- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:04Epstein Chronicles. A couple of days ago, we were talking
- 0:07a little bit about Leon Black and how he was
- 0:10supposed to be deposed as part of the Bank of
- 0:14America lawsuit filed by the Epstein survivors. Well as predicted,
- 0:19Bank of America has entered into a settlement with the
- 0:22Epstein survivors, So that also means that Leon Black obviously
- 0:27is not going to be deposed, and honestly, I doubt
- 0:30that we're ever gonna get Leon Black under oath. Talking
- 0:34about Jeffrey Epstein, you know that Congress isn't going to
- 0:37do it. And anytime there's a lawsuit that pops up
- 0:41that has to do with Leon Black, he always finds
- 0:45an exit because he has a big bank account. I mean,
- 0:48he paid sixty two million down in the USVII to
- 0:51get out of that trouble. He also paid guselle Ganieva
- 0:55a king's ransom during their dispute. So it's not like
- 1:00Leon Black is against spending a bunch of money to
- 1:02try and get out from underneath the shadow of Jeffrey Epstein.
- 1:05The problem for Leon Black, though, is there's no escape.
- 1:11Maybe with legacy media, maybe with people that want this
- 1:15to go away, But when it comes to people who
- 1:18know the story, who know the people that were truly
- 1:21involved and breaking news, it's not Ted Waite. Why Congress
- 1:25is wasting their time opposing Ted Waite, I'll never understand,
- 1:29especially considering they've never even spoken to Leon Black. Have
- 1:33you guys brought in Adriana Ross or Leslie Groff? But sure,
- 1:38let's talk to Ted Waite. But considering the way that
- 1:41the Congressional Committee has conducted itself, is anybody surprised that
- 1:46they're trying to waste time and bring in Ted Waite
- 1:49instead of somebody of consequence. How about you guys talk
- 1:53to Nicholas tartag leone put him under oath, Or how
- 1:56about the OIG investigators that investigated what happened in that
- 2:00jail cell. Why don't you guys talk about the NPA. Well,
- 2:05the reason is they're not trying to get to the
- 2:07bottom of what happened. They're trying to placate you. They
- 2:12want you to focus on other things, certainly not this.
- 2:15And as far as Bank of America is concerned, the
- 2:18last thing they want to do is have some drawn
- 2:20out lawsuit where they end up just settling like JP
- 2:23Morgan anyway, So they took a look at the allegations,
- 2:27they took a look at the paperwork, and they were like,
- 2:29you know what, why don't we just settle here? And honestly,
- 2:33that's in their best interest because if this got to discovery,
- 2:38if it got to a point where those depositions started
- 2:41coming in, it could have got real bad for Bank
- 2:44of America real quick. And I think Bank of America
- 2:47saw the writing on the wall, considering the lawsuits that
- 2:50have been filed previously against the financial sector and settled
- 2:55for a gigantic amount of money. So Bank of America
- 2:59was very aware of that, and when they went into this,
- 3:02that was probably the goal, right see what they had
- 3:05get the initial you know, back and forth discovery process going,
- 3:10and once they saw the evidence or the proposed evidence,
- 3:15they decided that it's in their best interest just to
- 3:18cut their losses here and settle up. And if I
- 3:22was an investor at Bank of America, I'd be happy
- 3:25about that. This article was published by ABC News and
- 3:31the headline Bank of America reaches proposed non binding settlement
- 3:35in pseuit alledging it aided Jeffrey Epstein's crimes. This article
- 3:40was authored by Peter Charlembeau and James Hill. Bank of
- 3:45America has reached a proposed, non binding settlement in a
- 3:48lawsuit that alleged that the bank helped facilitate Jeffrey Epstein's
- 3:53trafficking operation. According to court records, the proposed class action compliant,
- 3:59filed in October of twenty twenty five, alleged that Bank
- 4:03of America knowingly provided the financial support and the veneer
- 4:07of institutional legitimacy to Abstein and ignored suspicious transactions by
- 4:12the late disgraced financier. And look, there's a paper trail
- 4:15for all of that, and that's why you see the
- 4:18bank so willing to settle. Don't think for a minute
- 4:23that Bank of America doesn't have the best lawyers, that
- 4:25they don't have a legal team filled with high priced
- 4:28lawyers and hotshots. And if they could have found any
- 4:32way out of the settlement, right, anyway out of the suit,
- 4:35that's what they would have done. A notice on the
- 4:39case docket said the lawyers for the bank and the
- 4:41victims reached a settlement and principle, the terms of the
- 4:45settlement were not immediately disclosed and would need to be
- 4:48approved by a federal judge. US District Judge Jed Raykoff
- 4:52had previously scheduled the case to go to trial on
- 4:55May eleventh. Well, being a bit familiar with Judge Rakoff,
- 5:00my guess is he's going to approve this and let
- 5:02it go through. I think it's in the best interest
- 5:06of the court obviously, if he can have both parties
- 5:09come to the table and find a middle ground, that's
- 5:13obviously the goal. So I think Judge Rakoff is going
- 5:18to okay this deal, and we should see this settlement
- 5:21kept moving relatively quickly. A court hearing to consider the
- 5:26settlement proposal is scheduled for April second in federal court
- 5:30in New York, according to the docket. Bank of America
- 5:34declined to comment on the proposed settlement. To ABC News,
- 5:37an attorney for the victims called the proposed settlement one
- 5:41more step on the road to much deserve justice. Well, look,
- 5:45I agree, right, there's no doubt that there's really no
- 5:48other avenue for the abused and the aggrieved to get
- 5:52compensation here. Nobody's going to go to prison, so all
- 5:56that's left is making it a financial burden on these people,
- 6:02and I know that's not what any of us want,
- 6:05but unfortunately that's the way the system set up. If
- 6:08you're rich enough, you can buy your way out of
- 6:10just about anything. The women entrapped and abused by Jeffrey
- 6:14Epstein and Glenn Maxwell started a monumental reckoning with their
- 6:18brave voices and fearlessness. The road to justice for these
- 6:22women has been long and trying, Attorney Cigarett McCauley said
- 6:26in a statement, and I look back to where this
- 6:28started seven years ago and where it is today, and
- 6:32I'm kind of blown away. Honestly. The amount of progress
- 6:36that's been made as far as making people aware of
- 6:39what's going on is monumental. Now, of course we all
- 6:43want those arrests, we all want justice, but I think
- 6:46one of the first steps toward that occurring is more
- 6:50people being aware of what went on and more people
- 6:52understanding that this most certainly is not some conspiracy theory.
