- Ted Turner: What's up, Dog Nation? Ted Turner with Dogs Down South. Welcome to the bye week for Georgia. I'm here with my man, Bridge Man Fish. We're going to get down to it tonight. I dropped my last episode of the overreaction show on Sunday night, fresh off the loss. And so now these boys get a chance to get in here. And we're gonna do it this way tonight. We're gonna start with all the negativity, and then we're gonna pile on the positivity. And then we're gonna figure out where we land. So, gentlemen, Georgia loses a tough one, twenty seven, twenty four. a lot can be said about this game in terms of what should have went right, what could have been better, what should what what went wrong, what should have went better, coulda shoulda woulda's basically is what it comes down to. But I know myself and you guys and Dog Nation is all feeling the same way and it's Wednesday night, it's the bye week, and I think today is just a day for dog nation and for us to just go, let's get it out there, let's put it to bed though, and let's move on. But first question, scale of one to ten, I'll Richman: So Ted Turner: go to you, Richman first. How how how concerned are you about this Georgia law? Richman: Man, I don't know. I am concerned. I mean, before the game, I would have said I'm not concerned at all about our whole schedule. And now, you know, I've got some questions. you know, on a scale of one to ten, one being the most concerned and ten not being concerned at all? I'd say I'm probably about a six, I guess. Ted Turner: Yeah, and we're gonna talk about what what maybe some of those concerns are. What about you, Fish? scale of one to ten. You obviously were at the game. a rich man said it before we opt on. He said, Man, you guys both went to the game and that all that crap happened and you had some extra stuff happen. So it Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: just wasn't a really amazing day in terms of outcome, but memories are made obviously. But one to ten, man, what do you think? How how much does this game worry you? Adam Fisher: seven. Seven. Say a seven. it's a lot of there were the least Ted Turner: Are we seven? Are we ten is like panic? Ten is panic? Adam Fisher: n okay, all right. So all right, we'll do it like that. Ten is panic, one is not at all. So give me a give me three. Ted Turner: Okay. Okay. Adam Fisher: I'm not I'm I'm not a hundred per I'm not I'm not too worried. There are some things and that we need to work on obviously coming off a loss, that that's always the case. But I think there were also a lot of some outside factors that played into that too. things that don't normally happen, to us or any football team, Ted Turner: Yeah. Well, do you guys think George, here's the the big elephant in the room that Auburn fans I mean, I've taken the heat all week already. I've put some videos out there and that's fine. It is what it is. I will tell you my first thing I will say tonight is is Auburn, you do your part. We'll do our part and we'll see you in the SEC championship. But at the end of the day, did Georgia did Georgia lose the game or or was Auburn just too much? Do they come prepared and do they beat Georgia? That's the that's the big question. And I would tell you, three things is number one, if you can measure this up and go, if we don't have three turnovers, right? And I know the key one was the fumble, but you could also look back and go, the other ones, positions where we were gonna be, where they drive killers, if we tackle better. And I would say injuries Richman: Okay. And I'll say again. Ted Turner: I think stirred this game a little bit. injuries combined with we just looked a little tired, man. we looked a little tired. We didn't tackle well. Nine game SEC schedule. This is not excuses. This is real, guys. Auburn looked a little bit more peppy, right? Well, they had eleven games, you know, I mean sorry, eleven days to prepare for Georgia, whereas six days before that, Georgia's playing Alabama in a dog fight, no pun intended, in a dog fight in Tuscaloosa at night. That's an extra day. You don't get a day. It's a night game, right? So when you look at those two characteristics and you take away those care those things, we still have the opportunity to win. And I thought we still were going to sneak out of there with one. but it didn't, the cars didn't fall our weight this time. But saying that, what let that kind of stir that around the, between you guys. What do you I mean, you take those three things away, where are we at? Richman: My biggest concern was, I mean, we were not physical at all. I all were jumped on us with all four claws and stuck them in us. And they hung on for four quarters. I just, went, you know, going into the game, I wasn't concerned at all. I mean, even Kirby comes out after the game and says, well, we were emotionally drained and we were we were physically beat up and I, first of all, I can't believe a head coach would even acknowledge that. Even if that was the case, I mean, that just sounds, that sounds sissy to me, but, but I just thought the physicality of this team and the, the, the way that we played all season, I thought physically we would out match Auburn no matter what, even if they came out in, you know, If they jumped up on us with two scores in the first quarter, which they've done before and gave us a good game, I was thinking by the fourth quarter, physically, we would be whipping them. it was complete opposite. And I just, I have a hard time fathoming that. I just can't get over that. They came to play, buddy, and they didn't let up, that's for sure. Now we played, we didn't tackle well. We had some people out in key positions. But, and actually I think the biggest thing with the whole game was Gunner. I mean, I don't know what, you know, they're saying, he wasn't hurt. And I'm like, well, he wasn't hurt, but he definitely was playing like he had his bell rung for most of the second and third quarter. So I don't know, man. What a crazy day. Ted Turner: Bish. Fish, what do you do you agree? Disagree or I mean I'm gonna I'm gonna be devil's advocate. I mean, me and Rich go way back, so Adam Fisher: Well I I agree, but I mean you can't tell me that Georgia didn't need an o like a a off week or a bye after the Alabama game. Ted Turner: Yeah. I mean, the we're the latest team to get one. Adam Fisher: that was basically a national championship game. Ted Turner: Yeah. I mean we're the latest team to get one. Adam Fisher: Yeah. And so, you know, there were ev yep. We were beat up, banged up, you know, there were people hurt, no KJ Bolden, which we really missed him and his tackling ability, 'cause that man doesn't miss tackles. Jamarley Riddle, God bless him, was just out of his depth. there was one instance in the second or third quarter, it was third and short, and Brown's about to r he does a it's a Q B sneak or, run. And Riddle comes up and has him dead to rights and just whiffs. And, you know, and who knew that Brown was gonna come out and play like Trinidad Chambliss, who was gonna have like the best game of his season so far, you know, but that's how it goes when you're at the top. Everybody has their best game and their best day against you because It's easy to get up for those games. And I mean, you were there, dude. The stadium wasn't full. It wasn't that loud. Tell me you've heard Sanford louder than that before. I know I have. like it was just there were a lot of factors that just line up, you know, if you look at it, that yeah, I mean, we were at a disadvantage, you know, mentally, physically, you know, and th there w And Auburn came to play, don't get me wrong. that's not the same Auburn team, that played, Florida a few weeks ago. that was a different team. That was their best game of the season, and that was probably our worst game of the season, and we still almost won, which is saying something. But, you know, we had our opportunities. Ted Turner: yeah, and I and I'm hearing both of you guys. I agree with both of you. Now Rich Man, I I think you probably are coming from the part of You're coming from the part of back in the day where this is this is different football nowadays. These these guys, fans are to the right of going, okay, look, you know, this is what should be going on, all this millions of dollars going to these kids, you know, coaches. This the part about that you said is very much right, but here's the part where everybody is very wrong. College football, Richman: you Ted Turner: coaches can't Change what college football has become. Culture is not built anymore. It is, it is instilled. It's injected. It is a fast shot and not a slow drip anymore like it used to be. I mean, there are players out there. There, I I would beg to differ that maybe there's only about 40% maybe of the players on both teams that actually understand what the Georgia Auburn tradition is. I mean, there are players out there that are go. Whoop D, we're playing Auburn. It's just this it's it's this a team over there in Alabama, right? Deep South's oldest rivalry. How many games has it been? is it Kirby's job to instill that in them? No. He needs every minute he can to coach. They're telling you you can't you can't see these players but X amount of time. they got to get treatment. They got to do this, they got to do that. You got to buy week. Do you, do you press them hard and and try and and and help with help the injury front, or do you don't press them and you get It's just so many decisions and so much pressure on these coaches and these players. And yes, they make millions dollars, but that is not anything that we created. That's not what the fans created. That's not what the coaches created. That is not even what the players created. That's what college football and the NCAA created. So now these coaches and these fans have to