- 0:03Speaker 1: Bagging everybody. I'm Dan Horde and thanks for downloading the
- 0:06Speaker 1: Bengals Booth Podcast. The We did It Big, Yeah, we
- 0:10Speaker 1: did it. We did it big. Addition, as the Bengals
- 0:14Speaker 1: go with a big man with their first pick in
- 0:17Speaker 1: the twenty twenty four.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Draft, we're the eighteenth pick in the twenty twenty four
- 0:22Speaker 2: NFL drafts, the Cincinnati Bengals select Amrius Mimes Teco, Georgia.
- 0:31Speaker 1: That is one large bulldog making his way to Cincinnati.
- 0:35Speaker 3: And so you see the size up there, six seven,
- 0:38Speaker 3: three hundred and forty pounds.
- 0:39Speaker 4: He is massive.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Coming up. You'll hear from Zach Taylor and offensive coordinator
- 0:43Speaker 1: Dan Pitcher, and you'll also hear what Amrius Mims had
- 0:47Speaker 1: to say after being selected by Cincinnati. Then I'll discuss
- 0:52Speaker 1: the pick with Dave Lapham and look ahead to what
- 0:54Speaker 1: we think the Bengals are likely to do on Day two.

- 1:21Speaker 1: a quick reminder that you can have the latest edition
- 1:23Speaker 1: of this podcast delivered right to your phone, tablet, or
- 1:27Speaker 1: computer by subscribing wherever you get your podcasts. It's the
- 1:31Speaker 1: greatest thing since Bill Tobin, The father of Bengals Director
- 1:36Speaker 1: of player Personnel Duke Tobin, passed away last week at
- 1:40Speaker 1: the age of eighty three. Duke followed in his father's footsteps,
- 1:44Speaker 1: as Bill Tobin was one of the great scouts in
- 1:46Speaker 1: front office executives in NFL history, best known for the
- 1:50Speaker 1: role he played in building the nineteen eighty five Super
- 1:53Speaker 1: Bowl champion Chicago Bears, a team that featured six Hall
- 1:58Speaker 1: of famers, including Walter Say and Mike Singletary. Bill joined
- 2:03Speaker 1: Duke on the Bengals staff in two thousand and three
- 2:06Speaker 1: and has been a trusted voice in the organization ever since.
- 2:10Speaker 1: On a personal note, one of the many great things
- 2:13Speaker 1: about my job has been sitting in the team cafeteria
- 2:16Speaker 1: listening to Bill Tobin and Dave Lapham swap stories about
- 2:20Speaker 1: their lives in football, the Bengals and the NFL. More
- 2:24Speaker 1: in the loss of a great man in Bill Tobin.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Now let's get to Round one of the draft. With
- 2:31Speaker 1: six quarterbacks being selected in the top twelve picks, the
- 2:34Speaker 1: Bengals had an abundance of enticing choices. With the eighteenth
- 2:38Speaker 1: overall pick, the top cornerbacks were still on the board.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Defensive tackle Johnny Newton was still there, but the Bengals
- 2:45Speaker 1: selection likely came down to two offensive linemen, Troy f
- 2:50Speaker 1: Utanu of Washington and Amarus Mims of Georgia. They chose
- 2:55Speaker 1: the one with the highest ceiling. Mims. He's four inches
- 2:59Speaker 1: tall and about twenty pounds heavier than Fatanu, who many
- 3:04Speaker 1: draft gurus project as a guard in the NFL. Mims
- 3:08Speaker 1: is also two years younger. The knock on a Marius
- 3:12Speaker 1: is his lack of experience. He had nankel injury this
- 3:16Speaker 1: year and only started eight games in three seasons with
- 3:19Speaker 1: the Bulldogs. Here's offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher.
- 3:24Speaker 5: I think we're all of the opinion that the only
- 3:26Speaker 5: reason he's here for us to pick at eighteen is
- 3:28Speaker 5: probably because of the fact that he only has eight
- 3:30Speaker 5: starts and had he gotten through a played this whole
- 3:33Speaker 5: season the way he played in the tape that we saw,
- 3:37Speaker 5: there's a very low chance that we're even having an
- 3:39Speaker 5: opportunity to pick him.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Mims is a perfect fit on the Bengals offensive line
- 3:45Speaker 1: literally and figuratively. He's nearly six ' eight and weighs
- 3:49Speaker 1: three hundred and forty pounds, meaning he's roughly the same
- 3:52Speaker 1: size as the tackle tandem of Orlando Brown and Trent Brown.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Here's Zach Taylor.
