- 0:11Thank you so much. You helping support the show, of
- 0:16course. So you get a round of applause.
- 0:19Thank you so much for all of your help.
- 0:22Thank you so much, joy. Really do appreciate everybody's
- 0:29help out there. Everybody stop from buying
- 0:31hanging out. Can be starting up in a minute
- 0:33here. Got a few announcements to make
- 0:39it. Got a few things to talk about.
- 0:43Starship Starbase possible future of Starbase in the near
- 0:49future. So we talked about that a little
- 0:51bit. The new Milestone has been met
- 0:55for Starbase, which is really cool, and let's just do this.
- 0:59Just jump in man. Let's do this.
- 1:02Let's do this. Hey, everybody.
- 1:04Hey welcome. Welcome to the show.
- 1:05I got to get situated here. Welcome everybody.
- 1:09It is right now. I'm in Brownsville Texas about
- 1:1220 miles. Away from Starbase.
- 1:15Welcome on this Friday. It is 91 degrees here with
- 1:21humidity, that makes it feel like 104 degrees.
- 1:27So anybody that's out there right now at Starbase is a
- 1:31champ, anybody that's filming out there right now is a champ I
- 1:36had other stuff going on today, I wish I would have went down
- 1:37there to see the booster seven thing this morning at other
- 1:40stuff going on this morning. Little let's do the let's get
- 1:44this out of the way in the beginning because I just sort of
- 1:47sort of talked about it. So this morning I was working.
- 1:51I have a job. Now, I don't just rely on
- 1:53YouTube for for money, so that's kind of nice.
- 1:57This depending on, you know, the month that like I'm going to be
- 2:01straight up with you guys depending on the month in
- 2:02depending on like how many people watch videos.
- 2:05Those or whatever like it's not reliable, YouTube can't be your
- 2:09only source of income less, you're making tons and tons of
- 2:12views which I don't. So I had to go find myself a
- 2:14job. So anybody that supported the
- 2:17show through super chats, super stickers, GoFundMe patreon,
- 2:24memberships, things like that. You have helped me get to this
- 2:28point, but I felt like that it wasn't.
- 2:33It wasn't a sustainable. Model going forward.
- 2:36So I had to get a job. So I have a cool job,
- 2:39everything's all good. So, the schedule might change a
- 2:43little bit. That's kind of what happened
- 2:44today. Schedules a little bit later
- 2:46than normal. Usually do it at about noon.
- 2:48CST, so today, moved it back a little bit, had some stuff to
- 2:54do, right, still figure it out. I just started so figuring out
- 2:57like timeframes and schedules and stuff like that.
- 3:00It also, I have a very sad thing and it's very emotional for me.
- 3:05So if If I if I have to pause or like anything like that just
- 3:08please let me let me just finish that stuff up.
- 3:14I got some news last week. Ish, you know, really not like
- 3:20not really surprising news because I knew it was going to
- 3:24come eventually but my, my dad isn't doing too great in New
- 3:29York, right? So I want to spend with, I want
- 3:32to sit, I want to spend some time with him, right?
- 3:35So Oh, this might be his last summer.
- 3:39So I'm going to spend my summer with my dad in New York and I
- 3:44have to leave Brownsville just temporarily.
- 3:49Okay. So that's real tough.
- 3:50That's like thank you for hanging out with me for that.
- 3:55It's really really hard for me because I want to stay here and
- 3:59continue doing this but family comes first Right the dude that
- 4:05made me the guy my dad you know like it's possible.
- 4:10I this is last summer it's possible right.
- 4:12So I gotta go so at the end this month, I got a chick, I gotta
- 4:21take off, I gotta leave Brownsville, which is really,
- 4:24really sad for me because I a lot of people Help me out to get
- 4:32down here and getting down here was one of like the coolest
- 4:39things I've ever freaking done in my life.
- 4:42Like just seeing Starbase for the first time in knowing that
- 4:45like, you know, knowing that I'm going to see this rocket in like
- 4:49going around Highway 4 and then seeing High Bay for the first
- 4:52time ago I'm like, what the hell is this?
- 4:55Like what is my life like, this is my life now.
- 4:58How cool is my life? Like that's what I had to say.
- 5:01The last like nine months of my life like how cool is my life
- 5:06the last month or so I've had the deal with, you know, like a
- 5:11tree kind of structuring the show and stuff.
- 5:13Because I knew that this is, this a possible outcome and I
- 5:17couldn't go down to Starbase every day and some people were
- 5:19asking me, like, dude, why are you down there every day?
- 5:22Why are you streaming for us everyday?
- 5:23A Starbase and one of them was because of all this stuff, one
- 5:26of them is because like, dude, I got to get a job like this, like
- 5:31stream. And for Starbase doesn't make
- 5:32you any money unless people don't eat huge amounts of money,
- 5:35right? So like if you're making fifty
- 5:38bucks in tips, right? So save you.
- 5:40Make 50 bucks and super chats. Every day, I'm going to be
- 5:42straight up with you guys like 50 bucks and super chats every
- 5:45day equals to be about $39, you know.
- 5:49So 39 dollars a day if you make 50 bucks and super chats, Like
- 5:56that's not going to pay you anything like that's barely
- 5:59paying for your car payment for the year or for the month.
- 6:02So it's like car payment and insurance and then you get rent
- 6:05on top of that to any got utilities and got your phone
- 6:08bill. All that stuff.
