- 0:38Speaker 1: or so. He'll join us an hour number two as well.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Let's start here though, with Mikey A and Taylor. First off,
- 0:46Speaker 1: congratulations to Mikey A and his son's little league team.
- 0:51Speaker 1: They were Mikey, what they win? You're more excited than
- 0:53Speaker 1: he is. I know you're committed to this in a
- 0:56Speaker 1: way that he's not. So what did they win?
- 0:59Speaker 3: They won the New England Regional. They went as high
- 1:02Speaker 3: as they could go for their age group in Little
- 1:06Speaker 3: League and they won it all all right, so undefeated
- 1:08Speaker 3: through the regionals.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Well, congratulations to you, not to your son, just to you.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Your son doesn't care to me.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I listen, he didn't have to pay for the hotel
- 1:16Speaker 3: room for nine days. He didn't lose his voice screaming
- 1:19Speaker 3: for him. Yes, all he did was hit and play defense.
- 1:22Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 1:25Speaker 4: I paid and I screamed, that's right, and I danced.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I am very excited because we'll get to Taylor's winners
- 1:34Speaker 1: and losers from preseason week one. I have done these
- 1:37Speaker 1: during the regular season. I have never done an addition
- 1:40Speaker 1: of winners and losers for a preseason week one. This
- 1:44Speaker 1: is very exciting Taylor. But let's start with Jackson Dart,
- 1:48Speaker 1: because I believe Taylor has some issues with the narrative
- 1:50Speaker 1: surroundings Jackson Dart. He took a monster hit. Man like
- 1:55Speaker 1: Jackson Dart doesn't need the offensive line's help getting concussed,
- 1:58Speaker 1: and the offensive line in a preseason game just left
- 2:02Speaker 1: him wide open to get nailed by a linebacker and
- 2:06Speaker 1: he had to go to the blue tent. Why because
- 2:08Speaker 1: that's where he lives.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Yeah, the running back missed the block, clear miss there.
- 2:14Speaker 5: My problem with this there feels like it's a disingenuous narrative.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Around Dart because yes, he goes to the blue Tent
- 2:22Speaker 5: a lot, but he doesn't really have the concussion issues
- 2:26Speaker 5: where people are tweeting about it. This tweet comes from
- 2:29Speaker 5: rang Sharp. Jackson Dart has made five trips to the
- 2:31Speaker 5: blue medical tent in a ten game span last year,
- 2:34Speaker 5: one game into twenty twenty six. One trip to the
- 2:36Speaker 5: blue medical tent simply not sustainable on the surface. Yes,
- 2:41Speaker 5: Jackson Dart is making trips to the Blue medical Tent
- 2:45Speaker 5: a lot, but he's only he's been cleared five out
- 2:49Speaker 5: of those six times where he goes to the blue tent. Right,
- 2:52Speaker 5: and the narrative around Jackson Dart feels like Jackson Dart
- 2:55Speaker 5: has to change the way he has to play. Jackson
- 2:57Speaker 5: Dart is this fragile quarterback in New York. Do I
- 3:00Speaker 5: think he has to adjust the way he plays a bit? Yes,
- 3:02Speaker 5: because some of the times when he runs it is
- 3:04Speaker 5: a bit reckless where he's just throwing his body to
- 3:07Speaker 5: the wind. But he's not Tua. And while I get
- 3:11Speaker 5: player safety is the ultimate goal, I'm kind of with
- 3:14Speaker 5: Jackson Dart where the sound of Jackson Dart being like,
- 3:17Speaker 5: I'm just as puzzled as anybody else why I keep
- 3:20Speaker 5: going to the medical tent where we're at the stage
- 3:22Speaker 5: where if you make contact with Jackson Dart, it's an
- 3:25Speaker 5: automatic visit to the blue Tent.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I think he enjoys going there. I do like a retreat.
- 3:30Speaker 1: It's like a little home on the sideline for him.
- 3:32Speaker 1: He just hangs out in there. I mean, he's got
- 3:35Speaker 1: pictures of.
- 3:35Speaker 6: His family on the walls.
- 3:37Speaker 5: He hasn't like on Survivor, like a trick to the sanctuary.
- 3:41Speaker 1: He has a picture of the darts. Mikey, how do
- 3:48Speaker 1: you feel about this? By the way, what Taylor is
- 3:51Speaker 1: saying is he has a high percentage when he goes
- 3:53Speaker 1: into the blue tent. He is coming out of the
- 3:55Speaker 1: Blue tent just about every time and going right back
- 3:58Speaker 1: on that football field.
