- 0:05It happened a few years ago. I never thought this would mark me for
- 0:09life, but it' s something I' ve been living with and it
- 0:13hasn' t let me rest. I' m raul. I am currently
- 0:17thirty years old and what happened to me and friends five years ago will never
- 0:21be forgotten. We came along the San Juan de los Lagos road to Guadalajara.
- 0:29It was a bit late. While I was driving in the back seat,
- 0:34my three friends were coming. Two of them were already asleep, while
- 0:39the only one awake was still crying. We were coming from his mother'
- 0:44s funeral. The four of us studied in Guadalajara and when we learned that
- 0:49Jessica' s mother had passed away, we made our way to San Juan
- 0:53de los Lagos. We stayed a few days to keep him company and when
- 0:59we decided to return, r Jessica decided to come back with us. I
- 1:03had no words to comfort her. I just listened to her sob from time
- 1:07to time and I saw her through the rearview mirror and asked her if she
- 1:12needed paper or water. She told me no, for all the sun had
- 1:17already set and the headlights of my car were barely enough to light the outside.
- 1:22When suddenly I could notice a strange presence on the side of the road.
- 1:27It was about what seemed to be a woman with a nightgown, her
- 1:32black and tangled hair covered her face and seemed barefoot. I asked Jessica if
- 1:38she had seen her, too, and she said yes. Everything indicated that
- 1:44it was not the product of my imagination. On that one of my tires
- 1:48was stuck and I momentarily lost control of the vehicle, which I was forced
- 1:53to park on one side. The sudden movement had caused my other two to
- 1:59wake up. For a second, I thought we' d turn around.
- 2:05I looked back in the hope that another car would come, but apparently we
- 2:09were alone. I left the vehicle lights on so we wouldn' t go
- 2:16unnoticed in the dark and someone could see us. I asked the girls if
- 2:22they were okay and when I noticed that everything was in order, I had
- 2:27no choice but to get out of the vehicle to see the damage. The
- 2:30vehicle was intact. However, he could not say the same thing about the
- 2:36rim, which clearly had a hole on its side. I looked for a
- 2:40refill in the trunk and realized that I hadn' t bought a new tire
- 2:45in a while. I still had the punch from the last time the same
- 2:49thing happened to me in town. I was asking the girls to try to
- 2:53call a tow truck, but it was in vain. No one had a
- 2:57signal. We had no choice but to wait for someone to pass by and
- 3:01realize our predicament and help us. Or he' d wait for dawn and
- 3:07go get help. I got in the car and I pulled it even further
- 3:13to one side to prevent us from getting hit by a vehicle that passed by.
- 3:17The rin was dented. We' d definitely need a tow truck.
- 3:23I went down again to see again. If the tire behind me could hold
- 3:28a few miles, but just before I got to the trunk I started to
- 3:32hear noises out of the ordinary to those who were already listening to something was
- 3:38approaching where we were. I could tell I was dragging something else. I
- 3:44didn' t quite know where that noise came from. So, just in
- 3:49case it was little other than the crawling steps, I heard a regret who
- 3:55was approaching us was crying too. That' s when I got it.
- 4:00The woman we saw hundreds of meters behind us, she was getting closer.
- 4:05It was pretty scary for me. I hastened to get back into the car.
- 4:11My friends noticed my fear and asked me nervous if everything was okay or
- 4:16that I was scared. Then I told them about the woman Jessica and I
- 4:21saw meters back, I didn' t know how to explain it, but
- 4:28just remembering her filled me with fear and the words didn' t go right
- 4:30out of my mouth. From the rearview mirror I could see that the woman
- 4:34' s silhouette was already approaching. I asked my friends to secure the doors
- 4:40and try not to be frightened and, if possible, ignore it. The
- 4:46three of them were already sobbing in terror and just a few seconds after I
- 4:53asked for this, the white nightgown woman was already behind the car. Step
- 4:58by step, he turned us around. I watched her carefully as she walked
- 5:02on one side of the car. Like my friends, they didn' t
- 5:06take their eyes off her either. He stopped right next to me and couldn
- 5:12' t see his face, even though he was so close, he raised
- 5:16his right hand and with his skeletal fingers, touched the glass with his fingernails.
