- 0:13class at the Westport Westin YMCA, you already know.
- 0:16She brings the heat, the energy, and the best beats that make you want to move.
- 0:21But before she became the Queen of Step, Corey built a career in the fashion
- 0:25world working with brands like Mulberry and Weldon.
- 0:28She's got a story full of unexpected turns, saying yes to opportunities,
- 0:33and creating a community wherever she goes.

- 0:40And trust me, you don't want to miss this conversation.
- 0:43So get cozy as we connect, learn, and laugh together on She's Smart.
- 0:48Music.
- 0:55When's your birthday i'm a capricorn you're a capricorn yeah
- 0:58december 23rd me and jesus and i am in good company let me tell you do you still
- 1:03go to the church by the way i do whenever we're home the kids scheduled for
- 1:07snowboarding in the winter oh are they both snowboarders they're both competitive
- 1:10snowboarders get out yeah so why did i start this two years ago i was like it
- 1:14just came to me i have these amazing conversations with women all the time.
- 1:18We need more of those. So I made a list. I love it. I made a hundred women.
- 1:23And I made the hundred. And you were on the list. And I was like,
- 1:27oh, but wait, let's be real here.
- 1:29I made the women that I was like new. I'm like, all of these women will come and hang out with me.
- 1:34And then I have my wish list of women, like real reaches. But why not?
- 1:39Like I put it all on there. it has never felt so right it was like styling it just,
- 1:45there was all ease to it hard work I've had to work hard to understand this
- 1:50I produced the whole thing myself I do all of it and I love it and it's like
- 1:53a new experience and I get to sit with these,
- 1:56incredible women who make me smarter. This is the best part.
- 1:59As I was doing this, I was like, oh shit, I need to start reading.
- 2:04I feel like I'm smart a little bit going into this and understand what's going on in the world.
- 2:11So that really kickstarted. It kind of pushed you a little bit.
- 2:13It absolutely has. I'm not a big reader either.
- 2:16So that is something that I felt like when you're in those conversations,
- 2:18like, yeah, I totally know what you're talking about.
- 2:21So I got I'm not going to fake it. I didn't go to MIT. Yeah, I went to FIT.
- 2:26I went to Boulder and then the fashion students here. Yeah, perfect.
- 2:28But it really did invigorate me.
- 2:30A friend of mine started a book club in Weston. I was so intimidated because
- 2:34these women were just, like, there are people under the radar that you're like, they are scholars.
- 2:40I sat in one of the book clubs and I'm like, I really need to get my shit together.
- 2:43Because, like, I thought I was okay. These women are freaking smart and insightful.
- 2:47But it's inspiration for you. And it's like, what else is out there?
- 2:51What else can I learn? What else can I do?
- 2:54Because if you're in your own little bubble, right, and you knew something for
- 2:57so long, and then it's like, let me tap into a little something else,
- 3:00say yes to an opportunity I never would have thought of, and boom.
- 3:03Which is how you got to where you are. Yes, it's true. Okay,
- 3:07so I want to know, you grew up in Westport. I grew up in Westport.
- 3:11Tell me about growing up in Westport. It was awesome. My mom is no longer with
- 3:15us. It'll be six years in March.
- 3:17Miss her every day. She's the one that used to drive through Westport when she was a kid.
- 3:21They lived in City Island in the Bronx, and I'm a baby of four kids.
- 3:24My mom used to drive with her family.
- 3:27She started kind of outreaching to Westport.
- 3:30She found this house on Fairfield Avenue, the end of the cul-de-sac,
- 3:33basically decided that she was going to rent it without my dad's knowledge.
- 3:38My dad's one of 14 children.
- 3:40And all the sisters helped her move up to Westport.
- 3:44She had a candlelight dinner waiting for my dad and all the boxes unpacked because
- 3:49she wanted to be here that badly.
- 3:50She actually had my dad directions to get to his new house. That was 1980.
- 3:56They moved Memorial Day Week in 1980.
- 3:58Your mom was a badass. Yeah, she was.
- 4:01She didn't know. She didn't know. And it's funny because I feel like there's
- 4:05things of her just saying yes, doing stuff, jumping on opportunities.
- 4:08She just was like, I'm going to do it. then she did it.
- 4:11I think when I grew up here, obviously you don't know how good you have it until you come back.
- 4:16When I grew up here, the Westport Playhouse was huge.
- 4:18Paul Newman was a big thing. It was very much an artist community.
- 4:22Then it went through its ebbs and flows.
- 4:24And then downtown Main Street, we had Barneys, New York, which was hilarious
- 4:27because then it was like this influx of new money that came through in the late
- 4:31eighties. And then I went back to an artist community.
- 4:33I went to Beach School, which is now Camp Campo for many, many a summer.
- 4:38They used to have two-week sessions and they used to have like parents night
- 4:41at the end of the two weeks that we used to be like full-on rock
- 4:45out to all the things i keep being a champion for that
- 4:48need to bring that back i keep trying every time i see the director i'm like
- 4:52so uh when i was a kid so yeah so that hopefully makes it come back but it was
- 4:58great the population has not changed that much since i'm growing up here which
- 5:02is always wild to me yeah being as like so many people have moved in.
- 5:06I moved back 11 years ago and now going on 12 in October.
- 5:10I actually never thought I would move back. I was like, I'm moving to Europe.
- 5:15I'm moving to California. I didn't know where I was going. My husband and I
- 5:19lived in Brooklyn for 10 years and we were looking at a bigger place because
- 5:22we were pregnant with our first baby.
- 5:23I'm like, this is nuts. We're going to spend crazy money for a bigger apartment.
- 5:28We'd come up here on the weekends, every weekend to Westport to see all my family.
- 5:31I'm the baby of four. All my family's here. So he's like, cool.
- 5:35Family's all here. We're having a baby. This makes perfect sense.
- 5:38I was still working for Mulberry at the time, so I had to commute back and forth
- 5:40to the city. But we did it, and that's it.
- 5:43Been here now for 12 years. Isn't that crazy?
- 5:46Yeah, but growing up here was pretty magical. Like, now I see my girls.
- 5:49I mean, as you can tell, I'm rocking. I heart KHS.
- 5:52I'm on the exec board of PTA over at Kings Highway.
- 5:55It's not changed. I know. I'm like, wow, I'm really representing Westport right
- 5:59now without even thinking. What is your position on the executive I do all the social media.
- 6:04So I started with doing the fundraiser event for two years with them.
- 6:08And then now I do all the social for them. It's been great. They don't even bother me anymore.
- 6:12The funniest thing is that I teach Tuesdays and Fridays and our meetings are always on Tuesdays.
- 6:16So I have not been to a meeting and I can't even tell you how long. Just send an email.
- 6:20I have been PTO president of each school.
- 6:24I was president of Hurlbut. I was president of WIS. Oh my gosh.
