- 0:04Speaker 1: Hi, everybody.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Can I just say something right out the gate?
- 0:08Speaker 1: Yes. And I know people can't see it.
- 0:10Speaker 2: They're probably mad that I'm bringing this up.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It looks worse. I am having a big problem over here.
- 0:16Speaker 2: What's going on behind you? It's getting worse.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I don't. Okay. This is the least of my problems.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Let me tell you that. I know because you just
- 0:24Speaker 1: spilled water everywhere. This is the least of the problems.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Tell everybody.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Tell everybody everything happening at your house, please.
- 0:30Speaker 1: It's rough, guys. I even have updates for you. I
- 0:32Speaker 1: have updates for you. I'll just start from the beginning.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It all started this past.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Weekend, Labor Day weekend. um we're all excited it's uh
- 0:44Speaker 4: uh we're going to disneyland it's sunday morning the the
- 0:47Speaker 4: two-year-old is like i can't wait to go to disneyland
- 0:50Speaker 4: mama when are we leaving are we leaving right now
- 0:52Speaker 4: mama when are we leaving oh no we have finally
- 0:55Speaker 4: all all two kids ready to go diaper bag is
- 0:58Speaker 4: packed car is packed with.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The baby was going to disneyland oh yeah everyone during
- 1:02Speaker 1: a hurricane during la's.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Hurricane i know i was gonna say it's raining it's
- 1:05Speaker 2: pouring And.
- 1:06Speaker 4: So we delayed. The reason why the toddler was so
- 1:08Speaker 4: aggro about leaving is we delayed. Usually we'll leave first
- 1:12Speaker 4: thing in the morning. So we get there and, you know, whatever,
- 1:14Speaker 4: knock out a few rides. Then they go on their nap.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Attractions.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I think they're called attractions.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Attractions. Well, couldn't happen this time because there was a
- 1:21Speaker 1: hurricane in LA.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So you were going to Disneyland in the rain?
- 1:25Speaker 4: Well, this is the last time we could really go
- 1:27Speaker 4: before things got crazy for the fall.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I mean, really. And we promised the toddler that we
- 1:33Speaker 1: would go before he started school. And he started school
- 1:36Speaker 1: this week. What's so crazy? This fall. I know. I know.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I feel like you could have found it, Jay.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But okay. So you're going in a hurricane. And I'm like, John.
- 1:46Speaker 1: That's my husband's name. I'm going to run and grab
- 1:49Speaker 1: sunglasses just in case it gets sunny from my room.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Walked to my room. Oh, no. As I'm walking to
- 1:54Speaker 1: my room, just two water drops on my forehead. Oh,
- 2:01Speaker 1: it's so bad. Bubbles. The bubbles. A leak. Just a
- 2:06Speaker 1: straight up leak.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I've been there.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Anyways, my husband's like, we got to fix this now.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So Disneyland got canceled?
- 2:13Speaker 1: It did not. It did not.
- 2:14Speaker 4: I said, Jonathan, there's nothing you're going to do in
- 2:17Speaker 4: the middle of a hurricane right now. Or going to Disneyland.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Put a bucket underneath the water drop. We'll fix it
- 2:24Speaker 4: when it's dry. There's nothing you can do.
- 2:26Speaker 3: The one problem is the anxiety it causes that you're like,
- 2:29Speaker 3: when I get home, is my ceiling going to be gone?
- 2:32Speaker 4: I was pretty proud of myself. I said, this is
- 2:34Speaker 4: not ruining our day. Grab a bucket, put it under
- 2:37Speaker 4: the raindrop, and we will figure this out.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Do you guys remember... I wish we could find that video.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I need to find that video so that we can
- 2:45Speaker 3: post it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Of what?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Now, I thought I have had multiple leaks in one
- 2:50Speaker 3: of my bedrooms. So when my living room started leaking,
- 2:56Speaker 3: I assumed, oh, my God, I've got another leak.
- 2:59Speaker 2: This is going to be bad.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Turned out it was the furnace leaking, but it was
- 3:05Speaker 3: leaking so bad that Niagara Falls came down.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Do you not remember that video?
- 3:11Speaker 1: Oh, I remember. It was a bubble.
- 3:13Speaker 2: It was pouring flood water. The whole ceiling came down.
- 3:17Speaker 5: I know.
- 3:19Speaker 4: And I was like, it was like the paint was
- 3:21Speaker 4: hanging on for dear life.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Like it was just like, and then it just came
- 3:25Speaker 3: down and it was, and I had just bought the house.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I mean, it was like, Literally, I had just bought
- 3:31Speaker 3: the house and it was Christmas time. I just packed
- 3:32Speaker 3: a suitcase and.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Went to my mom's. Like I was like, this is,
- 3:35Speaker 2: I cannot handle this.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I remember when you did that. You're like, I'm going
- 3:38Speaker 1: to avoid this issue.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I was just like, I have to just leave. I
- 3:41Speaker 3: guess I just don't live here anymore. I got to
- 3:43Speaker 3: find that video.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It was bad. I remember that.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Because I do feel like people will get joy in
- 3:49Speaker 3: watching that video of just.
- 3:53Speaker 2: The flood. So then what happened? So you came home.
- 3:56Speaker 1: How full was the bucket?
- 3:57Speaker 4: We went to, we went to Disneyland and bucket was,
- 3:59Speaker 4: it was a quarter full. And by, I feel like
- 4:02Speaker 4: I'm being very ignorant when I say that we had
- 4:06Speaker 4: a hurricane in LA.
- 4:07Speaker 1: That's what they were calling it.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I know things like the people who actually have hurricanes
- 4:12Speaker 4: are rolling their eyes.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Totally.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Anyways, rainy. It was a weird time for rain.
- 4:17Speaker 1: And like also 98 degrees outside. So it's, I feel
- 4:21Speaker 1: like I'm in Kabul or it's just like a tropical.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Storm or something like that. Anyways, cut to we go
- 4:27Speaker 4: to Disneyland. The kids had fun.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We had ponchos on the whole time.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You might as well go on whatever it's called. Fiona's
- 4:38Speaker 3: water slide, whatever.
- 4:39Speaker 1: What is it called? Tiana's Bayou. Tiana. Fiona. Oh, my God. Yeah. No,
- 4:44Speaker 1: we did not do that because the kids are not
- 4:46Speaker 1: big enough. But we did all the rides.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I mean, because at that point, we're like, Align is
- 4:52Speaker 4: peace right now. Well, we will wait in 10 hours
- 4:56Speaker 4: of Pirates of the Caribbean because it's covered.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I found it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I found it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I found it. I found it. So then.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I'm just sending this to everybody right now so everybody
- 5:06Speaker 3: can just enjoy.
- 5:07Speaker 1: This is not the full flood. This is the remnants.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It was bad. I remember that.
- 5:14Speaker 4: The next day, everything's fine. Everything's dandy. 5 p.m.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Rolls around. Just power goes out. The whole thing. What?
- 5:26Speaker 2: Oh, but not in the neighborhood?
- 5:28Speaker 1: No, just my house. Just my house.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So then my husband's trying to reset the breakers. He's
- 5:34Speaker 1: trying to do all the things that you're supposed to do. Oh, boy.
- 5:37Speaker 4: And the outlet is just tripped. And this is on
- 5:40Speaker 4: Labor Day. So we couldn't get a location out there.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Nobody available. Nothing. I'm counting my lucky stars that everything
- 5:48Speaker 1: in the house turned off except for the refrigerator and
- 5:52Speaker 1: except for the kids' bedrooms. Like of all places, at
- 5:55Speaker 1: least those three things did not. So your bedroom has
- 5:58Speaker 1: no power.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Half the house has no power, but parts do.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:02Speaker 4: The kids bedrooms have to have been on the same
- 6:05Speaker 4: circuit as the refrigerator. But like of all the things
- 6:09Speaker 4: I needed to stay sane was those.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I would not turn on a blow dryer during that.
