- 0:02Welcome to Formula Fanatics, the high-octane sub-series of BreakFix
- 0:06Podcast's drive-through motorsports news.
- 0:09This is your pit stop for all things Formula 1, from breaking
- 0:12headlines and race recaps to insider analysis and paddock buzz.
- 0:16Whether you're a diehard Tifoso, a Red Bull loyalist, or just love the
- 0:20thrill of wheel-to-wheel racing, we've got you covered with up-to-date
- 0:23F1 news delivered at full throttle.
- 0:25Strap in, because the lights are out and we're underway.
- 0:28This is Formula Fanatics.
- 0:40Formula uh.
- 0:43We have so many things to talk about in Formula 1.
- 0:45What was the last race?
- 0:46It feels like a millennia ago.
- 0:48Uh, Miami, right?
- 0:49Miami.
- 0:50I put it out of my mind, 'cause I don't like that track.
- 0:53Oh, God, it was forever ago.
- 0:55It was a couple weeks ago.
- 0:56What... Was there any drama there?
- 0:59I can't even remember.
- 1:00Your boy won.
- 1:01Yeah, Kimi.
- 1:02Kimi.
- 1:03So Miami was the, had a sprint race, which was super exciting.
- 1:07Yes.
- 1:08So in my notes I wrote, "Hulkenberg didn't start the Miami Sprint despite
- 1:12qualifying 10th due to," "engine issues in the Audi." Are they running the
- 1:19same two liter that everybody else is?
- 1:20You know, Binotto said there's motor problems.
- 1:23Well, the other car still finished in the middle of the pack.
- 1:27Mm-hmm.
- 1:28What's that, what's that Adam Sandler song at a medium pace?
- 1:30Uh, that's still multiple positions ahead of Cadillac, who finished basically last.
- 1:36Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 1:38Kimi, they need to drill him on taking off at the line.
- 1:43What is his problem?
- 1:44I don't know.
- 1:46He qualifies on the pole, unlike Aston Martin, who qualified
- 1:50slower than the Formula 2 cars.
- 1:51That's why I have the graphic up on the screen here.
- 1:54He qualifies on the pole, and he can't get out of his own way.
- 1:57Everybody goes around him.
- 1:58Like, he stalls.
- 2:00I don't get it.
- 2:01Uh, I don't know.
- 2:02I don't know enough about the cars.
- 2:04I've never driven one, but clearly he's the only person
- 2:07suffering from this launch issue.
- 2:10God.
- 2:11And you would've thought, given the cancellation of two of the races,
- 2:14so the very much extended, like, spring break that they had, that,
- 2:18boy, you should've just been on the track doing that over and over again.
- 2:23It'd, it'd be like writing words on a chalkboard.
- 2:26Toto should've just made him do starts over and over and over again.
- 2:30Like, I don't get it.
- 2:31It's terrible.
- 2:32Maybe he did, and then maybe in the heat of the moment he crumbles a little bit.
- 2:37I don't know.
- 2:38Maybe he's texting on his phone instead.
- 2:39I don't know.
- 2:40Who knows?
- 2:40Selfie.
- 2:43So in the sprint race, Lindblad was out.
- 2:45Hulkenberg was out.
- 2:47Russell cuts across the nose of Antonelli at one point.
- 2:50That was interesting.
- 2:50Those two are not getting along.
- 2:52It's very clear that Russell does not like Antonelli.
- 2:55I don't think there's any animosity the other way.
- 2:57Yeah, I was gonna say I'm pretty sure that's one-sided, 'cause Kimi
- 3:00is, like, this little lap dog who's just, like, so excited to be, like,
- 3:03around everybody whenever you see him.
- 3:06Maybe that's why he can't start a race.
- 3:07He's there like Thumper, and he's like, "Oh, my God, it's so exciting.
- 3:14Then he forgets that the lights turn green.
- 3:16They just go around him.
- 3:17Maybe that's what it is.
- 3:19Tanya's fallen out of her chair.
- 3:22Give her a minute to catch her breath.
- 3:30Give me S. It's an Ellie.
