- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Through the lens of self-friendship,
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: the daily practice of embracing,
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: understanding,
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: and enjoying ourselves,
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I hopefully inspire you to critically think,
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: creatively think,
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: and optimistically approach life.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Imagine this.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: you hopped on the band rocket and now you're on planet butter,
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: a world made of delicious sparkly peanut butter and an adorable disco ball of
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: self-reflection is whirling around in her transforming convertible.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Thanks for joining me in my 48th episode.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Some of what I'll be sharing includes my answer to last week's question of the week,
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: a note on phonetic hypnosis,
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: an expression of intimacy,
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: conscious ignorance,
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: a note on committing to boundaries,
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: a party of one,
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: a perspective dance with death,
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: how to navigate hardships,
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: and as always,
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: a brand new question at the end for all of us to self-reflect and self-connect and
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: email me,
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: selffriendshippodcast at gmail.com.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: My answer to last week's question of the week, which was...
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: My default question at all times to myself is, how can I make this fun for myself?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I sincerely go into everything as if it's already fun.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: And especially when there's other people involved,
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: whether it's a trip to the immigration office,
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: the hospital,
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: a coffee shop,
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: I find a way to make the conversations I have playful or light in some capacity,
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: making it fun.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: I laugh, they laugh,
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: And even if they don't laugh, I laugh.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I'm having fun with myself, for myself, as myself.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: You see?
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Party of one.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: I also love the challenge of getting people to laugh who don't seem like they're ready to.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Like I had a few podcast interviews last week,
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: and when I was doing my research for them,
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: there was one in particular where the person seemed rather...
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: serious and the conversations that they had while they were interesting,
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: they were not what I would call fun.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: So I was really excited to be interviewed by this person to see how I can turn it into play.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: And I did.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: It went so well.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: We went well over the intended recording time, having a super fun chat.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Woohoo!
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Self-friendship.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: The other layer of this to note is the positive influence my party of one had on this person.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: This is the value of showing up for ourselves.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: It inevitably has a positive influence on others and then others.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Their positive experience influences the people that they interact with.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: It makes me think of the movie Pay It Forward.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I love that movie.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: I think it came out in the 90s.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Check it out.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Great movie.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Great message.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: A little sad, but beautiful.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Now a quote that deeply resonated with me, which is not an easy feat.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: I have very high standards for quotes that resonate with me that aren't mine.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: If you're fun to play with, the universe will have fun playing with you.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Jason Love on Rick Rubin's podcast, Tetragrammaton.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: I immensely respect Rick Rubin and his book.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know him.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: I respect his work and his book, The Creative.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: I don't know him yet.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: We'll get there.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: His book,
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: The Creative Act,
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: as you know,
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: if you've been on Planet Butter's Instagram for a while,
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: I recently shared with Patrice Bonfoglio on her podcast,
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: The Burnout Club,
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: that I want Rick to write the full word to Planet Butter's chapter book,
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Two Types of Selfishness,
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: The Self-Friendship Renaissance.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I just dumped a lot on you guys and I want that quote to land.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: So if you're fun to play with, the universe will have fun too.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Playing with you.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Jason Love.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Thanks, Jason.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Now a note on phonetic hypnosis.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: I recently learned about phonetic hypnosis and the phrase itself caught me.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And so when I looked into it, I realized I had been doing it intuitively slash subconsciously.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to call myself out for it now while sharing the knowledge with you guys.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Phonetic hypnosis involves the use of sound,
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: rhythm,
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: and patterns in speech to influence or entrain the listener's mind.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Similarly to how phonetic patterns,
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: tones,
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: or rhythms in language and speech,
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: especially through repetition,
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: can create a trance-like state where listeners are more absorbed in the messaging.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: So...
