- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hamewark review podcast. I'm
- 0:18Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark movie and TV fan.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I'm Wendy. I'm your former homework hater. Way to switch
- 0:26Speaker 2: it up there, Megan All.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Today we are discussing season two, episode three of The
- 0:34Speaker 1: Way Home, titled when You Were Young. By the way,
- 0:38Speaker 1: there's a lot of song titles when we were young,
- 0:41Speaker 1: This isn't specific. Okay, hang out with us outside of
- 0:45Speaker 1: the podcast on Instagram. We are at Girls Gone Homework
- 0:48Speaker 1: and at Megan and Wendy.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Come over to our Facebook group. We're talking theories over
- 0:55Speaker 2: there for the Way Home. Super fun and all over
- 0:59Speaker 2: the board.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Then, speaking of this episode, it is titled when You
- 1:02Speaker 1: Were Young. That is a song with The Killers from
- 1:04Speaker 1: two thousand and six.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah. I had to pull it up on YouTube today
- 1:09Speaker 2: because I'm familiar with the song, but I couldn't remember
- 1:12Speaker 2: exactly who sang. It was just so funny. But then
- 1:15Speaker 2: I play it, I was like, oh, yeah, I know
- 1:16Speaker 2: every lyric of the song. To you, I pulled some
- 1:19Speaker 2: of the lyrics, did you yeah? Do you want to
- 1:23Speaker 2: talk about it here?
- 1:25Speaker 1: I think you could draw like a loose parallel to
- 1:28Speaker 1: what we got here. They say the Devil's water. It
- 1:31Speaker 1: ain't so sweet. You don't have to drink right now,
- 1:33Speaker 1: but you can dip your feet again. And then you
- 1:36Speaker 1: sit there in your heartache, waiting on some beautiful boy
- 1:38Speaker 1: to save you from your old ways.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I don't think we're talking about our brother's sister relationship there,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but there's some mild parallels here.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Interesting. I love it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We have a new director alert for this episode. Our
- 1:52Speaker 1: director is Shamim Sharif. She has thirteen directing credit. She
- 1:55Speaker 1: did direct two episodes last season, and her additional directing
- 1:59Speaker 1: credits include the Netflix series You Love That Show and
- 2:04Speaker 1: a Max series called sort Of. And I had never
- 2:08Speaker 1: heard of it, but the description is it follows a
- 2:11Speaker 1: gender fluid millennial who straddles various identities, exposing the identities
- 2:15Speaker 1: and labels that are no longer applicable, and I thought,
- 2:18Speaker 1: maybe I need a new show.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Interesting. I did read that this director is an advocate
- 2:24Speaker 2: for LGBTQ representation in film.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And we do get that in this epide I know,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I love it. Let's hear a synopsis for episode three.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Okay, the Landry Women and Elliet reflect on what it
- 2:38Speaker 2: means to grow up as they hang onto memories from
- 2:41Speaker 2: their younger days while accepting who they have become.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Let's dive into some key plot points. A lot happens
- 2:49Speaker 1: in this episode. I think, yes, ma'am, yeah, we got
- 2:52Speaker 1: to start with Kat.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Sure.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Kat does meet Elijah Landry in eighteen fourteen, and the
- 2:59Speaker 1: information kind of cut that you fast and furious. We
- 3:02Speaker 1: learn he has a son, William and a grandson Jacob.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That's not the Jacob we're looking for. There's a lot
- 3:09Speaker 1: of clues in this house. We learn that Rebecca Landry
- 3:11Speaker 1: has passed. She finds the JAK logo on the table,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and then she learns that he has another son who
- 3:19Speaker 1: came to them several years ago, twenty plus years ago.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And Kat thinks that Jacob is her Jacob. And I'm
- 3:26Speaker 1: giving that Kat thinks distinction because again I'm still not
- 3:31Speaker 1: I I'm not one hundred percent interesting. Elijah's very lovely,
