- 0:23Favorite day of the week? Oh, hi.
- 0:25Hello. How are you?
- 0:28Hey, OK, First off, I love the color you're wearing.
- 0:31If anyone's watching the video, is that that's not the same one
- 0:34that I have. I think it's a slightly
- 0:36different color, but is that the same sweatshirt?
- 0:38It's a different style that I think would look great on you.
- 0:40It's like it's over oversized. Yeah, it's it's so.
- 0:44Cute, I love it. Thank you.
- 0:46Yeah. Yeah, you wanna.
- 0:49I need I need to jump in right away with the Stanley story
- 0:52because you just asked a few headers and I like how you
- 0:55changed your color. I know when you.
- 0:58Ordered a different color. OK you guys.
- 1:01So none of this is making any sense because apparently we
- 1:04think you guys are all inside of our brain.
- 1:05If you see my camera moving, if you're watching, it's 'cause my
- 1:08cat is rubbing her face on the corner of my laptop.
- 1:10Hey Kitty step. But the other day I so let me
- 1:18back up. You guys all know tomorrow.
- 1:21So when you're listening to this is birdie surgery and Bethany
- 1:25has been the sweetest and she sent our dogs a bucket of
- 1:30chucket balls to our house. And so it came to me to like it.
- 1:34She wrote Kate Stankowski and you're the only one that
- 1:36actually like writes Kate to me. So I knew it was from you.
- 1:40What do? People say Caitlin.
- 1:42Caitlin Yeah. Well, really the only one that
- 1:45sends me, like, mail, like, is like my dad every year sends me
- 1:50a Valentine's Day card. Like my parents send me a
- 1:52birthday card. So it's like that kind of stuff
- 1:54where it's like my parents call me Caitlin.
- 1:56OK yeah. And then obviously when I'm
- 1:58ordering stuff like Amazon, all my accounts are under Caitlin.
- 2:02Oh, got it. OK.
- 2:03Yeah, so when I saw Kate Stankowski I was like oh OK,
- 2:06this has got to be from Bethany. So get that.
- 2:10And then like 2 days later I see another box and I'm like can't
- 2:14see Cassie. I'm like Oh my God, is it my
- 2:16birthday? And I'm like no, Bethany is just
- 2:17being super thoughtful and you know, my mind goes to oh, she
- 2:21sent the dog something. So then she's probably like
- 2:23being super thoughtful and sending me something too.
- 2:26I open it and it's this beautiful Stanley.
- 2:29I'm like Oh my gosh, nobody bought me a Stanley like you
- 2:31bought me the Christmas Stanley. Yes.
- 2:33And then I'm like she sends me. So I text her and I'm like, Oh
- 2:37my gosh, did you send me this beautiful pink Stanley?
- 2:42And it was a while later. I have to read your exact text
- 2:47because I think your response was just as good as receiving
- 2:51it. Yeah, I said hi.
- 2:52Did you send me a beautiful pink Stanley?
- 2:54She was OMG, OK. I almost just lied and said yes,
- 2:58but it was meant to go to me. I don't think I'd pick a pink
- 3:01one for you. What color would you get in
- 3:02Stanley? Geez, it's because I sent the
- 3:05balls and then, but do you want it?
- 3:09You can totally keep it. And then I'm just geeking out,
- 3:13sending like the, you know, dead face emoji and just cracking up
- 3:18because I'm like, that is the most Bethany.
- 3:20This cat is I. See him paw.
- 3:24Her blood. She just bit my arm.
- 3:26I'm not touching her. Look at this.
- 3:28Stop it. Watch your skin.
- 3:30See if I can. Fit.
- 3:32I want you is to see her. Oh my gosh.
- 3:36I'm so distracted. Get off of here.
- 3:38You're on. Thank God this is abnormal.
- 3:41She it's so funny seeing her to the vision board.
- 3:46Yeah, also because when you text me that like not 10 minutes
- 3:50earlier or 5 minutes earlier, I literally stepped outside.
- 3:52Like where is my Stanley supposed to get here?
- 3:55I don't. Get alerts.
- 3:57Oh, OK, no, no, no. I go and check and I was like
- 4:01what? Where is it?
- 4:02And then I. You were probably so
- 4:04disappointed. So disappointed because I was at
- 4:06Dick's Sporting Good the day before and they have like a
- 4:09selective one right now that's like AI don't know.
- 4:12It's like $55 instead of 45, but it's like a special edition.
- 4:17Like it's really cool with black, with like white flowers.
- 4:20And it was like, no, no, no, I'm going to just go get one that's
- 4:2445. Meanwhile, I just need to Venmo
- 4:27you because now you spent $90.00.
- 4:31But also no, we're twinning. Yeah, so I wouldn't pick a pink
- 4:36one for you for some reason. I love this pink though.
- 4:38OK, Yeah, I. Also love that it has almost
- 4:40kind of like the. This on it it's like.
- 4:43A cream but almost a yellow hue to it and I love it.
- 4:47So I mean I love it. So I was literally like, Oh my
- 4:51gosh, this is so nice. Like so spring when I was
- 4:54wearing pink on our last podcast.
- 4:56So I'm like. Oh yeah, I'm.
- 4:59Wearing pink today too. Like I love it.
- 5:00I've been loving pink and the workout halter top we both
- 5:05bought. That's so true.
- 5:06Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:07Well, and so literally when I got that text from you, I'm
- 5:10standing behind the couch and I'm like, puppy, oh, my God,
- 5:12Kate got the Stanley. Should I tell her I got it?
- 5:15She said. I'm so thoughtful.
- 5:18I was like, Oh my God, that'd be so nice of me, wouldn't it?
- 5:22Be like I didn't do that. Oh my gosh, but what you did do
- 5:26that was so thoughtful and I already posted this on my
- 5:27stories is the legitimate lizard vision board.
- 5:33Honestly, I need to like keep my mouth on the mic because I
- 5:35noticed when you and I get super excited.
- 5:37Oh no, I'm just like here. We just back off of the mic and
- 5:41then I'm like listening to it back.
- 5:42I'm like, I have no idea what I'm saying because I'm like, or
- 5:47if we get whispering. Sometimes it's.
- 5:49OK, Yeah, we're super professional around here.
- 5:52Super. Oh yeah.
- 5:53This extreme we come so. Prepared.
- 5:55We have a full schedule outline. So yes, this was probably the
- 6:01best mail I ever received. It's going to be, it's going to
- 6:05be like I have a child and I'm putting it in my fridge because
- 6:08this is like a piece of art that needs to be on display.
- 6:11It's so good. It was so fun to make it because
- 6:14I was like, Oh my God, there's like little pockets of things on
- 6:17it that this is I love. Did you have all of that at home
- 6:21or did you have to go get stuff? So I went to Hobby Lobby.
- 6:24Which, by the way, do you have a Hobby Lobby?
- 6:26Yeah. Oh my God, it's like a Knick
- 6:28knack person's dream. So many things that are totally.
- 6:32Have dogs to Hobby Lobby. Yeah, and I you guys.
- 6:35Have so many outdoor areas like I like in the winter, I have to
- 6:39like get creative. So I'll just like go walk
- 6:41through Hobby Lobby. I'm like this is so fun.
- 6:43I have seen other traders do that, but I went and I was like
- 6:47overwhelmed with because I, I knew I was going straight to the
- 6:49paper aisle because I used to make these and I need to start.
- 6:53See this is I used to make Bobby.
- 6:56I think I made him 3 cards like this where it was like pictures
- 6:58of us and it's the 2 pages of paper glued together.
- 7:04And so I know that aisle very well.
- 7:06And so I was going straight there.
- 7:07So, so many distractions. It's highly Oh yeah, you can't
- 7:11go. I mean it's.
- 7:11Tough for an ADHD person to go there.
- 7:14Yes. So I'm actually going through
- 7:15the checkout. I didn't know that they couldn't
- 7:18do tap pay and so. Yeah, they don't.
- 7:22No, and so I didn't have I actually didn't have my drivers
- 7:25license either anyway, so I didn't have the money.
- 7:27It was like 167 and I'm like, Oh no, I'm going to have to go
- 7:30home. Dollars one $67167.
- 7:34Where did you buy? The lady behind me, an
- 7:39overflowing cart. So she got a lot out of Hobby
- 7:43Lobby. She was like, oh, I'll pay for
- 7:45it. And I was like, that's so nice.
- 7:46Thank you. Oh.
- 7:47She did. Yeah, but it was so fun.
- 7:50I love it. Was a lot of fun.
- 7:53I printed the stuff from Pinterest.
- 7:56So good. I love it so much.
- 7:58And also I had to mention, so when we were in Florida, it was
- 8:04Valentine's Day and Casey and I aren't like big solid like we
- 8:07don't like, you know, be mine like XOXO like.
- 8:13But I did bring him a card that I had at the house from I
- 8:17traveled with it and literally I came out and he saw the card and
- 8:21his face goes. So surprised.
- 8:24And he was so disappointed in himself and I'm like, I did not
- 8:28care and I did not expect him to have one.
- 8:29And then Bethany goes, I need to have a card for Bobby.
- 8:32Bobby's going to listen to this, by the way, He doesn't know
- 8:35about the Well, it's a. Mother's Day.
- 8:36Yeah, he 100% knew. Oh.
- 8:38OK, OK. There was no way he wouldn't
- 8:40know. So Bethany's like, I didn't get
- 8:44him a card, and Bobby didn't get you one either.
- 8:46But you're like, I need to basically, you know, have one as
- 8:50well. So Bethany's like, yeah, I have
- 8:52some, like, extra cards. You know, we all have a junk
- 8:54drawer somewhere in our house, and there's some, like, random
- 8:57cards in there. So Bethany goes and she's like,
- 9:00I've got Mother's Day cards and we're like, that'll work.
- 9:04And it said something like Happy Mother's Day on the front.
- 9:08Bethany crosses it off and just put Happy Valentine's Day.
- 9:11I don't even remember what the inside said, but it was so
- 9:15funny. And when you made Bobby
- 9:17literally read it in front of us out loud, that's when you know
- 9:24you're kind of like joking. It's like the having him reading
- 9:29it out loud in front of someone. Also, is this the popped collar
- 9:33thing that you like? Don't like on pop?
- 9:34Because it's like limping. It's like slouchy.
- 9:38His is straight up. Yes, this is what I'm saying.
- 9:42OK. Like yours is clouching a
- 9:44little. If yours was like like this,
- 9:46like pop collar, it's stiff, it's slightly stiff.
- 9:49I don't know. Stiffed pop.
- 9:50We've talked about this so many times.
- 9:52This guy, he's not even here to stand up for himself, ever.
