Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
Speaker 1: where we left off with the Hillary Clinton testimony from
• 0:10
Speaker 1: her deposition with Congress. Question, and finally, do you think
• 0:15
Speaker 1: that Donald Trump should be deposed by the committee? Answer, absolutely.
• 0:20
Speaker 1: I was a lawyer, and as a lawyer, you would
• 0:22
Speaker 1: look for patterns and practice. If you were deposing a
• 0:25
Speaker 1: witness in a case that you were trying, if you
• 0:28
Speaker 1: were in court, you What did you know about the person?
• 0:31
Speaker 1: What you knew could influence how you questioned that person.
• 0:34
Speaker 1: How you tried the case. Donald Trump has been held
• 0:36
Speaker 1: civilly liable for sexual assault by a jury of his peers.
• 0:40
Speaker 1: Nine members of a jury found him liable in the
• 0:43
Speaker 1: sexual assault of E. Jean Carroll. That is behavior. That
• 0:47
Speaker 1: fits a pattern. If one were looking for a pattern...
• 0:50
Speaker 1: He's also been convicted of 34 felony counts for attempting
• 0:53
Speaker 1: to hide a relationship with an escort and then to
• 0:56
Speaker 1: commit business fraud to prevent it from becoming public in
• 0:59
Speaker 1: the 2016 campaign, which was ultimately election interference. So if
• 1:04
Speaker 1: I was running the committee or if I was involved
• 1:06
Speaker 1: in the investigation, I'd be looking for people who maybe
• 1:09
Speaker 1: had some prior conduct that might be relevant to either
• 1:13
Speaker 1: money or crimes. And yes, I think that would be
• 1:15
Speaker 1: in keeping with the scope of the investigation of this
• 1:18
Speaker 1: committee to set up a deposition with President Trump. I
• 1:21
Speaker 1: know he's been deposed many, many, many times. He's taken
• 1:24
Speaker 1: the Fifth Amendment many, many hundreds of times. So I'm
• 1:27
Speaker 1: not saying you're going to get a lot of information.
• 1:30
Speaker 1: But given what's in the files and given past and
• 1:33
Speaker 1: prior conduct, he would be on my witness list. Question,
• 1:36
Speaker 1: thank you. We can go off the record. So they
• 1:39
Speaker 1: come back on and now it's Chairman Comer. Yes, and
• 1:43
Speaker 1: thank you, Madam Secretary, and we appreciate what you said
• 1:47
Speaker 1: in the last round of questions. I want to be
• 1:49
Speaker 1: very clear. This committee is taking this investigation very seriously.
• 1:54
Speaker 1: We're following the money. We have a history of doing
• 1:56
Speaker 1: that over the past two years. I wrote the Treasury
• 1:59
Speaker 1: Department requesting suspicious activity reports related to Jeffrey Epstein. Treasury
• 2:05
Speaker 1: has now been in full compliance, and our staff has
• 2:08
Speaker 1: spent untold hours reviewing those documents. And I know the
• 2:11
Speaker 1: minority staff have also reviewed those documents. Anytime we subpoena anything,
• 2:16
Speaker 1: both sides get it. Based on the suspicious activity reports,
• 2:20
Speaker 1: I then issued subpoenas to two banks, Deutsche Bank and
• 2:23
Speaker 1: JP Morgan. Those two banks are also in compliance and
• 2:27
Speaker 1: continue to produce thousands of pages of records. And I'll
• 2:31
Speaker 1: say this before I turn it over to Representative Mace.
• 2:34
Speaker 1: This investigation is made very difficult when witnesses drag out
• 2:38
Speaker 1: negotiations for more than six months and violate their duly
• 2:41
Speaker 1: issued subpoena. So that's one reason when we're dealing with
• 2:45
Speaker 1: very powerful people that have the best attorneys out there,
• 2:49
Speaker 1: it's very difficult when it takes six months to get
• 2:52
Speaker 1: witnesses in. So I just wanted to mention that. Then
• 2:54
Speaker 1: I'll yield to Ms. Mace. So now we have Nancy
• 2:57
Speaker 1: Mace asking Hillary Clinton some questions. Question. Thank you, Ms. Chairman.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: Madam Secretary, thank you for returning this afternoon. Secretary Clinton,
• 3:08
Speaker 1: is your husband someone that the committee should investigate? Answer,
• 3:12
Speaker 1: my husband will be here tomorrow. You'll have a chance
• 3:14
Speaker 1: to ask him. Question, so my question is, is your
• 3:17
Speaker 1: husband someone the committee should investigate? Her lawyer jumps in now,
• 3:22
Speaker 1: asked and answered. Clinton, apparently you are. You've subpoenaed him.