learn how to deal with this, right? So it is a week to week basis. Auburn had way more to win on Saturday. They had way more to win. They had more going wrong for them this year. It was everybody heard I heard it the last two weeks before the game. Alex Golish was out of his he was out of his league. he brought his whole USF team over, this, that and the other. And all Georgia has heard is You hear that? That's all they've heard. Richman: Okay. Ted Turner: They've heard quiet. They haven't heard they have they've heard, man, Gunner, he looks he looks the best he's looked since he we said it. these receivers, they're they're looking better than ever. We talk we we worried about them. We're stopping the run better than ever. We beat Bama, we're coming off a high. This team needed some adversity, and you really, really want it to be, and I'm not taking it away from Auburn, but if you want it, you want it now where you get it and you get two weeks of the dose, it's the double dose of medicine. And then you come in and you go, no, I will tell you, whatever you see against Florida, yeah, that's the team that that's the team you're gonna deal with the rest of the year. We're gonna figure out who we are against Florida, and then you're gonna look you you can't really make excuses. You can't look at them and go, well, we were tired. Well, maybe we're injured. Everybody's dealing with injuries, everybody gets a bye week, but to wrap all that up, it's like I sat in that stadium fish, like you said, and there's people that sit back there and they make some stupid comments, man. Just some stu absolute stupid comments. It's like, it's like, Gunner, man, we need to take him out. What? What what take him out? Okay. Adam Fisher: They came out. Ted Turner: Like what are like what you can. That's fine. That's your choice. We should take him out. But he also took you on a 94-yard drive, and he, and you know what? They made a good play. All right. I even mentioned on the show a couple days ago, I put that ball in the hand of a running back, but I'm not Kirby Smart. I'm not Mike Bobo. But with everything that was going on throughout the day and the possibilities of Gunner, like you say, Rich Man, maybe he felt it felt a little bit off with him, Maybe if I'm thinking Richman: Well, I think the top webs had cleared by the, in that drive he did in the fourth quarter to come back and score. I mean, that was a beautiful drive. mean, I don't know how many passes he completed, but it was. Ted Turner: If he hits that run though, it hit earlier for twenty yards. What mean, Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: we're not even talking about this. We are kicking a game winning field goal. We're being a part of the hedges being we're not gonna that's the crazy part too. I don't wanna take this away from Auburn, but we're not my god, I can't wait to say we're not storming the field, bro. Like it's not it's not that kind of a win for us. Adam Fisher: Not beating Auburn, no. Ted Turner: It's not that kind of a win Richman: breath. Ted Turner: for us, you know? but man, Auburn d I mean, Auburn deserved it. The three things I would tell you that I heard, I heard Davin Bellamy and and I really like what Davin Bellamy talked about on on a podcast he was on, and it gives some answers and some clarity to some things. Georgia, you you look at Tennessee the week before, and a lot of people go, Tennessee, Jim Knowles, better defense. He's a really great defensive coordinator, obviously, against Alabama, they did some really great things against Alabama. The difference in Keelan Russell And Brown is Brown's 6'3, 240 pounds, right? Keelan Russell's maybe that, but he's about a buck eighty, you know? And Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: so we play a Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: lot of man coverage, is what Davin said. And we're not going to die by s by who we're who we who we are not. That's just not who we are. And that's been Kirby, that's been Glenn Schumann. And fans can be as pissed off as they want to about that. But that it has produced national championships, SEC championships, and more, way more wins than losses, right? So a lot of people could Richman: Yeah, so. Ted Turner: be like, let's just let's just be a zone team for a game. Tennessee did it. Well, Tennessee did it with a a defensive coordinator that has barely had six weeks of playing with these of of coaching with these guys, right? In game situations. So when you do that, like you like we said earlier, it's like you're relying on tackling. Tackling has to be made because if it's not, seven yards turns into seventeen, and we saw that happen. We lived and we died by man coverage. Quarterbacks love to see that. And also in man coverage, Richman: Yep. Ted Turner: When when Brown is the carrier, guess what else you gain? You gain a running back who is an extra blocker, who now you're dealing with ten on nine, and we saw that all day long. But I just I just Richman: Yep. Ted Turner: think that in my mind, you take away those those things, you take away what we're gonna live and die by, and we still were in the game. We still were in there to win it. But what I will post avoid to you guys is, and I said this in the chat before we kind of put Auburn to bed for a little bit, talk about some other things going around. Richman: Okay. Ted Turner: have our own bye week, but do you guys both agree? Do you think the key going forward is the fact of we have to get this defensive line that we were so raving about? We need pressure from those guys. Because when we have to send that favorite blitz of Glenn Schuman, which is that that dog, or I think it's called a fire dog or a bird dog, it's basically Raylan and Justin. Peeling their ears back to get pressured, right? We are so exposed. And so even if you take KJ out of that mix, who KJ would have made that play. KJ would have made that play in the end zone. bar none. Adam Fisher: Sure would Ted Turner: But like, guys, we have we have some really good players on the front line. I mean, I would tell you the number one key going forward is if we can get our defensive line to let our linebackers run free and we're running into SEC opponents. Fish, you're right. The Auburn line had the best, the best game they had all year. The Auburn offensive line had the best game they had all year. But what but that's my key. But if you had one thing that each of you guys could name, I feel like if you give me four guys getting pressure on the quarterback, I know our linebackers can can cover. I know our linebackers can get the quarterback on the ground, and I know our D Bs are good enough. But when you make us get exposed and that six, that six after you send the two doesn't get there. We're five we're five V five, we're five V six. You got the quarterback's legs and then we're five V seven. It's hard. Fish, what about you? is if there was one thing that you got out of all this and you go, if we could do this, maybe not the stake prone, but like something scheme wise better in the next five games and it will predict the outcome, like what would it be? Adam Fisher: Know we had five sacks, didn't we? Like, you Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: we still we still got pressure, we still got there five times, know, and we've already got more Richman: Yeah, we. Adam Fisher: sacks now than we had all the last season. And you know, so but I do agree, I hate blitzing Raylan and just and grip or and Williams at the same time. Both are middles coming up the middle at the same time. Raylan He's a good blitzer, man. He gets hella pressure, but I don't know. I'm not a defensive coordinator and I never have been. I didn't play, middle linebacker in college or anything like that. But I think Raylan is better served patrolling the field. Especially when we don't have KJ in the back getting everybody lined up, because man, he's a field general back there. And we felt him not being there. And I hate to say that we don't we don't live and die with him, I'm not saying that. But dude, you cannot underestate his value and importance to our defense. Like Ted Turner: Yeah, and I don't mean to I don't mean to cut you off, but I don't mean to take your your time, Rich. But Richman: Thank Adam Fisher: No, go ahead. Ted Turner: guess what? First round picks don't grow on trees. Okay? Jamari Riddle is not a first round pick right now. there's Richman: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: not anybody on that side of the ball right now that could say right now they could go top ten, other than KJ Bolden on that side. Maybe. Maybe Ellis. But my thing is this, man. KJ Bolden has been playing it out of his mind this year. And it was a little bit I mentioned it on Sunday night. I was I was sitting at Foley. I look to my left and I see a guy walk by. Now, here's the good news, guys. He was moving pretty well in that boot. he was moving pretty well. So let's just hope that means this precautionary, right? And I'm like, Okay, number one, that's K J. Number two, that ain't good. Right? Hello, he says a few words, really nice guy. we we talked we chatted for a few minutes. he obviously I I would I didn't ask him a dumb question 'cause Richman: So, So Ted Turner: He's not gonna say it. He's not gonna comment on it. But what I will say is, is I asked him, I said, Man, I said, I see the boot, man. How are you feeling? He I'm good. He said, I think I'm gonna be good. And so now from him, that's his rounding it up to be like, hey, this is precautionary. Could we abuse him that day? Yeah. But I think I think we can look back at all this and go, he's number one. He's first round talent, man. And when you and they don't grow on trees, when you take first round talent out of a secondary, you're gonna get what you got, right? Richman: You're gonna feel it. Adam Fisher: W would you rather have beaten Alabama and lost to Auburn or lost to Alabama and beat Auburn? Richman: I'd rather beat Alabama. Ted Turner: I'm fisting the pull of fish. I would've r I'd have rather be boat. Adam Fisher: Yeah. Me too. Ted Turner: That's a you 'cause you cheat a lot of time. But but I get it, man. Richman: Well. Ted Turner: But what about you, Rich? Man, like what w what's one thing you don't cheat either. What's one thing scheme wise that you feel if we do this Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Richman: Well, I agree with you because when you stunt, if you don't make the play when you stunt, you leave something wide open and you can get burned, So you live and die by the stunt. It's better to play, heads up football and stunt occasionally when they're not expecting it. But Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Richman: at least, that's just what I think. it's just neither here nor there, but Ted Turner: No, you're you're right. where did we get beat on Saturday? Quarterback run when we did what? Richman: Well, one thing is we ran those stunts and we would bounce off the dadgum quarterback. that goes back to the tackling too. Even the announcers were like, dude, you got to hit him lower. He's too big to hit up high, you know? Adam Fisher: Well, because all season we've just been hitting people and knocking them down, but this guy was huge. Like this is a different animal. Richman: But you know, mean, Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Richman: I'll go back. mean, the whole team looked like they were, I mean, it looked like zombies. We were moving so slow. Chris Cole Ted Turner: Come on, man. Come on, man. Come on. Richman: was getting smoked out there and I'm like, dude, he's super fast. How is he getting smoked? Ted Turner: I think we're tired, but I I think it's Richman: I just, I have a hard time getting over that. I just don't understand how you win a game like Alabama and your momentum and your... self-confidence doesn't just explode and you're ready to go out there and stomp the next person. I just don't get that. Ted Turner: Well, well, let me ask you this. These are kids, right? Let's let's I love that. Thank you for thank you for teeing it up for me. These are kids, right? Why do they go out and drive 95 miles an hour in in in their cars? They know the speed Richman: Was that Cain? Ted Turner: limits. They know the speed limits 55. They're gonna get up for Alabama. Everybody has told them everything. They you you can't beat Alabama. Kirby Alabama owns you. This you are up. You are ready to go. Complacency? Kirby says it. It's Richman: Well, Ted Turner: Humbleness is one week away. Richman: let me ask you this, because it seems like that's been insinuated. And I don't remember where I heard it, but somebody said, okay, now Kirby's going to have their undivided detention and they're going to be extremely coachable now. So are we to think that they were reading the papers that they were thinking, Hey, we're number one. Nobody can beat us now. Is that, mean, I don't Adam Fisher: I that Richman: know. Nobody knows what the, what the team psyche was. But are we to assume that? I don't know. Ted Turner: Is Adam Fisher: it could it could happen. they're they're kids. That's that's that's an easy that's an easy possibility. one you beat Alabama, you got that monkey off your back, that was a huge win. Richman: I mean, I played football on an undefeated football team and every week it got harder. And by the end of the season, we all hated the coaches because they were killing us and we kept winning. When another game that got harder, Ted Turner: W What year was what year was that? What year was that? Richman: 82 maybe, 81, 82. But no, I mean, I Ted Turner: Mm. That that's not what college football is anymore. That's not what high school football is anymore. Richman: don't know that any football is like that now. But the point I was making is that the coaches, they had a system to keep us. focused and aggressive. And that's Ted Turner: So let me ask you this. Richman: why Kirby makes 10 million bucks, He's supposed to get them fired up and ready to play. That's his jacks. Ted Turner: Rich man, rich man, you are gonna create great podcast material tonight. Because I'm because I love you, but at the end of the day, that has nothing to do. Kirby cannot control them on the field. If if anybody what let me ask you this. You think you do you think that Notre Dame showed up to just lay an egg Saturday? Because they lost? You think Texas showed up to lay an egg? Because they Richman: Yeah, top seven took Ted Turner: lost. Richman: the top seven took it on the chin. That's for sure. Ted Turner: You're in a you're in a time in college football where it is getting there is number one, there is not a second teamer right now that is gonna sit the bench and be really good for you anymore because there's millions of dollars out there to be had because they're they're not playing for Texas. They're not playing for Georgia. They're playing for the University of Oopville as long as they're making a million dollars. They don't give a damn. They can drive the car Richman: All Ted Turner: they want to, and they can still get drafted. They can. Adam Fisher: Dude. This this was the best weekend to take the L. there was so much camouflage, 'cause they didn't give a crap about the number one team losing. It was Texas losing and Notre Dame losing. That just Richman: Notre Dame, yeah. Adam Fisher: completely took it all off of us. And I was so happy by the end of the night. I was like, okay, we lost. It sucks. I never like to lose. I don't. I'm competitive. But if we had to lose, Richman: Yeah, and Alabama lost again, so... Adam Fisher: I know and This was the absolute best time to lose. Richman: Well, yeah, think I actually think so. mean, I think that this is a this is an opportunity for the for these guys to crystallize their goals and, move forward and and take it really serious every week. Ted Turner: Well, if you think if you think Georgia's not on I don't think it's Georgia. I don't think these players, I think Kirby does the one of the best jobs in in the in college football of keeping the noise down, keeping reporting down. But guys, everybody these are kids, everybody has a cell phone. Everybody you tell your kid don't go on this website, they're they're going they may not go on it today, but they'll try it at some point. If you don't think these kids are gonna go, what are they saying about me and go look for it? They will. Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: But I will tell you this. I follow Chris Cole. I follow Ellis Robinson. I follow a couple of players. they follow the podcast back. Can I tell you what? Bubble hasn't been lit up. Their social media bubble since we lost to Auburn. So it's like, I haven't even seen this. I mean, this kid, these kids are like people have this whole thing that it's like, well, let me ask you guys this, because I've heard it so many times and I want to hit it. What is what is what are we really saying when we go we didn't show up today? What what is what are we saying there? I I have my version of it, but I'm curious to see when y'all say that, what are you saying? Because I saw you text it, Fish, and I saw you, Rich Man. Rich man, I'll let you go first. What are you say when you say they didn't show up today? What do you mean by that? Richman: Well, it was physically obvious that that Auburn was very physical and and held the moment. I mean, after the first two scores, Auburn didn't lay down and that when they came back, they were much more physical. and maintain the momentum most of the game. I mean, the momentum swing that we had was that drive that the fourth quarter. That was pretty much it. Ted Turner: Bish? You type two I just curiosity, what Adam Fisher: I mean the the pr the Ted Turner: do you mean when they say they didn't show up? Or they with the bit? Adam Fisher: Well, I the team we've watched the first five weeks of the season or the first six weeks of the season versus the team that trotted out on the field Saturday. looking at stats and everything and Gunner, after the first two drives, we were a different football team. It's like the wind got sucked out of our sails or Auburn got, got hyped like just Richman: Well, I'll tell you something else that can affect that is when gunner. If you're on the field and your confidence is in your quarterback and you see that the quarterback is stumbling, whether it's physically or mentally or something's off, that's gonna affect everybody, especially on offense. And that could have been the, I mean, those guys, they probably sensed it better than we did. Ted Turner: Mean I think there was I think there was scheme stuff. I think I think Alabama, I think when you give me a test like Alabama, and you make me you make me do everything right against a team like Alabama who is playing at a high level when we played against them, and then you turn around and you give me another game plan the following Sunday. I played a night game, so I lost a day and I had to travel. So that's probably Monday. Then I gotta turn around, I got a scheme for Byron Brown, who's she's kinda the same. And then I gotta go tackle him. And then I gotta I gotta play against a DJ Dirk in defense who it's it would be time for them to either flop or can or to improve, right? But man, Albert, it's 11 days to just sit and just go, what does Georgia do? What are they gonna do? How are they gonna, how are they gonna respond in the second half? This is not, this is not the, you know, this is not Hugh Freeze. This is Alex Golish. These guys are hungry, man. they're looking there going, I have a chance. They're not saying SEC championship. They're not saying I can tell you right