- 0:02Speaker 1: Two Teas in a Pod, which Teddy Mellencamp and Cam
- 0:06Speaker 1: Ridge edge.
- 0:13Speaker 2: All right, hello, good morning to our two Teas and
- 0:18Speaker 2: a Pod flashback subscribers. We are happy to bring you
- 0:23Speaker 2: another pod and it's just me and Tam recapping from
- 0:27Speaker 2: the beginning on.
- 0:29Speaker 3: But we go back in time to the first season
- 0:33Speaker 3: of Orange County Housewives and we break it down for
- 0:36Speaker 3: you and bring in some pretty special guests.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It's going to be incredible. Of course, we're going to
- 0:41Speaker 2: give our hot takes and our opinion.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Yes, wow, we're wearing our skytops.
- 0:48Speaker 4: By the way, what can you send me a skytop?
- 0:51Speaker 4: I don't have an episode.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I don't have one, but I uh, probably about six
- 0:55Speaker 3: months ago, went to you know, thrifty with Sophia of course,
- 0:59Speaker 3: which I call the good Will right, and there was
- 1:02Speaker 3: a knockoff skytop shirt and she's like, oh my god, Mom,
- 1:05Speaker 3: I really like this because she's really into the nineties
- 1:07Speaker 3: or she was at that time. So we bought it
- 1:09Speaker 3: and so I text her today at school. I'm like, hey,
- 1:11Speaker 3: where's that skytop? She goes, what's a skytop? And I'm like,
- 1:14Speaker 3: so I show her a picture. She goes, Mom, that
- 1:16Speaker 3: was so six months ago.
- 1:18Speaker 2: You're like, of course, I got Also, so what year
- 1:22Speaker 2: was your Skytop confessional?
- 1:23Speaker 3: And it was two thousand and six, so it wasn't
- 1:29Speaker 3: the nineties. It was the two thousands, so I want
- 1:31Speaker 3: to say two thousand and seven maybe because.
- 1:34Speaker 4: The nineties was also like Abercrombie, like striped shirts, horizonal.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Oh thousand percent. Like did you ever go to sky
- 1:45Speaker 3: on Robertson the store.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Probably yeah, yes, because the statement necklaces were a part
- 1:53Speaker 2: of the shirt.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Yes, it was all connected.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I heard stuff.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah. I remember were doing press in La and I
- 2:01Speaker 3: was with Gina and Kara and Vicki and we went
- 2:04Speaker 3: to sky and Robinson was my probably one of my
- 2:06Speaker 3: first experience with paparazzi. So I'll send you the picture.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I was in a sky jumpsuit.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Oh, I'm sure you were looking. Rett. I would go.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Looking at myself in the mirror, and the paparazzi got me.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Oh oh, and they got me after I called them
- 2:23Speaker 2: and then sent them an.
- 2:24Speaker 4: EMAILT And I'm just kidding.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Oh you know how they hang out over there by
- 2:28Speaker 3: the now Robertson.
- 2:29Speaker 2: That was actually my one of my first jobs out here.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I was it was called a celebrity cedar. So what
- 2:35Speaker 2: you did was see called a hostess no cedar like
- 2:40Speaker 2: see d E R.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I worked for a couple of different stores on Robertson
- 2:46Speaker 2: and one called Intuition, And what we would do is
- 2:49Speaker 2: we would bring celebrities into the store. We would give
- 2:52Speaker 2: them free items in exchange for pictures for pictures, and
- 2:57Speaker 2: then we'd call X seventeen that was actually.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Had to take those pictures on your digital camera.
- 3:02Speaker 4: No, we would call the paparazzi and they were waiting
- 3:05Speaker 4: and like Jessica Simpson would go out and then I
- 3:08Speaker 4: would make sure the pap arrozzi got a picture of
- 3:11Speaker 4: her and the bag that wasn't selling, and then that's
- 3:14Speaker 4: the photo I would send us weekly and like it
- 3:17Speaker 4: and then everybody needed that bag. Yep.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So that's I mean, remember when everybody had those plastic
- 3:25Speaker 2: versions of the burkins, Like they still have them, don't
- 3:31Speaker 2: they They're still there, but like there it was really
- 3:34Speaker 2: like a like a croc version where they're a.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Rubbery they're they're clear rubbery, but they have like all
- 3:40Speaker 4: the same like gold and well.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Anyways, those were very very popular, and that was because
- 3:47Speaker 2: I gifted it to all I mean I remember when
- 3:49Speaker 2: I got Julia Roberts to carry that damn bag, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: I was like, listen, I can quit now.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I've I've done my dude diling.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I mean, I've been early in her career shanking and
- 3:59Speaker 3: carrying nothing for picture for now free.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Well yeah, that's that's pretty much. Okay.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Well, we went back in time and it was I
- 4:11Speaker 3: opening to watch the first two episodes of Orange County
- 4:15Speaker 3: first season. Obviously I was not on season one or two,
- 4:19Speaker 3: so I'm enjoying it because I'm not on it and
- 4:21Speaker 3: I have to see myself. But what a difference.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Hold on? What about the quality of that's why were
- 4:27Speaker 4: we even break down the women? The production? It was
- 4:30Speaker 4: like dark dark. It was hard for me to see
- 4:33Speaker 4: the people.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I think, I like that. Can we film like that
- 4:36Speaker 3: the rest of the season next year?
- 4:39Speaker 4: Okay?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Also, just the fact of like how kid centric it
- 4:43Speaker 2: was was so beyond well.
- 4:46Speaker 3: There was a lot of teens and there was troubled
- 4:48Speaker 3: teens on the first couple of seasons.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Okay, So I think the way that we should start
- 4:53Speaker 2: before we get into episode one and two. And just
- 4:55Speaker 2: so you guys know, our second podcast will be with
- 5:00Speaker 2: Joe Delarosa who was one of the women on the
- 5:04Speaker 2: first two seasons, and we're going to talk.
- 5:06Speaker 3: To her about her maid's outfit, about her juicy couture
- 5:10Speaker 3: track suit she was wearing.
- 5:11Speaker 4: And about your best friend Slade.
