- 0:15Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Pink Shade. It's very pain here.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's Thursday. I've got my friend here, one of my
- 0:22Speaker 1: besties and the biz and in real life my friend
- 0:24Speaker 1: Cake Casey of Reality Life with Cake Casey.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Thank you for having me. Glad to be back. Glad
- 0:30Speaker 2: to be back.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Your hair looks really cute. Are you doing something different?
- 0:33Speaker 2: No, it feels so dry underneath. I was just kind
- 0:36Speaker 2: of playing with it. It feels like someone died underneath my
- 0:40Speaker 2: hair and then there's still attached to it. I don't know.
- 0:42Speaker 2: My hair goes through seasons all the time, but it
- 0:45Speaker 2: is extremely thick and dense, and I have to get
- 0:50Speaker 2: it thinned a lot o. Both my parents have very
- 0:54Speaker 2: thick like Irish hair, yeah, which in theory would be
- 0:58Speaker 2: a great thing but is actually kind of a headache.
- 1:02Speaker 2: And I have four girls and they all have really
- 1:04Speaker 2: thick care too, So there's just a lot of hair
- 1:06Speaker 2: situations going on in the house. But you know what's funny,
- 1:09Speaker 2: My number three is like she's twelve, sixth grade or
- 1:13Speaker 2: she's obsessed with hair. She maakes up at six fifteen
- 1:16Speaker 2: every morning and does a very complicated braid or hair style,
- 1:20Speaker 2: and she just had her conference on Monday, and the
- 1:24Speaker 2: teacher said, I just look forward to what new things
- 1:26Speaker 2: she's gonna come in. She has coordinated bows, she does
- 1:29Speaker 2: complicated braids, like she that's her thing.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I can't braide my own hair. I can get into.
- 1:35Speaker 2: The hilarity of it. Yeah, I've got my hair in
- 1:38Speaker 2: like a low ponytail all the time, like an Amish woman.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Me too, Like I can't even do my own little
- 1:43Speaker 1: braid in my own hair. No, no, okay, well, good
- 1:46Speaker 1: for her. That means she's artistic.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I guess, huh, that one I think might run a company.
- 1:51Speaker 2: She's really okay, she's very intense.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Okay, she's not the twenty percent.
- 1:57Speaker 2: She is the one. Yes, no, that is her. That's
- 2:01Speaker 2: the funny thing. Yeah, she started. And this is just
- 2:05Speaker 2: if you've got young moms listening, I hope that this
- 2:08Speaker 2: makes them feel better. At the beginning of the year,
- 2:11Speaker 2: I was really worried about her because she's we live
- 2:13Speaker 2: in a different neighborhood than the actual school is located.
- 2:17Speaker 2: All those kids from that school live in the neighborhood.
- 2:19Speaker 2: We live outside. And the truth is, if you live
- 2:21Speaker 2: outside the neighborhood, sometimes you've forgotten about for playdates. Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: so I worried about her and she wasn't invited to
- 2:28Speaker 2: a couple of things. And I knew a couple of
- 2:30Speaker 2: the moms in the grade, and I just said, I
- 2:33Speaker 2: text them, I go, I just need you to let
- 2:35Speaker 2: me know because I know that you will tell me.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Is my kid an asshole?
- 2:40Speaker 1: You know?
- 2:41Speaker 2: Because if they're a dork, I can work with that,
- 2:43Speaker 2: but like an assholes, it's going to be scorched her.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Then they're going to And they said, no, it's you know,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and I realized it's we're out of the neighborhood thing.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Cut too. I get a text from one of those
- 2:54Speaker 2: moms about two weeks ago and she said, I just
- 2:56Speaker 2: need you to know that the girls other girls were
- 2:59Speaker 2: all in the car and they said that my daughter
- 3:02Speaker 2: was their favorite in the entire grade because she's no drama.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Oh you did notice she's everybody likes her so like
- 3:10Speaker 2: she's everyone's favorite because she just stays out of everybody's
- 3:12Speaker 2: business and she's super happy and supportive. And I think
- 3:17Speaker 2: it goes back to me always thinking she'd run a
- 3:19Speaker 2: company because she just doesn't get mired in people's nonsense business.
- 3:26Speaker 2: She's all about the mission. Yeah, but that is funny. Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 2: she used to give thirty percent, and she's a dancer now,
- 3:31Speaker 2: which is even more funny. Nobody about this, but you know,
- 3:35Speaker 2: the point is for young moms where you're like, socially,
- 3:39Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with my kid, and
- 3:41Speaker 2: this is so frustrating, and you cry yourself to sleep.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Lord knows I have. I've got five kids. They have
- 3:46Speaker 2: all of ebbs and flows. Something may turn a corner.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It's like they have a playdate and they get find
- 3:53Speaker 2: somebody who's their people. There's some life experience that gives
- 3:57Speaker 2: them a bunch of confidence. Truly, you could turn a
- 4:00Speaker 2: corner at any minute.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Well, I agree with that, and I only have the
- 4:03Speaker 1: two children. I'm an underachiever in the children department, and
- 4:08Speaker 1: I agree with that. You never know, you never know.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And also I'm always just of the belief of like,
- 4:14Speaker 1: it'll turn out like it's supposed to do, They'll end
- 4:16Speaker 1: up where they're supposed to, whatever will be, We're be
- 4:19Speaker 1: and you can only control so much.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Again, very helpful for me to have friends who
- 4:24Speaker 2: have older kids, because there are many times I'll call
- 4:27Speaker 2: you about something and you'll go, okay, Well, here's the deal.
- 4:31Speaker 2: You got to chill the hell out.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's not important in the long run, you know. Yeah, Well,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I got to tell you guys, we're here to talk
- 4:40Speaker 1: about pop culture and Bravo and I'm gonna also be
- 4:45Speaker 1: this week on Ice and Anna's podcast Reality Court, So
- 4:50Speaker 1: be looking for me there to be chatting Bravo as well.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So to do that, to get ready for this, I
- 4:54Speaker 1: had to kind of catch up on Bravo because I
- 4:56Speaker 1: was out of town, so I watched two episodes of
- 4:58Speaker 1: Beverly Hills last night. I made sure I was caught
- 5:00Speaker 1: up on Southern Charm, which I was. But we're about
- 5:04Speaker 1: to enter a heyday of Bravo. We're about to have Atlanta,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Rhode Island, the Valley for Rhode Island, and Ladies of
- 5:14Speaker 1: London just started, so we're like, we're about to be like,
- 5:16Speaker 1: you know, Bravo giveth and Bravo taketh Away.
- 5:20Speaker 2: So I don't know if I'm so like, I'm not
- 5:23Speaker 2: like chomping the bit for the Valley. I really like
- 5:25Speaker 2: Ladies of London. I'm excited about Real Housewives and DA
- 5:28Speaker 2: I guess the net is. I really like new people,
- 5:31Speaker 2: new stories. I get very I wouldn't say bored, but
- 5:35Speaker 2: I just sort of get like, okay, big Ben Parliament,
- 5:37Speaker 2: where are we going with it? Yeah?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree. Well, Ladies of London, Keisha
- 5:42Speaker 1: and are gonna be covering that on Mondays on the
- 5:44Speaker 1: free Feed.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Oh that's good.
- 5:46Speaker 1: We just were like, because you know, we cover prisoner
- 5:48Speaker 1: shows on Monday, MUK Shop Monday, but our prisoner show
- 5:52Speaker 1: is off right now, so we were like, let's completely
- 5:56Speaker 1: mix it around, so we're gonna call it like Monarch Monday.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And I liked your Majesty Monday, and we also had
- 6:05Speaker 1: Milady Monday, but I think we're gonna go with Marnock Mondays.
- 6:09Speaker 1: But we I've only watched the first episode, even though
- 6:11Speaker 1: they dropped two because we sort of decided at the
- 6:14Speaker 1: last minute. I only had the you know, because I
- 6:16Speaker 1: was out of town. I only had time to watch
- 6:17Speaker 1: the first. But so far, so good. Next week we're
- 6:20Speaker 1: going to cover two and three together. And Micah, the
- 6:24Speaker 1: girl that Dara hates is that is so that scene
- 6:31Speaker 1: with her like going in and talking to Dara and
- 6:33Speaker 1: then everybody saying Darre really hates her and says she's
- 6:36Speaker 1: cringe and all that I was like, oh, we've all
- 6:40Speaker 1: been there, We've all been We've all been there, like oh,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I got our friend, this is my friend, and then
- 6:45Speaker 1: finding out they've really been shit talking to you and
- 6:47Speaker 1: think you're annoying as fuck.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I was talking to Louis Staples, who's a culture
- 6:52Speaker 2: writer about yeah yeah show Yeah, and it was so
- 6:57Speaker 2: funny to me thinking about, like the biggest cultural difference
- 7:01Speaker 2: is in America, if you're self made, you are top
- 7:04Speaker 2: of the tier, like you get the most respect. It's
- 7:07Speaker 2: totally opposite there. Yes, it's like a neo baby there.
