Latest / FPL Pod / S3 Ep27: Off The Bench: Premiums continue to disappoint
Transcript
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:18Speaker 1: the Premier League.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I'm FBL Harry and.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I'm Oscar FBL Focal.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Well, we have just two weeks left. I'm not quite
- 0:25Speaker 1: sure where this season has gone. We are really into
- 0:28Speaker 1: the business end and most of us just have two
- 0:30Speaker 1: transfers left us between now and the end of the season,
- 0:33Speaker 1: so we've really got to make the most of them,
- 0:35Speaker 1: buying the right players and making the best decisions.
- 0:37Speaker 2: First of all, did you do that this week? How
- 0:39Speaker 2: did your game Week thirty six go?
- 0:41Speaker 3: It was one of my best gamings of the season.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Actually, yeah, loads went right where they kind of least
- 0:47Speaker 4: expected it to. So I got seventy seven points all out,
- 0:50Speaker 4: which took me up to three point four K. But yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 4: I mean, I'll be honest, I had some really jammy points,
- 0:55Speaker 4: Like i'd burn You've got eleven points. Oh you got
- 0:58Speaker 4: that assist for Bruno G's I Wambisaco he got twelve
- 1:01Speaker 4: points as Brace, Martinez and goal. So yeah, like my
- 1:07Speaker 4: back three in Keepra alone got thirty seven points. So yeah,
- 1:10Speaker 4: I mean, I'm happy to be finishing the season strongly.
- 1:12Speaker 4: And I guess you have a similar target, right of
- 1:15Speaker 4: top ten K, which is where you currently are as well, right,
- 1:17Speaker 4: But I saw he took a minus eight, didn't, Yarry,
- 1:19Speaker 4: can get a chip back to how.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Do you get?
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah? Probably one of the biggest and most memorable game
- 1:24Speaker 1: weeks of the season, not necessarily one of my best,
- 1:27Speaker 1: so yeah. Going into the deadline, I decided to take
- 1:29Speaker 1: a minus eight because I just got such Ken de
- 1:31Speaker 1: Bruyn fear. I just couldn't go into this week without him,
- 1:34Speaker 1: so I brought Ken de Bruyn, I bought Evannilson, and
- 1:37Speaker 1: I brought Wissa in from minus eight, who scored a
- 1:40Speaker 1: grand total of six points for my minus eight. So
- 1:43Speaker 1: that started off really well, and the rest of my
- 1:45Speaker 1: starting eleven didn't do very much at all. I got
- 1:48Speaker 1: thirty four points from my starting eleven, but luckily I
- 1:51Speaker 1: also played the bench bruge this week, which managed thirty
- 1:54Speaker 1: points on its own, which basically doubled my score. So
- 1:57Speaker 1: I had Ariola, sar Manors and Con on the bench.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And you might say, Harry, there's no way you're benching Minyals.
- 2:03Speaker 1: He's been one of the best defenders, but unfortunately I've
- 2:06Speaker 1: been holding double Nossingham Forest defense for this week. Alone
- 2:09Speaker 1: just for them to concede twice to Leicester. So I
- 2:12Speaker 1: was quite fortunate because I was very worried about that
- 2:14Speaker 1: double forest defense. I didn't expect very much from them,
- 2:17Speaker 1: but I just couldn't bench them playing against Esta, so
- 2:20Speaker 1: that the bench boost bailed me out of a pretty
- 2:23Speaker 1: horrific starting eleven and a not very good minor say
- 2:26Speaker 1: to get me. It was a small red in the end,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but yeah, it could have been a lot worse.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Well, I will say, is your bench boost went significantly
- 2:33Speaker 4: better than mine?
- 2:33Speaker 1: Right?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Do you get thirty off your bench yeah?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Thirty?
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, so he's mine.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Was that double game at thirty five or thereabouts and
- 2:40Speaker 4: I ended up getting four points from my bench boost.
- 2:43Speaker 4: That's when Bambasacker wasn't in the squad, Burns squed the
- 2:45Speaker 4: own goals. So I guess it was kind of like
- 2:47Speaker 4: a redemption arc this week with the double digitals that
- 2:51Speaker 4: they got.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean one of them.
- 2:54Speaker 1: We'll talk about the west Ham Mansion United game Ariola.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Manchester Uniteds were the biggest underperformers of XGI this weekend,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and actually the second highest biggest under performers with the
- 3:04Speaker 1: other Manchester team. Those two Manchester clubs created four XGI
- 3:08Speaker 1: between them and failed to score a single goal. So
- 3:11Speaker 1: I think as best we talk about what is probably
- 3:13Speaker 1: the biggest shock and surprise of the game week with
- 3:16Speaker 1: so much investment in it in Southampton nil and Manchester
- 3:20Speaker 1: City nil. I of course have said that I decided
- 3:22Speaker 1: to buy Kevin de Bruyn as part of a minus eight.
- 3:24Speaker 1: He was the second biggest underperformer of the game week,
- 3:28Speaker 1: creating one point one to eight expected goal involvement and
- 3:30Speaker 1: just to come away with a three pointer. I have
- 3:33Speaker 1: to say, though, looking at the game, it felt like
- 3:35Speaker 1: there was a lot of quantity rather than too much
- 3:38Speaker 1: quality for Manchester City.
- 3:40Speaker 2: In that game.
- 3:41Speaker 1: They created an awful lot of chances, but nothing really
- 3:43Speaker 1: broke sort of. I don't think their highest chance was
- 3:46Speaker 1: zero point two to five XGI in that game, which
- 3:50Speaker 1: doesn't feel nearly high enough for that game. Now, they
- 3:52Speaker 1: probably should have capitalized on something, but defensively they continued
- 3:56Speaker 1: to look really strong, but going forward just wasn't their day.
- 4:00Speaker 4: It's strange, isn't it that Southampton had almost been City's
- 4:02Speaker 4: bogey team? Was it one nil in the reverse fixture?
- 4:05Speaker 4: I think yeah, exactly, But yeah, kadib I really was
- 4:09Speaker 4: scared of him because I had the fomo as well
- 4:11Speaker 4: like you did, and I didn't buy him in the end,
- 4:13Speaker 4: but yeah, he took five shots over seven hundred thousand
- 4:16Speaker 4: people bought him. Understandab belief for such a great fixture,
- 4:20Speaker 4: but yeah, I mean zero point one one xg for
- 4:23Speaker 4: Southampton one point eight nine for man City, so crazy
- 4:27Speaker 4: for that to end nil nil Harland as well, like starting,
- 4:30Speaker 4: I'll be honest, I didn't predict that. I thought maybe
- 4:33Speaker 4: comes off the bench, gets some minutes a cameo before
- 4:35Speaker 4: the FA Cup final, but he started and he ended
- 4:38Speaker 4: up playing ninety plus as well, because obviously they were
- 4:40Speaker 4: chasing that goal.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But yeah, a bit of a poor game from him.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Didn't even shoot until about the ninety second minute, and
- 4:46Speaker 4: yeah mar Mooch benched as well.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah what do you think about mar Mousch now?
