- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Time for the 49ers Rush Podcast.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: and here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, faithful?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolutely incredible to be with you guys this Tuesday.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: It asked you to notice, Wayne is not with me today.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's out of town, so shout out to Wayne.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's the best of the best.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get a show together soon.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: Aussies is always hard with traveling, family, all that other stuff, it's what it is.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I got a really good show plan today.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,660 of the $40 R$4 podcast.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're taking a break from our countdown.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I've got a list, which I struggled with, started with 14, narrowed it down to 12, 10.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, dude, I got to get this lower.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: Top eight, breakout candidates for the 20, 26 season.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we're going to be spending most of today's time on, which I'm pretty excited about.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like, could have done 14, but, you know, you get excited and you're just like, okay, let's put some criteria to this, let's try to boil this down a little closer.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so we're going to spend time with eight of these players.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get time for your questions that you have in the chat, all those different days.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: We've got some rams and some source be branded source be taught, which.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: like right off the bat.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: What a weird situation.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm a big college football guy.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, don't like Texas Tech at all.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Can't get your grades up.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Get your guns up.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that he is now going in the supplemental draft and
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: Big-time player, he's a damn good quarterback.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: The off-the-field gambling stuff, obviously that's an issue.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm thankful, man, I'm so thankful that the Rams got tight Simpson and not Brandon Soorsby.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would have been a little perturbed if the Rams been a second, 2027, second, on Soorsby as opposed to a top 15 pick on Ty Simpson.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: So like,
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just whatever I saw the source being news.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, Wow, this crazy.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited because one hurts Texas tech.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: But to the ramps.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that there's any way they would spend, you know, more on them, but I could totally see them go with Brandon source me in the supplemental draft and they didn't get tie Simpson and I'm just like, who?
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a very, very, very thankful, very, very thankful the Rams didn't get I think he's going to wind up at Pittsburgh and they is best fit for him, but we'll see how the process goes and the hurdles that need to be climbed with the source be thing, you got to be okay with gambling and all that kind of stuff and what that's going to look like in the NFL because the NFL's way harder than, you know, the state of Texas is on that stuff, which that's a whole
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: kettle of crawdads as they say in the South.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's all the thing, but the source being news, I pretty psyched about to be honest with you.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's fun.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I like the supplemental draft and hopefully he goes for a second or third.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: I doubt the Niners would put a claim in on him, but I wouldn't mind if the 49ers put a fourth round pick in just to see like he's damn good quarterback.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's fun.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to slide the big game explosives, the athleticism,
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think I would probably have a first round great on them based on the tape, but the off the field stuff.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you gotta be comfortable with that.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now, have to say thank you to our executive producers of our show all the time.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: David, Gil, 40 hours George Cory Robbins, you guys are the best of the best.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: And all the hashtag CCs, countdown crew, coming in strong.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: What's up Shane?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, brother.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Much love, much love.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: JD, appreciate all you guys in here with some Maria Jason.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, Sean in the house.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, man?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not seeing the IU news, maybe I'm crazy, have not seen that just yet, so somebody's probably following a rumor, but I'm scrolling and again, not seeing any of that, so there's no IU news, that dude's crazy.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, there, yeah, no news there.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate all the hashtag CC's.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there we go.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm tagging.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys, I want you all to guess.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if you guys have one, though what are the chat, I'll start and we'll bring it up later.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: So if you can guess one of the eight, I would appreciate that.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy, Demo is better than Stout in the slot.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Demo is better than everybody at every single defensive back position.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Diamador the North is a better slot, better outside, better strong, better free.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Don't care how you spice it up.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: All five defensive backs, Diamador the North can play all five.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: I do agree with you.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: He is better than Stown.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: I've freaking love Stown, man.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: But the $40 value outside corner way more than slot corner.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I think it was a weird move kicking him out of the slot, whenever you finally had a good nickel corner.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: And he was rotate in and out and Kyle Shetty and said, we want him in the same spot.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're just got a kick him outside.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: And it was funny because
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: last year, I remember at training camp, I was like, this guy has not taken one snap from the nickel corner spot, not one.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: If he were like, well, you can move him around and all this I was like, dude, they have not moved him around once.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: That dude is on the defensive left side and he is part.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, don't expect that to change.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Don't expect that to change because it's not.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Joe, what's up, man, I live in Portland, vacation, and many inapolis.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: You sound great in both places, man.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you had a great vacation, Joe.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Always good to see you.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: And here, what's up Dave, appreciate you guys.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Jai air brown finally breakout.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: He is not spoiler alert.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: One of our eight.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: It would be awesome.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody's got a step up in that safety spot.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody has to.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody, somebody's got to, um, and kind of my criteria for breakout candidates, we, we narrowed it down to eight, no pro bull type players.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Which Malik and stuff is not on the list, either, even though, you know, he's never made the pro bull, but like, I feel like he had,
