- 0:10Sean McAllister: Coming up, our sit-down with Gordon Ramsey himself.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Season 19's big.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Even bigger now, being here in Vegas.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Listen, Vegas is like my second home.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I started looking at properties about six months ago.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: My wife's on board.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: And I think down the line, who knows?
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: I'd love to spend more and more time here.
- 0:27Dayna Roselli: Love hearing from Gordon.
- 0:28Dayna Roselli: He never holds back.
- 0:30Dayna Roselli: You gotta listen to this interview.
- 0:32Dayna Roselli: Also, you know, people like to get married on dates that either mean something or maybe they're easy to remember.
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: Well, Las Vegas is getting ready.
- 0:40Dayna Roselli: We have all the details coming up in our tips.
- 0:55Sean McAllister: Thanks for being here on episode 51 of Vegas Revealed, Sean McAllister along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, everybody's talking about how um it's supposed to be dry January, how you're supposed to take a break from drinking this month.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: It's not working out so well.
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 1:14Dayna Roselli: Listen, I don't get the whole dry January thing.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: I'm one of those people that's like, um, why do we need to like give something up altogether for a limited amount of time?
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: Like, why can't we just drink in moderation?
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: Drink when we want to drink, and there's an occasion, and then maybe one day we won't drink, and then maybe the next day we will.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: Like, why does it have to be a thing?
- 1:34Dayna Roselli: Everything has to be a thing.
- 1:35Dayna Roselli: Grow your beard.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: Take your beard off.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: Grow your I don't know what it does.
- 1:40Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 1:41Sean McAllister: Listen, for me, it was because um I overindulged a little bit too much during the whole holiday season.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: So I've got some some pounds to get rid of.
- 1:52Dayna Roselli: But you're doing good.
- 1:53Dayna Roselli: How much, how much are we down?
- 1:55Sean McAllister: Five.
- 1:56Sean McAllister: Five pounds.
- 1:56Sean McAllister: Five pounds.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: Well, gosh, I mean, I'm down about five, six, but I feel like it took me a while to get there.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: You I feel like yours happened in an instant.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: I I well it's you uh getting up at 6.30 in the morning recently and taking your long walk.
- 2:09Sean McAllister: It is going out with a dog first thing in the morning.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: Sean's got a whole new routine, everyone.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: So if you're up early and you want someone to chat with, call Sean.
- 2:16Sean McAllister: And back in bed at 9.30.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: So if you're a night owl, don't call or text.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: Both of us, uh, we're recording the podcast today.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: We're both a little low energy, but it is kind of that like, you know, time after the holidays, the ramp up to 2021.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: Now it's here.
- 2:30Dayna Roselli: It's been eventful.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: Let me we'll leave that to the uh the news and political commentators.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: But um, boy, it's draining.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: It's been a draining week.
- 2:39Sean McAllister: I know.
- 2:40Sean McAllister: I feel like it's just emotionally draining.
- 2:44Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 2:45Sean McAllister: There's no other word for it.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: It just, it kind of just quickly turned it into wet January.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: So good God, it did.
- 2:52Sean McAllister: I did uh bust out a cocktail last night.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: But here in Vegas, uh hey, listen, we're still moving along.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: We're open at 25% capacity, and uh, we sadly have seen some places like our friend Bryce that runs DW Bistro restaurant here in town said, you know what, we're gonna close for two weeks because you know it's really difficult with the 25% capacity to keep things moving and pay your staff and make money.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: And so some folks are taking a little bit of a break here and there to kind of you know recoup their time back and then ramp up to open again.
- 3:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, and who knows when we're uh gonna get back to a more normal sense of uh business.
- 3:31Sean McAllister: I know not anytime soon.
- 3:34Sean McAllister: But one thing that is moving forward is pool season.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: Well, right I know, of course, right.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: Well, last year, remember even when we had like a lot of the well shutdowns, we you know, when we were completely shut down, the pools weren't open, but obviously when we reopened, the one thing that did stay open all through the summer and and fall, because it's hot here in the fall, was pool.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: So they plan to have the pools open and they need lifeguards and waitresses and waiters.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Why did I just say waitresses and leave out waiters?