- 6:28Because our elementary schools are two. Okay.
- 6:31Oh, okay. And now I'm president of the middle school PTO. I can't seem to say no or leave it. Yeah.
- 6:38Yeah. I know. Once you're in, that's it. You just keep going through.
- 6:41You have the same group of women.
- 6:43Always volunteer. It's the same group of women. Always same group of women.
- 6:45So my mom, when she moved to our hometown of Orinda, which is very much like
- 6:51Westport or Weston, it is very affluent.
- 6:53The parents are very well educated. They all do really well.
- 6:57And my mom was this very young mom. She was 20 when she got married.
- 7:01That was my mom. She was a baby. Same thing. Babies having babies.
- 7:04She was 20 years old, and they show up to their house in Orinda,
- 7:09which is this very, you know, fancy place.
- 7:11Even we didn't have a fancy house. We had fancy people. Yeah.
- 7:14But my mom opens the door one day, and this group of women...
- 7:19Are like, hi, welcome to Arenda. Like it was like something right out of a movie,
- 7:23something right out of a movie.
- 7:25And I can't remember what she called it. It was like the welcome wagon.
- 7:27Yeah. They got married in 75.
- 7:29The welcome wagon shows up at the house. My mom is this 20 year old who's like, hi.
- 7:35And she's like, so he doesn't know what to do. But she joined everything.
- 7:39She did everything. Then she eventually became a teacher.
- 7:41But she did everything. And she told me, you will when you start doing this
- 7:47there will be one group of women and they will do everything all the time and
- 7:52you will follow each other through high school.
- 7:55Literally I got goosebumps because my mom said to me I'm like mom are you in here? She might be.
- 7:59So my mom would always say to me growing up she's like the group of women that
- 8:03you meet when your kids are young and the more you get involved and do things
- 8:06that is going to be your crew.
- 8:08I met my crew when Dakota was three and it's been almost 10 years now. It's wild.
- 8:15Amazing, right? Yeah. Total goosebumps from head to toe at that one.
- 8:18She might be here. I have a lot of spirits that visit.
- 8:20All the time. Does your mom visit? She does. I smell her a lot.
- 8:25Oh, you get the smell? Oh, yeah. My mom wore knowing perfume.
- 8:29Yeah. My mom wore knowing perfume. There's so many Sims right now.
- 8:33My mom wore knowing and beautiful. Still does. Come on. Knowing and beautiful.
- 8:36Come on. Okay. So that's what my mother-in-law wears. She wears beautiful in the summer.
- 8:40She wears knowing in the winter. and I had no idea she were knowing and she
- 8:43came to stay at our house not that long ago and I was like, wait a second.
- 8:47I was like, how did I never know that you've worn? I know my husband would be
- 8:51together 20 years this year.
- 8:52I'm like, how is it that I never knew you wore it? So we go to the same church.
- 8:57And when my mom first passed the first month, I would sit there and I would
- 9:03just constantly smell her all the time.
- 9:05There was a woman that used to come to church and she would wear all white and
- 9:09she would just sort of float in and out of church. It was wild.
- 9:12I would see her around town and it was like there was
- 9:15some sort of presence about her it was pretty
- 9:17incredible so my mom definitely makes her appearance i
- 9:21believe in like the penny thing she leaves me pennies all the
- 9:23time i smell her all the time yeah it's pretty
- 9:26magical smell is it's pretty wild it's only happened to me once and when it
- 9:32did i had to call my dad because i thought something happened because i'm really
- 9:35into my spirits i know when they're in rooms i can feel it i'm so good with
- 9:39it my dad had a sister she was our lala and we were all incredibly close.
- 9:46She was an amazing human being a saint.
- 9:48She passed away when I was in college. I was at the front door in Weston.
- 9:53I go to open it and all of a sudden her scent flooded the room.
- 9:58Isn't that incredible? She comes back as a butterfly. So I know I see her.
- 10:01She's always around. I have a butterfly tattoo.
- 10:03She's always around. I picked up the phone. I was like, Daddy,
- 10:06is everyone okay? He's like, yeah. I'm like, I just smelled Lala. He goes, okay.
- 10:10Are you all right? My dad is an 84-year-old Italian man. Oh, my gosh.
- 10:15I love it. You know, I tell my sister and I are all like these wackadoo things.
- 10:18And he's like, okay, guys. Okay, ladies.
- 10:19Sure. Sure. You smell dark. Are you okay? Yeah. Is everyone okay?
- 10:22Did someone just pass through? And I don't know about it. And he goes,
- 10:24no, everyone's fine. I'm like, mommy, okay? Yeah. He's like, mom's fine.
- 10:27Call my sister. Sister, are you good? Kids good? Everyone's okay?
- 10:30Like, we all right? You felt such a strong sense of spirit. I've never smelled someone.
- 10:35It's pretty wild. I remember once I was at, what was it, granola bar or something.
- 10:39I was passing this woman and I smelt it so strong. And I said to her,
- 10:44I'm sorry, I have to ask you. She said she was wearing the perfume.
- 10:47It's like my mom just pops up in these random ways.
- 10:50I thank her every day for being here because being back in West.
- 10:55It's such a magical place.
- 10:57And it's, again, like something that I didn't necessarily appreciate as much growing up.
- 11:01But the community that I've created with what I'm doing now and with my kids,
- 11:05it's just next level. I don't know if I could be somewhere else right now.
- 11:08I feel like a total champion for the town. My girlfriends crack up.
- 11:13They're like, you know, you're the mayor.
- 11:16My parents were the same. They were 19 and 20 when I got married.
- 11:19And I'm the baby of four kids. And my mom was 20 when she had my sister.
- 11:23She was 33 by the time she had me.
- 11:25I went to Earthplace Nature Center when I was a kid. They used to have a crystal
- 11:29shop in the front. They had all the rocks and the gems and all the things.
- 11:33I remember my mom going there, and all these moms were like their first time
- 11:37bringing their kid there.
- 11:38My mom's like, oh, no, I got three more at home. They were shocked because she
- 11:41was such a baby with former kids. Wow. So you went to Staples?
- 11:44Went to Staples. I did all of it. What drew you to FIT?
- 11:49So I was the girl growing up that got all the magazines, got very into fashion,
- 11:54a very young age, loved it all.
- 11:57When I was in high school, if you went to Staples, it was like almost an automatic
- 12:02in if you were applying for schools.
- 12:03You kind of had an edge when you were going, you know.
- 12:06So my parents were funny. Italian dad, my mom was a mutt, you know,
- 12:10same thing. They never really pushed college.
- 12:13Like that was something that they were like, okay, we need to sit down.
- 12:16My sister went, she did four years up near Yale. It was not something they really pushed.
- 12:21Who knows? I don't know if that's a good thing or not. It's just too much. Yeah, just what it was.
