- 0:24Congratulations, you have made it. It is Friday and you have made it.
- 0:29Inside the Treehouse, I'm Danilmaley along with Trey Trenholme and no longer Special
- 0:38and just fyi, Raj. I'm not the one that said you're a little
- 0:41that you're no longer special. Halo Haleen from Pausing the City said that because
- 0:45she's already listened to the most recent episode and one of the first things she
- 0:49said when she walked in the door is hi, Raj isn't special anymore?
- 0:54And she threw a dog at me and ran away. Luckily she felt bad
- 0:58for the dog because the dog is blind. She actually has with her today
- 1:02from Pause in the City Muggsy that we first heard about all the way back
- 1:04at Daddy Rabbits bub in Louisville, and now we get to meet Muggsy in
- 1:10person. Yeah, is Muggsy though like wire hair terrier mix that we talked.
- 1:15Okay, can you can you hold muggs up just a little bit to
- 1:19disturb him? He was quite lumpy in my lap. He's kind of nap
- 1:23Oh, he got quite comfy in my lap. He decided to take a
- 1:26nap. This is the most Chili's Ben since Vin here, so Muggsy is
- 1:33eight years old. Muggsy is eight years old. Has he been blind for
- 1:38all eight years? We're not sure if he's been blind for all eight years.
- 1:42But honestly, despite the fact that he's blind, he gets around really
- 1:45well. And he even has a little bumper hula hoop to put around his
- 1:49neck for a new environments so he doesn't bump into stuff too hard. Is
- 1:55that like a cone of shame for a blind dog. It's not a cone
- 1:59of shame tray, It's a cone of ability. It's the cone of shame.
- 2:04It's not the cone of shame tray. If you were wearing it,
- 2:06it would be the cone of shame. It's like it's like putting a helmet
- 2:09on your drunk buddy. That's what it is. That would be a helmet
- 2:15of shame. This dog, Muggsy did nothing wrong other than I don't know
- 2:19if he did anything wrong to get blind or not. I don't know if
- 2:21he jumped in a pool of acid like the Joker or what. But the
- 2:23fact is Muggsy's blind, and Muggsie needs a home, and we're going to
- 2:27see if we can get well, see if we can get Muggsy adopted in
- 2:30the Treehouse today. But before we do that, we have to do something
- 2:32extremely important, more important than getting Muggsy adopted. Sorry, Muggsy, Okay,
- 2:37something that we need to address. As a show. We normally steer
- 2:39away from super divisive things, but sometimes you just can't ignore certain things that
- 2:46need to be addressed. Something that needs to be addressed not only at a
- 2:49show level, but as a society. And if I'm being one hundred percent
- 2:53honest, we need to address it as humans. Okay, Oh my gosh.
- 2:58Okay. And that is whether or not this bear in the zoo in
- 3:01China is real or not. There's okay. That the hell of a build
- 3:07up, Dan, Thank you, Trey. I've been working for many,
- 3:10many years. Turns out I'm really good at letting people down. This is
- 3:19divisive. You think it's extremely divisive, do you guys? So first of
- 3:23all, this is real rage. I'm not making this up. You see
- 3:24that. You see I see that headline that is NBC News read that what
- 3:28does it say? Zoo in China denies speculation that it's bears are actually humans
- 3:35in disguise. Yeah. See, this is why it's so important we address
- 3:38this I mean, Lester Holt from NBC Nightly News can't be the only one
- 3:43to be addressing this on a serious level. We need to throw our hats
- 3:46in the ring. Okay, So this is not a joking matter. This
- 3:49is something that's very serious. Yes, how have you not seen this?
- 3:53Rage? I don't know. I don't. I don't know what you guys
- 3:57watch. I don't. I don't know. Okay, that's very un't.
- 4:02I don't know. I just haven't seen it on the news. I watched
- 4:05and Klin you said you've seen this, right, I absolutely have. Yeah,
- 4:10I'm watching see you rage. You're the only one that hasn't. But
- 4:13it's okay. I'm also pretty sure Muggsy hasn't seen it. That's rude.
