- 0:27What is going on, everybody?
- 0:29Welcome to the Clydesdale
- 0:30Media Roundtable.
- 0:33I know Kenneth's already
- 0:34here saying there should be
- 0:35a lot to talk about.
- 0:36What's odd is this is really
- 0:38like our lifestyle type
- 0:40show that we do once a week.
- 0:42So it's not like super
- 0:43serious CrossFit show.
- 0:45I'm a super serious CrossFitter.
- 0:47But, yeah,
- 0:48but we talk about like how it
- 0:50affects us and like the people around us.
- 0:54And we have our third.
- 0:56Yeah.
- 0:56Yeah.
- 0:57There she is.
- 0:59Hey, I thought it was early.
- 1:02But, but,
- 1:05but a lot of shit has happened in
- 1:07the last 24 to 48 hours.
- 1:10So we're probably going to
- 1:11be talking about that.
- 1:15So, but first of all, let's,
- 1:17we always open this up with
- 1:19how are you guys all doing?
- 1:20Anything big happen for you
- 1:22guys this weekend?
- 1:25Well,
- 1:25I shared with you guys on the text stream,
- 1:27but I was pretty excited that Shmoopy.
- 1:30Who?
- 1:30Nate Radowski.
- 1:34Yeah, my kid.
- 1:35It seems like he's still a young kid,
- 1:37but he's an adult.
- 1:38And he took his level one.
- 1:41and, um, passed and has started to, um,
- 1:45do some coaching and, um,
- 1:47it's been awesome to,
- 1:48to kind of watch that path.
- 1:49And he's always, like I've said before,
- 1:51he's always coached me like
- 1:53at home or something, you know,
- 1:54if we're in the garage,
- 1:55he's got a great eye.
- 1:56Um, but to see him get to, um,
- 1:58explore that with other athletes is cool.
- 2:02So cool.
- 2:03Yeah.
- 2:03Yeah.
- 2:05I can't,
- 2:05I couldn't even imagine if like
- 2:07Corey got her level one,
- 2:08how I would feel.
- 2:09So I can't imagine.
- 2:11yeah correct what and he's
- 2:15using it yeah exactly I
- 2:19would just be happy if my
- 2:20kids showed up at my gym
- 2:21and worked out every once
- 2:22in a while that would be
- 2:24really nice yeah my
- 2:26daughter's boyfriend came
- 2:27to the gym last week he
- 2:28asked if he could come and
- 2:29he showed up with a friend
- 2:30of his and I watched him on
- 2:31the security camera fiddle
- 2:33around with the with the um
- 2:36the Wi-Fi to try to get the
- 2:37music going for about 20 minutes.
- 2:38Him and his buddy.
- 2:40Part of me wanted to just
- 2:43click on and talk to him about it.
- 2:44I was like,
- 2:45I'm just going to let them figure it out.
- 2:47For sure.
- 2:49Oh, people's champ is showing up.
- 2:55The question is, he's here.
- 2:56I can't get him in.
- 3:01Well, that's because we're three.
- 3:02He's banned.
- 3:04Well, usually...
- 3:07I'm trying.
- 3:10There we go.
- 3:12I meant to do a wardrobe change.
- 3:14I meant to wear this new shirt that I got.
- 3:16So cool.
- 3:20Only took me a full season
- 3:21to get it to you.
- 3:22I know.
- 3:22That's okay.
- 3:23I love it.
- 3:24Thank you.
- 3:26Speaking of Thick Boy,
- 3:29he's going to be on the show Thursday.
- 3:33uh 11 a.m talking about what
- 3:36he how he created this
- 3:37whole thing and in less
- 3:38than a year is already
- 3:40going to be one of the
- 3:41presenting sponsors of the
- 3:42masters crossfit games it's
- 3:44going to be he is working
- 3:46with thunder bro he's
- 3:47working with a bunch of top
- 3:50level organizations making
- 3:52their shirts and stuff so
- 3:54we're going to dive into
- 3:55all of that on thursday is
- 3:57thunder still a thing it is
- 3:59every once in a while
- 4:02You mean after What's-His-Face left,
- 4:04Jason Ackerman, they still survived?
- 4:06We have Charles Worth left.
- 4:07I'm pretty sure.
- 4:08Imagine that.
- 4:09Imagine that.
- 4:10Yeah.
- 4:10And Camille has her thing, too.
- 4:13And they're combined as one business now.
- 4:16Okay.
- 4:17That's awesome.
- 4:20So, yeah.
- 4:22So, Shmoopy has his level one.
- 4:24He's using it as a coach.
- 4:25Mm-hmm.
- 4:26Charlie somehow got enough
- 4:27Wi Fi to get into the the meeting today,
- 4:31which is going and the two PS twos.
- 4:36And Charlie and I aren't
- 4:38fighting because he worked out today.
- 4:41I did.
- 4:44Not fun.
- 4:45I worked out today.
- 4:47What'd you do?
- 4:47Cause I couldn't work out yesterday.
- 4:48I'm leading a project at
- 4:50work and yesterday was sign off day.
- 4:52So I got up, I did it at my morning break.
- 4:55It was awful.
- 4:56It was Annie with a cap of 15 minutes.
- 4:59Okay.
- 4:59Every time you have left is 10, 20,
- 5:0430 on of cow bike and wall balls.
- 5:12My gym is back on track with
- 5:13your programming.
- 5:14So that's our workout for today as well.
- 5:16I should have paced Annie much more.
- 5:20Yeah.
- 5:20I think in the notes, though, it said,
- 5:22like, go for a PR or something.
- 5:24I was like, what?
- 5:25That's crazy.
- 5:27The wall ball,
- 5:28I just don't have the timing
- 5:29back on the wall balls yet.
- 5:30Like, and I only have a 20-pound ball,
- 5:33so there's no scaling in my garage.
- 5:38So, yeah, it's just.
- 5:39Is it 1,897 degrees where you guys live,
- 5:42too?
- 5:45It actually cooled off today.
- 5:47Yes.
- 5:48But it had been.
- 5:49Yes.
- 5:50Yeah.
- 5:51It's going to be 100 degrees
- 5:52here tomorrow.
- 5:54We're finally getting some rain,
- 5:55which we needed.
- 5:57And now I know how old I am
- 5:58because I've been worried
- 5:59about the rain because of my yard.
- 6:01Yep.
- 6:02That's where I'm at right now.
- 6:04There's a new grass patch
- 6:05out front and a tree that I planted.
- 6:07And it's like, ah.
- 6:09I planted a vegetable garden
- 6:10for the first time in like
- 6:12probably 10 years.
- 6:13And I'm so worried about my
- 6:14veggies getting their water.
