- 0:21Speaker 2: We are excited to bring on guests Captain Sandy and
- 0:25Speaker 2: her wife Leah. Captain Sandy is a world renowned captain
- 0:28Speaker 2: in the yachting industry and is currently the captain on
- 0:31Speaker 2: Bravlo TV's reality hit Below Deck Mediterranean.
- 0:34Speaker 3: She's been on the show for eight seasons and.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Even though the drama is never ending, Captain Sandy keeps
- 0:40Speaker 2: a close eye on her crew so she can steer
- 0:43Speaker 2: them in the right direction. Leah has her own business
- 0:46Speaker 2: called Skin by Leah that was founded in twenty seventeen.
- 0:51Speaker 2: She's the founder and owner of a medical spa in
- 0:53Speaker 2: Colorado and a certified Matt Cosmetics makeup artist. She prevently
- 0:57Speaker 2: worked in sales at Nordstrum her romance with Sandy. Leo
- 1:01Speaker 2: was married to entertainer Ross Schaeffer for twenty years. They
- 1:05Speaker 2: welcomed daughter Lauren before they're split, and then Sandy and
- 1:08Speaker 2: Leah met in twenty eighteen when Leah reached out to
- 1:11Speaker 2: Sandy on social media about her hit Bravo series. In
- 1:15Speaker 2: twenty twenty, Sandy moved to Colorado to be closer to
- 1:18Speaker 2: her girlfriend. In September twenty twenty three, Sandy proposed to
- 1:22Speaker 2: Leah after five years of dating, and May twenty twenty four,
- 1:25Speaker 2: they got married.
- 1:26Speaker 4: She slid into her DMS and it were slid into
- 1:30Speaker 4: her DMS and made it happen. And how nice to
- 1:34Speaker 4: have a makeup artist as your wife.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I would love it. Could you imagine
- 1:41Speaker 2: how much better we'd look on the daily?
- 1:43Speaker 4: Oh God, let's bring them in the twat seat.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Hi, Hi, how's it.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Going, guys?
- 1:49Speaker 6: Where are you guys?
- 1:50Speaker 4: Not on a ship?
- 1:52Speaker 5: No order, little lore because you're taller than me. Right now,
- 1:55Speaker 5: it can't happen.
- 1:58Speaker 4: This struggle is real.
- 2:00Speaker 5: It's damn.
- 2:01Speaker 4: We were just teddy and I were just saying how
- 2:03Speaker 4: wonderful it would be to be married to a makeup artist.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Oh yeah, to be able to Oh man, we would
- 2:10Speaker 4: look so much better on it daily.
- 2:12Speaker 5: You always, oh I know. I was just finishing up
- 2:15Speaker 5: and she was like, babe, can hurry up and do
- 2:17Speaker 5: my makeup too? I was like, well, okay.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Well we were just talking that. The way that you
- 2:23Speaker 2: guys met was you slid into her DMS.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Yeah, pretty much.
- 2:28Speaker 6: How how long.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Did it take you to respond?
- 2:32Speaker 5: Six months?
- 2:34Speaker 6: Six months?
- 2:35Speaker 4: Well, it was it was it Facebook?
- 2:38Speaker 1: Was it?
- 2:38Speaker 5: Facebook?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Book?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't check my dms on Facebook.
- 2:42Speaker 5: I think it was just she didn't see it.
- 2:44Speaker 7: And honestly, I said, congrats on your show, many blessings,
- 2:48Speaker 7: like it wasn't that's it?
- 2:50Speaker 5: Yeah, that was it? And then what did you say
- 2:53Speaker 5: about I clicked it on the link and she was singing,
- 2:56Speaker 5: and at the time, I was doing the I Believe
- 2:57Speaker 5: tour and I thought, well, yeah, the Bronco.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Game, like the national anthem, and she's like, oh my gosh,
- 3:04Speaker 7: your boys, I want to meet you.
- 3:05Speaker 5: We should do something inspiring, we Matt and that was it. Yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 5: love at first sight.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Wow, I can relate to that.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that.
- 3:18Speaker 2: There has been so much drama in the Below Deck franchise.
- 3:23Speaker 2: What do you think of the season?
