- 0:08Speaker 1: What's up?
- 0:09Speaker 2: Everybody? Welcome into an NFL Scouting Combine edition of Inside
- 0:12Speaker 2: the Charge. I'm Mattie glab and I'm so excited to
- 0:14Speaker 2: be joined by NFL analytics data expert Cynthia Freeland. Thanks
- 0:19Speaker 2: for coming on. You're so busy this week, so I appreciate.
- 0:22Speaker 1: That everyone's busy this week. You're busy. We're all crazy
- 0:24Speaker 1: this week.
- 0:25Speaker 3: That's the whole the combines, Like how much can you
- 0:27Speaker 3: possibly fit into this many days?
- 0:29Speaker 1: That's that's what the combine is.
- 0:31Speaker 2: What is your favorite part about the combine?
- 0:32Speaker 3: That's what it is seeing everyone. You just walk down
- 0:34Speaker 3: the hall and you're like, oh, there's Joe Brady. Oh
- 0:37Speaker 3: you know there's going to be like you don't even
- 0:39Speaker 3: you don't even have to necessarily even plan it. You
- 0:41Speaker 3: just walk in and see people right away.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's how many combines have you been to? When are
- 0:45Speaker 2: you keeping track? I am?
- 0:46Speaker 1: I gotta stop though.
- 0:48Speaker 2: What's the number? What's the number? This is twelve twelve,
- 0:52Speaker 2: You're in double digits.
- 0:53Speaker 1: That's wild. That's wild.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Does it feel like the same thing every year or
- 0:57Speaker 2: do the new coaches, new new GM's, new scouting departments
- 1:01Speaker 2: kind of keep it keep it.
- 1:03Speaker 3: New I mean this year, This year feels a little
- 1:06Speaker 3: different because a couple of things happening at once.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Ten new coaches is a lot.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, there's also it's kind of this weird mix of
- 1:13Speaker 3: like nil plus the transfer portal plus ten new coaches,
- 1:18Speaker 3: so you have like a lot of different new philosophies
- 1:21Speaker 3: in different places. There's some for the bills, we'll get
- 1:24Speaker 3: into that, but also I don't know what to make
- 1:26Speaker 3: Like some scouts say, it's a good thing that the
- 1:28Speaker 3: players have moved around a different team, so you can
- 1:30Speaker 3: see how they behave with money, you can see how
- 1:32Speaker 3: they behave in new circumstances, you get more touch points
- 1:35Speaker 3: on them. Some scouts are like, I don't know the playbooks,
- 1:38Speaker 3: this thin, I don't know what they've exactly done, so
- 1:40Speaker 3: I don't this That's what feels different about the rest
- 1:44Speaker 3: of U's the same, Yeah, but that's what feels different
- 1:45Speaker 3: about this combine. It's kind of the way everything's sort
- 1:48Speaker 3: of situated a little bit differently.
- 1:50Speaker 2: What's the most important thing you get out of the
- 1:52Speaker 2: combine every year?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Who believes in what you know?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Like, like, if if you're telling me philosophies, then you
- 1:58Speaker 3: can see who can you know, actually fulfill what they
- 2:01Speaker 3: say they're going to do. Right, It doesn't always work
- 2:03Speaker 3: out that it's that easy. Of course, everyone has a philosophy. Yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 3: but you have you already have a team, and you're
- 2:08Speaker 3: you're not starting a team from scratch with unlimited picks
- 2:10Speaker 3: in any player. So I think the thing I mostly
- 2:13Speaker 3: like to get out of it is some of these changes.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You're not the only team that has a new defense, right.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I want to know what they really mean by that,
- 2:19Speaker 3: because who plays base front anymore?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I mean that's so you know, like I've talked about
- 2:23Speaker 2: that here this week, right.
- 2:24Speaker 1: A bit, Right, So what does it mean to you
- 2:27Speaker 1: to switch that?
- 2:28Speaker 3: Like it can mean a lot of things, But who's
- 2:30Speaker 3: really who plays base defense anymore?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah? Oh wait, No, it's multiple. It's very multiple. That's
- 2:35Speaker 2: what Jim Leonard, our new defense coordinator, has said. We
- 2:38Speaker 2: want to be multiple. Yes, we're going to be a
- 2:40Speaker 2: three to four base switching from a four to three,
- 2:42Speaker 2: but we want to be a defense that has players.
