- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always. Hello, and welcome
- 0:20Speaker 1: back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance. Of course,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I'm your host Clay, and with me we are live
- 0:29Speaker 1: a little later than normal, but it's all good. Katy's
- 0:34Speaker 1: here with me like always.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I had Jerry duty today, hence the makeup. Nobody wanted
- 0:41Speaker 2: to be the four person. We literally sat in the
- 0:44Speaker 2: deliberation room for five minutes trying to get somebody to volunteer.
- 0:49Speaker 2: And I've never had Jerry duty before. I watch a
- 0:53Speaker 2: lot of crime shows and jury shows, so like, I
- 0:56Speaker 2: have a theoretical idea, and I also hate quiet. I'm
- 1:02Speaker 2: not good at quiet. Quiet is not my middlemre.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So so other than like other than audio books, I'm
- 1:12Speaker 1: guessing you always have something either in the background or
- 1:15Speaker 1: music or something.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Like we have been trying to cut down on
- 1:20Speaker 2: our like TV at dinner time. Now that mar is
- 1:23Speaker 2: like eating people food and stuff, we have now had
- 1:26Speaker 2: to put on music because like it's so quiet. Why
- 1:29Speaker 2: is it so quiet?
- 1:31Speaker 1: See, everybody calls me a freak because I drive home
- 1:37Speaker 1: if I'm not listening to an audiobook, I drive home
- 1:42Speaker 1: in complete silence.
- 1:44Speaker 2: You're Greek, didn't do yeah, especially with road rage.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Not only that not that I like, but like on
- 1:55Speaker 1: like even like long road trips, I can drive and
- 2:00Speaker 1: just complete silence. Abby hates it. Abbie hates it. She's like,
- 2:06Speaker 1: can I put some music on now, please? I'm like, yeah, sure,
- 2:09Speaker 1: I guess whatever.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I was having so much trouble paying attention, and I
- 2:15Speaker 2: was pulling out my crochet every time we were in
- 2:18Speaker 2: the deliberation room because fun fact, for objections, unlike what
- 2:21Speaker 2: you see in the courtroom, jury doesn't get to witness those.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Jury gets sent out. Yeah, So like I would pull
- 2:30Speaker 2: it out and the people with me were like, dude,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you should just pull it out in the courtroom. Like
- 2:36Speaker 2: I think it'll be fine. I was like, but some
- 2:38Speaker 2: people think it's rude. So I just sat there. I
- 2:45Speaker 2: requested a notepad and like all the people in Dury,
- 2:49Speaker 2: you're not gonna need a notepad. I was like, I
- 2:51Speaker 2: will need a notepad. And I just sat there like scribbling,
- 2:55Speaker 2: like just to try and stay focused. Also, I can
- 3:01Speaker 2: talk about the case, but we're not going to go
- 3:03Speaker 2: that far into it. But if you are going to
- 3:05Speaker 2: sue somebody for four hundred K, you should talk to
- 3:08Speaker 2: a lawyer and not represent yourself. That's my word of
- 3:11Speaker 2: advice from Jerry Duty. Oof.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Oh that's amazing. Yeah, but Star Wars we do have
- 3:25Speaker 1: some things to talk about. Not a lot, a lot
- 3:27Speaker 1: of little things, a lot of rumors, a lot of
- 3:29Speaker 1: little nuggets. But I think it'll be fun. The second
- 3:35Speaker 1: one not so much. I'm really interested in hearing your opinion.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But first point of news, Oscar Isaac is no longer
- 3:45Speaker 1: able to attend Star Wars celebration in Japan. Yes, now this.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Was his production schedule, I think.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Right, yeah, yeah, And so people are now making the assumption,
- 3:58Speaker 1: oh my gosh, Moonnight's going to be in the Avengers
- 4:02Speaker 1: movies and all this other stuff, and that quite possibly
- 4:05Speaker 1: is it? We know that Doomsday or right? Is it Doomsday? First? Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 1: Doomsday is recently ramping up on the production, and so
- 4:16Speaker 1: that means that they'll probably start filming soon. So it
- 4:20Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I feel like this is more potentially related to Beyond
- 4:25Speaker 2: the Spider Verse. We did get an updated date Beyond
- 4:27Speaker 2: the Spider Verse. Marble Alliance has talked.
- 4:29Speaker 1: To us about that. Yeah, that is also right, and.
- 4:33Speaker 2: We hadn't had a date for that. So if they
- 4:36Speaker 2: were like, hey, we want to brush this to get out.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I think the date's like summer twenty twenty seven, but
- 4:41Speaker 2: if they want to start going ahead and getting voices
- 4:44Speaker 2: for that, that makes sense because I feel like doomsday
- 4:49Speaker 2: it might be too soon for Moonnight to be in there,
- 4:51Speaker 2: because I know the rumor is that they're shooting in
- 4:55Speaker 2: blocks right, so Holland will be there in a couple
- 4:57Speaker 2: of weeks to film his stuff, A Spider Man, that
- 5:00Speaker 2: kind of thing. Hugh Jackman potentially like will be coming
- 5:06Speaker 2: in after his Broadway run. So I feel like this
- 5:10Speaker 2: is more this is not Moonnight because I feel like
- 5:13Speaker 2: Marvel has the shooting schedule planned out where he would
- 5:19Speaker 2: not have committed to this, or he because he committed
- 5:23Speaker 2: to this, I think like a year ago, but he
- 5:26Speaker 2: would have canceled a lot sooner had it been Pavengers.
- 5:34Speaker 2: So that that's what I'm thinking, And who knows, it
- 5:40Speaker 2: could also be because it wasn't production related and he
- 5:42Speaker 2: just decided.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I was like, nah, I'm not going yea, which would suck,
- 5:47Speaker 1: but I mean to each the road, you know, correct.
- 5:51Speaker 1: But the second point is there's there's two sides of
- 5:57Speaker 1: this coin. It is either oh God, this is amazing,
- 6:03Speaker 1: this is what I've always wanted. And then there is
- 6:07Speaker 1: why is this happening? So Katie, I want to know,
- 6:12Speaker 1: are you in between? Are you on one of those
- 6:15Speaker 1: sides of the coin? What is it? This news is
- 6:20Speaker 1: Lucasfilm is developing an animated Darth Maul Star Wars show. Now,
- 6:26Speaker 1: this is from Josh Din of Nerds. This isn't confirmed,
- 6:30Speaker 1: This isn't an announcement, This is just rumors. How do
- 6:36Speaker 1: you feel about this? If true?
- 6:39Speaker 2: So Din of Nerds, Josh is I When he was
- 6:45Speaker 2: running Din of Nerds, I always really considered him a
- 6:50Speaker 2: reliable source. I don't know how the sourcing is now
- 6:58Speaker 2: that he doesn't run Din of Nerds, but I used
- 7:02Speaker 2: to consider him a very reliable source. So I I
- 7:06Speaker 2: have good feels about this. I could also have mixed fields.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I don't know. With it being a Darth Maul Star
- 7:12Speaker 2: Wars show. Something that I have always wanted is a
- 7:17Speaker 2: Kira Mall show, because there is a Kira in where
- 7:22Speaker 2: the Bounty Hunters that is very different from the cure
- 7:25Speaker 2: we get in Solo, and I feel like that's the
- 7:27Speaker 2: smart move here is to tackle Hey, this is what
- 7:33Speaker 2: I know about the Sith. Hey, this is why we
- 7:36Speaker 2: should fight against the Sith like Mall training him her
- 7:43Speaker 2: to take his place basic Y and ultimately how Mall
- 7:50Speaker 2: falls from the head of Crimson Rain or not crimsom
- 7:56Speaker 2: Rain Crimson Dawn to where we get him and rebels
- 8:01Speaker 2: because he looks like a hobo. What vision did he see?
- 8:04Speaker 2: That was like, I must go to this ancient Sith
- 8:08Speaker 2: planet and getting you a printice akaay Ezra, Like where
- 8:13Speaker 2: did he go to get that? Like, that's the thing
- 8:16Speaker 2: I want. I do not want mal creates Crimson Don.
