- 0:05Oh my goodness, 100. When I first started out almost two years ago,
- 0:10I was excited to get episode one out and then episode 10 felt so big.
- 0:15And now we're at 100, over 50,000 downloads of the different episodes.

- 0:46Thank you for every single review and rating.
- 0:49Every single one matters a lot. Thank you for sharing this podcast with your
- 0:54friends, telling people about it.
- 0:55I've had people tell me that their spouse founded the podcast and gave it to them.
- 1:00I've heard had people tell me that their mom or their, it's usually their mom,
- 1:05I was gonna say their mom or dad, it's usually their mom that finds it and gives it to them.
- 1:10Thank you for sharing my words and helping other people improve their health
- 1:15through my voice and through the education that I provide.
- 1:19So today, I'm going going to give you the top 10 most popular episodes of all
- 1:25time, and a little bit of each one so that if you've missed one, you can go back.
- 1:31Because obviously, if they're the top 10 out of 100, they're the things that
- 1:35people want to hear the most.
- 1:36So if you've missed any of these, now you know what to go and listen to.
- 1:40Alright, so from backwards order, so number 10, all the way up to the top.
- 1:45Popular one. Number 10, it's actually like 10 and 11, is 60 and 61.
- 1:51Now, 60 and 61 are the episodes where I went through all of the root causes
- 1:56and helped you figure out your own root causes. So they are popular episodes.
- 2:02The action step, I'm going to try to give you an action step for each one.
- 2:05But before I say that, I want to say, please don't get overwhelmed.
- 2:09Do not do all 10 action steps.
- 2:10Just figure out which episode that you need to listen to or that like speaks
- 2:15to you the most or you need to go review or you didn't listen to the first time.
- 2:19Pick an episode and go to that one.
- 2:21The action steps for episodes 60 and 61 is to figure out your own root cause.
- 2:27If you do not figure out your own root causes of Hashimoto's,
- 2:30you can't make effective progress.
- 2:33You cannot know exactly what to do going forward to improve your health.
- 2:38If you don't know your root causes, and take action on them,
- 2:41then you're just going to be floundering
- 2:43around waiting for your doctor to increase your medication dose.
- 2:48And then eventually, you know, your thyroid is going to be dead.
- 2:51I've heard from people and that's exactly what our doctor says.
- 2:53Well, we're going to give you this medication.
- 2:55And after a couple of years, your thyroid will not be around anymore.
- 3:01It'll be dead. And then you'll just be on medication for life.
- 3:04Easy peasy. I'm like, like, wait, what?
- 3:06What? No, no.
- 3:08Let's support your body. Let's help your body, like figure out what's going
- 3:13on so that your immune system isn't going haywire.
- 3:16So episode 60 and 61, figuring out your root causes, and then your action step
- 3:20is to take action on your root causes.
- 3:23Episode or most popular episode, top episode, how am I going to say that?
- 3:27Top episode, number nine.
- 3:29What is a flare. It is episode number 27. A flare or a flare up is when your
- 3:36Hashimoto's gets worse and it can, it maybe get worse and stays worse,
- 3:41or maybe it flares up and then it flares back down.
- 3:44The action step for that, again, it's look for the root causes.
- 3:48Specifically, when you are in a flare, you want to evaluate what changed, what brought this on.
- 3:54Was there a simple or a single action?
- 3:58Was it stress? Was it a season change? Was it, you know, a diet change?
- 4:04What was it for you that brought on the flair? And it's always addressing the
- 4:08root action or the root cause so you can take action.
- 4:11Okay, top episode number eight is number 44. And that is the diet maze.
- 4:17In that episode, I helped you figure out what diet is right for you because
- 4:22there's so many different diets and every single person or every single diet
- 4:26has somebody telling you, if you have an autoimmune condition,
- 4:30you need to try this. This is going to work for you.
- 4:32Well, will it? In episode 44, I help you figure out what will work for you because
- 4:37you are unique. You're a bio-individual.
- 4:40There's nobody else on earth exactly like you with your circumstances,
- 4:44with your environment, with your everything.
- 4:48You are unique. And so in episode 44, I walk you through how to evaluate what
- 4:53type of diet to implement for yourself, and then how to evaluate how it's going. That is episode 44.
- 5:00Number seven is episode 21, which is all about metabolism and your weight.
- 5:07One of the very top complaints with Hashimoto's and hypothyroid is my metabolism
- 5:14slowed down and my weight increased.
- 5:17What can I do? So episode 21 is all about that.
- 5:22It's what you can do to increase your metabolism naturally and how you can lose weight. So episode 21.