- 9:55Ever. No, but we were in.
- 9:58We were in I think Lululemon or whatever or something.
- 10:02And he was like, so is this a pop?
- 10:03I was like, yeah, so let's get I got him some flat shirt types.
- 10:09Nice. We have a flat shirt.
- 10:11I know. Can we get a bunch update?
- 10:15Oh my gosh. OK, so which by the way, Bobby
- 10:19listens to all of our episodes, which I love so much.
- 10:21That's so sort of husband preface with Bobby's the best.
- 10:24He is sweetest and most amazing husband.
- 10:27He has so many amazing qualities.
- 10:29So the other day we're working out in the gym and then
- 10:32afterwards we took a couple of dogs for a walk.
- 10:34I walked outside because he didn't.
- 10:36This is something I would announce.
- 10:37I would make it very clear. Look what I did.
- 10:41You know that is not Bobby at all.
- 10:43Points for me walk outside, I see it at the curb and I'm like
- 10:47oh has. It been picked up.
- 10:49Yes, it was picked up later that evening.
- 10:51Do you know who has to? I haven't said this to Bobby
- 10:53yet. Well, I don't because I when
- 10:55we're walking past first there's a guy in our neighborhood who
- 11:00usually his front yard is very cluttery.
- 11:02It kind of sticks out because he'll like pick up things.
- 11:04He'll even go through people's trash to like get stuff.
- 11:06And I don't know if he's selling it.
- 11:08I don't know. So that was.
- 11:11His own. That's my the judgement.
- 11:13I know he didn't really want to have it, so I checked there.
- 11:17I didn't see it there. I even thought about how he's
- 11:20like picky about who takes the free bunch.
- 11:23So, but I did the next day, I was walking past the lady who
- 11:27has the garage who personal trains.
- 11:29She might have it in there, but it could also just be another
- 11:32bench. So let's just go with that,
- 11:33yeah? Let's just go with that.
- 11:34Yeah, guys, just so you know, this is we're not just talking
- 11:39about like this is some random Amazon bench.
- 11:41This is a rogue bench. And I said to Beth, because I
- 11:44didn't realize it, I knew that like all yours is like updated
- 11:47stuff is rogue. And I know you guys are very
- 11:50brand loyal with things. Yeah, we like brand.
- 11:53You guys are like Lululemon Tesla rogue like.
- 11:57You guys are very brand loyal. Well, I'm not wearing a Tesla
- 12:00shirt, by the way. OK, that's not his part.
- 12:02No, no. No, just.
- 12:03I mean like. You guys have a hat that says
- 12:05Tesla? No, OK, you.
- 12:07Guys, just like your vehicle's like you got another.
- 12:09Oh yeah, we got you. You wear.
- 12:10Lululemon, you drive a Tesla and you work out with Rogue.
- 12:14Yeah. Don't worry, she's not like.
- 12:17Can you imagine? I love.
- 12:18Elon no. None of that.
- 12:21No. But so literally my first
- 12:25response to you is, you know, you guys could sell that bench
- 12:28for like wipe off the pollen. And then Bethany responds like,
- 12:31you're so right. But that's too many steps.
- 12:33So later on I told Casey I was like, Casey, did you know that
- 12:35the bench is a rogue bench? And he's like, you know, they
- 12:38could sell that. I'm like, Oh my God, we are the
- 12:40same person when it comes to not that we like, we definitely are
- 12:43not like nickel and dime it for everything.
- 12:45But Casey's a Facebook marketplace, kind of like he he
- 12:49likes to do his deals on the on the Facebook marketplace.
- 12:53Yeah, but so desire to do that. Totally fair.
- 12:56Yeah. But I am kind of, I am kind of
- 12:58jealous that I couldn't pick up the free bench and just be like.
- 13:01You're. No.
- 13:01I wish they could have, yeah. Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 13:04Because I immediately sent you a screenshot.
- 13:06When I'm out there, I'm like, Oh my God, I got to tell Kate.
- 13:09And then so I'm out. He comes out and I'm like,
- 13:13Bobby, look, that's so great. I'm so proud of you.
- 13:16And he was like, he was like, I felt, I felt shame about it.
- 13:21Oh no, it was like. But if it worked, it's fine.
- 13:25I was kidding. And I was like, no, from the
- 13:29podcast, sorry. Oh, I did text you and say
- 13:32podcast peer pressure. But anyway, yes, so I.
- 13:35Mean it's real. Yeah, but then he he he joked a
- 13:38little and he was like, well, no, when you said cuz when I was
- 13:40talking to him about the benches and I was like, well, we have 3.
- 13:43So like when Kate and Casey come back, we can share the two.
- 13:46It's like. Totally don't need 3.
- 13:48Yeah, it's good for your friendship to share things, yes.
- 13:51Yep. He's talking over.
- 13:52There, we're over there. We have to share the cable
- 13:54machine like we can share. That's what he's literally.
- 13:57We are your only visitors that stay for three weeks.
- 14:00We're. The only other people that want
- 14:02to work out with us, yeah. Literally so we can, we can
- 14:05share and half the time we're out there just like, yeah,
- 14:08moving and grooving. I love you said.
- 14:11That's the thing that got him. He was like we can share the 2.
- 14:14Totally. Yeah, it's so fascinating how
- 14:17things work in people's brains, but it was.
- 14:19Sometimes they just need that. Push big day.
- 14:21Yes, we helped with that, I know.
- 14:24I loved your post the other day. By the way.
- 14:26This is completely changing topics, but how are you feeling
- 14:30after your E collar talk? I know you said you might
- 14:34forget, you might regret this. I hope there's no regrets.
- 14:37No regrets. I swear on my life I've never
- 14:40felt like this about posting about E collar stuff.
- 14:42And it's because of the stuff I'm writing where I am actually.
- 14:46I used to take it very personal. Yeah, like as well.
- 14:49And also I don't want other owners to see the comments and
- 14:51be like, Oh no. And second guess, you know,
- 14:54yeah. So no, I loved it and I
- 14:57actually, I need to go back and replied to the comments.
- 15:00But then did you, I don't know if you saw there was this one
- 15:03lady who just went a little crazy and there was a whole
- 15:06thread inside the comments. Oh.
- 15:07Yes one of my clients clients turned friends is in is in there
- 15:11who also commented on it. She screenshotted it to me and
- 15:13said I might be getting in a fight on Bethany's post and all
- 15:16I said back was not worth it. Not worth.
- 15:20It no, because of course like my client's point of view was great
- 15:24perspective, but the person it's not going to hear it.
- 15:26No, they don't care. No, they don't care.
- 15:29And she kept coming back like pretty much like 2 year old,
- 15:33yes, like. It was ridiculous.
- 15:36Just so you know, just because I'm like, I don't want any of
- 15:38that in my orbit. I clicked on that person and
- 15:41blocked her because I'm just like I don't need her on my
- 15:43page. I'm.
- 15:44Telling you how I blocked? Who's the the big purely
- 15:49positive guy? Zach.
- 15:51Yes, he's blocked on mine too. I never.
- 15:53Just in case it's ever. Yeah, what I'm thinking, and
- 15:57correct me if I'm wrong, I feel like you're getting like, not
- 16:01that I want to bring this into again Myspace.
- 16:03I really have not had like any like crazy hate on any of my
- 16:08like E collar stuff of recent. Even our one that we collabed on
- 16:12wasn't. We had like one person that was
- 16:14a little. Yeah.
- 16:15Yeah. But otherwise it's been really
- 16:16positive. I think that maybe yours is a
- 16:20little bit more because you had such a influx with your dog
- 16:25Diaries and I feel like that's such a different clientele than
- 16:29the training E collar side of things is.
- 16:31It's like dog mom central with the Diaries for sure.
- 16:34Then I think that you're probably have a lot of people on
- 16:37your page that followed you from that, that then are seeing this
- 16:40and like, Oh my God, you, I didn't realize I was following a
- 16:43demon. Yes, exactly.
- 16:46Yeah, let's give you some anxiety before about like
- 16:48posting about E collar stuff where now I'm like it's just a
- 16:51different perspective. I I really am.
- 16:53Actually, I'm more curious on like, why?
- 16:56I know why, like the ridiculous reasons why people are against
- 16:59it. And so I'm just don't like it
- 17:01and that's it. But it's more like a curiosity
- 17:03of like, Oh yeah. Like, so you really think that
- 17:06there's electricity running through it?
- 17:07Well, I wouldn't like it either. That wasn't yes, people truly I
- 17:12I'll even have I will say like it's rare that I have to have
- 17:16any sort of like real in depth conversations with my actual
- 17:19owners on go home day. But once in a while, like
- 17:24recently, I had an awesome family.
- 17:26Their other dog is trained on the same E collar.
- 17:29I didn't train them. That was when they lived out in
- 17:31Colorado and they brought their kids that are very appropriate
- 17:36age for the go home. And the son just asked the
- 17:38question. He's like, I asked him if he
- 17:41wanted to feel it. He's like, no, I don't want to
- 17:42get electrocuted. And I was like, oh, I'm like,
- 17:46well, this isn't even more of a reason that you need to feel it,
- 17:48bud. And I was like, I was like, OK,
- 17:50I just want to give you the difference of like electricity
- 17:53is like they're going to use that for like on farms and stuff
- 17:55when they need to keep like cows.
- 17:57And that is an electric fence. There is electricity running
- 18:00through that. And I was like, this is
- 18:01electronic where you're you're not getting any sort of electric
- 18:05shock, blah, blah, blah. So he felt it.
- 18:07And of course he was just like, oh, you know, no big deal, but
- 18:11people will. And that's the same thing,
- 18:12myself included. Like we're all like the fear
- 18:16mongering of any topic is so real on social media that like,
- 18:20I'll even read some certain headlines.
- 18:22It's maybe something about your health.
- 18:25And I'll be like, Oh my God, like I'll believe it just 'cause
- 18:28I read it. And then I'm a smart enough
- 18:29human to be like, OK, let me do my own research about this.
- 18:33Like, is this just a fear mongering type of post to catch
- 18:35your attention? But people will read something
- 18:39online just and take it as fact. And it's like, OK, like I'm sure
- 18:46I, I'm sure I do it as well. But like I do try to come from a
- 18:49space being like, let me just like confirm this for myself.
- 18:52Do I feel good about it? If I don't, You and I are not in
- 18:55the business for convincing people to like any caller.
- 18:59No, I used to think I need to do that when I first started.
- 19:02Yeah. But where?
- 19:03No, it's exhausting. The business that I'm in now
- 19:05that I feel like, like I had a great example.
- 19:07I wanted to bring up your E collar post because I have
- 19:10probably, I've worked with a lot of very nervous dogs.
