Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Postgame show.
- 0:02Speaker 2: It is presented by Box One, Scotty Brown, Air, krat
- 0:07Speaker 2: Aj Prazinski. Dodgers go up three zero in the NLCS
- 0:11Speaker 2: one went away from a World Series appearance and they
- 0:15Speaker 2: are trying to become the first team to win back
- 0:17Speaker 2: to back World Series title in a quarter century. Okay,
- 0:21Speaker 2: so Dodgers win a close game. Brewers can't score. Dodgers
- 0:27Speaker 2: pitching is dominant. Starting pitching continues to dominate. Mean, Aj,
- 0:33Speaker 2: you saw this when you won a World Series title
- 0:35Speaker 2: in two thousand and five. We have Snell, we have
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yamamoto and Glass Night. I didn't go as deep into
- 0:42Speaker 2: these games, but he also was quite dominant for them.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I mean, what was my what was my lock today?
- 0:51Speaker 3: Glass now five and a half punches? I said he
- 0:53Speaker 3: get eight or nine? He got eight? Right? I mean
- 0:55Speaker 3: that was like huh. In the shadows, I mean, it
- 0:57Speaker 3: couldn't talk about the shadows anymore if they tried on.
- 1:00Speaker 3: So I mean, you know, I mean it was like,
- 1:02Speaker 3: oh this before the first pitch, They're like, man, look
- 1:04Speaker 3: at these shadows. There wouldn't even a shadows. But I mean,
- 1:07Speaker 3: come on, and it just proves listen. Starting pitching wins
- 1:11Speaker 3: the Brewers are trying to be cute. They're using their opener.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It didn't work, Tyler Glass. Now you know Ashby gave
- 1:16Speaker 3: up one run, Why not just start Miserowski and he's
- 1:20Speaker 3: doing one hundred and two. If he's going to give
- 1:22Speaker 3: you five innings, why not just start him. He was
- 1:24Speaker 3: making the Dodgers look until the fifth inning he was in,
- 1:27Speaker 3: they couldn't touch him. Why not just let him start.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I don't understand. We're trying to be cute. We want
- 1:32Speaker 3: to be cute, we want to be cute. Just start
- 1:34Speaker 3: the guy. Let it. Let's see what he's got. I mean,
- 1:36Speaker 3: if he could do this for five innings and keep
- 1:38Speaker 3: him to zero, maybe he got a chance. But you
- 1:41Speaker 3: give up the run in the first, the Dodger crowd
- 1:42Speaker 3: gets behind it. I know they tied it at one,
- 1:44Speaker 3: but it just seemed like the Dodgers are never gonna
- 1:46Speaker 3: lose this game.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Yeah, they were, they were in control. I get it,
- 1:51Speaker 4: it was tied. Misowski did awesome. The Dodgers just always
- 1:56Speaker 4: Dodgers offense always keeps them in the game. And obviously
- 1:58Speaker 4: they're starting pitching. Is just they're just on another planet
- 2:02Speaker 4: right now. But what's what AJ is saying about being
- 2:07Speaker 4: cute with it, like this is a team and people
- 2:10Speaker 4: are gonna argue with me that they said, Wow, you
- 2:12Speaker 4: know you didn't face Yamamoto, Snell or Glass. Now when
- 2:16Speaker 4: you swept the Dodgers earlier. You're right, You're right you didn't.
- 2:20Speaker 4: But you also didn't have an opener to pitch any
- 2:22Speaker 4: of those games. Why do we feel like you have
- 2:26Speaker 4: to change up It's not even changing up the mojo,
- 2:28Speaker 4: it's changing up the rhythm of the game. How does
- 2:31Speaker 4: this rhythm of the game and the playoffs? How does
- 2:35Speaker 4: it change from the from the regular season. It changes
- 2:39Speaker 4: if you allow it to change. If you don't allow
- 2:41Speaker 4: it to change, you're just taking another at bat against
- 2:44Speaker 4: another big league pitcher. All of them are good big
- 2:47Speaker 4: league pitchers. You're not gonna face any clunkers. Why change
- 2:52Speaker 4: everything up because you think there's a slight advantage, Like
- 2:56Speaker 4: if Aaron Ashby's gonna go out there and he's gonna throw,
- 3:00Speaker 4: he's gonna just strike everybody out. Yeah, obviously you're gonna
- 3:04Speaker 4: you're gonna get him to face the top of the order.
- 3:06Speaker 4: You're gonna get him to face the highest leverage inting
- 3:09Speaker 4: as you can. But that's not the case. You're still
- 3:12Speaker 4: you still have a picture that has to face tough hitters.
- 3:14Speaker 4: If Missowski's gonna get all those outs, the analytics say, well,
- 3:18Speaker 4: you don't want them to face them three times. Okay,
- 3:22Speaker 4: figure that out in the moment. But why change what's
- 3:25Speaker 4: been working for you and made you the best team,
- 3:28Speaker 4: the best record in the regular season when you get
- 3:32Speaker 4: to the playoffs. To me, it's a little panic move,
- 3:35Speaker 4: but it's kind of on par so nobody loses their job.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Nobody's questioning it because everybody else does it. Well sometimes
- 3:43Speaker 4: not at what everybody else does works. Look at the Dodgers.
- 3:46Speaker 3: No, listen, here's my things. It's the front offs trying
- 3:50Speaker 3: to be too cute and they tell people we gotta
- 3:52Speaker 3: do this and we got to do that, and it
- 3:54Speaker 3: hasn't worked. It hasn't worked in this series twice now
- 3:56Speaker 3: they've lost both games they've started. They also lost the
- 3:58Speaker 3: game where Freddie pearltz started. And listen, I'll be no
- 4:01Speaker 3: offense to Ashby, but he's not exactly known for throwing
- 4:04Speaker 3: a lot of strikes. So if you could give him
- 4:06Speaker 3: advantageous matchups out of the bullpen, he's usually been better
- 4:10Speaker 3: than he was because he was a starter. Let's not forget.
