- 0:36SPEAKER_09: Oh, high school, okay.
- 0:38SPEAKER_09: So you didn't have the little kids.
- 0:39SPEAKER_05: No.
- 0:40SPEAKER_09: Alright, I've established what I'm gonna do.
- 0:43SPEAKER_09: Next year.
- 0:44SPEAKER_09: Big dude flap.
- 0:45SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 0:46SPEAKER_09: Next year I'm gonna look at a calendar.
- 0:49SPEAKER_09: Uh and I'm gonna find out where all the full moons are.
- 0:52SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 0:52SPEAKER_09: And I'm gonna take a personal day.
- 0:55SPEAKER_09: On every full moon.
- 0:56SPEAKER_05: How many personal days do you get?
- 0:58SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 0:58SPEAKER_09: Like three.
- 0:59SPEAKER_09: But still.
- 0:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you're gonna run out of the way.
- 1:01SPEAKER_09: I'll just call him stick on the other days.
- 1:03SPEAKER_09: I'm telling you.
- 1:05SPEAKER_09: Because I teach pre-K through second.
- 1:09SPEAKER_09: And the past two days have been just ridiculous.
- 1:15SPEAKER_09: That's the only word I can think.
- 1:17SPEAKER_09: Ridiculous.
- 1:18SPEAKER_09: They're behaving.
- 1:18SPEAKER_05: Well, I don't know, because I like I said, I was Yeah.
- 1:21SPEAKER_09: I mean, it was the only that's the only thing I can attribute it to is that we had a f we well, we had a lunar eclipse, right?
- 1:28SPEAKER_05: That was this morning, yeah.
- 1:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:30SPEAKER_09: Uh and a full moon like within the past couple days.
- 1:33SPEAKER_05: Well, that's full moons tonight.
- 1:34SPEAKER_09: So well, maybe that's it.
- 1:35SPEAKER_09: Maybe that's all I don't know.
- 1:38SPEAKER_09: Lunar eclipse was coming, full moon was coming.
- 1:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:40SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 1:41SPEAKER_09: Hopefully everything will be better.
- 1:42SPEAKER_09: Everybody's crazy.
- 1:43SPEAKER_09: Better tomorrow.
- 1:44SPEAKER_09: Uh hey, how's it going?
- 1:45SPEAKER_09: Good.
- 1:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah, time no see, man.
- 1:47SPEAKER_09: I know, right?
- 1:48SPEAKER_09: So yeah, we took last week off.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: Um I was supposed to tell everybody and I forgot.
- 1:53SPEAKER_09: That's well, nobody missed us.
- 1:55SPEAKER_09: No.
- 1:55SPEAKER_09: Although it said we had 137 downloads.
- 1:58SPEAKER_05: Well, they're probably like, thank God, now we can get some back episodes in without these two idiots clamoring on.
- 2:04SPEAKER_09: I still think those are typos.
- 2:06SPEAKER_09: I really do.
- 2:06SPEAKER_05: Something, I don't know.
- 2:07SPEAKER_05: It's gotta be people just like going through the back catalog.
- 2:11SPEAKER_09: I no, I think it's a typo.
- 2:12SPEAKER_09: I think we maybe had 13 and a seven got added.
- 2:16SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 2:17SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 2:17SPEAKER_09: Anyway, um, so yeah, this is um I don't even know what episode this is.
- 2:21SPEAKER_09: 280, I think.
- 2:22SPEAKER_09: Is it 280?
- 2:23SPEAKER_09: I think.
- 2:24SPEAKER_09: Um I take I think you're right.
- 2:26SPEAKER_09: I think it is 280.
- 2:28SPEAKER_09: Umbers and stuff.
- 2:31SPEAKER_09: So we uh Well, why did we take you had you had some meetings last week.
- 2:38SPEAKER_09: Meetings three days, and you didn't know what how long they were gonna last, yeah, what time it was.
- 2:43SPEAKER_05: Well, it's a good thing because they they went they went late, fairly late.
- 2:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: Well, not lately, but you know late enough.
- 2:49SPEAKER_05: Late enough, so it would have been not feasible to show up.
- 2:53SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:53SPEAKER_09: So so we yeah, we did mean to put something on the Facebook page to say that we were going to I totally forgot take the week off.
- 3:02SPEAKER_09: But um, but you know, we're here now.
- 3:05SPEAKER_09: We're back, we're back.
- 3:07SPEAKER_09: Um nothing to talk about.
- 3:10SPEAKER_09: All right, good show.
- 3:13SPEAKER_09: The shortest ever O'Brien and Doug podcast.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: We came, we saw, we kicked its butt.
- 3:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:20SPEAKER_09: Uh so seriously, what uh what's been going on in the past uh week and a half?
- 3:25SPEAKER_09: Well, we had a gig.
- 3:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:27SPEAKER_09: We had a gig down at Big Rock.
- 3:29SPEAKER_09: Um pretty good gig, I think.
- 3:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:32SPEAKER_09: Um I think it was well, it started out slow because I think they had the times wrong.
- 3:37SPEAKER_09: I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
- 3:38SPEAKER_09: I don't think it's I don't think so.
- 3:39SPEAKER_05: I think it's just I think that's just when everybody shows up.
- 3:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 3:43SPEAKER_09: So um uh but I prefer that time slot anyway.
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it was way better than the original one.
- 3:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:50SPEAKER_05: To be honest with you.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: I'm glad it was a typo, and then you said yeah, he he asked if we wanted the six to nine next time.
- 3:58SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:58SPEAKER_09: And I said yes.
- 3:59SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 4:00SPEAKER_09: Yes, so we're gonna do the same thing.
- 4:01SPEAKER_09: We're old, man.
- 4:02SPEAKER_05: I mean I know you get to be, you know, you play for three hours by the by the end of three hours.
- 4:09SPEAKER_09: And and just like uh and I noticed somebody said it uh when we were tearing down.
- 4:15SPEAKER_09: I think it was uh I think it was the ladies in the corner where I heard overheard them say, they didn't even stop.
- 4:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:25SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we didn't take a break.
- 4:26SPEAKER_05: Well that that I think that's why I don't feel bad.
- 4:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah, no, yeah.
- 4:31SPEAKER_05: Because we we don't break.
- 4:32SPEAKER_05: We don't we don't we play three hours.
- 4:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, which is a lot.
- 4:36SPEAKER_05: That's a lot of songs, man.
- 4:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I I don't think people really realize I mean, oh yeah, you're just sitting there playing songs.
- 4:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, it's it's not easy, homeboy.
- 4:44SPEAKER_09: And in the la well, I mean, in the last hour, every time, almost every time, in the last hour, I start to lose my high end.
- 4:49SPEAKER_09: Yeah, my top end of my voice.
- 4:50SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 4:51SPEAKER_09: And so it's very hard for me to harmonize anymore.
- 4:53SPEAKER_09: But I probably should, well, probably shouldn't do it that way.
- 4:56SPEAKER_09: But it just it, you know.
- 4:57SPEAKER_05: Well, it's just easier, man.
- 4:59SPEAKER_05: Cause it because it's actually unless you absolutely need it.
- 5:02SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 5:03SPEAKER_05: And we have.
- 5:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and we've done it, but it's hard to come back.
- 5:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: Even if you take like 10 minutes off, you're like, oh fuck.
- 5:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah, do we have to do this?
- 5:12SPEAKER_05: Go through this again.
- 5:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:13SPEAKER_05: And these people aren't even listening.
- 5:14SPEAKER_05: I mean, uh.
- 5:15SPEAKER_09: So we just keep going.
- 5:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_09: We just keep going.
- 5:17SPEAKER_05: Might as well just go till we drop.
- 5:19SPEAKER_09: Uh yeah.
- 5:19SPEAKER_05: That way, if we wanted to like say we had to we wanted to cut out 15 minutes early, yeah, they can't really say much because we didn't get a break.