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: You saw glimpses consistently of how good he was his rookie year.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy, he was you crazy bro.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I'm Maria.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was ready to hear it.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: Screws the text that yeah, that's what it is.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy about the source being news.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: I understand who you are, tech.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: I understand who you are.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, join McGuire's awesome.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was at Cedar Hill whenever I was at Duncanville.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: We had some run-ins.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: I had a big fan of him.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's awesome.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like the coach.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Don't like the school.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Don't like the culture.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Stay away from that one.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Stay away from that one.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, what's up, law appreciate you guys hashtag CC's.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, Dave, the Wi-Fi.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be coming in strong.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be coming in strong.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you, you'll get there and may have let, let's start right here with the law of all.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: He says, stout and seagull are the best of the 25 class in my opinion.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: You went to for two, shout out to the law of all, uh, freaking awesome name in Kimborough right here.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: Up did stout number one breakout.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot, how do I say this?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's possible for me to be more in on Upton Stout.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's number 16 on our countdown list that we're doing.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: And you just see what he was able to do last year.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: 82 combined tackles, four tackles for losses, one sack, one force,
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: the dude was just everywhere.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, he's tiny.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's 5.8 180, not a big dude, doesn't mean he misses time in the way room though, because this dude is jacked.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you see the pictures that they're putting out of his workouts and all that kind of stuff, I mean, it's just crazy.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: You played 665 snaps last year, which I like that.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: I want more.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm you're going to hear me say this time and time and time again.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready for the 49ers to absolve the big nickel or at least allow the big nickel roll to be even smaller sub package against 13 personnel only.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even then, but I'm to the point where I'm just like, look.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: Let's put up to stout in a full time nickel position where we just keep them out there.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm almost to the point where I'd prefer up to stout in a four three setting as well.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like I understand you need to stay in packer and I know where he Morris uses that much more than other teams and whatever you got to get up to stout more snaps.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Do play 16 snaps in the playoff loss for a Seattle.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: that is a crime.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's a crime.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot be okay with that.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's just so freaking good, man.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: You look at just like how will Raheem Morris use him.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's had a lot of corners similar to the build of Upton Stout this versatile kind of canplets.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: He had a 72.2 pass rush
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see him go out there and just dominate, and it's not to say that up to stout was perfect because he wasn't.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of issues early on, he had was on a swivel, guessing wrong, but as the season went on, the play just increased increase increased, and a lot of people have criticized.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: the 49ers drafting efforts in the past several years rightfully so because there's no home runs.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's been a lot of singles and doubles.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm willing to say up and stout could be a home run.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: It is not outside of the realm of possibility for up and stout to be the best nickel corner in the NFL.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that's the trajectory.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: But if we fast forward to the end of the rookie contract and hopes to dangerous thing, okay?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I get it.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hose dangerous thing, make a mango and say, like, but the glimpses are there.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: The glimpses for up to stout bean and absolute freak show are there.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, everybody gives the safety's passes for the horrible pass rush.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: What if you get an improved pass rush and up did Stout's play increases?
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, man.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: It is, it is there.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: It is there.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of there, what's up, the striking gold podcast with the hat tip.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Rob Lauder, you're the man.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Where was up then on your list last year, last year, I had up to Stout 20, we, we had up to Stout 23 on the 20, 25 roster count down.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: This year is 16.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Have he said that the roster countdown this year was a lot harder.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: There's way more talent on the 49ers 2026 roster than 2025.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, like you're like, all right, do jump to seven spots.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Not that big of a deal.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that he jumped up seven spots and, you know, again, I'll just scroll like I've got him ahead of some really, really good names.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle use check.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: I've got him above, you know, the starting center.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of quality players that's just like really we're gonna put them up above those guys.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yes
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I am a great question, depths, or appreciate you guys right here, Maria, you can see the humility and stout the guy to play or that is hungry to get better.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite thing about stout is, you know, I'll go back to Wayne's and out on the show, Wayne and Johnny Dill, they were the two that were pushing stout really, really hard before the draft last year, they loved everything and I was a little bit lower on them because he was so small and I was like, man, I don't know.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Gali, you watch somebody play and just the love of football oozes out of their aura, right?
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: That is what up to Stout brings to the table.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's pure passion and energy.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: And whenever you meet that with the reckless abandon and a positive sense that he plays with, it's just like, whoo, you could go to a game and just watch up to Stout play.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: just keep your eyes on him.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like you don't worry about anything else.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Just watch number 20.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to get the price of admission.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's that fun of a player.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Can he hit you know his trajectory?