- 7:11Speaker 2: You would want to be a neo baby like baby
- 7:14Speaker 2: is like big time, but in America you're like shit
- 7:17Speaker 2: on if your.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's really interesting, right, because it's also very
- 7:23Speaker 1: interesting about Ladies London. If you guys aren't watching it,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you have time to catch up. They only put out
- 7:27Speaker 1: two episodes so far. On Thursday night they'll be the
- 7:30Speaker 1: third and uh, I thought it was interesting about Emma,
- 7:34Speaker 1: who is married to the baron or whatever higher than
- 7:39Speaker 1: a baron, a marquis, marquise. However you say it, March March, Hanna, Marcella, No,
- 7:47Speaker 1: but go ahead, Marchesa. I don't know I'm gonna have
- 7:51Speaker 1: to bone up on it, but uh that she is
- 7:54Speaker 1: actually the first black woman to marry in the aristocracy,
- 7:58Speaker 1: not Megan mark Goal, and I loved that.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Well, there's a difference. So Brian Moylan's husband broke this
- 8:06Speaker 2: down to me. So there's the monarchy there, there's the aristocracy,
- 8:09Speaker 2: and then there's social lights. So there's three different categories.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So Megan Markle was monarchy and this is the aristocracy.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And years ago during COVID, I tried to make a
- 8:20Speaker 2: show about female CEOs in London and she was one
- 8:24Speaker 2: of the people that we had kind of looked at because,
- 8:27Speaker 2: as she describes in the first episode, you have these
- 8:31Speaker 2: enormous family estates, yes, and you have to keep the
- 8:34Speaker 2: lights on and if you don't, the government takes it back. Yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 2: So the onus is on those people to maintain those homes.
- 8:42Speaker 2: But a lot of them they have these fancy titles,
- 8:44Speaker 2: but they don't have like a real skill set and
- 8:46Speaker 2: they need to make money.
- 8:47Speaker 1: They're like, I don't have any money, yeah, cash poor. Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 2: So she and the husband came up with this brilliant
- 8:53Speaker 2: idea to have a safari and like tons of people
- 8:57Speaker 2: go it's like a big thing to go on.
- 9:00Speaker 1: The show over a million people a year ago. Yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 1: to tour the home and to go in the Safari.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And remember the first Ladies of London there was Juliet
- 9:09Speaker 1: Montague never watched it. Oh, okay, so first season or
- 9:13Speaker 1: the original season. I guess it was like season three.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Juliet Montague joins she was an American and she married
- 9:20Speaker 2: a brit and they have one of those estate homes.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And I highly encourage people to go and follow her
- 9:25Speaker 2: on Instagram. She years ago explained to me that whole
- 9:28Speaker 2: thing about when you lose the house if you can't
- 9:30Speaker 2: pay for it. So she started to make videos of
- 9:33Speaker 2: renovating this home that had been in her husband's family
- 9:37Speaker 2: for generations and generations. And then I think that I
- 9:40Speaker 2: used to stay to her years ago. Man, this could
- 9:43Speaker 2: be a TV show. I think that they actually have
- 9:45Speaker 2: a TV show now and she has big groups that
- 9:48Speaker 2: come and you can stay at the home. But the
- 9:50Speaker 2: other thing I always said to her, which I guess
- 9:53Speaker 2: it is hard to do, is you should have like
- 9:56Speaker 2: a music festival because they have gigantic properties.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes, and you also have to factor and you have
- 10:02Speaker 2: to have restrooms.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Right. Well, it's a lot to go into that fire festival.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But I am Ladies of London. I like I said,
- 10:12Speaker 1: only watch the one episode. I'm excited about it. Now
- 10:17Speaker 1: the Valley, you're not excited about it. I am excited
- 10:19Speaker 1: about the Valley. I am. I love those people. I'm
- 10:24Speaker 1: Avander pump rules o G until I die. I don't know.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I'll be old on my couch with these people, I guess.
- 10:32Speaker 1: But I'm excited about it, and I'm going to be
- 10:37Speaker 1: very interested. So Sheena is not going to be on
- 10:40Speaker 1: the lala Is and I was kind of hoping they
- 10:42Speaker 1: were gonna bring in this whole things between Sena and
- 10:45Speaker 1: La La with you know, so.
- 10:47Speaker 2: This show's coming back and Sheena is not invited to
- 10:50Speaker 2: any of this stuff that's going to be a torturous
- 10:52Speaker 2: for her.
- 10:53Speaker 1: No, she was invited and she denied it.
- 10:54Speaker 2: She was I know it's gonna be torturous. She's gonna
- 10:58Speaker 2: regret that.
- 10:59Speaker 1: She's going to regret it. When she decided it, she
- 11:01Speaker 1: didn't think, well, it's not going to come out until
- 11:03Speaker 1: a year from now, so I've got a year to
- 11:05Speaker 1: But no, it was short sighted.
- 11:07Speaker 2: That's actually the side reality show that I would want
- 11:10Speaker 2: to be privy to is her melting down because she's
- 11:15Speaker 2: gonna have so much to say? You know what? She
- 11:18Speaker 2: can have her podcast, she can, you know she can. Yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 2: she can review each episode. It actually might be better
- 11:24Speaker 2: because she'll probably say things you know, no one else
- 11:26Speaker 2: is willing to do so, and.
- 11:28Speaker 1: She's not under contract with brother true.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Okay, this is going to work out.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Actually, listen to our podcast, Atlanta. I'm excited about that,
- 11:36Speaker 1: mostly because I'm excited about the Porsche being in a
- 11:42Speaker 1: lesbian relationship. I think it's fascinating. Good for her.
- 11:46Speaker 2: She is such like a funny TV character, so funny.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Really, I love I think Pader is also hilarious.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Phaedra is an Olympic gold medal reality TV star ne
- 11:58Speaker 2: Lee Gold Medals.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Are totally totally. I'm glad we're gonna see Nani on
- 12:03Speaker 1: this Ultimate Girls strip. Whenever that's gonna be. I don't
- 12:06Speaker 1: when will that be? In the summer?
- 12:07Speaker 2: You think? I don't think it's too far off. Chris,
- 12:11Speaker 2: our friend Chris.
- 12:14Speaker 1: He worked on it. I know, I know. God bless Okay,
- 12:17Speaker 1: Rhode Island, what are you hearing about? Real Housewives of
- 12:20Speaker 1: Rhode Island?
- 12:21Speaker 2: I mean not much. But that could be two things.
- 12:23Speaker 2: It could be like the sleeper hit, or it could
- 12:26Speaker 2: be really bad. I don't know. I don't know anybody
- 12:30Speaker 2: who's working on it.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I know literally nothing about it. All I know about
- 12:35Speaker 1: Rhode Island is Inkrid's brother in law and his husband,
- 12:39Speaker 1: who are on the cruise with us, live in Rhode Island.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And that's what I know about Rhode Island.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It's so where like Newport, Rhode Island is so beautiful.
- 12:47Speaker 2: My friend got married there. Actually, my friend I've been
- 12:50Speaker 2: to Newport. My friend Kylie used to live here and
- 12:54Speaker 2: then she moved to Newport and she became this big time,
- 12:56Speaker 2: super successful real estate agent. But now she's moving to
- 13:03Speaker 2: somewhere else. My friend Christine just told me because her
- 13:05Speaker 2: husband like works in the boat industry. But I thought
- 13:07Speaker 2: that she was actually going to be on the original
- 13:10Speaker 2: or the I thought she would be a cast member.
- 13:12Speaker 2: But she's moving. Well, I'll ask her, I'll find out.
- 13:16Speaker 1: She'll know everything. She'll know everything.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Sounds like this one is like not in Newport, Rhode Island.