- 8:21Speaker 2: That is like the most pointless thing I think we
- 8:24Speaker 2: can get, even though we are getting Tales of the Underworld.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing that I yes, That's what I
- 8:34Speaker 1: was going to bring up in this overall conversation is
- 8:38Speaker 1: I think it's very like the the the smoke alarm
- 8:44Speaker 1: is going off, like, Okay, we just got the announcement
- 8:47Speaker 1: of Tales of the Underworld and now this is somehow rumored.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I feel like there is possibly something to this. Now,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I will admit I'm a little bit in between those
- 9:03Speaker 1: two faces of the coin that I talked about earlier,
- 9:05Speaker 1: because I am like every dude bro out there who
- 9:12Speaker 1: loves Star Wars. It's like Oh my god, Darth Maul
- 9:15Speaker 1: has two blades on a light sever you know, because
- 9:19Speaker 1: I mean I grew up where freaking Phantom Menace. The
- 9:26Speaker 1: Phantom Menace was the literally the first Star Wars movie
- 9:29Speaker 1: I saw in theaters. Yep, so like it has a
- 9:34Speaker 1: special place in my heart. Is it the greatest Star
- 9:36Speaker 1: Wars movie ever? No, but it just has that nostalgia.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Listening to duel the Fates for the very first time
- 9:44Speaker 1: on the big screen changed my life, Like it is
- 9:49Speaker 1: just amazing.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna I have, sorry, Clay, I have to do
- 9:55Speaker 2: my due diligence here and just remind everyone that I
- 9:59Speaker 2: was too young to go see you were the prequel trilogy.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So I was eight when Revenge of the Sith came out.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Okay, So Revenge of the Sith is on twentieth anniversary,
- 10:14Speaker 1: so that means that.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I would have been ten, actually, because you're Nisary.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Okay, So Phantom Menace was nineteen ninety nine, so you
- 10:23Speaker 1: were born you were four? Okay, Okay, Sorry.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I just had to do my due diligence and remind.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Everybody I was in nineteen ninety nine. I was wait,
- 10:37Speaker 1: hold on, math, I was seven. So but yeah, uh,
- 10:48Speaker 1: so I will always love Dartha, and of course I
- 10:51Speaker 1: have grown to love him even more and hate him
- 10:56Speaker 1: and or hate him because of the character growth that
- 11:00Speaker 1: has happened through Clone Wars, through Rebels, through the comics
- 11:08Speaker 1: that are out there for him. I do believe that
- 11:14Speaker 1: there is a huge possibility that we will get breadcrumbs
- 11:19Speaker 1: in Tales of the Underworld to lead up to whatever
- 11:24Speaker 1: this may be.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah, like this is the main continuity animation show.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it's taking over.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Now. We know that. In both the Tales of the
- 11:43Speaker 1: Jedi and then Tales of the Empire, those have been
- 11:50Speaker 1: anthology anthology adjacent. Yes, I would say, because there's one
- 11:56Speaker 1: story going on and then a whole nother story happens
- 12:00Speaker 1: that are somewhat connected, but just tell us an overall like, Hey,
- 12:07Speaker 1: these are just you know, tales of you know. So
- 12:11Speaker 1: that's how I think we can get what was stown
- 12:18Speaker 1: to us in the trailers while also leading up to
- 12:22Speaker 1: whatever this may be. Okay, that's what I think.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I could totally see that too. Tales of the
- 12:33Speaker 2: the Tales of series has definitely been anthology adjacent.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I would still say.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It's still an anthology, but it's also like they're they're
- 12:48Speaker 2: feeling in areas, so like Morgan Elsbeth's story, like Barrius
- 12:58Speaker 2: is like giving you those spillins because a lot of
- 13:00Speaker 2: people there's a certain area of the fandom which is
- 13:02Speaker 2: a good area. Who's like what happened to Barris? Like
- 13:06Speaker 2: Barris deserved better basically, so I feel like that's what
- 13:10Speaker 2: that was for. But also filling in that blank in
- 13:14Speaker 2: count Tuku's area because the Ahsoka stuff was Dave Filoni
- 13:19Speaker 2: wanted to tell it a story, but Doku, especially with
- 13:24Speaker 2: the Yattle death, like that's a big thing there. I
- 13:28Speaker 2: feel like that was not so it was like filling
- 13:32Speaker 2: in some blanks, but it's still capable. I'm just hearkening
- 13:38Speaker 2: back to what Adrian said where he was like, yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 2: like it can be connected, but sometimes it isn't. So
- 13:46Speaker 2: that makes me wonder, Okay, would this be him building
- 13:50Speaker 2: Crimson non because technically we do get that with like
- 13:55Speaker 2: bad Batch and like the last little bit of Clone
- 13:58Speaker 2: Wars was season seven, so it like I'm hit or miss.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Basically, Yeah, I could also see like I what I
- 14:15Speaker 1: what I don't need is and I know, like it's
- 14:21Speaker 1: hard to not do this because of the character of
- 14:25Speaker 1: Darth Maul.
- 14:26Speaker 2: All right, y'all, we are gonna hit our first ad
- 14:29Speaker 2: break and we will be right back in three two one.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I don't want there to be an animated show for
- 14:38Speaker 1: Darth Maul just for the sake that it's Darth Maul.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Like I need there to be purpose to this story, correct,
- 14:46Speaker 1: And that's.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Where I think the Kira story would open up a
- 14:51Speaker 2: lot of doors because we know and everybody can always
- 14:54Speaker 2: and I've said this before, Okay, I will admit I've
- 14:57Speaker 2: said this before. We know where the character in up.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't need to see the journey. But in this case,
- 15:03Speaker 2: I feel like Kira is enough of an interesting character
- 15:07Speaker 2: and she hasn't been present since Solo really well.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And that's the thing, because we have this like ongoing
- 15:19Speaker 1: I was gonna say argument, but it's not really an
- 15:21Speaker 1: argument between us. It's like us yelling into the void
- 15:25Speaker 1: of like, hey, these comics matter, Hey, these books matter, hey,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but nobody's really going after those things when you look
- 15:34Speaker 1: at the entirety of the Star Wars fandom. So I
- 15:39Speaker 1: think Lucasfilm knows this, I know Disney knows this. So
- 15:44Speaker 1: how do we get Kira in a more I guess
- 15:54Speaker 1: how do we get Kira's story out there without having
- 15:57Speaker 1: to do a huge production in live action? Well, Star
- 16:02Speaker 1: Wars has been really successful with the animation, Let's do
- 16:06Speaker 1: it this way. And the one thing that kind of
- 16:09Speaker 1: irks me about this because I've thought about this also
- 16:13Speaker 1: because the Crimson Dawn thing did come to mind, but
- 16:16Speaker 1: I kind of brushed it off and I was like,
- 16:19Speaker 1: do we really need that? Because again, do we really
- 16:21Speaker 1: need the journey? But again, but I think what would
- 16:26Speaker 1: probably irk me a little bit more. It's like they're
- 16:30Speaker 1: advertising it as a Darth Maul series right this this
- 16:33Speaker 1: post is but what if the overall story is Kira
- 16:39Speaker 1: and Crimson Dawn and they're just like, oh, but we
- 16:44Speaker 1: need a better draw let's bring in Darth Maul. Like
- 16:49Speaker 1: that would kind of like, I know, when you look
- 16:54Speaker 1: at two characters, there's gonna be a bigger audience for
- 17:00Speaker 1: Darth maulm.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Especially with Sam Whitware. Especially, Ah, what no, because I
- 17:09Speaker 2: wouldn't even really want that. What if it was like
- 17:13Speaker 2: a survivalist show like Kira is on the run after
- 17:17Speaker 2: where the Bounty Hunters it's a sequel era it enables
- 17:20Speaker 2: them to tie her in potentially to the Air to
- 17:24Speaker 2: the Empire movie with Dave Filoni potentially, Oh, I didn't
- 17:29Speaker 2: think about that, and it was like she's trying to
- 17:32Speaker 2: rebuild her connections in the underworld and like reviving Crimson Dawn,
- 17:39Speaker 2: and so she gets flashbacks to Darth Maul and then
- 17:45Speaker 2: they could potentially even tie in sequel trilogy stuff where
- 17:47Speaker 2: Mall happens to mention like Exegall or something like.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I would be okay with that. I think I would
- 17:56Speaker 1: be okay with that. Again, I don't know how. I
- 18:01Speaker 1: feel like a lot of people would be like, oh,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you tricked us. You said this was going to be
- 18:04Speaker 1: a Darth Maul show, and it's it's this yourra show,
- 18:09Speaker 1: Like I never asked for this, but I would personally
- 18:13Speaker 1: like it.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Well, And the biggest thing right out of this is
- 18:17Speaker 2: that this may be a rumor where they're developing something
- 18:19Speaker 2: and they want to track down a source, like who
- 18:23Speaker 2: they know Mal is going to get out there quick,
- 18:26Speaker 2: so they're trying to track down who's leaking information.