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying possibly a best nickel corner in the NFL when it's all like he could get to that point really, really good.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: Back to Maria's comments, you know, the player that is hungry to get better keeps his head down grinds, but has all the confidence of you know I got this, which is so important.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: whenever you're a defense aback all shades shark 2.0 baby k-wad will i love k-1 i love k-1 um yeah well said the secondary's low to a potential it really really is
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: And Weber says, you know, he's not a home run up to install.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's a grand slam could be could be the last home run.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers had was Brock Perti, perhaps the greatest pick in any draft the past 10 years, pick 262 to get your franchise quarterback as crazy talk.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: But since that in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, now 2026 pending, you got to have a home run.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: You can rest on.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, George Kittle, Fred Warner, like awesome, awesome, awesome, Brock Perty, what have you done for me lately?
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: NFL stands for not for long.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to have some type of major home run, Grand Slam at some point.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to at some point, JD, give it to you live twice a week, lucky me, lucky Chapman.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad to have you here, man.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad somebody, thank you, Mario, hope is a good thing.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I hope it's the thing that reminds us that there are things outside of these walls and bars, right?
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go watch Shawsheng today.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Don't have time for that, but I would like to.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the starting center.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, no.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: Finally live a week.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for your friendship, man.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, buddy.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, appreciate you, appreciate you.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: And it's audio.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, JC?
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: Great conversation today.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we got Steven in the chat, right?
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's bounce over to the other side.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out red hot chili peppers.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go with Connor Colby.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Number 37 on our countdown list.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: He was number 50 last year.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now you dive into the early analytics of Connor Colby in the early film of Connor Colby, you get frustrated really, really quick.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: He started six games, started week one, rookie starter seventh round pick, struggled mightily.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot put it any other way.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: gave up multiple sacks six quarterback hits 11 hurries got pulled several times put back in because the injuries and like what was it really even you know one of the spots where it was just like okay yeah this guy he's kneeling down his spot he's got to be incredible blah blah blah blah blah that never happened.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: But he got his six starts and he took his lumps, goes back to the bench, lost his job to Burford, learned, learned, learned, got it some trash time snaps, you go back and watch his trash time snaps, Connor Colby, and it's like, okay, somebody turned on the damn light.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's on now, 49ers go out and pay for Robert Jones, they draft Carver Willis, they bring in
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: And they start interviewing coaches.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: What's Chris Forster?
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: Stay corner-coe, we's looking pretty damn good.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Looking pretty good, Brett Toss been injured.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis, I think that's just way too much of an upstream move to go from always playing tackle to guard at questionable past pro anchor ability.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: Not saying he can't do it, but I think Carver Willis is the long-term center.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's where he projects.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, um, yeah, Mario always already frustrated with Connor.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's the Ricky Pia, but like he hasn't been really injured.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: He had no injuries.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a seventh rounder that was forced to start week one.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't injured.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: He got pulled twice and then, you know, been barred.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: He got injured.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: Then you went with Burford kicked him from tackle to guard.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm telling you, man, Connor Colby,
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Robert Jones, probably.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'd prefer Connor Colby to win that job.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would prefer Connor Colby to win that job.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: Then you've got Connor Colby, Dominique Pooniant, your guards for the next several years.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Young guys.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, I'm just telling you, it's there.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: And Maria, she says she is cautiously optimistic about Colby.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's probably the way to live life all the time.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: cautiously optimistic.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that'd be a good name for a podcast, right?
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers, cautiously optimistic.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think it had a big jump this year.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: He got thrown in the fire clearly, not ready, but at least now he knows what it is.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: You got to come back stronger all that like, I'm just saying the depth at that guard spot.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's a battle.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: Robert Jones, Connor Colby, Carver Willis, Brett Toth, not practicing yet.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's a foreheaded beast, but I'll tell you right now, Connor Colby,
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: that guy.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be start games at left guard this year.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's yeah, bid barch is the Ricky P. Yeah.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's gone.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's what it is.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like that Kim bro.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: What's up man?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: I like this.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: If anyone is a veteran, you need to be using vet ticks.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: They give away free tickets to all kinds of events.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: I saw Niners tickets from the Carolina preseason game on their yesterday.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, I love that.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: That is what's up.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: I've had multiple stepdad's who were vets and see first hand the sacrifice and the stuff that they have to go through afterwards.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, appreciate anybody that serves.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are awesome.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: I love that man.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's what's up.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, so I'm a big Connor Colby guy.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: I really do think that he has a shot at winning that job.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now,
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: And again, these are breakout candidates and I'm being hopeful I would prefer Connor Colby to beat Robert Jones, Robert Jones with the neck issue and all that stuff.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to get more consistent play with Robert's own Jones, but the ceiling and long term capability of Connor Colby is very attractive.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: very attractive.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: A Chris Forster, like if he could do anything, it's taking guys like this and making them adequate starters.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying Connor Colby's going to be a pro pole or I'm not saying Connor Colby's going to be as good as Dominique Pune.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what I'm saying at all.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: But if you can get quality play at the left guard spot from a seventh round second year player, like Connor Colby,
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Solviancy because you're saving money at both guard spots now for years for years and I think that that's a big deal I really really do all right next up.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: We're going with our very first rookie of the list and I want to spend some time here We're going to Ramello height third round pick It comes in number 22 on the countdown list as a rookie.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there is no competition
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: for and I don't think a lot of teams have multiple pass rush specialists only.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: That that's what he's got to be.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, far-skate.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Vent takes his legit GOV X isn't pat either.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Have I heard of that one?