- 4:13Speaker 3: And Misarowski has started too, and yes he's been better
- 4:15Speaker 3: out of the bullpen, but it's just it's it's hard
- 4:19Speaker 3: for me to believe. And I said this earlier on
- 4:20Speaker 3: foul Territory that the team that had the best record
- 4:23Speaker 3: in baseball has started an opener two of the first
- 4:27Speaker 3: three games of the LCS Quinn Priester who they won?
- 4:30Speaker 3: How many games they won? Nineteen games? And starts in
- 4:32Speaker 3: a row of his he didn't start, they used the opener.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Do you not believe in your guy enough to have
- 4:37Speaker 3: him start the first inning? Or are we trying to
- 4:39Speaker 3: be too cute? That's all I want to know, because
- 4:41Speaker 3: it seems like we're trying to be too cute.
- 4:46Speaker 1: First that no business being here. Let's be real. Flukeass
- 4:49Speaker 1: year from Nando and.
- 4:52Speaker 3: A dogar fan, that's not lie.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Openers are a testament to Tani despite his struggles. Hey,
- 4:58Speaker 2: Otani has had back to back games with big hits.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I mean he did come through with a triple. It
- 5:03Speaker 2: wasn't the prettiest right. Everyone's sitting there aj looking for
- 5:07Speaker 2: that Otani sweet swing and all the power that he brings.
- 5:10Speaker 1: But that was a big two strike triple. At least
- 5:13Speaker 1: they get a sixth that was in the regular season.
- 5:15Speaker 4: That just goes to show you what the regular season means, right,
- 5:18Speaker 4: But yeah, you're right.
- 5:19Speaker 3: He got the triple to get him going. He got
- 5:21Speaker 3: him on the board one nothing and the opener failed
- 5:23Speaker 3: to work. And guess when Misarowski came in. What the
- 5:25Speaker 3: fourth batter of the game or whatever it was. He
- 5:27Speaker 3: can't he was in in the first inning. I just
- 5:30Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't. I don't know that I
- 5:33Speaker 3: love the opener. I mean, I get why some teams
- 5:36Speaker 3: do it, but man, we're in the LCS, man, like,
- 5:39Speaker 3: I don't know. Listen, they're smarter than me. I'm just
- 5:42Speaker 3: saying I don't. They're down three to zero, and then
- 5:44Speaker 3: two of the three games have been started by guy,
- 5:46Speaker 3: a guy who hasn't started for him a whole lot
- 5:48Speaker 3: this whole year.
- 5:49Speaker 4: And there's a reason why. Because he couldn't throw enough
- 5:51Speaker 4: strikes and he was getting hit, so they put him
- 5:52Speaker 4: in the bullpen.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Two things.
- 5:55Speaker 2: First off, props to MLB perfect inating twenty five. Just
- 5:58Speaker 2: want to shout them out there, giving a little wallpaper
- 6:00Speaker 2: as we chat, showing you those player cards. But wait,
- 6:04Speaker 2: there's more. Jose Kintana is going to be a big
- 6:08Speaker 2: factor in game four. But I'm trying to go through
- 6:11Speaker 2: as many of the quotes from Murph and from anyone
- 6:14Speaker 2: else connected to the Brewers before the game, and it
- 6:17Speaker 2: sounded like Kintana showing up to the ballpark thinking he
- 6:20Speaker 2: was going to be a factor in game three. And
- 6:23Speaker 2: I get it, always be ready. But here we can
- 6:26Speaker 2: add on again. Aj Kintana is a starter, a veteran starter.
- 6:31Speaker 3: You caught him right, who's been good? I caught his debut.
- 6:35Speaker 1: We're messing with him though he does.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Dude, he's showing up today thinking, oh, this is my day.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Let me prep myself. I'm going to give the team
- 6:42Speaker 2: five innings. Then it's like, nah, just kidding out of
- 6:44Speaker 2: mar And I know he's not the only one. Sometimes
- 6:46Speaker 2: teams wait to see who's going to start with games.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But this is like an unnecessary component in my mind.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's becoming too much, and I think it's catching up
- 6:53Speaker 2: to them.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I'll tell you why, because why was Miserowski not Kintana
- 6:57Speaker 3: Because they started a lefty trying to mess with the dogs. Well,
- 7:00Speaker 3: the Dodgers aren't that dumb that they're not. They're not
- 7:04Speaker 3: trading out most of their lineup honestly at this point,
- 7:07Speaker 3: because they knew that somebody was coming in after him.
- 7:09Speaker 4: So what did Dave Roberts just one of those normal nine?
- 7:11Speaker 4: I mean, it's the same nine guys all the time.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I just I don't I don't know. I mean, it's
- 7:16Speaker 3: it's it's a strange, strange thing to me that this
- 7:20Speaker 3: is where we're at, but it is what we are
- 7:22Speaker 3: in baseball, and teams are trying it. But yeah, you
- 7:24Speaker 3: know they went to Ashby for for the first guys
- 7:26Speaker 3: in the lineup, and Misserowski was in the first and
- 7:29Speaker 3: then why not bring Kinton in? Well, they had to
- 7:31Speaker 3: save somebody for tomorrow, So why not just start jose Kintan?
- 7:34Speaker 3: Are they gonna Are they gonna pitch a righty to
- 7:36Speaker 3: start the game tomorrow to try to mess with the Dodgers?
- 7:39Speaker 3: Guess what? It's still gonna be show. Hey, it's still
- 7:41Speaker 3: gonna be Mookie, it's still gonna be Tao, it's still
- 7:43Speaker 3: gonna be Freddie, It's still gonna be Will Smith. So
- 7:46Speaker 3: I don't know what to do.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And also at this point, I don't want to say,
- 7:49Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. You got to still win another game
- 7:51Speaker 2: if you're Los Angeles. But the Dodgers are up three
- 7:54Speaker 2: out look at the history books, it doesn't really happen.
