- 0:55Speaker 2: not for you, Nope, no cool. And Clay was just
- 0:59Speaker 2: telling before the mic turned on he's really good at
- 1:02Speaker 2: drawing two things because he always does a little doodle
- 1:05Speaker 2: on his whiteboards. What were those two things?
- 1:06Speaker 3: White tailed deer and muscled up dudes. It's my main,
- 1:10Speaker 3: main thing.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And then so he pointed out that there's a drawing
- 1:14Speaker 2: that Clay made in the studio here. What what is
- 1:17Speaker 2: that thing?
- 1:18Speaker 3: Well, I don't really know. It's a it's a it's
- 1:21Speaker 3: a picture of a guy with a machine gun shooting
- 1:24Speaker 3: a hog.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Tyler this camera here, yes. See.
- 1:28Speaker 3: So the reason this is in the Medater studio is
- 1:31Speaker 3: I was in Alaska with Steve and I don't even
- 1:35Speaker 3: know how, but I ended up showing him that picture
- 1:38Speaker 3: on my phone, which I had found. I found that
- 1:40Speaker 3: picture at my mom's house and I was like, oh, yeah,
- 1:43Speaker 3: I drew that in nineteen ninety seven. Actually I was
- 1:45Speaker 3: a junior in high school and uh. And Steve was like,
- 1:48Speaker 3: I want that framed and in the Meat Eater office.
- 1:51Speaker 4: So I did.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It looks very good. That's a that's a real muscled
- 1:54Speaker 2: up guy called and the boar be cool. Welcome out
- 2:00Speaker 2: of town folks to meet Eater Trivia for the stat
- 2:03Speaker 2: of the Week. This week, we're looking at the head
- 2:06Speaker 2: to head stats of the Element boys, Tyler and Casey.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Do you guys have any.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Idea about who does better in Meat Eater Trivia?
- 2:13Speaker 5: Tyler has won a couple of times, so yeah, him, Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 2: He won an episode in what became known as the Communist.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Episode, very controversial.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we did it one time. In the tiebreak. We said,
- 2:26Speaker 2: if you can get the tiebreaker right on the nose
- 2:29Speaker 2: and you're not part of the tie breaker, we'll give
- 2:31Speaker 2: you the victory. And that's exactly what happened. You lost.
- 2:35Speaker 1: That triggering spencer was in there too, so.
- 2:41Speaker 3: We had.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So you know what about in trivia that's not meat
- 2:48Speaker 2: eater trivia. If you guys were like on a hunt
- 2:51Speaker 2: in Oklahoma and laying in your hotel room watching Jeopardy,
- 2:55Speaker 2: who would win this?
- 2:56Speaker 1: So realistic? Oh for sure? Yeah?
- 3:00Speaker 5: Maybe?
- 3:00Speaker 6: Okay, he's that he knows a lot about a lot.
- 3:02Speaker 1: All right, well here a little about a lot.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Here's what we got for me Eater trivia. Tyler averages
- 3:07Speaker 2: six correct answers per game, while Casey averages five correct
- 3:12Speaker 2: answers per game. Tyler's strongest category is conservational, where he
- 3:17Speaker 2: gets sixty six percent of questions correct. Casey's strongest category
- 3:22Speaker 2: is also conservation, where he gets sixty percent of questions correct.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Tyler The weakest category is cooking, where he gets twenty
- 3:30Speaker 2: five percent of questions correct, and Casey's weakest category is
- 3:34Speaker 2: also cooking, where he also gets twenty five percent of questions.
- 3:40Speaker 1: That's weird. Yeah, that's weird.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Remember and weakness.
- 3:44Speaker 6: There's a lobster roll question one time. I had no
- 3:46Speaker 6: clue about that one.
- 3:47Speaker 5: That one maybe many.
- 3:48Speaker 7: I'm glad you brought that up, So you boys do
- 3:51Speaker 7: is lobster on there? Tyler?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Just you know?
- 3:53Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 3:55Speaker 6: How proud of you of me? Are you right now?
- 3:58Speaker 6: Conservation Dad? Come on now, I should write your book
- 4:01Speaker 6: for you.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Do it now. Here's our Infrequently Asked Questions segment. If
- 4:08Speaker 2: you have a trivia related question for our crew, send
- 4:10Speaker 2: it to Trivia at the meadeater dot com with the
- 4:13Speaker 2: subject line I f a Q. Amelia Warren wants to know.
- 4:17Speaker 2: It seems like there are less Southern questions than anywhere else.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Is the South the hardest for you to write questions for?
- 4:23Speaker 2: What's the easiest, Clay, Brent? Do you think the South
- 4:27Speaker 2: is hard to write trivia questions about?
- 4:29Speaker 8: No?
- 4:29Speaker 3: I think you just overlook us.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, every time I would say that the South.
- 4:36Speaker 9: Every time I'm up here, there is no question below
- 4:39Speaker 9: the Mason Dixon. I'm at work driving around.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's Arkansas.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Y'all live below the Mason Dixon.
- 4:47Speaker 9: Yeah, but.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And I can get them.
- 4:54Speaker 9: I get up here and I'm like two. I thought
- 4:55Speaker 9: you was gonna read my average just two.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I know what it is. Well, i'll tell you this
- 5:00Speaker 2: the next episode we're recording, Brent, I have the stats
- 5:03Speaker 2: for the Bear Grease Boys, so we'll get a good detail.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Fishing and cooking is my downfall.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So to answer Amelia's question, though the South is not
- 5:15Speaker 2: as hard as the Northeast, the Northeast is the hardest.