- 19:13This dog that got dropped off yesterday and I was working with
- 19:17her just a little bit ago. She's got to be top five or top
- 19:20three most skittish. Like we're not just talking like
- 19:23nervy like so skittish dogs that I've ever had like top five for
- 19:28sure. There's only one other dog that
- 19:29I can think was probably like a little bit more skittish than
- 19:33her and I didn't do any E collar work with her yesterday just
- 19:37because there was like barely even moving her around my kennel
- 19:39room. She was so panicked.
- 19:42But I did a little bit with her today and we have, we just
- 19:45scratched the surface, but just incorporating the E collar from
- 19:50yesterday. I was like, Oh my God, like it
- 19:54was incredible. Like it was, it's an example
- 19:56that I wish that you could really show and have people feel
- 19:59at the end of the leash. That was the biggest thing.
- 20:01Like she still looked because I mean, she got dropped off.
- 20:03Her dad had to carry her out of the car.
- 20:04Like she looks terrified of everything.
- 20:08Someone would see the context and see her with an E collar on
- 20:11and think the E collar caused that.
- 20:13Of course where? I'm seeing and feeling such a
- 20:16shift in one session with the E collar that like it almost felt
- 20:20like through the leash. She took a deep breath and I was
- 20:22like the fact that this dog would have potentially in a
- 20:27different home because I trained their prior dog.
- 20:30So they already knew that they were to send her would probably
- 20:33live like this forever. And she's going to be a dog that
- 20:37I do think will have a lot of. She's very similar to your last
- 20:43training dog. You have it, Hazel.
- 20:44Yeah. Where it's just like Hazel's
- 20:46probably always going to be a little nervy and she's probably
- 20:48always going to be freaked out by things.
- 20:49And like, it's not going to be she's probably always going to
- 20:51be a little bit of a flight risk off leash, like probably have a
- 20:54long line type of thing. But you even saw like the E
- 20:57collar probably changed her life, definitely changed her
- 21:02owners. And obviously it's not just
- 21:03putting the E collar on. And that's what fixed it.
- 21:06It changed things, but we hear the narrative all the time of
- 21:09like, don't use an E collar on a nervous dog.
- 21:12Yeah, I think that's probably one of the dogs that needs it
- 21:16the most. It.
- 21:17Felt. I know I remember repeating
- 21:19this. It felt like a deep breath at
- 21:20the end of the leash. And I'm like, I'm so happy for
- 21:23her because even though she was a little bit like, whoa, that's
- 21:28her baseline. She's being like so panicked, so
- 21:33freaked that she just took a break.
- 21:34She just took a pause. She didn't know how to take a
- 21:36pause before. And me giving just, you know, I
- 21:39was doing some tone work. But then I'm like, OK, this girl
- 21:41needs a little bit of like a similar to reactivity, like a
- 21:44nip in the butt of that state of mind.
- 21:46She went to go take off at the end of the leash and I just
- 21:49stem. And she was just like, oh.
- 21:51It's like snapping her out of it.
- 21:52Yes, and it's, you know, we're probably going to do that many,
- 21:55many more times before it kind of clicks.
- 21:57But I just, I think the the reason you and I even continue
- 22:01to post about anything like that is because the passion that we
- 22:04have for seeing the impact positively that it can make for
- 22:08dogs and owners. Oh yeah.
- 22:09Well, and it's just, I think it's wild to me where you could,
- 22:13because I feel like before and after footage is such a great
- 22:16way to share what's possible. And it's actually like this is
- 22:19actually what's happening where a lot of people who are against
- 22:22E collar, I don't like follow content about it, but I'm
- 22:24assuming it's like they just say words and words have a lot of
- 22:27power. And if someone's in a certain
- 22:29state of mind where they're like just looking for evidence of why
- 22:32this tool is bad, then they're going to latch on to that.
- 22:35But even like if I post like in that video about a dog before
- 22:39who's going crazy on the on the walk, who's reactive barking and
- 22:42then they're not. And it's like, shouldn't that be
- 22:44enough? Like, I don't, it's just so I
- 22:48think there's a lot of people that we're never going to
- 22:50convince and we're not trying to.
- 22:51But yeah, I, I think I was having an issue with, I don't
- 22:55want to let people who are loudest like on Facebook, which
- 23:00I Facebook just makes me crazy. But I don't want to let those
- 23:04people stop me from sharing what's possible for the owners
- 23:07who are struggling and the owners we've worked with and
- 23:09dogs we've worked with and this dog you're working with, you can
- 23:11see why it's so helpful, so. Totally well, and it's like I, I
- 23:16feel like the conversation around it too is like, you know,
- 23:20we talked about this as well like a lot of times, yes, we are
- 23:22using lower levels to like either condition the dog to it,
- 23:25but also I don't like to just glamorize that either like that
- 23:28number I needed to use to snap her out of her spastic state of
- 23:32mind. And again, I'm working with an E
- 23:34collar every single day, so I know where my timing needed to
- 23:37be and I knew like around where I need to be, but I was at like
- 23:39a 40 something and some people hear a 40 something and it's
- 23:43like, Oh my gosh, that's for a dog that's in a spastic state
- 23:48that's going to feel like A5 to a very calm, level minded
- 23:53indoor, the dog that's inside. So I also don't like I I tried
- 23:57to talk about as well as like we have to use those numbers that
- 24:00are meaningful in the moment because if we're just only
- 24:02talking about that's one thing all over the place.
- 24:06But I will even see some trainers.
- 24:08I've heard it in the past of being like, if you need to go
- 24:11much over a 15, like you're doing it wrong.
- 24:13I'm like, stop setting owners up to effing fail.
- 24:17That is unfair. That is not true, First off, and
- 24:22that might be true for certain dogs, but I know some of my
- 24:25owners like really reactive dog that I'm thinking about just
- 24:29because top of mind he can feel extremely low levels if you were
- 24:34to tap that during his prior to his reactive moments.
- 24:38Good luck. He lost him, he's gone.
- 24:41So I think you and I both do a good job of talking about like I
- 24:43was at a 55 there I was at a 70, whatever that may be.
- 24:49And I don't know how with your owners, but I'll tell the owner
- 24:53if you know what the highest number their dog was probably at
- 24:55when they were here. And yes, I always do.
- 24:58Yeah. And I just talked about it if
- 25:00it's very like matter of fact. And I said you might have to go
- 25:03there. You might not like it might have
- 25:04been that one situation was a one and done.
- 25:06Yeah, but I don't want to glamorize of like low level only
- 25:10because then people will continue to struggle with
- 25:13massively fearful dogs, massively reactive dogs, dogs
- 25:17honestly being Dicks and you're not being able to stop a
- 25:20behavior. Yes, Oh my gosh, I think.
- 25:25Because I think it could be so black and white where there's so
- 25:27much nuance, like you talking about how you were using it
- 25:29leash guidance to like if that's that's instinctual.
- 25:32So there is that part to it. But I think that a lot of people
- 25:36or you'll hear because they're trying to make the E collar seem
- 25:39like a positive thing where they're like, it's not painful
- 25:43or where it's to me, I like to just think of it as no, it can
- 25:48be uncomfortable at certain times like that.
- 25:50That is a part of the process, but it's a piece of it.
- 25:53It's like when you what's the, what's the dog's name that
- 25:55you're working with now? The fearful of Piper Piper.
- 25:57So when you use that level with her, which was really meaningful
- 25:59to her in the moment, it's a moment.
- 26:02It's not like you're tapping at 45 all day long.
- 26:04Like that's the thing and. In a different context, she's
- 26:07constantly uncomfortable. Yeah.
- 26:10Like except for outside, inside her home, her brain is in
- 26:14constant uncomfortability. And that is more detrimental to
- 26:19her than a quick moment of being like, whoa, OK, what was that?
- 26:23And I'll probably have to go higher than that with her.
- 26:25But this was our first session and just on my driveway.
- 26:29But I know if I even get her out in public, like her state of
- 26:33mind is not going to feel a 45. There's no way that content.
- 26:37Yeah. So I totally agree with you of
- 26:39like, I'll even have, you know, owners say stuff like, you know,
- 26:43and it doesn't hurt them or anything like that.
- 26:45And I'm like it, it doesn't like hurt such a you know, I think
- 26:49that's just more of an emotional term.
- 26:51But I do say like, I am not going to sit here and say like
- 26:53numbers over 50 are like super comfortable either.
- 26:56Like I'm not I'm like, you know, I would be like whoa, if I felt
- 27:00that on my hand. So I think it's just the more
- 27:02that people like just take a step back and talk about it in a
- 27:06way where it's like how we do, it's like realistically, yes, it
- 27:09can be something that's like uncomfortable because there's
- 27:12also some behaviors we want it to be uncomfortable.
- 27:14I'd rather my dog and I use this example a lot with my owners
- 27:17when we're working on like the recall and stuff is like, I'd
- 27:19rather than be uncomfortable for one moment.
- 27:22If they're chasing something they shouldn't be chasing then
- 27:24them running into a busy St. and getting hit by a car, that'd be
- 27:27way more uncomfortable for everyone.
- 27:28Yes, yeah. And so that's one thing where I,
- 27:31I have no desire to like get into what I used to do is get
- 27:36defensive where I would want to like not even prove so much, but
- 27:40it would like get my blood boiling, I guess.
- 27:44Like that seems dramatic but it would just get me annoyed like.
- 27:46Because you're passionate about it.
- 27:47Yes, but now it's more from that perspective of like being I
- 27:52guess curious about like, oh, well, if you think that about
- 27:55it, then of course you're against it.
- 27:56But also most people are not they don't want to learn more
- 28:00about it. So then that's another thing
- 28:01too. It's like we're sharing for the
- 28:02people that hopefully it's helpful and or can just like
- 28:06change something. I'm going to switch something
- 28:10real quick because I was thinking about what was the
- 28:13thing I was saying to your brother in Oh.
- 28:19My gosh. OK, so again, sweetest people on
- 28:23earth. Casey's brothers came to visit
- 28:26Casey, but this was all planned prior to our Airbnb.
- 28:30No, you're the nicest, is what I'm saying.
- 28:33Yeah, but like, they're, they're very nice too.
- 28:34But I'm just saying that you and Bobby were the nicest people on
- 28:37earth. And so Casey and his brothers
- 28:41had a separate Airbnb. They weren't like staying at
- 28:43Bethany and Bobby's or anything, but they were going to have like
- 28:47a really nice weather day. And we're like, can they come
- 28:49over to do a pool party? And Bethany, so cute, totally
- 28:53wanted to be like the pool party mom.
- 28:54So she goes inside and makes these cookies, Brown butter
- 28:57cookies. Yeah, brown butter cookies.