- 6:10So I was like I gotta get a job. Like I'm gonna live this life as
- 6:14much as I can. I'm going to have some fun and
- 6:16enjoy myself but like streaming a Starbase every day like you
- 6:20would have to do it like Jessica cursed style it do like nine to
- 6:24ten hour days. And like I physically can't do
- 6:28it. Like she's a beast.
- 6:30She's a trooper in the best kind of way like she does it.
- 6:34The like, she's so dedicated to it.
- 6:37I really do admire her her gumption to be down there that
- 6:41long and it's it's tough dude, it is is a tough gig like If you
- 6:48have to stand on your feet for 9 hours, a day, that's one thing.
- 6:51But then you stand on your feet 9 hours, a day in, it's 90
- 6:53degrees outside. Dude, you're getting wrecked
- 6:57like I went outside today. Like, every morning, I go out
- 7:01and I do like a, like a walk around the neighborhood or
- 7:04whatever. And this morning, I got out and
- 7:08I was like but it just killed me like that.
- 7:12It was, it was burning my skin. It was so hot like it.
- 7:19I just felt like I was like, uh, like this.
- 7:21Just hurts to be out here, man. So Texas is no joke.
- 7:24So anybody Out there that does all that stuff all the time, mad
- 7:28props, like 100% you deserve all the props.
- 7:32So I don't want to take anything away from those people.
- 7:34I want to give them everything. Like they deserve way more
- 7:40credit than what they're getting.
- 7:42Like they deserve all the money they deserve.
- 7:44All of the accolades, they deserve everything because
- 7:48they're putting everything on the line to be out there every
- 7:51single day. And I appreciate all of you
- 7:55said, To me the best wishes and everything.
- 7:57Like, that's very, very, very sweet of you.
- 8:00So thank you, everybody. In check who's super nice?
- 8:03Like, you guys are awesome. So, thank you.
- 8:07Joy said, weather starting to warm up.
- 8:09Stay cool. Yeah, that's what I'm talking
- 8:10about. It's super hot here.
- 8:12It's ridiculously hot Bill. Lemon says, are we going to
- 8:16launch today? No, unfortunately.
- 8:18Now it speaking of that, speaking of hot, I get a Take
- 8:22this off because like I said, it's 90 something out degrees
- 8:25here, and I've been an air conditioned apartment, but it's
- 8:28still like, I got to get comfy day job is the way to go.
- 8:35Yeah, Greg I agree. It's it's I tried, you know, the
- 8:41YouTube thing 100%. I'm not quitting YouTube.
- 8:44Like that's that be silly. Like I've been doing it for
- 8:46three and a half years, there's no way I'm quitting I'm going to
- 8:49continue doing the show but I have to do it from someplace.
- 8:51Cells. That's it because that not that
- 8:54big of a deal. It sucks, it's emotional but
- 8:58it's something like, dude, I did some cool stuff like I'm super
- 9:01pumped, I'm super excited that I got to do this stuff.
- 9:04So going back there, hanging with my dad.
- 9:07He needs me. My family needs me.
- 9:10Yeah, so I got it. I got to go back, man.
- 9:14What are you waiting on? Go be with your dad, Bill.
- 9:16I'm doing it. I'm doing it as fast as I can.
- 9:18For real, there is Logistics, you know to get everything ready
- 9:24to go. I'm about 45% packed.
- 9:28I figured that out today. Like I was doing, I was kind of
- 9:30doing the math in my head. I was like, how do I, how do I
- 9:33do this? You know, like what is my,
- 9:35what's my Tetris situation in my car?
- 9:38You know, like you have to always whatever you move, you
- 9:40always have to Tetris everything into your car and I was like,
- 9:44what do I need? What do I need?
- 9:47So yeah I getting all that stuff together.
- 9:51The show is To you by backblaze, I use back plays to back up my
- 9:55podcast, my video files, all of my writing stuff and all my

- 11:59backblaze.com, Ilan. It's not that hard like it
- 12:03because I don't have much, you know, I came down here not much
- 12:06and then I move it back with that much and yeah, I just
- 12:12getting to that point like, 45%, I could probably leave next
- 12:15week, which would probably be the best option at this point.
- 12:20Just take off and And get out of here and get myself a little bit
- 12:24of room. Like because it's like a
- 12:26five-day drive, like a 45-day drive.
- 12:28So getting back there, it's gonna take a little while.
- 12:32Not as much content is going to happen on the channel or I might
- 12:35make some cool content in between now and then and post it
- 12:37up a little bit later but it won't be like day of.
- 12:40Or am I just do stuff on the road like do stuff with my
- 12:42phone, which might be kind of cool which might be a nice
- 12:45distraction from the road so that might be cool.
- 12:52Let's see here. I'm so sorry.
- 12:54Will Shasta? Thank you so much Greg.
- 12:55Thanks again, thanks for all that, man.
- 12:58Hans, welcome, get her subscriber.
- 13:00Numbers are low Greg. Yeah.
- 13:02Jessica needs like 100,000 subscribers and I don't know
- 13:06what it is, like, I don't know why people aren't subscribing to
- 13:10her. It is a, it's a weird thing to,
- 13:12for if you only do live stuff, she does a lot of Life stuff.
- 13:16And it's a weird thing, like, if you do a lot of live stuff, but
- 13:19you don't have like, Regular cut into like digestible content.
- 13:23It's almost it's like I don't know if the algorithm doesn't
- 13:28like that or what the deal is but I think YouTube is kind of
- 13:31weird about that. So I'm not sure because they're
- 13:33not like, they're not really fond of Life stuff and I'd love
- 13:35to do live stuff but in she's working on that too.