- 2:45Speaker 2: We've heard positionless players thrown out a lot. Brandon Bean
- 2:48Speaker 2: mentioned it this week, is to that is what they're
- 2:51Speaker 2: looking for in free agency and out of this draft,
- 2:55Speaker 2: is you think about Buffalo's defense and how it has
- 2:57Speaker 2: existed as a four to three and shifting to a
- 2:59Speaker 2: three four, What does a three to four defense allow
- 3:02Speaker 2: you to do?
- 3:03Speaker 3: To me, a lot of these guys, So if you
- 3:06Speaker 3: look at like the difference, I was trying to remember
- 3:08Speaker 3: the exact number, but they we don't just track with
- 3:11Speaker 3: next gend stats like what happens when the players are
- 3:13Speaker 3: on the field. It tracks people running onto and off
- 3:15Speaker 3: of the field. So if you look at what's been
- 3:17Speaker 3: going on in the past five seasons specifically, probably even more,
- 3:21Speaker 3: but we just looked at five it was like the
- 3:22Speaker 3: number of miles miles that these defensive front guys are running,
- 3:27Speaker 3: switching on and off the field to kind of get
- 3:29Speaker 3: the best and most advantageous matchups against whatever offense are
- 3:33Speaker 3: looking at. They're running like way more than ever before.
- 3:36Speaker 3: It's like sixty five percent increase. Don't quote me on
- 3:39Speaker 3: that number, but it's more than fifty percent, less than
- 3:41Speaker 3: seventy percent somewhere in between there, right, So when you're
- 3:44Speaker 3: switching from four to three to three four, it just
- 3:47Speaker 3: changes some of the principles as to who's supposed to
- 3:50Speaker 3: do what and perhaps what the strategy is there is
- 3:54Speaker 3: that just like you're seeing from let's usee Seattle because
- 3:57Speaker 3: they've played the longest, well, one of the two teams
- 3:59Speaker 3: that have played the August this season, you had Nicki Minwarre,
- 4:01Speaker 3: who's like claims to be an s It says a
- 4:03Speaker 3: little S for safety next to his name, but he
- 4:05Speaker 3: didn't play very many snaps that truse safety. He played
- 4:08Speaker 3: like nickel and off ball linebacker, like all the other
- 4:11Speaker 3: positions as well, So that the point is to get
- 4:14Speaker 3: people closest to the position that coach wants them to
- 4:17Speaker 3: be in. So who cares what the base is, It's
- 4:20Speaker 3: just more these are the assets on the field, so
- 4:22Speaker 3: that when we're changing the way that that front looks
- 4:24Speaker 3: every single snap, every single play, we get the right
- 4:27Speaker 3: people in there to stop the things we're looking to stop.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Right the reason why Buffalo has switched schemes on defense
- 4:33Speaker 2: is because they've hired new head coach Joe Brady. Yep
- 4:37Speaker 2: been in the building quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinators, so
- 4:40Speaker 2: he's quite familiar with Josh Allen and the entire offense.
- 4:42Speaker 2: We guess it's going to be similar in ways, but
- 4:46Speaker 2: of course different in other ways. How does Joe Brady
- 4:50Speaker 2: fit what Buffalo has going on and getting over that hump.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Well, familiarity is huge, right, So obviously they know each
- 4:58Speaker 3: other very well, and it's my understanding Josh Allen was
- 5:02Speaker 3: in the head coaching interviews. I would imagine his input
- 5:07Speaker 3: was very important to the entire organization as to how
- 5:11Speaker 3: they move forward, especially with you know, look like you
- 5:14Speaker 3: have to take into account a new stadium. Got to
- 5:17Speaker 3: make bills fans so happy obviously, you know, but it's
- 5:19Speaker 3: gonna be fun. But you're opening a new stadium that
- 5:21Speaker 3: doesn't happen very often, if at all, for some teams. Right,
- 5:24Speaker 3: So kind of taking all those into consideration, who best
- 5:27Speaker 3: to structure what we've already got, have familiarity with who's
- 5:30Speaker 3: on the team, but have the right vision for you know,
- 5:33Speaker 3: throwing the ball more, I don't know, doing some things.
- 5:35Speaker 3: You're probably gonna see a lot more past attempts. They
- 5:38Speaker 3: may not be deep past attempts, but I think they're
- 5:40Speaker 3: gonna see more.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Well, you mentioned more past attempts than a lot of
- 5:42Speaker 2: people like to go back in Joe Brady's career and
- 5:45Speaker 2: look to the LSU team that he couched the one.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And that's some pretty good players on that team, Joe.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Burrow and Jefferson, and love to think, Okay, if that's
- 5:56Speaker 2: what happened there, then this is what's going to happen.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The twenty twenty sixth iteration of the Bills.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well, I think I don't know.