- 4:50Speaker 1: I of course I sold him this week as trying
- 4:52Speaker 1: to find a way to buy Kevin de boy in
- 4:53Speaker 1: this week feels like particularly because it's worth noting that
- 4:57Speaker 1: Manchester City played the FA Cup final after the game
- 5:00Speaker 1: week thirty seven deadline before they're born with a home fixture,
- 5:03Speaker 1: so lots could happen that in that FA Cup Final
- 5:06Speaker 1: that we won't know until after the FPL deadline.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So I feel like if you've got mar moves now,
- 5:12Speaker 2: there might be more pressing.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Things that people look at that they need to do
- 5:14Speaker 1: with their squads. But he feels like a real issue now,
- 5:17Speaker 1: particularly because he missed out. The only thing I would
- 5:19Speaker 1: say is I feel like they've missed him a little
- 5:21Speaker 1: bit in this game. They feel like they've missed a
- 5:22Speaker 1: bit of a runner. He's actually been, although not from
- 5:25Speaker 1: an FPL point of view, been pretty good recently, and
- 5:27Speaker 1: I'm not sure that Harland quite hit the ground running
- 5:30Speaker 1: that maybe Pep wanted him to. He needed minutes before
- 5:33Speaker 1: the FA Cup final and before the run in as well.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So I don't think it's all doom and gloom for
- 5:37Speaker 1: our moods, but I'd be pretty worried holding him now,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I think.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree as you say, like we're going in
- 5:42Speaker 4: a bit blind next game meet because it's the FA
- 5:44Speaker 4: Cup on the weekend and then the actual game meet
- 5:47Speaker 4: for them is on Tuesday, So yeah, we're a bit
- 5:49Speaker 4: blind in terms of what could happen in the FA Cup.
- 5:52Speaker 4: What is minutes like if he can predict he starts
- 5:54Speaker 4: again or not so. Yeah, I think it's a terrible
- 5:57Speaker 4: thing to keep him because it's born of home. But yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 4: he's a strange one's he has been pretty good, but
- 6:02Speaker 4: just not from FPO as you say, Like I captained
- 6:04Speaker 4: him in that double game week where he got four points.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I think I captained him against Wolves and he got
- 6:09Speaker 4: two points there as well. But yeah, he had an
- 6:11Speaker 4: impact when he came on, like he had that nice moment,
- 6:15Speaker 4: like an early touch shot across Ramsdelle. He came off
- 6:17Speaker 4: the crossbar and back. Yeah, it's tricky, isn't it, Like
- 6:21Speaker 4: where do you go with the fours? Because a lot
- 6:23Speaker 4: of the fours disappointed? Didn't they last game week?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Well, exactly like Wissa I bought Evan Nielsen, couldn't you.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I didn't do anything Olie Watkins, I'm sure as one
- 6:31Speaker 1: will talk about did. But Alexander Izac did and Chris
- 6:34Speaker 1: Wood got one goal. Meteta of course continuing to disappoint
- 6:38Speaker 1: and there aren't loads of forwards. So if you do
- 6:40Speaker 1: have marmus you're looking around, it might not actually be
- 6:43Speaker 1: the best week to go and to go and look
- 6:44Speaker 1: for replacement. The one thing at Manchester City that does
- 6:47Speaker 1: seem to be sticking at the moment, it's the clean
- 6:48Speaker 1: sheets and the defense. If you're one of those that
- 6:51Speaker 1: went on Guardio and Rippin Diaz as a double up,
- 6:54Speaker 1: you're laughing at everyone trying to predict the attack and
- 6:57Speaker 1: trying to predict is it going to be Marmose, Harlan
- 6:58Speaker 1: de Bruyn, Who's it going to be? Because they're just
- 7:00Speaker 1: rolling in clean sheets at the moment. Gavardi al outer
- 7:03Speaker 1: left back, which didn't do his bonus points any favors.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It was Ruben Diaz who decided to mop them up
- 7:08Speaker 1: this week. But maybe in hindsight, looking back at when
- 7:10Speaker 1: we all decided to try and buy a Savinio buyer
- 7:13Speaker 1: debroy and although de Bryn's been pretty good, maybe the
- 7:15Speaker 1: safest route was the Ruben Diaz Gavardi ol double up,
- 7:18Speaker 1: which has done so well again this week.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I mean, of course Katie Big got that eleven pointed
- 7:22Speaker 4: in the week before, but yeah, I mean, the real
- 7:26Speaker 4: winners in that game, especially with those double up on defense.
- 7:30Speaker 4: But yeah, as you said, he'sac blank. Do you want
- 7:31Speaker 4: to get that game out of the way. I know
- 7:32Speaker 4: you're a Chelsea fan.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, from a roller coaster FPL week to a roller
- 7:38Speaker 1: coaster football fan week as well as a Chelsea fan,
- 7:41Speaker 1: having managedter City drop points, then Chelsea unfortunately losing, and
- 7:45Speaker 1: then Forest dropping points as well, but asen Villa winning.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It was an all roller coaster weekend of football emotions
- 7:51Speaker 2: for me.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I have to admit, Yeah, unfortunately going down early against Newcastle,
- 7:56Speaker 1: they changed their system which Chelsea just really struggled to
- 7:58Speaker 1: deal with early on. They sort of played a which
- 8:01Speaker 1: with wing backs of living mental and Murphy Murphy getting
- 8:04Speaker 1: the assist. They just had so much time and space
- 8:06Speaker 1: early on in that game which we just couldn't get
- 8:08Speaker 1: near and that's where they created the first goal from.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And then the Jackson red card. The list said on
- 8:13Speaker 1: that I think the better at the moment, but from
- 8:16Speaker 1: when we were ten players down, we didn't really create enough.
- 8:19Speaker 1: We prayed we played a lot better than I thought
- 8:22Speaker 1: we would once we went down to ten men, but yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 1: we didn't create nearly enough chances and Newcastle kind of
- 8:27Speaker 1: just saw the game out in the second half without
- 8:29Speaker 1: letting us get too close to the goal. They had
- 8:31Speaker 1: a lot of the ball but didn't let us create
- 8:33Speaker 1: basically any chances. But from an FBL point of view,
- 8:36Speaker 1: defensively burned did well.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Livermento. At one point I was very worried for him.
- 8:40Speaker 1: He went down with what looked like a horrible injury,
- 8:42Speaker 1: but then twenty seconds later he was up and running around,
- 8:45Speaker 1: which was good for good to see for him. But
- 8:48Speaker 1: I think the main takeaway is Alexander Izak blanks and
- 8:52Speaker 1: it feels like he's been a little bit disappointing recently.
- 8:54Speaker 1: He's very highly owned, and it could be that if
- 8:57Speaker 1: you're chasing in your mini leagues, betting against Alexander Easac
- 9:00Speaker 1: now could be one of the ways to do it.
- 9:02Speaker 3: That's exactly what I'd written in my notes.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Is he the player the right one to sell if
- 9:06Speaker 4: you're chasing, because yeah, it's arsenal way next game, because
- 9:09Speaker 4: well Everton home Gami thirty eight. Obviously that one potentially
- 9:13Speaker 4: runs a bit of risk. There could be lots of
- 9:15Speaker 4: goals there. Everton haven't been bad in fairness, but yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 4: I think he's definitely one of the options because he's
- 9:19Speaker 4: so highly owned in the game and obviously in your league,
- 9:22Speaker 4: so he could be the one to sacrifice if you're chasing.
- 9:25Speaker 4: You know, Eazac to Watkins for example, could be a
- 9:28Speaker 4: move that really pays well. Yeah, that's Newcastle's twentieth win
- 9:31Speaker 4: of the season as well. The last time they won
- 9:33Speaker 4: twenty was two thousand and two h three and that
- 9:36Speaker 4: was FBO's first ever season. So unbelievable. How well Eddie
- 9:40Speaker 4: Howe's done. I mean, who do you reckon wins Manager
- 9:43Speaker 4: of the Season on a bit of a tangent like
- 9:45Speaker 4: how do you get Nuno slot?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Like Frank if they get Europe?
- 9:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it often goes in defaults to a
- 9:53Speaker 1: manager who ends up winning something, So it could end
- 9:56Speaker 1: up being Eddie Howe because of course they won the
- 9:58Speaker 1: Caravell carp or I think you'll probably end.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Up being Arnie Slot.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Although they're fading a little bit towards the end of
- 10:04Speaker 1: the season now that they've won the Premier League title.