- 4:19Yeah, but at least Muggsy's heart about it. There you go, all
- 4:25right, let me have Lesterholt clue you enrage? All right? These technology
- 4:30work for me. The curious video from China that has sparked the debate over
- 4:40what exactly it is that people are seeing at a zoo, Janice Mackie freyer
- 4:44as the Air Necessities the facts about a question igniting the internet. Is this
- 4:50sun there at a zoo in China really a bear or is it a human?
- 4:56Into star are you watching showing a bear named Angela on hind legs with
- 5:02impressive posture, lumpy heads and waving. Yeah, that's see, that's an
- 5:13expert ridge fishy, we asked the deputy director, So is the bear real
- 5:20or faith? I promise it's real, he says, seeing is believing.
- 5:27People can come and see for themselves. But across social media the debate will
- 5:31not be tamed. It looks too fishy to me. Despite a statement,
- 5:35well there you go, some people thought the way I stand up looks too
- 5:41human, so I will stress again. I'm a sun bear bear in mind,
- 5:46there is pacedent for impostors here, like in twenty thirteen when a Chinese
- 5:50zoo was caught trying to pass off a dog as a lion. With their
- 5:57colored chest fur are just smaller as slimmer than most other Bearskins are really important
- 6:03adaptation for some guys, so it's actually to avoid predators. Still, the
- 6:08zoo is in no rush to escape the spot, but attendance is up thirty
- 6:13percent as visitors claw their way to bear witness too behind. This is also
- 6:18one of those times in the news business where It's like there there's an over
- 6:23under on how many on how many puns they can have in one package.
- 6:28Yeah, and this lady, clearly, this reporter clearly has taken the over
- 6:32Yes, there's gotta be that guy. When the story like this leaks and
- 6:35like you know, uh, Gary and puns, we gotta we gotta go
- 6:41give Gary a call. He's he's got he's got all of them. Uh,
- 6:44because that was uh, if you don't mind, that was unbearable to
- 6:47watch. Uh that that that is not a yeah, But I'm not sure.
- 6:54I'm not sure what I'm more ashamed of the Chinese Zoo for trying to
- 6:57pass this off as a real bear or your pun that I had one punt.
- 7:03I'm so when So when Taram, when my wife first showed me this
- 7:08a couple of days ago, I guess when the rest of the world discovered
- 7:11it rage except for you. I immediately looked at and said, that's a
- 7:15dude. Yeah. But the more I watch it, the more I'm swayed
- 7:18to thinking, all I think it's actually just I think it's a bear.
- 7:24Okay, So, Trey, where do you fall on this very divisive subject.
- 7:29I just like the Chinese China seems to have a new tourist slogan,
- 7:32Come see if the bear's real. Yeah, come for the bear, stay
- 7:36for the corona. I'm with you, Dan. I first saw it,
- 7:43I'm like, Okay, that's not real. And then I, as i've
- 7:46watched it more often, I think it's just a very odd looking bear.
- 7:49Okay, now, Raj, you've seen what limited? What limited footed?
- 7:53You have now seen? Yes, hang on, I'm gonna let you analyze
- 7:57that in your mind for a brief more, for a brief moment more,
- 8:00Kaylen, where do you fall on this? I think it's definitely a bear.
- 8:03The footage I saw was a little bit different. They purposefully like,
- 8:07we're pretty far so it looked like the collar of the bear was a person
- 8:11peeking through, and then when they zoomed in, it was just the markings.
- 8:13I think it's okay. I'd ask Mugsy, but he'd couldn't see anything.
- 8:20But I was a dick when I said it. I'm saying I'm innocent.
- 8:26There, I'm just I'm just taking back. I just go with this.
- 8:31Uh if if a zoo, there's gonna go, Hey, we don't
- 8:33have a lion. Can we borrow your dog. It wasn't that wasn't that
- 8:39zoo. That was just a zoo in China. Okay, yeah, sorry,
- 8:43ro Not all zoos in China are the same. Yeah, because the
- 8:48and you guys have been Now how many I don't No, I don't know
- 8:50how mean there are. But China is a big country. I know they
- 8:54have more than one zoo. I'm just saying, if the if the trend
- 8:58for China is a we don't have that animal, what can we do to
- 9:03make people believe we have that animal? I'm gonna go with that is not
- 9:07I've never seen a bear, okay, I mean outside of like Disney,
- 9:11I've never seen a bear wave like that. I've never seen you bring up
- 9:16a solid point because this is this is the argument my wife and I got
- 9:20into earlier today when we revisited this very divisive topic and she's like, like
- 9:26you just said, She's like, bears don't wave. I said, well,
- 9:30of course, not not bears in the wild. That would be weird.