- 5:13Speaker 3: And then Slade. Yeah, yeah, you know, I'm making seven
- 5:16Speaker 3: figures in my thirties.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Oh my god, what I could die.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I remember thinking those hummers were hot. Okay, So all right, well, guys,
- 5:26Speaker 2: I might not have all the women's names pronounced correctly,
- 5:28Speaker 2: so if I mess anybody up, I'm going to give
- 5:30Speaker 2: a little there on town who each woman is, and
- 5:34Speaker 2: then I want you to give their taglines.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay.
- 5:39Speaker 4: So the first one is Gina Keo.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:44Speaker 4: He's married to Matt Yeah, three kids, Shane, Kara, and Colton.
- 5:49Speaker 4: She's a real estate agent and former Playboy playmate. Her
- 5:53Speaker 4: husband was a pro baseball player, and she's obsessed with
- 5:56Speaker 4: the genetics of her family.
- 5:59Speaker 3: She was and a little backstory on Matt Keo. He
- 6:02Speaker 3: was professional baseball player. He was injured while playing. He
- 6:07Speaker 3: took a line drive to his temple. I believe, Oh
- 6:10Speaker 3: my god, and god, I want to say he had
- 6:13Speaker 3: brain damage. So he was he could no longer play
- 6:17Speaker 3: he was. It was a sad situation, totally changed who
- 6:21Speaker 3: he was, his personality. He has passed, so I was no.
- 6:26Speaker 3: He has passed on, just recently. A couple of years
- 6:29Speaker 3: ago he passed.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Were they married until he passed on.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I don't know if they were still married, but I
- 6:34Speaker 3: know that Gina always protected him even though they weren't together,
- 6:37Speaker 3: and supported him and had him living in the house
- 6:40Speaker 3: even though they weren't even together. She was a very
- 6:42Speaker 3: good ex wife to him, for sure. Gina was on
- 6:46Speaker 3: season one through five, then a friend on season six,
- 6:49Speaker 3: and her tagline was it's just money, you can't take
- 6:52Speaker 3: it with you. And I want to say the taglines
- 6:56Speaker 3: in the early seasons were things that you basically said
- 6:59Speaker 3: on the show.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Oh, so they just recycle.
- 7:02Speaker 3: They recycle like it's just money.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Oh, that's actually kind of clever idea because then it's
- 7:08Speaker 2: true to something you would actually really say, right, all right.
- 7:12Speaker 4: So the next one is, of course my favorite.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Vicki Gunfeldsen, married to Don, two kids, Brianna and Michael.
- 7:19Speaker 2: She runs her own life insurance agency out of her house.
- 7:23Speaker 2: She's Type A and high energy.
- 7:27Speaker 3: So Vicky Gummelson housewife season one through thirteen, Friend season
- 7:31Speaker 3: fourteen and seventeen, and her tagline was, I don't want
- 7:34Speaker 3: to get old.
- 7:36Speaker 2: That was it.
- 7:36Speaker 3: That's it, that's it. I don't want to get old.
- 7:41Speaker 4: And oh see, no one gets old. I mean the
- 7:43Speaker 4: fact that I know they're that sure, that's hilarious.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I'm serious. It was just something that they had said.
- 7:51Speaker 3: And if I'm not mistaken, we have to ask I
- 7:54Speaker 3: don't even know if Evolution produced. Can somebody look that up?
- 7:58Speaker 4: See, well, why don't we ask you? We got it?
- 8:00Speaker 2: We have to ask Joe because I originally this wasn't
- 8:03Speaker 2: even supposed to be a housewife show.
- 8:05Speaker 4: But then why is.
- 8:06Speaker 3: To be called behind the gates?
- 8:08Speaker 2: But then she also says, you know, Vicky's constantly I'm
- 8:13Speaker 2: the OG of the o C.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Well, okay, so in the very beginning, Scott Dunlap was
- 8:20Speaker 3: the creator of the show. He created it. It was
- 8:23Speaker 3: very like what you saw I think is what he
- 8:26Speaker 3: you know his I think it was his production company
- 8:28Speaker 3: that filmed that, and very simple just about their lives.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Well, well they're all very What I did realize is
- 8:36Speaker 4: they're all very separate, Like it's not now.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I came in season three and screwed that up.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Oh okay, all right, Well, the next one is Kimberly Bryant,
- 8:46Speaker 4: married to Scott, two kids, Bianca and Travis. A lot
- 8:51Speaker 4: of information about her breast and plans. She went to
- 8:54Speaker 4: a d cup, thinks she's a trophy wife, loves working out,
- 8:59Speaker 4: being active, and hanging with her girlfriends.
- 9:02Speaker 3: So Kimberly Bryant, what I remember about her? She actually
- 9:06Speaker 3: was diagnosed with skin cancer on the show. She was
- 9:09Speaker 3: on for season one and then they moved, so her
- 9:12Speaker 3: tagline was eighty five percent of the women around here
- 9:15Speaker 3: have had brest implants. Oh yeah, okay.
- 9:22Speaker 2: The next one Laurie Peterson. Divorced three kids, Ashley, Josh,
- 9:28Speaker 2: and Sophie. Laurie had to downsize to an under two
- 9:31Speaker 2: thousand square foot home and has started working for Vicki.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Her oldest daughter, Ashley, moves back in with her after
- 9:38Speaker 2: trying it out in LA. Her son Josh is in
- 9:41Speaker 2: the seventh grade and dealing with drugs and alcohol issues.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Oh that made me so sad. I know.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I think Laurie probably has one of the most realist
- 9:49Speaker 3: RUSS seasons, the first coming right out of the gate,
- 9:55Speaker 3: like the episode two. Her son goes, juvenile hall, I mean,
- 9:59Speaker 3: very sad.
- 10:00Speaker 4: She was on.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Laurie was on from season one to four. She was
- 10:03Speaker 3: a friend season eight and her tagline was are the
- 10:06Speaker 3: police involved?
- 10:09Speaker 4: These one liners?
- 10:11Speaker 3: I mean and if you remember, I think she was
- 10:13Speaker 3: on the phone when she was talking to the school
- 10:18Speaker 3: when they called at Vicky's home office and she goes,
- 10:21Speaker 3: was the police involved?
