- 0:02Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 0:08Speaker 2: dot Com. All right, welcome in today too. I guess
- 0:14Speaker 2: of Mini camp coverage here the Patriots. It's a huge
- 0:16Speaker 2: day here at Chillette Stadium. We're excited to be with
- 0:19Speaker 2: you guys, covering practice live here. As you can see,
- 0:22Speaker 2: we're beginning with warm ups. We're jumping right in and
- 0:25Speaker 2: joined by Paul Pirillo, Evan Lazar. We'll have Tamara Brown
- 0:28Speaker 2: Alex Francisco joining as well throughout the practice. We're anticipating
- 0:32Speaker 2: about an hour and a half today, so I don't know, guys,
- 0:35Speaker 2: this feels kind of like the last day of school
- 0:37Speaker 2: a little bit. It's been a crazy offseason here we are.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We're gonna wrap up Mini camp today, We're gonna honor
- 0:42Speaker 2: Tom Brady tonight, and then I think tomorrow we're gonna rest.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It seems like it's been a long off season. I
- 0:47Speaker 2: think we're already excited for today. We have to work,
- 0:49Speaker 2: but I guess the rest of the organization will be arresting.
- 0:52Speaker 2: No rest here.
- 0:53Speaker 3: No, of course, I wasn't here on Monday.
- 0:54Speaker 2: So no days off except for you Paul Friday, but
- 0:58Speaker 2: another you know, great day, great to be back out here.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Of course, the team yesterday they did not practice. They
- 1:03Speaker 2: went to four different sites around Boston in the community,
- 1:07Speaker 2: giving back and it looked like it was a fun day.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Alex was with them at various locations and she'll be up,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you know, kind of share some of what she saw.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I know, kyten Wallace was taking names there in Dodgeball
- 1:17Speaker 2: was one of my favorite clips of him going back
- 1:20Speaker 2: Billy Madison, you know, knocking kids out, pointing out him,
- 1:23Speaker 2: getting him out. He was.
- 1:24Speaker 3: It was funny, he was, he was on point.
- 1:26Speaker 2: You gotta love that. So uh so, yeah, we're gonna
- 1:29Speaker 2: we're gonna wrap up here with with Minnie Camp and
- 1:31Speaker 2: get a look at what they're gonna do here today,
- 1:33Speaker 2: uh Monday, and o'paul, you weren't here, Evan, you were
- 1:36Speaker 2: here a little bit, you know, some competitive periods. I
- 1:40Speaker 2: think I was a little bit surprised though, guys, I
- 1:42Speaker 2: I felt the look. I thought it was a pretty
- 1:43Speaker 2: good day for Drake may. I think it's kind of
- 1:45Speaker 2: a continuation of what we've been seeing here in OTAs
- 1:47Speaker 2: that you see glimpses here and there, whether it's the
- 1:50Speaker 2: arm talent, whether it's kind of his willingness and ability
- 1:53Speaker 2: to throw off platform, but I felt like the reaction
- 1:56Speaker 2: kind of outside of our little sphere was a little
- 1:58Speaker 2: bit more kind of, oh gosh, this was such a
- 2:00Speaker 2: great day. And I mean, I don't want to, you know,
- 2:02Speaker 2: throw rain on the fire, so to speak. But that's
- 2:05Speaker 2: not even a saying I don't know, but you know,
- 2:06Speaker 2: I don't want to. I don't want to, you know,
- 2:07Speaker 2: put the extinguish that. But at the same time, like
- 2:09Speaker 2: I gotta be honest, like I still feel like the
- 2:12Speaker 2: offense has a ways to go, Drake May has a
- 2:13Speaker 2: ways to go, and I really don't think we're gonna
- 2:15Speaker 2: get a true sense of it until we get to
- 2:16Speaker 2: camp next ten to two months.
- 2:18Speaker 4: I definitely feel like we're in the school and I think, oh,
- 2:21Speaker 4: I think it's on h I definitely feel like we're
- 2:23Speaker 4: in the point in time now where you're just trying
- 2:26Speaker 4: to confirm your priors about Drake May if you thought
- 2:29Speaker 4: he was a great pick like I did personally, and
- 2:32Speaker 4: I feel myself doing this so I'm trying not to
- 2:34Speaker 4: do it as much. When you see him make an
- 2:37Speaker 4: off platform, off platform throw to Jalen Polk on the move.
- 2:42Speaker 4: You can sit there and say, well, that's that's what
- 2:43Speaker 4: we were talking. You know, that's why he was the
- 2:45Speaker 4: number three overall pick. But when he overthrows the tight end, right,
- 2:48Speaker 4: when the tight end, we don't necessarily righte about that?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, right?
- 2:51Speaker 4: So I think a lot of what we're seeing right
- 2:53Speaker 4: now is confirmation bias of I thought this guy was
- 2:56Speaker 4: good anyways. So now that he doesn't look like he's
- 2:59Speaker 4: completely say in the deep end of the pool, we're
- 3:02Speaker 4: gonna sit here and say that he had the best
- 3:03Speaker 4: practice ever. Right, And I'm not trying to rag on
- 3:06Speaker 4: anybody either, but I always am. I think you guys
- 3:09Speaker 4: are the same way. If that was his best practice
- 3:12Speaker 4: that he can give us, then what happens if he
- 3:15Speaker 4: plays even better in training camp And we've alreadyhyped up
- 3:18Speaker 4: this practice like it's the best practice ever. So I'm
- 3:20Speaker 4: trying to be a little bit patient with it as
- 3:22Speaker 4: much as I possibly can. As the mccordy twins have
- 3:25Speaker 4: made their way on to the field, both Devan and Jason,
- 3:28Speaker 4: they're here. Dion Branch was here as well. Not to
- 3:30Speaker 4: get off topic, but we saw him too as a
- 3:33Speaker 4: celebrity guest. So I think the biggest thing that you
- 3:36Speaker 4: have to look at with Drake May is that he
- 3:38Speaker 4: doesn't look totally out of place, and he looks like
- 3:41Speaker 4: he belongs on an NFL field. And that's box one
- 3:44Speaker 4: that he has to check. Now, let's check the rest
- 3:47Speaker 4: of these boxes once we get the training camp.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So just a couple of things I'm seeing here, guys,
- 3:51Speaker 2: and we're still kind of chipping away here at attendance.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Did see josh Ucha out here, which it's been a
- 3:57Speaker 2: couple of practices.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Joshua might apologize Joshua.
- 4:00Speaker 2: But one guy I'm not seeing right now is number eleven,
- 4:03Speaker 2: uh Taekwon Thornton. You know, we talked a lot about
- 4:06Speaker 2: him and kind of the last few weeks of having
- 4:08Speaker 2: a pretty good spring to this point, kind of up
- 4:10Speaker 2: and down on Monday. But a little bit disappointing again,
- 4:13Speaker 2: you know, not to see him out here. Not sure
- 4:15Speaker 2: you know, if he's dealing with something or not. But again,
- 4:17Speaker 2: anytime these guys aren't out here, especially at that receiver position, yeah,
- 4:20Speaker 2: stack group.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it's it is a little disappointing. I
- 4:23Speaker 5: mean we're just getting started here, so maybe he'd be uh,
- 4:26Speaker 5: you know, he'll be making his.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Way out here still.
- 4:29Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean you want to see a guy
- 4:31Speaker 5: who I think it's a crossroads year for him, you know,
- 4:33Speaker 5: year three. You know there's opportunities with all that. You know,
- 4:37Speaker 5: a new coaching staff is a chance for him to
- 4:39Speaker 5: sort of carve out a role for for himself. And
- 4:43Speaker 5: I think these are the kinds of practices that he
- 4:45Speaker 5: needs to really make in roads in. And you know,
- 4:48Speaker 5: if he if he is banged up, and we're speculating,
- 4:50Speaker 5: we don't see him right now, they're just going through calisthenics,
- 4:53Speaker 5: but if he is banged up, that would be a
- 4:55Speaker 5: you know, a minor setback for him.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I have.
- 4:58Speaker 4: A roster projection not probably I'm out tomorrow or Friday,
- 5:01Speaker 4: based off the spring, and right now I have Taekwon
- 5:03Speaker 4: Thornton as my fifty fourth guy. He's my last guy
- 5:06Speaker 4: off the roster at the moment, simply because Jalen Rager
- 5:10Speaker 4: can return kicks and he can play on special teams.
- 5:12Speaker 4: If you're gonna carry a fifth or sixth receiver, you
- 5:15Speaker 4: would think that that guy is gonna have to have
- 5:17Speaker 4: some value in the kicking game in order to make
- 5:19Speaker 4: the roster or even make the game day roster, if
- 5:21Speaker 4: you want to go that deep. And I'm just not
- 5:23Speaker 4: sure if Jalen Rager's field stretching ability is that much
- 5:27Speaker 4: worse than Taekwon Thornton's that it makes me lean Thornton
- 5:31Speaker 4: when he has down value. Rager offers a lot of
- 5:35Speaker 4: the same type of explosiveness speed that Thornton does, but
- 5:39Speaker 4: he also can return, and that's the difficult part for Thornton.
- 5:43Speaker 4: It's also a difficult part for Juju that those guys
- 5:45Speaker 4: have to be outright loster players. You know, we talk
- 5:49Speaker 4: about at large spots a lot on catch twenty two,
- 5:52Speaker 4: where it's there's only a finite amount of those because
- 5:55Speaker 4: you're gonna carry two quarterbacks, you're gonna carry three running backs,
- 5:58Speaker 4: you're gonna carry, you know, an exit mount of offensive linemen.
- 6:01Speaker 4: So if there's eight nine spots that are truly up
- 6:04Speaker 4: for grabs, Taekwon Thornton's gonna have to win one of
- 6:07Speaker 4: those outright and be one of the best fifty three
- 6:09Speaker 4: players on the field for the Patriots. And I don't
- 6:12Speaker 4: know if I've necessarily seen that yet.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's uh, it's interesting to see. I mean,
- 6:17Speaker 2: we did Getcha back. Doesn't look like Thornton's coming out. Uh,
- 6:20Speaker 2: you know some of the other names that that just
- 6:22Speaker 2: have been missing the point on and it does look
- 6:24Speaker 2: like I don't know, Paul, if you've got any of
- 6:25Speaker 2: these offensive linemen, Tyron Wheeley, Ryan Johnson, Jake Andrews. Excuse me,
- 6:30Speaker 2: but you know Judaan's back in the mix. Didn't really
- 6:32Speaker 2: see him this this spring. As I mentioned Cha's back,
- 6:35Speaker 2: Jelani Tavai continuing to rehab and Sionic Taki Taki who
- 6:40Speaker 2: those early practices in the spring seemed like he was
- 6:43Speaker 2: pretty involved, and I think, you know, that's kind of
- 6:45Speaker 2: factors in a little bit, i'd say to the edge
- 6:47Speaker 2: depth as well. But I did see the Patriots make
- 6:50Speaker 2: a bottom of the roster move adding Ohio State linebacker
- 6:53Speaker 2: Steel Chambers Evan that's the name.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the name of all names, not a.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Not a you know, I I remember him at the
- 7:00Speaker 2: from the combine, listening to him at the combine, But
- 7:02Speaker 2: former running back switched over to linebacker, had a bunch
- 7:05Speaker 2: of tackles for Ohio State. Not sure last last Ohio
- 7:08Speaker 2: State draft linebacker drafted by Patriots. Maybe we're going back
- 7:12Speaker 2: to the big cap is that catsmore. Could that be
- 7:14Speaker 2: the last time Patriots grab one of those guys, But
- 7:18Speaker 2: we'll see he is here today. Steel Chambers after getting released,
- 7:22Speaker 2: I believe maybe it was at the.
- 7:24Speaker 4: No Doug's Lions from the Envelope guy for Fred Kirse.
- 7:29Speaker 4: He's not here to go on his victory lap. I
- 7:31Speaker 4: was gonna give him his flowers that he told he
- 7:34Speaker 4: wrote down those back of the Envelope guys before the draft.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I remember steel Chambers was one of somebody that I
- 7:40Speaker 4: think definitely has some special teams value, maybe in the
- 7:42Speaker 4: NFL practice squad, special team or that type of player.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I'm not expecting him to make a really strong push
- 7:49Speaker 4: to make the roster, but that linebacker spot is interesting.
- 7:52Speaker 4: We've seen a lot of Rakwon McMillan. Again, it doesn't
- 7:54Speaker 4: seem like they can quit Rayqwan McMillan. So maybe that's
- 7:57Speaker 4: gonna happen again as well. And you look at the
- 8:00Speaker 4: true off ball guys. Yeah, to buy blurs those lines
- 8:04Speaker 4: a little bit. But yeah, Bentley, you have to buy
- 8:07Speaker 4: Taki Talkie's gonna be on this team even though he
- 8:09Speaker 4: hasn't practicing. And then you have a fourth linebacker spot
- 8:12Speaker 4: that I think, just depth wise, they're gonna have to
- 8:15Speaker 4: carry a fourth inside linebacker and it definitely feels like
- 8:18Speaker 4: Raykwan McMillan's that guy right now.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So you guys got to look there just a second ago,
- 8:21Speaker 2: Dion Brandt super Bowl thirty nine here, oh kind of
- 8:23Speaker 2: thirty eight hero too. I mean, that guy caught more
- 8:25Speaker 2: balls than those two Super Bowls than I can count
- 8:27Speaker 2: right now. But so many guys are back for tonight
- 8:30Speaker 2: for Tom Brady Night. We had the rehearsal last night.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Seeing so many former players coming in super cool. I mean,
- 8:37Speaker 2: you can just tell. I think the vibe of this
- 8:39Speaker 2: is going to be, you know, a lot more stories.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I think that's the fun stuff is hearing the stories
- 8:43Speaker 2: from all these guys that were Tom's teammates, giving you
- 8:45Speaker 2: a glimpse behind the scenes.
