Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Two Teas in a Pod with Teddy Mellencamp and Tamara Judge.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hi, guys.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Welcome to another episode of The Twat Seat with myself,
- 0:13Speaker 3: Teddy Mellencamp.
- 0:14Speaker 4: And Tamara Judge.
- 0:16Speaker 3: And we have two very special guests on today. The
- 0:18Speaker 3: first one is Elizabeth Chambers. She is the owner of
- 0:23Speaker 3: Bird Bakery and the host of the show Toxic on ID. HBO, Max,
- 0:28Speaker 3: and Hulu. A mom of two children divorced after being
- 0:31Speaker 3: married to Armie Hammer for 10 years.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Oh, scandal.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 0:36Speaker 3: And now she's the new co-host of the podcast Dash.
- 0:41Speaker 4: We also have Marissa Hermer. Marissa Hermer is a divorced
- 0:44Speaker 4: mother of three children and three dogs, but you may
- 0:47Speaker 4: recognize her from the TV show Ladies of London. She
- 0:51Speaker 4: also owns a restaurant in Palm Springs and now a
- 0:54Speaker 4: co-host of her own podcast, The Dash. So Marissa and
- 0:57Speaker 4: Elizabeth started a podcast, I believe, in August, and it's
- 1:01Speaker 4: called The Dash, and we're going to talk to them
- 1:02Speaker 4: about it.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Perfect. Let's bring them in.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Hi, guys.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Hi.
- 1:07Speaker 3: How are you? I'm great.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Thanks for having us on. I'm so happy to see
- 1:12Speaker 1: you both.
- 1:13Speaker 4: We have never met, Elizabeth. Nice to meet you.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I feel like I just stalk you on the internet. Oh, really?
- 1:19Speaker 5: Oh, great.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:20Speaker 6: I love it.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Don't worry, we stalk you too. We have so much
- 1:23Speaker 3: to talk about.
- 1:24Speaker 4: First of all, congratulations on the new podcast, The Dash.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Yeah, Elizabeth, you were the one who asked Marissa to
- 1:31Speaker 4: do it with you. How did you guys become friends?
- 1:35Speaker 1: We've been friends for almost 10 years. We became friends
- 1:38Speaker 1: when Marissa literally was just like the most refreshing breath
- 1:44Speaker 1: of air ever. She was just like unapologetically herself. I
- 1:48Speaker 1: love her so much. I actually did low-key judge her
- 1:51Speaker 1: because she was so herself for a minute. And then
- 1:54Speaker 1: I was like, wait, actually, no, I've just been bored
- 1:55Speaker 1: with people in LA.
- 1:56Speaker 5: I also had a bottle of champagne at this point.
- 1:59Speaker 5: So I really liked it. I get more comfortable with myself,
- 2:02Speaker 5: the more.
- 2:03Speaker 6: And I think Elizabeth came in at like four glasses in.
- 2:06Speaker 5: So like I was real.
- 2:08Speaker 3: So you were at your best.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I was at my best.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I was at my best.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Elizabeth, did you watch her on ladies of London?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Do you know what?
- 2:16Speaker 1: I've never, I never did. And I, I did actually,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I told you, but I, but like recently I did
- 2:23Speaker 1: go back and watch an episode or two and I
- 2:25Speaker 1: was like, you're so likable. Like who's that likable on
- 2:29Speaker 1: reality TV? And it's just because that's her. And I
- 2:33Speaker 1: don't think you like let games get in your head. Like,
- 2:36Speaker 1: I don't know what happened the rest of the season,
- 2:38Speaker 1: but I was just like, that's my Morris.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Elizabeth, have you ever done a reality show?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Oh, I did. I did. Well, I wasn't supposed to be,
- 2:45Speaker 1: it was supposed to be like a docuseries about opening
- 2:47Speaker 1: bird bakery and Cayman islands. And that was supposed to
- 2:50Speaker 1: be that. And then it switched because the production company
- 2:52Speaker 1: left and that switched networks. And it became like a
- 2:55Speaker 1: thing where they were like casting people and it became
- 2:57Speaker 1: something totally different. But listen, I was in the Cayman
- 3:00Speaker 1: Islands and I know how to do two things in
- 3:02Speaker 1: this life. And that's restaurants and television. And I, that
- 3:06Speaker 1: was all I knew how to do there. And I
- 3:08Speaker 1: wanted to stay.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You're like going to make the most of this right now.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Totally.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Totally. I think it's tricky to manipulate, like to maneuver when,
- 3:16Speaker 1: you know, you're on that. Like, I don't know. I
- 3:18Speaker 1: just had, when I saw you, Marissa, I was like, how?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Is she just still her authentic self and so likable
- 3:24Speaker 1: on a reality show where people love drama?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Give me some tips, please. Tamara needs all the tips.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Honestly, I don't have any tips.
- 3:36Speaker 6: It was really when I did bump into drama, which
- 3:39Speaker 6: I did on a few occasions.
- 3:41Speaker 5: It like ripped my heart and soul out. Like I couldn't.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Sleep at night.
- 3:45Speaker 6: It was just, it was so challenging, but that's not
- 3:48Speaker 6: who I am naturally. But I think, I mean, I
- 3:52Speaker 6: just had, I just had Tracy over for dinner and
- 3:55Speaker 6: Juliet over for dinner.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Juliet said she just did your show.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Too.
- 4:00Speaker 5: So I had the two of them over for dinner,
- 4:02Speaker 5: a little like celebratory, you know, congratulations on your new shows.
- 4:06Speaker 6: And they are preparing for battle every day because I
- 4:09Speaker 6: think also when I did it, I hadn't really watched
- 4:11Speaker 6: a lot of reality television.
- 4:12Speaker 5: So I didn't know that's what I was supposed to do.
- 4:15Speaker 6: I think I actually was poor on reality television because
- 4:20Speaker 6: you need to really put on your battle battle armor
- 4:23Speaker 6: every day and go fight. That makes for interesting television.
- 4:26Speaker 6: So I'm glad there were some sort of fighter dramatic
- 4:28Speaker 6: women on my show.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Otherwise, it would have been a total flop. But, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 5: you do need to prepare.
- 4:34Speaker 6: For battle and be honesty and pick every fight and
- 4:37Speaker 6: create drama that you wouldn't really do, you know, maybe
- 4:40Speaker 6: around a normal dinner table.
- 4:42Speaker 5: And it's a lot of work. It's hard. You know,
- 4:45Speaker 5: I know Juliet, who has real friendships in that cast.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And then, like, Juliet A.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 6: And then some of these friendships, you know, are totally grenaded.
- 4:57Speaker 6: And it's really challenging for her.
- 4:59Speaker 5: You know, it's a different... It's a lot. It takes
- 5:02Speaker 5: a lot.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Do you know anybody else on The Real Housewives of
- 5:06Speaker 4: London other than Juliet?
- 5:08Speaker 5: I know Amanda.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Oh, can you tell us a little bit about Amanda?
- 5:13Speaker 1: I don't.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 5:15Speaker 6: I shouldn't say I know Amanda in the same breath
- 5:17Speaker 6: that I know Juliet.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Don't say you're her best friend. She'll chew your ass out.
- 5:23Speaker 6: I've met Amanda on a couple of occasions.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Juliet is a sister to me. You know, we have been.
- 5:29Speaker 6: when you do a reality show with someone, as you
- 5:32Speaker 6: both know, you go to the moon with someone. So
- 5:34Speaker 6: even if you fight, and I think it was season three, Julia,
- 5:38Speaker 6: between season two and three, we got into a, an
- 5:41Speaker 6: enormous fight.
- 5:42Speaker 5: We didn't speak for a couple of years.
- 5:43Speaker 6: Um, and it was heartbreaking for us and for our
- 5:46Speaker 6: families and for our, you know, real life friends. Um,
- 5:51Speaker 6: but then we obviously came back together because she is
- 5:53Speaker 6: a very dear friend. And, you know, she was over
- 5:54Speaker 6: at my house the other night when she was in town. Um,
- 5:57Speaker 6: I've heard of Amanda through Juliet often. So I, whilst
- 6:02Speaker 6: I've only met her on a couple of occasions, I.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Don't know her intimately.
- 6:06Speaker 6: I know her through Julia and they were real friends
- 6:09Speaker 6: in the pandemic. Like I remember hearing all about Amanda
- 6:12Speaker 6: and that she hosted like something for.