- 6:13Speaker 3: That feels like a blow dryer would just take it out.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Engineer or not engineer.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Electrician comes the next day and he resets it and
- 6:23Speaker 4: he goes, look, half of your house is old.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You got to redo the wiring.
- 6:27Speaker 4: And we are in this like very weird phase of
- 6:29Speaker 4: our house journey right now.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I also wonder, how do you even do that? Do
- 6:33Speaker 1: you have to tear out all the walls? No, they
- 6:35Speaker 1: like do it above in the attic. They spend a
- 6:38Speaker 1: lot of time in the attic.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Oh, it sounds so sketchy.
- 6:42Speaker 4: And then they pull out like all the sockets and
- 6:44Speaker 4: like go that way and then up.
- 6:46Speaker 3: This is making my air conditioner breaking less bad and
- 6:51Speaker 3: my car getting hit while it was parked. Right.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Well, so the electrician comes, he goes, you have to
- 6:58Speaker 4: redo the wiring of basically 75% of your house.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You're like, sir, with what money?
- 7:05Speaker 1: We're in this. And he's like, this is going to
- 7:07Speaker 1: be probably a $ 4, 000 job. I'm like, great. I don't
- 7:10Speaker 1: have that. We're also in this like weird thing. We're
- 7:12Speaker 1: either going to sell our house and get another house
- 7:15Speaker 1: or we're going to remodel our house. And I'm like,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I do not want to put money into this. Which
- 7:20Speaker 1: I told you, this is what I did.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I thought I was going to keep the old car.
- 7:25Speaker 3: So I put $ 7, 000 into an old car.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Which wasn't smart. I know that.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And then it broke again. I've done that twice in
- 7:34Speaker 1: old cars.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Put the money in thinking I'm going to stretch it
- 7:36Speaker 3: out and then it just breaks again.
- 7:38Speaker 2: And it's just not worth it.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So, yeah. So he reset it and he goes, I'm
- 7:43Speaker 1: going to reset it. I'm just letting you know.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Seems fire hazard. I don't want to be scary, but
- 7:48Speaker 3: I feel like you need to get that investigated.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Well, he goes, this is going to happen again. He's like,
- 7:53Speaker 1: but for now, don't run the dishwasher or the microwave.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Oh, the old don't run the hair dryer with the
- 8:01Speaker 3: bathroom fan on. This is Sebastian Maniscalco's like favorite bit.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So I literally go, oh, I've heard that. I will
- 8:08Speaker 1: not do the washer and dryer at the same time
- 8:10Speaker 1: as the dishwasher at the same time as the microwave.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Got it. One appliance at a time.
- 8:16Speaker 2: One appliance at a time.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah. We are doing nothing. We are sitting down watching TV.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It went out.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It went out.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It went out again. When?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Last night?
- 8:26Speaker 1: Last night around 6 p.m.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Is it on now?
- 8:29Speaker 5: So.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Call the electrician again. Hey, dude, it happened again.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And I was, I swear I wasn't running this.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell you, but it's, you
- 8:38Speaker 1: got to do something. You got to spend the money
- 8:40Speaker 1: to like.
- 8:41Speaker 2: So what are you going to do?
- 8:42Speaker 1: $ 4, 000.
- 8:43Speaker 4: So they came today and they reset it again. So
- 8:47Speaker 4: I'm with power again. However, we just got a bigger issue.
- 8:51Speaker 4: And he goes right now, I'm going to brainstorm with
- 8:54Speaker 4: your general contractor and see if there's something that we
- 8:56Speaker 4: can do. For if you do decide to renovate this house,
- 8:58Speaker 4: that it wouldn't be a complete waste of money.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Right. Smart, smart, smart, smart.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Good electrician you found. Who gave you this guy?
- 9:06Speaker 1: My general contractor. They're in cahoots. There you go. I
- 9:10Speaker 1: like it though.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I like it.
- 9:11Speaker 1: It's fine. I like it. So that's where we're at
- 9:13Speaker 1: right now.
- 9:14Speaker 4: And we're just, he just left my house maybe 45
- 9:17Speaker 4: minutes ago and he's going to get back to me.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Wow. Wow.
- 9:23Speaker 2: My air conditioner is working again. I finally... Had to,
- 9:27Speaker 2: I don't want to, I don't want to.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Is mercury in retrograde right now? I don't know, but
- 9:32Speaker 1: it kind of feels like it. Because five minutes before
- 9:35Speaker 1: this Zoom, just my water bottle.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Water bottle?
- 9:38Speaker 1: I went to go get a plug for my phone,
- 9:42Speaker 1: reached across, knocked it over.
- 9:43Speaker 5: I've done it.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You know what?
- 9:45Speaker 2: One of my favorites is when you drop the whole
- 9:47Speaker 2: thing of blueberries.
- 9:48Speaker 1: That's an oldie, but a goodie.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And they just.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Now, when you drop the whole thing of blueberries, do
- 9:53Speaker 3: you scoop them back up and keep them or are
- 9:55Speaker 3: they done so.
- 9:58Speaker 6: Scoop them back up it depends how long they've been
- 9:59Speaker 6: on the floor and where you drop them.
- 10:01Speaker 3: For me they're done so if the blueberries are rolling
- 10:04Speaker 3: on the floor i'm out i'm out i know most
- 10:07Speaker 3: people would.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Keep yeah i probably would keep because you have to
- 10:10Speaker 1: wash them anyway i.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Know but i can't do it something in me is
- 10:13Speaker 3: just like it rolled on.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Like Mercury is nodding around your gate. And you know
- 10:17Speaker 1: what that means? I would hate to see what it
- 10:18Speaker 1: looks like when it is. Yeah, true.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Let's talk about something else for a moment, and then
- 10:22Speaker 3: we'll come back to all this. But the pile behind
- 10:25Speaker 3: you is just getting worse.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I know. Are there chips in that Popcorners bag? There is.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Costco bag. I'd eat that.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I just dig into those.
- 10:33Speaker 3: There is.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Below is towels left over from a beach day that we.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Were at two weeks ago. I know. Those have been
- 10:37Speaker 1: around for a while. That is a sand toy bag. Wow.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Over here to this area is, I have two kids'
- 10:44Speaker 4: birthdays coming up. This is just stuff for goodie bags
- 10:47Speaker 4: and birthday party decor. And the target bag right here,
- 10:50Speaker 4: as you see exhibit A, is.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Kids' toys for their birthdays. A lot of clutter. That
- 10:55Speaker 1: have not been wrapped yet. A lot of clutter.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Oh, and then there's a present that somebody gave me
- 11:01Speaker 4: that I'm saving for one of the kids.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Birthday parties.
- 11:04Speaker 2: To re-gift?
- 11:05Speaker 1: No, that they gave for me for the kids.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Oh, but it's already, somebody's ahead.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Of the game. Yeah, because they're not coming to the
- 11:10Speaker 1: birthday party. And so they're like, here, I'm going to
- 11:13Speaker 1: give it to you now.
- 11:14Speaker 2: What are you doing for the birthdays?
- 11:17Speaker 1: Well, the two-year-old that's turning three is not getting a
- 11:20Speaker 1: birthday party this year.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Well, he is.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 11:22Speaker 5: He is.
- 11:22Speaker 1: He is. Let me rephrase this. He is.
- 11:25Speaker 4: It's just with immediate family, pizza party.
- 11:29Speaker 1: That's it. We're not doing a thing. He's had two
- 11:32Speaker 1: years of a thing.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I don't care for that.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I didn't do a thing either for my three-year-old.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Are you guys kidding me?
- 11:40Speaker 3: I don't want to be like rude, but the three-year-old
- 11:43Speaker 3: is finally when they could actually know they're having a
- 11:45Speaker 3: birthday party.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I mean, it was a party for me and my
- 11:48Speaker 1: immediate family. This is what I will say.
