- 0:03one fifth of all Tesla Cybertrucks registered in the
- 0:06United States over a recent reporting period.
- 0:09Yeah, out of just over 7000 total registrations in that
- 0:13window, 1279 went straight to SpaceX.
- 0:18Which is, I mean, that's just a wild percentage.
- 0:21It really is and it completely alters how you have to evaluate
- 0:25the market presence of this vehicle.
- 0:27Right, because normally you assume a vehicle on the road
- 0:29represents, you know, a regular consumer making a choice.
- 0:32Exactly. They weighed their options, they
- 0:34went to a dealership and they spent their own money.
- 0:37That establishes a baseline of organic demand.
- 0:40But when you introduce a single corporate buyer accounting for
- 0:43nearly 20% of all registered, that baseline just vanishes.
- 0:48So the. Question we really need to
- 0:49answer today is is this a legitimate strategy for fleet
- 0:53modernization, or is a private empire quietly buying up
- 0:57inventory to mask a total collapse in consumer demand for
- 1:01a public company? To really understand the
- 1:03mechanics of what is happening here, we have to look at how
- 1:07much regular consumer demand has actually dried up.
- 1:10If you subtract those internal purchases by Musk's own
- 1:13ecosystem, registrations would have plummeted by 51% compared
- 1:18to previous metrics. Wow, 51% and we are talking
- 1:22about an enormous amount of capital changing hands here,
- 1:24right? Absolutely.
- 1:26The total value of these internal purchases likely
- 1:29exceeds $100 million. That's incredible.
- 1:33There is even video footage from an aerospace tracking channel
- 1:36showing just rows and rows of these vehicles sitting idle at a
- 1:40launch facility in Texas. Yeah, the official social media
- 1:43accounts even joked about calling the facility a
- 1:45cyberbase, right? It is a highly visible
- 1:48accumulation of inventory for a product that originally promised
- 1:51like a massive backlog of eager buyers.
- 1:54Yeah, because previously they only moved around 20,000 units,
- 1:57which is roughly what 8% of the initial quarter million annual
- 2:01production target exactly back up.
- 2:03There is a detail in the registration data that really
- 2:06got my eye. Yeah.
- 2:07What's that? It wasn't just the rocket
- 2:09company doing this. XAI and Neuralink also bought a
- 2:13combined 60 trucks. Yeah, they did.
- 2:16Why does a brain interface company and a software focused
- 2:19artificial intelligence company needs 60 heavy duty stainless
- 2:23steel pickup trucks? Well the official line from
- 2:26engineering staff is that they are replacing their gas powered
- 2:30support fleets. OK.
- 2:31And I mean a rocket launch facility covers a massive amount
- 2:34of physical ground. They might genuinely need
- 2:37utility vehicles to move heavy equipment across unpaved areas.
- 2:41Sure. For rockets, maybe.
- 2:43But 50 tricks for an AI company that develops software and chat
- 2:46bots, that really stretches the definition of a necessary
- 2:49support vehicle. Yeah, because AI companies
- 2:51operate out of office parks and server farms.
- 2:54They write code, they manage cooling systems for data
- 2:57centers. They don't typically need heavy
- 2:59duty off road capability to haul servers around.
- 3:02No, not at all. Some reportedly use for
- 3:04security, but a standard sedan usually handles perimeter checks
- 3:08just fine. Exactly.
- 3:10And what this changes is the level of transparency available
- 3:13to you as an investor or just an observer of the automotive
- 3:16market. Because they're private
- 3:18companies. Right, because these purchasing
- 3:19companies are private entities, they do not have to disclose
- 3:23fleet acquisition the same way a public company would.
- 3:26So if you are a retail investor holding stock in this auto
- 3:29company, this is the exact kind of blind spot you need to be
- 3:32aware of. Absolutely.