- 6:17It's been freaking me out
- 6:18that we've gotten no rain.
- 6:20I know.
- 6:20We're old.
- 6:21We're all old.
- 6:23But I got one pepper already.
- 6:25So why Charlie?
- 6:27We I'll do any of this stuff.
- 6:32Well, listen,
- 6:33did you get your mower fixed?
- 6:36I did.
- 6:38Because your wife fixed it
- 6:39or you got a new one?
- 6:39I had to fix it.
- 6:42Let's not.
- 6:43I got a new one.
- 6:45She sent you a fake video.
- 6:46Oh, look at me.
- 6:47I fixed it.
- 6:47And then it didn't work.
- 6:53Well, yeah.
- 6:55Yeah.
- 6:57Yeah.
- 6:57Julie is always going to fix something.
- 6:59We've talked about this the
- 7:00last couple of weeks.
- 7:01Like 10 minutes in and says, F it.
- 7:05And then I'm left to come in
- 7:06and clean up whatever mess she's made.
- 7:08Yep.
- 7:09I feel like it's a trap.
- 7:11Oh, I, it was a complete strategy.
- 7:14It is like,
- 7:16she knows that it's going to
- 7:17drive me nuts to have like
- 7:18all the paint supplies out
- 7:20or all of this out.
- 7:21And then I'm going to go
- 7:22finish whatever she started.
- 7:26Yeah,
- 7:26but at least you guys have like joint
- 7:28projects, right?
- 7:29That's kind of nice to be
- 7:30able to work on together.
- 7:32It's like I'll be away
- 7:33getting groceries or I'll
- 7:35be at work doing something,
- 7:36come home to the mess that
- 7:39was started without my knowledge.
- 7:42And now my whole day is
- 7:44cleaning up whatever was started.
- 7:48Have your spouses ever
- 7:49initiated a project and
- 7:51done something that you
- 7:52absolutely hated or like?
- 7:55had to veto or said like, Nope,
- 7:56we're not doing this.
- 7:57No.
- 7:57Cause it's usually,
- 7:58I'm usually the one in
- 7:59charge of the ideas and just,
- 8:05Charlie is Lisa in charge
- 8:06of like the decorating and
- 8:07designing things.
- 8:09Yes.
- 8:09Okay.
- 8:11Is Julia, is Jules part of that too?
- 8:13Scott, she's in charge of the design.
- 8:16Pretty much.
- 8:17Okay.
- 8:20Cool.
- 8:21Yeah.
- 8:21I have this room.
- 8:24Everything else is decorated by her.
- 8:28So update on the deck project.
- 8:33That's what I was doing today.
- 8:35So I had replaced all the
- 8:37boards and I told you that
- 8:40I did most of it, but Scott,
- 8:41I'm not authorized to use a saw.
- 8:45So Scott had to do that part,
- 8:48but I did everything else.
- 8:50And then it was too hot last week,
- 8:52so I didn't do any painting.
- 8:53And then two days ago,
- 8:55I went out and power washed
- 8:56the deck and cleaned it off.
- 8:57And then today I started painting.
- 8:59I'm about halfway done.
- 9:00And then I had to pack up
- 9:01because there's rain happening.
- 9:04But it's much cooler.
- 9:05Are you painting or staining?
- 9:07Well, it's deck over stain.
- 9:10Okay.
- 9:10Yeah.
- 9:11Cool.
- 9:14So using my fitness there
- 9:15because that five-gallon
- 9:16bucket that I'm carrying around of paint.
- 9:19Mm-hmm.
- 9:22What do you do with Murph?
- 9:23Does he have access to the deck?
- 9:24You have to keep him off the deck?
- 9:26Well, it will dry really quickly,
- 9:27but I just end up having
- 9:29him go out front.
- 9:34So it's a good thing you
- 9:34guys can't smell me because
- 9:36I went to the gym and then
- 9:37came home and just started painting.
- 9:38And I was like, oh, well,
- 9:39I better clean up because I
- 9:40got to get on podcast.
- 9:41So, whoo!
- 9:44I have a quick question for
- 9:45Charlie so you guys can
- 9:46just talk amongst yourselves.
- 9:50With the Florida Panthers
- 9:51winning the Stanley Cup
- 9:52last night and Bob being their goalie,
- 9:56as a Blue Jackets fan,
- 9:59do you root for him or are
- 10:00you pissed that he won a cup?
- 10:08I do not root for him because he left,
- 10:11but no.
- 10:15No, I don't root for him.
- 10:16Well,
- 10:16the Blue Jackets didn't even try to
- 10:18re-sign him.
- 10:19At the time,
- 10:20they said he wasn't good enough.
- 10:22Wow.
- 10:24That's a different story.
- 10:27And since then,
- 10:27how have the Blue Jackets done?
- 10:31Not good, okay?
- 10:34And he just won the Cup,
- 10:35so just wanted to get
- 10:36your... That group's not here anymore.
- 10:41We've moved on.
- 10:42We don't look in the past.
- 10:43We look forward.
- 10:44We don't really look forward either.
- 10:45We just kind of,
- 10:48we're looking way forward.
- 10:51Please don't leave.
- 10:51All right.
- 10:52Well,
- 10:55we got to get a couple big items out
- 10:57of the way that happened in
- 10:58CrossFit in the last 48 hours.
- 11:01And I'm going to start with
- 11:02Dawn fall was on coffee
- 11:03pods and wads and about 35
- 11:07minutes into the conversation, uh,
- 11:09the first 35 minutes are
- 11:11about affiliates and,
- 11:13and growing CrossFit and
- 11:14all of that stuff.
- 11:15And not that that's not important,
- 11:16but it doesn't really pertain to us.
- 11:1935 minutes,
- 11:20they'd start talking about media.
- 11:23And when they start talking about media,
- 11:24it starts with that.
- 11:26There is a group of people
- 11:27out there that are being
- 11:31very negative and, uh, cutting down,
- 11:37cutting down individuals, uh,
- 11:40and don fall doesn't like it
- 11:42and he he actually I
- 11:44believe got emotional about
- 11:45his response to that group
- 11:49well it's very clear who
- 11:50that group was and then
- 11:51they addressed it yeah
- 11:55murph's pissed about it too
- 11:59um peter then followed up
- 12:03with are we talking about hiller
- 12:07And he said, yes,
- 12:08he is part of that group.
- 12:11And then he got very
- 12:12emotional and said that, you know,
- 12:15when he signed up for this,
- 12:17he knew that this stuff was coming.
- 12:20But some of the people that
- 12:21they have hired did not
- 12:23know this was coming,
- 12:23and it's unfair to them to
- 12:25be attacked in this way.
- 12:27So I will open it up for your thoughts.