- 5:18Speaker 2: It's just a small regions. It feels like a lot
- 5:21Speaker 2: of it is very monotonous. It's just a lot of timber,
- 5:24Speaker 2: same critters. I would say the West is easiest. It
- 5:26Speaker 2: has all most of the relevant public lands. It's where
- 5:29Speaker 2: I happen to live. It's a giant region. I wouldn't
- 5:32Speaker 2: say the South is the hardest, though. We'll try to
- 5:34Speaker 2: try to get more Southern representation, though we're just not
- 5:38Speaker 2: Brenton Clay and Amelia now we have some housekeeping to
- 5:42Speaker 2: get to. In a previous game of trivia, we had
- 5:44Speaker 2: an overtime question about how many states and the rivers
- 5:48Speaker 2: share the same name. The correct answer was sixteen, but
- 5:52Speaker 2: when I read them off, Brody noticed that one was missing,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and he was right. I hadn't accounted for the Florida
- 5:57Speaker 2: River in Colorado, raising that number to seventeen. Now, a
- 6:01Speaker 2: few listeners wrote in saying, since there are two Colorado
- 6:04Speaker 2: rivers that it should actually be eighteen, but we're not
- 6:07Speaker 2: going to count that. If we did, then we'd have
- 6:09Speaker 2: to start including some of the other duplicates like the
- 6:12Speaker 2: Little Missouri, the Little Mississippi, and the Little Colorado. So
- 6:15Speaker 2: we'll keep that number at seventeen. And since both of
- 6:18Speaker 2: the answers in that overtime around were lower than the
- 6:21Speaker 2: correct answer, it doesn't change the outcome of the game.
- 6:25Speaker 2: The Shelby index for today is our three, so our
- 6:27Speaker 2: winner should get six correct answers. And with that we're
- 6:31Speaker 2: onto the game of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look,
- 6:36Speaker 2: I need to know what I stand to win.
- 6:39Speaker 9: Everything, Tyler, you gonna chain.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Gamon suckers.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Question one. The topic is hunting. This will be multiple choice,
- 6:56Speaker 2: and this first great question is via huge dent. What
- 7:00Speaker 2: is the name for a female mountain lion? Is it flyer, clouder,
- 7:07Speaker 2: jill or queen? What is the name for a female
- 7:13Speaker 2: mountain lion. Your four choices Flyer, Clouder, Jill, Queen. No
- 7:22Speaker 2: one in the room appears to be very confident. Wow,
- 7:27Speaker 2: not even Clay, Nukem or pant.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Don't ever ever heard the differentiation?
- 7:34Speaker 2: Okay, if if you had to call a mountain lion,
- 7:38Speaker 2: who is a female name? You don't even have a
- 7:40Speaker 2: different name. You just don't have a name for it
- 7:42Speaker 2: at all. Is that what you're saying?
- 7:44Speaker 3: I mean, I would just say it's a famous mountain lion.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Okay. Which of these is the name for a female
- 7:50Speaker 2: mountain lion Flyer, Clouder, Jill or Queen. Is everybody ready,
- 7:56Speaker 2: go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying Jill,
- 8:01Speaker 2: Jordan says Queen, Casey Marked, Jill Tyler, Jill, Tony, Jill,
- 8:10Speaker 2: Brent Jill, Clay, Jill, Jordan, Jill Mark, Jill. The correct
- 8:19Speaker 2: answer is not Jill, it's Queen.
- 8:26Speaker 5: That you thought I had that somewhere. Really, I thought
- 8:33Speaker 5: I had that somewhere in the back of my brain.
- 8:35Speaker 5: And Jill seemed like a.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Trick because Tom and.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Jill, if you didn't know, Jordan is a doctor just
- 8:47Speaker 2: like Randall. So Clay was identifying Tony or Tyler is
- 8:52Speaker 2: the competition today, but it might actually be Jordan Stillers over.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Here someone else st insecure.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Now.
- 9:00Speaker 2: A flyer is a female kangaroo, a jill is a
- 9:04Speaker 2: female ferret, possum, or rabbit. A clouder is a group
- 9:08Speaker 2: of cats, and a queen is a female mountain lion,
- 9:11Speaker 2: as well as a female dragonfly, hornet, aunt, or b
- 9:16Speaker 2: Question two, the topic is fishing. This next great question
- 9:19Speaker 2: is via Ryan Lily. This kayak maker is named after
- 9:24Speaker 2: the city in Maine where they're built. This kayak maker
- 9:32Speaker 2: is named after the city in Maine where they're built.
- 9:37Speaker 2: If Casey Tyler Clay coming up with an answer, you
- 9:40Speaker 2: know this one, Klay Nukem.
- 9:42Speaker 3: No, he doesn't specifically kayak.
- 9:47Speaker 2: This kayak maker is named after the city in Maine
- 9:51Speaker 2: where they're built. Element boys, you guys got this one right.
- 9:56Speaker 5: I got an answer answer.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Question two. We are not off to a hot start
- 10:03Speaker 2: so far, at.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Least, Jordan, did you say the state? I don't know
- 10:08Speaker 5: what this is.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It's in Maine. This kayak maker is named after the
- 10:13Speaker 2: city in Maine where they're built. How do you feel
- 10:18Speaker 2: about your answer?
- 10:19Speaker 7: Marcus, I've got a kayak company, but I don't know
- 10:23Speaker 7: that's places in Maine or not.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Do you own a kayak?
- 10:28Speaker 5: No?
- 10:30Speaker 2: No, never, No, Michigan's a kind of place where you
- 10:34Speaker 2: auto own a kayak.
- 10:35Speaker 7: I think we had a canoe, but not a kayak.