- 4:00Speaker 6: You know, it's those guys that have similar measurables and
- 4:04Speaker 6: have gone through a lot of seasons, one Super Bowls
- 4:07Speaker 6: to both of them. So I do it's coincidence at
- 4:11Speaker 6: what We didn't set out to do this, but the
- 4:14Speaker 6: way it's pointed out is makes us look brilliant.
- 4:18Speaker 1: But Mims is remarkably athletic for his size and didn't
- 4:21Speaker 1: allow his single sack at Georgia. Here's Pitcher.
- 4:26Speaker 5: He's three forty, but he doesn't look like he's three forty.
- 4:28Speaker 5: So he moves a lot better than what you'd expect
- 4:31Speaker 5: a player that weight to move, and so he stays
- 4:33Speaker 5: in really good position. He's seemingly unaffected by speed and
- 4:37Speaker 5: bowl and he just he plays under control, he's comfortable.
- 4:41Speaker 5: It's all the things that you want to see out
- 4:43Speaker 5: of a guy that size to project to being a
- 4:45Speaker 5: high end pass protector in the NFL.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Since Trent Brown signed a one year contract to start
- 4:51Speaker 1: a right tackle, there's no pressure on Mims to start
- 4:54Speaker 1: right away. He told Cincinnati reporters that he's looking forward
- 4:58Speaker 1: to learning from his that are in teammates.
- 5:02Speaker 4: One hundred percent. I can get behind those guys and
- 5:04Speaker 4: learn from the much as Orlando and Tread as much
- 5:06Speaker 4: as possible. It's just wild man, just watching both of
- 5:08Speaker 4: those guys in college and not in the league and
- 5:10Speaker 4: just you know, getting getting to be in the same
- 5:12Speaker 4: room with them. Man, it's just a blessing.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Man.
- 5:15Speaker 1: MEM's watched the draft in Atlanta with his family and
- 5:18Speaker 1: former teammates and coaches.
- 5:21Speaker 4: All my family, my past teammates, passed coaches. But I said,
- 5:25Speaker 4: close the members and friends with here today. And like
- 5:28Speaker 4: I said, that, media actually just mad all into his
- 5:30Speaker 4: cry and difficult life as a kid. I dream to
- 5:32Speaker 4: be in a situation honestly, you know, and and don't
- 5:35Speaker 4: say there's a lot of a lot of picks on
- 5:36Speaker 4: this run. It does a lot of picks in the
- 5:37Speaker 4: drafts man. For me to be at pick eight, things
- 5:40Speaker 4: as wild Man.
- 5:41Speaker 1: The Bengals booth podcast is brought to you by Paid Corps,
- 5:44Speaker 1: proud to be the Bengals official HR software provider, by
- 5:48Speaker 1: Alta Fiber future proof fiber Internet designed to elevate your home,
- 5:52Speaker 1: business and community to a new level, and by Kettering
- 5:55Speaker 1: Health the best care for the best fans. Kettering Health
- 5:59Speaker 1: is the official healthcare provider of the Bengals. Now time
- 6:04Speaker 1: for analysis of round one and a look ahead to
- 6:07Speaker 1: Friday second and third rounds with Dave Lapham Lap You
- 6:11Speaker 1: were hoping for JC Latham and Talsa Fuaga. Unfortunately they
- 6:16Speaker 1: were taken before the Bengals were on the clock at
- 6:18Speaker 1: number eighteen. But I don't get the sense from you
- 6:20Speaker 1: that you are disappointed with the selection of Amarius Mims
- 6:25Speaker 1: six seven, three hundred and forty pounds thirty six and
- 6:29Speaker 1: an eighth inch arms. The man is a freak of nature.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Absolutely, and when we did our podcast, he was the
- 6:37Speaker 3: guy that we were talking about. I mean, just sheer
- 6:40Speaker 3: measurables are extraordinary. I mean his hand size from his
- 6:44Speaker 3: pinky to his thumb tip of each eleven and a
- 6:47Speaker 3: quarter almost a ruler that he's palming. Their wingspan eighty
- 6:52Speaker 3: six and three quarters seven feet two inches plus I mean,
- 6:57Speaker 3: he is big everywhere you want a guy to be big,
- 7:01Speaker 3: and an athletic thing is he's not as stiff. He
- 7:03Speaker 3: can move eight starts, limited number of snaps. But all
- 7:10Speaker 3: I can say is the last player the Bengals drafted
- 7:13Speaker 3: in the offensive line that had limited starts and was
- 7:15Speaker 3: extremely athletic, it was Anthony Wunhams that sure worked out,