- 3:36Speaker 1: treats Kat like family. He believes her story that you know,
- 3:40Speaker 1: she's been looking for him all this time. But Susannah
- 3:44Speaker 1: Augustine comes in hot. We learn that she is engaged
- 3:49Speaker 1: to Jacob and she does not trust Kat, and Kat
- 3:52Speaker 1: can't really explain herself, except she does do a little
- 3:56Speaker 1: backwards flop into the pond and disappears, And I'm thinking,
- 3:59Speaker 1: this chick is gonna think you're a straight up witch. Oh,
- 4:03Speaker 1: you're right, Like, you can't jump into a pond and
- 4:06Speaker 1: disappear and have the people in eighteen fourteen not think
- 4:11Speaker 1: something weird's up.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Oh, They're gonna definitely think she's a witch. I wish
- 4:15Speaker 2: she would have like threw up two middle fingers right
- 4:18Speaker 2: then and like jumped into the pond. That would have
- 4:20Speaker 2: been so badass. I still thought that that scene was
- 4:24Speaker 2: pretty cold, though, when she's like too, I thought it
- 4:27Speaker 2: was pretty damn cool. Yeah, they're definitely gonna understand what
- 4:31Speaker 2: the hell's going on unless Elijah understands. You know, maybe
- 4:36Speaker 2: Susannah is not in on the she's not in the
- 4:39Speaker 2: know of the mystery of the pond, but maybe Elijah
- 4:43Speaker 2: is aware, Yeah, knows a couple of things that stood
- 4:48Speaker 2: out to me. When Kat and Elijah have their talk
- 4:53Speaker 2: at the house. You know, she's looking up the fireplace
- 4:56Speaker 2: and he mentions about the stones being loose, yes, And
- 5:00Speaker 2: I was like, huh, are we going to find something
- 5:02Speaker 2: back in current day, like of a stone being loose
- 5:05Speaker 2: and there's going to be something hidden in there.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I thought the same thing.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I don't know. I thought it was kind of a
- 5:11Speaker 2: weird line to include if it didn't mean something. The
- 5:17Speaker 2: other thing that I thought was really interesting was I
- 5:21Speaker 2: completely forgot I don't know the lighthouse you No, I
- 5:25Speaker 2: will tell you that. I did have to write down
- 5:28Speaker 2: like a little bit of a family tree of who
- 5:30Speaker 2: is who and who is connected to who, because it
- 5:32Speaker 2: is kind of confusing with like little Jacob who was
- 5:36Speaker 2: named after Big Jacob, who's not actually their son.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Yeah, who's like adopted uncle, so to speak.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, And where's William? Did they ever say where William was?
- 5:48Speaker 1: I thought he was right there. I thought when they
- 5:50Speaker 1: came out of the woods, he's like, oh, there's my
- 5:52Speaker 1: son William. And then William and Jacob go off screen.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Oh you're right about that. But why don't we know
- 5:59Speaker 1: William went? Why haven't they showed us William yet? Is
- 6:02Speaker 1: he insignificant?
- 6:03Speaker 2: Maybe? Maybe?
- 6:04Speaker 1: I mean they came at us fast and furious, with
- 6:06Speaker 1: a lot of information in that moment, tons of information.
- 6:09Speaker 1: While we're talking about Kat because of this visit, she
- 6:13Speaker 1: does later request an age progression of Jacob and she
- 6:17Speaker 1: gets one, and we learn what future Jacob might look like,
- 6:21Speaker 1: so that she can potentially, I suppose, recognize him in
- 6:24Speaker 1: the past. And she also finds a series of polaroids
- 6:28Speaker 1: taped under her desk, and you have to assume those
- 6:32Speaker 1: are you know, when is the time frame that's got
- 6:34Speaker 1: to be from her childhood? When are people taking polaroid Well.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Didn't I thought about this too? And I think I
- 6:42Speaker 2: remember in season one Jacob had a polaroid camera. Yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 2: and he took a lot of pictures. So I think
- 6:47Speaker 2: those are his photos. Why they are taped under his
- 6:50Speaker 2: desk because she stays in his old bedroom. Why they're
- 6:55Speaker 2: taped there? Why was he hiding it? I don't know.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Unsolved mystery.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it does seem like there's a lot of breadcrumbs
- 7:01Speaker 1: that may or may not have any significance. The J
- 7:03Speaker 1: and K logo carved on the table. Is that a
- 7:06Speaker 1: message to her or is that just the product of
- 7:08Speaker 1: an eight year old boy doodling.