- 8:46Speaker 3: What it was really like.
- 8:47Speaker 2: So as much as you may or may not have
- 8:49Speaker 2: enjoyed the roast, I think there will definitely be some comedy,
- 8:52Speaker 2: maybe not necessarily at the expense of Tom Brady, but
- 8:54Speaker 2: plenty of stories that involved him and just you know,
- 8:57Speaker 2: some housekeeping stuff because we've got some people writing in
- 9:00Speaker 2: the stream. Is going to start. Patriots dot Com Patriots YouTube.
- 9:03Speaker 2: You can start about five thirty pm Eastern Standard time.
- 9:05Speaker 2: We'll be on the red carpet doing it Hollywood style
- 9:08Speaker 2: as everybody comes in. We'll have Tamaya out there, Jason mccordy,
- 9:11Speaker 2: Dietrich Wise, we'll be hosting that. I'll be out there.
- 9:15Speaker 2: We'll be doing a lot of fun stuff with guys
- 9:17Speaker 2: coming in.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Getting a sense of that.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And then if you are coming to the event tonight,
- 9:20Speaker 2: they're asking everyone get to the stadium getting your seats
- 9:23Speaker 2: by six thirty, so be ready to spur everything to
- 9:25Speaker 2: kind of get going right at seven o'clock. But if
- 9:28Speaker 2: you want to check out that pregame show starting about
- 9:30Speaker 2: five thirty till about seven o'clock, will be there. You
- 9:33Speaker 2: get a sense of everybody that's coming in. It should
- 9:36Speaker 2: be a really, really cool night. Thankfully the weather has cooperated.
- 9:39Speaker 2: An absolutely beautiful day. And unfortunately you got to look
- 9:42Speaker 2: at us right now because they're doing some walkthrough stuff
- 9:45Speaker 2: as they are wont to do. Paul and kind of
- 9:47Speaker 2: get some getting some look at special teams here and
- 9:50Speaker 2: I guess we're what we're seeing. I guess we can
- 9:51Speaker 2: describe it a little bit, but it's more of the kickoff.
- 9:53Speaker 2: And we've talked about this plenty, this new kickoff, and
- 9:57Speaker 2: we've seen different kind of approaches to it. I'm sure
- 9:59Speaker 2: other teams doing similar kind of things, but kind of
- 10:02Speaker 2: a new twist. Pall, I know you're a big special
- 10:03Speaker 2: teams guy. Love it. I can't get enough of it.
- 10:06Speaker 3: He got a whole new twist to kind of consider
- 10:07Speaker 3: this year.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it's going to be experimenting and we
- 10:10Speaker 5: know that, and I think teams are probably going to
- 10:12Speaker 5: continue to search even after the season starts because there's
- 10:15Speaker 5: no real I think Evan made the point last week,
- 10:17Speaker 5: there's no real data, you know, on it to go
- 10:20Speaker 5: off of and sort of identify what they think is
- 10:22Speaker 5: the best course of action. So I think you'll see teams,
- 10:25Speaker 5: you know, doing some different things in the early part
- 10:27Speaker 5: of the season. We'll see, I would unfold. Before practice started,
- 10:32Speaker 5: we did hear from girod Mayo and Evan you were
- 10:34Speaker 5: down there. I don't know if if Mayo had anything
- 10:37Speaker 5: you know, out of the ordinary today that you wanted
- 10:39Speaker 5: to relay.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Well, I think there's one thing that's going on on
- 10:42Speaker 4: the other practice field as the offense goes through, uh,
- 10:46Speaker 4: you know warm ups here or whatever. Big thing about
- 10:49Speaker 4: the offensive line that we've seen the last couple of
- 10:51Speaker 4: practices is mike onwen who sliding back inside the guard
- 10:54Speaker 4: and kyd and Wallace getting a ton of reps at
- 10:56Speaker 4: right tackle, and the comments that Mayo's made, And I
- 11:00Speaker 4: know a couple people that were at the community events
- 11:03Speaker 4: yesterday actually spoke to Michael when who directly a little
- 11:06Speaker 4: bit about this is just best five, And it feels
- 11:09Speaker 4: like they're starting to settle, at least early on, that
- 11:12Speaker 4: their best five might have Kayden Wallace at right tackle
- 11:16Speaker 4: and Mike on Wenhu back inside at guard. And I
- 11:19Speaker 4: thought that that was where it might head.
- 11:21Speaker 2: All along we've been all three of us have been
- 11:24Speaker 2: locked down.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, you look at it and you say,
- 11:27Speaker 4: is Kayden Wallace a better right tackle than Nick Leverett
- 11:31Speaker 4: is a guard or Leyden Robinson is a guard? And
- 11:34Speaker 4: you hope that the answer to that question is yes,
- 11:36Speaker 4: given the fact that you drafted him sixty eighth overall.
- 11:39Speaker 4: So I think we're headed in this direction with this
- 11:42Speaker 4: group that we could come out here in training camp
- 11:44Speaker 4: on day one in a couple of weeks and it
- 11:46Speaker 4: might be this offensive line that we're looking at. So
- 11:49Speaker 4: I find that fascinating because that's not let's not twist.
- 11:53Speaker 2: That wasn't the plan. That's what I was. It's just
- 11:56Speaker 2: so surprising.
- 11:57Speaker 5: There's something going on right now that's kind of funny
- 11:59Speaker 5: that you don't see a lot, and I know we're
- 12:01Speaker 5: not showing it, but just like they have the offensive
- 12:03Speaker 5: lineman sort of running off mine a scrimmage and throwing
- 12:07Speaker 5: don with Hunter Henry trying to trying to drop dimes.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Having fun.
- 12:11Speaker 2: This is funny, it is. It is pretty fireless.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I mean it's been it's been a few years since
- 12:15Speaker 3: I've seen anything like this.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Beautiful one.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Looks like the quarterbacks are running around too. Drake May
- 12:22Speaker 4: is running her out right now. Yeah, it's high point Grafts.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So just something that you know, was a little out
- 12:27Speaker 3: of the ordinary. It's just a fun, fat, big day.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Are you guys surprised though?
- 12:32Speaker 4: Too much fun?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Are you are? Are you guys surprised though that? I mean,
- 12:35Speaker 2: here we are in uh, you know, day two of
- 12:38Speaker 2: mini camp practices and we're already seeing Michael and when
- 12:40Speaker 2: you inside after you know, hearing essentially the Patriots saying
- 12:44Speaker 2: we see him as as the best tackle on the market,
- 12:46Speaker 2: and you know that's where he's gonna start. I mean,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I I I'm I'm a little surprised that it's it
- 12:51Speaker 2: didn't even take the pads to come on in mini
- 12:53Speaker 2: camp that they're already kind of considering moving him back inside.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I'm a little surprised because of the comments, yeah, especially
- 13:00Speaker 4: by Elliott Wolf, that he's the best tackle on the
- 13:02Speaker 4: market and we're already gonna do this and this is
- 13:06Speaker 4: probably not the forum for it. We can talk about
- 13:08Speaker 4: this maybe a little bit more tomorrow when we have
- 13:10Speaker 4: our typical PU but these are the types of things
- 13:13Speaker 4: that we talk about as much as we want to
- 13:15Speaker 4: hear more from Elliott Wolf and Girod Mayo. When you
- 13:17Speaker 4: go out there and you say, well, we signed the
- 13:19Speaker 4: best tackle on the market, and then he's all of
- 13:21Speaker 4: a sudden, we get into these practices and he's playing
- 13:24Speaker 4: guard again, which is what all of us have been
- 13:26Speaker 4: saying that mike On Wennu was really a natural guard.
- 13:28Speaker 4: He's not a tackle. It just makes it makes for
- 13:31Speaker 4: those types of moments of like what are they doing?
- 13:34Speaker 4: You know, what's the plan here? So I am a
- 13:36Speaker 4: little bit surprised because of that, But I'm not surprised
- 13:39Speaker 4: based off the skill set of Mike on Wenu. I
- 13:41Speaker 4: think we all can see that he's better suited body
- 13:45Speaker 4: type wise and all that type of stuff to play
- 13:47Speaker 4: inside and as good as I feel like his tape
- 13:50Speaker 4: at right tackle wasn't necessarily all that great. It was
- 13:54Speaker 4: just so much better than.
- 13:55Speaker 2: What they had there.
- 13:57Speaker 4: It felt a lot better, but it wasn't as necessarily
- 14:00Speaker 4: as good as you might think when he goes up
- 14:02Speaker 4: against the Khalil Mack who absolutely killed him in that
- 14:05Speaker 4: game against the Chargers, or a TJ. Watt, And I
- 14:07Speaker 4: know these are elite guys, but those are the guys
- 14:09Speaker 4: that you face every single week.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Right, I'm going to surprise you guys a little bit.
- 14:13Speaker 5: I think this is a positive development. And the reason
- 14:16Speaker 5: I said now, first, Evan's right, because it wasn't only
- 14:19Speaker 5: that they said he was the best tackle on the
- 14:21Speaker 5: market and all that, but they said unequivocally.
- 14:24Speaker 2: He will play tackle.
- 14:25Speaker 3: He will play right tackle.
- 14:26Speaker 5: They said that sort of definitively, which is rare to
- 14:30Speaker 5: hear coaches talk like that. But the reason I think
- 14:33Speaker 5: it's a positive development is I think it says a
- 14:35Speaker 5: lot of Kayden Wallace in a corps for and where
- 14:39Speaker 5: they think those guys are that they feel comfortable enough
- 14:43Speaker 5: to move a when you where you know, I think
- 14:46Speaker 5: the three of us all agree again, he's better suited,
- 14:50Speaker 5: you know. So I think they feel maybe when Elliott
- 14:53Speaker 5: Wolf was so adamant about it, maybe he felt, I
- 14:56Speaker 5: don't want to put that pressure on someone who's not
- 14:58Speaker 5: even here yet, right, So I'm just going to say
- 15:01Speaker 5: he's a tackle. So no one's going to well a
- 15:03Speaker 5: sudden annoyed somebody. Maybe they like, you know, the six
- 15:06Speaker 5: weeks that they've had to work with Kayden Wallace and
- 15:09Speaker 5: in a core for and they feel comfortable.
- 15:11Speaker 3: So I'm going to look at that as a positive,
- 15:12Speaker 3: no doubt. I'm going to give you a button there
- 15:14Speaker 3: you go.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Doubt.
- 15:16Speaker 4: That's definitely one way of looking at it. And I
- 15:18Speaker 4: I once you get over the fact that they invested
- 15:21Speaker 4: in WNU to play tackle. As their own words, I
- 15:24Speaker 4: agree with Paul, this is probably their best line that
- 15:27Speaker 4: they have, and I think Kayden Wallace is best stuited
- 15:29Speaker 4: to play on the right side as well. So it's
- 15:32Speaker 4: a good development in that sense, and I think it
- 15:34Speaker 4: does definitely tell you that they have some confidence in
- 15:36Speaker 4: what they've seen from Chukes as well on the left side,
- 15:39Speaker 4: so maybe they like what is coming together here on paper,
- 15:43Speaker 4: at least with with those five together. And even though
- 15:47Speaker 4: we're I feel like we're also going to hear a
- 15:49Speaker 4: lot about how well now on when he was a
- 15:51Speaker 4: really overpaid guard.
- 15:53Speaker 2: But at the same time, right there, well, I mean.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Right, but at the same time, we're in an era
- 16:02Speaker 4: right now where interior pass rush is destroying the league,
- 16:08Speaker 4: is taking over the league. I know Aaron Donald retired,
- 16:10Speaker 4: but when you look at a bunch of the other
- 16:12Speaker 4: guys still even in the division, when you have Quinn
- 16:15Speaker 4: Williams twice a year and you have it all over
- 16:17Speaker 4: twice a year, there's a lot of value right now
- 16:20Speaker 4: and interior line play on both sides of the ball,
- 16:22Speaker 4: and those dts are getting I mean, we saw what
- 16:24Speaker 4: happened with Barmore's extension. Those guys are getting a hundreon
- 16:27Speaker 4: one hundred million dollar contracts on the interior, So there
- 16:31Speaker 4: is I still think a lot of value in having
- 16:33Speaker 4: that interior presence.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Absolutely, Yeah, that's why they draft the guard in the
- 16:36Speaker 3: first round.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Oh, Mike, see what I'm saying. You was coming well,
- 16:44Speaker 2: I was going to say, having just a highlight I mean,
- 16:45Speaker 2: I was That's where my head was going, was it
- 16:47Speaker 2: does put a little bit more of a spotlight on
- 16:49Speaker 2: a core of four at the left tackle spot. I
- 16:52Speaker 2: mean not that I really had high hopes that King
- 16:53Speaker 2: Wallace was going to come in and instantly be you know,
- 16:55Speaker 2: switch to left tackle, and but really it's it's you know,
- 16:58Speaker 2: you're seeing Calvin anders back there now. You know, it
- 17:01Speaker 2: seems like after a CORPS four, they don't really have
- 17:05Speaker 2: a guy to.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Consider to really kind of compete with him.
- 17:08Speaker 2: It all seems like it's kind of on Big seventy
- 17:10Speaker 2: seven right now.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I definitely think, I definitely think that Calvin Anderson
- 17:17Speaker 4: is somebody that maybe as a swing or a backup
- 17:20Speaker 4: tackle it could fit into this puzzle a little bit
- 17:23Speaker 4: more cleaner. You look at what he did in Denver
- 17:25Speaker 4: before all of the last season, you have to throw
- 17:28Speaker 4: out for him absolutely get an off the field. The
- 17:30Speaker 4: health issue and it just completely spiraled and it's unfortunate,
- 17:34Speaker 4: and I'm glad that he's back and he's healthy, and.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That's the most important thing.
