- 0:01Hi, everybody. We're here again for the One Small Change
- 0:05podcast. I am so glad that you decided to spend some time with
- 0:08me, and I'm thrilled that you're going to be embarking on this
- 0:12journey of exploration and transformation. I'm your host. I'm Yvonne
- 0:15McCoy, and I bring almost 30 years of entrepreneurial experience
- 0:19to this adventure. Right. And I have a passion for
- 0:23discovering growth through the power of seemingly small change. And
- 0:26seemingly so I want to say that as you
- 0:30go, it's the small things that sometimes can have the
- 0:34most incredible transformation on you. That that unexpected
- 0:38or insignificant decision is sometimes what
- 0:41sparks the most remarkable growth in both your personal and
- 0:45professional life. And this week we have the
- 0:48amazing Amanda Roy, who is going to share with us
- 0:52how this happened for her. So, Amanda, thank you for taking time out of
- 0:56your very busy schedule to be here with me here today.
- 1:00Oh, thank you. I'm so excited to be here and I'm excited to share
- 1:04what my one small change was that totally impacted
- 1:07my business. Well, you know, my theory is I don't
- 1:11do your biography or introduction because I feel like people can read that in the
- 1:15notes. And if there's something that you really need us to know, you can tell
- 1:18us. So tell us what you're, you know, tell us what you do and tell
- 1:21us how that small change impacted that. All right.
- 1:25Well, what I do is I help business owners, usually service based
- 1:28businesses, overcome their low lead conversion so
- 1:32that they can, they can make more money online, which
- 1:36is, of course, what we all want to do. And so I do that by
- 1:39building high converting websites as well as high converting funnels. And
- 1:43I'm all about watching the data. So that's, I think, something
- 1:47that a lot of people, a lot of businesses don't do is watch the data
- 1:51and then make their adjustments and everything on their websites and funnels to be able
- 1:54to, you know, increase that growth in those conversions. So
- 1:58that's what I do. So as far as. Oh, go ahead. No,
- 2:02I was just going to say that's. First of all, that is a huge
- 2:06nugget that you just dropped. I think sometimes
- 2:10we look at something and we look at the whole thing and go, it's wrong
- 2:14and we want to trash it without taking a look at the numbers.
- 2:17And I remember a very specific time when I was not getting the
- 2:21kind of signups for my workshop. And it was so funny because
- 2:25my marketing person was, you need to change the landing. My
- 2:29other person was like, no, it has to do with
- 2:33why people are not clicking through and do we have a problem there
- 2:36mechanically? Is it working? And you know, one of the, so the,
- 2:40the suggestion, the in the result
- 2:44was kind of a hybrid solution that my sign up thing was not high enough
- 2:47on the page. I didn't need to junk everything. But
- 2:51we were looking at how the, but at looking at the numbers,
- 2:55right? So as entrepreneurs you need to know your numbers,
- 2:59you really do. And it may not be your most favorite thing to do,
- 3:03but it will help you and speed your success along. I'm sorry, I
- 3:06didn't. No, no, you are great because you are
- 3:10right. I mean one small change, right, is what your podcast is, but
- 3:14it could be one small change as well on your website that make all the
- 3:18difference. I mean statistics show that your website doesn't have to be beautiful,
- 3:21it has to be converting. It has to be functional. It
- 3:25has to be easy for people to be able to find what they're looking for
- 3:29and, and be able to, you know, you know,
- 3:33either grab your freebie or whatever it is that you have on there, whatever your
- 3:36goal is on your website. So you're right. Absolutely. Got to watch the data,
- 3:39gotta watch it. So I, I, I took you
- 3:43off your train of thought. I'm sorry, because you were telling us about,
- 3:47you know, the fact that people don't look at their numbers and, and so
- 3:51what was the thing that made you really focus in on that if
- 3:55that's the result of it, your change? Actually no,
- 3:58it was something somebody said. So I had been in the online business for a
- 4:02couple years. I'm one of the many that went online when Covid
- 4:06hit. I was actually managing a couple weight loss centers that shut down. So
- 4:10I ended up going doing some health coaching online and I found myself struggling
- 4:13of course, as most businesses do in the first few years, trying to get
- 4:18and a large amount of clients. I had a few trickle in here and there,
- 4:21but I really struggled with it and I found myself
- 4:25really loving all the tech and the behind the scenes
- 4:29stuff and I found I did a lot more of that instead of
- 4:33doing the thing that I needed to do. And what I mean by that
- 4:36is I hired a coach. Of course I hired many coaches,
- 4:40I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on a coach. But there was one coach
- 4:44that I actually work on her systems right now that impacted my business
- 4:48more than any other. And she, we were on a master class
- 4:52and she said the thing you do in your business today
- 4:55affects your business three months from now. And I
- 4:59remember as a business owner I was always wanting to put off the
- 5:02hard things you Know, the, the getting in front of people, the,
- 5:06the. The making the phone calls. They. My husband's always telling me
- 5:10I need to go out and go business door to door, which I probably should,
- 5:13but it's just not my thing. But I was afraid to do the hard
- 5:17things in my business. I didn't want to be vis. Wanted to create things
- 5:21behind the scenes and geek out at my desk in my jammies
- 5:24or whatever and. And live my life like that. But my
- 5:28business wasn't booming because of it. And so that one statement
- 5:31changed everything. Because I realized if I'm not doing the things
- 5:35I know I need to do, which is getting out in front of people, becoming
- 5:38visible, then three months from now, which at that time I think it was October.