- 6:03Speaker 3: If you're a fantasy football player, I think you just mean, like,
- 6:05Speaker 3: James Cook is gonna have a lot of pass receptions,
- 6:08Speaker 3: and I think whoever ends up being the pass catchers,
- 6:11Speaker 3: we'll probably know by October who there. But think about it,
- 6:15Speaker 3: he had on the same team, on the same freaking team,
- 6:18Speaker 3: Jamar Chase and Justin Jeffers. It's wild, that's crazy.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Both of those guys are two at the very top
- 6:25Speaker 1: of the entire league.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So I mean, but you have to remember he had
- 6:28Speaker 3: those assets at his disposal. Obviously, Joe Burrow is a
- 6:32Speaker 3: big deal. But you know, we got Josh.
- 6:33Speaker 1: We're good.
- 6:35Speaker 2: The Bills have won six straight playoff games. They usher
- 6:38Speaker 2: in a new era with Joe Brady, a new culture,
- 6:41Speaker 2: a new mindset, some new energy in the building. What
- 6:44Speaker 2: does Buffalo need to do this offseason? What's at the
- 6:47Speaker 2: top of Cynthia Freelan's list as she thinks about the Bills.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I think the way that the Bills need to handle
- 6:54Speaker 3: being in a very tough conference with great quarterbacks. I
- 6:57Speaker 3: know this year was kind of weird with like who
- 6:59Speaker 3: didn't make the playoffs, but handling that, like what is
- 7:02Speaker 3: the how is this new defense going to operate? Because
- 7:05Speaker 3: that defense is when I think Bills, I think defense,
- 7:08Speaker 3: I think defensive front. I think mowing down quarterbacks, and
- 7:13Speaker 3: I think starting with figuring out how this new defense
- 7:16Speaker 3: works is a really big deal. And then of course
- 7:18Speaker 3: giving Josh Allen the reinforcements that he needs. But between
- 7:21Speaker 3: Josh James and the O line, like, that's not a
- 7:24Speaker 3: bad place to start, Like you were, you know, when
- 7:27Speaker 3: I'm looking at that, it's like, okay, well let's just
- 7:29Speaker 3: stretch the field a little bit. But that's more to
- 7:31Speaker 3: me a nice to have figure out the defensive front first,
- 7:33Speaker 3: exactly what you want to do and exactly who can
- 7:36Speaker 3: do it, back it up with the right pieces and
- 7:38Speaker 3: move forward.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Okay, stretching the field. Let's get into this twenty twenty
- 7:42Speaker 2: six draft class. When you think about the drafts class
- 7:45Speaker 2: as a whole, what comes to mind.
- 7:47Speaker 3: It's a deep wide receiver class, which is good, which
- 7:51Speaker 3: that's probably something we're going to be saying for like
- 7:53Speaker 3: the next ten years because part of the other thing
- 7:55Speaker 3: with the nil stuff is, like these wide receivers they
- 7:58Speaker 3: get paid more and thus so it's kind of inspiring
- 8:01Speaker 3: more people that maybe would have been a tight end
- 8:03Speaker 3: or something else to be a wide receiver because think
- 8:05Speaker 3: about money incentives all those things. So this is a
- 8:08Speaker 3: deep wide receiver class. It was the fastest linebacker class.
- 8:12Speaker 1: They were blazing in Combine history.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Fastest in Combine history. Four point five to five was
- 8:17Speaker 3: the average forty time. That's crazy. Second fastest defensive line
- 8:22Speaker 3: class in Combine history. That's pretty crazy as well. And
- 8:26Speaker 3: some of the guys didn't even run, So you know,
- 8:29Speaker 3: there's that. But I think it's you know, you talk
- 8:31Speaker 3: about those positionless players, and I think that's the way
- 8:34Speaker 3: college is moving a little bit more because you know
- 8:37Speaker 3: the Sunny Styles who just absolutely had a just crazy
- 8:40Speaker 3: Combine He was a safety turned linebacker. He's he could
- 8:45Speaker 3: play a positionless middle monster. I don't know, I don't
- 8:49Speaker 3: we need any name for it, but you know, a
- 8:51Speaker 3: positionless player in the middle. He's six' four and he
- 8:55Speaker 3: jumped forty three and a half inches and a ten
- 8:57Speaker 3: foot two broad with a four for six BECAUSE i
- 9:02Speaker 3: knew it was four four seven unofficial four four six.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Officials SO i.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Mean the point is is they're all getting bigger and faster.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Strung you just need to know how you want to use.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Them speaking of wide, receiver, yeap who is a wide
- 9:14Speaker 2: receiver that fits? What? Buffalo?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Well who DID i must you spoke about? SEPARATION i,
- 9:20Speaker 3: listen who DID i mock to the?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Team you Mocked Denzel boston?
