- 0:02Speaker 1: Figs that must go on the radio.
- 0:09Speaker 2: This is a feature where you get to you know,
- 0:12Speaker 2: get things off your chest, as it were. You get
- 0:15Speaker 2: to have yours say things that are bugging you, and
- 0:19Speaker 2: you said that these are things that must go, so
- 0:21Speaker 2: you send them to us. Radio from Hell at X
- 0:23Speaker 2: ninety six dot com. Put muscle on the subject line
- 0:26Speaker 2: of your email. And then and make sure you tell
- 0:29Speaker 2: us whether or not we can use your name. And
- 0:32Speaker 2: if we read yours on the air might make you
- 0:34Speaker 2: feel better. And in some cases these things actually disappear
- 0:37Speaker 2: from people's lives. So it's Radio from Hell at X
- 0:40Speaker 2: ninety six dot com. Put muscle on the subject line.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I'll start today. I have one on my own. The
- 0:46Speaker 2: term nothing burger. That's just a nothing burger. You know
- 0:52Speaker 2: that that I looked it up. Nothing burger was a
- 0:58Speaker 2: phrase coined in nineteen fifty three by Gossip columnist Luella Parsons. Ah, Luella,
- 1:05Speaker 2: and I think since nineteen fifty three it's we can
- 1:09Speaker 2: certainly retire it.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Don't say something is a nothing burger? All right? This
- 1:15Speaker 1: one is from My name is Mark, and you can say,
- 1:19Speaker 1: so what must go?
- 1:21Speaker 2: Is people thinking that I owe them an explanation of
- 1:24Speaker 2: why I look the way I do. I'm obviously disabled,
- 1:29Speaker 2: and you would be surprised by how many people start
- 1:31Speaker 2: a conversation with what happened to you?
- 1:34Speaker 3: Oh? This is our friend Mark?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, I'm not embarrassed by my appearance. I
- 1:41Speaker 2: learned I earned looking like this. I don't mind at
- 1:45Speaker 2: all talking about it. But could you just ask me
- 1:48Speaker 2: my name first?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Perhaps? Yeah? I mean I doubt most.
- 1:52Speaker 2: People would approach somebody and say, hello, random stranger, tell
- 1:56Speaker 2: me about the worst thing that ever happened to you.
- 2:00Speaker 1: People wouldn't do that.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But if someone is in a wheelchair, has an amputation
- 2:05Speaker 2: or visible scarring, somehow, it's okay. Please remember we're people first,
- 2:11Speaker 2: and we deserve to expect courtesy and respect. By the way,
- 2:15Speaker 2: I do have a couple of responses prepared for when
- 2:18Speaker 2: this happens, which are not wholly true, but I think
- 2:22Speaker 2: they're funny, but he doesn't say what they are. I
- 2:25Speaker 2: remember when I first met Mark, and I believe that
- 2:28Speaker 2: we chatted for some time before. I said, do you
- 2:32Speaker 2: mind if I ask you how you got so? You know,
- 2:35Speaker 2: it's obviously burned scars, And he said no, I don't
- 2:38Speaker 2: mind at all and told me the fascinating story. It's
- 2:41Speaker 2: a great story, and really he's a good guy.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Mark.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Let's see this one says Hi, Lords, I just spent
- 2:49Speaker 2: a couple of weeks with my mother in Michigan, and
- 2:53Speaker 2: she's eighty six, and.
- 2:55Speaker 1: She has Fox News blaring all day long every day.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I tried to ignore that horrible rhetoric, but she's practically deaf,
- 3:03Speaker 2: so I really couldn't. The stuff I heard was completely
- 3:06Speaker 2: bat as crazy. I mean, I can't believe people take
- 3:09Speaker 2: what they say on that channel seriously. It was difficult
- 3:13Speaker 2: to maintain my composure, but I did make it through. Luckily,
- 3:16Speaker 2: when I'm home, I can choose to watch literally anything else.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Fox News must go. And that's from I'm.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Telling your parental controls. They'll never figure it out. Lock
- 3:29Speaker 4: them out of all those channels, and they'll figure.
