  More than silver and gold. Have you ever wanted something
• 0:14
  so badly that you were sure it would finally make you feel
• 0:17
  whole? Maybe it was something you saved
• 0:20
  up for, something you prayed for, or something you thought
• 0:23
  would fix the ache inside. And then you got it, and the
• 0:26
  emptiness was still there. That moment can be confusing,
• 0:31
  even disappointing, but it also reveals something important
• 0:34
  about how God works in our lives.
• 0:37
  Proverbs chapter 10, verse 3 tells us the Lord does not let
• 0:41
  the righteous go hungry, but He thwarts the craving of the
• 0:44
  wicked. God knows the difference between
• 0:47
  real hunger and misplaced craving.
• 0:50
  He knows what will truly sustain your soul, not just what feels
• 0:53
  urgent in the moment. He is committed to meeting real
• 0:56
  needs, not just temporary wants. We see this so clearly in Acts
• 1:00
  chapter 3. There's a man who had been
• 1:03
  unable to walk since birth. Every day he was placed at the
• 1:07
  beautiful gate of the temple, asking people for money.
• 1:10
  That was his routine. That was his survival plan.
• 1:14
  When Peter and John approached him, he expected what he always
• 1:17
  expected. A coin, a handout, a little help
• 1:20
  to get through another day. But what he received was so much
• 1:24
  more. Peter told him he didn't have
• 1:26
  silver or gold, but what he did have he gave him in the name of
• 1:31
  Jesus Christ. The man stood up.
• 1:33
  Acts chapter 3 verses 9 to 10 say that all the people saw him
• 1:37
  walking and praising God, and they recognized him as the same
• 1:41
  man who used to beg at the gate. His entire identity changed.
• 1:46
  He didn't just receive healing in his legs.
• 1:48
  He received a new life, a new future, and a new reason to
• 1:51
  praise God. So often we are like that man.
• 1:56
  We aim our expectations low because that's what we're used
• 1:59
  to. We ask God for quick fixes,
• 2:01
  surface solutions, or small comforts when He is offering
• 2:05
  transformation. We think we need relief, but God
• 2:08
  knows we need restoration. We think we need provision, but
• 2:12
  God knows we need purpose. We think we need approval, but
• 2:15
  God knows we need healing. God is not withholding good from
• 2:19
  you, He is protecting you from settling for less than His best.
• 2:23
  He knows what will truly satisfy you, strengthen you, and bring
• 2:27
  Him glory through your life. And when He moves, the change is
• 2:31
  noticeable. People see it.
• 2:33
  Your story becomes a testimony. Your praise becomes contagious.
• 2:37
  You may not always get what you expect from God, but you will
• 2:41
  receive what you need most. And what He gives will always be
• 2:44
  more valuable than silver or gold.

  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You that
• 2:50
  You see my true needs even when I misunderstand them.
• 2:53
  Forgive me for settling for quick fixes when You are
• 2:56
  offering lasting change. Help me to trust Your wisdom
• 3:00
  over my desires and to believe that what you give is always
• 3:03
  better than what I asked for. Open my eyes to recognize Your
• 3:07
  greater blessings and give me the courage to praise You openly
• 3:10
  and share what You have done in my life in Jesus name, Amen.

  The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers,

  also told of these days. You are the children of the

  prophets and of the covenant which God made with our fathers,

  saying to Abraham, all the families of the earth will be

  blessed through your offspring. God having raised up his

  servant, Jesus sent him to you first to bless you in turning
• 7:51
  away everyone of you from your wickedness.