- 12:31Who's getting attacked?
- 12:33So if you haven't seen...
- 12:36No, I mean, I have seen,
- 12:37and that's why I'm saying,
- 12:38but I'm still saying,
- 12:39I'm still asking the question.
- 12:42Chief people officer has been attacked.
- 12:46Is that JD?
- 12:49Jada Coons was attacked at one time.
- 12:52There's another person like
- 12:53a couple of weeks ago that was listed as,
- 12:57as somebody too.
- 12:57I can't remember.
- 12:58Attacked verbally.
- 13:02Hiller put out a video using
- 13:05like a video he got of them
- 13:07and then make statements
- 13:09about that person throughout.
- 13:12I believe that's, they don't,
- 13:14they don't say specifically
- 13:15in this interview what
- 13:17they're pissed about.
- 13:19And I say they,
- 13:20because simultaneously on the same day,
- 13:22Dave did his weekend review
- 13:24and said the same,
- 13:27almost verbatim what Don fall said.
- 13:31uh about like basically
- 13:34don't hurt my family if you
- 13:36want to come after me great
- 13:38that I can take it but
- 13:39don't come after the other
- 13:40people who signed up for
- 13:41this who didn't sign up for
- 13:43this so Aaron Fraser says
- 13:47uh he used their own words
- 13:49so basically he plays a
- 13:50video uses what they said
- 13:53and then gives his commentary on that
- 14:01Yeah,
- 14:03I don't know if I would call that
- 14:05attacking, but... Who is Hiller?
- 14:11Why would he care?
- 14:16What's Hiller going to do?
- 14:19Great, you talked about... Okay.
- 14:22Yeah, well, I mean,
- 14:24he's got a huge platform,
- 14:26and I think he's trying to expose...
- 14:31things about the
- 14:32organization that that
- 14:40maybe he doesn't agree with
- 14:42or that he doesn't think
- 14:44most people agree with
- 14:45because I do think he's I
- 14:48think in his mind he's
- 14:49representing a large
- 14:52faction of people that are
- 14:54fans of the sport or that
- 14:56are doing the methodology
- 15:00And he definitely causes...
- 15:04It's polarizing, right?
- 15:05I mean,
- 15:05you're either kind of for him or
- 15:08against him.
- 15:08It's hard to sort of play a
- 15:12middle role there.
- 15:16But I think it's entertaining.
- 15:18I think he tries to
- 15:19entertain his audience and...
- 15:23I don't know.
- 15:23Do you guys think he's
- 15:24crossed the line on this stuff?
- 15:25Is that what I'm hearing?
- 15:27I think he is really
- 15:28passionate about CrossFit.
- 15:30And I think he is a great
- 15:32benefit to CrossFit because of that.
- 15:34Because he cares so much.
- 15:35If he wasn't caring as much about CrossFit,
- 15:38then why would he be
- 15:39dabbling and speaking so
- 15:41much and using his platform for it?
- 15:43It did give me a little bit
- 15:44of pause when Don was
- 15:46saying when he attacks individuals.
- 15:49And I...
- 15:51And I don't want to I don't
- 15:52want to reference that.
- 15:53I think that he necessarily
- 15:54attacks individuals,
- 15:55but I do think he calls out
- 15:57individual people.
- 15:58He targets.
- 16:00Yeah, that's a better word.
- 16:01Yeah.
- 16:02Yeah.
- 16:02Targets individual people.
- 16:05And so I can see how
- 16:06individual people would feel.
- 16:09you know,
- 16:10like that's a big response to them.
- 16:12But I was more so thinking
- 16:14of the athletes and them
- 16:15being targeted and called
- 16:17out for reps and things.
- 16:18I wasn't necessarily looking
- 16:20at it from the whole
- 16:22corporate aspect of it.
- 16:23Yeah,
- 16:27I think this was specifically about
- 16:29the HQ staff that are being attacked.
- 16:34So,
- 16:36Paul Kane is saying Hiller didn't cross
- 16:38a line.
- 16:39Trying to see what else.
- 16:44What I would say is I do
- 16:45think Hiller crosses a line at times,
- 16:47but I think he's okay doing that.
- 16:49I think that if you want to be...
- 16:54biggest name in the sport of
- 16:57crossfit and your ut
- 16:59youtube channel to be the
- 17:00biggest you can't sit on
- 17:01the fence you can't
- 17:03straddle the line and I
- 17:04think that he does go over
- 17:06the line on purpose at
- 17:08times for effect and now
- 17:15it's an official podcast
- 17:16official I'm doing a lot lately um
- 17:23I do think on the other side,
- 17:26I do think HQ has messed up
- 17:28some things and we'll get
- 17:30into that in a second,
- 17:32especially with the media side.
- 17:34Um,
- 17:36But I think that Hiller's
- 17:37playing that line.
- 17:38What I don't like is that
- 17:40instead of reaching out to
- 17:41Hiller and having a conversation with him,
- 17:45everybody's just kind of
- 17:48the play by CrossFit HQ is
- 17:51to let's not give him access to anything.
- 17:53Let's not give him a media credential.
- 17:57Let's not let him inside the ropes.
- 18:01But none of that is going to stop him,
- 18:03and nobody has reached out to him to say,
- 18:07one,
- 18:08how do you have this big YouTube channel,
- 18:09and how can you help us grow ours?
- 18:13What can we do to work
- 18:14together as opposed to
- 18:16working against each other?
- 18:17Nothing.
- 18:23Nothing?
- 18:26I was just,
- 18:27I think we should read some of
- 18:28these comments because I
- 18:29think it's important to
- 18:30expose different people's
- 18:31ideas on here as well.
- 18:35Okay, so Anderson said,
- 18:37I think Hiller was making a
- 18:38lot of inferences on how HQ
- 18:40is doing things based on
- 18:41what was said in that video.
- 18:45Lynn says that Hiller
- 18:47targeted people like Brian Friend.
- 18:48That's when I stopped watching.
- 18:50That to me was crossing a
- 18:51line and I can see where
- 18:52Don is coming from.
- 18:53Mm-hmm.
- 18:55Uh, Molo,
- 18:57please says the problem with
- 18:58Hiller is that he will
- 19:00speak with assumptions
- 19:01about individuals and that
- 19:02understandably upsets HQ.
- 19:04I don't blame,
- 19:05blame Dave and Don's responses.
- 19:10Uh, Molo says at the end of the day,
- 19:12though, why would Hiller change anything?
- 19:14He's blowing up in views and followers.
- 19:17Even if everything he says
- 19:18is false or inflated, he's only growing.
- 19:21Yeah.
- 19:23And let's finish up with Kenneth.
