Transcript
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to episode twenty seven of Rebellio for
- 0:15Speaker 1: September eighth, twenty twenty five.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I'm Amy and I'm Nicole, and it is just us today.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Old Tom is off having a grand.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Time gallivanting through London going to the Harry Potter studio tour,
- 0:42Speaker 2: so if we can forgive him for not being here today, but.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess it's okay.
- 0:48Speaker 2: What's not okay though, is he is missing out on
- 0:52Speaker 2: our birthday podcast birthday, Yes.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Our anniversary.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but we are one years old as of Yes,
- 1:07Speaker 2: we're recording this on the six I think it was yesterday.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Our first episode came out September fifth, which is so
- 1:13Speaker 2: crazy that it's about a year so mild.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yes, time flies when you're having fun.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Absolutely, and yeah, thank you to everyone who has fun
- 1:23Speaker 2: with us for this whole journey or has joined us
- 1:25Speaker 2: along the way. We hope you'll stick around for our
- 1:30Speaker 2: second year of life.
- 1:34Speaker 1: And hopefully we have less technical difficulties in year two
- 1:39Speaker 1: than year one.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I mean, based on we're gonna say, based on what
- 1:45Speaker 2: just occurred before we started recording, we are not all
- 1:47Speaker 2: to a great start. So if anything, we are consistent, So.
- 1:52Speaker 1: That's right, there's something to be said for consistency.
- 1:55Speaker 2: This is true. This is true, all right.
- 2:00Speaker 1: So this is kind of a strange episode. As you've noticed,
- 2:04Speaker 1: we are releasing on a Monday instead of a Thursday,
- 2:08Speaker 1: but we did want to make sure that we were
- 2:10Speaker 1: able to record after all the Back to Hogwarts stuff happened,
- 2:16Speaker 1: so that way we can talk about all of these
- 2:18Speaker 1: announcements and our thoughts. So this episode is going to
- 2:22Speaker 1: be completely news, so kind of breaking our usual format
- 2:28Speaker 1: as well as our usual schedule. But on September eighteenth,
- 2:33Speaker 1: we will be back to our regular schedule with a
- 2:35Speaker 1: normal episode that day.
- 2:37Speaker 3: So yeah, listening to WN the Wizarding Wireless Network now
- 2:48Speaker 3: for the latest headlines.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So we have a few pieces of news that are
- 2:53Speaker 1: not Back to Hogwarts announcements that happened after we've recorded
- 2:57Speaker 1: last episode as usual, again consistent, so we'll get into
- 3:05Speaker 1: those really quick before we dive into all the stuff
- 3:07Speaker 1: from the showcase. So we have more Weasley's. We got
- 3:13Speaker 1: the casting for Fred, George Percy and Ginny for the
- 3:18Speaker 1: HBO TV series. So yeah, there's this awesome photo of
- 3:24Speaker 1: all of them. We've seen some more pictures of them
- 3:27Speaker 1: out filming, so we've seen them a costume which is
- 3:31Speaker 1: really fun. So we have Tristan and Gabriel Harland who
- 3:38Speaker 1: are playing Fred and George respectively, Rory Spooner as Percy,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I think they all look really great, and I've seen
- 3:55Speaker 2: some like discord online about their like how their costumes look,
- 4:00Speaker 2: especially for like Molly, like thinking that it doesn't they don't.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I don't know a better way to say it, that
- 4:07Speaker 2: they don't look quote unquote poor enough. But that's what
- 4:11Speaker 2: I've seen online. I don't I don't understand.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I mean, they're not going to show up in like rags, right,
- 4:21Speaker 1: Like do people think people with less money look like?
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah? I think that, you know, I think they look great,
- 4:29Speaker 2: and I think, like obviously all of them, they're just
- 4:31Speaker 2: wearing this like hodgepodge of stuff I like very easily
- 4:38Speaker 2: as the net. Yeah, and I loved that Ron was
- 4:42Speaker 2: in a Chedley cannon shirt because again, just any kind
- 4:47Speaker 2: of nod to like cannon and this being like very
- 4:51Speaker 2: cannon heavy is great, and so I loved that in Corporation.
- 4:55Speaker 2: But no, they all look super great.
- 4:58Speaker 1: And Ginny where socks with sandals. I was like I
- 5:02Speaker 1: love this.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yes, I loved it so much. I think she looks adorable. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 2: I don't know. Again, I am like, I know, I
- 5:12Speaker 2: don't know. I'm still like really liking everything that we're seeing.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I know that there's like that maybe isn't I don't know,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I don't know if that is the major Maybe that
- 5:22Speaker 2: is the major opinion or not. I know, obviously there's
- 5:25Speaker 2: still like, you know, always going to be like different
- 5:29Speaker 2: opinions with this, which is fine, but like, I'm still
- 5:31Speaker 2: liking everything.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So mm hmmm. I think for the most part, I
- 5:36Speaker 1: think that the next announcement is probably a little more
- 5:40Speaker 1: divisive than most of the casting we've gotten so far.
- 5:45Speaker 1: For sure, it immediately thought of Tom when this happened. Well,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and I am sorry you're not here, Tom.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I know, I know, and I have some I have
- 5:56Speaker 2: some massive thoughts about this next one that are gonna
- 5:59Speaker 2: d be from everything I just said. So let's get
- 6:03Speaker 2: into it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Okay. So, speaking of casting, during the Back to Hogwarts showcase,
- 6:09Speaker 1: it was revealed that Warwick Davis is reprising his role
- 6:14Speaker 1: as Professor Flitwick in the HBO TV series, and people
- 6:18Speaker 1: understandably have many thoughts about this. It's an interesting choice,
- 6:26Speaker 1: very interesting if you're trying to make something different, why
- 6:31Speaker 1: are we casting the same actor?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, this is the It's funny because, like I had,
- 6:44Speaker 2: I didn't initially have like a thought about this because
- 6:49Speaker 2: I was at Universal back to Hogwarts Day, and so
- 6:52Speaker 2: I was like preoccupied and busy with being like at
- 6:56Speaker 2: Hogwarts to like see what everything was being announced, and
- 7:00Speaker 2: so I kind of like just saw glimpses later and
- 7:03Speaker 2: then I didn't really like think much of it. I
- 7:06Speaker 2: think at first I actually had some like I don't
- 7:09Speaker 2: want to say excitement, that wasn't the right word, but like,
- 7:11Speaker 2: but then when I sat on it, I'm like, okay,
- 7:14Speaker 2: Like this is actually the very first thing of like
- 7:18Speaker 2: that we've learned about this show in total totality that
- 7:21Speaker 2: I like don't love and not because like I don't
- 7:27Speaker 2: think Warwick Davis can do it. Obviously he can. He
- 7:30Speaker 2: originated the role and did great, But exactly what you said,
- 7:33Speaker 2: like I think that we like. One thing that I've
- 7:40Speaker 2: liked is that I have been able to keep these
- 7:44Speaker 2: separate in my head. And I know there's been a
- 7:47Speaker 2: lot of discourse online and like Chris Columbus just came
- 7:50Speaker 2: out and said some things as well about like how
- 7:52Speaker 2: they have Hagrid looking and I have thoughts about that too,
- 7:55Speaker 2: Like right, like at the end of the day, these
- 7:57Speaker 2: are based on characters, so they aren't going to look
- 8:00Speaker 2: similarly because they're described in a book. But this is
- 8:05Speaker 2: just kind of like a very like a very interesting choice,
- 8:08Speaker 2: like did could they not find somebody else? Did work
- 8:13Speaker 2: asked to do it? Like I just am so curious
- 8:16Speaker 2: how it came about, And.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Just like there's so much they can do with makeup.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I mean, Flitwick in the films doesn't look like Warwick, right,
- 8:29Speaker 1: so you can An.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Doesn't look like grip Hook and they're all the same actor,
- 8:34Speaker 2: so like.