- 13:22Speaker 2: This is like in another suburb. But it's a bunch
- 13:25Speaker 2: of like friends or family members, and I kind of
- 13:30Speaker 2: I kind of wish there were two shows because I
- 13:33Speaker 2: do like the super fancy people who are like uptight
- 13:36Speaker 2: and have all these super scandals. But I do love
- 13:39Speaker 2: a group of women who kind of live in the
- 13:41Speaker 2: sub I live in suburbia, so I kind of dig
- 13:44Speaker 2: this suburban, crazy parent kind of story.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Well, yeah, when you say Rhode Island, I mean it's
- 13:50Speaker 1: the whole state, so you're not. It's like just then
- 13:53Speaker 1: when they did Love is Blind, Ohio, instead of being
- 13:55Speaker 1: like Columbus or Cleveland or whatever, they did the whole state.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So Rhode Island, Yes, we unders and it's a very
- 14:00Speaker 1: tiny state, but there are different cities.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Well, I think that they kind of made it in
- 14:04Speaker 2: the beginning. It was like a lot of landscape photos
- 14:07Speaker 2: of like Newport, Rhode Island, the gigantic mansions. But I
- 14:10Speaker 2: think in reality it's like, you know, live in these
- 14:13Speaker 2: small neighborhoods. So for the people that are like, wait,
- 14:16Speaker 2: housewives should be aspirational living, it's probably gonna be a
- 14:20Speaker 2: bunch of people that are, you know, in Bezley money
- 14:22Speaker 2: and like a true suburban story where you're looking at
- 14:26Speaker 2: your neighbor like how do they afford that? Yeah?
- 14:30Speaker 1: And you and by the way, aspirational is different for everybody, right, Like, yes,
- 14:35Speaker 1: you know Cole Rich's life is aspirational, but you know
- 14:39Speaker 1: you could look Intolor's Catania's life could be aspirational. You know,
- 14:42Speaker 1: these are very different levels of wealth. Okay, let's talk
- 14:47Speaker 1: about Summer House. So I don't watch it. I don't
- 14:50Speaker 1: fuck a Summerhouse. Don't come at me. I'm also never
- 14:52Speaker 1: going to watch Lost. Don't come at me. I'm not
- 14:54Speaker 1: going to watch Wire either. I don't want to hear it,
- 14:57Speaker 1: I know, Okay.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I don't have time. I feel like that about Game
- 15:02Speaker 2: of Thrones.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm never gonna watch it.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I'm sorry to watch it, forget it.
- 15:06Speaker 1: My son watched it. He's obsessed with it that he
- 15:09Speaker 1: started reading the books, like obsessed. So sorry, not going
- 15:11Speaker 1: to do it. Okay. I don't want to see a
- 15:14Speaker 1: girl fucking a dragon.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I don't want just dragons. You lost me to dragon,
- 15:18Speaker 2: lost me to dragons.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Okay, but Summerhouse. I don't watch it, but I always
- 15:22Speaker 1: like to talk to my guest about it because it
- 15:24Speaker 1: is big in the Bravo world. So Kyle and Amanda
- 15:28Speaker 1: are getting divorced. That's all I know about what's happening
- 15:33Speaker 1: right now because Page is off and Page is like
- 15:35Speaker 1: the only person that I knew right just didn't really
- 15:38Speaker 1: mostly know herk as a crag. So what's going on
- 15:42Speaker 1: in Summerhouse that you would like to speak on?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Well, I would just say it's like two factions. You've
- 15:46Speaker 2: got young people who are in the prime of their
- 15:49Speaker 2: life in terms of social life and having a great
- 15:51Speaker 2: old time. And then you have this old married couple
- 15:53Speaker 2: who is unbelievably unhappy and on the on the brink
- 15:56Speaker 2: of divorce.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Old like they're in their forties.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yeah, well maybe Amana is in her thirties, but Kyle's
- 16:02Speaker 2: like forty two. But then you know, and then you
- 16:05Speaker 2: juxtaposition with like a twenty eight year old who just
- 16:08Speaker 2: wants to go to a bar, get wasted and be
- 16:12Speaker 2: hungover the next morning. They are total totally different phases
- 16:15Speaker 2: of life. And then in the middle it's this you know,
- 16:18Speaker 2: long suffering wife Amanda, who I think looks to them
- 16:23Speaker 2: from the window. She's like sitting in the window looking
- 16:25Speaker 2: outside at a pool party. I want to go join
- 16:29Speaker 2: the party, but my husband's in the shower and I
- 16:31Speaker 2: have to talk to him in thirty minutes about the
- 16:33Speaker 2: state of our relationship when all I want to do
- 16:35Speaker 2: is get the hell out of here.
- 16:37Speaker 1: It's kind of like that now sounds fun.
- 16:40Speaker 2: They separated and there is some television show that they
- 16:45Speaker 2: filmed after Summerhouse ended, like the City, which is going
- 16:48Speaker 2: to be even worse than watching this because now you
- 16:51Speaker 2: don't even have the fun people on the side of
- 16:53Speaker 2: wh in the pool party.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 16:55Speaker 2: And I guess it's filmed with Carl's X who has
- 16:58Speaker 2: a baby now, So I just don't think that's going
- 17:00Speaker 2: to be super exciting. Okay, Now, Kyle, there was a
- 17:04Speaker 2: rumor a couple of days ago that West, who is
- 17:08Speaker 2: super hot and funny and normal and cool, that he
- 17:11Speaker 2: and Amanda were hooking up. I think Dumois put it
- 17:14Speaker 2: out and people within the Bravo sphere went absolutely shit.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I don't think they probably did, I don't. I just don't.
- 17:22Speaker 2: And then Kyle was asked about it. I't watched What
- 17:24Speaker 2: Happens Live last night? Yeah, and he was diplomatic, but
- 17:27Speaker 2: in terms of whether or not his infidelity, which was
- 17:33Speaker 2: I would assume pretty prevalent, yes, rampant from the very
- 17:39Speaker 2: beginning too, Like I think she knew he was a cheater,
- 17:41Speaker 2: but still maybe you got married to him because one
- 17:43Speaker 2: of two things she thought he would change, never will
- 17:46Speaker 2: ladies and number two probably dangling the carred of will
- 17:50Speaker 2: have this on the television show and you know, blah
- 17:52Speaker 2: blah blah. People get sucked into that. So he was
- 17:55Speaker 2: asked kind of like, do you think that your infidelity
- 17:57Speaker 2: created problems in this marriage? Okay, is the sky blue?
- 18:01Speaker 2: Is the pope Catholic? Sure, but Kyle kind of acknowledge
- 18:05Speaker 2: of it. But he also said, I am now a
- 18:07Speaker 2: proponent of living with someone before you get married. And
- 18:11Speaker 2: what he means by that was he got married to
- 18:14Speaker 2: her he thinks she's a slob, Like there's shit all
- 18:18Speaker 2: over their apartment and she's lazy and doesn't pick it up. Okay,
- 18:22Speaker 2: when he doesn't factor in is he's been cheating on
- 18:25Speaker 2: her from the beginning and she's probably depressed and that's
- 18:27Speaker 2: why she smokes weed all day and doesn't use a vacuum.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Uh huh. So there you go. That's it.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Very interesting. I'm always interested in people that live with
- 18:36Speaker 1: somebody that is just such a slob.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And then well I know you don't, and I'm a
- 18:42Speaker 1: messy but I'm not a slob, but I do. I'm
- 18:46Speaker 1: always surprised that people who have a level of just
- 18:50Speaker 1: regular money don't have somebody come in twice a week
- 18:56Speaker 1: and just be that person that just picks up all
- 18:58Speaker 1: the shit and throws the laundry in and just spruces
- 19:01Speaker 1: it up like every three days.
- 19:03Speaker 2: But I also find there are people that don't. They
- 19:06Speaker 2: look at they look at mess and they're like, what
- 19:09Speaker 2: are you talking about? That is clean? But I mean,
- 19:12Speaker 2: in fairness, I was brainwashed and boarding school too. It
- 19:16Speaker 2: was like a military school where I had to do
- 19:18Speaker 2: chores and like dust heaters and all of that. So
- 19:21Speaker 2: I don't think I can ever like turn that volume down.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting and a lot of like really artistic
- 19:27Speaker 1: people are messy. Like my sister's artistic and she's messy
- 19:32Speaker 1: and like her office is like whoa, like whoa episode
- 19:37Speaker 1: of Hoarders whoa. But then you know she does probably
- 19:41Speaker 1: once a quarter have her organizers come in. They sit
- 19:44Speaker 1: with the mess, they fix it, they fix it all up.
