- 0:29What's going on, everybody?
- 0:30Welcome to Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.
- 0:34I crossed the top.
- 0:37What a weekend.
- 0:39We're here.
- 0:40We've got a lot to talk about.
- 0:42So excited to be with you tonight.
- 0:44Got Jamie Carolyn here.
- 0:46Lots of buzz around the
- 0:48space with some
- 0:49announcements made this weekend.
- 0:50We had legends.
- 0:51We had I have three.
- 0:54And a big announcement from
- 0:56the competitor to the
- 0:58CrossFit Games season, the WFP.
- 1:01And we'll kind of talk about
- 1:02that and what we think it sounds like.
- 1:04And is it viable?
- 1:05Is it something that we like?
- 1:07Does it get us excited?
- 1:09And then we'll go on from there.
- 1:11But first, how was your guys' weekend?
- 1:13It was okay.
- 1:19Still sore on the Lions loss.
- 1:20yes I've just been I trying
- 1:24to get the gym like I
- 1:27bought rigging I'm waiting
- 1:28on for that to come in
- 1:29we're trying to like move
- 1:31some stuff and so we've
- 1:32just we've been at the gym
- 1:33for like eight hours
- 1:35straight both days it's
- 1:36just annoying so are you
- 1:38upgrading stuff or just
- 1:39adding um got a new rig so
- 1:42while I'm waiting on that
- 1:43to ship but um yeah putting
- 1:46getting a different rig and
- 1:47I already got turf
- 1:49so I need to pull out the
- 1:50other turf and change where
- 1:53the turf is going sounds
- 1:56cool yeah keeping
- 1:58everything in the same
- 1:59spots or nope nope wow
- 2:02that's really exciting
- 2:03Yeah.
- 2:04So the coolers, that's what we did today.
- 2:06The coolers that were up
- 2:07front when you walked in,
- 2:08those are back by the bathrooms now.
- 2:11Okay.
- 2:12Cause that side,
- 2:12that whole wall is going to be turf,
- 2:14like from the wall to the window.
- 2:16So that neat, that space.
- 2:18Yeah.
- 2:19So yeah, it's exciting.
- 2:25Ninety sip hop coming in hard.
- 2:26Yeah.
- 2:28I just think of the proposal
- 2:30scene and Sandra Bullock in the forest.
- 2:33Same.
- 2:34Yeah.
- 2:37Yeah.
- 2:38Well, that's exciting news.
- 2:42Yeah.
- 2:44So, Carolyn,
- 2:47do you have anything going on this week?
- 2:49uh I went back home after
- 2:51school on friday I visited
- 2:53my family back in sarnia so
- 2:56got back this evening did a
- 2:59little bit of school work
- 3:00and yeah that's about it
- 3:03yeah this is kind of the
- 3:04calm before the storm for
- 3:05me my my family comes in
- 3:07next weekend that's we're
- 3:08celebrating the holidays
- 3:10the weekend before
- 3:10christmas and then like
- 3:12julie and I'll actually be
- 3:13alone just the two of us on christmas day
- 3:17Which is going to be weird for us.
- 3:20Sorry, I want like a song right now.
- 3:24So that's weird.
- 3:25So we watched a lot of like
- 3:28Christmas movies this weekend.
- 3:30And...
- 3:32But I watched,
- 3:33everybody had been wanting
- 3:33me to watch into, or sorry,
- 3:36across the Spider-Verse.
- 3:37So I watched into the Spider-Verse.
- 3:40It's an animated Spider-Man that is,
- 3:43the first one was phenomenal.
- 3:45And everybody was telling me,
- 3:45you gotta watch the second one.
- 3:47It's better than the first one.
- 3:49So I had a really slow day
- 3:51at work on Friday.
- 3:52So I just had it running
- 3:53while I was working.
- 3:55And it sucked me in really quick.
- 3:59And I was like, I was all there.
- 4:02But there is a third one.
- 4:04So it ends at this climactic
- 4:07moment where the hero is in
- 4:10trouble and they're not saved.
- 4:14And then it just ends.
- 4:15It says to be continued.
- 4:16And I was like, what the hell?
- 4:20How do you do this to me?
- 4:23I'm right there.
- 4:24And then it just stops.
- 4:26And I was like, no, no.
- 4:29And then I texted everybody
- 4:30that told me to watch it and said,
- 4:32you could have warned me.
- 4:34Another one coming.
- 4:35Yeah.
- 4:36Not to like, so yeah.
- 4:43Corey says across the spider
- 4:44verse is amazing.
- 4:47It was really amazing until the end.
- 4:50Craig says the family man is
- 4:52one of the best Christmas movies ever.
- 4:54I agree.
- 4:55I love that movie.
- 4:55It's one of my favorites.
- 4:56I don't know if I've seen that one.
- 4:58Oh my gosh, you're missing out.
- 4:59It made me fall in love with
- 5:00Taylor Leone when I was a younger man.
- 5:05I haven't watched any Christmas movies yet,
- 5:07but Lex says that when I
- 5:09get to California this weekend,
- 5:12this upcoming weekend,
- 5:12that we're going to get me
- 5:15to watch a few movies.
- 5:17So Julie and I have done all
- 5:19the new Netflix movies.
- 5:21And I think tomorrow,
- 5:22because I'm going to start
- 5:23doing like a daily show at
- 5:25noon where any of you can
- 5:27jump on if you want and just,
- 5:29we're just going to chat.
- 5:30It may not be CrossFit related.
- 5:32It's just a hangout at lunchtime.
- 5:35And so I'm going to rate the
- 5:39Netflix Christmas movies tomorrow.
- 5:41Okay.
- 5:43of what I thought was good
- 5:44what I thought was bad um
- 5:45and then we watched red one
- 5:47that's what I was saying
- 5:48last night that was it last
- 5:50night I think it was you
- 5:51and I were I think it was
- 5:52two nights ago because we
- 5:53were texting about it last
- 5:54night yeah yeah red one
- 5:55became available for free
- 5:57on prime and it is the rock
- 5:59version of a christmas
- 6:00movie with chris evans
- 6:01who's captain america um man
- 6:08It could have been so cool.
- 6:09Could have been so cool,
- 6:10but just... That seems to
- 6:12be the consensus.
- 6:12Yeah.
- 6:15It's like it dipped its toe
- 6:17into the water of being an
- 6:18eighties action movie.
- 6:19And if it would have just
- 6:20kept going that way,
- 6:21it would have been awesome.
- 6:22And it tried to have more of
- 6:26a dramatic story behind it, I think.
- 6:28And it made it fall a little bit short.
- 6:30But like when the snowmen...
- 6:34like army came after them
- 6:35and they were fighting them.
- 6:36It was one of the coolest
- 6:37scenes I've ever seen.
- 6:42But yeah, it was fun.
- 6:44It was a fun movie.
- 6:45Like I wouldn't say don't watch it,
- 6:46but it was one that I
- 6:48probably won't watch year after year.
- 6:49Okay.
- 6:49Fair enough.
- 6:52know you have those that
- 6:54like tier of christmas
- 6:55movies there's the ones
- 6:56like christmas vacation and
- 6:57elf and all those ones that
- 6:59you watch every year and
- 7:01then you have like ones
- 7:02that are like a one-timer
- 7:03and this this was a
- 7:04one-timer okay so but
- 7:09tomorrow I'll go through
- 7:09all the netflix ones and
- 7:11tell you what I liked and
- 7:12what I didn't like all
- 7:13right I'm kind of sappy so
- 7:15you know just know that going in so
- 7:20scott's got like hallmark
- 7:22channel movies number one
- 7:26mo I do I am so so this is
- 7:30this is getting really deep
- 7:31but my dad loved hallmark
- 7:32movies like when he retired
- 7:34and before he passed away
- 7:36like he just loved hallmark
- 7:37movies christmas or
- 7:39otherwise um and so when I
- 7:41would go to visit him we
- 7:42would watch hallmark movies and just chat
- 7:45And so they they've they've
- 7:47had now they have this like
- 7:48nostalgic thing for me that
- 7:50it just reminds me of my
- 7:51time with my dad.
- 7:53I don't watch a ton of the Hallmark ones,
- 7:56but my mom and I will watch
- 7:57them occasionally when I go visit her.
- 7:59And and I've watched a few
- 8:02of them this year,
- 8:02but not most of them have
- 8:04been like just the Netflix original ones.
- 8:06Yeah.
- 8:07Which I find to be a little
- 8:08higher production.
- 8:08Yeah, I agree.
- 8:10Than the Hallmark ones.
- 8:14so there you go there's my
- 8:15sappy story so I think
- 8:19that's it we're getting
- 8:21into like some new new
- 8:23sports seasons I you know
- 8:25all day today they've been
- 8:26advertising usc versus
- 8:28connecticut next week's
- 8:29prime time saturday night
- 8:32page buckets versus uh juju
- 8:35Did you see the three on three undisputed?
- 8:37I think it's called undisputed league.
- 8:39Like the girl's salary is
- 8:40going to be like two
- 8:41hundred and sixty thousand
- 8:43dollars a year or something like that,
- 8:45which is like huge,
- 8:47huge difference from their WNBA salaries.
- 8:51Yeah.
- 8:52So there's a male version of that, too.
- 8:54And I think it's I think
- 8:55it's owned by Ice Cube.
- 9:00Yeah,
- 9:00because that version was trying to
- 9:01get Caitlin Clark last year to play,
- 9:04but she wouldn't have
- 9:05gained anything from going.
- 9:07No, no.
- 9:09That's a lot of money to me.
- 9:12I don't know about them.
- 9:15But yeah, that's got to be tempting.
- 9:18But the other thing is you
- 9:19don't want to like, well, maybe.
- 9:23Like you played a different
- 9:24sport every season,
- 9:25but to play the same sport
- 9:27season after season,
- 9:28and repeating that muscle
- 9:30activity over and over again,
- 9:32your body has to rest from that, right?
- 9:34Yep.
- 9:36Which is why I think she's
- 9:37not playing at Caitlin
- 9:38Clark because she went from
- 9:39university all the way into
- 9:40her rookie season and
- 9:42probably just needs to have a break.
- 9:46Yeah.
- 9:47It's tough enough with the
- 9:48college season butting
- 9:49right up against the WNBA season.
- 9:52So you go from...
- 9:54the college playoffs right
- 9:55into pro basketball with no break,
- 9:58you know,
- 9:59and it showed like when Caitlin
- 10:01took the all-star break off,
- 10:03she actually got a little
- 10:04bit of rest and she started
- 10:05to play better after.
- 10:07Um, so yeah, but yeah,
- 10:12it's going to be fun.
- 10:13We're going to get into some
- 10:14new stuff because
- 10:15football's coming to an end.
- 10:17All the bowl games are coming.
- 10:19Yeah.
- 10:20And the play at the first
- 10:21year of the twelve team playoff.
- 10:23And then Travis Hunter won Heisman.
- 10:26He did.
- 10:28I think that's awesome.
- 10:29If you can go two ways that
- 10:31long and that much in a game,
- 10:33you deserve some kudos for that.
- 10:35And to play at the level he plays at.
- 10:37Yeah.
- 10:39I mean,
- 10:39I've seen draft experts say he's
- 10:41top five at both positions.
- 10:47Wow.
- 10:48But he'll only play one in the NFL.
- 10:50Yeah.
- 10:51They'll just pick which one
- 10:53they want him at.
- 10:57So, all right, well,
- 10:59let's dive into this CrossFit stuff.
- 11:01And we're going to start with Guadalupe,
- 11:04which has started to
- 11:05announce people attending
- 11:09Guadalupe this year,
- 11:11both individually and on a team.
- 11:16And please note, this is as of today,
- 11:19in my years of experience
- 11:20of watching Waterpalooza,
- 11:21they make these announcements.
- 11:22Something happens between now and then.
- 11:25Some people will have to withdraw.
- 11:27But this is what they have
- 11:28for commitments at this point.
- 11:31So,
- 11:32or what they have announced as
- 11:33commitments.
- 11:35And these are not, let me, there we go.
- 11:39Okay, so, yeah.