- 5:21I stood still at that scene, because I didn' t know how
- 5:26to respond to that woman. I thought then that maybe I could scare her
- 5:30with the horn, so I pressed him without letting go, and the woman
- 5:36went crazy, shook her head and threw herself to the ground. It seemed
- 5:39that loud noises bothered him. One of my friends suggested we escape, but
- 5:45I told her it wasn' t safer than giving us in the car.
- 5:49She kept insisting on running away and, because I was arguing with her,
- 5:54I didn' t realize. When the woman got up from the ground,
- 5:58I stopped pressing the claxson I looked around looking for her with my eyesight,
- 6:03but I didn' t find her. I asked my friends if they saw
- 6:05her, but they couldn' t find her either. It was only a
- 6:10couple of minutes and I finally relaxed. I assumed that I had finally frightened
- 6:15her and in that I could hear them scratching the door on my side and
- 6:19climbing up to where I was. I realized how his head emerged from my
- 6:25side and finally I could see his emaciated and horrible face. The woman had
- 6:30black eyes, her mouth swollen and open. He stuck his head to my
- 6:35window. Then it went slightly backwards and hit the head again, but a
- 6:40little harder. Again, he pulled back, but now he grabbed more strength
- 6:46and impacted his head. I was doing it harder and harder. I knew
- 6:50that at any moment I would break the glass quickly pressed the claxson, but
- 6:58now it seemed that it did not affect him, but everything else hit harder
- 7:01and harder. I felt that at any moment the glass would break and that
- 7:06woman would pull me until suddenly someone outside the jalob and had her tightly held.
- 7:14I realized it was a guy I couldn' t look at. Then
- 7:17someone else came to help him. The woman twisted like she burned what they
- 7:23were doing to her. I realized it was a straitjacket. The man approached
- 7:29the car and asked me to come down. The glass showed up with us.
- 7:34He was a nurse from a psychiatric care home for urgent cases who was
- 7:40near the road and the woman had escaped them. They had been looking for
- 7:46her for a while and that was when they heard the claxson the first time
- 7:51and fortunately, the second time I touched him they managed to locate where the
- 7:58sound came from and they gave her the subject. He offered to take us
- 7:59to the psychiatric care house so we could spend the night there and call a
- 8:03tow truck. I was still shaking. I know it' s not good
- 8:09to trust strangers, but I knew within myself that it was the best.
- 8:13My friends were a bunch of nerves and they kept shaking and crying. I
- 8:18accepted the invitation and we accompanied him to a van that had parked a few
- 8:22meters from where we were. He finished introducing himself to us, his name
- 8:28was David and his companion was Jesus. As he got into the truck,
- 8:35Jesus went to the back with the woman who was still screaming. While we
- 8:39got into the booth with David, he told us that barely that night had
- 8:45they brought that woman because of the crises she had and that she used to
- 8:50be very violent. It really scared the hell out of us. The house
- 8:54was not far away. In fact, we arrived in less than three minutes
- 8:58at the place. I could see it was an ordinary house, but inside
- 9:03I was conditioned to receive people. In a small living room at the reception
- 9:09was who appeared to be the doctor, who received us all. David explained
- 9:15the situation to him and very gladly invited us in. He suggested that we
- 9:20wait in the living room while he was tending to the woman and that he
- 9:24would soon help us. That way we stay on the count again. Only
- 9:28the four of us talked to each other. Jessica tried to call again,
- 9:33but she didn' t have a line. One of my friends told me
- 9:37things didn' t seem right. She knew perfectly well that there was no
- 9:43house like this around. I told them to make an effort and try to
- 9:50rest. I had a lot of nerve, broken apart. I don'
- 9:54t know how long we waited, but it was long enough. The doctor
- 9:56didn' t come out. My friends had slept on the couch and on
- 10:01the floor with the help of their jackets to make them some kind of pillow.
- 10:05I couldn' t sleep, so I had to go out for a
- 10:09moment to get some air. That' s when I realized where we were
- 10:13supposed to be. The atmosphere was different. Not a single bug was heard,
- 10:20just the air that blew between the trees. We were in the dark
- 10:26and the lights in the house were out. I turned around and realized that
- 10:30the house was really abandoned. There were no windows, there were no doors,
- 10:37there was even a rusty van right at the entrance. I approached her
- 10:41and this was just like the one we had moved a few hours ago.