- 10:38Speaker 7: We've looked at kayaks recently. My boys want like a
- 10:41Speaker 7: little kid kayak. I don't know if this manufacturer has
- 10:45Speaker 7: a kid kayak. I've obviously not done enough shopping.
- 10:49Speaker 2: This kayak maker is named after the city in Maine
- 10:53Speaker 2: where they're built. It is everybody ready, go ahead and
- 10:58Speaker 2: reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying Devonport Jordan without
- 11:05Speaker 2: an answer, Casey says Hoby, Tyler says old Town, Tony
- 11:11Speaker 2: says Hoby. Brent says Banger Clay, old Town Jordan Budd
- 11:18Speaker 2: without an answer. Marcus says Jackson. We have a correct
- 11:22Speaker 2: answer in the room. It's Old towns. We had Tyler Clay.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Old Town, but their canoe maker.
- 11:37Speaker 6: That's what I thought too.
- 11:38Speaker 5: I didn't think they're associated.
- 11:40Speaker 2: The company was born in.
- 11:45Speaker 3: His question was outrageous.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Just because they make canoes doesn't mean that they're not.
- 11:51Speaker 3: A could have said That's why I said, did they make.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I was trying to say, like, did they make anything
- 11:57Speaker 3: other than K.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I wasn't going to give you any hints, Clay.
- 12:00Speaker 7: I do feel like you misled us because you made
- 12:02Speaker 7: as seem like that was the like it defined that company.
- 12:05Speaker 4: This is a kayak company, Marcus.
- 12:06Speaker 2: This is trivia. So I'm not trying to tell you
- 12:09Speaker 2: more like what the correct answer is there we go, Clay, Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 2: it's a trivia based show. The company was born in
- 12:17Speaker 2: eighteen ninety eight, when their first canoe was built behind
- 12:20Speaker 2: a hardware store in Old Town, Maine. The brand remained
- 12:24Speaker 2: a family business until they were sold to sc Johnson
- 12:27Speaker 2: in nineteen seventy four and then to Johnson Outdoors in
- 12:30Speaker 2: two thousand and four. They claim to be the world's
- 12:32Speaker 2: oldest and the largest kayak and canoe distributor.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Hey, can I ask Jordan something real quick? There's a
- 12:39Speaker 3: canoe at your camp that's called the Washitall Canoe. You
- 12:45Speaker 3: do you know what I'm talking about. That's like an
- 12:48Speaker 3: old brand. Washita is the name of the mountains where
- 12:51Speaker 3: I'm from. Anyway, this is the first time I ever
- 12:54Speaker 3: saw when we white old canoe called wash spell that Yeah,
- 13:02Speaker 3: oh yeah, oh U A c ch I.
- 13:04Speaker 2: T what do you use with that canoe at your place?
- 13:06Speaker 4: Jordan?
- 13:07Speaker 8: Well, not much really. But this year we shot a
- 13:12Speaker 8: deer down the river and instead of dragging it out
- 13:14Speaker 8: because it was really steep, I went back and I
- 13:17Speaker 8: canoed to it, put the deer in it, the canoe down,
- 13:20Speaker 8: and the river's so shallow. It was took three times.
- 13:23Speaker 2: As long oh taking it out.
- 13:25Speaker 8: Okay, but it was fun. It made for fun pictures.
- 13:28Speaker 2: The thing Clayton cool canoe.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It was a cool color.
- 13:31Speaker 4: It's like that old blue.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Yeah. Is it fiberglass?
- 13:35Speaker 3: I think it's it's aluminum.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Question three, The topic is gear. A twenty twenty two
- 13:42Speaker 2: hooking barrel article referred to this billionaire as the Walt
- 13:47Speaker 2: Disney of the outdoors. The topic is gear. A twenty
- 13:55Speaker 2: twenty two hooking barrel article referred to this billionaire as
- 13:59Speaker 2: the Walt Disney of the outdoors. Clay Newcome the only
- 14:05Speaker 2: one to come up with an answer, So tell me
- 14:10Speaker 2: his name. Marcus now joining with an answer, and Brent,
- 14:14Speaker 2: he's also showing it right to the camera that looks
- 14:17Speaker 2: at me.
- 14:18Speaker 1: There you go.
- 14:21Speaker 5: If I average five right answers a game, better start.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Getting I gonna start. A twenty twenty two Hook and
- 14:28Speaker 2: Baryl article refer to this billionaire as the Walt Disney
- 14:33Speaker 2: of the outdoors.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Miley questions, I'm not sure if the guy that I
- 14:36Speaker 3: wrote down is a billionaire with a beam.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah right, Okay, you're thinking he's worth a little less.
- 14:43Speaker 7: Well, but what other billionaire is so defined by the
- 14:47Speaker 7: outdoors that you would and.
- 14:49Speaker 5: In what context are we saying Walt Disney?
- 14:52Speaker 8: Like?
- 14:52Speaker 4: Right, yeah, I thought the same thing.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Well, it was a Hook and Barrel article and they
- 14:56Speaker 2: referred to him as the Walt Disney of the outdoors. Mmmm,
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm the best answer is everybody ready?
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:07Speaker 2: Tony Peterson, you ready, I'm writing yep, go ahead and

- 15:28Speaker 2: says the Patagonia guy. Clay says Johnny Morris, Jordan says
- 15:33Speaker 2: Johnny Morris, Mark says Johnny Morris. The correct answer is
- 15:39Speaker 2: Johnny Morris. The room bon let me tell you Johnny
- 15:45Speaker 2: Morris is the founder of bass Pro shops and worth
- 15:49Speaker 2: ten billion dollars ten billion. The nickname was inspired by
- 15:54Speaker 2: his Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, which has
- 15:58Speaker 2: been referred to as is the Disney World of the outdoors.