- 4:00Speaker 4: He's batting eight hundred in no concussion.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I get that, But at the same time, you just
- 4:05Speaker 3: can't take those hits so often.
- 4:08Speaker 4: You're saying, he's not like Tua ware every time.
- 4:10Speaker 3: But Tua wasn't like Tua until he was like, at
- 4:14Speaker 3: some point, you're gonna get one of those hits that's
- 4:16Speaker 3: going to open the floodgates to all of the other
- 4:19Speaker 3: concussions that can come.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But I think what Taylor is saying, and I kind
- 4:22Speaker 1: of agree with him on this, and Jackson is saying
- 4:24Speaker 1: it as well. I was surprised by the mobility of
- 4:28Speaker 1: Jackson Dark coming from Mississippi into the NFL. I was
- 4:31Speaker 1: not aware he could run and was as athletic as
- 4:34Speaker 1: he has shown here through one year in the NFL.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And I think what Taylor is trying to say is,
- 4:39Speaker 1: don't take that part of the game out of Jackson,
- 4:41Speaker 1: don't make him think too much. Let him just be
- 4:43Speaker 1: who he is and play quarterback because he appears to
- 4:46Speaker 1: be very good at it.
- 4:47Speaker 5: I mean, we're in a situation right now where every
- 4:50Speaker 5: spotter is on high alert every time Jackson Dart gets
- 4:53Speaker 5: hit where it's an automatic scent to the tent. And yes,
- 4:57Speaker 5: you're the NFL is trying to tech Jackson Dart. I
- 5:01Speaker 5: understand that, but taking him out of the game for
- 5:04Speaker 5: every time he gets touched where he's not getting hit
- 5:07Speaker 5: in the pocket more than the average quarterback, but he
- 5:10Speaker 5: is getting sent to the blue medical tent more. And
- 5:13Speaker 5: it's not like every time he's going he's getting he's
- 5:17Speaker 5: getting ruled out of the game with a concussion. He's
- 5:19Speaker 5: just coming back five plays later.
- 5:21Speaker 1: The NFL is not concerned about Just so we're clear,
- 5:23Speaker 1: not concerned about Jackson Dart. They're protecting themselves. They lost
- 5:27Speaker 1: a lawsuit. They lost the concussion lawsuit. It was hundreds
- 5:31Speaker 1: of millions of dollars paying all kinds of former players.
- 5:34Speaker 1: And of course they're gonna be cautious when it comes
- 5:36Speaker 1: to concussions and head injuries in the NFL. Literally, they're
- 5:39Speaker 1: losing money if it happens. I mean, guys are suing them.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Yes, My larger point is that I have a problem
- 5:44Speaker 5: with everybody saying that Jackson Dart has a concussion issue.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Just to be clear, if we want the right narrative out,
- 5:51Speaker 5: he has a blue tent issue.
- 5:54Speaker 4: He doesn't have a concussion issue yet.
- 5:57Speaker 3: But what he does have is he gets hit harder,
- 6:00Speaker 3: it seems than anyone.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Now.
- 6:02Speaker 3: He hasn't gotten the concussions, but there are a lot
- 6:04Speaker 3: of quarterbacks who have running as part of their game
- 6:07Speaker 3: that don't get hit the way he is getting hit. Like,
- 6:10Speaker 3: he has to learn how to get himself down in
- 6:14Speaker 3: a better way than he has been because right now
- 6:18Speaker 3: it is tee off on him and he's luckily not
- 6:21Speaker 3: getting the concussions at the rate that the NFL seems
- 6:25Speaker 3: to think he might be getting them, but he is
- 6:27Speaker 3: still getting hit harder than say a Patrick Mahomes or
- 6:31Speaker 3: a Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, all these guys who
- 6:35Speaker 3: run but don't get hit that way.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Yeah, but Mikey, don't you think there's something to it
- 6:39Speaker 5: where if Jackson Dart and Josh Allen both get hit
- 6:43Speaker 5: the same way, the people who are up there, who
- 6:47Speaker 5: are in charge of it, have more of a chance
- 6:50Speaker 5: of sending Jackson Dart to the blue tent because it
- 6:54Speaker 5: is Jackson Dart and we just, for some reason, just
- 6:57Speaker 5: keep sending him to the blue tent labor andover.
- 6:59Speaker 1: He has a history, Josh Allen does it. I mean,
- 7:01Speaker 1: I'm certain they're cautious with two as well, don't you think,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I mean Jackson Dart does. It's a short history. And
- 7:06Speaker 1: I granted he's walked into that blue tent six times
- 7:09Speaker 1: and five times he has come out and gone back
- 7:11Speaker 1: on the football field. But he does have issues with
- 7:14Speaker 1: head injuries. That's why they're being cautious, right.