- 8:00Speaker 2: This is not the two thousand and four Red Sox
- 8:02Speaker 2: suddenly over in Milwaukee, unless they're all ripping shots before
- 8:06Speaker 2: the game suddenly tomorrow. And actually, speaking of which, the
- 8:10Speaker 2: dude who's barely old enough to drink looked pretty hurt.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Mid A B.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Jackson Churio, who's been one of the bright spots for
- 8:18Speaker 2: them offensively. He had the homer in the last game
- 8:20Speaker 2: and Krats, it looks like he's pretty banged up with
- 8:23Speaker 2: that hamstring. He hopped right off the field, very emotional.
- 8:27Speaker 2: He's been hurt too, and he's still contributing at a
- 8:30Speaker 2: high level for them. But they said he can't even
- 8:31Speaker 2: bend that knee. The hamstring has been a big problem
- 8:34Speaker 2: for him since Game one of the DS and he's
- 8:37Speaker 2: trucking through it. I mean, he'd be on the injured
- 8:39Speaker 2: list if this was the regular season, for.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Sure, because they wouldn't want him to injure it worse
- 8:44Speaker 4: and miss more games. But hey, it's not the regular season,
- 8:47Speaker 4: so the Brewers aren't doing things like the regular season,
- 8:49Speaker 4: so let's throw him out there, bad hamstring at all.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Let's just do like, like, don't deviate from what makes
- 8:57Speaker 4: it makes you go. But I don't, man, I hope it.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I hope it's a cramp. I hope it was. Like
- 9:04Speaker 4: french he was saying like, ah, maybe that's a cramp,
- 9:06Speaker 4: but I don't think he'd come out of the game
- 9:09Speaker 4: for a cramp. I mean, he was like he was
- 9:12Speaker 4: hopping off the field. That that's a huge loss, and
- 9:15Speaker 4: especially a team that's not hitting.
- 9:17Speaker 3: That ain't no cramp. Cramps, that ain't no cramp. Listen,
- 9:20Speaker 3: I seen dudes with cramps that ain't no cramp. Because
- 9:23Speaker 3: if it was a cramp, they would have had him
- 9:24Speaker 3: on the ground, they would have stretched him. He tried,
- 9:26Speaker 3: he actually tried to stretch himself, if you remember watching it,
- 9:29Speaker 3: and then he did he ran off the field even faster.
- 9:32Speaker 3: That's what was crazy. He was he was like trying
- 9:34Speaker 3: to stretch it, and everyone, you know, Frenchy and Ron Darling,
- 9:37Speaker 3: you know in the post, was trying to say that,
- 9:39Speaker 3: you know, he had to stretch his hamstring, and uh,
- 9:43Speaker 3: all of a sudden, as soon as he tried to
- 9:44Speaker 3: stretch it. He he hopped off the field, and you
- 9:47Speaker 3: know what, I hate to say this about a fan base,
- 9:49Speaker 3: but why were the Dodger fans booing like there was
- 9:51Speaker 3: booing going on? Because because he was hurt? Like I was,
- 9:54Speaker 3: I was a little bit. I wasn't very happy about that.
- 9:56Speaker 3: I mean, the guy was clearly hurt, and you know
- 9:58Speaker 3: they're booing him. I didn't. I didn't. Maybe they didn't
- 10:00Speaker 3: know what was going on. I'm gonna give him benefit
- 10:02Speaker 3: of the dow, but that was a bad.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Look you're saying when he was testing himself.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Out off the field. If you go back and listen
- 10:08Speaker 3: to it, there were booze coming out of the crowd,
- 10:10Speaker 3: which is is not cool because the guy's really hurt.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, they wouldn't be the first fan base
- 10:17Speaker 2: to do that, but yes, it's it's not the move
- 10:20Speaker 2: when someone's out, And technically for Dodger fans, I mean,
- 10:24Speaker 2: that definitely.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Helps the cause he's arguably the best bat on the team.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Oh do it though?
- 10:31Speaker 1: Him out of the mix definitely hurts.
- 10:33Speaker 3: So Jimenez again, just by the way, Sorry, I know
- 10:36Speaker 3: we're talking about one.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Game, but a lot of people are going to see
- 10:38Speaker 2: this in the morning. But yes, we will talk all
- 10:41Speaker 2: about ALCS tomorrow since we're not doing a postgame show
- 10:45Speaker 2: for that one. But I do want to remind everyone
- 10:46Speaker 2: too that's watching at the moment, because we're still going
- 10:48Speaker 2: to go for a little bit. If you're watching right
- 10:50Speaker 2: now and you don't usually watch us, please subscribe to
- 10:52Speaker 2: Foul Territory.
- 10:53Speaker 1: That'd be cool.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Appreciate that we're doing a lot of these postgame shows.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Our crew is hustling. We're hustling. We're on one o'clock
- 10:59Speaker 2: Eastern every single day all year long, and we're doing
- 11:03Speaker 2: a lot of these postgame shows. Will continue to do them,
- 11:05Speaker 2: of course into the World Series as well. All right,
- 11:08Speaker 2: let's keep going here. AJ Dodger offense not explosive today,
- 11:14Speaker 2: but enough.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Douse enough. They just always don't They always just seem
- 11:18Speaker 3: to do enough. I mean, Arrive had the air that
- 11:20Speaker 3: gave him the third run. But Tommy Emmon with the
- 11:23Speaker 3: huge hit and the sixth inning like off a lefty
- 11:27Speaker 3: or was it no, sorry I'm missed. Sorry, I bet
- 11:29Speaker 3: the key was the two walks right before Edmon got
- 11:31Speaker 3: up the two walks, but the guys in the scoring
- 11:33Speaker 3: position Edmon got the hit, great base running by Freddy
- 11:36Speaker 3: Freeman to go first to third. Then Arriva had to
- 11:39Speaker 3: throw over to Edmund. He threw it away and Freddy
- 11:41Speaker 3: score fast. Freddy Freeman. If you don't know, you should know. Uh,
- 11:45Speaker 3: but yeah, I mean the key was the walks by Mizerowski.