- 11:49Speaker 4: The three-year-old does not care if there's five people there
- 11:52Speaker 4: or 30. All he cares about is he has a cupcake,
- 11:55Speaker 4: he has a candle in it, and people are singing
- 11:57Speaker 4: happy birthday to him.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And balloons and gifts. Yep. That's all that matters. He
- 12:01Speaker 1: doesn't care.
- 12:01Speaker 2: All right, fine.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So he's stoked for his birthday party, but he doesn't.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Realize it's five people.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Can he get a pony?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Can he bring a pony in or anything?
- 12:06Speaker 1: No.
- 12:07Speaker 3: No.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Because the one-year-old is getting a badge. A mini pony?
- 12:11Speaker 1: And I can't do any more than that. Why is
- 12:14Speaker 1: a one-year-old getting the big bash?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Because it's one.
- 12:17Speaker 1: It's one.
- 12:18Speaker 2: How many people are coming to that?
- 12:20Speaker 1: Well, when I extend it to my family, that's 80
- 12:23Speaker 1: people minimum. So this is going to be like people. Yes.
- 12:27Speaker 1: That's what Christmas looks like in the Romo household. That's
- 12:30Speaker 1: just my family. That's not even my husband's family. That's
- 12:33Speaker 1: my family. Who are all these 80 people?
- 12:36Speaker 2: We don't care.
- 12:36Speaker 1: My dad is one of six. We don't want to
- 12:38Speaker 1: hear it.
- 12:38Speaker 2: We don't care. We don't care.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And they all got offspring. Everybody listening. Offspring have offspring.
- 12:44Speaker 1: They get it.
- 12:45Speaker 2: They've got it too.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Anyway, let's talk about something that I am currently obsessed
- 12:51Speaker 3: with in like a good way and a disturbed way.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Did you see the trailer for the Elizabeth Holmes documentary?
- 13:00Speaker 1: I did. It was fantastic.
- 13:02Speaker 3: It wasn't even a trailer. It was just like a
- 13:03Speaker 3: clip with her eyes. Were you so uncomfortable? I was
- 13:06Speaker 3: so uncomfortable. I was like, is this... First of all,
- 13:10Speaker 3: I kept saying, oh, there goes the first of all.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I kept saying to myself, is that her? Or is
- 13:16Speaker 3: that a really good actress portraying her? What is she doing?
- 13:21Speaker 3: Isn't she in prison? Who's this guy talking to her?
- 13:26Speaker 1: Why is the camera so close on her eyes? And
- 13:29Speaker 1: why does she seem... Is Elizabeth Holmes the one that
- 13:34Speaker 1: befriended Jen Shaw in jail? Yep. They're friends in jail.
- 13:37Speaker 1: She's the Theranos lady, the.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Blood drop lady that said like this, we'll test your blood.
- 13:42Speaker 3: But it was like a lie. They wasn't testing your blood.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It was just a giant lie scheme. And Amanda Seyfried
- 13:50Speaker 3: played her in the mini series, which was quite good.
- 13:54Speaker 3: This documentary looks like a horror movie.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I'm like it.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Like, were you not like, is there gonna be a
- 14:00Speaker 3: jump scare? Like it was so weird. And then what
- 14:04Speaker 3: she's saying feels weird.
- 14:06Speaker 1: We can play. I feel like we can play it.
- 14:09Speaker 1: It's a promo.
- 14:09Speaker 6: I listened to the podcast when it came out.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Like the thing that first podcast was a big deal.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Can we play the, I know that I'm throwing everyone
- 14:16Speaker 3: a curve ball, but can we play it?
- 14:17Speaker 1: Because it's allowed to play it. It's a promo.
- 14:20Speaker 2: They want you to play it.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Jackie, you sound real good on your new mic, by
- 14:23Speaker 1: the way. Oh, thank you. I know it sounds so
- 14:26Speaker 1: much better. Thanks guys.
- 14:28Speaker 6: I remember her being quite strange in the way that
- 14:30Speaker 6: they described her in the podcast was really strange.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And so I remember how she changed her voice.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Like her professor was like, she had a different voice
- 14:38Speaker 3: and then she was very Steve jobs.
- 14:39Speaker 2: With the out.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 14:40Speaker 2: She also is a criminal.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I mean, you can argue it, but she's guilty and
- 14:46Speaker 3: is a criminal.
- 14:47Speaker 2: And is in prison. And she, I will watch this
- 14:51Speaker 2: documentary immediately.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Okay. But also, uncomfortable.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Danielle, have you seen it?
- 14:57Speaker 1: I've seen this little thingy, but I'm not so invested.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I'm not so invested in her as y'all are.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm not that person.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It's just weird.
- 15:06Speaker 5: I can promise you that. I don't have anything to
- 15:11Speaker 5: deceive you on. Of course I'm not deceiving you. I'm
- 15:14Speaker 5: engaging with you as a human being. Hmm? Why would
- 15:19Speaker 5: I deceive you? There's no, there's no reason for me
- 15:25Speaker 5: to do that.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Why are they two inches from each other?
- 15:29Speaker 1: All right. Okay, good chat.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 15:40Speaker 1: That's so weird.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Good chat.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You're being real right now? It's so weird.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I'm always being real.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Is it not weirding you guys out? Yes, it's her.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I'm always being real.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Then it seems like she wants to sleep with him.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Does it not look like they're a couple? And then
- 16:07Speaker 1: the baby's just... Oh, it's just... It does look like
- 16:11Speaker 1: a horror movie. I didn't realize that. Literally.
- 16:14Speaker 6: Is Nathan Fielder, like, is that his thing? Like, is
- 16:17Speaker 6: he playing a part in this? Or is that just
- 16:20Speaker 6: how he really is?
- 16:21Speaker 1: I don't know enough about him. Neither do I.
- 16:23Speaker 3: It looks like they're a couple. Because I thought, that's
- 16:26Speaker 3: not what her husband looks like. That's not her husband.
- 16:29Speaker 3: That's like the movie documentarian. No, but she has a husband.
- 16:34Speaker 1: He's in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 3: But that's not him. Their faces are so close together. it's,
- 16:41Speaker 3: it's literally a trailer for a horror movie.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I don't, I don't have many thoughts of,
- 16:47Speaker 1: of Elizabeth Holmes other than. Okay.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Here's my problem.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I don't believe her either.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Yeah. Clearly he doesn't believe her and I don't either.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Cause a liar is a liar. Right.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Liar is a liar. That was a very spooky trailer.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Well done.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Cause it has us all talking. Yes, and it.
- 17:09Speaker 6: Premiered at the Telluride and everybody's going crazy about it.
- 17:12Speaker 2: How do I watch it? When can I watch it?
- 17:14Speaker 1: This is TBD October. October is tomorrow. Shouldn't they have
- 17:18Speaker 1: a date?
- 17:19Speaker 6: I think they're going to release a longer probably and
- 17:22Speaker 6: then give the actual date.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Oh, good call, Jackie.
- 17:25Speaker 2: They're dragging it out.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Vanity Fair calling it worth the wait. I'm like, okay.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I don't know about this foldable iPhone. I'm into it,
- 17:40Speaker 2: but it looks heavy.
- 17:41Speaker 1: It looks very heavy.
- 17:43Speaker 2: It looks heavy and mirrored. Is that a mirror?
- 17:45Speaker 1: Almost. You can turn it.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Like, so when you're taking a photo, you can have
- 17:51Speaker 6: the camera facing you and then you can like turn
- 17:54Speaker 6: it to like face the other people, see.
- 17:55Speaker 1: What the photo looks like. So it's like that. No.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 1: It's really, really cool, but I wouldn't buy it because
- 18:01Speaker 1: it feels like- $ 2, 000.
- 18:02Speaker 3: It will be $ 2, 000.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I would. It's too much because then it becomes.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Like it's half of the cost of Danielle's electricity.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Exactly. And also, like, I already have problem fitting my
- 18:16Speaker 1: iPhone in jeans.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Oh, I can't fit this thing in any tiny clutch. So,
- 18:21Speaker 3: you know, when you go to a football game and
- 18:23Speaker 3: they're like, this is the size, my phone won't fit.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I have to hold the phone.