- 4:04Sean McAllister: They need the they need the waiters too.
- 4:07Sean McAllister: But the interesting thing, if you're outside of Las Vegas, this might sound a little weird.
- 4:13Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:13Sean McAllister: Here in Las Vegas, we've we've kind of gotten used to it, but they have auditions for pool staff at the resorts here in Las Vegas.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:23Sean McAllister: I mean It's like a casting call for the staff to work at the pool.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: Well, you know, it is kind of like uh it's like a cast, it's everything in Vegas is a show, right?
- 4:32Sean McAllister: It's a scene.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: And when you when you go to the pool, you want to make sure the people around you are, I don't know, uh nice to look at, fun to look at, you know, something like a show.
- 4:43Sean McAllister: So if you want to be a waiter or a waitress or a bartender, bring your glossy eight by ten with your resume on the back.
- 4:53Sean McAllister: No pool experience probably necessary.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: Right, right.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: But you know, they usually do actually, you know, do these auditions in person, and so obviously can't do that this year.
- 5:01Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of funny.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: They're having this summer pool job fair via Zoom this year.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: And we saw Caesars Entertainment put out a release looking for 200 lifeguard positions, yeah, and then um staff to work at the GoPool at the Flamingo, they've got to fill 70 positions there.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: So they're doing this whole Zoom thing, and I saw a couple of the other c hotel casinos kind of follow suit, but it's time to hire.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: So I mean, is that kind of weird?
- 5:29Sean McAllister: Like you're just gonna be strutting around in your your bathing suit in your living room.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: I just feel bad on the other side of a Zoom call?
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: Because it's so not bathing suit season, so like how are you even geared up yet to like spin around the living room on Zoom?
- 5:44Sean McAllister: I don't think anybody is ready for that.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, um, listen, it's these jobs, these folks make really decent money, and I'm happy to see that there's jobs available and they're gonna go for it.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: And so if they're serious about it, they'll they'll log on to Zoom.
- 6:00Sean McAllister: I guess so.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: And make a splash.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: Um, we did see that one show was coming back too, is that Expert is doing these, are they calling them like private performances?
- 6:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think private performances is how they're they're being billed.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: Yes, private edition.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: Sorry, experlesque private private edition.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, they're coming back and they are kind of like gonna seduce audiences with this special VIP experience at the Flamingo, apparently.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: And they're gonna be inside the Expert's Theater, the same place that they usually are.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: Shows will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 7 and 10 p.m.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: for intimate audiences of 30 people per show.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: But they will seduce you at a reasonable distance.
- 6:46Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: Seduction, it's fine.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: But listen, folks need we ran into a couple that was getting married the other day, and we're gonna talk more about Vegas weddings and stuff, but they were came into town to get married.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: They had booked a show to see Tape Face and then it canceled, and they were disappointed.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: But they said, you know what, we're trying to do the dinner and show, the Vegas experience, but obviously we understand that that's not gonna happen this year.
- 7:08Sean McAllister: Hopefully it'll end up happening sooner than later.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 7:11Sean McAllister: Is what we all hope.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: It's a tough time, you know.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: I was talking to someone the other day who was, you know, very uh positive about the whole situation.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: Like, I feel it, things are coming, things are gonna change, you know, things are gonna get back to normal sooner than later, and then and then we have others that are like, uh, it ain't happening this year.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: So we'll have to wait and see.
- 7:28Dayna Roselli: But, you know, we wanted to keep everyone informed of what's going on here locally.
- 7:32Dayna Roselli: And we do have pool auditions and ex burlesque opening in Las Vegas.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Those are the big updates of the week, Sean.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: Well, and and something that's cool.
- 7:42Sean McAllister: This is uh, you know, if you're not comfortable going out to a restaurant, which a lot of people still aren't, um, but you still want to have that restaurant experience.
- 7:53Sean McAllister: There are some really great places that have some like take and bake menu offerings, among them Rayo's, which is an amazing Italian spot uh that started in New York City.