- 19:25Outside looking in,
- 19:25I would say 75% of what you, Dave,
- 19:28get given in terms of
- 19:29Hiller content and get mad
- 19:31about is taken out of context.
- 19:38I mean,
- 19:39here's one interesting one I want
- 19:40to bring up too.
- 19:43Yeah.
- 19:46Jade.
- 19:47But Jada Coons has like,
- 19:49and Peter said this in the interview,
- 19:51he's risen from the ashes.
- 19:53He has come back and said
- 19:55that he did make that statement,
- 19:57but he's changed his mind.
- 19:58He's done all these things.
- 20:00He was thrown to the fire,
- 20:01but came out of it on the other end.
- 20:05And I don't even think
- 20:07Hiller has said anything
- 20:08bad about the Coons in the
- 20:10last six months.
- 20:13So I think like he has come
- 20:15out of it on the other side.
- 20:18We'll have to wait and see
- 20:19about some of the other
- 20:20things that have happened.
- 20:26Yeah.
- 20:28I'll see you in a few minutes.
- 20:33Amy had something really
- 20:34important to say too.
- 20:36Now we're going to miss it.
- 20:40Yeah.
- 20:40I don't know.
- 20:40I mean,
- 20:41this space is a very weird space
- 20:46for all of us.
- 20:48And it always has been, you know,
- 20:50for people to be suspect of
- 20:53the way things are run.
- 20:54And I mean,
- 20:55I've always had like a little
- 20:56bit of conspiracy theory in
- 20:58the back of my pocket with
- 20:59like the games and the
- 21:01different events and, you know,
- 21:04thinking that they're
- 21:05trying to get certain
- 21:06people to win and they play favorites.
- 21:08And I mean,
- 21:10all this other stuff doesn't
- 21:11really surprise me.
- 21:12It just...
- 21:14I feel like if you dug into
- 21:15any other sport,
- 21:16if any other sport was as
- 21:17small as this was and had
- 21:19such a cult following,
- 21:20I think they'd be in the
- 21:21same position where you'd
- 21:23have people being able to
- 21:24poke holes at every corner
- 21:26because there are probably
- 21:27holes at every corner.
- 21:28I mean,
- 21:30it's a mishmash of people coming together,
- 21:33trying to run this organization.
- 21:34Let's face it.
- 21:37Everything's going to have
- 21:38people like Hiller that
- 21:41say different things the
- 21:43opposite things I mean
- 21:45nobody apparently likes
- 21:46roger goodell but and he's
- 21:48got bigger people and
- 21:50bigger platforms talking
- 21:52about different things but
- 21:54they still run their
- 21:58business if you will and
- 22:01they make changes that need
- 22:02to be changes and move on I mean
- 22:05And I think Hiller's brought
- 22:07to light a lot of the
- 22:08things that need to change.
- 22:10And I think they've acted on
- 22:11a handful of them.
- 22:17You know, it's a lot of,
- 22:18it's the stuff that we've kind of,
- 22:19we're always thinking about,
- 22:20but we're afraid to talk about.
- 22:23I mean, I know as an affiliate owner,
- 22:24I was afraid to talk about some things.
- 22:26I thought they would yank my affiliate.
- 22:27I was as an L three coach.
- 22:29I thought I was afraid to
- 22:30say things because I
- 22:31thought they would yank my
- 22:32credentials and they still could.
- 22:33And you know, if,
- 22:36If I was inflammatory enough
- 22:37or ban me from the games or not, let me,
- 22:39you know,
- 22:40the whole thing about when I was
- 22:41a judge at one of those,
- 22:42like granted games and I
- 22:43totally messed up and I was
- 22:44afraid to tell anybody
- 22:45because I thought they
- 22:46would just like escort me out.
- 22:49You know, uh,
- 22:51Kenneth says CrossFit fans
- 22:53are like wrestling fans,
- 22:54extremely passionate and
- 22:55extremely biased.
- 22:57Oh, opinions that likely won't change.
- 23:04I, I think,
- 23:07I don't agree with everything Hiller does,
- 23:08right?
- 23:09I don't think anybody would.
- 23:11But I think there's a spot for him,
- 23:12and I've always defended
- 23:14that he has the right to
- 23:15say whatever he wants to say.
- 23:16I think that CrossFit is
- 23:19making the mistake of feeding into it.
- 23:22By coming at him directly,
- 23:24all they're doing is feeding him.
- 23:25But they're also I feel like
- 23:27they're not getting past
- 23:28the clicks and the baits
- 23:29because they have even said
- 23:31that they haven't watched his content,
- 23:33which I understand.
- 23:35He has a ton of content.
- 23:36How could they possibly watch it all?
- 23:39But I think it's they need
- 23:40to be careful about making
- 23:41statements as well if
- 23:43they're not consuming the content.
- 23:47Right.
- 23:48Like there's been ones like
- 23:49where you click on,
- 23:50it's like the five worst
- 23:51things about CrossFit when
- 23:52really it was a good thing
- 23:53about CrossFit.
- 23:54Right.
- 23:55But,
- 23:55but you would see that title and be like,
- 23:57well, screw that guy.
- 23:58If he's not going to support us,
- 23:59I'm not going to look at it.
- 24:03Corey says, Kat,
- 24:04they took Suze's affiliate
- 24:05off the affiliate map
- 24:06because they don't agree
- 24:07with some of his views.
- 24:09Yeah.
- 24:09I heard something that like
- 24:10his affiliate was not in
- 24:11good standing anymore
- 24:12because he didn't have,
- 24:13he hadn't renewed his
- 24:15credentials or something like that.
- 24:17but he had, Oh, okay.
- 24:20Then.
- 24:21Yeah.
- 24:22That's not cool.
- 24:23Yeah.
- 24:23Yeah.
- 24:24I mean, so that proves my point.
- 24:27Uh, when the new affiliate stuff came out,
- 24:28you had a year to get an L
- 24:30two and he had signed up
- 24:32for it in January.
- 24:34Oh, wow.
- 24:34Okay.
- 24:35So, uh, so anyway, I just, um,
- 24:41the other part I wanted to
- 24:41talk about is that, um,
- 24:45Peter hit him with the fact
- 24:48that the YouTube channel
- 24:49has not had a new post in like 40 days.
- 24:53And Don went on about the
- 24:55expense of all that and how, you know,
- 24:58they're focusing in other directions.
- 25:01And I just want to use this
- 25:02as an opportunity to say,
- 25:03we have been hammering home
- 25:05that there are all the, and not just us,
- 25:08tons of third-party media
- 25:09out there with great content.
- 25:12Sharon.
- 25:13Oh, sorry.
- 25:17I've got lots of screens around here.
- 25:18He's trying to get us more viewers.