- 3:26Speaker 5: So, you know, I don't really see a lot of
- 3:28Speaker 5: it until I watched the show. So wow, Joe, Okay, Like,
- 3:33Speaker 5: let's talk about Joe. Yeah, he's a player. Player.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I feel like everybody on the ships a player. Most
- 3:41Speaker 4: of the time. Everybody's sleeping with everybody. I'm sure that
- 3:43Speaker 4: happens a lot since you guys spend so much time
- 3:46Speaker 4: in tight quarters, I mean, not with you.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Obviously it does, but obviously, uh, they're casted so in
- 3:52Speaker 5: the you know, in the yawning world, it happens, but
- 3:55Speaker 5: they're more professional. A lot of things that you see
- 4:00Speaker 5: Donna Yacht really would never happen in a real charter
- 4:04Speaker 5: scenario or they would be fired immediately. You have to
- 4:07Speaker 5: conduct yourself in a way below decks a little different.
- 4:11Speaker 5: My industry hates the show. A lot of them are turning.
- 4:14Speaker 6: I bet.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Some of them like it because they see it's bringing
- 4:19Speaker 5: more business into the industry. At the same time, they're like,
- 4:23Speaker 5: I remember I was cruising and they go, oh, that's
- 4:26Speaker 5: the idiot TV show, and I was just.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Like, you're all things rude, that's so rude. I almost
- 4:32Speaker 4: went on below deck what was it below Deck Adventure
- 4:37Speaker 4: I think or something like that, and with another housewife
- 4:40Speaker 4: and a bunch of girls, and I ended up getting
- 4:43Speaker 4: Ultimate Girls trip and backed out and the whole thing
- 4:46Speaker 4: kind of just fell through. But I think me Teddy
- 4:48Speaker 4: and her husbands and some friends should definitely come on
- 4:51Speaker 4: the show, come on the bed, do the men.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Sandy's boat Mediterranean is it has a lot more to offer.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Who do you but had with the most? And who
- 5:02Speaker 3: would we butt heads with the most? On your I don't.
- 5:05Speaker 5: You know not? We don't really butt heads like because
- 5:08Speaker 5: we're we're a well oiled machine. So it's like the
- 5:12Speaker 5: Howl's wife shows, like we're doing a real job and
- 5:15Speaker 5: I'm not taking away from that franchise, but we're doing
- 5:17Speaker 5: a job. You have to.
- 5:19Speaker 4: We're just going to lunch and yelling at everybody.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Bringing a lot of alcohol and getting paid. Yeah, they
- 5:28Speaker 5: don't drink on the job. It's different.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Yeah, so they're not allowed to do. They can drink
- 5:34Speaker 4: after hours or not at all.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Yeah, after homes. Yeah, you see them go out, they
- 5:38Speaker 5: get drunk and hook up and try try to work
- 5:41Speaker 5: the next day. Yeah the next day.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Who do you get along the best with Leah?
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:51Speaker 5: I mean, because I'm the captain, it's not about getting along.
- 5:57Speaker 5: It's about them doing their job right. So when I
- 6:00Speaker 5: walk in a room, they they're on their best behavior.
- 6:04Speaker 5: But it's not about them getting along with me. It's
- 6:07Speaker 5: like they just have to respect the position and do
- 6:09Speaker 5: the job job. When people want to be led, they
- 6:15Speaker 5: need direction and if I give that to them, they'll
- 6:18Speaker 5: follow the direction.
- 6:19Speaker 7: Like when I went to see her, you know, I
- 6:22Speaker 7: just witness like a BLib of it. But they really
- 6:25Speaker 7: respect her as a captain and her authoritative kind of
- 6:28Speaker 7: figure in a way where she literally leads with kindness
- 6:32Speaker 7: and if somebody doesn't understand or she legitimately pulls in
- 6:37Speaker 7: aside and tries to find like their strengths and their weaknesses,
- 6:41Speaker 7: and she's like at the end of the season, they're.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Crying and hugging you, and yeah, they love working with her.