- 5:28SPEAKER_05: We didn't take a break, so why can't we take our break at the end?
- 5:31SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 5:32SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's a crappy thing to do, but yeah.
- 5:34SPEAKER_09: And we've never done that.
- 5:35SPEAKER_09: No.
- 5:35SPEAKER_09: Yeah, to be to be honest.
- 5:36SPEAKER_09: But we did say uh we we we sang our last song, and then um, I don't know if you've heard it, or but they started going, Bra, yeah, bra, yeah, brah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: I didn't say that.
- 5:47SPEAKER_09: Because it's a bunch of like a bunch of people that I work with, and some some of them were were parents of of kids that my kids go to school with, and they all know me.
- 5:57SPEAKER_09: Uh, but they started shouting my name and then said, Encore, one more, encore, one more.
- 6:02SPEAKER_09: And then Brent Grass, I lock eyes with Brent Grass, and he's like, We want one more song.
- 6:08SPEAKER_05: And I said, Um, no.
- 6:10SPEAKER_05: Well, I heard you say that.
- 6:11SPEAKER_05: I didn't know what else was going on.
- 6:12SPEAKER_09: He probably thought I was a jerk, but I I you know, I was just like, No, we're not we're not gonna do one more.
- 6:18SPEAKER_05: We're done, man.
- 6:18SPEAKER_05: If you want to if you want to hear one song, show up at a D not at you know, yeah if we're playing six to nine, you show up at eight.
- 6:25SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 6:25SPEAKER_05: That's on you, bruh.
- 6:26SPEAKER_05: You missed two hours.
- 6:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:28SPEAKER_05: We played lots of songs in two hours.
- 6:30SPEAKER_09: Yes, we did.
- 6:31SPEAKER_05: So I don't I don't feel bad.
- 6:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah, no, I don't I don't either.
- 6:34SPEAKER_05: Um I mean I think back in the day I would have.
- 6:38SPEAKER_09: Oh, I gotta show you.
- 6:40SPEAKER_09: Remind me.
- 6:42SPEAKER_09: Um no, I can show you right here.
- 6:45SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 6:46SPEAKER_09: I can show you right here.
- 6:47SPEAKER_09: Uh, I think I can.
- 6:48SPEAKER_09: I think I can.
- 6:48SPEAKER_09: I think I can.
- 6:49SPEAKER_09: I think I can.
- 6:50SPEAKER_04: I think I can.
- 6:50SPEAKER_09: I think I can.
- 6:51SPEAKER_09: Did I put it?
- 6:52SPEAKER_09: Did I put it on my yes, I think I put it on my account.
- 6:55SPEAKER_09: So let's go to my channel.
- 6:56SPEAKER_09: I made something because remember last uh Saturday night when we played, I shot some video.
- 7:01SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:02SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:02SPEAKER_05: Uh it must have worked because we got the gig.
- 7:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we did.
- 7:06SPEAKER_09: Uh I um I will say I really regret that um uh you're really not in the video very much.
- 7:18SPEAKER_09: That doesn't bother me.
- 7:19SPEAKER_09: The angle is not uh very let me see.
- 7:22SPEAKER_09: Where where do I go to see my videos?
- 7:26SPEAKER_05: Even if they're just type in my videos.
- 7:29SPEAKER_09: Well no, it's it's it's um this I'm viewing my channel.
- 7:33SPEAKER_09: Oh, YouTube Studio, there we go.
- 7:36SPEAKER_09: Um I have to sneeze.
- 7:40SPEAKER_09: That's what I'm uh yeah, that's good.
- 7:42SPEAKER_09: That's good.
- 7:43SPEAKER_09: Alright, where is it?
- 7:45SPEAKER_09: Where is it?
- 7:46SPEAKER_09: The video, the content, the content, how about that?
- 7:49SPEAKER_09: There it is.
- 7:50SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 7:51SPEAKER_09: So originally I had made a um four-minute video.
- 7:59SPEAKER_09: I took a bunch of the songs that I had recorded uh and originally made it made a four-minute video and I showed it.
- 8:04SPEAKER_09: Of course, my family doesn't care.
- 8:06SPEAKER_09: They just oh that's good.
- 8:09SPEAKER_05: Um we can get so much support around here.
- 8:11SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 8:13SPEAKER_09: And what are you guys doing?
- 8:15SPEAKER_05: Playing songs?
- 8:16SPEAKER_05: That's great.
- 8:16SPEAKER_05: See you later.
- 8:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 8:17SPEAKER_09: I got to thinking, um, this might be too long.
- 8:20SPEAKER_09: I mean, I could cut here and cut here and make it two minutes.
- 8:23SPEAKER_09: And of course, you know, uh they stopped the conversation.
- 8:25SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's a good idea.
- 8:27SPEAKER_05: You should stop it at one minute.
- 8:30SPEAKER_05: 59 seconds.
- 8:31SPEAKER_09: It just might be uh so I made it two minutes, and I think it's I mean a pretty good representation of some of the stuff that we do.
- 8:39SPEAKER_09: I mean, I didn't put any cunt we do a little bit of country, but not much.
- 8:42SPEAKER_09: Um so let me just and I will tell you, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say anything, but remember there was a guy Saturday night when we were when we were singing.
- 8:54SPEAKER_09: He really wanted to be in our band.
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 8:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so he was playing, um, you know, tapping the table, playing the drums, and singing harmonies.
- 9:02SPEAKER_09: He was a good singer.
- 9:03SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:04SPEAKER_09: And you can tell in this first song, there's three-part harmony, and I I didn't I left it in, you know, so it makes it sound pretty good.
- 9:12SPEAKER_09: Uh all right.
- 9:13SPEAKER_09: Maybe that's why they heard us.
- 9:15SPEAKER_09: Uh maybe.
- 9:16SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 9:17SPEAKER_09: Uh all right, let me just play it.
- 9:19SPEAKER_09: Let's see.
- 9:20SPEAKER_09: Oh, fancy title.
- 9:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah, right.
- 9:23SPEAKER_09: Let's see.
- 9:24SPEAKER_09: I've got this turned up.
- 9:25SPEAKER_09: I want to make sure I got it in the right place.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: If you could only see the way she likes me, maybe you would understand.
- 9:34SPEAKER_09: And that sound good though.
- 9:35SPEAKER_09: I do.
- 9:43SPEAKER_05: We sound like a real band.
- 9:52SPEAKER_05: See that dark thing in the corner?
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: So this one at the end of this one is almost got this right.
- 10:51SPEAKER_09: We kind of got this right.
- 10:58SPEAKER_05: We're getting better at it every time.
- 11:11SPEAKER_09: So that's it's just a two-minute, you know.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: That's really professional looking.
- 11:15SPEAKER_09: Isn't it?
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: I like it.
- 11:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 11:18SPEAKER_09: So I I didn't post that anywhere because I mean obviously it's got cover songs on it, and we probably would get flagged.
- 11:23SPEAKER_09: Probably.
- 11:23SPEAKER_09: So I just I just put it as an unlisted video on my page and sent them the link to that.
- 11:29SPEAKER_09: Oh, okay.
- 11:30SPEAKER_09: So but yeah, we got the gig.
- 11:32SPEAKER_09: Um so um speaking of that, uh, we just we posted um our uh winter spring tour for the duo.
- 11:45SPEAKER_09: Oh, good.
- 11:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and I I told you everywhere.
- 11:47SPEAKER_09: I told you at at uh when we got this new gig.
- 11:51SPEAKER_09: So we're playing a couple different places, which is exciting to me.
- 11:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's nice.
- 11:54SPEAKER_09: Um and so we just got into this uh tavern uh down in Holton and we're gonna play there in May.
- 12:03SPEAKER_09: And uh that's the last one I'm gonna book because after after May.
- 12:09SPEAKER_05: Well, it's gonna be all syndicated gigs.
- 12:10SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: But you know we only have four gigs.
- 12:14SPEAKER_05: Four syndicate gigs?
- 12:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:16SPEAKER_05: We only have four.
- 12:17SPEAKER_09: We have uh Mapleton Days in June.