- 3:33Speaker 2: That's from Carrie b you can use my name. And
- 3:36Speaker 2: then finally this one, Hello Lords, thank you for working
- 3:39Speaker 2: your magic. These are a couple from Brent and Zach
- 3:42Speaker 2: if it's not too late to include it today. Number one,
- 3:45Speaker 2: not listening to Katie. Everybody seems to listen to the
- 3:49Speaker 2: don't swear warning, but please stop using speaker phones when
- 3:53Speaker 2: you call, and causing that echo loop when you turn
- 3:55Speaker 2: your speaker up hoping to hear yourself on the radio.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And for the love of God, if you've ever been
- 4:01Speaker 2: described as long winded and need a friend, maybe the
- 4:05Speaker 2: check in platform isn't for you, don't you know? I
- 4:08Speaker 2: need more time to hear Bill yell about Gina's dietary choices.
- 4:12Speaker 2: And number two, family drama needs to go quick trip
- 4:14Speaker 2: to a wedding and my tongue hurts from biting it
- 4:17Speaker 2: as one of my family members as a hot temper,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and the slightest contradictory word or opinion usually ramps them
- 4:24Speaker 2: up to death. Con one without warning back home unscathed,
- 4:29Speaker 2: but it was a gargantuan effort. Thank you, Brent and
- 4:32Speaker 2: sack Gina.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Okay, this is from Let's See Katie. Katie says, thank
- 4:39Speaker 3: you for letting me listen. My Halloween thing that must
- 4:41Speaker 3: go is trunk or treats happening at the neighborhood ward
- 4:45Speaker 3: house during prime trick or treat hours.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Halloween is the best not a year to be out
- 4:52Speaker 3: and about and a perfect opportunity to meet neighbors. Kids
- 4:55Speaker 3: should be out going door to door from five thirty
- 4:57Speaker 3: to seven thirty, not inside. Essentially a private party. Have
- 5:00Speaker 3: your party, but have it at a different time. Take
- 5:03Speaker 3: advantage of the one night year you can ring your
- 5:05Speaker 3: doorbell and meet neighbors without it being weird. Make everyone
- 5:08Speaker 3: work for that candy. Yeah, let's see next we have.
- 5:14Speaker 3: This is a different Katie actually, and she says you
- 5:17Speaker 3: can use my name. My thing that must go is
- 5:19Speaker 3: the plastic tabs holding sock bundle pairs together. They're excessive
- 5:24Speaker 3: and nearly impossible to remove without having to perform a
- 5:27Speaker 3: delicate extraction first with something sharp like scissors, causing more damage.
- 5:31Speaker 3: They often snag threads or even poke holes in the
- 5:33Speaker 3: brand new socks before I have had a chance to
- 5:35Speaker 3: wear them. Is it too much to ask that sock
- 5:37Speaker 3: bundle packaging use fewer fasteners or a more user friendly design.
- 5:41Speaker 3: This must go, thanks Katie. Let's see this from Mindy.
- 5:50Speaker 3: What must go is my spouse giving me unsolicited helpful
- 5:54Speaker 3: suggestions on how to do things. For instance, I was
- 5:57Speaker 3: moving some furniture the other day and he told me
- 5:59Speaker 3: to make sure to lift with my legs and not
- 6:01Speaker 3: my back. Of course I know that, and I was.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Doing exactly that.
- 6:05Speaker 3: He loves to give me suggestions on how to load
- 6:08Speaker 3: the dishwasher, doing laundry, making the bed, driving directions. Hey,
- 6:12Speaker 3: as my dad once told me, if you don't like
- 6:14Speaker 3: how I'm doing it, why don't you do it yourself?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Carry all right?