- 7:17Speaker 5: I think he has the same amount of concussions as
- 7:20Speaker 5: somebody like Josh Allen.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Well, it's a.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Lot Allen's been playing for.
- 7:24Speaker 6: It's a lot shorter of a sample sizer.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Josh Allen goes into that blue tent. It's a cup
- 7:28Speaker 1: of coffee. I mean, I'm telling you it's a shot
- 7:31Speaker 1: of espresso. That guy is not in there for more
- 7:33Speaker 1: than thirty seconds. He walks in, gives someone a wink,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and he walked right back.
- 7:36Speaker 5: As he's not even giving somebody a wink. There's nobody
- 7:39Speaker 5: in that blue tent when Josh Allen, it's just him. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 5: it's the Homer Senson going in. And now like Josh
- 7:44Speaker 5: Allen just goes in, he signs his name in and
- 7:47Speaker 5: then he signs right back out.
- 7:49Speaker 4: He walks in and says, what the hell are the
- 7:50Speaker 4: darts doing hanging there?
- 7:51Speaker 1: And then he leaves. Is there a mailbox here? And
- 7:54Speaker 1: what are we doing with the blue tent being the
- 7:57Speaker 1: darts house? Do we have a mailbox that to say
- 7:59Speaker 1: that the arts on it is the mail? But I
- 8:01Speaker 1: guess everyone knows we're just send Jackson dart nail. So
- 8:04Speaker 1: let's get to winners and losers from a preseason week
- 8:07Speaker 1: number one. Wow exciting, oh wow football winners and losers.
- 8:14Speaker 6: So I have three winners and three losers.
- 8:17Speaker 1: No one really won and no one really lost. The
- 8:21Speaker 1: to you, I'm sorry.
- 8:24Speaker 5: I'll start with a winner. Wow, Fernando Mendoza.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Big time. He's good.
- 8:31Speaker 5: You could just look at Fernando Mendoza and right away, Stu,
- 8:35Speaker 5: he passes the eye test.
- 8:36Speaker 6: You look at him and you say that guy belongs.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yep, no doubt, Yes he belongs. Kirk Cousins is going
- 8:41Speaker 1: to be the weak one started though he played well,
- 8:43Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins. But I am with you on Mendoza. He
- 8:46Speaker 1: looked the part that's important.
- 8:48Speaker 5: My biggest loser yep. Cam Ward really yeah. So I
- 8:54Speaker 5: was hoping to see a step with cam Ward, and
- 8:57Speaker 5: that's what you really want to see in a second
- 8:59Speaker 5: year quarterback.
- 9:00Speaker 6: You want to see that step that they take.
- 9:01Speaker 1: It's a leap year. Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Is it a leap year or a step year?
- 9:04Speaker 1: He has to make a big lead. I don't know.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Put it on the poll. Is it a step year
- 9:08Speaker 1: or elite year for cam Ward?
- 9:09Speaker 6: And then when you're.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Watching cam Ward against the forty nine ers, the forty
- 9:13Speaker 5: nine ers rested as starters in the game, and Ward
- 9:16Speaker 5: was still five of twelve passing fifty seven yards fifty
- 9:19Speaker 5: six points six passer rating, And you guys are gonna
- 9:22Speaker 5: like this Titans play.
- 9:24Speaker 6: The Jets Week one. Yeah, I've now got that as
- 9:27Speaker 6: a Jets win.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I don't like that. Why would I like that?
- 9:31Speaker 4: Why would I like?
- 9:32Speaker 6: This Jets team is sneaky. You saw Garrett Wilson.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Garrett Wilson. Garrett Wilson's not going to be in my winners.
- 9:38Speaker 5: But Garrett Wilson is a winner.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Well, you can't be a winner and be on the Jets.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Put it on the poll. Can you be a winner
- 9:44Speaker 1: and be on the New York Jets.
- 9:46Speaker 6: You can't do it, Garrett Wilson. There, I believe Garrett
- 9:49Speaker 6: Wilson could be a top five.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers his entire career, winner, winner, clutch winner, winner,
- 9:54Speaker 1: get to the Jets bears the Achilles loser. I mean,
- 9:58Speaker 1: that's what happens when you go to the Jets. There
- 10:00Speaker 1: are no winners, just losers. Can't do it.
- 10:04Speaker 6: You guys are so down on this Jets team. Why
- 10:06Speaker 6: I like this Jets team forty years?