- 5:30And And in the action step, I talked about what's called the metabolism essentials stack.
- 5:36I'm going to talk about a couple of products in several of these top 10 episodes.
- 5:41And the metabolism essentials stack has a few of those in it.
- 5:46Protandim NRF2 is my number one recommended product.
- 5:51It's five herbs. It's very natural and it activates your body to do what your
- 5:56body is supposed to do. That's always the goal, right?
- 5:58Well, your body creates antioxidants, and we need those to fight all of the bad stuff.
- 6:04Your immune system needs to have the ingredients, needs the weapons, right?
- 6:10Antioxidants are some of the most powerful weapons that your immune system has,
- 6:14and we want to help your immune system do the right thing with them.
- 6:17So protandum NRF2 is my number one recommended thing. Five.
- 6:23It has been proven to lower oxidative stress by an average of 40% in just 30
- 6:28days, which is phenomenal.
- 6:30In older people who have more oxidative stress, it actually lowers it even more
- 6:34because it gets you down to a baseline to producing your own antioxidants so
- 6:39that you can reduce the oxidative stress.
- 6:41That's kind of like, I'd look at oxidative stress like the browning of a banana
- 6:44or the rusting of a cow, of a cow, no, the rusting of a car.
- 6:49It's happening at a cellular level on you, every single cell.
- 6:54And we do not want that because that causes disease and aging.
- 6:57So we want to get rid of it.
- 6:59Protandim NRF2 is part of the metabolism essential stack that I talk about in episode 21.
- 7:06And also there is Protandim NRF1, which activates your mitochondria.
- 7:12What are the mitochondria?
- 7:13They're the powerhouse or the energy producer of the cell. And it activates
- 7:17that because if you want more energy, well, you have to energize every single
- 7:20little cell in your body, right?
- 7:22So that is what we talked about in episode 21.
- 7:25So I want to give you the overview now so that when, you know,
- 7:28the other episodes mention it, then you already have an idea.
- 7:31So all links, of course, will be down in the show notes.
- 7:35Episode or the top most popular episode number six is episode number five.
- 7:41And that is all about medications.
- 7:43And of course, this one's popular because when you go to the doctor and you
- 7:47get a diagnosis of hypothyroid or Hashimoto's, they just give you medications.
- 7:51So you want to know about your medications.
- 7:53And in episode five, I teach you about T4 medications and T3 medications, what's the difference.
- 8:00And I hope that I can't remember exactly what I said in episode five,
- 8:04but I hope that I released you of any shame.
- 8:07A lot of people tell me they want to get off their medications,
- 8:10like that is their number one goal.
- 8:12But just know this, if your thyroid is not producing the little ignition switch
- 8:18for every single cell in your body, it's okay. It's
- 8:22to take that as a medication. If you're not getting something in your diet, then we supplement.
- 8:27If your body is not creating what it's supposed to create, like insulin for
- 8:33somebody who's diabetic, if it's not creating insulin, then you need to have that as a medication.
- 8:38It's the same thing if your thyroid is not producing enough thyroid hormone.
- 8:43It's okay to take it as a medication. I want you to be able to release any shame
- 8:49or guilt that you might carry in needing a medication.
- 8:53It's okay if your body isn't producing it or if it's not converting the T4 to T3.
- 8:59It's okay to take a medication.
- 9:02Obviously, we want your body to do what your body is supposed to do.
- 9:06Creating your own T4 and enough of it and converting that to T3 and enough of
- 9:11it is obviously the ideal. deal.
- 9:13But if you're not there right now, it's okay to take the medication.
- 9:18So that is episode five, which was the top number six.
- 9:23So confusing because it's five and six, and that's going to happen again.
- 9:26Okay, the most popular episode number five was my story.
- 9:32It's episode number one, where I share my story of what I went through in finding
- 9:37my diagnosis and how much I really, really, really, really did not want a thyroid diagnosis.
- 9:43And I especially did not want an autoimmune story. Your action step for that,
- 9:48well, I did not tell you at the time because I didn't know that I would have an app someday.
- 9:52I have an app. So your action step after listening to my story is to come to
- 9:57the app and share in the community. If you're comfortable with it, share your story.
- 10:01The community right now, it is still teeny tiny.
- 10:04Come over to the community, introduce yourself, share your story,
- 10:08and let's support each other.
- 10:10So number one is my top five episode of all time.
- 10:15Number four is number 11, podcast episode number 11, and that is four foods to avoid.