- 18:29Speaker 3: So that could be this.
- 18:30Speaker 2: But like you said, Mal grabs the most attention out
- 18:34Speaker 2: of anybody in a potential animated segment right now, So
- 18:40Speaker 2: is this a Haylet's put out feelers. But also, is
- 18:44Speaker 2: this a Kira show that just happens to have Mal
- 18:49Speaker 2: attached to it? And Mal is the thing that cutstorm?
- 18:52Speaker 2: Because remember, everything and anything is clickbait depending on who
- 18:56Speaker 2: the source is. Yep, so uh this is a late
- 19:02Speaker 2: and see hopefully we will find out in two weeks.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully hopefully. But Katie, why don't you share? I
- 19:12Speaker 1: feel like it's almost the biggest news for us.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I so, okay, so Collider dropped this information, and I
- 19:22Speaker 2: am going to share the physical Star Wars books video
- 19:27Speaker 2: and we're just gonna watch it over and over again
- 19:29Speaker 2: because this is fucking gorgeous. Okay, I'm gonna second like okay,
- 19:37Speaker 2: oh hang on, we don't want the volume because I
- 19:39Speaker 2: need to be able to hear Clay. Okay, all right,
- 19:42Speaker 2: going back to the beginning, so we have a beautiful
- 19:45Speaker 2: cover with oh my gosh, this does not like me.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Oh okay. On the back here is the opening krawl
- 19:56Speaker 2: to Revenge of the Sith, which Matthew Stover did an
- 20:03Speaker 2: incredible job with this. Seriously, y'all, if you have not
- 20:06Speaker 2: read this book, this is your reason to pick up
- 20:09Speaker 2: this book.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Also, Katie was so excited she did not say what
- 20:14Speaker 1: we were talking about. This is Star Wars Revenge of
- 20:18Speaker 1: the Sith, a deluxe edition for the twentieth anniversary of
- 20:24Speaker 1: Revenge of the Sith.
- 20:25Speaker 2: My apologies.
- 20:26Speaker 1: This is, of course the notion. Of course, this is
- 20:29Speaker 1: the novelization, which is a book I have never read,
- 20:34Speaker 1: but everybody in the entire world has said, hey, did
- 20:38Speaker 1: you note that the Star Wars novelization is almost better
- 20:42Speaker 1: than Revenge of the Sith.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Is fucking better. I'm not even choking, Like this is
- 20:49Speaker 2: like legendary. When Shadow of this Sith used this crawl,
- 20:56Speaker 2: I died, I died and went to heaven, like.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Don't Here's the question, though, do you think they are
- 21:06Speaker 1: also going to drop a new edition of the audiobook?
- 21:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it would be pretty cool.
- 21:22Speaker 2: That would make sense. Hang on, let me look at Audible,
- 21:25Speaker 2: because I don't think this novelization Revenge of the Okay,
- 21:33Speaker 2: it has a full audiobook by Jonathan Davis.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Okay, which was.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Released in January of seven, So with Jonathan Davis having
- 21:45Speaker 2: narrated the audiobook, I would almost say it's probably not
- 21:49Speaker 2: getting a new audiobook, But like, okay, we got Revenge
- 21:59Speaker 2: of the Sith novelization opening crawl. Okay, that's not what
- 22:07Speaker 2: I wanted.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Okay, hang on, I gotta grab a book because I
- 22:10Speaker 3: got this.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But either way, guys, I also have this Star Wars
- 22:18Speaker 1: Books video circling. It is gorgeous. Okay, this thing is
- 22:28Speaker 1: absolutely gorgeous. When you take off the cover, the slip cover,
- 22:35Speaker 1: it is freaking uh uh from the movie.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And so it's on the actual hardcover so
- 22:46Speaker 2: that the book jacket is acetate. They did new end
- 22:51Speaker 2: cover art pieces with Anakin and Padme on the front
- 22:55Speaker 2: one and then theater getting created well on the back ones.
- 23:02Speaker 2: The most exciting thing about this I think Tom said
- 23:05Speaker 2: there's over one hundred and seventy annotations. This video says
- 23:08Speaker 2: over one hundred and fifty. It ended up being closer
- 23:10Speaker 2: to one hundred and seventy, which, if y'all know me
- 23:15Speaker 2: my Air to the Empire annotated twentieth anniversary book. I
- 23:21Speaker 2: love that I read that thing to pieces like getting
- 23:26Speaker 2: to hear from the author is kind of epic. So yes,
- 23:34Speaker 2: this is everything it comes with. If you're watching it
- 23:36Speaker 2: here on YouTube, I had that pause. It is available
- 23:39Speaker 2: October fourteenth, twenty twenty five. And this is available to everyone.
- 23:45Speaker 2: This is not a limited edition, This is not going
- 23:48Speaker 2: to New York Comic Con or Star Wars celebration like
- 23:51Speaker 2: this is available for everyone. So very legendary in my opinion.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I am going to pre order this as soon as possible.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't know if it's available.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Order, I believe, so okay, so yeah, I won't have
- 24:17Speaker 4: to worry about getting it late because my stupid bookstore
- 24:22Speaker 4: closes or is.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Closed on Tuesdays. But I will probably immediately start reading this. Katie,
- 24:35Speaker 1: you have created a monster. I just want you to
- 24:37Speaker 1: know this. This past week I was I literally last
- 24:44Speaker 1: week I have I've been using the app that you
- 24:50Speaker 1: introduced me to Fable to notate the books that I'm
- 24:55Speaker 1: reading and everything else. Last week I was reading four
- 24:58Speaker 1: books at once. I've never done that before. My brain
- 25:06Speaker 1: is mush and I have started to scan read as well.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I don't know the same person. I don't know the
- 25:17Speaker 1: person that is sitting in this chair. I don't know
- 25:20Speaker 1: who he is, but he is a monster.
- 25:23Speaker 3: I'm watching your transformation. I'm so proud.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Okay, so I have so my mom. Uh this is
- 25:31Speaker 2: another thing that pissed me off. I had a first
- 25:33Speaker 2: edition Revenge of the Sith hardcover book. My mom got
- 25:39Speaker 2: rid of it, didn't keep it for me, like she
- 25:42Speaker 2: knew I had all this over here for my Legends collection.
- 25:46Speaker 3: She got rid of.
- 25:46Speaker 2: It doesn't exist anymore. Well, I'm sure it exists somewhere,
- 25:50Speaker 2: but it's in somebody else's library.
- 25:52Speaker 1: A speaking of books that I didn't think existed anymore.