- 9:23Speaker 3: Up apparently APPARENTLY i am a like that's Everyone I'M
- 9:28Speaker 3: i don't like being, basic and APPARENTLY i have become.
- 9:31Speaker 2: BASIC a lot of people haven't mocked.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Him that What i'm, saying, LIKE i want to be,
- 9:35Speaker 1: weird BUT i don't.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Know, Okay so if that's your, basics red, zone your
- 9:38Speaker 2: basic answer why.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Tall red zone? Production separation can come down with contested?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Catches, okay do you have a non basic? Answer, well now.
- 9:47Speaker 3: That i'm watching some of these players who who you
- 9:50Speaker 3: won't get because you're not drafting high, enough but WHO
- 9:52Speaker 3: i would love to give. You Caleb Downs, ooh it's
- 9:57Speaker 3: my favorite player in the.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Draft that's safety in the.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Class but also like he's a beast and he's, like
- 10:02Speaker 3: he's just like very very watch his. Film he doesn't get,
- 10:06Speaker 3: tired he's HE'S i don't.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Know i'm a big. Fan i'm a big. FAN i
- 10:09Speaker 1: WISH i.
- 10:10Speaker 3: COULD i, MEAN i feel Like bills fans know a
- 10:12Speaker 3: thing or two about having great safety play and they
- 10:14Speaker 3: would love this.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Again he'll insertion for.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Safety. Safety you, know he's not a. Safety he's a.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Safety who are some other players that you've fallen in
- 10:23Speaker 2: love with as you started to watch a lot more.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Tape they don't have to be available around number twenty,
- 10:27Speaker 2: six but who some guys that you you've been, like, wow,
- 10:30Speaker 2: okay these these are going to be difference makers at
- 10:32Speaker 2: the next.
- 10:33Speaker 3: LEVEL i Love Carnel tate. TOO i would love to
- 10:35Speaker 3: give him to The. Bills he won't last that. Long
- 10:37Speaker 3: he's a wide receiver out Of ohio. State the guy
- 10:39Speaker 3: is such a crisp route, runner so reliable in places
- 10:43Speaker 3: that that's another way to create. SEPARATION i don't expect
- 10:46Speaker 3: him to run the fastest forty. HERE i think it's
- 10:48Speaker 3: going to be a Fast but there's some guy here
- 10:50Speaker 3: who's claiming he ran a four one Seven what? WHAT
- 10:54Speaker 3: i Don't his agent said THAT i feel, like maybe
- 10:57Speaker 3: don't say. That that's, like let the number speak for.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yourself don't don't put that out there and then go
- 11:01Speaker 2: run like a, four like a.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Four four four, right and you're like that's a little.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Different but, No but but ULTIMATELY i think, that you,
- 11:09Speaker 3: KNOW i think that there'sn't gonna be a number of
- 11:10Speaker 3: good options at twenty. Six but those are kind of and,
- 11:13Speaker 3: obviously you, Know I'M i liked R Vel reese's workout
- 11:17Speaker 3: a lot yesterday, too and he's not gonna be A
- 11:19Speaker 3: he's not gonna be available, either you, Know LIKE i
- 11:21Speaker 3: feel bad talking about.
- 11:22Speaker 2: These, yeah you, watch you watch some of these guys work,
- 11:24Speaker 2: out and then you think before they work, out it's
- 11:26Speaker 2: like maybe the range is, this and then they do
- 11:29Speaker 2: their workout and it's like they're, gone see you.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Later, yeah never gonna.
- 11:33Speaker 3: HAPPEN i thought Maybe cash Just Howell, okay would put
- 11:35Speaker 3: maybe he'll fall because there's a.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Perce we were talking about his arms yesterday on the Show.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Shorter what's your take are? You are you a short
- 11:45Speaker 2: arms aren't gonna?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Work are?