- 12:21SPEAKER_09: We have Potato Blossom, we have um Acadian Festival, and we have Mars Hill Homecoming in September.
- 12:28SPEAKER_09: Four gigs.
- 12:30SPEAKER_09: Which is odd because we usually have seven.
- 12:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:33SPEAKER_05: Well, I'm sure some more will pop up.
- 12:35SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 12:36SPEAKER_09: I'm not gonna complain.
- 12:37SPEAKER_09: I mean, uh I love playing with the syndicate, but you know, we play a lot.
- 12:42SPEAKER_09: Well, usually.
- 12:43SPEAKER_05: Well, maybe Skinny Elvis will get some gigs.
- 12:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, maybe.
- 12:46SPEAKER_05: So maybe.
- 12:48SPEAKER_09: Um so yeah.
- 12:49SPEAKER_09: So there's that.
- 12:50SPEAKER_09: Um, so uh that's posted on our Facebook page.
- 12:54SPEAKER_09: Not on our I put it, I should put it on our Facebook page too.
- 12:56SPEAKER_09: O'Brien and Doug.
- 12:58SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_09: Should post that too.
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: All seven people right into it.
- 13:03SPEAKER_05: Yay! It's O'Brien and Doug!
- 13:06SPEAKER_09: Uh let's see what's on tour! What else is going on?
- 13:09SPEAKER_05: We should do a live podcast sometime.
- 13:11SPEAKER_09: Well, I was talking about uh we should set up the f like the um live stream on YouTube or something.
- 13:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 13:19SPEAKER_09: And and as we're recording it, live stream it.
- 13:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:22SPEAKER_05: I think that would be fun.
- 13:23SPEAKER_09: Uh we'd have to clean up the place a little bit, but you know.
- 13:25SPEAKER_05: Well, we don't have to do it here.
- 13:27SPEAKER_09: Where would we do it?
- 13:28SPEAKER_05: Uh someplace with people.
- 13:32SPEAKER_09: Oh, you mean like a live in-person thing?
- 13:36SPEAKER_05: Like I got a skinny albus practice or a syndicate practice or you know, the Mai Thai.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: I'd like a poo-poo platter.
- 13:48SPEAKER_05: Hello.
- 13:50SPEAKER_05: Hey! Hey, drug guy! What's your favorite docking song?
- 13:57SPEAKER_05: Hey, F you!
- 14:01SPEAKER_09: So I'm just thinking about my family right now.
- 14:03SPEAKER_09: They just heard you yell, hey F you! They're probably like, oh, that's just uh what else happened in the past week?
- 14:13SPEAKER_09: Anything?
- 14:14SPEAKER_09: We had did we had a syndicate rehearsal, didn't we?
- 14:16SPEAKER_09: No, we didn't.
- 14:16SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 14:16SPEAKER_09: We didn't.
- 14:17SPEAKER_09: That was the week before.
- 14:18SPEAKER_09: That was the week before.
- 14:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 14:19SPEAKER_09: Um what what else happened?
- 14:23SPEAKER_09: Nothing, right?
- 14:24SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 14:25SPEAKER_09: Not really, no.
- 14:26SPEAKER_09: Teresa and and Myra went away for the weekend.
- 14:28SPEAKER_09: They went to travel basketball in Fairfield, and we had the gig on Saturday.
- 14:34SPEAKER_09: So yeah, nothing really um major happened.
- 14:38SPEAKER_09: So, yeah.
- 14:41SPEAKER_05: So should we live we lead very unexciting lives.
- 14:45SPEAKER_09: Unexciting is a good word.
- 14:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 14:47SPEAKER_05: So, I mean, it's just like you know, we should be cooler than we are.
- 14:54SPEAKER_05: Why why should we be well, I mean, you think about it.
- 14:59SPEAKER_05: We I mean we have all these bands, yeah.
- 15:02SPEAKER_05: We have a podcast, but yeah, we do nothing outside of those things.
- 15:10SPEAKER_09: Well, you this is interesting that you say that.
- 15:12SPEAKER_05: Because I I had actually had this conversation with a couple of John's students.
- 15:18SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 15:18SPEAKER_05: Because they were talking to Joel, yeah, and they were like, Doug, you were in the Marines?
- 15:24SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_05: You're in like four bands.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:29SPEAKER_05: You have a podcast?
- 15:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:31SPEAKER_05: You teach karate?
- 15:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:35SPEAKER_05: You're so cool.
- 15:36SPEAKER_05: I'm like, how do you guys know all this stuff?
- 15:39SPEAKER_05: Joel told us.
- 15:40SPEAKER_05: I was or Mr.
- 15:40SPEAKER_05: Hall.
- 15:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:41SPEAKER_05: I was like, oh, okay.
- 15:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:44SPEAKER_05: I don't know why I'm the topic of conversation, but whatever.
- 15:47SPEAKER_09: Well, it's interesting because um so Sunday um we wanted to take my grandson uh down to see you know Kevin Mallenfont, right?
- 15:59SPEAKER_05: Kevin's not your grandson.
- 16:00SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 16:00SPEAKER_09: It's Peter.
- 16:02SPEAKER_09: So Kevin and Wendy have not seen had not seen Peter yet.
- 16:05SPEAKER_09: Oh, okay.
- 16:06SPEAKER_09: So we we arranged to uh have a visit down at Kevin's.
- 16:10SPEAKER_09: So so Jude and Kristen and the baby and myself, of course Teresa was away, uh we're gonna go down to Kevin's.
- 16:18SPEAKER_09: And I was gonna go down in my car, uh, and Eli got his truck stuck in the driveway.
- 16:26SPEAKER_09: So we couldn't, you know, so he had to use my car to go to work.
- 16:29SPEAKER_09: Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 16:30SPEAKER_09: Anyway, I didn't want to go down with Judy and Kristen.
- 16:33SPEAKER_09: I wanted to because I like to be in control and I like to leave when I want to leave and you know, things like that.
- 16:39SPEAKER_09: And uh he started talking about how I got so I ended up going with him.
- 16:44SPEAKER_09: He said, Why don't you just go with us?
- 16:45SPEAKER_09: I was like, okay.
- 16:46SPEAKER_09: So I got in the passenger side.
- 16:48SPEAKER_09: And uh he said, When did you become such an introvert?
- 16:51SPEAKER_09: And I said, What do you mean?
- 16:53SPEAKER_09: He says, Well, you used to be so like a people person.
- 16:56SPEAKER_09: You used to, you know, go out, you look forward to going out and and this and that.
- 17:01SPEAKER_09: And and I said, Well, you know, and and and Kevin is that way too.
- 17:05SPEAKER_09: He's he's very you know, stay at home, doesn't have to go out and you were just talking about how we uh really don't do anything outside of these things.
- 17:16SPEAKER_05: Well, it's the one immutable fact is that people suck and we don't want to be our own around.
- 17:21SPEAKER_09: Well, here's the thing, I I said I thought about it for a second, and he because he asked, he says, when did you become so introverted?
- 17:28SPEAKER_09: And the only thing that I can attribute it to, and it probably doesn't apply to you, uh, but when I started teaching, and I say that because uh for me anyway, not necessarily for other teachers, but maybe it is, I don't know.
- 17:46SPEAKER_09: For me, I am when I'm teaching, it's a performance.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: Well you gotta you you gotta make it like a performance.
- 17:54SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 17:54SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_09: So I I'm on all the time.
- 17:58SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 17:58SPEAKER_09: Right?
- 17:59SPEAKER_09: Especially with the little kids.
- 18:00SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
- 18:00SPEAKER_09: I'm on all the time.
- 18:02SPEAKER_09: And it's exhausting.
- 18:04SPEAKER_09: When I get home, my wife will tell you, like today, I got home.
- 18:09SPEAKER_09: Of course, the last two days have been rough because like I said in the beginning.
- 18:12SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 18:13SPEAKER_09: Um I I took a nap after I got home.
- 18:17SPEAKER_09: Um because it takes a lot out of me.
- 18:19SPEAKER_09: And then so it's like, we're gonna go and uh do this with these, you know.
- 18:23SPEAKER_09: I don't wanna go.
- 18:25SPEAKER_09: I just wanna I don't want to be around people anymore.
- 18:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's true.