- 8:36Speaker 1: They could make him look totally different. But at the
- 8:41Speaker 1: end of the day, person, what are we doing?
- 8:47Speaker 2: And how I mean? And like I don't want him
- 8:52Speaker 2: to play him any different. He's gonna be like you
- 8:55Speaker 2: know what I mean? Because then it's like wait what
- 8:57Speaker 2: But at the same time, it's just like but I'm
- 9:00Speaker 2: don't want the exact same either, Like.
- 9:03Speaker 1: And also, if you are going to bury him under
- 9:06Speaker 1: the makeup and make him look different, then why not
- 9:08Speaker 1: just get a different actor?
- 9:12Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:14Speaker 1: Yeah, It's just it's a choice.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It was a choice, especially like.
- 9:18Speaker 1: They've got to know that they've been getting this backlash
- 9:21Speaker 1: and that's like a thing that people have a problem with,
- 9:23Speaker 1: is it being too close? So why why would this
- 9:27Speaker 1: be something like yes, let's do that.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I've actually like I've seen a lot of like good
- 9:32Speaker 2: things online too, but like I yeah, I mean, obviously,
- 9:38Speaker 2: this one little thing is not enough to write me off.
- 9:40Speaker 2: SERI I'm obviously still excited and watch it, going to
- 9:44Speaker 2: watch it, and like I mean, obviously, as we've talked about,
- 9:47Speaker 2: I think that like obviously Tom has kind of been
- 9:49Speaker 2: the one of the three of us that's kind of
- 9:51Speaker 2: had more like reservations about the show where I think
- 9:54Speaker 2: you and I are just like, yeah, let's do this.
- 9:56Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm just yeah, I don't, I don't Yeah,
- 10:01Speaker 2: I don't know. I think, like, yeah, I don't have
- 10:05Speaker 2: a problem with like these actors like coming back and
- 10:08Speaker 2: still being part of the franchise. Like obviously we like
- 10:11Speaker 2: we see like Havanna and James and Oliver and Bonnie
- 10:15Speaker 2: coming back to you know, and Warwick came back, you know,
- 10:17Speaker 2: to do the Baking Show, and like having Tom come
- 10:20Speaker 2: back for Curse Child, Like I love that they're still
- 10:23Speaker 2: so involved and passionate about it. But I think that, like, yeah,
- 10:30Speaker 2: I don't know this. Yeah it was it was a choice,
- 10:33Speaker 2: and I think it was probably I don't want to
- 10:35Speaker 2: say the wrong choice because like we know he'll do
- 10:38Speaker 2: a great job, so it's like hard to say like
- 10:41Speaker 2: that was the wrong choice, Like we'll be fine. We
- 10:45Speaker 2: know he'll be fine. But I think it's just yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 2: like let's just like keep this separate, Like yeah, so
- 10:54Speaker 2: I can keep it separate in my brain. And now
- 10:57Speaker 2: they're messing with that a little bit. But hopefully this
- 11:00Speaker 2: is the only uh recasting that we get.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So in addition to that news, we also got
- 11:13Speaker 1: the casting announcement for a few more characters. Elijah Ocean
- 11:18Speaker 1: will be Dean Thomas Finn Stevens as Vincent Crabb, William
- 11:22Speaker 1: Nash as Gregory Goyle, Serene Saba as Professor Sprout, Richard
- 11:27Speaker 1: Durden as Professor Bins, Bridd Brennan as Madame Pomfrey, and
- 11:32Speaker 1: Lee Gil as grip Hook. Professor Binns looks perfect.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I like am just so excited. You know how
- 11:42Speaker 2: exciting it is to just see Professor Binns cast.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It's so excited.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I mean it's like I just mentioned with like you know,
- 11:51Speaker 2: the Chudley Cannon shirt, like I think, like, sorry, like
- 11:54Speaker 2: I am gonna be so excited about this show because
- 11:57Speaker 2: like it's so exciting to like get these other characters
- 12:01Speaker 2: and these other canon things and book things that we
- 12:03Speaker 2: didn't get in the films and like.
- 12:05Speaker 1: This Bins entering through the blackboard.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's all so happy the actor. Yes, and
- 12:12Speaker 2: the actor already looks so good, like doesn't even have
- 12:15Speaker 2: makeup or anything on. He just is already like Professor
- 12:18Speaker 2: Binns in my opinion, So yeah, I was definitely the
- 12:21Speaker 2: most excited to see that. I also think that Crab
- 12:26Speaker 2: and Goyle look really great too, like really spot on.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And I think that little trio will just look really great.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I don't know, I think they continue to all look
- 12:41Speaker 2: I mean like to come off of I guess just
- 12:44Speaker 2: you know, us having some reservations of Warwick coming back.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I think everyone looks like really great. Like I think
- 12:50Speaker 2: like the actor for Grip Hook looks really great too.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Like I think that I'm really excited just to see
- 12:57Speaker 2: everybody like in action, because yeah, they just yeah, they
- 13:03Speaker 2: just look great. So yeah, I'm excited.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So moving on from casting Harry Potter, a Hogwarts Express
- 13:11Speaker 1: Adventure will be opening in twenty twenty six. So this
- 13:15Speaker 1: was first teased last year during the Back to Hogwarts showcase,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and from the wording it sounds like they were hoping
- 13:22Speaker 1: to have up and running sooner, but it's taking a
- 13:24Speaker 1: little more time. To quote their website, it says a
- 13:29Speaker 1: Hogwarts Express Adventure will open in twenty twenty six, giving
- 13:33Speaker 1: us a bit more time to make this journey aboard
- 13:35Speaker 1: a real moving train. Everything is meant to be, from
- 13:39Speaker 1: house competitions to spellcasting thrills, this is no ordinary train ride,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and we're making sure every detail is unforgettable. So yeah,
- 13:49Speaker 1: just from that wording, it just sounds like maybe there
- 13:51Speaker 1: were some delays, but yeah, twenty twenty six. And in
- 13:57Speaker 1: the video posted to the official Harry Potter Instagram, some
- 14:00Speaker 1: more of the details of the experience are outlined and
- 14:04Speaker 1: you get to see some of the stuff like the
- 14:06Speaker 1: photo ops. They're gonna have a photo op of platform
- 14:10Speaker 1: nine and three quarters and the actual train ride will
- 14:13Speaker 1: feature some different activities and things on board as well,
- 14:18Speaker 1: and afterwards it looks like they'll be selling butter beer
- 14:21Speaker 1: in merch. It looks like they're going to have kind
- 14:23Speaker 1: of a little village sort of set up going on
- 14:26Speaker 1: there for that.
- 14:27Speaker 2: So it's interesting like in the like the little video
- 14:31Speaker 2: kind of rendering that you get to see of it
- 14:32Speaker 2: in the showcase, Like it's funny, and I think it's
- 14:36Speaker 2: just because obviously it's just a rendering, but it almost
- 14:39Speaker 2: makes it look like they're planning to do like virtual screens,
- 14:44Speaker 2: so it looks like you're actually going through the Scottish
- 14:47Speaker 2: like countryside, but you're on an actual moving train, and
- 14:50Speaker 2: so I'm really curious, like what that's actually gonna look like,
- 14:53Speaker 2: Like are the windows actually gonna be virtual screens or
- 14:56Speaker 2: are you gonna like where is this gonna be like,
- 14:59Speaker 2: because I don't like if this goes through, like I
- 15:03Speaker 2: don't know why I'm thinking the Midwest or I don't
- 15:05Speaker 2: know why I'm thinking that, but like the Midwest of
- 15:07Speaker 2: the United States like does not look like the Scottish Islands.