- 8:08Sean McAllister: Now it they have a location at Caesars, it's been there for years.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I went there on Christmas Day.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: So good.
- 8:15Sean McAllister: It's nice w when everything was normal to just go in, have a seat at the bar, grab some wine, get a couple big meatballs.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: It's a great place for that.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: The meatballs are delicious.
- 8:28Dayna Roselli: They are uh I'm 100% Italian and they are Roselli approved, so there you have it.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 8:33Sean McAllister: Uh also Old Homestead, which is also at uh Caesar's Palace, they have a baked main lobster meal uh for like 79 bucks that you can take and bake.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: Also, Hell's who's gonna order and like bake some lobster at home?
- 8:49Sean McAllister: Well, I don't know.
- 8:50Dayna Roselli: Okay, well, maybe for Valentine's Day or an occasion.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: Or like a birthday or an anniversary.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: Plenty of occasions, I guess.
- 8:56Sean McAllister: Oh good.
- 8:56Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:57Sean McAllister: Or if you want to just fancy it up one night.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Not that I don't support it.
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: I'm just saying.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: Also, Hell's Kitchen is over at uh Caesar's Palace, the first Hell's Kitchen outside of uh the TV series, the first Hell's Kitchen restaurant, where people can actually go in, make a reservation, sit down, experience the food that they see Gordon Ramsay making on TV, and they have a beef wellington meal that uh is for like 59 bucks.
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: Okay, yeah, that's a great deal.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: That beef wellington is so good, I must say.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: All right, well, this is just the perfect segue, right?
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: From Hell's Kitchen to Hell's Kitchen, because Hell's Kitchen is back on TV and Gordon Ramsay really enjoys his interviews with Sean McAllister.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: And we've been holding on to this one because we had to, it was embargoed.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: You have to wait till the show actually hits the airwaves.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: And this year's, this season's, I should say, Hell's Kitchen taking place here in Las Vegas.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: And Sean, you got to sit down one-on-one with Gordon Ramsay, and I know he's a big you guys are big fans of each other.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: Well, listen, over the years, uh I worked at a Fox TV station.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: So over the years, uh I've interviewed Gordon Ramsay for Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef, and then, you know, he has what, five or six restaurants here in Las Vegas now.
- 10:17Sean McAllister: So as each of those restaurants opened up, I would go and talk to him again.
- 10:21Sean McAllister: So we've gotten to know each other pretty well over the years, and now that season 19 of Hell's Kitchen is completely based right here in Las Vegas.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: It was another opportunity to go over there to the Hell's Kitchen set and sit down with my good buddy Gordon Ramsey.
- 10:38Sean McAllister: Chef, great to see ya.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: Likewise, good to see you too, my man.
- 10:41Sean McAllister: Hey, congratulations on bringing the show here.
- 10:43Sean McAllister: This is something you've wanted to do forever.
- 10:46Sean McAllister: You're finally here doing it.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: How does it feel?
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Season 19 is big.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Um, even bigger now, being here in Vegas.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Um, listen, uh, Vegas is like my second home.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Um, I started looking at properties um about six months ago.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Um, my wife's on board, uh, and I think down the line, who knows?
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: I'd love to spend more and more time here.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: So um it's in my back garden, but also just in terms of the rewards, the backdrop, the strip, the sport now.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: So uh yeah, it's a dream, and um there's no way we can actually film in the existing house kitchen because that thing's you know eight, nine, ten weeks fully booked in advance.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: So we built the most amazing restaurant uh literally a block away from HK.
- 11:25Sean McAllister: And it's absolutely gorgeous.
- 11:27Sean McAllister: Uh going back to the house hunt, you're gonna have to find a place that has a nursery in it.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, number five.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Oh man, um, I'm gonna uh I'm gonna be more hands-on this time.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: You know, I did say less busy, but that's already gone out the window.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: So um, yeah, Oscar, my goodness me.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: In that room when they're delivering that little uh amazing nugget, you realize that nothing else matters within those four walls.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: So uh it he popped his head out of the sunroof, you know, spun around, said hello, took the cord off his neck, and then literally let rip, and then they took care of Tana.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: So uh scary moment.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Uh and God bless uh mum and son, all good.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I mean number five.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: So now I'm uh yeah, a new dad.