- 10:06Speaker 1: If Newcastle ends up finishing in the top five, top four,
- 10:10Speaker 1: could even be top three at the way things are
- 10:12Speaker 1: going as well now, I definitely wouldn't rull it out
- 10:14Speaker 1: because they have looked very good and they've maintained their
- 10:17Speaker 1: momentum towards the end of the season. The only caveat
- 10:20Speaker 1: I'd put if you're looking to sell Newcastle players between
- 10:22Speaker 1: now and the end of the season is exactly that right.
- 10:25Speaker 1: They are one of the teams left in the Premier
- 10:27Speaker 1: League with something to play for, and it feels like
- 10:29Speaker 1: an awful lot to play for going away to Arsenal
- 10:31Speaker 1: that if they were to lose that game, they would
- 10:34Speaker 1: have to win on the final day in order to
- 10:36Speaker 1: get a Champions League spot most likely. So not only
- 10:38Speaker 1: is the Arsenal game absolutely huge for both the clubs
- 10:41Speaker 1: in there, because if Arsenal were to lose, although they're
- 10:44Speaker 1: not going to slip out of the Champions League places,
- 10:45Speaker 1: they might start slipping down the table a little bit.
- 10:48Speaker 1: So I do still think the Newcastle have a lot
- 10:50Speaker 1: to play for, and eazak Is is definitely a player
- 10:53Speaker 1: who's always at the focal point right. Although he didn't
- 10:56Speaker 1: get anything in these two goals, he was still in
- 10:58Speaker 1: and around it. He was still there. I think the
- 11:00Speaker 1: Tonali goal, if Tanali doesn't put it in, I think
- 11:03Speaker 1: Alexander is actually cuting up behind him to be the
- 11:05Speaker 1: one to score. So I do still like newcast Lassets
- 11:09Speaker 1: despite them going away to Arsenal, but I think Arsenal
- 11:12Speaker 1: showed their fragility going into this game with as well,
- 11:15Speaker 1: and after their Champions League game that they were a
- 11:18Speaker 1: little bit high just before we probably moved to that game.
- 11:20Speaker 1: A quick word on Chelsea, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest
- 11:24Speaker 1: again another club with a decent amount to play for
- 11:27Speaker 1: a little bit uncertainty about what the Jackson red card
- 11:30Speaker 1: will do to our lineup. It will probably put Netto
- 11:33Speaker 1: up front and we'll probably see Sancho come back into
- 11:36Speaker 1: the starting lineup. I think Palmer will be one that
- 11:39Speaker 1: people can look at again if we're thinking about differentials.
- 11:42Speaker 1: The only thing I'd say about it is the past
- 11:43Speaker 1: couple of games his positioning from an FPL point of view, its.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Not been great.
- 11:48Speaker 1: He's dropping quite deep, trying to get on the ball,
- 11:50Speaker 1: trying to create a little bit more because it doesn't
- 11:52Speaker 1: feel like there's that much creativity in this Chelsea team
- 11:54Speaker 1: at the moment. And I think we saw that again
- 11:55Speaker 1: against Newcastle. There wasn't loads of Cole Palmer in the
- 11:58Speaker 1: final third, which as Chelsea fans we love to see.
- 12:01Speaker 1: We didn't see it quite as much and that would
- 12:03Speaker 1: worry me a little bit for the final two weeks.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's strange.
- 12:06Speaker 4: It's been a trend reitionally, not even just Palmer, like
- 12:09Speaker 4: the premiums have just not done much in recent weeks.
- 12:12Speaker 4: I was looking for some interesting stats to mention to
- 12:15Speaker 4: you on the pod, and I've got good one here.
- 12:16Speaker 4: So over the last eight game weeks, no player priced
- 12:19Speaker 4: above eight million is in the top twenty FPL points scorers, right,
- 12:24Speaker 4: so we're like buying, We're selecting, like even captain in
- 12:27Speaker 4: these premiums on the promise of what they've shown earlier
- 12:29Speaker 4: in the season. But Eazac's highest, He's twenty four for
- 12:32Speaker 4: points over that run, Saler's twenty fifth, Watkins twenty seventh,
- 12:37Speaker 4: KDB forty first, and Palmer's seventy seconds. So yeah, it's
- 12:40Speaker 4: a bit of an unusual end of the season in
- 12:42Speaker 4: that respect, isn't it, Where Like all the premiums have
- 12:45Speaker 4: underwhelmed recently, Like you almost forget the Salers destroyed the
- 12:48Speaker 4: points record, you know, based on his recent form, whereas
- 12:51Speaker 4: you know, you look at last season the last eight
- 12:53Speaker 4: game weeks, Palmer was number one, Eazac was fourth, like
- 12:57Speaker 4: Harland eighth. So yeah, it's an interesting trend, and maybe
- 12:59Speaker 4: thats a case for captain and some non premiums you know,
- 13:03Speaker 4: like and boom oh last game.
- 13:05Speaker 3: But I think we both did that.
- 13:06Speaker 4: He's got Fulham home next, it could go Watkins home
- 13:08Speaker 4: to Spurs.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, as someone who's got four players who fit into
- 13:13Speaker 1: that premium bracket in their team, that is not what
- 13:15Speaker 1: I wanted to hear with Debroyne, Sakka Mosala and Alexander Izak.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it is definitely interesting.
- 13:21Speaker 1: It does feel like those ones that, you know, if
- 13:23Speaker 1: we're uncertain where to go with Captaincy, or you know,
- 13:26Speaker 1: we're not certain who to buy, we often default the
- 13:29Speaker 1: most expensive players because generally, historically they've been the ones
- 13:32Speaker 1: that performed well. But it is definitely fair to say
- 13:35Speaker 1: now a lot of that could be that's those stats
- 13:37Speaker 1: would look a little bit different if Manchester City had
- 13:39Speaker 1: maybe converted some of their chances this week. But yeah
- 13:42Speaker 1: they didn't, and yeah, fair to say that they have
- 13:44Speaker 1: definitely disappointed. Let's go to a couple of those premium players.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Then the game on Sunday afternoon Liverpool two Arsenal two.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Liverpool came out of the blocks absolutely flying and I
- 13:57Speaker 1: thought this game was going to go three or four noil,
- 13:59Speaker 1: but Arsenal their way back into it, got to half time,
- 14:02Speaker 1: had only two down and looked a lot better in
- 14:04Speaker 1: the second half. Unfortunately, as a Sacar owner, he did
- 14:07Speaker 1: miss quite a big chance early on in the game,
- 14:09Speaker 1: where Arsenal very well managed to deploy a sort of
- 14:13Speaker 1: counter off side track as all the Liverpool defenders rushed
- 14:17Speaker 1: up and Soaker ran in behind two clubs that obviously
- 14:20Speaker 1: don't have loads to play for in the league but
- 14:23Speaker 1: wanted to put on a bit of a show in
- 14:25Speaker 1: what is first versus second in the Premier League.
- 14:28Speaker 4: You say that Arsenal've got a lot to We've still
- 14:30Speaker 4: got loads to play for. We have to be careful,
- 14:31Speaker 4: like if we don't dig out results, we can still
- 14:34Speaker 4: move down the table. So it's still a big game
- 14:36Speaker 4: for us that one. But yeah, like a fifth blank
- 14:39Speaker 4: in seventh for Salah, Yeah, as you say, sack of
- 14:41Speaker 4: blanked eighty seven seconds between the two goals as well,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and I was I just was like, oh no, here
- 14:46Speaker 4: we go, like they're going to run away of it already.
- 14:48Speaker 4: But yeah, as you say, like credit for Crawn, the
- 14:50Speaker 4: game backers Martinelli and Marino right, and then of course
- 14:54Speaker 4: Marina got the red cards. So after that happened, I
- 14:56Speaker 4: thought I'll take the point at this point. Yeah, Trent
- 15:00Speaker 4: was benched of course, I mean, I'm going to miss
- 15:03Speaker 4: him in FPL, like ninety goal involvements over the last eight.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Seasons he's been.