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: if you haven't noticed all regularly delivered the introduction to self-friendship podcast,
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: the definition of self-friendship,
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: the daily practice of embracing,
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: understanding,
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: and enjoying ourselves party of one and perspective dance amongst other things in a
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: specific tone and pace amongst my intentional language choices.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: So I'm hypnotizing you into having fun and being friends with yourself.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: You're welcome.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: I'm so amused.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Amused in changing the world.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Bang.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: So cool.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, now the power of physical space for our expansion.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: I've been a beach girl for about seven years now.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And the longest time I spent away from a large body of water was when I lived in
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: the rice fields up north in Bali for about a month.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: The lack of ocean was honestly a concern despite my excitement for the adventure,
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: but it absolutely felt aligned.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: So we did what we do and we trusted the uni.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: And in my time there,
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: because the rice fields and jungle were exceptionally spacious,
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: much like the ocean.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: I quickly realized that physical space is actually superior to the ocean for me.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: The ocean is my preferred way to experience the physically expansive space amongst
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: a zillion other reasons why I love the ocean.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: However,
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: I did learn that physical space is superior in terms of positive influence on my
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: life and get this.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I believe that it must directly influence my capacity for my personal life's expansion.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Our external environment directly influences our internal state of being.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: So if we have a physically expansive space to immerse in,
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: we can internalize it,
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: resulting in the embodiment of expansiveness more easily as well.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Seeing it, being it.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: It's like living proof for expansion.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Yay.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Now this one's juicy gentlemen and ladies.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I hope there are some ladies here, but as of present, my audience is 98% men.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: So hello gentlemen.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: An expression of intimacy.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: So one of the things that I pride myself on is leading by example, preaching what I practice.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: I've said this a bunch.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: There's also an R there's also an
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: article on it, on the planet butter publication posted on Substack titled preach what you practice.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Check it out.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: So I pride myself on leading by example,
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: and I show up in my self friendship practice,
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: do my best to share my discoveries,
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: experiences,
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: and theories with you.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: I was recently at a women's circle where we were asked to express our top three
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: priorities in a romantic relationship and elaborate on each.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to share my priorities with an audience that's mostly men,
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: because as someone with exceptionally high standards,
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: I hope to inspire you to self-reflect and self-connect on your own standards.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: What you might be accepting compared to what you actually want to welcome into your world.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And to have a little insight into a woman's brain who has high standards.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Got you covered babies.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: So my three priorities,
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: alignment,
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: big surprise,
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: healthy challenge,
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: also big surprise and safety,
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: safety,
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: safety,
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: safety.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Alignment, healthy challenge and safety.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: So to elaborate on each alignment, I said,
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: physically,
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: mentally,
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: and emotionally synchronized with each other while still prioritizing our own best interests.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: We come together because we each prioritize what's best for ourselves and our
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: dynamic is the natural outcome of that.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: As for healthy challenge,
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: I said,
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: someone who is emotionally and intellectually on my level,
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: understanding both how I want to grow and how they want to grow.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: We hold each other to the same standards we set for ourselves while still admiring
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: who we are in the present.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And third, safety, complete safety, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I can be my full self in all my forms.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: He can too.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: We can share anything, say anything, and be unapologetically transparent and direct.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Nothing is taken personally.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Everything is viewed as a way to improve the relationship,
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: which stands as an external entity beyond ourselves.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: We can go anywhere and do anything with me trusting him to lead and protect my
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: well-being while I fully receive his vulnerability and efforts.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Love.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: There's also an article on Planet Butter's publication hosted on Substack that's titled,
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Love is Easy,
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Self-Friendship is in Love.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Something like that.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I'll link it in the show notes.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Now conscious ignorance,
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: conscious ignorance is knowing and choosing to neglect everything that does not
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: fuel our alignment,
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: our role in the ever expansive universe.