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a veteran, but Ben, I love that.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'll leave that up there.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: And want to say shout out to Brad Graham, you know, SF Niners, Freak and Studd, Legit, he put out a tweet saying, he could see Ramello high having it, 8 plus rookie, 8 plus sack season, his rookie year.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so I was like, huh, you know, we have breakdowns up on Ramello height on the 40 hours rush.com and our patron.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way to support us.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you like what we're doing, that's how I feed the family off.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: These get a little tied around here, if you thought about joining, we have a seven day free trial, go side up, see what's up.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: Ramello, so I started digging, right?
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, all right, cool, let's see how often do rookie
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just see how many times it's happened.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I go through the 2025 draft class.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, 2024 draft class, no, 2023 draft class.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, no, 2022 draft class, oh, there we go.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, found not one, but two.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the two players that had eight plus sex from third round
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, huh, with the ramps.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: Who would have guessed?
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody want to guess who their defense decorator was?
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: You guessed it, Raheem Morris.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: The only two guys in the past four drafts that have been picked at the third round or later and have had eight or more sacks their rookie year.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I have a twice in four of drafts, not likely.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, Rahim Morris coached.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: So that was like, you know what, let's just go back and let's look at last year, regardless of draft position.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Only one player in the entire draft last year, 2025 was a weak defensive line draft for sure.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: James Pierce Jr. was the only one Tia Clip's eight sacks.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: He was draft in the first round.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: And if I want to guess who his defensive coordinator was, you guessed it, Rahim Morris.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: So whether you're looking at,
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: third round picks, the later rookie eight-year sack, whatever, for he more or so only want to do it.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Or you're just looking at eight plus sacks at all last year for a rookie, for he more or so only want to coach it.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: To say that, Ramello Height has fallen into a perfect pairing is an understatement.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is, he is where he belongs.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Kimbro, thanks for the super chat.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Man, he says, I am in on Height.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's exactly what the 49ers need.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: Man, you've got so many of those book style defensive ends.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Michele Williams, Keyon.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like you've got Sam.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you've got those guys.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Boses to do it all.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: Do everything guy.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have, you know, the Soracha.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have the little extra juice.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: The specialty sauce that changes everything.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: If this was a Texas-based podcast, the spicy water burger ketchup, I ordered my ketchup from water burger instead of Texas, my name's John, I haven't problem.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: But like, that's what Romano hide is.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he is a guy that could be that.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, Matt Barrel's put out some stuff this week, shout out to Matt Barrel's friend of the show.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: You can talk about Ramella Hype because he's old.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's 25.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: You can talk about Ramella Hype because he's really only had one major year of production.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever you're looking at just, you know, his sack totals.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: three years with no sex at all, right?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he was just kind of a reserved guy at Auburn and at USC, 2023 he has four sex, 2024 he goes to Georgia Tech, two and a half sex, not much.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Then last year at Tech, nine and a half sex.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you'd be like, smell of height really hasn't done anything elite.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: unless he's surrounded by elite players at tech.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sure, you had the number two overall pick on his team.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Lee Hunter, like everybody on that defensive line got drafted, but then you're like, hold on, pump the brakes.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: What is he stepping into with the 49ers?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's exactly that.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: It is exactly that.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: It is as close to a situation that he was in at tech where he had peer success.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, he's not going to be that for the 49ers.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Maria, hi, it looks legit to me.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think where he's going to bring the creativity to the defense.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: Niners have had that a long time.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: Going to maximize some of the potential of these guys, see, go, Ramello, all those guys.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, I love it, I love it.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now I gotta take a quick coffee break, but if you're going to any 49er's game this year, come check us out, 49er's rushroadtrip.com.

- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: We got you covered, 49ers rushroadtrip.com.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate all of the comments and questions.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: I missed a couple here when we're talking about Ramello height.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to jump forward there.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not getting into politics here, but I'm definitely not that whatever anybody is saying out there.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: God, no.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: let's see our yes all Maria water burger spicy ketchup all the way I feel bad for the Californians that don't know about water burger.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: It is amazing It serves the purpose.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just say that that is the place a 24 hour burger joint.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's it's a disaster, but it's wonderful
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Geronimo holding it down over on Twitch.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: Romela was surrounded by talent at Texas Tech.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of wish we would have gotten Yakis.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Gabe Yakis is a stud whose production just improved consistently throughout his career.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they serve two different purposes.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you know, I could go back to my draft right up of Gabe Yakis.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's awesome.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like I really, really liked him.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's more of a wrecking ball type guy.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, my throat's on the fritz here.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: The bend of Ramelo is kind of what's different.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: That is what separates them.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners don't have the Niners have something a little close to Gabe
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: don't know what to do with his body, big, freak, athlete, defense attack, go in, whatever.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, I would have loved to added him as well.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: But the Niners, they really liked him.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, you go back to Cossera, he's a tech guy.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what that is.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: You do with that, what you will.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Let's jump to the offensive side.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Los Gatos, Jake Tonjes makes this a breakout list.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: I, I'm just a huge Jake Tonjes guy.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now I completely understand.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a pro bowl, caliber, whatever.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: But he serves a role.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: And his role is George Kittle, wide receiver, or, you know, tightened, receiving production, not the air is good as him, nobody is.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever he's injured.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, you go back to that Chicago game, which might've been the game in the year in the NFL.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that game was incredible.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: 42 to 38, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: Dude had seven catches on nine targets for 60 yards and a touchdown.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: incredible.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: You go to the Rams over time win.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Seven catches 41 yards in a touchdown.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: You go to the 49ers win week one against Seattle, you know, stat lines, not great three catches 15 yards.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: You don't win that game without Jake Tons just snatching the ball away from the corner back and over like at the end of the game, like walk off touchdown win.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: So you're talking about three of the biggest wins of the 49ers season.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand Matt Jones deserves all the credit in the world.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, I hope I'm not, like, I get, everybody always says players included coaches include, we don't make the playoffs without Matt Jones.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you're right.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: But what happens if the 49ers don't win those three games?
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Which, sorry.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Struggling.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm feeling great.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: I had sometimes whatever you hit record and you go into like podcast or voice your body's just like hey calm down their book.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: But like you look at the 49ers and what they were able to accomplish last year going 12 and 5.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: Man, those three games are arguably three of the biggest wins to division and then, you know, that Chicago game kept them in pace for that number once they didn't get it eventually, but still.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Dude shows up at big-time moments.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at just what Jake Tontis just continues to do.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be asked to do it again.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: George Kittle might be ready before anybody else thinks.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's possible, but 32-year-old on an Achilles which happened to January, little reserved, flying to Australia.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's for us.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, Todd just over Farrell.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, everyone over Farrell, they play two different positions.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: I understand they're both tight ends, but the Niners have two different tight end positions.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: They have your blocking tight end, you're doing it all tight end.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: Todd just plays the do it all roll.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: Farrell plays the blocking tight end roll, the Charlie Warner roll.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: And anytime you've asked Farrell to step up and do more than that, he is the worst player in the NFL.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: The few good games that Farrell had and he did have a couple good games.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: He did have a good place.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: They were all when Kiddles next to him.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: He cannot rise above his stature when Kiddles out and every game that Luke Farrell had with Jake Tanjus, because they do so many two titansets.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Farrell was dog trash.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was so bad.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the 49ers go out and, you know, they could have just tinder them, Jake Tonjus, but instead they sent them to a two year contract with eight million dollars.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're talking about a four million dollar a year player, but they like this guy.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I really wish Kyle Shanahan would find a way.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: to put Jake Tonjus and George Kittle on the field the same time I really do because Brock party trusts Jake Tonjus period.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's all there is to it.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: He trusts this dude.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Shanahan, that's probably the difference where maybe he doesn't trust him as much as some of the other guys, but Jake Tonjus has a 73.9 catch percentage.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, way better than Kidrick Bourne, Ricky Peer saw, Tobarkis Robinson, Joanne Jennings.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: And now tight-end, usually are pretty high.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: But like 73.9 catch percentage is pretty damn good.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: When you throw the ball to him, good things happen.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's just the reality.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: And in big game moments, Losgato shows up, man.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Dude's just a stud.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, yeah, any kind of deal with that, what you want.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Certain guys are got into it.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: Are you at the random person about the world cup?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: Who thought kiddo and CMC are finished in their careers, your take?