- 15:07Speaker 4: I think for me it's between him and Baines as
- 15:09Speaker 4: the greatest FPL defenders that we've ever had. But yeah,
- 15:13Speaker 4: as we say, credit to Arsenal, I mean, the last
- 15:15Speaker 4: time Liverpool failed to win at anfield in the league
- 15:18Speaker 4: after being two or more up at half time was
- 15:20Speaker 4: twenty sixteen against Newcastle, so just over nine years ago.
- 15:25Speaker 4: So yeah, he was credit to Arsenal for cloring back
- 15:28Speaker 4: the point. That's twenty gold involvements with Diaz this season
- 15:31Speaker 4: as well, he's gone a little bit under the raidar
- 15:32Speaker 4: isn't he just how good the season he's had.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah, he was definitely popular at the beginning, and then
- 15:38Speaker 1: it was pretty uncertain with Gappro playing well, with Jotta
- 15:40Speaker 1: being there and of course Darwin as well about who
- 15:42Speaker 1: was going to line up that we weren't certain enough
- 15:45Speaker 1: one minutes, so a lot of us decided to move
- 15:47Speaker 1: away from him. But he has continued to tick along
- 15:49Speaker 1: very well. Most salary is a really interesting one and
- 15:52Speaker 1: zero shots for him in this game, and I can't
- 15:56Speaker 1: decide when I'm watching the game he is feels like
- 15:58Speaker 1: he's chasing the assist more than he's chasing anything else
- 16:01Speaker 1: at the moment. I just feel like when he's playing,
- 16:03Speaker 1: he's looking to pass, he's looking to create much more
- 16:06Speaker 1: than he's looking to shoot. When he's in and around
- 16:08Speaker 1: the box. Normally, I feel like Mosalah would look to
- 16:10Speaker 1: shoot and he'd go, right, I'm going to put it
- 16:12Speaker 1: in that far post. Like Mosalah does. He feels like
- 16:15Speaker 1: he massively wants that assist record more than anything else
- 16:18Speaker 1: at the moment, and he is just looking to write
- 16:21Speaker 1: who's making the run? Where can I put it on
- 16:23Speaker 1: a plate for someone? And I felt it again with
- 16:25Speaker 1: this as we saw zero shots for him again in
- 16:28Speaker 1: this game. I've currently got my Camcy armband on him
- 16:30Speaker 1: for game week thirty seven, and this was really concerning
- 16:33Speaker 1: because I just thought his goal threat was definitely not there.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He doesn't look like he's really got the eye for
- 16:38Speaker 1: goal that he maybe had earlier on in the season. Now,
- 16:40Speaker 1: Mosalah can score whenever Mosalah wants to score, but it
- 16:43Speaker 1: doesn't feel like it's a big priority for him at
- 16:45Speaker 1: the moment.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Exact same thinking. At the moment, I've got the armband
- 16:50Speaker 4: on Salah. But yeah, it's a bit worrying how unselfish
- 16:53Speaker 4: he's been so one player. I might end up moving
- 16:55Speaker 4: the armband too is in boomohs. So maybe we talk
- 16:58Speaker 4: about Ipswich versus Brentford obviously just the assist for him.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we's a blank and yellow card.
- 17:05Speaker 4: You know, he'd scored against the bottom of three every
- 17:08Speaker 4: time he played them this season, all five times, and
- 17:10Speaker 4: then of course on his sixth for tempt when he's
- 17:13Speaker 4: one of the most popular transfers in the blanks And yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 4: it gets the yellow card for a one pointer.
- 17:17Speaker 2: That was part of the minor sight, Yeah, of course.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah. How many points did you lose in the end
- 17:21Speaker 3: on that on the miners.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Eleven which actually it could have been a lot worse
- 17:25Speaker 1: given that De Bruyn, Evan, Hilson and Wissa scored six combined.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It could have been a lot worse than only losing
- 17:33Speaker 1: eleven points. And luckily the bench Bruce went so well
- 17:36Speaker 1: that if I just forget those eleven points and say
- 17:38Speaker 1: my bench Bruce scored nineteen, it sounds a lot better.
- 17:41Speaker 4: And negated it. Yeah, exactly, and you sold Mettet, didn't you?
- 17:44Speaker 4: Was that one of the players, yeah got.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Rid of Yeah, let's stick with Brentford just for a moment,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and then I think we do need to talk about
- 17:49Speaker 1: Crystal Palace because like Manchester City, they are one of
- 17:52Speaker 1: the teams in the FA Cup that could cause a
- 17:54Speaker 1: big headache going into game week thirty seven. So yeah,
- 17:57Speaker 1: it was Kevin Charter, the cheat mid fielder that some
- 18:00Speaker 1: people decided to buy in and is going massively under
- 18:03Speaker 1: the radar. I think for Brentford at the moment, a
- 18:04Speaker 1: lot of us are looking at Wissa Anon Bermo because
- 18:06Speaker 1: they're tried and tested assets, right, But Kevin Charda definitely
- 18:09Speaker 1: can't be one that we can go without talking with
- 18:12Speaker 1: because five point one million the cheapest way into the
- 18:15Speaker 1: midfield of any team at the moment and has very
- 18:18Speaker 1: good goal threat. I think that's goal is in back
- 18:20Speaker 1: to back games and he's got a lot of returns
- 18:21Speaker 1: recently as well. Maybe he should be the one. You know,
- 18:25Speaker 1: we shouldn't be looking at the price tag, we shouldn't
- 18:27Speaker 1: be looking at Wissa. Is that you know, the forward,
- 18:29Speaker 1: He's the striker. Kevin chard is creating and scoring a
- 18:32Speaker 1: lot of chances at the moment.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean he's so cheap as well, five point
- 18:35Speaker 4: two mil thirty five points over the last four game weeks.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Literally only Bowen and Esse have got more points over
- 18:42Speaker 4: the last four and they've just got thirty six, one
- 18:44Speaker 4: more point than Charda. I like a player that gets
- 18:47Speaker 4: ninety minutes, but yeah, he's definitely someone need to pay
- 18:50Speaker 4: attention to, even though he's not getting the nineties, definitely
- 18:53Speaker 4: delivering as of late. I think he's on eleven goals
- 18:56Speaker 4: this season something like that, So he's another one that's
- 18:59Speaker 4: gone under the radar. Yeah, Brentford really shown form right
- 19:02Speaker 4: four wins and a draw in their last five, so
- 19:05Speaker 4: they're fine for Europe. They've got all the motivation still.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Well exactly, and they actually have a very big game
- 19:10Speaker 1: for that Europeans place at home to Fulham this week
- 19:13Speaker 1: as well, so they definitely have the motivation that we
- 19:15Speaker 1: were talking about with the likes of Alexander Zak and
- 19:18Speaker 1: the other players in around the Champions League spots because
- 19:21Speaker 1: of course, if they finish eight, they may end up
- 19:23Speaker 1: in the Conference League. Of course that will depend a
- 19:25Speaker 1: little bit on what happens in the FA Cup, but
- 19:28Speaker 1: it is nice to know that although they didn't do
- 19:30Speaker 1: loads this week, we are buying into Brentford, who do
- 19:33Speaker 1: have a lot to play for. One of them that
- 19:35Speaker 1: actually I think is going under the radar if you
- 19:37Speaker 1: needed a defender is Nathan Collins. I think he's got
- 19:39Speaker 1: nine attacking returns this season is nine quietly going under
- 19:43Speaker 1: the radar, and a clean sheet for them this week
- 19:46Speaker 1: he came out with two bonus points as well in
- 19:49Speaker 1: a one nil win Fulham at home Wolves away in
- 19:52Speaker 1: the last two is okay. I don't think there's loads
- 19:54Speaker 1: of defenses over the last two weeks that work well
- 19:57Speaker 1: for both and actually Brentford could end up being one
- 19:59Speaker 1: of those. And I think Collins could be a really
- 20:01Speaker 1: good differential because of his actual attacking threat looking much
- 20:05Speaker 1: better than maybe it would look just because he's a
- 20:07Speaker 1: center back and historically hasn't been great for that. But
- 20:10Speaker 1: he's had a pretty good season from FBL gone very
- 20:13Speaker 1: under the radar, and I'd expect him to have a
- 20:14Speaker 1: bit of a price boost next season given of how
- 20:17Speaker 1: good his attacking threat has been.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Yeah, hopefully FPL overlook how well he's done, then keep
- 20:23Speaker 4: him maybe four point five mil. But yeah, they've got
- 20:26Speaker 4: three clean sheets in the last six Brentford so yeah,
- 20:29Speaker 4: they're really like showing good form recently three of those
- 20:31Speaker 4: games under one expected gold conceded. So yeah, really impressed
- 20:36Speaker 4: by Brentford and the job that Frank's done.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Another team that we spoke about a lot of ownership
- 20:42Speaker 1: in Crystal Palace this week two nil victory over Spurs.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But this feel like, in particularly in the first half,
- 20:48Speaker 1: it could have been an awful lot more. I had
- 20:50Speaker 1: sar An minors who had their goal ruled out, one
- 20:54Speaker 1: assisting the other, and I thought, finally, this is the
- 20:56Speaker 1: time that that sort of minor state and my starting
- 20:59Speaker 1: eleven would start to get some points. To be fair
- 21:01Speaker 1: to Sara min yours, they both did come up with
- 21:03Speaker 1: returns later on in the game, both picking up and
- 21:05Speaker 1: assist for both of ESA's goals. A player that you
- 21:08Speaker 1: have here has been a revelation, and anyone who sat
- 21:11Speaker 1: on the Sar side of that Essar coin flip at
- 21:14Speaker 1: the moment is looking at it thinking how did I
- 21:16Speaker 1: get this decision so wrong?