- 10:23Speaker 4: And that ended up being her down that's true? Yeah, Okay.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Then Joe Delarosa, who will have on in the next episode.
- 10:31Speaker 2: She was engaged to Slade Smiley, who now is with Gretchen.
- 10:35Speaker 2: My guess we're gonna go girls trip if they're actually married.
- 10:40Speaker 3: They're not. And also also he dated Laurie.
- 10:44Speaker 2: He dated Laurie what I just talked about. Yep, after
- 10:48Speaker 2: Joe or before Joe. It was after Joe Okay on
- 10:52Speaker 2: the show.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was in between seasons. I can't remember.
- 10:57Speaker 3: We'll see it.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Happens, all right.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Joe Delarosa, she's engaged in Slade. No kids of her own.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Slade had two, Gavin and Grayson. She worked in insurance
- 11:08Speaker 2: until meeting Slade and becoming solely a stay at home wife.
- 11:12Speaker 2: She is lonely and looking to have fun while she's
- 11:14Speaker 2: still young.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I think she was actually in real estate. We'll have
- 11:18Speaker 3: to clarify that. I'm not sure if I don't think
- 11:19Speaker 3: it was insurance, but we'll ask her. Joe was on
- 11:23Speaker 3: season one and two and then she came back season
- 11:26Speaker 3: three for a party.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Okay, so when did she break up? We'll ask her
- 11:31Speaker 4: all those questions.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I think after season two she broke up with Slade,
- 11:35Speaker 3: and so her tagline was He's pretty much keeping me.
- 11:41Speaker 3: He's pretty much he couldn't keep you.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Now, well not anymore.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Those seven figures ain't happening anymore.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Well, speaking the seven figures, I was like, you're making
- 11:52Speaker 2: seven figures, but you couldn't afford to get a tailor.
- 11:55Speaker 4: What is with the suits? I know they were so
- 11:59Speaker 4: they were so I.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Felt very uncomfortable seeing them.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it was pretty bad.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Okay, let's dig into season one and episodes one and
- 12:19Speaker 4: two of the Real Housewives of Orange County. Real Housewives
- 12:23Speaker 4: of Orange County Season one, Episode one is Meet the Wives.
- 12:27Speaker 4: It premiered March twenty first, two thousand and six. Shane
- 12:33Speaker 4: is nervous about high school graduation and the pressure of
- 12:35Speaker 4: making it big in baseball as his father did. Kimberly
- 12:39Speaker 4: discusses the option of getting breast in plants, and Joe
- 12:42Speaker 4: begins to deal with being engaged to an older, richer man.
- 12:46Speaker 3: And episode two is called is it Hunting Season Yet?
- 12:50Speaker 3: Air date March twenty eighth, two thousand and six. Shane
- 12:53Speaker 3: is hired by Joe to hunt rabbits that are invading
- 12:57Speaker 3: the neighborhood, Kimberly is being pressured into up reading her car,
- 13:01Speaker 3: and Vicki gets pretty wild on a cruise.
- 13:04Speaker 2: The episode starts where Gina takes her daughter Kara to
- 13:09Speaker 2: look for a new car because her hand me down
- 13:12Speaker 2: Mercedes had a broken buttons. If Slade didn't want a
- 13:17Speaker 2: car we were giving her because it had a broken button,
- 13:21Speaker 2: she'd be driving.
- 13:22Speaker 3: A Hot Wheels to school or jogging jogging. Yeah, I mean,
- 13:29Speaker 3: I mean, I have no words. I have no words.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Do you think she was playing it up a little bit?
- 13:34Speaker 4: All of that?
- 13:34Speaker 3: I think the entire show was played up. The fact
- 13:37Speaker 3: that Slade kept saying, well, I've made seven figures by
- 13:40Speaker 3: in my thirties, and Gina's saying like she's showing a
- 13:43Speaker 3: house and the next thing you know, her client is
- 13:45Speaker 3: writing out a check doesn't work like that.
- 13:47Speaker 4: You don't write it.
- 13:48Speaker 3: You have to make an offer first and see if
- 13:49Speaker 3: they accept it before you're writing a check. So I'm like,
- 13:52Speaker 3: how it works. What kind of car did you have
- 13:55Speaker 3: when you were sixteen?
- 13:57Speaker 4: I've had. I had the Grimlin and then I had
- 13:59Speaker 4: the Dots And yeah, I.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Mean granted my kids, I bet we'll probably get one
- 14:04Speaker 2: of our current cars. So they will, Yeah, they'll be
- 14:07Speaker 2: a hammy, they'll probably have a broken button.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Hey, like I said, I would not go over thirty
- 14:14Speaker 3: thousand dollars of by Sophia car And granted it is
- 14:16Speaker 3: brand new and paid off, but that's what she got.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Well, the best thing anyone ever taught me.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Granted I don't drive now, but as a kid was
- 14:24Speaker 2: My mom forced me to learn on a stick before
- 14:27Speaker 2: I learned how to drive automatic me too, so I
- 14:30Speaker 2: actually know how to drive a stick so shocking.
- 14:33Speaker 3: That's going to help us when we're finally on Amazing Race.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Yeah, when they decide they want us for real lifetime.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah. So the early seasons and children played a heavy
- 14:41Speaker 3: part in the show. The show was like the Hills.
- 14:44Speaker 3: They even talked about early seasons that they wanted to
- 14:46Speaker 3: make a spinoff of Just the Kids, the real Kids
- 14:49Speaker 3: of Orange County, but it never never happened.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Because then we get to Joe. She's twenty four
- 14:57Speaker 2: years old. She talks about how Slade wants her to
- 15:01Speaker 2: stay at home instead of work. Do you think it's
- 15:04Speaker 2: possible for a twenty four year old to happily be
- 15:07Speaker 2: a stay at home wife?
- 15:09Speaker 3: No, she's twenty four. This is the thing. When I
- 15:12Speaker 3: watched it, I'm like, Okay, is this bullshit? Because I
- 15:15Speaker 3: felt that like there was a lot of made up
- 15:17Speaker 3: stuff to make them look like they were very fancy
- 15:20Speaker 3: and very rich, you know, And obviously Gina and Vicki
- 15:23Speaker 3: had really big houses, but the rest of the girls
- 15:24Speaker 3: did not. But the way they were talking, they were
- 15:27Speaker 3: so over the top. Why did we need to ask her?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Why did she not? Why did she get rid of
- 15:32Speaker 3: her job?