- 17:38Speaker 4: So I almost look at this as year one for
- 17:40Speaker 4: Calvin Anderson going into this and I don't necessarily know
- 17:43Speaker 4: if he's going to push for a starting job. But
- 17:45Speaker 4: if he's your third tackle, I could you could do worse. Yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 4: you know, a lot around the league. I think that's
- 17:51Speaker 4: one thing that not to excuse everything, but that's one
- 17:55Speaker 4: thing that we have to keep in perspective is that
- 17:57Speaker 4: the tackle play league wide is not necessarily great right now.
- 18:01Speaker 4: And there's a lot of teams, just like the Patriots
- 18:04Speaker 4: that are going into their summers and into their training
- 18:07Speaker 4: camps being like, what what the heck are we doing
- 18:09Speaker 4: at tackle? And who's going to be our starters and
- 18:11Speaker 4: where's our depth? And there's a lot of teams that
- 18:14Speaker 4: are like that. Actually I saw yesterday. I think it
- 18:17Speaker 4: was that our old friend Trent Brown is already getting
- 18:20Speaker 4: weight issues talked about in Cincinnati.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Before the show standing and they're like doing his arms.
- 18:25Speaker 4: The Bengals fans are already right and.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I could have seen that.
- 18:30Speaker 2: So I'm just saying that this is happening in.
- 18:33Speaker 4: A lot of camps around the NFL right now, that
- 18:35Speaker 4: tackle is a big issue.
- 18:36Speaker 2: It's crazy because you just look at Trent Brown, his stature,
- 18:40Speaker 2: and it's it's just team after team after team. You know,
- 18:43Speaker 2: it's willing to feel like we can we can fix you,
- 18:45Speaker 2: we can get you on the program. Uh, I mean,
- 18:48Speaker 2: I'd be interested to see how he fits in with
- 18:49Speaker 2: Joe Joe Burrow and that whole that whole unit. So
- 18:52Speaker 2: we're back on the field now, as you can see. Uh,
- 18:54Speaker 2: we got the quarterbacks working, We get the offensive line
- 18:57Speaker 2: back in. Oh of course, that little jay z. Will
- 19:03Speaker 2: Tom Brady tribute here and uh yeah, we'll see if
- 19:06Speaker 2: more more alumni maybe pop in here over the course
- 19:09Speaker 2: of Practice's like Dean Branch is still out there, has
- 19:12Speaker 2: been out here in the past years.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Yeah, good helping out with their receivers.
- 19:16Speaker 2: He's a part of louis I think he's part of Louisville. Uh, Wouisville.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Yes, this is not the first time I've seen Dion
- 19:22Speaker 4: and the Patriots practice.
- 19:25Speaker 2: So so yeah, this is a you know, pretty standard
- 19:29Speaker 2: warm ups as far as uh, you know how they
- 19:32Speaker 2: kind of divide up.
- 19:33Speaker 4: It's disappointing that Javon Baker once again does not look
- 19:36Speaker 4: like he's participating in these drills with the receivers. And
- 19:40Speaker 4: he's supposed to talk after practice. I don't know if
- 19:42Speaker 4: that's still gonna happen now that he's a really a
- 19:45Speaker 4: non participant. I think we can call it that because
- 19:48Speaker 4: warm ups and stretching and then and it goes to
- 19:50Speaker 4: the hartfield and that is disappointing because he's the one
- 19:54Speaker 4: guy out of this receiver group outside of uh probably
- 19:57Speaker 4: Pop Douglas. I'd give him that too, that move a
- 20:00Speaker 4: little bit different, that has that twitch and that explosiveness yep,
- 20:03Speaker 4: that they don't necessarily have in that room. So not
- 20:06Speaker 4: seeing him the last what two or three practices, I
- 20:08Speaker 4: want to say it's been it has been a little disappointed.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but but uh, you know, highlight too good practice
- 20:13Speaker 2: on Monday. Jalen Polp, you know, starting to show up.
- 20:16Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 20:16Speaker 2: I know last week we talked a little bit about
- 20:19Speaker 2: him being quiet so far, but I think those you know,
- 20:22Speaker 2: a couple of catches he had showed what he's going
- 20:25Speaker 2: to be able to do. You know, he's got some
- 20:27Speaker 2: size and that's why it seemed like those you know,
- 20:29Speaker 2: those kind of plays. Can you know, I don''t call
- 20:31Speaker 2: it a contested catch, but you know he's got a
- 20:33Speaker 2: guy on him, he's in the end zone. His strong hands,
- 20:35Speaker 2: his ability to kind of box out. I thought that was,
- 20:37Speaker 2: you know, kind of showed up he's the guy who
- 20:39Speaker 2: makes those kind of catch Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 4: That one in the back of the end zone was
- 20:42Speaker 4: vintage Jalen Pulp. That's exactly what you're expecting to get
- 20:45Speaker 4: out of him. Is Like you said, is it contested.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I don't know if I would call it contested. It's
- 20:49Speaker 4: more they're all kind of tight. It's a tight window throw.
- 20:52Speaker 4: I guess he's the better way of putting it. And uh, yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 4: you have you know guys that are boxed out and
- 20:57Speaker 4: stuff like that.
- 20:59Speaker 2: It's too bad I wasn't here. I'd be able to
- 21:01Speaker 2: tell you what it was. Just trust us, Paul, trust us.
- 21:04Speaker 2: But and then I thought too, kJ Osborne to a
- 21:08Speaker 2: little bit more active on Monday another one. I mean,
- 21:12Speaker 2: he's in the mix and with the top group, and
- 21:13Speaker 2: I mean, as much as you want to pump up
- 21:15Speaker 2: the rookies, it's really been Thornton, Juju, the you know,
- 21:19Speaker 2: Pop Douglas, those veterans getting the early reps. You know.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I think one thing I did think was interesting Paul,
- 21:24Speaker 2: that they did a little bit was this is why
- 21:27Speaker 2: it's so hard to like really make a true judgment,
- 21:30Speaker 2: is you know they had Drake May going against the defense.
- 21:34Speaker 2: That was mostly top line guys in the front seven,
- 21:38Speaker 2: but then all backups in the secondary, so you know,
- 21:40Speaker 2: they kind of they spin it a little bit. It's
- 21:42Speaker 2: not you know, I mean, Evan, I think you made
- 21:44Speaker 2: the point on the live show on Monday. It'd be
- 21:47Speaker 2: nice to see him go against the top guys and
- 21:49Speaker 2: go against you know, Gonzales and you know Jonathan Jones.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Still seems limited, but it seems like they are doing
- 21:55Speaker 2: some things to try to up the competition competitive level
- 21:58Speaker 2: for him.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Well, we talked a lot about the order of the
- 22:01Speaker 4: quarterbacks and that Drake May seems like he's jumped Bailey
- 22:04Speaker 4: Zappy on the depth chart. Now Jeron Mao's sister. There
- 22:06Speaker 4: are no depth charts this time time of year, but
- 22:09Speaker 4: it does.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Feel that way.
- 22:10Speaker 4: But I think even more importantly from last practice was
- 22:13Speaker 4: the volume of reps that Drake May was getting compared
- 22:17Speaker 4: to the other two quarterback Zappi in Milton, Drake May
- 22:20Speaker 4: had twenty nine competitive reps and Jacob Brissett had thirty.
- 22:24Speaker 4: So we're getting to that point now where it's about even,
- 22:26Speaker 4: but the competitive reps as well, So even though it's
- 22:30Speaker 4: important who they're working with, if you go back to
- 22:32Speaker 4: Max whop he can't remember. He wasn't always working with
- 22:35Speaker 4: the ones, but he was getting the bulk of the
- 22:37Speaker 4: volume of the reps right. And that's so that's what
- 22:40Speaker 4: I've always had my intenta is up about with this
- 22:42Speaker 4: whole thing, is at what point do we see Drake
- 22:45Speaker 4: May overtake Kobe Wessett in volume where it's Jacoby Brissett
- 22:49Speaker 4: goes down the field once and then Drake May goes
- 22:51Speaker 4: down two or three times. That's when you start to
- 22:54Speaker 4: get those inklings that maybe he's ahead of schedule or
- 22:57Speaker 4: you're you're seeing him start to make a push if
- 23:00Speaker 4: he'd start earlier.
- 23:01Speaker 2: That was the Cam Newton thing, right, And in twenty
- 23:02Speaker 2: twenty one it was like camell come out and do
- 23:04Speaker 2: like the first four reps as the starter, and then
- 23:07Speaker 2: it was like three series of Mac Jones, you know,
- 23:10Speaker 2: and you could you could kind of feel the push
- 23:13Speaker 2: that Mac was making.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I mean, one thing that I seen, though.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Really and I agree with, is that I don't see
- 23:19Speaker 2: a lot of difference between Jacoby Brissett and Drake May
- 23:21Speaker 2: at this point, like and then you know, I know
- 23:23Speaker 2: that they have to build the offense and they're going
- 23:25Speaker 2: against the defense. That is returning guys and have the
- 23:27Speaker 2: same things, YadA, YadA, YadA. But at the same time,
- 23:31Speaker 2: for all this talk of it's gonna be Jacoby Brissett,
- 23:33Speaker 2: it's gonna be Jacoby Brissett, it's not a huge difference
- 23:36Speaker 2: than when Jacoby Brisset's one in the offense or Drake
- 23:39Speaker 2: May's in there. It kind of generally looks the same,
- 23:41Speaker 2: which is play here, pressure, throwaway here, those kind of
- 23:46Speaker 2: up and down moments, And.
- 23:47Speaker 5: If that's the way it unfolds, then it's going to
- 23:49Speaker 5: be you know, I would say that favors Drake May,
- 23:52Speaker 5: but you know, we'll see, we'll see when it gets
- 23:54Speaker 5: you know into you know, every day we're coming out
- 23:57Speaker 5: here and we're seeing a practice, then you know, they're
- 24:00Speaker 5: just in a couple of times that we don't see,
- 24:01Speaker 5: and then we see another practice. You know, Well, in
- 24:04Speaker 5: another six weeks or so, we're going to see you know,
- 24:06Speaker 5: fifteen or sixteen.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Practices in no row. Yeah, and you know you get
- 24:10Speaker 2: a little bit more of a gauge. Yeah, in preseason
- 24:12Speaker 2: games which Drake May will play. Yeah, so that'll be
- 24:15Speaker 2: big too.
- 24:15Speaker 4: And I just feel like when you watch these practices,
- 24:18Speaker 4: do something right there with you that it doesn't look
- 24:21Speaker 4: like there's a drop off or really that that Jacoby's
- 24:24Speaker 4: the way ahead of Drake May. And the one thing
- 24:27Speaker 4: I'll continue to harp on the athleticism is not close.
- 24:30Speaker 4: So once you start to get to things that he's
- 24:33Speaker 4: able to get outside the pocket, he's able to extend plays,
- 24:36Speaker 4: he's really in a live scramble situation. All that type
- 24:39Speaker 4: of stuff is going to favor Drake May. When I
- 24:41Speaker 4: watch this offense right now in structure, when they're trying
- 24:45Speaker 4: to just hit things in rhythm and on time, it's
- 24:48Speaker 4: going to be a slog at times because they don't
- 24:49Speaker 4: have the playmakers on the outside. They're going to continue
- 24:52Speaker 4: to win individual match.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I think we just got that on video. But Joe
- 24:56Speaker 2: Milton just did a back, standing back, just like.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Standing there throwing passes in the end zone. He just
- 25:00Speaker 5: did one of those standing backflips.
- 25:02Speaker 2: We were talking before the show and the guys were saying, hey,
- 25:05Speaker 2: you know, Fred was trying to get us to shoot stuff. Uh,
- 25:07Speaker 2: you know, so if you need something like just let
- 25:09Speaker 2: us know it's hard. First thing, and I'm like, well,
- 25:10Speaker 2: Joe Milton's gonna do a no I know, was what
- 25:13Speaker 2: I said, I was like, well, if somebody does like
- 25:14Speaker 2: a backflip or so, like, I guess Joe Milton must
- 25:16Speaker 2: have hurt me. But it was funny at a little
- 25:19Speaker 2: a little flare and I don't know what. So he
- 25:21Speaker 2: did that the Senior Bowl.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Also he threw a rocket up the seam to I
- 25:26Speaker 4: think it was THEO Johnson the Penn State tight end.
- 25:28Speaker 4: He caught it, and Joe Milton just did a backflip
- 25:31Speaker 4: like on on cue right right right in uh, in
- 25:34Speaker 4: one fluid motion throw backflip. It was fun.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I mean it's you know, we joke Evian about, you know,
- 25:39Speaker 2: our big boards and stuff, and there was a certain
- 25:41Speaker 2: point I was like, I'm all right with Joe Milon comming,
- 25:43Speaker 2: like it would just be fun to watch these kind
- 25:44Speaker 2: of things happen. I've kind of been, uh, you know,
- 25:47Speaker 2: pleasantly surprised by the Joe Milton experience, just because it
- 25:50Speaker 2: doesn't really feel like what we were so worried about,
- 25:53Speaker 2: like oh they're being you know a competition between them,
- 25:55Speaker 2: or people trying to like make it out to be
- 25:57Speaker 2: like he's gonna I mean, he's the four st very small.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I agree with Evan.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I think that they've sort of nipped that in the
- 26:05Speaker 3: bud by not giving him any reps.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but hey, a standing backflip during warm up drills,
- 26:09Speaker 2: I'm here for it.
- 26:10Speaker 4: To what Paul said earlier, I'd be fascinated to know
- 26:13Speaker 4: behind closed doors how many reps he's getting, because when
- 26:16Speaker 4: we're out here, yeah, I believe he had six competitive
- 26:19Speaker 4: reps and a lot of it is those opportunity periods
- 26:21Speaker 4: at the end of practice, so it's not a whole
- 26:24Speaker 4: lot of actual reps that he's getting. So there's no
- 26:27Speaker 4: way for us to come out here and say, oh,
- 26:29Speaker 4: Joe Milton's making a push, or Joe Milton looks impressive.