- 9:33However, if ones in captivity, animals have shown, not just bear,
- 9:37but other animals have shown to sort of mimic the actions and mirror the
- 9:41people at them. So if a bunch of people are waving at them.
- 9:45The animal kind of are like, okay, I can do that too,
- 9:48without realizing what they're doing. Um no, I'm gonna go with no.
- 9:56Did you never watch Grizzly Atoms? Uh? He never waved by to him?
- 10:03Bears just you come along. I just wish, I just wish if
- 10:11Hulu were smart, they would redo that clip and then all of a sudden,
- 10:15Jeremy Allen White would pop out and go watch The Bear season two.
- 10:20Yeah, I'm okay, I'm I'm watching. Uh the clip from here that
- 10:24is not that's not a bear. That that's somebody that answered the wrong LinkedIn
- 10:30AD. I would love to see that LinkedIn AD though. That's somebody with
- 10:37a terrible agent. I was like, hey, man, I got you
- 10:41this gig. You're gonna be the new Bear in Channon's Like. So,
- 10:45for those for those that are in the know, in the movie Trading Places,
- 10:48uh in the gorilla suit and the movie Trading Places, that was very
- 10:52obviously a man in a gorilla suit. That was actually Jim Belushi, who
- 10:56went on to star in. According to Jim, so do you think that
- 11:01there's there's a hidden star inside of this bear, inside of China. I'm
- 11:05just saying, it's the union's on strike. I don't know what people are
- 11:09doing, so that makes sense. So this is a scab and a bear
- 11:11costing No, because they didn't have to. They didn't have to cross the
- 11:16line. They just like to cross timelines, is what they had to do.
- 11:20They're like, you know what, I can't work there. It's an
- 11:22actor from here. That's like, you know what, I can't get a
- 11:26gig. He went onto his Chinese LinkedIn account. It's China, it's non
- 11:30union. Isn't a commune? Yeah, uh yeah it is. Uh,
- 11:39that's not that's not a that's a cool Okay. If I'm watching it again,
- 11:46If that's a bear, that's a cool ass bear. Man that is.
- 11:50I would love to see it next to the Lion Dog. That would
- 11:52be cool. Uh maybe that's next. Is because now now that you have
- 11:58the two origin stories, they're following the superhero movies. So now you have
- 12:01the Lion Dog and the man bear in a team up. Now, see,
- 12:05I would watch that. I would have watched that as a series.
- 12:11But yeah, I'm watching this again, and it's also it's China, and
- 12:16so it makes sense that they probably didn't they probably built the exhibit with no
- 12:22bear and they're like, ah, what were we missing? They're like,
- 12:24oh the bear. Do you think they build zoos like they do cities.
- 12:30There's the ghost zoos of China. Yes, actually it makes sense because there
- 12:33are. It's because you're right, because China has these cities everywhere that have
- 12:35been built with no people. And it makes sense if you're gonna, like,
- 12:37if you're gonna do a real world sim city like the video game,
- 12:43you would put a zoo in the middle of it, wouldn't you. Yeah,
- 12:46I mean And by the way, for everyone listening, if you haven't
- 12:48heard of them, google Ghost Cities of China and this will all make sense.
- 12:52It's real. Also the name of a band. That would be awesome
- 12:56if we just would called ourselves the Ghost Cities of China. But I would
- 13:01believe that they would. Uh. Because they said it's up thirty That says
- 13:05tourism to that particular zoos now up thirty percent because of the controversy. I
- 13:11think the zoo needed revenue. Uh. And they put Glenn Um in a
- 13:16bear suit uh, and Glenn waves uh that nobody's stand. Have you ever
- 13:22seen a bear stand like this? It's just like he's whispering, head,
- 13:28what happened? Black bears do it all the time. Grizzlies do it.