- 25:22This just changed to an OnlyFans account.
- 25:25This is my real job office, guys.
- 25:27I've got other things happening here.
- 25:29I'm sorry.
- 25:29No, it's okay.
- 25:31It's a better way to do that, maybe.
- 25:33I don't know.
- 25:36So there are a lot of
- 25:38third-party media with
- 25:39great content out there
- 25:41that all they would have to
- 25:42do is share it to their YouTube channel.
- 25:44That takes no expense.
- 25:47None.
- 25:48Zip.
- 25:49Zero.
- 25:49I mean,
- 25:50Don said that he thought that
- 25:52YouTube is the space where
- 25:53they thought they had room for growth.
- 25:57Right.
- 25:57But I would actually argue
- 25:59that they have put out very
- 26:00little on the other social
- 26:03media aspects as well.
- 26:07I've seen a lot of TikTok
- 26:08content out of Mike Koslap.
- 26:11He works for CrossFit, right?
- 26:12No.
- 26:13But he was on the floor during semifinals.
- 26:16He had that extra special credentials,
- 26:18and he's put out a million.
- 26:21I mean,
- 26:21it's not anything that's not
- 26:24informational.
- 26:24It's more like exercise porn,
- 26:27but whatever.
- 26:28Yeah.
- 26:30I think they got more things
- 26:31to fix than YouTube.
- 26:34Oh.
- 26:35there's there's uh frank
- 26:37wants to get involved frank
- 26:38frank and murph want to
- 26:39have a little convo uh
- 26:43larry young says that has
- 26:45to be the thumbnail for the
- 26:46video cats oh what my me my
- 26:49crotch awesome and again
- 26:54saying that they can't
- 26:56because it costs too much is ridiculous
- 26:59Andrew Hiller made a video a day.
- 27:00And I think Peter actually said that like,
- 27:02here's a guy in his garage
- 27:03making content for,
- 27:06for basically nothing.
- 27:08Once you have the equipment
- 27:10and you guys aren't putting
- 27:11out anything and then to
- 27:12blame it on the cost of that is,
- 27:15is utterly ridiculous.
- 27:17Yeah.
- 27:18I mean, CrossFit needs to hire Andrew.
- 27:20Isn't that the whole point?
- 27:23I think that's Andrew Hiller.
- 27:25I think that is the, at least talk.
- 27:28That's the end game.
- 27:29Hire him.
- 27:30Hire him.
- 27:32He would be so good for them.
- 27:35But see,
- 27:35then he wouldn't do all this stuff.
- 27:38Exactly.
- 27:38They're all, you turn,
- 27:41and then he'd... And he'd
- 27:43go crying into a bag of money and,
- 27:46you know, say he was right.
- 27:47He'd be like,
- 27:49I'm not the problem with CrossFit.
- 27:50I'm the one with you guys.
- 27:51Then it'll be, you guys are the problem.
- 27:55I bet he makes way more
- 27:57money what he's doing than
- 27:59he could possibly.
- 28:00I don't know, man.
- 28:02It takes a lot to make some
- 28:03money on YouTube.
- 28:05I know he's making way more than we are.
- 28:09And YouTube takes a huge cut.
- 28:13But what I would say, Charlie,
- 28:15is if they hired him,
- 28:17wouldn't he just become the Loki?
- 28:19And could you really, really trust him?
- 28:23yes because I think it's all
- 28:26a work I mean he'd get he'd
- 28:30get eyeballs on the sport
- 28:34tenfold of what crossfit's
- 28:36able to do on their own I
- 28:38mean wouldn't he see I
- 28:40don't think they understand
- 28:40the value of that wasn't he
- 28:43really on mayhem for a long
- 28:44time and then he got invited
- 28:51Was that a kid or your wife?
- 28:53That was a kid.
- 28:54Okay.
- 28:59Oh.
- 29:01Oh, well.
- 29:02Yeah.
- 29:02I don't even know where we
- 29:03were after that.
- 29:04Episode one.
- 29:05That's what it is.
- 29:07That's the difference from
- 29:08Greg Glassman CrossFit Today's CrossFit.
- 29:11Greg tried to grow the whole
- 29:12pie for everyone,
- 29:13and now everyone's piece got bigger.
- 29:16Now they just want to cut
- 29:17out a bigger piece.
- 29:21So.
- 29:23Told you, Greg needs to buy it again.
- 29:26He would never do it.
- 29:29He just doesn't need the headache anymore.
- 29:32So then let's move to Dave's
- 29:34Week in Review where he had
- 29:35kind of the same things to say.
- 29:38And on Sunday,
- 29:40he released his first in an
- 29:42athlete series with Brooke
- 29:44Wells where he's doing five
- 29:47to ten minute interviews
- 29:48where on Sunday he said
- 29:50with all 80 games athletes.
- 29:58On Monday, he backed that down to say,
- 30:00I'm going to try to do as
- 30:01many as possible.
- 30:03Yeah,
- 30:03because he realized what the amount
- 30:05of work is going to be.
- 30:06Yeah.
- 30:07I mean, just scheduling 80 of them alone,
- 30:09he'd need an assistant to do that.
- 30:12The booking of guests is the
- 30:14hardest part of doing what we do. 100%.
- 30:17Schedules are stupid with these athletes.
- 30:21And I would imagine he's
- 30:22pretty busy getting ready for the games.
- 30:24Like I'm sure he doesn't
- 30:25have a whole lot of free time.
- 30:27So I have two questions about this series.
- 30:30Is it a conflict of interest?
- 30:40It could be interpreted as such,
- 30:42especially if he doesn't get all 80.
- 30:43Right.
- 30:44Right.
- 30:47Playing favorites.
- 30:49I mean, Brooke was his first one.
- 30:52That's a huge tell.
- 30:57He loves her.
- 30:59On a side note,
- 31:00is he infatuated with Brooke?
- 31:02100%.
- 31:04Because he mentioned Brooke
- 31:05at least three times in the
- 31:06Justin Medeiros interview.
- 31:08Oh, he loves her.
- 31:08Yeah.
- 31:12So...
- 31:14I think it's a conflict of
- 31:15interest because he has said repeatedly,
- 31:17they don't have a finalized
- 31:20test until they get to the games.
- 31:23They're changing stuff the
- 31:24week of the games.
- 31:26And when you're asking questions like,
- 31:28what do you want to see?
- 31:29What don't you want to see?
- 31:31Those are questions that can
- 31:33influence a programmer.
- 31:38Yeah.
- 31:39Didn't really think about it, but yeah,
- 31:41could be.
- 31:41Well, I don't know about Dave though.
- 31:43He's pretty,
- 31:44you're not gonna tell him what to do.