- 3:32This is the middle name
- 3:36Ooh.
- 3:37Wow.
- 3:41And that's meant with no disrespect The man is a h- he's
- 3:45my hero now, I'm telling you.
- 3:46Oh, my gosh.
- 3:48Well, I guess we'll find out this coming weekend if he's, uh, gotten
- 3:52his, his nerves in check for Montreal.
- 3:56Yeah, yeah.
- 3:57That'd be nice to see him start on the pole and blow everybody away by turn one.
- 4:02So going back to Miami, this is the first time we got to see the flip over wing.
- 4:07Yes.
- 4:08And I remember commenting to you, "Did I just see the wing
- 4:11rotate on the Ferrari?" Yes.
- 4:12The Ferraris have the rotating wing now.
- 4:15Yes.
- 4:16Didn't seem to help 'cause I think they finished in their worst positions.
- 4:19Oh, God, it was awful.
- 4:21It's like, "What are you guys doing?" But we got the cool flippy wing.
- 4:24And then there was a battle between Hamilton and Verstappen.
- 4:27I had wrote down Norris, Piastri, Leclerc, and inevitably Antonelli.
- 4:31I think that's c- was, like, the top of the, the sprint race there, basically.
- 4:35Mm-hmm.
- 4:36And then the full race, yet again, Antonelli's in the pole.
- 4:39Then we had Verstappen, Russell, Leclerc.
- 4:42The last car was the Audi with Bortoleto.
- 4:45Again, we had a sucky start.
- 4:46And so, and this is where Verstappen spins, and we're all like, "What
- 4:51did I just see?" They... How many times did they show that replay
- 4:54of Max spinning at the beginning?
- 4:56Several times.
- 4:57But I mean, he caught it, and didn't get hit, and kept going.
- 5:01And that's not the first time, actually, in an F1 race where
- 5:03he's caught a spin, and then just like it was nothing, kept going.
- 5:07S- it was wild to see.
- 5:09I expected Stroll to plow into him, and even he didn't end up
- 5:13hitting Max, maybe 'cause he was so far back it didn't matter.
- 5:15But still, it was unreal to see him spin in the middle of
- 5:19traffic and then just keep going.
- 5:21Buck wild.
- 5:22So then he's like, what?
- 5:2310th place at that point, and then Leclerc's at the front of the
- 5:26pack because of all the confusion.
- 5:28Yes.
- 5:29Absolutely wild.
- 5:30Yes, that's right, and he, and then his car broke at the end.
- 5:34That's why he ended up so far back.
- 5:35That's right.
- 5:36He should've been podiumed, and then the car started breaking down,
- 5:40and it was, like, the last lap or whatever, and he just kept going
- 5:43slower and slower, then everybody caught up to him and got around him.
- 5:47And somebody got a penalty.
- 5:49Maybe he got a penalty on top of that, too, to push them further back?
- 5:52Yeah, Leclerc got a penalty after that.
- 5:55'Cause if not, he would've ended up in sixth behind Verstappen.
- 5:59Correct.
- 5:59'Cause Verstappen passed him, I think, right at the start finish.
- 6:04And then, yeah, forget what he got a penalty for, and then
- 6:06knocked him even further back.
- 6:0820 second time penalty after finishing.
- 6:11He was driving a damaged car in an unsafe condition, 'cause I think it, like, broke
- 6:15the rear wishbone or something like that.
- 6:17Uh-huh.
- 6:17Okay.
- 6:18That's what was the problem.
- 6:20Okay.
- 6:20So that's what he was investigated for, and then they finally ruled... And then
- 6:24it... I feel bad for him, because he still managed to hold it together and, what?
- 6:28He came in, like, fifth, just struggling to bring the car- back.
- 6:32Yeah.
- 6:32And it's like, I, at that point I would've been like, "Man, you get the hard charger
- 6:35award and you can keep those fifth place points. Who cares?" Like, you did it, and
- 6:40the car made it home despite being broken.
- 6:42But I guess the downside to that was, what if the wheel fell off and hit somebody?