- 18:29Speaker 1: It's very frustrating, actually.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's heavy, too.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I love my Love Shack Fancy from Target case, but heavy.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I feel like this is going to be actually pretty thin,
- 18:40Speaker 4: but I just. This is so boomer of me, whatever.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I like when I'm somewhere, I get kind of annoyed
- 18:50Speaker 1: when people are like this.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 1: And now it's going to be like this.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Oh, she's covering the phone. She's saying how big the
- 18:58Speaker 3: phones are that they cover your whole face.
- 18:59Speaker 1: People are just going to be carrying iPads around.
- 19:00Speaker 2: You hold your phone up? I just keep mine on
- 19:03Speaker 2: the table.
- 19:03Speaker 1: When you go to a concert or when you go anywhere.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Can we talk about this for a second?
- 19:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 19:08Speaker 2: The shooting the videos at the concert.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I know. And the fireworks. And the rainbows. And the sunsets.
- 19:14Speaker 3: It's just absolutely bizarre. I went to this concert with
- 19:20Speaker 3: Spike the other day. We went to John Cougar Mellencamp.
- 19:24Speaker 3: John Mellencamp. And Spike is just shooting so many videos.
- 19:29Speaker 3: And I'm like, what are you doing with those videos?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Like he's shooting videos. And like he's a, you know.
- 19:35Speaker 1: And in the entertainment industry. Correct. He's like knows how
- 19:38Speaker 1: to shoot. So he's making a movie.
- 19:40Speaker 6: Like he's literally panning.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And doing all these things. I'm like, but I'm looking
- 19:48Speaker 1: at him like, what are you? doing? What are you doing?
- 19:52Speaker 1: Then his phone dies.
- 19:53Speaker 2: So it runs out of juice. He goes, I need
- 19:56Speaker 2: your phone.
- 19:57Speaker 3: So takes my phone and is now making Scorsese films
- 20:02Speaker 3: of the.
- 20:02Speaker 1: John Mellencamp concert with my phone.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And like, I literally looked at him like, I don't
- 20:08Speaker 3: want these and I'm going to delete these. But then
- 20:12Speaker 3: I don't have the heart to delete him because he
- 20:14Speaker 3: worked so hard with his cinematography.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'm just like, you airdrop those bad boys and delete
- 20:20Speaker 1: because that's going to take up storage. What's he doing?
- 20:23Speaker 1: I just don't think he's like, you know what I
- 20:24Speaker 1: want to do?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Relive that on a screen the size of a matchbox.
- 20:28Speaker 1: That just goes back to what I was saying. I
- 20:30Speaker 1: feel that same way. I'm a millennial. I am the boomer.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I'm not a boomer. I'm a Gen X.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm watching.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I don't shoot videos at concerts.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I want to be in the moment. I want to
- 20:42Speaker 1: watch the concert. This is what I'll do. This is
- 20:45Speaker 1: the extent of what I'll do. My favorite song, 20
- 20:49Speaker 1: seconds of it, and then it goes away. Have you
- 20:52Speaker 1: ever watched that? No, but I have to do it. Why?
- 20:55Speaker 1: I don't know, but there are people that will just
- 20:58Speaker 1: stand there.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I'm more into the people that turn around and take
- 21:01Speaker 3: the photo with the thing in the background. You know what?
- 21:04Speaker 1: All day long, I'm fine with that. Fine.
- 21:06Speaker 2: The video, I mean, let me tell you, Spike's video.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Is a masterpiece that no one will ever watch.
- 21:14Speaker 1: He shot a beautiful movie. Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 2: He is making an MTV music video that.
- 21:20Speaker 1: No one will see. No one's. I looked at him like, what? World,
- 21:25Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 21:26Speaker 4: You know what is one thing that I realized is
- 21:29Speaker 4: not on a rundown that we probably should talk about?
- 21:31Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Tell me. Traitors. Comes back next week.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Oh, the civilian one.
- 21:36Speaker 1: But I don't like that it's not celebrities. Yeah. The
- 21:38Speaker 1: civilian one. I bet you they're going to become celebrities.
- 21:41Speaker 1: These civilians. Yeah, duh.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Obviously.
- 21:44Speaker 1: For sure. But I'm kind of like, what would be intriguing?
- 21:46Speaker 4: They got to like really make this intriguing and have
- 21:49Speaker 4: us care about these people.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 4: I guess we all cared about the people on Survivor
- 21:54Speaker 4: and those were normal people.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Right, right, right. I mean, Richard Hatch, all those people
- 21:58Speaker 1: became famous.
- 21:59Speaker 2: But I don't know. Traitors is hard for me.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Weirdly, though, what does look good, this Jason Priestley show
- 22:05Speaker 3: that I think is not even new.
- 22:07Speaker 1: It's not new. It aired like seasons earlier.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Why does it say series premiere, though?
- 22:12Speaker 6: This is the spinoff, the West Coast one spinoff.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Oh, now I get it. It looks good.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Can I just start with this one and I don't
- 22:24Speaker 3: have to watch the other one?
- 22:25Speaker 1: I think so. I think they're expecting people to kind
- 22:28Speaker 1: of jump in on this one.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Got it.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Okay, so this is the spinoff of Private Eyes that
- 22:32Speaker 3: ran for five seasons.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. This is probably.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Making some pretty nice pennies from this. Five seasons in
- 22:42Speaker 3: 180 territories.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think he's making some cash. Whoa. Whoa. So this
- 22:48Speaker 1: is Private Eyes West Coast. The trailer made it look good.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I was like, this looks fun.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I'm open to, it's like my kind of show.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, me too. And they're like a couple.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and they have a kid. It's looked good. Did
- 23:03Speaker 1: you see this Carrie trailer? This is a scary movie, right? Yes,
- 23:08Speaker 1: this is the scary blood Carrie.
- 23:10Speaker 3: So is this going to be a movie or a series?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Is this going to be like Crystal Lake? Okay, so
- 23:13Speaker 3: this is like the Carrie version of Crystal Lake.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I did not see it.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Can I watch it?
- 23:19Speaker 1: That's a lot of teasers for these scary things. A
- 23:22Speaker 1: lot of horror.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I'm ready for horror.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I did go.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I went to in the search and just said horror.
- 23:28Speaker 3: So I'm rewatching Fear the Walking Dead. Let me tell
- 23:30Speaker 3: you a couple of things about Fear the Walking Dead.
- 23:32Speaker 3: So it was from like 2015 to like, I don't know,
- 23:36Speaker 3: 2023 or something like that.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And I watched it, but I never made it.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I tapped out.
- 23:41Speaker 1: So now I'm going again.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Coleman Domingo.
- 23:44Speaker 1: You know, Coleman Domingo. Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 2: He's in almost every episode and he's iconic in it.
- 23:51Speaker 3: And I knew that I knew, I remembered being like
- 23:54Speaker 3: Coleman Domingo when everyone was like Coleman Domingo. I was like,
- 23:57Speaker 3: I've known Coleman Domingo for a really long time. Like
- 24:00Speaker 3: we've been booking him on KTLA since Fear the Walking
- 24:03Speaker 3: Dead because I watched Fear the Walking Dead.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And I remember being like, this guy's a showstopper. And
- 24:08Speaker 2: let me tell you, he is.
- 24:09Speaker 1: He is a showstopper.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Crazy little fun fact, Jesse McCartney is in an episode.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Like a very bad person. A very bad person.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I love Josie.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It's good.
- 24:21Speaker 3: I'm going to say Fear the Walking Dead. I'm only
- 24:24Speaker 3: on season two again, but it's good.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Very good. If you need some zombies in your world.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I'm not feeling as sure of this Jake Gyllenhaal thing.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So first of all, here's what I said.