- 7:11Speaker 2: So to speak?
- 7:13Speaker 1: The lighthouse photo, so Jacob builds the lighthouse. Is there
- 7:16Speaker 1: any significance there because we see them spending a lot
- 7:20Speaker 1: of time with the lighthouse. There's a lighthouse ghost tour
- 7:23Speaker 1: that Rita's gonna do. They go on a field trip
- 7:25Speaker 1: to this haunted lighthouse, Like, what is going on other
- 7:29Speaker 1: than that's the direct line between Jacob of the past
- 7:31Speaker 1: and Jacob of the future.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I did think about the ghost angle, and I was like,
- 7:37Speaker 2: is Jacob dead and he's the ghost at the lighthouse?
- 7:41Speaker 2: But then we have too many Jacobs. You know.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yes, I don't think Jacob's dead, but I suspect that
- 7:50Speaker 1: with so much talk about the lighthouse ghost, there has
- 7:53Speaker 1: to be some sort of connection there. Yeah to this
- 7:57Speaker 1: story Alistair Dell. Next, let's do Dell.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Look my notes say, Dell Horse neighbor Sam Bishop.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So, yeah, Dell is mean to this silver fox who
- 8:10Speaker 1: shows up to help her with her tire. Be nice
- 8:13Speaker 1: to the hot man Dell.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I just think that's who Dell is. She's very independent.
- 8:19Speaker 2: She doesn't need some dude helping her out.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I mean, stay tuned for my wishes on tomorrow's movie.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Women can be smart and capable without also being bitchy
- 8:28Speaker 1: writers and directors of the world.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with that there was so much Dell
- 8:34Speaker 2: and this horse at this episode that it was too much.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Oh, I just okay, I do think.
- 8:42Speaker 2: The significance of seeing Dell with this horse and these
- 8:45Speaker 2: ties to her childhood. It's the larger picture here is
- 8:50Speaker 2: that she's happy. She's connecting to happiness again because obviously
- 8:56Speaker 2: she had a horse when she was a child, and
- 8:58Speaker 2: then she lost the horse because of her father's finances.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Blah blah blah. She marries Colton, they're very frugal, they
- 9:07Speaker 2: don't have a horse. He wants to get her a horse.
- 9:09Speaker 2: She's like, it's fine, we can't have we can't have
- 9:12Speaker 2: both of our dreams, or something like that. And now
- 9:15Speaker 2: she's finally getting the horse again. She's reconnecting to the
- 9:17Speaker 2: things that make her happy. I think the bigger picture
- 9:21Speaker 2: here is that perhaps she's going to move on with
- 9:25Speaker 2: this Sam Bishop neighbor, because she's now accepting that she
- 9:29Speaker 2: can leave Colton in the past and reconnect to happiness again.
- 9:35Speaker 1: You make a really interesting point, because I wasn't really
- 9:37Speaker 1: ready to accept that Sam Bishop, we learn later in
- 9:41Speaker 1: this episode this is his horse. I wasn't really ready
- 9:44Speaker 1: to accept that because I think the horse in the
- 9:47Speaker 1: first couple of episodes is a little bit of a
- 9:50Speaker 1: to use a term from yesterday's episode, a red herring,
- 9:52Speaker 1: A lot of us are like, did the horse time travel?