- 10:08Speaker 5: Yeah, but you know yesterday, Yesterday's team is not today's team, right.
- 10:13Speaker 5: The team is different. The twenty sixteen Jets have no
- 10:16Speaker 5: impact on the twenty twenty six Jets. It's a new
- 10:19Speaker 5: year for Aaron Glenn, who's probably gonna be the first
- 10:21Speaker 5: coach fired.
- 10:22Speaker 1: You're right there. Every year it's different, the team is different,
- 10:25Speaker 1: the results are exactly the same. Any other winners for
- 10:30Speaker 1: the weekend?
- 10:31Speaker 5: My next winner, the more.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Connection looks good, It looks really hate Savior.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Yes, I was thinking, is there a chance Dj Moore
- 10:42Speaker 5: could be the best receiver that Josh Allen has played with?
- 10:45Speaker 5: I know Stefan Diggs was great there and he said
- 10:46Speaker 5: a lot of franchise marks in Buffalo, but on paper,
- 10:50Speaker 5: talent wise, DJ Moore and Stefan Diggs go toe to
- 10:53Speaker 5: toe with each other.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Right, this is how it works, he is right now,
- 10:57Speaker 1: until they don't make it to the AFC Championship game
- 11:00Speaker 1: with the Super Bowl, and then it's DJ Moore's fault
- 11:02Speaker 1: and not Josh Allens. Is that fair, Mikey. That's usually
- 11:05Speaker 1: the way it works with Josh ally bringing another receiver,
- 11:09Speaker 1: someone better than Dj Moore.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Come on down, Michael Pittman, your next stop, all.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Right, give us another loser here before Drey Wing go.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Michael Lafleur, the Cardinals head coach, giving Jeremiah Love double
- 11:26Speaker 5: digit carries in a preseason game should be considered malpractice?
- 11:30Speaker 1: From coach put it on the poll. Uh, giving Jeremiah
- 11:33Speaker 1: Love double digit carries in a preseason game? Should he
- 11:37Speaker 1: be sued for malpractice?
- 11:39Speaker 4: You agree, Mikey, Yes, I agree with you.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I just wonder where Lafleur got his doctorate that he's getting, uh, malpractice,
- 11:46Speaker 3: getting malpractice.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Because you're looking at Jeremiah Love. Now he has a
- 11:49Speaker 5: high ankle spray and the Cardinals are left hoping he
- 11:51Speaker 5: can return in four weeks for a week one game
- 11:53Speaker 5: at the Chargers.
- 11:55Speaker 6: It's not looking that good to me.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That show us at the new toy. That's all it is.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It's like trying to just of it. No one thinks
- 12:00Speaker 1: you should take a running back in the first round.
- 12:02Speaker 1: They took one very high, and that's just kind of
- 12:04Speaker 1: justifying a pick that no one else thinks you should
- 12:06Speaker 1: have made.
- 12:07Speaker 3: That's all the best thing that could happen to the
- 12:09Speaker 3: Cardinals is he goes out for the year and then
- 12:11Speaker 3: they get two rookies next year, a quarterback and a
- 12:13Speaker 3: running back, and they're.
- 12:14Speaker 6: Like, hey, little slipper, we got now.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Carries.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yea, if you have three running backs, Mikey what does
- 12:21Speaker 1: that mean?
- 12:22Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I may I have one more loser.
- 12:27Speaker 5: The Bengals offensive line. Joe Burrow got folded like a
- 12:33Speaker 5: cheap lawn chair the second play of the game. Joe
- 12:37Speaker 5: Burrow's been sacked forty or more times three times in
- 12:40Speaker 5: his NFL career. The Bengals traded for Dexter Lawrence that
- 12:44Speaker 5: number ten pick. They could have gotten somebody like Francis maw.
- 12:47Speaker 5: We knowah that the Giants wound up drafting Wit said,
- 12:50Speaker 5: pick your most valuable asset. If you're the Cincinnati Bengals,
- 12:53Speaker 5: is Joe Burrow start acting like it?
- 12:58Speaker 4: But he wanted a line name.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Burrow wanted one.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Yeah, but if you're this Bengals team, you have to
- 13:04Speaker 5: kind of go in with the mindset we're gonna have
- 13:06Speaker 5: to score sixty points a game to win. You have
- 13:08Speaker 5: Joe Burrow, you have t Higgins, you have Jamar Chase.
- 13:11Speaker 5: Give Joe Burrow time in the pocket so he could
- 13:14Speaker 5: assess what he has to do to carry your defense.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Right. I think the Bengals are going to be fine.