- 16:02Speaker 2: The Springfield, Missouri attraction has thirty five thousand live animals,
- 16:06Speaker 2: one point five million gallons of water, and eight acres
- 16:10Speaker 2: of exhibits. Cool.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Why did I not?
- 16:13Speaker 9: We've been there. I took my little girl there to
- 16:16Speaker 9: the Oh it's awesome.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Did you spend your time there walking around looking at
- 16:20Speaker 2: all that stuff? Uh?
- 16:21Speaker 4: It was good.
- 16:22Speaker 2: They got they got like some of the biggest bucks
- 16:24Speaker 2: in the world there, right. I think some of them
- 16:26Speaker 2: replicas some of the real.
- 16:28Speaker 9: Permanent display there. And I think they just bought Max
- 16:30Speaker 9: Prairie Wings went into a partnership.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I went there my first vacation. I was two years old.
- 16:37Speaker 5: I got a picture with me with a grizzly bear.
- 16:39Speaker 3: You know that big man Max Prairie Wings.
- 16:41Speaker 5: No, No, they don't have that man.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Well, you didn't go to Waters Wonder's the Wildlife when
- 16:44Speaker 3: you were two?
- 16:45Speaker 5: I didn't that went to the thing in Springfield, Missouri.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Well, I to bass Pro.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but it's all been converted into that, right.

- 16:58Speaker 1: Would have been there.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I went to That's probably why we went. Yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 5: because is the Lake Fork Association.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it really is. It should be a destination for
- 17:06Speaker 3: everybody that loves conservation. I mean it's it's like a
- 17:10Speaker 3: testament to.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Our way alife.
- 17:12Speaker 1: It really is.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Johnny Morrison worth ten billion dollars and the founder of
- 17:17Speaker 2: Beast pro Shops. Question for the topic is woodsmanship. This
- 17:20Speaker 2: next great question is via Joe Furiesith. Par Helian is
- 17:25Speaker 2: the scientific name for this six letter phenomenon that appears
- 17:30Speaker 2: at sunrise and sunset on cold days. Par Helian is
- 17:38Speaker 2: the scientific name for this six letter phenomenon that appears
- 17:43Speaker 2: at sunrise and sunset on cold days. The room looks stumped.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Do you have an answer?
- 17:53Speaker 7: Mark? Okay, it's six letters, okay, and it's in my
- 17:59Speaker 7: mind feels like it's associated with the topics.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Okay. Parhelian is the scientific name for this six letter
- 18:06Speaker 2: phenomenon that appears at sunrise and sunset on cold days.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Tony Peterson, do you have an answer.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I'm in the exact same boat as Mark. I'm not
- 18:16Speaker 1: a smirky and in my head I was like, I
- 18:23Speaker 1: think that's it, but I have no idea.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Really, Okay, Mark and Tony little confident they're the only ones.
- 18:29Speaker 2: It looks like.
- 18:31Speaker 8: I know.
- 18:33Speaker 2: It's the scientific name for this six letter phenomenon that
- 18:37Speaker 2: appears at sunrise and sunset on cold days.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Man, I know the thing. I think this is right.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I don't, don't I think we have it. I'm getting
- 18:45Speaker 1: I'm losing my confidence by the second.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Here is it because Casey thought he knew it?
- 18:50Speaker 4: Is that what?
- 18:51Speaker 1: No, it's just because it seems like a dumb answer now,
- 18:54Speaker 1: But I'm gonna stick with it.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Is everybody ready? Brent is doing some writing? Hold on, Tyler,
- 19:00Speaker 2: back to the whiteboard.
- 19:01Speaker 7: You know that just that awful feeling when you know
- 19:04Speaker 7: you know the answer but just won't come that feeling
- 19:06Speaker 7: when Mark talks. So the opposite of that is when
- 19:11Speaker 7: you don't know how you know, but you just have
- 19:13Speaker 7: a feeling like I just.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Think this is it? Like that's the feeling right now, Steve,
- 19:18Speaker 4: in a burst of inspiration.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Steve has explained that as his humunculous, a little figure
- 19:22Speaker 2: in his brain running around.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Sometimes I think Mark got it right, and I think
- 19:28Speaker 3: I should get a half point because of my allegiance
- 19:32Speaker 3: to him.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I do appreciate Mark one of the most well.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Read people you'll ever meet.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Wow, it's true.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Okay, God reads like crazy.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Here's the question.
- 19:40Speaker 6: You're saying, he's not smart.
- 19:41Speaker 1: He just reads a lot.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Or what I know, I'm saying smart.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Par Helian is the scientific name for this six letter
- 19:49Speaker 2: phenomenon that appears at sunrise and sunset on cold days.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Is everybody ready stop?
- 19:56Speaker 1: I don't know what it is.
- 19:58Speaker 2: He is now laughing at Tyler's answer. Go ahead and
- 20:02Speaker 2: reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying SunDog Jordan without
- 20:07Speaker 2: an answer. Casey sparks Tyler Frost, Tony SunDog, Brent Alpine, clay,
- 20:18Speaker 2: elp and glow. Which was an answer one other time
- 20:21Speaker 2: when you and Brent were here and you said it
- 20:23Speaker 2: was prejudiced towards Southern people.