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Fpo's full of these fifty to fifties, and it's such
- 21:22Speaker 4: an unforgiving game at times, isn't it. Sometimes there can
- 21:24Speaker 4: be a genuine fifty to fifty, and it can go
- 21:26Speaker 4: one way or the other. Like I was looking at
- 21:28Speaker 4: who to start knat or Wambsaka, and I thought ah
- 21:32Speaker 4: Canaate's home, but I ended up going wan Besaca and
- 21:34Speaker 4: I ended up like eleven point swing in my favor.
- 21:37Speaker 4: But another week that could have gone wrong and yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 4: it's it's one of those.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I couldn't work out whether that was good or not.
- 21:43Speaker 4: When Munos had assisted Sar before it got ruled out
- 21:45Speaker 4: because I didn't have Munyos but I.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Did have Sar.
- 21:48Speaker 4: But yeah, a couple of double digit hales. Well done
- 21:50Speaker 4: Munyos owners, eleven points. Well done to my fellow owners
- 21:54Speaker 4: with the brace. Yeah, two off side goals. Though Spurs
- 21:57Speaker 4: rotated lots, which we thought they might do after the
- 22:00Speaker 4: Europa League. Yeah, man, you might have course did as well.
- 22:03Speaker 4: They also lost to Nil. I'm wondering if maybe we
- 22:06Speaker 4: don't see as much rotation in gamick thirty seven from them,
- 22:09Speaker 4: like perhaps the manager wants a bit more riven in
- 22:12Speaker 4: the Yeah, I think that's hard to predict.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I think that feels more likely they play Friday and
- 22:17Speaker 1: then the finals not till Wednesday, and if they were
- 22:19Speaker 1: to rotate again a lot of those players wouldn't have
- 22:21Speaker 1: played proper football for almost two weeks since their semi final.
- 22:25Speaker 1: The Thursday just gone on a crystal palace. They of
- 22:28Speaker 1: course play the FA Cup final and then play Wolves
- 22:31Speaker 1: at home on the Tuesday. I think there is a
- 22:34Speaker 1: little bit of a worry that we might see rotation
- 22:36Speaker 1: for them. Of course, alongside man she United and Spurs
- 22:39Speaker 1: that there is the worry for as well. You've got
- 22:41Speaker 1: z a Ansar and there's a lot of owners of
- 22:43Speaker 1: Mateta as well, and Mateta didn't even make it to
- 22:46Speaker 1: sixty minutes. Mateta feels like the biggest risk. It's also
- 22:49Speaker 1: their final home game, which I feel like does add
- 22:51Speaker 1: a little bit of uncertainty to that game. That if
- 22:53Speaker 1: they played at home on the final day of the season,
- 22:56Speaker 1: that maybe they know rest players during that midweek and
- 22:59Speaker 1: then have a big final home game. But because it's
- 23:01Speaker 1: their final home game, I'm inclined to think it won't
- 23:03Speaker 1: be fully rotated. We might see the odd player drop in.
- 23:07Speaker 1: But yeah, when Pallas are playing as well as this,
- 23:10Speaker 1: it's difficult to want to sell them. It's difficult to
- 23:12Speaker 1: want to take out some of their midfielders and someone
- 23:14Speaker 1: like a manyors because if they do start, Wolves at
- 23:17Speaker 1: Home is a great fixture and one you know, if
- 23:19Speaker 1: they just had this and didn't have the FA Cup final,
- 23:22Speaker 1: we'd all be keeping and starting Triple Palace this week.
- 23:24Speaker 1: So yeah, how do you feel on those you've got
- 23:27Speaker 1: two or if you've got three at the moment.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I went, so we went slightly differently of our
- 23:30Speaker 4: palace because they had those back to back doubles. So
- 23:33Speaker 4: a lot of people went Triple Palace at the time.
- 23:35Speaker 4: You went Munyo's sar Mateta. I think, yes, I went
- 23:39Speaker 4: Triple Attacks. I went esse Mateta, and I've been happy,
- 23:43Speaker 4: to be honest with you with how Sarah and Es
- 23:46Speaker 4: they have done. It's just Mateta, as you say, like
- 23:48Speaker 4: he's coming off early most games. It's fifty nine minutes
- 23:51Speaker 4: forty two seconds as well, and so yeah, if he
- 23:54Speaker 4: just waited twenty seconds longer, he would have made it
- 23:57Speaker 4: to that elusive sixty minute mark for the extra appearance point.
- 24:00Speaker 4: But yeah, he's the one I'm worried about. I'm not
- 24:03Speaker 4: too worried about Saran for Wolves Home. I think I
- 24:06Speaker 4: won't be surprised if they all start to be honest
- 24:08Speaker 4: with you, but maybe Mateta's the question mark there. Maybe
- 24:10Speaker 4: in Ketya comes in, but yeah, I'm currently starting the
- 24:14Speaker 4: two mid still and benching Mateta in favor of Eazak.
- 24:19Speaker 4: But another shocking result for Spurs, like they've lost twenty
- 24:22Speaker 4: four matches in all competitions this season. That's the second
- 24:27Speaker 4: most ever in the league in the league season only
- 24:30Speaker 4: behind twenty five they lost back in nineteen ninety one.
- 24:33Speaker 4: So it's unbelievable when you look at the league table
- 24:36Speaker 4: to see them seventeenth Tottenham, sixteenth man United just a
- 24:41Speaker 4: relegate that way, that was unimaginable to start the season.
