- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we are previewing the Jaguars week one matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Very excited to finally be doing a regular season.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: week one preview for your jacksonville jackwars love talking jacks football with y'all if you enjoy the content it's all jacks all the time please like and subscribe you can also hit that hype button so the jackwars are hosting the browns 1pm
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: in week one.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Lower capacity right at the bank about 42.5,000 fans going to be there.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: It will be hot even though like the temperature on the weather app says it's about 88 90 degrees.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be humid.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: The temperatures are going to be feeling a lot hotter than that in the stadium.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I hope fans show up for this one in a big way.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: a highly encouraged fans to do so, but it is going to be hot, make sure to have that water.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be toasty in there.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: There is a chance of some bad weather, which I mean, it's Florida, of course, as chances and bad weather.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll have to keep an eye on that.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: But again, Jaguar is hosting the Browns, 1 p.m. kick.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: At the bank this Sunday, could not be more excited to watch the NFL football.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously last night You had a game in which I mean Sam Darnall goes down AJ Brown goes down There's not a whole lot of offense to speak of consistently throughout the game But it was still fun to be able to sit there and and watch a real life NFL regular season football game And obviously the C.O.X got the job done
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Um, in this one though, the jackwars are 9. favorites.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: That is a big, big number, 9. favorites over at my bookie.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: That is the second highest spread or biggest spread of the week only the cardinals and chargers is bigger.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: The chargers are favored by 10 right now.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a game where the Jaguars are highly, highly favored, not only to win, but to win big in this one.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Over under a 40 and a half points.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: So the implied score is like 25 to 16 or 24 to 15.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: They're expecting the Jaguars to get the job done in a big way.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, week one, it can be absolutely wild.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: You never know quite what to expect in the NFL during week one and really even week two sometimes.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the Jaguars with the way Liam Cohen and their coaching staff focuses on the little details, focuses on leadership and attacking edges,
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this team will be ready to play, but it could very easily be viewed as a trap game against the Browns.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Again, when you are favored by this much, when you won 13 games the year before, it could definitely be a trap game against a Browns team that has more talent than you would really expect for a team that is kind of viewed so negatively in the NFL.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get into more of why I think they're viewed so negatively
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: But there is talent across the Browns roster.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, they got to come ready to play if they want to kind of have this one go the way they want in my opinion.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that they will come ready to play from a mental and physical standpoint.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Now it is interesting to keep an eye on the fact that the Jaguars starters almost none of them played any snaps during the preseason.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: They did get in their joint practice work.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: They got in 11 on 11 and three different joint, four different joint practices.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously all of their individual team practices with a lot of 11 on 11 as well.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be interesting to see if the Jaguars have any struggles in that department, you know, tackling and just executing just because they haven't really had any opportunities to get on the field in a real game setting yet this year.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: Quincy Williams, Tyson Campbell, Mike Routenberg, welcome back to dovall prepare to get hit.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Quincy Williams, starting linebacker, for the Cleveland Browns.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Former Jaguar's draft pick.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell, starting cornerback for the Cleveland Browns.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Former second round pick back in what 2021 was that right.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Routenberg,
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: the former Jaguar's defensive coach.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: He was under the Todd Wash, Gus Bradley defense here for quite a while.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: And he is kind of a Gus Bradley Robert Sala tree type of coach.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it's going to be interesting to see what he brings to the table as a defensive coordinator.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: First time defensive coordinator, but you know, welcome back to do all to those guys prepared to get hit.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Watson, that is kind of the Sean Watson of it all, right?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: He is owned to the Jaguars throughout his career.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: He is seven and one and I know people probably don't want to hear that, but it's just the fact of the matter.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: He is seven and one against the Jaguars, including in 2024, with the Cleveland Browns.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, that was a different Jaguars coaching staff.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: That was a debacle of the season for the Jaguars.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: But the Browns have beaten the Jaguar's three times this decade.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have not beaten the Browns since 2017.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: So the Browns have had the Jaguars number as of late.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that is with different coaching staffs.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, take it back to the AFC Central Rivals.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars owned the Browns when they were AFC Central Rivals.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Prior to the Texans expansion and the divisions getting switched
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, from 95 to 2001, the Jaguars were seven and one against the Browns in those AFC Central days.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty wild to think about.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just go home back to that time period, but things are different now.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: They're absolutely very different.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: We do have an injury watch, right?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: A couple of guys for the Jaguars, really keeping an eye on Cole Van Lannon.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar is starting right tackle.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: It was their starting left tackle to end the year last year, but he has moved over to the right side as Anton Harrison has become the starting left tackle.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: He is recovering from the knee injury.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: He was activated off-pup, you know, with around three weeks before this first regular season game.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was the Friday three weeks ago.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so, will he be able to go?