- 11:44load this up a little bit
- 11:45there we go so you can see
- 11:47we have pat velner as the
- 11:49first announcement um danny
- 11:51spiegel and james sprague
- 11:55we have ariel lowen all
- 11:56individual uh we have ricky
- 11:58gerard then they started to
- 12:02announce teams uh you have
- 12:04the broadway girls which is
- 12:06brook wells hayley adams
- 12:08and sydney wells the boys
- 12:11chandler smith travis mayor
- 12:13and noah olsen
- 12:16have alexis raptus uh pj pjs
- 12:23uh jeff adler jason hopper
- 12:25and patrick velner uh
- 12:28guillermo laura horvat her
- 12:32first time I think doing
- 12:33wadapalooza hmm uh she did
- 12:36it as a team a couple a
- 12:38couple years ago when I was
- 12:39there but like individual
- 12:41though I don't think I've
- 12:42ever seen her do individual
- 12:45uh nick matthew
- 12:48The Relight Salt Bays,
- 12:51which is Emily Rolfe, Alex Kazan,
- 12:53and Ariel Loewen.
- 12:54Nice.
- 12:56Annika Greer, Travis Mayer.
- 12:59The OGs, Victoria Campos, Caitlin Van Zyl,
- 13:04and Sarah Sigmund's daughter.
- 13:09Brooke Wells going individual as well.
- 13:11Jeff Adler going individual as well.
- 13:15the yeti outcasts danielle
- 13:18brandon emma lawson shelby
- 13:19neal I do have to admit
- 13:21this one caught me off
- 13:22guard a bit same this is
- 13:26this was not the threesome
- 13:27I saw coming together no
- 13:29didn't have that on my
- 13:30bingo card um and that's
- 13:33what they've announced at
- 13:34this point uh in the season
- 13:38but cement even though that
- 13:39one shocked me it's a hell
- 13:41of a team oh yeah yeah
- 13:44That's going to be a good team.
- 13:47They,
- 13:48they all have like different strengths,
- 13:51I think.
- 13:52And I think that that's
- 13:53going to be interesting.
- 13:56So anything from that list
- 13:59stick out to you other than
- 14:02that last team kind of
- 14:03catching you off guard.
- 14:09I think also nice to see
- 14:10Jeff at water blues individually.
- 14:12I don't think I've seen him much and,
- 14:15So it's nice him, Ricky, Pat,
- 14:17James on the men's side.
- 14:20I think I've been announced key.
- 14:22Like there's some solid names.
- 14:24There are some good competition.
- 14:26Yeah.
- 14:26I've again,
- 14:28I've seen Jeff there a ton on a team.
- 14:30Um, never seen him individually, uh,
- 14:33in the years that I was there personally.
- 14:36Um, and since, uh, so that's Laura,
- 14:40I think is huge.
- 14:42Laura competing individually.
- 14:44will bring others to want to
- 14:45compete against her.
- 14:48I think.
- 14:50Yeah.
- 14:50I'm very curious to see the
- 14:51individual field.
- 14:54I thought,
- 14:54I kind of thought there was
- 14:55another didn't Nick Johnson
- 14:59reveal another team on his interview.
- 15:03He did.
- 15:04I didn't get through that one yet.
- 15:06I feel like, I don't know.
- 15:08I can't remember who was
- 15:09like a Ricky team.
- 15:11I don't remember if it was a
- 15:12boys or a girls team.
- 15:15Or if he said both.
- 15:18Colton's going, isn't he?
- 15:22I know he's not on that list, but maybe.
- 15:27Maybe Colton said he wasn't going,
- 15:29that he's done enough
- 15:30traveling and too many
- 15:31camps and he was going to.
- 15:34Yeah, I do.
- 15:36Kenna said it was a random girl team.
- 15:37I think so too.
- 15:38And I just can't think of it.
- 15:40Now that Beck said this, Olivia, Danny,
- 15:43and another.
- 15:44And I forgot the third.
- 15:45They'll win the lifting
- 15:47complex or whatever that would be.
- 15:49And the third is in that same vein.
- 15:51Yeah.
- 15:52Like a Kelsey Keel or something?
- 15:54Someone super strong?
- 15:55I don't know.
- 15:56I'm just guessing.
- 15:58Shoot.
- 15:59I know.
- 16:01I know I heard it like the
- 16:03three like just strong
- 16:05girls I should have written
- 16:06it down when he was on yeah
- 16:09olivia and it was a good
- 16:12interview though worth a
- 16:13watch most of my watching
- 16:15interviews and stuff like
- 16:16that is either while I'm
- 16:17working and it's hard to
- 16:18stop what I'm doing to like
- 16:19write that's what it's kyra
- 16:20yep also very very strong
- 16:24yeah good job craig thank
- 16:27you so much for that yeah
- 16:30I mean, it's Danny Spiegel, right?
- 16:34Yeah.
- 16:34Yeah.
- 16:35So Kyra's proven.
- 16:36Olivia is proven, but Danny's not.
- 16:40But there's adding.
- 16:43Yeah.
- 16:46So yeah,
- 16:48most of my listening to that stuff
- 16:49is either at work or in bed.
- 16:51So it's hard for me to stop
- 16:52and take notes.
- 16:55David Price- Sometimes I do
- 16:56if I've already started our
- 16:57rundown document,
- 16:58I will pull my phone up and
- 17:00add a piece to if I hear it
- 17:03like something we're gonna
- 17:04talk about with bethany
- 17:05flores later in the show
- 17:06like I did that last night.
- 17:08David Price- So that I saw so.
- 17:11But yeah, Waterpalooza.
- 17:13And this is the first year in Miami Beach.
- 17:15So the bigger the names,
- 17:16the better with the new
- 17:17location and the bigger venue.
- 17:20So hopefully that will
- 17:23entice people to come and
- 17:25pay for tickets and sell that place out.
- 17:27Because I know it's got to
- 17:28be scary moving locations
- 17:31because Bayfront was a pretty sweet spot.
- 17:34It just it had outgrown that so much.
- 17:39Yeah.
- 17:39I hope this runs a little
- 17:40smoother and goes well for
- 17:43vendors and hopefully the
- 17:46weather cooperates.
- 17:48Yeah.
- 17:48That's the big one is the weather.
- 17:51They have a couple of stage
- 17:52that are just covered.
- 17:53Like they have to have that consideration.
- 17:59Yeah.
- 18:00Or a vendor vendor area that is covered.
- 18:03Yes.
- 18:04Some place to go to that is covered.
- 18:07Yeah,
- 18:07which would help the vendors because
- 18:09then if there isn't great weather,
- 18:10at least everyone's in Vendor Village.
- 18:14I think it's sometimes...
- 18:17Even we in the media,
- 18:18but especially our competition organizers,
- 18:22forget that the vendors are
- 18:23a very important part.
- 18:24Without them,
- 18:25you don't have the money to
- 18:28make a prize purse or to do
- 18:29a live stream or to do...
- 18:31And you have to make the vendors happy.
- 18:34And it seems like...
- 18:36lot of the competitions not
- 18:40not all but a group of the
- 18:41competitions are just
- 18:42increasing vendor fees to
- 18:44try to get more money
- 18:46instead of working with the
- 18:47vendors to make them happy
- 18:49and make a better vendor
- 18:50village totally agree and
- 18:55we've talked about this
- 18:56with athletes like instead
- 18:57of trying to get more
- 18:58athletes and more
- 18:59spectators to watch those
- 19:00athletes we're just
- 19:02charging the athletes more yep
- 19:04And that doesn't grow the sport.
- 19:06It's just sucking on the
- 19:09same cow teat for milk.
- 19:12Yep.
- 19:12Over and over and over again,
- 19:13just squeezing harder.
- 19:17I don't know where that analogy came from.
- 19:19Cause I am not a farmer, but it's there.
- 19:28Um,
- 19:28But yeah,
- 19:30all the best to them and the move
- 19:33to Miami Beach because I
- 19:34think that's going to be crazy.
- 19:39I guess next up we have the big news.
- 19:43The big news is the World Fitness Project.
- 19:46has announced uh a layout of
- 19:48a season um still need
- 19:52quite a few details but I
- 19:54will pull up their
- 19:55instagram post we'll go
- 19:57through it I want to get
- 19:59your impressions on it if
- 20:00whether you think it's good
- 20:01bad or indifferent um uh and here we go
- 20:12okay so I'm going to try to
- 20:16blow this up a little bit
- 20:17so we can kind of see it
- 20:18hopefully it all stays in
- 20:20screen all right so the
- 20:24wwfp is excited to launch a
- 20:25new competitive fitness
- 20:26league in twenty twenty
- 20:28five with over five hundred
- 20:29athletes at each
- 20:30competition our structure
- 20:31brings athletes of
- 20:32different skill levels
- 20:34together to compete alongside one another
- 20:38So at first glance, when I'm reading this,
- 20:40I'm thinking that their
- 20:42in-person events are going
- 20:43to be more community events
- 20:45than just an elite event.
- 20:49Yeah.
- 20:49Is that what you get from this?
- 20:51I mean,
- 20:51it has to be like when you're
- 20:53talking five hundred athletes like.
- 20:57That's that's basically what it was at.
- 21:02the Masters games with the teams.
- 21:06I mean, that's a ton of divisions,
- 21:08a ton of
- 21:10Yeah.
- 21:10I don't know what they're,
- 21:11what they need to generate revenue.
- 21:13Like they have to invite
- 21:15lots of divisions.
- 21:15They need that money.
- 21:16Like it's,
- 21:17you can't just start the first
- 21:19year and just think that
- 21:20just the pros will make it happen.
- 21:22Like fan base.
- 21:23And cause as soon as those
- 21:25athletes are competing,
- 21:26then they're sitting in the audience.
- 21:28Like it just,
- 21:30it adds more people to the competition.
- 21:34Yeah.
- 21:35I mean, I heard speculation that this was,
- 21:39I feel like it was Tyler
- 21:40who thought they'd be
- 21:40backing off of other comps
- 21:43already in production.
- 21:45But I feel like if you're
- 21:47going to say this,
- 21:49you have a plan for your own competition.
- 21:54Or they're partnering with a competition.
- 21:59So like we haven't seen
- 22:00Granite Games in a couple of years.
- 22:02Yeah.
- 22:03why why couldn't um loud
- 22:06live partner with this
- 22:08group and say hey we're
- 22:09bringing back granite games
- 22:11and we're bringing back
- 22:12madrid a european
- 22:17competition and an american
- 22:18competition and they and
- 22:21both of those events have
- 22:22already been community
- 22:23events yeah I don't know if
- 22:27they had five hundred people there
- 22:29Well,
- 22:30the last Granite Games that was a
- 22:31semifinal,
- 22:32there was definitely more than
- 22:33five hundred people overall.
- 22:35Yeah,
- 22:35they've always had like almost
- 22:37thousands that there's.
- 22:40Granite Game was always one
- 22:41of the more successful competitions.
- 22:47I mean, I remember there being a lot,
- 22:49but I don't know over.
- 22:51I don't know.
- 22:52Compared to Legends and the Masters games.
- 22:58I don't know that I've seen
- 22:59fields that big.
- 23:04I,
- 23:04I know that the numbers they were
- 23:06throwing around were over
- 23:07five hundred for the last semifinal.
- 23:11So, but, but they also,
- 23:14Loud Live also runs Waterpalooza.
- 23:17Like they know how to run community events,
- 23:19right?
- 23:21So they could definitely pull that off.
- 23:22They have the infrastructure
- 23:23already in place to do that.
- 23:26And they have relationships
- 23:27in Minnesota and in Madrid.
- 23:30And that's just a guess on my part.
- 23:31We have no details of where
- 23:33these are going to be or
- 23:34what they're going to look like.
- 23:38So professionals,
- 23:39the pro division is
- 23:40comprised of twenty signed
- 23:41male and female athletes
- 23:43and ten challenger qualifiers.
- 23:45Pro athletes will compete
- 23:46for points throughout the
- 23:47season to lock down a top
- 23:49twenty ranking and earn
- 23:50their pro card for the
- 23:51twenty twenty six season.
- 23:55So one question I thought to
- 23:57you guys the other day is.
- 24:00How do you pick the twenty
- 24:01male and twenty female
- 24:03athletes that get the automatic signing?
- 24:07Exactly.
- 24:10Now, from that point forward,
- 24:11it's not going to make any
- 24:12difference because you're
- 24:13going to have to compete for it.