- 19:47Speaker 1: It's good till the next quarter and they come in
- 19:49Speaker 1: and they do it again. She's just like, I know
- 19:51Speaker 1: that this is a problem. And other people don't want
- 19:54Speaker 1: to look at it. She just keep it to the
- 19:57Speaker 1: areas that other people don't see. So that's good. Okay,
- 20:01Speaker 1: summer House, Okay, so let's talk about Southern charm just
- 20:05Speaker 1: a little bit. So I have been It's hard for
- 20:10Speaker 1: me to say this, but I've been a little impressed
- 20:12Speaker 1: with Shep this season. And I know you're friendly with Shep,
- 20:16Speaker 1: but I've also had an interaction with him that was
- 20:19Speaker 1: left me rattled and grossed out. I'm not one of many,
- 20:26Speaker 1: but I do think this season that he is trying
- 20:29Speaker 1: to keep the gang together, keep it, you know, copasetic,
- 20:36Speaker 1: because Craig and Austin hate each other and I don't
- 20:40Speaker 1: know if they will ever be friends again. I think
- 20:44Speaker 1: there's so much damage there, and I think eighty percent
- 20:48Speaker 1: of the problem is Craig's lying and drinking. I think
- 20:52Speaker 1: I think Craig fully doing a whole thing last season
- 20:55Speaker 1: of like, I'm an addict. I can't go out all
- 20:57Speaker 1: the time. I know you want me to be your
- 20:59Speaker 1: buddy that go out and drinks, but I can't do
- 21:01Speaker 1: that because I'm an addict. To this season to being like,
- 21:04Speaker 1: what's wrong with going out and drinking all the time?
- 21:06Speaker 1: I'm single, you wish you were single? Like what are
- 21:09Speaker 1: you the same person? Like?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Right?
- 21:12Speaker 1: And what Melissa said, your bish therapist, She was like,
- 21:15Speaker 1: nobody seems to be grasping here that Craig said. Last
- 21:18Speaker 1: season he's an addict and he can't drink, and this
- 21:20Speaker 1: season he's out partying. Nobody's saying like, hey, my friend
- 21:23Speaker 1: had a relapse.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I think he's sort of like a Mary Cosby where
- 21:27Speaker 2: everyone's sort of like afraid of getting into a fight
- 21:30Speaker 2: with him. Yeah, it kind of just like you walk
- 21:34Speaker 2: on eggshells. And I think he's like one of the
- 21:37Speaker 2: I think he's like Kyle, where he like wants to
- 21:39Speaker 2: remind you all the time, like I've been here from
- 21:42Speaker 2: the very beginning. You need to follow my lead. I know,
- 21:44Speaker 2: you know, I'm the reason you're all here, you know
- 21:48Speaker 2: kind of thing. Does he feel that deep in his body? Maybe,
- 21:51Speaker 2: but I think it's but it's only accentuated with the
- 21:54Speaker 2: drinking and whatever. I don't know what other stuff, but
- 21:57Speaker 2: you know, the worst part of somebody is the even
- 22:01Speaker 2: worse when they're drinking. And I think that. And then
- 22:05Speaker 2: I had Witner, who's on the show on my podcast
- 22:08Speaker 2: today and I asked him about like what do we
- 22:11Speaker 2: need to know about that meltdown? And he said, like
- 22:13Speaker 2: in this yeah, he's obviously been drinking all day in
- 22:17Speaker 2: the heat, Like that doesn't help things. But he said
- 22:20Speaker 2: he's also when we were filming this, like deep into
- 22:25Speaker 2: the pain of like the breakup with Page. And I
- 22:29Speaker 2: think the part of that too is we forget that
- 22:33Speaker 2: these reality stars think of themselves as brands, right, and
- 22:37Speaker 2: he thought of himself as this like co brand, and
- 22:41Speaker 2: now his ex while he's filming this show, is dating
- 22:46Speaker 2: somebody who's bigger, better, better maybe in the public perception.
- 22:51Speaker 2: She's getting so many unbelievable opportunities. She's on the red
- 22:56Speaker 2: carpet of the Vanity Fair, you know, oscar party, she's
- 23:00Speaker 2: getting commercials, she's getting that, and he is still on
- 23:04Speaker 2: the same show. So a lot of that is projection,
- 23:06Speaker 2: I think too, with Austin, like what have you done
- 23:08Speaker 2: in the last five years? I think he's really just
- 23:11Speaker 2: projecting his own insecurities because here's the woman that he
- 23:15Speaker 2: thought he would marry and she's left him, and she's
- 23:17Speaker 2: basically alluding to him being a nightmare, right yeah, oh yeah,
- 23:21Speaker 2: And he's drinking, which he feels terrible about deep down
- 23:25Speaker 2: because he knows he probably shouldn't be doing it. It's
- 23:27Speaker 2: like a cauldron of things.
- 23:29Speaker 1: M that's all true, I do. I think it is
- 23:35Speaker 1: interesting to sort of and we saw this with lu
- 23:38Speaker 1: Anne as well, to sort of announce, you know, I'm
- 23:42Speaker 1: an addict. I can't drink da da da da, and
- 23:44Speaker 1: then the next season be like, no, I never said that,
- 23:46Speaker 1: everything's fine.
- 23:48Speaker 2: You know. Actually it makes me sad.
- 23:50Speaker 1: It's very sad. It's very sad. There's somebody else that
- 23:53Speaker 1: did that exact same thing. I'm trying to remember who.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Well. I think a lot of people beg the question
- 23:57Speaker 2: can you be sober on a reality show? I mean,
- 24:00Speaker 2: there was a lot Leah McSweeney and Bravo about this
- 24:04Speaker 2: very same thing is that she feels like, you know,
- 24:07Speaker 2: they made it seem like you can't be sober on
- 24:10Speaker 2: a reality show, but you can.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And she was you know what I mean, I know that,
- 24:16Speaker 1: but I.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Think people feel like saying this too, because I remember
- 24:20Speaker 2: Bronwin said to me after she became sober, she said,
- 24:25Speaker 2: I'm just I'm afraid no one is going to find
- 24:29Speaker 2: me interesting anymore. Like in reflection years later, she's like, oh,
- 24:32Speaker 2: my gosh, that was like such a big deal for me.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Is she in her mind? She thought, oh my god,
- 24:37Speaker 2: I'm so much fun to be around with. I was like,
- 24:39Speaker 2: you're actually a nightmare.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Yeah, But for her a little.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Bit of time to kind of like shift that perspective.
- 24:44Speaker 2: But her immediate worry was, well, like, I'm not going
- 24:48Speaker 2: to have a job because I'm not interesting enough or
- 24:51Speaker 2: funny or enough for TV.
- 24:53Speaker 1: But so you think it's somebody like Margaret who's never
- 24:56Speaker 1: had a drink.
- 24:57Speaker 2: True, absolutely, you know what I mean.
- 24:58Speaker 1: And she's great tell vision, great TV. So I mean,
- 25:02Speaker 1: it definitely can be done. It just has to be
- 25:05Speaker 1: a present that you're setting when you get there. Right.
- 25:08Speaker 1: If you're lu Anne and you're falling in the bushes
- 25:10Speaker 1: and you're super fun with your friends and then you're
- 25:12Speaker 1: sober for a season, she was still interesting to me.
- 25:19Speaker 1: And then when she came on Ultimate girlsrip was a block.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I'm drinking wine because I'm in Thailand, Darling. Oh okay,
- 25:25Speaker 1: well I didn't realize that the rules of alcoholism don't
- 25:28Speaker 1: apply in another country. But you know, and then it's
- 25:31Speaker 1: not a dress, which is just gives people things to
- 25:34Speaker 1: talk about when it should be addressed. But I don't know.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know how he got off
- 25:39Speaker 1: on that, but Craig, I hate seeing him like drunk
- 25:44Speaker 1: and sweaty.