• 3:27
Speaker 1: He's going to be here tomorrow. Question. In your testimony
• 3:30
Speaker 1: before the break, you discussed why you believe President Trump
• 3:34
Speaker 1: should testify before a committee due to a pattern of behavior.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: You testified that a pattern of behavior warrants accountability, so
• 3:41
Speaker 1: I want to make sure I understand your standard correctly.
• 3:45
Speaker 1: The pattern of behavior you describe includes being held civilly liable, indictments,
• 3:50
Speaker 1: sexually deviant behavior, correct? Answer. Yes. Question. In 1998, your
• 3:56
Speaker 1: husband was found civilly liable for sexual misconduct with Paula
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Jones and settled for $ 850, 000. Is that correct? Clinton, yeah. Question,
• 4:05
Speaker 1: by your standard of pattern of behavior, should your husband
• 4:08
Speaker 1: testify before this committee? Answer, he's testifying tomorrow. Question, on
• 4:13
Speaker 1: December 19th, 1998, President Clinton was impeached on charges of
• 4:18
Speaker 1: perjury and obstruction of justice, which directly related to his
• 4:22
Speaker 1: extramarital affair with Monica Lewinsky. Is that correct? Answer, yes. Question,
• 4:27
Speaker 1: and your husband was impeached for perjury-related sexual behavior, correct? Answer,
• 4:33
Speaker 1: I didn't understand what you said. Question, your husband was
• 4:36
Speaker 1: impeached for perjury-related to his sexual behavior. Answer, he was
• 4:41
Speaker 1: impeached for several reasons and then was acquitted in the Senate. Question,
• 4:45
Speaker 1: and your husband flew on Jeffrey Epstein's plane 17 to
• 4:49
Speaker 1: 26 times, correct? Answer, he made several trips with different
• 4:53
Speaker 1: legs on the trip, as I recall. Question, but he
• 4:56
Speaker 1: flew on Jeffrey Epstein's planes 17 to 26 times? Answer, yeah,
• 5:00
Speaker 1: he did. Question, were you aware that Secret Service was
• 5:04
Speaker 1: dropped on some of those flights? Answer, that's not my understanding. Question,
• 5:08
Speaker 1: they were not on some of the flights? Answer, that's
• 5:11
Speaker 1: not my understanding. Question, so your understanding is that Secret
• 5:15
Speaker 1: Service was on all the flights that President Clinton took
• 5:18
Speaker 1: with Epstein? Answer, that's my understanding. Questioned by this standard
• 5:22
Speaker 1: of behavior, multiple credible accusers, including Juanita Broderick, who alleged
• 5:27
Speaker 1: rape against your husband, your husband was disbarred in Arkansas,
• 5:31
Speaker 1: lost his law license before the Supreme Court, flew on
• 5:34
Speaker 1: Epstein's plane dozens of times, visited Epstein's Island, according... Clinton,
• 5:39
Speaker 1: that's not true. That's absolutely untrue. Nancy Mace. Well, there's
• 5:43
Speaker 1: documentation in the DOJ files. I'm not sure you're aware.
• 5:46
Speaker 1: Your attorneys have told you. But Jeffrey Epstein told one
• 5:49
Speaker 1: of the victims to lie to investigators to lie that
• 5:51
Speaker 1: Bill Clinton was ever on Epstein's island. I can provide
• 5:55
Speaker 1: the document to your attorneys. The attorney jumps in. We'd
• 5:58
Speaker 1: like to see that document, please. Mace, I can do that.
• 6:02
Speaker 1: Now the lawyer. Counsel. Because actually the files say just
• 6:06
Speaker 1: the opposite. Epstein himself denied that he was on the island. Question. Question.
• 6:12
Speaker 1: These are FBI notes from an interview with a victim.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: And I can get you the victim number and the
• 6:16
Speaker 1: case number in the files. These are notes from a
• 6:19
Speaker 1: 302 interview. Answer, are you going to provide those now? Answer,
• 6:24
Speaker 1: that's not my line of questioning. She brought it up,
• 6:26
Speaker 1: but I have the document. Lawyer jumps in. I'm sorry,
• 6:29
Speaker 1: you're making a representation as to the facts. Mace cuts
• 6:32
Speaker 1: the lawyer off. I didn't enter anything as an exhibit. Lawyer,
• 6:36
Speaker 1: but it's factually inaccurate. Nancy Mace, no, I can give
• 6:39
Speaker 1: it to you later. I can go find the document,
• 6:41
Speaker 1: make copies of it, and give it to you this afternoon. Hey, everybody,
• 6:47
Speaker 1: Virginia said she saw Bill Clinton on the island. So
• 6:50
Speaker 1: do you think Virginia's lying about that? And why would
• 6:52
Speaker 1: she lie? She didn't say anything bad about him. She
• 6:55
Speaker 1: just said he was on the island. Mace, okay, by
• 6:59
Speaker 1: your standard of pattern of behavior, according to documents released
• 7:02
Speaker 1: by the DOJ, your husband appears in photos and swimming pools,
• 7:06
Speaker 1: hot tubs, aboard Epstein's private plane with unidentified young women.