- 12:10Sean McAllister: So you you you have babies all over the place.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: You have a baby at home, you have this is your baby, yeah, the restaurant, you have a a new restaurant coming down the line where the winner of this season is going to end up working.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Lake Tahoe.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: What a gorgeous place.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Uh also, you know, it's beyond a lake.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Uh as you know, the backdrop of the mountain, you know, the casino, um, and then the summertime, you know, what that uh drawer is now, um, from trekking to mountain biking, uh to great water sports, um, and of course an amazing restaurant.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: So House Kitchen number three, Lake Tahoe, how exciting.
- 12:44Sean McAllister: Vegas, Dubai, Tahoe, not too bad.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Not too bad.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: And we've only been open for literally 15 months.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: So uh yeah, fingers crossed.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: But I think it's a testament of what Fox have done and Caesars have done.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Season 19.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: And so even on the way into work this morning, yeah, there's a queue outside the door at 10:30, and then God bless them, you know, there's kids outside the HK logo, you know, getting their pictures done last night with selfies on the way home.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: So it's quite breathtaking and nerve-wracking at the same time, but uh it it it's been built, as you know, over the last 16-17 years.
- 13:14Sean McAllister: And uh smart businessman too, building uh places of work in such great vacation destinations too.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because it's not it and Vegas is not just you know uh about the gambling, it's the entertainment, um the shows, the sports now.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: You know, if it's not the sports of the racetrack, if it's not the racetrack, it's the Grand Canyon.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I did my first Iron Man here literally nine years ago, and I fell in love with those mountains.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: And I'm literally up, you know, two and a half thousand foot up on the top of this mountain looking down, and you'd see the strip in the distance, and it was like, this is incredible.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: This is really, really incredible.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: I get to touch base with the military here, I get to do my sports, and I get to drive my car.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: So um honestly, right now I'm like a pig in shit.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: I'd love to hear that.
- 14:01Sean McAllister: I have some quick uh viewer questions for you.
- 14:04Sean McAllister: So Rodney says that he is a terrible cook, nothing ever works out.
- 14:08Sean McAllister: Is there hope?
- 14:09Sean McAllister: Should he stay at it?
- 14:11unknown: Rodney.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, get your ass on Master Chef, yes.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Forget health kitchen, but get your butt on Master Chef.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Yes, don't give up.
- 14:17Sean McAllister: Well, good segue.
- 14:18Sean McAllister: Bridget wants to know will there ever be a Master Chef, Master Chef Junior crossover season so the kids can kick the butts of the adults?
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: That's a really good question.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you why.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: We have some of those winners now back on season one, season two of Master Chef Junior, 18, 19 years of age.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: They've gone into Cunnery excellence, they've gone into studies, and they are a force to be reckoned with.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: And my job and my dream is to bring those youngsters back to go up against the adults, without a doubt.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: And uh, Jason wants to know the best condiment for an idiot sandwich.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Butter, so those slices of bread stick on your ears longer.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: Brilliant.
- 14:55Sean McAllister: And uh I I know that you mentioned another chef's name last we spoke.
- 15:00Sean McAllister: What is the status of the Bobby Flay throwdown?
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: So, Bobby, you know I'm desperate for you.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it is if you want another half an hour head start, more team in your brigade.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: I don't give a damn what you want, but it's for charity, Bobby.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: We're getting on in life and we need to give back.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: And I I have a foundation.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: So all the you know, bitterness and anger, bring it into the kitchen, Bobby, and put it on the plate.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: So right now he's still hiding somewhere in the mountains.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Um, but I'll get him out, trust me.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: I will sniff him out and I'll bring him back into that kitchen.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna kick your mother ass.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Great to see you, buddy.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: Is that our first beep on Vegas Reveal?
- 15:41Sean McAllister: It is.
