- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, we've just had the Royal Show and of course
- 0:03Speaker 1: everyone had their fill of Bertie Beatles because they stopped
- 0:06Speaker 1: selling Bertie Beatles in stores a long time ago and
- 0:08Speaker 1: the only place you could get them was the Royal Show.
- 0:10Speaker 2: But now, My Facebook is filled.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I don't know where they got this in my algorithm,
- 0:15Speaker 1: but my Facebook is full of ads saying you can
- 0:17Speaker 1: go online.
- 0:17Speaker 3: It knows more about you than you do.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You can go online and buy all sorts of Bertie
- 0:23Speaker 1: Beetle gift boxes, and that comes with bucket hats and socks.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Well, I guess they're cutting out the middleman, you see.
- 0:29Speaker 2: There's a box for $ 139 with 200 Bertie Beetles in it.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 0:36Speaker 1: The irony about the Bertie Beetle is that it hasn't
- 0:39Speaker 1: tasted the same for years.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Someone's messed with the recipe.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's that shiny chocolate.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 0:46Speaker 4: The sometimes chocolate. You know that it only comes out
- 0:49Speaker 4: at certain times a year?
- 0:50Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's absolutely not the same. But it got us talking
- 0:55Speaker 1: about other discontinued chocolates. Because top of the list for
- 1:00Speaker 1: a couple of us was Cadbury's Time Out.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Oh, Time Out.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Now that.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I didn't realise that had been gone for about 10 years.
- 1:07Speaker 2: 10 years.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Remember this?
- 1:08Speaker 5: Cadbury Time Out is the wafer break with a layer
- 1:11Speaker 5: of flake, all covered in Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate.
- 1:15Speaker 3: So any time is time out time. Time out!
- 1:19Speaker 4: The wafer break with a layer of flake.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I loved a Time Out. That was one of my favourites.
- 1:25Speaker 2: It was a simple chocolate. It's been gone for years. See,
- 1:28Speaker 2: I love a chocolate that's a bit like a biscuit.
- 1:31Speaker 2: but it's not necessarily a biscuit.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I like a chocolate. That's just like a chocolate.
- 1:34Speaker 2: You just like a chocolate. Yeah. What else has got
- 1:36Speaker 2: fan tales? Of course, they went in 23.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That was very controversial.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Chewy chocolatey coated caramels wrapped in movie trivia. New fan
- 1:43Speaker 5: tales from Ellen's.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Eating them is only half the fun. See, apparently they
- 1:47Speaker 3: become uneconomical.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Because they had to sack Beryl, who used to sit
- 1:52Speaker 4: in the room going through all the movie books.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 3: To get all the trivia to put on the wrapper
- 1:56Speaker 3: to put around the lovely chewy chocolate. That made you
- 1:59Speaker 3: talk funny.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Few things have made me feel as old as the
- 2:02Speaker 1: first fan tale I got that had, you know, some.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Pianola music? No.
- 2:06Speaker 5: And it was in black and white?
- 2:07Speaker 2: No, no, no. Some, like, Abigail Breslin.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Stunned Laurel and Hardy?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Some kid actor from, you know, when I was an adult.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I mean, I was used to them being Paul Newman
- 2:17Speaker 1: and Elizabeth Taylor and... Mickey Rooney.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden, it's, you know.
- 2:23Speaker 3: You're aging yourself real bad now.
- 2:25Speaker 1: All of a sudden, it's Felix, the kid from the boy,
- 2:28Speaker 1: from Boy Solo's Universe or something.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So yeah, that was, that was terrible.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But after 93 years on the shelves, that disappeared. What
- 2:35Speaker 1: about White Nights?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Oh, I've dislocated many a jaw on a White Night.
- 2:41Speaker 5: They're gone.
- 2:41Speaker 3: They've been gone a while.
- 2:43Speaker 2: They've been gone since 2016.
- 2:45Speaker 3: This one used.
- 2:46Speaker 5: To be everywhere. But apparently the Polly Waffle is back,
- 3:01Speaker 5: sort of.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It comes and goes.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Well, no, because it's not in its original bar form.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Apparently now it's just Polly Waffle Bites.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Unpopular opinion. Never, never, never liked a poly waffle. Why?
- 3:15Speaker 2: Too airy.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess because it was encased in that biscuit
- 3:19Speaker 4: and then it just had all the, you know, the
- 3:22Speaker 4: foamy white.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Stuff in the middle. Marshmallow.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I didn't even think it was very good marshmallow. I
- 3:26Speaker 1: was never there for a poly waffle.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Quality street.