- 6:46But there was, like, two turns left.
- 6:48Who cares?
- 6:49As long as he crossed the line and pulled off to the side, he was fine.
- 6:52But I get it, racing incident.
- 6:54So I have in my notes, Antonelli ends up first at one point and then
- 6:59drops to third, and then Hadjar and Gasly wreck out because Hadjar hit
- 7:03the apex and broke the suspension.
- 7:05That was funny.
- 7:06I was like, "You know that wall doesn't move?" Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:08That's right.
- 7:09They wrecked, two wrecks.
- 7:11Simultaneously.
- 7:11They were unrelated- Yeah ... in, like, the same lap.
- 7:13Yep.
- 7:14Oh, is this the one where Gasly ended up upside down?
- 7:17Yeah, because Lawson hits him.
- 7:18Yeah.
- 7:19He flipped him over.
- 7:20This was a very dramatic race, actually.
- 7:23It was.
- 7:24'Cause normally it's not that exciting.
- 7:26It's like, man, this track is boring, and then they, all they do is yell about rain.
- 7:30"It's gonna rain.
- 7:31It's gonna rain." And you're like, it's 97 degrees and sunny, and they're
- 7:33all going, "It's gonna rain, guys.
- 7:34Don't worry.
- 7:35It's gonna rain." It's coming next lap.
- 7:37Yeah.
- 7:3725 laps later.
- 7:38Which they did again this race, too, and I'm like, "Seriously? Can
- 7:42we stop with this BS?" Like, I get that there's sudden s- thunderstorms
- 7:45in Miami, but come on, guys.
- 7:47Like, let's be real.
- 7:48So yeah, Lawson hits Gasly, flips him over, and an announcer said, I,
- 7:53I wrote this down, I don't know if it was Coulthard or whoever, and he's
- 7:56like, "Lawson lost deceleration."
- 7:59Is that a funny way of saying that he didn't hit the brakes
- 8:02and just, like, plowed into him?
- 8:03Like, what does Lawson deceleration mean?
- 8:05Or is it something in this electronic system that doesn't work?
- 8:08I believe something allegedly broke on the car.
- 8:12Allegedly.
- 8:13Allegedly.
- 8:15Antonelli was complaining about gearbox issues, which was to me very similar
- 8:19to what Russell did the year prior, where he would, "Oh, you know..."
- 8:22But he did have electronics issues even though the car kept going.
- 8:25So gearbox issues with Antonelli, which then I didn't understand
- 8:28because he started going faster.
- 8:29Is it all in your head?
- 8:31I, uh, whatever.
- 8:32But Hülkenberg did have gearbox issues, and then there's a Kimi and Lando moment.
- 8:38And let's see what else.
- 8:39Russell ends up behind Verstappen in the end, and ahead of Hamilton.
- 8:44Hamilton, not a great race for him.
- 8:47On the other side of that, I wanna talk about some other Formula 1 stuff.
- 8:52So I had a recent Formula 1 related experience.
- 8:55I got two articles that you can check out in your free time.
- 8:59They're on our other website, or you can pull them up through the
- 9:01Drive Thru show notes themselves.
- 9:03The first part was I ended up in Boston for the IBM Think conference, which
- 9:08did you know IBM sponsors Ferrari?
- 9:10Does all their big compute stuff, they use, uh, IBM for that.
- 9:13So I got to see last year's Formula 1 car on stage at IBM in Boston.
- 9:18They also had their own simulator where they were showing off Watsonx
- 9:22and the telemetry and how it works.
- 9:23They had a modified version of Assetto Corsa.
- 9:26I got on there and tried it.
- 9:27It was in Niki Lauda's F1 car from, like, back in the '70s, and the rig was kind of
- 9:32chintzy because it was all, like, Logitech stuff you could have bought at Best Buy.
- 9:35So not the best experience, although I, I put up a podium time like, my first try,
- 9:40and it was like, "All right, I'm good.
- 9:41See y'all later." So there's a bunch of pictures from that, pictures of
- 9:44the car, more about the write-up and the simulation and, and about how IBM
- 9:48contributes to the team and, and what they do and all that kind of stuff.