- 5:42So like, by January of the next year, I still would be struggling.
- 5:46I still would be in the exact same spot I am today
- 5:50if I'm not doing the. That I need to do to make sure
- 5:53I'm growing in January of the following year. And so that
- 5:57one statement, it changed my whole life. It changed everything I thought about
- 6:02being an entrepreneur and building a. Building a
- 6:05business. And my business completely transformed just in those
- 6:09three months that I said, okay, I got to do the hard things. And I
- 6:12did. And you know, I've been rocking and rolling for the last couple years because
- 6:16of it. Well, you know, what's interesting is my
- 6:20parallel statement that someone said to me is, you can build your
- 6:24own stage. You don't have to wait for anybody else. Which is why I started
- 6:27doing the workshop once a month. And we both are talking about
- 6:31visibility. You know, you have to get. I mean,
- 6:35you have to get in front of people. I
- 6:39mean, absolutely.
- 6:44And. And it sounds particularly for heartfelt people to
- 6:47say it is a numbers game. There are enough clients
- 6:51out is, you know, if you get in front of enough people.
- 6:54So, so tell us how. How having a work.
- 6:59A website that converts helps you to do that.
- 7:04Well, it's a start. It's definitely a start. It's what I
- 7:08find is, you know, you have to. You still have to
- 7:11be a. Get involved and, and go to networking
- 7:15events and be in the groups that you don't want to be in. And you
- 7:19have to still do those kinds of things. But when you, when you're
- 7:22in a. Which a lot of my business comes from going to networking
- 7:26meetings. It just is whether I'm in the mood to or not, I get business
- 7:30from it. But you having. Being able to send
- 7:34people to your website or to a landing page to get them
- 7:37moving through your Funnel is really key. So for me, I would
- 7:41say that is the most important thing to have is somewhere where people
- 7:45can go. Especially right now, the way things are in,
- 7:49in the world, you know, with AI and everything, people are checking
- 7:53reviews, they want to see who's who,
- 7:57you know, what, what your credibility is. You know, they want to be able
- 8:00to see are, do you have clients? They want to see a portfolio, they want
- 8:04to see your experience, especially where I'm a website designer and a
- 8:08funnel maker. They want to see my funnels, they want to see my websites. Do
- 8:11I really know what I'm doing, what are my reviews? Because, you know, anytime we
- 8:14buy anything, we're going to go be checking something like that. So I think for
- 8:18websites is having the, the showcase where you
- 8:22can send people to that and then from there they know can
- 8:25reach you. So I really believe that it does start. It still starts
- 8:29with, you know, groups and networking and
- 8:33social media and all those kinds of things. But you need to have a platform
- 8:36to send people to. I find that people who have, don't have
- 8:40anything, they struggle more in business. So
- 8:44let me, let me kind of pivot this just a little bit
- 8:48because I think, because you're a strategist and I'm a
- 8:51strategist, so I think one of the things that people
- 8:55don't think about is what is the purpose of my website,
- 8:59what is it that I want it to do, what do I need it to
- 9:03do? And then work towards, you know, what the website's going to
- 9:07look like. And so that in itself
- 9:11takes time. If this is not going to kick in for like three
- 9:14months, I don't want to have to redo this again and take
- 9:18another three months. So I really need to know what I'm solving
- 9:22for. So can you talk about that a little bit and, and the
- 9:25resistance that people have about that, you know, because my
- 9:29gut feeling is that a lot of people who are like me is like, just
- 9:31put up a website. Just put up a website, right?