- 25:56Speaker 1: But I'll talk to I'll talk about that later. You
- 25:58Speaker 1: keep going.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Okay, So this is my paperback, which is pristine because
- 26:02Speaker 2: I have this book in so many different editions. So
- 26:07Speaker 2: I was going to read this for Clay, but now
- 26:09Speaker 2: I'm going to make him. Oh here, he is cool,
- 26:12Speaker 2: because I need to read this for Clay, because this
- 26:14Speaker 2: is how legendary this is. Okay, So the opening crawl,
- 26:19Speaker 2: this just makes my skin taintle Okay. This story happened
- 26:21Speaker 2: a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
- 26:25Speaker 2: It is already over. Nothing can be done to change it.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It is a.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Story of love and loss, brotherhood and betrayal, courage and
- 26:34Speaker 2: sacrifice in the death of dreams. It is a story
- 26:38Speaker 2: of the blurred line between our best and our worst.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Oh chills.
- 26:43Speaker 2: It is the story of the end of an age,
- 26:47Speaker 2: a strange thing about stories. Though this all happened so
- 26:51Speaker 2: long ago and so far away that words cannot describe
- 26:54Speaker 2: the time or the distance. It is also happening right now,
- 26:59Speaker 2: right here. Ooh, this is how twenty five millennia come
- 27:05Speaker 2: to a close. Oh wait, hang on, I'm sorry, I
- 27:07Speaker 2: skipped a line. It is happening as you read these words.
- 27:10Speaker 2: This is how twenty five millennia come to a close.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Corruption and treasury have crushed one thousand years of peace.
- 27:18Speaker 2: This is not just the end of a republic. Night
- 27:21Speaker 2: is falling on civilization itself. This is the twilight of
- 27:25Speaker 2: the Jedi. The end starts now.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Oo.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I'm so excited to read this again.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I am. I am so excited about this twentieth anniversary
- 27:42Speaker 1: book because I have genuinely been contemplating because every single time, Katie,
- 27:51Speaker 1: every single time I open Audible, it is right there.
- 27:59Speaker 1: It's like you could just read it, you could listen
- 28:01Speaker 1: to it. You can do it. Which, don't get me wrong, guys,
- 28:04Speaker 1: I'm the kind of person that doesn't just buy the audiobook.
- 28:08Speaker 1: If I like the book enough, I will go buy
- 28:10Speaker 1: the book. I will listen to it, then I will
- 28:13Speaker 1: buy the book. And then I will listen to it
- 28:15Speaker 1: as I'm actually looking at the book and reading it
- 28:18Speaker 1: along with the narrator. But this one, again, you've said
- 28:24Speaker 1: it's better than the movie. Joe has said it's better
- 28:26Speaker 1: than the movie. I've talked to two other people that
- 28:29Speaker 1: have said that it's better than the movie. I'm like, Okay,
- 28:32Speaker 1: I know that this is going to be on my list.
- 28:35Speaker 1: When did I purchase this book? And lo and behold,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I had no idea this was going to be announced.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I had no idea this was going to be a thing.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Now that it is going to be a thing, I
- 28:48Speaker 1: am one hundred percent going to get it.
- 28:51Speaker 2: We know one hundred percent be reviewing this guys, and
- 28:56Speaker 2: we will probably do an episode just on the book
- 28:59Speaker 2: so that we can get like a read through from it.
- 29:02Speaker 2: But then once we both get the deluxe editions, we
- 29:04Speaker 2: will probably do another episode to talk about all of
- 29:08Speaker 2: the different annotations involved. Because Stfer is just an artist
- 29:13Speaker 2: and this book means a lot to so many people,
- 29:16Speaker 2: and it really, truly, I cannot say this enough, is
- 29:20Speaker 2: the gold standard when it comes to novelizations.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah, but also just want to notate speaking of books
- 29:30Speaker 1: that you know probably don't exist anymore. I sent a
- 29:34Speaker 1: picture to Katie. I went to a random literally a
- 29:37Speaker 1: random bookstore in my town, probably the smallest bookstore. Weirdly enough,
- 29:45Speaker 1: it was the smallest largest bookstore I've ever seen. It
- 29:49Speaker 1: was like walking into the freaking Tartist. It like looks
- 29:54Speaker 1: smaller on the outside, and then when I went in
- 29:57Speaker 1: it was huge. And then it had a basement of
- 30:01Speaker 1: like six rows of nothing but books, and I was like.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Oh, not a basement.
- 30:08Speaker 1: But I found the Jedi Academy books.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Oh those don't even have the Legends banners on them,
- 30:16Speaker 2: do they? I saw in the picture, but I didn't
- 30:20Speaker 2: realize they didn't have the Ledgends banner.
- 30:22Speaker 1: You got a good fine. So well, I found the
- 30:25Speaker 1: second one, and that's what I took a picture of
- 30:28Speaker 1: to show Katie. And then literally I just turned my
- 30:32Speaker 1: head and I saw the other two and I was like,
- 30:35Speaker 1: holy crap, I need to get the rest of these.
- 30:38Speaker 1: They were two bucks a pop. So I only spent
- 30:43Speaker 1: six bucks on this entire trilogy. Now, if you look
- 30:48Speaker 1: for those who are actually on YouTube watching this, these
- 30:51Speaker 1: books have been loved and they're old, so they're gonna
- 30:54Speaker 1: have a little bit of the yellow pages and everything else. Yep.
- 30:58Speaker 1: When they decide to make the essential Legend Legends, yeah,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I will be getting those as well and probably replacing these.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Now that doesn't mean that I'm going to give these away.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I thought in my mind, Hey, this is probably the
- 31:16Speaker 1: first and last time I will see these three books
- 31:20Speaker 1: together in one spot, so I need to pick them up.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So that's what I did.
- 31:26Speaker 2: We're gonna go into our second ad break and we'll
- 31:30Speaker 2: be right back.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Our next piece of news is that, oh and I
- 31:40Speaker 1: actually had a little bit of fun with this one. Uh.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Jody Comer is in talks for a role in Sean
- 31:49Speaker 1: Levy's Star Wars film, starring with Ryan Goslin.
- 31:53Speaker 2: This is not unusual in Star Wars. Clearly Andy Serkis,
- 31:57Speaker 2: who we're going to talk about tonight, has had multiple roles.
- 32:03Speaker 2: I think there's probably three others, including Mark Hamill himself,
- 32:08Speaker 2: who have had multiple roles in Star Wars. Judy Kuhmer,
- 32:12Speaker 2: as everybody may or may not be aware, played Ray's
- 32:16Speaker 2: mother in the flashback seen in the Rise of Skywalker,
- 32:22Speaker 2: not really on camera enough to catch a full glimpse
- 32:26Speaker 2: of her face. In my opinion, it was it was quick,
- 32:29Speaker 2: it was its blinkings. So to me, I realistically could
- 32:36Speaker 2: see her coming back as a human in Star Wars.
- 32:41Speaker 2: But it's fully realistic that she could be twileg she
- 32:46Speaker 2: could be motion capture anything she wants. I'm fine with this,
- 32:54Speaker 2: I think. Also because she was in Free Guy with Gossly.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, I heard things about that three Guy was
- 33:08Speaker 1: Brian Reynolds.
- 33:09Speaker 2: You're right, I had the I had the Ron Ryan
- 33:12Speaker 2: because there's Fall Guy, the Stunt one Ye, which was Gossling,
- 33:16Speaker 2: and then there's Free Guy, which is Reynolds. So yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 2: I have no idea how their chemistry work. But that's
- 33:24Speaker 2: also not to say that she could be on screen
- 33:27Speaker 2: with him. She could be a minor character or whatnot.
- 33:32Speaker 1: So I immediately said, holy crap, we're getting Race Skywalker
- 33:37Speaker 1: flashbacks from when she's a child. And then I connected
- 33:41Speaker 1: the dots from there and I said, holy shit, Ryan
- 33:43Speaker 1: Gosling is a Palpatine clowne. They are They are reck
- 33:48Speaker 1: conning that one random dude in the flashback, and Ryan
- 33:51Speaker 1: Gosling is now the father of Race Gywalker. Boom, there
- 33:56Speaker 1: you go.
- 33:58Speaker 2: You could see an adaptation of Shadow the Sith.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I wish, Oh my god.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Because that's where their story is right.