- 9:55Speaker 1: Is a horse coming through the pond, And part of
- 9:56Speaker 1: me is thinking, there's greater significance she talks about. This
- 9:59Speaker 1: horse looks like her childhood horse, and my brain's like,
- 10:02Speaker 1: where is this horse coming from? And even once Sam
- 10:04Speaker 1: Bishop says you stole my horse, I think that's not
- 10:06Speaker 1: his horse. But I think you're right that the horse
- 10:10Speaker 1: is about a bigger message. And it's interesting that you
- 10:14Speaker 1: think about it's about her moving on. That's not I
- 10:17Speaker 1: didn't gather that, but I like that. The other thing
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think is it's painting a picture of how she
- 10:22Speaker 1: talks about to Alice, about how she vowed to never
- 10:25Speaker 1: be in the same position that she was in as
- 10:27Speaker 1: a child. This horse is bringing that moment full circle,
- 10:32Speaker 1: and she's gonna have to potentially let go of the
- 10:35Speaker 1: land in order to be wise. I think there's something
- 10:40Speaker 1: there about her making responsible choices, and this is the
- 10:46Speaker 1: childhood connection there. I still wonder if there's some greater
- 10:50Speaker 1: significance to this horse, though, or if it was just
- 10:52Speaker 1: the vehicle with which to bring her and Sam together.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I guess we'll just have to wait and see, and
- 10:58Speaker 2: we'll just have to wait and see. Oh yea, let's
- 11:00Speaker 2: talk about Alice. Alice gets a job and maybe a
- 11:05Speaker 2: new love interest in Noah. He is the recently graduated
- 11:11Speaker 2: high school graduate. Why that was significantly mentioned. I don't know.
- 11:17Speaker 2: He's real cute, and I'm happy that Alice is getting
- 11:22Speaker 2: age appropriate friends on current day.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Percent is in my LIGs, like finally Alice is getting
- 11:28Speaker 1: to be a teenager and not just taking care of
- 11:32Speaker 1: Dell and being her mom's time traveling sounding board, Like
- 11:35Speaker 1: let's have a crush, Let's have these cute moments, Let's
- 11:38Speaker 1: have a first job, Let's have all of these teen
- 11:41Speaker 1: Alice moments.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Right. But I wonder why they got rid of Spencer,
- 11:45Speaker 2: Like why didn't he remained that for her?
- 11:49Speaker 1: I think it's gotta be an actor having other obligations.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Oh perhaps, yeah, yeah, I don't way.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't suspect that there's a bigger story there.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm super even in that first episode. Or do we
- 12:04Speaker 1: just hear his voice when he pulls up to pick
- 12:06Speaker 1: her up?
- 12:07Speaker 2: That's a good question. I don't remember. I don't remember. Hmm. Regardless,
- 12:14Speaker 2: I am happy that Noah has appeared. He's cute. I
- 12:18Speaker 2: think there's some there was obviously some like flirty tension
- 12:22Speaker 2: between the two of them. We have her time the
- 12:25Speaker 2: last of Noah. Yeah, for sure, we will get Okay, well,
- 12:29Speaker 2: let's move on to this. I'm going to move on
- 12:31Speaker 2: to Elliott because he is connected with Alice in this
- 12:34Speaker 2: episode quite a bit. Elliet's having a hard time with
- 12:37Speaker 2: memories of his absent dad and how the Landrys were
- 12:39Speaker 2: family to him. We finally see him make peace with
- 12:43Speaker 2: Kat regarding time travel, but he's still keeping secrets from Alice,
- 12:49Speaker 2: especially about returning to two thousand. It has to have
- 12:52Speaker 2: something to do with that party at Lingamore.
- 12:55Speaker 1: That's a great point. Yeah, he makes a very cryptic
- 12:58Speaker 1: comment to her about not rushing back into the past.