- 9:35Yeah. Oh yeah. What I run into a lot is people
- 9:39putting up a website that is like a book, that it has
- 9:42like all the information about them, everything
- 9:46they do, and it's hard to read. So
- 9:50it's like every resource, every this, every that, that
- 9:53is something I see a lot because people think it should be more of a
- 9:56billboard, which it is in some ways, but it needs to be a
- 10:00functional converting billboard. It needs to have
- 10:04just specific pieces. So that's something I run into a lot. But
- 10:07the way when I start working with a Client on a website, I usually like
- 10:10to work backwards. I like to start with their offer.
- 10:14What. What are you trying to sell? Like, what is the goal? And, you know,
- 10:18we work through target audience and stuff like that. Most of the time, the clients
- 10:21already know who they' wanting to have, already have their program or,
- 10:25you know, they already know that kind of stuff. So we work backwards and we
- 10:28start looking at lead magnets or freebies or things like that too, because we need
- 10:32to make sure that piece is on their website, which is going to lead them
- 10:36to their product or offer. And this is where that
- 10:40customer journey is so important, making sure people
- 10:43understand that process. But once we have those pieces figured out
- 10:47for clients, then we can stop and go, okay, now how are we going to
- 10:51make a website that is going to be going to appeal to
- 10:54that person, to your ideal client? What are you going to have on there that's
- 10:58going to make them go, ooh? In the first, you know, 30 seconds, I need
- 11:01to scroll down or I need to grab that freebie. And that will lead them
- 11:05to that offer. So that's usually what I do. As far
- 11:09as strategy is, I always start working backwards.
- 11:13Well, I think, you know, one of the things that we have very much in
- 11:16common is the idea that you
- 11:19streamline, right? I think, you know, people
- 11:23think I'm gonna tell them all the things that I can do, and it's gonna,
- 11:26you know, it's gonna be a big net and. And that kind of stuff. And
- 11:29basically that just confuses people. It's like, if you do
- 11:32everything, then your message tells me you do nothing,
- 11:36right? Do you know, it's like, you listen, you listen and they
- 11:40go, I do this, I do this, I do this, I do that, you know,
- 11:42and it's like, to me, it's like, this is snake oil. You can't possibly do
- 11:46all these things. The other thing is that people don't have the
- 11:50confidence, you know, because my thing is attract your right client
- 11:54using the unique power that you already have. And so your website,
- 11:57the thing you said was people go ooh or
- 12:01wow, you know, and your right clients will have that
- 12:04reaction if you streamline and focus. Which
- 12:08doesn't mean you can't offer these other things. I mean,
- 12:11you know, but you want to put your priority, I would think, on your
- 12:15website so that they can see it once they get to know you better. You
- 12:18can tell them all the other things that you can do, you know, or not
- 12:21do, but they don't know what the, what the main
- 12:25door is. Somebody, somebody said to me, paint your door
- 12:29red. So when they're looking at doors, they know you're the right door to go
- 12:32in, right? Yeah. And if you've got. If your
- 12:36door has got all these other doors or panels to
- 12:39it, they're not going to be able to find you. And I think that that's
- 12:42a really good message to give people.
- 12:46Yeah. Oh, for sure. Well, was it. Who's it.
- 12:50What's her name? I want to say Brett. If
- 12:54I say clarity is kind, you're gonna know probably who I'm talking about, Right.
- 12:59It's not Brendan Burchard, but it's. What's that girl's name?
- 13:04She's a really popular personal development person.
- 13:07You. You'd recognize her if I said her name. I just can't think of her
- 13:10off the top of my head. But she says clarity is kind all the time.
- 13:14And so when it comes, think of it like that, too. If you. You want
- 13:17people to go to your website and be completely clear as to what you do,
- 13:20like having that red door, this is what I do. This is
- 13:24how you work with me. This is your next step. And so looking at
- 13:28your website from that perspective is always knowing, like, what is
- 13:31your. What is the purpose of your website, really? What do
- 13:35you want it to do? And absolutely, all your extra pages,
- 13:39your. You can have resource pages and work with me pages and all that, that
- 13:42has more detail. But your homepage, your hero at the very top of your
- 13:45website needs to be very clear, like website designer.
