
- 37:06Speaker 5: at the safety position. You brought in DJ pick at
- 37:09Speaker 5: the number one corner in America, as well as two
- 37:12Speaker 5: transfers Jackson and man tour Delane. I think you're a
- 37:16Speaker 5: lot deeper depth wise on the defensive line. Now we'll
- 37:20Speaker 5: see you know who overperform who underperforms on that line,
- 37:24Speaker 5: but at least body wise, you're a lot deeper than
- 37:26Speaker 5: you were a year ago. And I think you're really
- 37:28Speaker 5: good at lineback. I mean, linebacker is a position on
- 37:30Speaker 5: this team we don't talk about enough. You have Weeks,
- 37:33Speaker 5: you have West Weeks, who's done some solid things. I
- 37:35Speaker 5: von Keyes looked like a stud at the end of
- 37:37Speaker 5: the year. I think he's going to slide in there,
- 37:39Speaker 5: and you have some talented young guys behind him, including
- 37:42Speaker 5: the third Weeks brother, Zach Weeks.
- 37:44Speaker 4: I think you're good at linebacker.
- 37:46Speaker 5: Like outside of offensive line, to me, there's not a
- 37:49Speaker 5: ton of question marks. Even at the running back position.
- 37:52Speaker 5: You have Durham. Now you lose Josh Williams, Caleb Jackson's back.
- 37:56Speaker 5: You had at Harlem Berry the number one running back
- 37:58Speaker 5: in the country.
- 37:58Speaker 2: J T.
- 37:59Speaker 5: Lindsay was a recruit as well. People kind of forget
- 38:01Speaker 5: about him. That's four really really talented running backs. Three
- 38:06Speaker 5: of them can all spell Caden Durham who. I think it's
- 38:08Speaker 5: gonna get a lot better this year. Not saying LSHU
- 38:11Speaker 5: is gonna win the SEC. I'm not saying that Texas,
- 38:13Speaker 5: Alabama and Georgia are gonna be disasters, because I think
- 38:15Speaker 5: the litill have good seasons, but those question marks against
- 38:19Speaker 5: around all of these teams, including LSU. We'll see which
- 38:22Speaker 5: team advances coming up this upcoming season. All Right, we're
- 38:25Speaker 5: going to take a quick time out when we get
- 38:27Speaker 5: back UFC three eighteen out there in New Orleans.
- 38:30Speaker 4: It was a classic, a heck of a fight.
- 38:32Speaker 5: We'll breaking it down next to close out our number
- 38:34Speaker 5: one here on off the bench.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Thing that I am most excited about seeing in the
- 38:39Speaker 2: office is our brand new interactive whiteboard thanks to Gulf
- 38:44Speaker 2: Coast Office Products. I cannot wait to break it down,
- 38:47Speaker 2: watch a little tape, watch a little film, and we
- 38:49Speaker 2: cannot thank them enough for donating that to us. Very
- 38:52Speaker 2: excited for that. But there's so many different things that
- 38:55Speaker 2: Gulf Coast Office products can do for you. I mean
- 38:57Speaker 2: we always talk about it. I mean the number one
- 39:00Speaker 2: in the print game, it's not even close. Leader in
- 39:02Speaker 2: the state of Louisiana. You're gonna get a human being
- 39:04Speaker 2: as well, Matt and I know, look at you've got
- 39:06Speaker 2: a business. Do you deal with this all the time.

- 39:11Speaker 2: different machines you have. With gcop that is just another
- 39:16Speaker 2: luxury when you partner with them gcop net dot Com.

- 39:30Speaker 6: is absolutely top knot. Why not choose Golf Coast Office products.
- 39:35Speaker 6: Go see how they can help you. Gcop net dot Com.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven, Shamps Purple and Gold to the core.
- 39:48Speaker 1: This is off the bench with Hester and Flynn, Matt
- 39:51Speaker 1: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Yes, well it's not off the bench Hester and Flynn today.
- 40:01Speaker 5: They are both out there. We'll be back tomorrow. Table
- 40:03Speaker 5: Sharp sitting in the host chair for the next a
- 40:06Speaker 5: little bit over two hours right now, hanging out with
- 40:09Speaker 5: you here on this Monday morning. We got a Lada
- 40:11Speaker 5: Villa Reale and Paul O'Neill here as well. Okay, the
- 40:15Speaker 5: big event of the weekend on Saturday night UFC three
- 40:19Speaker 5: eighteen out there in New Orleans. Look, it was the
- 40:23Speaker 5: final fight for Dustin Pourier. He comes back to his
- 40:25Speaker 5: home state, and my goodness, did they put on a
- 40:28Speaker 5: heck of a show him Max Holloway. I mean, just
- 40:31Speaker 5: beating the crap out of each other. It goes to
- 40:34Speaker 5: the full distance. Ultimately, Max Holloway, not Dustin Pourier, does
- 40:38Speaker 5: get the victory by unanimous decision. We were both kind
- 40:42Speaker 5: of wrong show on Friday. I picked unanimous decision by
- 40:46Speaker 5: Dustin Poorier. So what the hell do I know? But
- 40:49Speaker 5: excellent fight all the way around. I mean, the two
- 40:51Speaker 5: guys beat each other up. Alandra, you were actually in
- 40:55Speaker 5: attendance at this fight. So we'll set the scene in
- 40:59Speaker 5: just a second. But right now, was it the right choice?