- 15:41Sean McAllister: I mean, and we had a couple of them in the interview.
- 15:44Sean McAllister: I mean, when you sit down with Gordon Ramsey, there literally is no telling what he's going to say, but undoubtedly there are going to be some some bleeps needed.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: Bleep, beep, yeah.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's so funny because I do feel like lately so many more people are dropping inappropriate words more often.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: And so it just kind of feels natural.
- 16:07Dayna Roselli: Like, you know, maybe we didn't even need to bleep it out.
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: We could have just hit explicit.
- 16:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, we we probably could have.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: But yeah, good to see uh you and Gordon sit down and have a laugh.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, what a great guy.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: He's in and out of Las Vegas all the time.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: And I remember being at the uh hip-hop room in Omnian nightclub about a year and a half ago, I think it was.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: And I was with Matt Goss at the time, who knows Gordon because he used to be out of Hell's Kitchen and they're both from you know Britain and stuff like that.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: And they were like, you know, Gordon, want to go say hi to Gordon?
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: He's in the electronic music room.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: I was like, okay, so we traveled from the hip-hop room to the electronic music room there.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: Gordon was right next to the DJ booth, just living it up.
- 16:45Sean McAllister: I mean, he when he comes to Vegas, uh he makes sure to be out at the clubs at least one night during his stay.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: He is no stranger to the Vegas nightlife scene.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: No, yeah.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: So this will be a good show.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: I'm looking forward to it.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: I DVR'd the first one, so I gotta watch it still, and then you know, I like to watch them kind of all in a row because of the whole way that I watch TV now with Netflix and HBO Max and all that.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: I get frustrated when I have to wait.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: So now I have my new thing, is I I I like start, like I do like two or three episodes, then I watch them.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: Oh, that's a good way to do it.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: I feel more satisfied.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's nice to hear that uh Gordon and his wife and his family are looking for a house here in Las Vegas too.
- 17:26Sean McAllister: So hopefully they will soon uh be residents as well as business owners here.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: Who doesn't everyone moves to Vegas?
- 17:34Sean McAllister: I mean, there's no reason not to.
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: Who was somebody recently you and I were going, wait, who we didn't realize that they lived here?
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: And I can't think of who it was, but I mean, obviously, we have like Mike Tyson here, we have Nicholas Cage that lives here, we have Debbie Gibson that lives here, um Pauly D lives here now.
- 17:52Sean McAllister: You know who it was, I think it was um Phyllis Maguire.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Oh, that's right.
- 17:56Sean McAllister: From the Maguire sisters from the they were a group back in the 50s.
- 18:01Sean McAllister: Phyllis sadly uh just recently passed away.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: She, I believe, was 89 years old, but I had no idea that she's lived in Las Vegas for all these years in a 24,000 square foot mansion.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I didn't know that either.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: That's what it was.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: You and I were having a really long chat about all her history and the fact that she lived here and that we wanted to get in and see this collection of stuff that she has in her home.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: I'm I'm sure it's incredible, but I can't remember who I saw recently.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: It might have been uh might have possibly been Myron Martin from the Smith Center that made a post about her or somebody that you know obviously said that she'll be missed and and you know, again, saying that she lived here in Las Vegas and all that kind of thing.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: I was like, where I didn't even know.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: I know.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: There are famous names and faces all over this city, and it's so unsuspecting.
- 18:53Sean McAllister: Like you might just run into somebody at a neighborhood grocery store.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: So yeah, I mean, Vegas does have a draw.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: It does, that's for sure.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: All right, coming up next, we're gonna talk weddings, okay?
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: Because our marriage license bureau is open.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: I don't know if everyone knows this out there that's listening from around the world.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: 365 days a year, okay?
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: You can get married at any time in Las Vegas.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: We have some incredible chapels.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: And what people do, Sean, which I mean, I guess, you know, I get it.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: It's kind of fun.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: They they take dates that have cool kind of like numbers that are in order or mean something, and they love to get married on that day.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there's a a whole bunch of those days coming up here in 2021.