- 13:19Speaker 1: They're my Super Bowl pick out of the AFC. How
- 13:21Speaker 1: about that terrible pick? I pick them every year.
- 13:23Speaker 6: I'm out the Chargers.
- 13:25Speaker 1: How about that, Mikey, do you have a winner or
- 13:27Speaker 1: a loser from the weekend? I know this wasn't your topic,
- 13:32Speaker 1: but do you have one anyway?
- 13:34Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 13:34Speaker 3: All the other New England states when they played Connecticut
- 13:37Speaker 3: in the Little League regional tournament.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I have a big winner, less Snead Sean McVay. They
- 13:43Speaker 1: took ty Simpson. No one thought they should have tooken
- 13:45Speaker 1: ty Simpson. Now they have their quarterback when Matthew Stafford
- 13:47Speaker 1: gets hurt, and they have their quarterback for the next
- 13:49Speaker 1: fifteen years. I mean, seriously, he's the MVP of the
- 13:52Speaker 1: preseason through Week one. How about that?
- 13:55Speaker 5: It's crazy. It's crazy to see when a team runs
- 13:58Speaker 5: itself like a.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Organization, well with forward thinking.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Yeah, just like it's just like a system, like we
- 14:06Speaker 5: just draft the next guy. We churn out great players,
- 14:09Speaker 5: we trade out picks, and we replace them.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Which is exactly why me and Mikey are frustrated with
- 14:15Speaker 1: the Jets. Who's starting a quarterback for the Jets this year? Gino,
- 14:21Speaker 1: a guy that was terrible for them twelve years ago. Okay,
- 14:25Speaker 1: club Nick, that's my guy.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Live Weekday, said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
- 14:35Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Thank you there, Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 2: you the guy with the spreadsheet pretending to work.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Do you find yourself needing a picking up as you're
- 14:50Speaker 1: dragging and your cubicles start the week?
- 14:54Speaker 2: Are you ready to put the sports back in sports talk? Well,
- 14:59Speaker 2: then you're in luck because every Monday we climbed the mountain,
- 15:04Speaker 2: We talked the legends, and we argue about.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Things the truth you just can't handle the truth.
- 15:11Speaker 2: That absolutely do not matter and are completely subjective. This
- 15:16Speaker 2: is Mount Rushmore Monday, Monday.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It is Mount Rushmore Monday. We ten observations coming up
- 15:26Speaker 1: in about fifteen minutes. Here is he is off today,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but we move along, move forward with a Mount Rushmore Monday.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Is he has a better chance of winning not being
- 15:35Speaker 1: here than he does if he were here. How about that?
- 15:38Speaker 1: In honor of Massachusetts Day, did you guys know today
- 15:41Speaker 1: is Massachusetts Day? Did you know that?
- 15:43Speaker 6: Nope?
- 15:43Speaker 1: Well, in honor of Massachusetts Day, Mount Rushmore of athletes
- 15:49Speaker 1: who played at one point in their career in the
- 15:52Speaker 1: state of Massachusetts. How about that?
- 15:56Speaker 6: Do we have a draft order?
- 15:57Speaker 1: I don't know do we How about that him first?
- 16:01Speaker 6: He's picking second.
- 16:02Speaker 5: Stuve's got the snake picks? Uh with the one to
- 16:05Speaker 5: one pick. Anytime you get a chance to get the goat,
- 16:08Speaker 5: you do it. Tom Brady, easy, easy, peasy, racing.
- 16:12Speaker 6: To get their cards.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Yep, we gotta we gotta do this quickly. And Dan
- 16:17Speaker 1: Buyer is off and Chris is judging today, and I
- 16:19Speaker 1: don't feel comfortable about that, but anyway, go ahead, Mikey.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Uh number two pick, give me Larry Legend, give me
- 16:25Speaker 3: gimme Larry Bird, every.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Bird really.
- 16:29Speaker 6: That bird snake picks too?
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I got it. Jim Craig is going to be
- 16:33Speaker 1: my first one. I mean he was the goal league
- 16:36Speaker 1: for the I got your nineteen to eighty hockey terrible pick?
- 16:41Speaker 1: How was that a terrible pick?
- 16:48Speaker 6: Really horrific?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Want me to change it? Nope?
- 16:51Speaker 6: Nope, No, it's in pen too late?
- 16:54Speaker 1: What do you mean? It's in penn?
- 16:54Speaker 6: I actually down? Actually sharp?
- 16:57Speaker 4: Who wrote it down? I wrote it down, Christy?