- 11:46Speaker 3: You?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Like stop talking about the short. Arms doesn't, matter.
- 11:49Speaker 1: It's it's by how much if he were.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Six let's just just just use a six foot tall human, being,
- 11:55Speaker 3: Right if you're a six foot tall human being and
- 11:58Speaker 3: you have like a whatever thirty four, in people want
- 12:01Speaker 3: these like, big big. Numbers, right if your arms were
- 12:04Speaker 3: twenty four, inches that would be an.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Issue we measured and mine were our twenty twenty one point.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Eight but how tall are?
- 12:13Speaker 3: You i'm five feet, okay if you were another foot
- 12:17Speaker 3: taller and your arms were still that, leg then you
- 12:19Speaker 3: might tip over when you're into three Point.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Chris brown next to, us he had a decent.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Thirty two thirty.
- 12:26Speaker 3: One, yeah, wow, OKAY i have like a freakish arm
- 12:31Speaker 3: LENGTH i, Have like have you measured you? Have i'm
- 12:33Speaker 3: five foot six and mine are like twenty seven or. Something, Free,
- 12:37Speaker 3: like my wingspan is longer than my. Height you're supposed
- 12:40Speaker 3: to be about the same as.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Your hands the same and that's.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Normal so how far and then you, know Like Kawhi
- 12:46Speaker 3: leonard like historically has like like seven inch longer wingspin
- 12:50Speaker 3: than his, height which is. Ridiculous but what, okay you
- 12:53Speaker 3: have it right? Here, yeah he's six.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Two and a, half, right sixteen and a half tw
- 12:56Speaker 2: hundred and fifty three pounds and his.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Arms are thirty thirty.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Quarter, okay so thirty and a quarter plus thirty in
- 13:02Speaker 3: a quarter would be sixty and a. Half, Yes so
- 13:06Speaker 3: then you've got the size of his, chest which isn't,
- 13:09Speaker 3: nothing but sixty and a half is five feet, right
- 13:12Speaker 3: so his chest is at least twelve. INCH i, mean
- 13:15Speaker 3: your chest is way bigger than twenty four. Inches he's,
- 13:18Speaker 3: Fine he's not gonna tip, over you know What i'm.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Saying but, Relax this guy's motor is.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Great and the fatigue factor on him from his actual,
- 13:27Speaker 3: film His TEXAS a AND m, film it's. Great he
- 13:31Speaker 3: doesn't get tired in the fourth, quarter he doesn't lose.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Speed has changed, It SO i don't. Care if it
- 13:36Speaker 3: was severely out of, range then we can talk about.
- 13:39Speaker 2: It Brandon bean jokes about the fact that you know
- 13:42Speaker 2: we're Sitting we're sitting at twenty. Six we've been sitting
- 13:45Speaker 2: around this range for the last several, years like feat.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Like a humble.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Brag, yeah humble, brack humble, brag humble.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Brag picking at the under the, draft humble.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Brag yet but fingers, Crossed like somebody's arm length is
- 13:56Speaker 2: not what they think it will. Be they or they
- 13:58Speaker 2: run a slower forty and they drop to the.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Bills howell could have done that with it with his tiny.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Arms you know they're not.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Tiny but and by the, way if you look at his,
- 14:07Speaker 3: body he has a long, torso so oftentimes people with
- 14:11Speaker 3: long like think about your. Proportions you can run, faster
- 14:13Speaker 3: your center gravity is actually, lower so it could be better.
- 14:17Speaker 1: His so we need to relax with this.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Him, okay it only matters if it only. Matters if
- 14:21Speaker 3: it's like if somebody had your arm length.
- 14:24Speaker 2: And they were and they were six two and a, half.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Then we could talk about their arms would be.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Like not even at their, hips.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Then we could then we could talk about it would.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Be very, interesting then we could talk about.
- 14:34Speaker 3: It, okay but if it's if it's like, Not and
- 14:37Speaker 3: also think about some of these, guys it's like an
- 14:38Speaker 3: eighth of an inch, Different like think about how often
- 14:41Speaker 3: they work, out and think about when you work, out
- 14:44Speaker 3: like my shoulders can get, tight LIKE i lift my
- 14:47Speaker 3: shoulders up like this way too often my.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Posture so just think about.