now what Auburn's hunting, they're not talk they're not really they're they're gonna play L S U, but they're they're thinking in the back, who they're thinking in the back of their mind right now, today, who's who's the next Goliath for them? Alabama. Richman: Alabama. Ted Turner: If they can beat George and Alabama in the same year, Golish is Golish has done something that, Richman: Thank you. Ted Turner: Hugh Freeze couldn't do. Not only the same year, but he couldn't do it at a consistent basis. What were you gonna say a minute ago, Fish? Adam Fisher: Last time Auburn beat us and Bama in the same year, Georgia and Alabama ended up playing for the national championship, so bring it Ted Turner: Nineteen f nineteen forty two? Yep. Yeah, I agree. I agree. The reason I ask all that was that was just because I feel like, scheme had a lot to do with it. injuries, I I don't think Auburn has better players. I don't think they have stronger players. I don't think they have a better quarterback. I just think there was some scheme things that really just didn't go our way. I mean, you know, man coverage, the blitz not getting there. Where did the pass hurt us most? Third and five. Where did they throw it? Richman: So. itself. Ted Turner: Right where the linebackers left from. We couldn't get pressure up front with four because they're tired. They're beat up. I'm sure Alabama had an improved line as well. they, excuse my language, they got our the we we we got our ass handed to us on the front just like their defensive line did by our offensive line. it was a battle all night long. And we had to send two more to try to get pressure on Brown. And we just left the middle of the field. He wasn't throwing 20 yard passes, guys. He was throwing five and 10-yard dinks. And we couldn't tackle, so they turned into 20 yard plays. So I don't know, man. it's it's definitely frustrating, but at the end of the day Richman: Well, you know, another thing too, Albert's offensive line had been under a lot of scrutiny. I don't know if they got a bulletin board, but it, there was probably a lot of bulls and board material that they could put up and, work those guys for two weeks on a scheme. I mean, they played very aggressive. I'll just say that. Adam Fisher: And and not showing up not showing up for a game is not exclusive to the players. Like Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Adam Fisher: the coaches gotta show up too. And it's easy to sit here and think that since these guys are getting paid millions of dollars to do a job, that they're gonna bring it at the same one hundred and ten percent, make the right play, make the right call every time. That does that's not the case, man. Everybody's human. We're all or we're all human, I should say. Richman: So you're saying that when Kirby came out after the game and said that we were emotionally drained and physically beat up, that was his patsy because he Adam Fisher: Mm Richman: didn't prepare him? Adam Fisher: Maybe. I'm sure that he was prepared. I'm sure we were as prepared as we could be, but there were a lot of other factors going into that too. It wasn't just that we weren't ready. Richman: But what you just said, what you just said though, the coaches, could they have possibly been looking forward down the road because this was going to be such an easy game based on what Auburn had looked like previously? Maybe. Adam Fisher: Who knows? It's easy to think and I would love to think that our coaches don't do that, that Kirby's not capable of doing something that he won't overlook anybody, but Richman: We're all human. Adam Fisher: that's right. Ted Turner: think we get I also think we get brain fogged in the fact of going this is the SEC. I know we weren't supposed to lose to Auburn, but you know what? At the end of the day, I really don't think any of us got the Tennessee Alabama game right, did we? I don't think we got the Texas game right. I think everybody I think everybody who's tried to bet on Kentucky Richman: No. Adam Fisher: Nope. Ted Turner: bet against Kentucky this year has lost their whole house. Maybe maybe Richman: Yeah Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: some of their savings account. I mean so I I I definitely think like you gotta look at Kirby and go like The guy's not screwing with you. He keeps saying it. It each week Richman: The Kirby's Ted Turner: each week is a different week. Richman: Kirby says you're one week away from getting humble in the SEC and Adam Fisher: All right, you know. Richman: he's not lying. we're all there. Ted Turner: would you who would you say right now? power rankings show, I I I had it like this, but I didn't want to be the bandwagon fan, but I still had Georgia at number one in the power rankings. But is the can I just tell you something? There's a team that's been floating around between two and ten in the last four weeks and has been hovering below the hard deck. I'll go top gun for you real quick. You know who that is? That's Ole Miss. And guess what? They got beat by Florida early on in the year and everybody was like, this ain't the this ain't the same old Miss team. They they they got what Georgia's getting this week and they have responded. So I would tell you like this, if that's what it takes, kudos. It's a great time to lose, right? To Auburn, does it hurt? Yeah. But I will tell you, a lot of people said for Auburn fans that a lot of Auburn fans were on they were on life alert. They were on the slow drip that puts them to death. Richman: Thank Ted Turner: as far as the football program is concerned. Hell, they've been they've been really banking on the basketball program for the last two or three years. So at the end of the day, kudos, Auburn. You you you probably did deserve it. You probably did need it. maybe we needed it. Richman: What's it? And another thing I didn't know before the game, but Alex Goebel's life story. I didn't realize his family, they were immigrants from Russia in what 1994 or so. What a story. mean, guy comes Adam Fisher: Yep. Yep. Richman: here from the Soviet Union and. He becomes a football player and a football fan and a football coach. Then Adam Fisher: Yep, spoke zero English when he moved over here too. Richman: yeah, what a story and that's amazing. So I'm gonna be a fan of his. And hopefully they, I'm pulling for him to beat Bama this season, I'll Ted Turner: a f I'm a fan of theirs. Adam Fisher: Long as he doesn't continue to beat us, yeah, I'll be the fan too. Richman: tell you that. Ted Turner: I hope they win out. I hope like I said earlier, I hope they do their job. Hope they do their job. We do our job and we'll figure it out when we get the rematch. We'll figure out who needs to get up for a game, and that's where I'll leave that at. And, before I even close out this part, I tell you, you look at the the pageantry of the SEC right now, and it's been played out pretty much as people didn't want to say, but they started saying it after they started seeing remnants of it. you look at Richman: think everybody had a slight fear this nine game season is going to shred Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Richman: the SEC. Adam Fisher: So Richman: And I'm still a little worried. I'd like to think that we're going to walk through this thing and finish out with no losses in the regular season, but no more losses in the regular season. you go back and look at our schedule, we still got a couple of tough games ahead of us. Adam Fisher: So we run the table, Auburn runs the table, Tennessee runs the table. Who gets in? Ted Turner: Tell us. Adam Fisher: And who are they playing? They playing us? No, to the SEC championship I'm saying, I'm sorry. Not the not Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: the C F P. Ted Turner: Yeah, because to Richman: Auburn would get in because they defeated us head to head. Adam Fisher: So would you li would would it would it hurt your Ted Turner: Well well Adam Fisher: feelings to be a one loss team sitting there on the outside like not having Ted Turner: Auburn. Adam Fisher: to play in that SEC championship game? Ted Turner: Auburn has two SEC losses. Richman: Okay. Adam Fisher: But they beat us. okay, so there's no tiebreak. Okay, you're right. There's no tiebreak. Okay, gotcha. My bad. Duh. Alright. Don't revoke my fandom. Ted Turner: Yeah, but it doesn't matter. We would only have one loss. Yeah. No, it's all good. Richman: Yeah, yeah. But to your argument, it wouldn't be, if it worked out, I'd rather be the third man out and not play in the SEC Championship and then go into the playoffs. Adam Fisher: Yeah, we still get in with two losses, I know, but I don't I don't I don't think we'll lose again. Ted Turner: I wouldn't mind playing in the SC championship. This is the last time you're gonna see it, so I think it's gone. I think it's done, but we're we're kinda going it Richman: Well, I was thinking that we were going to end up playing Alabama again. that's, don't think that's going happen. Adam Fisher: Tennessee had other plans. Ted Turner: There's nothing Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: there's nothing right now going up to par. you look at Auburn, you can look at that and and go wow. You look at South Carolina, some of the wins they've had, some of the losses they've had. You look at Kentucky, who you who a lot of people, including myself, picked to be in the bottom three of the SEC. you look at Adam Fisher: Me too. Ted Turner: Ole Miss, who started the the year out with a a loss in the SEC. You look at L S U, who's taken a couple on the chin, but had a really you look at Mississippi State who started hot and now they've gone cold. if you can't look at you look at Tennessee who was coming into this Bama game and everybody was like, they don't have a quarterback. They played terrible against Stalburn. They couldn't find any continuity on offense. Defense looked great, but and then you look at all of it and how it's panned out and we sit here and the SEC's right back to the same stage where that we were before all that, which is nobody really knows who South Carolina is. Everybody's like, All right, Kentucky's a contender, but Kentucky still has some tough games. I think it's all right back to square one. Where we really don't know who any of these teams are. Richman: Can I make a comment about the SEC? It's a meat grinder and I think Texas and Oklahoma are just beginning to realize that. