Vernon Parish Fire Contained | Alexandria Louisiana News
A major wildfire erupted in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, near Leesville and the Cleco substation, prompting multiple fire departments and state agencies to respond. Thankfully, by Friday morning, the Rosepine Fire Department confirmed the blaze was fully contained — a welcome relief amid record dry conditions. With eight inches less rain than normal across Southwest Louisiana, officials have issued a burn ban to prevent further fires. Stay safe, stay alert, and hope for rain soon.