- 11:24Okay.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Now a self-friendship article snippet.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Intocentricism meet Hermeticism.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: As it turns out,
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: some of Planet Butter's belief system,
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Intocentricism,
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: which prioritizes our intuition and embodies the pursuit of self-control and
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: self-expression leading to the collective expansion of society,
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: aligns with some of the pre-existing concept of Hermeticism.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: How cool.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: I love when I reach my own conclusions and discover that other people or groups of
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: people equally independently arrived at the same conclusions or ideas.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: The magic of wonder,
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: exploring our minds,
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: reflecting on existence and further expanding on innovation,
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: creativity and connecting not so unique thoughts yet.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: arriving uniquely.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Our how will always be different from one another.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: That's part of the magic.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: In hermetic thought,
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: the universe is seen as a reflection of divine order and interconnectedness,
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: where every element from the stars to the smallest creatures hold symbolic meaning,
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: that everything around us is a symbol reflecting deeper truths.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: that everything in our surroundings is constantly communicating with us.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: This is aligned with my article.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Signs are the language of the uni where I playfully embody and convey the same concept.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Hermeticism also has a principle that everything is nature,
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: which is also the same conclusion I drew in relation to technology in my article,
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: transcending limitations.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Given my love and practice of perspective dancing,
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: critical thinking,
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: and creative thinking,
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to explore the contrast of linear thinking.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Read or listen to the rest of the article on Planet Butter's publication hosted on Substack,
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: planetbutter.substack.com.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Okay, now a note on committing to boundaries.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: We all love boundaries, or so I hope.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: We'll get there.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's difficult to stick to a boundary.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we set boundaries we either haven't previously set or in some instances
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: we don't want to have to set.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: But we have to in order to prioritize our own best interest and well-being.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: This is where our commitment comes in.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: By setting it once, by setting the boundary once, we increase our confidence and become in alignment.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: The three core methods to activate self-friendship, boundaries, confidence, alignment.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: This ultimately makes us more prone to continue to take action that perpetuates
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: this cycle,
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: creating lasting change.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: This point was just to raise awareness to the fact that sometimes it's hard.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: But cultivating the awareness around it and understanding that sticking to things
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: that we don't want to have to do is part of what's in our best interest sometimes.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: And we can have fun doing it because we love a healthy challenge.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: Now, following that, very important, a note on standards.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: We don't change our standards.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: We take them elsewhere.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: In taking them elsewhere, indifference is our superpower.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: If we are not indifferent, then some part of our energy is invested in what is not meeting our standards.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: And what we accept is what we deserve.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: Accept what you deserve and what you deserve are your standards.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Keep those standards high, baby.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I love that one.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: I actually shared that on Planet Butters Instagram and I got a lot of really positive feedback.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: So I was excited to share that with you guys.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: What was really cool about it is that a lot of the guys were messaging.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: A lot of you guys are messaging saying it was like the perfect timing to receive that.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And I just love when that happens because alignment.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, now a party of one.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: As a loving reminder,
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: party of one means having fun with oneself,
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: for oneself,
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: as oneself,
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: anywhere,
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: everywhere,
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: no matter who's there.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: We become our party of one by consistently practicing self-friendship.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Each episode,
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: I share little tidbits from my life that happened thanks to me showing up in the
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: world as my party of one.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: First, here's a reminder of an affirmation I made up
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: Today, my work is to receive while the universe and my previous efforts provide for me.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: The other day, I had one of those types of days, a day to receive.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: So because I'm obsessed with building Planet Butter,
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: sometimes I have to remind myself that what may appear or feel as though I'm not
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: working on Planet Butter is always,
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: always working on Planet Butter.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: When I am in receiving mode, I am still working on Planet Butter.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: A lot of ideas and realizations come to me during my adventures,
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: my parties of one,
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: and the adventures themselves are used as Planet Butter material.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: And it respects my concept of passing the baton, which is the better version of letting go.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: In giving the uni space, it needs to do what it needs to do in support of me.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: and you when you apply this to you.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: So I went about my day focusing on receiving in ways that I know are relaxing and
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: nurturing for me and my wellbeing.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: which is in turn in my best interest and therefore in the world's best interest.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: And while I'm doing that,
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: we have zero idea or ability to comprehend the level that the uni has been up to
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: the entire day.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, the level of magic that the uni has been up to.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: We don't know what the uni is doing while we're receiving.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Now, so what did I do that day?