- 13:01Speaker 1: People aren't going to be as you remember them. Clearly,
- 13:04Speaker 1: something darker is coming for these two. Obviously Alice goes
- 13:08Speaker 1: back again at some point, but that's still more questions
- 13:12Speaker 1: than answers for me.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I think this season is going to end with oh
- 13:18Speaker 2: that episode, yeah something, Yeah that I hope. Yeah, whatever
- 13:23Speaker 2: is happening there at the mansion, that would be a
- 13:25Speaker 2: good cliffhanger.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I agree, that's a great point. We have a new
- 13:29Speaker 1: character alert in the form of Casey Goodwin, the Goodwin grandchild,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and to me, they're like a Rory Gilmore Billie Eilish
- 13:36Speaker 1: mash up. They want to volunteer at the Harald with Cat,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and we don't get any more information about the Goodwin
- 13:41Speaker 1: family in this moment other than that Casey mentions sometimes
- 13:45Speaker 1: families drift apart, but this does keep that family in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the mix. In addition to obviously Cat having all of
- 13:52Speaker 1: this material from the family. And again, since we're questioning everything,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I wonder is there more to Casey wanting to be
- 13:59Speaker 1: involve Do they just want to work at the newspaper
- 14:02Speaker 1: or do they want access to all these items that
- 14:05Speaker 1: came from their family's estate.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Maybe I thought it was pretty suspicious, like they show
- 14:11Speaker 2: Casey have a reaction to Kat's conversation when a Kat
- 14:15Speaker 2: is asking about the age progression of her brother Jacob,
- 14:19Speaker 2: like they show Casey like turn and look. But I
- 14:22Speaker 2: mean maybe therese.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'm just looking for clues wherever they are because we
- 14:28Speaker 1: remain with so many more questions than answers. Yeah, you know,
- 14:32Speaker 1: Alice hasn't really had a good friend in the present.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Her only friend has been her mother in the past
- 14:38Speaker 1: and Spencer, who's gone and she needs a friend. She
- 14:41Speaker 1: can't just talk to her mom about her crush.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Agree, That's why I'm happy that they are setting Alice
- 14:48Speaker 2: up to have some relationships that make sense.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Is there anything else you liked about this episode? I do.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I have just a few little things. The scene between
- 14:57Speaker 2: Elijah and Kat when he tells her she's family was
- 15:00Speaker 2: really really good. It really took my breath away, like
- 15:03Speaker 2: watching Kat finally realizing that perhaps he has found Jacob.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Mm hmm. I thought it was quite moving. Oh you
- 15:12Speaker 2: mentioned this either in the first episode or the second episode,
- 15:16Speaker 2: but I love how they are incorporating the young actors
- 15:20Speaker 2: into the memories with the current day actors, Like you
- 15:23Speaker 2: had mentioned it with Colton and how like it didn't
- 15:26Speaker 2: make sense for Colton to show scenes with him back
- 15:30Speaker 2: in nineteen ninety nine two thousand, right, because we've moved
- 15:34Speaker 2: on out of that era. But now we're getting like
- 15:38Speaker 2: Elliott and young Elliott together and they're having these like
- 15:41Speaker 2: dual scenes together where he's having memories of whatever. I
- 15:45Speaker 2: just love that they are doing that, that that these
- 15:47Speaker 2: young actors just that they still have a place on
- 15:50Speaker 2: the show.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yes, one hundred percent. I like how they're continuing that
- 15:54Speaker 1: I thought that was really interesting all the scenes we
- 15:57Speaker 1: see of Elliott physically present in those memories. Yeah, not
- 16:02Speaker 1: just having the memory, but he's standing there with his
- 16:05Speaker 1: younger self. Obviously he's not actually, but the staging of
- 16:08Speaker 1: it is really interesting visually super cool. I love it. Yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 1: And we still get some Colton and Dell moments, and
- 16:15Speaker 1: those are really sweet and remind us of Dell's softer side.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I enjoyed their horse moment I'm gonna get you that horse,
- 16:21Speaker 1: Deli and I thought it was really funny when Alice
- 16:25Speaker 1: is like, oh I forgot you were a horse girl.
- 16:26Speaker 1: That's such a that's such.
- 16:28Speaker 2: A twenty twenty moment. Yeah, yeah, that's absolutely something a
- 16:34Speaker 2: teenager would say today. Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I love Rita going to town on that Lasagna. Rita's
- 16:39Speaker 1: moments of comic relief in every episode are brief but welcome.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It's so funny because I hated Rita last year. I
- 16:47Speaker 2: remember thinking like not and hates a strong word. I
- 16:50Speaker 2: just was like, you're so annoying. But this year she
- 16:53Speaker 2: has come with the comedy and I am here for it.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I love it. I love it. Yeah, And I've been
- 16:59Speaker 2: thinking about Lasagna ever since that scene too, Since watching
- 17:02Speaker 2: it looks.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Like so good, I was like, wow, it wasn't being
- 17:04Speaker 1: pretty good? Do I want to make that tonight?