- 15:12Speaker 2: So I'm really interested to see what they're gonna do.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I mean, maybe they will do this like virtual screen
- 15:18Speaker 2: the kind of like think of like the Hot Earth
- 15:20Speaker 2: Express at Universal but maybe obviously more like advanced and
- 15:25Speaker 2: you're on a moving train then too, so it'd be
- 15:27Speaker 2: kind of like the same thing of being on a
- 15:28Speaker 2: moving train. So yeah, right, I have just have a
- 15:32Speaker 2: lot of I had a lot of questions when we
- 15:34Speaker 2: first got this announcement last year, and I actually now
- 15:37Speaker 2: that we finally have a little bit more information, I
- 15:40Speaker 2: feel like I have even more questions about like what
- 15:42Speaker 2: this experience is going to be like. But yeah, I
- 15:45Speaker 2: guess we'll see. Yeah, we still don't know where it's
- 15:49Speaker 2: going to be and.
- 15:51Speaker 1: No idea.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I mean, it's kind of like scary that it was
- 15:56Speaker 2: announced a year ago, and like you, like you said,
- 15:58Speaker 2: it seems like they're it's just taking them a little
- 16:01Speaker 2: bit longer to get it to get it sorted. But
- 16:04Speaker 2: I'd rather them obviously like take the time to like
- 16:07Speaker 2: come up with a good experience than to like rush
- 16:10Speaker 2: something either. So yeah, I guess we'll see. But we've
- 16:16Speaker 2: got a little bit of more information on it now. Then,
- 16:20Speaker 2: also in the showcase, we got a little bit more
- 16:23Speaker 2: about the full cast audio book from Audible, which, as
- 16:27Speaker 2: I mentioned, I got I remember it was the last episode.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I think it was last episode, episode twenty six where
- 16:32Speaker 2: we like learned about this and I was super excited.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I think that was a bit of news that was
- 16:37Speaker 2: most excited about, and this continues to still be the
- 16:40Speaker 2: bit of news that I'm the most excited about. And
- 16:44Speaker 2: so we got another little kind of like video teaser
- 16:48Speaker 2: as part of the showcase. This one was really cool
- 16:51Speaker 2: because we got to see like them in the recording
- 16:54Speaker 2: studio delivering their lines, some of these like cats members
- 16:58Speaker 2: getting super into it. I just love like kind of
- 17:02Speaker 2: behind the scenes from recording like audio dramas and stuff,
- 17:06Speaker 2: because I think a lot of these actors, like, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 2: they are a lot of them. Some of them are
- 17:11Speaker 2: voice actors only, but some of them are obviously like
- 17:14Speaker 2: on screen actors, and it's always so interesting to me
- 17:16Speaker 2: to like watch them like fully act it out, you know,
- 17:19Speaker 2: so that they're fully in character, but obviously they're no
- 17:22Speaker 2: one is ever going to see that performance, you know,
- 17:24Speaker 2: but it's just how they get into it. And we
- 17:28Speaker 2: also got to see like crewmembers gathering natural sounds from
- 17:31Speaker 2: a steam engine. And yeah, like I said last episode,
- 17:35Speaker 2: i just love the idea of a full cast audio
- 17:38Speaker 2: drama and I'm surprised it's taken this long for us
- 17:41Speaker 2: to do it, because I think Harry Potter is like
- 17:42Speaker 2: the most perfect story for this. We also got a
- 17:48Speaker 2: few more like casting announcements as part of this video,
- 17:53Speaker 2: So we found out that Mark Addie obi Hagrid, Daniel
- 17:57Speaker 2: Mays's Dobby, Alex Hassel is Lucia smelfoy Ovny Deshmok as
- 18:02Speaker 2: Parvattie Patil, and Sarah Deshmok is Padma Patil. So I
- 18:06Speaker 2: kind of like that it seems like their sisters in
- 18:08Speaker 2: real life. And yeah, I have this. I got so
- 18:13Speaker 2: teary eyed listening to And God, the actor who's playing
- 18:17Speaker 2: the older Harry is escaping me. It's not here, is
- 18:20Speaker 2: it Harry tried away? Is he doing the younger version
- 18:22Speaker 2: is escaping Marina? But and Hugh Laurie doing the like
- 18:28Speaker 2: the cave and he just talking about like I'm not like,
- 18:32Speaker 2: I'm not worried, I'm with you, and I literally got
- 18:35Speaker 2: teared off, but I'm just like I'm just like.
- 18:37Speaker 1: He pauses and that line is so.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Good and his breath like, oh my god, I'm gonna
- 18:42Speaker 2: like die listening to this. I can tell because I'm like, Wow,
- 18:45Speaker 2: I'm just watching you record it, and I'm getting like
- 18:47Speaker 2: emotional and choked up. It's just yeah, it's just so
- 18:51Speaker 2: good and I'm so excited and yeah, I'm just so excited.
- 18:57Speaker 1: So, like you pointed out, like I think is super
- 19:00Speaker 1: interesting that the Patil Twins they cast actual sisters for this,
- 19:05Speaker 1: and I was like thinking, in my mind, I'm like,
- 19:07Speaker 1: we know that they cast Arabella in both the audio
- 19:13Speaker 1: and the TV show. What does it matter really if
- 19:17Speaker 1: these two people look alike or not. If we're not
- 19:20Speaker 1: going to see them just an audio, could they potentially also.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Be beyond something there?
- 19:27Speaker 1: I looked them up and Ovne is twenty years old.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But if they don't have them in it a ton
- 19:37Speaker 1: until like a later season, that might not matter, you
- 19:41Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like if they're just background characters
- 19:45Speaker 1: in the beginning and then I don't know when they
- 19:48Speaker 1: would film, so they might be a little too old,
- 19:51Speaker 1: but like it also might work out timing wise, depending
- 19:55Speaker 1: on how quickly they filmed seasons.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Wh Yeah. And I will say though, and I just
- 20:05Speaker 2: double checked this because I thought we already do have
- 20:08Speaker 2: a Parvati cast.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, Alessi.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Aloney, I thought, I like, and you were saying that,
- 20:13Speaker 2: I'm like, I think we did get one of them cast,
- 20:18Speaker 2: only one though we only have Parvati right now. Yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 2: very interesting.
- 20:23Speaker 1: It is interesting though that they actually cast sisters for that,
- 20:26Speaker 1: because how would you ever?
- 20:28Speaker 2: No, but yeah, in the on screen versions of these
- 20:32Speaker 2: the Pateol sisters, like, we never get actual real life sisters, no,
- 20:37Speaker 2: which is interesting, so interesting, huh. But yeah, I'm super
- 20:42Speaker 2: excited for this, and you can pre order like all
- 20:47Speaker 2: of them now. Audible might still be running. I know.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I restarted my my subscription right after we got this announcement,
- 20:59Speaker 2: and they were like a three months for ninety nine cents,
- 21:02Speaker 2: which they do every once in a while, and that's
- 21:04Speaker 2: like my little hack for Audible is I'll rejoin when
- 21:07Speaker 2: they do like three months for ninety nine cents and
- 21:09Speaker 2: then like stop up on some audio books and then
- 21:11Speaker 2: I cancel my Audible and then I just maybe it's
- 21:14Speaker 2: like cheating the system a little bit, but almost Lytherin
- 21:17Speaker 2: so makes sense. Yeah, So I did that, and so
- 21:21Speaker 2: I'm planning to use the first three credits and then
- 21:23Speaker 2: obviously I'll buy the rest, but you can preorder them now.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Sorcerer's Stone releases on November fourth, and then if you
- 21:30Speaker 2: go back and re listen to our new section from
- 21:33Speaker 2: episode twenty six, that's where we talked about like all
- 21:36Speaker 2: the casting and the original casting announcements that we got.