- 6:46Speaker 5: So it's kind of cool to see, yeah, because yeah,
- 6:50Speaker 5: and you know, I banter with them. I mean, we're
- 6:52Speaker 5: doing a real job. So when you're leading people, you
- 6:55Speaker 5: have to make them want to follow you, so you
- 6:58Speaker 5: create that environment where they they'll do whatever you ask.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Well, that being said, how does it affect you watching
- 7:06Speaker 2: back and seeing things that they did, you know, essentially
- 7:10Speaker 2: behind your back? You know, like a few seasons there
- 7:13Speaker 2: were crew members like sneaking alcohol on past seasons or
- 7:17Speaker 2: how do you handle that? Because I know you you
- 7:21Speaker 2: you always seem to lead with fairness and you know it,
- 7:25Speaker 2: people really love and respect you. But then watching it back,
- 7:28Speaker 2: is there something that kind of ugh, Well, when I watch.
- 7:31Speaker 5: It back, I look at all, Well, you know, they
- 7:34Speaker 5: got away with it. Who knows to them? Right, So
- 7:36Speaker 5: I don't. I don't bring it into the next season.
- 7:40Speaker 5: There are a new set of people, and I also think, oh,
- 7:43Speaker 5: what can I change about me? Because I get to
- 7:45Speaker 5: see my behavior and go wow, maybe I could pause
- 7:48Speaker 5: a little longer or give them a little more grace,
- 7:52Speaker 5: or maybe I should have fired that person a lot sooner. Yeah,
- 7:55Speaker 5: so that's the stuff, you know, like.
- 7:57Speaker 3: The last one.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Now you're you're super sweet on the show. Now who
- 8:00Speaker 4: wasn't very sweet as Captain Lee? And you took over
- 8:03Speaker 4: for Captain Lee during season ten? Blow Deck and he
- 8:07Speaker 4: tweeted he was a bit disappointed in their decision making.
- 8:11Speaker 4: How did you handle that?
- 8:12Speaker 5: Well, you know it's easy to say that from your
- 8:15Speaker 5: living room, but the reality is instead of a thank you,
- 8:17Speaker 5: I get criticism. No, I could have finished that entire
- 8:21Speaker 5: show out. Like I basically said the producer, I'm actually
- 8:27Speaker 5: leaving in two days, so you better figure it out
- 8:29Speaker 5: because I'm not going to hang around and wait until
- 8:33Speaker 5: the end of the season. It wasn't fair to me.
- 8:37Speaker 5: It was Valentine's Day when I left Lea Bzar to
- 8:39Speaker 5: be honest with you. Yeah, it was bizarre, weird. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 5: but you know, we give him grace and I have
- 8:46Speaker 5: a nice life. Enjoy whatever you're doing in life, because
- 8:50Speaker 5: I don't live my life for other people. I just
- 8:52Speaker 5: do my job. I love my industry and I will
- 8:55Speaker 5: always show up as professional professional. Yes, and that's what
- 8:58Speaker 5: I did. And it's a real charter for me. And
- 9:02Speaker 5: when I see the crew are doing their job, I
- 9:03Speaker 5: will make that correction because I do have a reputation.
- 9:07Speaker 5: I you know, I grew up in the Mediterranean as
- 9:09Speaker 5: a captain, very different standard and I love the professionalism
- 9:13Speaker 5: in the re And Leah's been to the boat shows,
- 9:16Speaker 5: is it not like next level?
- 9:18Speaker 7: At the next level, everyone's happy. But as a captain,
- 9:21Speaker 7: you know, she's in charge of lives and so you
- 9:24Speaker 7: know she that's her main priority when something happened.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Well, but if something happened, the captain is dispersed to
- 9:34Speaker 5: be arrested. Or yes, look at what happened off the
- 9:37Speaker 5: coast of Italy, you guys following that, No, what happened,
- 9:41Speaker 5: Oh my god, the chairman, the international chairman of I
- 9:45Speaker 5: think it's Golden Sacks or JP Morgan died the boat
- 9:48Speaker 5: sank right off the coast of Oh I did see
- 9:52Speaker 5: there trying to charge the captain with manslaughter?
- 9:55Speaker 4: Yeah, so oh damn No.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Yes, the storm hit the mass, the mask broke and
- 10:03Speaker 5: all of a sudden.
- 10:04Speaker 4: He's have you ever had any close calls like that?
- 10:08Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I've had fires in you know, the Red Sea.
- 10:10Speaker 5: I've had storms, I've lost engines, I've had.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Pirates, yeah, like pirates.
- 10:15Speaker 5: No, I've never been boarded by pirates, but definitely chased
- 10:18Speaker 5: by pirates and when we're passes between cub and Haiti.