- 17:07Speaker 2: It's sounds delicious. I'm so happy that we get an
- 17:11Speaker 2: introduction of Casey. I know we just briefly mentioned it before,
- 17:15Speaker 2: but shout out to they them. I really loved that
- 17:21Speaker 2: Hallmark Is has an actor, a non binary actor. Not okay,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I take that back. It's not a non binary actor.
- 17:29Speaker 2: It's a non binary character, which I don't think we've
- 17:33Speaker 2: seen on Hallmark.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I'm not sure we've ever gotten a call out of
- 17:37Speaker 1: a non non binary character. I loved it. It's handled
- 17:39Speaker 1: very smoothly. It's handled as if it would be handled
- 17:42Speaker 1: in real life. When she just corrects her to grandchild
- 17:46Speaker 1: and says they them, and Kat says okay and then
- 17:48Speaker 1: move on, y'all, that's just the way it is that
- 17:51Speaker 1: I learn someone's name that now you know their pronouns
- 17:53Speaker 1: and use it correctly exactly.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I just thought that was cool, super cool, And I
- 17:57Speaker 2: got to say I loved the the episode. It was
- 18:00Speaker 2: a great cliffhanger. When Cat finds the photos of the pond,
- 18:03Speaker 2: I just I was like, oh no, now we got
- 18:06Speaker 2: another another layer. You know what I mean? This is
- 18:10Speaker 2: just such a layered show.
- 18:13Speaker 1: They haven't missed a beat, really and real. Since we
- 18:16Speaker 1: have more unsolved mysteries, let's hop into the unsolved mysteries
- 18:20Speaker 1: segment of this episode. Yeah, and I just built as
- 18:23Speaker 1: I have every time upon my list from the past.
- 18:27Speaker 1: The horse was our number one question last time. Sam
- 18:29Speaker 1: Bishop says it's his. I remain like five percent of
- 18:34Speaker 1: me thinks maybe there's something else there, but perhaps I'm
- 18:37Speaker 1: just reading too much in Okay, do we know who's
- 18:40Speaker 1: in the bushes during the fireworks scene? The answer is
- 18:42Speaker 1: still no.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yep.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Alice thinks that maybe Jacob painted the cat portrait. I
- 18:47Speaker 1: don't love that answer. Why it's so like Bozomy. I
- 18:52Speaker 1: just feel like, oh.
- 18:55Speaker 2: You feel like whoever painted that portrait there was a
- 18:59Speaker 2: romantic and there I.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Do my Catherine feels romantic as opposed to sisterly. H Okay,
- 19:09Speaker 1: we don't have any more information about the Lcolmore estate
- 19:12Speaker 1: other than Casey saying families drift apart and potentially your
- 19:16Speaker 1: idea that Elliott's warning to Alice has to do with that.
- 19:20Speaker 1: We don't know anything about the soil. We don't know
- 19:22Speaker 1: what Dell was going to tell Cat. And we don't
- 19:25Speaker 1: know specifically why Dell gave Alice to the looking glass.
- 19:28Speaker 1: She does read from it briefly in the beginning, but
- 19:31Speaker 1: I don't have any insight onto the greater significance of
- 19:34Speaker 1: that book. I think you covered it, and you did
- 19:37Speaker 1: mention earlier. Elijah Landry mentions the stones have come loose.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Feels like an odd detail to include if it's not relevant. Yes,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I hope start shaking those stones, Cat, go home?
- 19:47Speaker 2: What could be there? Could it be a ripped out
- 19:51Speaker 2: page from the almondusas.
- 19:53Speaker 1: And they did very clearly show that ripped page.