- 15:33Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Let's write these down, guys, so that we continue to
- 15:38Speaker 2: remember all the things that we need to break down
- 15:40Speaker 2: with her, because it was confusing to me. Also, if
- 15:44Speaker 2: she just was out the whole time, just partying, and
- 15:47Speaker 2: he's like trying to keep her home.
- 15:49Speaker 3: How about when she called, She's like, I'll be home soon.
- 15:51Speaker 4: What is it he's looking cigarettes.
- 15:55Speaker 3: She's like, no, it was three. Yeah. Andy had said
- 15:59Speaker 3: that Joe is one the housewives who got away too quickly.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I actually agree because I think she seems like she
- 16:05Speaker 2: didn't give an half.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but we'll make those.
- 16:09Speaker 3: And then she moved to la and she kind of
- 16:12Speaker 3: got out of the public life style and got married.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Well, then we get to Vicky. Vicky brings Brianna to
- 16:22Speaker 2: the salon to get ready for prom. She has to
- 16:24Speaker 2: talk with her about not drinking and having sex because
- 16:27Speaker 2: Vicky was a young mom and wants more for Brianna.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Question, did you have sex on Prom night? Yeah? I
- 16:35Speaker 4: don't think I had sex at prom. Ever, I'm trying
- 16:38Speaker 4: to think, Well, my prom date was Ryan's dad. Oh
- 16:42Speaker 4: my gosh. Okay, yeah, I don't know that I ever.
- 16:45Speaker 4: I mean, I was having s by the time of
- 16:48Speaker 4: my last prom, but I don't know that I had
- 16:51Speaker 4: sex Prom night.
- 16:52Speaker 3: How old were you when you had sex for the
- 16:53Speaker 3: first time.
- 16:55Speaker 4: I was in the tenth grade, So however old you
- 16:58Speaker 4: are in that grade?
- 16:59Speaker 3: Okay?
- 17:00Speaker 4: And but I mean I don't even really know. It
- 17:04Speaker 4: was like, I think I was sixteen.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I think I could drive you were you were riding
- 17:08Speaker 3: boys before you can drive a car.
- 17:09Speaker 4: No, you can. You get your license at fifteen and so.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Oh you gave her mid at fifteen and a half.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Don't you know in South Carolina you could drive till
- 17:17Speaker 2: eight pm when you were fifteen.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Oh on, you're on because because in South Carolina you
- 17:23Speaker 4: may need to have it to drive the tractor on
- 17:26Speaker 4: the farm.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Earlier, I would imagine there were some long one way
- 17:31Speaker 3: roads and nothing's going on.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Hi. I think it was seventy five. I forget what
- 17:37Speaker 4: it was.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Would you ever film the scene with Slate saying talking
- 17:42Speaker 3: to her about sex?
- 17:45Speaker 2: I don't know what she exactly because Slade, I know,
- 17:49Speaker 2: I keep getting the too confused, but I tend four years.
- 17:56Speaker 4: I mean, we.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Definitely talk about I want my kids to feel comfort
- 18:00Speaker 2: to talk to me if they have crushes, if they
- 18:01Speaker 2: have whatever.
- 18:03Speaker 4: But I want I don't know about TV for the
- 18:05Speaker 4: first conversation about it.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I hope I'm like that with my kids. My kid's
- 18:09Speaker 3: a little bit shyer than I ever was, except for
- 18:13Speaker 3: Ryan was very open. Very You'd be like, hey, mom,
- 18:16Speaker 3: come in here, look is this a frock ale on
- 18:18Speaker 3: my balls? And I'm like, oh my god, stop.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Yeah, You're like, uh, well, they do say that TV
- 18:25Speaker 4: changes people, but to me, it seems like Vicky, other
- 18:29Speaker 4: than her face, is exactly the same because she's still
- 18:32Speaker 4: micromanaging the hairstyck ucky.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Correctly at all, I know she is exactly the same
- 18:39Speaker 3: housewife as she was when she stepped out of the
- 18:41Speaker 3: scene last year or two years ago. It's crazy.
- 18:46Speaker 4: I mean, watching that, I was like, oh my god,
- 18:48Speaker 4: she I mean, she is at least exactly who she is.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Oh. She doesn't change for anybody. And that's why I say, like,
- 18:55Speaker 3: Vicky will fit. She obviously filmed with us this season.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I'm like, it's like your first time filming. She just
- 19:01Speaker 3: doesn't get it, which is good, which is really good. Like,
- 19:04Speaker 3: she doesn't It's like she's one of those housewives it
- 19:06Speaker 3: doesn't think ten steps ahead, which makes her amazing TV.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Well, then Vicky hires Laurie to work for her because
- 19:13Speaker 2: she just got divorced and Laurie had to move from
- 19:15Speaker 2: her big house to the townhouse with her kids.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Could you work for Vicky?
- 19:20Speaker 3: Hell no, yeah, no, I could never work for Vicky.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. Okay.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Then we get to Slade telling Joe that he is
- 19:31Speaker 2: uneasy with the fact that she goes out with her
- 19:33Speaker 2: friends all the time.
- 19:35Speaker 4: What do you expect when you get with somebody that's
- 19:38Speaker 4: twenty four years old?
- 19:39Speaker 3: How old was he thirty five? I don't know, because
- 19:43Speaker 3: you know, he lies about his age. So whenever you
- 19:45Speaker 3: see like an article or something that you know that
- 19:47Speaker 3: he put out, it'll say Slade forty eight. I'm like, wait,
- 19:51Speaker 3: but you no, you're well into.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Your fifties, well in your fifties. I mean he's got
- 19:57Speaker 4: to be forty eight. I mean Edwin's only.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Well, his number don't add up.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Ever, it doesn't make any sense.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I lie about your age.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, but I still But between that
- 20:10Speaker 2: and the kids and then Gina saying look at that genetics.
- 20:17Speaker 3: How nasty were Gina's kids to her?
