- 0:35Speaker 2: You can trust Superior Air Repair because you can trust
- 0:37Speaker 2: in me. When the sun goes down on my side
- 0:50Speaker 2: of town, that lonesome feeling comes to.
- 0:54Speaker 4: My door and the whole world turns blue.
- 1:02Speaker 5: There's a rundown bar across the road.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Hey, thanks for being with us on a Tuesday.
- 1:12Speaker 1: This portion of the program is brought to you by
- 1:15Speaker 1: Superior Air Repair. I mentioned a couple of things kind
- 1:22Speaker 1: of mid-show, not necessarily breaking stuff, but stuff nevertheless, including
- 1:33Speaker 1: the fact that Tennessee has sold a.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Patch on its jersey to for $ 120 million over 10 years.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I mean, that's pretty good, I think.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Russ Dellinger, who I follow and who is connected in
- 2:01Speaker 1: the world of college football, is talking about what everybody's
- 2:12Speaker 1: talking about right now. With the headline, could the SEC
- 2:17Speaker 1: expel LSU?
- 2:20Speaker 3: There's a lot of.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Rhetoric going around right now. I don't think you can
- 2:26Speaker 1: pay attention to a lot of the rhetoric. We will
- 2:36Speaker 1: have a much clearer picture on Thursday after the appellate
- 2:42Speaker 1: judge gives his ruling.
- 2:45Speaker 3: When I say a clearer picture, I think it's clearer
- 2:54Speaker 3: for the time being.
- 2:59Speaker 1: If it gives the power to the SEC, Lane has
- 3:06Speaker 1: already said, and whether that's true or not.
- 3:09Speaker 3: That he will abide by by the ruling. So we will.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I don't know enough about the law to understand all
- 3:25Speaker 1: of that. What I do understand is no matter what
- 3:32Speaker 1: the ruling is, there will be more courts involved. And
- 3:41Speaker 1: Would the Supreme Court take this up? Well, if they did,
- 3:45Speaker 1: it'd be a year from now, right? Congress says they're
- 3:52Speaker 1: taking up the College Sports Act. If they ever get back,
- 3:55Speaker 1: I guess they come back after Labor Day. I'd prefer
- 3:58Speaker 1: they stay gone and not come back at all.
- 4:06Speaker 3: So we'll see.
- 4:07Speaker 1: We'll have a little more clarity of purpose. I'm pretty
- 4:11Speaker 1: sure that A & M and Missouri State are going
- 4:13Speaker 1: to play at 6 o'clock at Kyle Field on Saturday night.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm fairly certain that that game is going to take place.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm fairly certain that LSU and Clemson are going to
- 4:25Speaker 1: take place, despite threats from the Clemson president or chancellor saying, hey,
- 4:30Speaker 1: we're not going to play LSU.
- 4:33Speaker 3: That story came out early today.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And there's been nothing else said about that because my
- 4:40Speaker 1: guess is ESPN put a call into the president and
- 4:45Speaker 1: threatened to kill him. That's how ESPN works. By the way,
- 4:51Speaker 1: they have people, uh, they are the Darth Vader of business.
- 4:57Speaker 1: They're certainly the Darth Vader of college sports of most sports. Um,
- 5:06Speaker 1: So we hadn't heard all of that huffing and puffing
- 5:09Speaker 1: kind of stuff, right? And I don't expect any more
- 5:13Speaker 1: of that. Dabo called it a bear. I got to
- 5:16Speaker 1: tell you, LSU's a 10-point favorite Saturday. I'm kind of
- 5:26Speaker 1: leaning toward.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Picking an upset.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I'm not betting. I mean, I don't bet. But I'm
- 5:32Speaker 1: kind of leaning toward picking an upset in that game.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I feel like the stars are kind of aligned. And
- 5:43Speaker 1: I feel like Lane and LSU are spending a lot
- 5:48Speaker 1: of time on this stuff. I know they're practicing. I
- 5:56Speaker 1: know they're getting ready for Clemson. There's a lot of
- 5:59Speaker 1: stuff swirling. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:01Speaker 3: And I don't think that's Good for them. We'll see.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Talked about this in the first hour. Some quotes attributed
- 6:18Speaker 3: to Marcel Reed from USA Today were released today ahead
- 6:22Speaker 3: of the college football season. I think they've been sitting
- 6:25Speaker 3: on this.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But Marcel said in April interview, he took down the Longhorns.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And every Aggie fan is going, yeah, that's our quarterback.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He did acknowledge that he's lost twice. He said, we
- 6:49Speaker 1: don't like Texas. I don't like Texas. You got to
- 6:52Speaker 1: hate them. I hate burnt orange. It sucks that we've
- 6:58Speaker 1: lost to them twice, but they're coming here this year,
- 7:01Speaker 1: so they're going to have to pay. I've got something
- 7:04Speaker 1: for them for sure. Look, this stuff, like I said,
- 7:12Speaker 1: it's only talk, but fans are going to love it.
- 7:17Speaker 1: That's what rivalries are. And who knows where either of
- 7:25Speaker 1: these teams are going to be.
- 7:29Speaker 3: The Friday after Thanksgiving, right? I mean.
- 7:34Speaker 3: We don't know. We think they're going to be good.
- 7:36Speaker 1: We think this will be the third year in a
- 7:37Speaker 1: row that this game will have perhaps playoff implications and
- 7:44Speaker 1: SEC implications. That's my guess anyway. That's what I think
- 7:53Speaker 1: is going to happen. Let's see what else is going on.
- 7:59Speaker 1: This story just gets worse. I'm telling you. I talked
- 8:04Speaker 1: to a big TCU fan today. Tried to get a
- 8:07Speaker 1: little feel set. Where are the fans? Where are the fans,
- 8:13Speaker 1: first of all, on Sonny?
- 8:16Speaker 3: After just that disaster in Dublin?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Hey, that's what we're going to call the video, the
- 8:23Speaker 1: disaster in Dublin. Losing to North Carolina and the fighting Belichicks.
- 8:28Speaker 3: They were terrible.
- 8:31Speaker 7: In.
- 8:32Speaker 1: This, at the end of this story that seems to
- 8:36Speaker 1: get worse, Jacob Fields attacked a TCU wide receiver in
- 8:47Speaker 1: the locker room on August the 13th.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Dozie Azucanma.
- 8:55Speaker 1: He was hospitalized for three days now, according to the
- 8:58Speaker 1: Dallas Morning News, with a brave... I guess the Dallas
- 9:02Speaker 1: Morning News isn't going to get credentials to cover TCU
- 9:04Speaker 1: football since they're reporting this story. Only the Purple Power people,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I guess, will get credentials to... I don't know what
- 9:13Speaker 1: they're called up there, but whatever their mouthpiece is up there,
- 9:18Speaker 1: they'll be the only ones getting credentials.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Dozie Ezucanma.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Was hospitalized for three days with a brain bleed, concussion,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and shoulder injury from the attack by former teammate Jacob Fields.
- 9:40Speaker 1: He was kicked off the team five days after the attack.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I don't know what took so long. I tell you
- 9:47Speaker 1: what took so long. The attack didn't become public for
- 9:51Speaker 1: a little while. Fields was booked on an aggravated assault.