- 10:21Speaker 5: But the reality is, in his case, everybody's looking at
- 10:25Speaker 5: every log they are they are inn They put crew
- 10:29Speaker 5: in different rooms and interview them. But what he did
- 10:32Speaker 5: was he created a daisy chain and they held hands.
- 10:35Speaker 5: And imagine a boat getting hit by a storm, a
- 10:38Speaker 5: waterspot getting flipped on the side. How many people were
- 10:41Speaker 5: knocked unconscious? So the crew were actually on deck because
- 10:45Speaker 5: of the storm putting cushions away, they were actually all
- 10:49Speaker 5: on deck. So when that happened, they did a daisy
- 10:53Speaker 5: chain where they held hands. Like we're trained to go
- 10:55Speaker 5: in and search for people, and I've.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Been what's a daisy train?
- 11:01Speaker 5: So the daisy train is where you connect hands like
- 11:04Speaker 5: uh huh, you're holding hands so nobody gets lost. Okay,
- 11:09Speaker 5: walk in and someone keeps their hand on a surface
- 11:12Speaker 5: so you can because imagine pitch black, major storm boat's
- 11:16Speaker 5: moving around, things are floating, right, they got to go
- 11:19Speaker 5: find people. Freak out. Freak out.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's scary people.
- 11:23Speaker 5: There's no lights, right, so you can't see your hand
- 11:25Speaker 5: in front of your face.
- 11:26Speaker 3: No, in your opinion, there's nothing he could have done differently.
- 11:30Speaker 5: He did everything that he trained for and so he
- 11:34Speaker 5: should be you know, a hero and not criticized. Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 5: So back to Captain Lee.
- 11:40Speaker 7: You know, she was just there really to support him,
- 11:42Speaker 7: and he wasn't well, you know, having surgery and I
- 11:47Speaker 7: just want to make sure he was okay to come back.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Yeah, and he wasn't very nissed to me.
- 11:51Speaker 3: And then have you talked to him at all since this?
- 11:53Speaker 5: I have no relationship with him, nor do I want
- 11:55Speaker 5: one to be honest like they got answer. He's never
- 11:58Speaker 5: supported me.
- 11:59Speaker 4: He's always zero tolerance. That's how I women.
- 12:01Speaker 5: At the helm, and he is that from that generation
- 12:04Speaker 5: where men where women belong, they don't belong at the helm.
- 12:07Speaker 5: That's his mentality.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Oh really, Oh yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Well, speaking of how do you feel gender equality is
- 12:25Speaker 2: right now in yachting, did you experience like any misogyny
- 12:29Speaker 2: or homophobia at all during your career?
- 12:31Speaker 1: Oh?
- 12:32Speaker 5: Yeah, of course. I wasn't hired because I was a
- 12:34Speaker 5: woman for a job. The manager actually told me that,
- 12:37Speaker 5: and I was like, that's sad. But the great news
- 12:39Speaker 5: is because I didn't get uh you know job, I
- 12:43Speaker 5: got the best job ever working for a founder of
- 12:45Speaker 5: the bank who was the best person I ever worked for.
- 12:48Speaker 5: And if that job didn't turn me down, there's always
- 12:52Speaker 5: a door of opportunity that opens when one closes. So
- 12:55Speaker 5: I never looked at it and like it's towards me
- 12:57Speaker 5: when things say when things are shut down, that's because
- 13:01Speaker 5: there's a better opportunity, and that's the way I look
- 13:03Speaker 5: at it.
- 13:03Speaker 4: But it is very you're a very positive person, I know. Yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 4: you sound like I have. My husband's exactly like yeah, so.
- 13:11Speaker 5: But the cool thing is is the Blue Deck franchise
- 13:15Speaker 5: is the women that they have, they have they can
- 13:18Speaker 5: do this job, and it's changing our industry, which I love.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Well, speaking of women, we saw that there was a
- 13:26Speaker 2: little bit of bad fallout with Hannah on the and
- 13:29Speaker 2: the show during season five. Do you look back and
- 13:33Speaker 2: think you could have done anything differently or have you
- 13:36Speaker 2: talked to her?
- 13:37Speaker 5: Of course, I saw Hannah in Australia. We had a
- 13:39Speaker 5: great conversation. There were a lot of things I did
- 13:42Speaker 5: not know, I wasn't aware of. Hannah wasn't aware of
- 13:46Speaker 5: a lot of stuff. We were able to clear the air.