- 18:30SPEAKER_09: I mean it and that's the it's nothing personal, I just I didn't used to be like that.
- 18:34SPEAKER_05: No, I didn't really know.
- 18:36SPEAKER_09: But I think I when I started teaching is when when I started to to kind of pull back uh a little bit.
- 18:42SPEAKER_09: Um but I was and then I was talking to uh Pat and he was telling me, because he's trying to get Kevin out and doing stuff.
- 18:50SPEAKER_09: And I said, Well, I'm the same as Kevin.
- 18:52SPEAKER_09: He says, No, you're not.
- 18:54SPEAKER_09: He says, You you may you may, you know, kind of do your own thing at home or whatever.
- 18:59SPEAKER_09: He says, But you go to basketball games for your kids, which is true.
- 19:03SPEAKER_09: You know, you guys play out, yeah.
- 19:05SPEAKER_09: We do play out, but those are the the only social situations that I kinda do.
- 19:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you know, that's not the only ones.
- 19:13SPEAKER_09: Um and I'm okay in social situations.
- 19:16SPEAKER_09: I just lately have been choosing not to.
- 19:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 19:20SPEAKER_09: Um and and yeah, it's because teaching is exhausting to me.
- 19:26SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 19:27SPEAKER_09: Plus I'm on, like I said, I'm on all the time for the little kids, but then you gotta go, I got me in the middle school and the high school.
- 19:34SPEAKER_09: And it's a different kind of vibe.
- 19:37SPEAKER_09: It is a different vibe.
- 19:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 19:39SPEAKER_09: So there's a lot of gear shifting, uh, you know, in what what what I do.
- 19:43SPEAKER_09: So that's the only explanation I can think of.
- 19:46SPEAKER_09: Uh, or maybe it's just age and like you said, people suck.
- 19:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I just I just don't want to be around people anymore.
- 19:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: It's nothing, it's not a personal thing, it's just like, you know, I just want I don't I don't want to be around you.
- 20:00SPEAKER_05: Bye.
- 20:02SPEAKER_05: Gotta go.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna go stare at a tree.
- 20:07SPEAKER_09: When you told me, when you first retired, and you told me, I said, what did you do today?
- 20:13SPEAKER_09: Well, I sat in a chair in my front yard and just watched cars go by.
- 20:17SPEAKER_09: I did.
- 20:20SPEAKER_08: I was like, wow.
- 20:23SPEAKER_05: It was like the most old man thing ever.
- 20:28SPEAKER_05: Because I was out there, I'm sitting in my chair, I got my sugar-free Mountain Dew or whatever it was.
- 20:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:37SPEAKER_05: I had a big stogie, and I'm just watching, you know, the four cars that go by and and the the two hours that I'm out there just looking up at the sky.
- 20:51SPEAKER_05: I'm surprised you didn't have Hey, there's a plane.
- 20:53SPEAKER_05: Cool.
- 20:54SPEAKER_05: I'm surprised you didn't have a gun on you shooting squirrels.
- 20:57SPEAKER_05: Now that's dad's job.
- 21:02SPEAKER_05: He'll he'll that's that's his entertainment.
- 21:04SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 21:05SPEAKER_05: I'm just like, I don't care.
- 21:07SPEAKER_05: You know, I even I even have this app on my phone that'll identify bird calls.
- 21:13SPEAKER_05: So I hear a bird and I'm like ah, it's it's a it's a it's a red-tailed woodpecker, right?
- 21:23SPEAKER_05: That's so cool.
- 21:24SPEAKER_05: You know?
- 21:26SPEAKER_05: The most fun thing to do though is is it it gives you like record pre-recorded like people of a mother have recorded their calls.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: When you play them back, they'll come to you.
- 21:36SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 21:37SPEAKER_05: It is so cool.
- 21:38SPEAKER_05: They'll like they'll come cl you'll see them, they'll come like closer.
- 21:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 21:42SPEAKER_05: And then they'll realize, oh, that's not a bird, that's a old dude.
- 21:47SPEAKER_05: I don't want to be around him.
- 21:50SPEAKER_09: Birds are such introverts.
- 21:52SPEAKER_05: Birds are stupid.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: But yeah, I mean, you know, that was But it was but it but it was so relaxing because there was nobody talking to me.
- 22:06SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 22:07SPEAKER_05: You know?
- 22:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:08SPEAKER_05: I mean I had some jazz playing, you know, like I'm just like, man, this is like this is so cool.
- 22:13SPEAKER_05: There's not another human being in sight.
- 22:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:16SPEAKER_05: And I'm just like, this is great.
- 22:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:18SPEAKER_09: I think it's funny the the older I get, the more you know, I got a lot of books I want to read.
- 22:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:27SPEAKER_09: Um and and I could be reading them, but like I get home and I don't know what to do with myself.
- 22:33SPEAKER_09: You know, there's stuff around the house that needs to be done.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: I can do that.
- 22:37SPEAKER_05: I can't.
- 22:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah, but I but it's like I don't it's ADHD or something, I don't know.
- 22:42SPEAKER_09: Um but I could just come down here or something and just read a book.
- 22:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 22:47SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 22:48SPEAKER_09: Um and I I'd like to try that uh at some point.
- 22:52SPEAKER_09: Um I was going somewhere.
- 22:53SPEAKER_09: I can't remember what I was doing, what I was gonna say to you, but I got distracted by books.
- 22:58SPEAKER_09: Books.
- 22:59SPEAKER_09: Books.
- 22:59SPEAKER_09: Uh books and birds.
- 23:01SPEAKER_09: The books and and birds.
- 23:03SPEAKER_09: No.
- 23:04SPEAKER_09: What was I gonna say?
- 23:09SPEAKER_09: Oh, no, that's what I was gonna say.
- 23:11SPEAKER_09: So all right, we're back.
- 23:13SPEAKER_09: So I saw this um uh sped up video on I think it was in Instagram or something.
- 23:19SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 23:20SPEAKER_09: Uh because I'm not on I'm not on Facebook right now.
- 23:22SPEAKER_09: I gave it up for Lent.
- 23:23SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 23:23SPEAKER_09: Um So I was on Instagram, which is the same.
- 23:27SPEAKER_09: Well, how about I say it's the same company?
- 23:28SPEAKER_09: It's the same thing, but whatever.
- 23:30SPEAKER_09: Whatever.
- 23:30SPEAKER_09: It's not Facebook! I make myself make myself feel better.
- 23:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:34SPEAKER_09: You know, you gotta do what you gotta do.
- 23:36SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 23:36SPEAKER_09: So um and it was this guy who m did the coolest thing, and I was like, ah, I wanna do that, but not tell anybody.
- 23:46SPEAKER_09: What it is is he dug like a a hole in the in it in the ground in his backyard.
- 23:54SPEAKER_09: Like I think it had to be at least six feet deep, but it was wide.
- 23:58SPEAKER_09: And uh he put walls up, but then he c he he put a roof over it and he covered it, and it made it look like uh, you know, he put like a stone and rocks, and but there's a door that goes and a staircase that goes down, right?
- 24:14SPEAKER_09: So it's like you could go out and roast marshmallows on this, you know, uh um fire pit or whatever.
- 24:22SPEAKER_05: So basically it's a bomb shelter.
- 24:23SPEAKER_09: It's it's yeah, well it's not a bomb shelter, but it's it's an underground thing.
- 24:27SPEAKER_09: But he he put walls and he put electricity in there.
- 24:31SPEAKER_09: It's it's just really small, but it's small enough to have he had a uh like a bed and a flat screen TV.
- 24:39SPEAKER_09: Right?
- 24:40SPEAKER_09: It's like and it's like if there's this little door that's covered, you know, it's covered.
- 24:46SPEAKER_09: And I was like, if I had that and nobody knew, wouldn't that be cool?
- 24:51SPEAKER_09: Where is it?