- 20:26Speaker 5: I go with you.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you right now the answer is
- 20:31Speaker 2: not Jordan. Bud says Mirage. Marcus says Corona. We have
- 20:38Speaker 2: a correct answer in the room. It's SunDog. Maggie got
- 20:47Speaker 2: that one right. Sun Dogs are also referred to as
- 20:50Speaker 2: Mock's sons or phantom sons. They are caused by light
- 20:54Speaker 2: refracting through ice crystals in the atmosphere and show up
- 20:58Speaker 2: as a halo around the on. The Greek believed sun
- 21:01Speaker 2: dogs are a sign of good luck because the bright
- 21:04Speaker 2: lights are Zeus's dogs being walked through the sky.
- 21:08Speaker 10: Mark you know that feeling you were talking about. I
- 21:10Speaker 10: had that feeling, but I wasn't gonna say a word. Now.
- 21:14Speaker 2: You Southerners are really at a disadvantage there, because I
- 21:17Speaker 2: doubt you've ever seen a sun dog in Arkansas or text.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Greeks call them. We call them frosts.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Where I'm from, we believe in walker dogs. Question one word,
- 21:30Speaker 2: sounderstand one word. Question five. The topic is cooking. How
- 21:38Speaker 2: many gizzards do male pheasants have? How many gizzards do
- 21:46Speaker 2: you know?
- 21:47Speaker 11: I absolutely should have killed seven thousand roosters in my life.
- 21:52Speaker 11: You never went and digging in and no counted until
- 21:55Speaker 11: he asked that question. If you just asked me that,
- 21:57Speaker 11: I'd be like, I absolutely know how it's not not
- 22:01Speaker 11: very hard to guess.
- 22:02Speaker 2: No, I have no idea how many gizzards do male
- 22:06Speaker 2: pheasants have mm.
- 22:08Speaker 6: Hm, assuming it's more than females or less differently at
- 22:12Speaker 6: least not.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Gonna give you any hints. Could be the question is
- 22:17Speaker 2: how many gizzards?
- 22:20Speaker 3: If we all just collaborated together.
- 22:24Speaker 5: It's really up to because Mark is the only person
- 22:27Speaker 5: that can block him from the door.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I mean, I mean one of you has to win
- 22:31Speaker 2: at the end of the game, and however we get there, don't.
- 22:33Speaker 7: We could all just choose not to answer, and then
- 22:36Speaker 7: it would not negatively impact any of us.
- 22:40Speaker 2: One person answers, it's gonna be what do they call that?
- 22:43Speaker 2: A scab?
- 22:44Speaker 5: Never this never, never had.
- 22:48Speaker 3: None of us answer, no answers.
- 22:50Speaker 7: Let's let's just do it to piss off Steve, because
- 22:53Speaker 7: you know, if he finds out about this.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I think Tony is already h he's already anti union.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I did write down an answer, but I really don't
- 23:02Speaker 1: care how this one breaks.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Okay, Maggie, I think you should go against him over here.
- 23:07Speaker 2: You come up with an answer and forget it.
- 23:11Speaker 5: Hey, I need to know.
- 23:12Speaker 10: I wrote down number and wrote down another number, so
- 23:16Speaker 10: I'm not feeling confident.
- 23:18Speaker 4: So are other people putting down numbers. You're not standing
- 23:20Speaker 4: with us.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Play the game.
- 23:22Speaker 4: It's you're a rule follower.
- 23:24Speaker 6: You're not going to organize some kind of rebellion here.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Not having answer, Let's not pretend you're this guy. Dude,
- 23:33Speaker 1: let's go. I was with you, Mark Man, it was
- 23:36Speaker 1: all squall. It's a good idea.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Now, Tony and Maggie got that last one right. And
- 23:42Speaker 2: I'm sure they see some good sundgs in Minnesota and Wyoming.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That's a prime sun dog territory.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'd say, yeah, Maggie and I should be on the
- 23:50Speaker 1: same page. She's like my spirit animal.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Wait, so how did the Grecians see sundogs? That's not
- 23:56Speaker 5: a cold area.
- 23:58Speaker 2: That's a good point. I don't know. Sometimes it must
- 24:00Speaker 2: have gotten just cold enough for them to do they
- 24:08Speaker 2: Does everybody except for Mark have an answer for pheasants have?
- 24:15Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying three,
- 24:19Speaker 2: Jordan says two, Casey zero, Tyler three, Tony two, Brent one,
- 24:30Speaker 2: Clay two, Jordan two, Mark two. The correct answer is.
- 24:39Speaker 4: One only.
- 24:44Speaker 5: The question about nothing answer.
- 24:47Speaker 2: That was a trick question because all birds have one gizzard,
- 24:51Speaker 2: which helps them break down food. Although they're rare, and
- 24:54Speaker 2: the rest of the animal kingdom there are a few
- 24:57Speaker 2: fish and reptiles that have gizzards. Paleontologists believe that some
- 25:01Speaker 2: dinosaurs had them as well. For a great tutorial on
- 25:05Speaker 2: cooking gizzards, check out Wade Trunk's fried gizzard's recipe on
- 25:09Speaker 2: the Meat eater dot com. So it's not just male
- 25:11Speaker 2: pheasants that have one, all birds a spencer.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Can we take a point away from whoever put zero on.
- 25:21Speaker 5: Any is that saying?
- 25:25Speaker 2: Answering?
- 25:26Speaker 5: Well, you know, of course all birds have one, so
- 25:29Speaker 5: why not just put zero? So we're asking the question
- 25:32Speaker 5: Mark didn't even want to put an answer.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Okay, most of you took mars Mark's advice there and
- 25:39Speaker 2: just put down the wrong answer instead. Phil, we're halfway
- 25:43Speaker 2: through the game of trivia, give us a scoreboard off
- 25:46Speaker 2: to Oh.