- 11:47Speaker 3: He'd been so good before that too, and he walked
- 11:50Speaker 3: will Smith, he walked Freddy and then all of a sudden,
- 11:52Speaker 3: Edmund kind of slashed that ball to center. Next thing
- 11:55Speaker 3: you know, it's two to one, then it's three to one,
- 11:56Speaker 3: and then the Dodgers' bullpen man give them a ton
- 11:58Speaker 3: of credit. Boy, I mean, Sazaki, he looks filthy. Vesia
- 12:01Speaker 3: did his job, trying to look like playoff Blake trying in.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I mean, Bonda came in and did a nice job.
- 12:06Speaker 3: It was it was it was lockdown from them, and
- 12:09Speaker 3: let's not forget Glass now. It was pretty damn good too.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah, there's I mean, what else can you say.
- 12:18Speaker 3: There's just a.
- 12:22Speaker 4: There's a air of like you're playing against two of
- 12:24Speaker 4: the best team, two of the best teams left in
- 12:27Speaker 4: the National League, and there's very small margin for air,
- 12:31Speaker 4: and the Dodgers just don't make that small margin for air,
- 12:36Speaker 4: and so that's what puts them over the top. Max Months,
- 12:39Speaker 4: he's playing the second inning, second anywhere, run around thirty
- 12:44Speaker 4: love to his left to be able to make that
- 12:47Speaker 4: throw home. Normally a guy dives to his left there.
- 12:51Speaker 4: You know what, I just don't don't rush it. I'm
- 12:54Speaker 4: just gonna go to first, gets up, throws home. Beautiful
- 12:59Speaker 4: play Max Months. He's not even like one of their
- 13:01Speaker 4: like elite defenders out there, like these guys just they
- 13:05Speaker 4: show play in and play out, game in and game
- 13:07Speaker 4: out and so far series in and series out, that
- 13:11Speaker 4: they're the better that they're the better team because they're
- 13:14Speaker 4: winning the close games, the short the one two run games.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the chance to do a little more
- 13:24Speaker 2: damage in an inning. So that top of the second
- 13:26Speaker 2: you had one out and then Durban hit the triple
- 13:28Speaker 2: to the left field corner, key k.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Dove for it missed.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Bowers hit the tying two strike RBI knock up the middle,
- 13:35Speaker 2: and they said on the broadcast, so that actually broke
- 13:37Speaker 2: up an oo for thirty seven for the Brewers against
- 13:40Speaker 2: non fastballs by the Dodgers. Clearly a game plan for
- 13:44Speaker 2: them in the first two and also Yamamoto and Snell.
- 13:47Speaker 2: That's really the big part of their game. But then
- 13:50Speaker 2: Ortiz had that fielder's choice and they said on the broadcast,
- 13:53Speaker 2: Dodgers were working on infield throws for twenty minutes before
- 13:56Speaker 2: the game. Is that normal, by the.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Way, Yeah, every team does it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Every single game, regular and postseason.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, they're out there before. They used to be.
- 14:06Speaker 3: You used to take your grounders during VP. Now all
- 14:10Speaker 3: the team's take them before VP. It's also take like
- 14:12Speaker 3: an infield and teams really you know this, cross teams
- 14:15Speaker 3: don't take infield anymore. They just they don't do it.
- 14:18Speaker 3: They take their grounders, they do their defensive work before
- 14:21Speaker 3: they hit. And then because we talked about this earlier,
- 14:23Speaker 3: nobody hits on the field anymore. So you have extra
- 14:25Speaker 3: time because you only have like four or five guys
- 14:27Speaker 3: that hit. Maybe some teams have more, but most teams
- 14:29Speaker 3: only have a few guys that hit, so they have
- 14:31Speaker 3: time to extra time because you're allotted a certain amount
- 14:33Speaker 3: of time, and do you get your working.
- 14:36Speaker 4: And it's not I washed grounders like the teams that
- 14:38Speaker 4: I've seen. It's it's really it's really heated. What really
- 14:44Speaker 4: heated about the Dodgers sweep why.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Is that, I guess I don't know.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Well, the game that we always play apparently, oh oh.
- 14:51Speaker 1: You don't like them?
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, someone's just gonna pop in the chat. You love
- 14:55Speaker 2: this team, you hate this team, you're like, well, actually,
- 14:57Speaker 2: in fairness, the Brewers, you know, they were warmer team
- 15:00Speaker 2: of yours.
- 15:00Speaker 1: That's fair.
- 15:01Speaker 3: By the way, I'm not sad at all. I'm just
- 15:03Speaker 3: gonna says ridiculous, I picked the Dodgers and the Mats
- 15:07Speaker 3: before the playoffs started. Yeah, well I'm not. Also, I
- 15:11Speaker 3: don't really have plenty of There.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Are plenty of Dodger fans that watch us regularly that
- 15:16Speaker 2: would say, uh, I feel like these guys are pretty
- 15:18Speaker 2: nice to the Dodgers deservedly so they're really damn good
- 15:22Speaker 2: at putting things together from top to bottom in the organization.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And also, it is looking more and more evident like
- 15:29Speaker 2: the division series was more of a challenge. In my mind,
- 15:33Speaker 2: it felt like more of a challenge. I thought the
- 15:35Speaker 2: Phillies were a better team and better built for the postseason,
- 15:38Speaker 2: but I still didn't feel like.
- 15:39Speaker 1: The Phillies were built great for the postseason.
- 15:42Speaker 3: It was the same mix they would have helped it helped,
- 15:46Speaker 3: so good this year, and I.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I talked to a lot of people. I've talked to
- 15:52Speaker 4: a lot of people in baseball. Obviously christ is too.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Numerous people have said to me that was the World Series,
- 15:58Speaker 3: the Dodgers and the Phillies and the DS. I saw
- 16:00Speaker 3: John Middleton yesterday and he was not very happy about it.