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a game time decision.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: He did practice limited yesterday.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: They're just going to have to see how it feels out there game time before they make that decision.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: They would like to get him some reps at the very least.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: They would like to have him active at the very least.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: But it's just going to be one of those where you have to keep an eye on it.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that would mean I think Walker Little will go if Colvin and Lannon cannot and why a Milim would then be your swing tackle.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to running back, Liquid Allen is also a game time decision for the Jaguars last week Liam Cohen said it would be a pleasant surprise if Liquid Allen was able to go and week one.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars, they have a backup plan in place for Liquid Allen, who is currently their pass down back, past Pro, catching the ball on the back field.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: They believe Chris Rodriguez has proven himself in past Pro and Amir Abdullah is a very good receiving back.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think Basel Tut can do a little bit of everything.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: So those are kind of the injuries to watch right there for the Jaguars.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers is nothing to worry about.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: He jammed his finger a couple of weeks ago and he'll be just fine.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: for the Browns.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Starting right guard, Tevin Jenkins, and defensive tackle, Malik Collins were both limited Wednesday.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So those are a couple guys we will keep an eye on out there.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Back up rookie interior offensive, Lime and Parker railsford.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: also limited, but that shouldn't impact the starting line-ups for these two teams heading into this one.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully the Jaguar's are able to lock in Colvin Lane and get him out there.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: That would be a huge boost, I think, just for the Jaguar's entire offense, like the offensive line in terms of past pro, in terms of running the ball, getting Colvin Lane and out there healthy and playing his best ball is obviously going to help the Jaguar's a lot.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully, y'all
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Locked in over at my bookie with the first lock of the season all you had to do is answer yes to the Seahawk raising the banner on opening night and they did exactly that
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: getting paid to say yes over there with that lock in the season.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: But my bookies website, it's easy to use on desktop or mobile.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: They've got all the action you could ever want in the NFL.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: And more, I personally locked in the Jaguars to make the playoffs.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: I feel pretty darn good about that one.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you're new, you can use my promo code Duval to claim your first bet risk free up to $500.

- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, looking at this game, getting them depth a little bit more of the browns, they have a rookie head coach, a rookie, offensive coordinator, a rookie, defensive coordinator, a rookie,
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: It is kind of crazy that Todd Munken is a rookie head coach at 60 years old, but that is exactly where we're at.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: But again, at every level of the Cleveland Browns major coaching points, again, head coach, offensive corner, defensive corner, special teams of coordinator.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're all rookies.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: They're all rookies.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Now they have experience in the league and they have experience being coaches, but not at this level doing this job.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: While the Jaguars, they bring all of those pieces back, right?
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: You have obviously Liam Cohen, as your head coach, who's in his second year, and he's been calling plays in the NFL for a little while now doing a darn good job of it.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: They're a good job of it in college.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then you've got Anthony Campanile at Defense of Coordinator who interviewed for a head coaching job this this past off season.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: Great identity at Offensive Coordinator who interviewed for a head coaching jobs this off season.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And he's far well, who's one of the best in the game to do it.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: So just from a coaching standpoint, it feels like the Jaguar should have an advantage.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what is interesting is the Browns have tape of what this staff did last year.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars do not.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars do not have tape of exactly what the Browns will be doing.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now Todd Munkin was calling in place in Baltimore, right?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So you can draw back on that a little bit.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: But you just don't know exactly how they're going to play it out with these players because it's all new players for Todd Munkin.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'll new toys to play with, you know?
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fascinating to see kind of the unscouted looks and how the jack was.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: If they're ready for that, if they can make plays against those unscouted looks, that's something that is always kind of a big deal in week one, especially when you're going against a team that has an entirely new coaching staff that none of them have done it at this level before you just really don't know what to expect.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars, as I mentioned, they do have a long history of playing games against a Sean Watson.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: It hasn't gone very well for the Jaguars for the most part.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: But it's also interesting that Titus Howard is in this football game for the Cleveland Browns.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's a new look Browns offense, but the Jags, Trayvon Walker and Titus Howard have kind of battled a lot over the last several years, as he's a former Houston Texan, as well to Sean Watson's played behind Titus Howard,
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: New look offense starting for new offensive linemen for the Cleveland rounds and it's interesting.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: You would think about that and say man, that does not sound good and maybe it won't be good just because you have so many new faces right, but on paper, it is a talented group.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: You have Elton Jenkins at center.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's been one of the best interior offensive linemen in the league for a while.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Titus Howard is a very good right tackle.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Very good.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: Tevin Jenkins is a good right guard.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: Zion Johnson is probably the biggest question mark in terms of their veterans, and then they also have left tackle Spencer Fano who they drafted in the first round this year.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: So there's investment, there's talent.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line should be a lot better than what it was last year, which is pretty fascinating.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: Say about the Cleveland Browns.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's felt like one of their weaknesses for a couple years now running, and do they now have the pieces in place,