- 6:58Though the terms of the settlement are known, a proposed
- 7:01resolution of the case would likely scuttle an upcoming deposition
- 7:05of Apollo Global Management co founder Leon Black, who was
- 7:09scheduled to sit for questioning on March twenty six. Black
- 7:13resigned from his role at Apollo in twenty twenty one
- 7:16after an inquiry into his relationship with Epstein, which found
- 7:20that Black paid Epstein one hundred and fifty eight million
- 7:23dollars for tax and a state planning advice. And I
- 7:26remember when the push was on to get Leon Black out.
- 7:31That was a concerted effort by a lot of people.
- 7:34And the same goes for Glenn Dubin, the same goes
- 7:37for Les Wexner, and also the beginning of the end
- 7:40for Prince Andrew. All of them were sacked due to
- 7:43their nonsense with Epstein during the initial investigation, after Epstein
- 7:49was arrested and certainly after he died. So the people
- 7:52that you see stepping down now due to their ties
- 7:55to Epstein is just a continuation from what was going
- 7:58on back in twenty nineteen all the way through twenty
- 8:03twenty two or so. And when Leon Black was first
- 8:06called on the carpet, it was a battle, right, he
- 8:09wasn't going to go down without a fight. But again
- 8:12the evidence is abundant, and Leon Black at Apollo, they
- 8:18understood that Leon Black had to step down. Now, does
- 8:21that mean that Leon Black had nothing to do with
- 8:22the company that he wasn't still you know, in the shadows,
- 8:26of course not. But to act like Leon Black, as
- 8:28somebody knew in this story is absolutely insane. This man
- 8:34has been in the center of what Epstein was up
- 8:36to for a long ass time, and whether you believe
- 8:40the trafficking allegations or not, I have a hard time
- 8:43believing anybody thinks that Leon Black was giving Jeffrey Epstein
- 8:47one hundred and fifty eight million dollars for tax advice.
- 8:50In a statement from January, Black's attorney said his client
- 8:54had no awareness of Epstein's criminal activity and there is
- 8:57absolutely no truth to any of the alley against mister Black.
- 9:01The lawsuit against Bank of America alleged that those payments
- 9:04from Black and other transactions by Epstein should have raised
- 9:08concern by the bank, which fell to alert law enforcement
- 9:12as to Epstein's crimes before it was far too late. Well,
- 9:17that's the problem when you don't file the stars. If
- 9:20you would have filed the suspicious activity reports, you would
- 9:23have to worry you'd be covered. You did your job,
- 9:26You filed the stars, and the government chose to ignore them.
- 9:30But as the financial institution, if you didn't do that.
- 9:33If you didn't file those stars, you're now responsible. It's
- 9:36on you. And obviously a Bank of America and all
- 9:41of these banks that were involved were way more interested
- 9:45in making money than protecting anybody. Epstein committed these crimes
- 9:51by means of not only his own extraordinary wealth and power,
- 9:55but through access to funding and financial support from both
- 9:58individuals and institution, including Bank of America. Egregiously, Bank of
- 10:03America had a plethora of information regarding Epstein's sex trafficking operation,
- 10:08but shose profit over protecting victims. The lawsuit alleged, well,
- 10:13that's exactly what they did. I don't even think that's
- 10:16an allegation. Honestly, does anyone out there really believe that
- 10:21the bank had no idea that these transactions were suspicious
- 10:26and that they should have been flagged and notated. Of
- 10:29course they knew, but again they didn't care. And now
- 10:34it's going to cost them. But unfortunately, the damage is
- 10:37already done and nobody's going to really be held to account.
- 10:42It's going to cost them financially, but that's it. Bank
- 10:46of America had unsuccessfully attempted to persuade the court to
- 10:50dismiss the case. By arguing that the suit was based
- 10:53on nothing more than allegations that it provided routine services
- 10:57to customers who at the time had no known cannet
- 11:00to Epstein's trafficking ring. Bank of America opposes trafficking in
- 11:05all of its forms, but this suit attempts to radically
- 11:08expand the liability for banks, holding them liable for providing
- 11:12ordinary banking services to individuals one or more steps removed
- 11:16from a trafficker. On November twenty twenty five, filing from
- 11:20the bank's lawyer said, Meanwhile, they have no problem canceling
- 11:24or closing your account if you're doing something that don't like,
- 11:28shopping somewhere that don't like, donating somewhere that don't like.
- 11:32But Jeffrey Epstein and his friends, Ah, come on, what
- 11:35are you crazy. We can't miss out on that money.
- 11:38We got to make sure that we're banking the beast.
- 11:41And that's always been the story, right The financial sector
- 11:45is going to do what the financial sector does, whether
- 11:48it's Jeffrey Epstein, whether it's some god awful war, or
- 11:53whether it's the next monster in waiting. One thing you
- 11:55can count on is the involvement of the scoundrels in
- 11:59the financial sector. All right, folks, that's gonna do it
- 12:03for this one. All the information that goes with this
- 12:07episode can be found in the description box.