- 12:26So after high school, I applied to some schools, but I wasn't super serious about it.
- 12:31My sister had her first baby, and she moved down to Texas for her husband's career.
- 12:37My parents, because my nephew was the first grandchild, decided to help take care of things.
- 12:43In Texas, the cost of living was next to nothing, and they built a house.
- 12:48There was all these new houses in this cul-de-sac area. So my parents decided
- 12:51instead of staying in a hotel every time, they were going to buy a second house
- 12:54like five doors down from my sister.
- 12:56Makes perfect sense. My sister, because she just had her first baby,
- 12:59she was trying to figure out, she was a working woman.
- 13:02She's like, I need to be home with the baby. So she said, Cora,
- 13:04would you have any interest? I know you're trying to figure out your next move.
- 13:07Would you want to run a daycare center with me?
- 13:09And I was like, I have no experience. She goes, you have to take the first aid
- 13:14course. I said, all right, did that.
- 13:16I moved to Texas. I was 18, going on 19 at the time.
- 13:20We ran a daycare center for a year out of our house, seven to five every day,
- 13:25taking care of five babies.
- 13:27And I mean, it was hilarious. I'm like, OK, I was like a babysitter, thick.
- 13:31Like my dad did not let me go out like during the high school days.
- 13:34I was like the one with the 10 o'clock curfew. So I babysat,
- 13:38made money and did all the things. So I had all the child experience already.
- 13:41Then I was like, I got to figure something out. So I took some classes down
- 13:44there when I was living in Texas, just like a community college.
- 13:47Then when I moved back home, I was like, all right, I think I actually want to like
- 13:52go more into this. And I commuted back and forth to FIT. I never lived in the
- 13:55dorms. I never did the whole full college experience.
- 13:59That's the one regret I do have in my life, not doing the full on college experience.
- 14:04All my experiences come from my work experience, from people,
- 14:07like connections, like that's sort of how my path is always. You love it?
- 14:11I did. I did. I felt like I probably could have given it a little extra move,
- 14:16to be honest. I think I enjoy working more than the education side.
- 14:21I think as I've come into my own, I'm craving knowledge more than I did when I was younger.
- 14:27I definitely enjoyed it. It was fun. I learned some things. I worked in retail.
- 14:31Then I was a buyer for Intermix for many years.
- 14:35I know. It's a story. I know. I loved Intermix. I loved it. So sad.
- 14:39Yeah. So I was like assistant buyer.
- 14:41Then my other life before my
- 14:43husband, I was with somebody for a very long time who was a photographer.
- 14:46Photographer I would do styling gigs I was an assistant stylist with
- 14:49him on different things and then I was like that's it I'm
- 14:52leaving this job I'm going to be a full-time stylist me and like
- 14:547,000 other girls my age I was like I don't
- 14:57know how it's gonna happen so my mom was like listen we don't
- 15:00want you to leave I was like well if I'm gonna stay with the company I
- 15:03don't want to stay in the store I want to go corporate and I get no experience
- 15:07but you're like but this is what I'm gonna do I can do that I have no experience
- 15:10whatsoever so they're like we're gonna put you as an assistant and I was an
- 15:13assistant for a while and I was the assistant buyer and then I was the buyer
- 15:17for all the accessories and that was super fun and then that kind of ran the course.
- 15:22Literally every single thing that I've done it's just sort of like migrated
- 15:26from something else like it's just sort of these opportunities of.
- 15:30Arisen. And I'm like, okay, let's try this. When I look back at my past and
- 15:34what I've done, like the career with Mulberry, I was with my parents going to the movie.
- 15:41I got a phone call from this guy that I met. We used to go to all the free concerts
- 15:45in Williamsburg on Sundays, like the best shows ever.
- 15:48He randomly calls me on a Sunday and he's like, hey, I don't know if you remember
- 15:52me, but there's a girl that I know that she's leaving.
- 15:55She works for this brand mulberry i don't know if you know them i'm
- 15:58like yes i definitely know them because we were buying them at the
- 16:01time at intermix i was like i totally know the brand he's like
- 16:04yeah they're looking someone to run the wholesale division and
- 16:07i had sales in my background so i was like okay i went
- 16:10and met with them and the guy that was interviewing me was amazing work husband
- 16:15loved him we hit it off we knew people that knew people and like that was it
- 16:19every single step like one of my welding days it was waiting for my daughter
- 16:24at ballet like she was doing ballet all the moms are sitting together in the waiting room.
- 16:28What are you doing right now? I'm trying to figure out my next move.
- 16:31You should totally talk to my friend.
- 16:32She's just started a handbag company. I'm like, handbag company.
- 16:35She's making bags out of, you know, Norwalk, whatever it is.
- 16:38Look at the website. I'm like, oh, I need to be part of that.
- 16:40Met with her. And that was it. It was the two of us that did the business together.
- 16:43You jumped in the building.
- 16:44Yes. It was literally like, hey, I know my friend who's doing this.
- 16:49You should totally talk to her. The universe, definitely.
- 16:53And the same thing what I'm doing now. It was literally like out of the blue.
- 16:57So not to say this is the way for anyone to run their life, but it's worked.
- 17:02It's worked for me so far. So everyone knows today I took Corey's step class
- 17:06and that is a vibe in there.
- 17:11Thank you. It is like a...
- 17:14Spin class in such that you are in a rabbit hole.
- 17:18It is dark, but not so dark you can't see your step. Don't worry.
- 17:21Everyone's safe. It's on the darker side.
- 17:23The music is blasting. Blasting. Blasting.
- 17:27The best beats that simmer into your being. Every part of you wants to move with them.
- 17:32The steps that you do in the step class, you can follow them.
- 17:36There are some that I've seen online where they're doing full-on hip-hop dances
- 17:40on the steps, and I'm like, That would be a goal, but probably not safe for
- 17:44most of us. Yeah, totally.
- 17:45So I, and by the way, it's packed. It is completely waitlisted.
- 17:50How many people are in that room? So it maxes out at 43.
- 17:54The most I've had on the waitlist to date has been upwards. So almost 40 people
- 17:59on the waitlist. Holy shit!
- 18:00Yeah, so it's kind of bananas to me though, because this Friday is two years
- 18:05that I've been teaching the class.
- 18:06Yeah. The funniest part about the whole thing is that I have not really changed
- 18:10up the routine that much since I started.
- 18:12I'll integrate some things here and there. I will definitely switch up the music,
- 18:16but that opening song has been the same since day one.
- 18:20I'm still surprised every week that there's still this many people showing up every week.
- 18:25These women and a few men. And a few men. Yeah. So now there's definitely been
- 18:28more men coming into classes.
- 18:29At the end of it, it's they're telling, you know, they're like Corey,
- 18:33like, and there's women that take like multiple classes that I know what they do.
- 18:36And they've told me every single
- 18:38time they're like, I've never sweat so much that I do in this class.