- 25:46Speaker 12: My goodness, is one of the weakest games with trivia
- 25:50Speaker 12: we had in five episode history of the show. This
- 25:54Speaker 12: is everybody has one point except for Clay Newcombe who
- 25:58Speaker 12: has two.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Man anybody's game what was it?
- 26:05Speaker 1: Was a three?
- 26:06Speaker 2: So this is this was set out to be a
- 26:08Speaker 2: low scoring game. But I am exceptionally nervous.
- 26:11Speaker 3: With this game as well, she could be winning.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Question six. The topic is hunting. Which state that begins
- 26:22Speaker 2: with an N has the fewest white tail deer? So,
- 26:29Speaker 2: of these states that begin with an end, which one
- 26:33Speaker 2: has the fewest white tail deer? See a lot of
- 26:40Speaker 2: list making happening right now, at least with some folks. Oh, Clay,
- 26:46Speaker 2: quick to come up with an answer. Clay, you have
- 26:48Speaker 2: this one right. What if you think of another state
- 26:52Speaker 2: that starts with an end?
- 26:54Speaker 5: Oh?
- 26:54Speaker 3: Okay, it's an intimidation factor, distraction. See I've been called
- 27:00Speaker 3: hold on now I'm distracting you.
- 27:01Speaker 5: You already have an answer.
- 27:02Speaker 2: A Clay leading this game with two correct dames, dominating the.
- 27:09Speaker 5: Game, double the points of anyone else.
- 27:12Speaker 2: When that happens, though, you know what it's It's not you,
- 27:14Speaker 2: it's me. I've made the questions too hard.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Well, there's more light whenever we get them wrong. That
- 27:19Speaker 5: means we learn more, or it passes through.
- 27:25Speaker 3: I'm looking at that mountain, goat over there?
- 27:30Speaker 5: Where you gonna mountain?
- 27:31Speaker 4: What's that one's I've never seen them live flat like that.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I don't know where I shoot that one. It's like
- 27:36Speaker 2: you're both issue, Clay, You're headed on a mountain goat home,
- 27:40Speaker 2: like right after you leave town.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah, boat hunt for mountain goats in Alaska?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Dang? Yeah, how many days you got set aside?
- 27:47Speaker 3: Eight days? Eight hunt days?
- 27:50Speaker 2: What if? What if after eight days you don't have one?
- 27:52Speaker 2: You stick?
- 27:52Speaker 3: Well, you better get this rot, you know, I don't know,
- 27:56Speaker 3: it just matters. If you're we'll probably just have to
- 28:00Speaker 3: come home.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Mm hmm.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I'm just thinking.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Mid state that begins with an AD has the fewest
- 28:11Speaker 2: white tail deer.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Do all you whitetail guys just feel a lot of
- 28:15Speaker 3: pressure right now.
- 28:16Speaker 5: It'll be really.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Embarrassing to listen.
- 28:19Speaker 5: If I got this wrong, I'm gonna.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Argue that I might too.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Is everybody ready?
- 28:26Speaker 5: I've done the research on this.
- 28:28Speaker 2: You can go your last clay. If you need to
- 28:31Speaker 2: change your answer, Aska, you go for it. Washington, Marcus,
- 28:37Speaker 2: you ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 28:42Speaker 2: Maggie saying Nevada, Jordan Sillers, New Hampshire, KC. Says Nevada, Tyler,
- 28:50Speaker 2: New Mexico, Tony, Nevada, Brent Nevada, Clay Nevada, Jordan, Nebraska, Mark,
- 29:01Speaker 2: New Hampshire. The correct answer is Nevada. About half of
- 29:06Speaker 2: you got that one right. The eight states that begin
- 29:12Speaker 2: with an N are Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey,
- 29:16Speaker 2: New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and North Dakota. The
- 29:21Speaker 2: bottom two from that list are New Mexico and Nevada.
- 29:24Speaker 2: New Mexico has fifteen thousand coups whitetail deer and Texas
- 29:29Speaker 2: whitetail deer, while Nevada has zero, so they don't have coups.
- 29:33Speaker 3: We were countings.
- 29:36Speaker 2: But even if you don't count the coups, New Mexico
- 29:38Speaker 2: has a small population of Texas whitetail deer.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Questions, what did you put.
- 29:45Speaker 9: For that again?
- 29:46Speaker 5: Hampshire?
- 29:46Speaker 7: Okay, I think there might be, he said, of which
- 29:51Speaker 7: of these states as white tail deer the least way?
- 29:53Speaker 2: I heard the questions right behind you there? Which state
- 29:56Speaker 2: that begins with an N has the fewest white tailed deer?
- 30:00Speaker 7: So my mistake was I thought what white tail states?
- 30:03Speaker 4: The states to have white tailed deer?
- 30:04Speaker 1: Which classical.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Take? I take my lumps.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Question seven, the topic is wildlife. This bird goes by
- 30:18Speaker 2: nicknames such as sea parrot or clown of the sea.
- 30:23Speaker 2: H a lot of ocean front in Arkansas, This bird
- 30:29Speaker 2: goes by nicknames such as sea parrot or clown of
- 30:33Speaker 2: the sea. The room looks stumped again, except for Jordan sillers, Jordan,
- 30:40Speaker 2: do you have this one right?
- 30:41Speaker 4: I think I have a good guess. It just came
- 30:43Speaker 4: to me. Yeah, I have a guess that.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Makes sense, Marcus feeling a little confident. Clown of the
- 30:51Speaker 2: sea or sea parrot? What bird goes by those nicknames?