- 24:52SPEAKER_09: I don't know, I don't know.
- 24:53SPEAKER_09: Well, with me I have Life 360, so like Susie's in the backyard.
- 24:57SPEAKER_05: I don't see him.
- 24:58SPEAKER_05: Is he behind that tree?
- 24:59SPEAKER_09: What's that or not?
- 25:00SPEAKER_09: What is happening?
- 25:01SPEAKER_09: I've been thinking about that more lately.
- 25:03SPEAKER_09: I'd like to like shut the phone off.
- 25:05SPEAKER_09: And get a get away and get a Faraday bag.
- 25:08SPEAKER_05: Just put it in there and gone.
- 25:09SPEAKER_09: I would like to what's a Faraday bag?
- 25:11SPEAKER_05: It's a it's a bag that's lined.
- 25:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 25:14SPEAKER_05: So that when you put your cell phone on it, it can't it can't transmit and it can't receive.
- 25:18SPEAKER_05: Oh.
- 25:19SPEAKER_09: Where do you get those?
- 25:20SPEAKER_05: Get them on the internet.
- 25:22SPEAKER_09: Um but I'd like to go to a cabin somewhere and just write songs.
- 25:26SPEAKER_09: You know, I haven't written songs in a long time, so I'd like to just do that or read a book.
- 25:30SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 25:31SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 25:31SPEAKER_05: Just just You could write a song about reading a book.
- 25:35SPEAKER_09: There you go.
- 25:36SPEAKER_09: I could write a song about not being able to write a song.
- 25:38SPEAKER_05: Now you already done that.
- 25:40SPEAKER_09: I already did that.
- 25:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:41SPEAKER_09: That'll be on the next Comic Crossing.
- 25:43SPEAKER_05: Easy guizong.
- 25:44SPEAKER_05: Easy guizong.
- 25:45SPEAKER_09: That's actually you say it's a good song, but you didn't like it.
- 25:49SPEAKER_05: It grew on me.
- 25:50SPEAKER_05: It's not my favorite song still.
- 25:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:52SPEAKER_05: But it grew on me.
- 25:53SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:54SPEAKER_09: So well, the thing that Shane added to it, I didn't like.
- 25:57SPEAKER_05: What the Shane?
- 25:58SPEAKER_05: Shane.
- 25:59unknown: Blip, blip, blip, blip.
- 26:01SPEAKER_09: You know those little stabs.
- 26:03SPEAKER_09: Oh, that was Shane?
- 26:04SPEAKER_09: That was Shane.
- 26:04SPEAKER_09: I thought that was you.
- 26:05SPEAKER_09: No, no.
- 26:06SPEAKER_09: That was Shane.
- 26:08SPEAKER_09: I probably Shane.
- 26:09SPEAKER_09: I probably would like it now.
- 26:11SPEAKER_09: I don't know why.
- 26:13SPEAKER_09: But I pro I I probably would like that little embellishment now.
- 26:18SPEAKER_09: Uh I don't know why.
- 26:20SPEAKER_05: I think, you know, taste change.
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:23SPEAKER_05: You know.
- 26:24SPEAKER_05: As we get older, our tastes mature.
- 26:28SPEAKER_05: Wait.
- 26:28SPEAKER_05: Mature?
- 26:30SPEAKER_05: No.
- 26:30SPEAKER_05: Talk about us.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: That's the wrong word.
- 26:32SPEAKER_05: Wait a minute.
- 26:32SPEAKER_05: I think that's the wrong word.
- 26:33SPEAKER_05: Widen?
- 26:35SPEAKER_05: Change.
- 26:36SPEAKER_05: Change.
- 26:39SPEAKER_05: Change.
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: Change.
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: Now it's time for change.
- 26:42SPEAKER_05: Change, change, change.
- 26:46SPEAKER_09: Uh, let's see.
- 26:47SPEAKER_09: What else is going on?
- 26:48SPEAKER_09: Eli is uh uh Eli and Finn going away next week to Skills USA.
- 26:55SPEAKER_09: Uh it's a vocational thing.
- 26:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:59SPEAKER_05: Where's that at?
- 27:00SPEAKER_09: Uh I think it's in Portland.
- 27:02SPEAKER_09: Oh.
- 27:03SPEAKER_09: I think.
- 27:03SPEAKER_09: Cool.
- 27:04SPEAKER_09: Eli's gone to it uh for the past couple several years.
- 27:08SPEAKER_09: And I I I don't think I don't I think this is Finn's first year, I think, going to Skills USA.
- 27:15SPEAKER_09: Um but that'll be fun for them.
- 27:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_09: Trying to think uh Eli's playing volleyball.
- 27:21SPEAKER_09: It's you know in between seasons or whatever.
- 27:24SPEAKER_09: And so um what else is going on?
- 27:28SPEAKER_09: Finn's uh oh I I uh uh um am I a partner in a business.
- 27:33SPEAKER_09: You are I am.
- 27:35SPEAKER_09: Uh it's a lawn care, lawn and landscape business.
- 27:40SPEAKER_05: Oh, I knew that.
- 27:42SPEAKER_09: No, I own it.
- 27:43SPEAKER_05: You own it now?
- 27:45SPEAKER_05: What did that happen?
- 27:46SPEAKER_09: So let me explain.
- 27:49SPEAKER_09: So uh Finn and his partner uh let me say that differently.
- 27:55SPEAKER_09: Finn and his business partner are uh sixteen.
- 28:00SPEAKER_09: They can't legally uh own a business.
- 28:04SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 28:04SPEAKER_09: An LLC.
- 28:05SPEAKER_09: So we incorporated, I don't know if I told you that.
- 28:08SPEAKER_09: Uh we went to a lawyer.
- 28:10SPEAKER_09: We happen to have one in the family, and he he drew up um an LLC, like um, you know, doing business type thing.
- 28:19SPEAKER_09: And um myself and Finn and his partner and his partner's dad uh all signed paperwork.
- 28:27SPEAKER_09: We got a um um like an official EIN number and things like that.
- 28:34SPEAKER_09: It's so that they can have a legal business.
- 28:36SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 28:37SPEAKER_09: And so uh Tim, who's the who's the other father, and I are 50-50.
- 28:48SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 28:48SPEAKER_09: He's the manager, and I'm just there.
- 28:50SPEAKER_09: So I'm not really doing anything.
- 28:52SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 28:53SPEAKER_09: Um but he goes, Well, we're business partners now.
- 28:57SPEAKER_09: I said, Yeah, I guess so.
- 28:59SPEAKER_09: So what happens is we have we have a voting interest in the company.
- 29:05SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 29:05SPEAKER_09: Finn and his partner m make all the decisions, and we just we just are there.
- 29:10SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 29:11SPEAKER_09: They can sign checks, you know, they can cash checks, they can do everything.
- 29:14SPEAKER_09: We went to the bank and we did all that that stuff as well.
- 29:17SPEAKER_09: And uh so when they turn 18, we don't have to do anything, it automatically goes to them.
- 29:23SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 29:24SPEAKER_05: So it's kind of neat.
- 29:25SPEAKER_05: That is neat.
- 29:25SPEAKER_09: Um so that happened.
- 29:27SPEAKER_09: I was I was like, oh that I guess that's kind of big.
- 29:30SPEAKER_05: So the day before they turn eighteen, you should just like take all the money and just like they're like, where's all our money?
- 29:38SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 29:39SPEAKER_09: Well, it's funny, we went to the bank to to to sign papers for for the account and everything, and I was put in charge of like the the banking, sort of.
- 29:50SPEAKER_09: And I don't do anything with banking, so I just oh yeah, sure, I'll I'll take that title, whatever.
- 29:55SPEAKER_09: You know, and I went home and I told I told my wife, I said, Yeah, I have access to uh Finn's company's uh bank account.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: She's like money, money, money, money, money.
- 30:07SPEAKER_09: No, uh obviously it's really completely hands-off for well yeah, it's just it's just uh you know Tim you know the other dad, Tim, he he ha has successfully run a couple of businesses.
- 30:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah, he knows what he's doing.
- 30:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I would just look you know, I'm just gonna be.
- 30:24SPEAKER_05: That's good, Tim.
- 30:25SPEAKER_05: And I'm gonna be over here looking at trees and writing songs.
- 30:31SPEAKER_05: You're doing a good job, bud.
- 30:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so like if he needs me, you know, my if he needs my input on something, he'll he'll just say, So I need you to sign this, and I'll be like, Okay.
- 30:52SPEAKER_09: They built a building out in Mapleton, and they've been out there every chance they can.

