- 0:02Almost everyone has the experience from time to time of
- 0:06acting out a different personality.
- 0:10We may say that someone got out of bed on the wrong side.
- 0:14This morning when we see a normally cheerful and upbeat
- 0:17individual responding in a totally uncharacteristic way.
- 0:23We chalk this up to some mood or temporary circumstance, stress
- 0:28sleeplessness. Worried or some physical
- 0:32condition, or imbalance, or even some mental focus that distracts
- 0:38we have times of intense, mental focus or emotionally-charged
- 0:42aspects to our lives or times of vital or physical challenges
- 0:47that impact the way we respond to life.
- 0:52If we observe closely, we can see that the changes we undergo
- 0:57are based on the variable effect of the Dominance and
- 1:01modifications, brought about by the three gunas, the qualities
- 1:05of nature impacting. The current aspect of the being
- 1:10that is in front. Whether mental, vital or
- 1:13physical, if we look, even more closely, we find that the mental
- 1:19being the emotional, being the vital being and the physical
- 1:24being are not unified, and that there are different aspects that
- 1:28come forward. Even Within These segments, then
- 1:32we have to examine the interaction of the different
- 1:35aspects. Such that there is a current
- 1:38predominant physical being combined with the current
- 1:41predominant vital or mental being the possible combinations.
- 1:46Here are virtually endless. The mother concludes that those
- 1:51who have developed a highly developed individuality
- 1:56represent an amalgam of innumerable person.
- 2:00Mallet. He's and by no means are they
- 2:03all unified thus leading to Inner conflict or at least
- 2:09modification of the pure action of any one aspect of the being
- 2:14the process of observing understanding and unifying the
- 2:19being around a central focus. And goal is for such
- 2:22individuals, a difficult and lengthy one.
- 2:27Those who have a less complex in her life are able to deal with
- 2:31their lives in a much simpler and easier manner.
- 2:36SRI aurobindo writes, quote. It is part of the foundation of
- 2:41yoga to become conscious of the great complexity of our nature,
- 2:45see the different forces, that move it, and get over it.
- 2:49A control of directing knowledge.
- 2:53A disciple inquires, quote, are these forces different for each
- 2:57person? The mother responds.
- 3:02Quote, yes, the composition is completely different.
- 3:07Otherwise everybody would be the same.
- 3:10There are not two beings with an identical combination between
- 3:15the different parts of the being and the composition of these
- 3:18parts. The proportion is different.
- 3:20In each individual, there are people primitive men.
- 3:25People like the yet undeveloped races or the degenerated ones
- 3:30whose combinations are. Fairly simple.
- 3:33They are still complicated. But comparatively simple.
- 3:38And there are people absolutely at the top of the human ladder
- 3:41that Elite of humanity, their combinations become.
- 3:47So complicated that a very special discernment is needed to
- 3:51find the relations between all these things.
- 3:56There are beings, who carry in themselves, thousands of
- 3:59different personalities. And then each one has its own
- 4:02Rhythm and alternation and there is a kind of combination
- 4:07sometimes their inner conflicts and there is a play of
- 4:11activities which are rhythmic and with alternations of certain
- 4:16parts which come to the front and then go back and again come
- 4:20to the front but when one takes all that it makes such
- 4:24complicated Combinations. That some people Truly find, it
- 4:28difficult to understand what is going on in themselves and yet
- 4:34these are the ones most capable of a complete coordinated
- 4:39conscious organized action. But their organization is
- 4:44infinitely more complicated than that of primitive or undeveloped
- 4:48men who have two or three, impulses and four or five ideas
- 4:54and who can arrange all this. Easily in themselves and seem to
- 4:58be very coordinated and logical because there is not very much
- 5:03too organized. But there are people truly like
- 5:07a multitude and so that gives them a plasticity, a fluidity of
- 5:12action and an extraordinary complexity of perception.
- 5:17And these people are capable of understanding a considerable
- 5:21number of things as though they had at their disposal a
- 5:25veritable Army, which they move according to circumstance and
- 5:29need and all this is inside them.
- 5:33So when these people with the help of yoga, the discipline of
- 5:37yoga succeed in centralizing, all these beings around the
- 5:42central light of the divine presence, they become powerful
- 5:46entities precisely because of their complexity.
- 5:50So long as this is not organized, they often give the
- 5:55impression of an incoherent. They are almost incomprehensible
- 5:59one can't manage to understand. They are like that, they are so
- 6:04complex. But when they have organized,
- 6:08all these beings that is put each one in its place around the
- 6:13Divine Center, then truly, they are terrific for.
- 6:17They have the capacity of understanding almost everything
- 6:21and doing almost everything because of the multitude of
- 6:26entities, they contain of, which they are constituted.
- 6:30And the nearer one is to the Emmett of the ladder, the more
- 6:35is it like that? And consequently the more
- 6:38difficult is it to organize ones being because when you have
- 6:43about a dozen elements, you can quickly compass and organize
- 6:47them. But when you have thousands of
- 6:50them, it is difficult and quote, reference SRI aurobindo in the