• 7:11
Speaker 1: We came here today, and you told this committee that
• 7:13
Speaker 1: a pattern of behavior demands accountability, correct? Answer, I said
• 7:17
Speaker 1: I believe the committee should call anyone who had a
• 7:20
Speaker 1: substantial pattern and practice of contact with Jeffrey Epstein and
• 7:24
Speaker 1: his crimes before they came to light. Question, and does
• 7:27
Speaker 1: that include your husband? Answer, and after they came to light.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: You're going to have a chance to question him tomorrow. Mace,
• 7:34
Speaker 1: so I'll ask you again. By the standard you just
• 7:37
Speaker 1: said in your own words just now, does that standard
• 7:40
Speaker 1: apply equally to your husband or only to President Trump? Answer,
• 7:44
Speaker 1: I've said that my husband has been subpoenaed. He'll appear.
• 7:48
Speaker 1: He'll answer your questions to the best of his ability.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: But there is no evidence whatsoever of any connection with
• 7:53
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's crimes. And I think that will obviously be
• 7:56
Speaker 1: apparent in the questioning. Well, let's slow down on that.
• 8:00
Speaker 1: What about financial crimes? If Jeffrey Epstein was running a
• 8:03
Speaker 1: criminal enterprise and Bill Clinton got any money from him,
• 8:06
Speaker 1: that might be an issue. Question. What makes you so
• 8:10
Speaker 1: sure of that then? I mean, he's photographed with criminals.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: Lawyer jumps in. Objection. You're asking her to speculate on
• 8:17
Speaker 1: something that's not in evidence. Answer by Clinton. It's so speculative.
• 8:22
Speaker 1: I mean, swimming in a pool, sitting in a hot tub.
• 8:24
Speaker 1: There are millions of people who do that without any
• 8:26
Speaker 1: improper behavior. or certainly committing any crimes. Mace, do you
• 8:31
Speaker 1: think that most of the men are like your husband
• 8:34
Speaker 1: that did anything wrong by where they're being surrounded by
• 8:38
Speaker 1: young women giving them massages on Epstein's private estate or
• 8:41
Speaker 1: private planes? Are they all innocent then? Answer, you're making
• 8:46
Speaker 1: assumptions in your questions that have not been proven and
• 8:49
Speaker 1: I don't believe are provable. Question, okay, why did you
• 8:52
Speaker 1: wait six months to have this hearing today or have
• 8:55
Speaker 1: this testimony? Answer, I've answered that. I thought that given
• 8:59
Speaker 1: the way the other witnesses who were subpoenaed at the
• 9:01
Speaker 1: same time were being treated, that there was an unfair
• 9:03
Speaker 1: treatment of both my husband and myself. I thought that
• 9:06
Speaker 1: especially from my perspective. I had very little, if any,
• 9:10
Speaker 1: information to provide you and that I could have done
• 9:12
Speaker 1: it in a sworn statement and you could have moved
• 9:15
Speaker 1: on to depose somebody else who might have more information
• 9:18
Speaker 1: that would be beneficial to your investigation. Nancy Mace, I
• 9:22
Speaker 1: have two more questions. Then we're going to pass it
• 9:24
Speaker 1: to Congresswoman Luna. After Jeffrey Epstein was convicted, did it
• 9:28
Speaker 1: concern you at all that he had taken a substantial
• 9:30
Speaker 1: amount of money from Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, that's an inappropriate assumption.