- 21:39Speaker 2: And then also we have all of the release dates
- 21:41Speaker 2: for each of the audio like each book, and we
- 21:43Speaker 2: talked about them in that episode, So we won't rehash
- 21:46Speaker 2: it here, but you can go back in and listen
- 21:48Speaker 2: to that. So yeah, yeah, it's super exciting. This was again,
- 21:51Speaker 2: like I said, probably my favorite part of the showcase
- 21:53Speaker 2: for sure. And then also some more like book news,
- 21:58Speaker 2: I guess if we want to stick with that, we
- 22:02Speaker 2: got a sneak peek at some of the art and
- 22:04Speaker 2: the interactive elements that are gonna be inside the upcoming
- 22:07Speaker 2: Goblet of Fire Interactive Illustrated edition. Obviously, if we've talked
- 22:11Speaker 2: about this quite a bit, and obviously being upset that
- 22:14Speaker 2: Me and a Lima's not coming back, having said that
- 22:18Speaker 2: it looks great still, I'm just still gonna be as
- 22:22Speaker 2: I'm flipping through it, I'm gonna be like, I wish
- 22:23Speaker 2: this was mean a Lima, but it looks good, but
- 22:25Speaker 2: I wish it was me and a Lima. Like it's
- 22:27Speaker 2: gonna be a very like cognitive dissonance experience.
- 22:29Speaker 1: But I'm pretty bitter about it. But I don't don't
- 22:33Speaker 1: know if I'm gonna buy it or not.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well i am.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So I'll just look at yours.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yeah I'm gonna, like I said, I'm gonna I'm not
- 22:44Speaker 2: gonna be happy about it, like.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You're gonna suffer, but you're going to be happy about.
- 22:50Speaker 2: It, exactly exactly. And I like the sneak peak we
- 22:55Speaker 2: get in the showcase. He look, it does look good.
- 22:59Speaker 2: It looks good, and yeah, well it comes out. We
- 23:04Speaker 2: got we found out the date. We knew it was
- 23:06Speaker 2: coming out in October, but we got an official release
- 23:09Speaker 2: date of October fourteenth, So yeah, I'll probably put on
- 23:13Speaker 2: my Christmas list this year, and in that way, someone
- 23:16Speaker 2: else is buying it and then you know, yeah, but yeah,
- 23:21Speaker 2: I'm still sad. It's not mean a lima, but yeah
- 23:24Speaker 2: it does. It does still look good. So I feel
- 23:27Speaker 2: like betrayal saying that, But yeah, October fourteenth. If you
- 23:33Speaker 2: want to get a copy, head to your local bookstore
- 23:36Speaker 2: or retailer on October fourteenth. And then also we actually
- 23:42Speaker 2: just shared a few episodes ago that this Pocket Potter's
- 23:48Speaker 2: series that's coming out, which I need to go to
- 23:50Speaker 2: a bookstore and like have a look at them. Because
- 23:52Speaker 2: I was super excited when we first like announced them.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I thought they look super cute. Maybe I should like
- 23:58Speaker 2: get them for my boyfriend daughter because they're like geared
- 24:01Speaker 2: towards kids. That'd be really cute. But again, they are
- 24:05Speaker 2: these like little books, like guide books. I guess you
- 24:07Speaker 2: could call them for the different characters in the series.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Harry Ron and Hermione are already out. We talked a
- 24:14Speaker 2: few episodes ago that Dumbledore and Luna's versions would be
- 24:18Speaker 2: coming out in twenty twenty six in February, and during
- 24:21Speaker 2: the showcase we learned that the Hagrid and Dobby versions
- 24:25Speaker 2: will also be coming out in twenty twenty six in August.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I love the Dobby's getting one me too.
- 24:32Speaker 2: That's so cute, you know, yeah, I of course he
- 24:36Speaker 2: would though, like.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Of course, or I love for Dobby.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I want one for Creature.
- 24:41Speaker 1: M hmmm mm hmmm.
- 24:43Speaker 2: We know, I know, we won't we want well, you know,
- 24:46Speaker 2: just do all the house else they all deserve love.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Like I'm good. I'm gonna go out here right now
- 24:52Speaker 2: and say even Creature. Maybe that's the Slytherin in me.
- 24:55Speaker 1: But oh I have a major soft spot for Creature.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I I kind of breaks my heart a little bit.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yes, I agree. So, yeah, that's a book news.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah. So we also got a teaser trailer for some
- 25:12Speaker 1: new additions to Hogwarts Mystery, and it looks like there's
- 25:16Speaker 1: some news stories and rewards that will be added to
- 25:19Speaker 1: the game. There's also an upcoming Dark Arts Month event
- 25:24Speaker 1: and giveaways.
- 25:26Speaker 2: What I you know, one I like need to Like
- 25:30Speaker 2: I have had Hogwarts Mystery like downloaded on my phone
- 25:33Speaker 2: and my iPad like since its inception, and I just
- 25:38Speaker 2: haven't really played like this. I mean, my Hogwarts legacy
- 25:42Speaker 2: is still in its wrapping, like you know, so like
- 25:45Speaker 2: what's new. But every time we get these like new
- 25:50Speaker 2: things coming to Hogwarts Mystery, I'm like, I need to
- 25:52Speaker 2: like play this, like this looks so cool?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Why am I not going?
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah? And there's still yeah, and I think, like remember
- 25:59Speaker 2: like when we I think, I know, like had tom
- 26:01Speaker 2: I talked about it a lot where we had a
- 26:03Speaker 2: lot of mobile Harry Potter stuff kind of phased out,
- 26:06Speaker 2: But it seems like they're still really putting a lot in.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I mean they're obviously still really focusing on Hogwarts Mystery
- 26:16Speaker 2: and on then the game that we're going to talk
- 26:18Speaker 2: about next. I'm so curious about this, like Dark Arts Month,
- 26:22Speaker 2: Like was I like, did I miss the Slytherin gathering
- 26:26Speaker 2: of Dark Arts Month? Like is this like an official thing?
- 26:29Speaker 2: Like it? Like when is Dark Arts Month? Like is it?
- 26:35Speaker 1: It's kind of like how Halloween Butterbeer Month just like
- 26:38Speaker 1: suddenly randomly was a thing.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Right, and and not even just like a big thing.
- 26:46Speaker 1: They're like, it's butter Beer Month again, and.
- 26:48Speaker 2: We're like last time. So okay, okay, it's been a
- 26:58Speaker 2: thing in Hogwarts Mystery. I think, okay, because so I
- 27:02Speaker 2: just quickly googled Dark Arts Month. The AI overview says
- 27:06Speaker 2: that Dark Arts Month is a themed event celebrating the
- 27:08Speaker 2: darker elements of the Harry Potter Wizarding World, often held
- 27:11Speaker 2: in October, like I just mentioned, obviously in conjunction with Halloween.
- 27:17Speaker 2: But apparently it's why did I? How did I miss this?