- 13:49Like, I'm. I'm a strategist for this, you know, those kinds of
- 13:53things. And a lot of times I see business owners get
- 13:57more creative. You know, they want to be creative and. And unique,
- 14:01which is great in some things, but not for your website. You need to
- 14:05be very, very clear. And that. And that's also for your
- 14:08message. I mean, and believe me, I learned this the hard
- 14:12way. I mean, originally, I called my workshop the
- 14:15VIP Profit Roadmap. I love
- 14:19that title. I mean, I was, like, just so into it. And I worked with
- 14:23the coach, and he said, nobody knows what that means.
- 14:28You know, if you're selling a horse, just say horse
- 14:31for sale, right? Oh, I know.
- 14:35We overthink too much, don't we? And, you know, I've
- 14:39gone through several iterations. I think I finally come up with the one that I
- 14:42actually like. But. But the thing is, we. We so
- 14:46hard for people to. You know, I think
- 14:50probably what you want them to do is
- 14:53to recognize themselves in your message. Oh,
- 14:57this is me, you know, you say something and you go,
- 15:01I, I, I just did a post that, it said if you've, if you've talked
- 15:04to anybody who's lost weight and you say, I always take off my shoes
- 15:08and my jewelry before I weigh, they know exactly what you're talking
- 15:12about. About that. Yes. Jimmy, you know, if you're a
- 15:15skinny person, you have no concept of what that means. Right.
- 15:20So your website, your website should be like that. It should
- 15:23be that they feel like they, that you know
- 15:27them and you're speaking to them and that
- 15:31you're on brand. And I have to also say the thing that I want to
- 15:34make sure that stands out is start with your offer
- 15:39first and work backwards. That was
- 15:43another thing that just took me a really long time. Even though I heard
- 15:46it. Do you know? Yeah, it was like
- 15:50I did this great talk in my mind and stuff like that. I went to
- 15:53a workshop and she said that I was like, oh, this is why
- 15:57this talk is not converting. This offer. Makes no sense
- 16:01with this talk. Yes, sure,
- 16:05I liked it. People ask me all the time, what lead magnet should I get?
- 16:08And I, I like to give, tell the story about when I, when
- 16:11I was a, a, when I was a weight loss coach, I, my program,
- 16:15because I didn't like having, watching so many people go on diets and the
- 16:19struggle that comes with being on a diet. Right. And so I
- 16:23actually created a program that was helping people lose weight and get
- 16:26healthy without dieting. So I was calling it Defiance Dieting
- 16:30back then. Way back then. But I, my story was
- 16:34always that if, creating a lead magnet, like if I create a lead
- 16:38magnet on how to lose weight on a keto program,
- 16:41you know, where there's restrictions and there's, you know, all these,
- 16:45these items you can and can't have, and you feel like, oh, I can't do
- 16:49that. And you got to count your calories and count your, you know, your carbs
- 16:52and your protein all the time. If I, if that was my lead magnet to
- 16:56lead them to a program that was about not
- 16:59dieting, it was disconnected. I would have never got the
- 17:03right client. I would have built my email list. Sure. Because keto was the
- 17:06craze back then. But I, to make sure that I was giving like healthier
- 17:10recipes or something, that would make people want more and that would
- 17:14make sense with the offer. And you're absolutely right. People tend to
- 17:18get really confused in that. It's like, I'm just going to create something cool or
- 17:21I'm going to put something cool on my website. But it doesn't actually lead them
- 17:24to the offer, which is why people struggle converting
- 17:28from their website or landing page or whatever to being a client, because
- 17:32it's not the, the path doesn't make sense sense. You're not targeting the right
- 17:36person. And, and the thing that, that I have found
- 17:40is because we like to be
- 17:44cutesy, you know, and original and creative and all those things
- 17:49we tend to. I mean, I think the thing that's most
- 17:52effective is saying the same thing, the same message over and over
- 17:56and over again. And you want, you know, there's a part of you that goes,
- 17:59well, I said this yesterday, you know, but I think, you
- 18:03know, that is the thing. And so your website has got to be part
- 18:06of that message, that it isn't totally different than something else. I
- 18:10mean, I, I spoke with someone who was, who was a healer once
- 18:14and she said to me, you are just too linear for me.