- 13:50Speaker 5: And I never not liked Hannah. I actually like Hannah
- 13:54Speaker 5: and really care for her. So we have a great
- 13:56Speaker 5: relationship today. We're in a good place. And when I
- 13:59Speaker 5: look back on the show, So what I did was
- 14:03Speaker 5: I called my maritime attorney immediately because we're being filmed.
- 14:09Speaker 5: He said, you fire her now?
- 14:12Speaker 3: Oh because right, so smart to do that.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Most decisions I make that are based on decision makings
- 14:22Speaker 5: for CAP. I call my I have my maritime attorney
- 14:25Speaker 5: on speed dial, because you know, God forbid, something catastrophic happened.
- 14:30Speaker 5: And there they take all of our blood, by the way,
- 14:33Speaker 5: the minute someone gets hurt or dies, like they'll come
- 14:36Speaker 5: in take all the cruise blood. See who's on drugs?
- 14:38Speaker 5: Who was it? Because none of us?
- 14:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well, speaking of you, you've overcome addiction.
- 14:46Speaker 3: You're thirty five year anniversary of sobriety.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Correct, Yes, congratulations relations, Yes, that's what.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Ever, what advice would you give to anyone struggling just.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Go?
- 15:03Speaker 5: My advice would be go to a meeting, get a
- 15:05Speaker 5: sponsor worth those twelve steps, and if you're in dire need,
- 15:08Speaker 5: call that one eight hundred number. Just google it, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 5: call alcoholics Anonymous, arcotics anonymous, any one of those organizations
- 15:18Speaker 5: or associations, whatever it's called. But the reality is it's
- 15:22Speaker 5: like it's there, but you got to want it, you know,
- 15:25Speaker 5: for so many years want it. I just kept relapsing.
- 15:28Speaker 7: And it's for every and every day, like you don't
- 15:30Speaker 7: just let go and then like oh I'm better.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Yeah, it's an every day. It's a daily reprieve contingent
- 15:35Speaker 5: on the maintenance of your conditions mentally, spiritually and physically.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Do you do you with maintenance? Do you still go
- 15:41Speaker 4: to meetings?
- 15:42Speaker 5: Or I need to go to Mores? Actually thinking this morning,
- 15:46Speaker 5: like I need to because Lee and I just moved
- 15:48Speaker 5: to this area. I was really established in la I
- 15:51Speaker 5: loved the meetings there, got a great sponsor. I haven't
- 15:53Speaker 5: really found my roots. I think I was in Colorado,
- 15:56Speaker 5: just didn't find my roots. I'm going to do that
- 15:59Speaker 5: here today to myself, I'm going to go I need
- 16:02Speaker 5: to find a home group and I need to do
- 16:04Speaker 5: I need to do the work in order to maintain
- 16:07Speaker 5: that level of peace.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Yeah, has other Bravo celebrities reached out to you about
- 16:13Speaker 4: getting sober? It was, well, I was gonna say, I
- 16:17Speaker 4: kind I vaguely remember because I'm friends with Bronwin her
- 16:20Speaker 4: saying that she reached out to you.
- 16:22Speaker 7: She reached out to me first, and then I said,
- 16:25Speaker 7: oh hey, babe, there's this girl. She was on the
- 16:27Speaker 7: Housewive show and bron Win and she right away they connected,
- 16:31Speaker 7: and yeah, she talks about.
- 16:34Speaker 4: It a lot on her social media.
- 16:37Speaker 5: I just did a cameo for a thirty year old
- 16:41Speaker 5: who has one year sober. I gave him my phone
- 16:43Speaker 5: number because it's like, wow, yeah, she always gives out
- 16:46Speaker 5: her phone number. I'm like, can you not give back
- 16:47Speaker 5: your phone?
- 16:48Speaker 2: Un Eddie.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Eddie did that when he was having his heart issues.
- 16:51Speaker 4: He would other people will call and they'd start talking.
- 16:53Speaker 4: He's like, here's my number, just call me and I'm like.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Really, but they do they do. I'm just like, wow,
- 16:58Speaker 5: you're so brave because you know, right, well.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Well, I wouldn't do that, but my husband would. Yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 4: my husband's a lot like you are you positive?
- 17:08Speaker 3: And then to switch over to Leah a little bit.