- 10:04Speaker 1: after the fact, not until this past Sunday, I believe,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and was released on a $ 50, 000 bond. According to police reports,
- 10:17Speaker 1: Fields walked up to Azucanma while he was sitting on
- 10:24Speaker 1: a chair in front of his locker, struck him in
- 10:27Speaker 1: the forehead with a closed fist, knocked him to the floor,
- 10:32Speaker 1: and proceeded to kick him in the head until he
- 10:35Speaker 1: was unconscious. My question is this. Were they the only
- 10:40Speaker 1: two players in the locker room?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Where was the team? Was there not somebody.
- 10:53Speaker 1: That would tackle fields and in this? Were they all
- 10:59Speaker 1: just watching? Did they all have their headphones plugged in
- 11:03Speaker 1: and were just oblivious?
- 11:05Speaker 3: Where was the team? How does that happen? I mean,
- 11:13Speaker 3: one punch, I can see that, right?
- 11:16Speaker 1: Right?
- 11:18Speaker 3: You knocked him down. But then you start kicking him
- 11:21Speaker 3: in the head. Where is everybody?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Sonny said Thursday in Dublin, I guess he was talking
- 11:29Speaker 1: to Purple Power.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I don't know who he was talking to. Boy, this
- 11:33Speaker 3: was a surprise. We have such a close team.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm going, well, if you're such a close team, where
- 11:38Speaker 1: are the guys that have this guy's back while he's
- 11:40Speaker 1: getting kicked unconscious by another player?
- 11:44Speaker 3: That is crazy. I mean, that is nuts.
- 11:59Speaker 1: You know, it'll be interesting to see if this kid
- 12:02Speaker 1: is going to play this year, if he's going to
- 12:04Speaker 1: be ready to play this year. And then the other
- 12:09Speaker 1: story that I find interesting, we don't cover the NFL,
- 12:14Speaker 1: but we know all about Tony Romo, highly acclaimed... NFL
- 12:19Speaker 1: analyst for CBS. Arrested July 23rd on suspicion of operating
- 12:24Speaker 1: while intoxicated. Today, he pleaded guilty in Wisconsin and released
- 12:32Speaker 1: a statement afterward. Saying, I faced a recent personal failure
- 12:40Speaker 1: by pleading no contest to a civil offense for OWI.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I own this completely.
- 12:48Speaker 1: As I have taught my three young sons, when you
- 12:50Speaker 1: fall short, you stand up and take full responsibility.
- 12:53Speaker 3: This is an important first step. Romo said.
- 13:01Speaker 1: He had multiple back surgeries, which ended his career, left
- 13:07Speaker 1: me with constant debilitating pain, which led to a dependence
- 13:11Speaker 1: on pain medication, and my efforts to get off those
- 13:14Speaker 1: led to an over-reliance on alcohol. I said earlier, and
- 13:23Speaker 1: I don't know. CBS has been pretty silent on this deal,
- 13:27Speaker 1: other than to replace Romo.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Who'd they replace him with? Somebody fairly new. Who was it?
- 13:33Speaker 3: I believe J.J.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Watt.
- 13:34Speaker 3: That's right, J.J.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Watt.
- 13:36Speaker 1: But they haven't said what Romo's future, if he has
- 13:39Speaker 1: a future with CBS.
- 13:40Speaker 3: They haven't said that. As of right now, he's out
- 13:43Speaker 3: for indefinite. Yeah, just indefinite. They haven't said anything.
- 13:47Speaker 9: Um.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Be interesting to see where this goes. My guess would
- 13:52Speaker 1: be they're going to wait and see the reaction by
- 14:00Speaker 1: the public to J.J. Watt and see how good J.J.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Watt is. Oh, Chip, they wouldn't do that. Yes, they would.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I promise you they would. And then decide whether to
- 14:16Speaker 3: fire Tony Romo or not. That's what they're waiting on.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And I would.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Suspect Tony Romo would get another job at some point. Cause,
- 14:30Speaker 1: and I don't know this cause I don't watch the
- 14:32Speaker 1: NFL fans seem to like him, right?
- 14:35Speaker 3: I mean, he's pretty good at what he does.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And again, the networks who are all about the Benjamins, uh,
- 14:48Speaker 1: They wouldn't hesitate to hire him, right? And so that's
- 14:53Speaker 1: how that works. The Rangers have signed a pitcher, Trevor Williams,
- 14:58Speaker 1: to a major league contract. He last pitched for the
- 15:01Speaker 1: Washington Nationals just about.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Eight or nine days ago. He was DFA'd, so he's
- 15:09Speaker 3: a perfect Rangers pick-up.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Unfortunately, yesterday they had to put Peyton Gray on the
- 15:15Speaker 1: 15-day injured list and Cole Wynn on the 15-day injured list.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Jack Leiter is still out. Big Game Nate is still out.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Josh Young is still out. And they have 24 games
- 15:32Speaker 1: left in the regular season. They are two down to
- 15:37Speaker 1: the Astros. who I think are 5-2 since they fired
- 15:42Speaker 1: their general manager, which makes no sense to me because.
- 15:45Speaker 3: The general manager doesn't play or anything. Maybe they like
- 15:49Speaker 3: Joe Espada. I don't know. Who knows?
- 15:53Speaker 1: And I will end with this before we hear from
- 15:58Speaker 1: Mike Elko. The AL West just got harder because the
- 16:03Speaker 1: Los Angeles Angels, who have been a train wreck for
- 16:07Speaker 1: 11 years under Artie Moreno, have been sold to Stan Kroenke.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Kroenke owns the Avalanche, the Nuggets, the Rams. What do
- 16:19Speaker 1: those teams have in common?
- 16:20Speaker 3: They win. Not just a little bit. They win a lot.
- 16:26Speaker 3: So the AL West just got harder. All right, let's
- 16:30Speaker 3: hear from Mike Elko.
- 16:33Speaker 10: Excuse me, Mike, I have a couple things. We always
- 16:36Speaker 10: hear about the importance of the offense playing together, cohesive unit,
- 16:40Speaker 10: all those things. You've got three, I guess, potential starters
- 16:44Speaker 10: that are graduate transfers. Can that expedite that process, or
- 16:49Speaker 10: does it have to be that there's no shortcuts as
- 16:52Speaker 10: far as just always having certain guys having to play together?
- 16:56Speaker 11: I think you guys have talked about that more than
- 16:59Speaker 11: I have. I think we moved guys around a lot
- 17:02Speaker 11: positionally and everybody wanted to know when we were going
- 17:04Speaker 11: to slot guys into their right spot. At the end
- 17:07Speaker 11: of the day, there's a comfort level for sure when
- 17:10Speaker 11: you've played with the guy next to you for a
- 17:11Speaker 11: long time, but college football has so much turnover and
- 17:14Speaker 11: always has that I don't know that that's our world.