- 9:52I will say, seeing last year's car up close, like, you could get really,
- 9:56really close to it, it is super big.
- 9:59Like, truck size big.
- 10:01I forgot how big the modern Formula cars were because you don't... You always see
- 10:05them from a distance, but once you see them up close, just crazy, crazy huge.
- 10:08Really interesting time at IBM's conference.
- 10:10You know, spent a lot of time learning about how they're using artificial
- 10:13intelligence in Formula 1, how they're augmenting the engineers.
- 10:17It did r- kind of raise the question in my head, is racing still racing in 2026?
- 10:22Like, with all this AI and all this technology, you know, determining
- 10:26exactly what they need to do to the cars, are the drivers still driving?
- 10:30I, I think so.
- 10:32On the other side of that, I got invited to F1 Arcade in Boston for the first time.
- 10:37This establishment opened a couple of years ago, and I've always been curious,
- 10:41and I was like, "Oh, next time I'm in Boston, I'll have to go check it out."
- 10:44Well, what's even better is when you don't have to pay the registration
- 10:47fees, and you go with the Arrow team.
- 10:50Yes, Arrow, the same people that sponsor McLaren, to visit F1 Arcade
- 10:55and go try out their simulators, check out the bar, go compete against other
- 11:00folks for some signed McLaren merch.
- 11:03And you get to read the whole story about that on our website as well, and all the
- 11:07gory details about how the simulators are set up and how I ended up doing.
- 11:11So I had a great time.
- 11:12I will say, if you're a Formula 1 fan and you end up in Boston or in DC or in Vegas
- 11:17or Atlanta or the, you know, other places where F1 Arcade now exists, check it out.
- 11:23You will not be disappointed.
- 11:25It is absolutely a lot of fun.
- 11:26And if you go with some friends, they'll just enjoy the bar, too,
- 11:29'cause it's pretty cool looking.
- 11:30Well, this next one belongs on your game room table.
- 11:34What is this, Tanya?
- 11:36So I'm actually probably gonna buy this.
- 11:39What?
- 11:40Apparently, there's going to be a Monopoly F1 edition board game.
- 11:43And so from the surface, you might think, oh, it's just like every Monopoly edition
- 11:48blah, blah, blah board game, right?
- 11:50Where it's just themed or whatever.
- 11:51This is actually apparently different.
- 11:53It's Monopoly with a twist, so you actually have to, like, win races as
- 11:58you're going around the board, and you- the teams each have unique abilities.
- 12:02So the example they give is, there's a special F1 die that you roll with the
- 12:06regular dice, and if you're, like, Team McLaren, you get to either immediately
- 12:10move to the next race or move some number of spaces shown on the red die.
- 12:13So I ask you, it is worth getting this just to find out, what is the
- 12:18special ability of Aston Martin?
- 12:20Yes.
- 12:21Yes.
- 12:21Is it crash your opponent?
- 12:26You got strolled.
- 12:27Do not pass go.
- 12:28Do not pass start.
- 12:29You move two spaces back.
- 12:30You spun out.
- 12:34So this looks like an interesting twist on the Monopoly idea, so I think
- 12:38it could be interesting for people who enjoy a good board game night.
- 12:41Maybe this is something to add to your collection.
- 12:44Look at that.
- 12:44Look, you have all the colors there of all the cars.
- 12:47How much does it cost?
- 12:49They actually did not list the retail price, but, uh, I don't know.
- 12:54I would guess somewhere in the range of 30 to $50 easily.
- 12:57Ooh, and it's current.
- 12:58It has the Audi team in it as well.
- 13:01Actually, they in fact do list the retail price.
- 13:03I was correct, splitting the difference, 39.99, and it releases July 15th.
- 13:09You can pre-order at walmart.com.
- 13:11There you go.
- 13:12I'm sure they'll be flying off the shelves.
- 13:15Well, you never know.
- 13:16Look at what Drive to Survive probably made Hasbro go, "How do we too
- 13:22capitalize on Formula 1?" Lego's done it.