- 6:14Speaker 5: A man at our house and they were, they were
- 6:16Speaker 5: very close friends. So to see.
- 6:18Speaker 6: Some of the clips and to come out that that
- 6:21Speaker 6: wasn't the case was surprising. And let me tell you,
- 6:24Speaker 6: as a friend of Juliet, If someone called me out
- 6:29Speaker 6: on something, I would probably just be like, oh yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 6: you're right.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Like I'm not a confrontational person.
- 6:35Speaker 6: I wouldn't pull out the receipts or the text messages
- 6:37Speaker 6: or anything like that. Juliette will because she will make
- 6:41Speaker 6: sure she's like this.
- 6:42Speaker 3: She's got TV. No, she will. She will die on
- 6:44Speaker 3: the hill. She's got to be right. Or yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 5: So don't try and pull a fast one over Juliette.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Well, let's switch it over to your podcast. So tell
- 6:52Speaker 4: us about your podcast.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I'm learning a lot. Let's actually stay here. Why don't
- 6:58Speaker 1: we get London though? It doesn't come at the same time.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I asked one of the producers today, I said, are
- 7:04Speaker 4: we going to get London? And he said, we don't
- 7:07Speaker 4: know yet. So Bravo hasn't picked it up. So hopefully we,
- 7:13Speaker 4: we got, we got the first season, but I just
- 7:15Speaker 4: wish the first season.
- 7:15Speaker 3: But they would drop us two episodes at a time
- 7:18Speaker 3: a week.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Okay. Well I'm invested now.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I mean, go watch, go watch.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I needed exactly. Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 5: We can talk about our podcast.
- 7:27Speaker 6: Basically what I'm talking about, like in one episode, which
- 7:29Speaker 6: it hasn't dropped yet, which I'm feeling right now is
- 7:32Speaker 6: how I swear I'm perimenopausal.
- 7:35Speaker 5: And I'm so hot right now. I need to like
- 7:37Speaker 5: take off my shirt. Like, I don't know.
- 7:39Speaker 1: She does take off her shirt. This is what we
- 7:43Speaker 1: love about Marissa. It's like she got really hot and
- 7:47Speaker 1: she's like, I just have to take my shirt off.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And listen, she does. I always say she has the
- 7:50Speaker 1: best boobs in Hollywood. Marissa has the best boobs in Hollywood.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Called Dr. Tidal Bomb you can have them too.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And nine out of ten Dr.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Titty Bomb what's his name Tidal Bomb I.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Call him Titty Bomb for sure like his nickname but
- 8:03Speaker 6: like his name is Dr.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Tidal Bomb but like don't we just love that girl
- 8:08Speaker 1: that does not gatekeep I just I think that is
- 8:11Speaker 1: everything that Marissa is and everything that our pod is
- 8:14Speaker 1: is that we don't gatekeep we're gonna put it all
- 8:17Speaker 1: out there um She actually calls Dr. Teitelbaum for like
- 8:21Speaker 1: flu symptoms of her children. I have to remind her like.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Your boob doctor is not like your GP. He always
- 8:28Speaker 6: picks up because I've sent so many people to him.
- 8:30Speaker 5: He has no boundaries.
- 8:32Speaker 6: He always gets back to me immediately.
- 8:34Speaker 1: He has no boundaries.
- 8:35Speaker 3: That's a good thing. That's a good thing about that. Well,
- 8:37Speaker 3: I also heard, I was listening to a clip from
- 8:39Speaker 3: your podcast and I was laughing so hard because I think, Elizabeth,
- 8:44Speaker 3: you were talking about how you went on a date
- 8:46Speaker 3: with somebody and you, as you're going inside their house,
- 8:50Speaker 3: you have to take your fake hair out and you
- 8:53Speaker 3: leave it on like a bush or something outside the house.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I mean, normally you.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Put it in your purse, but like it was small.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Small purse. I don't know. You know, that was.
- 9:04Speaker 1: A couple years ago when I first reentered society from
- 9:07Speaker 1: the Cayman.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Islands and I was worried.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And now I'm just like, you get the weave and
- 9:12Speaker 1: you get it all. Like, I'm not tossing the weave anymore.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Were you by any chance hiding out in the Cayman Islands?
- 9:19Speaker 1: No, not at all. It's just as great because I
- 9:23Speaker 1: think paparazzi is actually illegal there. I wasn't hiding it.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I was actually living my best, just most incredible life.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Which you deserve.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yes, yes. It was magical. It was like you cocoon
- 9:37Speaker 1: after trauma and then you just become a butterfly. And
- 9:40Speaker 1: it was cocoon and butterfly all at the same time.
- 9:42Speaker 1: That's great. It was pretty magical. But I did, coming
- 9:46Speaker 1: back to LA... I don't know why I felt like
- 9:49Speaker 1: I couldn't have like two clip-in extensions in while I
- 9:52Speaker 1: was hooking up with a man. Now I'm like, they're
- 9:58Speaker 1: all in feeling. it. Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Enjoy it.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I do think tossing the weave is a great euphemism
- 10:05Speaker 1: for hooking up. And I think we should all integrate
- 10:07Speaker 1: that into our work. I love that.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I mean, imagine I have to do it and I
- 10:10Speaker 3: have no hair. So like somebody's over, I'm in a
- 10:13Speaker 3: full wig and then it's like, it's time for action.
- 10:16Speaker 3: And then it's like, hold on. This is what you
- 10:21Speaker 3: really got yourself into, buddy.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but thankfully, Teddy, your bone structure.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Varies the way.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Like you have everything. I mean, that's like you still
- 10:30Speaker 1: are stunning.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Teddy, you can be bald and you're fine.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I think you're just right now going through that in-between
- 10:37Speaker 4: stage where it's not that short and not that long.
- 10:40Speaker 3: It's K plus eight.
- 10:41Speaker 4: That Kate Gosselin look.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Now you just need some still look beautiful.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Now you guys have both been divorced for a couple
- 10:47Speaker 4: of years now. Would you give Teddy any advice to
- 10:50Speaker 4: navigate through her separation, co-parenting, dating?
- 10:54Speaker 5: Oh, by the way, I can say I'm not yet divorced.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I'm still going.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I was going to say, Marissa and I know each
- 11:00Speaker 3: other through our husbands.
- 11:03Speaker 5: Yeah. Can you call them husbands?
- 11:06Speaker 1: Are they?
- 11:06Speaker 6: All right.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Well, we, I call my estranged husband.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Formally known. Okay.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Because we're still married.
- 11:14Speaker 5: So it's... I could call it, yeah, estranged.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I mean, it doesn't sound great.
- 11:18Speaker 1: No, I think, like, formal.
- 11:20Speaker 5: I mean, if it meant to be great, we're going
- 11:22Speaker 5: for it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I don't think you should say, like, estranged. You're formerly...
- 11:26Speaker 1: They are part of your.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Formerly known as Marissa's husband.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Correct. There you go.
- 11:32Speaker 4: And what are you waiting for, Marissa? Is it just
- 11:34Speaker 4: taking a long time to divorce, or is it stalled?
- 11:36Speaker 5: Do you know what?
- 11:38Speaker 6: I wasn't... When we separated, there wasn't a sense of
- 11:43Speaker 6: urgency to get a divorce. I'm not looking to get
- 11:46Speaker 6: remarried immediately, maybe ever. I don't need to rush through this,
- 11:52Speaker 6: nor did my soon-to-be ex-husband. And then also, we have
- 11:57Speaker 6: three kids together, too. And life does happen, even though
- 12:00Speaker 6: you don't actually want it to.
- 12:04Speaker 5: And divorce is also.
- 12:05Speaker 6: a full-time job, which Teddy, you are probably finding out
- 12:08Speaker 6: as well with which Elizabeth is well aware of. And so,
- 12:11Speaker 6: and at the time we, Matt and I, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 6: we also were working together as well. So trying to do,
- 12:18Speaker 6: you know, I think we were even, yeah, we were
- 12:19Speaker 6: opening up a restaurant and it sort of just fell to.