- 34:08Speaker 1: So yeah, technically, I guess.
- 34:10Speaker 2: So what's interesting here is so Jesse Plemons has been
- 34:17Speaker 2: offered to play the villain in Sean Levy Star Wars film.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Katie, now that you say it, Jesse
- 34:27Speaker 1: would be almost perfect for that villain in Shadow of
- 34:35Speaker 1: the Sith. Almost yeah. Now, guys, I don't know if
- 34:43Speaker 1: you were a fan of uh Jesse Plemons at all. Uh.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I've seen him a lot growing up. He is a
- 34:55Speaker 1: little bit older than us. He was you know, he
- 35:00Speaker 1: grew up as like a kid star teenager and he
- 35:04Speaker 1: just you know, boomed. I think one of the biggest
- 35:10Speaker 1: roles that I saw him in that like really was like,
- 35:13Speaker 1: holy crap, this guy has ranged was breaking bad. And
- 35:19Speaker 1: that's also when I was like, oh, he might be
- 35:23Speaker 1: the stereotypical bad guy moving on from this and that's
- 35:27Speaker 1: kind of what he's been so far. Now. He has
- 35:30Speaker 1: had some like out of the ordinary, like funny roles
- 35:34Speaker 1: like I think Game Night is one that is somewhat
- 35:39Speaker 1: like just an oddball character that he's an autoball character in.
- 35:44Speaker 1: But thinking of him as a villain, I could also
- 35:51Speaker 1: I could very much see him as a Imperial like
- 35:58Speaker 1: I could see him in the suit and barking orders
- 36:02Speaker 1: like one. I can see him doing that as well.
- 36:05Speaker 2: So, so you want to know the only things that
- 36:08Speaker 2: I've seen him in.
- 36:10Speaker 1: What what? What have you seen Jesse? Yet?
- 36:14Speaker 3: You're gonna laugh?
- 36:15Speaker 2: Oh no, it is his two thousand and six guest
- 36:21Speaker 2: star appearances Craze, Anatomy and in CIS. I've seen every
- 36:31Speaker 2: episode of those shows. That doesn't mean that I've remembered
- 36:35Speaker 2: how he acted in those episodes. I've just seen every episode.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Of those.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Yeah. No, see, let me actually say, I know you're
- 36:47Speaker 1: the movie person, so I'm going to actually I'm the.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Movie person who hasn't seen movies.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, but let's see here Jesse clements. Okay,
- 37:01Speaker 1: So I highly recommend Game Night because it's absolutely hilarious.
- 37:08Speaker 1: But I would also say that you should watch what
- 37:17Speaker 1: else was he Oh my gosh, maybe I haven't seen
- 37:28Speaker 1: a whole lot of stuff. Or again, it's most likely
- 37:32Speaker 1: his like early early stuff that I had seen. Yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 1: this was like when he was a kid. Yeah, So honestly,
- 37:44Speaker 1: I would say Game Night. Game Night is like, it's
- 37:50Speaker 1: not what I would expect for him to be in
- 37:53Speaker 1: Star Wars so I would say watch Game Night, and
- 37:58Speaker 1: then if your stomach is up for it, I would
- 38:04Speaker 1: say watch Silver War. Because I have.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Heard, I've heard good things and bad things.
- 38:09Speaker 1: That he is. He has a a good performance for
- 38:13Speaker 1: his character in that movie.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Mm hmm yeah. Mostly. So. The next bit of news
- 38:23Speaker 2: that we have, which I consider this to be fairly pioneer,
- 38:28Speaker 2: Jim Cummings, who voices Hondo Onaka has a real but
- 38:32Speaker 2: he's done facial recognition for Hondo in an upcoming Star
- 38:36Speaker 2: Wars project. The answer I think to this is Outlaws,
- 38:46Speaker 2: because he's supposed to be in a DLC.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Oh I was like, Outlaws, what you talked about the
- 38:53Speaker 1: video game? That is very true. I completely forgot that
- 38:59Speaker 1: he was supposed to be in the DLC for that game.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I would say either that or he did it a
- 39:10Speaker 1: while ago and he's just now saying something because he's
- 39:13Speaker 1: gonna show up in Tales of the Underground. I could
- 39:19Speaker 1: see that.
- 39:19Speaker 2: But also, why would he do facial recognition for animation?
- 39:25Speaker 1: I mean because nowadays they do it all the time
- 39:28Speaker 1: with these type and I.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Don't think they do that for Clone Wars though, and
- 39:35Speaker 2: they already have uh an animation body for Honda in
- 39:41Speaker 2: Clone Wars format.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Well, I guess so. I mean, because I guess the
- 39:45Speaker 1: only time that we really saw them, like really heavily
- 39:52Speaker 1: get into the type of CGI facial recognition motion capture
- 39:58Speaker 1: was in the last season, specifically the fight with Darth Ball,
- 40:02Speaker 1: and I think.
- 40:03Speaker 2: That's the only time they used it was because they
- 40:06Speaker 2: wanted that fight to appear more realistic.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so I could see that. That's very true. But yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 1: either that or of course, what I believe everybody is
- 40:18Speaker 1: kind of going towards because of the way they presented it.
- 40:23Speaker 1: In this tweet, you see a picture of Hondo and
- 40:26Speaker 1: then you see a picture of everybody in all of
- 40:29Speaker 1: the live action Disney Plus shows. Everyone's like, oh my gosh,
- 40:33Speaker 1: Hondo's coming to live action, Like it's gonna be amazing.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I don't know if it again clickbait. Yeah, yeah, we
- 40:46Speaker 1: thought we thought there might be a chance in Skeleton Crew.
- 40:53Speaker 2: If he wasn't in Skeleton Crew, the next place I
- 40:57Speaker 2: see him potentially is aired to the Empire.
- 41:00Speaker 1: You could even.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Potentially say Ahsoka season two, but I don't think he
- 41:05Speaker 2: would be doing motion tracking for Honda that early and
- 41:09Speaker 2: they would have him like on set and then do
- 41:12Speaker 2: motion capture.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I feel like, yeah, maybe, but again I do think
- 41:20Speaker 1: that it would be more so or that of a
- 41:24Speaker 1: video game like you presented with Outlaws or some sort
- 41:29Speaker 1: of animation. So that's what I think. Either way, Knowing
- 41:34Speaker 1: that there's more Honda out there, I think is a
- 41:37Speaker 1: good thing, correct Hondo. The last piece of news is
- 41:46Speaker 1: one that me, Katie and the rest of the GUA
- 41:50Speaker 1: have actually kind of vented our frustrations out today. We're
- 41:57Speaker 1: excited about it. Don't get me wrong, we are excited
- 41:59Speaker 1: about it. But we have the confirmed and or season
- 42:03Speaker 1: two run times for all twelve episodes.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm gonna be so tired.
- 42:12Speaker 1: These are going in order from the first episode to
- 42:15Speaker 1: the twelfth episode. I'm just gonna name them off and
- 42:17Speaker 1: we'll go talk about it. Fifty one minutes, forty three minutes,
- 42:21Speaker 1: fifty three minutes, fifty four minutes, fifty four minutes, fifty
- 42:24Speaker 1: four minutes, forty four minutes, forty seven minutes, fifty eight minutes,
- 42:28Speaker 1: forty eight minutes, forty two minutes, forty six minutes. Katie,
- 42:34Speaker 1: I want to be so tired, genuinely. I think the
- 42:40Speaker 1: way that I'm going to break this down for my sanity.
- 42:47Speaker 1: When the three episodes drop on Tuesday, I'm going to
- 42:53Speaker 1: watch the first episode. I'm then going to go to sleep.
- 42:59Speaker 1: I am going to wake up early and watch the
- 43:02Speaker 1: second episode, and then i will watch the third episode
- 43:07Speaker 1: literally before we record.
- 43:10Speaker 3: We may be recording like eight pm.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Guys. Yeah, it is going to be a little rough.