- 3:30Speaker 3: The quality street tins.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Where's mum going to put her pins and sewing stuff now?
- 3:35Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 3:36Speaker 2: She'll have to get the little. The little Danish biscuits.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Have to hold on to the old Quality Street tin
- 3:43Speaker 3: from ages ago.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I didn't realise that Quality Street had gone. Oh, last year. Okay.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's recent.
- 3:48Speaker 4: So if you've got a Quality Street tin, hold on
- 3:53Speaker 4: to it.
- 3:53Speaker 3: It's collectible. Celebrations. There was a big hoo-ha about celebrations.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, nah, I prefer our favourites.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Well, see, yeah, but you can't get a bounty. Yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 3: but who wants a bounty? Actually, I don't like bounty.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Oh, but they had the little galaxy.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Because I think they used to import it from the UK.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Oh.
- 4:12Speaker 3: And then it got too expensive. Okay. They couldn't get
- 4:14Speaker 3: it through the Strait of Hormuz.
- 4:15Speaker 1: No.
- 4:15Speaker 3: So that's it. Celebrations are gone.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Right up there with the Bertie Beetle.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Thanks, Trump.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Is the little circle Golden Ruff.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Now, it's hard, very hard to get a little circle
- 4:27Speaker 1: Golden Ruff these days. You can still get it in
- 4:29Speaker 1: a block. Nestle do a block of Golden Ruff. I
- 4:33Speaker 1: saw it in Coles yesterday. But can you get the disc?
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:36Speaker 1: You can get a Milky Way disc now, but can
- 4:38Speaker 1: you still get the golden rough disc?
- 4:42Speaker 2: Can you?
- 4:43Speaker 5: 0476 96 96 96.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Do you know the location of where one can get,
- 4:50Speaker 1: in bulk, a golden rough disc?
- 4:53Speaker 3: In search of answers. Chocolates that have been discontinued or.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Some that have just kind of gone to ground, but
- 4:59Speaker 5: they are still around.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Specifically in search, well, me, of the little golden rough discs.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You know, because you can control the number of calories
- 5:08Speaker 1: you're having because you're just having, if you.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Buy a block, it's, you know, it's all over. You
- 5:13Speaker 2: don't buy.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Chocolates that control the calories.
- 5:14Speaker 2: No, but you get, yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 3: You fooling me. Yeah, go on. You convince yourself.
- 5:17Speaker 1: No, it's true. If you buy the block, it's all over.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You know you're going to eat it all. But if
- 5:21Speaker 1: you just have one little disc.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Chris in North Beach.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Hello.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Morning, guys.
- 5:27Speaker 1: How are you?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Good. Do you know where they are? I sure do.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Where are they?
- 5:31Speaker 5: They're Farmer Jack's at North Beach.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Oh, okay. And they also have the mint patties. Oh, okay. Okay.
- 5:39Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Is that not because we've had a text here, Marmion
- 5:44Speaker 4: Street Fresh and Gourmet as well?
- 5:46Speaker 5: It's a corner of North Beach Road and West Coast Highway.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 3: So Nestlé is still making.
- 5:53Speaker 5: The golden rough.
- 5:54Speaker 2: That's only 35 minutes out of my way.
- 5:58Speaker 5: That's easy.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Christine, even though the fuel price is what it is,
- 6:03Speaker 4: Lisa will do that.
- 6:04Speaker 5: She will drive there.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I'll combine it with a little beach walk.
- 6:07Speaker 5: You know everyone knows they've probably shot out.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Oh, no, true.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Oh, thanks, Chris.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Thanks, Christine.
- 6:14Speaker 4: No worries.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Enjoy the rest of your day, guys. You too. No worries.
- 6:20Speaker 5: John.
- 6:21Speaker 4: In June, Dana says, bloody kids used to leave Polly
- 6:25Speaker 4: waffles in my pool.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I get it.
- 6:29Speaker 2: John's watched Caddyshack a few times.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That was a funny scene.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Now it's just Polly waffle bites, John. It's smaller. You
- 6:41Speaker 3: can scoop them out. All right.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:46Speaker 3: That's enough sweet talk.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Now we know where the.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Little discs are so Russell can control his galleries.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I always read the nutritional info on the back of
- 6:58Speaker 4: my chocolate pack.
- 6:59Speaker 2: That could be my specialty on Hard Quiz.
- 7:01Speaker 3: When I have my whip bar. I love my whip bar.