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. I would tell you, and we're gonna do it here at the end. We're gonna ask some questions, but I'm I'd be curious at the end, we're gonna do a little panic meter at the end. But so let's close this part out. You know, Georgia honestly the the hot takes from all this is I still think Georgia, I think you guys agree, still a legitimate national championship and SEC contender. a lot of people are saying the same. I mean even even our granddaddy Paul Feinbaum says Georgia fans, just bump the brakes. you we don't think you have much to worry about. I think when you look at the great big scheme of things, you look at how college football is laid out right now, you're gonna get some of this. you're gonna get complacency. These are kids, and these are now kids with million dollar pockets. Auburn loss exposed some problems, but you got a bye week, right? You got a chance to get healthy. you got some players that you can get back, and we'll talk about what that that could look like in a minute. Kirby should never lose a game like that. should never lose games like this. And we we all agree with that, right? On the on the great, when you look at it from the top, we all looked at it and we were like, spread, cover, do they not cover? I knew that the cover would be hard, because nineteen and a rivalry is twenty-one by the time we got there, and a rivalry always spells bad news. margin for error was small in this game, especially since Auburn didn't do much to really self-inflict Richman: you Ted Turner: their own wounds like Georgia did. but the The icing on the cake from all this is what do you take away from this? And Florida is a very dangerous opponent regardless of its record, and regardless of who who it's lost to, and regardless of it of what it's trying to figure out. I mean, they went and beat Texas with a with a quote unquote backup quarterback. We don't know who we'll see. I think Florida and Georgia are both coming in with a lot of questions about who they'll see. And we're definitely gonna preview Florida, not this week a whole lot because we're gonna have some fun in our bye week, but twenty fourteen playoff has been discussed as we move on, right? So what do you guys like? What's your first take, Rich Man? what's your first take on a twenty fourteen playoff? Richman: I it's crazy, mean, how many games is that going to be for the longest, know, somebody that trumps through that? That's going to be an insane amount of football games, which makes you think a team that doesn't have very much depth has got no chance whatsoever. Adam Fisher: Which is every team in America because of NIL Richman: I mean, we were talking about how much depth we had a week or so ago, and now we're looking at how beat up we are. yeah, I mean, it's gonna be crazy. I don't know, man. Ted Turner: I just think to speak to that, we don't think about sometimes what our depth looks like compared to who that depth is going up against. So of course, if my my depth looks good, but like if I'm putting them if I'm putting that depth in there, you know, and I'm lining up against an all an all SEC left tackle, yeah, there's gonna be a difference, right? Our depth looks great against the twos. Twos versus twos, yeah, our depth looks great. But, you know, I think that's for every team. I think when you look at it and you go, okay. Next man up, okay, it's next man up, but the guy you're going against has is Richman: So. Ted Turner: the first guy up, So, but yeah, I agree, man. it's gonna make it interesting. Richman: I you're going to be seeing situations where your next man up is a second string offensive in playing tackle somewhere in one of these universities that is going to end up in the playoffs that probably Ted Turner: Yeah. Richman: shouldn't be there. Ted Turner: Yeah. Richman: that's stuff you're gonna see. Ted Turner: in fish, I'll I'll note I'll note this before you I want to get your your comments on it. Nineteen at large teams would be selected by the committee. Nineteen teams, bro. We're close, man, to the basketball tournament. four conference winners and a plus one is a guarantee for a group of six champion. That would make the twenty four spots. Kirby said it yesterday in his press conference. He said, I think it's just gonna I think it's gonna make a lot of criticism for for the twenty to twenty eight. Which is the same as the criticism right now is for the twelve to twenty. Right? It it's always gonna be like, What can they do? But it fish any do you think this is a good move? Think there's a w is there any positivity from it, negativity from it, other than the fact of going, Maybe we don't have to sweat making the playoffs every Adam Fisher: Well, my biggest thing is the deletion of conference championships. But you're subbing because I'm an old school fan, I've been a college football fan my whole life. Was brought up with it. Both my parents are alumni. I eat, sleep, drink, eat, red and black football. but you are getting more meaningful games and we are all blessed enough to be fans of a team. But as long as we have Kirby, we're gonna be in line to make the top nine we're gonna be one of the top nineteen best teams in in the league every year. So that's just bonus football for us, ninety-nine percent of the seasons that we're gonna, see coming up. I I'm for it, you know. I wanna see some on campus playoff games. I really liked that last year. how fun would it be to go to a playoff game in Athens, you know? Like I'm getting tickets to that buddy. you best believe I'm gonna try. I I'm I'm for it as long I mean it's always it's all a money grab and and you know, they say, you know, every year, you know, this is gonna fix the, you know, deserving teams being left out, you know, given given spots to group of five teams that go in and get blown out in the first round. Well, that's not gonna look as bad because There's gonna be those two or three teams, aka like Notre Dame, who got left out last year, and I forget who else. Notre Dame was the big one, obviously. you know, those teams won't get left out now, supposedly. But then you know, when they went from four to twelve, that was the same thing, and when we had the same problem. Well, Richman: I'm sure Notre Dame will get an automatic bid every year, Adam Fisher: they have signed a contract, they have a contract in place if they're ranked in the top twelve. of the A P poll or something like that, that they are automatically given a spot into the CFP. Richman: and we'll have college football till February. Adam Fisher: So just more hand holding for Notre Dame 'cause they can't join a conference, man up and do it the right way. Ted Turner: Yeah. I just think it makes it more complicated. I like twelve. I think you still twelve teams to me w coming out of the four was like gold. 'Cause it's like, man, okay, it feels breathable Richman: Yes, it was exciting. Ted Turner: now, right? Twenty four seems like Nick Saban said this and I was like, I don't disagree with you, man. Is it twenty four teams that deserve to to have a spot in the national championship? or do we have twenty four good enough teams to play at championship level? And by the way, after you did this disaster of NIL and all this stuff with pay to play and everything, and so then you go, by the way, you're gonna need extreme depth. You're gonna be going well into playoffs, you're gonna have shorter Richman: you Ted Turner: regular seasons. I mean, brother, what what in the world? I mean, I think it's a it's it's just kind of one those things where it just makes it a little bit more weird. yeah, more money. More money for the SEC, more money for conferences. I got Greg in here. Greg, what time did you drop that comment? Don't think you can ever overthink any any team of the SEC Beth athletes. Best athletes in the States might see two teams in the SEC with two losses in the playoffs. He's not wrong. He said B reel. I don't I don't people what people see the SEC teams winning the ship. A lot of people. I mean, think I I think I mean you guys look at the big you guys talked to me about the big twelve. Richman: Okay. Ted Turner: the I excuse me, the Big Ten, the Big Twelve, I mean, w what do you other than I mean, do you feel like Notre Dame and BYU, do you feel like that game was was would felt like you were watching two championship teams? I mean BYU has Adam Fisher: No. Richman: Hi. Ted Turner: a really has a really cool addition at quarterback. But I don't see anything there that just kind of goes this game speed was not just phenomenal to me, even though I mean SEC game speed is just stupid, man. Richman: It Ted Turner: Like it's just stupid Richman: is. Ted Turner: good. so so for it, I know Fish, you said you're for it. I'm not for it at all. I I mean, f I think it sounds like a rich man's kinda on the on the fence as well, but I will tell you what twenty four teams will bring to to the SC into college football is I think we'll be talking a lot less about college jobs changing so so quick because it'll kinda be one of those plus ones that they'll be able to, you know. Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: Somebody'll be able to walk into an office and be like, but I made the playoffs. I mean, what do you s what do you say to that? You be like, all right, well, Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: I I would tell you that if you make the if you make the tournament nowadays, Georgia's been out of the basketball tournament so long here and there in spots. I know we made it last year, but that I would I would beg to differ that if you could walk in that office and be like, I made the tournament this year, they'd be like, Yeah, you're right. That's that's enough to keep your job. It's probably gonna get down to that because coaching right now is very cutthroat. you have Brett Venables who who wins the Red River over Texas, and then the next week they can't find an offense against Kentucky. And it's like, guess what? One week you're on top of the world and you're and you're and you're keeping your job. The second week, maybe you're keeping your job, but you might have to throw Ben Arbuckle under the under the bus to keep it because your offense is that terrible. And I would say the same thing with Georgia. One week you're You're on top of the world, you beat Alabama, everybody's everybody's talking about how great you are. And man, humbleness and adversity is one week away and it happens. So well let's go ahead. Yeah. Adam Fisher: I mean that's why it's a saying because like it's true. Richman: Yeah. Adam Fisher: It happens. that's why people say it because it's legit. especially in our conference. Richman: And it's not necessarily a bad thing because if it gets these guys attention and they crystallize these goals and walk through this thing and get a national championship out of it, we're going to look back at this game and say thank you. Adam Fisher: Well here's my hot take. No undefeated teams will make the CFP in twenty twenty six. Richman: I think you're right. Ted Turner: Say that again? Adam Fisher: No undefeated teams will make the CFP in twenty twenty six. Ted Turner: Yeah. That's a that's not a hot take. That's probably a truthful take. I Adam Fisher: Yeah. Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: I could agree with that. let's Richman: Great. Ted Turner: do this. Let's talk about I think it'd be cool to talk about last five games of the season, kind of blimp view of what we're heading into. Because we don't get a chance to look forward too much, but on the bye week. And then we're gonna do a little a little a little Q and A at the end. I wanna see what we have some questions at the end, wanna get your takes. We'll do a flash round, hot take flash round at the end. But so Georgia's coming off a bye week. They'll start. I think Kirby said they practiced yesterday. They had bloody Tuesday. Wednesday, they they went light walk through. Tomorrow they will practice and they will give them off Friday and Saturday. And then they'll be back Sunday and start prep for Florida. so next five games, man, probably I would tell you that for dog fans, you're sitting here going, There's no, there's no valley, right? There's no Tennessee State in this, right? There's no Austin Peak. It's just straight run. And you gotta go play Florida at a weird site to play George, Florida. So that's gonna be new. That's gonna be different for both fan bases, both foot both football teams. you got a rivalry game and a chance to bounce back. A lot of a lot of stuff at stake Richman: So Ted Turner: there. Kirby doesn't want to hear, man. you got two two rookie coaches in the SEC that beat you back to back weeks. Georgia, Florida is another big rivalry, obviously, that goes back a long time. this is this is gonna be a lot on the players' plate, so I don't think there's anything that not to get up for for them. then you got to go two old miss on November seventh, major road test, playoff game, playoff resume game for Georgia there. November 14th, you got a team that got humbled a little bit last week. but it's gonna be good. It's gonna be just I I feel like it could be kind of like an Auburn situation where they're coming in to to Athens. Georgia hasn't seen many night games in Athens. This could be a night game. I think for Georgia it needs to be a night game to get up from Missouri, right? and then you gotta go to South Carolina. You haven't been to South Carolina a while and we don't know where Richman: If we're, if we won all three of those games and we show up at South Carolina, that could be a trap game again. Ted Turner: Hundred percent, yeah. Hundred percent. these are all trap games, except for I think Ole Miss. There's no trap behind that one, but you can look at Richman: That's gonna be a tough one. Ted Turner: you can look at the fact that every single part of this there's used to being an Austin P or somebody in this. It's where that nine game schedule comes into play. We haven't played South Carolina at South Carolina. South Carolina's not unpredictable, but they've they've played games where you just look and go, Man, that's incredible. And then you play games where they scratch your head and go, What the hell are they doing? and then you got Georgia Richman: Thanks. Ted Turner: Tech, rivalry game at home. Postseason implications will be going high right there. And once again, it might be a game that Georgia Tech has everything to win and everything to lose. And I'm sorry, Georgia has everything to lose and Georgia Tech has everything to win. So just looking at that, just give me your take on fish, I'll go to you for like what's your take on all those five games? What sticks out to you the most? What do you think really kind of just you were to look at that and know the the frame of work we got to do in the next five to six weeks, what would you what would you throw into that? Adam Fisher: Bro, it's it's a gauntlet, it's an SEC gauntlet and all of a sudden, which people were saying our cakewalk of a schedule, is actually turning into hmm, not so fast. none of these games are are look bys or, anything we can look at and say, dub, dub, dub, dub. and we I hope that Kirby coaches them like that, you've then Rich said, that South Carolina game once upon a time, we didn't win in South Carolina. it that's a that was a har a hard place for us to go get a win. it's not a you know, if the fans show up, if Shane Beamer wins a few games between now and then and South Carolina is having a okay season, you know, maybe better than expected. You know, that thing's gonna be crowded, it's gonna be packed and you know, Sandstorm's gonna be blaring and that brings back P T S D for me because last time that happened we went in there and as a higher ranked team. I think we were a top ten team and South Carolina was unranked and they smoked us. So, they're the and Missouri, not always a easy win. I'm glad we're playing in our place because I don't think we have good luck there either. and it's it's it's gonna be fun to watch, man, and but we gotta be ready. Gotta be up for it. You gotta be motivated. Like they gotta want it 'cause it's not gonna be easy. Ted Turner: If you ask Google Gemini what the top three easiest remaining schedules is in the SCC, do you know who has the top three easiest schedules remaining? Adam Fisher: Tennessee. Ted Turner: Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt. Adam Fisher: Really? Richman: Wow. Adam Fisher: Tennessee has an extremely manageable schedule too. Richman: Alabama's still gotta play LSU, right? Adam Fisher: Yep. And auburn. Which all Ted Turner: Yeah. In Albert. Adam Fisher: of a sudden is a thing now. Richman: I think Auburn's gonna beat him. Ted Turner: Top three hardest schedules left Adam Fisher: Good Lord, that would be great. Ted Turner: are Missouri. They got to play Ole Miss, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Oklahoma. You want that slate? Adam Fisher: Wow. Nope. Ted Turner: LSU still has Mississippi State, Auburn. I'm sorry, that was previous. So they played last week, but Auburn, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee. Texas AM, Richman: Boop. Ted Turner: I don't have. what about you, Richmond? I mean, what do you when you see those five games, I mean what what sticks out to you? Then we're gonna Richman: You know, I think it looks tough to me. I mean, I think we end up 10 and 2. I'm really concerned about Ole Miss because historically we never play well there. And it seems like they finally figured, I know they figured their defense out last week. Ted Turner: Historically we didn't play well in Alabama either. So I'm hoping that that's I'm hoping that trend happens this year. Adam Fisher: Shoot, Mart Ritt used to go down to Hottie Toddy and catch a dub every now and then. That was one thing he was doing. Ted Turner: I'm hoping that trend happens this year. I'm hoping that trend happens this year for Richman: But I think if we come out of this 11 and one, I'll feel really good about moving forward all the way, but 10 and two looks very realistic possibility. And I Ted Turner: Ten and two gish in the playoffs. And at the end of the day Richman: don't even wanna think about those other two down there. You can just block those out. Ted Turner: What do you mean? Georgia Tech, South Carolina? Richman: No, the nine and three, eight and four. Ted Turner: yeah. I mean, Adam Fisher: yeah. Ted Turner: ten and two gets you in and we we've all seen, SEC championship, it's great to have one loss, two loss. I mean, once you get in there, it's two things, literally, two things. You gotta be hot and you gotta be healthy. It doesn't matter what your record is, you gotta be hot and you gotta be healthy because we've we've been we've not been both before. I almost think it would Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: I think it would play out well if we were just coming off of a of a of a game and then playing the next game instead of winning the SEC championship and waiting twenty seven days to