- 7:19Speaker 3: worked out okay. And I can remember vividly talking to
- 7:22Speaker 3: Forest Greg and he said, when he went out and
- 7:25Speaker 3: worked Anthony Munhos out, Anthony Winos put him on his butt,
- 7:28Speaker 3: and when he put his hand out to pull force
- 7:31Speaker 3: Greg up, he said, he engulfed my hand. He was
- 7:34Speaker 3: up by my wrist and forearm. So you know, you're
- 7:36Speaker 3: talking measurables and athleticism. That's what this kid is.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You know.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Obviously the best ability of the best ability is availability,
- 7:45Speaker 3: and he has struggle with that, you know, somewhat, But
- 7:48Speaker 3: obviously so did Anthony. It certainly didn't curtail a career that,
- 7:52Speaker 3: in my mind, is the best any offensive lineman has
- 7:55Speaker 3: ever had. And if Mims can just get to whatever
- 8:00Speaker 3: level of that, the Cincinnati Bens would be very very pleased.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I wonder what Mike Brown was thinking. I mean, he
- 8:05Speaker 3: was involved in both of those selections. I wonder if
- 8:08Speaker 3: Mike Brown talked about, you know, brought up Anthony and
- 8:11Speaker 3: the parallels between them and the process of the evaluation
- 8:14Speaker 3: and all that sort of thing.
- 8:16Speaker 1: This is an upside pick. He's not needed right away.
- 8:20Speaker 1: They signed Trent Brown to a one year contract to
- 8:22Speaker 1: play right tackle. You take a big swing here for
- 8:25Speaker 1: a Marius Mimms, hoping he can be the type of
- 8:29Speaker 1: guy that you only can land with a first round.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Draft pick exactly. I mean, the floor is the tape,
- 8:36Speaker 3: and there's not a whole lot of tape. The you know,
- 8:40Speaker 3: the ceiling is character, and it seems that he's got
- 8:45Speaker 3: a lot of that, not just football character, but overall character.
- 8:48Speaker 3: The thing that's going to be great though with him
- 8:51Speaker 3: is he comes in here with two massive human beings,
- 8:55Speaker 3: the Browns at the manning the two tackle positions, six ' eight,
- 8:59Speaker 3: three hundred and whatever, plus you know, big, strong hands,
- 9:02Speaker 3: long arms, just like him. It's like, Okay, we'll bring
- 9:07Speaker 3: you in and you're gonna learn from guys that have
- 9:10Speaker 3: very similar body type to you, and they've learned how
- 9:13Speaker 3: to use that body to win in the National Football league,
- 9:17Speaker 3: not just individually against their opponent, but win super Bowls.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I mean they're both Super Bowl champions. So I think
- 9:25Speaker 3: that he is in an unbelievable place in his career
- 9:30Speaker 3: to learn from two outstanding football players and high character
- 9:34Speaker 3: guys as well. I think that he couldn't really ask
- 9:38Speaker 3: for a better situation. I mean, he was all excited
- 9:41Speaker 3: about being coached by Frank Pollack too. I think he
- 9:43Speaker 3: and Frank Pollitck hit it off big time, you know
- 9:45Speaker 3: when they came here and met each other and got
- 9:48Speaker 3: on the board and talked football and all that. So,
- 9:51Speaker 3: you know, And the other thing is, I mean, he
- 9:52Speaker 3: played at Georgia. He is He's coming from winning culture.
- 9:56Speaker 3: He's working with offensive linemen that you know for project
- 10:00Speaker 3: his starters are Super Bowl winners. I mean, it's it's
- 10:02Speaker 3: a there's a lot of pluses there. He went against
- 10:06Speaker 3: the guys he played against when he did have his
- 10:08Speaker 3: eight starts with quality players. He practiced against quality players
- 10:11Speaker 3: every single every single practice snap that he took down
- 10:15Speaker 3: there at Georgia. They recruit the best players you know,
- 10:19Speaker 3: on the planet at the college football level. So it's
- 10:22Speaker 3: not like, you know, this is he's he's just inexperienced,
- 10:28Speaker 3: you know, in terms of number of snaps. But he's
- 10:31Speaker 3: not raw. He's proven he can do it, just needs
- 10:34Speaker 3: to do it in a more volume basis.