- 13:40She's she does a lot of other stuff too.
- 13:42So I don't want to take that away from either because he does
- 13:45do, you know, katsampis not live.
- 13:51So yeah, I hope I hope I hope she hoped They figure it out
- 13:56like I want her to be super successful.
- 13:59I want to make a bunch of money and like live in comfort in live
- 14:02in you know, be very happy. So everybody else down here to
- 14:05this doing that stuff like not just her but everybody else is
- 14:08doing it. Like it's a hobby you know a lot
- 14:12of YouTube stuff is a hobby for a lot of people but if you're if
- 14:17you're making enough to survive, it's a job.
- 14:20But then if you're not making enough to survive, it's a hobby,
- 14:22you know, and they have to kind of think about that stuff.
- 14:26Hi. It's Jacques, You're great.
- 14:29And please continue to look forward to your future
- 14:30contribution to this next evolution of space.
- 14:32All the best. Thank you so much, Jack.
- 14:34I appreciate that, man. That does mean a lot to.
- 14:39You think, August or September for the launch.
- 14:43Hmm. It's going to be it's going to
- 14:47be a while. I think it's going to be a
- 14:48little bit. I think you're pretty close.
- 14:51Greg Smith says, 45% very specific.
- 14:53Yeah. My my packing I'm just kind of
- 14:56like what do I have left to do? Right have one.
- 14:59I know I have one suitcase to do, right?
- 15:01Like one big suitcase video and I know I have like I have a TV
- 15:05and I have to do something with that.
- 15:07So that's like a big part of it, it's either.
- 15:10I give that away to my neighbor and just be like, see you later,
- 15:13you know, or I take it with me. Problem is the thing is huge and
- 15:17I can't really fit, I mean I can fit in my car.
- 15:19It's right over there, it's a big old TV.
- 15:22I got it on sale at Target right when I got down here but it's
- 15:27like it's a big boy. So you know, where do you fit
- 15:31it? And also my computer desk and
- 15:33stuff like that. I'm just going to buy a new
- 15:34desk. When I get up there in this
- 15:36chair. I might I might either give this
- 15:38chair away or I don't want to buy a new one when I get up
- 15:41there because it's a, it's like an extra 300 bucks or whatever.
- 15:45And that's a lot of money so yeah, I don't know.
- 15:49Figure it out. Like that's the tetris part
- 15:50problem that I was talking about.
- 15:51It's like I'm probably 45 percent done packed, you know,
- 15:54and then if I get the rest of it like kind of figured out that.
- 16:00Yeah. So I just want to put that out
- 16:02there at the beginning. So we got it out there.
- 16:05It's been kind of Weighing on me for the last couple days and
- 16:09been thinking about a lot, you know, like how do I, how do I do
- 16:12the whole like to? I do like a bigot.
- 16:14Announcement video or whatever, but like, the live stuff you
- 16:18guys are always here for me. So I felt it was proper and
- 16:23necessary for me to tell you guys first because you guys are
- 16:25always here for the live stuff and always interact, and helping
- 16:28out. And jock, says, do what you need
- 16:32for your fam, return? When you can't, we all we will
- 16:35all miss you. Cheers, thanks, man.
- 16:38Yeah, it'll be. I think it'll be all good, you
- 16:41know. Like it's going to be a tough,
- 16:43tough go sometimes. You know, like, getting back
- 16:46there to is brutal, like driving down.
- 16:48Here is brutal. It's like a four-day Drive, 458
- 16:51Drive. Yeah, it's a tough.
- 16:57It's a tough drive. And it's like so fits through
- 17:00beautiful, beautiful places. But, like, 10 hours a day, you
- 17:05know, like you can do eight hours a day, but then you're,
- 17:07you know, you're another day in a hotel.
- 17:10So it's like you get, you get bored, you get worn out.
- 17:14It's I'm a road warrior and I love it, so it's pretty
- 17:18physically brutal. Mike Maxie says, Hi, Will so
- 17:23you're making the move back home?
- 17:24Yes, yes. I am.
- 17:27I'm figuring it all out. I'm figuring all.
- 17:29I was kind of, like, I was on the fence because I was like,
- 17:33look, man, my dad is. I talk to him all the time.
- 17:36I talked to him just yesterday and he seems like he's cool.
- 17:43But then I talked to my brother and They're gonna talk to my
- 17:45sister a couple days ago. She's like yeah, the dudes, not
- 17:49doing too well, you know, like he's doing okay, but he's 82,
- 17:55you know, when you're 82 and things start going downhill,
- 17:58they go downhill really fast. So I'm like those might be it's
- 18:05a great time for me to reassess things too.
- 18:07So go back there, hang out with my family, figure out what I
- 18:10want to do. Do I want to go back to don't
- 18:13want to go down to Florida next, there might be kind of cool too
- 18:18because of SpaceX starts launch and Starships from Florida in
- 18:21the Cadence of the launches is incredible.
- 18:25Plus there will be SLS launches, there'll be Dragon launches,
- 18:29like, how, like, I'm excited about launches, you know, like,
- 18:32that's what I've always. Always been excited about is the
- 18:34launch and seeing the the development of things is pretty
- 18:38cool too, but the launches are going to be sweet.
- 18:42That's like you imagine seeing a Starship launch.
- 18:44It's going to be wild. It's gonna be insane.