- 16:03Speaker 3: He's he brought up to strike three call from Sanchez
- 16:05Speaker 3: that wasn't called, and he's like, it would have been
- 16:07Speaker 3: two to two and we would have come back to
- 16:09Speaker 3: Philly and you never know what would have happened. And
- 16:11Speaker 3: I was like, well, you can't really do that, John,
- 16:12Speaker 3: I'm sorry, but yeah, I agree. It probably was a strike.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Was today For anyone that doesn't know.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the Philly he owns the Phillies.
- 16:23Speaker 4: One play. One play doesn't change, doesn't change how it
- 16:27Speaker 4: could or could have gone. It just is. It's just
- 16:30Speaker 4: stuff to talk about, just like Kirkera's play doesn't change it.
- 16:34Speaker 4: But there's a lot of things that people could say,
- 16:36Speaker 4: you know what, Hey, look what the Phillies did. Their
- 16:38Speaker 4: starters outlasted the Dodgers vaunted starters. Like every game that
- 16:44Speaker 4: the Dodgers starters came out of the Phillies had to lead.
- 16:48Speaker 4: The Phillies starters they pitched, they pitched better even though
- 16:53Speaker 4: like neither neither team starters did bad. And for the series,
- 16:58Speaker 4: the Phillies out hit the Dodger. Now, the one the
- 17:01Speaker 4: one game really propped that up. But that, in my opinion,
- 17:06Speaker 4: I said it beforehand, that was the World Series too.
- 17:08Speaker 4: I completely agree it's And people are like, oh, it
- 17:12Speaker 4: sucks that they had to face off. No, it doesn't suck.
- 17:15Speaker 4: You had to face You have to face the best teams.
- 17:18Speaker 4: If you want to be the best, you got to
- 17:19Speaker 4: beat the best. It's the best is in your league.
- 17:22Speaker 4: You don't want to make it to the World Series
- 17:23Speaker 4: and lose, You want to play the best teams. And
- 17:26Speaker 4: right now the Dodgers are the best team. Like that
- 17:29Speaker 4: is that is clear, And they are hitting on all
- 17:32Speaker 4: cylinders and they are all healthy. A team that every
- 17:35Speaker 4: every week somebody was going down, somebody big was going down.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Them boys are healthy now and nobody feeling nothing.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And they're gonna kick back and enjoy watching the other
- 17:46Speaker 2: series and that they beat each other up. These guys
- 17:49Speaker 2: report they don't shade teams unless you're the Pirates. Yes, Mark,
- 17:54Speaker 2: you are not just to just to be clear, notation
- 17:58Speaker 2: is a mess.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Not the playoffs.
- 18:00Speaker 4: I love a lot of their players, a lot of
- 18:01Speaker 4: their pet Tommy fam Goldblof finalists.
- 18:04Speaker 3: By the way, I saw that has he Ever he's
- 18:07Speaker 3: never won one? Has he?
- 18:09Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Hey, Okay, here's the deal. This is about a thirty
- 18:16Speaker 2: minute show. We do one break. Okay, TV does an
- 18:19Speaker 2: hour of break, So one quick, one minute break. Stick around,
- 18:23Speaker 2: we'll come back, we'll look ahead at game four. We'll
- 18:25Speaker 2: also talk about if the Brewers have any semblance of
- 18:28Speaker 2: a chance to even make this a series, and if
- 18:30Speaker 2: you're a Dodger fan, who you should be rooting for
- 18:32Speaker 2: in the American League Championship series.
- 18:34Speaker 1: All that coming up.
- 18:40Speaker 2: This is for everyone listening right now. What are you
- 18:42Speaker 2: wearing right now? And why isn't it me on Deese Kratz.
- 18:47Speaker 2: It is time for everyone to upgrade and get that
- 18:49Speaker 2: super soft micro modal glory so good that you don't
- 18:55Speaker 2: want to take it off.
- 18:57Speaker 4: The reason I'm stone facing you is because, yeah, that's
- 19:00Speaker 4: how soft they are. It's ridiculous, Like I feel, I
- 19:03Speaker 4: don't even understand what kind of material it is. It's
- 19:06Speaker 4: got to be something space age.
- 19:08Speaker 2: For your butt signature super Soft micro Modal fabric, breathable, stretchy,
- 19:15Speaker 2: unbelievably cozy, and now you can even get glow in

- 19:42Speaker 1: We're back.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Thanks for bearing with Kratz being an underwear model. You
- 19:45Speaker 2: did it. It's the FT Live postgame show presented by
- 19:49Speaker 2: the Fox one app bron Kratz Perzinski.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Let's keep talking. So first off, for game four AJ, the.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Brewers just announced they are starting ashby I'm kidding, might
- 20:01Speaker 2: I just.
- 20:04Speaker 1: He might.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I mean they might just do it till they die.
- 20:08Speaker 2: He might start every game next year. But in all seriousness,
- 20:11Speaker 2: you should see a lot of Kintana and I'm assuming
- 20:14Speaker 2: Otani's gonna pitch. Is there any chance that the Dodgers
- 20:17Speaker 2: would hold him back because they're up three to zero.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And they don't want to waste the start and the bullets. No,
- 20:23Speaker 1: you definitely start him the dub.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Who else they gonna start? If he starts and they
- 20:27Speaker 3: win the game, they get like ten days off and
- 20:29Speaker 3: then everyone will be complaining that they have too long
- 20:31Speaker 3: off or whatever it does. I don't know. No, they
- 20:35Speaker 3: won't be. But no, you start your best. And why
- 20:37Speaker 3: would you hold him up? Hold him off for what
- 20:39Speaker 3: game five? When you have can I Blake stella normal rest?
- 20:42Speaker 3: What are we holding him out for? Who's gonna pitch?
- 20:44Speaker 3: Come on, Sky, you're being silly. You just sometimes, Scott.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I think you just like being silly. I do.