- 24:38Speaker 2: First of all, what's got me shook is that it's M.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Night Shyamalan. And Nicholas Sparks.
- 24:46Speaker 1: That's caught me. That caught me because that's my kind
- 24:49Speaker 1: of movie.
- 24:50Speaker 3: So we're taking The Sixth Sense and we're mixing it
- 24:55Speaker 3: with The Notebook.
- 24:56Speaker 1: The Notebook.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It looks good though. I'm interested in this one. Jake
- 25:01Speaker 1: Gyllenhaal stars as Tate Donovan.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Does that not make everybody go, how do you use
- 25:08Speaker 3: a name of a celebrity?
- 25:09Speaker 2: That literally would be like, Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Robbie Williams.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Like, what? Who's Tate Donovan? Who's Tate Donovan?
- 25:16Speaker 3: He dated Jennifer Aniston for quite a while.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Played one of her boyfriends. Yeah. On Friends. Yeah. You'll
- 25:25Speaker 1: know his face if you saw it. Let me Google.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Tate Donovan. Okay, I just pulled up a picture of him.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Does not jog my memory. Are you serious? Yeah. I
- 25:44Speaker 1: feel like he jogs my memory completely.
- 25:46Speaker 2: The OC.
- 25:47Speaker 1: He's the dad. He's Marissa's dad. You know, shocking revelation.
- 25:53Speaker 1: You've never watched it? Never watched it. It's on my
- 25:57Speaker 1: rewatch list. Danielle. I used to work out next to
- 26:01Speaker 1: Misha Barton all the time.
- 26:03Speaker 3: You would like it. You would find Seth Cohen quite amusing.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And you don't watch the OC. I mean, I love
- 26:09Speaker 1: my Adam Brody. You'd like it.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Seth Cohen is amazing.
- 26:13Speaker 1: You would love it. I've rewatched it like three or
- 26:16Speaker 1: four times. We should have a Chris-mica party.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Like, we need to embrace Chris-mica.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'm all about Christmas.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Can I ask you about this Jake Gyllenhaal thing though?
- 26:27Speaker 3: So is the girl in his mind? That's what we
- 26:30Speaker 3: don't know. Is she a ghost or is she dead?
- 26:33Speaker 3: Is she like, what is she? He's a New York architect.
- 26:35Speaker 3: who heads to Cape Cod to design a summer home
- 26:38Speaker 3: for his best friend. He's grieving the death of his
- 26:40Speaker 3: sister and had acute depression and was in a psychiatric
- 26:45Speaker 3: facility looking for a fresh start. But instead, a mysterious
- 26:48Speaker 3: woman challenges his view of the world because she's not there.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we don't know. I kind of love
- 26:55Speaker 1: that she's not there. The trailer was really good. It
- 26:57Speaker 1: got me hooked.
- 26:57Speaker 2: The trailer was good.
- 26:59Speaker 3: And I will say, I will watch Jake Gyllenhaal in
- 27:02Speaker 3: just about anything. He used to be really on the
- 27:05Speaker 3: top of my list. Like I used to be like,
- 27:08Speaker 3: I think, I think Jake is number one, but then
- 27:12Speaker 3: he's been replaced by Colin Jost.
- 27:17Speaker 2: You know, whatever.
- 27:18Speaker 1: I was on Instagram this past weekend and it was
- 27:21Speaker 1: unbelievable how many Venice film festival memes, videos that I
- 27:26Speaker 1: came across. Was I alone in this? I just don't
- 27:29Speaker 1: understand the Nina Dobrev thing.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I don't even understand it.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Is there even an explanation of it? I don't think
- 27:38Speaker 1: the red carpet sure knew who she was.
- 27:40Speaker 3: So they're all on the carpet doing their thing.
- 27:44Speaker 2: And she goes out there in this gown.
- 27:46Speaker 3: And there's also sort of like a moment. She's got
- 27:49Speaker 3: this scarf with the dress. So she has to get
- 27:52Speaker 3: in place and then do something crazy.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Which also, that made it cringier. I know!
- 27:59Speaker 1: That made it cringier. That made it worse.
- 28:01Speaker 3: And then she gets ushered away and makes the weirdest face.
- 28:05Speaker 1: She asserted that she was someone with that moment. She
- 28:08Speaker 1: asserted that I'm going to let my dress fly. It
- 28:13Speaker 1: had these wings and she's doing this moment.
- 28:15Speaker 3: But why was she ushered off? And has anything happened since?
- 28:20Speaker 1: Don't know. It was so cringy.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I watched it like a hundred times.
- 28:24Speaker 4: I truly think The guard was like, I have no
- 28:28Speaker 4: idea who this is. This is not a real celebrity.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I honestly think so.
- 28:32Speaker 1: With all that gown and the theatrics of it. I know.
- 28:38Speaker 4: The only other thing I could think of is if
- 28:40Speaker 4: somebody really important was right on the heels of her
- 28:42Speaker 4: and they needed to make room.
- 28:43Speaker 1: For that person like Oprah.
- 28:44Speaker 2: It was so cringey.
- 28:46Speaker 1: It was so cringy.
- 28:47Speaker 3: And then Nino was like, uh, okay. That's those moments
- 28:52Speaker 3: when I'm like, I am so glad that I'm not
- 28:54Speaker 3: a celebrity.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Same. Same.
- 28:56Speaker 3: The red carpet thing just in general is so like,
- 28:59Speaker 3: I get it, Ben Affleck.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I get it. You're not wrong, Ben Affleck. Yeah, how
- 29:04Speaker 1: missed he is on the red carpet. He's just... But
- 29:06Speaker 1: he would... No, he was smiling.
- 29:08Speaker 5: So smug.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I saw him smiling. But usually he's just... Correct. I
- 29:12Speaker 1: get it because he's probably like, I.
- 29:14Speaker 3: This is so gnarly. Like, oh, because he doesn't want
- 29:20Speaker 3: a Nina Dobrev moment. So he's like, I'm just going
- 29:22Speaker 3: to look like I don't want to be here in
- 29:23Speaker 3: case someone.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Ushers me off.
- 29:26Speaker 6: Right.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:27Speaker 3: 100%. I am not certain that Ben Affleck and I
- 29:30Speaker 3: are not meant to be together.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Like, I feel like. No, Amy, you're not.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I can tell you you're not. Because you think he's
- 29:37Speaker 2: too grumpy for me?
- 29:39Speaker 1: He's too grumpy for me. for you. You need somebody
- 29:41Speaker 1: who's going to dance at a party or who's going to.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I feel like I could get Ben to dance. I
- 29:46Speaker 3: think I would just be like, Ben, you know what?
- 29:48Speaker 1: Because you know what?
- 29:49Speaker 3: I have no expectations on Ben. I'd be like, Ben,
- 29:53Speaker 3: I'm going to be dancing. If you want to come over,
- 29:55Speaker 3: I want you to come over. If you want to
- 29:57Speaker 3: be in the corner looking grumpy with your Dunkin' Donuts, I'm.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Good with that too. I think we all need to
- 30:02Speaker 1: let Ben be Ben.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Okay.
- 30:05Speaker 1: What's he there for?
- 30:07Speaker 3: What's he there for?
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw him on, I saw the paparazzi with
- 30:10Speaker 2: him and the duck.
- 30:11Speaker 1: They started airing.
- 30:13Speaker 6: I was watching tennis and I started seeing the Affleck Marshalls.
- 30:15Speaker 1: He understands the assignment is what I want to say
- 30:17Speaker 1: about Ben Affleck.
- 30:18Speaker 2: He's like, you know what? Like, I get it.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I'm going to make a million dollars just sitting here
- 30:22Speaker 3: with this duck. I'm making $ 10 million with Dunkin' Donuts
- 30:26Speaker 3: and I make movies, whatever.
- 30:29Speaker 6: I totally would be happy.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I would be happy to be around Grumpy Ben.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I don't care. I just thought of something. Sorry, that
- 30:39Speaker 1: is so off topic. Was it about Ben?