- 18:48Yeah, it's going to be crazy. Dan says, I honestly think
- 18:52booster 7 is ship 24, might launch by June or July.
- 18:55Well, there's a little bit of Is little bit of update for you
- 19:01here. Check this out.
- 19:03Check this out. This is the loop as always the
- 19:09permitting dashboard for the Starship, super heavy vehicle
- 19:13program is SpaceX Boca Chica site in Cameron County, Texas.
- 19:17So there's the FAA has to approve SpaceX to launch here in
- 19:22Boca Chica and they have to go through other agencies
- 19:25Department of Commerce. Noah Department of interior fish
- 19:30and wildlife service. Yeah.
- 19:33It's a, it's a, it's a bunch of people working together to get
- 19:37this done, but we are really close to the end of this thing.
- 19:41So there's there's a few other things we have to talk about to.
- 19:43There's a, there's a piper Bird that's kind of being sort of
- 19:48pushed back a little bit. The, it's an endangered species,
- 19:51and SpaceX is activities at Starbase or kind of the
- 19:57population is dwindling due to that.
- 19:59So the FAA has to take that in consideration as well and we'll
- 20:02see what happens with that. That in the next you know, few
- 20:05weeks after this cool thing, happened section, 106, review
- 20:12happened and it is complete right here.
- 20:15Look at this guy 106 review. The date was and 855 complete.
- 20:23It is complete. Holy cow.
- 20:25Space baller. Thank you so much for the Super
- 20:26Chat. Do you get any holy cow?
- 20:29We got to give you some Starships here.
- 20:30Hold on. Can't turn these on for you.
- 20:32There you go. Space baller.
- 20:35I thought it was a five-day drive to get out of Texas.
- 20:37It's pretty much. Well, it pretty much is like,
- 20:40Texas is huge. Thank you for that Super Chat.
- 20:44We're going to get into the 106 review in just a second and I
- 20:46got a I got a couple notes. I got to look at here for this
- 20:51because let's see here. It took down some notes earlier
- 20:57so about what this does and the 106 review is for the Well,
- 21:04historic preservation act so that's basically all the.
- 21:10So there's a lot of Civil War battles that happened down here,
- 21:14local historic sites to happen down here that are that are near
- 21:18Starbase, right? So as you're coming in to
- 21:21Starbase, thank you again for the super chassis can turn those
- 21:23off though. So as you're coming in to
- 21:26Starbase the there's there's historical sites, all down
- 21:31highway four others, at least two or three, Three on the way
- 21:35down highway for that. I can remember.
- 21:38I know there's a there's like a bigger pull off.
- 21:40On the right hand side about halfway down highway for and I
- 21:43think there's another one down there too.
- 21:45I can't remember exactly where it is and then there's one right
- 21:47next to Starbase like, literally as like, right by the launch
- 21:51site like like 100 yards away from launch site like not too
- 21:55far like as in I have filmed from there and I felt like all
- 22:00these Starbase trucks. You know like the wind of the
- 22:02Starbase trucks passing by me. It's right on the Side of
- 22:04highway for. So you can park on the side of
- 22:06the road at this historic site, and literally walk 100 yards
- 22:10across the road in your like, diagonal in your on Star base
- 22:14property or on SpaceX property. The the the cool thing is
- 22:22there's a lot of people that visit there.
- 22:24A lot of people that are into Heritage and you know into
- 22:28history and stuff like that. So that's pretty neat.
- 22:30I see people I see all sorts of different people down there.
- 22:33It's so this is kind of cool that this is actually you know
- 22:36like this is part of the history of Texas and I don't like right
- 22:40or wrong. I don't know like whatever
- 22:41whatever. Like whoever's in the the site
- 22:44of the battle or whatever the Civil War stuff.
- 22:46It's like who cares? If you're into that stuff, your
- 22:49You're into history, you're into history, that's it right?
- 22:52So you want to go down there if you want to check it out but you
- 22:54want to make sure that it's safe, right?
- 22:56And apparently this is what the 106 FAA thing was for write the
- 23:03essay section 106 review. It's a the National Historic
- 23:06preservation act part of the assessment.
- 23:07That was evaluated for evaluating the proposed changes
- 23:11in terms of the impact on local historic sites.
- 23:14It was the last consultation that was pending in a means of
- 23:16the Eis is almost finished. So There's a possibility.
- 23:20This thing actually gets done by the end of this month, but they
- 23:26have to assess. If there's any risk for damage
- 23:28to these landmarks, right? They have kind of like a
- 23:32historical and, and I wouldn't say it's like a gravestone, but
- 23:35it's very similar to that kind of historic kind of Monument.
- 23:39It's sort of, sort of, sort of grapes.
- 23:41Tony. I don't know how to say it, but
- 23:43it's a stone little Monument there on the side of the road.
- 23:49As always, like flags and stuff all over it.
- 23:51People put flowers on it, things like that.
- 23:53But if something were to happen to a booster or a ship during
- 23:56launch or Landing, could this Historic Site be impacted, could
- 24:03some shrapnel from, you know, a booster or a ship fly out onto
- 24:09this historic site and damage it somehow.
- 24:12And if it does, what does SpaceX do to fix that problem, right?
- 24:16So that's what the 106 is about. That was done today.
- 24:21So that was that's all done. Michael Baylor, chimed in to on
- 24:25Twitter here. From next space flight section,
- 24:30106 review for Starship from Boca Chica is complete.
- 24:33The FAA appears to be on track to release the environmental
- 24:36assessment by the end of the month.