- 26:32Speaker 4: He made one throw though last practice into the sideline
- 26:35Speaker 4: and the left sideline over here that was like a
- 26:38Speaker 4: twenty yard out just you know, right like right out
- 26:42Speaker 4: of the hand, and you say, wow that you know,
- 26:44Speaker 4: that's the type of arm talent that they just didn't
- 26:47Speaker 4: have in the quarterback room in the last couple of years,
- 26:49Speaker 4: from both guys, from both rookies. You know, I'm not
- 26:51Speaker 4: just saying it's just Joe Milton, but the upgrade and
- 26:53Speaker 4: arm talent that they've made in maybe the downgrade and
- 26:56Speaker 4: in some other areas, but the upgrade and arm talent
- 26:59Speaker 4: that they made signific Lee stands out every single practice.
- 27:02Speaker 5: It gets back to your point about the preseason games
- 27:04Speaker 5: when you were talking about, you know, seeing guys, and
- 27:06Speaker 5: I kind of chuckled because I know it sounds weird.
- 27:09Speaker 5: I'm you know, that's my bread and butter. Those are
- 27:11Speaker 5: my games when I get, I get my time to shine.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I care less about those that I do, the training
- 27:16Speaker 5: camp practices and whatnot, just.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Because I think it's such a.
- 27:22Speaker 5: I just think that it's such a difference in situations,
- 27:25Speaker 5: and you never know in a preseason game how the
- 27:27Speaker 5: opportunities are going to plan plan out. But that's where
- 27:30Speaker 5: I would be a little bit more concerned about Milton
- 27:32Speaker 5: in terms of the stuff that only I get concerned about.
- 27:36Speaker 5: I get these are things that just I worry about.
- 27:38Speaker 5: But like Michael Bishop when he was a rookie in
- 27:41Speaker 5: training camp practices did not show up at all. Now
- 27:44Speaker 5: and all of a sudden, he goes out there in
- 27:46Speaker 5: the fourth quarter of a game. He runs around, He's
- 27:48Speaker 5: a dynamic athlete. He's making plays, he's throwing bombs to
- 27:52Speaker 5: guys like Mike Sheridan and Sean Moury. Yep, look it up.
- 27:55Speaker 5: Look it up, people, Those are the guys he's throwing
- 27:57Speaker 5: passes to. And we lostar ever loving minds over it.
- 28:03Speaker 4: It was like cunning him last yell, like Malie Cunningham
- 28:05Speaker 4: had one drive.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Now Bishop was on steroids compared to cunning him, but
- 28:10Speaker 5: exactly Evanthon Mike exactly with that drive that Cunningham did
- 28:14Speaker 5: last year carried all the way through the season. Joe
- 28:18Speaker 5: Milton is going to have some opportunities to do that,
- 28:20Speaker 5: more than likely in those first couple of games at
- 28:22Speaker 5: some point. And that's when I think, if there's any
- 28:25Speaker 5: potential for noise, and I'm not telling you it's noise
- 28:28Speaker 5: on the team, I'm telling you noise from the outside,
- 28:31Speaker 5: that's when it would happen.
- 28:33Speaker 2: It was also there was a play on the on
- 28:35Speaker 2: the far field, right in the closest end zone. I
- 28:36Speaker 2: forget who caught the touchdown from him, but it was
- 28:40Speaker 2: you know, the offense was looking kind of stagnant like
- 28:42Speaker 2: it has the last week training camps, and the same
- 28:44Speaker 2: kind of thing where he came in. He threw a
- 28:45Speaker 2: pass which I thought was like I thought it was
- 28:47Speaker 2: an amazing catch, Like I thought it was a bath
- 28:49Speaker 2: through amazing catch, but it was billed by as Matt
- 28:52Speaker 2: Smith calls it, the no it all ten as like,
- 28:54Speaker 2: oh my god, Mollie Cunningham just threw a dart and
- 28:58Speaker 2: the people last year of him last year unbelievable catch, unbelievable.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Okay, PODi, right right, he was right in front of us.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I thought you were talking about Monday when I wasn't here. No, oh,
- 29:07Speaker 3: I know exactly.
- 29:08Speaker 2: You were talking about you, right, And that gets sold
- 29:10Speaker 2: the bill of goods of oh, you know, milk. Cunningham's
- 29:13Speaker 2: throwing it around the yard right now. But I see
- 29:17Speaker 2: that he's moved to receiver by the way. Uh yeah,
- 29:19Speaker 2: oh yeah, I forgot who He's another one of those guys.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Though when I was doing the roster protection in the
- 29:24Speaker 4: fifty five, he's definitely on the bubble.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, he's in the mix.
- 29:27Speaker 4: But the one thing that I have hesitation with putting
- 29:30Speaker 4: him on the team because the league still hasn't made
- 29:33Speaker 4: a decision on his potential suspension yet for all the
- 29:36Speaker 4: incidents that happened for him. So if they put him
- 29:39Speaker 4: on the fifty three man roster, my guess is you're
- 29:41Speaker 4: gonna get a letter from Roger the next day, I
- 29:43Speaker 4: did say.
- 29:44Speaker 6: Yeah, he's suspended in the right right, Well, I mean, na,
- 29:47Speaker 6: it could work out for the best, and you know
- 29:48Speaker 6: these things, but you could also protect his rights by
- 29:51Speaker 6: doing that if you if you wanted them, if you
- 29:53Speaker 6: wanted to keep him around, because then if he gets suspended,
- 29:56Speaker 6: you know you get to replace him.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's possible.
- 29:59Speaker 4: But he's made some plays that yesterday or Monday for sure,
- 30:04Speaker 4: made a couple of catches went from Drake May that
- 30:07Speaker 4: was a nice throw in red zone seven on seven.
- 30:09Speaker 4: So he's made some plays. He hasn't been invisible. He
- 30:12Speaker 4: wasn't like that. I've never written down his name.
- 30:14Speaker 5: He showed up a few times. And Mike mentioned that
- 30:16Speaker 5: catch that he made last year. He showed up a
- 30:18Speaker 5: few times. I thought he got up to a slow
- 30:20Speaker 5: starting camp last year, but came on as as it progressed.
- 30:23Speaker 5: And listen that that group that we've talked about this
- 30:27Speaker 5: there's a lot of numbers, but there's not a lot
- 30:28Speaker 5: of depth. There's going to be jobs to be one
- 30:30Speaker 5: and you know someone's going to stack some days together
- 30:33Speaker 5: and win a job. I think Evan has that nailed.
- 30:35Speaker 5: If you're talking about those guys being sort of the
- 30:38Speaker 5: last spots on your on your projection rager than.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Booty Body and in Taekwon, are really the guys that
- 30:47Speaker 4: it's four or five deep. If you want to include
- 30:49Speaker 4: Juju and Osborne in that mix too, I might not be.
- 30:52Speaker 5: I was kind of leaning Osborne in, but jujus another one,
- 30:56Speaker 5: and I wouldn't be surprised that.
- 30:58Speaker 2: They're still sort of searching for sort of solution there.
- 31:02Speaker 5: But I thought you guys mentioned Osborne, you know, showed
- 31:05Speaker 5: up a little bit on Monday. I thought the last
- 31:06Speaker 5: practice that we saw in OTAs he sort of was
- 31:09Speaker 5: coming on in that practice too. So again you start
- 31:12Speaker 5: to stack some days and see the same guys show
- 31:14Speaker 5: up one practice to the next.
- 31:16Speaker 3: That's what the that's what these coaches are looking for.
- 31:18Speaker 4: You definitely wonder the drops with him were an issue
- 31:21Speaker 4: last year and they've been a little bit of an
- 31:22Speaker 4: issue in practice so far. Is that a mental thing.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Has he got kind of a mental block or the
- 31:27Speaker 4: yips or something like that going on? So you know,
- 31:30Speaker 4: one other thing quickly that Gerard Mayo mentioned before practice
- 31:33Speaker 4: is that this is going to be a shorter practice,
- 31:35Speaker 4: and I don't know how much real competitive stuff we're
- 31:38Speaker 4: going to do here today because they've been they've been
- 31:40Speaker 4: at this for a little while now with OTAs in
- 31:44Speaker 4: mini camps, so right now this definitely has a little
- 31:46Speaker 4: bit of a slower pace. We had the fun, you know,
- 31:49Speaker 4: quarterbacks running routes, offensive lineman running round.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Sure, that was until Henry Throwing Walls had a nice
- 31:55Speaker 2: one hand that one hand catch. Antonio Moffey didn't look
- 31:59Speaker 2: like he had great hands though. So I think we're
- 32:01Speaker 2: up to two on the backflip counter, right they got
- 32:03Speaker 2: another one. I missed. I missed the second. Do you
- 32:05Speaker 2: think you can just like, if you can backflip, you
- 32:06Speaker 2: can just do it whenever you want or do you need,
- 32:08Speaker 2: Like I'm feeling backflippy today, Like yeah, it just seems
- 32:11Speaker 2: like a lot of energy.
- 32:11Speaker 3: To jump up in the air and do flip.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Not to make it too big of a deal out
- 32:15Speaker 4: of it, because it's not. But that's a six foot
- 32:17Speaker 4: five and thirty pound guy back, which tells you a
- 32:21Speaker 4: little bit about the athleticism that you're talking about.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I level the tour going on there.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Uh, but yeah, this is otherwise, this has been kind
- 32:28Speaker 2: of standard from what we've seen a lot of you know,
- 32:31Speaker 2: mirrored kind of throwing on both sides for two quarterbacks
- 32:33Speaker 2: at once, you know, but you do wonder after this
- 32:37Speaker 2: point did they did they cut down to three quarterbacks?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Do they?
- 32:40Speaker 4: Well? That was one thing that Girodd said he expects
- 32:42Speaker 4: to go in with four. Yeah, into training. Okay, Oh,
- 32:45Speaker 4: there's another one. He sort of changed his tune on. Yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 4: so he said that he expects to go in with four.
- 32:52Speaker 4: I still feel like there's two questions with it. One
- 32:55Speaker 4: is can you get anything for Bailey's appy in a trade?
- 32:58Speaker 4: And two do you want to really slow play Drake
- 33:02Speaker 4: May's development? And if golfer Bidge Cooley Brissett goes down
- 33:06Speaker 4: with an injury in the first half of a Week
- 33:07Speaker 4: one in Cincinnati, are you ready to go to Drake
- 33:10Speaker 4: May at that point as the true backup or do
- 33:12Speaker 4: you need Zapi to be that guy?
- 33:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 33:15Speaker 5: I like that makes a lot of sense. We've talked
- 33:17Speaker 5: about that a little bit in terms of what his
- 33:21Speaker 5: sort of market would be. I don't think it would
- 33:23Speaker 5: be huge, but like, can you make an argument for
- 33:26Speaker 5: a team like say the Raiders, you know what, we
- 33:30Speaker 5: can get him for a late round pick or a
- 33:32Speaker 5: conditional late round pick.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Is there any difference between him and Aidan O'Connell, right, I.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Mean, they hope, they do love Aidan o'con.
- 33:41Speaker 5: But like I'm just saying, like the Raiders really don't
- 33:43Speaker 5: have it. Like I think they went into this draft
- 33:46Speaker 5: right figuring that they would get somebody, and it ended
- 33:48Speaker 5: up they couldn't get any any of them.
- 33:50Speaker 4: You know, nothing didn't break their way. I I just
- 33:52Speaker 4: when I look at Bailey ZAPPI I still he's a
- 33:55Speaker 4: backup in the league. But he's in the league, you know.
- 33:58Speaker 4: I don't think that he's somebody that doesn't belong in
- 34:00Speaker 4: the league.
- 34:01Speaker 2: So that is a value.
- 34:03Speaker 4: That's a valuable asset for a lot of teams that
- 34:04Speaker 4: I think a lot some teams almost don't even put
- 34:07Speaker 4: enough value into it because of how much injuries we
- 34:10Speaker 4: see at the quarterback position every single year. And you're
- 34:12Speaker 4: down to Tommy DeVito at quarterback with the Giants, Like,
- 34:16Speaker 4: is there a big difference between Tommy DeVito and Bailey's Appy?
- 34:19Speaker 3: We got we got to see that showdown year.
- 34:21Speaker 2: It was it was, it was electric. I really love that.
- 34:26Speaker 2: At the Metal Lands, which is also just a dumpy
- 34:29Speaker 2: place to be in general, at the penitentiary. So you
- 34:32Speaker 2: guys are back looking at us. Now our team is meeting.
- 34:34Speaker 3: You got a little bit of a meeting going, fie.
- 34:37Speaker 4: They've done this a couple of times, very very brief.
- 34:40Speaker 2: One some words of advice. Let's try really hard. I
- 34:43Speaker 2: don't think Bill would have even cleared his throat by now,
- 34:46Speaker 2: So we'll do our best. Without doing actual play by
- 34:49Speaker 2: play to to kind of the highlights.
- 34:50Speaker 5: It does look like you're going to get a little uh,
- 34:53Speaker 5: you know, offense defense here. Anyways, some elevens coming out, Yeah, little.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Elevens and uh, you know some of the names out
- 35:00Speaker 2: they're the you know on defense. It just it shows
- 35:02Speaker 2: you kind of the veterans that they have. But again,
- 35:05Speaker 2: you know, it's Jonathan Jones continuing to kind of be managed,
- 35:08Speaker 2: and you're just seeing the opportunities out there for guys
- 35:11Speaker 2: like Alex Austin, Isaiah Bolden, even Josh blood Cell out
- 35:14Speaker 2: there right now getting getting some run alongside Pepper's and dugger.