- 10:38Speaker 1: We mentioned the size six seven, three forty. The thing
- 10:41Speaker 1: that people keep bringing up is that he's got a
- 10:44Speaker 1: low body fat percentage. Normally, when you see three hundred
- 10:46Speaker 1: and forty pound offensive lineman, when they take the shirt off,
- 10:50Speaker 1: there's you know, there's a little bit jiggling there. Seventeen
- 10:53Speaker 1: percent body fat for a guy his size is indeed
- 10:56Speaker 1: highly unusual.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Genetic freakazoid, I mean, genetic marvel he is. He's put together.
- 11:02Speaker 3: He's put together in the right places. You know. I
- 11:05Speaker 3: think if you were to go into laboratory and concoct
- 11:09Speaker 3: you know, I'm gonna put in raw materials here in
- 11:12Speaker 3: this formulation to create the epitome of a body type
- 11:17Speaker 3: for an offensive tackle, Marius Mims would come spitting out
- 11:20Speaker 3: of there. I mean, he's that type of guy. But
- 11:24Speaker 3: you know, the thing is, I've seen guys that look
- 11:30Speaker 3: like Tarzan play like Jane, and I've seen guys that
- 11:33Speaker 3: look like you know, the guy getting off the collecting
- 11:36Speaker 3: your rubbers off the truck to pick up your trash
- 11:39Speaker 3: who goes out there and kicks button, takes names. So
- 11:43Speaker 3: it's not just you know, it's not it's it's not
- 11:45Speaker 3: a beauty pageant. It's not a body beautiful thing. But
- 11:49Speaker 3: the fact is he can play. He can play. He's athletic.
- 11:52Speaker 3: He's not a stiff. A lot of sometimes you see
- 11:54Speaker 3: these big, you know, big herculean type guy, stiff as
- 11:57Speaker 3: a board. This guy's fluid, athletic again, big in the
- 12:02Speaker 3: right places, and he is I think with the upside
- 12:08Speaker 3: potential he has, it's probably limitless at this point. I mean,
- 12:12Speaker 3: if I'm Frank Pollock, I'm sitting there and I've got
- 12:16Speaker 3: an enormous amount of clay, and I'm going to construct
- 12:21Speaker 3: a work of art because this guy has all the
- 12:25Speaker 3: raw materials to put together a work of art. And
- 12:28Speaker 3: I think Frank Pollack's going to be excited to get
- 12:30Speaker 3: everything he can out of this guy.
- 12:32Speaker 1: A three hundred and forty pound block of clay. That
- 12:34Speaker 1: is something to work with. In this era of the
- 12:37Speaker 1: extra year, due to COVID and the transfer portal, ANIL, etc.
- 12:41Speaker 1: There are a lot of older players in this draft.
- 12:44Speaker 1: He's twenty one years old. He had a three point
- 12:46Speaker 1: six GPA. Sounds like he's a smart kid, came off
- 12:50Speaker 1: well in his conference call with Cincinnati Area reporters. So
- 12:54Speaker 1: a lot of those things you're looking for in somebody
- 12:57Speaker 1: that you can develop into being a Pro Bowl type
- 13:00Speaker 1: player right there.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Not only younger, but nowhere and tear So again, you
- 13:08Speaker 3: have you have a guy that's coming in here with
- 13:11Speaker 3: a floor, but his ceiling is I don't know how
- 13:15Speaker 3: many stories up there. It's it's incredibly high. And you know, again,
- 13:20Speaker 3: it's almost like I'm thinking about Anthony Munhos. I mean,
- 13:23Speaker 3: Anthony came in. There's not a better human being walking
- 13:26Speaker 3: the planet in Anthony Munhos. I mean high character guy,
- 13:28Speaker 3: intelligent guy. This kid seems to have some of those
- 13:32Speaker 3: those traits as well. So I don't want to you know, Okay,
- 13:36Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say if he if he doesn't play
- 13:39Speaker 3: like anything Winos, this guy's a bust. I'm not saying
- 13:42Speaker 3: that whatsoever. What I am saying is the league was
- 13:47Speaker 3: scoffing at the Bengals for taking Anthony Winows. He was
- 13:49Speaker 3: off most teams board and the and the Bengals take
- 13:52Speaker 3: him top five pick and the rest of the league
- 13:55Speaker 3: falling about it, and now you know, they're all like,
- 13:58Speaker 3: oh man, that is the greatest What a brilliant pick,
- 14:02Speaker 3: What a brilliant move the Cincinnati Bengals made. It was
- 14:04Speaker 3: gutsy and it was it certainly, uh it certainly got
- 14:09Speaker 3: a lot of criticism when they did it. But then
- 14:11Speaker 3: as soon as Anthony Muni was panned out, oh man,
- 14:13Speaker 3: that was the greatest move anybody ever made as a franchise.