- 20:20Speaker 4: I mean that's what I was gonna say.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It was like, listen, I'm sure the family's lovely, but
- 20:24Speaker 2: it's not like they're the Consuelos, Like, what is happening here?
- 20:30Speaker 3: Like I don't know, I mean it was out of control.
- 20:34Speaker 3: And oh side note, just googled Slade and it says
- 20:39Speaker 3: he's forty nine. No he's not. He's not forty nine.
- 20:42Speaker 3: He's well in two.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Fifties, forty nine years old. So we're gonna believe that
- 20:48Speaker 2: Slade is eight years older than me. But he was
- 20:50Speaker 2: on television.
- 20:51Speaker 4: But what year was this?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Two thousand and six?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Five, So this is two thousand and five. We're not
- 20:57Speaker 2: the greatest at math, but let's seventeen years ago. So
- 21:00Speaker 2: let's say he was thirty five. Then what's the math? Okay,
- 21:04Speaker 2: So thirty five plus seventeen.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Fifty fifty two. Like, come on, we don't know, we
- 21:12Speaker 4: don't know how old you are, a Slade, but you're
- 21:14Speaker 4: definitely not forty nine.
- 21:16Speaker 3: No, I think he's more like fifty six. That's what
- 21:18Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 21:18Speaker 4: He was a child actor, right, Okay, I also question that.
- 21:24Speaker 3: He also claims that he was part of Tour de France.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Like he like, he was very vague about it. You know,
- 21:31Speaker 3: Eddie's a cyclist and he's a really good cyclist at
- 21:33Speaker 3: that and he would always brag that, oh, I, you know,
- 21:37Speaker 3: was with the Tour de France. He was like, he
- 21:40Speaker 3: did a the water guy does not count no, exactly,
- 21:43Speaker 3: he trained. So Eddie, we went to NAPA filming one
- 21:46Speaker 3: year and you're going.
- 21:47Speaker 4: To see that.
- 21:48Speaker 3: And so Eddie's like let's bring our bikes. We can
- 21:50Speaker 3: go ride and it's up and down the hill. He
- 21:51Speaker 3: said he was on the side of the road with
- 21:54Speaker 3: Slade on the ground because he had his cramping so bad,
- 21:57Speaker 3: trying to keep it with Eddie and Eddie's elbows like
- 21:59Speaker 3: into his I trying to rub out the cramp because
- 22:01Speaker 3: he was like doubled over and I'm like, mm hmm,
- 22:05Speaker 3: he's a talker.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Well, I have another question for you, because Kimberly says this,
- 22:11Speaker 2: and I want to know if this is still a
- 22:12Speaker 2: thing in OC. Do girls still receive breast implants for
- 22:17Speaker 2: a high school graduation?
- 22:19Speaker 4: No, I know I will and Beverly Hills it's nose jobs.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Well, you know what, I can kind of understand nose
- 22:27Speaker 3: jobs because some kids obviously are born with very large
- 22:34Speaker 3: noses and it affects them. But they're too young to
- 22:37Speaker 3: get a nose job before the age of eighteen. And
- 22:39Speaker 3: if it's something that really bothers, then go, I'm all
- 22:43Speaker 3: for it it.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I'm fine.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Boob jobs, No, no, you know I got I got
- 22:49Speaker 3: my boobs done when I was in my twenties and
- 22:51Speaker 3: I borrowed the money from my dad and he said, well,
- 22:56Speaker 3: what's wrong with the boobs you have? Are they broken?
- 22:59Speaker 3: And I said no, I just want him bigger. And
- 23:02Speaker 3: he's like, well, if they're not broken, why do you
- 23:04Speaker 3: want to fix him? And I'm like, I just want
- 23:05Speaker 3: him bigger. And he ended up giving me the money
- 23:08Speaker 3: I paid him back.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Well, I got my boobs after cruise because they look
- 23:12Speaker 2: like fried eggs.
- 23:15Speaker 4: But what about My favorite part of this.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Entire episode, before we even close out on episode one
- 23:21Speaker 2: and zip into episode two, is how shady editors were
- 23:25Speaker 2: even back then. When they show Shane's graduation party and
- 23:28Speaker 2: it's a shot of him laying by himself by the
- 23:30Speaker 2: pool pool.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Yeah, well, he said, I don't want to go. I
- 23:35Speaker 3: don't want to go to graduation. I honestly I would
- 23:39Speaker 3: force my kid to walk.
- 23:41Speaker 4: But also I want to know maybe he wasn't graduating.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I like, how I'm just speculating.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I'm like, why else would you not go, especially if
- 23:48Speaker 2: you're like this popular guy that's potentially getting drafted and
- 23:53Speaker 2: all these things.
- 23:54Speaker 3: He never I don't think he ever really made it
- 23:56Speaker 3: big in baseball, And the way his dad and Shane
- 24:02Speaker 3: talked to people was so disrespectful.
- 24:04Speaker 4: And also, as we're getting into episode two.
- 24:07Speaker 2: What in the sociopath is happening with the obsession with
- 24:10Speaker 2: the killing the rabbits.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I know, before we get to that, I will have
- 24:14Speaker 3: to say it was really sad to see Grayson. Grayson
- 24:20Speaker 3: passed away a couple months ago at the age of
- 24:23Speaker 3: like twenty two. I believe when he was on Housewives
- 24:27Speaker 3: it was before he was diagnosed with a brain tumor,
- 24:31Speaker 3: and he continued to live on until well passed what
- 24:35Speaker 3: they thought he would to I think it was twenty
- 24:37Speaker 3: two or twenty. I think he's the same age a
- 24:39Speaker 3: Spencer and spent twenty three next month.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So at what point did Slade no longer spend time
- 24:56Speaker 2: with his his boys?
- 24:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I think his older boy, he would see they're from
- 25:02Speaker 3: two different mothers, the oldest one. I think that he
- 25:05Speaker 3: would continue to see now and then.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And then also you start to see a different side
- 25:09Speaker 2: of Slade as we get into this episode.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Where's a bornderline movie star, a borderline movie star in
- 25:16Speaker 4: his mind? Like, who says they think they're a borderline
- 25:20Speaker 4: movie star? Well, you know what I heard?