- 35:18Speaker 2: You know kind of stuff we've seen in the past too,
- 35:20Speaker 2: where you know, guys get a chance to to work
- 35:23Speaker 2: with some of the top guys as they continue to
- 35:26Speaker 2: get a feel for everybody.
- 35:26Speaker 4: So it looks like David Andrews is not participating, probably
- 35:29Speaker 4: just a veteran type of thing, but it is on
- 35:32Speaker 4: Wnu and Wallace on the right side, and I think
- 35:34Speaker 4: that's Nick Leverett playing some center yeah as well with
- 35:37Speaker 4: this group instead of Andrews, but they're definitely I'm seeing
- 35:41Speaker 4: a lot of that pressure.
- 35:43Speaker 5: Yeah, pressure and a dropped by oh I looked like
- 35:45Speaker 5: maybe a jam finger by Jalen Riger eighty three.
- 35:49Speaker 2: That's Riger, right, yep, yep, Yeah, that ball's probably got
- 35:53Speaker 2: to be caught.
- 35:54Speaker 5: Yeah, but yeah, Evan's right, you get a lot of
- 35:57Speaker 5: these plays have very quick pressure.
- 36:01Speaker 4: It looks like Hunter Henry was coming across the formation
- 36:04Speaker 4: to pick up the backside on the play action pass
- 36:06Speaker 4: and just just got beat on it.
- 36:09Speaker 2: So at least it wasn't one of the linemen there was.
- 36:11Speaker 4: You know, you get the tight end blocking the edge rusher,
- 36:13Speaker 4: that's you know what you're doing there.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So yeah, Nick Levertt does seem like a piece that
- 36:18Speaker 2: could be pretty valuable for them this season.
- 36:22Speaker 4: Yeah, we haven't seen a ton of Jake Andrews either,
- 36:24Speaker 4: so a guy like Nick Levertt I think has a
- 36:26Speaker 4: real shot here to make this team.
- 36:30Speaker 5: And you guys already mentioned you know, the when U stuff,
- 36:32Speaker 5: So that's just you know, again worth worth continuing to monitor,
- 36:37Speaker 5: you know, and talking to Gerard. I know they Evan
- 36:40Speaker 5: mentioned this earlier, but I just want to repeat it
- 36:41Speaker 5: just so people know that we're not making any declarations,
- 36:45Speaker 5: you know. You know, Mayo has been very adamant. You know,
- 36:49Speaker 5: what you're going to see from day to day could change.
- 36:51Speaker 2: It's it's all all fluid.
- 36:53Speaker 5: We have no depth chart, so we're just telling you
- 36:55Speaker 5: who's doing what today. We're not making any uh, making
- 37:00Speaker 5: any grand, grandiose declarations about it. Another catch for Osborne.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Nice deep out to kJ Osborne. That was the first
- 37:07Speaker 4: we had pressure dropped and we had scrambled nobody open
- 37:12Speaker 4: and now we have one actual play which.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Looks like it may have been like a third and
- 37:15Speaker 3: long tight play.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Nice throw by Jacoby Brissett. That was right on the money,
- 37:19Speaker 4: I would say too.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Defensively, it seems like they're a little bit more passing
- 37:24Speaker 2: down front, you know, looking more with more on was
- 37:29Speaker 2: in there a little bit. Yeah, you had Jude On
- 37:32Speaker 2: and Bentley. You've got it in a lot of defensive backs,
- 37:35Speaker 2: six of them, I believe, and gotchaw not really Little
- 37:38Speaker 2: Dim actually been involved.
- 37:40Speaker 4: We've seen ze Bolden a lot in the slot back
- 37:42Speaker 4: in there right now. I think that's something. But ninety
- 37:46Speaker 4: nine just went right around for pressure on that one again,
- 37:50Speaker 4: so they gave him the catch just to move the
- 37:52Speaker 4: drill along. But the pressure here has been a big concern.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Really curious about key On White though. We I mean
- 37:57Speaker 2: we've talked about him. A bunch like him here.
- 38:01Speaker 5: Yeah, you know they're down and him and Barmore, you know,
- 38:04Speaker 5: is those interior kind of athletes. Yeah, that might be
- 38:07Speaker 5: able to get some some penetration. I you know, I'm
- 38:10Speaker 5: willing to give that one a shot. He would have
- 38:11Speaker 5: looks like at me too. I mean it just you know,
- 38:13Speaker 5: Mayo said it. I think it was last week, you know,
- 38:16Speaker 5: talking about him really being a player.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Who I mean even just listening to key On White
- 38:19Speaker 2: talk at the podium just you know, before he just
- 38:22Speaker 2: kind of stared down and scare the crap, Budy you.
- 38:24Speaker 2: But but he really seems like he's opening up a
- 38:26Speaker 2: little bit and he's really not happy with the umpire
- 38:30Speaker 2: very involved with At this.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Point, we're getting to the point of team drills where
- 38:35Speaker 4: Christian Barmour just can't play because he's in the backfield
- 38:38Speaker 4: on every single play and it just the play just
- 38:40Speaker 4: doesn't work because ninety is just flashing in front of somebody.
- 38:44Speaker 5: And I agree with you, I do think that's a
- 38:46Speaker 5: little silly though the way, like they can't really block you, right,
- 38:50Speaker 5: you know, and he's out there playing like it's week eight,
- 38:53Speaker 5: you know, against the Jets.
- 38:55Speaker 2: He just had his stuff.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:57Speaker 5: From the defender's point of view, I can run by you, right,
- 39:00Speaker 5: But from the offensive guy's point of view is I
- 39:01Speaker 5: really can't jam you.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Because I'm not allowed to, you know.
- 39:05Speaker 2: So we'll get some Jake May now, you know, not
- 39:07Speaker 2: a productive little I guess you could call it a drive.
- 39:11Speaker 3: They kind of ran out of time.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Yeah, we had one completetion.
- 39:14Speaker 5: We had pressure three times, probably would have been a sack.
- 39:17Speaker 5: How many plays was that overall?
- 39:18Speaker 4: One, three, four, five, and four of them I would
- 39:22Speaker 4: say had offensive line issues on them. So we're off
- 39:25Speaker 4: to a good start.
- 39:27Speaker 2: So we got paulk Rager Smith Schuster. I mean again
- 39:33Speaker 2: on the left side of the line, that's a Darian logan,
- 39:37Speaker 2: some reps there on the left side, and it's a
- 39:40Speaker 2: little dump off there for May's going, no huddle here.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a little two minute drill. They did
- 39:46Speaker 4: this at the end of practice the other day too,
- 39:48Speaker 4: so they've they've clearly confined practice today. Call on a
- 39:53Speaker 4: screen flat.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:55Speaker 4: They they do this at the end of practice the
- 39:57Speaker 4: other day on Monday, and I believe Jacoby Brissett they
- 40:01Speaker 4: did it. Six drives Koey Brissett was the only one
- 40:04Speaker 4: to drive them into scoring territory and it was a
- 40:06Speaker 4: field goal. They were one for six. Oh and Bailey's
- 40:08Speaker 4: appy threw a pick six to Kyle Duggar on the
- 40:10Speaker 4: very first drop back that he took.
- 40:12Speaker 3: That was like the one comment I saw in the practice.
- 40:14Speaker 5: I was telling Mike this yesterday, is they ran six
- 40:17Speaker 5: or seven two minute drills at the end of the
- 40:19Speaker 5: practice and the defense out scored the offense six to three. Yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 5: that's a fair assessments, which I felt like I hadn't
- 40:25Speaker 5: missed a thing. That's the way I left it last year. Yep,
- 40:31Speaker 5: so May going again.
- 40:32Speaker 2: So Michael Hasty, who's been in the backfield, another guy
- 40:34Speaker 2: who probably wanted to keep an eye on this summer
- 40:37Speaker 2: with limited running back depth. Yep, seems like he's uh
- 40:40Speaker 2: he's been in the mix, his made some plays. That's
- 40:42Speaker 2: a short throw there.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it got caught in between there. He had to
- 40:47Speaker 4: deep the deep out and then he had the tight
- 40:49Speaker 4: end filling it underneath. Probably should have just thrown that
- 40:52Speaker 4: to the tight end and kind of got caught in between.
- 40:55Speaker 5: What I didn't like, And I'm not making a lot
- 40:56Speaker 5: out of this again, Evans point about the pressure is
- 41:00Speaker 5: pretty much have it in every play. I just didn't
- 41:03Speaker 5: like the way it kind of wasn't a lot of
- 41:05Speaker 5: conviction in the throat. It was like, you know, I
- 41:07Speaker 5: think I might should put the pad over there. Yeah,
- 41:09Speaker 5: you know, almost seems like they re huddled and just
- 41:12Speaker 5: to do an here.
- 41:13Speaker 4: It's just frustrating. I feel like for the offense where
- 41:17Speaker 4: this pressure is just kind of cratering the entire drill
- 41:21Speaker 4: at sometimes in eleven on eleven's and I mean it's
- 41:24Speaker 4: just every every time he drops back, he gets pressured
- 41:26Speaker 4: off the edge there, throws away and he's been intercepted.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I mean, let's be forty two. It's easy hearn with
- 41:36Speaker 2: the pick and you know, we've definitely seen some interceptions
- 41:39Speaker 2: here from but.
- 41:40Speaker 7: That was four plays, I think, so that was one
- 41:43Speaker 7: two three four, I had screen screen short arm, I
- 41:48Speaker 7: have pressure screen pressure, pressure pick.
- 41:54Speaker 4: So it's just when we see them in seven on seven,
- 41:57Speaker 4: you see a little bit more from the offense in
- 41:59Speaker 4: those drill and I'm willing to wait until we get
- 42:02Speaker 4: the pads on to the offensive line can hold.
- 42:04Speaker 5: It if the pressure is like this, you know, come
- 42:07Speaker 5: the last week of July, and then I think it's
- 42:09Speaker 5: time to sort of wonder, all right, what have we
- 42:12Speaker 5: really done to get the offensive line situation improved.
- 42:16Speaker 2: I just think it's a.
- 42:17Speaker 5: Really difficult task for these guys out here. And I
- 42:19Speaker 5: know it probably sounds like I'm making excuses, but I'm
- 42:22Speaker 5: really not. I just think it's really hard when you're
- 42:25Speaker 5: going out of your way to not make contact to
- 42:28Speaker 5: hold these guys up. Yeah, I just you know what
- 42:30Speaker 5: I'm struggling with right now.
- 42:31Speaker 2: It's just, you know, we last what we've seen new
- 42:33Speaker 2: offensive coordinators the last two years, and the offenses look
- 42:38Speaker 2: pretty rough, you know, Mac Jones. I mean we you know,
- 42:40Speaker 2: we know what it looked like, and but it's like
- 42:43Speaker 2: such it's like baking a cake. There's so many ingredients
- 42:45Speaker 2: that go into it, and you, I mean you mentioned
- 42:47Speaker 2: some Paul we know. You know, look, it seems like
- 42:49Speaker 2: Alex van Pelt, his coaching staff, they know what they
- 42:51Speaker 2: want to do and they have a plan, which to
- 42:54Speaker 2: me just gives me a little bit more confidence than
- 42:56Speaker 2: what we had two years ago. Oh last, no question,
- 42:59Speaker 2: last you selk Hey, we got Bill O'Brien. It should
- 43:02Speaker 2: be better. It wasn't better. Of course, the talent is
- 43:05Speaker 2: part of it. So it's hard to look at what's
- 43:07Speaker 2: going on out here and say.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Who had against Ony?
- 43:11Speaker 4: But I think I saw it too. I didn't see
- 43:14Speaker 4: if it was forty two maybe who I just had
- 43:16Speaker 4: the last pick.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard to describe how it looks clunky here
- 43:20Speaker 2: without trying to sound the alarm that it looked like
- 43:23Speaker 2: two years ago. And but you know, at the same time,
- 43:25Speaker 2: like you got to help it. I'll help you a
- 43:27Speaker 2: little bit too, you know.
- 43:28Speaker 5: So we know from talking to Alex van Pelton, from
- 43:31Speaker 5: listening to Gid Mayo talk about what Alex van Pelt
- 43:33Speaker 5: wants to do, what are some of the key elements
- 43:36Speaker 5: that you really can't do yet.
- 43:37Speaker 3: You know, they want to run them, they want to
- 43:39Speaker 3: run the ball.
- 43:39Speaker 5: They want to be physical upfront, they want to try
- 43:42Speaker 5: to play off of their success in the ground game,
- 43:45Speaker 5: and you can't do any of that in this kind
- 43:48Speaker 5: of a seting. Yeah, so you know again, so it's fair,
- 43:51Speaker 5: but like, and believe me, I'm not one of these guys.
- 43:53Speaker 5: If we come out here and it's it's July twenty whatever,
- 43:57Speaker 5: it is the first day of camp twenty six, twenty seven,
- 43:59Speaker 5: somewhere in that hborhood, right, if we go twenty six,
- 44:02Speaker 5: twenty seven, twenty eight August first and with having the
- 44:05Speaker 5: same conversations, I'm not going to tell you it's don't
- 44:08Speaker 5: worry about it.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I won't. But even still, Paul, it's you know, we
- 44:11Speaker 2: always talk about you can't ever get a true real
- 44:13Speaker 2: sense of the running game in practice either. So you know,
- 44:15Speaker 2: it's like, no matter what we see on these practice fields,
- 44:18Speaker 2: there's always going to be a small part of me
- 44:19Speaker 2: that's like, well, I need to see it in a game.
- 44:22Speaker 2: But I just I want to be fair to this team.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Those last two years, it was a disaster. The offenses
- 44:27Speaker 2: were I mean last year just absolutely cratered out, and
- 44:31Speaker 2: some of the issues have carried over, Like you talk
- 44:33Speaker 2: about the protection issues. I mean, that's one day. So
- 44:37Speaker 2: it's it's just it's hard I want to be fair
- 44:38Speaker 2: to this team. I want to get them time to develop.