- 41:01Speaker 5: Should Holloway have won this fight?
- 41:03Speaker 4: Actually?
- 41:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I know I sent like that text in the
- 41:06Speaker 3: group chat, but I was just joking. And also whenever
- 41:10Speaker 3: we were talking about it, I was like, I want
- 41:12Speaker 3: Dustin to win, but also I didn't really give a
- 41:15Speaker 3: pig because I kind of figured it.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Was like I said it himself, right, Like yeah were
- 41:19Speaker 5: saying he was like, oh three times, it's almost impossible
- 41:21Speaker 5: against this guy.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so he had already beat him twice.
- 41:24Speaker 4: It is hard.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I mean they're both really good fighters, and yeah, I
- 41:28Speaker 3: think it was the right decision. I Max looked better
- 41:32Speaker 3: than him in almost every single round, so it it was. Yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 3: it sucked that he didn't win, but despite that, the
- 41:44Speaker 3: sendoff was great. Yeah, Like the vibes were so high
- 41:47Speaker 3: at the Smoothie King Center. I was getting chills, like
- 41:50Speaker 3: the entire time I was there. That kept playing like
- 41:53Speaker 3: these video montages of him and like his career in
- 41:57Speaker 3: the UFC and his friend and families sending him like
- 42:01Speaker 3: video messages and stuff, and then everybody would just be
- 42:05Speaker 3: like cheering super loud. The vibes were super high inside
- 42:08Speaker 3: the Smoothe King Center. So even though he lost, it
- 42:11Speaker 3: was still a great way for him to go out.
- 42:13Speaker 3: His last two fights just really solidified him, even though
- 42:17Speaker 3: he did lose the last two, like it just really
- 42:20Speaker 3: solidified him as a great a great fighter, and he
- 42:25Speaker 3: had a great career in the UFC, So great send
- 42:28Speaker 3: off for him, and it was also a really good
- 42:32Speaker 3: way to end his career too, like fighting Max Holloway.
- 42:36Speaker 5: We we talked about it Friday, right, like a lot
- 42:37Speaker 5: of a lot of these fighters like they'll have their
- 42:39Speaker 5: big fight and then their last two or three fights,
- 42:41Speaker 5: you know, they'll they'll fight up middle tier, lower tier
- 42:43Speaker 5: UFC fighter like were we were giving credit the dust
- 42:46Speaker 5: and on Friday, like, hey, you're not going out quietly,
- 42:48Speaker 5: like you're fighting a guy who's a legit fighter. And
- 42:51Speaker 5: then you know in terms of like because there's so
- 42:53Speaker 5: many people like, oh, do'st the port was robbed? Like
- 42:55Speaker 5: I agree with you, probably.
- 42:55Speaker 4: What he catched.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think it was actually that close.
- 43:00Speaker 5: It's one of those fights though that like you could
- 43:02Speaker 5: watch three different times and see something you missed the
- 43:04Speaker 5: time before, Like it went the full distance, Like there
- 43:08Speaker 5: was so much time in the octagon. There were so
- 43:09Speaker 5: many things that were occurring, Like there was one round
- 43:12Speaker 5: I think it was the second where I'm like, oh,
- 43:14Speaker 5: Portia is about to finish him, and then I'm like yeah, always.
- 43:17Speaker 3: And then he jumped the gilly like oh my.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Gosh, she like they almost finished each other.
- 43:21Speaker 3: My guy lives and yeah, my guy lives and dies
- 43:24Speaker 3: by the gilly.
- 43:24Speaker 5: But set me, set set the scene force. What was
- 43:27Speaker 5: the overall this was your first UFC fight. Yeah, it
- 43:30Speaker 5: was vies.
- 43:31Speaker 3: The vibes were so high and this was so I
- 43:35Speaker 3: was telling y'all like, I don't know where they put
- 43:38Speaker 3: the media for UFC fights.
- 43:39Speaker 4: I could be anywhere. Yeah yeah.
- 43:41Speaker 3: And then I go up so the girl whenever she
- 43:43Speaker 3: gives me my credential, she was like, okay, just go
- 43:45Speaker 3: up there and you can go to the press ledge.
