Transcript
- 0:15You used to me, only now I can never find you in tell the
- 0:28ells of things you never Hey, this is Dale from Revoid. You are
- 0:35listening to hopefully our new single blood Pedals that's just come out recently. Thanks
- 0:39for joining us today, Bray, thanks for having me pleasure say as you
- 0:44say. Avoid only last week released your latest single, Blood Pedals, So
- 0:48I know it hasn't been that long, bro, but how's the early response
- 0:50made? Honestly, it's been really good. It's been really positive considering it's
- 0:54so like we've always been a pretty emotional, pretty serious sort of band,
- 0:58but this is a little bit further out of a wheelhouse the normal, and
- 1:00everyone just loving it, thank God. Like like you say, it's a
- 1:07lot mellower and fans it used to from you guys. So tell us a
- 1:10bit about this song musically, what you're going for and why you decided to
- 1:14release something like this. Yeah, definitely. Well, we've always been about
- 1:19the versatility and stuff and like we like everything. So we've all come from
- 1:23from background, different taste and we sort of want to, I guess,
- 1:26build that into what we write. So this is just I guess something that
- 1:30we all relate to, something that we've all gone through once upon a time,
- 1:33whether it be you know, a loss of a friend, you know,
- 1:36partner, family, anything like that. So I guess we just wanted
- 1:40to get something that really conveyed our feelings and to put everyone else in a
- 1:44bit of a feely mood. And yeah, see see how it goes.
- 1:46I guess. This song also featured Julian Latouche from Inertias guests vocalists. How
- 1:53did that collaboration come about? Well, we we notoriously only go with one
- 1:57producer. That's Mark Williamson from Inertia. Also, he picked us up when
- 2:02we did Cut Me Down way back in twenty nineteen for the twenty twenty release,
- 2:07so we've just been on their on their payroll ever since basically. But
- 2:12Julian pops in every now and again, and we truthfully we always leave a
- 2:16little bit room for his features because he's such a fantastic vocalist and he liked
- 2:21this song enough. Yeah, he just he loved it enough and he believed
- 2:25it enough that he wanted to lay something down on it. And when we
- 2:29heard it, we're like, yeah, this is the this is it.
- 2:31Yeah. The press release mentions the delicately constructed arrangement that allows the dual vocals
- 2:39to shine. Now you elaborate or that means, I'm sure there's a lot
- 2:42of people out there that don't really understand how or what that arrangement could be
- 2:46or how you could construct it. Yeah, no, definitely. So I
- 2:51guess when looking at especially taking on a feature, you're always going to work
- 2:53out how to compliment not only the vocalist voice, but also how to position
- 2:59them in the side vocally, because sometimes when you get a feature, you
- 3:02can either write the song, you can write the part, you can write
- 3:06the lyrics for them, or you can do none of the above. So
- 3:09yeah, just creating an arrange on that suits everyone's best characteristics, and I
- 3:14think, like considering Julian's massive range and his such strong vocal ability, Yeah,
- 3:20we wanted to get him on a part that really let him shine a
- 3:23little bit, more so between when he pops it in and the bridge and
- 3:27then to how he compliments the utro of the song. We just felt like
- 3:30it's short, but it's so so sweet for us, and yeah, that's
- 3:34obviously my favorite part of the song. Yeah. Blood Pedals follows the track
- 3:39Burn with Me, which released back in June Mate. So are they stand
- 3:43alone singles? Were part of a bigger album repeopictures, They are stand alone
- 3:46singles, so we wanted to keep the hype up. We were were brand
- 3:51new the sort of edge year, so we're getting the groundwork for that.
- 3:55At least two were meant stand individually recorded together, so there's a little bit
- 4:02of a duelity. We wanted to hit it heavy and we wanted to hit
- 4:04it soft, just for a bit of a bit of a vibe change and
- 4:09see how we go. But yeah, it is they are just standalone singles
- 4:11at this stage, alright, So it sounds to me like they're a bit
- 4:15of a bridge between the last album Sleeples Still then and then the next EP
- 4:18So how is how is that going to reflect the way you're right for the
- 4:23next one? Is that a lot like sort of setting things up for a
- 4:25slight different path? Definitely, yes. So this EP I guess sleep was
- 4:30Still was what put us on the map a little bit more, especially in
- 4:32the Brisbane scene, and we wanted to basically push push something that made us
- 4:40feel like we fit, we fit in the genre we fit in as a
- 4:43you know, maybe as like a staple of Brisbane metal and stuff like that.