- 30:41Speaker 2: But I saw it.
- 30:42Speaker 1: What? No, I saw it and I immediately thought of
- 30:46Speaker 1: you and I went to go put it in our chat.
- 30:49Speaker 2: And you had already done it.
- 30:50Speaker 1: The otter in Lake Tahoe. The otter.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I immediately started Googling. I've never seen an otter in
- 30:57Speaker 3: Lake Tahoe. So I was like, what is this? Are
- 31:00Speaker 3: they that vicious? And are they that powerful?
- 31:03Speaker 1: I've never heard of anything like this in my entire life.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Higher level I immediately googled was this in the Truckee
- 31:09Speaker 3: River or actually in Lake Tahoe and my friends like
- 31:12Speaker 3: it was in Lake Tahoe I've never seen an otter
- 31:14Speaker 3: I've never heard of anything like this it was my
- 31:18Speaker 3: niece's swim now I do think if you're if you're
- 31:21Speaker 3: near shore and there's an otter there maybe like I
- 31:25Speaker 3: don't know I'm befuddled by it and she's just covered
- 31:29Speaker 3: in blood before I even like saw where.
- 31:33Speaker 6: That was I thought it was in San Diego yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I didn't either. And she's so bloody. Yeah. I know.
- 31:42Speaker 2: I'm concerned. I got to do more research on that.
- 31:46Speaker 6: I know La Jolla, we have La Jolla shores here
- 31:48Speaker 6: and there's a ton of them, either otters or sea lions.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I don't know whichever one.
- 31:52Speaker 6: And they are just like, they just sit there and
- 31:55Speaker 6: they're unbothered until you get a little close.
- 31:57Speaker 2: But I kind of wish they were there. You know
- 31:59Speaker 2: who I know are mean? You want to know who
- 32:00Speaker 2: I know are mean?
- 32:02Speaker 1: Raccoons. Raccoons.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Raccoons can be mean.
- 32:07Speaker 3: They are, they will attack. If you ask me, bear
- 32:13Speaker 3: or five raccoons?
- 32:15Speaker 1: Bear.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Bear.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yep. Amy, you turned us on to Alan Richson. Obviously,
- 32:20Speaker 1: we all think he's very- Oh my gosh.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Did you hear him singing?
- 32:22Speaker 1: I know. I did not know he could sing. And
- 32:24Speaker 1: did you know that he- I knew. Tried out for
- 32:28Speaker 1: American Idol.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I knew it all.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 32:30Speaker 3: What I didn't know- Here's what I knew. I knew
- 32:32Speaker 3: he tried out for Idol and like, he didn't become
- 32:34Speaker 3: the Idol. So I thought, eh, maybe his voice is
- 32:36Speaker 3: only okay. Then I stumbled on that Instagram, TikTok, whatever
- 32:40Speaker 3: it was, where he is singing. And I'm like, this
- 32:43Speaker 3: guy is a phenomenal singer.
- 32:47Speaker 1: He's super hunky. Reacher is the best show.
- 32:51Speaker 3: That dude is also nine, nine feet tall and maybe
- 32:54Speaker 3: like 300 pounds.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Like he's like massively muscly.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Like he's so mad. He's been married forever. Like got
- 33:01Speaker 1: the kids and he just seems like a good dude.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 1: The singing. Here's the thing.
- 33:06Speaker 3: When you're a football player looking guy, but you sing
- 33:11Speaker 3: like an angel, it's an excellent combination.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I had no idea. I was like this. What?
- 33:19Speaker 2: Like frozen. I could not believe how.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Good he was. Oh my God.
- 33:22Speaker 3: I love that.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Do you watch Reacher?
- 33:23Speaker 2: Reacher is so good, you guys.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I'm caught up. Eddie does, but I don't. Yeah, he's
- 33:27Speaker 1: caught up too.
- 33:27Speaker 2: His season is particularly good.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah. It's really good. He's in the other room watching Reacher.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I'm in my room watching Bravo.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I think I'm on the Reacher. I'm like Reacher, horror movies, action.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Give me the action.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Gwyneth Paltrow spoke about Brad Pitt on Friends Keep Secrets.
- 33:49Speaker 3: What podcast is that? That's the Benny Blanco one. Where
- 33:53Speaker 3: they're all in the living room.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:55Speaker 3: You had me at Benny Blanco. That is genius. Everything
- 33:59Speaker 3: about Benny Blanco is freaking genius. Did you see his
- 34:02Speaker 3: stuff with Martha Stewart?
- 34:03Speaker 1: I didn't see the Martha Stewart. I did. Selling her
- 34:07Speaker 1: air fryers. And I'm like, Benny Blanco....
- 34:11Speaker 2: I get it, Selena.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I get it.
- 34:13Speaker 3: This guy is a charming love bug who worships you.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I get it. Yeah. Yeah. I get it, too. I
- 34:23Speaker 1: definitely get it.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Benny and Martha is almost as good as Snoop and Martha.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Not quite, but almost.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Anyway, so what did she say? Gwyneth say?
- 34:33Speaker 6: Oh, she knew about him before she did the movie.
- 34:35Speaker 6: She got cast as kind of like handsome. Yeah, that
- 34:39Speaker 6: it was a really fun, beautiful. It was like a
- 34:43Speaker 6: love at first sight type of thing.
- 34:45Speaker 3: So I guess the big clickbait was that she felt shame.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Because they called off their engagement.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah. And that she was just young.
- 34:55Speaker 3: So doesn't it make you want to do sliding doors?
- 34:57Speaker 3: Speaking of Gwyneth, like what if they never broke up?
- 34:59Speaker 3: What if they got married? What if he never married
- 35:00Speaker 3: Jennifer Aniston? Then would we never have the Angelina Jolie?
- 35:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:07Speaker 2: A couple of thoughts as we end. Armie Hammer and
- 35:10Speaker 2: the mustache.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I am going to go no. Is he going to
- 35:14Speaker 1: come back? I don't know.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I feel like maybe he should, but the mustache is
- 35:20Speaker 3: a hard no. She's sort of having more of a career,
- 35:22Speaker 3: the ex-wife. She's got multiple things.
- 35:26Speaker 1: What's her name? Elizabeth Chambers. She was on Two Teas
- 35:28Speaker 1: and a Pod recently.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and she's got a TV show.
- 35:31Speaker 1: She's got a podcast.
- 35:33Speaker 6: And she's got like bird bakeries in Texas and all that.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Oh, by the way, I was surprised by her. Like,
- 35:40Speaker 1: She's nice.
- 35:40Speaker 2: She lived in my building.
- 35:42Speaker 1: I know her. Oh my gosh. She's so sweet. Pre-Army Hammer.
- 35:45Speaker 2: We all lived in the same building.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Sarcastic. You know what's weird? Is a mustache on Army
- 35:50Speaker 1: Hammer really makes him look different. It's not.
- 35:53Speaker 3: He shouldn't be doing the mustache. And look, Army, I
- 35:57Speaker 3: want you to have a comeback and I like you.
- 36:00Speaker 3: But the mustache makes him look creepier. Right.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Like he needs to be clean.
- 36:07Speaker 2: No more turtlenecks.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Just t-shirts, very average, clean cut, no mustache because it
- 36:13Speaker 3: makes you kind of hot and yet kind of creepy.
- 36:16Speaker 1: We can't have that.
- 36:17Speaker 2: We can't have that.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Now, I understand that when I simultaneously told Taylor Hansen
- 36:23Speaker 3: to get rid of the beard, he already had, but
- 36:26Speaker 3: I didn't know that. So thank you, Taylor, for understanding.
- 36:33Speaker 3: I think he might be my favorite.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 2: He might be getting my votes.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Yeah, you see, we've talked about this a lot, Amy,
- 36:41Speaker 4: about how we are really excited for this season of
- 36:43Speaker 4: Dancing with the Stars. But I can't decide who's getting
- 36:46Speaker 4: my vote.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Like, I'm really, I love so many of them. You
- 36:48Speaker 1: can vote for everybody. You know who might get my votes?