- 18:41And I'm like, thank you. And this is coming off never teaching a class.
- 18:45That is amazing because your energy up there is that of a sexy dancer ballerina
- 18:53who knows your body. You know how it moves.
- 18:56Your energy just comes out of that stage.
- 18:59Oh, thank you. You want to be like, yes, let's keep going. Let's keep going.
- 19:05And then there's one move where you step over the step and do a turn and your hand comes up.
- 19:10Every time I did it, I was like, yes. Slipping my ass out a little bit.
- 19:15I was like, I feel like we all need to be doing this more.
- 19:18It's like your little flamenco move. It felt so freeing. Yeah.
- 19:21And it was, I enjoyed it so very much.
- 19:24I'm so happy. And I want other people to, well, you can't get in,
- 19:27but you got to join the Y. And it happened.
- 19:31Okay. So I give you a little insight as to how it came about.
- 19:34We were doing the rounds of Christmas parties.
- 19:36That particular year, we had so many. The very last one we were supposed to
- 19:39go to was on a Monday night. Our babysitter canceled, and it was raining.
- 19:43I said to my husband, honey, I just don't think I'm going to sit this one out.
- 19:46He's like, this is the one I actually need you to go to. I was like, oh, why?
- 19:52So we go to the party, and the woman who was in charge of all the things at the Y was
- 19:58approach. She was making small talk and doing all the things, making her rounds.
- 20:01We started talking and she said to me, basically, Corey, what do you do with
- 20:05the Y? And I said, you mean for workouts? I said, well, I do my own thing.
- 20:09I used to do Tracy Anderson, aka Trey Trey for many years. I said,
- 20:13I've always loved fitness.
- 20:14I was the one memorizing Jane Fonda on a mound of dirt. My dad has videos of
- 20:18me at the age of seven when we're doing construction.
- 20:20Oh yeah. I have all the things at the house. I did all the things growing up.
- 20:25So when she asked me, I was like, yeah, I just do this, this, and this.
- 20:28And she goes, well, would you ever want to teach a class? And I said,
- 20:31I have no experience teaching whatsoever. She's like, that's okay.
- 20:35She goes, a lot of it's just the energy that you portray.
- 20:38She said, you'd have to audition. She goes, it's not just like you've got the
- 20:42gig and that's it. She goes, you'd have to audition. Let's see where it goes.
- 20:45I was like, all right. And I remember turning to my husband and going,
- 20:48I'm going to be a fitness teacher.
- 20:51He's like, what? I was like, yeah. And then we had a couple of our buddies at
- 20:55the party. are good friends of ours.
- 20:57I go, guys, I'm going to be a fitness. They're like, oh yeah,
- 20:59okay, Cora, you sure? And my husband's like, he tells the story differently.
- 21:02He's like, I said to you, it makes perfect sense. I'm like, really?
- 21:05I don't remember that part.
- 21:06So then she's like, okay, the audition date's going to be in a month and a half
- 21:10and we'll kind of see where it goes.
- 21:12So I have a video. It's hysterical. I was looking at it yesterday.
- 21:15I ordered a step and I was trying to remember routines they used to do back in the day.
- 21:21I would set up my iPad and videotape myself to see how it looked and start creating routines.
- 21:26And the music is something I've always had a serious love.
- 21:31Like music is my husband. I love language. We've like go to so many shows and all the things.
- 21:35So I was like, okay, if I'm going to do this, I'm not going to do typical pop
- 21:39music. I'm not going to do whatever.
- 21:40I was like, I'd want to do really the music that I love. If they're giving me
- 21:43full ownership over this to do it. And they asked, what would you teach?
- 21:46I said, I would teach step.
- 21:47I remember that I loved it when I took it.
- 21:50I remember the sweat I got, the energy it brought i
- 21:53was like i think i want to bring that back because i don't know if
- 21:55anyone that's doing it so that was it and
- 21:58i created a whole routine and practiced it they said okay you've got this date
- 22:03you're coming in for the audition i thought i was doing it for one person i
- 22:05come in and i see three little benches set up like oh shit i gotta teach a mini
- 22:11class so it was a 20 minute little
- 22:13tea yeah oh yeah your audition was actually a little tiny mini class,
- 22:17So I did it. And I get an email the next day. Congratulations.
- 22:20You're on. I was like, OK, this is happening. Let's go.
- 22:23So they're like, hey, you're going to be this. How about Tuesday?
- 22:26I was like, sure, that sounds great. They originally put me in the smaller studio, max out at 20.
- 22:30And I get a call or email a couple of days before. They're like,
- 22:34that's at capacity already. We're going to put you in the bigger studio.
- 22:38You're going to be on a stage and you're going to have them like, what?
- 22:42I was like, what am I doing? I remember that day my nerves
- 22:45were just at like I knew I'd practice
- 22:48so many times I used to write all my moves I'd write the song
- 22:51and I would write the moves all down in front
- 22:54of me in case I forgot anything yeah I had an iPad in front of me with my self-recorded
- 22:58just in case I forgot anything I was the first day that I taught my music it
- 23:03bounced all around I was like oh my god my nerves got the best of me and that
- 23:07was day one and literally after that day it just became consistent and the class
- 23:12was continuing to be full.
- 23:13So then they asked me, do you want to teach a second class? And I said,
- 23:16okay. And I originally started with a Saturday.
- 23:19I did that for about a month. And then I was like, no, it was in the smaller studio.
- 23:23And I said, it's just not the same thing. I said, I'm just going to do the one
- 23:26class. And they're like, you can't, you have to teach.
- 23:30So there was somebody that was teaching on Fridays and I guess it wasn't a very attended class.
- 23:35That's the spot that I'm teaching on Fridays now. So I've been doing it for
- 23:39almost two years. It's insane to see how everyone comes together so beautifully.
- 23:44I've been told, I had like a year ago, I had people, I forget what I called
- 23:48it, but I had a jar and I said, if there's anything that you feel from this
- 23:52class, I would love to know because it only helps me with you guys.
- 23:55So just like the most beautiful messages, the most beautiful words. And
- 23:59Yes, it's a great workout. You sweat your butt off. But people really talking
- 24:03about like, I feel completely different after this or I was having such a shitty
- 24:06morning and I'm leaving with such a buzz. It's the best way to start my day.
- 24:10Have that is just so cool. And like people have made there's two women in my
- 24:15class that I just I mean, it's incredible.
- 24:17The demographic in the class is not a bunch of teenagers with hard bodies.
- 24:21You get everything from a young girl to I think the top age in my class is like
- 24:2675 years old. It's a vast group of women.
- 24:30These two women met in class and they're like soul sisters.
- 24:33They do everything together. And they're probably both late 60s.
- 24:37Literally, they are like soul sisters.
- 24:39There are women we've met in our class. I've met women that I've become really close to now.