- 17:17Speaker 11: I think that's the NFL world where the right guard
- 17:20Speaker 11: and the right tackle have played together for eight years
- 17:22Speaker 11: and they've grown together and they know each other. And
- 17:26Speaker 11: our world, you never get more than two max of
- 17:28Speaker 11: the same guys playing next to each other anyway. And
- 17:31Speaker 11: so I think we've had to learn how to adapt
- 17:33Speaker 11: to putting together lines that can play cohesively together without
- 17:38Speaker 11: all of that knowledge and experience. And so, yeah, experience
- 17:42Speaker 11: helps for sure. And so you'd rather do it with
- 17:45Speaker 11: older guys than younger guys. But You also have some
- 17:48Speaker 11: younger guys that are really, really talented, and so they're
- 17:52Speaker 11: going to have to be able to get out there
- 17:53Speaker 11: and be able to do it as cohesively as the
- 17:55Speaker 11: older guys. And so I think for us it's just
- 17:58Speaker 11: more about operation and functionality than it is the cohesive
- 18:01Speaker 11: part of it, to be honest.
- 18:03Speaker 10: And just since the end of last year to now,
- 18:07Speaker 10: where have you seen the most progress from Marceau? specifically areas?
- 18:16Speaker 11: Um, yeah, again, like those questions are so loaded because,
- 18:20Speaker 11: you know, at the end of the day, what Marcel
- 18:22Speaker 11: has to do is go out there and play consistently
- 18:24Speaker 11: on Saturdays. And so the real answer to that is,
- 18:27Speaker 11: is since the end of last season, I haven't seen
- 18:29Speaker 11: him do anything because we haven't played a game. Um,
- 18:31Speaker 11: and so he works really hard. He's But he's got
- 18:38Speaker 11: to go out and we've got to play.
- 18:39Speaker 12: And that's not him.
- 18:40Speaker 11: That's everybody. And so the reality of this thing is
- 18:43Speaker 11: we've done what we've had to do to get to
- 18:45Speaker 11: this point. Now it's time to go play. And when
- 18:48Speaker 11: we go play, we'll figure out where we are.
- 18:51Speaker 12: We'll stay to the right first row, Carter.
- 18:53Speaker 13: Lyle had mentioned that Julio's ball skills had really improved
- 18:57Speaker 13: this offseason.
- 18:58Speaker 14: I'm curious if you kind of saw the same thing,
- 19:00Speaker 14: and what do you think he showed to earn a.
- 19:02Speaker 12: Starting spot, at least for the opener?
- 19:04Speaker 11: Yeah, I think a tremendous work ethic. He's been really,
- 19:08Speaker 11: really consistent. all through spring, all through summer, all through
- 19:11Speaker 11: fall camp. I think he's gotten really confident playing the
- 19:15Speaker 11: ball or more confident playing the ball. I think one
- 19:18Speaker 11: of the things he struggled with at times last year
- 19:21Speaker 11: was that final decision on the ball. He got a
- 19:25Speaker 11: little bit, we use the word antsy, but would get
- 19:28Speaker 11: antsy and then that gets grabby and you start grabbing
- 19:31Speaker 11: receivers and doing things that you don't need to do
- 19:33Speaker 11: to be effective. I think he's just gotten a lot
- 19:36Speaker 11: more comfortable and confident with with what we're asking of
- 19:39Speaker 11: him and I think that's shown through and you know
- 19:42Speaker 11: he's been a warrior he hasn't missed a single practice
- 19:44Speaker 11: since last season ended and I think he's really really
- 19:48Speaker 11: grown and developed and so we're excited to.
- 19:49Speaker 13: Get him out there.
- 19:51Speaker 9: We'll go back over to Alex.
- 19:52Speaker 12: Second row. You referenced the video that was dropped last night.
- 19:55Speaker 12: I think in that Lyle had mentioned that the linebackers
- 19:58Speaker 12: were the defensive group that maybe surprised him the most.
- 20:01Speaker 12: I'm just curious what you've seen from them in preseason
- 20:04Speaker 12: camp that has stood out to you, especially the guys that,
- 20:09Speaker 12: as Damien's progressing back, have maybe had to step into
- 20:11Speaker 12: some roles.
- 20:12Speaker 11: Yeah, I just think they made a really, really big jump,
- 20:14Speaker 11: and I think some of that was naturally expected because
- 20:19Speaker 11: you had some younger, new guys, Ray Coney, Tamarion Watkins,
- 20:23Speaker 11: taking a lot of reps in the spring in a
- 20:24Speaker 11: new system and all of that, but I just think
- 20:27Speaker 11: the overall growth and development of the group... really sticks out.
- 20:31Speaker 11: I think Ray has had a really, really strong summer.
- 20:35Speaker 11: I think he had a really, really strong fall camp.
- 20:37Speaker 11: I think Noah McHale has taken a really, really big
- 20:40Speaker 11: jump forward. We're really happy with what Jordan Lockhart has
- 20:43Speaker 11: done and how he has played. And then Tamarian Watkins
- 20:46Speaker 11: has really evolved since the time he got here to
- 20:50Speaker 11: where he is now. And so I just think there's
- 20:52Speaker 11: been a lot of growth in that room and it's
- 20:55Speaker 11: been really, really cool to see.
- 20:56Speaker 12: And then you opened with noting how RC is getting
- 20:59Speaker 12: his statue. What's your relationship been like with him during
- 21:02Speaker 12: your two stints at A & M and just maybe
- 21:04Speaker 12: any impact he's had on you?
- 21:06Speaker 11: Yeah, to me, I just view him as a legend.
- 21:08Speaker 11: I think that's how I've always seen him. I appreciate
- 21:11Speaker 11: what he means to this community. I appreciate what he
- 21:14Speaker 11: means to this football program. As a defensive coordinator here,
- 21:17Speaker 11: that was obviously a guy that you had always looked
- 21:20Speaker 11: up to and watched because he did it at an
- 21:23Speaker 11: elite level for so long, even defensively. as a defensive
- 21:26Speaker 11: coordinator and then as a head coach. And so there
- 21:28Speaker 11: was that part of it. So it's been conversations, nothing
- 21:32Speaker 11: in tremendous depth. The schedules don't really allow us a
- 21:36Speaker 11: ton of time to sit down and hang out together,
- 21:38Speaker 11: but just a ton of mutual respect and admiration for
- 21:41Speaker 11: who he is. And then obviously coming back as a
- 21:43Speaker 11: head coach, wanting to make sure that he's always welcomed around,
- 21:47Speaker 11: that he knows that this is his home, that if
- 21:49Speaker 11: he wants to be around, practice, the program, whatever, that
- 21:53Speaker 11: he always has a place here because he means so
- 21:55Speaker 11: much to this university.
- 21:57Speaker 9: All the way in the back left, Nick.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Hey, Mike.
- 22:01Speaker 13: Whether it was your players or Lyle, they all made
- 22:03Speaker 13: it super clear they thought this defense was talented. They
- 22:06Speaker 13: thought there was a lot of depth. I'm just wondering
- 22:07Speaker 13: for you now going into week one, what are some
- 22:09Speaker 13: words you'd use to describe the defense and just how
- 22:11Speaker 13: do you feel about it heading into Missouri State?