- 28:59I didn't even know you were going.
- 29:00Like, she got some fruit. She walks out and is like, does
- 29:03anybody want watermelon? And I'm like, oh, I'll have
- 29:06some. And I think that one of his
- 29:08brothers like, yeah, sure. All the piece.
- 29:09And then he literally saw us at my front door and like, ringing
- 29:14it. And Casey's on a call too.
- 29:16Hold on, let me just someone delivered.
- 29:20First, look how beautiful these are.
- 29:21Oh my God. Read the card on air.
- 29:24OK, read it. Yes.
- 29:27The reason? Because sometimes, like if
- 29:29people just ring the doorbell, it's obviously a delivery.
- 29:31But she rang it twice. Gosh, I bet you I know who this
- 29:37is. From what?
- 29:39Because I'm going to guess, but I'm I might be.
- 29:41Wrong. Don't say it.
- 29:42Don't say it out loud. Let me say, read it first.
- 29:45Don't guess first. Yeah, yeah.
- 29:47Yeah, I knew it. OK.
- 29:49Sending our love to you and Casey and Birdie.
- 29:51Love. Mom, Dad, Kristen, Luke and
- 29:53Eloise. My sister's always, well, my mom
- 29:56as well, but so good about sending flowers.
- 29:58And this totally looks like a bouquet my sister.
- 30:01That is beautiful. So nice.
- 30:05This is so beautiful. Is that a Peony in there?
- 30:09Wait, is there a pink flower? What's the pink flower?
- 30:11The. Little purple ones are peonies,
- 30:15but. I love a Peony that.
- 30:18Like orange one is gorgeous. I don't believe it there.
- 30:21So you can just kind of. See it?
- 30:23Oh my gosh, that's so nice. We don't need to edit that out.
- 30:26That was. Well my edit where I'm just like
- 30:29sitting here like I. Didn't know if it was like.
- 30:32No, I won't earn. Something.
- 30:34What did you you're saying have fun with them?
- 30:37What were you gonna do? Like talk to them through the
- 30:39ring. Well, yeah, you can talk to them
- 30:41through it if I needed to. So if it was like this is gonna
- 30:46sound bad, I was gonna say if it was a man at the door, I
- 30:47wouldn't go answer it. Would you just say like get away
- 30:51on the ring? I would just ignore it.
- 30:53Oh, OK. I'm like, hello, what do you
- 30:55need 'cause I didn't know if it was something that needed to be
- 30:56signed. I didn't order anything that
- 30:58would need to be signed, but yeah, yeah, yeah, that nice
- 31:02surprise. What were we talking about
- 31:04before that? Oh well, now I remember when I
- 31:06asked them if they've ever had it before.
- 31:07Yes, literally, she goes, she she offers watermelon.
- 31:11She goes, have you guys ever had watermelon before?
- 31:14And they, they're like, yeah, what?
- 31:17And then Bethany goes, I don't know why I'm acting like they're
- 31:20from a different country. Like we don't have watermelons
- 31:24in Wisconsin. Oh my.
- 31:28I think I asked them a second time.
- 31:30Or like, have you ever seen lizards or something stupid?
- 31:32I asked them one more thing where I was.
- 31:33And it was like the lizard thing wasn't stupid though.
- 31:36OK, what is that? Is that fit?
- 31:40I can't like there's no I I can't have rules for her because
- 31:44she just bites me. How do you?
- 31:46Stop a cat. I don't know.
- 31:48You don't like maybe a softy. You're a softy with her.
- 31:52She's scary. She, as she's been at me before,
- 31:56she's way. Nicer at your house.
- 31:58Like it was also very. Way nicer at your house.
- 32:03Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
- 32:05But there was something else that you asked them that I'm
- 32:07like Bethany. They're from Wisconsin, not
- 32:10Guatemala. Like, I don't know.
- 32:13I don't. Know what I was thinking?
- 32:15Oh and also I brought. OK, first of all, my nose is
- 32:18running it's allergy season here I think.
- 32:20All in crazy. God, but Oh my God, I the the
- 32:27time I have laughed the most is when we did the backward singing
- 32:29thing. Never laughed that hard in my
- 32:31life. Second to that is when you sent
- 32:34me the cover of Casey's first idea for his podcast episode.
- 32:38His podcast. Oh yeah, anyone that watches the
- 32:41video is going to get a real nice surprise right now.
- 32:49Why can we just look at all of this?
- 32:53I think the best part of it is he literally posted it without.
- 32:58He just like looks good. Like literally looked at it
- 33:00once, Like I like that. And like even like the font and
- 33:03stuff. I'm like, OK, yeah, it totally
- 33:05looks like your weirdest friend. You didn't look at anything
- 33:08beyond that. He didn't even he didn't notice
- 33:10the floating pizza. He didn't notice the two open
- 33:14signs. 2 magic 8 balls like the rubber ducky with a funnel on
- 33:23its head or whatever that is. A robot dog.
- 33:25Did you see that? That one is like so creepy AI
- 33:28and then. It's like a space gas station.
- 33:32A gas station and. Then when you said because I I
- 33:36thought I saw all the things, but you just said we're like,
- 33:38yeah, and his head is on a what is it?
- 33:41Crystal ball, crystal ball. He also didn't notice that.
- 33:45Oh my gosh. I laughed so hard at that.
- 33:48I felt embarrassed. I was sitting next to Bobby and
- 33:50I was like, Oh my God, I am laughing so hard at that.
- 33:54I was crying laughing. I took two screenshots of myself
- 33:56crying and I almost sent it to you.
- 33:58Bobby walked behind me. He was like why are you taking
- 34:00pictures of yourself? I was like, I want them to see
- 34:02how I'm crying. And Bobby probably gave it like
- 34:06a little giggle. Yes.
- 34:08Let Bobby laugh out loud. Well, I made him laugh out loud
- 34:12last night and I was like, am I the funniest person you know?
- 34:14100% He was like, let me think about it.
- 34:18Let me. Think about it.
- 34:19I'm like 100% yes. He laughs at like silly boy
- 34:25things that will be like on. Silly boy things.
- 34:28Like if there was like a a crude cartoon that was on and it was
- 34:32like a character making a joke, that's that's funny.
- 34:36Me either, really. I don't find that stuff.
- 34:38That's one thing I will say that's very interesting.
- 34:40Like, you know, a lot of guys make like Weiner jokes or like
- 34:45fart jokes or, you know, stuff like that, like that kind of
- 34:48show, that type of stuff. Casey never makes jokes about
- 34:52stuff like that, like or like sees reels about things that
- 34:55it's like about I. Don't know.
- 34:58Yeah, and he doesn't think they're funny, but like.
- 35:02Check out this penis video. Kate, this is hilarious.
- 35:05So funny. But then there's other things
- 35:07that I'm like, huh, this is what you find funny.
- 35:11Oh, he sent me a reel on Easter, OK, which was so nice.
- 35:17A lot of times people send me reels, they're not very funny
- 35:19and I have to fake lol, you know?
- 35:22But his was really hilarious. But I remember when we went, I
- 35:25went to the Home Depot. Obscure.
- 35:28Well, when we went to Home Depot, I think I told you this
- 35:31after he like almost threw up and thought it was funny, but I
- 35:34didn't cuz he was also kind of panicking about it.
- 35:37But on the drive back to our house, he was saying he was
- 35:42talking about stuff he sends to his brothers or whatever.
- 35:44Yeah. And he was like, I should send
- 35:46you some of them. And I'm like really?
- 35:47Do you think you should? Do you think I'm thinking you
- 35:49should send me? Probably.
- 35:51Not that you send to your brother.
- 35:53Yeah, I don't think I'd find it funny, but thanks, yeah.
- 35:54Thanks for thinking of me, yeah. Yeah, but probably he, yeah,
- 36:00it's very random things. Mm hmm.
- 36:03OK. What?
- 36:04What? Well, what were you?
- 36:05Saying I finished Love on the Spectrum.
- 36:08OK. Speaking of penis, when Connor
- 36:13says Ding Aling, you remember that part?
- 36:16No who? Who is he talking or his
- 36:19dingling to? Not his.
- 36:20Oh, that would be a whole other thing.
- 36:22Well, I could see that, but no, he was at in England with his at
- 36:26the time girlfriend and they were looking at the.
- 36:29Oh, yes, yes, yes, OK, yeah, I do remember that.
- 36:34How do you feel about Madison and Tyler?
- 36:38OK, wait, which ones are? Madison, they're the ones that
- 36:40got engaged. Oh, OK, it was scrunch nose
- 36:42thing. Yeah.
- 36:43Oh yeah, they're cute. I liked him a lot, them together
- 36:46a lot more this season. I felt like last season, the
- 36:50excessive kissing in front of like his parents in the kitchen
- 36:54and stuff or in front of her parents in the kitchen was hard
- 36:58for me to watch. Did you watch last season?
- 37:00I'm sure I did. There's the way I did it.
- 37:03You literally need to go back to that because even in the last
- 37:05episode when the dad's giving a speech at their engagement
- 37:08party, he even makes mention of the excessive kissing.
- 37:14I do love Madison's dad, he's so cute.
- 37:16Love. He's like an actor, so natural.
- 37:20Yes, and you can just tell like you can tell dads that have
- 37:25girls they they just have. I'm not saying that boy dads
- 37:30can't be like this, but they just have hearts that it's like
- 37:32it's because you have a daughter.
- 37:33Yeah. So, so it's just like him
- 37:36talking about Madison and probably just again, them
- 37:40talking about the things that they thought she would never do.
- 37:42Yeah. Just and he's just like
- 37:44captivating and she's just sitting there with her scrunched
- 37:47nose but also looks a little uncomfortable.
- 37:49It was just so sweet so. Sweet.
- 37:52I think it's so funny that you don't like.
- 37:54Well, not that you don't like him, but his voice.
- 37:56You don't like Dylan? I love him.
- 37:59Yeah, yeah. Again, it's not that I don't
- 38:01like him as a person, but he's definitely not my favorite.
- 38:04I love how he says per SE. What does that even mean per SE?
- 38:09Like you end a conversation like the sky is blue per SE.
- 38:14Is that because he also speaks Spanish?
- 38:16Is that I don't know, I'm not totally sure.
- 38:19Maybe, I'm not totally sure, look it up.
- 38:22Did you catch on his date at that?
- 38:28I don't know why. Yeah, I jumped to thinking.
- 38:30I know what you're saying. The date at that, like Western
- 38:33Place, has a set of handcuffs on his pants.
- 38:38Yeah. I did.
- 38:41I was like, are the handcuffs necessary?
- 38:44And my sister's like, Oh my God, I didn't even notice those.