- 24:38So this doesn't mean that the they made it through the
- 24:42environmental assessment yet. They're, they're one step
- 24:44closer, and it doesn't mean that they're approved yet.
- 24:47So, It's a possibility. They completed the assessment
- 24:53doesn't mean that they have, you know, they have a go for this,
- 24:58they could still have a no-go for this so we'll see what
- 25:01happens in the next few weeks because the 106 review, its it
- 25:06was the last one and then we have, you know, by the end of
- 25:11the month we have yeah the end a 5:30 so 560, everything's done.
- 25:18Right then the environmental assessment.
- 25:21That's the last one by 5:30 you know, final final Final then
- 25:26we'll know by the end of this month, if Starship will be able
- 25:29to launch from Starbase and I really hope it does.
- 25:32If it doesn't, well, it looks like SpaceX will probably move
- 25:37everything to Florida. You know, they'll still be
- 25:40building here. They'll still be doing R&D here.
- 25:41They'll still be doing everything to test starships and
- 25:46stuff here but the environmental assessment Aunt, may possibly
- 25:50not allow them to launch from Boca Chica Texas.
- 25:53And there was, there's a There's an endangered.
- 25:59Bird is well, I got to show you this thing too and that's it's
- 26:02kind of a thing, right? That I want to show you guys
- 26:05because I think it's important that every sort of topic is
- 26:10covered here because we all want it.
- 26:12Like we all want SpaceX to to launch this thing, right?
- 26:15We all wanted to launch, but it's an environmental assessment
- 26:20and I got to show you guys this. I'll read you guys awesome.
- 26:23This is from Fortune. I saw this found this article
- 26:26habitat of an endangered bird found only.
- 26:28Only on North American, coastlines Could Fall by half.
- 26:33Near SpaceX is Texas, rocket site, if it is expanded putting
- 26:37the plant enlargement in question.
- 26:39So SpaceX is Rocky so right now Boca Chica Starbase.
- 26:43If they want to make it bigger, it's possible that these birds
- 26:47can be taken out a little bit by half the expansion.
- 26:53So it goes on to say, especially Elon musk's SpaceX starter,
- 26:57Starship launch site in Boca Chica Texas, which is yet to get
- 27:00approval for the FAA Authority or It has come under scrutiny
- 27:03over its possible impact on the critical habitat the piping
- 27:07plover bird piping plover. Whose population in the area has
- 27:12fallen by half since spacex's arrival in endangered species.
- 27:18Population has been cut in half because of SpaceX so could that
- 27:24hinder spacex's ability to get through the FAA, environmental
- 27:29assessment, there's a possibility as well as the
- 27:33impact it could have on the nearby habitats of the red.
- 27:36Not burden to breeds of Wildcat oscillates and I don't know how
- 27:40to say that word Jaguar, Jaguar run this, I've never seen that
- 27:44word before my life, according to documents for the US fish and
- 27:46wildlife service. So It looks like there are some
- 27:50endangered species and some other species that are
- 27:54threatened by SpaceX being at Starbase and there's
- 27:57documentation for it. So not only is SpaceX doing
- 28:03rocket stuff, but they're also possibly hurting Wildlife, this
- 28:08there already that's been there for a long time, you know.
- 28:11So there's a There's a possibility that the
- 28:17environmental assessment doesn't go through.
- 28:20You know, they may look at this and go like look, man, we have
- 28:22to protect these animals. We have the tech, protect these
- 28:24birds, and we have to protect Deborah Halls.
- 28:27Super Chat. Thanks Debs appreciate that KJ.
- 28:31Love the birds. Yeah, I see all sorts of birds.
- 28:34When I go down there, I see all sorts of wildlife want to go
- 28:36down there. It's, it's a whole different
- 28:38environment than what I'm used to.
- 28:41The just I don't even know dozens of birds every time we go
- 28:46down dozens of birds and I don't know if I've ever seen a piping
- 28:51plover has that was killed I don't even know what that is.
- 28:54They was it called, piping plover, Plover plumber Plover.
- 29:00Is it pronounced lover like lover, Plover, Plover, whose
- 29:05population of the area Fallen by half since SpaceX is arrival,
- 29:08which is really sad if you think about it.
- 29:10I mean, if you, if you really look into it, Yes, I came in
- 29:14these birds have been there for a while.
- 29:17This is there. This is their home.
- 29:18You know, that's where they hang out and then SpaceX came in and
- 29:22kind of took over and did its thing, you know, it's a critical
- 29:26habitat. So we'll SpaceX be able to push
- 29:31through this environmental assessment due, to something
- 29:34like this. Like, is this part of it?
- 29:36But not only, this. This is only one document that's
- 29:38been released. Are there other documents that
- 29:40will be released released? About this that say, like
- 29:44there's horrible more horrible. Things in Space X is doing a
- 29:46Starbase. And my do I love SpaceX?
- 29:49I think they're doing great work.
- 29:51But the fish and wildlife and the conservationists things like
- 29:58that they're doing, you know, in their field.
- 30:01They're doing the same thing, like they're doing what they're
- 30:03supposed to be doing. So it's going to be a, it's
- 30:06going to be a toss-up if SpaceX actually gets through this,
- 30:10which is going to be kind of. Yeah, it's got to be a
- 30:13nail-biter, until the very end. I guess who could predict that
- 30:18the bird wasn't on honest demise anyway, right.