- 22:13Speaker 11: Yeah, we'll see. That'll be the words I'll use for everything.
- 22:17Speaker 11: We'll see. I think we have a chance to be
- 22:18Speaker 11: really good if we have the ability to go out
- 22:21Speaker 11: and focus and play with the level of urgency that
- 22:24Speaker 11: we need to. I think they have a very, very
- 22:28Speaker 11: high ceiling, but they've got to go out and they've
- 22:30Speaker 11: got to go out and do it.
- 22:31Speaker 13: From Missouri State, you made it pretty clear that you
- 22:33Speaker 13: see them as an ascending program. Just wondering, from a
- 22:35Speaker 13: football standpoint, what have you seen from them that maybe
- 22:38Speaker 13: makes you think that they could be in FBS for
- 22:40Speaker 13: the long haul?
- 22:43Speaker 11: They were a bowl team last year in their first game.
- 22:45Speaker 11: They won seven games. They're making tremendous investments into their program.
- 22:50Speaker 11: They hired an elite coach, and they're recruiting at a
- 22:54Speaker 11: really high level for their level and their conference, and
- 22:56Speaker 11: so I think they're definitely here for a long haul.
- 23:00Speaker 9: Coach, we'll go to the right front row.
- 23:03Speaker 12: A little out of left field, but the NCAA released
- 23:06Speaker 12: that new offseason format. What do you think about that?
- 23:10Speaker 12: Have you all already started to kind of think about
- 23:11Speaker 12: maybe a little bit what that will look like for
- 23:13Speaker 12: you all?
- 23:13Speaker 11: Yeah, probably not a ton in terms of what we'll
- 23:18Speaker 11: do differently. I don't envision massive changes as we were
- 23:22Speaker 11: going through a lot of the conversations talking about Those
- 23:25Speaker 11: new calendars, I don't have a desire to move spring ball.
- 23:28Speaker 11: I think spring ball is in a really, really good
- 23:29Speaker 11: place for our training calendar. We get a good solid
- 23:34Speaker 11: eight weeks before it. We get a good solid eight
- 23:36Speaker 11: weeks after it. That, to me, is really, really important
- 23:39Speaker 11: for the development of your team, where we figure out
- 23:42Speaker 11: how to introduce those other six practices that we now have.
- 23:47Speaker 11: You know, that's probably going to require a little bit
- 23:49Speaker 11: more research and conversation and, you know, try to manage
- 23:52Speaker 11: that in conjunction with losing three in training camp and
- 23:55Speaker 11: just kind of how that all pieces together. So probably
- 23:58Speaker 11: not quite ready to fully dive into that. But I
- 24:02Speaker 11: think when you talk about, like, holistically the big picture
- 24:04Speaker 11: of our calendar, I don't envision a ton of changes.
- 24:09Speaker 12: We'll go back over to the left, third row, Peter.
- 24:12Speaker 8: You said you don't have any specific things you're watching
- 24:15Speaker 8: for in this week's game, but what are the intangibles
- 24:18Speaker 8: that have revealed themselves about this team in the offseason
- 24:22Speaker 8: you expect to be visible on the field every single week?
- 24:28Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, again, we want our program to be
- 24:31Speaker 11: about a couple things. We want to be a gritty team.
- 24:34Speaker 11: We want to be a team that knows how to
- 24:36Speaker 11: go out there and perform when needed and has unbelievable
- 24:39Speaker 11: mental toughness and resolve. We want to be a team
- 24:42Speaker 11: that has tremendous pride in how we represent this university
- 24:45Speaker 11: and each other, and that shows through the effort and
- 24:48Speaker 11: strain that we play with. And we want to be
- 24:50Speaker 11: an extremely physical football team on both sides of the
- 24:54Speaker 11: ball and both sides of the line of scrimmage. I
- 24:56Speaker 11: think that has been our identity. This team has shown
- 25:00Speaker 11: the ability to do that. Now we've got to go
- 25:02Speaker 11: do it on Saturdays.
- 25:04Speaker 3: All right, that's Coach Elko.
- 25:06Speaker 1: We carried that live, like we do most of the
- 25:11Speaker 1: time here on The Zone. A producer's cooperative right now
- 25:17Speaker 1: is in the middle of Merck Animal Health Days.

- 25:58Speaker 1: ranchers got together, and now the largest ag supply co-op
- 26:02Speaker 1: in the state of Texas, over 10,000 members strong. And
- 26:08Speaker 1: they do stuff like this all the time because they're

- 27:58Speaker 3: you go, I thought of you. Have you seen the
- 28:00Speaker 3: Dajon Love story?
- 28:01Speaker 16: What if someone in your family came to you and
- 28:02Speaker 16: they're like, yo, I'm dating someone on the 49ers.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Check out his film. I'm tired of everybody on social media.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I had one of my boys hit me up like, hey,
- 28:09Speaker 3: let me use your Patriots helmet. No, like, stop doing
- 28:12Speaker 3: spoofs of Dajon Love. Like, we get it. It was funny,
- 28:15Speaker 3: but it's over.
- 28:16Speaker 17: Unsportsmanlike.
- 28:17Speaker 18: Listen in weekday mornings from 5 to 8 on The Zone,
- 28:20Speaker 18: 1150 a.m.
- 28:20Speaker 19: And 93.7 FM.
- 28:24Speaker 3: I'll see you next time.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Mallory is brought to us by Southwest Card World.
- 28:59Speaker 3: It was announced yesterday, Mallory, that coming.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Up next year in both Nashville and London, Dolly Fest,
- 29:13Speaker 1: the celebration of a lifetime. She had planned to host
- 29:20Speaker 1: and perform at a star-studded festival early this year to
- 29:28Speaker 1: celebrate her 80th birthday. Danny Nozell, her longtime business manager,
- 29:34Speaker 1: said in a statement, what Dolly started, we will ensure
- 29:39Speaker 1: is is brought to life. He said they were deeply
- 29:44Speaker 1: involved in plans for the original Nashville event before health
- 29:49Speaker 1: problems forced her to step back last August. Many people
- 29:54Speaker 1: behind the scenes know that Dolly Fest is a dream
- 29:57Speaker 1: of Dolly's that was intended to take place on her
- 30:00Speaker 1: 80th birthday in Nashville. We had the venue booked and
- 30:04Speaker 1: we had the announcement ready to go. You think they'll
- 30:09Speaker 1: have any problem getting musicians to play this?
- 30:15Speaker 9: No.
- 30:15Speaker 3: They're going to have to turn away a lot of people,
- 30:18Speaker 3: don't you think?
- 30:18Speaker 9: Can you imagine?
- 30:19Speaker 3: Yeah. It's like that.
- 30:22Speaker 9: Not even just musicians.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Exactly. Exactly. Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney. No, no, sorry.
- 30:31Speaker 19: Paul, we can't risk anything happening to you.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Sir Paul, I'm sorry.
- 30:38Speaker 9: Wow.
- 30:39Speaker 3: So I'm waiting for this announcement.
- 30:43Speaker 19: It's going to be huge. I can't even imagine how
- 30:46Speaker 19: big it's going to be.