- 19:37Sean McAllister: So we'll let you know what those are and some special things that the chapels are up to to celebrate.
- 19:43Sean McAllister: That's coming up next on Vegas Revealed.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, Sean, we got a couple more reviews and ratings since our last podcast.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: So we want to encourage everyone to rate and review Vegas Revealed.
- 19:56Sean McAllister: There is nothing we love doing more than opening up our emails and seeing a review popping up there and hearing what you have to say about what you hear on Vegas Revealed.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: Of course, we love the feedback, but it also really helps other people find the Vegas Revealed podcast.
- 20:15Sean McAllister: And we want to spread the word of Las Vegas far and wide.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: And so if you go on Apple Podcasts, leave us a rating, a five-star, please, and a review, and you'll see it there.
- 20:26Dayna Roselli: Also, the other, you know, digital platforms like Spotify and iHeart, they all have their own way to rate as well.
- 20:33Sean McAllister: So please rate, review, and keep listening to Vegas Reveals.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: It's time for Dana and Sean's secret tips, and this week we are talking weddings because you and I actually had a job to do with our company, Insightful Media.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: We were hired to do some work for the Marriage Bureau, and one of our great PR firms in town hired us, but it got us thinking this is worth sharing with everyone because we are the wedding capital of the world, which is something that we're proud of.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: And, you know, people often talk about all the little chapels that we have here, but even us, Sean, you and I living here, don't realize how many chapels there are.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: We hit up a couple of them recently to get some video and get inside.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: We also filmed a wedding, and it was so much fun to see how every chapel is really unique and different.
- 21:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, they really uh make their own mark on the wedding industry here in Las Vegas, which uh I didn't realize that Las Vegas being the wedding capital of the world dates back to like 1931.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: So it has been decades that Las Vegas has, you know, been on the map as almost a hundred years, I guess, if you think about it.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: Right.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: And we have well over fifty wedding chapels.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: So if you come here to tie the knot, you certainly have a lot of choices, and those are just wedding chapels.
- 21:58Sean McAllister: That's not even Even to mention other types of wedding venues.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: I mean the list goes on.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: The cool thing is you can go to the marriage license bureau, you just like wait in line, you get sworn in, you sign your your document, your marriage license, and you're and you're good to go.
- 22:13Dayna Roselli: And then you take that to the chapel, or you take it to like if you were getting married at Caesars in their chapel or anything like that, too.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: And you're good to go.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: I mean it's pretty simple.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: And I believe it's like$79.99 just for the license.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: But then, you know, the packages that all these chapels offer are so affordable if you want it to be, or luxurious if you want it to.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: You can throw in everything.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: You don't you can get some rings, you can rent a dress, you can get flowers, a photographer, the whole nine.
- 22:42Sean McAllister: Well, and it there really does everything is offered.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: Everything from a walk-up wedding to a drive-thru wedding to Elvis officiating, to I mean, really, if you want to have a pink Cadillacs, we certainly saw a few of those.
- 22:58Sean McAllister: Um, or you can go over the top with a more traditional style wedding.
- 23:04Sean McAllister: These chapels really do offer it all, and and some of the things that we saw were really pretty.
- 23:10Sean McAllister: I think people have this idea in their head that Las Vegas wedding chapels are kind of on the cheesy side.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: But that's not the case.
- 23:20Sean McAllister: If you go around, you're gonna find some really nice venues.
- 23:24Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 23:24Dayna Roselli: And and if that's what you want, some people like the cheesy.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: They literally are like, I want to be married by Elvis, I want it to be cheesy, and that's part of the memory, right?
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: And then another thing people do when talk about memory is like to pick dates that they can remember, you know?
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: You gotta.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: And this year, you know, there's a bunch of different dates coming up that people just like like we have obviously it's 2021, so the two, one at the end.