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think that that's the case.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: If, like, I go back to this all the time.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: How do you win, okay?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McAfrey's Explosiveness and Speed have gone down.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Kiddo, I don't think we can say that yet.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's still running away from crazy people, but neither one kiddo nor Christian McAfrey have ever won with speed.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: That hasn't even been their top three trait.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McAfrey wins with vision, intelligence, preparation.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: kiddo wins with attitude, aggressiveness, and just dude, just whatever is needed.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: You see tight ins like Zach Urts, still playing way into whatever, it's so like running back positions a little bit harder to find, but Christian McCaffrey's not just running back.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think both of them can continue to be effective, while they ever have the years that
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's a different one, but finish no because Christian McAfrey just does so much.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: The routes that he runs, the understanding, the vision, the efficiency that he is there, that's going to go for a few more years at least.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now, major injuries that always in question and with Christian McAfrey coming off the heavy workload year, the two times he's got the ball as many times he did last year, he got injured within four games, Bulltimes.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: can that change.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, I, I don't know.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: Login.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: Chairman, I know.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still cried over here.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: No, we could have had Harold Fanning.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, Harold Fanning just amazing.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love that dude.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: And he's the stud.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's a stud.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be the best start in the NFL for like a decade.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jacks, what's up, man?
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: You are awesome.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: You are awesome.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: The tow dragon, the endzone against the cults, that wasn't called the Touchdown, which was I love watching Tondis play.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's so fun.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that cult's game was incredible.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: Shane, I love Tondis.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, who doesn't he?
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: uh... that was a rob from him for sure for sure yeah i i like that um... lost goto's twenty six years old i love it i love it i love it shane john why don't you think shena and trust on just uh... his blockings subpar he's not a good blocker but i think just period and you know you you just watch he tries to
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: They've tried them at the full back roll.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: They've tried it like he's just not a good blocker.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's improving.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's just not a good blocker.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so, shed head uses them as a break glass in case of emergency, but understanding like dude, we get this guy out there.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: Good things happen.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: Good things happen.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: Keep about there like find a way.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it local kid.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: He is awesome.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll never understand this well.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, just imagine having George Kittle like last year when you had no receiving options at all.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Why receive a room?
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe one of the worst in the NFL last year.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: All the injuries, whatever else.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: And conscious to sit on the sideline.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, come on, man.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one word to describe George Kittle is grit.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Dude is pure grit.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: guys that don't win with speed can play long in the NFL neither one of those guys now they did have speed and they do have speed and whatever else but oh man right here grid A of the house what's up conscious and kiddo together on the field would be great just like CMC and Mason will Kyle do it though yeah it's trying to get me in my feels maybe conscious will improve blocking it tied in you there we go that's the way to see it all right
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: This is one.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to spend a lot of time on Ricky Pear saw made this list Mainly because he has it.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: I understand on like a per game basis you could point at and say like how great Ricky Pear saw is and yeah, it's a match and whatever else dudes never gone over 530 yards in a season Dude's the first round pick Now the entries are huge, but he's played in 20 games
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the I test Ricky Pierce all passes for us.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: Can the consistency show up?
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: Can the consistency show up at any point?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, I, I don't know.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm curious.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: What is everybody's confidence level and Ricky Pierce all headed into this year?
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: One to ten.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Ted, dude, we've got to have a pro bullseys at thousands of yards.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: Ted touchdowns.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, five, it's going to be more of the same.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get four to 500 yards.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to miss a lot of time or one.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like overform, which I don't think anybody's there.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm curious, throw in the chat.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: Where is your confidence level on Ricky Pierce all headed into this season?
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: Don't bother me, Steve.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: Give them a seven.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Shane's a 7.5, we got a four, a big toe, sell me your stock.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take it all.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love this.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: And we wanted to, I was working with the company that had this idea for a while, we're like, you could buy and sell stock on players, which I love the idea.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: The functionality and like how that would work out never got like ironed out, but man I was just like, yeah, I love this concepts to like yeah, let's buy sell stock on players Yeah, and toad says he'll take it all.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe toads to the biggest Ricky Pierce all guy out there We got a five if he can stay healthy.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be a pro bowler.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's just that's a big if eight five my confidence is rickety That's pretty good comment I think it's one extreme or the other
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: a potential what's potential mean ain't done it yet.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's all it means seven and a half seven.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: The play will be great, but Evans will eat into the stats.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think six, six and a half.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: I trade Ricky to Buffalo for Knox.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Dawson Knox, that's a little bit.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Ricky, all the rookie contract, wide receiver, but hey, I like to think it.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I probably wouldn't do that,
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, nobody above a seven and a half there was the highest nobody below a four I think was the lowest and so you know four probably get you as rookie year 400 yards three touchdowns seven probably get you 700 yards and I mean shoot this guy's only scored three touchdowns in his entire career he's got to do something at some point in the red zone you just got to.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: uh... Maria was in eight until the last day of OTAs he was practicing on side field it might as well just named that field ricky piercill i i remember being at the first ricky training capital as i do where the hell is number 14 he's nowhere to be found ever just went there practice less than i's a grando now maybe i's a grando was less than i remember i got to go through my notebook but like then last year they they basically just kept him on ice
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: still got injured a bunch of times, but man, he looks good.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: He looks good.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: Sand appreciate you, man.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: Matthew, Ricky, Megan, and past week three.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, yeah, 14 in the no contact jersey.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, man.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: George, my man.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Every day we closer at NFL football.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's a beautiful thing.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: 12 more Sundays.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: Uh oh.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: Who's counting?
