League Baseball is actively working to resolve
• 3:53
the logistics for players to participate in the
• 3:56
2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Commissioner Rob
• 4:01
Manfred stated the league is keen on this opportunity
• 4:03
to showcase the game on a global stage. Tony
• 4:08
Clark, director of the Major League Baseball
• 4:11
Players Association, noted that players are enthusiastic
• 4:14
about representing Team USA or other teams. Currently,
• 4:20
only amateur players and those not on the 40
• 4:23
-man roster can compete. Key challenges include
• 4:27
  scheduling conflicts and insurance concerns,
• 4:30
similar to those faced by the National Hockey
• 4:32
League in past Olympics. In local sports, the
• 4:38
New England Patriots are facing a potential training
• 4:40
camp crisis as they prepare for the 2025 season
• 4:44
under new head coach Mike Frable. With much anticipation
• 4:48
surrounding the performance of top rookies, including
• 4:51
left tackle Will Campbell, running back Treveon
• 4:54
Henderson, and wide receiver Kyle Williams, all
• 4:59
eyes are on the team's upcoming camp. However,
• 5:02
  Henderson remains unsigned, complicating matters.
• 5:06
His contract negotiations could mirror those
• 5:09
of Chargers rookie Trey Harris, who was holding
• 5:12
out for a better deal. With approximately $60
• 5:16
million in salary cap space, the Patriots must
• 5:20
act swiftly to secure Henderson and avoid complications
• 5:23
as training camp begins. In top news, extreme
• 5:30
rainfall has flooded much of the United States
• 5:32
in recent days, resulting in at least 130 fatalities
• 5:37
in central Texas. Heavy rains have inundated
• 5:41
New York subway stations, submerged roadways,
• 5:44
and caused deadly incidents in New Jersey. This
• 5:48
July has seen over 1 ,200 reports of flooding,
• 5:51
more than double the average. Meteorologists
• 5:55
attribute the extreme weather to significant
• 5:58
atmospheric moisture from unusually warm oceans,
• 6:01
which is intensifying storms. As meteorologists
• 6:05
noted, global warming changes the odds. making
• 6:09
extreme precipitation more likely as climate
• 6:12
change persists. In business news, U .S. inflation
• 6:18
has re -accelerated, matching expectations but
• 6:21
raising concerns. The consumer price index increased
• 6:25
by 0 .3 % in June, resulting in an annual rate
• 6:29
of 2 .7%, the highest since February, surpassing
• 6:34
the Federal Reserve's target. Meanwhile, President
• 6:38
Donald Trump announced a preliminary trade deal
• 6:40
  with Indonesia, imposing a 19 % tariff on U .S.
• 6:44
exports, while American goods enter tariff -free.
• 6:48
Despite a record close for the Nasdaq composite,
• 6:51
thanks to a significant jump in NVIDIA, other
• 6:54
  indexes fell. Lastly, several cryptocurrency
• 6:58
regulation bills backed by Trump failed to pass
• 7:02
a key hurdle in Congress. In crypto movement.
• 7:06
Bitcoin is unchanged at about $117 ,000. Ethereum
• 7:14
is up 5 % to just over $3 ,100. And XRP is up
• 7:20
  1 % to $2 .89. Moving on to a more local vibe.

Let's talk tech. Introducing the Photon Matrix,
• 8:17
an innovative iron dome for mosquitoes, which
• 8:21
can zap up to 30 mosquitoes per second using
• 8:23
an artificial intelligence -guided laser system.
• 8:27
Invented by engineer Jim Wong. This device detects
• 8:31
and eliminates mosquitoes mid -flight without
• 8:34
harming people or pets. It functions by utilizing
• 8:38
a light detection and ranging module to create
• 8:40
a real -time three -dimensional map, striking
• 8:44
mosquitoes with precision. While the initial
• 8:47
cost is nearly $500, the crowdfunding campaign
• 8:50
has already exceeded $758 ,000. As mosquito -borne
• 8:57
diseases rise, this technology could provide
• 9:00
a much -needed defense. And in entertainment
• 9:06
news, Star Wars fans, get ready. A rare opportunity
• 9:12
to own one of Darth Vader's original lightsabers
• 9:15
is coming your way. This hero lightsaber from
• 9:19
the original trilogy will be auctioned by Prop

• 9:29
Bob Anderson in The Empire Strikes Back and Return
• 9:33
of the Jedi. The auction is set for September
• 9:36
in Los Angeles, with expectations the lightsaber
• 9:39
could fetch as much as $3 million. Prop store
• 9:44
COO Brandon Allender calls it a Grail -level
• 9:47
piece, perfect for elite collections worldwide.
• 9:51