- 30:47Speaker 3: You know, I would think, of course, they have the
- 30:50Speaker 3: big arena but i i would think this may be
- 30:53Speaker 3: like the football stadium where the titans play.
- 30:56Speaker 9: You know might as well i mean.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I mean they're gonna have they're gonna have a hard
- 31:03Speaker 1: time with ticket demand too i would think yeah i.
- 31:06Speaker 19: Don't think i think even like the lesser known artists
- 31:09Speaker 19: aren't going to be lesser known artists like they're going.
- 31:11Speaker 3: To be right talking about Right. What do you mean?
- 31:15Speaker 9: So and so is on a small stage. What?
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Like consecutive consecutive weekends.
- 31:22Speaker 9: So can you imagine the ego? Some of these people?
- 31:25Speaker 3: Oh, no, I would not. I would not want to
- 31:28Speaker 3: deal with them.
- 31:29Speaker 9: I would not have a bunch of problems.
- 31:32Speaker 1: We're getting word that Reba McIntyre, lifelong friend of Dolly's.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Was.
- 31:41Speaker 1: One of the very few non-family members present at her
- 31:46Speaker 1: graveside service last Friday.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Um, everyone said it.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Was extremely emotional. Reba, of course saying, I will always
- 31:59Speaker 1: love you. And she harmonized with the song. Um, in
- 32:10Speaker 1: what is called a prayer-like performance, creating a farewell that
- 32:14Speaker 1: reflected their personal connection. So apparently 50 years of friendship.
- 32:23Speaker 1: They first met backstage at the Opry in 1977. I mean,
- 32:32Speaker 1: that checks out.
- 32:33Speaker 3: It does. Yeah, yeah, it does. Okay. Okay.
- 32:40Speaker 1: And by the way, I saw two more Dolly tribute shows.
- 32:46Speaker 1: It seems like a lot of people are just slapping
- 32:48Speaker 1: them together, you know, really quickly. But 2020 did one
- 32:55Speaker 1: Sunday night that was really good.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Really good. Good. So, yeah, if you can see that way.
- 33:03Speaker 9: We're going to slap one together. It's good if it's
- 33:05Speaker 9: really good.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Well, it's people who knew what they were doing. And
- 33:08Speaker 1: she obviously, she did lots of interviews on Good Morning
- 33:12Speaker 1: America and then with Baba Wawa and Robin Roberts. So
- 33:17Speaker 1: they kind of followed her career. The first interview Baba
- 33:22Speaker 1: Wawa did was so dang condescending and you wanted to
- 33:27Speaker 1: jump through the screen and just strangle Baba Wawa.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Because, you know, she went on and on about, you're
- 33:34Speaker 3: a hillbilly, right? Are you a hillbilly?
- 33:36Speaker 1: And I'm like, get out of here. Oh, it was
- 33:40Speaker 1: just like, it was typical Baba Wawa. You know, Dolly's
- 33:44Speaker 1: trying to explain growing up in a one-room house, and
- 33:47Speaker 1: Baba's like, it's way over her head.
- 33:49Speaker 3: That wasn't her world, right?
- 33:51Speaker 9: Like, I can't relate.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I cannot begin to relate. Why are you wearing
- 33:58Speaker 3: these wigs? What does this mean? Why are you wearing
- 34:02Speaker 3: these outfits?
- 34:04Speaker 9: One crazy fact I did, and I don't know if
- 34:06Speaker 9: this is true or not. It's just something I randomly read.
- 34:09Speaker 19: Apparently Dolly Parton had like tattoos on her arms.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Yes.
- 34:14Speaker 9: And she just hid them all this time.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 34:17Speaker 9: So no one ever realized it.
- 34:19Speaker 19: I think it was to cover up scars and stuff
- 34:22Speaker 19: like that.
- 34:22Speaker 9: They were very pretty and colorful. So I was like, okay, Dolly.
- 34:25Speaker 9: Dolly is.
- 34:28Speaker 9: She's sad.
- 34:29Speaker 19: She's gone. But what a legacy she left behind.
- 34:33Speaker 3: So since we spoke last week, the most amazing factoid
- 34:40Speaker 3: I have seen, last Friday, the top 10 songs... on
- 34:49Speaker 3: Apple Music were Dolly songs.
- 34:52Speaker 9: Oh, I love that.
- 34:53Speaker 1: I mean, that has never come close to being done before.
- 34:59Speaker 1: That was just, that kind of blew my mind.
- 35:03Speaker 9: She's one of the best.
- 35:04Speaker 3: That was amazing. That was amazing. All right, let's move on.
- 35:08Speaker 3: What do you have?
- 35:10Speaker 19: Let's move on to lighter news because we haven't actually
- 35:12Speaker 19: talked about Travis Kelsey. I mean, usually we associate Taylor,
- 35:15Speaker 19: which I'm sure she'll be brought up, but... Travis Kelsey
- 35:19Speaker 19: is one proud dog dad.
- 35:21Speaker 9: So they have a dog now.
- 35:24Speaker 19: Speaking of Vogue about Tommy Hilfiger's fall 2026 campaign, he
- 35:28Speaker 19: introduced his fluffy white pooch.
- 35:31Speaker 9: His name is being kept private.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Actually, I think, I think.
- 35:36Speaker 9: But I think they did release it. Isn't it?
- 35:38Speaker 4: Wendy.
- 35:38Speaker 9: Wendy.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Yes.
- 35:39Speaker 9: I was like, did I read that somewhere?
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it was named after a hamburger.
- 35:43Speaker 9: It's not.
- 35:44Speaker 3: No, I don't know that.
- 35:45Speaker 9: Checked out.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 9: Sure. I'll believe it. Sure. It is his pet. That
- 35:52Speaker 9: was confirmed.
- 35:54Speaker 19: Making the first time the pup has appeared publicly alongside
- 35:57Speaker 19: his famous owner. But I will say there were some
- 35:59Speaker 19: pictures of him in this pooch getting on like private
- 36:01Speaker 19: jets and stuff.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Of course.
- 36:03Speaker 9: The dog is gorgeous. It looks like a stuffed animal.
- 36:06Speaker 19: But I mean, when you're rich and have millions and
- 36:08Speaker 19: millions or maybe billions of dollars.
- 36:10Speaker 3: You can get whatever.
- 36:11Speaker 9: Dog you want.
- 36:12Speaker 1: It's a Samoyed, so it... I mean, it costs in
- 36:17Speaker 1: the thousands, I'm guessing, right?
- 36:19Speaker 9: Oh, I'm sure. And it's probably... He.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Didn't pick this up at the kennel.
- 36:24Speaker 9: No, he didn't just adopt it. No. But....
- 36:28Speaker 19: He did mention that the Hilfiger creative team had been
- 36:31Speaker 19: speaking about casting a dog for the shoot, and he
- 36:34Speaker 19: suggested his own dog.
- 36:35Speaker 9: We figured, why not her?
- 36:37Speaker 19: She crushed it and actually fit into the Tommy aesthetic, too.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 36:41Speaker 9: Those are some of my favorite shots.