- 25:44Speaker 2: And maybe, by the way, I just want to say, yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 2: it's only because he said I have addiction issues. Yeah,
- 25:52Speaker 2: the otherwise I have no idea what somebody's sobriety is.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Like I know that someone's totally person, no issue, but
- 26:01Speaker 2: they're saying is that he And by the way, brave
- 26:06Speaker 2: to brave of him for saying that, because I think
- 26:08Speaker 2: that you know, when you're on a reality show, you
- 26:10Speaker 2: kind of two things can be true at one time.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Your ego kind of can be out of control, but
- 26:17Speaker 2: you could also be the most insecure version of yourself too.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I agree. Without that, I would never be
- 26:23Speaker 1: on here talking about people's drinking and whatnot if they
- 26:26Speaker 1: hadn't brought it up. Like I have so much to
- 26:28Speaker 1: say about the Kieren yougre thing because I'm just with
- 26:30Speaker 1: my mouth open, like, lady, what you know.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I will remember that, Yeah, she had like a lot
- 26:36Speaker 2: of drinks that night, right.
- 26:38Speaker 1: The the Karen and the interview and the denial of
- 26:41Speaker 1: it all. Lady you went to jail you got five
- 26:44Speaker 1: DUI's like, come on, and she's like, well, I don't
- 26:47Speaker 1: like to say I'm an alcoholic. I like to blah
- 26:49Speaker 1: blah blah, and I like to go to n A
- 26:50Speaker 1: and not a A. And You're like, huh yeah, So anyway,
- 26:55Speaker 1: that's just that's just another hole to go down. But
- 27:00Speaker 1: so other charm. I'm interested in it, the Charlie and
- 27:04Speaker 1: Sally of it all. It is pretty interesting to me
- 27:09Speaker 1: in that Sally bugs, like she's a pick me. She bugs,
- 27:14Speaker 1: But it's interesting that they're all like, we told you, Charlie,
- 27:17Speaker 1: and you did it anyway, But it's a lesson she
- 27:19Speaker 1: had to learn herself. You know.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Somebody can be very charming and you kind of sometimes.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Well, Sally wanted Greg like bad, yeah yeah, but I
- 27:29Speaker 1: think she just wants somebody.
- 27:31Speaker 2: He's cute. I mean, I get it.
- 27:33Speaker 1: He's very good looking, yeah, very good better looking than
- 27:36Speaker 1: Austin to me, I think.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I think Austin's more charming, though.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I'd rather have a conversation with Austin probably.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Now the Winner thing, I know you said you
- 27:48Speaker 1: had an interview out with him. I'm fascinated by Whitner
- 27:50Speaker 1: because he is tall, good looking, has a job, has
- 27:54Speaker 1: a home, has a dog, has a nice family. Jimmy
- 27:56Speaker 1: Buffett was his uncle. He's rich, rich, rich, and none
- 27:59Speaker 1: of the girl.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Well, he says, he's not rich or trich. He says like,
- 28:03Speaker 2: I'm not a trust fun kid, like I gotta work.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Well, we get that he works. We see him.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I asked some of the how do you go?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I'm just astounded that an attorney would go on a
- 28:14Speaker 2: reality TV show, And he said, I think I came
- 28:16Speaker 2: around to it because obviously he went to he went
- 28:20Speaker 2: to law school with Craig, and Craig was close with
- 28:24Speaker 2: Witner's sister. In fact, like took the sister as a
- 28:27Speaker 2: date some onto some dance or something. So he's known
- 28:30Speaker 2: Craig forever from from law school, and he's known Shep
- 28:34Speaker 2: even I think before that, because their families kind of crossover, right, right,
- 28:38Speaker 2: So the idea of him coming on the show predates
- 28:41Speaker 2: a lot. Yeah, However, he said, I kind of came
- 28:43Speaker 2: around to it for two reasons. One, I'm older, he's
- 28:46Speaker 2: thirty six now, and he also, in addition having this
- 28:49Speaker 2: law practice, he started this other business with a friend
- 28:52Speaker 2: and he thought, Okay, maybe that would be good you know,
- 28:54Speaker 2: to kind of got to promote that. And you know,
- 28:59Speaker 2: the thing is, though he's very like like an trained attorney,
- 29:03Speaker 2: you know, the sees both sides of the coin, so
- 29:05Speaker 2: he's not over the top, like he's always trying to
- 29:09Speaker 2: like come up with a solution. So it makes him
- 29:11Speaker 2: kind of out in the sidelines a lot. He also said,
- 29:14Speaker 2: it's hard to date there. I think that there's like
- 29:17Speaker 2: a big age disparity. It's like, you know, a lot
- 29:20Speaker 2: of young women there because of like College of Charleston. Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 2: but like everybody gets married so young there that like
- 29:28Speaker 2: once you're like in your thirties, you're sort of like, well,
- 29:31Speaker 2: what's wrong with you?
- 29:32Speaker 1: Well, it's better than fucking Ravenel, who's you know in
- 29:35Speaker 1: his probably totally.
- 29:36Speaker 2: And he also I also asked him, is it hard
- 29:38Speaker 2: to date now that you're on the show. Are you
- 29:40Speaker 2: second guessing? Like, well, what is this about? He said, yeah, lately,
- 29:43Speaker 2: I've really been feeling that a lot. And also he
- 29:46Speaker 2: said his two sisters are mortified that he's on the show,
- 29:51Speaker 2: and it's actually created a lot of problems.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Well, his parents seem to be fine with it.
- 29:54Speaker 2: They see he said, they're Yeah, but it.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Was interesting when he was on Watch What Happens Live,
- 30:00Speaker 1: and he was like, well, I've no Witner for years,
- 30:01Speaker 1: because of course Andy's good friends with Jane and Jimmy Buffett,
- 30:05Speaker 1: and I would see Whitner around be like, when you're
- 30:07Speaker 1: coming on the show? When are you coming on the show.
- 30:09Speaker 1: But I just don't understand why none of the girls
- 30:11Speaker 1: are going for Whitner when he seems to have all
- 30:13Speaker 1: this stuff going for him and isn't a fall down drunk.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Because he's an asshole, because he's not like, he's not
- 30:22Speaker 2: like powerful with a big Instagram. I gotta you know,
- 30:26Speaker 2: we gotta don't forget. Like that's kind of like the
- 30:29Speaker 2: problem with Southern charm is. I feel like part of
- 30:31Speaker 2: the reason Sally's like a pick me is she wants
- 30:34Speaker 2: to be page two point zero. I want to be
- 30:37Speaker 2: like influencers and have a big followings. And he's just
- 30:40Speaker 2: not like that. He's not like very self I think
- 30:43Speaker 2: it's probably really hard for him to promote this T
- 30:45Speaker 2: shirt business that he is with his friends. He's not
- 30:47Speaker 2: very self promotional. And then I asked him about the
- 30:49Speaker 2: fame stuff and he's like, I mean, these are the
- 30:53Speaker 2: reality stars, Like we're no one like I've been around
- 30:55Speaker 2: big time stars, like it's very easy to keep yourself
- 30:58Speaker 2: in check when you remember, or like these are just
- 31:01Speaker 2: reality stars. So he's probably a little bit of a
- 31:04Speaker 2: buzzkill for somebody who's like, let's go out and we
- 31:06Speaker 2: can be a we can be like a couple like
- 31:08Speaker 2: Page and Craig.
- 31:10Speaker 1: We'll find a different girl. I don't know. I just
- 31:12Speaker 1: am always like, why aren't all the girls going for Whitner.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I don't get it because I don't. I don't think
- 31:16Speaker 1: the girls on that show want to be with like
- 31:18Speaker 1: a normal guy, just any girl, any nice, normal thirty
- 31:23Speaker 1: ish age appropriate.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I'm sure there are girls that are trying to go
- 31:26Speaker 2: out with him. He just doesn't talk about it, Okay,
- 31:29Speaker 2: maybe sad like your son wouldn't talk about it either.
- 31:33Speaker 2: He would tell me, he would tell you, but he
- 31:35Speaker 2: wouldn't be on TV going I got these girls and
- 31:38Speaker 2: they're all over me. That's not his son.