- 12:23Speaker 5: The back burner for no reason.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Now it's full speed ahead and, you know, lawyers and
- 12:28Speaker 6: boring back and forth.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Like, I think it's so exhausting. And Teddy, you know,
- 12:32Speaker 1: this it's like, we want to be creating things and
- 12:35Speaker 1: building things, right? Like you want to be, have your
- 12:38Speaker 1: energy and your time go to upward momentum. And it's just,
- 12:42Speaker 1: it's so annoying. Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I know people with me are like, why, why haven't
- 12:47Speaker 3: you gone further into your divorce? Like, because before the
- 12:51Speaker 3: cancer stuff, like I was like pedal to the metal.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Like I was like, I don't care how much money
- 12:55Speaker 3: I spend. I'm done with this. And like, I was angry.
- 12:59Speaker 3: And then I got sick and then it was like,
- 13:02Speaker 3: everything was like, and they're like, she can't go to
- 13:05Speaker 3: court right now. She barely remembers what day it is.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Like this isn't happening. And so now everything's just taken
- 13:14Speaker 3: like a halt. And I'm like, you know, as long
- 13:16Speaker 3: as the halt and we're getting along, it's fine. I
- 13:20Speaker 3: just never want to feel like I'm in a situation
- 13:24Speaker 3: where I feel like stuck.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 6: Totally. I'm in the exact, I'm in the exact same place, Teddy.
- 13:30Speaker 6: I mean, life happened to you. Life happened to me.
- 13:35Speaker 6: The divorce has taken longer. I do think it's, you know,
- 13:39Speaker 6: for both my soon to be exes, I don't know.
- 13:44Speaker 1: What to call them.
- 13:44Speaker 5: You have, do you have two mental? Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I was like, X is how many are you now?
- 13:49Speaker 3: We have another thing.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Let's start this rumor.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Marissa from Utah.
- 13:57Speaker 6: No, for his mental health, for my mental health, I
- 14:00Speaker 6: do think there is also, it will be good for
- 14:04Speaker 6: both of us.
- 14:05Speaker 5: To have this behind us.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I also do think there is a morning that will
- 14:12Speaker 6: come with that.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I don't know, Elizabeth, share this, but if you did.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Whenever that final paper, you know, whenever the divorce is final,
- 14:20Speaker 6: I believe that will also bring its own sense of
- 14:23Speaker 6: sadness and grief and mourning. And even though this is
- 14:27Speaker 6: something that I fought for and wanted, you know.
- 14:30Speaker 5: It is sad. Like this is not what I wanted actually.
- 14:34Speaker 6: When I signed up for this life and when I
- 14:36Speaker 6: chose Matt and my arc, like I didn't want this.
- 14:39Speaker 6: And so there, I'd like to have that morning behind
- 14:42Speaker 6: me soon so I can like continue on.
- 14:44Speaker 5: But It takes the time that it's taking right now.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Your divorce or your relationship became sensational. Like, everybody was
- 15:00Speaker 3: a part of it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 3: How did you find a way? Like, one, how long
- 15:06Speaker 3: did you know that was going on before you finally
- 15:09Speaker 3: were like, okay, breaks. I gotta hit the breaks. This
- 15:13Speaker 3: isn't for me. Or was it just one of those
- 15:15Speaker 3: things that was just one day?
- 15:17Speaker 1: No, and Marissa and I talk about this a lot
- 15:18Speaker 1: because she was so much further down the road in
- 15:22Speaker 1: terms of being like done with her marriage. And for me,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I was like so optimistic yet kept being presented with,
- 15:31Speaker 1: you know, circumstances that were not sustainable in a marriage
- 15:35Speaker 1: and that I wouldn't want my daughter to put up with.
- 15:39Speaker 1: So I think, again, like, you know, I'm from Texas.
- 15:42Speaker 1: My parents, I mean... I, Marissa always says she loves
- 15:46Speaker 1: the universe. I love Jesus. Like the last thing that
- 15:48Speaker 1: we want ever, anyone.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Is a divorce.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You don't go into this thinking it's going to end.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So Marissa was like so done. I'm sorry if I'm
- 15:57Speaker 1: like speaking on your behalf, but literally I do it
- 15:59Speaker 1: all the time. And so you can speak on my
- 16:01Speaker 1: behalf as well. But I think, you know, you get
- 16:05Speaker 1: to the point where you're like, okay, we're in therapy.
- 16:07Speaker 1: We're working with the best. I mean, we were working
- 16:09Speaker 1: with like Esther Perel. And I thought, If you're going
- 16:12Speaker 1: to do anything, do it to the most extreme of
- 16:15Speaker 1: your ability. Let's repair, um, everyone, you know, not everyone,
- 16:19Speaker 1: but there is such thing as an indiscretion. And then
- 16:23Speaker 1: you just realize, actually, this is not an indiscretion. This
- 16:26Speaker 1: is something that no matter what work we feel like
- 16:29Speaker 1: we're putting into it, um, may or may not persist.
- 16:34Speaker 1: And so that's the point that I just was like, um, listen,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I thought divorce was the worst thing in the world.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I thought ending, breaking up my family, which it ultimately is,
- 16:43Speaker 1: was like, actually, I will tell you guys this. This
- 16:46Speaker 1: is so crazy.
- 16:47Speaker 5: I remember, I.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Am a very prayerful person. I remember like praying on
- 16:52Speaker 1: my knees in my kitchen in the middle of the day, like,
- 16:53Speaker 1: thank you, God, for this day. Thank you for this life.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Thank you for my beautiful children. And I do think
- 16:58Speaker 1: that like divorce was actually my worst fear, which is
- 17:02Speaker 1: really interesting when you dive into something that is your
- 17:04Speaker 1: worst fear becoming A reality. It's almost like don't see
- 17:08Speaker 1: the trees. Don't see the trees when you're skiing and
- 17:09Speaker 1: like you hit a tree. I don't know. Like at
- 17:11Speaker 1: the end of the day, all you can do is
- 17:13Speaker 1: keep your side of the street clean and protect your children.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And that's ultimately all that matters.
- 17:18Speaker 3: So are you blindsided?
- 17:20Speaker 1: No. I mean, the first time, 100 percent.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 1: 100 percent.
- 17:25Speaker 4: What do you mean the first time?
- 17:27Speaker 1: I mean, there was like, there, there was more than
- 17:30Speaker 1: one indiscretion. Yeah. And so I think like at the
- 17:34Speaker 1: end of the day, again, all that matters is children
- 17:37Speaker 1: and making sure that we don't traumatize our kids that
- 17:41Speaker 1: didn't ask to come into this world.
- 17:42Speaker 4: How old are your children now?
- 17:44Speaker 1: Mine are nine and 11 and.
- 17:46Speaker 4: They're amazing, but like fun ages.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It's so, they're like full people and just, they're, they're
- 17:52Speaker 1: everything that matters really like every, and that's the only
- 17:55Speaker 1: thing that the only guardrails we have with our pod
- 17:57Speaker 1: is like making sure that, you know, that we are
- 18:00Speaker 1: protecting them at all costs. But I do think to
- 18:03Speaker 1: answer your question earlier, Teddy, like with co-parenting and stuff,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I think all that matters is that they know they
- 18:09Speaker 1: have two parents that care about them and love them
- 18:11Speaker 1: so deeply. And yeah, is it ideal not to have everyone's,
- 18:15Speaker 1: your whole family under one roof? A hundred percent. Like
- 18:18Speaker 1: if they could wave a magic wand, if any divorced kids,
- 18:20Speaker 1: could wave a magic wand. I'm sure that's what they
- 18:22Speaker 1: would want.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:24Speaker 4: How's your relationship with your ex?
- 18:27Speaker 5: I mean, we're cordial.
- 18:28Speaker 1: At the end of the day, I love the person
- 18:32Speaker 1: I married and people change. At the end of the day,
- 18:35Speaker 1: all we want them is to be there for their kids.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And that's all that matters. And that's what matters with Marissa.
- 18:40Speaker 1: And I had a conversation with a divorce friend this weekend.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And she's like, listen, at the end of the day, he's.
- 18:48Speaker 5: Her dad.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Like we don't get any daddy issues. So if they
- 18:52Speaker 1: can be there and present for their kids, then we're
- 18:55Speaker 1: going to support that a hundred percent. Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Right now, Marissa, you're dating a guy who you call spy.
- 19:01Speaker 5: The spy. Why?
- 19:03Speaker 4: How did you pick the code name?
- 19:05Speaker 5: It's so funny.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Elizabeth asked me about this the other day, and I
- 19:07Speaker 6: think I forgot the main point, how I chose the spy.
- 19:11Speaker 5: He came out of nowhere.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah. He came out of Raya, bitch.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Sorry, never mind, never mind. I found him on the internet.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Can we make that a clip, please?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 3: He came out of nowhere. He came out of Raya, bitch.