- 24:14Right.
- 24:15And you're going to have to earn points.
- 24:18And then you're going to
- 24:19have these ten challengers
- 24:20that every live competition
- 24:22can do the qualifier.
- 24:24If they get in as the top ten,
- 24:26they come in and they
- 24:26compete with the other twenty.
- 24:28So there's thirty in the
- 24:29field and then they can
- 24:30earn more points than the
- 24:31twenty and become a pro
- 24:33carded athlete instead of
- 24:36the twenty that were already signed.
- 24:41Yeah, that's a good question.
- 24:42I mean, in my mind,
- 24:46I feel like this needs to be,
- 24:49if you're going to sign on with them,
- 24:51if you chose to be this
- 24:53year's backbone of this pro athlete,
- 24:57I feel like it needs to be a,
- 24:59this is my personal opinion.
- 25:00I've obviously nothing to this,
- 25:02but I think you need to be
- 25:03a sole WFPE athlete.
- 25:08That's it.
- 25:09They've already said it's not going to be.
- 25:11I don't think you have to be
- 25:11a soul surfer.
- 25:14I mean,
- 25:16if someone's throwing a bunch of
- 25:17money at this and they're
- 25:18trying to back this,
- 25:19then those athletes that do this...
- 25:27I think it would be dumb of
- 25:28them to compete at the same
- 25:30time as the regular season,
- 25:32like put their major events
- 25:34in conflict with the
- 25:37CrossFit Games season.
- 25:38I think the more athletes
- 25:40can do competitions,
- 25:41whether it's the Games and this,
- 25:45it's better for their own personal brand,
- 25:47their experience, stuff like that.
- 25:51I don't think people need to
- 25:52be forced to just do this.
- 25:54When we get further into this,
- 25:56I'll have my idea.
- 25:58There is a point where I do
- 25:59agree with Jamie and
- 26:01there's a point right now
- 26:02that I agree with Carolyn.
- 26:06It's too early to do it.
- 26:09That's my point.
- 26:11You wouldn't be able to.
- 26:13You don't know enough about it.
- 26:14People wouldn't jump ship right away.
- 26:17I don't know.
- 26:17I think there might be
- 26:19They might already have
- 26:20their twenty athletes and
- 26:21they might be people who
- 26:22are already not willing to do the open.
- 26:24I mean, I'm sure that and that's fine,
- 26:27too.
- 26:27They've been that they have been asked,
- 26:29is this exclusive or not?
- 26:31And they were told it's not.
- 26:32And that's why people are signing.
- 26:34OK.
- 26:38So because nobody there's no
- 26:41prize money announced on
- 26:42any of this stuff, right?
- 26:44We don't know what the contracts are.
- 26:45I've also heard the contracts work where.
- 26:48If you win prize money,
- 26:50so the contract is just your floor.
- 26:53That is the least amount of
- 26:54money you can make in the season.
- 26:56But your winnings offset
- 26:58that contract amount.
- 27:02So it's basically like
- 27:03they're signing you to a
- 27:04guarantee of ten thousand
- 27:06dollars for the season.
- 27:09But if you win thirty thousand dollars,
- 27:10that ten goes away and you
- 27:11just take the thirty.
- 27:13Hmm.
- 27:18So it's more of like, instead of, hey,
- 27:21we're paying you this amount of money,
- 27:23and then whatever happens happens, it's,
- 27:25hey,
- 27:25this is the least amount you can get
- 27:27paid for the season.
- 27:32If that makes sense.
- 27:32Yeah.
- 27:33That's a rumor.
- 27:34That is not on any official document.
- 27:39I mean,
- 27:39it's got to pay for travel and
- 27:44entry to these comps.
- 27:47Yeah.
- 27:48What's a guarantee that
- 27:49you're not going to lose money, right?
- 27:50If you know that this is
- 27:52what I have in my budget to
- 27:53get to these events,
- 27:55then you're in a better
- 27:56shape than you've been in
- 27:57the past of where you're
- 28:00just forking over your own
- 28:01money and hoping that you
- 28:02win something to offset that.
- 28:12So then the challengers are
- 28:13athletes striving to earn a
- 28:14pro card for the twenty six
- 28:15season by competing in tour events.
- 28:17Challengers can earn points
- 28:18via the pro or challenger
- 28:20field to secure a spot in
- 28:22the finals and contend for
- 28:23a top twenty ranking in a pro contract.
- 28:27So it sounds like the top
- 28:29ten from the qualifier go
- 28:30and they get to compete in
- 28:31the pro division.
- 28:33And they will compete against the pros.
- 28:35And my guess is earn even
- 28:37more points than they could
- 28:39because there's going to be
- 28:40a contender division right
- 28:41below that at this event as
- 28:43well where those people
- 28:45will compete for points.
- 28:47But it's going to be a lower
- 28:48denomination of points.
- 28:51But they can put it in their
- 28:52bank so when they go,
- 28:54if they do qualify for the next one,
- 28:55they have some to add on.
- 28:57yeah I mean I love the
- 29:03challenger aspect of it
- 29:04make it exciting
- 29:10competitors are broken into
- 29:11age group skill level and
- 29:12team categories to
- 29:14participate competitors
- 29:15sign up for the respected
- 29:16category to compete and
- 29:17earn their spot at the
- 29:18world fitness finals
- 29:22So there are masters or maybe even teams,
- 29:25we don't know.
- 29:26There are going to be teams
- 29:28with an M and then
- 29:30different skill levels
- 29:32throughout that you can compete at,
- 29:33just like Wadapalooza has a
- 29:37few different levels, right?
- 29:40Beginner, intermediate, when you go there.
- 29:45And then this is kind of the
- 29:46way the season works out.
- 29:48You have your first challenger event,
- 29:49which is your qualifier to get in.
- 29:52The top twenty that are paid
- 29:53athletes don't have to
- 29:54participate in this.
- 29:56Just everybody else.
- 29:57Then you find your top ten
- 29:59and everybody else can
- 30:00compete in the challenger piece.
- 30:03I'm assuming it's like
- 30:05eleven to thirty or eleven
- 30:07to forty or something like that.
- 30:09And then the first live
- 30:11event is World Fitness Tour One.
- 30:13Those ten from the qualifier
- 30:15will compete against those
- 30:16twenty paid athletes to
- 30:19earn points against them.
- 30:23And then it just repeats itself.
- 30:25And then they have the World
- 30:26Fitness Trials,
- 30:27which that part I have no
- 30:28idea what it is.
- 30:29There is no explanation
- 30:30really what that is.
- 30:32But it is a one month long
- 30:34three stage online event.
- 30:37And then you have the World
- 30:38Fitness Finals.
- 30:39And I'm assuming that that
- 30:40is the top X number of
- 30:42point getters from the
- 30:44other two events will then
- 30:46compete for the
- 30:47championship and to make
- 30:48the top twenty to get their
- 30:49pro card for the next season.
- 31:00Any any thoughts on any of this?
- 31:04Well, there's missing some details,
- 31:05obviously.
- 31:06Of course.
- 31:07We don't know where.
- 31:08We don't know how many are
- 31:09at each of these things.
- 31:12How the points accumulate.
- 31:14If you take part in the
- 31:15first part of the online challenger,
- 31:18and let's say you take part
- 31:20in the first tour,
- 31:22and you accumulate a lot of
- 31:23points because you finished, I don't know,
- 31:25top fifteen there.
- 31:27Let's say you skip out on
- 31:29the challenger too.
- 31:30Would you still have enough
- 31:31points that you can...
- 31:33Like, you know,
- 31:34let's say you got a top ten
- 31:35at the two or one from a
- 31:37challenger position.
- 31:39Is that enough points to
- 31:40automatically qualify you
- 31:42for the two or two as, like,
- 31:44a challenger if not every
- 31:45challenger repeats the online part?
- 31:48Like, I just don't know, like, that part.
- 31:49Or if, like,
- 31:51the athletes that signed up
- 31:53for the first part of the qualifier,
- 31:55if only those athletes can do...
- 31:58The entire season, the entire season,
- 32:00if you can go in and out at
- 32:02different points, because like,
- 32:03let's say someone's injured
- 32:04and they are in the top ten challenger.
- 32:06Well,
- 32:07the next person up will be in there
- 32:09for the second online portion.
- 32:11I don't know if that makes any sense,
- 32:12but like.
- 32:14So in my head, I have the golf structure,
- 32:17right?
- 32:18So when the U S open comes
- 32:19around the week before the U S open,
- 32:21there's a qualifier.
- 32:22And if you do not have your
- 32:23tour card to just sign up
- 32:26for the U S open,
- 32:27you can play in this qualifier.
- 32:29And if you're the top,
- 32:30whatever the slots they have available,
- 32:33you try to get one of those
- 32:34slots at the qualifier and
- 32:36you can get in golf works
- 32:38on a world ranking where
- 32:39you earn points throughout
- 32:40the PGA season.
- 32:42And then based on that
- 32:43ranking is the tour card
- 32:45for the next year.
- 32:48so in the pga now they have
- 32:51way more events than this
- 32:53and it is way more
- 32:54established than this you
- 32:56can tiger woods did not
- 32:58play in everything because
- 32:59the majors were worth more
- 33:00points than just going to
- 33:02like the akron open right
- 33:05and so he would pop in and
- 33:07out of events throughout
- 33:08the year but he would
- 33:09always hit the four majors
- 33:10to make sure he'd get
- 33:11enough points to like keep
- 33:13his world ranking and all of those things
- 33:17I don't think we have enough
- 33:18events to pop in and out yet.
- 33:19Yeah.
- 33:22But I think that that is the plan.
- 33:26The plan would be to
- 33:27probably expand this out a
- 33:28little bit over after a few years of,
- 33:31of like proof of concept.
- 33:33And then you'd be able to say, Hey,
- 33:35I'm going to do X, Y,
- 33:36and Z to earn my points.
- 33:38And I think I can earn
- 33:39enough in those spots to
- 33:41keep my tour card or, or whatever.
- 33:45Does that make sense?
- 33:48Yeah.
- 33:50I, I feel like,
- 33:51I wish it was a sliding
- 33:53scale the whole time.
- 33:54Like,
- 33:56so say whoever's twentieth signed
- 33:58athlete is, is just like meh.
- 34:04And whoever get is the first
- 34:06place challenger out of
- 34:08this challenger goes to
- 34:09World Fitness Tour one and
- 34:11takes fifth overall out of all thirty.
- 34:15I would almost rather see, like,
- 34:17the top-twenty out of that
- 34:20stay the top-twenty for the
- 34:21next continue on.
- 34:23Because, like,
- 34:23I feel like that's sort of
- 34:24what Karen asked.
- 34:25Like,
- 34:25what if you got first as a challenger?
- 34:30I think contractually that
- 34:31would be a mess.
- 34:34Because right now you can
- 34:35sign a one-year contract
- 34:36that this is your guarantee.
- 34:38This is what you get.
- 34:39If you switched every comp
- 34:42to what those twenty were
- 34:43and had to switch the contract,
- 34:44can you imagine the
- 34:45paperwork and the personnel
- 34:47just responsible for all of that?
- 34:50I think the top twenty stays
- 34:51the top twenty in terms of
- 34:53their pro card.
- 34:55They're automatically invited to tour one,
- 34:57tour two, tour and the finals.
- 34:59What I was saying is as a challenger...
- 35:02could you have enough points
- 35:05if you got a top five,
- 35:06let's say in two or one
- 35:09that you could skip two or two,
- 35:11come back and get a lot of
- 35:13points like on the online ones or keep,
- 35:16you know,
- 35:17still maintain enough that you
- 35:18could still qualify for the finals.
- 35:19Like, I guess like that part still, um,
- 35:24yeah,
- 35:24I feel like whether like you have to
- 35:26do all three stages of the
- 35:27online as a challenger, plus like,
- 35:30possibly two or one two or
- 35:32two because like if you're
- 35:33a challenger you're now
- 35:34doing one so three onlines
- 35:37and possibly three in
- 35:38person so like my question
- 35:40is as a challenger can you
- 35:44skip one if you accumulate
- 35:46certain amount of points I
- 35:48mean it's only ten spots I
- 35:49don't see how you I don't
- 35:50see how you could yeah you
- 35:51can't really well
- 35:54We'd have to know what the points are,
- 35:55right?