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: This is what I did.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Ready?
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: I first realized I needed to go into receiving mode when I started to record my
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: audio article because I was getting frustrated with the tech stuff.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: And normally I don't get frustrated with that stuff.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: And I love doing my audio articles.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: So if I'm getting frustrated while doing something I love,
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I probably just need to go into receiving mode.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: So I did.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: And then I got a yummy breakfast.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: I went to the beach.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I got a massage.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I went to aerial yoga relaxation.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: I had a creative jam session with my friend and did another beach walk.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Sauna, ice bath, a little socializing, all is well.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Receive, cool.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Now, a perspective dance with religions.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: I say this with full respect for everyone's beliefs.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: However, religions are like one big game of telephone.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: That's it, just think about it.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: All right, now a perspective dance with death.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Humans often find comfort in a sense of knowing until it comes to death.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: Death is a guarantee we know but don't understand.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: So instead of accepting it, for some reason we fear it.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: But if we find comfort in knowing,
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: why not also find peace in knowing it's inevitable rather than fearing it?
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: It's not very self-friendship of us to fear the inevitable.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: Now is it?
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Now, a reading consideration.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: I'm reading a book right now that I actually don't love.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: The structure and the writing style aren't exactly for me,
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: but I really appreciate the concept,
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: so I'm still reading it,
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: approaching it from a critical thinking standpoint,
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: as always.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: It's inspiration.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: Now, I'm super excited about this one.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: How to navigate hardships.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: I was laughing for a long time when I thought of this one.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: So how to navigate hardships.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Self-talk is one thing.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: The way we narrate our life is an extension of our self-talk.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: The stories we tell ourselves.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: We're familiar with this idea of narratives.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Lots of people talk about this a lot.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: I'm offering that during the moments of our more challenging life situations,
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Instead of trying to convince ourselves that it's gonna be okay with positive
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: affirmations or whatever,
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: that our subconscious self just straight up doesn't believe or has a hard time believing,
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: which really just makes us feel like we're lying to ourselves and that ultimately
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: worsens our emotional state.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: So instead of all of that, to be objective and playful as much as possible,
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: as we do on Planet Butter,
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: I'm encouraging that once we cultivate the awareness of the challenging time,
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: we can begin to detach and become optimistic by narrating the situation with the
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: most absurdly incredible and amazing outcome you can possibly imagine.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: So narrate the situation like, okay, insert whatever your hardship is,
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: say it out loud, and then make a dramatic pivot.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: And then I was on my way to a meeting when I got a phone call from Cirrus Aircraft,
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: a private jet charter company,
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: discovered Planet Butter and wants to bring my Planet Butter jet dream to life.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And they're sponsoring Self-Friendship Podcast to be recorded while in flight for
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: as many episodes as I want.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: And they're going to provide pizza, my sparkly Planet Butter, and coconuts.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: I can go on, but I'll stop, you get the idea.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Hello Cirrus Aircrafts.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Okay, you with me?
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Go try it, have fun, let me know how it goes.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, almost lastly, second to lastly, a sneaky snug.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: When you catch yourself with your arms crossed, slowly transition to a hug.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Give yourself a little squeeze and then let it go.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: It'll shift into a giggle and you'll give yourself a little love.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: And lastly,
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: the question of the week for all of us to self-reflect and self-connect and email me,
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: selffriendshippodcast at gmail.com.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Where in your life can you integrate conscious ignorance?
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: Again,
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: conscious ignorance is knowing and choosing to neglect everything that does not
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: fuel our alignment,
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: our role in the ever expansive universe.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Let me know your answers.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Self friendship podcast at gmail.com.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: All right, we did it again.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Bonus self-friendship podcast episodes featuring your world.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Each selected submission will be its own episode where I'll be giving my
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: perspective dancing and opinions through the lens of self-friendship.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: This is of course not a substitute for professional support.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: The bonus episodes will be available every other week exclusively for founding
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: members of Planet Butter's publication hosted on Substack beginning this Sunday,