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: for that to not be the case.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like an on paper, but you gotta develop that chemistry and continuity between those players, and a lot of those guys do have injury history.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: So that's just gonna be something to keep an eye on.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Two rookie starting wide receivers.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston is more of your big physical, ex-type receiver.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: He has his eyes, he has a little bit more wiggle than you would expect.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: very strong hands, very strong physical player, but he is a rookie.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: And same thing with KC conception, who a lot of people have kind of compared to Zay Flowers from Todd Munkin's previous offense, and KC conception can absolutely fly.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: He is the type of player that I think they're going to try to get the ball in his hands early often, very quickly, right?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: do a lot of different things moving him around the formation, but look, again, it's four new offensive linemen, two rookie starting wide receivers, and a quarterback who did not play last year due to an Achilles, and we can all, you know, the Sean Watson has, it has been an epic disaster of a trade for the Cleveland Browns.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: It has, disaster of a trade.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: But again, the last time the Jaguar saw this guy, he had a pretty darn good game against them.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: And Todd Munkin has had some pretty darn good games against the Jaguars.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: And again, different coaching staff for the Jaguars.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Everything is different for the most part.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: Compared to those last meetings, but it'll just be fascinating to see, can to Sean Watson get
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't expect him to become like an above average quarterback again, but could he get to average?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Could he get to sustainable because I think if he could, the Browns can be a very competitive football team.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: There is talent on the rest of their offense.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: They have a good play collar in Todd Munkin.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that quarterback situation to me that leaves more questions than answers, honestly, with Deschon Watson.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't feel like he's the same level of athlete.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't feel like he has the mental confidence to be the player who used to be.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, we were saying that prior to the Jaguar as playing the Browns in 2024 as well.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line, I mentioned it's a bunch of new pieces, but it's a legit talents.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: And then on the defensive side of the ball with Mike Rootenberg, you would expect similarities to Robert Sala to Gus Bradley, not the most complex defenses in the world, right?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know exactly because he hasn't called a defense before in the NFL, but no Miles Garrett.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: The Brown's defense, it is talented.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: Even without Miles Garrett, it absolutely is.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Jared verse comes over in the Miles Garrett trade.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good football player.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, good is probably an answer.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: He is a borderline, great, addressure.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: He has a lot of similarities to Josh Heinz Allen, in my opinion, the way they win the physicality and explosiveness that they both possess.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Malik Collins is a good interior past Russia.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're helping Mason Graham take another step forward in year two, player that they acquired in the Travis Hunter trade.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Isaiah McGuire is a good base down defender as well.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then they've got some depth when you look at Derek Barnett and Sam Williams.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: At the second level, Carson's questions are one of the best young linebackers and football was the defensive rookie of the year last year in Quincy Williams.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: We know can fly around the field.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then their secondary is very, very impressive with Denzel Ward, Grant Delpit, Ronnie Hickman, Tyson Campbell, and Miles Harden.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: That is a group that I think can give the Jaguar's trouble.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: if they are deployed and if they are coached up in the right way, Denzel Ward is still one of the best in the business grant.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Delpit is very good.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: And Tyson Campbell, yeah, he's played well for the Browns.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: I know that might come as a surprise to some Jaguars fans here, but he has played well for the the Browns.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: mostly a lot of continuity on the defensive side of the ball outside of the fact that Miles Garrett, who has been the linchpin of their entire franchise throughout his entire career, is now a lot of Sam's little is ram, he's playing tonight and you have Jared verse out there instead and Jared verse can absolutely wreck a game, but it's not the same as Miles Garrett.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: No one is the same as Miles Garrett and now Miles Garrett and Aaron Donaldman, the same team.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely insane.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: mostly the same cast of characters.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: You have Travis Hunter being inserted as CB1.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: He did not play a lot of corner last year before he got injured.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: Played in seven games.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: He'll be out there, I think, almost every snap on the defensive side of the ball at corner.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a big deal replacing Greg News some with Travis Hunter.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: You have Ventral Miller and Branson Combs at Linebacker.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think you'll see more Ventral Miller, honestly.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's my gut, but that's just based off of the fact that he has listed.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: First on the Dept Chart, even though it's an OR, and based on what I've seen and been able to evaluate there, Devon Lloyd no longer with the team over in Carolina.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: Tutan and Rodriguez in the back field is your top two running backs.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that's an or situation, but I would guess to and would get more run than Rod Regas.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's some shuffling on the offensive line when you talk about ants on Harrison going from right tackle to left tackle, COVID and land and going from left tackle to right tackle.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: As a Cleveland going to right guard, you still have Robert Hansie plugged in at center.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then Emmanuel Pregnant, the only rookie in the starting lineup for the Jag wars when you're talking about 11 personnel, I guess.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: with, in 12-person L.U.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: would say, Nate Borgerchuk could also be listed as a starter as well, but I'm annual pregnant on earning his spot as a starting left guard for the Jack Wars, is one of those big storylines to keep an eye on, for him here, how is he able to perform in his first NFL game, and
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think on paper, both teams should have solid special teams units, but store their special teams coordinator has not done it at this level whereas you have Heath Farwell who is extremely experienced and well respected throughout the NFL and so special teams, we don't talk about it enough.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: National media analysts, et cetera, do not talk about it enough.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: It matters in a big way.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: I do trust the Jaguar Special Teams, and I'll be watching to see if Parker Washington is back there returning Puntsk as he is somebody who can absolutely change the game, and we will be on Parker Washington contract watch.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: as well, moving forward over the next few days.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: We are going to get into some more nitty gritty stuff over the next several days as well with this matchup, talking about matchups to watch, guys that could define the game, and a lot more.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very, very excited to be talking actual football, previewing games with the all really appreciate you tuning in.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a great one.