- 43:16Speaker 1: And let me remind you guys, unless the announcement is, hey,
- 43:26Speaker 1: this said show is getting an X amount of seasons,
- 43:30Speaker 1: or hey new Star Wars movie for the next four
- 43:35Speaker 1: weeks with and or it is nothing but andle we're
- 43:39Speaker 1: starting with and or we're ending with and or we're
- 43:42Speaker 1: cutting off the episode.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Literally because I mean three hours. I mean we are
- 43:47Speaker 2: literally looking at two hours and fifteen minutes, probably just
- 43:51Speaker 2: two and a half hours per week of showtime because
- 43:55Speaker 2: you know, like there's credit time and everything. So this
- 43:58Speaker 2: is not like fully legit it times and whatnot, but
- 44:02Speaker 2: it's still a lot of television and it is insane
- 44:07Speaker 2: to drop this at nine pm. This really makes me
- 44:10Speaker 2: lean towards now. I can't even say that because I
- 44:15Speaker 2: do think the awards sentiment for this show is legit
- 44:19Speaker 2: where they want to get it in in time. For
- 44:21Speaker 2: the Emmy nominations time period, so the show doesn't get
- 44:24Speaker 2: forgotten when it comes down to award season. But this
- 44:29Speaker 2: really makes me feel like, hey, we're shoving this into
- 44:32Speaker 2: a corner so we don't have to think about it
- 44:35Speaker 2: after a month. Like that's what this feels like. And
- 44:38Speaker 2: we're about to jump into our third ad.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Y'all.
- 44:42Speaker 2: We promise we'll be right back. We promise. I'm excited.
- 44:47Speaker 2: We can still bitch about it, that's legit. I tell
- 44:52Speaker 2: my mom all the time. I will bitch about something,
- 44:54Speaker 2: but I still gotta do it.
- 44:57Speaker 1: When this was announced, me and you were like, we
- 45:00Speaker 1: get a movie a week. This is gonna be great.
- 45:03Speaker 1: And then when they actually break it down, you're like,
- 45:06Speaker 1: oh shit, we get a movie every fucking week.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Basically. And now, like I was still hesitating at beginning,
- 45:14Speaker 2: don't tell me I was excited because like I go
- 45:16Speaker 2: to bed, like I'm already yawning and it's eight twenty guys,
- 45:21Speaker 2: I'm so tired.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Oh so.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we will see and y'all, there may
- 45:31Speaker 2: be like we're gonna have extra episodes, like our Star
- 45:33Speaker 2: Wars celebration episode will be in a separate episode. We
- 45:37Speaker 2: have book reviews coming that will be in separate episodes,
- 45:41Speaker 2: but like legitimately unless it's like breaking news, this all
- 45:45Speaker 2: we're talking about YEP in the live episodes point, like yeah.
- 45:52Speaker 1: And speaking of book reviews, like that's the whole rate,
- 45:55Speaker 1: like a little behind the veil here, guys. Me and
- 45:59Speaker 1: Katie have like the next two weeks worth of weekends
- 46:04Speaker 1: booked for future recordings because we know that next month
- 46:09Speaker 1: is going to be swamped.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Like we have three episodes dropping the first
- 46:16Speaker 2: week of Antwerp because the embargo for Acolyte Wet Seeker
- 46:22Speaker 2: drops because of Star Wars celebration. Then we have Star
- 46:26Speaker 2: Wars Celebration, which we got to talk about Star Wars Celebration,
- 46:30Speaker 2: and then we have Antwerp.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so you.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Know, we're blessed. We are blessed in terms of being
- 46:38Speaker 2: able to cover this stuff, but we can be tired blessed.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's it's gonna be And I assume I'm
- 46:56Speaker 1: already going to assume, like Katie said, hey, we might
- 46:59Speaker 1: be recording at eight o'clock because there might be days
- 47:04Speaker 1: where again, Katie's a new mom. I have a raging
- 47:08Speaker 1: two year old that thinks she's thirty like it. We
- 47:14Speaker 1: have lives outside of the podcast, so they may get
- 47:18Speaker 1: in the way and we'll be like, oh crap, I
- 47:21Speaker 1: still need to watch the last episode. I still have
- 47:23Speaker 1: another fifteen minutes on it, and we may have to
- 47:26Speaker 1: jump on a little late. It's just the way it's
- 47:29Speaker 1: going to be.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Because we want to give these episodes their due diligence
- 47:33Speaker 2: and cover them properly, so it will be what it
- 47:38Speaker 2: will be. But I also have a first birthday to plan,
- 47:42Speaker 2: Like I have to buy decorations in like bake a
- 47:44Speaker 2: cake and stuff. So yeah, holy crap, I feel old.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I'm turning thirty this year. Yeah, deluxe edition comes out
- 47:59Speaker 2: the day after my third with birthday. Happy birthday to me.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's true. But guys, uh, that is it
- 48:11Speaker 1: for the news. But speaking of Vandor, we aren't going
- 48:17Speaker 1: to do a small little recap, I'll be completely honest.
- 48:24Speaker 1: I watched the first episode, and then I watched the
- 48:27Speaker 1: No Way Out episode. I watched the season one recap
- 48:32Speaker 1: that is actually on Disney Plus. It is a fourteen
- 48:36Speaker 1: minute recap that doesn't really tell you anything. It's literally
- 48:41Speaker 1: just clips of every single episode in a range of
- 48:45Speaker 1: fourteen minutes.
- 48:46Speaker 2: We were supposed to be reviewing Edge of Balance Premonition
- 48:50Speaker 2: today because it came out yesterday. I just oh, no, huh.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I said, I still need to order that.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Oh no, spoiler alert. This was probably my favorite of
- 49:04Speaker 2: the series so far.
- 49:05Speaker 1: I'm really excited to get to get to it when.
- 49:08Speaker 2: We review it. Clay needs to go ahead and read
- 49:12Speaker 2: it before Valiant Val because it answers some of his questions.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I'm just gonna leave it at that.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I'm excited.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Value Vow comes out in a sixth by the way,
- 49:28Speaker 2: so you have a month. So we were supposed to
- 49:33Speaker 2: be reviewing Premonition Edge of Balance Premonition, and I said,
- 49:39Speaker 2: you know what, we've been doing a ship ton of
- 49:41Speaker 2: reading recently. I'm gonna switch it to and or season
- 49:45Speaker 2: once it's Clay didn't get a chance to talk about
- 49:48Speaker 2: some of the episodes because he was on paternity to leave. Yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 2: watch all the episodes.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Well, yeah, there's there's no excuse. Like again, we've been
- 50:01Speaker 1: doing recording over the weekend. So we talked about this
- 50:03Speaker 1: over the weekend and I was like, you know what,
- 50:06Speaker 1: I should probably start that today. Didn't even look at
- 50:10Speaker 1: the TV that day, So Monday came around and I
- 50:15Speaker 1: started episode one, and then work got really busy, and
- 50:24Speaker 1: then I actually had to do like labor at my job,
- 50:27Speaker 1: which is not usually something that I do. I have
- 50:29Speaker 1: an office job, but sometimes I have to go out
- 50:31Speaker 1: to the warehouse. Tuesday, like almost all day I was
- 50:34Speaker 1: in the warehouse, so I was kind of pussy about that.
- 50:39Speaker 1: And then today I got to finish episode one and
- 50:42Speaker 1: then watch The wayeh and.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Favorite episode of the season.
- 50:53Speaker 1: It's absolutely amazing. And I'm not going to say that
- 50:58Speaker 1: No Way Out in bodies the season, even though I
- 51:04Speaker 1: think it pretty much does. There's a lot of weight
- 51:13Speaker 1: for that to be placed where it is inside the season.
- 51:22Speaker 1: There's a total of twelve episodes. No Way Out is
- 51:26Speaker 1: on episode ten. I thought it was earlier than that.
- 51:31Speaker 2: No, Because, Yeah, you have the intro I would call
- 51:34Speaker 2: it the intro arc, which is where you're getting introduced
- 51:37Speaker 2: to all the characters and whatnot, and then you have
- 51:40Speaker 2: the Aldani arc, and then you have the prison arc, yeah,
- 51:44Speaker 2: which has No Way Out, and then you have the
- 51:47Speaker 2: final arc yep.