- 25:23Speaker 3: What I heard when she got offered Ultimate Girls Trip
- 25:27Speaker 3: he said, Yeah, I don't know allegedly. I don't know
- 25:31Speaker 3: if I can sign this contract because I have so
- 25:33Speaker 3: many things in the pipeline. I have a production company,
- 25:36Speaker 3: and I just don't know if it's a good idea
- 25:38Speaker 3: for me to film himself.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Yes, slave, they didn't ask you that, and you're in
- 25:46Speaker 4: every instance story I know.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Like, shut the fuck up, you are dying to film dying.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Well, then we get to Vicky leaves for a cruise
- 25:59Speaker 4: with Breonna for her senior trip. She leaves Lauri in
- 26:02Speaker 4: charge at work while she's gone, where her daughter Ashley
- 26:04Speaker 4: has started working as well. Okay, was this was this
- 26:09Speaker 4: vacation filmed on Vicki's iPhone?
- 26:12Speaker 3: It looked like it.
- 26:13Speaker 4: I mean this was what four iPhones?
- 26:14Speaker 3: I don't even think they had iPhone?
- 26:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so on her mother.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Flip flip it on the it was on yes on
- 26:20Speaker 3: the flip.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Because it clearly wasn't like true production going on this.
- 26:25Speaker 3: But the Vicky used to be a huge cruise person.
- 26:29Speaker 3: I do not like organized fun. I will never probably
- 26:34Speaker 3: ever go.
- 26:35Speaker 4: On a cruise. Now I'm going to make you go
- 26:37Speaker 4: on a cruise. I've always wanted to go and I
- 26:39Speaker 4: never have.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I am not going a high end cruise.
- 26:42Speaker 4: You can go on and I'm gonna make you have
- 26:44Speaker 4: organ I like cattle in there. Listen. I feel like
- 26:48Speaker 4: there's particular ones that we could go on.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Okay, I'll try anything once. So I went on one
- 26:53Speaker 3: when I was like twenty one with a friend and
- 26:56Speaker 3: we went to like Mexico Masllana. The only reason I
- 26:58Speaker 3: went is because her her and boyfriend broke up. It
- 27:01Speaker 3: was already paid for.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Your the two teas take it to the sea. That
- 27:08Speaker 4: could be our new show, to Teas on the Sea,
- 27:11Speaker 4: To Teas on the Sea, you know what. And the
- 27:13Speaker 4: worst houseolive drama always happens on the sea. So okay.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Then we get to this part is where you realize,
- 27:21Speaker 2: like how open Laurie seems like she might be the
- 27:24Speaker 2: most forthcoming about her life of anybody.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Laurie's son Josh gets into trouble at school.
- 27:30Speaker 2: She's She's at Vicki's home office at the time that
- 27:33Speaker 2: she gets a call from school. She shares that he
- 27:36Speaker 2: started drinking in the seventh grade and has struggled with
- 27:39Speaker 2: drugs and alcohol since. Laurie goes to visit him in
- 27:42Speaker 2: juvenile hall and doesn't how long know how long he'll
- 27:46Speaker 2: be there for I mean the fact that he's already
- 27:50Speaker 2: drinking to that extent at that age.
- 27:54Speaker 3: You know, Laurie is raising his daughter.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Oh gosh.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and every once in a while on Instagram. I
- 28:02Speaker 3: ran into her daughter Ashley at A's last week. Vicky, me,
- 28:08Speaker 3: VICKI and Shannon, We're having dinner there.
- 28:11Speaker 4: She was there.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Ace is a restaurant right by Javiers and Crystal cow
- 28:14Speaker 3: right there, so we ran into her.
- 28:17Speaker 4: So beautiful.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I mean, she had not one look of makeup on.
- 28:20Speaker 3: She was with her boyfriend. Just absolutely beautiful. And I
- 28:24Speaker 3: think she yeah, she said she lives in Newport now,
- 28:27Speaker 3: but it was just so sad. There's been a lot
- 28:30Speaker 3: of things that have gone on, and George and Laurie
- 28:34Speaker 3: are raising his daughter.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, we need to have Laurie on because.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I let's talk about go ahead.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I really like laur Like when I'm watching this because
- 28:44Speaker 2: I have no actual skin in this game at all,
- 28:48Speaker 2: I'm going and completely fresh. There's no one I know,
- 28:51Speaker 2: I mean other than Vicky. But I really liked Laurie. Yeah,
- 28:56Speaker 2: Like I was like, listen.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Andy loves Laurie.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I really I watch her. I want to know more
- 29:02Speaker 4: about her.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I want to now now that I have the time,
- 29:05Speaker 2: go find out who the ex husband is, why he
- 29:07Speaker 2: put her in the situation that she was in.
- 29:11Speaker 4: You can see how.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Much she loves her kids, and then just even seeing
- 29:14Speaker 2: the daughter in the backseat of the car sleeping while
- 29:17Speaker 2: she's going into juvenile hall to talk to her son.
- 29:19Speaker 4: All of it. But then even how raw is that though?
- 29:22Speaker 4: I know, And then even when you see Josh's confessionals,
- 29:25Speaker 4: he's so raw. I know. You can tell her she
- 29:28Speaker 4: just wants to help and feel better, and she's.
- 29:31Speaker 3: And she honestly has tried so many things throughout the years.
- 29:35Speaker 3: George is a wonderful husband to her. I went to
- 29:37Speaker 3: their wedding. I can't wait to recap that. It was
- 29:40Speaker 3: very beautiful. They have an amazing house in San Juan
- 29:42Speaker 3: Capistrano and it was in their backyard, so beautiful.
- 29:46Speaker 4: So she has a good husband, She has.
- 29:47Speaker 3: A great husband, her husband, she has a great life.
- 29:50Speaker 4: When she came back on and was a friend, was
- 29:53Speaker 4: she with the husband.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Yeah, the new husband? Yeah?
- 29:56Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, yeah, the new husband. All right.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Then we get to VICKI talking to her Michael about
- 30:01Speaker 2: how he needs to get a job and get better grades.