- 24:45There's one that was brand new. She lives in Weston, brand new to the Y.
- 24:50Apparently, I was playing a Bjork song in my class and she's like,
- 24:52who is this bitch playing Bjork? Like, who the fuck plays Bjork in their class?
- 24:57She joined the class and she's diehard there twice a week.
- 25:01So my brain has been working overtime to think about what's next.
- 25:06What can I do next with this?
- 25:08A third class. Hybrid. A hybrid.
- 25:11Yeah. I love that. I think the reason I'm thinking more about it now,
- 25:15too, is if it wasn't a crazy waitlist, it'd be one thing.
- 25:17But I'm like, OK, I know that there's so many people that want to come.
- 25:21An entire other class wants to be there, Kori.
- 25:24Like, it's not just a few people on the waitlist. It's an entire other room.
- 25:28You know what? It's like at church and it's an overflow room.
- 25:31That is what you need to do. That's totally true. You just have someone who's
- 25:35monitoring it and the overflow room doesn't have you, but they have your video.
- 25:39And it's like synced in. That's amazing. And you're the overflow.
- 25:44That's amazing. That is the next step. Take me to church. I'll sit in the overflow
- 25:48room so I can get my good work.
- 25:50It's been incredible. When I was thinking about this whole thing,
- 25:53I'm like, just say yes. You just never know.
- 25:56Just say yes. The things that really have changed my trajectory of where I've
- 25:59gone next is just by saying yes.
- 26:01Knowing well that I had no experience in certain things. Like Mulberry,
- 26:05I had no experience running a whole country for wholesale at all.
- 26:09When I started with my other company, marketing was sort of an underwritten
- 26:13thing. If you get into, you know, you're a buyer or you're in sales,
- 26:16marketing goes along with it.
- 26:17But it wasn't something that I was like, oh, I've got my degree in marketing.
- 26:21It was like, yeah, sure, I can do this.
- 26:23It's truly fake it to me. It's unreal. My friends always joke around with me.
- 26:27I remember going to Brooklyn and being a stylist, loving fashion. I love fashion.
- 26:31But seeing something on the rack and just knowing it's going to work without trying it on.
- 26:35My friends always bust me for this one. like we went to
- 26:38all there was like eight of us that went to brooklyn one night and we go into one
- 26:40of those amazing tibetan shops right on bedford i saw
- 26:43this outfit and didn't try it on and they were cracking up they're
- 26:46like are you freaking kidding me cory i was like nope it's gonna work
- 26:49it's good went to a wedding never tried on the dress that my dear friend at
- 26:53the time he was a designer he just brought it with him like yeah it's fine it'll
- 26:57work the flow works the flow i'm trying and when i feel that flow i try to really
- 27:02step into it as much as i can so what has changed about you or in you since you started teaching.
- 27:09Because it's the fitness is you've got to be alert.
- 27:13You've got to be on your A-game. You could have a crappy day,
- 27:15but it's not going to go very well if you're in there and feeling like shit. Oh, girl.
- 27:18There have been days. As women, we know what that feels like when that time
- 27:22of the month comes. And I can't just be like, I'm not showing up. I still have to show up.
- 27:25You still have to bring it. You still have to bring the energy.
- 27:28You still have to do all the things. So what's changed me?
- 27:31One thing that I know for me, which is funny because I've never been a runner.
- 27:34Cardio is something that I enjoy, but it's felt like a little wind.
- 27:38It's wild. so I think the class and I've
- 27:41heard this from a lot of people too there's one woman that comes to my class and
- 27:44she's like it's helped me so much with that as far as my
- 27:47endurance so I think my endurance definitely is majorly changed
- 27:51I definitely can see how it's changed over the course of the two years since
- 27:54I've been doing this for sure they always joke around with me I'm like just
- 27:58focus on what you need to focus they're like most of the time I'm focusing your
- 28:01ass like whatever it takes whatever it takes focus on so I mean it's good like
- 28:06whatever you need to do it.
- 28:08But you're right, though. I think that you have to like you're balancing a lot
- 28:11of stuff. You have to be quick to move to the next thing.
- 28:15Maybe it's part of like my routine not changing that much. It's funny because
- 28:18I don't have to think that much anymore.
- 28:20But you do have to be on your toes. I'm also very alert as far as what's happening
- 28:24in the classroom. Right.
- 28:26Yeah. It's a lot of people to check and make sure everyone's doing it correctly.
- 28:29So and I think facing the mirror is super helpful because I'm in the zone.
- 28:32So I think if I was facing everybody, I would be more conscious,
- 28:36but the fact that I lock into the zone, I encourage everybody to do the same.
- 28:40It's brought a lot of happiness.
- 28:42I've been told I'm a very good community builder, like introducing people to
- 28:46other people that they've become best friends or whatever.
- 28:48And I think that's been, you know, just blown out of the water with this class,
- 28:52making sure that people feel good. You know, it can be intimidating.
- 28:55You walk into a new situation, especially a bunch of women.
- 28:58Yeah. And if they know it, it makes you feel like, oh, and just,
- 29:01yeah, creating that really comfortable, warm hug when they walk in,
- 29:04just wanting them to feel good and
- 29:06No judgment, no anything. I really like that. It's a cool place.
- 29:10It's not like your regular why. It's a cool why. Yeah, it's a cool why.
- 29:12I asked three questions at the end.
- 29:15So the first question is, what have you changed your mind about recently?
- 29:19I think the first thing that comes to my mind would probably actually be drinking. Okay.
- 29:24That kind of goes off what I just said. My birthday is October,
- 29:26and I really wanted to create the best version of myself.
- 29:32There is a woman 10 doors down from you that does
- 29:35a lot of functional medicine and so forth and my dear friend's been
- 29:37seeing her for years and has totally changed her whole thing so it
- 29:41sounds terrible no sugar no wheat no life basically
- 29:44what she first tells you so the only thing you can drink for alcohol is tequila
- 29:47and vodka and granted I love both but there's only so much I can drink of either
- 29:51one of them so I've sort of like pulled back a little bit my husband always
- 29:55says dry January I've always supported him in that but I'm like and right now
- 29:59is not as prevalent for me as it was. I've sort of changed my mind.
- 30:03Talk to me again in six months. I'm sure we're totally different.
- 30:06But for right now, that's taken like sort of... Not that I'm not drinking, but it's taken a pause.
- 30:10Not drinking wine, that's kind of not fun. Not drinking beer,
- 30:13that's kind of... I think that a lot of us are talking about this same thing.
- 30:17I have friends and we're like, don't do it as much anymore. It's not as prevalent.
- 30:21I don't know if it's an age thing, if we're just kind of growing out of it.
- 30:24Believe me, there are times when we definitely enjoy ourselves. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 30:27But it's just It's not as prevalent as it used to be. And I don't understand what's wrong with that.