- 10:46That' s when I knew something wasn' t right. I ran to
- 10:48the house and realized that the reception had changed completely. The place seemed entirely
- 10:54abandoned. Moisture could smell in all directions. I approached my friends, who
- 11:01were still sleeping and I had to wake them up abruptly, I asked them
- 11:07to try to stay calm. But as they realized where we were, no
- 11:11one believed what was happening to such an extent that they began to cry and
- 11:16scream in despair. I couldn' t find any explanation for all this.
- 11:22We had to get out of there as it might be, and in case
- 11:26it wasn' t enough, I could hear a very familiar noise. It
- 11:30sounded like someone was dragging their feet to where we were. I looked into
- 11:35the hallway and horrified, I realized it was about the woman from a while
- 11:39ago. I didn' t know if it was real or not anymore.
- 11:43I didn' t want to stay and find out, so I asked my
- 11:46friends to get up and leave as soon as possible, because I didn'
- 11:52t mean to stay a minute longer for the woman to reach us. As
- 11:56we left the house, we headed as fast as we could to the car.
- 12:01The cold was terrible. I began to tremble both in fear and in
- 12:05cold. Jessica told me that for a second she had managed to pick up
- 12:11some signal and this was okay. We were moving away from the house,
- 12:15so with more reason we headed towards the road. Finally, after several minutes
- 12:20of running, we arrived at the car. We climbed up and I lit
- 12:26it the truth. I didn' t care about the rin. What I
- 12:28wanted was for us to get out of there, so we moved on as
- 12:31we could. The car could barely advance with the rim knocked out, but
- 12:37we did not go so fast, but we were on our way a little
- 12:43more relieved. Between us we wondered what had happened, what that place was
- 12:48and why that had happened to us. Suddenly, right on the edge of
- 12:52the road, we saw her the white woman was there it was as if
- 12:58you' d been waiting for us, we weren' t going so fast
- 13:03that she couldn' t reach us. So I pushed more speed into the
- 13:07engine and we moved a little faster. I didn' t want the woman
- 13:11to have a chance to get over the car, but luckily, we passed
- 13:16her and when we saw her, her black eyes followed me and her scary,
- 13:20demonic face. More than I remembered, he followed me until I lost
- 13:24sight of her I could notice details that I did not before and I could
- 13:30see that she did not step on the ground rather floated and her body was
- 13:35skeletal, including her hands, which were longer than normal. I even think
- 13:39they ended up in huge claw- like nails. After a few minutes,
- 13:46fleeing at only 20 kilometers per hour, a cell phone was heard from Jessica,
- 13:50who finally had a signal. We called a tow truck to pick us
- 13:56up in a safer area. Fortunately, I didn' t do much for
- 13:58a connection where we were picked up. The morning arrived shortly after the four
- 14:07of us were exhausted. The tow boy asked me if we hadn' t
- 14:11seen anyone there. Surprised by his question, I told him what happened to
- 14:16us and he only laughed at us without offending me he told me that a
- 14:22long time ago there had been a terrible accident where the father, mother and
- 14:28the two little ones died. The only person who came out alive was the
- 14:31mother- in- law, who was rescued as soon as possible in one
- 14:37of the houses close to the entourage of the woman, as she was living
- 14:43in such a terrible situation, she went mad and for a long time went
- 14:48out to the place where the accident was to mourn her dead. But,
- 14:50unfortunately, years later someone ended up running her over, ending her life.
- 14:58I knew the roads of the high years used to be dangerous. I even
- 15:03had my reservations to drive from San Juan de los Lagos to Guadalajara, already
- 15:07so late, but we had no choice, even about the accident mentioned by
- 15:13the Tow truck boy. If I found out what I couldn' t explain
- 15:20was why this had happened to us. We may have had the bad luck
- 15:24of being touched, but other people who have been told about our experience have
- 15:30told us that Jessica was carrying the vibes from her mother' s funeral and
- 15:35we were some kind of negative energy receiver. Anyway, five years have passed
- 15:41since then and the truth is that I still have nightmares with the face of
- 15:46that dream woman who chases me and who with her nails runs through the side
- 15:52of my bed. For the time being, I know that my friends have
- 15:56already managed to overcome it and that in time they forgot it, but it
- 15:58has bored me, it has cost a lot of work