- 38:49I just, it's so funny like cuz when, what would he say?
- 38:53Oh, where he well, it's just little things cuz they're not
- 38:57like they're not thinking things through like we do obviously.
- 39:00So they just say what comes to mind And when him and someone
- 39:03else I think like Logan, we also love.
- 39:08Yeah, I do love him. What about the date at his
- 39:11house? He was.
- 39:12So nervous. And then his dirty room.
- 39:17Why? Why didn't someone, his sister
- 39:19or mom go in and clean it with him?
- 39:21He has. Literal pee soaked socks on his
- 39:24bed drying because those dogs pee all over.
- 39:30And like, again, this is editing, so I'm sure we just
- 39:32missed it. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:33When she was there, the dog pees on the floor and like, it made
- 39:37it look like no one cleaned it up.
- 39:39It did. I was beyond like, I think that
- 39:44I'm sure you're similar. Like, I think I watch shows and
- 39:47see like dogs in them and I'm a little judgy.
- 39:52Oh for sure. You can't help it.
- 39:53I'm like. What are we doing?
- 39:55Like why are we calling an 11 month old puppy like we're still
- 39:58on E training and it's peeing all over the floor like what is
- 40:01going on? So I was just like so.
- 40:04I felt overstimulated on that date.
- 40:06Yes, he was. He was so stressed.
- 40:08Yes. And he didn't want anyone to
- 40:10help him make his dinner. And then she got there and the
- 40:12conversation was really awkward. So there's so many awkward
- 40:15moments. Oh again, could be a little bit
- 40:18of editing, but also I was like I.
- 40:21Can't Who's the redhead girl in Utah?
- 40:24Emma So on her dates, there were times where I had to Fast
- 40:28forward because it's just them standing there not talking a lot
- 40:30of times. I feel like they need to give
- 40:32them some guidance of like when they first meet up, like let's
- 40:36go for a walk. Like why are we having people
- 40:38stand and talk not at like a coffee shop, not like there's
- 40:44nothing like they don't even have emotional support water
- 40:46bottles. Like I I would feel awkward just
- 40:49standing there with a brand new person making small talk.
- 40:53Yeah, yeah, Yeah. Well, I guess it makes for good
- 40:55TV. They maybe would think like
- 40:57there was time, one time with Logan when he went to the one
- 40:59place where there were the snattle snakes, rattlesnakes.
- 41:03Rattlesnakes. Yeah.
- 41:04Reasoner. And there's a part where he's
- 41:06like, he tells her, close your eyes, don't look.
- 41:09And he's walking and not helping her.
- 41:10So she's just walking her eyes. And then Keenan was like, you
- 41:15might want to hold her hand. He's like, Oh my God.
- 41:16Yeah, so. I forgot it is so good.
- 41:22So funny. Yeah, there's so many funny
- 41:24parts. I almost wrote down a list of
- 41:26things, so I was like, Oh my God, there's so many things I
- 41:28need to talk to Kate about. Another season of that.
- 41:31Yes. There's got to be I hope.
- 41:33I would love to see you the next season now that Georgie and
- 41:36Connor are broken up and Georgie is in a new relationship now.
- 41:40I saw it on Instagram. Connor, I feel like has had
- 41:45since season 1 so much growth that I feel like now like dating
- 41:50because it's like with people are like so sad that him and
- 41:54Georgie broke up and stuff like that.
- 41:55I'm like, it's his first relationship.
- 41:57Like I'm so glad that they gave both of them an experience to
- 42:00date and to like get out of their comfort zones and you
- 42:04know, but I, I think it was a great call.
- 42:06They you could tell they were definitely not made for each
- 42:08other. And he's had so much growth that
- 42:11I want to see him like dating now.
- 42:12I'd love to see him because in the beginning he was so
- 42:15sheltered and so like easily stressed that I remember on his
- 42:19first one, like right in front of the girl when you could like
- 42:22check off yes or no if you like, like them and like right in
- 42:25front of the girl. He's just like writing X on no.
- 42:28And I'm like, oh, no, Connor, you can't do that.
- 42:31Where now I feel like he's got all like the nuances of dating
- 42:34down that we need to see a whole.
- 42:37I mean, there should just be a short show on Connor.
- 42:40But seriously, like when he gets a little tipsy off a little
- 42:43beer. Sassy.
- 42:44He's like, he's like, Oh my gosh, it was.
- 42:51And again, could be editing, but was that one beer that he was
- 42:54like? He was like chugging it down.
- 42:56Oh my God. And he was like, really?
- 42:58You could see, I could even see his eyes turning, like his
- 43:00pupils getting bigger, like people are someone watching him
- 43:04because I feel like he could just go off.
- 43:07Totally. Yeah.
- 43:08Oh my gosh. Update.
- 43:10Did I tell you guys the last podcast about my bird feeders?
- 43:15We talked about this. You got in?
- 43:16Yeah. I might have over committed what
- 43:19we have. We have 44.
- 43:21In the same area. On our deck.
- 43:24Have you seen any? Birds, Bethany Have I seen any
- 43:27birds? It is a bird sanctuary out
- 43:29there. We have so many types of birds.
- 43:32They're on there right now. We've had woodpeckers, we've had
- 43:36yellow finches, we've had Cardinals, we've had all of
- 43:40these different types of birds and it is bringing us so much
- 43:43joy. Wait, take your phone.
- 43:45Take a picture of what's over there now.
- 43:47OK, well I will just show you. I have a couple of saved videos
- 43:50that I can show you. That you have to send me these
- 43:53birds. I would love to be in some part
- 43:57of my life, a bird watcher where that's just what I do.
- 44:00So. Oh my God.
- 44:03I know they're just a little yellow pinches.
- 44:07That's just one of the bird feeders.
- 44:09And then I've got a video of the woodpecker on another one.
- 44:15I know. Oh look, it's fine up on it.
- 44:18Oh my God, I did not wait for you guys to experience it in
- 44:21August because oh, and then we put our stool in front of the
- 44:24door the other day for Jessie to just look out and watch.
- 44:28But we're constantly now because, well, I should say we
- 44:32have 3 bird feeders out on the deck and one of them is a
- 44:34Hummingbird feeder. I think it's a little early for
- 44:37hummingbirds here, but I'm like, I'll put it out and hopefully
- 44:39they'll find it. And then we have one out front
- 44:41on the tree that we're just calling the squirrel feeder.
- 44:44And I think that that's helping keep the squirrels from the deck
- 44:47ones because we've only seen 1 squirrel trying to get it on the
- 44:50deck. That was the only thing I was
- 44:51like, I do not want a deck just covered in squirrels.
- 44:55Oh my God. I'd be sending the dogs out
- 44:57there to chase them off, but so the front one's just kind of
- 45:00turned into the squirrel feeder and these, our birds are
- 45:03thriving. You know, I feel like you should
- 45:05get some even just so you could see it out your front window.
- 45:09I've tried it before and they didn't come to that one, they
- 45:11came to the one in the back. But I should put, I should try
- 45:14and again do. Do it like in a stand a little
- 45:16bit like in because did you try putting it like on your tree or
- 45:20where did you try? No, it was like there's a hook
- 45:24in our house. So I had it hanging from that
- 45:27like on our front porch poster to the front porch.
- 45:29Yeah, OK. Yeah.
- 45:30Maybe put it like actually in your yard, like buy your tree or
- 45:35something in a stake so that they can like kind of jump from
- 45:38the tree to their bird feeder. But literally I had to get
- 45:41another one just because I wanted to be able to see it.
- 45:43If I'm in the kitchen, I want to see one.
- 45:45If I'm on the chair, I want to see one.
- 45:47And if I'm right here, I want to see one.
- 45:48So now it's I see them at all points.
- 45:52I think that is one of the best things ever because you were
- 45:54like bringing little moments of joy throughout your day.
- 45:57Because you never know what you're going to see.
- 45:59I was driving in earlier. I went on an outing and I drove
- 46:01in. They were nuts.
- 46:03And I just like feel every time I'm pulling in, I'm like, I
- 46:06wonder what's going to be on there.
- 46:08Yes, that is the case. And I were like, look, look,
- 46:11look the other day and we're like, is this what like mid 30s
- 46:14is, is like these are the things you're super excited about?
- 46:18Yes, because I felt it my last few years of my 30s.
- 46:23I think so. I think it's all things like
- 46:25slowing down, being like present in something, you know, It's
- 46:29gotta be that. It has to be because it is.
- 46:32Just so there's this. I will say there's a couple of
- 46:35birds that I'm getting a little annoyed with.
- 46:36They're seeming to bully my other my little yellow finches,
- 46:40so trying to figure that one out.
- 46:42But they look like. What do the bullies look like?
- 46:44They're kind of, they're bigger. They're not quite as big as I
- 46:47just saw one out there. They're not quite as big as the
- 46:51woodpecker, but they're very deep brown.
- 46:53They're actually a really pretty like brown bird, but they Peck
- 46:58at the yellow ones. I thought getting more fingers
- 47:02would fix that, but it's just made everyone more wild.
- 47:06Oh my gosh. It is so fun.
- 47:08That is so fun, I'm so happy. My goal is to be, now that it's
- 47:11getting warmer out, to be able to put the cushions out there
- 47:13and then start to trust coming up to the feeder while I'm out
- 47:16there. While you're sitting out there,
- 47:17you're. Gonna sit there still because
- 47:20they have such good vision. If we start to, they're already
- 47:22getting better. Listen to me.
- 47:23I'm like, they're my pets. But like when we first put them
- 47:27out there, if we walked up to even just the window, like the
- 47:30sliding glass door, they all fly off.
- 47:32Now I can walk up to it and they stay.
- 47:35But if I do go to open the door, understandably they hear like
- 47:38the latch they have to playoff. So I just need to start like
- 47:41sitting out there really still and just blinking a little bit.
- 47:45Oh my God, what if one lands on your head like.
- 47:48They'll be amazing. I love birds so much.
- 47:50I want to start like putting my finger out there, like seeing a
- 47:54thing like with I'll Be Snow White and they land on my
- 47:57finger. I'm telling you, once you you're
- 48:00going to, once you name one of them that keeps coming back,
- 48:03that's it. It's done.
- 48:05That's done. I will say with our windows, we
- 48:08are used to having birds hit them and fall on top of the
- 48:12pergola. But and that was always sad, but
- 48:16one of the yellow ones did and that was that feels sad because
- 48:21I'm like now I love like now they're like the family, the
- 48:25window. So there's on the pergola,
- 48:27there's a dead yellow one. Do you ever have you ever
- 48:31thought about this where like because you did your insect
- 48:33book? By the way, I have the full
- 48:36thing to read to you guys. That's right.