- 17:00Speaker 5: So TikTok's due. It's a coin flip now between me
- 17:04Speaker 5: and Mikey Chris.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Today. All right, I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go
- 17:12Speaker 1: with Poppy Big Poppy David Ortiz. There we go, Jim Craig,
- 17:16Speaker 1: David Ortiz from.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Me, I'm I'm gonna take uh, babe.
- 17:23Speaker 6: This one. This is a terrible pick too.
- 17:25Speaker 1: That's a great one. How is that a terrible?
- 17:27Speaker 6: A cup of coffee?
- 17:28Speaker 1: He had a couple of coffee with he played in box.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I didn't know it was I didn't know it was.
- 17:32Speaker 3: How what they did there?
- 17:35Speaker 6: Should I just picked Shack on the Celtic. No, I'm
- 17:38Speaker 6: gonna pick Ted.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Williams, the splendid Splinter.
- 17:41Speaker 5: And then with my snake pick coming around, I'm gonna
- 17:44Speaker 5: diversify my sports.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Bobby or wow, I am losing.
- 17:52Speaker 1: What do you got?
- 17:53Speaker 6: I'll take Pedro good pick, way better than.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Between.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'll take Ray Bork good pick. And then the guy
- 18:04Speaker 1: went to Colorado won a Stanley Cup there. They had
- 18:06Speaker 1: a parade for him in Boston. Here here I'll go
- 18:15Speaker 1: yeazz as my fourth song pick, Thank you too? Who
- 18:19Speaker 1: was that? Who was that?
- 18:20Speaker 4: For your fourth?
- 18:20Speaker 6: Yes?
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yes?
- 18:23Speaker 4: Okay? Uh?
- 18:24Speaker 3: From my fourth I'm gonna take Randy Moss terrible.
- 18:31Speaker 5: I can't believe I'm getting this pick in the fourth round.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Bill Russell, Oh.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Wow, that's a great pick forgot Bill Russell.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I wanted I wanted to mix up the sports, and.
- 18:44Speaker 5: I think you can make you the argument Tom Brady,
- 18:46Speaker 5: Ted Williams, Bobby or Bill Russell is the Mount Rushmore
- 18:49Speaker 5: of Boston sports.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Well, that's up to Chris, I believe be sure. I'm
- 18:55Speaker 1: sure Jim Craig's not on there. All right, Chris, give
- 18:57Speaker 1: us a third place, second place?
- 19:00Speaker 7: Well, okay, you want, you want all the places, you
- 19:03Speaker 7: want all the places.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I mean, Taylor's running away with it.
- 19:05Speaker 7: We didn't even get Kevin Garnett on this list anywhere
- 19:09Speaker 7: after that, after that, Mikey, because there's no rules. There's
- 19:12Speaker 7: no rules whatsoever about length of time, Babe Ruth and
- 19:16Speaker 7: putting Randy Mawson there. I think elevates at Stu Gotts
- 19:18Speaker 7: comes in third and you're winner by technical knockout.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Israel Good Tierras who's.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Not even here. Chris hates the United States. I mean
- 19:35Speaker 1: that's I mean, Jim Craig, how was that a bad pick?
- 19:38Speaker 1: He played at BU? He's from Massachusetts, He's the most
- 19:42Speaker 1: famous goalie in the history of hockey.
- 19:44Speaker 5: I think you could have taken Bob Coosey, Gronk, Paul Pierce, Patruth, berger.
- 19:49Speaker 6: On Garnett, any of these head of Jim Craig.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 19:56Speaker 2: live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm.
- 20:02Speaker 1: We'll get to do me a favor here in just
- 20:03Speaker 1: a second hour. Thanks to Jason Hare for joining us
- 20:06Speaker 1: in that last segment. Mike yea, what'd you make of
- 20:09Speaker 1: Taylor's pitch there to have Miracle on Ice be a
- 20:12Speaker 1: Broadway play? I mean, it's ridiculous.
- 20:17Speaker 4: It's not ridiculous.
- 20:18Speaker 3: It is a moneymaker that I am surprised that we
- 20:21Speaker 3: haven't done. I mean al Michael's singing do you believe
- 20:26Speaker 3: in miracle? Like that's your headliner.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Right there, right yes?
- 20:29Speaker 4: Like do you believe ben?
- 20:31Speaker 1: Wow? Oh wow?
- 20:32Speaker 4: Look at him. He's a performer, he's a party starter.
- 20:36Speaker 5: And I also want a spot in the in the play, Mikey,
- 20:38Speaker 5: I'm lynn Manuel Marinush.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I mean, he took eighty twenty from the guy he
- 20:42Speaker 1: didn't even hear it, snuck it in there.