- 43:12SPEAKER_09: I gotta go with this one.
- 43:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah, maybe really just for nostalgia because when I was a kid, this was it.
- 43:18SPEAKER_12: This was it.
- 43:27SPEAKER_07: Alright.

- 45:05SPEAKER_09: No doubt.
- 45:06SPEAKER_09: No doubt.
- 45:06SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 45:19SPEAKER_09: I gotta say, and I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that she married Blake Shelton, but she's different than she was.
- 45:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, she's not this girl anymore.
- 45:29SPEAKER_05: No, no, no, which is okay.

- 46:11SPEAKER_09: This is the original version of fire up the tape machine, right?
- 46:38SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, we've talked about this.
- 46:40SPEAKER_05: Have we?
- 46:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 46:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, okay.
- 46:41SPEAKER_05: Not not in this this setting.
- 46:44SPEAKER_05: Since Bob, but we've talked about it before.
- 46:46SPEAKER_09: That's uh Robert Hazard, the original version of this song.
- 46:50SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 46:53SPEAKER_09: Cindy Lauper.
- 46:54SPEAKER_09: Girls just want to have fun.
- 46:56SPEAKER_09: Well, that's one thing we haven't talked about yet.

- 47:11SPEAKER_05: I wanted to be end of the night angry.
- 47:16SPEAKER_07: Uh let's see.
- 47:19SPEAKER_05: I guess Gene Simmons is all bent out of shape about it.
- 47:24SPEAKER_05: Well.
- 47:33SPEAKER_05: He's like, when's Led Zeppelin going into the hip-hop hall of the game?
- 47:36SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, wow.
- 47:39SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 47:40SPEAKER_09: Tell us what you really think, Gene.
- 47:42SPEAKER_09: So I'll kind of leave this um.