- 48:40OK, Well, have you ever like the other day, like one time I when
- 48:43I was going in the car and I'm driving away and there's a
- 48:46lizard in the hood or like on the window and I immediately
- 48:50think, Oh my God, I'm taking him away from his family.
- 48:54OK, You ever thought that? Yeah, I would think more of
- 48:56like, Oh my gosh, if he flies off like while I'm driving,
- 49:00yeah, he's is he gonna like survive the like if I have like
- 49:04AI don't have lizards, but I've had it before where like a
- 49:07dragonfly is has landed on my windshield and I'm like at least
- 49:10they can fly. But like should I stop and try
- 49:13to get him off so that they can like?
- 49:17Oh, see, I think it's going. To end up in.
- 49:18That different community and who knows what these communities are
- 49:22like. This is where my mind goes.
- 49:24Oh, that makes a lot of sense. But we don't have lizards.
- 49:25I'm sure I would think that because I don't have anything I
- 49:27can think of. It's like there's not like a
- 49:28squirrel sitting on my like that's like I that's like the
- 49:32closest thing I think that we have to lizards is like
- 49:35squirrels. What?
- 49:37No. I know.
- 49:40But like, you see lizards, like we see squirrels.
- 49:42That's kind of what I mean. Like there's like lizards
- 49:44running all over the place. There's just squirrels running
- 49:46all over the place. I don't see, thank goodness,
- 49:48mice running all over. The place.
- 49:49Oh, yeah, By the way, you were terrified.
- 49:51That's a fear of yours. Irrational.
- 49:54So Casey, gosh, the other day Casey was doing an update of
- 49:59something down in our basement that he needed to like get the
- 50:01exhaust pipe from our water heater.
- 50:04I don't know, something to the outside.
- 50:06So he had to like go into like the roofing part of, I don't
- 50:10know, something that had a dead mouse was up there.
- 50:14It's the outdoor portion of the lip of our roof basically.
- 50:19And so he's like, I need your help just holding this pipe
- 50:23while I'm doing something. And I said, is the dead mouse
- 50:26still up there? He's like, yeah.
- 50:27But Kate, I'm like, no, I'm out. I'm not doing it.
- 50:31Like I can't, I can't even see it.
- 50:33I will even if it like I can't do it.
- 50:36You can't even see it. No does.
- 50:39It make me want to just like run away.
- 50:41It makes me want to literally cut, crawl out of my skin.
- 50:45I get it. It makes me, it is so
- 50:48irrational. I get so panicked that I'm the
- 50:52honestly dead mouse. Mice are worse for me than live
- 50:55mice. I don't, I don't know, I don't
- 50:58want to see it. Like I literally think it's
- 51:00going to come back to life while it's like laying there.
- 51:03I I don't know it is, I can't see it.
- 51:05I also don't want to be that close to a dead animal.
- 51:08Like like my eyes are right there.
- 51:11And so I was like, I'm not, I can't.
- 51:13And he's like, Kate, I really need your help in this night.
- 51:16Clear out the dead mouse. So I'm like, call, call me back
- 51:19when you're ready. So I told him that was a strong
- 51:23boundary for me and I I stuck to.
- 51:25It because we don't care. I don't care.
- 51:27I don't care. I don't care for my.
- 51:30Husband OK, I don't care. I didn't read it.
- 51:33I I was like, I'm gonna wait till like I've read it obviously
- 51:35before, but I haven't read it since.
- 51:38And so I was like your child. No, like I've read it probably
- 51:41like a year, a year and a half ago when I saw it at my parents.
- 51:44But like my sister took pictures of all of it when she was
- 51:46visiting for me. So it's called little buggy.
- 51:50So to update, it was not about a snail.
- 51:52It's about a little bug and I couldn't remember.
- 51:55I know I was talking to you guys about how it was like about
- 51:58something with this bug's weight.
- 52:01I thought it was about being bigger, but it's about being
- 52:03really small. But clearly I was just trying to
- 52:06like, reverse how I was feeling. OK.
- 52:08Little Buggy. Written and illustrated by
- 52:10Caitlin Marie Kane. Candy Cane Books.
- 52:13LLC. Like I have a whole publishing
- 52:16page. I should probably shouldn't put
- 52:17my ad, my parents address on there Dedication.
- 52:20I dedicate this book to my mom because when I was younger she
- 52:23would always read me my favorite children's books and it meant a
- 52:26lot to me. Thanks, mom.
- 52:27I love you. Oh, that's so cute.
- 52:31All right, here we go. I'll try to go through this
- 52:33quickly. Have you ever been made fun of
- 52:35because of your size? Well, Marsha the bug knows very
- 52:39well how that is. Marsha is the smallest bug in
- 52:42her school. She has bright blue eyes and
- 52:46starry eyelashes. How cute.
- 52:48Starry. Look at this illustration of
- 52:50this toilet. Oh, she's so.
- 52:53Tangy on the toilet. She gets made fun of every day
- 52:57by her classmates. She comes home and balls in her
- 53:01bathroom. Marsha has no clue why people
- 53:04won't just be her friend whenever she goes to school.
- 53:10She doesn't have confidence to play or talk to other bugs.
- 53:13Marcia knows they won't accept her.
- 53:15When Marcia wanted to be taller, she tried a lot of things.
- 53:20This is her on the outskirts while everyone's playing, Not
- 53:23with Marcia. Yeah, she tried wearing lots of
- 53:27socks, taller hair, jumping every second, and wearing high
- 53:32heels. Oh.
- 53:34My God. This is depressing.
- 53:37When Marsha goes to school wearing her mom's high heels,
- 53:40people stare at her meanly and rude because they think she
- 53:43looks dumb. Oh my God.
- 53:44I think I. Need to go to therapy for this.
- 53:47She always sits alone at lunch and has a frown on her face.
- 53:51She tries to hide her face so no one will see her frowning face.
- 53:56Every day for a week she wore heels but other bugs never
- 54:00noticed. Her mom tells her to go to
- 54:02school normally and see what happens.
- 54:05Sweetie go to school normally I love you.
- 54:07OK mom. Marsha goes to school normally
- 54:11and that didn't help. They just ignored her like
- 54:13nothing happened. Little Marsha tried anything she
- 54:18could to do to make herself look taller and bigger.
- 54:20She was so uncomfortable and wished they would accept her for
- 54:23who she is. She stopped wearing high heels
- 54:26and jumping every second. Marsha would jump all the time
- 54:29to appear tall, but she didn't like doing that at all.
- 54:32She wanted to think of a way to make people accept her.
- 54:35Marsha thinks. And then she realizes I have to
- 54:38introduce myself to show people it doesn't matter what you look
- 54:41like. Hi, my name is Marsha, I'm
- 54:45eleven years old. And the girl replied.
- 54:47Hi, I'm Fantasia. Aren't you the girl that gets
- 54:50made fun of? Yes, says Marsha.
- 54:53Sadly. I think that is rude, explains
- 54:56Fantasia. Thank you, Fantasia.
- 54:58You're welcome, Marsha. Marsha thinks about it, is glad
- 55:02she introduced herself to Fantasia, She wants to meet more
- 55:05people like her. Then I drew some more pictures.
- 55:08Marsha and Fantasia played at each other's golden brown logs
- 55:12every day after Red Gold Mound Bucky School.
- 55:15They both enjoyed playing with each other.
- 55:19Marcia's mom was happy to see Marcia playing with other bugs.
- 55:23Marcia called her mom. Yes mom, I'm happy to see you
- 55:27playing with Fantasia. Exclaimed her mom.
- 55:29Thanks mom, I'm happy too, Said Marcia.
- 55:33Marcia's mom is very nice. She made them both leave patties
- 55:36for lunch, which is Marcia's favorite.
- 55:39Fantasia enjoyed going over to Marcia's log because her family
- 55:43is so nice. They didn't care if people would
- 55:46make fun of them for being friends because they like each
- 55:48other. Marcia and Fantasia became great
- 55:51friends. Marcia finds introducing herself
- 55:53to other bugs is all right and they will accept her for who she
- 55:56is. When you see someone or
- 55:58something, get to know them first before you judge them by
- 56:01their appearance. The End.
- 56:05Wow. Like tell me that I'm not
- 56:09speaking about something without telling me.
- 56:12Telling me. Oh my gosh, you want to?
- 56:15See a picture of 7th grade Kate. Yes.
- 56:22Oh, this was. Weird, look at my space between
- 56:28my teeth. Oh my gosh, then I had a hole.
- 56:33About the Author collection. Oh my gosh.
- 56:37Oh. You wrote this when you were in
- 56:387th grade. I yeah, I guess I was. 1211.
- 56:4511-O Hold on. How old did I say it was?
- 56:49I wrote it in here. I don't remember that.
- 56:53I had to have been. Yeah, I was like 11.
- 56:55Is that 7th grade? Must have been.
- 56:58I don't. I'm not sure.
- 57:02I don't know, but I mean, I put that picture in here, that's got
- 57:06to be like an 11 year old, right?
- 57:07I don't know. Well, that looks 11 year old.
- 57:10Yeah, but I don't know what anyway.
- 57:12I'm a 7th grader so I was in 7th grade, so whatever you are in
- 57:157th grade, that's my bug book. Who did you know named Marsha?
- 57:21Did you just come up with that name?
- 57:23And no one. Wow.
- 57:27I just, that's just what was in my brain.
- 57:29Oh. My gosh.
- 57:31Gosh, yeah. So that was it's sad, but.
- 57:35Also, it is sad. It's.
- 57:37Really sad. Wow.
- 57:38Well, I'm glad that you're like really confident now because
- 57:40otherwise I'd be like, are you OK?
- 57:42Like, you know. This to us.
- 57:45Blink twice if you don't feel safe.
- 57:48The bug story. The bug story?
- 57:52Yeah. Did you like my green fabric
- 57:55cover? Loved.
- 57:57Yeah, I'm telling you, the special touches were everything.
- 57:59Candy cane. Books.
- 58:01I mean, hello, entrepreneur at its finest.
- 58:04I genuinely think you need to write, whether it's a children's
- 58:07book or just like a fiction, something short like that, just
- 58:14whatever comes to your brain. And like that, first draft is
- 58:17your book. The first.
- 58:19Draft. Yep, I would love to read your
- 58:21first draft but look at what you did with the lizards.
- 58:24Like that's just like, it had to have been just a brain dump.
- 58:27Oh. But it was so creative.
- 58:30Well, I love that 'cause I can piece stuff together like, oh, I
- 58:33think. About it judgy lizards, judgy
- 58:35lizards mentally gear. I wouldn't have thought like
- 58:38even the ripped out pieces of paper, I was like, I love how
- 58:41that. Looks deliberate.