- 35:55Right now,
- 35:55we don't know what the points are.
- 35:57If you are a challenger and
- 35:59you go to World Fitness One
- 36:02and you win it and you get
- 36:04the max number of points
- 36:05for winning that event,
- 36:06you may be able to skip the
- 36:08next one and still have
- 36:10enough points in the bank
- 36:11to qualify for the finals.
- 36:15But we don't know any of
- 36:16that because we don't know
- 36:17what the point structure is.
- 36:18We don't know how to earn points.
- 36:20We don't know the gap
- 36:21between like winning and whatever,
- 36:24because it doesn't have to
- 36:25be like a typical hundred point scale.
- 36:28It could be that a win is
- 36:29five hundred points and the
- 36:31gaps are very are a little
- 36:32bit bigger from like podium to next to.
- 36:37We'd have to see what all
- 36:38that structure is.
- 36:39And then I think then it
- 36:41becomes a strategic thing.
- 36:42Can I get enough points
- 36:43where I don't have to
- 36:44compete in every event?
- 36:46Well, then I look at, like, the chart,
- 36:49and it says, you know, ten qualify,
- 36:52you know, to the tour.
- 36:53Ten qualify to the tour.
- 36:55Now this one is open to all.
- 36:57Okay.
- 37:00am I cutting it out with my internet?
- 37:03Yeah, a little bit.
- 37:05Yeah.
- 37:05Sorry.
- 37:05Um, the open to all like,
- 37:07can people that haven't
- 37:08done qualifier one and
- 37:10qualifier to enter that trials,
- 37:13which is kind of like, you know,
- 37:14your Olympic trials,
- 37:15last chance qualifier type thing.
- 37:17Cause it does say open to all.
- 37:18So like,
- 37:18I don't know if people can skip
- 37:21qualifier one and two and
- 37:22just enter the world fitness trials,
- 37:25qualify through that month
- 37:27and make it to the finals.
- 37:29I would say yes.
- 37:32But again,
- 37:32that one has the least amount of
- 37:34information.
- 37:36That trials thing,
- 37:38there's no information in
- 37:39any of this about that specific piece.
- 37:49Are the top ten challengers
- 37:52getting their way paid to these events?
- 37:54Especially if like, like,
- 37:56I feel like this needs to start locally.
- 37:58And I, I mean, that narrows it down,
- 38:01but like,
- 38:02if you're saying like Granite
- 38:05games might be one in
- 38:05Madrid might be one.
- 38:06I don't know how,
- 38:07who you're expecting out of
- 38:08those ten challengers to
- 38:10travel over to Madrid.
- 38:11I, that was just a guess on my part.
- 38:15I have no insight.
- 38:16You're not the first one to bring that up.
- 38:18And I just think that's
- 38:19crazy to like ask these people.
- 38:22People like just trying to
- 38:25make a name for themselves
- 38:26to travel overseas.
- 38:27And like, I mean,
- 38:28it is World Fitness Project.
- 38:30I feel like they might be
- 38:31trying to go internationally.
- 38:33I just think that's.
- 38:33I think what changes is
- 38:35you're not just trying to
- 38:35make a name for yourself.
- 38:37You're trying to become a
- 38:38legit pro athlete with a guaranteed self.
- 38:41Yeah.
- 38:43That's a, I mean,
- 38:45I guess once we know more points wise,
- 38:47maybe it can make,
- 38:48maybe you can be like
- 38:49certain of yourself enough
- 38:50to make it make sense to
- 38:52travel for the first one.
- 38:53But I don't know.
- 38:56I think that's a big outlay.
- 38:59Yeah,
- 38:59it's very expensive for the athletes
- 39:00that aren't sponsored, basically.
- 39:02Like,
- 39:03when I put myself in this position as
- 39:04a challenger, like,
- 39:05if I have to travel to, you know, X, Y,
- 39:09and Z internationally while
- 39:10having my full-time job, I mean,
- 39:13I guess that's why, like,
- 39:14I wouldn't get a pro card.
- 39:15Like, it's just, like,
- 39:17you got to be pro to go, like, full-time.
- 39:19But, like,
- 39:20it's not really salaries of
- 39:21full-time athletes.
- 39:22You know what I mean?
- 39:23I'm not quitting my job for ten grand.
- 39:27Maybe a young university
- 39:29girl that doesn't work, this is enticing.
- 39:32And I think – The minimum of
- 39:34a certain amount.
- 39:35Yeah, yeah.
- 39:37We don't know, but – Yeah,
- 39:39but here – so that's a negative,
- 39:43and I'll give you that.
- 39:44I would say a positive, though,
- 39:45is because of these online qualifiers –
- 39:49Say you don't want a pro card,
- 39:51but you still want to
- 39:52compete at the highest level.
- 39:54You can still go to this online qualifier,
- 39:57and you can go compete at
- 39:58World Fitness Tour One
- 39:59because it's near you,
- 40:00and it's not a big expense,
- 40:02and you can take your shot.
- 40:06Anybody in the world can
- 40:07sign up for this thing,
- 40:09and if you're one of the top ten,
- 40:11you get a crack at it.
- 40:16because I like in the golf tour,
- 40:18like there's former NFL
- 40:19players that try to get to
- 40:21play in the U S open.
- 40:22Like they'll go to one of
- 40:23these qualifiers and just
- 40:25try to take their shot to
- 40:26get one opportunity to play on the,
- 40:29on the big stage.
- 40:34No, I like, like, I like this idea,
- 40:36like the challenger idea, like,
- 40:38Like there's a tour stuff.
- 40:40There's just not enough
- 40:41details right now to know enough.
- 40:45Then it's like,
- 40:46who's reviewing the videos?
- 40:47Who's programming for these things?
- 40:51Is it a group of people?
- 40:53Will these workouts be known?
- 40:55Will they be unknown like
- 40:56our sport has been?
- 40:59Like I have questions with
- 40:59that part just because of
- 41:01the leaks that happen on
- 41:02the CrossFit Games side of things.
- 41:07I want to say this cause I
- 41:08want this on record of,
- 41:09of my opinion is this is
- 41:12the first time in following
- 41:13CrossFit where I see a,
- 41:16like a legit logical season
- 41:23for the first time ever.
- 41:27this actually got me excited
- 41:29and I know there's a lot of
- 41:30details missing and I want
- 41:32to know what those details
- 41:33are but at this point like
- 41:35I've seen this structure
- 41:37work in tennis and in golf
- 41:40and and auto racing and
- 41:44things like that where
- 41:45there's a point system and
- 41:47you try to earn points to
- 41:49get your pro card um
- 41:52And I think the pro card is important,
- 41:54though.
- 41:54Like, it's like, I don't think if, like,
- 41:56as a pro athlete,
- 41:57you should have to do half of, like,
- 41:59most of these qualifiers.
- 42:00Like,
- 42:00you've established yourself as a pro
- 42:02that you should be able to
- 42:03get some sort of bypass, you know,
- 42:07at certain stages.
- 42:08So, like,
- 42:09I like this idea for those athletes.
- 42:11Like, I think...
- 42:12that's good and it's at
- 42:13least a one-year thing you
- 42:16know you you earn yourself
- 42:17through the prior year of
- 42:18playing like you know you
- 42:19earn your contract as any
- 42:21type of pro athlete like
- 42:22from the previous year of
- 42:24playing you whether you
- 42:25perform well the following
- 42:26year is you know whatever
- 42:28like you you got your
- 42:29contract based off your
- 42:30previous performance and I
- 42:32think that that makes sense
- 42:33and you get to skip parts
- 42:35of the season because
- 42:36you've earned that right
- 42:38and you get a contract
- 42:40which is pretty freaking awesome
- 42:43Now, you know,
- 42:44there's a lot of questions behind this,
- 42:45like where's the money coming from?
- 42:47Do they have the money to sustain this?
- 42:49Can it sustain year over year?
- 42:52But the one piece I'm
- 42:54excited about is it's like
- 42:58we keep trying to make the
- 43:00CrossFit season fit
- 43:03what we loved that worked
- 43:05but we couldn't afford and
- 43:08and it we're just trying to
- 43:09make like the square pegs
- 43:10fit in the round holes all
- 43:12the time this is like a
- 43:14complete detachment of
- 43:15going in a different
- 43:16direction going here is
- 43:18something that makes sense
- 43:20you can follow it from the
- 43:21beginning of the season to
- 43:22the end of the season you
- 43:24can follow a points
- 43:25leaderboard to know like
- 43:26who the top twenty athletes are
- 43:29Who's on the cusp?
- 43:30Who's fighting for that pro card?
- 43:35I think it adds a lot of excitement.
- 43:37I agree.
- 43:40I hope it works.
- 43:43Last night on Savant,
- 43:44Brian Spin made a comment.
- 43:47And I like Brian.
- 43:48He is my source for news.
- 43:50I watch The Spin every Wednesday.
- 43:52But he said he couldn't see
- 43:54people watching the same
- 43:55athletes comp after comp.
- 43:58That's what tennis is.
- 43:59That's what golf is.
- 44:00I don't think it's going to
- 44:02be the same athletes.
- 44:03You're going to get new
- 44:04challengers that are going to be there.
- 44:06And it's only one year.
- 44:07It's not year after year.
- 44:08It's only the one.
- 44:09Those top-twenty pro cards
- 44:11are going to change every single year.
- 44:13Agreed.
- 44:14Quite a bit, actually.
- 44:15And in the game season,
- 44:16we're watching Matt Frazier
- 44:17win five times in a row.
- 44:18We're watching Tia Toomey win seven times.
- 44:22And people still show up to
- 44:24the games to watch that.
- 44:32Jamie, you have thoughts I can see.
- 44:33Yeah, I don't know.
- 44:34I just, I, I feel like,
- 44:40I feel like there's not
- 44:41enough money in our sport to,
- 44:45I love the idea of this.
- 44:46I love that you like,
- 44:47we want to give a pro card
- 44:49and give people money and
- 44:50they earn their spot.
- 44:51But I don't know that our sport,
- 44:56can handle that model.
- 44:58Like, especially just for twenty athletes.
- 45:01My issue with this is like, what if,
- 45:05what if Roman is challenger
- 45:07number two and falls in at
- 45:09qual tour one and breaks
- 45:11his foot again and he's out?
- 45:13Next man up.
- 45:15Is it though?
- 45:15Now you've paid him for the
- 45:16whole year and he has that
- 45:17twenty spot for the whole year.
- 45:19And if he's not able to
- 45:21compete at the next comp,
- 45:23next challenger's up.
- 45:25You got nineteen pro and you
- 45:26got eleven challengers
- 45:28until he makes it back.
- 45:29His spot will be guaranteed
- 45:31on the next in-person
- 45:32competition if he's OK.
- 45:34If he's not,
- 45:34then you're having eleven challengers.
- 45:38And if he doesn't ever get
- 45:39enough points that year,
- 45:40he could be at a risk of
- 45:42losing his pro card and
- 45:43having to fight for it the
- 45:44following year.
- 45:46I just think our sport is too, like,
- 45:49I would rather see you, like, whatever,
- 45:51pick the first twenty for the first event,
- 45:53get your challengers,
- 45:55but I would rather see
- 45:55money go to the ten challengers,
- 45:58get them there, and, like,
- 46:00follow the season that way.
- 46:01Like, pay people's way to events.
- 46:04Pay people to get there.
- 46:08I mean,
- 46:08essentially sponsor all the
- 46:09athletes who have proven
- 46:12their way to be physically
- 46:14active at this event.
- 46:18think it takes away the
- 46:19incentive of the pro card
- 46:22the pro card has to mean
- 46:24something and you've earned
- 46:25that through other than
- 46:27this first year other than
- 46:29this first year you have
- 46:30earned that right through
- 46:31competition to be at the
- 46:33top twenty athlete in the
- 46:35next season to only have to
- 46:37show up at the live events
- 46:40And if you can't, then there's a backfill.
- 46:43Just like Rafael Nadal has
- 46:45to withdraw from the French Open,
- 46:47the next person in the
- 46:49world rankings gets a shot.
- 46:52Right?
- 46:53Just like that.
- 46:55And then he won't get any
- 46:57points for that event and
- 46:59probably will have a good
- 47:00chance of losing that pro
- 47:02card for the following season.
