- 0:31And just to make it easy for you, I left a link in the show
- 0:34notes. And now let's dive into today's
- 0:38quote from Karen Lamb, who once said a year from now, you may
- 0:45wish you had started today. Think about that.
- 0:51One year from today, you'll be somewhere.
- 0:54Time will pass whether or not you start.
- 0:58The question is, will you be glad you started, or will you
- 1:01regret that you didn't? Because here's what happens when
- 1:05you wait. A year passes and you're still
- 1:09at the starting line, still thinking about starting, still
- 1:13wishing you'd begun. But if you start today, in one
- 1:18year you'll have 365 days of progress.
- 1:23You might not be finished, and it might not be perfect, but
- 1:28you'll be. Somewhere.
- 1:30Lamb is highlighting the pain of regret, not the regret of trying
- 1:34and failing, the regret of never trying at all.
- 1:39A year from now, you won't regret the imperfect start you
- 1:43made today, You'll regret the start you postponed.
- 1:48Most people overestimate what they can do in a day and
- 1:51underestimate what they can do in a year.
- 1:55They want immediate results, so they never start.
- 1:58But small progress over a year compounds into something
- 2:02significant. The book gets written, the
- 2:06skills get developed, the body transforms, or the business
- 2:12grows. But only if you start today.
- 2:16Not tomorrow, not next week, not when conditions are perfect
- 2:23today. So here's the question.
- 2:26What have you been putting off? And how will you feel a year
- 2:30from now if you haven't started? Because time will pass either
- 2:35way. You can't stop that.
- 2:39But you can decide whether you'll spend it making progress
- 2:43or making excuses. A year from now, you'll wish
- 2:47you'd started today. So start, that's going to do it
- 2:52for today. I'm Andrew McGivern, signing off
- 2:55for now, but I'll be back tomorrow.
- 2:59Same pod time, same pod station with another daily quote.