- 10:23And like I said, back in the diet one, which was 44, figuring out what you can
- 10:27eat and what is going to help you combat any inflammation and any disease process
- 10:33in your body, that's a huge topic.
- 10:35So it is, it is the fourth most, most popular episode, and that is four foods to avoid.
- 10:41Those four foods are gluten, dairy, soy, and sugar.
- 10:46And I explain why in each one, about each one, how to know if it,
- 10:51if you should take it out of your diet, if you should try that and how to evaluate.
- 10:55So the four foods to avoid that is episode number 11 and each one reducing it.
- 11:02The goal is to get your body working like your body is supposed to work, right?
- 11:07And since you are a unique person, what works for somebody might not work for you.
- 11:11It's all figuring out what is going to be the right choice and the right step for you.
- 11:16Episode number four is the third most popular of all time.
- 11:20And episode four is about natural remedies for Hashimoto's.
- 11:25And this one did not surprise me at all that it was number three,
- 11:29because people want natural remedies with COVID especially, but I feel like throughout time.
- 11:36But with COVID especially, people have been looking for ways to help their bodies
- 11:42do what their bodies are supposed to do without pharmaceuticals.
- 11:45There has been a giant schism between people and the pharmaceutical industry.
- 11:53People are less and less trustworthy of what drugs are going to do for them.
- 11:59And I am really sorry for everything that happened during COVID.
- 12:03And you know, it's not just COVID though. I feel like we've been leading up to this.
- 12:08COVID just sped up this distrust and exposing the problems within the pharmaceutical
- 12:16world and within Western medicine, because there are significant problems.
- 12:21But people want to feel better and people are wanting to do things naturally.
- 12:26So in episode number four, I talk Talk about those natural remedies.
- 12:30And again, it's going to the root causes. It's figuring out,
- 12:33you know, what is causing your immune system to go haywire.
- 12:38When you address that cause, you're going to be able to fix or to help what's downstream from that.
- 12:46You know, if you're on the stream and all of a sudden you see a whole lot of
- 12:50little yellow rubber duckies floating towards you, you can scoop them out and that's great.
- 12:55You're going to clean up the stream. but unless you go
- 12:58and find who's dumping the rubber duckies into the
- 13:01stream you're not going to really make a difference right it's
- 13:04the same thing with your health you can address the symptoms as they are and
- 13:09you can try to feel better and every time something pops up you can address
- 13:12that but unless you get to the root of it unless you attack and address what's
- 13:19causing it you're not going to make an effective change.
- 13:23We have to address the root causes. And so a lot of those natural remedies.
- 13:28Are addressing the root causes. Vitamin D is one of them that I mentioned in
- 13:33that episode, because vitamin D is one of the things that has a direct correlation with antibody levels.
- 13:42Vitamin D, we call it a vitamin, it's actually a hormone, and I have dedicated
- 13:46several different episodes to vitamin D. You can check those out.
- 13:49Vitamin D is huge in your immune system, and we want to make sure that you get enough of it.
- 13:55You can make some from sun exposure, especially if you are in the summer.
- 14:00But if you're always wearing sunscreen, or if you're always wearing protective clothing,
- 14:04or if you live north of a certain latitude or longitude line,
- 14:10whichever way it goes across the globe, not up and down, if you live north of
- 14:14that, you can't make enough from the sun exposure,
- 14:17even if you're outside naked, like all day long in the wintertime,
- 14:20you literally cannot make enough.
- 14:23So vitamin D supplementation is one thing I talked about.
- 14:26And then I believe I also talked about selenium and the importance of making
- 14:31sure you're taking a multi-nutrient, you know, you can call them multivitamin.
- 14:35I like multi-nutrient because I want vitamins and I want minerals and I want
- 14:39adaptogens, which are the things that help your body adapt to stress and respond to stress better.
- 14:44So again, what I take is the Protandim NRF2 and NRF1.
- 14:50I talked about that a little bit ago. And then I also take a vitamin D all winter long.
- 14:55I take a little bit more. And then in the summer, I take a smaller dose of the
- 14:58vitamin D and I do get outside.
- 15:00And then I also take a multi-nutrient, which provides the building blocks that
- 15:06my body needs, the selenium that it needs, because you need a specific amount
- 15:09of selenium to have a well functioning thyroid.
- 15:13And there's a lot of things that you need a specific amount of.
- 15:16So I take a multi-nutrient every single day.
- 15:19And I talk about those natural remedies in episode four.
- 15:23I do have a couple other episodes that I talk about, you know,
- 15:28supplements and herbs and things like that.