- 13:26Monopoly's doing it.
- 13:27Who's next?
- 13:28Who's next?
- 13:29Transformers.
- 13:30Yes, excellent.
- 13:32Let's switch gears and still talk about Max Verstappen for a second.
- 13:35Tanya, you like to follow his extracurricular activities.
- 13:40Yes, so there's multiple extracurricular activities, so one of which was
- 13:44Max recently went to the Fuji Circuit, and he was racing a Nissan
- 13:49Super GT class car for funsies.
- 13:53First time at Fuji, first time in the Super GT car, and he beat out the driver
- 14:01who drives that car on a regular basis.
- 14:03No.
- 14:05How embarrassed is that guy?
- 14:07I mean, probably didn't feel great about it.
- 14:10Probably not very embarrassed.
- 14:11It's Max Verstappen.
- 14:13I mean, the guy had a face on, you know?
- 14:16So I don't think he was necessarily pleased, but could've just been
- 14:22resting, resting face also.
- 14:24I don't know.
- 14:26What is this car?
- 14:27What i- 'cause at first when I saw this, I was like, "That doesn't look
- 14:29like a Mercedes." No, I mean, it's in, it's a Red Bull car, so it's,
- 14:34it's Red Bull livery and all that.
- 14:36But apparently, it's a Nissan Z Nismo GT500.
- 14:42Ah, okay, so it's an actual Nissan.
- 14:44There we go.
- 14:44Yes.
- 14:44Yeah, I was gonna say, it looks like a, looks like a Z.
- 14:47Yeah.
- 14:47Sort of.
- 14:48With a lot of wide body flares.
- 14:51That's a lot of scaffolding on that car.
- 14:52And ground effects.
- 14:54Yeah.
- 14:55And hood scoops.
- 14:56That's wild.
- 14:57And GoPros.
- 14:58It reminds me of the stuff that they made in the '80s.
- 15:00But yeah, he ended up being several seconds faster than the person
- 15:05who normally drives this car and this track, like, all the time.
- 15:08And in the rain.
- 15:09And it was, yeah, and it was under wet conditions.
- 15:12Wow.
- 15:13So what else is going on in his extracurricular activities?
- 15:16All of this was a lead-up in some of the previous races he's done.
- 15:20He's shown his commitment and interest to endurance racing, which has taken
- 15:25shape at specifically the Nürburgring.
- 15:28And this past weekend was the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring race.
- 15:32Okay.
- 15:33And I did post an article from Motorsport that actually deep dives
- 15:38into the statistics, because basically, he's the fastest guy in the world.
- 15:43Like, I mean, in summary, nobody is faster than him, because he's gone Formula 1
- 15:50champion, faster than everybody, into a whole other motorsport discipline against
- 15:54people that are doing this all the time.
- 15:57And I think, in summary, at the end of the day, he created a two-minute gap-
- 16:02Wow ... from all his stints combined.
- 16:05But is he faster than an electric Taycan around the Nürburgring?
- 16:09I think if you put him in the electric Taycan, then yes, they
- 16:13together would have the lap record.
- 16:17I mean, they broke it down by all his stints versus his teammates versus the
- 16:22number, the sister car, and he was just miles ahead of everybody else, basically.
- 16:27I mean, some stints he's, you know, 30 seconds faster than his
- 16:31teammates or his, or the sister car or whatever, unfortunately.
- 16:34And so I mean, that put him in the lead.
- 16:36They were in, in the lead for a huge majority of the
- 16:40race until it all fell apart.
- 16:43At two hours to go or something like that.
- 16:46And unfortunately, it was the number three car, his car, the
- 16:50number 80 sister car, one-two, and a fricking drive axle took him out.
- 16:57Ah.
- 16:58Drive axle failure.
- 16:59They brought it in.
- 17:00It's like 45-minute repair.
- 17:02They repaired the car, and they went back out for the sake of saying,
- 17:07"We're going back out and we're gonna finish this." They ended up in,
- 17:09like, 38th or 39th place as a result.