- 30:34And I can tell you right now, I cannot drink champagne for the life of me anymore.
- 30:38I have a glass, half a glass, four sips. I will have a wicked headache the next day.
- 30:43My body doesn't like it. I can drink tequila and I can drink a glass of red.
- 30:47And sometimes I can and can't because I have rosacea and sometimes I like beet red afterwards.
- 30:53But tequila never bothers me. And neither does vodka. Isn't that funny?
- 30:56So it's, yeah, and I mean, now the F, you know, it's coming out.
- 31:00We didn't know it was bad for you. It's poison.
- 31:02Talk about that for a second. Y'all knew that it's not good for you.
- 31:05We see what happens when you're in high school and they're like,
- 31:07don't drink. Here's what a liver looks like. No.
- 31:09Drinking, not drinking. Don't tan. Don't go out in the cell. You're like, but why?
- 31:13You know, so we know all the things. Let's not be shocked. They like put it
- 31:16out there. No, for sure. But I also found that I do a moist January.
- 31:21So I basically go back to normal. Yeah. I go back to just like during the week,
- 31:26I'm awake, alert, and I have to be.
- 31:28And now the kids are so incredibly busy with showboarding.
- 31:30I can't be on a mountain and not be 100% because when they launch themselves
- 31:34off of 50-foot jumps, I have to be alert.
- 31:37Yes. And because otherwise, I don't know what I would do.
- 31:41But I do find that a couple weeks in just feel so much better.
- 31:47We go through a stint between October 31st, which is the party at this house.
- 31:52And then all of a sudden it's January 1st and you have not stopped.
- 31:58Oh, no, you don't stop. And you have to be functional and you're trying to do
- 32:01other things. I'm like, no. Good.
- 32:02Guys, I'm good. It is true. Our dear friend throws a...
- 32:06Bananas Halloween party every year, the kickoff. I still love drinking.
- 32:11Recently, I'm like, all right, I think it's because I have all these guidelines for my health.
- 32:15So I'm like, all right, I've never read labels like I've read them before now. Oh my God.
- 32:19Yeah. So I'm just more in tune to this stuff. That's pretty amazing.
- 32:23That's a good, cool change.
- 32:24It is a cool change. It feels very empowering to know exactly what you're doing for yourself.
- 32:29I make a wicked protein breakfast bar now that I make twice.
- 32:32It's the easiest thing on the planet to make.
- 32:35It's like next to nothing ingredients it's so easy
- 32:38all right just share that with me at some point i make protein bowls every stick
- 32:41them in the freezer it's so good it's so good it's so easy
- 32:44and it's so funny because i think like last year i was saying to myself i definitely
- 32:48want to cook more my mom was a huge cook my sister's an amazing cook my brother's
- 32:52an amazing cook my other brother not so much i was like all right i really want
- 32:56to get into this being more in tune to what i'm doing for myself is really i
- 32:59want to be in the kitchen more i want to do more for my family in that regard
- 33:02and And before it was like, eh.
- 33:04That's such a great ginger. It is really good. So awesome. And it's cool to share with my family.
- 33:08And it's cool for them to see it and my girls to see it. I'm sure my kids would
- 33:11be happy if I didn't look at the lame.
- 33:14I get in trouble because I'm the one who brings the organic gummy bears to things.
- 33:19Told by one wife in particular, love you, that I'm not allowed to bring the candy.
- 33:24Because it is not real candy. Yeah, I know. It is the Whole Foods organic. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 33:30My daughter, who's seven, told me the other day that we were on a walk together
- 33:34and she said, I really need you to put some real candy in my lunch. She was embarrassed.
- 33:38She's like, Mom, all the kids have proper candy.
- 33:41And she's like, healthy sugar, Mom? No.
- 33:44Now that Red Dye's being banned, it's all going to be okay. And you can go back
- 33:48to M&M's and it's going to be fine. Totally.
- 33:51So what is the most random or interesting thing on your bucket list?
- 33:55I was thinking about this. I've always wanted to get an aura reading.
- 33:57There was an amazing woman in New York City. I can't remember her name now,
- 34:01but she went and got it done with her husband.
- 34:03There's something about that that I'm like...
- 34:06You know what you feel, you know what you are, you know all the things,
- 34:09but to have someone really get in there and be like, I see all the things and all this stuff.
- 34:14So I think that's probably my most random. And there's, I don't know if she
- 34:18still does it, but she was like down in Soho and this amazing like goddess guru and all the things.
- 34:23My girlfriend, she does something in Westport that she's incredible and she
- 34:27runs circles and all this stuff.
- 34:29Goddess circle. It's incredible. I still have not gone to one.
- 34:33You need to go. And it literally for two years, I get the emails. It's been on my list.
- 34:38I will get there. It is going to happen. It will happen. And that will happen.
- 34:41And then I want to do the combination of the ice bath and the sauna. Yep.
- 34:47Because I'm like that with Ginger. I'm like, that's going to happen. Yep.
- 34:51She's got, well, she's doing one. She's got like two spots left. I can't go to it.
- 34:56Just like this. It will happen. I know. It will happen. Just like this.
- 35:00It's really, it's pretty amazing. It's very cool. She's transformed a lot of
- 35:03women. She runs like a circle every Tuesday now. these really amazing containers.
- 35:06This woman was sort of her inspiration.
- 35:08I remember when she told us she was going to do these, she said,
- 35:11back in the day, I mean, this is many years ago. She's like,
- 35:13guys, I think I want to do these goddess circles. We're like,
- 35:15what are you talking about?
- 35:16In the beginning, it's funny because when we first started doing them,
- 35:19we all bring wine, weed, food, and it's transformed completely.
- 35:24It's really about checking into yourself.
- 35:26This woman that she went to was sort of like her inspiration and she did this
- 35:30aura reading. I just think that'd be such a cool thing to do. My sister does circles.
- 35:34Does she? Oh, yeah, in California. Oh, I think you told me this before.
- 35:37She's a good full witch. Yes. She has her containers. Amazing.
- 35:39She puts one every morning. She does different circles.
- 35:43Of different types of things. Like when it's full moon, she does all her crystals
- 35:46out. She tells me what's happening with the moon.
- 35:49When we go away, we try to do a wives weekend. The seven of us.
- 35:52I love it. Every time we do it, I do a goddess circle for us. And my sister writes it.
- 35:57I love it. So Christina writes what we're going to say. Love it.
- 35:59And then I force everyone outside.
- 36:01I'm like, take the leaves and take the sage and we're going to build these packets.
- 36:06You're like. And they're just, they do it. They love it. And the canisters are
- 36:10still in our houses. Their daughters.
- 36:13Asked to do it. They do it too now. They have their own little book of spells.
- 36:17That's good. The magic is so real.
- 36:20I agree with you. Awesome. The magic is so real. I mean, I don't know about
- 36:24you. Are you affected by the full moon?
