- 0:03Speaker 1: my head, my, so I got a I got a.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Contusion there on my forehead. Uh So.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It spent a nice Christmas out of town and then
- 0:13Speaker 1: we came home for the New Year, and we traditionally
- 0:16Speaker 1: have a New Year's party at my house and it's
- 0:19Speaker 1: just family for the most part.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Will you do a seafood feast? Yeah, we do that
- 0:27Speaker 2: a lot. That's crab and all of that. He's ersters.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Uh so, so we we did that.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We but but we're getting ready for the party and
- 0:38Speaker 1: uh my wife has decorated some stuff and uh we
- 0:44Speaker 1: had this sitting around the house for a while, and
- 0:46Speaker 1: we've been to hang it from the ceiling, a big
- 0:50Speaker 1: mirrored disco ball probably weighs about five pounds. I think
- 0:56Speaker 1: she got it at d I some time ago, and
- 0:58Speaker 1: we were gonna hang it from the sea so that
- 1:01Speaker 1: which would reflect on the floor and the cat make it.
- 1:04Speaker 1: The cat go crazy so he'd play with the you know.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But but so far it has not been mounted anywhere.
- 1:10Speaker 1: It's just been sitting on a It's been sitting on
- 1:12Speaker 1: the top of an old radio that.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I had, Like, wait a minute, were you going to
- 1:15Speaker 2: mount this, like for the party or just to have
- 1:18Speaker 2: all the time, just to have all the time, so
- 1:21Speaker 2: that the every day disco ball.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so that the cat would play with you know,
- 1:25Speaker 1: a certain time of the day, the cat would play
- 1:27Speaker 1: with the with the reflections on the floor. So we
- 1:32Speaker 1: but it's not been mounted, it's just been sitting around.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And so.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It was sitting on this. I have this old radio
- 1:40Speaker 1: that's a big stand. It's a big piece of furniture.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It's got a lamp sitting on top of it, and
- 1:45Speaker 1: the mirror ball was sitting next to it. And so anyway,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I go upstairs to clean up and come down and
- 1:52Speaker 1: I come down, I've taken a shower, and I come
- 1:55Speaker 1: down and there's this credenza in our dining room and
- 1:59Speaker 1: it has two doors that open. You just pull them
- 2:02Speaker 1: open out towards you so too big, and then there's
- 2:05Speaker 1: some shelves and things in there. You store things, and
- 2:09Speaker 1: then you can close it because it usually looks like
- 2:11Speaker 1: a mess on the inside, so you close the door
- 2:13Speaker 1: so that you know when you have company in it.
- 2:16Speaker 1: So I came down and there was something in there
- 2:18Speaker 1: that I needed, and I see that my wife has
- 2:21Speaker 1: decorated the credenza a little bit. She strung some lights
- 2:25Speaker 1: kind of over the front of the doors, and so
- 2:30Speaker 1: I think, well, I'll just open the door and the
- 2:33Speaker 1: end it'll move that little string of lights aside, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: then i'll put it back. So I opened the door
- 2:38Speaker 1: and something hits me square in the middle of my forehead. Bam,
- 2:45Speaker 1: really hard. It's the five pound mirror disco ball, which
- 2:51Speaker 1: she had away.
- 2:53Speaker 2: She'd put it up on top of the credenza and
- 2:56Speaker 2: used it to hold down that.
- 2:58Speaker 1: String of lights, so that when I opened the door,
- 3:02Speaker 1: the spring of lights pulled the mirror ball forward and
- 3:05Speaker 1: it hit me right in the head.
- 3:11Speaker 3: And I mean it hit me hard. Happy New Year,
- 3:16Speaker 3: the mirror disco ball.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So that's how you started the New Year.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Right in the center of my forehead. I didn't fall
- 3:26Speaker 1: to the ground, but I was stunned. My wife quickly
- 3:30Speaker 1: grabbed a chad shit, Sit down, Sit down, Sit down?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Are you okay? Are you okay? Did you say bad words? No?
- 3:36Speaker 1: You know, I didn't, really, I was so surprised. I
- 3:39Speaker 1: don't think I did anyway.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Berg in the chatroom says, she's trying to home alone.
- 3:44Speaker 1: You my god, And I felt bad too, because after
- 3:49Speaker 1: the mirror ball hit me in the forehead, it of
- 3:53Speaker 1: course fell to the floor and it broke some of
- 3:56Speaker 1: the mirror pieces. And I said, oh, I'm sorry, that
- 4:00Speaker 1: broke the mirror pieces on the back.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I can glue boats back on. Are you okay? I
- 4:06Speaker 2: can glue your head back together too. What a great
- 4:09Speaker 2: What a great way to have a new year.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Now, maybe maybe that means that that's the bad thing
- 4:15Speaker 3: that happened and everything else will be great.
- 4:17Speaker 2: You got it out of the way, right.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Trying to think of anything, No, I've the rest of
- 4:23Speaker 1: the Yeah, I think the rest of the time from
- 4:25Speaker 1: the the thirty first on has been okay.
- 4:28Speaker 2: But geez, what a shock. I just I couldn't.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's that's the only really big significant thing I think
- 4:36Speaker 1: that happened to me over the whole the whole break,
- 4:41Speaker 1: other than well, one other thing. Somebody in my house said,
- 4:47Speaker 1: we were I don't know what we were gonna We
- 4:48Speaker 1: were getting ready to eat something, and and they looked
- 4:52Speaker 1: in the cabinet and they said, hey.
- 4:53Speaker 2: We're out of bowls. Now, We're always out of bowls.
- 4:57Speaker 2: It seems the kids keep them in their room.
- 4:59Speaker 1: No, I mean they're always in the dishwash. And you know,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and what this says to me is that we eat
- 5:05Speaker 1: too much bowl food my family, we eat too much.
- 5:10Speaker 2: We need to start eating more plate food, soups and cereals.
- 5:14Speaker 2: That's what worth. Soups and cereals and goulashes and gumbos.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And how many bowls do you have a lot?
- 5:22Speaker 2: I think I need to count. I need you to
- 5:26Speaker 2: count yours? Over a dozen? Over a dozen, I would
- 5:29Speaker 2: say a lot of bowls.
- 5:32Speaker 1: We're eating too much bowl food because I've got about
- 5:34Speaker 1: that many bowls and there's only two of them.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I was going to donate some bowls you really carry
- 5:40Speaker 2: you only need two of everything.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Probably it seems to me that we I don't know
- 5:44Speaker 1: why we have I bet we have two dozen bowls.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Well, clearly you need them because not enough.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And then the question from a texter is how many
- 5:54Speaker 1: years of bad luck is a broken mirror ball?
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because that's just not one mirror, that's a many mirrors.
- 6:00Speaker 3: It.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So blood was trickling down my forehead and I and
- 6:04Speaker 1: I they got me a band aid and they put
- 6:06Speaker 1: it on, and it was a flesh colored band aid,
- 6:08Speaker 1: and I said, oh no, no, that's not going to do.
- 6:10Speaker 1: We have these blue Cure ad band aids, bright blue ones. Yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 1: And I said I want one of those blue ones.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Oh okay, because you know we're having guests. And then
- 6:19Speaker 1: I said I want you to write. I want you
- 6:21Speaker 1: to write on this band aid. Don't ask. And so
- 6:28Speaker 1: I wandered around the party with a black band aid
- 6:31Speaker 1: that said don't ask.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Nobody asked. They, oh, no, everybody else. And I said,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I'm not telling.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I said, I told you to not ask because I'm
- 6:40Speaker 1: not going to write on the band aid.