- 43:47Speaker 3: So I was like, okay, I'm gonna be like in
- 43:48Speaker 3: the press box whatever. So then I go up there
- 43:52Speaker 3: and the stuff that's like all my credential isn't anywhere
- 43:55Speaker 3: to be found, to be found.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Like where you're, where you're where I'm at.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know why, just like so little more work.
- 44:00Speaker 3: So I asked for help and they were like, oh,
- 44:02Speaker 3: you're on the floor, and I was like, shut your mouth.
- 44:04Speaker 3: And then I go down there and it was freaking awesome,
- 44:08Speaker 3: Like I could even the prelims. So I got there
- 44:11Speaker 3: like when the prelim started and it was just great,
- 44:16Speaker 3: Like I can see they're sweat flying off of each
- 44:19Speaker 3: other when they were getting hit, and like I said,
- 44:22Speaker 3: everybody was there to support Dustin and like a Louisiana
- 44:27Speaker 3: boy ending his career in his home state, and you know,
- 44:31Speaker 3: people in Louisiana, just like everywhere else, love Louisiana. So
- 44:35Speaker 3: it was it was awesome and it was probably one
- 44:38Speaker 3: of like the best experience. So I think, are you
- 44:41Speaker 3: playing it right now, Paul. There's a video Paul's playing
- 44:44Speaker 3: right now of Dustin like when he's leaving. I took
- 44:46Speaker 3: that video, like that's how close to him and like
- 44:49Speaker 3: all the action that I was. So it was awesome
- 44:52Speaker 3: and a great experience. And I think that in Omaha
- 44:55Speaker 3: are like in my top two life experiences ever.
- 45:00Speaker 5: Like I imagine, like, okay, people say this about hockey,
- 45:02Speaker 5: and it's true, Like the TV viewing to in person
- 45:06Speaker 5: viewing is such a drastic change. I imagine UFC's that
- 45:10Speaker 5: times ten. Like, yeah, watching UFCLTV great, Like it's entertaining.
- 45:13Speaker 5: You can sit there on your couch and cheer and everything.
- 45:15Speaker 5: Being there in person, like you're hearing the walkout, you're
- 45:17Speaker 5: seeing the atmosphere.
- 45:19Speaker 4: The lights and everything like that.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Like I imagine that's gotta be one of the biggest
- 45:22Speaker 5: differences between like watching on TV and being there in person,
- 45:26Speaker 5: and like, you know, the send off for Dustin Poorier though,
- 45:29Speaker 5: is kind of where I want to focus right here
- 45:31Speaker 5: with the last minute before we go to break, Like
- 45:33Speaker 5: I don't know if anybody out there listening, like saw
- 45:35Speaker 5: these videos, like Max holloway Son went up to dust
- 45:38Speaker 5: and Poia to fight, taking pictures with him, congratulate him
- 45:41Speaker 5: on a career.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Like holloway was waiting for Poorier.
- 45:44Speaker 5: Outside of his dresser room when he came out, He's like, dude,
- 45:45Speaker 5: how they hell did we not win Fight of the night,
- 45:47Speaker 5: Like we almost finished each other in the second round,
- 45:49Speaker 5: and they're chatting about the Fight of the Night over us,
- 45:52Speaker 5: Like you could tell that there's mutual respect between these
- 45:55Speaker 5: two guys.
- 45:55Speaker 4: Like to your point, yes'.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Like in a perfect world, the result the fight is different,
- 46:01Speaker 5: but it doesn't matter.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Yeah, in the end of it, it doesn't matter.
- 46:04Speaker 5: This doesn't taint the resume or the reputation of Dustin Pourier.
- 46:08Speaker 4: He's done enough up to this point.
- 46:10Speaker 5: It doesn't elevate Max holloway He's done enough to this
- 46:13Speaker 5: point anyways. Like both of these guys were so established
- 46:16Speaker 5: that like this was a fight to put on a
- 46:18Speaker 5: show and New Orleans showed up. It showed out by
- 46:20Speaker 5: the way highest gate, highest number of money at the
- 46:24Speaker 5: gate ever in the history of the Smoothie King Center,
- 46:26Speaker 5: regardless of event. Concert Pelicans game is not going to
- 46:29Speaker 5: be in that number. Let's point that out right now.
- 46:31Speaker 5: But anything that was the highest total gait of any
- 46:35Speaker 5: event in the Smoothe King Center. Like, you know, we
- 46:37Speaker 5: talk about it all the time. Hey, it's great that
- 46:39Speaker 5: they're doing this, but they do enough to bring other
- 46:42Speaker 5: fights in the future.
- 46:42Speaker 4: I think they did. All right, that's going to do
- 46:44Speaker 4: it for our number one of off the Bench, We're

- 46:58Speaker 2: switched to the phone and we got to work.