- 19:57Speaker 2: In this sew, but I couldn't remember if that was
- 20:00Speaker 2: from something else, Like do we know why that page
- 20:03Speaker 2: has been ripped out of the Almanac? Not that I recall, Yeah,
- 20:06Speaker 2: maybe it's a ripped Hey, did I just uncover this
- 20:09Speaker 2: unsolved mystery? Is there gonna be a wadded up piece
- 20:13Speaker 2: of paper from that almanac hidden in the stones?
- 20:17Speaker 1: And the other question is why did Elijah and Rebecca
- 20:20Speaker 1: leave Jacob off their family listing in the almanac? If
- 20:24Speaker 1: he was raised as.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Their own I don't know. And tell me why Rebecca's dead?
- 20:30Speaker 1: Where did Rebecca go, Yes, maybe she's not dead.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Maybe she's in the pond somewhere.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Maybe she's dell. No, Okay, she's read it.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I mean, if she if she, if she she's colted,
- 20:48Speaker 2: No she went, if she went? Okay, wait a minute,
- 20:52Speaker 2: let me just think this through. If she she died,
- 20:55Speaker 2: I'm saying that with quotation like it's eighteen whatever fifteen,
- 21:01Speaker 2: Like nobody's seen somebody die on their deathbed, you know
- 21:05Speaker 2: what I mean. Like, it's not like if she just
- 21:07Speaker 2: went missing. He could be like, Oh, she died, I
- 21:09Speaker 2: buried her in on the farm, Right.
- 21:13Speaker 1: She died? Or does he say we lost her last year? Oh?
- 21:18Speaker 2: I don't remember, but he says something.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Last last year. Hold on, let me see what I
- 21:23Speaker 1: wrote a note. Oh, I wrote, Elijah's wife passed, but
- 21:26Speaker 1: I don't remember the word. I don't know if that's
- 21:28Speaker 1: how I wrote it down. Oh my goodness, so many questions,
- 21:32Speaker 1: including did we find Jacob? And I'm still giving this
- 21:35Speaker 1: one a maybe.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Look, I think it's a maybe too. I do love
- 21:40Speaker 2: this scenario. Of course, he would be an adult in
- 21:43Speaker 2: eighteen fourteen. And I love how Kat explains that kind
- 21:46Speaker 2: of like aha moment to Alice like, of course he's
- 21:50Speaker 2: going to be he's going to have aged. She was like,
- 21:53Speaker 2: I'm looking for a child. He's not gonna be a child.
- 21:55Speaker 2: It's been twenty four years.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I didn't know that because if maybe the pond is
- 21:59Speaker 1: she he doesn't know that, right, because if the pond
- 22:02Speaker 1: takes her back to the moment in time when he
- 22:05Speaker 1: time traveled back, I mean the pond can take Alice
- 22:07Speaker 1: back to her mother as a younger person. So I
- 22:10Speaker 1: don't think it's all that wild that Kat didn't realize
- 22:13Speaker 1: she's looking for an adult. Yeah, she's time traveling. The
- 22:17Speaker 1: rules are weird.
- 22:18Speaker 2: The rules are weird, But the question remains, will we
- 22:22Speaker 2: When will we meet eighteen fourteen adult Jacob?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Yes, soon, I hope, I hope so too.
- 22:30Speaker 2: And so too.
- 22:31Speaker 1: We do have a two week break due to the
- 22:32Speaker 1: super Bowl. There will be no new episode of The
- 22:35Speaker 1: Way Home next weekend. And you know who else took
- 22:37Speaker 1: a break as Gen Pike in There were no contemporary songs.
- 22:42Speaker 1: There's background music, of course, but nothing in this episode
- 22:46Speaker 1: to include in our Pike and does it again category? Unfortunately, Yeah,
- 22:50Speaker 1: I missed it, me too, well.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I thought this was a really good episode. I mean
- 22:55Speaker 2: for a second season. You know that they say that
- 22:58Speaker 2: sophomore slump. Sometimes second season is not as good as
- 23:01Speaker 2: the first, but I'm here for it. It's been really good.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yes, no sophomore slump in my opinion, They've really come
- 23:09Speaker 1: and swing in yea.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Well.