- 58:43I had a lot of little bitch pieces, yeah.
- 58:45So good. Yeah, You just need to write
- 58:47like a 25 short, 25 page book, whatever comes to your brain.
- 58:53And I would love to read it. OK, cuz I, I do have I told you
- 58:56about the Lizzie, the ladybug, which the other day I saved a
- 59:01little Caterpillar that was in my kitchen, put it into one of
- 59:05our garden beds. And I had that thought of like,
- 59:07Oh my God, he's in a whole different community now.
- 59:09Like, where are his parents? And then I was when I put him
- 59:12down, I was thinking, Oh my God, I could write like from the
- 59:16perspective of like the little Caterpillar or or ladybugs.
- 59:19The ladybug landed on my finger the other day at lunch
- 59:22yesterday. Sign obviously.
- 59:24Yeah, and it's. I need you to write it.
- 59:26Yeah, two birds just landed in this Bush outside, so I
- 59:28obviously need go get. A bird feeder, Yeah, I will do
- 59:31that. I'm going to send you the bird
- 59:32feeder that we ordered. I.
- 59:34Need that one. That has been the most popular.
- 59:36OK. There's two that we got that
- 59:38have been so super popular and I will actually say they've been
- 59:42pretty squirrel proof. OK so do you got it on the
- 59:45Amazon? Oh OK cuz I got mine from the
- 59:48Ace Hardware and I had to put a little block of something.
- 59:51I don't think they like that. Oh yeah, I know what type you're
- 59:53talking about. Yeah, we didn't have, we did one
- 59:56of those I think last year and we didn't have as good of luck
- 59:58with that. Literally only thing that wanted
- 1:00:00it was. Squirrels.
- 1:00:01OK, that was our problem. Is like bird seed.
- 1:00:04You have to fill it. It's perfect.
- 1:00:06I would love that. I want nothing more than just
- 1:00:09didn't watch birds. Like technically, can your
- 1:00:12chickens eat bird seed? I don't think like, I mean, I
- 1:00:17have them on some bougie chicken food.
- 1:00:20Like would it be bad for them if they got a little bit?
- 1:00:22I don't think so. Because I even feel like if you
- 1:00:24put in a steak, like to keep your dogs out in where your
- 1:00:28chickens are and then like put one of your feeders on top,
- 1:00:31they're just some of it would obviously fall.
- 1:00:33But that would be so nice for you to be able to watch them
- 1:00:35from your back porch. Yeah, because that's what I
- 1:00:37would love. Yeah, I feel like since the dogs
- 1:00:40obviously you can't get into the chicken area, you'd obviously
- 1:00:42have to do your research of like, if my chickens eat this,
- 1:00:45will it be OK? Yeah, well, it's just the
- 1:00:47squirrels that were just ruining the whole experience.
- 1:00:50But I ever tell you when I was a little girl, how my mom would
- 1:00:52take me to Park Ave. and I would take.
- 1:00:55Birds if she started young. Oh, yeah, She would take me over
- 1:00:58there. I love that.
- 1:00:59Yeah. And we would be like in the
- 1:01:01field or the green area. I would have.
- 1:01:04You can't see me. I would have bird feet in my
- 1:01:05hands. Put them out beside me.
- 1:01:07Pigeons. No.
- 1:01:09Would jump on my hands and arms. Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 1:01:14Why doesn't anyone do that anymore?
- 1:01:15I feel like did they like tell you to not do it?
- 1:01:19It's probably frowned upon I would think.
- 1:01:22Just creating like a pigeon frenzy.
- 1:01:24Yeah, because I think people in like New York call them like
- 1:01:27flying rats. Oh, yeah, And I saw some people
- 1:01:30were fighting against that, Yeah.
- 1:01:33Oh my God, we were just like a little pigeon collar at a young
- 1:01:37age. I'm telling you, the one time
- 1:01:39when I saved a bird when I was going into the sauna, did I tell
- 1:01:42you that? I disagreed with you as if I
- 1:01:45knew what you're talking about. You're rubbing off on me.
- 1:01:48Well, when I was going into this place, it was like a, you go in
- 1:01:50and it's a infrared sauna place. So you like rent a little
- 1:01:54cubicle and outside there was a bird that I thought was like
- 1:01:57dead. And so I'm like, Oh my God.
- 1:01:59I go inside, ask for a box, put it in the box, take it into the
- 1:02:02room. I paid a little extra to be in a
- 1:02:04room that also has a shower so I could try to do the cold plunge
- 1:02:07and sauna experience. You brought the bird into the.
- 1:02:10OK, it was a news story. OK, so it was it was closed and
- 1:02:14there was a girl in the front and she was younger.
- 1:02:16And so she was like, oh, sure. Like, you know, she's not the
- 1:02:18owner, obviously. So OK, so bring it in.
- 1:02:21It starts fluttering in the box. It's alive because birds don't
- 1:02:25just, like, die. They just, they play dead, I
- 1:02:27think. Because it's fluttering around
- 1:02:30because they hit last. Yeah.
- 1:02:32And then luckily this one came too.
- 1:02:34Yes, because I was saved it because another bird was like
- 1:02:37going after it. Oh my.
- 1:02:39Anyway, so what'd you do with it?
- 1:02:41Just brought up and opened it, flew out.
- 1:02:43Yeah, opened it. It flew away.
- 1:02:44Oh good. I'll tell you one more time,
- 1:02:46because this is going to go. Into like we could flower land.
- 1:02:49More bird stories too, but we'll end on yours.
- 1:02:51OK, so one time I was working with a chocolate lab.
- 1:02:56His bird hunting instinct was strong.
- 1:02:58Hers. Oh, I'm doing long line recall
- 1:03:02with her outside of the dog park.
- 1:03:03She catches a bird in her mouth, holds it in her mouth.
- 1:03:08Soft. Soft.
- 1:03:10OK. That's good soft out.
- 1:03:13I don't know what I said, but I like.
- 1:03:15Like. I call my friend who's into
- 1:03:20animal stuff like with the other chickens and I'm like, what do I
- 1:03:22do? Like, so I call this exotic
- 1:03:26animal place, take the bird to this place, but I'm sure that
- 1:03:31they're not like doing surgery on a random pigeon, you know, So
- 1:03:35I but anyway, it made me feel better that I took it to the
- 1:03:38place. Yes.
- 1:03:39Cuz it was not to like make this about E collars, but like this
- 1:03:45is how we are about animals. Like we will try to save a bird.
- 1:03:50I had, which is again, wild. I had fancy mice growing up,
- 1:03:54which I'm irrationally I I think that's the problem.
- 1:03:57I think that ruined it for me as I look at them as like a pet.
- 1:04:02Yeah, and just that specific kind.
- 1:04:04But then like, I don't want them in my I don't know.
- 1:04:07But I had mice and their names were Laverne and Shirley.
- 1:04:10And Shirley got sick and I went to go bring her also to an
- 1:04:15exotic pet situation. My mom, you know, 'cause I'm
- 1:04:18bawling. And I was like, well, we can go
- 1:04:20bring, bring it in. And I think they looked at me as
- 1:04:23if I was insane because they're just like, it's, it's a mouse.
- 1:04:26Like, what are you going to do? And like, there was no help.
- 1:04:30Like she was, she was going to be dying.
- 1:04:32And so they're like, oh, like we can take her and like put her
- 1:04:34down. They fed it to a snake.
- 1:04:36I'm sure there's no way they like took and put this mouse
- 1:04:39down like and. Yeah, like played some Enya
- 1:04:41music. Yeah, no.
- 1:04:42No, they didn't do any sort of like I didn't get a paw print
- 1:04:44sent in the mail of like my little mouse.
- 1:04:48But I'm like, the little thing was I, I will even try to like
- 1:04:51not hit a Caterpillar if I'm like, if I get driving because
- 1:04:55they're crazy around here in the fall.
- 1:04:57When you're driving, you see it, oh, on the road.
- 1:04:59Yeah, on the road. Like they're the fuzzy one.
- 1:05:03You can see that from your car. Yeah.
- 1:05:06You have like Superman eyesight. What is this?
- 1:05:09I don't know. I can see them.
- 1:05:10Yes. Oh.
- 1:05:11My God. Yeah.
- 1:05:13Or if I'm like walking, I like clearly, obviously avoid walking
- 1:05:16over them. But I'm also if I see a car
- 1:05:18coming, I'm like please, please don't hit it.
- 1:05:21Please don't hit it like OK, one last story.
- 1:05:25Did I ever tell you about when we had shadow students and Casey
- 1:05:27was bringing his camera getting some footage of this?
- 1:05:30It must have been like a fall, like one of my last shadow
- 1:05:34students things before the winter.
- 1:05:37The caterpillars were out like crazy.
- 1:05:39We're out working on a walk and again, Casey's filming and he
- 1:05:42just, but he's like oh, this cute Caterpillar.
- 1:05:44He's like I'm going to get a little bit of footage of it.
- 1:05:46So he's like down getting footage of it. 2 seconds later a
- 1:05:49car comes and runs over it. No.
- 1:05:51Yes, we're all just like all of us are like, like what?
- 1:05:57So Casey literally captured this caterpillar's last couple
- 1:06:03seconds on earth. Oh my God, I know.
- 1:06:06Imagine. Yes, I can 'cause I was there.
- 1:06:10What happened? Oh, my God.
- 1:06:13Yeah. Well, like when I took the
- 1:06:14chickens to the exotic place, you know, and Bobby was like,
- 1:06:17what was it? Do they think you were weird?
- 1:06:19Hi Casey. Did they think it was weird that
- 1:06:23you brought a chicken in? And I was like, no, someone had
- 1:06:26a porcupine and like a little thing next to me.
- 1:06:28Another person had like what is it a weasel or something on a
- 1:06:32harness? A weasel.
- 1:06:33A ferret. A ferret on a harness.
- 1:06:35I'm like. Yeah, you're like, no, my
- 1:06:37chicken was nothing. No, the porcupine is what who's
- 1:06:42just finding like is this an their pet?
- 1:06:45Oh yeah, they had it very snug in like a little, I think there
- 1:06:48was a blanket, probably a pillow in there too.
- 1:06:50Whoa. OK.
- 1:06:52Yeah. See chickens.
- 1:06:54Nothing. Nothing.
- 1:06:55Yeah, it's just a Tuesday. OK.
- 1:07:00All right. Well, as always, I loved talking
- 1:07:02to you. I know same.
- 1:07:03I'll be thinking about y'all. Tomorrow, yes, we're going to
- 1:07:06have our lizard vision board, our pretty flowers mice.