- 4:46So this next EP, this what we're pushing for, even with the
- 4:50singles, is us branching out into what we really wanted to do and I
- 4:55guess a little bit more extreme at both ends. So there's you know,
- 4:59a softer very to some songs on the EP, but also some heavier songs,
- 5:03which is what we wanted to convey with both Burn with Me and Blood
- 5:06Pedals to have a bit of bones. And you guys also recently have supported
- 5:12Daybreaker for their Brisbane show mate Like, it's pretty pretty good efforts. Yeah,
- 5:15that was That was a fantastic show. Yeah, tell us about it,
- 5:20well we are. Honestly, it was so surreal. It was the
- 5:26quickest yes we've ever said to a support show, not only because obviously Dave
- 5:30Zeka like we're huge fans of them, but also finally getting the chance to
- 5:33play alongside our boys in the inert show. It was the ultimate lineup and
- 5:39honestly one of the biggest weekends of our life just hanging out with them and
- 5:43yeah, networking and just meeting meeting your favorites. It's they always say,
- 5:46don't meet your hearers, but it's pretty good sometimes it's speaking of shows made
- 5:54avoid head out with the Motion below and Ghost Complex for dates in Melbourne,
- 5:58Sydney and Brisbane starting on October seventh. Mate, So tell us a bit
- 6:00about that run of shows. Yeah, yeah, absolutely we are. So
- 6:03we're doing a little bit of a show considering these latest two singles combine them
- 6:09together. Called it the Misery Blooms Tour in reference to both songs. So
- 6:13yeah, putting on a little bit of a show. Proven we can get
- 6:15ourselves around the country as much as well as much as the East Coast counts
- 6:19as most of them come true. And yeah, just putting on some shows,
- 6:24gathering some more support before we drop this EP and so we can hopefully
- 6:28take it to the next level. Watch these Emotion below and Ghost Complex to
- 6:31take with you. Honestly, so Motion below. We're huge sweats. We
- 6:36love those guys ever since we played with them at the Future Static show in
- 6:41Melbourne December last year. We were just like, these guys are fantastic not
- 6:45only as people but also as musicians, and like, considering I'm you know,
- 6:49friends with them. I've been hearing a lot of their new material and
- 6:53I can't wait to be a part of it. With them Ghost Complex.
- 6:56We saw them when we played alongside them at in peril Fest twenty twenty two
- 7:01in October, and that was they were just so so tight for one of
- 7:06the earlier bands, and like these bands that you should definitely be higher in
- 7:10the lineup and we absolutely want to do something with you. And the hardest
- 7:13part of this whole tool was, like we like, we like both bands
- 7:15so much, who do we put at the top? Who who put at
- 7:17the bottom? So I left it to them and I'm like, listen,
- 7:21you know, what do you guys want to do because you're both fantastic to
- 7:25us so and yeah, we ended up being with Motion at the top.
- 7:28But by knowings, you know, says the last fantastic bands and really happened
- 7:33on too with them. Right, Good, What do you got planned after
- 7:36that? Maybe you gotta think squared away for recording and stuff. By it,
- 7:40not not much recording, definitely getting some assets sorted for the next project
- 7:45EP that I mentioned. So yeah, we're gonna go a little bit quiet.
- 7:47If any shows pop up, We'll be definitely seeing everybody out there getting
- 7:51around as much as we can, but yeah, a little bit of downtime
- 7:54so we can get out our assets together again every before we let you go.
- 7:59But we've started up three news Spotify playlists based on band as we speak
- 8:03to so using only revoid songs, giving a song for a playlist to get
- 8:07the party started, one for a playlist to save your marriage, and one
- 8:11for a playlist to potentially end your marriage. Gosh, okay, all right,
- 8:18get the party started. Definitely burn with me. Yep. Something to
- 8:22save your marriage would probably be oh god, that's hard actually, because all
- 8:28of our songs they're either existential or just like just yeah, out of that.
- 8:33But one to ruin your marriage quite easily. Blood Pedals for sure,
- 8:39or Poison Saint. That one usually is a good kick in the teeth.
- 8:43If anyone ever gets a shout out about that song, I'd look to the
- 8:48next DP for something to save your marriage, but maybe just noise in my
- 8:54head, just for the vibes that they convey. Beautiful for dale. All
- 8:58right, well, thanks very much for your time. Did I bring this?
- 9:00Blood Pedals is out now and the tour kicks off on October seven,
- 9:03so I'm assuming people and get all the more information from AID socials. Yeah,
- 9:07yeah, please do. There's a link tree. There's all of the
- 9:09above. So go check out our socials and can come come see show yonderful
- 9:13brother. I'll try and make it out at the Brisbane shall I'll check out
- 9:16the dates for the calendar. But if I'm free, I'll pop I'm down
- 9:18and say hi, yeah, man, that'd be fantastic good. I hope
- 9:22to see you there. You used to men only now we can never find
- 9:48you. Tell me all of things you have now to never at all.
- 10:01I can only saw you ever should go from I've ever saw my phone.
- 10:13It's obvious I lost all being away FI days and days on and trying to
- 10:22get your voice out of my heart, Father, my heart, it's always
- 10:31lost. Figure like your fast my cover see before you used to read never

- 11:03we have when I'll send here with me. I can't remember this recross side,
- 11:13my head sinking in my chest. Oh no, that it's all.