- 44:40Speaker 3: We will, and we will.
- 44:42Speaker 5: But the explosiveness issue gap, the lack of explosiveness, I
- 44:46Speaker 5: think is real.
- 44:47Speaker 4: It's you know, it's very clear to me that if
- 44:50Speaker 4: you go up against a good defense like the Patriots
- 44:52Speaker 4: have that their lack of playmaking at the pass catcher spots,
- 44:57Speaker 4: they're not going to win individual matchups. So to Paul's point,
- 45:01Speaker 4: they're gonna have to have Alex van Pelt scheme it up.
- 45:03Speaker 4: It's gonna have to be misdirection, it's gonna have to
- 45:05Speaker 4: be play action. There's gonna have to be a lot
- 45:07Speaker 4: of smoke and mirrors on early downs, especially off of
- 45:10Speaker 4: the run game, that are able to scheme open guys
- 45:13Speaker 4: or give guys opportunities where they have advantageous leverage, or
- 45:16Speaker 4: you know, spacing out in the passing game.
- 45:19Speaker 2: And I just worry a lot if it's.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Jacoby Brissett, who can't really extend plays, who isn't a magician,
- 45:26Speaker 4: you know, in those off script moments and things like that,
- 45:29Speaker 4: how it's really gonna look. Because it's gonna have to
- 45:31Speaker 4: be on time, it's gonna have to be in structure.
- 45:33Speaker 4: With him, and you know, that's the one thing that
- 45:36Speaker 4: Drake obviously offers that we haven't seen the last couple
- 45:39Speaker 4: of years, is that ability to go out and extend
- 45:41Speaker 4: the play and make things happen with your legs.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Well, it's a Paul's point of when we were talking
- 45:45Speaker 2: a little bit about Michael Bishop. It's you know, not
- 45:47Speaker 2: the same level, but it's easy to see the offense
- 45:51Speaker 2: has been kind of stagnant and Drake mate comes in
- 45:54Speaker 2: and the pressure you know, is all over him. He
- 45:56Speaker 2: gets away and he's you know, makes a couple of plays.
- 45:58Speaker 2: It's kind of easy to see that happening for Drake May. Yew,
- 46:01Speaker 2: that's what you got a hold line.
- 46:02Speaker 5: That's what you gotta hope Mike, if the issues with
- 46:04Speaker 5: the protection persist, that maybe maybe he could do a
- 46:08Speaker 5: little bit more with them. So we're back on seven
- 46:10Speaker 5: on seventh yeast. Here, what are defensive guys getting their
- 46:13Speaker 5: hands on passes?
- 46:14Speaker 2: Nearly another Drake May interception on that one. He did
- 46:16Speaker 2: complete his first pass bleach just to the tight end,
- 46:19Speaker 2: kind of going out to the flat, but.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Two reps nearly picked there.
- 46:24Speaker 5: So if you think about like going back to that,
- 46:26Speaker 5: that explosives stuff that we're talking about. Think about some
- 46:28Speaker 5: of the plays, some of the best plays that you
- 46:30Speaker 5: can remember over the last couple of years. And it's not,
- 46:33Speaker 5: you know, it's not a huge dossier of explosive plays,
- 46:36Speaker 5: but like it's like the play in the Metal Lands
- 46:39Speaker 5: against the Jets early last season, the long touchdowns to
- 46:41Speaker 5: the tight end Brown Paro Brown right, totally schemed out right,
- 46:45Speaker 5: totally schemed out. The plays in the Monday night game
- 46:47Speaker 5: when Zappi came in. You know that you have Jacoby
- 46:50Speaker 5: Meyers all alone. You know where Evan almost lost his
- 46:53Speaker 5: mind with the.
- 46:54Speaker 2: With the leak, right, So we'll see a lot of
- 46:57Speaker 2: leak now.
- 46:58Speaker 5: So these are things that all of a sudden, you know,
- 47:01Speaker 5: you get you get plays that are schemed up. But
- 47:04Speaker 5: then you start to think, now, give me some examples
- 47:07Speaker 5: of plays that where guys won one on one battles.
- 47:10Speaker 3: And there were some of those too, but again a
- 47:12Speaker 3: very small amount.
- 47:13Speaker 5: It was like Douglas Well, it was like the Pittsburgh
- 47:16Speaker 5: game last year with Juju Smith Schuster. All of it
- 47:18Speaker 5: was Pittsburgh right right where he goes up, he goes
- 47:21Speaker 5: up and makes that play like you know, he was
- 47:23Speaker 5: well covered. He goes up and just wins a fifty
- 47:25Speaker 5: to fifty ball. And you know, we saw Parker do
- 47:28Speaker 5: that a couple of times. Evan's right. You saw to
- 47:31Speaker 5: Mario Douglas win some one on one battles. But they
- 47:33Speaker 5: are few and far between, so they're gonna have to
- 47:36Speaker 5: figure something out. The coverage has definitely been really tight,
- 47:39Speaker 5: even in the seven on seven's here Yeaven against backups, Right.
- 47:46Speaker 4: It's just it comes back to the same things when
- 47:50Speaker 4: you look at you don't have the weapons on the outside.
- 47:54Speaker 4: So it's either gonna have to come from the scheme
- 47:57Speaker 4: or it's gonna have to come from the quarterback. Like
- 47:58Speaker 4: those are the two sources that it's going to have
- 48:00Speaker 4: to come from for this team. And the scheme I
- 48:04Speaker 4: we'll see, we'll see if Alex van Feldt has the
- 48:06Speaker 4: chops to make it happen. The quarterback, it's there's only
- 48:09Speaker 4: one quarterback on the roster that's going to add anything
- 48:11Speaker 4: that's gonna be bonus, and they don't know if they
- 48:14Speaker 4: want to start him right away. So it's going to
- 48:16Speaker 4: be like this, I think, and for a while with
- 48:19Speaker 4: this team unless they find somebody in the receiver market
- 48:22Speaker 4: I suppose, But I think I think we're all in
- 48:24Speaker 4: the thought process that that's not going to happen, you know,
- 48:27Speaker 4: this year. That's probably a next offseason type of situation.
- 48:31Speaker 5: And if you know, I know, you guys heard from
- 48:34Speaker 5: ramondre Stevenson on Monday, and he talked about I think
- 48:38Speaker 5: he even came out and said that he felt like
- 48:40Speaker 5: they were pretty close on an extension. I mean, I
- 48:43Speaker 5: don't think I'm breaking any you know, state secrets here.
- 48:46Speaker 5: He's a fatally important guy to this offense, and you
- 48:49Speaker 5: want to see if you can scheme it up and
- 48:51Speaker 5: do all the things that ever just talked about. He's
- 48:53Speaker 5: going to have to have a bounce back year. Yeah,
- 48:55Speaker 5: you know last year he was I mean, I know
- 48:57Speaker 5: everybody says, well he was injured last year. Well he
- 48:58Speaker 5: got injured in December last year. Prior to that, he
- 49:01Speaker 5: wasn't anywhere near as effective as he had been the
- 49:03Speaker 5: year before when he averaged five yards to carry in
- 49:06Speaker 5: that over on thousand yards. So he also cut sixty
- 49:09Speaker 5: whatever passes, you know, two years ago. So I think
- 49:13Speaker 5: they need something more resembling that, Like he needs to
- 49:17Speaker 5: be the Nick Chubb. Yeah, he needs to be the
- 49:20Speaker 5: Nick Chubb for Alex.
- 49:21Speaker 4: He's mentioned he's he's been watching a lot of Nick
- 49:24Speaker 4: Chubb tape this offseason to try to see where his
- 49:26Speaker 4: holes and where his opportunities are going to come in
- 49:29Speaker 4: this scheme in the running game. So that's definitely there.
- 49:32Speaker 4: I love Rmandra Stevenson, I've loved covering him. Giving him
- 49:37Speaker 4: a contract extension scares the crowd.
- 49:39Speaker 2: That's a different argument. You and I lock step on that,
- 49:41Speaker 2: But I'm trying to scare the craft. If it's two years, yeah,
- 49:45Speaker 2: twelve million dollars, fine, then fine, But anything more than
- 49:49Speaker 2: that it's gonna be there's a busted cover. There was
- 49:52Speaker 2: one that finally came open, and Bailey's Deppie finding Jimi
- 49:55Speaker 2: bel and Bell and Hey Patriots fans, if you want
- 49:58Speaker 2: to see Toyota's best offers, including those not seen on TV,
- 50:01Speaker 2: go to buy at toyota dot com. It's Toyota's official
- 50:04Speaker 2: website for deals from the official vehicle of the New
- 50:07Speaker 2: England Patriots, Toyota. Let's go to Tom Brady Knight Tonight excited.
- 50:11Speaker 3: So it was well done.
- 50:12Speaker 2: I was not well.
- 50:13Speaker 5: I mean, I gotta give even the delivery needs work,
- 50:15Speaker 5: but the the substance was good.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Well, did you know, Paul Easy to Drink, Easy to
- 50:21Speaker 2: Enjoy bud Light, the official beer sponsor of the New
- 50:23Speaker 2: England Patriots. Hopefully we'll drinking some of those tonight after
- 50:26Speaker 2: Tom Brady Knight trying to find a place to watch
- 50:28Speaker 2: some Celtics maybe, uh yeah, yeah, it's definitely.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Been on ZAPPI.
- 50:36Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie, dog, that's been on my mind
- 50:39Speaker 5: a little bit, trying trying to figure that out.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Where are you going, Well, we'll talk off there, Okay.
- 50:45Speaker 4: We we were driving around yesterday doing some some errands
- 50:48Speaker 4: and I was very quiet in the car and just
- 50:51Speaker 4: looks at me and she's like, poor zingis And I
- 50:54Speaker 4: was like, what is what tendon tennis.
- 50:58Speaker 2: She's like, she's like, well, maybe he'll almost lost my
- 51:01Speaker 2: diet PEPSI with that.
- 51:04Speaker 4: She was like, maybe he'll play, And I was like,
- 51:06Speaker 4: it's it's not sounding good.
- 51:07Speaker 2: This is sounding good.
- 51:09Speaker 5: I don't I mean, they might need him like tonight,
- 51:11Speaker 5: Like if he doesn't play tonight, I think they could
- 51:13Speaker 5: lose tonight.
- 51:14Speaker 3: But I don't think. I don't really think there's a
- 51:15Speaker 3: chance they could lose the series.
- 51:16Speaker 4: I don't doing the open field tackling, not tackling. They're
- 51:21Speaker 4: not tackling leverage.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Open field, running near each other to two hand touch.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Right now, this drill seems like a nightmare defenders trying.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I would have done everything in my power to avoid
- 51:32Speaker 3: this drill if I had to do it.
- 51:33Speaker 2: When I was in we had that kind of similar
- 51:36Speaker 2: hockey drill where the defense would be at center ice
- 51:38Speaker 2: at the red line. I would hate that. And and
- 51:41Speaker 2: the forwardod have the park like parallel with you at
- 51:44Speaker 2: the red line, and you'd have to start backwards and
- 51:46Speaker 2: you'd have to get depth, and I mean, I just
- 51:48Speaker 2: got to burn every single freaking time on that thing.
- 51:50Speaker 2: But you're like Pearl, like, what about the power? Okay,
- 51:54Speaker 2: what are we doing? Pp? Two?
- 51:58Speaker 3: Pp Two?
- 51:59Speaker 2: I wasn't getting out. They're over pat Riss Miller, who
- 52:01Speaker 2: went on to the NHL. Oh okay, unfortunately. But yeah,
- 52:07Speaker 2: So a little little break here in between team periods
- 52:09Speaker 2: is we're expecting them to go about another half hour.
- 52:11Speaker 2: So Evan who else was supposed to speak besides Javon Baker?
- 52:15Speaker 2: Were there any other.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Drake may we'll talk.
- 52:20Speaker 3: So some of the Brooks, the quarterbacks talking a lot. No, yeah,
- 52:24Speaker 3: didn't talk.
- 52:25Speaker 2: The other day.
- 52:25Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so I think, well, we had them last week.
- 52:29Speaker 4: So there is a rule that during mini camp the
- 52:32Speaker 4: quarterbacks half the talk.
- 52:34Speaker 5: There's see now what they would have done in the past, Well,
- 52:37Speaker 5: it wouldn't have necessarily been because you know, like when
- 52:39Speaker 5: Brady was here, he would have said, now i'll talk
- 52:41Speaker 5: in mini camp, I have to talk, then I'll talk
- 52:43Speaker 5: to men. Yeah, there's no way you'd have gotten him twice.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Now with Brady Knight tonight, I don't think what Drake
- 52:50Speaker 4: May says is the podium is going to be the
- 52:52Speaker 4: top headline news. Same with Javon Baker. So if you
- 52:55Speaker 4: want to throw a guy like Javon Baker might not
- 52:58Speaker 4: be a bad idea to do it.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Camp news stump.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Sorry, don't want to out our PR staff or anything, but.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Well you can bet Drake Mail has some good stuff
- 53:08Speaker 2: to say. And whether you're in the game or betting

- 53:40Speaker 3: Mike, I don't know how you do those. I took
- 53:42Speaker 3: a book out of page, out of press. I don't
- 53:45Speaker 3: know how you do.
- 53:46Speaker 2: You gotta say like bet on something or gambling. So alright,
- 53:48Speaker 2: we're done with the angling drills and uh okay, and
- 53:50Speaker 2: now we're coming down to the goal line. Looks like
- 53:52Speaker 2: we're in some kicking and I was going to bring
- 53:54Speaker 2: this up, perfect time to bring it up, but chat
- 53:56Speaker 2: Ryland did this a couple of field goals while Joey's
- 54:00Speaker 2: sly guy was four. So guys, do we have a
- 54:04Speaker 2: budding quarter? Uh? I think I think it's going to
- 54:07Speaker 2: be a kicking kick competition.