- 20:51Speaker 2: And I asked, well, I asked a question. I didn't
- 20:54Speaker 2: say I was gonna do it. I'm pitching Otani in
- 20:56Speaker 2: game four. I just said, you think there's any chance
- 20:58Speaker 2: that something happens and they hold him back?
- 21:00Speaker 4: Kratz, you I would I would need to see Dave
- 21:04Speaker 4: Roberts give me a full out explanation of why you
- 21:07Speaker 4: would not throw show Hao Tani. It's Shoho Tony's turn
- 21:12Speaker 4: because Blake Snell's throwing Game five. You don't what I mean?
- 21:16Speaker 4: What would you say him for game one so that
- 21:18Speaker 4: he can maybe throw Game seven of the World Series.
- 21:21Speaker 4: That is like, that is the last that is the worst.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Although maybe the Brewers would make that decision. Maybe the
- 21:29Speaker 4: Brewers would get cute if they were up three to
- 21:30Speaker 4: zero and they're like, well, we got here doing this,
- 21:33Speaker 4: let's just abandon it and do something else. No, it's
- 21:36Speaker 4: show he tonys. If it's not show he tanis, I
- 21:39Speaker 4: won't wear my hat for the show tomorrow. How about that?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Whoa, I've never heard that before. I like that. Now
- 21:46Speaker 1: I'm calling Doc.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I'm calling Dave right now and being like, please please
- 21:50Speaker 3: make sure we wait.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Just ask him for an opener for one pitch.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Then they they don't they don't have enough. Uh don't
- 22:00Speaker 3: have enough weapons for that. They don't have they don't
- 22:02Speaker 3: have guys that are for me to do that. There.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Their bullpen is built for their starters to go deep
- 22:07Speaker 3: into the game and then Doc and match up with
- 22:10Speaker 3: Vesia Bonda trying in Suzaki whoever he needs to he
- 22:15Speaker 3: That's how their team is built. Their team is built
- 22:16Speaker 3: on depth of starters. Or are they gonna start m
- 22:19Speaker 3: she and tomorrow and then and then hope he goes
- 22:21Speaker 3: a couple of innings and then they know, because then
- 22:23Speaker 3: they then if they lose, they got to go to
- 22:24Speaker 3: Game five. And no, Scott, it's it's a it's a
- 22:27Speaker 3: bad it's just a bad question. Scott. There are no
- 22:29Speaker 3: there are no dumb questions, only people that ask him.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Yep, Kershaw, is it he on the roster?
- 22:38Speaker 3: No?
- 22:39Speaker 1: Is he on the roster this round?
- 22:40Speaker 4: I mean yes, I mean I start. If Kershaw has
- 22:44Speaker 4: to start that that is that is a fair. But
- 22:47Speaker 4: I would have to understand why you wouldn't go with
- 22:50Speaker 4: the better picture.
- 22:52Speaker 3: You're starting Otani quick, let's just get it out. Just listen.
- 22:56Speaker 3: If they're up ten to nothing and Clayton comes in
- 22:58Speaker 3: and closes it out, that would be awesome. Okay, but
- 23:00Speaker 3: he's not starting a game unless something crazy happens.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Okay. I would like to give credit to something you
- 23:07Speaker 1: just brought up. AJ.
- 23:08Speaker 2: The Dodger bullpen was the shaky part, but tonight it
- 23:13Speaker 2: was a traditional Dodger bullpen that won the game for them, right,
- 23:16Speaker 2: they rolled out like you said, some matchup Holsons been
- 23:18Speaker 2: rosy to close.
- 23:19Speaker 3: It out the whole postseason.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Yeah, but some guys that right, But like Vesia Bonda
- 23:27Speaker 2: trying in, Doc's trying to figure out who else he
- 23:29Speaker 2: can trust. Let's say there's a longer series in the
- 23:32Speaker 2: world series. He's got it down now right.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Here's what I'm gonna tell you, and Kratz, I think
- 23:36Speaker 3: you would agree, and you can tell me. Maybe you don't.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm gonna tell you this right now.
- 23:42Speaker 3: It just shows you when you have a guy you
- 23:43Speaker 3: trust in the ninth inning. This is why closers by
- 23:46Speaker 3: committee don't always work. You gotta have that guy in
- 23:48Speaker 3: the bottom of the night that can come in and
- 23:50Speaker 3: get you three outs, okay, or the top of the night,
- 23:53Speaker 3: because it sets everybody up in a better role. Last
- 23:55Speaker 3: year was trying and then but you know, or whoever
- 23:59Speaker 3: it was supposed to be. It was supposed to be
- 24:01Speaker 3: Tanner Scott this year. But when you have that guy
- 24:03Speaker 3: you trust in the ninth it's Suzaki, no right. You
- 24:06Speaker 3: can use Vessia here, you can use Bonda here, you
- 24:08Speaker 3: can use triin In here, you can use she In here.
- 24:10Speaker 3: It just sets up your bullpen in a better spot.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And as a manager, it's the best feeling in the
- 24:15Speaker 3: world when you know you have that hammer in the
- 24:17Speaker 3: night that you can go to in Sazaki if he
- 24:19Speaker 3: throws that split over the plate like he has good
- 24:22Speaker 3: luck boys.
- 24:24Speaker 4: This like, but no, that's not true. And I'll tell
- 24:27Speaker 4: you why it's not true, because computer says, no way
- 24:31Speaker 4: that has anything to do with anything in the game.
- 24:34Speaker 4: It's all just about the numbers. No, of course it's true. AJ,
- 24:38Speaker 4: Like what you said was exactly how you win games
- 24:41Speaker 4: in tight spots, because if you look up and you're like,
- 24:45Speaker 4: what what we're winning?
- 24:48Speaker 3: Two?
- 24:48Speaker 4: Oh? Like why do we have Rokie in? Rokie's been
- 24:51Speaker 4: closing games out for us. Why do we have last
- 24:54Speaker 4: year Blake trying it in in the third inning. You know,
- 24:58Speaker 4: the teams that do that, the teams that are panicked,
- 25:01Speaker 4: the teams that are like, whoa boy, we gotta get this.