- 36:43Speaker 19: The dog also appeared in a stylish video accompanying the
- 36:47Speaker 19: athlete's Hilfiger announcement, which was filmed in New York.
- 36:51Speaker 1: I'm sure the dog already has more social media followers
- 36:55Speaker 1: than most anyone.
- 36:57Speaker 19: This dog has probably lived a better life than 75%
- 37:02Speaker 19: of the people on this earth.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Probably eats better than we do.
- 37:07Speaker 19: That dog probably gets a nice, well-cooked ribeye or some chicken.
- 37:14Speaker 9: Anything you can imagine.
- 37:15Speaker 19: This dog is probably getting on his private jet, which
- 37:18Speaker 19: I'm sure he has his own seat and everything.
- 37:20Speaker 9: Yeah, his own room.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Yeah, his own bed for sure.
- 37:24Speaker 9: He has his own penthouse inside of their penthouse, you know?
- 37:28Speaker 1: Lionel Richie, TMZ is reporting, has been hospitalized. He told
- 37:37Speaker 1: his audience Saturday night in St. Louis, he was feeling
- 37:45Speaker 1: a little dizzy, sat down on a chair on center stage,
- 37:50Speaker 1: cut the show a little bit short. was sipping electrolytes
- 37:56Speaker 1: throughout the show. It's being reported that they're hoping it's a, quote,
- 38:02Speaker 1: dehydration issue and that he would be discharged a little
- 38:08Speaker 1: later today. Richie is is seventy seven.
- 38:15Speaker 9: You better be careful, Ricky.
- 38:17Speaker 19: I also heard that something happened in the story. I
- 38:20Speaker 19: don't remember if it was in June or there was
- 38:23Speaker 19: another performance where he kind of got a little iffy.
- 38:29Speaker 9: And again, I could be remembering wrong. My brain isn't
- 38:31Speaker 9: the best, but... So switching gears, because I don't feel
- 38:35Speaker 9: like we ever talk about this guy, so why not?
- 38:37Speaker 9: Let's throw him in the mix.
- 38:38Speaker 19: Jared Leto has quietly offloaded his massive elevation, a former
- 38:43Speaker 19: Air Force compound.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Was Jared Leto a Joker?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Did he play a Joker in the Batman ride?
- 38:51Speaker 9: It was the one with Harley Quinn.
- 38:53Speaker 7: Okay.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:54Speaker 9: I mean, not Harley Quinn, obviously Harley Quinn, but what's
- 38:56Speaker 9: her name? Oh, my gosh. She's Barbie. She's everyone thinks
- 38:59Speaker 9: she's fantastic.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Do you know who I'm talking about?
- 39:03Speaker 9: Yes, I do. That one girl?
- 39:04Speaker 4: Yes.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:05Speaker 9: I'm so sorry I'm blanking on her name because she's wonderful.
- 39:07Speaker 3: That one blonde girl.
- 39:08Speaker 9: Anyways. Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 19: Though she's in other movies besides those ones that were
- 39:12Speaker 19: actually great too. Okay.
- 39:14Speaker 9: But anyways, the timing of the sale might raise some eyebrows.
- 39:18Speaker 19: So the actor and singer sold his 14,694 square foot
- 39:23Speaker 19: mansion in May for 12 million, a tidy profit after
- 39:26Speaker 19: buying the pad for $ 5 million back in 2015. The six-bedroom, five-bedroom,
- 39:32Speaker 19: or sorry, six-bedroom, five-bathroom home, which sits on 1.4-acre, 1.4-acre lot.
- 39:37Speaker 9: I couldn't say that. That seems cheap. It does have
- 39:40Speaker 9: a colorful history.
- 39:41Speaker 1: It does.
- 39:41Speaker 3: 14,000 square feet.
- 39:48Speaker 9: Yes, and it does have a colorful history, Chip. It
- 39:51Speaker 9: previously was a U.S.
- 39:52Speaker 19: Air Force installation with connections to the country's atomic bomb program.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Oh, good, Josh.
- 39:59Speaker 19: Army training films and Air Force newsreels were also shot
- 40:04Speaker 19: at the property during the Cold War, and the short
- 40:07Speaker 19: reels were featured in huge stars like Bob Hope, Jimmy.
- 40:11Speaker 9: Stewart, James Garner. Yeah, there was a couple of those.
- 40:15Speaker 19: The main structure has um, three 35 millimeter screen.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Of course it does.
- 40:22Speaker 9: And temperature control film.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Oh, good gosh.
- 40:24Speaker 9: It also has a soundstage.
- 40:26Speaker 19: Um, his decision to let the place go comes during
- 40:29Speaker 19: a particularly turbulent life, uh, with the house selling just
- 40:34Speaker 19: two months before the BBC release. It's documentary in which
- 40:38Speaker 19: multiple women accused him.
- 40:39Speaker 9: Of sexual assault. Several. So I guess we might be
- 40:42Speaker 9: talking about him or not. Several allegations against him.
- 40:45Speaker 19: First, came up in the British newspaper last year.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Margot Robbie, by the way, is who we're looking at.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Margot Robbie, thank you. Yes, of course. No problem.
- 40:55Speaker 9: She's wonderful.
- 40:57Speaker 19: But yeah, she starred with him.
- 40:58Speaker 3: When he was a joker. Let's see.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Jennifer Aniston and boyfriend Jim Curtis are still in their, quote,
- 41:09Speaker 1: honeymoon phase. Curtis opened up about his relationship during an
- 41:14Speaker 1: appearance yesterday on the Jamie Kern Lima show.
- 41:19Speaker 3: I have no idea who that is.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Sharing rare details about how the couple navigate disagreements, how
- 41:28Speaker 1: he has been welcomed into Jen's close-knit circle of friends
- 41:34Speaker 1: more than a year into dating.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Curtis, listen to me now. is a hypnotherapist and life coach.
- 41:47Speaker 19: Makes sense while they're still in a honeymoon state.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Oh, good gosh.
- 41:52Speaker 9: What did he do to her?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. What did you do to her? They've been
- 41:57Speaker 3: linked since July of last year. When she made it
- 42:03Speaker 3: Instagram official, like you do. When Kern Lima asked whether
- 42:11Speaker 3: he and Jen use a particular prayer she and her
- 42:20Speaker 3: husband turn to during disagreements, they say, we do a
- 42:25Speaker 3: lot of meditation, we do a lot of talk, and
- 42:31Speaker 3: joked that just because they're still in a honeymoon phase... They.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Don't necessarily need the relationship equivalent of, quote, big sledgehammers
- 42:43Speaker 1: to work through problems.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I think this one's going to last forever.
- 42:49Speaker 9: He has, and he's saying it.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I see this.
- 42:53Speaker 1: You know, she has done so well with past relationships.
- 42:56Speaker 3: I think this one is going to last forever.
- 42:58Speaker 19: You know, I hope so, though, because poor Jen, she
- 43:02Speaker 19: needs something, you know, some kind of stable.
- 43:05Speaker 1: First of all, she's not poor. So let's say that.
- 43:08Speaker 9: I didn't mean it like that.