- 48:53SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 48:53SPEAKER_09: Yeah, for sure.

- 49:02SPEAKER_09: Oasis.
- 49:04SPEAKER_05: I mean, I don't like them, but they've been around a while.
- 49:08SPEAKER_09: I suppose if we're gonna put the black crows in.
- 49:10SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 49:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah, because it's yeah.
- 49:13SPEAKER_09: I guess.
- 49:14SPEAKER_09: Joy Division and New Order.
- 49:16SPEAKER_09: It's kind of new wave.
- 49:17SPEAKER_09: It's not.
- 49:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but it's still rocking, I guess.
- 49:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 49:21SPEAKER_09: Uh let's see.
- 49:23SPEAKER_09: Collins is the only uh potential two-time inductee.

- 50:08SPEAKER_09: I love her voice.
- 50:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 50:09SPEAKER_09: But she does not belong in the Rock and the Hall of Fame.
- 50:12SPEAKER_09: At least not now.
- 50:13SPEAKER_05: Not yet.
- 50:14SPEAKER_09: Not yet.

- 50:33SPEAKER_09: They should go in the Hall of Fame.
- 50:34SPEAKER_09: Or a Hall of Fame.
- 50:35SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 50:35SPEAKER_09: But not the Rock'n'Rolly.
- 50:37SPEAKER_09: Mariah Carey was popped in RB.
- 50:39SPEAKER_09: Same with Sade.
- 50:41SPEAKER_09: Same with Hank, same with Shakira.

- 58:13SPEAKER_09: And contagious.
- 58:16SPEAKER_09: Alright, so the question.
- 58:18SPEAKER_09: Is the question on the top of here?
- 58:20SPEAKER_05: No, we gotta do a pass first.
- 58:23SPEAKER_09: Well, isn't that what this is?
- 58:27SPEAKER_05: No, that's the present one.
- 58:29SPEAKER_09: Right?
- 58:29SPEAKER_09: No.

- 58:55SPEAKER_05: You got sideswiped and the driver took off.
- 58:57SPEAKER_09: Oh, so we already answered that?
- 58:59SPEAKER_05: Well, this is that's the one we're supposed to be answering.
- 59:01SPEAKER_05: Today.
- 59:02SPEAKER_09: Today, okay.
- 59:03SPEAKER_09: Alright, yeah, that's what I thought.
- 59:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 59:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah, alright, alright.
- 59:06SPEAKER_09: So, what what was the the last one, I guess?

- 59:18SPEAKER_05: Alright, here we go.
- 59:20SPEAKER_13: Hey guys, that was a really great week of picks this week for mixed tape.
- 59:25SPEAKER_13: Um I really enjoyed listening to them um and imagining dogs running through town.
- 59:30SPEAKER_05: Oh, the dog one.
- 59:32SPEAKER_13: But I had to go with Doug's.
- 59:33SPEAKER_13: Who doesn't love Sandlaw and Wipeout is just perfect for that scenario.
- 59:37SPEAKER_09: What did I pick?
- 59:38SPEAKER_09: Oh, I picked an older one too.
- 59:39SPEAKER_09: I picked uh um um Um Mizerloo.
- 59:44SPEAKER_09: Mr.

- 59:47SPEAKER_09: Uh okay, cool.
- 59:48SPEAKER_09: Alright, so now we do the present one.
- 59:50SPEAKER_05: Now we do the present one.
- 59:51SPEAKER_09: And the present one, uh, it should be on top here.
- 59:54SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 59:54SPEAKER_09: You said it was uh Alright.
- 59:56SPEAKER_09: You just got sideswiped and the other driver took off.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_09: You stomped the gas pedal to chase him.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_09: What song plays in the background?
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_09: Alright, what did Cousin Larry say?
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_05: Okay, cousin Larry says mixtape.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_05: Well, that happened to me once in Waterville, and it turned out to be a little old lady.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_05: LOL.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_05: But if it was some jack wagon did that to me, I and and I'm chasing him down, I'm think Metallica's Fuel has to be playing.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_05: Honorable mention to the Benny Hill theme song Yakity Sack by Boots Randolph.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_05: Because it also would be funny, like finding out the Jack Wagon who sideswipe you was a granny.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_09: So I have to say, um, this is one of me five, give me that which I desire.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_09: Probably my favorite Metallica song.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_09: Of course, I played it in a band.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_09: That's true, yeah.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_09: Really fun to play.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_03: Give me five, give me that.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_05: What's yours?
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_05: Five minutes alone, Pantera.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_09: Five minutes alone.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_09: Look at that.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_09: I type that I type five min, and this is the song that comes up.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_09: All right.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_09: So you just got a side swiped?
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_09: Did it say it didn't say about an old lady, right?
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_09: No.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_05: No, it just said you're swiped, swipe, you're chasing them.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_09: And they took off.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and you're chasing them.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_09: So um this was mine.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_06: Ah yeah! Great pet, man.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_08: I'm I'm really pissed off right now.