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: I got a speed up those countdown shows.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: Ha ha ha ha.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Proof us wrong, Ricky.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Proof us wrong.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I want to be wrong.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: wrong.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just do.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: I just do.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go next up on our list.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I've clicked the wrong thing on the show.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: You knew he was going to be on there.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: Tobis nailed it.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: My answer starts in
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: I freaking love Alfred Collins.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's on my breakout list.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy says CJ West greater than Alfred Collins.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think they're close.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: I have no qualms saying that CJ West was playing at a higher level than Alfred Collins last year.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: The difference for me, not that I'm against either one of them, is that Alfred Collins ceiling because of his body type,
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: All those things is just astronomically higher.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's why you went two rounds before them, even though they played the same position.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like that is the difference.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: Can't he get there?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have no problem to say it's CJ West finished the year at a higher level than Alpha Collins.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I do have issues with the ceiling being there.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's, that's, that's where it is.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: Farscape.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Breakout prediction.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: Alpha Collins will be a proble or this year.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I remember saying this nonstop big time moments, big time games.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Alpha Collins shows up huge.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: Again, you're back to that Rams over time when you don't win that.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe top five play in the year for the $40.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the best play in the year for the $40.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be honest with you, that fumble of Kyron Williams on the goal line and recovery.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, dude, that was crazy big play.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that changed.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: The Rams would have had home field advantage if not for that one single play.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: Changed NFL seasons for multiple franchises.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: The entire NFC West.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: The dude just, oh.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: So freakin good man.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: Can't he get consistent, can Alfred Collins get to the point where he doesn't lose early.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's my problem with the tape and he did this at Texas, but he's such a freak the way he's built, 6, 6, 3, 3, 3, 2, just built like a freakin behemoth.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: But man, you look at them, you know, one tackle for loss, four quarterback hits, one sack, two forest fumbles, two fumble recovers, led the $40 and fumble recovers with two, like he shows up.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: He shows up.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Can he get consistent?
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's the question.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: Can he get consistent?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: Maria, AC needs to win early.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: Colin's right hook punch out against the Rams was the highlight.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: See I think it's up.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably number one.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably number one.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you man as always.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: Toronto, I hope they put CJ West and Kamara back together.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that'd be fun.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, not gonna lie.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think CJ West might have a better upcoming season.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: Due to his potential past rush ability.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, it's great to have both of them, right?
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's not one or the other.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's both, and that is huge.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: That is just absolutely huge.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: Cracked him straight with the George Forbid.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: George Forbid would have been proud of.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's right, Thomas, appreciate you, man.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: I love that comment.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here, Gerottimo, I like when Larry interviewed CJ West and asked him what one player he'd like to play with and he said, Kamara, hope he gets to, yeah, Kamara's fun player.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was really, really high on him.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's a guy, it's going to be tough sledden.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be tough sled to make the roster for them.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: That defensive, but with the injuries there, my kill was my start the year off on pop.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: That gives room for Kamara to slide in.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge, that's huge.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: also should allow both of the youngsters to flourish.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's right, man.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: Shane, D.T.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: room, little crowded for big stats, maybe with the rotation.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they want.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: They spent the most draft picks on the defensive tackle room.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: You traded a third round of this year for OSA.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: You spent the most money in priority free agents on the defensive tackle room.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it is young and explosive.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: Can the consistency come through in that room?