- 19:28Speaker 3: The fact that you could get on Raya and I
- 19:31Speaker 3: had to be slumming it on Hinge.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Why Raya?
- 19:36Speaker 6: By the way, apparently Hinge has more real connection.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Well, I have my real connection from Hinge and I
- 19:42Speaker 3: have a code name for him as well.
- 19:44Speaker 4: She's been calling her new guy, which drives me crazy,
- 19:47Speaker 4: Valley guy, which to me, just, I don't know. I
- 19:50Speaker 4: just don't want to date someone called Valley guy.
- 19:52Speaker 5: Well, does he live in the Valley? Nope.
- 19:55Speaker 3: So the day, the first, after the first date, I
- 19:58Speaker 3: couldn't remember where he told me he lived. And so
- 20:02Speaker 3: I was like, We're just going to say the Valley
- 20:05Speaker 3: because I don't know.
- 20:06Speaker 5: It's always safe.
- 20:07Speaker 6: It's like if you live in L.A., for sure the
- 20:09Speaker 6: Valley makes sense.
- 20:10Speaker 5: To all of us. It's like the big catch all.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Do we know where he lives now, Teddy?
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yes, we do. We do know where he lives.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Do we want to rebrand him?
- 20:21Speaker 3: He's now moved up to getting his name. She hard
- 20:25Speaker 3: launched his name today.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Oh.
- 20:27Speaker 4: I think only because the press figured it out.
- 20:29Speaker 3: It was only because the press figured out his name.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 3: PJ PJ. Yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 4: I know we've been talking about him for months, but
- 20:41Speaker 4: Tamara's like, does he have a PJ?
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah. No. If he had PJ.
- 20:50Speaker 5: That would be his code name too.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I know, but then that would be so obnoxious.
- 20:54Speaker 4: So are you still dating a spy?
- 20:57Speaker 5: Yep.
- 20:58Speaker 6: I just saw the spy. I came in last night.
- 21:01Speaker 6: I saw him for a couple of nights. So the
- 21:02Speaker 6: reason why I did name him the spy, he didn't, look,
- 21:05Speaker 6: he didn't come out of nowhere. I did find him
- 21:06Speaker 6: on the internet, but he's, it's like he was sneaky undercover,
- 21:12Speaker 6: except he wasn't.
- 21:13Speaker 5: He was just being himself.
- 21:14Speaker 6: He's unlike any other guy I've ever dated or been
- 21:18Speaker 6: attracted to my entire life. He's like, he's not a narcissist.
- 21:24Speaker 6: He's not an asshole. He's not an egomaniac. He's not flashy.
- 21:27Speaker 5: He's none of those things. In fact, if anything, he's quieter,
- 21:33Speaker 5: like discreet, demure. And yeah, like I didn't see him coming.
- 21:38Speaker 4: That's how my husband is.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And it's refreshing.
- 21:41Speaker 5: Like a slow bird. And he kept showing up and being.
- 21:44Speaker 6: nice and sweet and smart and adorable and consistent. And like,
- 21:50Speaker 6: I'm not used to that. And so I, not that
- 21:53Speaker 6: I wasn't attracted to it in the beginning. In the past,
- 21:57Speaker 6: I've had these like crazy butterflies or like seen something
- 22:00Speaker 6: and being like, I want that or that. And this wasn't,
- 22:03Speaker 6: this was just like a slow, lovely burn that has
- 22:08Speaker 6: now become something real.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Has he met your kids?
- 22:12Speaker 6: Nice.
- 22:12Speaker 5: He met the kids.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Not the kids.
- 22:15Speaker 5: And the kids adore him.
- 22:18Speaker 6: And, you know, he's a divorced dad too.
- 22:20Speaker 5: So I like the divorced dad type is, again, I
- 22:23Speaker 5: didn't know who I wanted. I didn't really even want
- 22:25Speaker 5: to date anyone. I went on a lot of dates,
- 22:27Speaker 5: but I just thought that was something that I should do.
- 22:29Speaker 6: Not, I didn't actually want to like meet anyone because
- 22:32Speaker 6: also I'm very happy starfishing in bed at home by myself.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Starfishing.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Well, you know, one guy, I think we have a,
- 22:39Speaker 3: we've both gone on a date with the same guy
- 22:41Speaker 3: because I went on, I don't even remember his name.
- 22:44Speaker 3: It was so long ago, but I was like, we
- 22:46Speaker 3: have one mutual friend in common. It's Marissa Hermer. Then
- 22:51Speaker 3: I was like, how do you know Marissa Hermer?
- 22:59Speaker 1: I have to tell you guys more about the spy
- 23:00Speaker 1: for one second, because this is crazy. He was like
- 23:02Speaker 1: he I think he was in the CIA. And I'm like, girl,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I've seen his house in Aspen. It looks like the
- 23:07Speaker 1: cover of 80. I'm like, that man was not CIA.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I think he's like, BC is he actually I was
- 23:16Speaker 1: afraid that you were going to come home this weekend.
- 23:17Speaker 1: He was gonna be like, you guys have to stop
- 23:18Speaker 1: talking about me. I low-key thought that he was going
- 23:20Speaker 1: to say that or that you were going to be.
- 23:23Speaker 5: He's like a real person.
- 23:24Speaker 6: He's not going to listen to like, you know, reality
- 23:27Speaker 6: television podcasts and stuff like that.
- 23:28Speaker 3: You'd be surprised.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Please, in this episode that dropped this morning, I talk
- 23:34Speaker 6: about how I discovered a nipple hair.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Both of my nipples. And so I really don't want
- 23:40Speaker 5: him to listen to this. He was there. He saw
- 23:44Speaker 5: the fucking hair, Marissa. I moved everything around so quickly
- 23:47Speaker 5: that I don't know if he saw it.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Did you get the nipple hair?
- 23:50Speaker 4: I have one better. I have one better than that.
- 23:54Speaker 4: I was dating Eddie and he came up to me
- 23:57Speaker 4: and he's like, oh, is that a nipple hair? And
- 24:00Speaker 4: he plucked it.
- 24:02Speaker 5: No.
- 24:03Speaker 6: Yes. Well, yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 4: And I was mortified, embarrassed. I didn't even see it,
- 24:08Speaker 4: but I will say, I.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Know.
- 24:11Speaker 4: I was like, I had a lift and I had
- 24:15Speaker 4: my nipples made smaller. So they cut that hair right out.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It's not that deep. I'm like, well, it's that deep.
- 24:23Speaker 1: It's not that hard.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I'm like, it's very deep. Oh, Well, Alyssa, how come
- 24:28Speaker 3: they say that you rub in the cradle? Oh, yeah.
- 24:32Speaker 1: It's very weird. Like, it's very, I'm telling you, this
- 24:34Speaker 1: is very strange, you guys. I have only dated 23
- 24:37Speaker 1: to 25-year-olds, and it's not like a flat.
- 24:41Speaker 3: You're going younger than me.
- 24:42Speaker 5: They can't even grow facial hair. She's saying, you'll never
- 24:46Speaker 5: have a nipple hair.
- 24:47Speaker 1: 23. I don't, I think, you know, like it's, this
- 24:53Speaker 1: is not a flex or it's not like a, I don't,
- 24:56Speaker 1: I really would love to bring a psychologist on and
- 24:59Speaker 1: unpack it.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Your next pod.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 25:03Speaker 1: And I do have some theories. I think like they
- 25:05Speaker 1: had one girlfriend in high school and they're like maybe
- 25:07Speaker 1: one college girlfriend where they got really good in bed.
- 25:09Speaker 1: And then Like, we were all crazy at 22 probably.
- 25:14Speaker 1: So they're like, oh, my God, you're so calm and
- 25:17Speaker 1: normal and confident. And then they're like, I'm going to
- 25:21Speaker 1: marry you. And you're like, no, like, that's so horrible.
- 25:24Speaker 1: That's not happening. And then I think it's just because, again,
- 25:27Speaker 1: and I'm not judging anyone, but like at that age
- 25:31Speaker 1: of their last girlfriend, we were all probably like a
- 25:33Speaker 1: lot more insecure and a lot more, you know, it
- 25:36Speaker 1: was just a different time. And so it's very calming
- 25:38Speaker 1: and comforting. when someone doesn't make drama out of nothing.