- 24:45Speaker 1: But of course they have the europ League Final to
- 24:47Speaker 1: look forward to. I think the talking of Spurs, I
- 24:50Speaker 1: think the team that is probably getting an awful lot
- 24:52Speaker 1: of investment is Aston Villa. So they have Spurs at
- 24:55Speaker 1: home in game week thirty seven and then also have
- 24:57Speaker 1: manch United away in game week thirty eight, which the
- 25:00Speaker 1: game after the Europa League Final, so asen Villa have
- 25:03Speaker 1: what could be a perfect storm of playing. The two
- 25:06Speaker 1: teams very much focused on that European final. Now only
- 25:10Speaker 1: one nil winners away at Bournemouth and it wasn't the
- 25:13Speaker 1: most exciting of games there weren't loads of chances. Watkins
- 25:16Speaker 1: took his chance very well and Bournemouth didn't take their
- 25:19Speaker 1: chance or a couple of chances.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Well at all.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Outside of that, there wasn't that much to talk about
- 25:25Speaker 1: really in this game. I bought Evan Nilson didn't really
- 25:28Speaker 1: have a sniff. We saw cliber bench in this game,
- 25:30Speaker 1: so Meno, there wasn't much from a Bournemouth point of
- 25:33Speaker 1: view until Jefferson had a chance very late on. What
- 25:36Speaker 1: I think is a little bit interesting is asen Villa
- 25:37Speaker 1: feel like they've turned a corner, particularly defensively over the
- 25:40Speaker 1: past few weeks. Conza has been one of the players
- 25:43Speaker 1: for me over the past few weeks that has really
- 25:45Speaker 1: stepped up and actually got returns when I least expected
- 25:48Speaker 1: it to. So you've also owned Martinez. We'll talk about
- 25:51Speaker 1: the attack in a moment, but defensively, actually, I've been
- 25:54Speaker 1: quite impressed with them.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah, me too. He's been an absolute hero for you.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Martinez played him the last couple of game weeks and
- 26:00Speaker 4: I think he's got me nine and eight pointers. So yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 4: it's another thing I guess we need to factor and
- 26:05Speaker 4: so I think him without FBR decisions like who's got
- 26:07Speaker 4: the motivation. What are they playing for? Still, I don't
- 26:10Speaker 4: get me wrong. I know Bornemouth for also playing for
- 26:13Speaker 4: Europe as well, but yeah, thea Villa. Every game matters
- 26:16Speaker 4: right now, so I'm tempted to start Martinez again for
- 26:20Speaker 4: Spurs home. And I think right now if I was buying,
- 26:22Speaker 4: if I could buy any player for Gemmick thirty seven,
- 26:25Speaker 4: it would be Watkins. I think he's probably the best
- 26:27Speaker 4: forward in the game for the final two game weeks.
- 26:30Speaker 4: So that's a decision I need to weigh up this
- 26:31Speaker 4: week because I can buy him now I can afford
- 26:34Speaker 4: to do that. I can then sell me Teta, but
- 26:37Speaker 4: for my team it blocks me buying soccer in Gamie
- 26:40Speaker 4: thirty eight, so I'm trying to keep the options flexible
- 26:42Speaker 4: because otherwise I'm kind of shoehorned into looking elsewhere. I
- 26:46Speaker 4: mean Bournemouth They've got less to home thirty eight, so
- 26:49Speaker 4: there are options there forlone if I can't afford soccer.
- 26:52Speaker 4: But yeah, are you buying Watkins or tempted?
- 26:56Speaker 2: I'm definitely tempted.
- 26:57Speaker 1: So I've only got Conza as asen love player this week,
- 27:01Speaker 1: which doesn't feel great.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I am trying to claw on.
- 27:04Speaker 1: At the moment to the fact that Spurs will need
- 27:06Speaker 1: to create a little bit of fluidity and a little
- 27:08Speaker 1: bit of rhythm in this game. But going into this
- 27:10Speaker 1: without any asen Villa doesn't feel like a particularly sensible
- 27:13Speaker 1: thing to do. So I've got my eye on Morgan Rodgers.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I've got my eye on Ollie Watkins as well. The
- 27:18Speaker 1: other one I'm interested in is Marcus Asensio. With Jacob
- 27:22Speaker 1: Ramsey getting a red card, you'd hope that it might
- 27:24Speaker 1: boost Essentia's minutes just a little bit with them having
- 27:27Speaker 1: slightly less options in that sort of attacking midfield area,
- 27:30Speaker 1: and we expect him to be on penalties for aston
- 27:33Speaker 1: Villa as well.
- 27:34Speaker 2: It could be differential.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, with Tilaman's out, also Marcus Rashford looking like he's
- 27:39Speaker 1: not going to be available as well, both of which
- 27:41Speaker 1: were probably above or in line with Asensio for penalties.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's definitely one if you're looking for a differential and
- 27:47Speaker 1: you want to target this fixture, but you're thinking everyone's
- 27:49Speaker 1: going to buy Watkins. There's already loads of ownership in Rogers.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I do like a Censia. I think the Telaman's injury
- 27:54Speaker 1: is an interesting thing. I don't think then they're quite
- 27:57Speaker 1: as good going forward without him.
- 27:59Speaker 2: He's great at.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Pick that pass over the top with Watkins or Rogers
- 28:02Speaker 1: or whoever it is running in behind, and without Telaman's
- 28:05Speaker 1: doing that, they do have to create chances a little
- 28:08Speaker 1: bit differently to how maybe they have done for the
- 28:10Speaker 1: majority of the season. So I still think they score
- 28:12Speaker 1: goals against Burs I do. I still think they're great
- 28:14Speaker 1: to buy, but I don't think it's quite as much
- 28:17Speaker 1: a shoe in as if, for example, this game had
- 28:19Speaker 1: been played closer to the final and Tilaman's had been playing,
- 28:22Speaker 1: maybe as someone who doesn't own them, though that's just
- 28:25Speaker 1: me trying to convince myself that it might be okay
- 28:27Speaker 1: if I don't buy them this week. But yeah, I
- 28:29Speaker 1: agree with you, right, Watkins. If I could buy one
- 28:32Speaker 1: player this week and not have to worry about what
- 28:34Speaker 1: it means going forward or the money it spent, I
- 28:36Speaker 1: think it would be Watkins.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree with that.
- 28:39Speaker 4: The only other one I think is an interesting pick
- 28:41Speaker 4: is Palmer for thirty seven, of course because he's got
- 28:43Speaker 4: Man United home. But yeah, I think at this point
- 28:46Speaker 4: of the season you want to spend your transfers on
- 28:48Speaker 4: who's offering you the upside. I just can't imagine many
- 28:50Speaker 4: people are looking at keeper or defender transfers if you
- 28:54Speaker 4: can help it. I think at this point in the season,
- 28:56Speaker 4: we've got two more game meets, so two free transfers
- 29:00Speaker 4: get added to our teams. So I think i'd be
- 29:02Speaker 4: looking at the mids and forwards. So really this week
- 29:05Speaker 4: Watkins and Palmer leap out, and then thirty eight it's
- 29:07Speaker 4: like the bomb of attackers maybe soccer.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, one other player who could leap out in game
- 29:13Speaker 1: week thirty eight I think is Jared Bowen. That's four
- 29:15Speaker 1: returns on the balance for him. They've got Ipswick, They've
- 29:18Speaker 1: got Knotingham Forest at home, who don't look nearly as
- 29:20Speaker 1: assure defensively, and if Marillo is still out for them,
- 29:24Speaker 1: this could be a pretty decent fixture. Of course, their
- 29:26Speaker 1: final home game of the season and then they go
- 29:27Speaker 1: awe to whipswitch on the final day. So if you
- 29:30Speaker 1: can't stretch to someone like a Dubroyn or a Soaker
- 29:32Speaker 1: for example, over the next couple of weeks, I think
- 29:35Speaker 1: Jared Bowen, alongside Brian and Burmo, they offer very good value.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Of course, he scored again, came away with the clean
- 29:41Speaker 1: sheet points. I think he got an eight or a
- 29:42Speaker 1: nine pointer this week, looked very good, created some chances.
- 29:45Speaker 1: He's just their main man at the moment, and even
- 29:47Speaker 1: when fulcrowk comes on, his minutes weren't quite as good
- 29:51Speaker 1: this week as maybe we'd seen. He got taken off
- 29:53Speaker 1: slightly earlier, but the game felt like it had kind
- 29:55Speaker 1: of been one from an attacking point of view for
- 29:57Speaker 1: west Ham when that happened. He's one that I I
- 30:00Speaker 1: am almost certainly not going to own for the remainder
- 30:02Speaker 1: of this season, and he's one I definitely wish I could.