- 18:21And I said, but you know what?
- 18:25I had never heard it expressed like that, but I am, I believe in a
- 18:29process and a. Do you know that you can follow that
- 18:32it's tailored to you, you know, because I believe if you can't, if you
- 18:36can't remember, you can't do it. But here's what I said to
- 18:40her. If you change your message, if
- 18:43you, you know, whatever you're doing, it's like having a mobile store
- 18:48that you move every single morning and sell something different.
- 18:53Unless your clients are totally psychic and in sync with you, they will never
- 18:56find you. So save your creativity for
- 19:00when you're actually working with the person. Your
- 19:04business is your foundation. It kind of anchors you so that
- 19:07you can do that safely and know that you're delivering the
- 19:11kinds of things that you want to deliver. I mean, you
- 19:15know, and so there, there are certain, you know, certain things that make sense.
- 19:19There are the certain, you know, I say to people, we all have a skeleton
- 19:22and yet we all look different. Right?
- 19:26So true. And so that's, so that's kind of what the process
- 19:30and the framework and the re. Engineering of your, Your website
- 19:33is like. It's giving you the skeleton so that you can
- 19:37end up with the. Or close to the body you want,
- 19:41I guess. Right? Yeah. And watch your numbers. You gotta watch
- 19:45your numbers with it. You'll know you need to change
- 19:48a little bit. And not only that, I mean, if we're gonna get into the
- 19:52healthcare numbers thing, you have to know what the
- 19:55numbers mean. I always say to people that,
- 20:00I don't know if we talked about this, but I don't Know, if I told
- 20:02you at one point I weighed 440 pounds and I lost almost 200.
- 20:07And you know, the thing is, the number
- 20:11that you get on your scale does not necessarily reflect the
- 20:15progress that you've made. And so you have to look at it, I think,
- 20:19as a trend because I can get on one day and
- 20:22next day be five pounds lighter. I can get on and be five pounds heavier,
- 20:26but that doesn't mean that I've really gained five pounds.
- 20:30And so in your business, when you look at the numbers, you need to know
- 20:34that too. So one of the things I say to people is don't
- 20:37change your systems. Look at the numbers you have so that
- 20:41they, so that they're relative. Until you've identified
- 20:45really what the problem is, then, you know, if you need to change your
- 20:48systems, you know, to do or change something else, I mean,
- 20:53you know, I, I jokingly say
- 20:57that I can tell you that I have a huge open
- 21:00rate, but, you know, if the people that are opening are
- 21:04not the right people do, you
- 21:08know, and so it's not just the opening rate, it's also. They
- 21:11opened it. But how many actually clicked through to the link? I mean, you know,
- 21:15there's, you know, you don't take one number in, in isolation,
- 21:19I guess, is what I'm saying. No, you're absolutely right. You got to take
- 21:22that like the open rate, like you said, and then look at the click rate.
- 21:25And then if that click rate's not good now you can look at, okay, the
- 21:28offer you're now your landing page or whatever they clicked on to
- 21:31purchase or to grab is clearly there's something missing
- 21:35on that, that's not creating those conversions. So, yeah, it's, it's a
- 21:39path to watching those numbers. It, you know, and I think sometimes
- 21:43it always amazed me when I would, I would say to people, you need to
- 21:46do, you know, I delegate, you need to do this. And I would say to
- 21:50them, so how many, you know, you're supposed to call
- 21:53a hundred people. How many people did you get? How many
- 21:57people did you not get? And it doesn't add up to a hundred.
- 22:03But that's the way my brain works, like the, between the two buckets. It should
- 22:07add up to 100, right? It shouldn't. You shouldn't have like 25 people
- 22:10missing in the ether, you know, and that's kind of when, the way you have
- 22:14to diagnose your, your numbers when you're looking at your website and stuff. Okay,
- 22:18let's talk about your free gift and the kinds of steps that people
- 22:21can have, can take so that they can improve their business,
- 22:26look at their website, get better conversion,
- 22:30or know that they need help.
- 22:35Where do you want me to start? Wherever you want. Wherever
- 22:39I want. Well, my free gift is actually quite fun
- 22:43and it's very new. I haven't offered it to
- 22:47anybody, so I'm offering it to your, your
- 22:50guest. But what it's a GPT.