- 27:21Speaker 2: I mean, it seems like maybe Curse Child has done something.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I mean, like that thing like Universal has with like that,
- 27:31Speaker 1: didn't they used to do the light show and stuff.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I don't know if that's still a thing. But yeah,
- 27:35Speaker 1: and obviously you're death theaters. We can't forget them.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but I know, and that's like, that's to me,
- 27:42Speaker 2: that's like part of Halloween horror nights, you know, But
- 27:45Speaker 2: I guess it makes sense. But here's an article that
- 27:48Speaker 2: came up as well from the official Harry Potter dot
- 27:50Speaker 2: com back in October of twenty nineteen, Harry Potter Hogwarts
- 27:57Speaker 2: Mystery celebrates Dark Arts Month. Hmm. So apparently it's been
- 28:04Speaker 2: a thing on Hogwarts Mystery for a while. And I'm
- 28:06Speaker 2: sure everyone listening that's been playing Hogwarts Mystery religiously is
- 28:09Speaker 2: probably yelling at us right now, like, yeah, it's fun
- 28:12Speaker 2: a thing. Like I'm sorry I haven't played, but yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 2: I behind, We're behind. I always think of October a
- 28:20Speaker 2: Dark Arts a month, like Tess a Halloween, you know,
- 28:22Speaker 2: So that makes complete sense.
- 28:24Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, yeah. So the other mobile game, Harry
- 28:30Speaker 1: Potter Puzzles and Spells is also getting some new content,
- 28:34Speaker 1: and we got a sneak peek at the upcoming Battle
- 28:36Speaker 1: of Hogwarts feature, where players will be able to quote
- 28:40Speaker 1: band together with your club to fight for the Light.
- 28:44Speaker 2: This is a Harry Potter mobile game that I do play. Yeah,
- 28:48Speaker 2: the fight for the Light like Star Wars, like look
- 28:51Speaker 2: light Side, Dark Side, like what are we doing here?
- 28:54Speaker 2: But Puzzles and Spells is really fun. I really like
- 28:57Speaker 2: Puzzles and Spells. I think I've fallen off of it
- 29:00Speaker 2: a little bit since they've started doing these like special content,
- 29:05Speaker 2: like I don't remember ever having like crazy special content.
- 29:08Speaker 2: But yeah, I need to get back into this one too,
- 29:10Speaker 2: because I really like Puzzles and Spells and a Battle
- 29:14Speaker 2: of Hogwarts feature that seems exciting. But yeah, we'll see.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So we also got a Curse Child video,
- 29:28Speaker 1: and this was a very lovely video of Tom Felton
- 29:31Speaker 1: talking about taking on the role of Draco and Cursechild.
- 29:36Speaker 1: That said, there wasn't a whole lot new in this video.
- 29:39Speaker 1: The only bit that was really new information comes in
- 29:42Speaker 1: a little line of text at the end, which says
- 29:45Speaker 1: the tenth anniversary of the production will be celebrated in
- 29:48Speaker 1: London in July twenty twenty six. So otherwise, we already
- 29:55Speaker 1: knew it's going to the Netherlands and tickets are on
- 29:58Speaker 1: sale for that, and all the those dates for the
- 30:00Speaker 1: North American tour are also not really new.
- 30:04Speaker 2: So.
- 30:06Speaker 1: You know, they're they're promoting that Tom is there, and yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 1: so this tenth anniversary is interesting though, like, I wonder
- 30:14Speaker 1: what they'll be doing for that, So hopefully we find
- 30:17Speaker 1: out more about that soon.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this was, like you said, I think
- 30:23Speaker 2: it was a very lovely video, a very heartfelt video.
- 30:26Speaker 2: And you know, anything with Tom talking about coming back
- 30:33Speaker 2: to reprising the role of Draco tugs at my heart's
- 30:35Speaker 2: drings a little bit. As I've said before, he looks great. Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 2: The Jermiine fan fiction reader in me just loves to
- 30:45Speaker 2: see him and this adult Draco outlet. And yeah, it
- 30:51Speaker 2: looks great, and I'm excited to see him in a
- 30:53Speaker 2: couple of months.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And Tom is aging particularly well as well.
- 30:57Speaker 2: So I mean that's basically exactly what I was alluding to.
- 31:01Speaker 2: So now I know, you know, and there's there is
- 31:06Speaker 2: there is something about him and the Draco costume. Yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 2: we'll just uh yeah, Tom.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Fell, keep doing what you're doing.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Tom Amy, and I see Monson and you can tell
- 31:20Speaker 2: we're very excited. We're gonna be a little too far.
- 31:23Speaker 2: I might have to pack some binocular so I can
- 31:25Speaker 2: really see you.
- 31:26Speaker 1: But well, you know, maybe we'll see him at the
- 31:28Speaker 1: stage door. You never know.
- 31:30Speaker 2: This is true, this is true. He won't be in
- 31:31Speaker 2: costume then, But he still looks for it even if
- 31:33Speaker 2: he's not in costume, so it's true. Yeah, yeah, but
- 31:36Speaker 2: either way, looks looks great. And yeah, we'll.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Move on from talking about how much we're gonna before
- 31:45Speaker 1: we fan Girl too much. Move to our next item.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Harry Potter Wizards of Baking is coming back for a
- 31:55Speaker 1: season two, which we knew and we got a preview
- 31:59Speaker 1: on Back to Hogwarts. So James and Oliver are back
- 32:02Speaker 1: as hosts, and Carla and Joseph our back as judges,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and the creations look amazing. There's a Thestoral cake thing
- 32:14Speaker 1: in there that I was like, whoa, I'm on the
- 32:16Speaker 1: boat that too.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I yeah, the thestral was really cool. The buck
- 32:24Speaker 2: peak one was really cool. The like Hagrid like face
- 32:29Speaker 2: is really cool. The like fire breathing like dragon is
- 32:33Speaker 2: really cool. Yeah. Yeah, I'm excited for this. Obviously I
- 32:37Speaker 2: was a huge fan of season one. Still a little
- 32:40Speaker 2: salty that my number one team did not win, But yeah,
- 32:45Speaker 2: I'm really excited for this to come back for season two.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I think it looks great.
- 32:49Speaker 1: And yeah, I don't think we have an actual release
- 32:55Speaker 1: date because the preview just says that it's coming Holidays
- 32:59Speaker 1: of twenty two, So that makes sense.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Didn't it come didn't come out around Thanksgiving time last year?
- 33:06Speaker 2: I think it was around thing. It makes sense. It's
- 33:09Speaker 2: a very like Thanksgiving Christmas Eve kind of show, and
- 33:14Speaker 2: I'll be curious to see, Like, I don't think we've
- 33:16Speaker 2: gotten anything about like what the winning prize will be,
- 33:21Speaker 2: Like is it going to be the same as the
- 33:23Speaker 2: first season where they get to have a published recipe
- 33:28Speaker 2: or will it be something different? I don't know.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point because like, are they going
- 33:34Speaker 1: to make a cookbook every single year? Look, I feel
- 33:39Speaker 1: like they'd have to switch up the prize at some point.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess we'll say. And then in the showcase,
- 33:51Speaker 2: we like they move into something that just like hit
- 33:54Speaker 2: me like a ton of bricks. Really, they talk about
- 33:58Speaker 2: how in twenty twenty six, you're going to be celebrating
- 34:01Speaker 2: twenty five years since the first Harry Potter film twenty five.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I might as well just be dead now. I'm old.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I'm old, It's over debt, that's it. Rip me of
- 34:19Speaker 1: the century?
- 34:20Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 34:22Speaker 1: Like yeah, just wow, how is that possible? Because I'm
- 34:28Speaker 1: only twenty five?
- 34:30Speaker 2: Right, Like, I mean I'm like twenty three, but I
- 34:33Speaker 2: remember seeing this, you know, like, how does that work?