- 31:40Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, he wouldn't. If he ever
- 31:42Speaker 1: said that, he would be like joking.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Nor would my son, my son's fourteen, but he wouldn't either.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Okay, Beverly Hills. This week, I was interested in Erica
- 31:54Speaker 1: Jane talking to her therapist about she was talking about
- 32:00Speaker 1: the abuse, but I the money mess with Tom and
- 32:04Speaker 1: you know, she hasn't talked about it in details, and
- 32:05Speaker 1: she talks about how she handled it in the past,
- 32:07Speaker 1: which is awful. We all can agree that she was
- 32:10Speaker 1: terrible about that and because of her shock and you know,
- 32:14Speaker 1: just the situation, and she was saying, you know, he
- 32:19Speaker 1: left me with this ten million dollar bill and I've
- 32:21Speaker 1: got twenty five million worth of lawsuits against me, like
- 32:25Speaker 1: that is so overwhelming to think about. No matter what,
- 32:31Speaker 1: you can have Witner, Jimmy Buffett money, and still that's
- 32:34Speaker 1: a lot of That's a lot to think about it.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I was very interested to hear her sort of openly
- 32:41Speaker 1: saying like I'm just tired, Like yeah, yeah, you think
- 32:44Speaker 1: I wonder why I'm not going to see this asshole,
- 32:47Speaker 1: Like look at this mess.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I wish she was like that from the beginning. But
- 32:50Speaker 2: I guess if you live in survival mode your whole life,
- 32:53Speaker 2: it's hard for you to turn that volume down too.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And I do hope that she's got this new, nice,
- 32:59Speaker 1: normalish boyfriend that'll maybe keep her grounded. I don't know why,
- 33:05Speaker 1: you know, even when she was being an asshole, I'm like, well,
- 33:08Speaker 1: she's entertaining, you know.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess I feel like she needs to be
- 33:15Speaker 2: off TV, but she really needs the income.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Not gonna happen. I thought the scene with Rachel and
- 33:22Speaker 1: her kids was interesting talking about the divorce, and you
- 33:25Speaker 1: could tell the older one, you know, because of the
- 33:28Speaker 1: kid's ages and us being familiar with that, you could
- 33:30Speaker 1: tell that the older one was not going to like
- 33:32Speaker 1: engage so much in the conversation as the younger one
- 33:34Speaker 1: would because it's on TV. But it was interesting that
- 33:37Speaker 1: they were He was sitting there and they were like, oh,
- 33:40Speaker 1: you just don't love dad anymore. And she was like no,
- 33:43Speaker 1: it was interesting, you know. She was like it became
- 33:45Speaker 1: news and the older kids like that's wild. It was
- 33:47Speaker 1: in the news, Like.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know I feel about it. I'm kind
- 33:51Speaker 2: of mixed because I'm thinking about ten years from now,
- 33:54Speaker 2: this kid, these kids are going to be like to me,
- 33:57Speaker 2: really have to talk about that on camera because now
- 33:59Speaker 2: I'm asked about it all the time, And now I'm
- 34:01Speaker 2: twenty five years old and I'm just trying to start
- 34:03Speaker 2: my career.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I don't know. I think they live in such a
- 34:06Speaker 1: different world, Kate. I think they live in such a
- 34:08Speaker 1: world of they've always had these famous parents, and they've
- 34:12Speaker 1: always had this, you know, and they might hang out
- 34:15Speaker 1: with a lot of other kids that also have parents
- 34:17Speaker 1: in the spotlight, and that's sort of more normal for
- 34:20Speaker 1: them than it would be for other people. You know. Yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 1: that's my thought process. But I thought it was interesting.
- 34:27Speaker 1: And I think that she seems to have a good
- 34:29Speaker 1: relationship with her kids.
- 34:30Speaker 2: And she seems like a good mom.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, And I thought it was fascinating that she's like,
- 34:35Speaker 1: my husband's been with this other woman, you know, for
- 34:37Speaker 1: a while, never brought this woman around the kids ever.
- 34:42Speaker 1: And then when the one kid's going to camp and
- 34:45Speaker 1: dad's you know, coming to say goodbye, and then he
- 34:47Speaker 1: brings this woman and he's like, who's this stranger, I'm
- 34:50Speaker 1: leaving to go to camp for a month.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I would assume her fear is it's a
- 34:56Speaker 2: slippery slope, Like it begins with the oh, this is
- 34:59Speaker 2: my friend Alyssa. I don't know what her name is,
- 35:02Speaker 2: and in a very short time, after all of a sudden,
- 35:05Speaker 2: they're being forced to live with her. Maybe she has
- 35:08Speaker 2: kids too, and then their entire safety of their home
- 35:12Speaker 2: and feeling like their home is theirs becomes this stranger's home.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's it's I thought it was interesting.
- 35:20Speaker 1: She's like he had always been doing the right thing
- 35:22Speaker 1: and never brought this woman around, or you know, we
- 35:24Speaker 1: agreed we would talk to each other about it first,
- 35:27Speaker 1: and then he just brings her to say goodbye at
- 35:29Speaker 1: camp drop off.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It could be that lady going, well, yeah, you know,
- 35:34Speaker 2: where am I what's going on? Like are we going
- 35:36Speaker 2: to live together? When? Am I gonna meet your kids?
- 35:38Speaker 2: And then suddenly the agreement that he had with Rachel's
- 35:41Speaker 2: thrown out the door, and he's trying to make this
- 35:43Speaker 2: woman happy. Maybe he's afraid she's gonna leave home or something.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy too. You think about like the two
- 35:49Speaker 1: of them been together since college. Yeah, and he's going
- 35:53Speaker 1: to jump right into another relationship. It seems he'd pull
- 35:56Speaker 1: a Mauricio and just go catting around with whoever.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Sure, Rachel's like, who are you? I thought I
- 36:02Speaker 2: knew who you were. It was sad.
- 36:04Speaker 1: It was interesting too, about her bringing in her family
- 36:06Speaker 1: to say like they've loved him like a child and
- 36:10Speaker 1: they are devastated by what he's done. You know, that's
- 36:13Speaker 1: an interesting aspect that we don't always see on these shows, right,
- 36:16Speaker 1: we don't see we don't see the Mauricio and Kyle
- 36:20Speaker 1: the other side of it, where their families are so close,
- 36:23Speaker 1: and that's.
- 36:24Speaker 2: In their Jewish family, and my Jewish friends have such
- 36:29Speaker 2: tight relationships with their parents and their in laws.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Like Relio or a Jewish family too.
- 36:34Speaker 2: You're right, but I feel like, well, she converted. I
- 36:39Speaker 2: find that the families like it's to both families are Jewish,
- 36:43Speaker 2: like anevibly all hear oh, our parents are best friends
- 36:46Speaker 2: and they go on vacations together. And I always laugh
- 36:49Speaker 2: about that. I'm like, oh my gosh, like Protestants, that
- 36:51Speaker 2: would never happen.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Nice.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I think it's very very intertwined. And so it's that's
- 36:56Speaker 2: so painful because this husband, her husband was so so
- 37:02Speaker 2: much a part of their lives. Again, you're looking at
- 37:04Speaker 2: someone like I thought I.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Knew you, right, and then the parents would be like
- 37:09Speaker 1: we thought we And now you're acting like this, and
- 37:12Speaker 1: you've got these kids who don't want to be around you,
- 37:14Speaker 1: like when did this happen? And you feel like this
- 37:16Speaker 1: person that has been at your table for thirty years
- 37:19Speaker 1: is a total stranger.
- 37:21Speaker 2: You know, also very hard to be the Antillery family members,
- 37:26Speaker 2: and I've been there before, trust me, where you have
- 37:30Speaker 2: to be very careful to never say anything negative about Yes,
- 37:34Speaker 2: the children's parents.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Absolutely, you have to keep.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Your feelings to yourself and you do not burden a
- 37:41Speaker 2: child with your feelings about their parents.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Yeah, the Kyle and Jeripe thing, I kind of don't
- 37:49Speaker 1: mind them calling each other out. I think it's I
- 37:53Speaker 1: you know, like Kyla calling Bo's and being like she's
- 37:55Speaker 1: got this spending issue, and the Bow's telling Jari like, actually,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I didn't take it as her talking bad about you.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I like I took it as her being concerned about you.
- 38:04Speaker 1: And Dree It's like, well, when she you know, basically
- 38:07Speaker 1: turned lesbian started exercising into tattoos, I didn't say anything.
- 38:12Speaker 1: It's like what you're saying it.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Now, those are two different things, right, Yeah, Like you're
- 38:18Speaker 2: you're transforming into a different version of yourself because you're
- 38:22Speaker 2: having a life crisis, or you are a horder and
- 38:25Speaker 2: you have an addiction issue, a spending issue.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I did. It was when she was at Love
- 38:33Speaker 1: Chef Fantasy in the Hamptons and she spent the five
- 38:35Speaker 1: thousand dollars in the first credit card was declined and
- 38:38Speaker 1: she's like, oh, I have to wait for the code,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you know, because they send you a code to say
- 38:41Speaker 1: was it huge? Oh they didn't send it. Let me
- 38:43Speaker 1: just try another card. I was like, yeah, Peek doesn't
- 38:49Speaker 1: look good.