- 25:04Speaker 4: The teams that are losing, they're like, Okay, we got
- 25:07Speaker 4: to get this guy out of here. Kem Tana starts
- 25:09Speaker 4: tomorrow for the Brewers. He gets in any trouble, Okay,
- 25:11Speaker 4: we got to get him out. Avenue Reba pitched in
- 25:14Speaker 4: the sixth inning. The Brewers backs were against the wall.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Winning teams make winning decisions and when they lock down
- 25:21Speaker 4: the closer roll.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Nobody three and a half.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Weeks ago would have said it was Roki Sasaki, especially
- 25:28Speaker 4: when you watched his second to last outing in Triple
- 25:31Speaker 4: A and he was throwing ninety two to ninety four.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Then he threw two more outing in Triple a's throwing
- 25:36Speaker 4: one hundred. And you're like, well, maybe that forkball, because
- 25:39Speaker 4: it's not a splitter. Stop calling his splitter.
- 25:40Speaker 3: It's a forkball.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Get the new logo on the top of the screen
- 25:44Speaker 4: to say forkball, and it's it's a lights out pitch,
- 25:48Speaker 4: and he's throwing strikes, no brainer, one hundred miles an hour, forkball.
- 25:53Speaker 4: See it, he's not throwing strikes. Now, we got to
- 25:55Speaker 4: figure it out, but until then we are in control.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Here's listen. I'm gonna heat Crow on this one. I
- 26:02Speaker 3: said earlier that we didn't think. I didn't think it
- 26:04Speaker 3: was Sazaki would be on the roster, and here he
- 26:07Speaker 3: is closing out games. I mean the way he was pitching,
- 26:09Speaker 3: the way he pitched early in the year, and the
- 26:11Speaker 3: way he was pitching at Triple A. I didn't think
- 26:12Speaker 3: he'd even sniffed the roster. Hear he has closed out games.
- 26:15Speaker 3: So I till my captain Rokie Sazaki, I till my
- 26:18Speaker 3: captain the Dodgers they're pitching, coach, they're pitching development people
- 26:21Speaker 3: that they saw something didn't see it coming, so way
- 26:25Speaker 3: to go.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Hey, do you guys remember when Aaron Savali was traded
- 26:30Speaker 2: by the Brewers because he requested to be dealt There
- 26:34Speaker 2: were too many starters for the Brewers. They had a surplus,
- 26:38Speaker 2: they didn't have room for him. Oh how times have changed.
- 26:42Speaker 2: And at times during the year you're looking at the Dodgers'
- 26:44Speaker 2: rotation like is everyone going to be okay and ready
- 26:47Speaker 2: for the playoffs? Well that question was answered. This part
- 26:51Speaker 2: pisses me off, Aja, and some of this can be
- 26:53Speaker 2: attributed to losing someone like Brandon Woodriff that was a
- 26:57Speaker 2: big loss for them. But I hate the smoking Marys.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I feel like the Brewers are capable of actually throwing
- 27:05Speaker 2: starters out there. I know this is getting back to
- 27:07Speaker 2: what we talked about at the beginning of the show,
- 27:09Speaker 2: but veering away from that plan. I think sin's the
- 27:13Speaker 2: wrong message within your organization, right. The Brewers are most
- 27:16Speaker 2: likely about to get bounced, and their thing is they
- 27:20Speaker 2: have a lot of regular season success. This is some
- 27:22Speaker 2: postseason success, but again they're going to fall short. And
- 27:26Speaker 2: if I'm the org, I would like to tell the
- 27:30Speaker 2: Quinn Priester, that Jacob Mazerowski, young starters that have gotten
- 27:34Speaker 2: them to this point.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Start the damn game. We have confidence in you with
- 27:38Speaker 1: the baseball.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Let's be honest. Andrew Vaughan did help him on this run.
- 27:42Speaker 3: So he was traded for Sabali, So so they got
- 27:44Speaker 3: that one, right, Okay, they had a guy that did
- 27:46Speaker 3: not bad trade. Yeah, no, I guess what you're saying
- 27:49Speaker 3: the starters and they're doing.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Was his name and didn't have Henderson Logan Henderson Henderson, Sorry,
- 27:56Speaker 4: they had Freddie obviously his Priester would of Chad Patrick
- 28:02Speaker 4: Patrick who's in the bullpen now Miserowski at the time.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Right, there's five. I mean that it was a guy Henderson.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Of the year for him, righty. That was from last
- 28:13Speaker 4: year's Picture.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Of the Years. He was in Triple A though, Yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 3: I just Kintana. Yeah, but he ended U Yeah, I mean,
- 28:25Speaker 3: but those are listen. Kintana has been a starter his
- 28:28Speaker 3: entire career. Like, start him tomorrow. He's left handed, Just
- 28:32Speaker 3: start him tomorrow. What are we what are we messing
- 28:34Speaker 3: around with? Just start him to the world.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Didn't he start games for the Mets in the playoffs
- 28:40Speaker 2: last year? Quintana yeah, and.
- 28:43Speaker 3: The bruise this year. Hasn't he been really good for
- 28:46Speaker 3: the Brewers when he's gotten to start?
- 28:49Speaker 4: It to me, is there is there a glaring Jose
- 28:53Speaker 4: Kintana shouldn't or or Miserrawski should not start because first
- 28:58Speaker 4: inning he just gets lit up. It is awful like
- 29:01Speaker 4: he does not like if there's something like that glaring, yes,
- 29:06Speaker 4: but are we really saying that that is how like
- 29:10Speaker 4: this was a glaring like issue for us the whole year.
- 29:14Speaker 4: We have to start an opener or are we just
- 29:18Speaker 4: trying to be a little too cute, as AJ said,
- 29:22Speaker 4: too cute Miz.
- 29:23Speaker 2: You want to make the one case for someone like him, rookie,
- 29:25Speaker 2: he's had some issues early in games, wasn't the same
- 29:28Speaker 2: in the second half, okay, and he's been a cool weapon.