- 54:08Speaker 4: I also seems like I also wonder if the kicker
- 54:10Speaker 4: is even on the team yet, because the kicker is
- 54:13Speaker 4: an issue.
- 54:13Speaker 3: He might be in the the what the UF Yeah,
- 54:16Speaker 3: the UFL right now.
- 54:17Speaker 4: So unfortunately, Jake Babs got hurt in his playoff honey
- 54:22Speaker 4: with the Michigan Panthers, so he injured himself. He rolled
- 54:25Speaker 4: his ankle on a kick attempt that he missed, So
- 54:28Speaker 4: he's injured at the moment, so we'll see how that
- 54:31Speaker 4: shares out with tryouts and things like that coming up.
- 54:33Speaker 5: I was doing some research on him because someone was
- 54:36Speaker 5: asking about him in the last mail bag.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Do you know he didn't attempt to kick in college?
- 54:41Speaker 2: I did not know.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Did he play?
- 54:43Speaker 2: He was a kickoff, he was a kickoff specialist.
- 54:45Speaker 4: Well he can kick, he can make from sixty five, right,
- 54:48Speaker 4: that makes But my guess is he's not very consistent. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:52Speaker 4: the kicker, and I was at two schools by the way.
- 54:54Speaker 4: He started at Texas State and then ended up at Arkansas.
- 54:57Speaker 4: The kicker is an issue and sly is more accurate,
- 55:01Speaker 4: but it reminds me a little of Nick Folk, where
- 55:04Speaker 4: like his range is probably going to be inside fifty
- 55:07Speaker 4: and you're not as sales. Yeah, maybe he's a guy
- 55:09Speaker 4: that can be really consistent from forty five and in,
- 55:12Speaker 4: But if you need a fifty three yard game winner
- 55:15Speaker 4: in a in a Foxborough winter day, I'm not sure
- 55:19Speaker 4: he's necessarily going to be your guy.
- 55:21Speaker 2: So it looks like we've got a second good field
- 55:23Speaker 2: goal from Chad Ryland. I think this one was about
- 55:26Speaker 2: about forty two yards and Sly and him At both
- 55:29Speaker 2: were good on their first kicks.
- 55:31Speaker 5: If I know you said that, Mayo said, the practice
- 55:33Speaker 5: is going to be shorter, like you get did you
- 55:35Speaker 5: get the impression, like shorter than the hour and a
- 55:37Speaker 5: half that they were sort of penciling in because this
- 55:40Speaker 5: kind of has the earmarks though.
- 55:42Speaker 2: We're done, they're not that far away from.
- 55:43Speaker 4: Being It definitely felt we the schedule said nude for
- 55:48Speaker 4: player availability, but you factor in maybe some conditioning.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, no, I think this is close to
- 55:54Speaker 3: being done.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Yeah I do.
- 55:55Speaker 4: We might see, you know, some a two minute period
- 55:59Speaker 4: where the quarterbacks came one more chance to redeem themselves
- 56:02Speaker 4: after that really ugly start of practice. But that's what
- 56:05Speaker 4: they did yesterday. They did it some team, then they
- 56:10Speaker 4: went into the kicking, and then they reset and did
- 56:12Speaker 4: it the whole circuit all over again. So maybe that
- 56:15Speaker 4: they'll do that again here today.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Well, it is a beautiful day and guys, you know,
- 56:20Speaker 2: summer is here, which means it's time to turn off
- 56:23Speaker 2: that alarm and sleep ins unless you're a dad, because
- 56:25Speaker 2: we got to get early thanks to Bob's discount furniture

- 56:42Speaker 2: the official furniture store of the New England Patriots. That
- 56:45Speaker 2: sounds nice.
- 56:45Speaker 3: You gotta you can plug right in. Always gotta be
- 56:48Speaker 3: able to do that.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Here we go, Joey SLID's up and it is good
- 56:53Speaker 2: as nice to have those he made all three. It
- 56:56Speaker 2: is nice to have the rest because sometimes it can
- 56:57Speaker 2: be difficult. Although we're at a pretty good.
- 57:00Speaker 5: Angle for the particular uprights that they're aiming to it today,
- 57:03Speaker 5: that is true. But sometimes when you're down, like on
- 57:06Speaker 5: the field, you look in you're like, did that go?
- 57:08Speaker 2: I know? That goes around?
- 57:10Speaker 3: Usually look for the little between the holder and the kicker.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Usually got a little, you know, a little dap up
- 57:16Speaker 2: afterwards if you made it.
- 57:18Speaker 4: I would like to see one more Team Peerless and
- 57:21Speaker 4: the spring looks like that with a Drake May interception
- 57:24Speaker 4: and nobody opened in seven on seven, So this.
- 57:27Speaker 2: One looks like it's pushed out. Is that right on
- 57:30Speaker 2: right on wide right and no dap up from the holder.
- 57:33Speaker 2: So that means especially now that one was a shank. Yeah,
- 57:37Speaker 2: that one was, but that was also like he's out
- 57:39Speaker 2: there pretty good. Now it's like.
- 57:42Speaker 4: We're at the thirty thirty thirty five, so we're at
- 57:47Speaker 4: what like yeah, fifty two.
- 57:48Speaker 3: Three two, Yeah, that's out there.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Joey slide.
- 57:55Speaker 4: This is we'll see what sli guy can do the
- 57:57Speaker 4: time out that was guy missed it too. Yeah that
- 58:01Speaker 4: one got blown dead. But yeah, I mean this is
- 58:03Speaker 4: where I'm interested to see slide because I think you
- 58:05Speaker 4: can really make a push against Ryland if he can
- 58:08Speaker 4: make some of these plus forty eight kicks in practicing
- 58:11Speaker 4: in the preseason. But he's definitely more accurate at so
- 58:14Speaker 4: far from what we've seen, which is limited in the
- 58:17Speaker 4: in the closer range.
- 58:19Speaker 2: So he's got I like, snap down the time, good
- 58:28Speaker 2: snap all kick us there to go.
- 58:32Speaker 4: It's good. Joey Slide hits it, some some high fives
- 58:36Speaker 4: for the protection unit.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Look good, and I think you're going to get your wish. Yeah,
- 58:44Speaker 2: that's what they've been doing.
- 58:44Speaker 4: It's like a circuit right where they'll one quarterback will
- 58:47Speaker 4: lead a drive. Then they go down the other end
- 58:50Speaker 4: and they kick field goals like it's at the end
- 58:52Speaker 4: the game situation. And then they put the next quarterback
- 58:55Speaker 4: in and they go back. So it doesn't look like
- 58:57Speaker 4: it's going to be Drake may though, looks like a Jacob.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Rig Sackerby going back in there. We're going, we're coming
- 59:04Speaker 2: towards us, we're going away, were going full field, We're
- 59:06Speaker 2: going to this. I think they're going to go away
- 59:08Speaker 2: from us.
- 59:09Speaker 4: So it looks like David Andrews is going to participate
- 59:12Speaker 4: in this one.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Well that's nice as David. I like. I like David.
- 59:17Speaker 2: It's here to work. Way to work, boys. So yeah,
- 59:23Speaker 2: you guys mentioned Stevenson though, I just I think he
- 59:25Speaker 2: looks like he's right back in the mix of I mean,
- 59:27Speaker 2: there were times last couple of years where it's like, man,
- 59:29Speaker 2: he is everything. They got it. We felt like every
- 59:32Speaker 2: every successful play was going to him. Oh all right,
- 59:38Speaker 2: so that's Osborne, Osborne and Riger on the outside. It's
- 59:46Speaker 2: gonna be a zone left. He's gone.
- 59:49Speaker 4: That was well blocked.
- 59:50Speaker 2: That's how you do it. Two minutes tri right, just
- 59:53Speaker 2: just an eighty r touchdown.
- 59:54Speaker 4: That was one of the best blocked plays. I've seen
- 59:56Speaker 4: them have all spring, and that was a legit crease.
- 59:59Speaker 4: That was not you know, a trading camps, no no
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: pads type of crease.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: That was a.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: You got some push it or is this good nature?
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: That's jeah a.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Little bit.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: With who Andrews because they probably blocked them. That's the
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: they haven't been blocked though.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: That's the look that I think they're gonna really thrive on.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: With Remandre though, asking him to bounce out the outside
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: is I don't think his game. But you cut it
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: up in the middle of there like he just did
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: on that one. That's that's gonna be the sweet spot
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: for this offense.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so other guys, you know, on defense is getting
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: some looks here with Jalen Hawkins at safety and Marco Wilson.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Out of corner.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: See if they moved the pocket now.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Now we're doing the boot off of it. It's almost like, yeah, screen, Daniel,
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: it's almost like you've seen some of this. It's almost
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: like I spend way too much time watching the Browns.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Although no, no, you like that's on questions and you
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: spend way too much time watching that period so that they.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Like to run that screen off of it too. Sometimes
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: they'll actually leak the tight end out too and run
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: the screen to the tight end, which I'm waiting for
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: them to hitch a keem bell on one of those
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: and let him run with it, because no offense to
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Austin Hooper and Hunter Henry, but I don't think that's
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: going to be their Their way to make a lot
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: of yards is a tight end screen. So those are
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: the things you see though, And unfortunately that one got
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: blown up, so now we're in third down.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Yeah, just highlight too, I mean Chila Hawkins again, you know,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: free safety, and it'd just be great to be able
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: to get Duggar and Pepper's more involved near the line
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: of scrimmage and not have to you know, play them
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: on the back end as much.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: And seeing a little bit here at Yeah, timing, timing
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: was off on that one.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Yeah, looked like he had two inbreaking routes on the
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: right hand side. He pumped it to the first one
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: to get the safety to jump it and then wanted
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: to throw the one on one. kJ Osborne didn't win
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: their out, so that's where we're at.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't get away. He didn't throw it because
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: he didn't like it. There's no question about that.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: Now the lamp post, right, let's see, this is what
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: it's all about, right, I mean, the throw isn't there.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: But once they start to sequence these things together, that's
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: when it becomes harder to defend. For the offense. They
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: got to get him out of the pocket a little
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: bit more. He's he's still in the middle of the
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: pocket on these bootlegs, and I'd like to see him
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: a little bit more out of there to get the
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: pressure out of the way. But in general, like that's
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: that's the sequencing of the offense that we're talking about
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: that we're hoping is going to stick. It's inside zone,
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: outside zone, blue leg off of it, and now all
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: of a sudden, everybody's moving around defensively and you're not
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: in the spots to defend those passes.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Yeah, we got definitely some defensive rotation going in, a
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: lot of linebackers coming in. Yeah.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: Now that one was not blocked as effectively as the
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: other run play. This one was out of shotgun, inside hand,
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: inside zone. Yeah, this is you know, I thought it
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: was going to be a little bit more hurry up
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: and had has not been. Now, just like as Evan said,
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: you know, more sequential plays that you're getting to see
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: a little bit of.
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: Yeah, some early down stuff for sure. I just feel
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: like this, this is really the sticking point for this
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: offense is, you know, can they show some successful run
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: plays early in drives that will allow them to then
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: get those single high safety looks. You run the bootlegs,
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: you run the deep crossing routes, and you get these
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: guys into some foot races down the field at receiver
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: where they're not asked to just beaten man coverage one
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: on one on third down, because that if that's the case,
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: if that's how they're going to live, then this is
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: going to be a long year.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: Like they're not going to be able to do it now.
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: On that one, the protection held up and he had
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: a nice pocket and stepped up in the pocket nicely,
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: but really didn't have anything that.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: It's happened a couple of times with all It's it's
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: you know, if the pressure is not destroying it and
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: he's got a pocket, it's it's hard seeing guys that
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: they are busting free. All right, looks like you're gonna
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: have of Jake may time. How about Kobe's walking away.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: The red zone or something scoring territory, just to see
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: if they can get it.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: I mean, guys, is it too Is it too simplistic
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: to say that if We'remonder Stevenson had a great year,
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: it would mean really good things for the Patriots offense. Well,
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I got trickled down.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: I think he's gonna for them to have much success offensively.
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: I think he's gonna have to be a big part
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: of it. Yeah, I would say that now. I I
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: think you could be like two years ago when he
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: had a great year offensively and they still didn't have
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: a very productive offense. But I think that they're almost
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: doomed to failure without a consistent threat in the running game.
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: I think Evan talked about the sequence, and I think
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: it all stems off of that.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: I would have liked to have seen him stay on
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: the left side of the field there. Yeah, it just
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: I also wouldn't rule it rollouts the wrong word. I
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: wouldn't sleep on Antonio Gibson's role in all of this,
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: also because he's got some real explosiveness and speed that
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Remondra Stevenson is a little bit of a different style
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: of runner that I think will really fit what they're
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: trying to do offensively. So the good news is is
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: that for the Patriots it might be more of a
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: real platoon with those two guys. I know the fantasy
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: football people are going to cringe up that because they
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: all want to draft for Mare, But I feel like
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: Antonio Gibson fits really well in his own system because
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: he's got that speed to take off when he sees
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: those opportunities.
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: Just to highlight too, now, that's probably the best looking
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: play of the day right there for a touchdown Jalen Polk.