- 30:56Speaker 1: Chicken of the sea? I know that one?
- 30:59Speaker 5: And a forced close to.
- 31:02Speaker 2: What's a forest clown?
- 31:04Speaker 5: Well, turkey?
- 31:08Speaker 2: This bird goes by nicknames such as sea parrot, clown
- 31:12Speaker 2: of the sea, Tony Peterson. How do you feel about
- 31:14Speaker 2: your answer?
- 31:15Speaker 1: Not great?
- 31:18Speaker 2: This is question seven? Is everybody ready? Go ahead and
- 31:23Speaker 2: reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying seagull. Jordan says puffin,
- 31:29Speaker 2: Casey puffin, Tyler puffin, Tony King, Eider, Brent Clay puffin.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Jordan without an answer, Marcus says puffin. The correct answer
- 31:45Speaker 2: is puffin the room very well. There are three main
- 31:50Speaker 2: types of puffins, the tufted puffin, horned puffin, and Atlantic puffin.
- 31:56Speaker 2: The Atlantic puffin, which is found from Maine to Spain,
- 32:00Speaker 2: is considered a vulnerable species globally. Ironically, two of their
- 32:04Speaker 2: top threats are climate change and renewable energy. Question eight, Well,
- 32:09Speaker 2: topic that's fishing. Next great question is via Brent Weiss.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Name one of the two presidential waterways that form the
- 32:21Speaker 2: Missouri River.
- 32:25Speaker 4: The name is presidential? Like named after a president?
- 32:28Speaker 3: Is that what you mean?
- 32:29Speaker 2: Don't I'm not going to give you any hints. Name
- 32:32Speaker 2: one of the two presidential waterways that form the Missouri River.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Do we get extra points if we can name all
- 32:41Speaker 4: of them?
- 32:42Speaker 2: You don't, but you could maybe earn back some points
- 32:45Speaker 2: with Tony Peterson if you if you get this right
- 32:48Speaker 2: with authority.
- 32:50Speaker 4: I got this one.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Name one from writing his book That Wild Country?
- 32:57Speaker 4: Maybe so that Mark?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Do you have this one right?
- 33:00Speaker 1: Clay?
- 33:01Speaker 3: I gotta guess what through is throwing the doctor off?
- 33:06Speaker 3: Is throwing me off to the presidential river?
- 33:08Speaker 10: Like?
- 33:08Speaker 3: What is that name?
- 33:09Speaker 5: Man?
- 33:09Speaker 2: Name one of the two presidential waterways that form the
- 33:14Speaker 2: Missouri River? Tony? Do you have an answer?
- 33:19Speaker 5: I love this?
- 33:21Speaker 2: This is question.
- 33:23Speaker 13: Mean literally walked out of a conversation today where the
- 33:28Speaker 13: woman from Moultrie was explaining this. We're like, I'm thirsty,
- 33:32Speaker 13: megs like I gotta go pee we walked away from explaining.
- 33:35Speaker 3: This presidential waterways, the.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Right, this exact thing, and we were like, we will
- 33:42Speaker 1: never need this information.
- 33:44Speaker 10: Tony, I already knew all that information.
- 33:48Speaker 4: I'm surprised that you don't know this. Megan, I do
- 33:50Speaker 4: know this.
- 33:50Speaker 2: You do know.
- 33:52Speaker 10: I'm gonna I know this, speak this.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Eight so we will get a school board update after this, Tony,
- 34:00Speaker 2: how you doing down there? I come up with an answer.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I can. I can barely remember any president's last names.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Okay, everyone should give you a clue.
- 34:09Speaker 4: It's not the Trump.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Everybody should have one answer written down. Don't write down multiple.
- 34:15Speaker 2: If you do have multiple, just circle the one that
- 34:17Speaker 2: you're going with. Everybody your this is your last chance here,
- 34:22Speaker 2: Clay Nukem.
- 34:24Speaker 3: I I can't do it.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying, Jefferson,
- 34:31Speaker 2: Jordan Madison, Casey Madison, Tyler Roosevelt to Washington, Brent Jefferson,
- 34:42Speaker 2: Clay Yellowstone, Jordan Jefferson, Mark Jefferson. The two rivers are
- 34:50Speaker 2: what Mark Kenyon.
- 34:51Speaker 7: The Jefferson and the Madison, as well as the Gallatin
- 34:54Speaker 7: that it's not presidential. But those three rivers come together
- 34:57Speaker 7: and make one hell of a trump. I was worried
- 34:59Speaker 7: that it was too easy, because this is where we are.
- 35:01Speaker 2: That's rights. I can never ask that question in a
- 35:04Speaker 2: regular game of meat eater trivia because everybody lives within
- 35:08Speaker 2: like a stone's throw of where this happens, and the
- 35:10Speaker 2: Missouri River starts just west of Bozeman, Montana, where Jefferson,
- 35:16Speaker 2: Madison and Gallatin Rivers converge. All three waterways were named
- 35:20Speaker 2: by Lewis and Clark. The Gallatin is named after Elbert Gallatin,
- 35:24Speaker 2: who was the US Treasury Secretary. The other two rivers
- 35:28Speaker 2: are named after Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, the nation's
- 35:31Speaker 2: third and fourth presidents. Phil, we have two questions left.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Give us a scoreboard update.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Looking a little better.
- 35:38Speaker 12: Now we've got to Peterson and Jordan Budd with two
- 35:42Speaker 12: points apiece. Maggie, Jordan Sillers, Brent Reeves and Mark Kenyon
- 35:47Speaker 12: all have three and now tied up in first place
- 35:50Speaker 12: are k c and Clay Muko.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Literally, anybody could good place to be.