- 3:37your investment is doing great, completely unaware that the CEO

- 4:15So since regular consumer demand is looking so shaky, there is a

- 4:29UPFIT is modifying these vehicles specifically for police

- 4:42Mechanically, that means installing armor capable of
- 4:45stopping standard handgun rounds, which adds significant

- 5:05Vegas Metropolitan Police Department acquired a fleet of
- 5:0811 of these modified trucks, 10 for regular patrol and 1
- 5:13specifically for SWAT operations.
- 5:15Yeah, they did. But here's a crucial detail
- 5:17about that Las Vegas acquisition.
- 5:20The Police Department didn't use taxpayer money for this.
- 5:22Really. Yeah, that $2.7 million fleet
- 5:25was entirely funded by a private donation from venture
- 5:28capitalists. Oh wow.
- 5:30It feels less like a natural municipal contract and more like
- 5:35a heavily sponsored promotional tour.
- 5:38Yeah, that makes sense. It's like a high school getting
- 5:40a brand new state-of-the-art scoreboard, but only because a
- 5:43local car dealership paid for it in exchange for putting their

- 6:17handling these vehicles. What do you mean?

- 6:21removal of the high acceleration software before putting them on
- 6:24the street. No, I can absolutely see why a
- 6:28heavy stainless steel vehicle accelerating to 60 mph in under
- 6:323 seconds is a serious liability in a crowded urban environment.

- 6:38You want predictable handling, not a drag racer.
- 6:40Right, They wanted to ensure officers maintain total control
- 6:44during routine patrols. Makes sense?
- 6:46But what that software limitation changes is the
- 6:48perception of the vehicles utility.
- 6:51By removing the speed element, it opens up a potential new
- 6:54tactical niche. OK, like what?
- 6:57Well, a durable steel body truck could be highly effective in
- 7:00specific policing scenarios like responding to barricaded
- 7:03suspects where armor and low end torque matter significantly more
- 7:07than a zero to 60 Sprint. Sure, but the reliance on

- 7:13municipalities are actively choosing to spend their own

- 7:35and choosing these trucks over a standard interceptor, it is hard
- 7:38to call it a true market expansion.

- 8:24shares, creating a higher valuation on paper.
- 8:27Meanwhile, the AI division has spent nearly $200 million
- 8:31purchasing massive industrial battery units from the auto
- 8:34company to power its data centers, and the CEO is also
- 8:39redirecting high end computer chips from the auto manufacturer
- 8:42over to the AI company to train neural networks.
- 8:46And on the other side of the equation, the public auto
- 8:48company is routing billions in investments back into that newly
- 8:53merged private entity. Exactly.
- 8:56Hold on, let's just look at the money.
- 8:57It is flowing in a circle. It is a closed loop of capital
- 9:01and what this changes is the fundamental risk profile for the
- 9:04public company. How so?
- 9:05It allows a massive cash rich private empire to act as an
- 9:10unlisted financial buffer for a struggling product line.
- 9:13So it's essentially like playing Monopoly but you're secretly

- 9:18running low on cash, landing on bad properties and struggling to

- 11:24underground transit system in Las Vegas right now.
- 11:28It uses regular driven cars to move people through a couple
- 11:31miles of tunnels. But the company recently
- 11:33detailed plans to introduce a high capacity autonomous Transit
- 11:37van to supplement a fleet of over 1000 vehicles in those
- 11:42tunnels, specifically for moving large crowds during stadium
- 11:46events. But how does an underground
- 11:48passenger van connect to a stainless steel pickup truck?
- 11:52The connection is the underlying engineering, the autonomous
- 11:55processing power, the specific steering by wire mechanics, the
- 11:58high voltage electrical architecture.
- 12:01You know, that was all pioneered and refined on the truck.
- 12:04Steering by wire, for example, instead of physical steering
- 12:07column connecting your hands to the wheels, it's completely
- 12:09digital. You turn the wheel, the computer

- 12:32weight, and easier assembly by robotic arms on the factory
- 12:36floor. Exactly.
- 12:38So the Trek is essentially A ruggedized test bed.
- 12:42They are using its physical platform as a stepping stone for
- 12:46unsupervised autonomous mass transport.
- 12:49So you were saying the physical shape of the truck matters
- 12:51significantly less than the computer brains and wiring
- 12:54harnesses inside it? Yes, and that completely changes
- 12:57how investors are meant to view the company.

- 13:01It shifts the metric of success. You are no longer evaluating
- 13:05them on how many pickup trucks they sell to suburban commuters.

- 13:34drive version at $60,000 that completely strips away the
- 13:38premium pricing of the earlier models.
- 13:40Up until now, the high cost provided a convenient excuse for
- 13:44low sales. You could argue that people
- 13:47desperately wanted the truck but simply couldn't afford $100,000
- 13:52vehicle, especially in an economy where interest rates
- 13:55make car loans incredibly expensive.