- 47:04Yeah, you see it in tennis all the time.
- 47:06A number one can be injured,
- 47:07misses a bunch of comps.
- 47:08We know they're the best in the sport,
- 47:10but their ranking has gone
- 47:12down because they haven't
- 47:12accumulated those points.
- 47:14They've got to fight for it back.
- 47:16Yeah,
- 47:17but those people are all getting paid
- 47:18to go there and getting
- 47:19their way paid to get there.
- 47:21Is the pro card going to be
- 47:24all paid for the athletes, you think?
- 47:26I think it's just that you
- 47:27get whatever that sum is as
- 47:30a budget for the year.
- 47:32And now you can choose to
- 47:33use that to pay to get you there,
- 47:35but that that's your money for the year.
- 47:41Again, like this is just the beginning.
- 47:44Think of it this way.
- 47:45If you can actually get a
- 47:46sport that people
- 47:47understand that actually
- 47:49has a structure for the
- 47:49season and people actually follow,
- 47:52that will actually get more
- 47:54money into the sport.
- 47:55Maybe people that have given
- 47:58up on a sport that changes
- 48:00its season every year and
- 48:02the way to get to the
- 48:03CrossFit Games every year is saying, hey,
- 48:06I'm going to bet on this
- 48:07one with an actual structure.
- 48:10And I'm not saying every
- 48:11sponsor is going to do that,
- 48:12but I'm sure there's a handful.
- 48:18And like the more I look at this,
- 48:19the open to all, like I think the,
- 48:22do you think the pros do
- 48:23that one as well?
- 48:25What's this open to all?
- 48:26And that's the one I have no
- 48:29doubt that they need to do that one.
- 48:31But if they need more points
- 48:32to solidify their top twenty,
- 48:33it could be a way to.
- 48:34Just yeah,
- 48:34I'm just thinking the open to
- 48:38all versus tend to qualify,
- 48:39tend to like that open to all just.
- 48:42I don't know.
- 48:44That's the one we really
- 48:45need more information on.
- 48:47I need to pull up a couple of comments.
- 48:50Clock says a Saudi,
- 48:51a Saudi Prince recently
- 48:52joined the executive board
- 48:53of the IF three.
- 48:54I'm wondering if he's pushed
- 48:55some money into the WFP.
- 48:58That's a very interesting
- 48:58statement and something
- 48:59that I have no clue about,
- 49:01but it'd be nice for some
- 49:04Saudi Prince money to come
- 49:05into the sport.
- 49:06For sure.
- 49:08Steven Tackett says,
- 49:10what is the number one most
- 49:11important thing about WFP
- 49:12that needs to happen to
- 49:14make it successful?
- 49:18They need to be smart with their money.
- 49:20Yeah.
- 49:21And they need to keep a
- 49:22structure that people understand.
- 49:26And they need a way for
- 49:27people to watch it.
- 49:31Like the media is going to
- 49:32be really important.
- 49:33Agree.
- 49:37Because you need people there to see it,
- 49:40whether they're there or at home.
- 49:41If the stands are empty,
- 49:43it's not going to work.
- 49:46The rumor is that they have
- 49:47been given a chunk of money.
- 49:50They need to make that chunk
- 49:51last as long as it can last
- 49:53to prove that this can work.
- 50:00I mean...
- 50:02I would say you need like
- 50:03the top athletes to make it
- 50:05legit legitimate, but I don't know.
- 50:09I have three seems to be doing okay.
- 50:11Like, and I don't,
- 50:12I would not say they have
- 50:13the best athletes there.
- 50:16Are they doing okay though?
- 50:17Are they more of just your penis?
- 50:19I don't know if they're doing like.
- 50:22They're not,
- 50:23they're not getting the stream
- 50:24watches that quite frankly,
- 50:27Brian friend gets on some.
- 50:30Some other comps.
- 50:31I mean, they're hosting,
- 50:33they're having comps and venue,
- 50:35bigger venues with a stream
- 50:36with prize purse.
- 50:39I would say that's somewhat successful.
- 50:43And it's not a one or a two year thing.
- 50:44They don't not pay their athletes.
- 50:45They don't.
- 50:48They don't say we didn't get
- 50:50enough vendors here and we
- 50:51can't pay this year in salary.
- 50:54It's not as successful as I
- 50:55think it could be.
- 50:56Like you're not actually
- 50:57getting the best athletes
- 50:58there besides like Norway
- 51:01who actually send like
- 51:02legit athletes there.
- 51:05Like USA, Canada,
- 51:07like it's not our top
- 51:08athletes that are there.
- 51:10And why do you think that is?
- 51:11Because I watched it today
- 51:13and I saw there was like five U.S.
- 51:16athletes there.
- 51:19Is it the bastardization of CrossFit?
- 51:22Is it that or is it because
- 51:23it's international and it
- 51:28doesn't like that's expensive.
- 51:31So I think that to be fair
- 51:33to the I have three where
- 51:35we are strong in North
- 51:36America is that they are
- 51:38they are diving into
- 51:40colleges and universities for teams.
- 51:44And that's that's where
- 51:45their growth is going to be.
- 51:47Because it's primarily more
- 51:49of a team concept,
- 51:52like country versus country,
- 51:53as opposed to individual
- 51:54versus individual.
- 51:58Their goal is to eventually
- 52:00be an Olympic sport.
- 52:04And so they are restricted
- 52:07by the rules of the Olympic
- 52:08Committee to make this an Olympic sport.
- 52:13But I like their idea of
- 52:14their workouts and like
- 52:16they're announcing,
- 52:17it's like you have a skill workout,
- 52:18you have a gymnastics workout,
- 52:19you have an endurance speed or power,
- 52:21whatever it is.
- 52:23Like, I think that's,
- 52:24there's something with that
- 52:25that's marketable for like
- 52:29the Olympic committee and
- 52:31stuff like that.
- 52:32It's interesting.
- 52:33It's just not getting the recognition of,
- 52:37you know,
- 52:37the CrossFit games and the
- 52:39fittest on earth and that title.
- 52:45so let me ask you this.
- 52:46If it becomes an Olympic sport, does it,
- 52:48does it,
- 52:48and you're now doing it for your
- 52:50country and to be able to
- 52:51walk into that Olympic stadium,
- 52:53do you think some of the
- 52:54more fit athletes would
- 52:56then invest in it?
- 52:56One thousand percent.
- 52:59If it's going to the Olympics, for sure.
- 53:03I mean,
- 53:03I feel like you automatically get
- 53:05sponsored if you're
- 53:07representing your country.
- 53:08Like you, this is the thing,
- 53:09like people need to be,
- 53:12their expenses covered to
- 53:13get to these events.
- 53:14Yeah.
- 53:18Right.
- 53:19But I think you're thinking
- 53:20of sponsorship in the
- 53:21current format where you
- 53:24have to be an influencer
- 53:25and you have to be all this other stuff.
- 53:28If we actually had a sport
- 53:29that had a season that made
- 53:31sense that people would follow,
- 53:33people would start rooting
- 53:34for athletes because of what they do,
- 53:37not because of what they post.
- 53:39Right.
- 53:40But you're not going to get
- 53:41an Olympic sport of this
- 53:42when we have no amateur leagues.
- 53:46You look at any type of
- 53:47sport that is at the Olympics,
- 53:49there's actual amateur leagues of that,
- 53:53and young kids can do it,
- 53:54and then they can do it
- 53:57throughout their whole lives,
- 53:59and then you get the
- 53:59professionals that go to
- 54:00the Olympics and whatnot.
- 54:01You don't have that for CrossFit.
- 54:03Yeah.
- 54:08true I think there's some
- 54:10clubs forming but I don't
- 54:12think we it's and like I
- 54:14said I have three is diving
- 54:15into the college and
- 54:16university scene uh but it
- 54:18has not gone down to like
- 54:20high school or um like
- 54:25little league style stuff
- 54:27or club sports for younger athletes
- 54:32They must somewhat do that
- 54:34internationally because it
- 54:35sounded like they had
- 54:36twelve and thirteen year olds at this.
- 54:38I have three.
- 54:41I know they,
- 54:41they have gone younger than CrossFit.
- 54:44Yeah.
- 54:45I mean,
- 54:45I heard him this morning say they
- 54:47did their podiums for the
- 54:48twelve and thirteen year olds.
- 54:50But in Norway,
- 54:52functional fitness is an
- 54:55Olympic sport or whatever.
- 54:57They are enforced by the
- 54:58country and are subsidized to train.
- 55:02Yeah.
- 55:08And that's why Norway sends
- 55:10all the big athletes there
- 55:11because they're doing it to
- 55:13get those subsidies to
- 55:14subsidize their training
- 55:16for the rest of their season.
- 55:22I'm not sure we are getting
- 55:24that anytime soon in the US.
- 55:37Yeah.
- 55:37So final question.
- 55:39So we have vague information
- 55:42about the WFP.
- 55:46Yay or nay or wait to see what's coming?
- 55:48Wait to see.
- 55:52I mean, I'm a yay right now,
- 55:54but there's still a lot to see.
- 55:58Yeah, I can't wait to see what's coming.
- 56:03This actually is going to be
- 56:04very exciting.
- 56:05Excited.
- 56:06It could be exciting.
- 56:07I just think there's a ton
- 56:08more information that we need.
- 56:12On both sides.
- 56:14This is quite the teaser.
- 56:15This and the CrossFit Games.
- 56:17We don't know anything about
- 56:19anything right now.
- 56:22Yep.
- 56:25All right.
- 56:28So get us back to what's going on.
- 56:33In the news this week was
- 56:35that Jason Hopper made an
- 56:36announcement that he is
- 56:38leaving HWPO and headed to
- 56:41Brute with Coach L. Any thoughts on that?
- 56:49I cringe at those type of things,
- 56:51like the announcements.
- 56:53It's like those high school
- 56:54athletes that are like,
- 56:56I'm going to put this hat on.
- 56:58No, this one.
- 56:58I'm like, I don't care.
- 56:59Just announce whatever you want to do.
- 57:04I always cringe at those type of, ooh,
- 57:07let me give you the jersey.
- 57:09Ooh, let's look at it.
- 57:10It's brute.
- 57:11It's too much for me.
- 57:13I find it's cringey.
- 57:15but it's cool that he's
- 57:18pursuing another program
- 57:21trying something else out
- 57:24seeing how he can develop I
- 57:27think it'll be I think
- 57:29that'll be a good fit for
- 57:30him he's not moving it's
- 57:36like I could see the appeal
- 57:38there and I feel like him
- 57:40and Dalen have built a bit of a
- 57:44bromance, but I,
- 57:46I feel like the move would
- 57:48be to like actually go and
- 57:49train with Alan.
- 57:50And, um, I don't know,
- 57:53maybe that would be too, too much,
- 57:54too intense.
- 57:55So maybe that wouldn't be great,
- 57:57but I guess I'm curious,
- 57:58is there like some plan of
- 58:03like sharing workouts and
- 58:05leaderboards to gauge
- 58:06fitness throughout the year?
- 58:07Like what?
- 58:08I don't know.
- 58:08Like there's gotta be a
- 58:10thought process behind this.
- 58:13that you want to go and work
- 58:15with this coach?
- 58:16Well,
- 58:17I think that their reputation speaks
- 58:19for them, like for itself,
- 58:20the last couple of years,
- 58:21they've had extremely successful athletes,
- 58:24both on the females and male side,
- 58:26like last year or not this year,
- 58:28but the fall,
- 58:29the last year they had almost all,
- 58:31I think all their semifinal
- 58:32athletes might get to the games.
- 58:34Um,
- 58:35this year they have top
- 58:36athletes so I think being
- 58:39curious about what's going
- 58:40on in that you know type of
- 58:42programming caught jason's
- 58:44eye and he's looking for
- 58:46something new like once
- 58:47you've finished high twice
- 58:48now like I think seventh
- 58:50the one year and fourth
- 58:51this past year he might
- 58:52just be needing a little
- 58:53motivation and this is a
- 58:55little spark to kind of
- 58:56re-get him excited about
- 58:58training and new things
- 59:00versus the same type of
- 59:01programming that you've done um
- 59:04I think it could be good.
- 59:07I don't think he even needs
- 59:08to compare himself really to Dallin.