- 22:54I'm so excited about this. It is a funnel
- 22:57fixer or funnel audit GPT. So it's going to help
- 23:01you to be able like. So if you're using ChatGPT is super easy. You just
- 23:05click, click the button and you can start working at and asking questions.
- 23:08But it will help you to be able to analyze your whole entire customer
- 23:12journey and where there might be gaps and then offer solutions for
- 23:16it, which again, it's so important. And I think this is something
- 23:19that's missing A lot of people, they don't realize all the different steps
- 23:23and all the different touch points that you have to have these days in
- 23:27order to convert from a lead magnet or something like that into
- 23:31a, into a customer, like a loyal fan.
- 23:35And so I know, I heard, gosh, I think when I started in online
- 23:38businesses, I guess what, four years ago, four or five years ago now, they were
- 23:42talking about, it was usually about seven touch points. So it's
- 23:46like they, somebody sees you seven times or they see, see you on
- 23:50social or they watch a video of you or they see you at a networking
- 23:52group and then now all of a sudden people are going to buy from you.
- 23:56Well, then I remember last year, I think that went up to, I think
- 23:59last year or maybe the day, the year before, I heard it go up to
- 24:0221 touch points. Oh my God. I was, I had heard 12
- 24:05and. Thought that was, yeah, 21 is what I heard. But then
- 24:09last year somebody had said 52. And
- 24:13so if you think about it. Oh, go ahead. No, I was just going to
- 24:17say one of the things, first of all, we, you know, things are
- 24:20situational right now. We are in a very unsettled situation.
- 24:24And so naturally people are going to be more caut about what
- 24:28they do. So I'm not surprised that that has gone up at all. And
- 24:31what I'm finding is that people are coming to my workshop multiple
- 24:35times before they, you know, before they actually,
- 24:39you know, book a call with me or, you know, want to talk and see
- 24:42what we can do. So, yes, I mean, I can see that
- 24:45as, as being true. And you know, the thing that I talk about all the
- 24:49time is that, you know, your client has
- 24:53to trust you. And I'm going to say this about you. And you know, I
- 24:56have my Be Found foundation at Framework. And the last one is,
- 25:00is the D on the found is delight, deliver and
- 25:03delight. And this gift is a delight. I mean, I'm
- 25:07so excited if my audience does not pick this up.
- 25:11There's something really, there's a real disconnect because that's what I talk about
- 25:15all the time, is what is your client's
- 25:18journey? And are you helping them, you know, to
- 25:22educate them so they recognize that there's a problem? Are you helping them
- 25:25make that transition so that they can acknowledge that they have the problem
- 25:29and that you're front of mind when they start to investigate a solution
- 25:33and then you can fill their needs. And so that's
- 25:37the steps that I take. And so now I know that there are 52 touch
- 25:40points. And so the question is, where do they fit in those four,
- 25:44in those four things? But exactly, exactly.
- 25:48And you know, it's. If you don't know, like if any of your listeners don't
- 25:51understand what a touch point is, a touch point is, it could be an email
- 25:54or it could be a social media post, or it could be again, maybe
- 25:58connecting here in somebody's elevator pitch in a networking group.
- 26:02It's literally 52 times they have to see you or
- 26:06talk to you. Could be a one on one call, a
- 26:10workshop or something like that. And that is a lot. And so you really want
- 26:14to recognize, like, how long does it really take? And do you have
- 26:17enough touch points out there? Are you
- 26:21emailing people? Are you putting out posts? Are you getting involved in different
- 26:24networking groups or posting on, you know, in Facebook groups or what,
- 26:28whatever it is that works for you, for your business. But are you doing those
- 26:31things? And this is where it goes right back to that visibility
- 26:35part. If you're not being visible, if you're not putting yourself out there, those
- 26:3952 touch points are going to take you a really long time,
- 26:43really long time. So if you're struggling with not converting clients,
- 26:47if you're, if you're struggling getting clients, this could be it. It could be that
- 26:51you're just not doing enough. You don't know where those gaps are.
- 26:55So, and it can be, I'm gonna. I'm gonna do the numbers
- 26:58for you. So if you're only putting something out Once a week,
- 27:0252 will take you a whole year. Yeah.
- 27:06You know, and if you do it twice a week, you're now looking at
- 27:0926. 26, right, right. If you do it,
- 27:13you know, do the math is what we're talking about. Okay.
- 27:18Oh, this is fantastic. Talk about, too.