- 17:14So from first to 39th or 38th, I mean, unfortunate.
- 17:18He would have won.
- 17:19Like, he would've been able to say, "I'm also a 24-hour Nürburgring
- 17:23champion," but we'll see.
- 17:25I'm sure he'll try again next year.
- 17:26Hopefully, the car holds up.
- 17:28You know, who knows?
- 17:29M- the other car held up.
- 17:30Maybe a, a two-minute lead was too aggressive driving, I don't know.
- 17:35Just also can just be bad luck when you're in an endurance race.
- 17:38Lots of things can happen.
- 17:39Of course, now there's all the whispers, "Oh, Le Mans. Is he gonna
- 17:42do a 24 Hours Le Mans and join that?" And I mean, I wouldn't be surprised.
- 17:46I think it's too late, obviously, for this year, but- Yeah ... who knows?
- 17:49Maybe next year we could be seeing more endurance racing.
- 17:53I, I like it.
- 17:54It's a good thing.
- 17:55And then this is why I keep saying I think he's going to find a way to exit
- 17:59stage left from Formula 1, because this stuff is more interesting to him.
- 18:02There's also those reports where it's saying, where he's saying that, "No,
- 18:06I'm..." I don't know if he, uh... The reports are saying he's staying,
- 18:10he's fulfilling his contract with Red Bull in Formula 1, which may be true.
- 18:15I mean, if he can do it all, I think this is him.
- 18:18He lives and breathes.
- 18:21He'll spend every day in the car racing, so as long as it doesn't
- 18:24conflict with calendar, I think he would do all the things all the time.
- 18:28For him, it doesn't matter, right?
- 18:30He'll do his virtual, he'll do this endurance, he'll do the Formula 1, and
- 18:34he's got the energy for it, apparently.
- 18:36He said before he'd rather do all these things now at his age than
- 18:39wait around till he's, you know, 40 and I guess doing an Alonso.
- 18:45Oh, what a backhanded message that is.
- 18:48I mean, I'm saying the Alonso part, but he definitely said the part about fulfilling
- 18:52some of these other driving, I don't know if you'd call them dreams, but, uh, goals.
- 18:58Is it, do you think it's because he drinks all that Red Bull?
- 19:01He gives you wings.
- 19:03Or is it because he wears these?
- 19:05It's probably, I'm sure- The Crocs ... he's wearing his Red Bull Crocs.
- 19:13You never see his feet.
- 19:14You wanna tell me Max Verstappen doesn't wear Red Bull Crocs around the house.
- 19:19I bet you he's got these.
- 19:21Oh, 100% they've sent him a pair.
- 19:24100%. Whether or not he's actually wearing them, I don't know.
- 19:28Maybe what's-her-name's wearing them.
- 19:30Okay, real talk.
- 19:31I swore- You would never buy a Croc in your life, but you might buy
- 19:35these ... if they're Ferrari Crocs.
- 19:37I would wear Ferrari Crocs.
- 19:38Would you wear Ferrari Crocs?
- 19:39Brad, would you wear McLaren Crocs?
- 19:41I wouldn't wear Crocs.
- 19:43Bull.
- 19:44Real talk, if you could get Formula 1 Crocs, would you wear them?
- 19:47I would not wear Crocs.
- 19:48In size 19 or whatever you wear.
- 19:50I would not buy Crocs, no.
- 19:52Come on, look at these.
- 19:54Then just imagine, you could put a little spoiler on the back,
- 19:57put little canards on the front, like wide body kit on your Crocs.
- 20:00Where, where are you wearing these?
- 20:02On the drive through.
- 20:04Okay, so you're not wearing them out in public.
- 20:07But look how cool they are.
- 20:08No, I wouldn't wear them in public.
- 20:09I, I, cool is an interesting word to use.
- 20:12Cool in the sense that those are Formula 1 Crocs.
- 20:16They do have spoilers.
- 20:17Look at that.
- 20:17I'm still not seeing cool.
- 20:19Look, they have spoilers.
- 20:23That's awesome.
- 20:24That's awesome.
- 20:26Come on.