- 30:03Speaker 2: He was on academic probation and didn't do well his
- 30:05Speaker 2: first year in college at the number one party school
- 30:08Speaker 2: in the country. Well, clearly, like I just watched Bama Rush,
- 30:11Speaker 2: Like you're going to the number one party school.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Yeah, the focus is not on grades.
- 30:16Speaker 3: No, no, And Michael has come a long way. He
- 30:19Speaker 3: has he now works for Vicki and has.
- 30:23Speaker 2: But now that I have a real office, not I
- 30:25Speaker 2: mean not I mean I have an office in my home,
- 30:27Speaker 2: not in a real one.
- 30:28Speaker 3: You know what. She does have an office in Irvine,
- 30:31Speaker 3: and I always tell her, why why do you want
- 30:33Speaker 3: the overhead? You're never in town? What are you doing?
- 30:37Speaker 4: Sometimes I want I don't necessarily want a formal office,
- 30:40Speaker 4: but I want like a nap office, like a place
- 30:43Speaker 4: where I can go and just rest away from my family.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Okay, would you would love Eddie? You would love Eddie's office.
- 30:49Speaker 3: So we have a big Veena office in Irvine that
- 30:52Speaker 3: we share with our partners. It's huge, and Eddie wanted
- 30:58Speaker 3: something closer, so we just got to office right here
- 31:01Speaker 3: close to our house where he does the Venus stuff.
- 31:03Speaker 3: But there's also like a bedroom with a full bathroom
- 31:06Speaker 3: in it.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Oh see, I just want well, I just recently got
- 31:10Speaker 2: which has been a game changer. I just got one
- 31:12Speaker 2: of those walking treadmills so I can watch the podcast
- 31:16Speaker 2: on my desk and do you like it? I cannot
- 31:20Speaker 2: tell you, guys, I send me is not an ad.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It is so awesome because sometimes I realize that this
- 31:26Speaker 2: is our job. But sometimes when you're watching so much
- 31:29Speaker 2: television for work, you're like, what is my life? And
- 31:33Speaker 2: at least if i'm you have to.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Get up, move well, Sophia once one and I'm like,
- 31:38Speaker 3: if we have a treadmill, we already have a stationary bike.
- 31:40Speaker 3: We get a treadmill, are you going to use it?
- 31:42Speaker 4: I doubt it?
- 31:43Speaker 3: And I don't want to spend three thousand dollars for
- 31:45Speaker 3: you know, it's.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Not that expensive. It's like eight hundred and fifty dollars
- 31:48Speaker 4: for the desk and the walk house fast.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Can you walk?
- 31:51Speaker 4: You can walk to like a four four five?
- 31:53Speaker 3: Oh that's not bad.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 31:54Speaker 3: Can you pull handles up or they I didn't.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Get one that you pull handles up because the desk,
- 32:00Speaker 2: if you want the dish is really starty sequently on it.
- 32:02Speaker 4: But like my kids use it and do their homework
- 32:04Speaker 4: from it.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Because now It's so talked about with like kid kids
- 32:08Speaker 2: having this extra.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Energy when they do their work, Like at school. They
- 32:11Speaker 4: even have swivel chairs for like the kids.
- 32:14Speaker 2: So I mean they love it. We all love it also.
- 32:18Speaker 2: But the link something I also need to ask you.
- 32:21Speaker 2: One of my favorite parts of this episode was when
- 32:24Speaker 2: Vicky was talking about liking the finer things in life
- 32:27Speaker 2: and then she was boiling hot dogs.
- 32:30Speaker 3: I didn't notice that, but that is a good notice
- 32:33Speaker 3: right there, the finer things. And who could you? I mean,
- 32:37Speaker 3: you have kids, little kids, and I mean hot dogs
- 32:40Speaker 3: have not been a part of my grocery list in
- 32:43Speaker 3: twenty years.
- 32:44Speaker 4: I don't think my kids love there's this. Guys. They yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 4: they love turkey dogs, but they love like this one
- 32:52Speaker 4: place called the stand, which is near where we live.
- 32:55Speaker 3: We have the stand.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Oh you have the stand.
- 32:57Speaker 3: We go there once a week.
- 32:58Speaker 4: And now Alwa's like, can we please get a chili dog?
- 33:01Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh my.
- 33:02Speaker 3: God, my life. Now the next time I go to
- 33:05Speaker 3: the stand, I'm gonna want a chili dog.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Oh it's so delicious.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I get the kale salad.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I do too. I get the chicken salad actually shaped
- 33:13Speaker 2: shaped chicken, the shaped chicken delicious, A little spicy chicken.
- 33:16Speaker 2: You can get too at avocado.
- 33:18Speaker 4: Uh.
- 33:19Speaker 2: But I was laughing at that because I do think
- 33:22Speaker 2: that that it reminded me of when I was younger.
- 33:25Speaker 2: My mom told you the story about when I said
- 33:27Speaker 2: I was a vegetarian, but then I would eat baloney.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Every day, not realizing now Blooney's most disgusting thing in
- 33:32Speaker 4: the world. I don't I don't even want to know
- 33:33Speaker 4: what bolooney is. My bolooney has a first name, It's
- 33:37Speaker 4: are Okay. Then Joe and Kimberly take tennis lessons.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Joe thought her boobs were big until she stood next
- 33:46Speaker 2: to Kimberly. Joe's excited to tell Slade that she made
- 33:49Speaker 2: a friend in Codo.
- 33:52Speaker 3: So what is that the Coda Decaza?
- 33:56Speaker 4: No, that tennis club? Where is that? What's it called?
- 34:00Speaker 3: Were they at Codo Tennis Club? Yeah?
- 34:02Speaker 4: I think so.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, there's actually two country clubs within Codo. You
- 34:06Speaker 3: can be a member at the main country club, I
- 34:09Speaker 3: guess you call it. And it's got golf, it's got tennis,
- 34:12Speaker 3: it's got like a restaurant that you have to pay.
- 34:16Speaker 3: We were members at the club when we live there,
- 34:19Speaker 3: so you have to pay in so much a month
- 34:22Speaker 3: and then you have to you get so much food
- 34:26Speaker 3: for what you pay. It's it's crazy.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Like you have a minimum and you it's you have
- 34:32Speaker 4: to meet.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I know, well, if I moved JCI, I want to
- 34:34Speaker 2: be a part of the one at Baba.