- 34:37Speaker 2: Twenty five? What the lead? Yeah, so that I just couldn't.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I mean, it's like, I guess I knew it's been
- 34:47Speaker 2: like no, I didn't, like, honestly, no, I didn't really
- 34:49Speaker 2: realize it's been twenty five years.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Like right, you have to like stop and think about
- 34:54Speaker 1: it that twenty five years ago was two thousand, where
- 34:58Speaker 1: it's like no, in my mind, I think twenty five
- 35:01Speaker 1: years ago. I think like nineteen ninety something.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Oh, I think nineteen seventy.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Oh man, Yeah, there's way more than twenty five. Nicole.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'm having a little bit of a
- 35:15Speaker 2: trouble with the aging aspect of my life, and this
- 35:20Speaker 2: just like slaps me right in the face, Like Nicole,
- 35:23Speaker 2: you're in your mid thirties now, like thank you, Harry Potter.
- 35:26Speaker 2: And I think every time we've gotten anniversaries of the books,
- 35:30Speaker 2: that hasn't bothered me as much because like, yeah, the
- 35:34Speaker 2: book's a been out for a while, but something about
- 35:36Speaker 2: like the movie coming out twenty five years ago.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I think it's just like I know, I was super
- 35:43Speaker 1: super young when the books were coming out, so like
- 35:45Speaker 1: that's not like surprising to me the length of time,
- 35:49Speaker 1: But then the movies is something else where. It's like
- 35:51Speaker 1: you can remember like like driving to the movie theater,
- 35:56Speaker 1: so like being old enough to drive.
- 35:59Speaker 2: I mean, I mean I was ten when Sorcerer's Stone
- 36:03Speaker 2: came out in theaters, so like I wasn't driving.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Well, I mean like the later movies. Yeah, yeah, I remember.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I also was far too young to drive with Sorcerer's Stone.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Yeah, like going to mid Night well right, because I
- 36:17Speaker 2: didn't really start. I think the first film that I
- 36:21Speaker 2: actually saw in theaters was Prisoner of Azkaban. I don't
- 36:24Speaker 2: even think I saw SORCER's Stone or number of Secrets
- 36:27Speaker 2: in theaters and they actually.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Came in theaters was Goblet of Fire.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but either way, Yeah, so hopefully all of
- 36:37Speaker 2: you listening are also having a bit of a crisis
- 36:39Speaker 2: about this as well, because I think two, like thinking
- 36:43Speaker 2: back to our episode where we talked about like the
- 36:45Speaker 2: movie magic like still holding up like that also like
- 36:49Speaker 2: is like crazy to me to like really think about
- 36:51Speaker 2: that that movie is twenty five years old, because it
- 36:53Speaker 2: still looks so great in my opinion.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like I saw Anthlete Hollow's Part one
- 37:01Speaker 1: in the theater last week, and even that movie, like.
- 37:05Speaker 2: That's.
- 37:07Speaker 1: What, that's thirteen years old at this point, it still
- 37:11Speaker 1: looks amazing, like it looks like something that could literally
- 37:14Speaker 1: come out right now. Yeah, it's weird. Yeah, wow, time man.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, well, unfortunately we don't have time turners to bring
- 37:28Speaker 2: us back. But what we do know is that in
- 37:31Speaker 2: twenty twenty six, it will be twenty five years since
- 37:34Speaker 2: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone film came out, and
- 37:38Speaker 2: the Showcase tea is that the celebration will be all
- 37:41Speaker 2: year long. And obviously this is a very milestone, you know,
- 37:47Speaker 2: a quarter of a century kind of milestone, So I'm
- 37:51Speaker 2: hoping that we'll get a lot of fun stuff. The
- 37:54Speaker 2: Showcase basically just said to you know, keep an eye
- 37:56Speaker 2: on the official Harry Potter social accounts and the website
- 38:00Speaker 2: for various news and announcements and all the information about
- 38:05Speaker 2: what's happening to celebrate the anniversary. And they I think
- 38:09Speaker 2: they mentioned at like a location near you, So I'm
- 38:11Speaker 2: assuming that presumably we'll get different events around the globe
- 38:14Speaker 2: for this.
- 38:15Speaker 1: So yeah, it'd be cool if they did some sort
- 38:18Speaker 1: of gathering you know, I feel like I haven't had
- 38:22Speaker 1: something in a while.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I would love that. I was actually thinking about that
- 38:26Speaker 2: when I was at Universal on September first. I know
- 38:29Speaker 2: that there was like a bunch of like social media
- 38:32Speaker 2: content creators that I follow their socials that they were
- 38:37Speaker 2: all there for back to Hogwarts, and I didn't run
- 38:39Speaker 2: into any of them, and there was like I saw pictures.
- 38:42Speaker 2: There was like a huge group of them and they
- 38:43Speaker 2: got on the train like yeah, like right, so they
- 38:46Speaker 2: got right at eleven and I did things backwards, as
- 38:49Speaker 2: I said to you, so I didn't see them. But
- 38:53Speaker 2: other than that, it was a very like business as usual,
- 38:56Speaker 2: normal kind of day there. And I'm like I had
- 39:00Speaker 2: that thought. I was like, man, I really wish that
- 39:03Speaker 2: like they did something with this day.
- 39:06Speaker 1: You know, I'm going to say it right now, because
- 39:08Speaker 1: as we know, Universal listens to our podcast. I think
- 39:13Speaker 1: they should bring back Celebration of Harry Potter for the
- 39:16Speaker 1: twenty fifth anniversary because Celebration of Harry Potter was very
- 39:21Speaker 1: much film focused. Yep, it makes total sense, yep to
- 39:26Speaker 1: do that for the twenty fifth anniversary.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Just agree, I agree. And then while you're at at Universal, like,
- 39:33Speaker 2: please come up with some kind of event for back
- 39:35Speaker 2: to Hogwarts Day.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Thank you, yes, thank you, please and thank you. Those
- 39:40Speaker 1: are our requests. Yes, you know where to find.
- 39:43Speaker 2: This yep, and you'll know you'll really find us at
- 39:47Speaker 2: Universal if you create these things.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Mm hmmmm h yeah, and then invite us and pay
- 39:54Speaker 1: for us to go there for free. That's all. It's
- 39:57Speaker 1: very small requests.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Well, sleep plug it here on the podcast, we're unhinged
- 40:05Speaker 2: without Tom and a late night and when there's no
- 40:09Speaker 2: actual serious topic here.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I was all, this is going to be a thirty
- 40:13Speaker 1: minute episode.
- 40:16Speaker 2: No, yeah, right, yeah, we always have a lot to say,
- 40:19Speaker 2: but hopefully are enjoying Amy and I a little un
- 40:22Speaker 2: a hinged on this episode.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Oh boy. Well anyway, I mean, you know this next
- 40:30Speaker 1: bit of news. I don't think we have anything to
- 40:33Speaker 1: worry about. I don't think we're going to be dethroned
- 40:35Speaker 1: as Universal's favorite podcast at all. But there will be
- 40:39Speaker 1: an official podcast put out that is revisiting the original films.
- 40:47Speaker 1: And that's about all the we have. We don't even
- 40:50Speaker 1: have a name of this podcast. If they take Ravellio,
- 40:55Speaker 1: we might have to sue them when we came there.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Someone out there is like searching that, you know. Can
- 41:04Speaker 2: you imagine though, like someone out there is like searching
- 41:07Speaker 2: all of the fan podcasts so that they like come
- 41:10Speaker 2: up with a new name. Oh my gosh, would we
- 41:12Speaker 2: come up or would we not? Because we're a Wizarding
- 41:14Speaker 2: World podcast and not Harry Potter.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Well, and like, here's the thing, do you know how
- 41:19Speaker 1: hard it was to find a name that wasn't already
- 41:22Speaker 1: taken when we did this. They're too late.