- 17:11Speaker 2: You had like a very successful career in gospel music
- 17:15Speaker 2: which changed after your relationship with Sandy became public. How
- 17:21Speaker 2: did you cope with the backlash and what has kept
- 17:25Speaker 2: you strong through this transition?
- 17:28Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 17:28Speaker 5: It was super hard. I actually led worship at Saddleback
- 17:31Speaker 5: Church for eighteen.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 17:34Speaker 7: Yeah really yeah, I was a main singer at Saddleback
- 17:37Speaker 7: for like eighteen years.
- 17:38Speaker 5: And Rick Warren and actually they were the one in
- 17:41Speaker 5: Lake Forest. Yeah, in Like Forest.
- 17:43Speaker 4: That's the first notch that I started going to.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Yeah, so when they first opened their worship center and
- 17:48Speaker 7: it was they're amazing, Like, I have nothing bad to
- 17:52Speaker 7: say about that.
- 17:53Speaker 4: So did you let You lived in Orange County?
- 17:55Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 17:55Speaker 4: Yeah, where'd you live?
- 17:56Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 17:57Speaker 5: I lived in Newport Beach or Vine Ludara Ranch, Covenant.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Hill, Darrow, That's where I live.
- 18:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Yeah, And I was friends with Dana Hills Covenant Hills.
- 18:04Speaker 7: Yeah, And so you know, I became friends with like
- 18:08Speaker 7: Gretchen and Gina and the whole thing because they came
- 18:11Speaker 7: to church.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Yeah, a lot So what year was that. Oh gosh,
- 18:16Speaker 5: I've been going to Saddleback Church since like nineteen ninety three,
- 18:21Speaker 5: so I was like seventeen years old. Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 7: But then from there I got because they were so big,
- 18:26Speaker 7: I got my launch, and I toured and got on
- 18:28Speaker 7: TV and praise the Lord Joyce Meyer's church Doelstein like,
- 18:32Speaker 7: I went, did like a tour finally.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Say President Obamatland President book.
- 18:36Speaker 7: Yeah, finally, finally though music like on the Christian radio occasions.
- 18:41Speaker 7: But I was so just like didn't want to be
- 18:45Speaker 7: with my husband at the time, and I just was
- 18:47Speaker 7: tormented with my identity, I guess you would say. And
- 18:51Speaker 7: so finally I just I knew that it would come
- 18:54Speaker 7: to an end. I didn't know how brutal it would be,
- 18:57Speaker 7: but when I came out with Sandy, it would come
- 18:59Speaker 7: crashing down, and it did, but everyone was super nice
- 19:03Speaker 7: and supportive for the majority.
- 19:05Speaker 5: I just couldn't be on a platform again and sing again.
- 19:08Speaker 5: So I kind of had to reinvent myself and start
- 19:10Speaker 5: over at what well forty eight at the time. But
- 19:14Speaker 5: which and I'm doing fine.
- 19:15Speaker 7: The beauty industry saved me, yeah, you know, and I'm creating,
- 19:18Speaker 7: creating a new product line and open my skin studio
- 19:21Speaker 7: and you just kind of become resilient.
- 19:24Speaker 5: She picked herself up, brush herself. Let's keep going.
- 19:27Speaker 4: That's what strong women do.
- 19:29Speaker 3: It's a strong woman do.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Now, you guys got married recently. Did you have any
- 19:34Speaker 4: Bravo lubs at the wedding?
- 19:36Speaker 5: Asia and Kate Chastain and Chef Dave. Chef Dave, we
- 19:42Speaker 5: could only have like fifty five people. Yeah, we had
- 19:45Speaker 5: sixty I think total, but that was what the camera
- 19:48Speaker 5: people included everyone because we actually left the doc.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Yeah, so you got married on the on the boat yees, Yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 4: of course you did.
- 19:57Speaker 7: We did write oursel and they they you know, available

- 20:33Speaker 7: I think you ordered for the body it's like that
- 20:37Speaker 7: body bonding bronzing cream. Ye partnered with the founder of that,
- 20:42Speaker 7: and we're creating a face, neck and chest together and
- 20:45Speaker 7: we named it Bear it All.