- 20:44Speaker 4: I want to play a Russian. I want to play
- 20:45Speaker 4: a Russian.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Taylor, never start negotiations with fifty to fifty, all right,
- 20:49Speaker 1: let him bring you to fifty to fifty don't start
- 20:51Speaker 1: at fifty to fifty.
- 20:52Speaker 5: You know, yeah, I got a little star truck because
- 20:54Speaker 5: he directed the last dance, and I just I've had
- 20:57Speaker 5: this idea that it would translate so well to broad
- 21:00Speaker 5: Way that I just wanted to try to get it
- 21:02Speaker 5: to life. So that's why I went in with fifty
- 21:04Speaker 5: to fifty.
- 21:06Speaker 1: He was being nice, though, right, I mean, there's no
- 21:07Speaker 1: way he likes I don't know like he liked it,
- 21:09Speaker 1: and Mikey, hey, loves it. Can I hear you sing
- 21:11Speaker 1: that again?
- 21:12Speaker 4: Forget about how.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Michael believe me, recalls me, recalls on us. Let's get
- 21:21Speaker 1: to do me a favor. Give me the music. I
- 21:28Speaker 1: don't want to recording him you singing that for the
- 21:30Speaker 1: remaxer just on a loop.
- 21:33Speaker 6: I'm gonna start writing this music. If being Mikey.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Shake ky jiggling, yes, but now I want Mikey to
- 21:38Speaker 1: actually voice it, not out Michael's get out of here.
- 21:41Speaker 6: Mikey's my star. I'm riding this cash count to the
- 21:44Speaker 6: finish line.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Are all right? What do you got here? I'll do
- 21:47Speaker 1: me a favorite, Tell do me a favor.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Enough with AP preseason polls, I am so over them.
- 21:54Speaker 5: They mean absolutely nothing for AP Preseason Poll comes out today.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Eighteen of the last nineteen polls have had at least
- 22:02Speaker 5: one preseason Top ten team finish the season on rank.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Exactly half of AP preseason Top twenty five teams the
- 22:09Speaker 5: past two years end of the season on rank.
- 22:11Speaker 6: They mean absolutely nothing.
- 22:13Speaker 5: You don't have to look any further than last year
- 22:15Speaker 5: they said Penn State and Clemson were to top five
- 22:19Speaker 5: teams in the AP Preseason Poll.
- 22:21Speaker 6: Both stunk.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You need like a I understand what you're saying. But
- 22:27Speaker 1: if we all know they're nonsense and mean nothing, who cares.
- 22:30Speaker 1: It's benign. It's an AP pole be starting point.
- 22:32Speaker 6: That's all.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Nobody goes into it with them saying that it's nonsense
- 22:35Speaker 5: because last year everybody was like, man, here comes Kate
- 22:38Speaker 5: Clubnick and this Clemson team, And this is how you
- 22:41Speaker 5: could tell people don't watch college football, that only watch
- 22:44Speaker 5: the NFL. If you're trying to convince yourself today that
- 22:46Speaker 5: Drew Aller and Kate Clubnick are gonna be good NFL quarterbacks,
- 22:49Speaker 5: that's how I know. You didn't watch them play at
- 22:51Speaker 5: Penn State in Clemson.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Respect me, but if you do, you're a Jet fan.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what you are right, but Aler was coached
- 22:57Speaker 1: by James Franklin.
- 22:58Speaker 5: I mean that's the one I'm willing to go back
- 23:01Speaker 5: on a little because Aler has always had the tools
- 23:05Speaker 5: to put it all together. Now, if you're giving him
- 23:07Speaker 5: Mike McCarthy and he's sitting behind Aaron Rodgers and learning, okay,
- 23:11Speaker 5: I'm a little more willing to forgive Drew Aller for
- 23:14Speaker 5: being an absolute disaster in Happy Valley.
- 23:16Speaker 4: All Right, I'm sorry because Dabo Sweeney is.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Just a plethora quarterback, which high end quarterbacks, because I
- 23:24Speaker 3: mean Trevor Lawrence, we're still asking if he's any good.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Yes, funny that you should mention that Mina Kaimes has
- 23:30Speaker 5: Trevor Lawrence as her sneaky MVP pick.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Really she's wrong.
- 23:34Speaker 4: I mean it's really sneaky. It's like too sneaky.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I mean, no one knows more football than Mina. I'm serious,
- 23:41Speaker 1: But he's wrong on this one. That's where I draw
- 23:43Speaker 1: the line.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Do me a favor, Mina pick somebody else.