- 43:10Speaker 3: I know.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I know.
- 43:13Speaker 9: No, but her, well, maybe it's just her choice.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Thank you. Thank you. Finally, the truth.
- 43:22Speaker 19: Yes.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Finally, some truth.
- 43:25Speaker 19: Maybe don't pick anyone who seems like you're tight because
- 43:28Speaker 19: you're tight.
- 43:28Speaker 9: Not doing that great.
- 43:33Speaker 19: Did you know that Kanye West is having some legal issues?
- 43:38Speaker 3: No way.
- 43:39Speaker 19: It's not that surprising, but apparently Kanye West is, or he,
- 43:42Speaker 19: whatever the heck he goes by, his former staffer is
- 43:45Speaker 19: making moves in court to prevent the musician from claiming
- 43:48Speaker 19: he wasn't in his.
- 43:48Speaker 9: Right mind as a defense in their legal battle.
- 43:51Speaker 3: I mean, what else?
- 43:52Speaker 1: What other kind of defense would you take if you're Kanye?
- 43:56Speaker 1: We know he's not in his right mind.
- 43:58Speaker 19: That's true. Benjamin Provo, who worked for the Musicians Donna
- 44:04Speaker 19: Academy in 2021 says he wants the judge to block
- 44:07Speaker 19: you for making the claim he was out and he
- 44:09Speaker 19: was of unsound mind when he was discriminating against Benjamin.
- 44:14Speaker 19: Benjamin claims Kanye is pulling this insanity defense card right
- 44:17Speaker 19: before the case is scheduled to go to trial and
- 44:19Speaker 19: never once produced any documents or provided any testament whatsoever.
- 44:23Speaker 19: or testimony about the issue to this point. He says,
- 44:27Speaker 19: even if it was relevant, Kanye had not turned over
- 44:30Speaker 19: any medical records or selected an expert to testify about
- 44:33Speaker 19: the impact of his mental health issues to claims of
- 44:37Speaker 19: this case.
- 44:38Speaker 1: You know, we know that there are periods of time
- 44:41Speaker 1: when Kanye goes off his meds, right?
- 44:44Speaker 9: Yes. Yes.
- 44:46Speaker 19: He makes them usually very public when he is off
- 44:51Speaker 19: those meds.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 9: But.
- 44:53Speaker 19: He's also claiming that Kanye repeatedly indicated that he had
- 44:58Speaker 19: been of.
- 44:58Speaker 9: Sound mind during the events underlying the case, which I
- 45:02Speaker 9: mean this in the nicest way possible.
- 45:04Speaker 19: But when somebody is constantly saying they're of sound mind, typically.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Oh, I love I love this. I love this.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Benjamin claims he was fired because of his hairstyles. And
- 45:19Speaker 1: that Kanye was rough on black employees, but softer on
- 45:25Speaker 1: white employees.
- 45:28Speaker 9: I'm just laughing at the hairstyle.
- 45:30Speaker 10: The other one.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Hairstyle.
- 45:31Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Hairstyle.
- 45:33Speaker 9: Could you imagine if that's what got you fired?
- 45:36Speaker 3: Beyonce is donating 200 GERD to support relief efforts from
- 45:44Speaker 3: flood victims in Indiana through her. Bay Good Foundation.
- 45:52Speaker 1: The foundation shared a post on its official Instagram account
- 45:59Speaker 1: about the effort. Announcing a donation of $ 200, 000 to help
- 46:04Speaker 1: with relief efforts in Indiana. The funds will go to
- 46:08Speaker 1: City Life Center, an angel by nature that's on the
- 46:12Speaker 1: ground guiding communities most affected following the record flooding. that
- 46:18Speaker 1: destroyed infrastructure, leaving more than 1,000 people without homes. If
- 46:25Speaker 1: you'd like to help those impacted by the disaster, please consider.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Making a donation to paygood.org. Look, that's a wonderful thing.
- 46:35Speaker 3: I hope it does great.
- 46:37Speaker 1: But when and if I give to stuff like this,
- 46:43Speaker 1: it's not going to be through an organization like this.
- 46:47Speaker 3: I will find direct ways. Does that make sense?
- 46:52Speaker 9: Yes, you're not incorrect.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Because generally speaking, and I don't know about this foundation.
- 46:58Speaker 3: I don't know anything about it. I hope it's great.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Generally speaking, these foundations have expense rates that may go
- 47:07Speaker 1: up to 25 or 30%, right?
- 47:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 1: So that if you give $ 100... 30.
- 47:16Speaker 3: Of that ain't going to people with floods. And that's
- 47:19Speaker 3: if it's a good foundation. You know what I'm saying?
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah. That's if these people are really intent on that
- 47:26Speaker 1: $ 70 going to a really good cause. So, like I said,
- 47:31Speaker 1: don't know anything about it. I'm just talking in generalities here, Bay.
- 47:37Speaker 9: Well- And to be fair, you've had some experience with these. Yes.
- 47:42Speaker 9: You know.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:43Speaker 9: You've seen how these fundraisers work.
- 47:46Speaker 16: I do.
- 47:46Speaker 9: Time and time again.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:47Speaker 6: So.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:49Speaker 9: Just make your own decision.
- 47:51Speaker 12: Okay.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Take Chip's advice.
- 47:57Speaker 9: Do we want to talk about Doja Cat?
- 47:58Speaker 3: Oh, we have to talk about Doja Cat. I don't
- 48:01Speaker 3: know how long it's been.
- 48:03Speaker 19: I know.
- 48:03Speaker 9: It's been a minute. But Doja admitted to abusing cocaine
- 48:07Speaker 9: in the past.
- 48:08Speaker 3: No way.
- 48:08Speaker 15: I'm sorry.
- 48:09Speaker 19: But that is, if you're a musician or a chorus,
- 48:12Speaker 19: they run you like a horse, so you have.
- 48:14Speaker 3: To have that power. You're right. You're right. Not the
- 48:18Speaker 3: right form. It's very, very few of these people that
- 48:22Speaker 3: aren't taking something to be awake on stage at night. Or, and,
- 48:27Speaker 3: to go to sleep afterward.
- 48:30Speaker 9: Agreed. But she's insisting that she is well past that now.
- 48:34Speaker 3: That's good.
- 48:35Speaker 19: In a new TikTok, because I feel like TikTok is
- 48:37Speaker 19: now the other place where people, you know, confirm stuff.
- 48:41Speaker 19: The rapper says she did struggle with the drug for
- 48:43Speaker 19: about eight years. Or, sorry, with the drug about eight
- 48:48Speaker 19: years ago.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 48:48Speaker 9: Which, I mean... Okay.
- 48:52Speaker 19: Um, Dosha had also posted another video earlier the day,
- 48:55Speaker 19: acknowledging that she had problems with alcohol and weed.
- 48:58Speaker 9: Okay.
- 48:58Speaker 3: So we had, we've got alcohol, we got weed, we
- 49:00Speaker 3: got Coke.
- 49:02Speaker 9: Yes.