- 25:43Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 25:43Speaker 1: That's my tip of the iceberg.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Well, that's what my algorithm tells me too. Does your
- 25:49Speaker 3: algorithm talk to you about like knowing.
- 25:51Speaker 5: That you're dating?
- 25:51Speaker 1: I am the algorithm, Teddy.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Like my algorithm will be like, oh, so young guys
- 25:57Speaker 2: and blah, blah, blah. It's said that the best relationships
- 26:02Speaker 2: are with a guy is younger and they're dating an
- 26:05Speaker 2: older woman because an older woman feels safe to them.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I agree. And I also think there's something to be
- 26:11Speaker 1: discovered and explored with like the porn timeframe. I think
- 26:14Speaker 1: like 31 to 37, we're probably overexposed to porn. So
- 26:19Speaker 1: they're not really great in bed. Cause it's not a connection.
- 26:22Speaker 1: It's more of like a performance. Oh, 31 to 37
- 26:27Speaker 1: is not my jam.
- 26:28Speaker 3: So I met with 31.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Well, he may have just missed them. 31.
- 26:32Speaker 5: My guy is 31.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah. JP.
- 26:33Speaker 5: Valley.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I've been dating the Valley. I mean, how long has
- 26:42Speaker 3: it been? Like three, four months? Four months?
- 26:46Speaker 1: Listen, I hope he was on the other side of
- 26:47Speaker 1: the porn problem because people who watch too much porn
- 26:51Speaker 1: are not good in bed. Like, they're lacking connection. And
- 26:54Speaker 1: I do think that certain time frame... was deep in it.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Teddy, you and Elizabeth are around the same age, right?
- 27:01Speaker 3: I mean, I'm probably older, but yes.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I think we're both 27.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Any other questions, Tamara?
- 27:08Speaker 4: I just Googled it. I didn't want to say it
- 27:09Speaker 4: out loud because some people don't like their age. So
- 27:11Speaker 4: you guys are basically like a year apart.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:13Speaker 5: So I don't know.
- 27:15Speaker 4: I feel like, so my husband is five years, five
- 27:18Speaker 4: and a half years younger than me. And I'm okay
- 27:21Speaker 4: when we're in like the same decade. But when like,
- 27:26Speaker 4: I will be 60 one day and he's going to
- 27:30Speaker 4: be 55. I don't know. I don't, it's a little
- 27:34Speaker 4: bit of an insecurity when he was in his thirties,
- 27:36Speaker 4: I was in my forties. Like there's always this, as
- 27:38Speaker 4: long as we were both in our thirties, both in
- 27:40Speaker 4: our forties, I'm good with it.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I think that's fair. I mean, my ex was five
- 27:44Speaker 1: or four years younger and I was worried about that,
- 27:46Speaker 1: but also look around, like all the dads when they
- 27:50Speaker 1: turn 40, aren't hot and we're just getting hotter. I think,
- 27:53Speaker 1: I think everything has shifted. Like really?
- 27:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:55Speaker 1: We've never been hotter. And if you think about Diane Keaton,
- 27:59Speaker 1: I think she, and someone fact checked me, but I
- 28:02Speaker 1: think she played like father and father of the bride.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And she was the mom at like 42. Right. So
- 28:08Speaker 1: Anne Hathaway had just, is having a baby. Natalie Portman,
- 28:11Speaker 1: all of our Queens look like amazing, killing their careers
- 28:17Speaker 1: and getting everything they want. So actually I'm throwing a
- 28:19Speaker 1: flag on all that bullshit. And you need to get
- 28:21Speaker 1: out of your head about that because like, we've never
- 28:23Speaker 1: been hotter and happier and healthier and, And, like, they
- 28:26Speaker 1: still get dad bods.
- 28:28Speaker 3: And also, sometimes, I don't know, maybe the spy is
- 28:31Speaker 3: not this way, Marissa, but, like, what I realized on
- 28:34Speaker 3: my online dating excursions prior was the older gentlemen that
- 28:40Speaker 3: had money and, like, all that stuff were very, like,
- 28:44Speaker 3: kind of, like, set in their ways already. Yeah. And
- 28:47Speaker 3: I was like, you know what? That's not for me.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I don't want, like, I'm already set in my own ways. Like,
- 28:52Speaker 3: I want someone that's going to help me explore, learn
- 28:54Speaker 3: something new, go do something I probably wouldn't have said
- 28:57Speaker 3: yes to before. Like, I don't want someone that's like, well, I,
- 29:01Speaker 3: you know what? I eat dinner at six o'clock every
- 29:03Speaker 3: night and that's how it is.
- 29:05Speaker 4: That's how I like it.
- 29:06Speaker 5: We don't want to be a purse.
- 29:07Speaker 4: I like to, I like a schedule.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I like being married.
- 29:13Speaker 5: I'm not, um, the spy is older than me. He's
- 29:16Speaker 5: not set in his ways. He's super happy to adventure
- 29:20Speaker 5: and try new things. It's interesting.
- 29:22Speaker 6: I actually want the routine now. I'm the one who's
- 29:26Speaker 6: really shifted. I want to go to bed earlier.
- 29:30Speaker 5: And have quiet routine.
- 29:32Speaker 6: And maybe it's because you know, trauma of divorce and
- 29:37Speaker 6: getting through, you know, making the hard decisions to complete
- 29:42Speaker 6: a marriage. Now I just want peace and chill and equality.
- 29:47Speaker 6: Like shoot me dead before I ever go to Burning
- 29:49Speaker 6: Man again.
- 29:50Speaker 5: Do you know what I mean?
- 29:51Speaker 3: The fact that you just said again after I just
- 29:53Speaker 3: watched all this Bethany Frankel content. I can't believe.
- 29:57Speaker 4: I've had so many comments about Burning Man lately. Like
- 29:59Speaker 4: I would never go.
- 30:01Speaker 3: But Marissa, I think.
- 30:02Speaker 1: You say that because it's long distance. Like you'll still
- 30:04Speaker 1: come dance on a table with me. Totally.
- 30:06Speaker 5: I'm in like the ideal.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Well, that's okay. But Burning Man, no.
- 30:10Speaker 5: The dust and the dirt.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I mean, even Diplo said he walked 15 miles to
- 30:13Speaker 1: get out of Burning Man.
- 30:24Speaker 4: I think it was worse this year than it was
- 30:26Speaker 4: last year, right?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Just from the pictures.
- 30:28Speaker 4: I'm like, oh my, no, thank you.
- 30:29Speaker 3: So if you guys want to go deep down a
- 30:31Speaker 3: rabbit hole, go down the Bethany Frankel at Burning Man
- 30:34Speaker 3: rabbit hole.
- 30:35Speaker 5: It's also not appealing.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Like, I don't want to be, sorry, but I don't
- 30:39Speaker 6: want to be watching 25-year-old gorgeous bodies, even though, yes,
- 30:43Speaker 6: we identify I'm also 25.
- 30:45Speaker 5: But like, I'm not. I've had three children. Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Dr.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Teitelbaum's help.
- 30:49Speaker 6: I don't want to be dancing next to like 25-year-old
- 30:52Speaker 6: naked women.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I don't. I think you would, like, in Saint-Tropez.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Well, everything's different there.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 30:58Speaker 3: I think there's a difference between Saint-Tropez and then, like,
- 31:01Speaker 3: being all dressed up out of your mind.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Totally.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Like, wearing sparkly silver seven-inch, like, platforms.
- 31:11Speaker 1: No. Like, we can check that off the list.
- 31:14Speaker 4: And there's, like, a wide age range that goes to
- 31:16Speaker 4: Burning Man.
- 31:17Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I know. We should do, like, a psychological evaluation of, like,
- 31:21Speaker 1: the profile. Because it is enticing at one point in
- 31:25Speaker 1: your life. But I do think that your long distance
- 31:28Speaker 1: relationship helps longevity.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Totally.
- 31:31Speaker 6: It's like incredibly passionate when we see each other. And
- 31:34Speaker 6: you get to be super present. I love it because
- 31:36Speaker 6: I'm able to like really switch off for a few days.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Sorry for all the text messages. I didn't respond to Elizabeth.
- 31:41Speaker 6: but like, I do all that.
- 31:43Speaker 1: And then I get like her daily screen time is
- 31:47Speaker 1: maybe an hour. I'm like, hello. I am never not
- 31:51Speaker 1: on my phone. And I'm like, she's, she's happiest disconnected,
- 31:56Speaker 1: which is a free bird.