- 59:09I think he's just trying to, you know,
- 59:11be a sponge and learn from
- 59:14different types of programming.
- 59:15Like,
- 59:16like he basically said that he's
- 59:17learned what he needed to learn from,
- 59:20you know,
- 59:20hard work pays off and I'm sure
- 59:23he's learning a lot through
- 59:24JR and he's going to go and
- 59:26grab whatever he likes from
- 59:29this other group and see from there.
- 59:34When in a related story,
- 59:35Jake Marconi announced that
- 59:37he is no longer coaching
- 59:38elite athletes and that he
- 59:40is taking over HWPO strong
- 59:43and moving back to Connecticut, uh,
- 59:45to be with his family.
- 59:48And that could have played a
- 59:49part in the role too.
- 59:50If, if, yeah.
- 59:52Who knows?
- 59:53Yeah.
- 59:53I wonder if they had that
- 59:54talk that Marconi was going
- 59:56to be wrapping up and where
- 59:59Jason's place really would be.
- 1:00:01Um,
- 1:00:04I am curious if Danielle
- 1:00:05Brandon and Jason will.
- 1:00:07She's in Florida, isn't she?
- 1:00:08Nashville.
- 1:00:10Oh, she is in Nashville.
- 1:00:14It's a little far, but.
- 1:00:17So they seem to have a
- 1:00:19pretty good relationship, too.
- 1:00:22Yeah, I think like.
- 1:00:25So I met Coach L at Masters Games,
- 1:00:29and I loved talking to him.
- 1:00:32He was so easy to talk to, such a nice guy,
- 1:00:36super laid back compared to
- 1:00:38a lot of coaches,
- 1:00:39does not get overly excited
- 1:00:42about anything.
- 1:00:42He's super calm.
- 1:00:44And maybe he's just looking
- 1:00:45for something like that,
- 1:00:47like just that calming
- 1:00:48voice on game day because, I mean,
- 1:00:51that's what Coach L is.
- 1:00:56Where is he out of, uh, Louisiana?
- 1:00:59Does he have his own gym?
- 1:01:06I don't know.
- 1:01:06I don't know.
- 1:01:07Uh,
- 1:01:07because most of his athletes are remote,
- 1:01:09if not all right.
- 1:01:13I first got to know him when
- 1:01:14Matt Pullen was one of our, um,
- 1:01:17all access athletes and that,
- 1:01:18and he was Matt Pullen's
- 1:01:19coach and he trained Matt
- 1:01:23to then become a brute coach.
- 1:01:25Oh,
- 1:01:27so is that what matt's doing
- 1:01:28right now uh I know he's
- 1:01:30doing that part part of his
- 1:01:32day okay good for him yeah
- 1:01:38so brooke is transferring
- 1:01:40over to the we prefer the
- 1:01:41hate under jr is that what
- 1:01:46I did not see that it seems
- 1:01:49she tagged uh she tagged
- 1:01:50that on her story tonight
- 1:01:54On Instagram or today, today or tonight.
- 1:01:55I don't know which one.
- 1:01:59See, and I feel like,
- 1:02:00I feel like Jason enjoyed
- 1:02:02when Brooke was in town and
- 1:02:04they worked out together.
- 1:02:05I feel like that would have
- 1:02:07been a good path to go down.
- 1:02:13Yeah,
- 1:02:14like we've seen like the male and
- 1:02:16female combinations that
- 1:02:18work better versus like him
- 1:02:20going to train with Dallin
- 1:02:21and having that direct
- 1:02:22competition the entire year.
- 1:02:24And I think the male and
- 1:02:28female competition is
- 1:02:30different and they can
- 1:02:31mutually help each other
- 1:02:32and give each other
- 1:02:33pointers and without it
- 1:02:35being as defeating sometimes.
- 1:02:39Yeah.
- 1:02:49No, go to the bottom of that.
- 1:02:50Okay.
- 1:02:55Oh, there it is.
- 1:02:57We prefer the hate.
- 1:03:00I wouldn't say she's a, I don't know.
- 1:03:01I think she's just kind of
- 1:03:02trying to support Jr.
- 1:03:04I think she probably has a
- 1:03:05lot of respect for Jr.
- 1:03:06And you know, if you can,
- 1:03:09if you can use your
- 1:03:10platform to help prop somebody up,
- 1:03:13why wouldn't you?
- 1:03:17Yeah.
- 1:03:18But also won't be surprised
- 1:03:19if she does make a switch.
- 1:03:24I just get the feeling like
- 1:03:25HWPO is moving out of the elite athlete.
- 1:03:27And focusing more on the day
- 1:03:31to day athlete.
- 1:03:33And opening up other sports,
- 1:03:35golf strength.
- 1:03:36Yeah.
- 1:03:37And if they can get deep enough into golf,
- 1:03:39there's a lot of money
- 1:03:40there and I could support them.
- 1:03:43So.
- 1:03:46Yeah.
- 1:03:47Yeah.
- 1:03:47Which is crazy because they
- 1:03:48had that whole facility
- 1:03:49built for like their athletes to go and.
- 1:03:52And it doesn't even get used.
- 1:03:56And all of those big banners
- 1:03:58with Jason Hopper and
- 1:03:59Katrin and a lot of their
- 1:04:02athletes and a lot of them
- 1:04:04are not there now or retired.
- 1:04:07Yeah.
- 1:04:08Crazy.
- 1:04:10And all those special rigs
- 1:04:11that are just like a
- 1:04:12regional rig or a semifinal
- 1:04:13rig or a games rig, you know,
- 1:04:15so you don't.
- 1:04:16Wow.
- 1:04:17That was a huge... Well,
- 1:04:18I'm sure Rogue helped him
- 1:04:20out because Matt was a Rogue athlete.
- 1:04:22Was he not?
- 1:04:24Speaking of Rogue
- 1:04:25athletes... I don't know if he was.
- 1:04:27I don't know if he was Rogue.
- 1:04:30I don't think he was.
- 1:04:32I don't think so either.
- 1:04:34Just Nike and... Yeah.
- 1:04:37Yeah, I did see Tyson's shirt.
- 1:04:41Chicago Bear backup
- 1:04:42quarterback Tyson Bajent
- 1:04:44has a new shirt out from Rogue.
- 1:04:46Too bad it's not blue and orange,
- 1:04:49but it's nice.
- 1:04:53Yeah, that's a cool shirt.
- 1:04:57I guess I just assumed that
- 1:04:58because Matt was always
- 1:04:59here at Rogue for things.
- 1:05:06And it used to be you could
- 1:05:07just run down to Rogue and
- 1:05:08watch the athletes work out
- 1:05:11back in the day, and that was fun.
- 1:05:14so and and we'll speed this
- 1:05:16up a little bit because
- 1:05:17we're running a little bit
- 1:05:18long um bethany shadbur and
- 1:05:21bethany shadbird flores um
- 1:05:24rocks uh and was caught off
- 1:05:26guard um if you watch her
- 1:05:28youtube video about it um
- 1:05:30she did finish eighth
- 1:05:32overall first in her age
- 1:05:34group um at a one oh eight
- 1:05:37uh for her by herself she
- 1:05:38said that she had no clue
- 1:05:40where to go during the
- 1:05:42transitions um and so it
- 1:05:46made it her transitions a
- 1:05:47little slow um I think it's
- 1:05:51very clearly put out I
- 1:05:52think sometimes that's
- 1:05:53excuses yeah people say I
- 1:05:56mean I have heard it's there everyone
- 1:05:59But every one I've seen is pretty clear.
- 1:06:02Like there's huge blowups, station one,
- 1:06:04station two, station,
- 1:06:05like it's not confusing.
- 1:06:06When I entered, like it looked confusing.
- 1:06:08And then when I was like, I'm like,
- 1:06:09this is stupid easy.
- 1:06:10Like it's, you just go to that station.
- 1:06:12Like it's really not that
- 1:06:13difficult to understand.
- 1:06:15I think the part that
- 1:06:16surprised me in her
- 1:06:17statements were that she
- 1:06:19was not prepared for all the running.
- 1:06:21And she's one of the best
- 1:06:22runners in the sport.
- 1:06:24Her time is a great time though.
- 1:06:26Yeah.
- 1:06:27I mean,
- 1:06:27what was Christie like one Oh six
- 1:06:28when she did her,
- 1:06:29I think she did one Oh four, one Oh four.
- 1:06:32I want to wait.
- 1:06:33Excellent.
- 1:06:33That's a great time.
- 1:06:36Yeah.
- 1:06:36She, uh, she just said she was cramping up,
- 1:06:39um, after it was over, not during,
- 1:06:40but like after it was over,
- 1:06:42she just was not prepared
- 1:06:43for it all and was definitely feeling it.
- 1:06:46Um, after the event,
- 1:06:49you definitely have to train for it.
- 1:06:51Yeah.
- 1:06:51She said she did not.
- 1:06:53She just kept doing her normal training.
- 1:06:57um peter ben benoit I said
- 1:07:01it's dicey if you haven't
- 1:07:02done one before you do have
- 1:07:04to think there is no one
- 1:07:05telling you where to go
- 1:07:06it's up to you I mean you
- 1:07:08have big I I did one and
- 1:07:11it's a big blow up and I
- 1:07:14don't think it's very
- 1:07:15difficult at all to know
- 1:07:17you're going station one
- 1:07:19two three four five six
- 1:07:20seven eight I I don't think
- 1:07:23it's difficult I mean
- 1:07:27Maybe to count your own laps and be like,
- 1:07:28oh,
- 1:07:29I have to think about if I've done one
- 1:07:30or two,
- 1:07:31but then you look at the big
- 1:07:31screen and you can see what you've done.
- 1:07:35I really don't think it's that difficult.
- 1:07:39Yeah.
- 1:07:40Especially not for a games
- 1:07:41athlete that would have
- 1:07:42experience competing.
- 1:07:43Maybe if you're someone
- 1:07:44that's never done any competition,
- 1:07:45I could see that part.
- 1:07:47But someone with high-level
- 1:07:50experience in CrossFit can
- 1:07:52figure it out very, very fast.
- 1:07:54And if you can't, there's...
- 1:07:57Do you just go to the first
- 1:07:58open wall ball target or
- 1:08:00the first open... Yeah, you go... Like,
- 1:08:02you make your way to the end of the line.
- 1:08:06Like,
- 1:08:06you enter the zone and you go all the
- 1:08:08way to the next line that's open.
- 1:08:10And then people fill in, fill in, fill in,
- 1:08:12fill in.
- 1:08:13And then you go out.
- 1:08:14Okay.
- 1:08:17Well, in addition to this,
- 1:08:18Tia and James Newberry did
- 1:08:19a duo competition in
- 1:08:21Melbourne where they...
- 1:08:25Took third overall and
- 1:08:27posted the fastest time
- 1:08:28ever for a CrossFit couple.
- 1:08:32Duo.
- 1:08:34Yeah.
- 1:08:36Rumors starting now.
- 1:08:37I think everybody knows.
- 1:08:41Everybody knows.
- 1:08:42Yeah, because Christy did a very,
- 1:08:43very fast one.
- 1:08:44I think like a minute slower
- 1:08:46than that one with her
- 1:08:47partner a couple weeks ago.
- 1:08:50She was like, I want to say.
- 1:08:51Hmm.
- 1:08:55And you said in our Jay
- 1:08:58Crouch and Maddie did also broken hour.
- 1:09:05So CrossFitters killing the
- 1:09:07high rocks world.
- 1:09:11Corey Leonard said that
- 1:09:13Brandon Luckett ran six
- 1:09:14extra laps because he
- 1:09:15didn't know where the lap
- 1:09:16counter was in Dallas.
- 1:09:18The lap counter is here.
- 1:09:19Yeah.
- 1:09:19I mean,
- 1:09:22Listen, folks,
- 1:09:23you got to think in everyday life.
- 1:09:27That's concerning a little bit.
- 1:09:30Beck said,
- 1:09:31I went to Melbourne High Rocks yesterday.
- 1:09:33If the volunteers weren't
- 1:09:34there directing people,
- 1:09:35I think it would have been confusing.
- 1:09:40Maybe some are.
- 1:09:42When you see Hunter's videos,
- 1:09:43they all look the same to me.