- 20:46Speaker 5: So we'll send you guys some and see it.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Oh yes, So it's like a bronzing time for the
- 20:52Speaker 4: chest up and so it matches the rest of your body.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I love that. So I'm very I'm irish, so very
- 20:58Speaker 4: white and freckly.
- 21:00Speaker 5: I hate it meaning.
- 21:01Speaker 4: And you look like you have nice skin.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I have it on.
- 21:05Speaker 7: I have this on just because I'm so discolored from
- 21:07Speaker 7: all the sun damage from living in California.
- 21:10Speaker 4: And yeah, well I just burnt all my skin off
- 21:12Speaker 4: my face, neck and chest. The way I was a
- 21:16Speaker 4: little brutal, but I'm coming wickedly painful, I would say. Well,
- 21:23Speaker 4: I went in to get a brow lift and the
- 21:24Speaker 4: doctor recommended doing the CO two laser with the Obaji
- 21:27Speaker 4: blue peel. And I was more worried about the CO
- 21:31Speaker 4: two laser because I had one in the office which
- 21:33Speaker 4: wasn't as deep as the one I got when I
- 21:35Speaker 4: was put under and I swoll up pretty bad. But
- 21:40Speaker 4: this one, oh my god, Yes, day three, I was
- 21:44Speaker 4: not a happy camper. It was miserable.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Day one seeing you Blue, I was Day one wasn't
- 21:52Speaker 2: too bad on the skin part.
- 21:54Speaker 4: My head hurt from the the browlift, but the day
- 21:57Speaker 4: three from the peel or the CO two laser, I
- 22:01Speaker 4: felt like what I would only imagine what a burn
- 22:03Speaker 4: victim felt like. It was just God, the deck was
- 22:07Speaker 4: the most painful because.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It was probably so well, please send us, send us
- 22:12Speaker 2: your product, and how do they buy?
- 22:14Speaker 3: How do people buy it?
- 22:15Speaker 5: Yeah, so it'll be be a skin dot com. But
- 22:18Speaker 5: I'll do the whole like think and all that.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Yeah, but I'd love some.
- 22:23Speaker 7: And Teddy, thank you for your you know, being a
- 22:25Speaker 7: spokesperson as well and your camera of melanoma and skin cancer.
- 22:29Speaker 7: You know, I lost my aunt melanoma and just that's
- 22:32Speaker 7: why I'm in the skin industry, because I do like
- 22:35Speaker 7: to educate, because it can be life or death. And yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 7: why another reason I like to create these products is
- 22:41Speaker 7: because you know, we try to get our skin even
- 22:44Speaker 7: to look beautiful.
- 22:45Speaker 5: And there's other ways than tanning beds and lane in
- 22:47Speaker 5: the sun.
- 22:48Speaker 2: You know, baked.
- 22:51Speaker 4: In tanning beds. Both Teddy and I did baked in them.
- 22:53Speaker 5: And oyl wet and wild.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, like the stickers on ourselves, have a little sticker.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and I ended up getting melanoma on my butt.
- 23:05Speaker 4: So and I was in a G string girl, So
- 23:07Speaker 4: it was definitely from the tanning beds.
- 23:11Speaker 5: Yeah for sure. Yeah, well the Burvine Spectrum tanning beds.
- 23:15Speaker 4: I used to work for a tanning bed in my twenties,
- 23:18Speaker 4: like a company.
- 23:18Speaker 2: We would like go put the we'd go and like
- 23:20Speaker 2: we had our like cards where we'd be like, yeah,
- 23:23Speaker 2: now we get a free tan, like I would tan
- 23:26Speaker 2: and then Mystic tan on top of it, Like I
- 23:29Speaker 2: was like, I'm an orange person, Like what am I doing?
- 23:32Speaker 4: You had a tanning bed in your bedroom, Teddy?
- 23:34Speaker 3: I know, well yeah when I was a kid.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Like my parents got divorced and my mom like
- 23:40Speaker 2: got the tanning bed, yes, and then there was only
- 23:43Speaker 2: room for it in my room and then I.
- 23:45Speaker 4: So that's where you slept pretty.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Much like all my friends would come home on tan
- 23:50Speaker 2: every day, Like it was crazy.
- 23:53Speaker 3: But we appreciate you guys so much coming on the
- 23:55Speaker 3: pot seat.
- 23:56Speaker 4: And then I'm sure we'll see you at Pravo Con
- 23:59Speaker 4: next year.