• 9:35
Speaker 1: I did not take a substantial amount of money from Epstein,
• 9:38
Speaker 1: so as far as I know, Jeffrey Epstein contributed to
• 9:41
Speaker 1: the joint committee that was supporting my Senate race. Question,
• 9:44
Speaker 1: which was how much? Answer, I believe $ 20, 000. Question, and
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: you don't consider $ 20, 000 substantial? Answer, I do not consider
• 9:53
Speaker 1: it relevant to me. because I have no recollection that
• 9:56
Speaker 1: I ever knew that he gave any money to the
• 9:58
Speaker 1: Joint Committee. Nancy May. so you didn't talk to your
• 10:01
Speaker 1: donors that gave 20,000 to your campaign? Answer, my understanding
• 10:05
Speaker 1: of the rules back then is that there was no
• 10:07
Speaker 1: coordination between the committee and my campaign. So no, I
• 10:11
Speaker 1: have no recollection of knowing that. Question, but that doesn't
• 10:14
Speaker 1: mean you can't speak to your donors. That doesn't prohibit,
• 10:17
Speaker 1: the law doesn't prohibit you speaking to your donors. Answer,
• 10:21
Speaker 1: but I didn't know he was a donor. As far
• 10:23
Speaker 1: as I knew, he was not a donor until I
• 10:26
Speaker 1: learned that in preparation for this testimony. Question, did it
• 10:29
Speaker 1: concern you at all that Maxwell was heavily involved with
• 10:32
Speaker 1: people that you knew and were close to? Answer, I
• 10:35
Speaker 1: knew people that knew her. Yes, that's true. Question, and
• 10:38
Speaker 1: you just shrugged. You didn't want to look into it
• 10:40
Speaker 1: or have any questions about it? Answer, until her crimes
• 10:43
Speaker 1: were revealed and she was indicted and tried and convicted,
• 10:46
Speaker 1: I don't think people knew very much about at all
• 10:48
Speaker 1: what she was doing. Question, And then, how do you
• 10:52
Speaker 1: know Howard Lutnick? Answer, I know Howard Lutnick because when
• 10:55
Speaker 1: I was a senator on 9-11, the firm he headed,
• 10:58
Speaker 1: Kenner Fitzgerald, suffered the greatest loss of life. As I recall,
• 11:02
Speaker 1: something like 650 of his employees were murdered by terrorists
• 11:05
Speaker 1: that day. Howard Lutnick missed being a victim because he
• 11:09
Speaker 1: was delayed dropping his child off at kindergarten. Nancy Mace,
• 11:13
Speaker 1: I know that. I asked how you knew him. Lawyer
• 11:17
Speaker 1: jumps in, you ask the question, let her finish. Clinton,
• 11:20
Speaker 1: You asked a question. I'm going to answer your question. Mace,
• 11:24
Speaker 1: now you're going to yell at me? Clinton, this was
• 11:28
Speaker 1: what I spent my time doing. I spent. Mace jumps in.
• 11:31
Speaker 1: You're going to yell at me? I'm a survivor trying
• 11:33
Speaker 1: to look out for other survivors trying to take care
• 11:36
Speaker 1: of one another. Clinton, and I was taking care of
• 11:39
Speaker 1: people who lost 3,000 lives at the World Trade Center.
• 11:42
Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, I waited six months to get here today.
• 11:45
Speaker 1: Six months, and now you're being defiant and indignant today? Clinton,
• 11:50
Speaker 1: you asked me about Howard Lutnick. Mace, I have now.
• 11:53
Speaker 1: Epstein survivors, I'm a survivor myself. You have emails you've
• 11:57
Speaker 1: denied that you've tried to get Jeffrey Epstein to give
• 11:59
Speaker 1: you money. She gets cut off by Clinton. I did not.
• 12:02
Speaker 1: Now Clinton's cut off by Mace. But Howard Lutnick was
• 12:06
Speaker 1: used to get money. Cut off by Clinton. If you
• 12:09
Speaker 1: have an email with me asking Epstein for money. Mace,
• 12:12
Speaker 1: I have an email from Howard Lutnick sending it to
• 12:14
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Lawyer jumps in. What was the question? Mace,
• 12:20
Speaker 1: and his people to raise money for you, for an event,
• 12:23
Speaker 1: an intimate event, for you at his office at Cantor Fitzgerald. Clinton,
• 12:28
Speaker 1: if you let me finish, Mace cuts her off again,
• 12:31
Speaker 1: and Officegate, and say to this committee you didn't try
• 12:34
Speaker 1: to get money from Epstein. Clinton, I didn't. Mace, well,
• 12:37
Speaker 1: there's an intimate event in an email that Howard Lutnick
• 12:40
Speaker 1: emailed to Epstein's people, and Epstein to get him to
• 12:43
Speaker 1: come to your intimate event at Cantor Fitzgerald, a very
• 12:46
Speaker 1: small event, and so I'm not going to put up
• 12:49
Speaker 1: with it, If you want to yell at me, that's fine,
• 12:51
Speaker 1: but I'll yell back, okay? I'm looking out for survivors.
• 12:55
Speaker 1: I'm doing the job that you refused to do as
• 12:58
Speaker 1: Secretary of State. Thank you, and I yield back to
• 13:02
Speaker 1: Congresswoman Luna. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up
• 13:05
Speaker 1: right there, and in the next episode dealing with the topic,
• 13:07
Speaker 1: we'll pick up where we left off. All the information
• 13:10
Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: description box.