- 1:09:44They look set up the same.
- 1:09:48Tia and James seem to do it just fine.
- 1:09:52Maybe it helps to have a
- 1:09:53person with you and talk it out.
- 1:09:55I don't know.
- 1:09:57Watch, watch.
- 1:09:58I guess we'll see.
- 1:09:59I'll go do one and I'll end
- 1:10:00up getting lost and turned around.
- 1:10:02So are you planning to do one?
- 1:10:05I'm sure I'll do one.
- 1:10:06Would you want to do your
- 1:10:07first one as a individual
- 1:10:10or get a feel for it as a team?
- 1:10:11Um, I, I mean, I guess I wouldn't care.
- 1:10:17Whatever, however I could get in,
- 1:10:19I would probably go individual, um,
- 1:10:21just I can't there's none
- 1:10:23like near me on a weekend
- 1:10:25that even is makes sense
- 1:10:29that's been the problem you
- 1:10:31would be awesome at it I
- 1:10:32would love to see what
- 1:10:33you're doing I would love
- 1:10:35to do it I actually had a
- 1:10:37uh one of the girls in
- 1:10:39training think tank um
- 1:10:41commented because I would
- 1:10:43like she follows my scores
- 1:10:44and I think she's a high
- 1:10:46rocks athlete and I had
- 1:10:48said I wanted to and she's
- 1:10:49like well I have a ticket to
- 1:10:51Anaheim a couple weeks ago, whatever,
- 1:10:53and I was like, yeah,
- 1:10:55I can't get to California.
- 1:10:56That's the problem.
- 1:10:57It's expensive.
- 1:10:59Yeah.
- 1:10:59Chicago, right?
- 1:11:03Don't they do them there?
- 1:11:04Chicago?
- 1:11:06Yeah.
- 1:11:06It was November sixteenth,
- 1:11:08which was my niece's
- 1:11:10eighteenth birthday when we
- 1:11:11went to the casino.
- 1:11:14It's been that weekend every year.
- 1:11:16It'd be tough for me to
- 1:11:22don't know we'll see all
- 1:11:25right we talked about
- 1:11:25if-three a lot um we can I
- 1:11:28cannot find an active
- 1:11:29leaderboard anywhere when I
- 1:11:32go to the site I think it's
- 1:11:33at I get a black screen um
- 1:11:35so maybe we'll talk about
- 1:11:37the winners of that next
- 1:11:37week but there was a big
- 1:11:40piece of controversy that
- 1:11:41came out of the if-three we
- 1:11:43talked earlier about them
- 1:11:44wanting to be an olympic
- 1:11:45sport and so they have adopted um
- 1:11:49the policy on Russia,
- 1:11:51just like the Olympics did,
- 1:11:53to fall in line with what
- 1:11:55the Olympics are doing.
- 1:11:57Then the organizers in Budapest, Hungary,
- 1:12:00made a mistake by putting
- 1:12:02the Russian flag on the
- 1:12:03name placards of the Russian athletes.
- 1:12:06And I think there was even
- 1:12:08some intro stuff announcing
- 1:12:09them as Russian athletes.
- 1:12:12Um,
- 1:12:13that got a Lithuanian masters athlete
- 1:12:16upset.
- 1:12:17She then wore a shirt on the
- 1:12:19competition floor that said,
- 1:12:21make Russia small again.
- 1:12:23Um,
- 1:12:23the organizers removed her from the
- 1:12:25competition and then Lithuania decided to,
- 1:12:30um,
- 1:12:30boycott the rest of the IF three over
- 1:12:34that.
- 1:12:36Um,
- 1:12:36the IF three has come out with a
- 1:12:38statement saying that they
- 1:12:39apologized for the mistake
- 1:12:41that they had made.
- 1:12:43Um,
- 1:12:44and regret that that had had any
- 1:12:47influence on anything.
- 1:12:48And we're saddened that
- 1:12:49Lithuania decided to
- 1:12:50boycott the IF three.
- 1:12:53Um,
- 1:12:53but then it went on for the rest of the
- 1:12:54weekend,
- 1:12:55but I did want to report that news.
- 1:12:57Um, uh, wow.
- 1:13:06Clock with just a lot of information.
- 1:13:08The IF-III is not an IOC
- 1:13:10member federation.
- 1:13:12They are trying to be.
- 1:13:15They are trying to be.
- 1:13:16I did find it listed as an
- 1:13:17international governing body under TAFISA,
- 1:13:21the Association for
- 1:13:22International Support for All.
- 1:13:24Yeah,
- 1:13:24they are trying to be recognized by
- 1:13:26the IOC.
- 1:13:28They have not reached that level yet.
- 1:13:32But that is the goal of this endeavor.
- 1:13:36And I think it would be cool
- 1:13:37if they could.
- 1:13:38It would be cool.
- 1:13:42In addition to that,
- 1:13:45legends happened this weekend.
- 1:13:48I was really sad not to be there.
- 1:13:50I was too.
- 1:13:52Where was it?
- 1:13:54Tempe, Arizona.
- 1:13:54Yeah, Arizona.
- 1:13:56That's right.
- 1:13:57One,
- 1:13:57it snowed like hell here on Thursday
- 1:13:59and Friday.
- 1:14:00It would have been really
- 1:14:00nice to be in Tempe instead of Ohio.
- 1:14:05And I just love those athletes.
- 1:14:07I love hanging out with them.
- 1:14:09I love how like they love to
- 1:14:10chat and talk during the
- 1:14:12competition week.
- 1:14:13It's just very laid back
- 1:14:16compared to like the elite level athletes
- 1:14:21And they still give one
- 1:14:22hundred percent on the
- 1:14:23floor in every event and
- 1:14:25are cutthroat to win the competitions.
- 1:14:29But they're just really cool
- 1:14:31to hang out with and their
- 1:14:32stories are freaking amazing.
- 1:14:34I'm just sad I wasn't there.
- 1:14:36But our girl Holly put out
- 1:14:38leaderboards the entire
- 1:14:39weekend for everybody to share.
- 1:14:41She also posted the
- 1:14:42schedules for every day.
- 1:14:44I hope we can get to a point
- 1:14:45where they are
- 1:14:49where they are streaming
- 1:14:50again um because I would
- 1:14:53watch these athletes how
- 1:14:56many athletes were there
- 1:14:57for um there's like uh per
- 1:15:00division so like forty for
- 1:15:04the other forty yeah so
- 1:15:06similar as um as the games
- 1:15:09yep as the masters on the end games
- 1:15:12And I don't know if they had,
- 1:15:14like last year they had
- 1:15:17teams and like even intermediate teams.
- 1:15:22Yes.
- 1:15:23So I don't know if they did
- 1:15:24any of that this year or not.
- 1:15:26Do they have prize money?
- 1:15:28They did not last year.
- 1:15:32They did not.
- 1:15:33Yes, they did not last year.
- 1:15:34I have not heard.
- 1:15:37That would be a very good
- 1:15:37question if we could get
- 1:15:38one of the podium people to let us know.
- 1:15:43I've heard Leonard said no
- 1:15:44teams this year.
- 1:15:45Oh, interesting.
- 1:15:46And also no prize money.
- 1:15:50And what?
- 1:15:51No prize money.
- 1:15:53I thought they posted that
- 1:15:55there would for sure be
- 1:15:55prize money this year.
- 1:15:56I don't know.
- 1:15:58If they don't start paying prize money,
- 1:16:00I think.
- 1:16:00I'm pretty sure there was a
- 1:16:03post like two months ago
- 1:16:05that said there would be
- 1:16:06prize money this year.
- 1:16:12Oof, that would be really bad.
- 1:16:15Yeah.
- 1:16:16I have the leaderboard.
- 1:16:18Yeah, I have Holly's up and ready to go.
- 1:16:21Okay.
- 1:16:21Oh, no,
- 1:16:22I have the leaderboard for I have three.
- 1:16:24Oh.
- 1:16:26Anybody?
- 1:16:28Just individual men and women.
- 1:16:29Give us give us the top three.
- 1:16:31So they have under twelve years old,
- 1:16:33under twelve and then
- 1:16:34thirteen to fourteen.
- 1:16:35That's crazy.
- 1:16:37So.
- 1:16:44You can put it in the private chat.
- 1:16:45Maybe I don't know how to share.
- 1:16:46I was trying to figure out Colin boss.
- 1:16:52Hard one.
- 1:16:54Do they have second,
- 1:16:55third or Tom King from UK?
- 1:16:58Second Len postal from Germany.
- 1:17:01Third Victor Helsing, half Norway,
- 1:17:03fourth Phillip Lundquist, Sweden,
- 1:17:06fifth Andre Anton.
- 1:17:10Christian Hartman, Victor Lundahl,
- 1:17:12Henrik Nygaard,
- 1:17:14and Jack Rosema was tenth.
- 1:17:18Nice.
- 1:17:19Good for him for going out there.
- 1:17:21Ladies open.
- 1:17:25Jack Rosema was one of the
- 1:17:26ones that was part of the Army, right?
- 1:17:29Yes.
- 1:17:30I wonder if they send... Who
- 1:17:35do you think won?
- 1:17:35Women's.
- 1:17:37Any guesses?
- 1:17:37Yes.
- 1:17:38Norway.
- 1:17:39No.
- 1:17:39Lena Richter.
- 1:17:41No.
- 1:17:41Andrea Solberg.
- 1:17:43From the open.
- 1:17:45Oh, Miriam.
- 1:17:46Yep.
- 1:17:46Mirjam von Rohrer was first.
- 1:17:48She's good.
- 1:17:49She's really good.
- 1:17:51Ella Wilkinson, second.
- 1:17:53Nicole Heer, third.
- 1:17:54Julia Jacobson, fourth.
- 1:17:56Ingrid Tondell, Norway.
- 1:17:59Astrid Tinn, Denmark, sixth.
- 1:18:02Emma Harving from the U.S., seventh.
- 1:18:05Julie Hugard, fourth.
- 1:18:07eighth, Anastasia Dodonova, ninth,
- 1:18:12and Camilla Solomonson-Hellman was tenth.
- 1:18:18Okay.
- 1:18:18Yeah.
- 1:18:18Is there some names in that top ten?
- 1:18:19Yeah, there is.
- 1:18:23Miriam's like very,
- 1:18:24like she's got some
- 1:18:24wheelhouse stuff that like
- 1:18:26is extremely elite.
- 1:18:28Like she's just raw in the
- 1:18:29sport that like she just
- 1:18:31tweaks up a little stuff here and there.
- 1:18:33Like she's good.
- 1:18:36Yeah, she'll
- 1:18:38all right I'm going to pull
- 1:18:39up the legends leaderboard
- 1:18:41and then we'll go through
- 1:18:43the top three in every
- 1:18:44division uh just because
- 1:18:46there's so many I'm not
- 1:18:47gonna go through yeah more
- 1:18:49than that uh corey corey
- 1:18:51says podium picks from
- 1:18:52legends have no one with
- 1:18:53giant or less than giant
- 1:18:54checks so they have never
- 1:18:58had a picture with checks
- 1:18:59when they've paid even when
- 1:19:00we got like about two
- 1:19:01thousand or one thousand
- 1:19:02from the one at mayhem
- 1:19:05they don't, they don't do that.
- 1:19:07There's no.
- 1:19:08So if that's how you're
- 1:19:09looking to see if they paid,
- 1:19:10that's a bad way to confirm that.
- 1:19:12So we're gonna start with
- 1:19:13sixty five plus on the women's side.
- 1:19:15Patricia McGill took first.
- 1:19:17Christine Long, second.
- 1:19:18Denise Moore, third.
- 1:19:19Our girl, Denise Moore,
- 1:19:21who is a frequent listener
- 1:19:22of the show on the men's side.
- 1:19:25John Crockett, first.
- 1:19:26John Guthrie, second.
- 1:19:27Alan Boyce, third.
- 1:19:31Then we go.
- 1:19:32How many events?
- 1:19:34Eight.
- 1:19:36Nine.
- 1:19:38They went Thursday through Sunday.
- 1:19:40It's four days.
- 1:19:41And they do,
- 1:19:41I think they do three events
- 1:19:42on one of the days.
- 1:19:43And the final event is a two point.
- 1:19:46It's a double score.
