- 0:00Speaker 1: It's time for us to go to God in prayer.
- 0:01Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie. As always, I invite you to
- 0:05Speaker 1: join me for prayer, and on this date of remembrance,
- 0:09Speaker 1: September eleventh, I want to pray surrounding those devastating events
- 0:14Speaker 1: where our nation was shaken to his core by the
- 0:17Speaker 1: terrorist attack on American soil. Gracious and merciful Father, on
- 0:22Speaker 1: this solemn day of remembrance, our heart's turned to you.
- 0:24Speaker 1: September eleventh is etched into the soul of our nation,
- 0:27Speaker 1: a day of loss, a day of sorrow, but also
- 0:30Speaker 1: a day when we learn how fragile life is and
- 0:32Speaker 1: how desperately we need you. Lord. As we reflect, we
- 0:36Speaker 1: lift up our country, our leaders, in every citizen into
- 0:40Speaker 1: your hands. Father. We remember the lives lost, the families
- 0:44Speaker 1: forever changing, their heroes who ran toward danger to save others.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We ask God that you continue to comfort those who grieve,
- 0:51Speaker 1: to heal those who steal, carry wounds both seen and unseen,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and to strengthen those God whose memories are heavy today.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Lord be their peace, be their refuge. Be there, Oh God,
- 1:03Speaker 1: we pray for our nation, the United States of America.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Lord be our peace. Be our refuge, be our hope. God,
- 1:11Speaker 1: We pray for our nation. In the days following that tragedy,
- 1:15Speaker 1: hearts turn toward you. Sanctru warries will feel, voices were
- 1:18Speaker 1: lifted in prayer, and people who had never bowed their
- 1:22Speaker 1: needs cried out for mercy. Lord, remind us once again
- 1:26Speaker 1: how much we need you, not just in times of crisis,
- 1:29Speaker 1: but every single day. Bring us back to a place
- 1:32Speaker 1: of humility, repentance, and surrender to your will. Father. We
- 1:35Speaker 1: pray for our leaders, those who guide our government, our military,
- 1:39Speaker 1: our communities. Grant them wisdom that comes only from you.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Guard their hearts from pride and selfish ambition. Let them
- 1:46Speaker 1: seek justice and love, mercy and walk humble it before you.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Surround them with wives, counsel, and stir their hearts to
- 1:52Speaker 1: make decisions that honor you and bless the people they serve. Lord.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Today we lift up our first responders, police officers, our firefighters,
- 2:02Speaker 1: our paramedics and EMTs, and all who run toward danger
- 2:05Speaker 1: when others run away. God, we thank you for their courage,
- 2:09Speaker 1: their sacrificing, their unwavering service. God, cover them with your
- 2:12Speaker 1: protection as they serve in moments of chaos and crisis.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Guard their hearts from trauma, guard their bodies from harm,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and their families from fear. Strengthen them in the face
- 2:22Speaker 1: of exhaustion, and remind them God that their labor is
- 2:26Speaker 1: not in vain. Bless them Who's peace, with resilience and
- 2:29Speaker 1: the assurance that they are seen, that they are valued,
- 2:32Speaker 1: and they are loved not only by us, but God,
- 2:35Speaker 1: by You. We also pray for the citizens of this nation. Lord,
- 2:40Speaker 1: unite us beyond division, beyond political lives, beyond differences of race, class,
- 2:45Speaker 1: or culture. Teach us to love one another, to carry
- 2:48Speaker 1: one another's burdens, and to stand together as one people
- 2:52Speaker 1: under God. Let the same compassion, the same courage that
- 2:56Speaker 1: rolls out of the ashes on that day, rise up
- 2:59Speaker 1: again God, not only in tragedy, but in every day
- 3:03Speaker 1: living in Lord, we ask for revival in this land.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Pour out your spirit upon our homes. Pour out your spirit,
- 3:10Speaker 1: God upon our schools, our workplaces. Pour out your spirit
- 3:14Speaker 1: in our churches. Let hears turn back to youth with
- 3:17Speaker 1: urgency and passion. Heal our land, O, God, and make
- 3:21Speaker 1: us a people who are not ashamed to declare that
- 3:23Speaker 1: our hope, our safety, and our future are found in
- 3:26Speaker 1: You alone. So today God, we remember with reference, but
- 3:29Speaker 1: we also look forward with hope, for you are still God,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you are still in control, And as long as you
- 3:35Speaker 1: are on the throne God, we will not give up.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We will not give him, and we will not lose heart.
- 3:40Speaker 1: We lift this prayer in the mighty and matchless name
- 3:43Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ.