- 49:02Speaker 19: Uh, I was never an alcoholic, but I definitely had problems. Uh,
- 49:06Speaker 19: during the clip, she talks about how mental health issues
- 49:08Speaker 19: and social media culture can be a doozy of a
- 49:11Speaker 19: combo and addresses critics who call her demonic. She calls
- 49:16Speaker 19: the internet a breeding ground for bleeping, projecting. So you
- 49:20Speaker 19: shouldn't give online trolls and bullies too much.
- 49:23Speaker 16: Of your energy.
- 49:24Speaker 1: You know, that may be the only thing Doja Cat's
- 49:26Speaker 1: ever said that I agree with.
- 49:30Speaker 9: Yes.
- 49:31Speaker 3: I don't disagree with that. Let's do some birthdays.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Sunday, Elizabeth Ashley From Evening Shade was 87.
- 49:42Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Timothy Bottoms from The Last Picture Show. What a great movie.
- 49:46Speaker 1: And The Paper Chase turned 75 on Sunday. Michael Chiklis
- 49:51Speaker 1: from The Shield turned 63 on Sunday.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Cameron Diaz. Wow.
- 50:00Speaker 9: 54.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Cameron Diaz, who kind of retired from Hollywood. 54.
- 50:05Speaker 1: 54. And still looks really good, I might add.
- 50:11Speaker 3: And I don't think, unless it's been the most phenomenal
- 50:14Speaker 3: work I've ever seen, I don't think she's had work done.
- 50:17Speaker 19: No, I think she's actually spoken out about that.
- 50:21Speaker 3: So good for you, girl.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Here's a prickly entertainer who I like. But Van Morrison
- 50:27Speaker 1: turned 81 yesterday. Ikshak Perlman, who's been here to College Station, Texas.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Violinist turned 81 yesterday. Richard Gere turned 77 yesterday. That'll
- 50:42Speaker 1: make you feel old.
- 50:44Speaker 3: I mean, that will make you feel old. Richard Gere
- 50:47Speaker 3: turned 77 yesterday. Let's see. Let's see.
- 50:50Speaker 4: All right, let's do today.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Okay.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Oh, Lily Tomlin.
- 51:01Speaker 1: She's been very prevalent because obviously she was in 9
- 51:05Speaker 1: to 5 with Dolly. Turns 87 today. And Archie Bell
- 51:15Speaker 1: of the Drells from Houston, Texas, did a little dance
- 51:20Speaker 1: called the Tighten Up when he was 18 years old
- 51:24Speaker 1: and overseas in the military when that song was released
- 51:27Speaker 1: and went to number one.
- 51:29Speaker 3: He is 82 today. Wow.
- 51:36Speaker 9: Man, Dr.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Phil. How old?
- 51:38Speaker 9: Dr. Phil, he is 76. He still looks pretty good.
- 51:42Speaker 3: How old is she?
- 51:43Speaker 9: I mean, Gloria Estefan is 69.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I've eaten at her restaurant in Miami Beach, by the way.
- 51:49Speaker 9: Is it good?
- 51:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it was good. It's Cuban food, as you might suspect.
- 51:54Speaker 3: Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees is 80 today.
- 52:02Speaker 15: Okay.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Anything else? I don't know. Yeah, me neither. I can't
- 52:08Speaker 3: find anybody I've ever heard of. All right. I think
- 52:12Speaker 3: that's all we can do for today. Mallory is brought
- 52:17Speaker 3: to us by Southwest Card World.
- 52:20Speaker 16: Southwest Card World, located on the north end of Tower

- 52:51Speaker 4: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 52:53Speaker 4: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around, and then
- 52:56Speaker 4: I found Schulte Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 52:58Speaker 4: The folks at Schulte guided me every step of the way.
- 53:01Speaker 4: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 53:03Speaker 4: out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance. They took the complication
- 53:07Speaker 4: out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They took off
- 53:10Speaker 4: the damaged roof, put on the new roof, did all
- 53:12Speaker 4: the cleanup, and I had my new roof in one day.
- 53:15Speaker 21: Schulte Roofing, the home of the bulletproof roof.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I'm Trevor Beck with your Rangers report. Did the Rangers
- 53:24Speaker 3: take down the A's last night?
- 53:46Speaker 4: Nearly half of all child car seats are used incorrectly.
- 53:49Speaker 4: Get tips and sign up for a free car seat
- 53:52Speaker 4: inspection at lovemycarseat.org.
- 53:55Speaker 15: Sponsored by TxDOT.
- 53:56Speaker 14: Rangers handled the athletics last night, and DeGrom had an
- 53:59Speaker 14: excellent bounce back after the rough outing last start with
- 54:02Speaker 14: seven innings of shutout baseball and eight Ks.
- 54:05Speaker 6: He's very accurate at throwing strikes.
- 54:08Speaker 9: 2-2.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Swing and a miss. Slider downstairs. McNeil chases, and DeGrom
- 54:13Speaker 3: strikes his former teammate out. So we've got... Two down
- 54:16Speaker 3: in the top of the seventh.
- 54:18Speaker 14: And the Rangers' offense decided to kick into gear as
- 54:20Speaker 14: well with Foscue's solo home run.
- 54:23Speaker 6: So 2-0 the count, the pitch from jump, and that's
- 54:26Speaker 6: hit high and deep out into left field. Cortez going back.
- 54:28Speaker 6: He watches it fly out of here. Line drive home
- 54:32Speaker 6: run for Justin Foscue. It's his 10th of the year,
- 54:36Speaker 6: and the Rangers are up now 4-0.
- 54:39Speaker 14: While Foscue was the only home run last night, the
- 54:41Speaker 14: Rangers found a way to get eight runs on the
- 54:43Speaker 14: board and shut down the A's with an 8-1 win.
- 54:46Speaker 14: Rangers go again tonight at 7.05. I'm Trevor Beck with
- 54:50Speaker 14: your Rangers report.

- 56:12Speaker 18: sun I'm on fire, I'm born to run You looked
- 56:15Speaker 18: at me and I was done But we were just
- 56:18Speaker 18: getting started I was singing to you, you were singing
- 56:21Speaker 18: to me.
- 56:22Speaker 22: I was so alive, never been more free Fired up
- 56:24Speaker 22: my daddy's lighter and we sang Oh, oh, oh, oh
- 56:29Speaker 22: Stayed there till they forced us out and took the
- 56:31Speaker 22: long way to your house. I can still hear the
- 56:35Speaker 22: sound of you saying don't go. When I think about you.

- 57:59Speaker 1: This is Darrell from Columbus, previously from the Paul Feinbaum Show.
- 58:03Speaker 18: I remember being in Columbia last year as Alabama had
- 58:06Speaker 18: to hold off Missouri on the final drive.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Paul, we were in the grind of the SEC schedule.
- 58:11Speaker 7: Do not bring up that asterisk against the Mizzou Tigers.
- 58:15Speaker 7: They have never beaten Alabama in this century and they
- 58:19Speaker 7: will never do it.
- 58:20Speaker 21: Bass Brother.
- 58:21Speaker 11: It's the Paul Feinbaum Show, powered by Polaris Fund Center.
- 58:24Speaker 6: Two to four weekdays on the zone.