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: So anything with the ones and twos in there, you know, people like to get married in the you know, one, two, twenty-one and twelve, two, twenty-one, and all that kind of thing.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: So they've been busy, and then there's another one coming up that I think is gonna be a busy day, and it's called four, three, two, one.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: Yes, April 3rd.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: We actually talked to Lynn Goya, who is the Clark County Clerk, to get some more information about the marriage license bureau and what they're doing to get ready.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: Well, I do think 2021 is gonna be really big, uh, especially at the second half of the year.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: What we're finding is that uh couples are already booking up, especially those specialty dates, but throughout the second half of the year, chapels are telling me that they're really getting booked quickly because uh again, Vegas is so simple and easy to get married, and it's a safe place to come, and it makes it uh, you know, simple and stress-free for the couples that have kind of had enough stress in their last life, in their last year.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: Well, and I love four two wait no four three two one three two one.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: That's a cool one.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: That's four three two one is a fun date.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, couples love those special dates like that, and it's unusual where you get to count down like that.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and there are so many dates, you know, there's February 14th, which is Valentine's Day, right?
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: February 20th, 2021.
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: So it's 2, 20, 21.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: So there's lots of twos and zeros and all that involved.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: They've got dates going all the way through, you know, December that kind of make sense for people.
- 25:23Dayna Roselli: And one of the chapel general managers that we were talking to was saying, yeah, a lot of guys like these dates because it's easy to remember, they won't forget their anniversary.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: Well, I think the the wives will appreciate that down the line for sure.
- 25:37Sean McAllister: And I I thought it was pretty surprising.
- 25:39Sean McAllister: Obviously, 2020, the marriage license bureau had to close for a couple months, just like everything else did.
- 25:46Sean McAllister: But they were one of the first to reopen, and they ended up doing uh well over fifty-six thousand marriages here in Las Vegas in 2020.
- 26:00Sean McAllister: So just imagine how that number is going to grow once you know travel is back up and running here to our fair city.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know, and they were saying that a lot of people really just wanted to be married, whether it was they didn't care that it wasn't fancy, they didn't care that it was quick, a lot of people wanted to elope.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Many just going, you know what, you only live once because of this time we're in, and we want to be married.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Let's just get married and do it.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: We don't care, or we'll do a big thing later.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Other people for insurance reasons wanted to be married, you know, in this time where so many people are getting sick and you don't know what's gonna happen.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: Um, so there's the kind of protection thing.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: But yeah, they're saying they were busy for a lot of different kinds of reasons.
- 26:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh the entire wedding industry here in uh Las Vegas and and specifically the chapel owners downtown, they all got together, which I thought was really cool.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: They all got together and came up with a standard set of guidelines, safety guidelines, uh to put in place in light of COVID-19.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: Right.
- 27:05Sean McAllister: So it's super safe.
- 27:07Sean McAllister: They've got you know strict guidelines across the board, and you know, it's safe and uh easy to do here in Vegas.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it was so clean.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: Every chapel we went to, we were like, wow, it's spotless here, you know, antibacterial everywhere, and and limited people too.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: They didn't have, you know, tons of people running around.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: There wasn't long lines inside or a lobby full of people, which you know, they they separate, they make the appointments so that you're they have them moving and that you are not around others.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: And the great thing they have going now too is live streaming, so you can actually get married and like maybe your friends and family can't be here, but they'll live stream to them so they can kind of be a part of the ceremony, which is cool too.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: So lots to offer.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: Um, come to Vegas, get what get married, uh, get divorced, do whatever you want to do after that, but although the marriage license bureau doesn't handle the divorces, you've got to go somewhere else.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: Uh, but if you are looking to get married and are considering Las Vegas, uh go to the website M L I C, like marriage license, M-L-I-C dot Vegas, and they've got you covered there.
- 28:16Sean McAllister: They have a list of everything you need to do and um links to all the chapels and wedding dress places and florists and everything you need.
- 28:25Dayna Roselli: Everything you need, yeah.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: Um if you've never been to a Vegas wedding at a chapel, it's it's a good time.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: I you know, uh when things get back to normal, I don't know if folks can dip in and watch, but it's it's fun to watch.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: Um hey, wanted to remind everyone that uh Sean's interview with Gordon Ramsey will be on our YouTube as well.