- 27:23We are having too good a time. Yeah, this has
- 27:27really been fantastic. I. I really appreciate this.
- 27:31So here. Here comes the question. The question
- 27:35is, when was the last time you did something for the first time?
- 27:39Oh, geez. This is a hard
- 27:43question for me because I don't. I feel like I do a lot of repeat
- 27:46things, but I don't really think that I do a whole lot of new things.
- 27:49But I. Maybe you do a repeat thing in a new way.
- 27:52Because I believe in repurposing. Well, okay. And
- 27:56if we're going to talk about repurposing, I could say this year,
- 28:00I haven't done this for a really, really long time. But I started gardening this
- 28:04year, and I haven't. I mean, I've done the whole tomato plant
- 28:07that failed and that sort of thing. And I live in. I have a rental
- 28:11right now, so of course I can't plant a garden. So I have a container
- 28:14garden outside my door right now. And
- 28:18I will tell you, I'm one of those people that I started out as
- 28:22soon as the weather turned nice. It was sunny outside. I was at
- 28:26the gardening store, and I bought all these vegetables and all these herbs and,
- 28:29of course, tomato plants, because, I mean, who doesn't love tomato plants?
- 28:33And they died, like, the very next week. All of them. I bought
- 28:37three of them. They all died. And it was really, really sa. So I had
- 28:40to wait a few more weeks for the weather. And then everybody's around in my
- 28:44area, which is a huge tomato plant grower. They're like, you have to wait until
- 28:48after Mother's Day and then you can plant. So I went and got new
- 28:52plants. So that's what I'm doing. I would say that's new is
- 28:56having my own garden. It's been. I probably was in my 20s. I'm turning
- 28:5950 this year, so it's been a long time since I've had my own garden.
- 29:03So you. So you. You're doing container gardening? Container
- 29:07gardening. I did that. I did that years ago on. On. On the
- 29:11roof of our second floor. We. We. One year, we did
- 29:14contain. You know, we did tomatoes in milk crates. You know, we
- 29:18put plastic bags. Milk crates. And we had this
- 29:21huge, huge harvest. And one
- 29:25day the birds migrated. Oh, my God. It was like the movie the
- 29:29Birds. They just. I mean, we had all these.
- 29:34So we ended up making tomato sauce that was
- 29:38left. But anyway, okay, we Gotta call it quits. I'm
- 29:42sorry to say that, because I am having a great time. But the one
- 29:45thing I have to say before I forget is as a first
- 29:49step, if you've enjoyed this, make sure that you subscribe and share this
- 29:53and engage with the podcast on social media. And
- 29:56you know, the reason I did this is a way to bring
- 30:00people into your life that have a lot different expertise
- 30:04that I have so that I can increase your connection to what's going
- 30:08on. It's my way of giving back to my community
- 30:12and fueling your quest for growth and impact. So I hope you will
- 30:15continue to join me with the one small change as we embark on
- 30:19this. This. You know how small shifts can yield
- 30:23monumental transformation. And if you haven't listened to the first episode,
- 30:26you should. And then the last thing I want to know is what are
- 30:30your last words? What. What do you want us to take away?
- 30:35I. I would probably say the same thing that I've been saying,
- 30:38like, understanding what you do in your business today will affect your business three months
- 30:42from now, six months from now. So if you
- 30:46have a vision of where you want your business to grow, you have to
- 30:50make those. You have to do the hard things. Now, I do have a
- 30:54workshop, a monthly workshop that we go in and we deep dive into
- 30:57your customer journey. So if after listening you're like, I don't know where to
- 31:01start, I don't know what to do, I would definitely invite you to come to
- 31:04that workshop and we can and map it out. It is a,
- 31:08a one on one. You're going to walk away feeling like, okay, I've got
- 31:11clarity now. I, I know how to grow my business. So I would say
- 31:15that would be the biggest thing. Fantastic.
- 31:19Okay, guys, we're winding this up and I want
- 31:23you to remember that change is simple, but it's not always easy.
- 31:26And it requires a certain amount of courage, resilience, and a willingness
- 31:30to step out of your comfort zone because you are going to make mistakes when
- 31:34you're doing something new. And that's okay if you learn. So if you
- 31:37will join me with the one small change every week as we embark on
- 31:41this journey of a bold vision and innovative possibilities.
- 31:45Until the next time, stay curious. Thank you,
- 31:49Amanda, for sharing with me.