- 31:49No, but you can naturally- No,
- 31:51but is he using it as a way
- 31:52to either avoid movements
- 31:55or include movements based
- 31:56on his personal preferences?
- 31:57There's a bias there that
- 31:58you kind of can't avoid and
- 32:01it's unconscious.
- 32:04And Fraser even said that about Dave.
- 32:10Yeah.
- 32:10Are you trying to put stuff
- 32:11he wasn't good at in?
- 32:13Mm-hmm.
- 32:14I mean,
- 32:15he knows enough about some of the
- 32:16bigger athletes,
- 32:16but some of the other ones
- 32:17maybe he doesn't.
- 32:18I guess, yeah, why did this all happen?
- 32:22Why does Dave think he needs
- 32:23to be the one to interview
- 32:24all the athletes?
- 32:27Just because he wants to?
- 32:28They don't have money to pay
- 32:29anybody else to do it.
- 32:32So he said in his weekend
- 32:33review that the reason he's
- 32:35doing it is he felt
- 32:37disconnected from the athletes.
- 32:38He realized that as he's
- 32:40been on these different
- 32:41shows that he doesn't even
- 32:42know who the athletes are anymore.
- 32:46And these quick five to 10
- 32:48minute interviews at least
- 32:49gives them an idea of the
- 32:51athletes that are out there.
- 32:56Well, if he's, if he's going to do that,
- 32:59I think it should be a,
- 33:01a predetermined set of
- 33:04questions and it should be
- 33:06the same for everybody.
- 33:08Almost like a, like an athlete, like a,
- 33:16Like a screening.
- 33:18Like an athlete screening, right?
- 33:22I'm kind of with Aaron.
- 33:24I think he's trying to grow his channel.
- 33:30I mean,
- 33:30more people are going to watch that
- 33:31shit than his weekend reviews.
- 33:33So that brings up another thing.
- 33:35Why is all the news,
- 33:36why is all the games
- 33:38content on his channel as
- 33:40opposed to the CrossFit Games channel?
- 33:45Maybe it's a separate thing.
- 33:49Well, it is.
- 33:49I mean,
- 33:50the YouTube channel is his for sure.
- 33:52If he was ever going to give
- 33:54anybody money for helping
- 33:56him do post-production on his podcast,
- 33:58it was not going to come from CrossFit.
- 33:59It was going to come out of
- 34:00his pocket if he planned to
- 34:03give anyone any money for
- 34:05doing post-production on his podcast.
- 34:09Why would he do that?
- 34:12Just saying.
- 34:14Has he done anything to
- 34:16audio in the last...
- 34:19Five months, six months.
- 34:20He's, he's put clips out.
- 34:22Yeah.
- 34:22He's got someone to do clips for him,
- 34:25but not to the, not to Apple.
- 34:26And I don't think so.
- 34:29No, no, he's just doing stuff on it.
- 34:31He's cutting up his stuff
- 34:32and put it on Instagram.
- 34:34Yeah.
- 34:35But he's cut out the whole
- 34:36audio podcast versions of
- 34:38his weekend review.
- 34:39Oh, he has.
- 34:40Well,
- 34:40cause he doesn't have an avenue to do it.
- 34:42Cause he was using ours.
- 34:43Right.
- 34:44Yeah.
- 34:46right when he stopped
- 34:48publishing to his audio
- 34:50page like I can see that
- 34:52right right so when when we
- 34:57stopped publishing to his
- 34:58audio page correct right uh
- 35:05acr is saying he's not
- 35:06doing the clips himself
- 35:07question mark no way no so
- 35:10for a period of time at
- 35:11least I was doing his clips
- 35:13Um,
- 35:14from the time he started and I was also
- 35:15editing his week, his weeks in review,
- 35:17he had a few items that he
- 35:18had me edit out.
- 35:20He would send me the raw
- 35:21video on a Google drive
- 35:23that I created for him on
- 35:25my personal Google drive.
- 35:26And he would post them there
- 35:27and I would clip them for
- 35:28him and caption them and
- 35:31send them to him and then
- 35:32put them on Instagram.
- 35:34I asked for access to his
- 35:35Instagram account.
- 35:36He was not comfortable with
- 35:37that for whatever reason.
- 35:39And so he was posting them himself.
- 35:41Um,
- 35:43But I was doing the captions
- 35:44and I had to do the
- 35:45captions outside of Instagram.
- 35:46And you can do them in Instagram,
- 35:49which is cheaper and a
- 35:51little easier to do.
- 35:52But because I couldn't do it for him,
- 35:53he didn't do that.
- 35:54So when I did his
- 35:55post-production on those weeks in review,
- 35:57I did it and added the
- 35:59captions in the software that I use.
- 36:01I wouldn't be surprised if
- 36:04they're not doing it for him.
- 36:06Yeah, I don't know.
- 36:07I mean,
- 36:07I think we had a conversation and I
- 36:10think he said he found
- 36:11someone to do them.
- 36:12And it obviously wasn't me
- 36:13because he and I just
- 36:15stopped talking for a
- 36:16period of time and he wasn't doing any.
- 36:18And I reached back out to
- 36:19him and he said that he had someone.
- 36:23And then Kat would make the
- 36:24audio version and put it up onto Spotify.
- 36:30Yeah.
- 36:32And I know that he's on StreamYard now.
- 36:34Like he just mentioned in
- 36:35his last weekend review
- 36:35that he's on the StreamYard bandwagon.
- 36:39So maybe, maybe they're helping him.
- 36:41Yeah,
- 36:41I think he did that to start doing
- 36:43the athlete interviews.
- 36:47Lynn said, it's kind of the same questions,
- 36:49years in CrossFit,
- 36:49previous times in CrossFit games.
- 36:52How was semis?
- 36:53What do you want,
- 36:54not want to see at the games?
- 36:56And I don't think we have a
- 36:59sample size big enough to
- 37:01definitively say it's going
- 37:03to be a consistent.
- 37:03They're the same, right?
- 37:05We have two examples at this point.
- 37:08I'd like to see more
- 37:09examples to make sure.
- 37:11But even with that and the
- 37:13question of what do you want to see,
- 37:14not see at the games?
- 37:16I think that crosses the
- 37:17line over to conflict of interest.
- 37:20Well,
- 37:20and I would like to see him interview
- 37:22some people that he really
- 37:23doesn't know because he said this,
- 37:24he's doing this because he
- 37:25doesn't know a lot of the athletes.
- 37:26And so far he's interviewed
- 37:29athletes that he knows very, very well.
- 37:30Yeah.
- 37:35And even like he forgot
- 37:38Justin's first games was
- 37:392020 at the COVID games.