- 41:28Speaker 2: It's just going to be called the official Harry Potter podcast.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Like they don't even need to come out with something
- 41:34Speaker 2: eye catching, attention grabbing, and they can't.
- 41:39Speaker 1: The fans have already claimed all the good names.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Fans are always going to be more clever anyways. So yeah, yeah,
- 41:48Speaker 2: but having said all that, I'm actually kind of excited
- 41:50Speaker 2: for this because I am too. I think of like
- 41:52Speaker 2: some of the other like official, like I'm pretty sure
- 41:57Speaker 2: I used to listen to an official I did listen
- 42:00Speaker 2: to an official like Outlander podcast for a while, and
- 42:04Speaker 2: I think Game of Thrones did one too, And they're
- 42:06Speaker 2: always really exciting.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Because Abby had one for a while.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Yeah, because you obviously get like tidbits and guests and
- 42:14Speaker 2: stuff on those shows that unfortunately US fan podcast will
- 42:19Speaker 2: probably never be able to score on a podcast, and
- 42:23Speaker 2: so there is a lot of great information and I
- 42:25Speaker 2: really hope that it's like like, as you said, we
- 42:28Speaker 2: have no information on it at all, but I hope
- 42:31Speaker 2: that it is very like behind the scenes driven, you know,
- 42:37Speaker 2: and just kind of.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I feel like they're doing the right focus of doing
- 42:45Speaker 1: the films, Like I think it would be silly of
- 42:48Speaker 1: them to try and do an official podcast about the
- 42:52Speaker 1: books that, yeah, the fans have filled that space already,
- 42:57Speaker 1: Like I think, yes, doing something revisit behind the scenes
- 43:01Speaker 1: the making of the films, getting all those great interviews
- 43:05Speaker 1: with actors and crew and all that. I think that'll
- 43:10Speaker 1: be really interesting to listen to.
- 43:14Speaker 2: They could also tie the show into like I would love, like,
- 43:18Speaker 2: like what we were just talking about some of these
- 43:20Speaker 2: other podcasts that do, like, you know, an episode comes
- 43:24Speaker 2: out of a show and then the official podcast comes
- 43:27Speaker 2: out with like a behind the scenes kind of podcast, yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 2: talking about that episode. That'd be really cool too. It'll
- 43:36Speaker 2: be curious to see too, because one thing that HBO
- 43:38Speaker 2: does a lot is their original shows. They actually do
- 43:44Speaker 2: a little bit of a making of the episode at
- 43:48Speaker 2: the end of every episode, like They've done that for
- 43:50Speaker 2: House of Dragon, They've done that for the Last of Us,
- 43:52Speaker 2: like they just HBO is just something HBO does, And
- 43:55Speaker 2: I'm really hoping that they continue that tradition for this
- 44:00Speaker 2: because I would love that. But yeah, absolutely pretty cool.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Yeah. But in the meantime, if you are looking for
- 44:11Speaker 1: a podcast that has like more like crew behind the
- 44:16Speaker 1: scenes stuff, I do have to plug our girl, Flick Miles.
- 44:21Speaker 1: I believe she's recording a new season. I saw something
- 44:24Speaker 1: on our Instagram now behind the Land. So she's got
- 44:27Speaker 1: some really fun interviews with some like unexpected guests that
- 44:32Speaker 1: like maybe you wouldn't really think about too much. So
- 44:36Speaker 1: if you like the behind the scenes stuff, definitely check
- 44:38Speaker 1: out her podcast too, absolutely, and then go listen to
- 44:42Speaker 1: our episode interviewing her, which was episode six. Yeah, and
- 44:48Speaker 1: then we just have like some more merch focused stuff
- 44:52Speaker 1: that they put out. There was a video tour of
- 44:56Speaker 1: the Lego Hogsmeade Collector's Edition that James and Oliver Phelps
- 45:01Speaker 1: were showing all the different pieces of this looks pretty awesome.
- 45:05Speaker 1: It came out on September fourth, so there is an
- 45:10Speaker 1: Instagram video of that. Very cool. All the Lego stuff
- 45:15Speaker 1: is always so detailed, and.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I think we always talk about that always looks so great,
- 45:19Speaker 2: but I just have nowhere to put it, and like, yeah,
- 45:25Speaker 2: I was just pulling up the video because I actually
- 45:26Speaker 2: hadn't seen this yet. I know it looks really yeah,
- 45:29Speaker 2: it looks really cool.
- 45:30Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah. And then the last bit of merch
- 45:34Speaker 1: news here is the Hogwarts and the Snow collection is
- 45:37Speaker 1: now out in Harry Potter shops around the world and
- 45:40Speaker 1: at the studio tour, and you can also find it
- 45:43Speaker 1: online at Harry Potter shop dot com. I have to
- 45:47Speaker 1: say I was underwhelmed by this direction, which is so
- 45:52Speaker 1: I usually love all the Christmas stuff.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of feel the same actually, Like will
- 46:01Speaker 2: say that I loved like how they did the video
- 46:03Speaker 2: in the showcase and like incorporating all the different Harry
- 46:06Speaker 2: Potter shops and passing the trunk. I thought that was
- 46:08Speaker 2: really cute. Yeah, I was kind of underwhelmed too, especially
- 46:12Speaker 2: after like I'm so mad at myself for like not
- 46:14Speaker 2: getting one of the Christmas Spirit jerseys in the past,
- 46:21Speaker 2: and so I was really kind of looking forward to
- 46:23Speaker 2: like what we would get this year. I will say though,
- 46:26Speaker 2: I'm kind of excited for these Christmas like tea lights
- 46:30Speaker 2: that are coming out right now. We have the Honey
- 46:33Speaker 2: Dukes one, but I saw in a post that there's
- 46:36Speaker 2: going to be more coming out. Not that I want
- 46:40Speaker 2: to start a little tea light village because I just
- 46:42Speaker 2: don't have space for that right now, but I would
- 46:43Speaker 2: love like an Oliveanders one or that was exciting. I
- 46:47Speaker 2: think the snow globes are cute as well, but I
- 46:51Speaker 2: don't again, I don't feel like that I need anything.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I do like I like the ornaments that I
- 47:01Speaker 1: think they just started it last year at least that's
- 47:03Speaker 1: the first of one that I saw, these like porcelain ornaments,
- 47:07Speaker 1: and this year's is the trio like standing in the Snow.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Last year I got a really cute one of Hagrid
- 47:15Speaker 1: dragging the tree. So I do really like those ornaments.
- 47:21Speaker 1: That's about the only thing that interested me in the collection.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I mean, I actually I really like the Hogwarts and
- 47:30Speaker 2: the Snow three pack of socks. Yeah, and I.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Do like night Bus ornament is cute too.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Yes, I do really like so this Hogwarts in the
- 47:47Speaker 2: Snow like hoodie. I actually really loved this, like the
- 47:51Speaker 2: print of like the trees and the snow and Hogwarts
- 47:55Speaker 2: in the back, but I just wish that that was
- 47:59Speaker 2: on the of the Spirit jersey because I really really
- 48:04Speaker 2: like that print. I also do like the cushion cover
- 48:13Speaker 2: that one I might have to get, actually, so when
- 48:18Speaker 2: we are in New York in November, I look at
- 48:20Speaker 2: Harry Potter store. If I see that, I might have
- 48:22Speaker 2: to get that one because it is very cute. I
- 48:25Speaker 2: actually like so the if you haven't seen the collection,
- 48:28Speaker 2: the cushion cover is basically like the snow globes of
- 48:31Speaker 2: like Hogsmeade and Hogwarts and Three Broomsticks and everything on
- 48:34Speaker 2: a cushion cover. It's super cute. So there's a blanket
- 48:37Speaker 2: too that matches it that I really like. And I
- 48:42Speaker 2: do like these like fabric ornaments as well, like I
- 48:44Speaker 2: really like the the sorting hat one I really like.