- 15:30There is also a bit about that in the Holistic Hashimoto's course,
- 15:34because I am talking about that genetic component when you're in the course.
- 15:39We talk about each and every single aspect of the autoimmune condition,
- 15:44you know, gut aspect or a gut root cause, a genetic root cause, and then triggers.
- 15:50And so in the course, I am talking to you about nutrigenomics,
- 15:54which is taking nutrition and targeting your genetics, turning on and off genes.
- 16:01And that's what protandum NRF2 and NRF1 do.
- 16:05I want my protective genes to be turned back on.
- 16:08And I want those mitochondria genes, the ones that tell my body,
- 16:13hey, let's, you know, increase the mitochondria, let's have healthier mitochondria in the cells.
- 16:18I want that to happen too, because I need cellular energy.
- 16:22So that was episode three, or it was episode four, top episode three.
- 16:29It's a little confusing.
- 16:30The second most popular episode of all time is also a little confusing.
- 16:34Second most popular of all time is episode number three. And that one is all about thyroid labs.
- 16:39Because that one was so popular, I did a small series recently where I talked
- 16:46about T4, specifically all the different types of T4.
- 16:49And I did the same thing about T3. So those are more recent episodes.
- 16:54Episode number three is all about all of the thyroid labs, what's important
- 16:58and what you need to know.
- 16:59And I also did an episode, it was number 39 of how to get your own labs.
- 17:05Because sometimes your doctor can't or won't order the labs that you want or need.
- 17:10And you can order your own labs, at least in the United States.
- 17:14And I teach you how to do that in episode 39.
- 17:16Hopefully your doctor can order exactly what you need.
- 17:19But sometimes the insurance companies handcuff them and tell them they cannot
- 17:23order what you actually need.
- 17:25They can only do what the insurance companies say.
- 17:28And like I said, Western healthcare is broken.
- 17:31So the second most popular episode of all time is episode number three,
- 17:35and that is all about your thyroid labs.
- 17:37And then episode, top episode number one is episode number two.
- 17:42And that is, were you just diagnosed?
- 17:45Here are three things to do today. And I want to leave you with these three
- 17:49things. Do them every single day.
- 17:52And they're very simple, but they're things that we don't always do.
- 17:55And the first one is feel your emotions.
- 17:59Allow yourself to feel whatever you're feeling. It's not, you know, it's not bad.
- 18:04If you get your diagnosis and you're feeling relieved that finally you know
- 18:08a name for it, great, feel relieved.
- 18:11If you get your diagnosis and you're feeling overwhelmed and you're feeling
- 18:14confused, feel the emotions, don't just stuff them.
- 18:19I have heard it said by experts that an emotion, it takes you about 90 seconds to feel and process.
- 18:25And if you don't allow yourself to feel it, if you just stuff it,
- 18:28then it will come back later.
- 18:30It is like pushing a beach ball down under the water and it will pop back up.
- 18:34So just feel your emotions.
- 18:35Your emotions are not right or wrong. Taking action, like taking action when
- 18:40you're feeling angry and lashing out, well, that can be wrong.
- 18:43Talk about that with my kids. But actually feeling the emotion,
- 18:47like feeling anger, feeling sadness, feeling happiness, feeling relief,
- 18:52feeling confusion, the emotions are not wrong.
- 18:54Feel your feelings and then breathe.
- 18:57Take some deep breaths with your belly and breathe through it.
- 19:01It's okay. And then have compassion on yourself.
- 19:03You didn't cause this. You didn't bring it upon yourself.
- 19:07You might have taken some actions which did like hasten this or triggered it,
- 19:11but it was not on purpose.
- 19:13And I don't want you to carry any guilt or shame.
- 19:16So the last thing in episode number two of Actions to Do Today is have compassion on yourself.
- 19:24You did not cause this. You're going to be okay.
- 19:27Come over to the app, share your story, and enroll in the Holistic Hashimoto's
- 19:33course, because that's going to shortcut your time.
- 19:35You can go back and you can listen to all 100 episodes. I am so grateful for everybody who listens.
- 19:40But if you want to shortcut your time, if you are new to this episode or to
- 19:44this podcast, and to me, if you want to to shortcut your time,
- 19:47join the holistic Hashimoto's course.
- 19:50I give you everything that you're going to need step-by-step so that you can
- 19:54feel like yourself again.
- 19:55This podcast is for informational and educational purposes only.
- 19:59Please discuss any concerns and plans with your trusted healthcare professional.
- 20:03If you found this episode helpful, will you please share it with a friend?
- 20:06I'll see you next week on the health with Hashimoto's podcast.