- 34:38Speaker 4: No is it the monarch?
- 34:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah or the rets I forget which one,
- 34:43Speaker 2: but the one that's on the beach. Yeah, that one is.
- 34:46Speaker 2: I've gone with friends and it is so amazing. It's
- 34:49Speaker 2: like true oc on the water.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Oh, I'll join too.
- 34:53Speaker 3: So basically, there's no money exchange at the country club.
- 34:56Speaker 3: You go in, you get your food. If you do
- 34:58Speaker 3: not meet your minimum, you still have to pay x
- 35:00Speaker 3: amount a month.
- 35:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's exactly how this one is too. Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 4: But then Vicky talks about how she's frustrated.
- 35:11Speaker 2: With Laurie because there's something going on with her. She
- 35:14Speaker 2: wants to see more effort and ambition from Laurie at work.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Vicky tells Laurie that she needs to dress conservative for
- 35:20Speaker 2: their work trip.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Should Vicky have like been slightly more.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Impassive as Vicky Vicky's bros draps were hanging over her shoulders.
- 35:28Speaker 3: We need to dress more conservatively. Yeah, okay, Vicky with
- 35:31Speaker 3: your bras straps and your turquoise shirt on.
- 35:33Speaker 4: And hanging low and low.
- 35:37Speaker 3: So keep this in mind. Laurie did come back to
- 35:41Speaker 3: Orange County as a friend, and she said she never
- 35:44Speaker 3: worked for Vicky. Actually she was never paid Vicky. Vicky
- 35:49Speaker 3: said she did pay Lourie because she signed her paychecks,
- 35:52Speaker 3: but Laurie said, I never got paid.
- 35:55Speaker 4: So that was all for show.
- 35:57Speaker 3: I think, so.
- 36:00Speaker 4: We should get Ashley onto we mean Laurie.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yeah, actually yes, because it's like, you can't just do
- 36:07Speaker 3: insurance if you don't have a license. So was she like, Okay, Laurie,
- 36:11Speaker 3: come work for me, but go get your life.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Was she the assistant or was she was she Vicki's
- 36:16Speaker 4: Are we supposed to believe she was Vicki's assistant or
- 36:18Speaker 4: she was one of her agents? Huh m hm, So
- 36:23Speaker 4: it was it was.
- 36:24Speaker 3: We could say it was a totally different show back then,
- 36:26Speaker 3: mainly focused on individual individual stories, not so much group.
- 36:30Speaker 3: I think the only group thing that we saw was
- 36:33Speaker 3: Joe going to play oh, go to lunch with Kimberly.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Also Kimberly's friend.
- 36:40Speaker 2: So far Kimberly is the one I'm I'm not connecting
- 36:43Speaker 2: with the most.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Well, she was only on one season, so and then.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I'm not the only one.
- 36:49Speaker 3: So we got a little a taste of Laura Lai.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Do you remember Laura li That was Laurie's friend. Oh yeah,
- 36:56Speaker 3: and she was an unofficial friend like he was on
- 37:00Speaker 3: a lot during the first few seasons, but she was.
- 37:03Speaker 3: I don't I doubt she was paid for it.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Yeah, she seems like she seems the type. I mean,
- 37:10Speaker 4: here's what I can say.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I do appreciate as we're going back in time and listen, guys,
- 37:16Speaker 2: we will go back and do Beverly Hills as well.
- 37:18Speaker 2: We just wanted to start with OC because I need
- 37:21Speaker 2: to really get to know my co host.
- 37:23Speaker 4: I feel like I'm at a unfair advantage.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Did you ever watched early Orange County?
- 37:30Speaker 4: When?
- 37:30Speaker 3: Did you know?
- 37:31Speaker 4: What?
- 37:31Speaker 1: Was?
- 37:32Speaker 4: I watched the only seat I think I watched.
- 37:35Speaker 2: So I didn't start watching Orange County until I my
- 37:40Speaker 2: first season was done filming of Beverly Hills. Then I
- 37:43Speaker 2: started watching the other shows, so later, yeah, so later.
- 37:46Speaker 4: So I don't know anything. I mean, I know, I'm
- 37:50Speaker 4: like towards like the bron one Orange County days.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Oh wow, you're You're Yeah, you're recent, You're more recent.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I I did appreciate how I think
- 37:59Speaker 2: that the relationship for formed here. But I mean, I'm
- 38:03Speaker 2: gonna have to keep watching and we're gonna have to
- 38:05Speaker 2: really dig in.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not really excited about season three on because
- 38:11Speaker 3: I'll be honest with you, I have never gone back
- 38:14Speaker 3: and watched them ever, especially like tamrazocen wedding in the
- 38:18Speaker 3: earlier seasons, I had white fried hair and I was
- 38:22Speaker 3: so tan. I'm like, I don't even want to look
- 38:25Speaker 3: at that.
- 38:26Speaker 4: You know what, I'm excited to watch that. I cannot wait.
- 38:31Speaker 3: I can wait, I can wait.
- 38:34Speaker 2: There is one person that I needed to know exactly
- 38:37Speaker 2: what he's doing and what he's up to.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Is the guy Slade went to go meet at the end. Yeah,
- 38:45Speaker 4: what was his name? I don't know, but taking the phone,
- 38:50Speaker 4: like honestly watching him, I was like, is that Randal Emmett?
- 38:53Speaker 4: I need that guy.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Was a very successful and you'll see him later on
- 38:58Speaker 3: in the season, very successful mortgage broker. At the time,
- 39:03Speaker 3: his wife was in and out of the show. I
- 39:06Speaker 3: remember she drove like a big lifted truck that had
- 39:09Speaker 3: like it was either pink or the wheels were pink
- 39:11Speaker 3: or something crazy like that. I can't remember her name,
- 39:14Speaker 3: but you know that was the error where if you
- 39:17Speaker 3: were a mortgage broker or a real estate agent, you
- 39:20Speaker 3: were killing it. You were making seven figures easy. And
- 39:24Speaker 3: it's the people that were true professionals after the market crashed,
- 39:28Speaker 3: still stayed in business. So also known as Slade Smiley unemployed.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Loved him.