- 36:52Speaker 2: Because she's coming across very well on Instagram. Julia Stiles.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, she is. Her Instagrams are good.
- 36:59Speaker 3: She seems to genuinely be sort of like shocked by
- 37:03Speaker 3: how much everyone's supporting her and totally appreciative.
- 37:06Speaker 4: And Mark and Maura are the, are killing me on Instagram.
- 37:10Speaker 4: I am tears rolling down my, my face. Like they
- 37:14Speaker 4: are so funny. And I, I, Mark Ballas.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I love Mark. Mark is, yes. Mark is one of
- 37:20Speaker 1: our good friends and we love him.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I love Mark Ballas.
- 37:23Speaker 3: So I love Mark Ballas so much that it's hard
- 37:26Speaker 3: for me to love anyone other than his partner.
- 37:30Speaker 2: But yet Taylor Hanson is.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Oh, you see, I'm on the same page as you.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I love Mark.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Mark is one of our really good friends. I always
- 37:38Speaker 4: vote for Mark. But I'm kind of like, I really
- 37:41Speaker 4: love Connor.
- 37:42Speaker 1: I really. He wowed me. Wowed me. Right. I really
- 37:47Speaker 1: love Jenna Dewan. I like love her. So there's just so.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Because I love Val.
- 37:53Speaker 1: For me, it's a contest. And I love Val.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Who do I love more?
- 37:55Speaker 1: Mark or Val? And like, sometimes they just edge each
- 37:58Speaker 1: other out. I love them both so much. I think
- 38:00Speaker 1: you can vote 10 times. Maybe we do five for Mark.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Five for Val.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I think we're going to have to vote for like
- 38:04Speaker 2: multiple people.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I can't not vote for Val. I always voted for
- 38:08Speaker 1: multiple people. I want Val to win.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Are you going to tell that to Mark?
- 38:14Speaker 3: It's like a favorite child. I can't have a favorite here.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Can't have a favorite.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I know.
- 38:20Speaker 3: That's what I'm going to have to let America decide.
- 38:22Speaker 3: I just can't even get, I'm not even going to vote.
- 38:23Speaker 3: I can't get in on it too.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I know.
- 38:26Speaker 4: I mean, I'm really going to judge it based off
- 38:29Speaker 4: the dances this year. Like who is the best dancer
- 38:32Speaker 4: that week versus who's my fave? Because I have too
- 38:34Speaker 4: many faves this season.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Please tell me you saw the Instagram or TikTok of
- 38:39Speaker 3: the man who asked a lady to.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Oh, so cute. To what? This man, first of all,
- 38:47Speaker 1: he was a snazzy dresser.
- 38:49Speaker 3: This man was so cute in his outfit for his
- 38:52Speaker 3: first day at work at some, it looked like a
- 38:54Speaker 3: fancy job. And he says to like a passerby, can
- 38:57Speaker 3: you take a picture of me for my wife? It's
- 38:59Speaker 3: my first day at work. I, America must protect this
- 39:03Speaker 3: man at all costs. Like I was like, what? It
- 39:08Speaker 3: was so cute. And everyone does like a little thumbs up.
- 39:12Speaker 1: It's cute.
- 39:13Speaker 2: It was so cute.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Wait, okay.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Two things before we go. Two things before we go.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Um, I did enjoy this bit and we may not,
- 39:22Speaker 3: we may have to just bring this back. Like we
- 39:23Speaker 3: bring back. Who's your favorite teen idol? Pettiest hill you
- 39:26Speaker 3: will die on. What?
- 39:28Speaker 1: And I'll give you the example.
- 39:30Speaker 3: That they gave on Instagram so that you guys have
- 39:32Speaker 3: something to jump off of. Washing the dishes includes wiping
- 39:36Speaker 3: down the counters. 100% agree. Taking out the trash has
- 39:39Speaker 3: to include replacing the bag. I have a whole thing
- 39:42Speaker 3: on that. Leftover soup in a round container. Soup is round.
- 39:47Speaker 3: That one I do sometimes put.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Soup in square containers. I don't get that. No, no, no.
- 39:51Speaker 1: It goes in a round Tupperware. I put it in squares. What? No, no, no.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I literally ate wonton soup out of a square Tupperware today.
- 39:58Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 39:59Speaker 1: It goes in a circle Tupperware. You are a serial
- 40:01Speaker 1: killer if you put it in a square or rectangle dish.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I think I do circle.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Do not understand anyone that leaves a toilet paper roll like.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Under. Under. No, empty. Empty. Like you used it and
- 40:14Speaker 1: you're like leaving it there.
- 40:16Speaker 3: That's just.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Gross. I agree with that.
- 40:19Speaker 2: I'm like, you're gross.
- 40:20Speaker 4: The hill that I die on that like really, really
- 40:23Speaker 4: puts me over the edge is like, don't speak to
- 40:26Speaker 4: me on a plane.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Don't speak to me in an Uber. That like just
- 40:29Speaker 1: hard line. Don't speak to me. Don't speak to me. Aggressive.
- 40:34Speaker 2: What about going to Sleep with dishes in the sink.
- 40:37Speaker 2: That one's hard for me.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Oh, I cannot.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Challenging. I can't do that either.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Maybe on like a wild night or if the dishwasher's full,
- 40:44Speaker 3: I can force it.
- 40:45Speaker 2: But like, oh, that is a hard one. Hard one.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Who I would.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 40:54Speaker 3: When I see them, I'll let you know. Oh, Margo
- 40:58Speaker 3: says the middle seat does not get both armrests. That
- 41:00Speaker 3: seems very obvious to me. How would a middle seat...
- 41:03Speaker 3: Let's not be stealing armrests. I don't know if I
- 41:06Speaker 3: like armrests too. They give me kind of a neck ache.
- 41:08Speaker 3: They go too high.
- 41:09Speaker 1: The middle seat should get the armrest. But not both.
- 41:13Speaker 1: She's saying they don't get both. Okay, well then who
- 41:15Speaker 1: decides which one you get? I don't know. I don't know.
- 41:21Speaker 1: If I let you over in traffic.
- 41:23Speaker 2: You get the one to the right.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Oh, Jackie wants a wave. Yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 2: That's kind of an oldie.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I'm going to read the comments here.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Well, let's think on this as we live our lives
- 41:33Speaker 3: and see what we come back with.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Did you see the people at Cinemark?
- 41:37Speaker 3: Okay, so I recently went to a Cinemark theater. I
- 41:41Speaker 3: hadn't been to one a long time because it's really far.
- 41:42Speaker 3: But when I saw that dinosaur movie, it wasn't playing
- 41:44Speaker 3: in my town. And they have this thing called $ 5
- 41:47Speaker 3: and they'll fill up any bucket you bring. And people
- 41:51Speaker 3: were bringing laundry hampers.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I love it. And they're just filling them up with popcorn.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I love it.
- 41:59Speaker 3: The butter would be rough.
- 42:01Speaker 1: You won.
- 42:02Speaker 2: You won, but would you put butter in it?
- 42:05Speaker 1: No. No, laundry basket. There's holes.
- 42:08Speaker 2: I know, but who wants to eat the popcorn without
- 42:09Speaker 2: the butter?
- 42:11Speaker 1: Fair. I get the butter at the movie theater.
- 42:14Speaker 3: All right, before we go, can we just acknowledge, because
- 42:17Speaker 3: I do think I want to acknowledge that tomorrow is
- 42:20Speaker 3: 25 years since September 11.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I know.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Now, how old are you guys? Because I'm so much older. Danielle,
- 42:27Speaker 3: how old were you in 2001?
- 42:28Speaker 1: I'm 36 now, so I was 11, right? So what
- 42:30Speaker 1: is your experience?
- 42:31Speaker 5: So did people.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Did your parents kind of not want you to know.