- 36:25I remember my mom used to say it about my dad. His mood would get a bit twitchy with the full moon.
- 36:30I always feel like when there's a full moon, at least it's me,
- 36:32I think it's your next thing.
- 36:33But the things that you have no qualms of saying at all,
- 36:39like you just feel your most like confident self
- 36:42it's something about the full moon every month it's just like you
- 36:45just don't give a shit it was a wolf moon the other day oh was it
- 36:48yeah it was this gorgeous orange okay thing
- 36:51and the girls texted like did you see this like it's a wolf moon and they're
- 36:55like what does this mean i'm like you have to go outside and howl right and
- 36:58one of the daughters was like howling do that and she's my spirit animal it's
- 37:03just wild and free it is it's just so And then I sent all the information about
- 37:08what it actually was and what you can do.
- 37:10And it all stems from my sister who...
- 37:13Has gone through this way of life where it really has helped her with coping
- 37:17and getting through everything. Does she have children, your sister? Yeah.
- 37:20And is she introducing all that to them? Oh, they know all of it.
- 37:22It's amazing. My niece, Aubrey, does her own canister. She has her own spell book.
- 37:27My nephew, Miles, does it. Her husband, Noah, is just like, whatever.
- 37:32She makes him go out into the woods and walk around on Christmas.
- 37:35And she's like, this is what we do now. Yes. That's what you do. Well, I will tell you,
- 37:38we went for a dear friend's birthday like extravaganza in
- 37:42an island last month was amazing lex ran
- 37:45a circle and it was guys and girls and it's the first time that she
- 37:48did it with our crew of guys she's done it before with guys that
- 37:51we don't know they've known that we've been doing this forever to
- 37:54see them really tuning in was pretty wild the
- 37:57energy from the men the masculine energy surrounding us
- 38:00was pretty wild you definitely felt a whole different situation
- 38:04got right in there and said the things all the
- 38:07support and stuff so yeah it's so surprising when
- 38:10they open up like that yes when they open up it is
- 38:13we had over new year's eve we did
- 38:17our family dinner like the wives and their kids and all of us and the kids were
- 38:21upstairs playing and my wife daniella she's not my actual wife wait guys you've
- 38:25been listening to all these episodes you know it's not my wife but one of my
- 38:28wives daniella my besties she creates the most amazing experiences when you
- 38:33go to her house for dinner party.
- 38:35She thinks about every detail and she's brilliant at it. So we're all sitting
- 38:39down for this beautiful meal.
- 38:41One of my other wives, Dawn, always asks great questions and she gets this whole
- 38:46conversation going. Love it.
- 38:47So the question, I can't remember the exact question, but everyone had to answer
- 38:50it. It was almost like, what would you keep and what would you get rid of? Okay.
- 38:54And everyone went around and even the guys were answering and they were the most honest answers.
- 39:03And like people had lost their, there were like dads that were,
- 39:06two dads that were lost this year. Like the husband's dad are gone.
- 39:09And they were all so open and vulnerable. And we're all just like, it's surprising.
- 39:14And then at one point we're like, we need to all go have a dance party now because it's heavy.
- 39:18This is, yeah, we all, this love is big and there's a lot and we're just going
- 39:22to go. And then we all just went and had a big dance. Awesome.
- 39:24But it was very cool to see them open up with other people.
- 39:27The fact that they know all of us so intimately and so well,
- 39:31you know, and it's funny because I think that,
- 39:34There's times in those group settings that you get a little nervous, a little anxious.
- 39:38And I always find that the men that are very forthcoming with their answers,
- 39:43it's easy to come up and say something.
- 39:45Just to be around that and know how comfortable they feel in that setting is very cool.
- 39:48What is a piece of advice that you would give to your younger self?
- 39:52I would say stop sugarcoating.
- 39:56As far as people pleasing, I definitely went through a phase that I would make everything nice.
- 40:04Just to make sure that there were no feelings hurt or make sure, you know.
- 40:09Okay to say no to things that you don't actually want to do,
- 40:11which is extremely empowering as we get older, separating the things you want
- 40:16to say yes to versus the things that you don't, because your energy is so much
- 40:20bigger when you're giving into the things you really want to say yes to.
- 40:23The sugarcoating thing was funny, though. I remember my husband and I first
- 40:26started dating, and I think in the beginning of our relationship,
- 40:29I still had that whole pattern a little bit.
- 40:31And not that it got me into trouble per
- 40:34se but there was definitely situations that I was like god this
- 40:37would have been so much easier if I just said what I need to say right and
- 40:40get through and be done but making everything nice and pretty
- 40:43and then realizing that wasn't the right thing so I would tell
- 40:4520 year old 18 year old 15 year old Corey
- 40:48say you know you don't need to like make everything nice
- 40:51it's okay to come out with the truth it's okay to say
- 40:54what you need to say and we'll move past it yeah and it's
- 40:57funny because my little one I definitely see a
- 41:00little bit of that in her and I'm trying to encourage
- 41:04her like you know it's okay you don't have to make everything
- 41:07so copacetic it's all right just to get out there and say this doesn't
- 41:10feel good or this doesn't whatever but if you have that
- 41:13sort of people-pleasing mentality but also
- 41:16I think that kind of stage of when I grew up too and I was easier just to like
- 41:22make everything nice versus like you know just coming out with it as a mother
- 41:27of two girls and giving them that empowerment not to just say yes to everything
- 41:31because it's so much easier for us sometimes.
- 41:33You know right away when something doesn't feel good when you say yes to something.
- 41:36It's such a gut and full body feeling when you know it's not the right thing to say yes to.
- 41:43For me personally, I get something right here in my chest when I say yes to
- 41:46something that I'm like, oh no.
- 41:48And now it's so cool. I avoid confrontation at all costs. I'm the same.
- 41:53I am the same. Like legitimately, like I, it pains my body.
- 41:58Oh God, But it was so hard for me to have a hard conversation.
- 42:04And granted, I'm not like...
- 42:05Perfect at it now by any stretch but if something
- 42:08i don't want to do and it's funny to see people's reactions when
- 42:12i thought they'd be like oh god it's like oh okay
- 42:15let's move on like you it surprises you you're like oh it's that easy okay it's
- 42:20that easy to set a boundary to say your opinion and not have it be liked right
- 42:23and that's good and that's fine and then like you know like my dad i mean i
- 42:27love my dad my dad's 82 he looks like a rock star he looks like he's 50 something years old.
- 42:32He's an amazing man. Italian men don't age. My dad's had a skincare routine
- 42:36since I can't even remember how long.
- 42:37He uses an egg white mask on his face every day.
- 42:40He does glycolic cream on his face, like the CVS brand. He was involved in this
- 42:46oil from the emu bird for many years.
- 42:48After construction, it was a whole weird side thing. He does it every day.