- 1:07:12Stanley, this will be my emotional support water bottle.
- 1:07:16Do you like the lid? I do, the only thing is
- 1:07:20sometimes water seeps out when I take a sip but it's fine but.
- 1:07:23I was going to say the sucker, which I don't.
- 1:07:25I don't it's a little weird to get used to.
- 1:07:28I have to. Really cup it with my upper lip.
- 1:07:32But I do love it. I do love that because I don't
- 1:07:35like looking at like after you take a sip, doesn't matter how
- 1:07:38clean you are, there's going to be some spit on there.
- 1:07:40I don't like seeing that. For sure.
- 1:07:42Well, and also I like that. Like I can drop it and it's not
- 1:07:45water going everywhere. Yeah, same.
- 1:07:47Yeah, OK, cool. Well, thank you for it.
- 1:07:50I'm so thoughtful. You're the most thoughtful.
- 1:07:53Yes, that is true. OK, I will make sure to there's
- 1:07:57a red cardinal on. I can't turn because I have you
- 1:08:00on a stand, but I'll try to take a little video and.
- 1:08:03Then take a video. Yeah, I'm going to go.
- 1:08:06Hi, everybody. Up to date on my bird
- 1:08:08chronicles. Hold on, I'm going to show you.
- 1:08:11Let me see. I feel like red birds because
- 1:08:17they're so striking. They feel like such a special,
- 1:08:20yes, symbolic thing. Yeah, I know for some people
- 1:08:23like Cardinals, similar like what Hawks are for you like how
- 1:08:27people are showing up for. Them Oh, I had one.
- 1:08:30Can I say one more thing? Of course I don't know you.
- 1:08:34My Co hosts have more things than me.
- 1:08:35I have I'm gardening and making cards or vision boards.
- 1:08:40But so my friend Laura, she has this thing where cuz when after
- 1:08:45my dad passed away, I got really into signs and like there's a
- 1:08:48book on it and stuff. And I met up with her and she
- 1:08:52lost her mom like 10 years ago or something.
- 1:08:54And she came up with the idea that her mom's sign was a red
- 1:09:00bird. And then another thing she did
- 1:09:02cuz she's single and she said the thing she wants to look for
- 1:09:06as like a sign or whenever you think about these things, to me
- 1:09:10it like felt like, Oh my gosh, that's so cool.
- 1:09:12Where her sign for like the person that she's supposed to be
- 1:09:15with, it's going to be like a red balloon.
- 1:09:17Can you imagine if like the person she gets with actually
- 1:09:21there's something about a red balloon?
- 1:09:23Would that not be the coolest? That would be.
- 1:09:25I'm also thinking like how unique that could show up too,
- 1:09:29right? It's not going to be a person
- 1:09:32carrying a red balloon down the street.
- 1:09:33Maybe, yeah, but I bet you it'll be something like very little
- 1:09:38and like covert. Yes, something.
- 1:09:42Like that indiscreet. Oh my.
- 1:09:44Gosh, what could that be? A story he tells about a red
- 1:09:48balloon. Yes, OK, OK.
- 1:09:49Something like that. Well, I'm trying to think of
- 1:09:54like not that say he was like wrapped a present and he's like,
- 1:09:58this is all the wrapping paper I had.
- 1:10:00It's and it's just it has a red balloon on it.
- 1:10:04I just got chills. See, this is it hasn't even
- 1:10:06happened, but that storyline. I love it.
- 1:10:10I even when I see a red balloon, I look around if there's a male
- 1:10:13because what if it's like through you?
- 1:10:14Send her a picture and be like, I found him, yeah.
- 1:10:17There's a red balloon hanging from the tree.
- 1:10:19I think you should be here. That's what I'm going to say.
- 1:10:21OK, that also reminds me of Sarah.
- 1:10:25Yeah, he's pet nanny. When she came to the first
- 1:10:28trainer, her first trainer and you and we were like acting like
- 1:10:31we were going to hook her up with your mailman.
- 1:10:33And then this past one we're like, oh, let's see if she's has
- 1:10:35the same mailman. And then literally we're the
- 1:10:38trainer and you had ended and we saw on a like phone poll
- 1:10:43something about like grab this number.
- 1:10:45This person is looking for their partner.
- 1:10:48And I literally take a video and send it to all of the girls that
- 1:10:53came to the trainer. And you know, like Sarah call
- 1:10:55the number and she literally responds back, Kate, he's
- 1:11:01looking for a man. I'm like, oh, sorry, I didn't
- 1:11:04read that detail, but I just saw the sign and I'm like, Sarah,
- 1:11:07this this might be your person. Also, I don't think she's going
- 1:11:09to find her person on a grab this person's number.
- 1:11:12Yeah, that would. You'd have to have a drink
- 1:11:15before or something I would think.
- 1:11:16Major vetting happening with that, yeah.
- 1:11:18But it was thought that counted. I was thinking about you 'cause
- 1:11:22you notice a lot of things. I don't know if we already said
- 1:11:25this, but like when we were East End and like you looked up at
- 1:11:28this one fan, you were like, would you even notice this fan
- 1:11:31if I didn't mention it right now?
- 1:11:32It was disgusting next to like. Wish I didn't know something so
- 1:11:36much. It had so much dirt and dust on
- 1:11:40it that I'm like, I'm just fixating on it and I'm just
- 1:11:43thinking like that's just blowing down on us right now and
- 1:11:46like on to our food like that. I wish I didn't think like that
- 1:11:49so much because I think it like well.
- 1:11:51It also comes through in good experiences as well that I
- 1:11:54notice. Oh yeah, I wonder.
- 1:11:55Why? There's some like, negative
- 1:11:56things I noticed I'm like, oh, did that just like ruin an
- 1:11:58experience for me? Oh, yeah.
- 1:12:00But I can kind of be like, whatever.
- 1:12:02Like never stopped me from eating poke, but you know what I
- 1:12:05mean? Yes.
- 1:12:07Yeah, I think about that when I was there the other day because
- 1:12:09I think I noticed one thing and I'm like, Oh my God.
- 1:12:12To live in a brain where you notice these things all the
- 1:12:14time, it would make me feel like, Oh no, like I just
- 1:12:19especially when it comes to like bad things or negative things.
- 1:12:21My kind of brain and that's the things like I feel like if Casey
- 1:12:24noticed that stuff too because you, you and him have a very
- 1:12:26similar way of like thinking like the random stuff that comes
- 1:12:30to your guys brain does not come to mind.
- 1:12:31Yeah. And so I've like that would
- 1:12:33sometimes be exhausting of like how you and him have like these
- 1:12:36thoughts that I'm like what? Like I would never have that
- 1:12:39thought. But the stuff that I noticed, I
- 1:12:42could understand why someone that has such like thoughts
- 1:12:46coming in and out of their brain at all times like you and Casey,
- 1:12:49that would probably be like, oh, no, I don't need another thing
- 1:12:51coming into like whatever's already going on.
- 1:12:54But me, I can like visualize something, see it, take it in,
- 1:12:58move on. Wow.
- 1:13:00It's so it's, it's just like so cool how different people's
- 1:13:03brains take an information, see things like digest them.
- 1:13:09Yeah, it's like, that's the thing with his like original
- 1:13:11podcast cover. It's like that's how my brain
- 1:13:15feels sometimes where it's very chaotic.
- 1:13:17That's that's why it was so hilarious because it's like the
- 1:13:19most random things that he didn't even notice.
- 1:13:23And like I immediately noticed everything like and I was like
- 1:13:26why is there death card? Why is there why is your head on
- 1:13:29a crystal ball? Do we really need 2 open signs
- 1:13:32like? And then the part of it was so
- 1:13:35funny because from being around y'all for three weeks, I could
- 1:13:38envision you saying that to him and him being like, Oh my God, I
- 1:13:41didn't even notice that that's. Exactly how it went.
- 1:13:44That's exactly how it went. Oh my gosh.
- 1:13:49OK, so this is basically a dog training podcast.
- 1:13:52Today we talked a little bit about training.
- 1:13:54Yes, we are dog trainers and this is our dog training
- 1:13:56podcast. Did you see that?
- 1:13:57Because you do you get alerts when you we get comments.
- 1:14:01No, I don't get alerts. And once in a while, like when
- 1:14:03you had told me there was a 'cause I went in and responded
- 1:14:05to a couple of my birthday messages and then I went to go
- 1:14:08back in a different time and, oh, there's a couple of new, one
- 1:14:13new tagline, basically a dog training podcast.
- 1:14:15OK, that's the first thing. I love that.
- 1:14:18Yeah, OK, no, it doesn't Alert me.
- 1:14:20And one other time I went into this app to go look at our
- 1:14:22comments. It was like, you need a request
- 1:14:25and I'm like, you already gave me permission, but then I went
- 1:14:28back in like the next day and it let me in.
- 1:14:30So. Oh, yeah, OK.
- 1:14:32Thanks for basically keeping up on all of the comments for us.
- 1:14:35But I do love going in and reading them.
- 1:14:37I don't get alerts on anything because Instagram keeps asking
- 1:14:40me if I want to turn on alerts. I'm like no, no, no, thank you.
- 1:14:44And do you get that thing? Like do you want to turn on
- 1:14:47alerts? I say no to pretty much all of
- 1:14:49those all. I don't get alerted when I get
- 1:14:51an e-mail. No same.
- 1:14:54I'm trying to think if there's anything that alerts me.
- 1:14:56It's just if like the cameras, but that's like it's so minimal,
- 1:14:59like the front door alerted me. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, but I gotta
- 1:15:02learn it with the comments, so I'll have to tell you when
- 1:15:03there's one. Yeah, yeah, so nice.
- 1:15:05We so appreciate y'all listening and we.
- 1:15:07Love it. Commenting so nice.
- 1:15:10And we have also appreciate the feedback because one of our
- 1:15:13trainer friends posted that she was listening to it in the car
- 1:15:16and I'm like, we're basically not talking dog training at all.
- 1:15:19And she's like, please keep it that way.
- 1:15:20So. I'm like, such a compliment.
- 1:15:23Yes, I love it. It's been so fun.
- 1:15:25Yeah, 'cause I keep thinking, and you said it the other day
- 1:15:27too. You were like, I can't wait to
- 1:15:28tell everyone on the podcast or something.
- 1:15:31Yeah, just updating on the bench.
- 1:15:32I just wanted people to know I couldn't wait.
- 1:15:36OK. All right.
- 1:15:37OK, I will talk. To you soon.
- 1:15:39I'll let you know how birdie surgery goes tomorrow, OK?
- 1:15:43And thank you for being the best.
- 1:15:44You too. Hey, I'll talk to you soon.
- 1:15:47Bye bye.