- 14:50Speaker 3: It if you were able, to like you, know, really
- 14:52Speaker 3: plus it's like dry here and it's you're. Stressed there's
- 14:55Speaker 3: there's it's. COLD i mean warm weather guys who come
- 14:59Speaker 3: to the. Cold it's not not all of us can
- 15:03Speaker 3: keep our hearty buffalo. STOCK i live in Southern. California
- 15:06Speaker 3: now my My midwestern vibes are low. WEAR i wear
- 15:10Speaker 3: long underwear on the field at the. Combine i'm not.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Kidding it's that.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Cold can you bring your snowshoes To?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Indie EVEN i do BRING i, wear but indoors where
- 15:19Speaker 3: there were where there, WERE i were long underwear BECAUSE
- 15:23Speaker 3: i have to beat the whole time, too AND i
- 15:24Speaker 3: shiver with long underwear. On now that MEANS i am,
- 15:27Speaker 3: weak but it also gives you a sense that it's
- 15:29Speaker 3: not that warmer.
- 15:30Speaker 2: There oh what combine? Drill are you most obsessed?
- 15:32Speaker 1: WITH i like anything with a ball on the? Stick,
- 15:34Speaker 1: OKAY i just think it's, funny but none of them really.
- 15:38Speaker 3: MAD i, mean as long as you don't fall out
- 15:40Speaker 3: of range like. SIGNIFICANTLY i will say it was pretty.
- 15:43Speaker 3: COOL i was very close To Sunny styles when he
- 15:46Speaker 3: jumped that forty three and a, half and it was
- 15:48Speaker 3: cool to see the other guys cheering him, on which
- 15:50Speaker 3: is like my favorite part is when they like cheer
- 15:52Speaker 3: for each.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Other so that was that was really.
- 15:54Speaker 2: COOL i want to go back to wide receiver before
- 15:57Speaker 2: we wrap up. Here you said buffer could use some
- 16:00Speaker 2: separation on, offense and a lot of people love to
- 16:04Speaker 2: talk about speed and what speed could do to an
- 16:06Speaker 2: offense or a defense and having that a part of the.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Roster is there a speedy wide receiver who can really
- 16:13Speaker 2: separate that maybe you could find first second.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Round let's wait till they run their forties BEFORE i
- 16:19Speaker 3: say who's like super super speedy or. Not i'm looking
- 16:22Speaker 3: at these guys in this draft AND i think all
- 16:24Speaker 3: of them are. FAST i don't really care about incremental.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Speed it doesn't usually pay, off, right the four to
- 16:28Speaker 3: two guys doesn't really always.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Translate do analytics tell you?
- 16:33Speaker 1: That?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Okay, yes because remember you have to wear pads when
- 16:36Speaker 3: you play, football and you're never running a straight. Line
- 16:38Speaker 3: if you were to run straight line, untouched you could
- 16:41Speaker 3: score a touchdown. Too i'm saying you straight line untouched
- 16:46Speaker 3: for me and coach exactly. Right but no one's, untouched
- 16:50Speaker 3: no one's running a straight, line and no one Like
- 16:52Speaker 3: that's just not how it. Works Who kunaku is the
- 16:55Speaker 3: best example of. That he ran a very slow, forty
- 16:59Speaker 3: and that what you.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Say he's one of the.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Best, yeah that get, guy so you got to know
- 17:03Speaker 3: about what you're expecting to. Do he can also block
- 17:05Speaker 3: like very. Well SO i don't know all those things
- 17:07Speaker 3: matter put, together.
- 17:08Speaker 2: As analytics relate to the scouting combine and the process
- 17:13Speaker 2: over the next couple, months these guys getting ready to be.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Drafted what's the what's the craziest tie from analytics to
- 17:20Speaker 2: the combine or as you're kind of diving into these
- 17:23Speaker 2: players that you think doesn't get talked about, enough that's really.
- 17:26Speaker 3: IMPORTANT i love the old lineman AND i love watching their.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Feet this is not really something For buffalo because you
- 17:31Speaker 3: guys are great with, that but ultimately watching how low
- 17:35Speaker 3: they can keep their hips in the first ten split
- 17:36Speaker 3: of the forty is something that really does actually translate
- 17:39Speaker 3: to on the field not being a. Wastebender so you
- 17:42Speaker 3: don't want to be a. Wastebender you, stay keep the butt,
- 17:44Speaker 3: down keep your butt, down stay lo and move. Fast
- 17:46Speaker 3: stay lo and move. Fast what do the.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Next two months look like for you as we lead
- 17:50Speaker 2: up to THE Nfl? Draft what are you up?
- 17:51Speaker 1: To, well it's a great.