- 51:50Speaker 1: And the way that No Way Out is placed right
- 51:56Speaker 1: before everything hits the fan. It really gives a nice
- 52:03Speaker 1: feeling to you as somebody who like, again, I said
- 52:07Speaker 1: this in the last episode. Well, I say last episode,
- 52:11Speaker 1: but I'm pretty sure book recording a little you know, uh.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Preview tomorrow, by the way, which.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Is gonna be out there at the same time of
- 52:20Speaker 1: this recording. So it's okay with actually saying this. The
- 52:25Speaker 1: whole point of Star Wars. The end result of every
- 52:29Speaker 1: Star Wars story is to give people hope. And you
- 52:36Speaker 1: have that little glimmer of hope at the end of
- 52:40Speaker 1: No Way Out. It does stand side by side with
- 52:47Speaker 1: you know, this overshadow of the Empire still, but you
- 52:50Speaker 1: still have that little piece of hope, and that's what
- 52:52Speaker 1: I love about it. I still think that I can't
- 52:58Speaker 1: swim is literally the saddest line written in Star Wars history.
- 53:04Speaker 2: If he isn't in season two, I think I will
- 53:08Speaker 2: literally cry.
- 53:11Speaker 1: But that's the thing, like where would he be?
- 53:14Speaker 2: Correct?
- 53:16Speaker 1: That's that's the sad thing, is like I.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Correct, you were right.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I don't know where he would be other than him
- 53:24Speaker 2: showing up in the rebellion somewhere like.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's legit is.
- 53:29Speaker 2: If you are like, oh, I'm gonna do my time,
- 53:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna get out, I'm gonna be a good citizen
- 53:35Speaker 2: kind of thing like he is. I really feel like
- 53:40Speaker 2: if you get told oh no, you're just gonna go
- 53:42Speaker 2: back to a different prison now, I really feel like
- 53:46Speaker 2: you would go fight for the rebellion.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Well, especially with his character the way that he was,
- 53:52Speaker 1: like he said, like he worked his way up to
- 53:56Speaker 1: where he is, you know, being there for so long,
- 53:59Speaker 1: and he was gonna get out soon, like he was
- 54:01Speaker 1: so excited, and then learning that an entire floor got
- 54:09Speaker 1: killed for the fact that they had heard rumors of
- 54:13Speaker 1: this thing that was happening within their own prison, Like
- 54:17Speaker 1: he he broke down, like everybody was kind of yelling
- 54:20Speaker 1: in their own little barracks, and he's like, no one
- 54:23Speaker 1: is getting out, and that's the truth. The rumors are true.
- 54:29Speaker 1: If we're going to do something about it, we're gonna
- 54:31Speaker 1: to figure it out tomorrow. And like everybody goes to
- 54:34Speaker 1: sleep that night, and I love how like he goes
- 54:39Speaker 1: up when they finally shut everything down. He's talking on
- 54:42Speaker 1: the intercom and he's like telling everybody what to do,
- 54:45Speaker 1: and and or Cassie is just like, is that all
- 54:49Speaker 1: you got? Yeah? Really, like years of staying in here
- 54:54Speaker 1: and you that's what you have to tell all of
- 54:57Speaker 1: these people.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:59Speaker 1: And then like I will say this, I still think
- 55:05Speaker 1: Adrian has the audacity, yes say that the what if
- 55:12Speaker 1: I sacrificed? Uh speech is overhyped listening it to the
- 55:19Speaker 1: second time. Listening to it the second time does not
- 55:22Speaker 1: hit as hard, so I could feel where Adrian is
- 55:25Speaker 1: coming from. Still, the performance I think exceeds Yeah, the
- 55:32Speaker 1: actual speech that the.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Written word doesn't necessarily hit the same way in the speech,
- 55:41Speaker 2: but Scarsgard's performance.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Yes, But I think the better speech is from Uh, Yes, yeah,
- 55:54Speaker 1: from And.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I thought that from the beginning, because especially when you're
- 55:59Speaker 2: trying to rile up people who especially have been thinking
- 56:03Speaker 2: like you for their entire prison sitt and it's basically Okay,
- 56:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna keep my head down, I'm gonna get out
- 56:08Speaker 2: of here. Now you have to get those people up
- 56:12Speaker 2: and moving.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:14Speaker 2: So I looking back at this season, I had a
- 56:22Speaker 2: lot of fun watching it. I definitely had some who
- 56:24Speaker 2: look at Jill's moments, especially with like no Way Out,
- 56:29Speaker 2: But then even some of Mond's moments, especially after reading
- 56:33Speaker 2: Maska Fear, like they just are all the more powerful
- 56:41Speaker 2: for her. And I know Maska Fear didn't exist in
- 56:43Speaker 2: this timeframe, but it adds extra context to the character.
- 56:49Speaker 2: So it's especially seeing the scenes with Lida and like,
- 56:54Speaker 2: don't get me wrong, I get it, but also it's
- 56:56Speaker 2: like teenagers, what do you do with them? So yeah,
- 57:03Speaker 2: those moments are really good. I am excited to see
- 57:08Speaker 2: more Sagrera and that surprised me because sau is a
- 57:12Speaker 2: character has always really pissed me off because I always
- 57:18Speaker 2: feel like there's more room to talk. But he's definitely
- 57:22Speaker 2: like the okay, we're done talking, like here's what I'm
- 57:24Speaker 2: gonna do type of person and the world needs those
- 57:28Speaker 2: type of people. I am not that type of person,
- 57:31Speaker 2: So more power to the people who are those type
- 57:33Speaker 2: of people. Like especially looking at Jury Due today and
- 57:40Speaker 2: seeing like different types of people, I'm like, you do
- 57:44Speaker 2: you brah like, and especially in a fight for galactic freedom.
- 57:49Speaker 2: I think I may not agree with sauce methods, but
- 57:53Speaker 2: at the end of the day, what are you gonna do?
- 57:58Speaker 1: Sau was just the Luigia Star Wars. I'll just say that,
- 58:03Speaker 1: you know, looking at at and Or as a whole,
- 58:08Speaker 1: and I know this time around, I only watched the
- 58:10Speaker 1: first episode in No Way Out, but looking back at
- 58:14Speaker 1: the episodes that I did what I watched the entire
- 58:17Speaker 1: season my first time around. I still think the build
- 58:23Speaker 1: up of the season with al Donnie was a great
- 58:30Speaker 1: way to start the show. Yeah, the reason being is
- 58:37Speaker 1: in that first episode with Cassian, he you know, you
- 58:45Speaker 1: see this incident of him killing these two random people
- 58:49Speaker 1: and it just spirals into this mess, right, and so
- 58:53Speaker 1: he's forced into this situation in al Donni, and we
- 58:59Speaker 1: know him from Rogue one, we know the character he's
- 59:02Speaker 1: supposed to become. We're just now seeing him here, like
- 59:08Speaker 1: how does he get there? And seeing these small little
- 59:12Speaker 1: moments the manifesto, I think is one of my favorite
- 59:17Speaker 1: parts of this entire.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Series, especially getting him listening to that in the last episode.
- 59:26Speaker 3: It's just super powerful.
- 59:27Speaker 2: And it just like seeing Cassian on luthen Ship in
- 59:32Speaker 2: the opening episodes compared to how he is on luthen
- 59:37Speaker 2: Ship in the last episode. It's a big difference character wise.
- 59:42Speaker 2: And it's a span of maybe three months. Like, it's
- 59:48Speaker 2: wildly impressive the range with which Diego Luna was able
- 59:53Speaker 2: to attack the entire season and grow Cassian so much
- 59:59Speaker 2: as a character. It's truly special. And I know we
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: still have and or season two next, but I really
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: can't wait to see what Yego Wunna does next.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for real, I'm I'm really excited. I mean,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: he was, you know, part of the rumored uh stand
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: ins for possibly mister Fantastic Pedro you know, got that
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: roll instead. I'm I'm ready to see more Diego Luna
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: for sure. Trying to think of there's anything else in
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: regards to uh the other episodes of and Or I
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: think still to this day, even watching uh the episodes
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: that I did watch, freaking man, what's his name? What's
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: his name?