- 6:19Speaker 4: Two from the foot of Mount Doom. If you're a
- 6:22Speaker 4: single shopper at Costco, you aren't being as helpful as
- 6:26Speaker 4: you think you're being when you park your cart outside
- 6:30Speaker 4: the veggie or milk and egg refrigerated areas to go
- 6:33Speaker 4: inside and grab whatever it is that you need, because
- 6:36Speaker 4: you see, you've left your cart unattended in the doorway
- 6:40Speaker 4: of the frozen area, and we have to stand there
- 6:44Speaker 4: behind your stupid unattended cart waiting for you to come back.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Because there are other shoppers taking up the rest of
- 6:50Speaker 4: the aisle with their carts. There is enough room in
- 6:53Speaker 4: the refrigerated areas they're designed for you to walk through
- 6:56Speaker 4: with your cart. You're not causing any traffic, gamp. Let's
- 6:59Speaker 4: just hold this side on a direction.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And we'll make it through, okay, all right.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Also, if you misjudge how much toilet paper is actually
- 7:08Speaker 4: left on the roll of toilet paper, so you keep
- 7:10Speaker 4: pulling thinking there's just a little bit, you can use
- 7:13Speaker 4: it up. But there's more than you thought there was,
- 7:17Speaker 4: and it's going to be wasteful you use it all.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Now you have to replace the toilet paper roll, throw
- 7:22Speaker 4: away the old toilet paper roll core, and put what's
- 7:25Speaker 4: left over on the count.
- 7:27Speaker 1: These are really big problems. Big problems.
- 7:31Speaker 4: This one from Tony being too fat to fit into
- 7:33Speaker 4: my Spider Man leotard for my freshman year at the U.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Sorry, not being eligible for.
- 7:39Speaker 4: The Centurion Lounge at the Salt Lake International Airport that's
- 7:43Speaker 4: opening soon. It's because I'm basic with my Blue Delta
- 7:46Speaker 4: Sky on my Sky Miles card and don't want to
- 7:49Speaker 4: pay the annual.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Fee, although I saw some pictures of it.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It opened yesterday.
- 7:54Speaker 1: You may want to pay that.
- 7:58Speaker 4: When the sesame seed gets stuck between your teeth and
- 8:01Speaker 4: there's no flaws.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Also, you tough folks who.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Complain about Zoran Mandanmi being Muslim, He's running for office
- 8:09Speaker 4: in a city that's two thousand miles away and won't
- 8:12Speaker 4: bring Sharia law in because he wants New York City
- 8:15Speaker 4: to become an LGBTQA sanctuary city. Ah, yeah, that doesn't
- 8:19Speaker 4: work for your narrative.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I would just say to this this texture or this emailer,
- 8:24Speaker 2: camel's nose, camel's nose.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Under the tent.
- 8:28Speaker 4: This one from Wendy My Halloween Things that must go
- 8:31Speaker 4: are the damn chainsaws at spooky Attractions? How do I
- 8:35Speaker 4: know that they really remove the chain?
- 8:37Speaker 3: What if they forgot? It's a reason last chainsaw guy
- 8:40Speaker 3: that when he comes in.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Here every time I heard one of those things start
- 8:44Speaker 4: up and the joker wielding at revet like like a
- 8:46Speaker 4: hont To two fifty my fight or flight pegs the needle,
- 8:50Speaker 4: just make it go. And let's see this one. Let's
- 8:54Speaker 4: see listening to things that must go on Wednesday and
- 8:56Speaker 4: thinking I'm going to email my things that must go
- 8:59Speaker 4: for next week, but I don't want to send it
- 9:01Speaker 4: too soon because I don't want the email to get
- 9:03Speaker 4: lost and then not being able to remember them Tuesday night.
- 9:08Speaker 3: It won't get lost. Actually, Katie's really good about catching
- 9:11Speaker 3: those as they come in and putting them in a file,
- 9:13Speaker 3: so don't worry about sending them too soon.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Yes, thinks that must go on the radio show