- 1:04:02SPEAKER_08: They took off.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_08: Here I go.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_08: Oh well.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_08: Beastie boys.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_07: Beastie sabotage.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_09: All right, so that's my pick.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_09: Sabotage.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_09: Yours is Five Minutes Alone by Pantera.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_09: And fuel by Metallica is cousin Larry's pick.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_05: See, senor! See, senor.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_09: So that is the present.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_09: And I'm not gonna forget this time, we're going to do the future.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_05: What?
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_09: There's the box.

- 1:09:28SPEAKER_05: I was like, did you just say negative hair?
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_05: And she's just like, uh-huh.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, okay.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_05: And then another kid was telling was saying he keeps his dirt bike in his bedroom.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, yeah.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, why in the world do you keep your dirt bike in your bedroom?
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_05: And this was what he said.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_05: My mom won't let me leave it in the kitchen.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_05: Okay, well, you know.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_05: It is a roof county, for sure.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_05: These are I mean that he's a county boy.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_05: He really is.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_05: He's a good kid, though.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_09: I like him.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_09: Um I have an album.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_05: I might have a guess.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_05: I might even have an answer.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_09: We don't know.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_09: I think you might actually.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_09: Let me do this.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_09: Let me see if I can uh cue it up so I have it ready to go.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_09: And I know that we've done this as artists before, and we may even have done this album before, but you know what?
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_09: I don't care because this is if I say if I say that, I'll probably give it away.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_05: Is it Billy I don't?
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_05: Is it Billy Idol?
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_05: Um is it Michael Bolton?
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_09: Um is it Billy Joel?
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_05: Um I like Billy Joel.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_09: Oh, I will tell you, so last week we did Richard Marks.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_09: Correct.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_09: And Richard Marks went on tour with this guy.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_05: Oh, Rick Springfield.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_09: It is Rick Springfield.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_09: So I was gonna say, um you uh you know my history with Rick Springfield.
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_05: Um It's long and convolted.
- 1:12:06SPEAKER_05: Convolted?
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_05: Convoluted?
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_05: Convoluted, yeah.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_05: That's what I meant to say.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_08: I like convolted.
- 1:12:13SPEAKER_05: The word of the day is convolted.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_05: Doug, can you use convolted instead of?
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_05: No, I can't.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_05: O'Brien's history with Rick Springfield is long and convolted.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_09: Um and this album that I chose is one of my Desert Island albums.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_09: Ah.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_05: Is it Working uh Working Man's Dog?
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah, no.
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_09: It is a relatively new one.
- 1:12:40SPEAKER_05: It is from 2012.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_09: It's called Songs for the End of the World.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_05: Oh, that is a good album.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_05: I love this album.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_09: I love this album.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_09: Um right from the beginning, it starts out with a song called Wide Awake.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_09: And I'm I'm not gonna play every song, but boy.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_09: This song has this album has so much energy, and it's full of pop hooks.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_05: Do you realize Brick Springfield was the second person we ever had on Wall Tunes?
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_09: Was he really?
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_09: Was it this album?
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_09: You probably probably don't know.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_09: I have no idea.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_05: Um This is the third time we've done him.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_09: This is called Wide Awake.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_02: This is a great way to start an album, don't just stop.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_09: Just catchy as hell, man.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_09: Just and so you go from distance, from distance, just full of hooks and and energy, to the next song, which is also great, even hookier in my opinion.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_09: This is called Our Ship is sinking.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_09: I love this album.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_09: And then uh we go into like a rocker sort of I have a simple song, but it's just I hate myself.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_02: My so-called friends all quit with that goodbye.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_02: Everybody thinks I'm a creep, but so do I.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_02: I think that I'll think that I am I thought of we do it in my I climb on the crop and go ahead by me.
- 1:16:13unknown: Because I hate my tell.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_09: Now I don't know if you know this or not, but this song, he uh recruited fans.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_09: Hear that chorus?
- 1:16:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's all fans.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_09: Oh wrong.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they they like sent videos of themselves singing the chorus.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_09: Cool.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_09: And he put him in walking.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_09: Uh and then you have a ballad, really pretty ballad called You and Me.
- 1:16:39SPEAKER_09: The sequencing of this album is perfect too.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_09: It just starts off really energetic and leaving the worst behind.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_02: Seeing the best is right in front of me.
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_02: Running away from any thing that bright all the things up that we're doing.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_09: I really love this album.
- 1:17:31SPEAKER_09: Uh, I'm gonna play two more though.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_09: Um, here's one about aliens.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_09: This is a sign of life.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_09: Alright, I'm gonna play one more.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_09: This is one of my favorite ones on the album just because it's so different.
- 1:19:53SPEAKER_02: The cattle reach the comet.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_02: There is no more.
- 1:19:59SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I love that song.
- 1:20:00SPEAKER_09: And I love this album.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_09: Like I said, this is one of my Desert Island albums.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_09: I don't think there's a bad song on it.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_09: I really don't.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_05: One of those uh no skip albums.
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_09: Well, I did skip some.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_05: Uh well, I mean, but if you were listening to it on Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_09: No, I I yeah.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_09: Um he just has a knack for the kernel.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_09: Uh course, I mean, he's he he's talked about his fight with depression and stuff, so his lyrics are dark.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_09: A lot of them.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_09: Um, but there's always an element of hope in there, right?
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_09: Especially with the choruses.
- 1:20:32SPEAKER_09: He al he lifts up the choruses, you know, like Take Me.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_09: But the other songs that I skipped, there's a song called Gabriel, which I think is about his son.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_09: Um or maybe that's Joshua.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_09: Uh there's another song called Joshua, and then Love Screws Me Up.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_09: A song called I Found You, song called Depravity and One Way Street.
- 1:20:55SPEAKER_09: Uh that's the whole album, and it's it's it's freaking great.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_09: It's really great.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_09: He's a good one.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_09: It's a good one.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_05: Um I like how he's gotten harder over the years.
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_05: I know, he has.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so actually, well, I you say that, and the let me just give you a sampling because uh his last album was different.
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_09: Uh did I have it in here?

- 1:21:20SPEAKER_09: Um it's it's good.
- 1:21:23SPEAKER_09: It's it's very poppy.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_09: Uh and it's and there are times when it's hard, but this came out a few years ago.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_02: You say Romeo, keep your hands off the wheel.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_09: I don't know if there's any swears.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_09: But he, you know, he he got harder and then he c with this album, he kind of went back to his pop.
- 1:21:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_02: I can't shake the memory of your heat, cause I'm already falling at your feet.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_09: So again, big catchy chord.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you know?
- 1:22:18SPEAKER_09: That's uh again, that's from his new uh or latest album, which is called uh Automatic.
- 1:22:24SPEAKER_09: Uh great titles too.

- 1:22:47SPEAKER_09: Uh hold upright and aim at the flame.
- 1:22:49SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