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: That's where I really feel like Jalen Polk is going
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: to be able to make an impact is when it
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: does get condensed. You know, he's not going to run
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: away from anybody, but in those tight areas like we
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: saw with Jacobe Meyer so often, third down, red zone,
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: just having that ability to make those catches and with
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: some guys draped on you, that was a nice rattle
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: little stick on Yeah.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: And it's good good throw too. You know it's on time.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Put it right on him yet because he wasn't wide open,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: he had a he had to stick it in there.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: As they say, uh, just to highlight Kitten Wallace getting
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: some left tackle reps.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: Right now, Darian lowet, some some backup linemen and here
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: now Jude just yeah above, but that's a sack, Darian Loan,
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: Matthew is not.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: That's not a fair.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: That booty who ended up catching it was Yeah, I
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: agree with you.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: Yeah it was a sack. So I wrote sack eighty
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: touchdown so someone later can read my notes and say,
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: who you write code polls unless you're someone would have
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: come across this valuable note. Every once in a while
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: I look back and I'm like, what the hell do
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: I mean that to be when I wrote all that? Yeah,
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: that's why I've h I try to during training camp
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: write just a few quick things about what happened, who
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: stood out, and it's just they all get so yeah,
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: but munched together. But you don't have to write like observations.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: All right, we got Drake May going in now, uh
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: about midfield. Yeah, it looks like he's about midfield coming.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: So yeah, let's say mostly backup offensive Linevenarian low back
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: and left tackle Calvin Anderson. Right, we got Raager and
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Douglas Osborne, Kevin Harrison. The backfield, Michael Petaway, who had
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: some a couple of nice catches last the last practice.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Alert Alert.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: These periods are where not having a Javon Baker to
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: be out there really kills you as you get to
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: these to the depth of this uh of this receiver group,
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: and there's just not a whole lot for for Drake
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: May and Jacob Weresett to work.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: With defense, continuing to kind of liberally rotate with starters, backups,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: you name it.
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: Just see now they went to the gun. I was
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: kind of hoping that they were gonna stay under center. Yeah,
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: we ran a play action pass off of that.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Look, same personnel for the offense. Mate holds down, rolls out.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: Yeah, who wanted to get that out before he ended
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: up throwing.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: He's looking for a flag. It knows it's Tom Brady Knight.
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: So he's doing it so well and arguing with the officials.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Osborne struggling to get away. That's all right. We're
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: moving down now into the into the red zone, just
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: like they did with set. We'll get some close up
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: look here, looks think about another I guess twenty minutes
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: or so left.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: It's Hill training camp.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Guys. Wow, what an off season. It's just been just
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: a whirlwind. Might have a whirlwind exactly.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: See this is this is why you don't come out
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: here based off of Monday's practice and start overreacting because
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: this one is well, now.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: You gotta go, well it was terrible.
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: Now, I guess you're gonna get a lot of overreactions
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: to this one too.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: It's just gonna be the other way.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: And which in like, in all honesty, like a little
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: bit of a drop off for me in terms of
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: may but not like that was great and this is terrible,
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Like it's all kind of part of the same product that.
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: One, that one play that I mentioned. I didn't like
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: the indecisiveness, but yeah, you know, I just think it
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: is what it is. My shit job by Booty holding
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: onto that one in the throne to.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Him a lot.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: Nick Leverrett getting excited there so slam now it's nice.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: I mean, they're just you know, he can spin it,
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: you can tell make can throw the ball.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: It's just those tight window throws that he just made.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: I mean, if it was live live Alex Austin might
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: might have.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: It was a good throw regardless. But you know, even
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: you even.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: See it with the underneath stuff though, is my point
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: is like these little tight windows that that little extra
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: zip on the ball can make such a big difference
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: for the receiver.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Oh nice catch. My booty was a contested catch and
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: they give him the touchdown, so it was a good throw.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: I mean, this is you know, solid little ending here
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: for for me if this is it.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Yeah, And those are two that Evan just talked about
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: it like he can dial it up a little bit
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: more than with the guys that we've been used to seeing.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I just see two.
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: Those are both tightly contested and if he doesn't have
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: a little extra juice on them, they're not going to
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: get funny.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: It's like he hasn't and I hope he never gets broken.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: But you can tell he's just kind of fearless still.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: He's just got that kind of college fear, Like I
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: feel like Mac had that a little bit too, where
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: you know, you come in, you're used to being the guy,
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: you're used to being surrounded by tons of talent, and.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: You know you just the field without any fear.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: Oh wait, it didn't work well, not for anything.
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: I just feel like some of that with Drake is
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: that he is so athletic that he he knows he's
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: going to be able to get out of the pocket.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: And Mac was just Mac was back there and he
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: was just making fun of Mac. That was he's just
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: sitting Duck back there.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Otherwise touchdown, Yeah, nice throw there by just putting it up,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: may hit the back foot, put it up the back
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: corner of the end zone and even Jacoby Brissett running
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: down to tap up that is.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: Boy, that is a nice little ending there for the
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: Patriots offense if they might do opportunity now with the
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: the with Milton and Zappy might each get one, but.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I would I would highlight two guys that, you know,
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: not a great day for the offense. But if there
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: were two guys to highlight, I think, uh, you know
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: on Booty and uh and even you know Polke a
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: little bit. I think he had a couple of catches
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: to kind of continued his momentum a little bit. Uh Yeah,
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: it does look like I don't know, but good any
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: good good win for the offense. I'd say a little
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: little positive kind of cap.
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: I Actually I like the last play the best. That one,
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: to me was the most conventional that was an NFL player.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: There there's a like a fade to the back corner,
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: you know, and he had a step. The ball was
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: up to the outside where it's supposed to be and
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: his booty was the only guy that could catch it.
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: The other ones I kind of agree with Evan. I
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: think if they were live in his contact there, you're
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: probably gonna knock those away.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Yep. But they were both good throws. The other two
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: to Booty were both really good throws. It's funny because
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: you mentioned the back corner fade, which last couple of
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: training cancels driving me crazy because it was all they
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: would do. Yeah, but that was nice just to see
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: one and they completed coming back now from forty five midfielder,
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: So the way that may just finished, that's like a little.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: I'll take that. I'll get on that.
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: This is this is definitely hurry up now.
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: Dump off to Michael Hasty, who is on my roster
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: right now too. By the way, I'm just telling you
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: I have my whole Yeah, don't don't still read it. Okay,
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: still read it. But yeah, that that's a he's made
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: some plays, I would say, Hasty.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: They just caught a ton of passes and they're gonna
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: need some depth at that position.
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: That time, Kean White came carte blanche off the edge.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Now on I don't know who's supposed to pick him
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: up there.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: I've never heard that described a free rusher. Carte blanche.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: You just gotta free, free, open, do whatever you want, buddy.
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: Highway to the quarterback. Sorry, sorry, trying to be nice.
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: So with the incomplete pass, now they get a chance
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: to huddle up and sort of reset situational second down,
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: second and ten like notice on defense spinning the die.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: A little bit, showing like cover one and going to
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: the second.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Thirty seven seconds to go, second ten. There it is down,
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: sit down again to is that pet way?
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: See, those are the that's the throw that a Patriots
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: quarterback has not made it since the one that we're
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: honoring tonight, which is too high safety shell. You have
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: the middle read route running right up the middle. Profit
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: just throw, just zip that thing up through those two safeties.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: If you trust your arm, you're gonna get it there.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: If you don't, then.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: Well all right, they're downplay here coming up. So another
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: one out of bounds. So sixteen seconds left.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: What are they about the twenty yeah, twenty and fifteen yeah,
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: twenty six.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: It's fourth down, So this is a fourth down, down
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: by down by four at this decision time.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: I'm assuming it is why these guys make the big bucks.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: I'm assuming this is down by more than the field goal,
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: so we gotta we gotta try to get it out
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: and zone.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: There are also no decision, is what you're telling me? Correct,
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: We're not going all stately.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: They're up by fourteen. They're gonna kneel on. We're not
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: giving it a full staly.
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: We're gonna practice kneeling.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: So fourth and one, uh, you know, I gotta have
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: it here, gotta have it what So Shane him and
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: is off the beds year by chooks. Oh, we got it,
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: gets it off to hasty.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: Take that. That's the first down ten tic tic tic
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: tic tic tic tic.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Tic take it. Gotta spike it, situational.
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: Nice little play there by Hasey, though ran away from
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: who's forty four on your roster?
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: It's Joe Giles.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: Joe Giles Harris not not exactly a fifty three year band,
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: but he did run away from him on fourth down,
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: the little option route over the.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Middle to Giles Harris, Greno.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: Jakes.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: So we're going to the end zone here, I here
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: we go for kicking. Now.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: They don't trust Ryland, right, now.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: Already he can't kick four pointer, so it all comes
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: out of oh maybe uh, five seconds to go, so.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: We gonna make the play.
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: We got the ball about the nineteen yard line with
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: five seconds ago. Barring a penalty on the defense, this
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: will likely be the last play of the game. May
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: have had movement up.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: Can't have that, Chukes. Looks like we gonna start conferring.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Oh oh, we got defense.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: They drew him off side.
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: Off side on the defense. That's a big five yards there, Paul,
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: it's a five yards.
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: It can be the difference in these kinds of situations, haven't.
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: And suddenly we got back to eight eight.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Seconds a sudden back, So we're hey, we're playing fantasy
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: right now, football, whatever you want.
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: Coach Mayo puts ten seconds magically back on the clock.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: Oh no, back down to five, back down.
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: It's gonna say what game management by coach Mayo on
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: the ball has been respotted?
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: Where that play, Jacob? So the ball's up to the
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: fourteen now with five seconds left?
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: Uh, and again I reiterate, barring a defensive penalty, Mike,
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: this is likely the last player of the ball game.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: We got three tight ends out there too.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: I seen four tight ends, yet four tightands out there?
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: Oh, this is like a four tight ends in a
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: running back looking for Scott Chandler.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: Oh, they were looking for scotch.
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: Lad coverage on Mitchell Wilcox by Joe Giles Harris and
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: the defense when that was four verts, hell, Mary, we
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: got to get this in the end zone situation. So
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: they got all the big, the big tall guys out
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: there and try to box somebody out.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: Four tight ends. I've seen that in a while.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Drake May is going to get a crack at it.
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: Drake May getting the crack at it? Or are we
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: going Zappi Milton time?
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: Now we've got Drake May, Drake May. So we got
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: fifty eight seconds to go. What what do we got here?
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: Fifty yards?
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they're about the forty five again, yeah, forty five.
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: I'd like to see him end on that. I know,
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: dere good red zone sequence there with.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: Juju out there. We got.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Booty start of the day when he's gonna get right
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: and sit down in the whole zone.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: I loved how he looked off the middle field first,
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: like he didn't rush it, you know, he looked off
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: the safety a little bit. And then came back to
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: that throw. He knew he was going there the whole time.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Snap down, we go. May he gets broken up by
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: forty two? Is easy her?
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: You just not running away from anybody.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean I don't like the way.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: He floats those though he did one of those in
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: the last practice that he does the little one, the
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: little ones know because I wasn't that that one, but
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: the little ones over the middle.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: He tends to just kind of like float and I
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: think those are dangerous.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: Second down, especially if the receiver is not a like
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: wide open, you know, if you have somebody right on him.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: Yeah, get it in there, all right, We got you.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: You and Booty on the outside poking a slot. May
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: this one got too long? Yeah, the dead for a sack.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Clock's running somehow because it.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: Was a sad See that's a little situational thing for Drake.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: May I gotta get got rid of all.
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: Because now you're the clock is that ticking?
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: That's a great point, Evan. I mean, it's a lot
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: of time going off the clock right here.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: And this is this is a lesson that the.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: Youngster will This is one play now guns with a
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: poke on the sideline, broken up, broken one one tick left.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: Hometown clock right there.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: That's played by Alex Austin there and Jalen Polke on
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: the sidelines. Played like to see polk cave.
- 1:19:48Speaker 5: You know, you know it might have benefited him not
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: catching it because the clock may have run out if
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: he caught it. Yep, it wouldn't have The clock wouldn't
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: have stopped until they deemed him out of bounds.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: Looks like doing him a solid and moving the ball.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Up a little bit here, going to give one shot
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: at it, probably the seven or eight, maybe the eight. Yeah,
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: I would have we'll call it the I would have
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: left it there.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: Let's see, let's see him rip one up. The scene
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: from thirty yards out. No, I'm not the coach, as
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: people would like to remind me all the time.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: I thought that was just me. All right, the nine
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: yard line here once I was calling at the eight, Mike,
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: Oh sorry thanks eight Hey, quick throat to the back
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: and got it. I'm giving it to him.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: I'm giving this guy says no. This guy said no,
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: And I'll tell you this, that looked like a catch.
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: He absolutely pushed off. I can't believes a flag. But
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: this guy says, no, team is crowded. They're talking.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Now, we got some talk, we got something, Wow, we
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: got some heated a going.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: The offense is all around the rest overrules, and.
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: I think based on the Overrull meant the fifteen white
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: shirts around him compared to the one blue shirt Josh Blitz.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: No, the defense, I don't plead in their case. Nobody
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: nobody plead in the defensive case.
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: I'm just gonna be honest with you. Watching it live,
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: I thought that was a touchdown.
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: I thought he caught it too, but he clearly pushed
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: off and neither one of the guys through a flight.
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: Now they're still talking.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: You gotta go to replay on that one.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: I think we've got any and the defense is going
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: to do some push ups there, and uh, you know,
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: I know it was a type play, but I think
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: for an offense that, you know, need some wins right now,
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: need some positivity. Most of the write ups today are
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: going to be about that they struggle for most of
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: the day, but at least the takeaway can be well
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 1:21:43Speaker 5: For the last couple of plays of all of these drives,
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: even though they set them up to have another play,
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: they they made some plays, you know, like the you
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: know the Booty catches and you know this one by Polk.
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: I mean there's a good place. Yeah, nice day for
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: Booty and Polk. That's still like, there's still this is unbelievable.
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: We're gonna pull Peppers. Peppers is pleading this case. I'm
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: with Mike's boys. I'm with Mike's boys Peppers on this one.
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: That's blaytanont Pepper.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: I love him. I love him.
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: And they're starting to get the backdrops in place, guys,
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: so it might be time to uh yeah.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Well that's gonna do it. I guess goodbye, and uh,