- 14:16Speaker 3: And hopefully that's the situation with Mims.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Troy Fought Wutanu from Washington went a few picks later
- 14:21Speaker 1: to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Why do you think the Bengals
- 14:24Speaker 1: went Mims over fought Wutanu.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I think because, you know, looking at the body and
- 14:29Speaker 3: looking at the upside potential. I mean, again, I don't
- 14:34Speaker 3: want to bring anything back to Anthony Munhos, but it's
- 14:36Speaker 3: like he's off the board in a lot of teams,
- 14:39Speaker 3: and there were other tackles out there, but as it
- 14:43Speaker 3: turned out, couldn't hold a candle on to Anthony Munhos
- 14:45Speaker 3: and the Bengals won. I think they were thinking that
- 14:50Speaker 3: this guy may pan out to be the best tackle
- 14:53Speaker 3: in the draft in this year's draft. Went all of
- 14:56Speaker 3: a said and done and who knows, you know, three years,
- 14:58Speaker 3: five years, seven years, ten years down the road, that's
- 15:01Speaker 3: when you, you know, evaluate that sort of thing. But
- 15:05Speaker 3: I think a lot of a lot of times you're
- 15:07Speaker 3: you're taking players based on upside potential and environment that
- 15:13Speaker 3: they're going to. And George is a great environment, there's
- 15:15Speaker 3: no question about that. But I think, you know, he
- 15:18Speaker 3: feels like and the Bengals feel like he's coming into
- 15:21Speaker 3: a good situation with the offensive lineman that we already
- 15:24Speaker 3: talked about and that he's going to be a part of.
- 15:26Speaker 3: And you talk about the biggest offensive lining captivity. My gosh, man,
- 15:29Speaker 3: they should they should charge an emission fee to watch
- 15:31Speaker 3: these guys come up, walk out of the locker room
- 15:33Speaker 3: to go to the practice field, or to get on
- 15:35Speaker 3: the bus and off the bus and on the plane
- 15:37Speaker 3: and off the plane. I mean, it's crazy, but I
- 15:40Speaker 3: do think honestly, when I if I were him, when
- 15:44Speaker 3: I'd sit back and think about it after the fact, Man,
- 15:47Speaker 3: I really had a great visit, really liked the offensive
- 15:51Speaker 3: line coach. I think he's going to be able to
- 15:52Speaker 3: develop me. And that's the key is Anthony Wuinho has
- 15:56Speaker 3: had Jim McNally. You know, hopefully frankmin yapp Frank Pollock
- 16:00Speaker 3: has the same influence on this young man that Jim
- 16:03Speaker 3: mcneally had on Anthony Munhals and Anthony Muniolls will tell
- 16:06Speaker 3: you that he was luckiest guy in the world. He
- 16:09Speaker 3: had a great offensive line coach at USC, Mims had
- 16:12Speaker 3: a great offensive line coach at Georgia. We've already talked
- 16:15Speaker 3: about the fact that they didn't take as many snaps
- 16:17Speaker 3: in college as that they had hoped. They come to
- 16:19Speaker 3: the NFL and they're developed more by really good offensive
- 16:24Speaker 3: line coaches at the NFL level. I mean, there's so
- 16:26Speaker 3: many parallels there, and I think that's probably the biggest
- 16:29Speaker 3: reason that you know that Frank and the Bengals went
- 16:32Speaker 3: in that direction.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Six quarterbacks went in the first twelve picks. As a result,
- 16:37Speaker 1: the top cornerback was still on the board when the
- 16:39Speaker 1: Bengals were on the clock. Johnny Newton was still on
- 16:42Speaker 1: the board. Great edge rushers were still on the board.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Do you think that they were briefly reconsidering whether they
- 16:49Speaker 1: wanted to stick with the offensive lineman or were they
- 16:51Speaker 1: just celebrating the fact that Mims was still there.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it sounded like they were high five,
- 16:56Speaker 3: and you know the fact that the fact that Mims
- 16:59Speaker 3: was still there, it didn't In the conversations that you
- 17:04Speaker 3: know that Zach Taylor and Dan Pitcher had with the
- 17:07Speaker 3: media after the pick, it didn't sound like there was
- 17:10Speaker 3: much of a hesitation, nothing deterred them from Okay, it's Mims.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I mean, he's the guy. It sounds like he was
- 17:19Speaker 3: as the offensive lineman started to come off. He was
- 17:21Speaker 3: the guy that they were targeting and hoping that he
- 17:24Speaker 3: would be there at eighteen. And they didn't have to
- 17:26Speaker 3: move a muscle to do it.