- 42:51He looks fantastic, my father.
- 42:53He was actually asked when we were in Martha's Vineyard years ago,
- 42:56a group of guys came over to him.
- 42:58Like, hey, man, I totally saw you with Keith Richards, blah,
- 43:01blah, blah. They're all wasted.
- 43:02And my mother was looking and she's like, oh, my God, he got in the middle of
- 43:06all of them and took a picture because they thought he was a rock star. It's hysterical.
- 43:09He looks so good. My dad, I'm like, all right, I'm just following you on the path.
- 43:14Yeah, the Italian men. My dad does not age. We'll see Aldo and be like, your dad looks the same.
- 43:20Yeah, I know. Is that amazing? Can I have that?
- 43:22No, I've, you know, my mom looks amazing for her age. Yeah, girl. You got it.
- 43:28Skin. Oh, this is Botox. Let's be real. Let's be real, guys.
- 43:33I discovered it. I discovered it a few years ago, and it's changed the game. Oh, yeah.
- 43:38I'm good with it. Oh, yeah. I'm good with it. All the helping hands.
- 43:41I was doing the LED math last night with all the red.
- 43:43Yeah. Laying in the bed like this. My girls were scared shitless,
- 43:46and I'm like, it's fine, girls.
- 43:47I'm trying to look like you. Wait, isn't the one that you put on?
- 43:49Yeah, except I laid down.
- 43:51But I had the neck one I just started using, too. I want the neck one.
- 43:54Oh, yeah, girl. I got the whole thing. Oh, my God, the neck one.
- 43:56Oh, yeah. Send me that one. I'm so curious about it.
- 43:58My boys are like, I have. So I bought this like.
- 44:04New skin oh yeah oh yeah so i bought new skin
- 44:07yeah and i was like i wonder if i could use it on my
- 44:10tummy after babies it's just skin it's just skin just.
- 44:13Freaking skin it's just skin and and i'm i'm you know i'm happy that
- 44:16i'm able to just have skin but i don't really like the skin so
- 44:19i was like i'm gonna try this i might be used it three times
- 44:22it is not something i'm gonna keep up with i have too much shit i
- 44:25can't keep up with everything yeah but the boys saw
- 44:28it and they're like what is this i'm like don't turn it on it's literally ultrasound
- 44:31it'll shock you and they're like huh and they like stuck at their
- 44:34bodies they're like like you guys you have to put
- 44:36on lotion then you have to do it so then they're like
- 44:39wait we want to try it so they're like they wanted to
- 44:42see yeah like they're they're into it i
- 44:45think they steal my they steal my theragun get all
- 44:48the theragun but best they steal the theragun they're like
- 44:51i need a bath i need this no they're okay
- 44:54with taking care of their bodies but that think about years
- 44:57from now when they've got their girlfriend they've got their yv's and
- 45:01they're like my mom has that device but they'll
- 45:04be taking care i will tell you my my older one
- 45:07last night she was cute she came in she's like mom i think i want
- 45:10to do a mask and then she's got like her she's got all the things right she's
- 45:12doing all this stuff now but she was like you could tell that
- 45:15she's been watching but like even a little bit more now and
- 45:18i'm like you can't like i play cvs was
- 45:22like my second home growing up like literally like CVS I
- 45:25would go what I mean I don't even know once a week
- 45:28was like an understatement we didn't have Sephora back then
- 45:31oh yeah that was a big deal that was
- 45:34a big deal and like when there was new products at CVS it always be
- 45:37like at the ends yes I was like in the aisle thing so it was like the new pretty.
- 45:41Product the new wet and wild oh 99 cents that wet and wild how much we got on.
- 45:47Our face it's hysterical now to see like it is so crazy I'm like okay girl if
- 45:51you're buying stuff that's more expensive than mommy's buying.
- 45:53My routine has gotten so simple.
- 45:55One thing I'm glad about not having girls that I don't even know,
- 45:58they would also steal all of my things.
- 45:59We're, yeah. Like we'll go in the room like.
- 46:02I do steal my oldest son. I steal his socks.
- 46:06Because they're super comfy. Oh, he's probably got the good,
- 46:08like, super high Vans ones. Oh, yeah. I just had to get him a suit because he's
- 46:12going to his first bar mitzvah.
- 46:14Oh, my God. Oh, cute. And we're not Jewish, so I don't know anything about it.
- 46:19But my friends, they're like, where is he? He can wear a suit.
- 46:22So I bought him this suit, and he put it on last night. And it's like.
- 46:26Does he look so handsome?
- 46:27Does he smell good, too? Does he want a cologne? No, he's so smelly.
- 46:30No, I love him. I might remind him to do everything.
- 46:33But he's, like, growing up. Oh, he looks so – and I got him a little skinny tie.
- 46:37And then I was like, wow, it would be super fun to be, like,
- 46:39a billionaire and have, like, a custom Armani suit made or a custom Xenia.
- 46:43I'm like, that – and, like, a really great fabric.
- 46:45He shows up, like, so, like, bling. But I got them. They're,
- 46:49like, H&M. And he's skinny. So he's got this skinnier pants. Oh, so cute.
- 46:53Get ready for the outfits that you see when you drop them off for the girls. I've seen some.
- 46:57Yeah, I don't know how they sit down. I don't know how they dance.
- 47:00But bless them, I don't know how they do it.
- 47:03This big, and I think they get away with the dresses this big because they all wear sneakers.
- 47:07So it's like... What are you doing? You sit down, your coochie falls out.
- 47:10I've now attended two dear friends of mine.
- 47:13And it's wild. It is wild. I'm like, wow, these are getting smaller.
- 47:18Can they dance or do they not? Well, it's funny because you see what you expect.
- 47:22They're all kind of sitting around.
- 47:24And then they kind of migrate in groups. So you'll see them moving around the
- 47:27party in groups. The one party we went to had a dance coach. Yeah.
- 47:32Okay. So there was like three dance coaches and then they bring the party and
- 47:35they get everybody in the dance floor and they do all the things.
- 47:37The second one felt younger.
- 47:40That was actually in the city and they did it at this like spectacular place downtown.
- 47:44Oh, yeah. And it's a full, as you know.
- 47:46So, and I don't remember, the girls seemed younger for some reason.
- 47:50They felt like they were all wearing the shorter dresses, but they felt like
- 47:53their present maturity was younger.
- 47:55Just like they were really excited. like they have the cotton candy
- 47:59and all the different things and very cutesy and all
- 48:01the stuff but yeah there was a definite difference from
- 48:05one that i went to here in the city it was interesting to see we won't be going
- 48:08through that either we'll be sweet 16 with that time but our kid i mean we're
- 48:13coming on to that time i mean you're in it now i'll be in it soon this has been
- 48:17so much it's been awesome he's so awesome i love it i love it too and i love Working out. Yeah.