- 35:56Speaker 9: This is always the part of the game where Phil says,
- 35:59Speaker 9: looks Brent's out of the conversation.
- 36:02Speaker 5: But you noticed that I did not say that this
- 36:04Speaker 5: time brow no.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Question nine. The topic is woodsmanship. This hazard kills one
- 36:11Speaker 2: hundred Americans each year, which Noah defines as quote a
- 36:17Speaker 2: localized current that flows away from the shoreline toward the ocean.
- 36:25Speaker 2: This hazard kills one hundred Americans each year, which Noah
- 36:30Speaker 2: defines as a localized current that flows away from the
- 36:34Speaker 2: shoreline toward the ocean. Is question nine.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Will you accept one of two answers?
- 36:42Speaker 2: There is one correct answer to this question. I don't
- 36:48Speaker 2: like love Casey, Tony, you have this one right. I
- 36:54Speaker 2: feel like I do Clin newcom you have this one right.
- 36:56Speaker 3: I mean I have an answer.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Okay, Marcus, how are we doing?
- 37:00Speaker 7: I've got an answer, but I think sounds right.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Casey tied up in the lead. How you doing? Do
- 37:05Speaker 2: you have the right answer?
- 37:07Speaker 5: I have one of the two that I think are
- 37:08Speaker 5: the right answer.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Is everybody ready? Let Jordan Bud write down her answer.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Maggie saying riptide,
- 37:19Speaker 2: Jordan says riptide, Casey riptide, Tyler rip tide, current, Tony riptide,
- 37:28Speaker 2: Brent riptide, Clay riptide, Jordan riptide, mark riptid Jordan says tied.
- 37:38Speaker 2: The correct answer. The correct answers is rip current. Oh, no, nobody.
- 37:55Speaker 6: When you asked that question, I erased rip current.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Noah says that rip current, riptide, and undertow are three
- 38:02Speaker 2: different yet similar water hazard. Riptide is current that's created
- 38:07Speaker 2: by the swift movement of tidal water through inlets and harbors.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Undertow is current below the surface that's moving in a
- 38:14Speaker 2: different direction from the surface current, and rip current is
- 38:18Speaker 2: current that's flowing away from a shoreline. According to CBS News,
- 38:23Speaker 2: eighty percent of beach rescues annually involve rip currents.
- 38:28Speaker 5: I would have to look at the sign at the
- 38:30Speaker 5: National Sea Shore and I go back and make sure
- 38:32Speaker 5: it doesn't say ripped tide, but show a picture of
- 38:34Speaker 5: rip current.
- 38:34Speaker 2: They may the Noah is very specific that rip current
- 38:38Speaker 2: and riptide are not the same. Now, nothing changed on
- 38:43Speaker 2: the scoreboard, right, we.
- 38:45Speaker 12: Have uh yeah, everyone, let me see.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Tough game of trivia. Man. We have Clay and Casey
- 38:57Speaker 2: with four each. Maggie ordered Brent, we will go overtime
- 39:02Speaker 2: mark three. Now here's a correct review for our listeners
- 39:07Speaker 2: at home. Answer one was Queen, two was Old Town,
- 39:11Speaker 2: Three was Johnny Morris, four SunDog five one six Nevada seven,
- 39:18Speaker 2: Puffin eight was Jefferson River or Madison River? Nine was
- 39:22Speaker 2: rip Current. Here is question ten. The topic is conservation
- 39:26Speaker 2: and this is our listener question of the week, which
- 39:28Speaker 2: was won by Jackie Mason for sending this great question.

- 43:27Speaker 1: I love it.
- 43:27Speaker 5: So I love cutthroats. Yeah, man, all types of me too.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 43:31Speaker 5: I believe it's the coalition. I think that's the third
- 43:33Speaker 5: word in it.
- 43:33Speaker 3: But yeah, now what's all this about lumpers and separators?
- 43:36Speaker 5: So Mark, well I'll just explain yourself.

- 43:42Speaker 7: night on a backpacking fishing trip about how there's so
- 43:45Speaker 7: many different species of cutthroat trout, and I joked Tylling,
- 43:50Speaker 7: I just like to think about they're all cutthroat, like
- 43:52Speaker 7: the difference between a bear river and an apache and
- 43:56Speaker 7: a yellowstone versus a snake.
- 43:58Speaker 5: River versus a what they they're all cutthroat trout.
- 44:00Speaker 7: And then so he likes to call me a lumper.
- 44:02Speaker 7: So this is some people that prefer to like have
- 44:04Speaker 7: a smaller number of species, and some people that would
- 44:07Speaker 7: like to define them as is very differentiated and their
- 44:10Speaker 7: their threshold for speciation is is very low.
- 44:14Speaker 4: And so Tyler was pro split them up.
- 44:17Speaker 7: It's as much differentiation as possible, and I said, Cutty's
- 44:20Speaker 7: a cutting.
- 44:21Speaker 6: I think I like it mostly because it gives you
- 44:23Speaker 6: I'm a goal or in person, and so I like
- 44:25Speaker 6: thinking like I can catch that one next, And.
- 44:27Speaker 4: You like the cutthroat slam. Yeah yeah, right, yeah, makes them.
- 44:30Speaker 2: All feel a little more special if they're supposed to
- 44:33Speaker 2: be a little bit different. So five hundred dollars.
- 44:34Speaker 5: Going where Casey Coastal Cutthroat Coalition. I believe if we
- 44:38Speaker 5: make sure that's the third word.