play a game. know, I don't know. Maybe that's what a maybe Adam Fisher: Good Lord. That's terrible. Ted Turner: that's what the twenty fourteen playoff will kinda I guess per se help with, if I had to say. Yeah. Richman: Yeah, it should knock some of that out. Adam Fisher: It it's supposed to. That's that's one of the things that they Richman: I Adam Fisher: discussed, yeah. Richman: can't wait to see the bracket in the calendar and how this thing plays out. It's gonna have to go all the way to February 1. Adam Fisher: Well, it'll just start Ted Turner: It's Adam Fisher: earlier. It'll start the week of the SC of the champion conference championships, I believe. Ted Turner: Yeah. It's funny you should say that, Rich, because I have one dialed up for next week for an icebreaker. Adam Fisher: Nice. Ted Turner: So we're I have it I have it listed out and I'm gonna post it and we can look and see what some people are saying. If if right now if it was a twenty fourteen playoff, what would it look like? So I have it ready to go for next week. But Richman: That'll be fun to rip ya. Ted Turner: let's do this. Let's do a a real a a rapid fire question, Q and A at the end and let's pick the SEC games, even though we don't have one this week, Let's just try and strike out again because we picked all the games last week and hell, we might as well just up down. I don't know what the frick thing was. All right, so lightning Adam Fisher: I know, we're killing it so far, aren't we? I know, right. Ted Turner: round, really quick. Georgia's final season re regular season record. If you had to look at it right now, I know f I know that Richmond, you kind of gave your interest away, but if you look at Georgia's final regular season, you look at that slate, what do you think it will be? Christian, what do you Richman: I think it's 10 and 2. Ted Turner: Tish Adam Fisher: Eleven and one. Ted Turner: Yeah. You know what this team is after a bye week? They're nine and one. So I think ten and two is sitting there assuming that we don't have the talent to pony up with any of But if readiness comes on the if readiness steps up to the plate and, overlooking opponents comes off the plate, then I think we're eleven and one. So I'm a I'm a go with that fish. Rich Man, will Georgia reach the SEC championship? Yes or no? Richman: Yes. Ted Turner: Fish? Yes Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: or no? Adam Fisher: Yep, eleven and one, sure will. Ted Turner: Yeah, eleven to one. I they go. Will Georgia make the college football playoff Richman: or even at 10 and soon as possible. Ted Turner: fish? Adam Fisher: No, they're gonna o they're gonna lose the conference championship and and and not make it 'cause they're gonna get penalized for losing that second game. Yes. Definitely. Tennessee's gonna drop fifty six on us. Ted Turner: would be blown away at the stuff I've read, my friend. By our Yeah, there you go. Rich Man, playoffs, playoffs or bust. Richman: Yes. No playoff. Ted Turner: Fish biggest concern after Auburn. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching. Adam Fisher: how we live and die with Gunner. I'm not I'm not. How Ted Turner: Don't cheat. Don't cheat. Adam Fisher: we live and die with Gunner is my biggest concern. As he goes, so does our offense. And if we can't score points, we're not gonna win any game. Ted Turner: Yeah. Rich. Richman: That's interesting. I think... Ted Turner: You remember back in the day where you used to have a A, B, C, or all three of the you want the all three of the above, right? Adam Fisher: Yep. Richman: Yeah, all three of the above. I'm I'm going to go back to the defense and go back to what we were talking about earlier. can we get that pressure with the line? Can we maybe steer away from some of this incessant stunning? That's something I'm a little concerned about. Ted Turner: Yeah, I'm I'm defense. I'm I'm defense and I think it's gonna come down to My voice is going. our Achilles heel, we're gonna see some, we're gonna continue to see a lot of versatile quarterbacks. They can use their legs and have and have good arms this week, probably, depending on if we see Philo or Tramel Jones, or you're gonna see Trinidad Chambliss. you're gonna see Lenore Sellers, Adam Fisher: Austin Simmons. Ted Turner: Austin Simmons. I mean, it's gonna be defense. It's gonna be how we know, it's gonna be how we respond. Adam Fisher: It ain't getting any easier. It it's not getting any easier. Ted Turner: And and Missouri, not to look too far ahead, but Missouri does something that's very scary. And they could have Ahmad Hardy Ahmad Hardy back by then and they could they could they could very well stretch you horizontally, which is very deadly and what what Missouri's been doing to people a lot this year. but I but I definitely think it's the defense and I think it's I think that's gonna be our Achilles heel if it doesn't if it doesn't get right. Tackling, we've got to get healthy. All right. Well let's let's hop into some SEC picks. Fish seven thirty SEC network Vanderbilt goes to Kentucky. Dare you pick against Kentucky this week. Who you got? Adam Fisher: I'm not I learned my lesson, bro. Gimme Kentucky. And they cover. Ted Turner: Rich man, who you got? Richman: Kentucky. No trouble. Ted Turner: Dare any one pick against Kentucky. That here's a question for both of you guys. Is Kentucky a playoff team? Adam Fisher: They got a shot. Ted Turner: I know what you want to. I know what you want to see. I'll do it. Here's your remaining games for Kentucky. Kentucky has to go play Vanderbilt. They're at Tennessee, at home versus Florida, at Missouri, and Louisville. Adam Fisher: Very possible. It's very possible. Richman: I think they Ted Turner: I think Kentucky's a I think they're a ten and two team. Ten and two. Richman: drop through those. Ted Turner: Mm. Don't bet against Will Stein, man. The Steiner recliner. Big balls Stein. How do they call him? I got Kentucky, man. Vanderbilt is now the new Arkansas. so that's where we're at with that one. three thirty. Mississippi State, Oklahoma. Oklahoma is a four and a half point favorite. I don't think anybody would have had Oklahoma at a favorite. Unless they had seen the last couple games in Mississippi State. this is an interesting one. Who you got in this one, Fish? Adam Fisher: Matear still can't get it together. he hasn't shown me anything that's gonna give me any inkling or want to pick them. Give me Mississippi State. And a close one. Ted Turner: Richman, who you Richman: I'll take Oklahoma, but they don't cover. Ted Turner: Yeah, I like Oklahoma in this. I think I think we've seen when scheme has happened against Mississippi State and there's a lot on tape now. I think it's gonna come down to can Oklahoma's defense, which I like a lot, can they keep Camario Taylor under wraps? I mean, can they score enough? I mean, I think they can. If you'd have given me this game three weeks ago though, I'd have told you I think Mississippi State's gonna run all over But give me Oklahoma in a close one. They need it 'cause Venables can't do Red River and then lose Kentucky, Mississippi State. He just he just can't afford that. That Adam Fisher: That would be bad. Ted Turner: would be really bad. it'd be like, it'd be like my house is safe for two more years, and then you go, well, you call your broker and you're like, hold that thought. Adam Fisher: Mm. Ted Turner: three thirty man, number eleven Tennessee has the South Carolina. South Carolina is a two and a half point favorite right now on eleven number eleven, Tennessee. You got rich man. Richman: Woo! I'm gonna take South Carolina. Adam Fisher: wow. That'd be a huge upset. Ted Turner: South Carolina. Home. You got fish. Adam Fisher: Gimme Tennessee, dude. Tennessee's rolling. Hiful's got them boys playing. Ted Turner: Yeah, don't think the way Tennessee and this Jim Knowles defense, I've seen what a good defense can do to I'll give you a little heads up. When I saw South Carolina and Florida, which gave me a little bit of glimmer of hope because it is it is soft nation in that second area, Florida. I'm just telling you, I don't even care to I don't I don't care what you say, it's soft. What we don't do to go try to try to get some of it is is our fault. but I I like Tennessee in this game. I I I think South Carolina is still a team that has too many questions that they can finish. And, you know, can they can they but be can they be a team that can consistently win? And I haven't seen that in Shane Beamer, Shane Beamer air. Noon, interesting game here. Number number eighteen LSU heading into Auburn. LSU's two and a half points favorites. This is the only home game in the month of October for Auburn. who you got, Fish? Adam Fisher: Jimmy Auburn. Happy wife, happy life. Ted Turner: Are they real? Richman: You Ted Turner: Richman, Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: who you got? Richman: I'll take Auburn. Ted Turner: Dang. You boys think Giffen's going into Aub they hate Giffin, man. they they hate Giffin, bro. apparently Auburn is bringing in some extra horses. It's band alumni week, so the band is gonna be twice that twice as big. I I mean, at home, goalish coming off Georgia. I think this is big letdown, man. This is big letdown. Big, big letdown. LSU wins, man. L I I had I did not have LSU winning thirty one zero against Mississippi State. I think LSU might go in here and do something similar, man. I'm just saying. Big letdown. Adam Fisher: They might. Ted Turner: They better, they better have stopped worrying about Georgia really, really early this week and started worrying about let's shoot. That's all I'm saying. I got I got LSG, Richman: So. Adam Fisher: Yeah. For real. Ted Turner: man. I'm not going to put the three Alburns because that's going to make us all look as incompetent as we