- 30:06Speaker 1: He's looked very good recently and this is the first
- 30:08Speaker 1: time in FPL he's ever returned four games in a row,
- 30:12Speaker 1: so yeah, he's on a very good run. I had
- 30:14Speaker 1: and you had the defensive half of this game. I
- 30:18Speaker 1: had Ariola in goal, one save away from two save points,
- 30:22Speaker 1: and that could have even put him higher up the
- 30:23Speaker 1: bonus points, but I won't complain. I had an Ariola
- 30:26Speaker 1: eight points and you had Wambasaka as well. I think
- 30:29Speaker 1: their actual last two games must be one of the
- 30:32Speaker 1: best combination of two games we've got right Forrest at
- 30:35Speaker 1: home looks on paper difficult because of how Forrest had
- 30:37Speaker 1: been this season, but haven't been nearly as good recently,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and then they traveled to Ipswich on the final day. Again,
- 30:43Speaker 1: as I said with Collins, if you're looking for a
- 30:45Speaker 1: defender for one week or for two weeks, sorry, surely
- 30:48Speaker 1: Wambasaka is one to consider as well.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Yeah, an interesting pick.
- 30:51Speaker 4: You know, I made the mistake of benching in gaming
- 30:54Speaker 4: thirty five, so I thought I'm not making that mistake again,
- 30:56Speaker 4: so I started him, but I did not expect. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 4: a clean sheet, assist, three bonus type game.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Bowen's actually a great shout Forrest obviously this season. Overall
- 31:05Speaker 4: they've been defensively sound, but not as of late, you know,
- 31:09Speaker 4: even conceding twice the Leicester. But Bowen, Yeah, eleven goals,
- 31:13Speaker 4: ten assists this season. I feel like he's January one
- 31:16Speaker 4: of the most underrated players in the league. Like he's
- 31:18Speaker 4: averaged twenty two gone avolvements over the last four seasons
- 31:23Speaker 4: per season twenty two. So yeah, and as I said earlier,
- 31:26Speaker 4: he's on the joint most points over the last four
- 31:29Speaker 4: game weeks. Another poor result for Manunite, of course, that's
- 31:33Speaker 4: their ninth home Premier League defeat this season. That's their
- 31:36Speaker 4: joint most ever in a single league campaign. The last
- 31:40Speaker 4: time they lost that many teams at home in the
- 31:42Speaker 4: league season was the nineteen sixty two to sixty three season.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I don't know if you remember that season, but Jimmy
- 31:48Speaker 4: Greaves was essential in FPL thirty seven goals that season,
- 31:53Speaker 4: but loved choking aside Bowen, I think is yeah a
- 31:56Speaker 4: great shout. Actually, I'd overlooked him really going under radar fouled.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Well he's done this season in his recent form.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean defense. Yeah, Jared Boone I really like
- 32:05Speaker 1: and I think he's the one in attack. Kudos could
- 32:07Speaker 1: offer a good differential if you're looking at it again,
- 32:09Speaker 1: if we're trying to find players that maybe are a
- 32:11Speaker 1: little bit different, kudos picking up and assist zu check scoring.
- 32:15Speaker 1: But it does really feel like Jared burn Also, we
- 32:18Speaker 1: expect him to be on penalties depending on who else
- 32:20Speaker 1: is on the pitch as well. Manch United were the
- 32:23Speaker 1: biggest underperformers in terms of x G this week. Hoyland
- 32:27Speaker 1: the single biggest in terms of actual player underperformer this week.
- 32:31Speaker 1: That was because of that Ariola save from about three
- 32:34Speaker 1: yards out for Hoyland in the second half, which in theory,
- 32:37Speaker 1: if that had gone in the game, would have looked
- 32:39Speaker 1: an awful lot different. But it doesn't feel like we're
- 32:41Speaker 1: looking loads at mans United for the final couple of games,
- 32:44Speaker 1: maybe apart from looking at the teams that they're playing against,
- 32:46Speaker 1: as we've spoken about with Chelsea and with Aston Villa
- 32:50Speaker 1: in the last couple. Let's go to the early kickoff
- 32:53Speaker 1: very quickly, and actually the only team this week. Only
- 32:55Speaker 1: one team in the league scored three goals this week.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And if I'd have asked you going into the which
- 33:00Speaker 1: team would score three goals this week and you can
- 33:03Speaker 1: only pick one, I'm not sure Everton would have been
- 33:06Speaker 1: the team that you would have gone with away of
- 33:08Speaker 1: Fulham this week. Fulham, of course, were in theories still
- 33:11Speaker 1: are in a team that are fighting for a European place.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Three to one victory for Everton in this they play
- 33:19Speaker 1: Southampton this week. If you need a one week then
- 33:21Speaker 1: there's got to be some at Everton, right.
- 33:23Speaker 4: I know Mi Kahlenko has been a massive frustration for
- 33:26Speaker 4: you this season, and that's a touchy subject, right, every
- 33:28Speaker 4: time you bench him he gets a return. I know
- 33:31Speaker 4: you haven't got many more on your team but yeah
- 33:32Speaker 4: he scored as well, big deflection, but nice to see
- 33:35Speaker 4: him on the score sheet. Yeah, Southampton home next. So
- 33:39Speaker 4: I don't know if you're looking for like the hail
- 33:41Speaker 4: Mary picks rather than the obvious picks. There's got to
- 33:44Speaker 4: be some options there, like Beto. Right, he's scored in
- 33:47Speaker 4: his last two games in a row. He could be
- 33:49Speaker 4: an interesting mine. You'd back Everton to put a few
- 33:51Speaker 4: past Southampton, wouldn't you. So he's an option and McNeill
- 33:55Speaker 4: and he got an assist off the bench he was bench.
- 33:58Speaker 4: I don't know if i'd go there, but if he starts,
- 34:00Speaker 4: I feel like that's a fixture of so much potential.
- 34:02Speaker 4: But I think better would be the interest in hell
- 34:04Speaker 4: Mary pick. Maybe even captain if you're really looking to
- 34:07Speaker 4: chase upside.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Yeah, particularly because it showed against Manchester City for Southampton
- 34:13Speaker 1: how important that last point to beat that derby points
- 34:16Speaker 1: total was and they got it. And you could tell
- 34:18Speaker 1: in that game, you know, they weren't a team that
- 34:20Speaker 1: were thinking in their minds, oh we're relegated, you know,
- 34:23Speaker 1: we don't need to focus or it doesn't mean as
- 34:25Speaker 1: much anymore. They were focused like as much as those
- 34:28Speaker 1: teams trying to qualify for the Champions League in that game,
- 34:31Speaker 1: and now you wonder now that they finally got across
- 34:34Speaker 1: that line and how much obviously meant to them to
- 34:36Speaker 1: do that. Maybe they do switch off, particularly because this
- 34:40Speaker 1: is away from home, and maybe they go back to
- 34:42Speaker 1: it and trying to put on a show in their
- 34:43Speaker 1: final home game in game week thirty eight. But it
- 34:45Speaker 1: does feel like Everton, although they don't have loads to
- 34:48Speaker 1: play for this, you would hope in the final game
- 34:50Speaker 1: at Goodison Park as well. If we want to create narratives,
- 34:53Speaker 1: surely that is one that we've got to go and create.
- 34:55Speaker 2: The other one is of course Jamie Vardy.