- 31:58Speaker 5: It's really nice.
- 31:59Speaker 6: But then I come back to my real life. Like
- 32:01Speaker 6: this morning, I'm back online. I was out of school
- 32:03Speaker 6: orientation for a few hours down here. It's like, I
- 32:06Speaker 6: actually was at– wait, Elizabeth, I don't think we've spoken
- 32:09Speaker 6: about that.
- 32:09Speaker 5: But now that we're talking about Burning Man, you guys,
- 32:11Speaker 5: this is a new stage in my life.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Oh, no. A Vespa?
- 32:14Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 32:15Speaker 1: What?
- 32:15Speaker 4: Is that a disco ball helmet? Okay, so this is–
- 32:19Speaker 4: What are you writing when you have that on your head?
- 32:21Speaker 5: By the way, I actually just had this on my
- 32:23Speaker 5: desk right now. This is not as a prop for
- 32:25Speaker 5: a podcast to, like, have a conversation about.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I was thinking– oh, some of the– I was going
- 32:30Speaker 3: to say, is that a chip? Did you fall?
- 32:32Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, must have. I must have.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Where are you wearing this?
- 32:39Speaker 5: I think you guys, I'm getting rid of it.
- 32:41Speaker 6: I was actually thinking like, I have so many like
- 32:43Speaker 6: sparkly sequin outfits, like feather thing.
- 32:46Speaker 5: I've got a whole closet of like a, a costume,
- 32:50Speaker 5: you know, warehouse. I think I'm ready.
- 32:52Speaker 6: I was going to say, Elizabeth, like your offer up guy,
- 32:54Speaker 6: like you sold some, like you met bow tie through
- 32:57Speaker 6: offer up. I'm going to sell all of my Burning
- 33:00Speaker 6: Man things. Cause this stage of my life is over.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I mean, when was the last time that you went
- 33:05Speaker 3: to Burning Man?
- 33:06Speaker 5: 2019. I don't think it's going to happen, so I
- 33:09Speaker 5: can get rid of this helmet.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Listen, you're shocking up with a spy at his AD house,
- 33:14Speaker 1: and he's 112. Like, obviously. Not 112.
- 33:17Speaker 3: How old is he actually, Marissa?
- 33:18Speaker 4: Now you just need to get a Vespa.
- 33:21Speaker 6: I know.
- 33:21Speaker 4: He's 62.
- 33:33Speaker 5: No, you got, he's, he's civilized. It's wonderful.
- 33:36Speaker 6: It's like very nice and comforting and sweet.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Does he have gray bald? Does he have gray bald hair?
- 33:45Speaker 3: Oh my God, Teddy.
- 33:47Speaker 5: No.
- 33:51Speaker 3: No, thank you.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Elizabeth and Teddy are so much alike.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And then me and Marissa are like, God, no.
- 33:57Speaker 4: What are you talking about? My face gets that close
- 34:01Speaker 4: to his balls.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Yes. We had our episode this week of the dash
- 34:09Speaker 1: is only 36 minutes. I'm telling them this like top level.
- 34:15Speaker 4: What are you talking about?
- 34:15Speaker 1: A part where Marissa took a special class about skills.
- 34:21Speaker 5: Okay. I can, let me say what I'm going to say.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Blow job skills.
- 34:26Speaker 5: So. I'm going to cut some stuff because.
- 34:29Speaker 4: I'll take that as a yes.
- 34:31Speaker 5: Some of the things... We have lines. We learn where
- 34:35Speaker 5: the line is.
- 34:36Speaker 6: And this is episode three that dropped this morning. And
- 34:39Speaker 6: I hadn't quite figured out where the line was. And
- 34:41Speaker 6: I'm just talking, which we do. We end up having
- 34:43Speaker 6: just a normal conversation. And I'm like, I got to
- 34:45Speaker 6: re-edit some of these things because if the option.
- 34:47Speaker 5: You know, this podcast is not for kids. This is explicit.
- 34:51Speaker 5: do not watch it. If you, you know, don't listen
- 34:53Speaker 5: to it on the.
- 34:54Speaker 6: Way when you're dropping your kids off to school, listen
- 34:57Speaker 6: to it on the way home afterwards. And if you
- 34:59Speaker 6: want to like have a giggle, yes. But I went
- 35:02Speaker 6: into too much detail. I'm like, this is not appropriate,
- 35:05Speaker 6: but post separation, I, you know, I hadn't been.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Out in the wild in a long time, like a
- 35:13Speaker 5: hundred years.
- 35:15Speaker 6: And the idea of like kissing another man or like, I,
- 35:20Speaker 6: I need, I was like, you know, whatever.
- 35:22Speaker 5: I'm an academic. So I went to intimacy school and wait, wait,
- 35:27Speaker 5: there's a school.
- 35:28Speaker 1: There's a master.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Maybe I need to do that.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Can you pass on that information?
- 35:35Speaker 5: I'll text you her name. Her name is BB.
- 35:37Speaker 6: She's an intimacy expert and she, I was actually, I
- 35:43Speaker 6: couldn't get my head around the idea that I was
- 35:46Speaker 6: actually going to be intimate with someone else again or anyone.
- 35:49Speaker 6: And whilst it wasn't something that I was like gagging
- 35:53Speaker 6: to do, I shouldn't use that term.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Gagging?
- 35:55Speaker 4: Gagging.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Good choice of words. Seems like you were.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Maybe you're hoping to gag.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Nobody wants a micro penis. I mean, you're going to
- 36:03Speaker 3: a blowjob class.
- 36:07Speaker 1: You just gagged yourself into that one.
- 36:11Speaker 5: I wanted to know all of the information. So I
- 36:13Speaker 5: went to intimacy school.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Did you learn a lot? Do you think you got
- 36:16Speaker 3: any good? Is there anything you need to pass on
- 36:18Speaker 3: to us?
- 36:19Speaker 1: That was the reason we cut 30 minutes out.
- 36:23Speaker 5: I was valedictorian. Oh, really?
- 36:25Speaker 3: Oh, valedictorian. Were you the only one in the class?
- 36:33Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I need to tune into that podcast.
- 36:37Speaker 1: We'll send you the link. Yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Have either one of you been approached to join housewives?
- 36:46Speaker 6: When I first moved to LA 100,000 years ago, I
- 36:51Speaker 6: had a couple of meetings with.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Them, but no.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Would you do it?
- 36:57Speaker 6: I said this to Juliet the other day, or maybe
- 36:59Speaker 6: I did this, um, or to Tracy, um, Never say never,
- 37:03Speaker 6: because if we've learned anything in this life, we absolutely
- 37:06Speaker 6: don't know. I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow
- 37:08Speaker 6: or where the turns of life will take me.
- 37:12Speaker 5: That said, I'm just.
- 37:14Speaker 6: Coming out of about a year and a half or
- 37:17Speaker 6: two years of total cocooning and not by for want,
- 37:24Speaker 6: but like my body, I was diagnosed with PTSD about
- 37:27Speaker 6: a year ago. I like just completely shut down. And
- 37:31Speaker 6: I wasn't depressed. I was just couldn't I couldn't take
- 37:35Speaker 6: on that much. All I could take on was being
- 37:37Speaker 6: a mother to my children, which was the priority and
- 37:41Speaker 6: is the priority. And so socially, I was not going out.
- 37:46Speaker 6: I was you know, my activity was maybe walking down
- 37:49Speaker 6: the street. So the idea of having a conversation or
- 37:53Speaker 6: even entertaining doing the housewives, which we've just said is
- 37:57Speaker 6: like you have to put on.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Your armor every day for that. I'm like, I feel
- 38:00Speaker 5: like I was putting on my armor every day just
- 38:02Speaker 5: to like do the school.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Survive.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 6: I was in survival mode and I'm coming out of
- 38:07Speaker 6: it now, which is, by the way, feels awesome and
- 38:09Speaker 6: actually really exciting.
- 38:11Speaker 5: But I wouldn't I wouldn't.
- 38:14Speaker 6: I couldn't take that on right now, but maybe at
- 38:16Speaker 6: some point, like, are we crazy enough?
- 38:17Speaker 5: Yes, we are. We're, we're all, yes, probably, you know,
- 38:20Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 38:21Speaker 3: What is, has Tracy, you're talking about Tracy Tudor, correct?
- 38:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Has she shared anything with you about Beverly Hills this year?