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's where we're got to see it.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's where we got to see it.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to the defense aside.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to stay over there.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go to the back end.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's going to talk about this guy.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Markey Seagull.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: It might not even win the job.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: But I think Markey Seagull can make this list one of two ways dudes and elite special teams play are already like brand boy or swears by this kid.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so Marky Seagull might just be the next elite special teamer, but I think there's some upside there.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're now you bring in ash and Davis that puts a little damper on the situation.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, giant airbrowns there and they like him and whatever else or whatever else.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: But man, I, there's just something about a safety 51199 the best tackler on the team.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: appeared in 11 games and godly just right where he needs to be all the freaking time just got to start making place just got to make place just got to make place of Logan I really want to see go to win that starting job he's our best tackle already like it's now he's weighed down the list like and I get it.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: But God, Lee, Katie beat out Ashton Davis, the vet, Katie beat out Jaya Brown, you know, the splash player.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's making the roster because he's just too good at special teams.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he's going to get a chance at safety at some point.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, shoot, Matt Barrels put out there like, dude, wouldn't be shocked if Marky Seagull and Ashton Davis are the starting safety.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy, a little crazy, but I like crazy.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: I like crazy.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: Maria.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Seagulls killer loves to hit and is fast.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: Just need someone like Reheem to hold those skills.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Gray.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: Coaching matters.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: Coaching matters.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: Shade.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: The freaking legend.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: Got it, bounce early.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: Great freaking show today.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Beth, for the, the, the, the kind words you are the man.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: You are the man.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I just,
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really love Marky Seagull.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was so big on that dude at K State.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: Some guys just have the nineer concept to them.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: He is exactly what it means to be a 49er.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, just saw terrible news.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_01]: The Saints have brought back.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_01]: Caleb Jordan.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's never gonna happen, but a girl can dream, can't she?
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: Man, way to go, Cam Jordan, I freaking love it.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite non-49er player is had a little bit of hope.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit of hope that the 49ers would go get them, but it would, the cards, and it's not really a great fit, but ah!
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Cam Jordan.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to buy that jersey day one.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: Good for him.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: Good for him.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, all right.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: Last player.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just Sean Stribley.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got to put the rookie up here.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know what this'll look like.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: And again, this was a rush.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: Crush guy.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: We name 13 players that I just love regardless of draft position.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: I had a high third auto for the air.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's got a barley second.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: The reach crowd that consists of
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: I just love to Sean Strably, he fits everything that is the 49ers.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that this impact will be bigger later in the year than early in the year.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think you play the big slot role.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think X is where he will be eventually.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that he gets to play behind my Kevin's might not be the biggest statistical whatever.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that to Sean Strow and man, he just looks the part dude, him and that number 15 like, you know, the $40 media put out, you know, pictures of him and they do the media, whatever, do just looks, the way you're supposed to look in that uniform at that position.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: He embodies everything that there is again, maybe that's another thing about this list like guys that just embody what it means to be a 49er Sean Strowling has that in spades.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_01]: in space.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a heavy thought about this departure from Debo and you know, to one and I, you, and whatever else, not those guys, he's not loud.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's not what he is.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: He is calm, cool, collected.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: You watch interviews of him.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: He is calculated.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: He
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't get too high, doesn't get too low.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: Chill, he's not a talker, which for the wide receiver position, a little bit different.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: I love to Sean Strivley.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I loved him before the 40 hours drafted him.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: Where are they drafted him?
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, cool, whatever.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_01]: But God, I mean, I am just, oh.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: so pumped.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's just to see.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: Strably is a great blocker loves to do it.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's key.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: How do you keep them off the field?
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: How do you keep them off the field?
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a great.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: I, you replacement, along with Evans.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: This will be part of his best wide receiver room yet.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think so too.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: And the long-term play.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like Deshawn Strably is going to be a slow burn.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I got
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: But to learn the exposition from Mike Evans as opposed to bread, and I, you, yeah, I'll take that in spades, man, yeah, right here, located in the future, you could do worse, that Ricky Pierce saw a dribbling in Jordan, walk in Jacob Cowling as a wide receiver core, assuming they all stay healthy, it's not a bad group.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: Not a bad group at all.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: What's the path of sauce, glad you're here, man?
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: I wish you didn't have to wear number 15 because it reminds me of Crabtree.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not a Crabtree guy.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: I've talked about this many times I met him in person.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like him when he held out, being the 10th pick.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: I've never been a Crabtree guy at all.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: And for those of you that do like Crabtree, man, I ain't trying to ruin that.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to take that away.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: memories and good times and whatever nostalgia come from your craftry guy or girl salute to you stick stick to number 15, but yeah, I it's so I do this one of two ways.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to see the number 15 jersey and not do the Clint Eastwood and Gran Turino and just be like, uh, mean old man, get off my lawn, like that's how it makes you feel.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw the media, you know, cuts of the shot dribble and I'm like, oh, like, that was my first response.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would love to see number 15 and be like, yeah, yeah, let's go.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Matt Jones doing the same thing for number 10 for me and you want to lie?
- 54:30[SPEAKER_01]: Whoever picked number tier to the pass I was just like why would you do that?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't do that?
- 54:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just don't do that.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to see that.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Jones.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: Who?
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Jones.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I have a Texas guy can't help it.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_01]: Some people say, what's he doing right there?
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it's different day.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_01]: So that's our eight Connor Colby,