- 37:43in the interview last night
- 37:44so uh andrew stenn uh over
- 37:49under on the number of
- 37:50athletes he actually gets
- 37:52through between now and the
- 37:54end of july I say 25. uh
- 37:58molo says uh 21. I'm gonna say 18.
- 38:11Yeah, I don't think it's past 30.
- 38:14I think it's below 30.
- 38:15Well, I heard from some people, like,
- 38:20there are athletes that
- 38:21don't speak English, right?
- 38:24When you get over to Asia and Africa,
- 38:27you have a chance that they
- 38:28don't even... Listen, Corey,
- 38:31I'm saying 18 because I've done booking.
- 38:35Like, that sucks, right?
- 38:38Yeah.
- 38:39Like if you don't understand
- 38:40how hard it is to book guests,
- 38:42like that's why I'm saying 18,
- 38:45he's going to dive into this and realize.
- 38:47It's way harder than he thought.
- 38:49Right.
- 38:51Yeah.
- 38:52I remember that first year
- 38:53when you and I went through and I mean,
- 38:55it was spreadsheets and phone calls.
- 38:57And when we were trying to
- 38:58coordinate the two of us,
- 38:59both in the interview, it was like,
- 39:00forget it.
- 39:01If you can just get the
- 39:02person and you're free, just do it.
- 39:05Yeah.
- 39:05It gets to be just ridiculous.
- 39:07Yeah,
- 39:07the fact that you've done it on your
- 39:09own for the last two years
- 39:10is super impressive, Scott.
- 39:12I don't know how you do it.
- 39:13Because it's not starting
- 39:15the conversation.
- 39:15It's getting your two
- 39:18calendars to match on a day
- 39:21where you have enough.
- 39:23Now,
- 39:23five to 10 minutes might be a lot
- 39:25easier than I'm trying to do 60 minutes,
- 39:27right?
- 39:27But still.
- 39:29Yeah, and we're over that barrier of like,
- 39:31hey, this is who we are.
- 39:32These are the people we've talked to.
- 39:33Like, we're legit.
- 39:34Can you please talk to us now?
- 39:35It's just, oh, I know who you are.
- 39:37Let's find some time.
- 39:38That's true.
- 39:45These type of questions
- 39:46aren't getting to know them that much.
- 39:48It's more so just info for
- 39:49the games and curiosity on
- 39:51what they want to see there or not there.
- 40:00But he's Dave Castro, though.
- 40:02Athletes will drop stuff for Castro.
- 40:07I think people will flex
- 40:10their schedules to meet with him,
- 40:11but he still has to make
- 40:12contact with them to ask.
- 40:16And then he, in fact,
- 40:17has to have time for it as well.
- 40:22Andrew says,
- 40:23trying to coordinate while
- 40:24they're on full games prep is crazy.
- 40:26That pretty much just shut down.
- 40:29And I switch over to coaches
- 40:31because to get an athlete a month out,
- 40:35Almost impossible.
- 40:40Yeah.
- 40:43Yeah.
- 40:44And I think there are people
- 40:45that don't want to talk to Dave.
- 40:49Now, is there a fear factor if you don't?
- 40:54He may have that behind him.
- 40:55I don't know.
- 41:02I mean, as you mentioned before,
- 41:05you know,
- 41:06like every time I say something
- 41:08about Dave or Dawn or CrossFit HQ,
- 41:10there's a piece in the back
- 41:12of my head going, well,
- 41:13that could be the end of my
- 41:14media credential.
- 41:15Yeah.
- 41:15Same.
- 41:18And you know,
- 41:18the athletes have to feel similar.
- 41:20Right.
- 41:25With the way penalties are handed out.
- 41:29It's always possible.
- 41:31Yeah.
- 41:33Always possible.
- 41:33Yeah.
- 41:36Kenneth says, should ask them,
- 41:37do you train an affiliate?
- 41:38Do you have an L1?
- 41:40Excellent question.
- 41:41Yeah,
- 41:42I think that would be a good way to
- 41:44then use that platform to
- 41:46promote the affiliates,
- 41:48promote getting the credentials.
- 41:50Right.
- 41:53That's actually an excellent idea,
- 41:54Kenneth.
- 41:56And encouraging athletes to do that too.
- 41:57I mean,
- 41:58maybe when we highlight athletes at
- 41:59the games, there should be something
- 42:01you know, on their Jersey or, you know,
- 42:03like remember how with,
- 42:05didn't they used to have
- 42:06their affiliate name on their Jersey?
- 42:09I thought that was, yeah.
- 42:10I feel like that was part of
- 42:11their uniform way back when.
- 42:12And like, that's kind of fallen off.
- 42:15And if they, and if they were coaches,
- 42:17like that would be cool to
- 42:18have like their, you know,
- 42:19if they're an L2 or an L3,
- 42:21put it on their sleeve of their uniform.
- 42:24Do you remember when,
- 42:25if you were a past champion,
- 42:26you got like the little
- 42:27gold medal on your Jersey?
- 42:28Yeah.
- 42:31Well,
- 42:31and then that meant he ran out of space.
- 42:35Yeah, there's so many.
- 42:36There's too many.
- 42:36He couldn't do it.
- 42:39Well,
- 42:39it's just like when you're counting up.
- 42:41When you get five,
- 42:42you get the real big medal.
- 42:44Oh, there you go.
- 42:45It's like the upgrade to poker chips.
- 42:49They used to do that all the time,
- 42:50put affiliate names on.
- 42:51Because I can remember
- 42:52seeing photographs of
- 42:54different athletes with
- 42:55their CrossFit Krypton
- 42:57underneath the name and whatever else.
- 42:59You really want to promote affiliates.
- 43:02When Reebok was doing the jerseys,
- 43:04Christie's behind me has
- 43:05CrossFit Polaris underneath her name.
- 43:08Yeah.
- 43:11The problem is half the
- 43:12people wouldn't have
- 43:13affiliates next to them
- 43:14because a lot of the
- 43:14athletes don't train at affiliates.
- 43:17I think that's where the problem came in.
- 43:19And then there was this big push to,
- 43:21can we put our training camp?
- 43:23Right.
- 43:23Yeah.
- 43:24Right.
- 43:25Yeah.
- 43:26And I think that's that position of, like,
- 43:29are we still CrossFit, the methodology,
- 43:33or are we now just sport?
- 43:34Yeah.
- 43:40Carolyn, how they got started,
- 43:42where they train, L1, more.
- 43:44That's more relevant, I think,
- 43:46than route would be great.
- 43:49Stay away from the personal games, events,
- 43:50and strengths and weaknesses.
- 43:52Yeah, I think that's fair, for sure.
- 43:56I want to throw a teaser out
- 43:57there for next week.
- 43:58Can we talk about my
- 44:00extracurricular substances supplements?