- 30:21Yeah. Then like, you don't know if
- 30:24SpaceX caused it, if there's any proof this fake sex cause this,
- 30:28or if it was just on its way out.
- 30:30Anyway, like you were saying Tom, you know, it's, it's It's
- 30:36sad, you know, that something like that.
- 30:38Could happen, but we don't know. The reason why it's happening,
- 30:41is it because SpaceX or is it just because of natural stuff
- 30:44that's happening down there at Starbase in the Starbase area.
- 30:48Michael Maxie says, it's similar to a Sandpiper.
- 30:51Okay. Okay.
- 30:53Could they, can they put a fishing net around Starbase?
- 30:57Like to catch fish or two. Catch birds, I don't know.
- 31:05I mean, I guess they could. I mean, technically they could,
- 31:07they could build a rocket that can go to Mars.
- 31:09So I think they could technically, I don't know why
- 31:12they would put a fishing net around there though.
- 31:16That seems right. I don't know why.
- 31:19But there's this another thing that I want to talk to you guys
- 31:22about to. So what do you think?
- 31:24Like, do you think they're going to be able to launch this thing?
- 31:27I don't know. I don't know, but I want to, I
- 31:30want to say thanks to Deb's again for the Super Chat.
- 31:35I got one more thing for you. Do have to take off, hold on one
- 31:40second. Let's get this going.
- 31:42There's a couple things actually.
- 31:44There's some testing boosters. I haven't actually got down to
- 31:47the to the launch site today and it is on the pad.
- 31:52It's on the orbital flight path. Yeah.
- 31:54Orbital flight pad and it's possible that we get some
- 31:59testing next week. So check this out because we got
- 32:03some closures coming up. Possibly Monday, Tuesday, and
- 32:10Wednesday will be get some testing from booster 7.
- 32:16So Monday. The 9th possible closure from 10
- 32:20a.m. to 10 p.m. usually. That means there's some sort of
- 32:22testing going on with something. If 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. that's a
- 32:25whole Dane 12 hours, Tuesday, same thing. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- 32:30possible, closure, Wednesday, same thing, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- 32:34possible closure. What does this mean?
- 32:36They're going to close it? Now, there's only possibility
- 32:39that they do. They might have to do some stuff
- 32:40over the weekend, get the get the booster prepped, get
- 32:44everything ready to get it all hooked up, get it hooked up to
- 32:46the pipes, you know. All the all the tubes is I like
- 32:49to say and all the all the electromechanical things that
- 32:52have to go into it in order to do probably going to do another
- 32:55pressure test, probably going to do another cryo test.
- 32:58The downcomer pipe has supposedly been fixed.
- 33:01We will see. I mean that's what's going to
- 33:03happen in the next week we're going See if it can withstand
- 33:07the pressure and do a full load test of all the stuff.
- 33:11And if that's the case, if that's going to happen and that
- 33:14goes through and environmental assessment goes through in the
- 33:19next 20 ish days, then we might see a static fire of booster
- 33:24seven in the next, you know, 2025 days, something like that.
- 33:28So that's going to be incredibly cool ship, 24, still being
- 33:33built. Not quite right again, the move
- 33:36that down to the the launch site, they're going to have to
- 33:39do all sorts of testing on it. They're going to have to do cryo
- 33:42test, they're going to have to do pressure test.
- 33:44They're going to have to do, Raptor tests.
- 33:47Eventually few less sucker up, get it.
- 33:50Ready to fly, there you have to do a fit test as well.
- 33:53So they're going to have to stack it on top.
- 33:55So they're going to do another stack.
- 33:56Just like they did in February and March of this year, they're
- 33:59going to do a stack of ship on top of a booster.
- 34:01It's going to be a beautiful. I've seen two of them.
- 34:04And it's absolutely gorgeous. It's absolutely stunning to see
- 34:08that thing live, so they're going to have to do that in
- 34:12order to do a full flight. So it's going to take a little
- 34:14while before they get this thing ready.
- 34:16So I'm guessing. let's see since it's Mets.
- 34:26And it's probably going to be about 20, know where the end of
- 34:29the month. I'll have the hopefully, get the
- 34:31stuff done. So let's just do a little bit of
- 34:33math, mid-june start doing some booster, you know, or some some
- 34:40some ship testing. July, August.
- 34:47I'm think I'm thinking August or September for a flight.
- 34:50So who said that earlier in chat too?
- 34:53By the way. you said earlier, I know, somebody said that earlier
- 35:04Let's see who said that. Somebody said earlier that there
- 35:06that they said it was like August or September.
- 35:09Yeah, I can't find it in chat but oh yeah they're go 11 Sons
- 35:14August or September the launch. I'm right there with you.
- 35:19I'm right there with you. A booster 7 does not have its
- 35:22Raptors. Yeah, but we're just waiting on
- 35:25all that stuff too. Like all the other Hardware has
- 35:26to come in. They have to then they have to
- 35:28ship it back to the Bay put those on or they can proud.
- 35:32Maybe do it at the it's a launch site will see but yeah the
- 35:39possibility that we get a launch, I'm guessing August or
- 35:42September, I wish it were. I wish things went faster.
- 35:45I really do because I was down here in September.
- 35:48Her and I was like, yeah, I'm gonna see a launch in September,
- 35:51right? I got down here, September 11th,
- 35:53like first day in, in town was the tenth and then on the 11th
- 35:56day went to Starbase and I was like, yeah, I'm gonna see you
- 35:59launched. Like mid-september.