- 38:50Speaker 2: We never see her really, with the exception of one
- 38:53Speaker 2: scene with Bose. You never really go into Durrey's house.
- 38:56Speaker 2: So if she has a spending problem, I want to see,
- 38:59Speaker 2: like is there the it's full like their boxes outside.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Maybe they aren't. Maybe it's not as bad as it
- 39:05Speaker 2: it's mean to seem, right.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Well I think it was interesting too that Durite
- 39:11Speaker 1: said Kyle is saying, you're basically saying something on camera
- 39:14Speaker 1: that could affect my divorce, right, like by calling out
- 39:18Speaker 1: that I have a spending issue. And that's kind of
- 39:19Speaker 1: what they're doing on this show, is that there is
- 39:22Speaker 1: that they're showing how they live and went to the
- 39:25Speaker 1: Hamptons and they go spend all this money at the
- 39:26Speaker 1: store desk, and then for Kyle to kind of be
- 39:28Speaker 1: calling it out, She's like, that's actually going to be
- 39:32Speaker 1: against me that she says.
- 39:33Speaker 2: It seems she calls her husband an alcoholic, So like
- 39:39Speaker 2: ing alcoholic again, back to our earlier point. Unless somebody
- 39:43Speaker 2: announces that they're an alcoholic, I would not be calling
- 39:46Speaker 2: them an alcoholic.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I believe he did say he had a drinking problem.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Nope. Never Well, when.
- 39:54Speaker 1: They went to that dinner that time where they clearly
- 39:56Speaker 1: hated each other, he wasn't drinking and she's like, do
- 39:59Speaker 1: you mind if I drink? He's like, I don't care.
- 40:01Speaker 1: They talked about AA and the stuff.
- 40:03Speaker 2: He has never said he's an alcoholic.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Well he's out partying now, so there you go.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Does that mean they're an alcoholic? Though?
- 40:12Speaker 1: Uh, it doesn't. But I don't think she pulled that
- 40:17Speaker 1: out of her ass, do you know what I mean?
- 40:19Speaker 1: I think we saw that he has some kind of problem.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I think my opinion that he seems to me to
- 40:26Speaker 1: have some sort of problem. Now, maybe his problem stemmed
- 40:29Speaker 1: from her, you know, maybe he was like, I gotta
- 40:32Speaker 1: eat chips and get drunkcause she drives you crazy.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I don't you know. I'm not a giant PK fan.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I know that you are more of a PK apologist
- 40:42Speaker 1: than I am. I don't enjoy him.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I wouldn't say I'm an apologist. It's just I've heard
- 40:45Speaker 2: his side of the story a little bit more so
- 40:48Speaker 2: I try to look at it from both sides, because
- 40:50Speaker 2: the fortunate part is it's just a woman's point of view. Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 2: and sometimes, you know, I try to be mindful of that,
- 40:58Speaker 2: like you know, the other there is another side of
- 41:01Speaker 2: the coin and all of this. You saw that a
- 41:03Speaker 2: lot when you saw Mauricio's show on Netflix with his daughters,
- 41:09Speaker 2: because and then you're like, oh, well, there is a
- 41:11Speaker 2: whole life outside of just the narrow point of view
- 41:14Speaker 2: of the housewife. Although I love housewives because that point
- 41:18Speaker 2: of view is rarely shown and in any other media form,
- 41:21Speaker 2: like you don't see it in movies. A fifty year
- 41:24Speaker 2: old woman is not really the featured character of a
- 41:27Speaker 2: lot of TV shows and movies. So I do I
- 41:29Speaker 2: love that, but I also know that there is like
- 41:31Speaker 2: the other side of it.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I got to say that Bo's just sort of openly
- 41:38Speaker 1: really hating Amanda is giving me life. I think it's
- 41:43Speaker 1: pretty hilarious. I think it's pretty hilarious. And I go
- 41:47Speaker 1: back to that scene at.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Like corporate life versus you know somebody who like somebody
- 41:55Speaker 2: who's telling you that they're so big, they're such a
- 41:57Speaker 2: big deal in business, and you're like, okay, we're where
- 42:00Speaker 2: are all the articles about you? We're all the client
- 42:03Speaker 2: testimonials that are not like a suburban person who has
- 42:06Speaker 2: like a it's like a personal trainer, like what's your
- 42:10Speaker 2: corporate relevance? I love that because that's anybody who's worked
- 42:13Speaker 2: in corporate America's like, yeah, let's dig into that.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I love the scene and I've brought this up several
- 42:19Speaker 1: times of Bo's and Rachel Zoe and what goes around
- 42:22Speaker 1: comes around. The store in La that I went to
- 42:24Speaker 1: last time I was there had the same salesperson, and
- 42:27Speaker 1: I love the scene of them in that store and
- 42:31Speaker 1: Bose is trying to explain to Rachel what Amanda does.
- 42:33Speaker 1: And these are two like business women, yes, and Rachel's going,
- 42:37Speaker 1: I don't get it, and she goes, she teaches you
- 42:40Speaker 1: how to manifest money and she goes, but I don't
- 42:43Speaker 1: get it. I thought, wait, she's a manifesto. She's like, yeah,
- 42:47Speaker 1: she wrote a book on manifest and she's like, I
- 42:49Speaker 1: don't get it. And it was like who's on first,
- 42:51Speaker 1: Like she's trying to explain it to her. She's like
- 42:53Speaker 1: but how's that her business? And Bo's like, I don't know,
- 42:57Speaker 1: you know, yeah, and seeing.
- 43:00Speaker 2: It's kind of like a preacher telling the congregants like,
- 43:03Speaker 2: if you just pray, all of a sudden, you're gonna
- 43:05Speaker 2: have money in your bank account.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Well there are preachers that say that, and it's horrible. Yeah,
- 43:10Speaker 1: like if you just if you just pray about it
- 43:12Speaker 1: and you just are act right, the money will come
- 43:15Speaker 1: to you. Well, lots of people pray and act right.
- 43:17Speaker 1: And are you know homeless, dead broke? I mean, so
- 43:21Speaker 1: you know, un hoow's you're supposed to say?
- 43:23Speaker 2: Kate?
- 43:24Speaker 1: So I find that super interesting. Okay, did you watch
- 43:29Speaker 1: The Persian Valley?
- 43:31Speaker 2: I haven't watched it in a little bit, so you
- 43:33Speaker 2: need to catch me up. Although I really like the
- 43:35Speaker 2: new cast cast of characters. I find them interesting.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I don't know how many episodes there were, but I
- 43:41Speaker 1: do know that I didn't watch the last three, and
- 43:45Speaker 1: because I was like traveling and stuff and trying to
- 43:47Speaker 1: keep up with work, I didn't get a chance. But
- 43:48Speaker 1: they're on my DVR, so I am going to watch
- 43:51Speaker 1: the last three. I liked it. I speaking of reality gold,
- 43:56Speaker 1: you know, like anity leaks or a phaedra Reza. He's
- 44:00Speaker 1: made for reality TV. He really is. He's great.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I'm still troubled by him saying such awful things to
- 44:08Speaker 2: MJ years ago about terminating and pregnancy. I can't get
- 44:11Speaker 2: past it.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But the I think that
- 44:16Speaker 1: that original Shaws group got so caught up in their
- 44:20Speaker 1: fame and there's being on a show and everything. I
- 44:23Speaker 1: think that a lot of them were taken down mini
- 44:25Speaker 1: pegs when the show was canceled, and I think that
- 44:29Speaker 1: a lot of them had to sort of pull themselves
- 44:32Speaker 1: up by their bootstraps and try to live in the
- 44:35Speaker 1: world not being on reality TV. So I think that
- 44:38Speaker 1: Persian Valley sort of highlighted that a little bit, you know.
- 44:42Speaker 1: And I liked it a lot. I like again, I'm
- 44:46Speaker 1: behind a few episodes, I think three, and they had
- 44:48Speaker 1: the finale. But I did like the cast. I liked
- 44:53Speaker 1: the good looking guys. I like the one I've had
- 44:56Speaker 1: the interesting story about his wife had passed.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Away, so I interviewed it's lovely, Yeah you know his wife. Yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I liked them a lot. So if you guys don't know,
- 45:07Speaker 1: if you live under a rock, Kate has a substack
- 45:10Speaker 1: called what to watch this week? Yeah, to watch lists.