- 48:51Speaker 2: And I also do like the Hogwarts trunk glass ornament
- 48:57Speaker 2: and how it's sparkly, and I think that will look
- 48:59Speaker 2: really good on a tree. The irony of all of
- 49:01Speaker 2: this is literally this morning, I flew home from Orlando
- 49:04Speaker 2: and I was texting Amy as I was in the
- 49:08Speaker 2: Universal store at the airport, and I bought an ornament
- 49:12Speaker 2: while I was there, speaking of this porcelain ornaments. There
- 49:15Speaker 2: it's headway on top of trunk with some like halle
- 49:20Speaker 2: Berry's and very christmasy, and it was very cute and
- 49:22Speaker 2: I didn't need to buy it, but I did. And
- 49:24Speaker 2: here we are looking at more ornaments that I probably
- 49:27Speaker 2: will have to pick.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Up, but it's the ornaments and I always get us.
- 49:31Speaker 2: They do and I don't have like two trees like
- 49:33Speaker 2: Amy does, and I don't have space for two trees,
- 49:36Speaker 2: so like my tree is just gonna be like extra
- 49:41Speaker 2: ornament y. But yeah, but yeah, definitely check out the collection.
- 49:44Speaker 2: I know during the showcase they offered like a twenty
- 49:47Speaker 2: twenty percent off discount code. I don't know if that
- 49:49Speaker 2: still works, but there it's like BT back to house,
- 49:53Speaker 2: So I don't know what it is. If you watch
- 49:54Speaker 2: the showcase it is at the end, but I might
- 49:57Speaker 2: have to see if that or are that stop code
- 50:00Speaker 2: is still active because I would love to save some
- 50:06Speaker 2: money on this ornament that I feel that I need
- 50:10Speaker 2: to get.
- 50:10Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, So there were a couple more things
- 50:19Speaker 1: in the showcase, but we didn't include them here because
- 50:22Speaker 1: they're things we've already talked about before. So that really
- 50:26Speaker 1: kind of wraps up everything new that we got on
- 50:31Speaker 1: Back to Hogwarts.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we covered most of I think pretty
- 50:34Speaker 2: much everything. I think the other things where there was
- 50:37Speaker 2: some If you haven't watched the showcase, definitely recommend watching it.
- 50:39Speaker 2: There's some like feel good like clips of the cast
- 50:43Speaker 2: and everything talking obviously some old clips, I think, maybe
- 50:47Speaker 2: some newer stuff too, and then yeah, it's always great
- 50:51Speaker 2: to hear them talking. So yeah, that was this year's
- 50:57Speaker 2: Back to Hogwarts showcase. Sonos. So last episode we asked
- 51:07Speaker 2: which magical object would you like to know more about
- 51:09Speaker 2: and why, and so FeliCa said, the Veil, darn it,
- 51:16Speaker 2: And I'm just like, oh my goodness, Like why we
- 51:18Speaker 2: never we didn't think about that. I know we talked,
- 51:20Speaker 2: we've talked about the Veil and some other you know,
- 51:22Speaker 2: some other episodes. But yeah, Felicia says that she was
- 51:27Speaker 2: certain that we would learn more about those voices and
- 51:29Speaker 2: why some members of Dumbledore's army can hear them and
- 51:32Speaker 2: others can't and deathly hallows, and was so disappointed that
- 51:35Speaker 2: it remained so mysterious. But I suppose life after death
- 51:38Speaker 2: is a mystery in our world too, and one that
- 51:41Speaker 2: Rowling never really tried to explain in her world either. Also,
- 51:45Speaker 2: dark detectors, I just feel like we don't learn much
- 51:48Speaker 2: about them, so I'd love to know more. They seem
- 51:50Speaker 2: like interesting objects that might benefit magical law enforcement patrol
- 51:54Speaker 2: in their work. Yeah, I agree, and from Jerry, Jerry
- 52:01Speaker 2: shared on careful consideration, I do think that my interest
- 52:04Speaker 2: in those objects that are bigger on the inside is
- 52:07Speaker 2: still my major interest. Jerry, are you a doctor who
- 52:10Speaker 2: fan too? I'm curious, but yeah, so, Jerry says so.
- 52:15Speaker 2: From the tents used at the World Cup to Hermione's
- 52:18Speaker 2: beaded bag, and as I recall, even the Hogwarts trunks
- 52:21Speaker 2: have been somewhat magically modified from regular trunks to be
- 52:24Speaker 2: lighter and hold more so that all needed supplies can
- 52:27Speaker 2: be taken with relative ease. I think I read that
- 52:30Speaker 2: on Pottermore back in the day. These are so very useful.
- 52:33Speaker 2: I want to have a small fanny pack that has
- 52:35Speaker 2: the attributes of that beaded bag to take on my
- 52:38Speaker 2: trip to Universal next week.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Oh that's right. Jerry is probably currently listening to this
- 52:45Speaker 1: in line at at the Universe. Shout out, Jerry, hope
- 52:49Speaker 1: your trip's going well.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Yes, I'm so excited to hear what you think about
- 52:53Speaker 2: epic Jerry and I also agree with this because, as
- 52:57Speaker 2: Amy can attest our last trip, I had such a
- 53:00Speaker 2: hard time getting all my stuff to fit in my
- 53:02Speaker 2: little backpack. And I would love this too, Jerry absolutely.
- 53:08Speaker 2: And so yeah, Jerry said, both luggage for the trip
- 53:10Speaker 2: and for the ultimate park bag agreed. She also says
- 53:15Speaker 2: in tents like the one mister W borrowed from Perkins
- 53:18Speaker 2: at the office. Also, I love referring to him as
- 53:22Speaker 2: mister W. I love that could be a big help
- 53:25Speaker 2: with dealing with homelessness. A ps one, thinking about Dumbledore's
- 53:30Speaker 2: put Outer, did you remember the uses we saw being
- 53:32Speaker 2: made of it in the Fantastic Beast films. My theory
- 53:35Speaker 2: about the put Outer is that Dumbledore first invented it
- 53:38Speaker 2: to simply put out and then restore light, but that
- 53:40Speaker 2: he was able to then make modifications on the fly
- 53:43Speaker 2: to let it do more as needed, including a final
- 53:46Speaker 2: modification made shortly before his death as he was modifying
- 53:49Speaker 2: his will to suit his final plans to let it
- 53:52Speaker 2: help Ron return to his friends at need.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that would make sense.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, it's always very very good thoughts from our listeners.
- 54:05Speaker 2: And so for this episode. We want to know which
- 54:09Speaker 2: piece of the back to Hogwarts twenty twenty five news
- 54:12Speaker 2: are you most excited about.
- 54:16Speaker 1: We would love to hear from you, so drop us
- 54:18Speaker 1: an email at Revellio Podcast staff at gmail dot com,

- 54:37Speaker 1: Patreon at Patreon dot com slash Revellio Podcast. Next episode,
- 54:44Speaker 1: as we said, will be our regular release schedule, so
- 54:48Speaker 1: September eighteenth and Tom should be back with us and
- 54:52Speaker 1: we will hear all about the Goblet of fire stuff
- 54:56Speaker 1: at the studio tour. I'm sure. Yeah. Until next time,
- 55:03Speaker 1: I'm Amy and I'm the Call Mischief Managed