- 36:00Maybe maybe if they push it back October.
- 36:06Yeah, right. It's gonna be a whole year.
- 36:10Yeah. So, You know, it's like it's
- 36:15not, you know, I'm kind of hoping that it happens sooner
- 36:20than later, but I'm not expecting it.
- 36:22Like we shouldn't expect a launch until September.
- 36:25It's like you'd want to kind of plan for the worst but hope for
- 36:29the best for this thing it's just like SLS you know like you
- 36:32plan for the worst but you hope for the best you like maybe it's
- 36:35going to launch sometime this year.
- 36:39And then if it launches like early or like, you know, June is
- 36:44when the next launch window opens.
- 36:47I believe. I think it's John or something
- 36:50like that, June, or July. I can't remember, but August,
- 36:54probably september/october SLS. So if SLS launches, I'm hoping
- 36:58to get down to Florida to see that.
- 37:00I've already worked it out with my new boss.
- 37:01I was like, look, man, I got these two launches SLS and I
- 37:05guess Starship launch. So I got take work.
- 37:08I get take time off work and they were like cool, man.
- 37:11All right, let's do it. It's a just to kind of give you
- 37:17guys perspective that it's a company that I used to work for
- 37:20and accompanies really cool. The boss man to CEOs, super
- 37:24cool. I had a run-in like, I've been
- 37:26looking for jobs for a while now.
- 37:28And it was the it was, it was a, it was a tough, there was a
- 37:36tough one, but it was it turned out for the best.
- 37:38So I had I had a job interview. This is totally off topic but I
- 37:42think it's funny at a job interview with a guy who was a
- 37:45CEO of a company and the beginning of the interview
- 37:49interview was cool. The guy was nice.
- 37:51He was a little bit late as five minutes late, and when you're
- 37:54doing a job interview in, you're the person that's being
- 37:56interviewed. You expect the person that's
- 37:58interviewing you to be on time because you're on time and they
- 38:01keep you waiting, right? So, you're like, oh man.
- 38:04So like, I'm just like hanging out waiting in the zoom call.
- 38:08All and guy shows up. We talked about, you know, hey
- 38:13man, how's it going? Hope you're doing great, and I'm
- 38:15just talking like, I normally talk like a normal person and
- 38:19the guys kind of like, taken aback by it.
- 38:20He's like, why are you like talking like a like a candidate,
- 38:25you know, like, why are you talking like, you need this job?
- 38:28And it's because I like whatever I just talk like me and so I was
- 38:35talking to this guy and we were talking about you know, like
- 38:37life and stuff. It was weird.
- 38:38It was a weirdest conversation like weirdest job interview
- 38:41ever. I was talking to him about How
- 38:45he's super tired, all the time, and how his his life is like
- 38:49stuck in his office all the time and he's the CEO of a company,
- 38:52right? I'm not a, I'm not a therapist,
- 38:55right? This dude's talking to me about
- 38:58his life and I don't care. Like, I don't care about you
- 39:03like I just want this job, man. I need to get paid brother, like
- 39:07I don't care that you're always in your freaking office, 100% of
- 39:11the time, any never get to see the light of day.
- 39:13And you don't, Get to go outside and you don't have a vacation.
- 39:16I don't care what I want to know is so I asked the guy.
- 39:20He said he works 14 hour days every day, right?
- 39:24You said he works for ten hour days every day and I was like,
- 39:25Hey, do you expect your employees to work 14-hour days
- 39:29as well? Simple question.
- 39:32Does he expect his employees to work the same hours that he
- 39:36does, right? And he said, I expect my
- 39:41employees to work hard. but I thought, I took me a second.
- 39:47I was like, so. So do you expect your employees
- 39:51to work 14-hour days like you do?
- 39:54I asked him again? The same question he could have
- 39:56just said, yes or no easy, easy answer.
- 40:00He said he looked right at me like stared into my stared into
- 40:03my soul and said I expect my employees to work hard.
- 40:09Like kind of like you don't. Don't you dare talk to me like
- 40:14that CEO. He's son of a bitch, right?
- 40:18So I'm like no you don't get to do that to me, I didn't see that
- 40:21but I was like, I was like, okay, so what you're telling me
- 40:24is in this is this is very close to what I said.
- 40:27So you're telling me is because you're the CEO, you get to you
- 40:31work, you work really hard, right?
- 40:33But you in the employees, we talked about this earlier.
- 40:37We talked about the employees not Ting shares of the company
- 40:41and I was like, okay, cool. So you have S start up.
- 40:44So I was like, okay, so first 10 people usually get some shares,
- 40:48right is either worked out in the deal.
- 40:50Worked out later. Startup Tech startup, right?
- 40:54So you got shares, dude's got shares.
- 40:57So I was like, so the, the workers don't get any any
- 41:03shares. So it's like, okay.
- 41:05So the workers don't get any shares they get paid, right?
- 41:09Around salary. So you get x amount of dollars
- 41:11per year. So if you want them to work
- 41:1414-hour days in a normal work, our your work day is like eight
- 41:18hours. Do you pay them overtime?
- 41:22And I just can't kind of set there and I waited for him to
- 41:24answer it and answer was like. So you're expecting your
- 41:27employees to work overtime. 14-hour days, it's seven extra
- 41:31hours per day, that they should be not at the office, they
- 41:35should be outside. They should be enjoying
- 41:37themselves with their family and their kids and their A friends
- 41:40enjoying the weather, doing sports doing activities, living
- 41:44life, the work-life balance thing as like so.