- 29:31Speaker 1: But everyone else like, just line up your damn rotation,
- 29:34Speaker 1: right yeah, yeah, yeah, there are guys, the guys you
- 29:41Speaker 1: mentioned just now. I agree.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I agree it might not matter at all, But like
- 29:46Speaker 2: you guys said Freddie p Quintana, Patrick Priester, that's already
- 29:52Speaker 2: four right there. Sure you want to mess around and
- 29:54Speaker 2: have Miz appear in multienating portions of games, and if
- 29:58Speaker 2: you want to have a short leash on the guys
- 29:59Speaker 2: like that's it's okay too. But whatever, the Dodgers are
- 30:04Speaker 2: showing how significant traditional starting pitching matters. And also, I mean,
- 30:08Speaker 2: these guys are all aces. These are four aces.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Also, let's not forget for all those years it was
- 30:14Speaker 3: the Dodgers that were always trying to be cute and tricksy.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Now this year they said, you know what, we're going
- 30:21Speaker 3: all in on starters, and they did, and it's worked.
- 30:24Speaker 3: It's worked. So they've always the team. You know, Oh,
- 30:26Speaker 3: Rich Hill, remember the Rich Hill fiasco or he's like
- 30:28Speaker 3: throwing a no hitter one hit or whatever it was,
- 30:30Speaker 3: and he took him out, and they thought they learned
- 30:34Speaker 3: their lesson from the Blake Snell who's now on their team.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Trick right, Blake Snell six innings whatever it was in
- 30:41Speaker 3: twenty twenty when I got COVID from Justin Turner, just
- 30:43Speaker 3: kidding at in Texas. Remember they took him out in
- 30:48Speaker 3: Game six and the Dodgers went on to beat I
- 30:50Speaker 3: think it was Fairbanks, maybe I forget who it was.
- 30:52Speaker 3: They brought in a writing and they beat him and
- 30:54Speaker 3: they scored the runs. So the Dodgers have learned the
- 30:57Speaker 3: Dodgers adapt. The Dodgers do what they think is best
- 30:59Speaker 3: for their roster, and they're the that's whether they won
- 31:02Speaker 3: last year and they're on the verge of going to
- 31:04Speaker 3: the World Series again.
- 31:05Speaker 2: There's some good comments in here. Jason said, Murph's doing
- 31:07Speaker 2: peak twenty twenty one, Dave Roberts with the way that
- 31:10Speaker 2: they're handling the pitching staff. And then Jim said, if
- 31:12Speaker 2: the Brewers owners spent on some pitching depth, either preseason
- 31:15Speaker 2: or at the deadline, this would be.
- 31:16Speaker 1: A closer series. Bingo or a bat Hey.
- 31:20Speaker 2: My big thing, and he hasn't performed great in the
- 31:22Speaker 2: second half, was Brewers can use a Geno Suarez, right,
- 31:27Speaker 2: I mean, they didn't end up needing someone like a
- 31:28Speaker 2: nailor Vond's been very good for them, but there are
- 31:31Speaker 2: moves that could have been made misdsserts better.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Here's my thing.
- 31:38Speaker 2: The Brewers often don't do much transaction wise. They do
- 31:42Speaker 2: a fantastic job of drafting, developing, scrap heap pickups. I
- 31:48Speaker 2: get it, small market team, I get it. They can
- 31:51Speaker 2: spend a little bit more. They can, I promise you.
- 31:53Speaker 2: They're not poor. They're profiting, so they could do a
- 31:56Speaker 2: little bit more to try and give this a fight.
- 31:58Speaker 2: And this is why you have to battle in our sport.
- 32:01Speaker 2: But you do have a side of fans that are like,
- 32:03Speaker 2: good for the freaking Dodgers. You're not the only ones
- 32:05Speaker 2: that spend money. They're trying their asses off. They've become
- 32:08Speaker 2: a behemoth because they try hard. They're successful. People come
- 32:11Speaker 2: to the games, they make a ton of money. They
- 32:13Speaker 2: take that money and spend it on the team.
- 32:16Speaker 4: And they also have a top to bottom we are
- 32:21Speaker 4: this organization. We're going to do it this way. And
- 32:24Speaker 4: now they're like churning. They're just an engine that just
- 32:29Speaker 4: repeats over and over and over again. And they if
- 32:33Speaker 4: they end up winning this World Series, which is so
- 32:36Speaker 4: hard to do, win back to back, they're gonna be
- 32:39Speaker 4: just this juggernaut, just this stone rolling downhill catching momentum
- 32:44Speaker 4: because their team's not going away. They're they're minor leaguers
- 32:49Speaker 4: that are coming up because they use forty guys throughout
- 32:52Speaker 4: a season because not all their starters are going to
- 32:55Speaker 4: make their twenty to twenty five starts. Like they're just
- 32:59Speaker 4: continual adding adding to this roster, and they're gonna be
- 33:04Speaker 4: They're gonna be tough. They're gonna be tough for years
- 33:07Speaker 4: to come because they've set up from top to bottom,
- 33:10Speaker 4: from the ownership to the front office. They ask each
- 33:15Speaker 4: other questions, they're not afraid of the tough answers, and
- 33:18Speaker 4: they're always looking to win, and they've gotten away from
- 33:22Speaker 4: being cute.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and the Mets spend almost as much as the Dodgers,
- 33:27Speaker 2: and they didn't even crack the postseason, be partially because
- 33:30Speaker 2: they didn't believe in traditional starters and allocating too much
- 33:35Speaker 2: of their funds that way. So we'll talk about that
- 33:38Speaker 2: all off season long for now. Dodgers dominating. Okay, this
- 33:41Speaker 2: game was close score wise, but it didn't feel that way.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Congrats to them.
- 33:45Speaker 2: They're up three to zero in this series, and thanks
- 33:48Speaker 2: everyone for checking this out.