- 34:57Speaker 1: He is one goal away from hunting and fifty pen
- 34:59Speaker 1: league goals, one goal away from two hundred Leicester goals
- 35:03Speaker 1: as well. So if you're looking for a cheap forward
- 35:05Speaker 1: and you want to create a narrative, it feels like
- 35:07Speaker 1: you've got better on one side when the final game
- 35:09Speaker 1: at Goodison at home Southampton, or you've got Jamie Vardy
- 35:11Speaker 1: on the other side in what is his final home
- 35:14Speaker 1: game for Leicester at home to Ipswich.
- 35:16Speaker 2: As well.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Defensively, I think they're fine if you need a defender
- 35:19Speaker 1: O'Brien actually missed out.
- 35:21Speaker 3: So if that's going to be the case, say the same.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Michael Keene is very cheap and he scored again
- 35:25Speaker 1: and his goal threat is actually pretty good when he
- 35:27Speaker 1: does start. Mikhalenka of course coming in with the goal.
- 35:30Speaker 1: But I think in midfield de Corey McNeil if he
- 35:33Speaker 1: is going to start, and Beto offer good punts if
- 35:36Speaker 1: you needed them for this week. The only issue is
- 35:38Speaker 1: if they go away to Newcastle on the final day,
- 35:40Speaker 1: so you'd have to probably have an idea of what
- 35:43Speaker 1: you do with them on the final day.
- 35:45Speaker 3: And I think the last game we haven't touched on
- 35:47Speaker 3: was wolvesby Brighton.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Yeah, this is not how I thought this game was
- 35:50Speaker 2: going to go.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Yeah, two one hundred thousand new Cune your owners another
- 35:55Speaker 4: the curse of the most transferred in players continuing really Yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 4: two hundred thousand or so picked up Una understandably home
- 36:01Speaker 4: to Brighton. You know been informed he ends up getting
- 36:04Speaker 4: booked for giving away penalty and he's off before sixty
- 36:07Speaker 4: minutes as well, so zero pointer.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I had the choice of selling Matteta to either Wissa
- 36:13Speaker 1: or Kunya this week, and all three of them combined
- 36:15Speaker 1: to a total of two points, so it didn't really
- 36:17Speaker 1: matter in the end which of them. But I agree
- 36:19Speaker 1: I thought we'd see more from Wolves than we did
- 36:22Speaker 1: in this game, but it was the penalty he gave
- 36:25Speaker 1: away and then he got subbed off. With strand Larson
- 36:27Speaker 1: being back, and I think the good thing for Kunya
- 36:29Speaker 1: and those of us who've owned him over the past
- 36:31Speaker 1: few weeks and on the free hit has been the
- 36:33Speaker 1: Strand Larson hasn't been available, which has boosted Kunya's minutes.
- 36:37Speaker 2: He's should start games as he looks like he's going
- 36:40Speaker 2: to be moving in the summer.
- 36:41Speaker 1: But with strand Larson back, of course, with Bella guard
- 36:44Speaker 1: back as well, they do have a lot of forwards
- 36:46Speaker 1: with which they're trying to give some minutes too. With
- 36:48Speaker 1: not that much to play for in the Premier League
- 36:51Speaker 1: over the final few games, so.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Maybe Kunya's minutes aren't quite as certain.
- 36:55Speaker 1: We don't know whether that was the yellow card that
- 36:56Speaker 1: drove him to be subbed off, but Brighton really put
- 36:59Speaker 1: in a performance that I didn't massively think they had
- 37:02Speaker 1: left in them this season. Now they have Liverpool at home,
- 37:04Speaker 1: but do have Spurs away on the final day. They
- 37:07Speaker 1: are still in contention for a eighth place finish, which
- 37:10Speaker 1: could be Conference League football. The final two games with
- 37:13Speaker 1: Liverpool and Spurs don't feel quite as good as maybe
- 37:16Speaker 1: they'd want to go and chase that. But well Beck,
- 37:19Speaker 1: particularly with you know Joe Beder having been suspended, has
- 37:22Speaker 1: really stepped up. He's got a goal here in with
- 37:25Speaker 1: three bonus points as well and a clean sheet. If
- 37:27Speaker 1: you owned someone like a Verbrugen. It does feel a
- 37:30Speaker 1: little bit though, because of the pitches they've got, they're
- 37:32Speaker 1: not massive buys now rights and it's one we've got
- 37:35Speaker 1: to let go.
- 37:35Speaker 4: I think, yeah, definitely, But yeah, well Beck it was
- 37:39Speaker 4: him that took the penalty of course, and know Jaques
- 37:41Speaker 4: Pedro and that's his first ten plus goal league season
- 37:44Speaker 4: in seventeen seasons, which is really surprising stat isn't it.
- 37:47Speaker 4: I know he's had injury troubles over the years, but
- 37:50Speaker 4: I'm happy for him, Like I've got a sousput for
- 37:52Speaker 4: well Beck obviously as an Arsenal fan. But in terms
- 37:54Speaker 4: of Cunya, then would you say avoid now.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I would say so. I don't actually think this is
- 37:59Speaker 1: the best week to be buying forwards. I think there's
- 38:01Speaker 1: a lot of good forwards that have a good fixture
- 38:04Speaker 1: in game week thirty eight, but actually there's not loads
- 38:06Speaker 1: that combine both this week and next week. You can
- 38:08Speaker 1: still buy Wissa. He's got Fulham at home this week,
- 38:10Speaker 1: which isn't bad. Of course, if you've got the money
- 38:13Speaker 1: for an Oarlie Watkins then that is probably where you
- 38:15Speaker 1: end up. But for example, Kunya goes away to Crystal Palace.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Now we're saying that Pallace. We don't quite know what
- 38:21Speaker 1: that motivation is going to be going into that game,
- 38:23Speaker 1: So I don't think he's a buying new I don't
- 38:25Speaker 1: think for the final couple of games.
- 38:27Speaker 2: That he's probably the one that we want. But you
- 38:29Speaker 2: never know.
- 38:29Speaker 1: The final game of the season is at home, and
- 38:31Speaker 1: if he is rumored to have a transfer away like
- 38:33Speaker 1: he is, then that could be the final Kunya show
- 38:36Speaker 1: for Wolves, and you could write your narrative there. We
- 38:38Speaker 1: are at the point of the season which is two
- 38:40Speaker 1: weeks left that you do need to create your narratives.
- 38:42Speaker 2: This week is better.
- 38:43Speaker 1: This week it's Jamie Vardy and maybe next week it'll
- 38:46Speaker 1: be Kunya's final Wolves game and then you can create
- 38:49Speaker 1: the one there if you wanted to.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean transfers are so precious right now and
- 38:52Speaker 4: those could be the sort of fun punts to end
- 38:54Speaker 4: the season on. It feels like this is the first
- 38:56Speaker 4: week in ages where we haven't actually got any midweek
- 38:58Speaker 4: fixtures like either in you or the Premier League to
- 39:01Speaker 4: contend with. It doesn't mean GEMMI thirty seven isn't without
- 39:04Speaker 4: its complications. The Gamik starts on Friday, but we've got
- 39:07Speaker 4: the FA Cup Final on Saturday, dividing the game we
- 39:09Speaker 4: can two.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels weird that we've got the two games
- 39:12Speaker 1: on Friday night. They're nothing at all on the Saturday.
- 39:14Speaker 1: We actually have no Premier League games left on the
- 39:17Speaker 1: Saturday between now and the end of the season because
- 39:20Speaker 1: of course the final day takes place on Sunday as well.
- 39:23Speaker 1: With all that in mind, Kelly, Jules and Sam will
- 39:25Speaker 1: be back on Thursday previewing at Game Week thirty seven
- 39:28Speaker 1: and discussing how to manage the game week with a
- 39:30Speaker 1: cup final in the middle of it.
- 39:32Speaker 4: It's been great chatting to you, Harry. I really enjoyed
- 39:34Speaker 4: it off the bench this season and I'll see you
- 39:36Speaker 4: back next season.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Perfect.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Good luck with your final two weeks and here's to
- 39:40Speaker 1: us ending it on a high