were last week. Adam Fisher: One of us has to know what they're talking about. Ted Turner: right. Somebody has to get lucky. That's what it really is. 330 ABC, Texas AM takes a travel down to Alabama. man, as bad as Texas AM has looked, if they could go to Alabama and beat Alabama, this could be the trifecta. when w when was the last time Alabama lost three in a row? Adam Fisher: nineteen seventy two. I've no idea. Ted Turner: Bro, it's gotta be a hell of a long time ago. Adam Fisher: It's gotta be somewhere before Bear Bryant. Ted Turner: This would be like Richman: Thank you again. Ted Turner: AM's like Elko and AM, this would be their resurrection for the year right here, right? Alabama is here's another one, fourteen point favorites at home against Texas AM. Who you Richman: Woo! Ted Turner: got, Fish? Adam Fisher: Well gimme Bama, man. A and M's not they're never done nothing this season so far to make me pick for them, like on in their favor. Dude, gimme Bama. I don't know if they cover or not. I think it's gonna be a little closer than that. But Ted Turner: take the I'll take the under on that. I don't let her cover Adam Fisher: Yeah, yeah. Gimme Bama. Ted Turner: Rich man, who you got? Richman: I'll take Bama. Yeah, I'll see you again. No, not at home. Ted Turner: Yeah, Bama ain't losing three, bro. If if Bama loses three, man, does Bear Bryant come back for like Halloween? Like, does he just show up for Halloween, dude? And he's like, Y'all don't get your crap together, trick or treating's done in Alabama. So what are you gonna say? Richman: Bear Bront comes back as Jason. Ted Turner: There it is. That's what happens if they lose this game, bro. And no, no trick-or-treating in Tuscaloosa. Yeah, give me a Bama, man. I I don't think they cover, though. I think this game gets a little wonky and they don't cover. 330 start. wild, wild, wild, man. 730. Woo, ooh. Here's another one. Ole Richman: Ooh. Ted Turner: Miss heads to Austin. Texas cannot lose this game, man. Like, this is it. there's already a question mark behind their name. And now you got Ole Miss, seven thirty prime time, heading down to Austin. Texas is on against the wall. If they lose, they got three losses. Pretty much puts them Richman: Thanks. Ted Turner: more than likely puts them out of playoff contention unless the SC continue just to kick each other in the face and there had to be a couple that come out of the SEC. Maybe maybe they could win out after that. Maybe. I don't know. But you gotta feel like if they lose this one, a lot of a lot of things are gonna happen. this is a big one, man. Who you got, Fish? Adam Fisher: So I see a graphic in my head, I see a picture in my head of Sarkeesian sitting in a chair, and then there's a fuse going down out of the back of the chair, around the corner, and there's a little kid there playing with matches. And as soon as they drop that L this week, man, when Ole Miss goes in there and sh and beats him up, he's gonna drop that match and it's gonna like that fuse, and Sarkeesian seed is just gonna blow up underneath him. give me old miss by twenty. Ted Turner: By twenty. But miss by fifty. Richman: All Ted Turner: By fifty. Who you who you got, Rich Man? Adam Fisher: Bafetti, va feri. Richman: I'm gonna take Texas. Arch Manning throws for $3.50. Comes back strong. Ted Turner: You kind want Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: to see tech do you wanna see I think you kinda wanna see, okay, Musch Champ, you wanna see how he schemes against Ole Miss, with Ole Miss being around the corner for, you know, after Florida for Georgia. You wonder though, like, has the defense really done any favors? Colin Simmons is out possi possibly for the year. Arch Manning is like they're talking about second quarterback, second team quarterback getting more reps this Adam Fisher: We're talking about benching him. Ted Turner: week. Man. This is Trin I this is Trinidad. Richman: Hey, Arch may be one of these guys that needs a little pressure and he's fixing to step up, man. Give him a shot. Ted Turner: I I must Adam Fisher: Pressure makes diamond. Ted Turner: I must say Texas, man. I must say Texas, because Texas is back against the wall. the whole state is at risk of not being talked about for damn near ten months. nobody in Texas will be talking about football on a collegiate level. Because Texas AM, I mean, we just talked about them. nobody. I mean, so you gotta Texas is at you got Mush Champ. Muschamp could be one in who would have it could Will Muschamp have ever thought he would have moved to Texas, taking maybe his dream defensive coordinator position? probably getting probably getting a good payday. Sarkeesian, fifty million dollar roster. They bought a house and the wife's like, We're gonna decorate this amazing and we're gonna be here forever. And it's like, by the way, Sarkeesian's fired, you're out too. And Mushchamp's back at Georgia next year. watching film force. I Adam Fisher: Ha ha. Ted Turner: don't know, man. I'm bantering. I give me Texas. I don't think that they can't afford to lose this game, man. They can't afford to lose this game. So I I think Texas Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: wins. It's gonna be close. It's gonna come down to can Texas beat Ole Miss vertically? Those receivers are they've got really good receivers, man. Can they beat Ole Miss vertically and can they contain Trinidad and make him be a pocket passer? Period. Give me Texas, make it be a it's a close win, man. Close win. Boys, bye week, obviously be a weekend where we can sit back, breathe a little bit, watch a little college football, maybe laugh at a couple teams. We don't have to worry about anything this weekend, kind of like people laughed at us last weekend. final thoughts, fish? Adam Fisher: We need a week off. the team needs a week off. Attrition is real. no matter what, no matter if you're the most, well stocked team in the conference or not, it it's gonna get you. it is. And you know, only the strong survive. And and we we learned that. And you know, I I don't care what you say, we were we were beat up and we were tired. And Kirby mentioned it in the postgame presser against Bamo, they've been waiting on us for a week or eleven days, like you said. we they're not gonna get off the plane until five o'clock the next morning, Sunday morning. And they were tired, man. And it showed sloppy, couldn't tackle, that's effort. Defense is effort. it's knowing where to be and knowing where you're supposed to be, and and it's a little bit knowing how to read a defense, but it's also I think. Effort is understated on the defensive side of the ball. And tackling is a hundred percent effort. Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Richmond, final thoughts? Richman: Yeah, man. mean, hey, look, there's a heap of football left to play and there are a lot of teams that are still in the hunt. fortunately for us, it's an opportunity to focus and reclaim that fire, passion and energy and go get them dogs. Ted Turner: I got two parts. One is did you ever think you'd be sitting on a bye week? Maybe feeling a little bit better, right? Because you're like, all right, we we kind of got over the the hump. You know, we're we're we got Auburn in the rear view. We got a week weekend to get better. You're gonna be watching a weekend where two teams that will not be talked about if they lose after this weekend for a long, long time and they're not used to that. That's Alabama and that's Texas. we're we're we could be watching history just by watching that. right, that those are gonna be some big, big games, right? You got Adam Fisher: Yes, sir. Ted Turner: Tennessee who's riding a high who you got you got two teams that are riding high and could have letdowns. you could see Tennessee. Do they have a letdown or do they continue what they're doing? Does Auburn have a letdown? Or does LSU come in and and and rejuvenate? LSU has a really tough schedule. There's so much that after this weekend will be really planted in front of us, but it really won't matter still unless we obviously take care of business. But my final thought is is is this is, you know, when you look back at at Auburn, you look back at Georgia, you look back at this team, you know, there's a lot this said about Kirby Smart Teams after bye weeks. They they come back on fire, they come back fresh, they come back rejuvenated. Two things that I will tell you is is it will be really, really good. I really feel good about getting KJ Bolden back and somebody who I think we've missed the impact of a big receiver. I think we I I don't think I pretty much know Isaiah Canyon will be back against Florida and that will be a boost this receiving quarter. Have a big bodied go getter receiver because I think our receivers right now are playing really, really well. Craig Dandier is just playing at a high level. We were spot on about him, Greg Dangerous. I think Talon Taylor is coming into his own. I think these receivers are start and if we add Canyon, who was supposed to be a guy that was supposed to really anchor this receiving core and our tight ends and Gunner can have a I I think we have some rest. I think we have a really good week of practice next week. I think we're gonna see a really, really hungry, good looking team against Florida in Atlanta, not in Jacksonville, in Atlanta, so as we prepare for next week and people who are buying tickets, I agree with Fish. When you go to the game, can we just understand we have a job? Be loud. Be a force. Don't sit there and eat popcorn and stuff your face and sit there and jawjack about how you wish we were better. put some effort into it. Make us make us at least have a little bit of an advantage in Atlanta, Georgia. I know Jacksonville always gives us a little bit of a a disadvantage, so. All right, my my friends.