- 38:29Speaker 5: She hasn't.
- 38:29Speaker 6: I mean, she was over for dinner. They only just
- 38:32Speaker 6: started filming a couple of weeks ago.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:37Speaker 6: So I think she had her first group event, maybe
- 38:40Speaker 6: at Rachel Zoe's party. And she said it was fun,
- 38:43Speaker 6: but there were already some like, you know, drama.
- 38:46Speaker 4: There was already such a pro at reality TV. She's
- 38:49Speaker 4: going to fit in so well. I'm so excited for her.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I love her.
- 38:55Speaker 1: She's the best.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:57Speaker 6: It's going to just make it so watchable. And she's, yeah,
- 38:59Speaker 6: it's like a duck to water.
- 39:01Speaker 4: I mean, after coming off some pretty kind of boring seasons,
- 39:04Speaker 4: I think that Tracy's exactly what they need.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Elizabeth, can you tell us a little bit more about
- 39:15Speaker 3: your crime show? Because I was obsessed with it.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 39:18Speaker 3: And is it coming back?
- 39:20Speaker 1: Yes, it is back on September 15th. We are, I think,
- 39:24Speaker 1: eight days away from it, nine days away from it.
- 39:27Speaker 1: We have season two coming out, which is incredible. And listen,
- 39:31Speaker 1: this is my dream show, my life's work, right? I mean,
- 39:37Speaker 1: at the end of the day, all we want to
- 39:39Speaker 1: do is be in healthy and happy relationships. And we
- 39:42Speaker 1: were never told the red signs, the red flags to
- 39:45Speaker 1: look out for, right? Like we were actually quite messaged
- 39:48Speaker 1: the opposite of like a Disney princess, wait for someone
- 39:51Speaker 1: to rescue you or, you know, 17 magazine, learn to
- 39:54Speaker 1: give the best blow job. So he puts a ring
- 39:55Speaker 1: on it. Like, why were we told that that was
- 39:57Speaker 1: the goal? And so I just, our episodes this season
- 40:02Speaker 1: are leveled up in every way. I mean, we really
- 40:05Speaker 1: address some interesting things as whether you're divorced or married, like,
- 40:09Speaker 1: you know, there's something called parental alienation. where you manipulate children.
- 40:14Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 40:15Speaker 3: I've gone through that. Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And then, I mean, there's just so many themes this
- 40:19Speaker 1: season where just when I had thought I'd seen it
- 40:22Speaker 1: all in season one, season two is completely elevated and
- 40:27Speaker 1: escalated in every way. And I cannot wait for you
- 40:29Speaker 1: to watch it because it's just like so relatable, right?
- 40:34Speaker 4: Where can we watch it?
- 40:35Speaker 1: You can watch it on Hulu and HBO Max. It's
- 40:37Speaker 1: on Investigation Discovery every Monday night. And then it will
- 40:41Speaker 1: stream on HBO Max and Hulu.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I think the coolest part is like you're like boots
- 40:45Speaker 3: on the ground. You're not like a lot of these
- 40:48Speaker 3: shows now we're seeing where like somebody is like off
- 40:51Speaker 3: and in a different location and they're just essentially podcasting
- 40:55Speaker 3: what is happening. No, you're like there. You're like staked
- 40:59Speaker 3: out in the car.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 41:01Speaker 1: Yeah, we're not like I'm not just coming in to
- 41:03Speaker 1: sit in the chair for an interview. I mean, we
- 41:05Speaker 1: are solving mysteries. And I think what's really interesting, as
- 41:08Speaker 1: opposed to some– cold cases that are true crime, is that, like,
- 41:13Speaker 1: our audience can follow along to see, is she going
- 41:15Speaker 1: to go back to him? Is she going to choose
- 41:17Speaker 1: someone just like him, this man that almost murdered her?
- 41:20Speaker 1: You know, and it is, we have, we found, I
- 41:24Speaker 1: don't know if you saw Bad Vegan on Netflix. Oh, yeah. But, like, really,
- 41:29Speaker 1: Sarma was implicated. She wouldn't have thrown away her entire
- 41:33Speaker 1: restaurant and her entire career. She was really implicated and
- 41:37Speaker 1: served time at Riker's. for, you know, his bad wrongdoings.
- 41:42Speaker 1: And he had been on the run and owed the
- 41:44Speaker 1: IRS $ 20 million. And we tracked him down and found him.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And I confronted him.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 41:50Speaker 4: So I can watch season one on Hulu?
- 41:52Speaker 1: Yes, please catch up. I mean, it's called Toxic. And
- 41:58Speaker 1: it's like my absolute baby and passion, other than my
- 42:02Speaker 1: kids and my bakery, like the reason I live and breathe.
- 42:05Speaker 1: It's such, it's just like, it's applicable to everyone.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Do you guys watch any reality television?
- 42:13Speaker 5: I watched my.
- 42:14Speaker 1: First reality television show this year. I got into Love
- 42:17Speaker 1: Island because my friend was on it.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Who was your friend?
- 42:20Speaker 1: My friend Bryce. I've known him forever.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Bryce is right up our alley.
- 42:25Speaker 6: It looks like Teddy's just seen like the second coming
- 42:28Speaker 6: of Jesus.
- 42:31Speaker 4: I am not watching love Island.
- 42:36Speaker 3: No, I love Bryce.
- 42:38Speaker 1: I am like Barry. I'm not, I don't ever have
- 42:41Speaker 1: any time during, I'm like watching true crime and tracking
- 42:45Speaker 1: down people, bad people. Like that's how I spend my
- 42:48Speaker 1: free time. But I will say something, and again, I've
- 42:51Speaker 1: never watched reality TV until this. I only watched eight
- 42:55Speaker 1: episodes because, Teddy, I thought I was going to be
- 42:57Speaker 1: finished at eight. I was like, whew, that was a lot.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Oh, no, it's every night.
- 43:02Speaker 1: 9,000 more. I'm like, I am not committed.
- 43:05Speaker 3: That's why I can't do it.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Same.
- 43:06Speaker 3: It's every night. But the fact that I didn't know
- 43:09Speaker 3: that the reunion was about to be on, I was enraged. Like, my—
- 43:13Speaker 3: 13 year old daughter's like mom you don't even seem
- 43:16Speaker 3: ready to be watching the reunion I'm like what.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Do you mean the reunion she's like it's on tonight
- 43:20Speaker 1: and I was like she's like what does your ready
- 43:22Speaker 1: entail like Teddy doesn't warm.
- 43:24Speaker 5: Up before any reunion sorry because I don't watch Love
- 43:28Speaker 5: Island because I'm an adult.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Same Marissa same.
- 43:34Speaker 5: It's on every night for an hour?
- 43:36Speaker 3: It's on every night. And then there's one thing that's
- 43:39Speaker 3: called like after the sun. So one night a week
- 43:42Speaker 3: you get after the sun, which I never watch. It's
- 43:44Speaker 3: like once you've gotten booted out, then you go back
- 43:47Speaker 3: and you do an interview. But I'm like, I don't care.
- 43:49Speaker 1: They're gone.
- 43:49Speaker 3: They're out of the relationship. Is it one hour every night?
- 43:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but like if you go back, I didn't watch.
- 43:55Speaker 1: It in real time. So if you're like binging it,
- 43:58Speaker 1: you're up until 4 a.m. like a crackhead. And your
- 44:01Speaker 1: kids need to be woken up at six. And you're like,
- 44:03Speaker 1: this is unreasonable.
- 44:04Speaker 4: I do know some of these people come out of
- 44:09Speaker 4: it like being big stars. I was on Traitors with.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Ekansu.
- 44:20Speaker 4: I think she was on Love Island, like the very beginning,
- 44:22Speaker 4: the very first one. And she had like 4 million followers.
- 44:25Speaker 4: First time she's ever on TV. Like what the actual fuck?
- 44:29Speaker 1: It's crazy. I mean, people are very invested. It's interesting
- 44:31Speaker 1: to watch the dynamic. I get, I like watching it
- 44:33Speaker 1: for like, whatever. I pretend like I'm doing research or
- 44:36Speaker 1: some shit. I like watching it for some toxicity, but
- 44:39Speaker 1: it is interesting to see like people bring their own,
- 44:43Speaker 1: you know, their own trauma and their own stuff to relationships.