- 20:28Ah.
- 20:28How much do we think they are?
- 20:30Oh, I don't know.
- 20:30Tell me, how much are they?
- 20:32$95. What?
- 20:33That's worth it.
- 20:35Dude, Ferrari Crocs for $95, I might do that, just 'cause.
- 20:40Brad, if you really wanna save money, this is how you do it.
- 20:43You don't buy them.
- 20:44That's how you save money.
- 20:46You wait till all the teams come out, and you buy the Lance
- 20:49Stroll ones that nobody wants.
- 20:52They fall apart halfway through your walk.
- 20:54Do you trip when you wear them?
- 20:56You don't start your walk.
- 20:57Yeah.
- 20:58You're, you're automatically walking into other people wearing Crocs.
- 21:02Do your legs start shaking when you wear the Aston Martin ones as you're walking?
- 21:06Yeah.
- 21:06You're like, "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah." The Cadillac ones smoke.
- 21:09No, the Audi ones smoke.
- 21:10You can only wear them for 25 minutes before you have a
- 21:13seizure- Yeah ... or something.
- 21:15Terrible.
- 21:17The Mercedes ones make complaining noises.
- 21:20Oh.
- 21:22Mm-hmm.
- 21:23In a weird British accent.
- 21:25If you have the Russell ones with his number, every time you
- 21:28step it goes, "Wah, wah, wah."
- 21:32Oh, tea and crumpets.
- 21:33Oh, tea and biscuits.
- 21:35Damn you, Kimi.
- 21:36Damn you, Kimi.
- 21:38Ferrari cheated.
- 21:39Ferrari cheated.
- 21:40Oh, that's terrible.
- 21:42Speaking of terrible, breaking news.
- 21:49Oh my God.
- 21:51We thought this guy was unhireable, and yet somebody is going to hire him.
- 21:56Look at this.
- 21:57It's your favorite, Brad.
- 21:58They're gonna use him and abuse him to get their program off
- 22:03the ground, and then once it's approved, they're gonna fire him.
- 22:06"Your services are no longer needed." I mean, the BYD team is not even
- 22:10approved yet to be in Formula 1.
- 22:12Yeah.
- 22:12That's the scam.
- 22:14BYD is not approved for Formula 1, yet they hired Christian
- 22:19Horner to be their team lead.
- 22:20No, they have not hired him.
- 22:23They're in conversations with him.
- 22:25They're in serious discussions with him.
- 22:27Are they that desperate?
- 22:29Yes.
- 22:30This is like Unsolved Mysteries.
- 22:32Why would you hire Christian Horner?
- 22:35'Cause he led Red Bull for so many years.
- 22:38Into the toilet?
- 22:39Like, what, what, what?
- 22:41It's like that scene at the beginning of Army of Darkness.
- 22:44Remember?
- 22:44And he- and they're walking along and, and Bruce Campbell's with the King of
- 22:47Scotland and he's like, "I lead this and I lead that," and blah, blah, blah,
- 22:50blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 22:51And Bruce Campbell's like, "Look, buddy, you're leading two things
- 22:54right now, Jack and shit, and Jack just left town." That's what's
- 22:57happening here with Christian Horner.
- 23:00He's leading nothing.
- 23:02This guy, I can't... Nah.
- 23:04If he can get a job in Formula 1, why can't I?
- 23:06That's what I wanna know.
- 23:07How many teams have you led to a championship?
- 23:10Hey, I'm gonna lead my lemons team to a championship.
- 23:12Maybe not.
- 23:13But you know, hey, whatever.
- 23:14Actually, I'm not the team principal.
- 23:15That's Tanya's job.
- 23:27And on that note, well, sadly, we'll have recorded this
- 23:30before the Canadian Grand Prix.
- 23:32We will not have that information in time for the publishing of this
- 23:36episode, but we are wishing everyone an awesome Canadian Grand Prix.
- 23:41It's gonna be amazing.
- 23:42It's not gonna be like every other race we've seen this
- 23:44year, but Kimi's gonna win.
- 23:46But we can talk about that more next time.