- 42:37Speaker 1: What was happening?
- 42:39Speaker 4: This is my exact recollection of it. I remember getting
- 42:42Speaker 4: woken up, getting ready for school. My parents were glued
- 42:45Speaker 4: to the television. I remember walking over. I play this
- 42:49Speaker 4: as if I'm a third party looking down at me.
- 42:51Speaker 4: I can see it exactly. I'm like, Mom, Dad, what
- 42:55Speaker 4: are you guys watching? Oh, something happened in New York
- 42:57Speaker 4: and it's very scary.
- 42:58Speaker 1: These planes flew into a building whatever so i did
- 43:06Speaker 1: that but we went to school but.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I remember actually went but i.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Remember when we went to school it was unlike a
- 43:13Speaker 1: normal day where you're like get your pens and paper
- 43:15Speaker 1: out we were watching the news at school oh and
- 43:21Speaker 1: then we were sent home early and then i remember
- 43:23Speaker 1: that day being really weird and i vividly remember it
- 43:26Speaker 1: was time for dinner and i'm my mom told me
- 43:29Speaker 1: to come downstairs and my dad was sitting on the couch,
- 43:32Speaker 1: not moving, staring at the TV. And I just remember
- 43:37Speaker 1: being like, whoa, dad is stressed.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 3: I mean, I think that as a kid, it would
- 43:44Speaker 3: be so different than, you know, my experience with it.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Right.
- 43:48Speaker 3: I was like, if I'm born in 74, 84, 94,
- 43:50Speaker 3: I was like in my twenties, maybe 25, 26.
- 43:52Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 43:52Speaker 2: I can't do math.
- 43:58Speaker 3: And it was, you know, I was working for iHeart,
- 44:01Speaker 3: but I don't even know if we were called iHeart yet.
- 44:03Speaker 2: We might've been called Clear Channel.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Clear Channel, yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 3: And it was just like, gnarly.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Were you in news, Amy? Like, how did that? Yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 1: I mean, we had to cover it. So you had
- 44:13Speaker 1: to go. We had to cover it. We were at
- 44:15Speaker 1: like three in the morning because we were trying to
- 44:17Speaker 1: do things for the East Coast.
- 44:18Speaker 2: And it was just like, Oh my God.
- 44:21Speaker 6: I can't believe, like I've been in breaking news, like
- 44:24Speaker 6: newsrooms and it is completely insane.
- 44:26Speaker 3: But that was so confusing too. And we did have
- 44:32Speaker 3: more time because it happened in the morning and I
- 44:35Speaker 3: didn't go to work until like 10 o'clock that night.
- 44:38Speaker 2: It was like really weird. We're doing overnights.
- 44:41Speaker 4: You know, it's really interesting, Amy, like, and I don't
- 44:43Speaker 4: mean to sound insensitive because obviously like 9-11 impacted so
- 44:47Speaker 4: many people, but I feel like this year has hit
- 44:52Speaker 4: harder than in years past.
- 44:53Speaker 2: And I don't know why. I think it's because it's 25.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Yeah. And I've been watching like all the documentaries online.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I've been going down weird rabbit holes, watching videos, hearing voicemails,
- 45:04Speaker 1: hearing all that stuff. And it like, I, and this
- 45:08Speaker 1: is again, very insensitive of me, but it took this
- 45:11Speaker 1: year to be like, Holy wow. I don't think that's insensitive.
- 45:16Speaker 3: I think maybe you just have perspective now as like
- 45:18Speaker 3: a mom.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Or whatever it is.
- 45:22Speaker 6: We have it more in front of us now because
- 45:23Speaker 6: people are sharing stuff online. And so I think we
- 45:26Speaker 6: are just seeing more of it than we did obviously then.
- 45:28Speaker 3: And at 11, you didn't know people in New York
- 45:32Speaker 3: or in the building.
- 45:32Speaker 1: I mean, we knew people in the building. Right. Yeah.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I was 16 when it happened. Same
- 45:39Speaker 1: thing with us. We watched TV all day.
- 45:41Speaker 6: I had a volleyball game for my high school team
- 45:43Speaker 6: and it got canceled.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 1: And we just went home early.
- 45:46Speaker 6: And I remember having curlers in my hair because I
- 45:49Speaker 6: wore like big curlers in my hair then.
- 45:51Speaker 1: And I remember seeing it and being like, is that
- 45:53Speaker 1: a movie? That was my response. Is that a movie?
- 45:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:56Speaker 1: And I was like, no, no, this is happening. And
- 45:58Speaker 1: I'm like, what?
- 45:58Speaker 3: I can remember feeling like, I think I had to
- 46:01Speaker 3: walk to CVS for something and just feeling like, what
- 46:08Speaker 3: weird and like people it's like almost weren't talking but
- 46:12Speaker 3: you were it was like and I remember wanting to
- 46:14Speaker 3: get home to San Francisco so I think I worked
- 46:17Speaker 3: a couple days went home went back it was I went.
- 46:22Speaker 6: To the ground zero in 2004 or five and it
- 46:25Speaker 6: was very much like yeah and it was.
- 46:32Speaker 1: One of the heaviest things that I've ever experienced. Yeah.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Oh my, I will never forget that.
- 46:36Speaker 3: I think it should be, look, I don't know. People may,
- 46:38Speaker 3: I don't, I don't know what the take is on this,
- 46:40Speaker 3: but I think it should be a holiday. I just
- 46:42Speaker 3: think it should be a national holiday.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I agree with you.
- 46:43Speaker 6: Yeah, like a remembrance day. Like, yeah, it has a
- 46:46Speaker 6: remembrance day. We should have that for sure.
- 46:48Speaker 3: It's like, so I always think it's like so awkward.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Like when people have to have their wedding on it
- 46:54Speaker 1: and you're just like, oh no.
- 46:55Speaker 3: Like for me, it's very weird. And I'm sure that's
- 46:59Speaker 3: how people feel about Pearl Harbor. Like our parents or
- 47:03Speaker 3: my parents, because your parents are probably too young for that.
- 47:05Speaker 3: But like certain things like that. And then I think
- 47:09Speaker 3: about like the young people that are like, I lived
- 47:11Speaker 3: through COVID and whatever else they lived through.
- 47:15Speaker 1: It's like, oh.
- 47:17Speaker 2: My God, 9-11 was.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Even when I type it, it gives me like, oh,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I don't like it. I know. Yeah. You know, it
- 47:24Speaker 1: just brings up those weird memories.
- 47:26Speaker 3: And I think it's important to like watch the, there's
- 47:29Speaker 3: a lot of documentaries and a lot of sort of
- 47:31Speaker 3: things happening. And I think it's important to watch those
- 47:33Speaker 3: things so that you do remember who am I to speak,
- 47:36Speaker 3: but like, this is just my opinion, you know, so
- 47:38Speaker 3: that you remind yourself of what can happen and things
- 47:44Speaker 3: can happen like that.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Yeah. It's sad.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Well, not to, not to.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Be on a downer, but I just think it's important
- 47:52Speaker 3: to remember.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I do too.
- 47:53Speaker 3: I agree.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Thank you. Yeah.
- 47:56Speaker 6: That story that Ed Koch told, shares is is incredible
- 47:59Speaker 6: it's it's even watching it it brought me almost to
- 48:02Speaker 6: tears because he was almost brought to tears he was
- 48:05Speaker 6: bringing he was crying during the clip.
- 48:06Speaker 3: So there's like incredible stories too yeah yeah um well
- 48:14Speaker 3: sorry to end on that I think it's important.
- 48:17Speaker 1: So yeah I completely agree with you take.
- 48:19Speaker 3: A minute tomorrow and learn about it if you're young
- 48:24Speaker 3: think about it if you're old.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. All right, guys. All right, well, thank
- 48:34Speaker 1: you for listening today. Hope you'll listen again if you
- 48:38Speaker 1: want to. Bye, guys.