- 13:31You've seen grizzlies get up really big. I mean that's he's not big.
- 13:35He's cold, chilling. I don't know if you have ever seen I don't
- 13:39know if you've ever seen a like if I just want him to like reach
- 13:41into his bear pocket and grab it back of smokes and just like one upclock
- 13:48cocaine. Yeah that's yeah, that's the bear that cuts it up and like
- 13:56that's the cocaine bear that gets busted for distribution. Like that's well, he's
- 14:01well, he's he's he's got he's got the job on LinkedIn and China.
- 14:05He's got to find, you know, additional income. All Right, I
- 14:07think we've done enough stupid stuff for now. Let's come back and get a
- 14:11lion adopted. Okay, let's do it. You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 14:20Visit us online, that treehouse OnAir dot com. You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 14:39Visit us online, that Treehouse OnAir dot com. All right, let's
- 14:48leave that controversy about the bear in the Chinese zoom behind him. Let's see
- 14:50if we can get so we can get Muggsy from Pause in the City adopted.
- 14:54If you're interested in Muggsy or any of the wonderful animals available for adoption
- 14:58three Pause in the City, go to their website Pause in the City dot
- 15:01org and here. How to tell us a little more about Muggsy is,
- 15:05of course Kalin from Pause in the City. That was an abrupt bumper end.
- 15:09And since we're on camera, Muggsie, I'm gonna need you to actually
- 15:11mug for the camera a little bit. Okay. Oh, I don't know
- 15:16if we'll be able to get him to actually look into the camera very well.
- 15:20It might be difficult to see, but he's definitely Yeah. I didn't
- 15:24mean that as an insult. Tray a minute, because because he is blind,
- 15:26you can actually the dogs right there, and he's not deaf. You're
- 15:31hurting his feelings. I was definitely kind of snapping to get him to point
- 15:35that direction, and he got mad and nudge my elbow like, no,
- 15:39bring your hand back here. Oh. So he is eight years old,
- 15:43so he knows how to how to boss people around a little bit, so
- 15:46Muggy. Yeah, so Muggsie's eight years old. He is blind, you
- 15:48might be able to see a little bit in the camera. So he's got
- 15:50like the the wided out eyes. So it's it's not just making up a
- 15:54story to get him adopted. In surprise, he actually can see he's he's
- 15:58actually and I also this goes you can see how happy he is. Yeah,
- 16:04and that's everything. A second there, I wasn't here. He was
- 16:07actually blind because he was looking right into my eyes. Yeah, and I
- 16:11realized he was just looking into my soul. He's got the perfect gig.
- 16:15He's right up against her boobs and and everyone's loving on him. That's just
- 16:19a puppy spot. It just happens, is what we'll call him. Dog
- 16:25Dogs love boobs. Everyone loves boobs. Bob aba. There you go.
- 16:32That's I thought we established Roger was not an Abba fan in the last episode.
- 16:37We're going to work on that. That's going to be more important.
- 16:40Part is the Tit is absolutely Yeah, that's the name of Trey's autobiography.
- 16:45He's just boobs and Abba booe. Uh yeah, I'm Muggsy's cool, like
- 16:52he looks like he should be voiced over by Christopher Lloyd. Oh, that's
- 16:56actually really good. I could I can I can not only see it,
- 17:00but I can hear it. Yeah, and now I'm aline because I thought
- 17:03you're saying I can do it. No. No, Now, if rog
- 17:06had said that he looks like Christopher walking should being him that Rag can do
- 17:11that I can do. But he looks more of alloy than a walk out.
- 17:15He's got a little more. He's got more of a frenetic look about
- 17:18him. Does he looks like a mad scientist would tell a story about a
- 17:25watch? What? He does look like he would. But he does look
- 17:32like he would build a time machine out of a DeLorean. That's what he
- 17:34does look like that. Oh, yeah, definitely does. He's super sweet.