- 17:27Speaker 1: All right, let's look ahead to day two. The Bengals
- 17:30Speaker 1: have one second round pick, two third round picks. What
- 17:33Speaker 1: position groups would you like to see them attack? And
- 17:35Speaker 1: do you have any names that you'll be dreaming about
- 17:38Speaker 1: tonight in preparation for Day two?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I mean, if Newton
- 17:43Speaker 3: slides to the to the you know, eighteen in the Sarah,
- 17:47Speaker 3: you know, if he's there as we're speaking, I'm not
- 17:50Speaker 3: sure what's taking place in the rest of the second round,
- 17:53Speaker 3: but if a guy like a guy like that is there,
- 17:57Speaker 3: would I would highly consider that. But also, you know,
- 18:01Speaker 3: look at obviously the wide receiver position, and again not
- 18:08Speaker 3: knowing who is who's coming off the board in the
- 18:11Speaker 3: first round and who who might be there you know
- 18:13Speaker 3: in the second but Keon Coleman would be a guy.
- 18:19Speaker 3: And then and then Baker from Central Florida potentially in
- 18:21Speaker 3: the third round, if if he's still you know, on
- 18:24Speaker 3: the board, and then you know, defensive players has been
- 18:28Speaker 3: an offensive draft obviously have set a record. Uh, it
- 18:31Speaker 3: didn't draft any defensive players for the longest period of
- 18:33Speaker 3: time during the course of the day. But again, if
- 18:37Speaker 3: if if Newton is there, you got to think about him.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I mean, if there are edge rushers. Edge rushers hadn't
- 18:43Speaker 3: been coming off the board before the Bengals picked at eighteen,
- 18:46Speaker 3: so you got to think that some of the some
- 18:48Speaker 3: of those guys might slide down a little bit. I
- 18:52Speaker 3: do like this Darius Robinson from Georgia. I think he
- 18:54Speaker 3: can play inside in outside. You know, Mason Smith from
- 19:01Speaker 3: LSU in the third round, McKinley Jackson potentially in the
- 19:05Speaker 3: third round at the defensive tackle position. Quarnerback is going
- 19:08Speaker 3: to be wide open. I mean, gosh, there're you know,
- 19:11Speaker 3: I've got a dozen more candidates in the first two
- 19:14Speaker 3: rounds and all of them aren't going to go obviously
- 19:18Speaker 3: at be a candidate there at eighteen. I think they've
- 19:22Speaker 3: got options. I think the way the way the draft
- 19:24Speaker 3: started out, every team in the league that didn't have
- 19:27Speaker 3: to worry about the quarterback position was thrilled. I mean
- 19:31Speaker 3: half the first twelve picks in the draft. It's like
- 19:33Speaker 3: man our board is still so intact. Its unbelievable, Like
- 19:36Speaker 3: the Bengals are saying, you know, I mean they basically
- 19:39Speaker 3: rated the quarterbacks on their board as Okay, who's the
- 19:43Speaker 3: better football player? Is it this quarterback or the other guy?
- 19:47Speaker 3: And they had many other people between you know, those
- 19:50Speaker 3: quarterbacks that were drafted in the six quarterbacks draft in
- 19:55Speaker 3: the top twelve picks. So it's going to be interesting
- 19:59Speaker 3: that the rip effect that that has, you know, on
- 20:02Speaker 3: the second round, and how far down the ripple effect
- 20:04Speaker 3: goes into the third round.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Zach Taylor's first first round pick at the Bengals head
- 20:09Speaker 1: coach as an offensive lineman Jonah Williams now in year
- 20:12Speaker 1: six he gets another and a Marius Mims can't wait
- 20:15Speaker 1: to meet the big fellow tomorrow.
- 20:17Speaker 3: And it's crazy he was drafted to be a candidate
- 20:22Speaker 3: at some point in time to take the position of
- 20:24Speaker 3: Jonah Williams. I mean he played both left and right
- 20:28Speaker 3: and Mims is going to be, you know, working at
- 20:30Speaker 3: both right and left tackle position. I mean he's athletic
- 20:33Speaker 3: enough and you know, messive enough obviously to do it. Yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 3: it's it's a came full circle, unbelievable.
- 20:41Speaker 1: More to come tomorrow night, after Day two of the draft,