- 41:48But then, but you, you're going to cash out when you get
- 41:53acquired because that's what most tech companies, do they get
- 41:56acquired make for a lot of money and that you cash out.
- 42:01So your 14-hour days are worth it.
- 42:03And then when you get equi hired from this new company, in the
- 42:07new company fires, all the employees from your company,
- 42:12right? So what happens to those people?
- 42:15They spent those 14 hours every day for like five years busting
- 42:20their asses to get to make you rich.
- 42:24And I said, all this stuff to the guy is like to make you rich
- 42:26because you got a golden parachute, all these 14-hour
- 42:29days, you do, if you cash out, you make that money.
- 42:34And the guy was just like Like what?
- 42:38Like I just, I realized like, I called his bluff.
- 42:42I'm like, no, dude, you don't treat your employees like that.
- 42:44So, I called his bluff and I said that it is, this is kept
- 42:47totally off topic. A hundred percent off topic, but
- 42:49I thought it was funny and because I was job hunting, and
- 42:52we talked about that earlier. And so I said, look, I'm not
- 42:57interested in new job. I hope you, I hope you get some
- 43:01help and you go outside in. You kind of step away, you know,
- 43:05for what you're doing and realize what you're doing.
- 43:07Doing and I really hope sometime you get to see your kid again
- 43:12and enjoy some time with them, have a great day not interested
- 43:16in, then I hung up on him. What's like okay, that sucked
- 43:22what a horrible interview. Right.
- 43:24And then like instantly this all ties into the beginning of the
- 43:28of the of the show to and then like instantly I was like, man
- 43:32what a, what a jerk, you know, I have others words that I want to
- 43:36call him, but but for YouTube, I'm not going to So I typed to
- 43:42my old boss, I was like hey, you know, there's some weird stuff
- 43:45going on with my resume right now, is it cool if I dislike
- 43:49move some stuff around? Because I was working for the
- 43:50guy for basically five years and I took like, a couple months to
- 43:53do a side project like I dislike Try to say I worked for you for
- 43:58five years and the guys like yeah that sounds cool.
- 44:02You looking for work and I said I was like, yeah, just looking
- 44:05around, you know, I'm just trying to find some places place
- 44:08to work and this is like I'm laughing because this last
- 44:10interview it was because it's hilarious that that dude was
- 44:12such a dork. And so the guys like oh yeah,
- 44:16you know, what's your availability?
- 44:18And I was like, I don't know what you get.
- 44:20I was like, you know, part-time full-time, whatever it is like
- 44:24cool. All right, you want a job.
- 44:26I was like 100% And then he's like, all right, cool, you can
- 44:30start on Monday. So that was a job interview went
- 44:35from like the literally worst job interview ever where I had
- 44:39to tell the CEO to get a life to like I just call that dude out,
- 44:43I didn't care like, who is this guy?
- 44:45I don't know who he is to to like, literally the guy that I
- 44:51really enjoy working for like, it's a really cool job.
- 44:55I love it. It's a coding job.
- 44:56So I'm Going back to what I love and what I know and then it's
- 45:00going to help me fund at the channel even more, you know?
- 45:04So that's the that's part of it as like, I got to get a job so I
- 45:07can help fund these trips to SLS, Dragon launches, Starship,
- 45:15launches all this stuff. So, it's all working out.
- 45:17Like, it's not perfect, in nothing, like, you got to make
- 45:21changes. So, You know, it's a still talk.
- 45:25I'm still thinking about that CEO guy.
- 45:27I'm like, dude, what Thomas, like, whatever, whatever, dude.
- 45:33So there's a lot of like there's a lot of other space reporters.
- 45:37You know, that are reporting. They'll never talk like this to
- 45:40you. So I appreciate you stopping by
- 45:42and hanging out and having going to have to learn this
- 45:44conversation with me. Because, you know, these are the
- 45:48things that that I love to talk about, you know, sometimes the
- 45:51it goes off the rails. Al's it's more of a podcast in a
- 45:54them, a new show, the name pod is in the in the title for a
- 45:58reason because you can just ramble about stuff sometimes if
- 46:00you want to. But I do actually have to go.
- 46:05I have to have to go do a bunch of packing and stuff.
- 46:08I'm trying to get up to 48% tonight.
- 46:10Backing who called me called me up for the exact 45% earlier,
- 46:16Greg Smith. Thank you for calling me out on
- 46:17that, 45% and try to get to 48 percent.
- 46:21Deb said, can we get to 100 likes were 83, thank you
- 46:25everybody who's like this 83 likes like I really am.
- 46:32And I'm going to be totally honest with you guys and totally
- 46:34Earnest with you because there's a lot, there's a lot of stuff
- 46:38going on. And I want to say that like I
- 46:41really love you guys and I really do appreciate all of your
- 46:45support. Like I literally couldn't do
- 46:47this without you guys and I'll wear my heart on my sleeve.
- 46:52You know. I'm not going to be the, I'm not
- 46:55going to wear a tie. I'm not going to be like the
- 46:56newscaster guy. Just be a normal person that you
- 46:59can talk to about space stuff. If so, I really do appreciate
- 47:02all of you just like, hitting the like button like super easy
- 47:07super quick. It only takes a second and it
- 47:10really does help the show. You know.
- 47:11Like you don't understand how much YouTube loves that kind of
- 47:15stuff like, interactions. They absolutely loved it.
- 47:17So I couldn't do this without you.