- 23:46Speaker 4: I was gonna use that, all right, I'll go, all right,
- 23:51Speaker 4: what do you got?
- 23:53Speaker 3: As Taylor did? One that happens every year. I will
- 23:55Speaker 3: also bring one that happens every year at this time.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Do me a favor. I don't care about your fantasy
- 24:00Speaker 3: team like I care about my fantasy team. I don't
- 24:03Speaker 3: care about my fantasy league. I don't care about yours.
- 24:06Speaker 3: This is draft season. Everybody's picking their guys. And I
- 24:09Speaker 3: got a friend who calls me. He's like, hey, hey, hey,
- 24:11Speaker 3: gets who I got in the third round?
- 24:12Speaker 4: Guess what? I don't care. Do me a favor. Keep
- 24:15Speaker 4: it to yourself.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 24:17Speaker 6: I'm with you there.
- 24:19Speaker 5: Really couldn't care less about your bets, couldn't care less
- 24:22Speaker 5: about your fantasy football team.
- 24:23Speaker 3: So why don't we share your or your golf handicap
- 24:26Speaker 3: or your poker hands. I don't care about any of
- 24:28Speaker 3: them unless I am directly involved.
- 24:31Speaker 1: This is all I have. Though, you take the hint
- 24:34Speaker 1: you don't care about me.
- 24:35Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, the guy who walks in and like,
- 24:38Speaker 5: look at this parlay I hit for fifty dollars this weekend.
- 24:41Speaker 6: Okay, buddy, I don't care.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Tell me about all.
- 24:44Speaker 4: How many did you miss to get here?
- 24:46Speaker 6: Yeah, give me a favor.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Look at this parlay I won. I'm still down two
- 24:49Speaker 1: thousand dollars.
- 24:50Speaker 5: In favor, and shove that ticket where the sun doesn't shine, buddy.
- 24:56Speaker 1: You're thirty one years old.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Man, I use buddy alarmingly high rate. What happened, I
- 25:05Speaker 5: couldn't remember what the word rate was.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I mean I use buddy as well. That's because I
- 25:09Speaker 1: can't remember anyone's name, and so everyone is buddy to me.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I mean, you're up, pal, Do me a favor. Everyone
- 25:18Speaker 1: stop telling me that I can't get excited about preseason football.
- 25:24Speaker 1: We wait for football. We talk about waiting for football,
- 25:28Speaker 1: we talk about how much we miss football. I don't
- 25:30Speaker 1: care that the games don't matter. It's football, and it's
- 25:34Speaker 1: being played on a football field, and it's on my TV.
- 25:37Speaker 1: And this is the way I do preseason. I told
- 25:39Speaker 1: Chris Simms this last week. Okay, I have it on,
- 25:43Speaker 1: so I feel good that football is on. I peek
- 25:46Speaker 1: over to one of the TVs and Drew Aller standing there,
- 25:48Speaker 1: and he looks the part and he passes the sniff test.
- 25:51Speaker 1: And you know what, I say to myself, hmm maybe.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And I gotta tell you something.
- 26:01Speaker 4: I enjoy the hell out of doing that. I really do.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I enjoy looking at a television screen not knowing who
- 26:07Speaker 1: the guy is, not knowing that the Steelers drafted a
- 26:09Speaker 1: guy who was projected as a top five pick before
- 26:13Speaker 1: last year started. I look at him. I see him
- 26:15Speaker 1: at quarterback. I see him in the uniform, I see
- 26:18Speaker 1: him in the Steelers jersey, and I say to myself.
- 26:22Speaker 5: Stude to your credit, and Drew Aller leads the league
- 26:25Speaker 5: and looking the part.
- 26:26Speaker 6: He does look the part.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Really, that's part of Drew Holler's downfall at past State
- 26:32Speaker 5: because everybody would look at him once he puts on
- 26:34Speaker 5: a jersey and he's like, my god, Wow, that guy
- 26:36Speaker 5: looks like he can sling it.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Yeah, Mikey, how do you feel about preseason? It's fun
- 26:41Speaker 1: doing that. I watch a quarterback Hayinesking, and I say, huh.
- 26:45Speaker 4: I have not watched one snap, and I won't watch
- 26:48Speaker 4: one snap.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Because because the problem is it is not at all football,
- 26:54Speaker 3: it is it is a padded practice, padded practice.
- 26:58Speaker 1: When he watches the to lose, he wants them, watches
- 27:01Speaker 1: them lose for real,