- 44:03I want to talk about it.
- 44:05Okay.
- 44:06Yeah.
- 44:06Okay.
- 44:06Thanks.
- 44:06Bye.
- 44:08Bye.
- 44:10That's definitely very nefarious leaving.
- 44:15And Charlie got kicked off somehow.
- 44:16He was trying to get back in, but I'm,
- 44:20Either his dog or a kid is
- 44:21chewed through a line, I'm guessing.
- 44:22Or, I mean, it could be the storm.
- 44:24Could be.
- 44:25We got a storm going on.
- 44:26That's why Merck was going crazy.
- 44:29And I do think Carolyn's correct,
- 44:31but I think that's where
- 44:32the third-party media has
- 44:33been doing that for a long time.
- 44:36And why not just share some
- 44:39of that information?
- 44:42Yeah.
- 44:43I need to know,
- 44:44because Andrew's on here real quick.
- 44:46Andrew,
- 44:46I need to know if you're going to
- 44:47be at the games this year.
- 44:50I'm not going and I need to
- 44:51know if you're going.
- 44:51I have a favor.
- 44:54Okay.
- 44:54Now you go ahead, Scott.
- 44:56I'm going to the games.
- 44:57Oh, you are.
- 44:57Okay.
- 44:57I didn't know if you had
- 44:58decided that or not.
- 44:59Yeah.
- 44:59I bought tickets Sunday night.
- 45:01Okay.
- 45:03Uh,
- 45:03because I was going to go to Metcon rush.
- 45:06Yeah.
- 45:06Uh, with thick boy,
- 45:08but Julie scheduled a
- 45:09vacation that weekend.
- 45:11So it was Metcon rush or divorce.
- 45:13I chose Metcon.
- 45:14I chose not divorce.
- 45:17Um, and.
- 45:20And so plane tickets from
- 45:23Columbus to Fort Worth are
- 45:26as cheap as 90 bucks round trip.
- 45:29And when I saw that, I was like,
- 45:31I can almost not afford,
- 45:33like that makes it affordable.
- 45:35Yeah.
- 45:38I'm trying to kick Kat out, but I can't.
- 45:41I don't know what it's done to me.
- 45:47So if you need anything there.
- 45:50Yeah.
- 45:50You know what I want?
- 45:52I don't remember,
- 45:52but you can tell me after my level three.
- 45:55Um, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:56Yeah.
- 45:58Um, there was one other thing.
- 46:01So Hiller,
- 46:02speaking of Hiller for most of this,
- 46:05he did a post and then
- 46:07we'll do this and get out of here.
- 46:09Did you see Hiller's post
- 46:09about Northern spirit,
- 46:10not getting semifinal
- 46:11uniforms kit for Jessica
- 46:14Kelly collegiate collegian.
- 46:17Uh,
- 46:19If you didn't see this,
- 46:20what happened was she got to the venue.
- 46:23They said they never got her
- 46:24survey on her uniform or it
- 46:27fell through the cracks or
- 46:29something like that.
- 46:30They said that they would
- 46:32make it right by having
- 46:34some maid and get her one
- 46:37of all the stuff with her name on it.
- 46:40When she put it in the athlete survey,
- 46:43she was told that they no
- 46:44longer could do that and
- 46:46she wasn't going to get
- 46:47anything with her name on it.
- 46:49And that they're sorry about that.
- 46:58I think that's pretty shitty.
- 47:01Yeah.
- 47:03I know that they're making
- 47:05stuff for the Masters games
- 47:07and the team games.
- 47:09How can they not just put
- 47:10another set of stuff in and
- 47:14print a couple shirts,
- 47:16a couple sports bras, a couple whatever?
- 47:23It's, it's ridiculous.
- 47:25Yeah.
- 47:26It's pretty shady.
- 47:27I mean,
- 47:27she definitely deserves her stuff
- 47:28and I mean, yes, she deserves her stuff.
- 47:34And we talked about Sunday
- 47:35night how the Masters are
- 47:37only getting three uniforms for 12 events,
- 47:41usually three in a day,
- 47:42and they're probably going
- 47:43to have to go to the
- 47:43laundromat every single night,
- 47:46which is ridiculous for a
- 47:47CrossFit Games athlete.
- 47:50There's going to be a reel
- 47:51coming out later today on that,
- 47:55clipping that up from us as
- 47:57Jamie is one of those athletes,
- 47:59and she had a lot to say.
- 48:01I'm sure.
- 48:01Was that one of her riffs?
- 48:03That is one of her riffs.
- 48:07And Dex is real happy about it as well.
- 48:09He said Dex is super happy
- 48:12that we're going back to
- 48:13Reebok neon colors again,
- 48:15the worst era of CrossFit Games uniforms,
- 48:19which I completely disagree with.
- 48:21I like them.
- 48:22It was the one era where I
- 48:23could tell who the athletes were.
- 48:25Yeah, I loved it.
- 48:26I loved the orange shoe era.
- 48:28That was 15?
- 48:28Yeah.
- 48:30Yeah, like 13 through 17.
- 48:32Yeah.
- 48:37And they gave them so many
- 48:38different varieties that
- 48:39they could mismatch,
- 48:41and then you could tell who
- 48:42was who once you... It was great.
- 48:49One last teaser,
- 48:49and then we'll get out of here.
- 48:50Next week,
- 48:51let's talk about how this
- 48:52Olympic coverage is showing
- 48:54how CrossFit should do
- 48:57their streams better and how...
- 49:01And the reason I say that last night,
- 49:03an Olympic medalist,
- 49:04a gold medalist tripped in the 800.
- 49:06They didn't stay on her and
- 49:09the trip in the fall,
- 49:10even though it was the story of the race.
- 49:13They finished the race.
- 49:14Yeah.
- 49:15Then went to that.
- 49:18And it's been in swimming,
- 49:20it's been in track and field,
- 49:21it's been in a lot of stuff
- 49:22that I just want to talk
- 49:23about next week about how
- 49:25CrossFit can do better by
- 49:28looking at other events
- 49:29like Olympic sports and how
- 49:31they cover a race.
- 49:32Yes, I think that's very valid.
- 49:36So with that,
- 49:38thank you everybody for being here.
- 49:42Kenneth says,
- 49:43Dex is still just stuck in
- 49:44the Old Testament mindset
- 49:45of earth tones only.
- 49:47There you go.
- 49:49With that,
- 49:49we're going to head out of here.
- 49:51Thank you so much.
- 49:52Thank you, Thick Boy.
- 49:53Still love the stuff.
- 49:57And we'll see everybody next
- 49:58time on the Clydesdale Media Roundtable.
- 50:01Bye, guys.