- 17:41He is just like really loving. Um. I walked in the door,
- 17:44and you know, I think he could obviously smell my dogs on me,
- 17:47but it was like, okay, you're a dog person. And he
- 17:48came and he said in my lap and just collapsed like started rolling to get
- 17:52his belly rubbed. And he hasn't had his halo on here. Um,
- 17:57he navigated it pretty well. Oh okay, Yeah, there's gotta mean there's
- 18:02gotta be something about this dog because my dog has never come into the room
- 18:04when I'm recording and both of them are on the bed, So you're saying,
- 18:10your dogs know that you're cheating on them visually. I think they know
- 18:12there's a super cool dog that I'm talking to and they want to see what.
- 18:17It's got to be weird for them to think that, because dogs do
- 18:18get jealous. I've I've seen it. I've seen it many many times,
- 18:22and it makes sense that dogs would also, because you know, they can
- 18:26perceive things very well. So what they're doing is they're watching you, yes,
- 18:30emotionally cheat on them through the internet with another dog. Well, I
- 18:37think, but I've given them their own actors that should have their voices.
- 18:41So there, I think they were trying to see which actor I gave to
- 18:45Mugsy here and they're like, okay, cool. Now they're both asleep,
- 18:48so they're like, all right, cool, Okay, he's not just using
- 18:49the same actor for every dog. Okay, that's good. So real quick,
- 18:52what are your dogs actors portrayal? So? Uh so I have too.
- 18:56So the youngest is sweet boy Sam and uh he's Ving Rhimes, Okay,
- 19:04okay, not like pulp fiction, Ving Raimes, not like Arby's.
- 19:08We got to meet Ving Rhimes. Okay, that's good to know. Uh
- 19:12and then uh, Hugh Grant does uh. Ess that's good to have a
- 19:18British accent thrown in. It offers credibility to the role. I'm just wondering.
- 19:23I'm just wondering. So and it's so we got Muggy here, who
- 19:26would be voiced by Christopher Lloyd. I'm wondering what trays dog Daisy? Who
- 19:30would who would voice Daisy Phyllis Phyllis Diller, Carol Channing about four pack a
- 19:41day on now on that three pound Yeah, I don't know. My toothless
- 19:48dog just saw in a Denter commercials A really old reference but still a solid
- 19:56one. So is there anything else you can tell as Kaylin about Muggsy or
- 20:00any of the other dogs available for adoption trou Pause in the City. I
- 20:03mean, we've got a great set of dogs right now. I know,
- 20:06last time we also talked about Pugsley. I got to meet him in person.
- 20:08Hello, we got to meet him in person when we did the Pause
- 20:12in the City event at Holy Girl and Plano, and he was super chill
- 20:18as well. So, um, you know, don't forget where We're going
- 20:21to start introducing some more dogs here soon. But because We've got such great
- 20:23feedback show when the photos at the live event for Muggsy. Um, you
- 20:27know, we wanted to make sure that you could actually get a little piece
- 20:30of his personality since we're on YouTube. Now. Oh he's great. It
- 20:34seems like his personality is just to hang out with Kaylin. Yeah. Yeah,
- 20:44he's definitely been a bit of a doll crow dog since I've gotten me
- 20:47here. Yeah. Well, so if you have any interest in fostering or
- 20:53adopting Muggsie or any of the wonderful dogs at Pause in the City, just
- 20:57go to the website Pause in the City Dog or she does not come with
- 21:00the dog. Guys, I'm just saying that's just so a disclaimer. She
- 21:04doesn't go just because you dot Muggsy doesn't mean you get her as well.
- 21:08We have to put that. Yeah. Yeah, so it's the same rule
- 21:11as before. We've had this rule before. Well no, actually, if
- 21:18I'm actually being honest, in the past, you probably would have gotten Mark
- 21:22Vermont and the dog or just Mark. That's how we got Mark. Be
- 21:33sure to check out pausing this City dot org. Thank you, Thank you
- 21:37Muggsy and thinks you didn't thank you, Kayle and thank you Dana the foster,
- 21:41for bringing Buggsy over Raj Trey. Thank you, guys. We'll see
- 21:42you next time in the treehouse. For the next time we have a dog
- 21:47in the treehouse. All right. Oh, I'm sorry. He doesn't like
- 21:53that I'm not petting him constantly. A good boy.