- 45:14Speaker 1: You can see it on reels, you can see it
- 45:17Speaker 1: on TikTok, you can see everywhere. You can subscribe.
- 45:19Speaker 2: It's very important that people do that. Like, oh, you
- 45:22Speaker 2: just go to Kateksey dot substack dot com and you
- 45:26Speaker 2: just put your email in it because you get every
- 45:28Speaker 2: week you get that list. But I also have like
- 45:29Speaker 2: lots of other stuff on There are books to recommend. Yeah,
- 45:33Speaker 2: articles I've written.
- 45:34Speaker 1: As you've written, and stuff like that. So tell me
- 45:38Speaker 1: what are we watching? Okay, and then kind of next
- 45:40Speaker 1: week too, because this comes out Thursday.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Well I can tell you about this week right now.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Oh no, okay, here are a couple of things I want
- 45:48Speaker 2: you to watch. Okay. Number one obviously Love is Blind
- 45:50Speaker 2: the Reunion. We're all gonna be watching that, and we're walking.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Can't wait for that. Yeah, okay, three part doc series
- 45:56Speaker 2: on Apple TV Plus. It's called Twisted Yoga. And there
- 46:01Speaker 2: are a group of yoga studios that were throughout Europe.
- 46:07Speaker 2: They had different names, same organization, but different names in
- 46:10Speaker 2: each country and they were all created by this man
- 46:14Speaker 2: named Gregorian Bivalaro or the Or. The practitioners would call
- 46:19Speaker 2: him Greek and he became this like you go, you
- 46:22Speaker 2: go guru figure, and he was from Romania during the
- 46:28Speaker 2: collapse of communism. He created these yoga centers and people
- 46:32Speaker 2: flocked to it because obviously the light in the darkness.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Here's the caveat he and it's like this esoteric it's
- 46:41Speaker 2: like yoga with this esoteric TNTRA aspect to it. So
- 46:47Speaker 2: you're getting women to come in and then they're taking
- 46:50Speaker 2: classes and then they want to be teachers, and it's
- 46:52Speaker 2: this two year process and it's part of the teaching.
- 46:55Speaker 2: You know, once you're comfortable, he's throwing in, you know,
- 46:59Speaker 2: all this TNTRA stuff that you should be doing, and
- 47:02Speaker 2: then you are being pushed to have these sexual experiences,
- 47:07Speaker 2: like all the women have to kind of like hook
- 47:08Speaker 2: up with each other kind of thing. Yes, and then
- 47:11Speaker 2: it turns into oh, but they're talking about him like this,
- 47:15Speaker 2: this figure, like this ball of energy. Well have you
- 47:19Speaker 2: ever met him? Would you be interested in meeting him?
- 47:22Speaker 2: And then it turns into oh, you're gonna be going
- 47:24Speaker 2: to France to get to meet him. And then when
- 47:25Speaker 2: you go there, your your passport's confiscated and then you
- 47:29Speaker 2: have to have sex with them. Oh the other thing
- 47:31Speaker 2: the women would have to like all it was like
- 47:33Speaker 2: almost like an orgy. They would all have to pee
- 47:38Speaker 2: into like a bucket, and then they would take like
- 47:40Speaker 2: a dropper and then you would have to they would
- 47:43Speaker 2: put like little droplets of the pee in your water
- 47:46Speaker 2: to hydrate you because it's a shared you know thing
- 47:52Speaker 2: from everyone's right throw it's bonkers anyway. It's three episodes
- 47:57Speaker 2: because it's because it kind of breaks down like a
- 48:01Speaker 2: true crime series, but it's also kind of experiential because
- 48:06Speaker 2: they all these victims kind of walk through how they
- 48:09Speaker 2: get sucked sucked into it, like a lot of it
- 48:11Speaker 2: does kind of have the feeling of like anxium thing.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it sounds a lot like this podcast
- 48:17Speaker 1: I'm listening to that I just got finished with. I
- 48:19Speaker 1: think it's called Garden of Evil, and it's about this
- 48:22Speaker 1: Zion cult of Zion that was sort of in these
- 48:25Speaker 1: neighborhoods in Utah, and it was these like super manicured
- 48:28Speaker 1: like Disneyland. Like it was like you would turn the
- 48:31Speaker 1: corner and be like whoa, and did I go into
- 48:33Speaker 1: a theme park? And all the houses look so perfect,
- 48:36Speaker 1: but like one house is where they keep all the weapons,
- 48:40Speaker 1: and another house is where they keep all the food
- 48:42Speaker 1: for you know, six ways. And then there's one leader.
- 48:48Speaker 1: And then of course eventually everybody's gotta being that guy. Yeah,
- 48:53Speaker 1: even the children. Oh boy, wowser's okay. And then they
- 48:57Speaker 1: take the children away from the parents and those children
- 48:59Speaker 1: live in one.
- 49:00Speaker 2: House okay, and then he can go to the house.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, it's an it's similar except their children involved,
- 49:07Speaker 1: which is terrible. But it was all about how it
- 49:11Speaker 1: all got, how they got the guy and how they
- 49:13Speaker 1: got into like but okay, Apple TV twist So Apple.
- 49:17Speaker 2: TV three three episodes is called Twisted Yoga. I really
- 49:20Speaker 2: highly recommend on Netflix Dynasty the Murdochs about Rupert Murdoch
- 49:26Speaker 2: and his three kids. Watching I was like, I know
- 49:33Speaker 2: you thought I'd mean, I know everybody thought that, but no,
- 49:36Speaker 2: this is about the finance and media family. Okay, highly fascinating.
- 49:44Speaker 2: I mean a boy was his wife just a knockout
- 49:48Speaker 2: his first wife and what you went through Anna Tour No,
- 49:51Speaker 2: actually she's the second wife. Prudence was the first second one, Prudence, No,
- 49:55Speaker 2: that was the daughter he was married a first time
- 49:57Speaker 2: that he married Anna Tour who was a model, and
- 49:59Speaker 2: then she had Alauchlann James, and Elizabeth.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 50:02Speaker 2: So it's going to go through the family's history and
- 50:05Speaker 2: then it's like succession. It is succession. Okay, so I
- 50:08Speaker 2: highly recommend that too. I have found that to be
- 50:10Speaker 2: most interesting. Now I haven't watched yet. When people say
- 50:14Speaker 2: it was on my list the expose on the Doctor
- 50:16Speaker 2: Phil show, but it's on the E network, so I
- 50:20Speaker 2: don't know.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I've heard that's good as well. I'm kind of like
- 50:26Speaker 1: I've watched Doctor Phil for all those years, so I
- 50:28Speaker 1: need to watch this show.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I don't know. Well, it's kind of sad too, because
- 50:34Speaker 2: I mean, Oprah put him on a pedestal.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I know. But listen, don't you dare say anything bad
- 50:40Speaker 1: about Mike Queen Oprah. Don't you dare? Don't you dare? Okay, now,
- 50:48Speaker 1: remind everybody about your show again. Where to find your
- 50:51Speaker 1: subseec or with your list all the things, let's.

- 51:34Speaker 2: lived like in the next neighborhood and she is a

- 52:10Speaker 2: your coworkers or whatever, and then you start talking about
- 52:13Speaker 2: the Untold episode that week. They're going to think that

- 52:37Speaker 1: where each week we alternated telling each other an interesting
- 52:41Speaker 1: story and there were stories about our lives. You're just
- 52:43Speaker 1: stories that were like murder stories that we were interested in.

- 53:04Speaker 1: got to get through this. You know, Love is Blind
- 53:07Speaker 1: UK is coming in August.
- 53:09Speaker 2: So, oh, do you think it's going to be as
- 53:11Speaker 2: good as this last season? Because I highly I thought
- 53:13Speaker 2: it was highly entertaining the Ohio. I thought it was
- 53:16Speaker 2: really entertaining.
- 53:17Speaker 1: I can't wait for the reunion. Now while we've been recording,

- 54:04Speaker 1: It is because it's that's thirty minutes of driving to
- 54:07Speaker 1: do a thirty minute practice.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you just sit in the car and you wait. Yeah.

- 55:09Speaker 2: to a life well lived that lines on your face,
- 55:13Speaker 2: lots of friends, it experiences, and you know all the
- 55:16Speaker 2: things that come when you have a life well lived,
- 55:18Speaker 2: the ups, the downs, the pain, the victory, all of it.
- 55:22Speaker 1: I agree with all that. I'm trying to get rid