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Zerel?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Uhh? Yes, Cerel is still creepy and weird, and.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Especially watching him with Deirdre in that last episode, I'm like, dude,
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: you have a crush, but it's also really creepy crush.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: And I don't know if I like where this could
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: potentially get.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: It's very it's very uncomfortable, and it's so funny. I
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: just finished uh throw on Treason today. Yeah, and he
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: almost reminds me of Oh, shoot, who was in Treason?
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: What's his name?
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: I feel like it's Ben Mendelssohn's character's assistant.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Yes, I have not read I have not reread Thrown
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Trees and yet but that is why I didn't know
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: his name.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I just want to make sure it's the correct.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: Just look up critic and see who he's attached.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Roany briarly Ronan And this should.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Be our final ad break. So y'all, thanks for bearing
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be right back.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Is he a He's a colonel and the assistant director
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: in the Galactic Empire under Imperial Military Department Research works
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: with thron Yeah. Uh Ronan. Like as I listened, of course,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I finished uh Treason today and then rewatching these episodes,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I was like, uh yeah, I see it right here.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: This this is totally Ronan and the way, because we
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: always talk about this when we talk about the Empire,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: and they actually mention it almost verbatim in throw on treason,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: the backstabbing, the political warfare of always wanting to step
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: on one another to try to get the higher ranks
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: to basically get a pat on the back by Palpatine,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: like that is all the Empire is. And like you
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: also see these moments where these characters are genuinely stuck
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: with drinking the kool aid and they're like, hey, I
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: know this is best for the Empire because you know,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: this is all I've been raised to do. And freaking
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: have you pronounced his name again? Cyril Cyril Cyril Cereal
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: is definitely the guy that has was born in the
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: kool aid, Like this is like, ay, you know, the
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Empire is a giant cult and this is this is
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: just how life is right now. Yeah, and the way
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: in the very beginning of the Sea I think it's
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I think it's episode one where he like is telling
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: the guy in charge about like the two guys that
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: were murdering and everything else, and the guy's like yeah.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: He like stops the mid sentence. He's like, did you
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: alter your uniform? He's like, oh, oh, slightly, And it's
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: to make it look more of like a higher ranked official.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Like it's it's it's weird, it's kind of silly at
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: the same time, but you're supposed to get that feeling
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: of like eh from this guy, like you're supposed to
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: and I think he just plays that very well. Yeah
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: for sure.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, guys, I'm exhausted. So Clay, do we
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: have anything else to talk about with Antwar Season one?
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: I don't believe, So I will just say that although
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: you know, going along with Katie's words that she said
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: about the run times. Although I am excited, I am
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: ready to bitch. So Disney Lucasfilm, learn from your mistake.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I have already seen like three other people say the
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: same thing that Brent said in our Guha. I would
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: have much rather seen one episode for twelve.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Weeks, even if that means Daredevil had to overlap.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and well, do we even know what's on the
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: schedule for Disney Plus after and or.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: No until we have Tales of Underworld.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So I think that it could have very easily
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: either because oh my gosh, God forbid that you have
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: one forty five minute show and a thirty minute animated
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: show come out on the same day. Oh no, the
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: World's going to end exactly like and we we still
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: haven't gotten I believe we still haven't gotten any news
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: on Percy Jackson season two, like the like. I don't
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: believe there is any large amount of content that is
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: coming into Disney Plus within the same audience span immediately
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: after indor I thought.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: You were talking about just Star Wars stuff. So there
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: is another Summer Marble show. I don't know when, not
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: it's supposed to premiere, but I know iron Heart is
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: supposed to be up, and I think wonder Man because
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: I think there's seven releases for Marvel this year, isn't there.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Is it this year? I thought it was next year
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: that was seven. Geez Louise, And you're right. I did
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: completely forget about iron Heart, So that's not bad.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: So oh, here we go. Okay, Every Marvel Disney Plus
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: sorry oops, Every MCU Disney Plus series confirmed for twenty
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: twenty five and twenty twenty six. Iron Heart is June
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: twenty fourth, Ice of Wakanda is August sixth, Marvel's Zombies
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: is up, Triper third, Wonderman is in December, Vision Quest, Daredevil,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Borning in Friendly Neighborhood, Spider Man, all twenty twenty six stuff.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: So yeah, Marvel has a good many things coming this year,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: so there is stuff coming. But like Star Wars, we
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: got no idea what's coming next.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: For Star Wars.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: We know Visions is supposed to come out at some
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: point this year.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: That's also true.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Tales of the Underworld, that's all we know about
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: because SOCA season two is filming right now. We have
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: no idea what comes next.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: Also, Disney. There's different time slots. Daredevil could have very
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: easily come out at seven, Star Wars could have anything
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: like and or could have come out at eight. It
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: would have been fine. It would have been absolutely absolutely fine. Yeah,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: I think that's very silly and dumb and don't make
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: the mistake again. But either way, guys, you can always
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: find me at Fanboy clay on Blue Sky, on Instagram,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: and on threads. If you would like to follow me
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: on my work journey in the comic book industry, you
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: follow me Blue Sky. If you would like to follow
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: me in my book tuber era of my life, I'm
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: not really becoming a book to where don't put any
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: of that responsibility on me I But if you would
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: like to see me on my book journey, follow me
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: on Instagram because that's where I just post things onto
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: my stories in my page. So currently, if anybody is interested,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I am reading or I'm going to start reading, hopefully
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: tonight or tomorrow. This is how you Win A Time
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: War is a very interesting book as to what I've
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: been told. It is a story told between two people
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: between letters, so it's a very interesting type of read
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: as well as still just trying to get through Way
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: of the Kings. I think I'm on chapter seven now,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: so I.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Have not picked it back up.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Oh really yeah? Wow? Yeah it guys, like, do not
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: pick up the series thinking that you can just get
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: through it the first Oh, go ahead.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Sorry. And also it is a massive book to hold
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: in your hands. So what I am waiting for is
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: I actually put a hold on it at my library
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: and I'm waiting for that hole to come in because
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: I could read it. Yeah, because I always feel like
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: I read stuff faster digitally, like the pages are so
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: stupid than which I get. The massive book. It's a
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: thousand pages long. I just needed it digitally, but I
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: wasn't gonna pay for it because I need to know
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: how I feel about it before I pay for it.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Yeah, one I understand, not from an author I trust
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: like it. It's like, yeah, it's it's a popular book, guys.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I've looked into the digital version at my local library.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: There's like eighteen holds before me.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: So there was I think there was eighteen when I
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: put the hold on there and it actually came in. Okay,
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: so it came in last week, but we were in
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: the middle of Into the Light and then we have
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: to read act like way Seeker, and so my library
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: allows me to defer it for a month. So now
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: I'm like two holds back.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Oh no, but yeah, it's it's the guys, like by
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: the time you're in chapter three, you're already like almost
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty pages in. It is insane. But yeah,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna be reading that and I'm going to try
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: to not buy any more books until next month. I'm
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: gonna see how long I can actually hold off into, like,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: you know, see how many books I can actually read
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: from the ones that I have bought. But yeah, that's
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: that's what I've been doing recently. But yeah, if you
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: would like to actually a big thing that happened over
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: at Ranger Alliance. We hit our one hundredth episode this week.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: That was a lot of fun. I want to apologize
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: for the audio. Jake was having a lot of family
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: at his house and they were all using his WiFi,
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: and so it was very choppy. I tried and tried
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: and tried to get it as best sounding as possible.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: It is choppy. I want to apologize for that, But
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: listen to the episode anyway. I think it's very very fun.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: But yeah, please do. We We greatly appreciate everybody who