- 44:46Speaker 1: And like, that's ultimately, I guess what we're all doing
- 44:48Speaker 1: is like, and why toxic is, like so successful is
- 44:52Speaker 1: because you know generational patterns exist for a reason and
- 44:57Speaker 1: our behavior is what it is because like that's what
- 44:59Speaker 1: we know and all that stuff is so interesting to
- 45:01Speaker 1: unpack and that's how i'm justifying watching love island.
- 45:04Speaker 4: Oh my god i think that you would elizabeth i
- 45:06Speaker 4: think you'd be great on traders i.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Would love i mean i i need to watch it
- 45:10Speaker 1: first but i it sounds strategic.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Murder mystery it's a murder mystery.
- 45:14Speaker 3: You would be great on it. You would love it.
- 45:16Speaker 3: So is there any shows, because I know we're wrapping
- 45:18Speaker 3: up on the hour, but is there any shows if
- 45:20Speaker 3: you guys could go on? It's not like you'd have
- 45:24Speaker 3: to be pressured, but you're like, oh, I actually would
- 45:27Speaker 3: want to do that. Do you have one, Marissa, too?
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty. Jeopardy.
- 45:35Speaker 5: I love it.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I love it.
- 45:37Speaker 1: The Wheel of Fortune would be an easy bag. I
- 45:40Speaker 1: was going to say the third unheeded rivalry, but no.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Let's make a deal.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 45:47Speaker 5: Granny. Elizabeth calls me granny on this show. That's a
- 45:50Speaker 5: real granny. Yeah, Jeopardy.
- 45:51Speaker 1: That's so granny.
- 45:53Speaker 3: That is so granny.
- 45:54Speaker 1: No, just like toxic season three, four, five, six. I
- 45:57Speaker 1: want to be, we need like, we need to be
- 45:59Speaker 1: like the dateline. I want toxic for 900 seasons, but no,
- 46:03Speaker 1: I mean like, I think you've opened my eyes to
- 46:06Speaker 1: this whole, like the housewife stuff is really interesting too.
- 46:09Speaker 1: And you know, Rachel's a friend of ours too. So
- 46:11Speaker 1: it's like fun to see her and Kathy, like they're,
- 46:14Speaker 1: I don't know, like I've never watched it before, but
- 46:16Speaker 1: now I do find myself when you want to see
- 46:18Speaker 1: your friends succeed.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 46:20Speaker 1: And you want to see, yeah for sure what everyone's
- 46:23Speaker 1: talking about like we have to be well and it's
- 46:27Speaker 1: like a bit like survivor too I mean let's be
- 46:29Speaker 1: honest navigating a teddy as you I mean as you
- 46:32Speaker 1: both know Tamara and Teddy like navigating some of these
- 46:35Speaker 1: dinner parties when the produce when you're like gonna get
- 46:39Speaker 1: attacked at it is is a real testament to like
- 46:43Speaker 1: how you can navigate.
- 46:45Speaker 3: And the fact is, we already know, like going into
- 46:48Speaker 3: the season without being told anything specific or special or
- 46:52Speaker 3: anything like we know if we're actually avid watchers of
- 46:56Speaker 3: the show that Tracy Tudor is going to walk in
- 46:59Speaker 3: there and have drama with Dorit. Like we already know
- 47:02Speaker 3: it because they didn't pay the hairstylist. I heard about this.
- 47:07Speaker 5: I can't believe it. I know.
- 47:09Speaker 4: I DM Chris Dillon. I'm like, oh, you're going to
- 47:11Speaker 4: be a topic of conversation.
- 47:12Speaker 5: By the way, like, yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 6: And it's all totally understandable. Like I would also, I
- 47:18Speaker 6: don't know what happened with Dorit and why she didn't
- 47:21Speaker 6: pay him.
- 47:23Speaker 5: But I would do the same thing. I would call up,
- 47:26Speaker 5: be like, pay this man. Like what is going on?
- 47:28Speaker 5: So I don't know the other side of the story.
- 47:31Speaker 5: Tracy's a good friend.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Doreen, we've met in passing.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Have you watched Housewives of Beverly Hills, Marissa? No.
- 47:36Speaker 6: I've watched a couple of episodes here and there, but I, look,
- 47:39Speaker 6: the truth is that that is my television over on
- 47:41Speaker 6: the wall.
- 47:42Speaker 1: You can see in the background.
- 47:43Speaker 5: I don't know how to turn it on. I don't know.
- 47:47Speaker 5: I've watched your show, Elizabeth, on the plane, on my
- 47:50Speaker 5: iPad and on my laptop. Cause I can figure that
- 47:52Speaker 5: one out. This TV, there's a remote. There's like all
- 47:54Speaker 5: different buttons. There's like more buttons. Not a remote.
- 47:57Speaker 4: Not a, holy shit.
- 47:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:01Speaker 6: That's for my kids. Like my kids will help me
- 48:03Speaker 6: do that. Like I watch, what do I watch? Watch
- 48:06Speaker 6: that show with Eleven in it.
- 48:09Speaker 5: Stranger Things. I watch Stranger Things.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Well, this is not our demographic. So we're going to
- 48:14Speaker 1: move on from that.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Well, thank you guys so much. And congratulations on your podcast.
- 48:22Speaker 4: And I'm assuming you can listen to it wherever you
- 48:25Speaker 4: can listen to podcasts, right?

- 48:29Speaker 1: you for just being so much fun. And for all
- 48:32Speaker 1: that you guys do together, we are big fans.
- 48:35Speaker 5: Oh, thank you.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Where do people find you guys on social media?

- 48:50Speaker 3: Do you drop one a week?
- 48:51Speaker 1: We do. You can learn all about Marissa's nipple hair online.
- 48:55Speaker 1: and bow tie if you tune in today oh my
- 48:58Speaker 1: god what was i thinking because i fell out of
- 49:01Speaker 1: my chair hey.
- 49:03Speaker 3: It's a thing okay i mean i've had a goat
- 49:06Speaker 3: hair before you know like before what do you mean
- 49:08Speaker 3: before you get them every every time you pluck it
- 49:11Speaker 3: it grows right back today and sometimes i'll feel it
- 49:15Speaker 3: right away and then sometimes i won't feel it until
- 49:18Speaker 3: it's like long and i'm like how am people have
- 49:20Speaker 3: seen this and no one has seen it?
- 49:22Speaker 5: What is happening?
- 49:23Speaker 1: We're all going to go to Laser Away. And I'm
- 49:25Speaker 1: sure there's a Laser Away in Orange County.
- 49:28Speaker 3: There's one in every corner.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I actually have an at-home device. Just come over. We'll
- 49:31Speaker 1: have a Laser Away party.
- 49:33Speaker 3: But the fact that you had them on your nipples
- 49:36Speaker 3: and you didn't notice worries me about the washing. There's two.
- 49:40Speaker 6: I had, we were dining, we ate outside and I like,
- 49:45Speaker 6: for some reason, I just had a sweatshirt on and
- 49:46Speaker 6: not a bra and we were tidying up inside.
- 49:49Speaker 5: And then the spy went to the bathroom and I
- 49:50Speaker 5: was like, come on, my nipple, like my- No.
- 49:53Speaker 1: They're going to listen to it.
- 49:54Speaker 5: They're going to see. Well, yeah.
- 49:56Speaker 6: So I lift up my shirt as the spy is
- 49:58Speaker 6: coming out of the bathroom and I'm like, oh my God,
- 50:01Speaker 6: there's two mosquito bites on each side under my nipple.
- 50:05Speaker 5: And then as I looked closer- in each mosquito bite,
- 50:10Speaker 5: sort of.
- 50:10Speaker 6: Like, you know, when someone lands on the moon and
- 50:14Speaker 6: sticks the flag in the.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Moon, there was.
- 50:17Speaker 6: A nipple hair in the flag saying mosquito bite.
- 50:21Speaker 5: And I was like, I mean, it was horrible. Anyway.
- 50:25Speaker 3: I mean, imagine how many times he kissed your boobs
- 50:27Speaker 3: and you've seen that.
- 50:28Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Let's just call it relatable. Okay.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Because us girls, shit happens. Oh, my gosh.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Exactly. All right.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Well, we love you guys. Thank you so much.
- 50:37Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Bye.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Hopefully we'll see you in LA and we'll all go out.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Let's do that.
- 50:42Speaker 3: We'll do a group one in person.
- 50:43Speaker 5: All righty.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Bye, guys.
- 50:44Speaker 5: Bye.