- 1:19:48Well, maybe they only did two each day.
- 1:19:49I don't know.
- 1:19:54okay um yeah so I think it's
- 1:19:57nine but I don't quote me
- 1:19:59on that uh on the women's
- 1:20:00side for sixty sixty-four
- 1:20:02Lynn Watt another friend of
- 1:20:03the show uh we've
- 1:20:04interviewed her in the past
- 1:20:05Lucy Bishop Marie lasage on
- 1:20:08the men's side Ralph Bass
- 1:20:10Gary Cottle and Chris Bowman
- 1:20:16Then on the fifty five to fifty nine,
- 1:20:19Cindy Hinkle is Hinkle,
- 1:20:20another friend of the show
- 1:20:21and best friend of Denise
- 1:20:22Moore to Mavar and Christy Looney.
- 1:20:28And then on the men's side, Andrew Denham,
- 1:20:30Rick Stefano and Sean Marsh.
- 1:20:34Fifty to fifty-four, T. Geby,
- 1:20:38Kim Van Zanten, Ada Koplinger.
- 1:20:42On the men's side, Corey Borling,
- 1:20:44a friend of the show, too,
- 1:20:45interviewed him.
- 1:20:46Vincent Voisin and Brian Cheek.
- 1:20:51On the women's side,
- 1:20:52and I was so excited to see this,
- 1:20:53because after a devastating
- 1:20:55ankle injury following from pegboard,
- 1:20:57Amy Shepatin in her first
- 1:20:59time back on a competition
- 1:21:01floor since last Legends
- 1:21:03takes the win again.
- 1:21:05So it's cool to see that.
- 1:21:06I chatted with her a little
- 1:21:08bit over the weekend.
- 1:21:09it was cool to see her back
- 1:21:10out there doing so well
- 1:21:11sarah blunk took second and
- 1:21:13marie foist took third on
- 1:21:16the men's side jason grubb
- 1:21:18who cory leonard beat in
- 1:21:19one workout and he made me
- 1:21:21uh ryan redkey friend of
- 1:21:27the show great dude took
- 1:21:28second and joey hochman uh took third
- 1:21:34It sounds like Ryan was in
- 1:21:36first yesterday.
- 1:21:39He was in there for a lot of the weekend.
- 1:21:41Yeah.
- 1:21:43In Jamie's division,
- 1:21:44the forty to forty four year old division,
- 1:21:46Carrie Mayle.
- 1:21:48took first.
- 1:21:49Kayla Johnson, second.
- 1:21:51Stevalis Mendez took third.
- 1:21:53And on the men's side,
- 1:21:54CrossFit Games champion
- 1:21:55Chico Quesada took first.
- 1:21:58Austin Medford took second.
- 1:22:00And Matthew Axtman took third.
- 1:22:02And finally...
- 1:22:04the thirty five to thirty
- 1:22:05nine year old division on
- 1:22:06the women's side sammy
- 1:22:07scorzelli took first megan
- 1:22:09scales took second caitlyn
- 1:22:11teager took third and on
- 1:22:12the men's side mr scott
- 1:22:14pancheck and is way back
- 1:22:16into competitive sports
- 1:22:18took first brian smith took
- 1:22:19second and michael french
- 1:22:21took third scott and his
- 1:22:22wife kristin competed in
- 1:22:23the same competition I
- 1:22:24think that is for the first time ever
- 1:22:30she had some good events I
- 1:22:31don't know how she finished
- 1:22:32on the overall leaderboard
- 1:22:33but she had some top top
- 1:22:35ten finishes for sure and
- 1:22:39that is uh legends thank
- 1:22:43you holly do they test no no um
- 1:22:59lynn said it's my second
- 1:23:00time watching legends and I
- 1:23:02can now predict there will
- 1:23:03always be a wall ball
- 1:23:03chipper yeah I mean I feel
- 1:23:13like that's a safe workout
- 1:23:15to do corey said scott
- 1:23:19panchuk is a cartoon
- 1:23:20character level of fitness yeah
- 1:23:27so I do have one more like
- 1:23:29little bit of a statement I
- 1:23:30wanted to make about the
- 1:23:31masters and and all this so
- 1:23:35just for a moment I may
- 1:23:43have a riff coming we'll
- 1:23:45see how this comes out let
- 1:23:47me get comfortable here
- 1:23:47yeah I love the masters
- 1:23:52community I love everything
- 1:23:53about it I love the athletes to death
- 1:23:58this year we worked really
- 1:23:59hard to promote the Masters
- 1:24:02divisions as much as we
- 1:24:04possibly could last year
- 1:24:06after Legends we
- 1:24:07interviewed every champion
- 1:24:08of Legends on this show um
- 1:24:12and put those out for view
- 1:24:14we attended Legends we did
- 1:24:16reels the entire time we
- 1:24:17were there we didn't get
- 1:24:18paid we didn't get any
- 1:24:20compensation for anything
- 1:24:21we just did it out of the
- 1:24:22goodness of our heart
- 1:24:24We then went to the Legend
- 1:24:25of Masters CrossFit Games
- 1:24:27where we did an eleven part
- 1:24:29documentary behind the
- 1:24:31scenes of the Masters CrossFit Games,
- 1:24:34which was my pride and joy.
- 1:24:35I loved every minute of doing it.
- 1:24:38It was probably the most
- 1:24:39rewarding thing I've ever
- 1:24:40done in the CrossFit space.
- 1:24:44And then we have Legends Now
- 1:24:47that happened just recently.
- 1:24:50We put all this content out.
- 1:24:52and we hear the master say,
- 1:24:53nobody pays attention to us,
- 1:24:55nobody does anything, nobody puts it out,
- 1:24:59you realize I put all that
- 1:25:00content out and barely a
- 1:25:03handful of people shared
- 1:25:05any of the content.
- 1:25:11You can't just think that
- 1:25:12other people are going to go out there,
- 1:25:15do all this stuff,
- 1:25:16and it's just gonna
- 1:25:17magically grow your sport.
- 1:25:20You have to take part in it.
- 1:25:22You have to share the stuff
- 1:25:24that is out there promoting
- 1:25:25what it is that you want to grow.
- 1:25:30Legends did not share a single,
- 1:25:34single clip, reel,
- 1:25:36anything from the
- 1:25:37documentary that went out
- 1:25:39that we did at their
- 1:25:41competition to show how
- 1:25:43awesome these athletes were.
- 1:25:47Not a single reel, not a single post.
- 1:25:52athletes I I can name the
- 1:25:55handful of athletes that
- 1:25:56share the information and
- 1:25:59it's not the like you would
- 1:26:00think that the tenth place
- 1:26:03finisher or the twentieth
- 1:26:04place finish no it's will
- 1:26:05morad it's valvobrol
- 1:26:07they're the only people
- 1:26:08sharing this stuff the
- 1:26:13people that have been in
- 1:26:13the sport forever and know
- 1:26:14how it grew back in the day
- 1:26:17it doesn't just grow on its own
- 1:26:20It grows because you share it,
- 1:26:21then somebody else shares it,
- 1:26:23then somebody else shares it.
- 1:26:24Because we all have many
- 1:26:25communities that you are
- 1:26:27trying to get to.
- 1:26:28Community after community after community.
- 1:26:31And it doesn't happen unless
- 1:26:32you all share that information.
- 1:26:35Legends,
- 1:26:36you want to grow where spectators
- 1:26:37show up at your event?
- 1:26:39And so that you have money
- 1:26:40for prize money and you
- 1:26:41have money for a live stream?
- 1:26:43Share the freaking information,
- 1:26:45the content that's out
- 1:26:46there promoting your sport.
- 1:26:48promoting your event that you're doing,
- 1:26:50that people have put out there for free.
- 1:26:58The same thing happened at
- 1:26:59Masters Fitness Championship.
- 1:27:06The Masters athletes...
- 1:27:08What happens is everybody's like, well,
- 1:27:09they don't share because
- 1:27:10they don't know how to use social media.
- 1:27:11That's a crock.
- 1:27:13I go through these people's
- 1:27:14social media and they're
- 1:27:15sharing reel after reel of
- 1:27:17their workouts and the
- 1:27:18things they're doing.
- 1:27:19And then they get to star in
- 1:27:21a documentary and it doesn't get shared.
- 1:27:27It's ridiculous.
- 1:27:29Why is Jason Grubb the most
- 1:27:30popular person in the Masters division?
- 1:27:33Because he shares everything
- 1:27:34of other Masters.
- 1:27:36He puts out content
- 1:27:37constantly about himself.
- 1:27:39That's why he's the most
- 1:27:40popular athlete in the space.
- 1:27:47It is infuriating when you
- 1:27:49work as hard as you do and
- 1:27:51nobody has the time to just click share.
- 1:27:57I've done the hard work for you, legends.
- 1:28:01I put you as a collaborator
- 1:28:02on a lot of this stuff.
- 1:28:03All you have to do is hit accept.
- 1:28:08If you don't want it to show
- 1:28:09on your page in the regular part,
- 1:28:12then hit share and put it to your story.
- 1:28:16It's the only place people
- 1:28:17are going to know what it
- 1:28:18is you do and what these
- 1:28:19athletes are and how cool they are.
- 1:28:25Until then,
- 1:28:26you're just going to work out in private,
- 1:28:28in secret,
- 1:28:29because nobody's going to know
- 1:28:30what's going on.
- 1:28:35Yeah.
- 1:28:35Well,
- 1:28:36and I think it's... I'm guessing
- 1:28:38Legends didn't even, like,
- 1:28:39watch any of the... ...eleven-part series,
- 1:28:44which is unfortunate,
- 1:28:45because I think they need
- 1:28:46to see... They need to watch it.
- 1:28:49They need to figure out,
- 1:28:50and they need to work with
- 1:28:51you for access to figure
- 1:28:53out how to make this...
- 1:28:56better in the way that like
- 1:28:57whatever their vision for
- 1:28:59it is to like collaborate
- 1:29:00with you the fact that you
- 1:29:02couldn't get in the back
- 1:29:04was an issue and they need
- 1:29:05to see that they need to
- 1:29:06see well this could be
- 1:29:07better if we had a spot for
- 1:29:09scott or interviews or
- 1:29:11anything here um they need
- 1:29:14to they need to watch the
- 1:29:15whole series and then work
- 1:29:18with you can see it on day
- 1:29:19one when I had full access
- 1:29:21and I could walk right up
- 1:29:22to the athlete and talk and
- 1:29:24did you see one pissed off athlete
- 1:29:27No.
- 1:29:27No.
- 1:29:29I was respectful of everybody's space.
- 1:29:31I didn't interrupt a lift.
- 1:29:32I didn't, you know, interrupt a work.
- 1:29:34If they were stretching,
- 1:29:35I may have gone over and talked to them.
- 1:29:37Yeah.
- 1:29:40But then when you restricted my access,
- 1:29:41I had to yell at them from
- 1:29:42the side and hope they
- 1:29:44would come over to me.
- 1:29:47right and then there's times
- 1:29:48where like the audio is not
- 1:29:52as crisp as it could be
- 1:29:53because of situations like
- 1:29:55that so yeah I mean was it
- 1:29:59perfect no but like you
- 1:30:00were you had you had to do
- 1:30:03what you could do with what
- 1:30:04you had access to and so if
- 1:30:07they watch it and set up a
- 1:30:10game plan with you I mean
- 1:30:12we could get somewhere
- 1:30:12where this could be pretty
- 1:30:13freaking sweet um
- 1:30:16Well, and the crazy thing is,
- 1:30:18none of it was bashing them
- 1:30:20as an organization.
- 1:30:22No.
- 1:30:23This was a very candid,
- 1:30:24open conversation and nobody bashed you.
- 1:30:27That's what I was going to say.
- 1:30:28If they watch it,
- 1:30:29they would want to share it
- 1:30:30because it paints the event
- 1:30:31in a very good light.
- 1:30:33Almost everyone's very well run.
- 1:30:35Can't believe how smooth
- 1:30:36they're getting all these heats through.
- 1:30:38Yeah.
- 1:30:39it's all good.
- 1:30:40And that kind of stuff needs to be seen.
- 1:30:42So other people are like, wow,
- 1:30:43it sounds like a good event.
- 1:30:45I kind of want to go to that one.
- 1:30:46That's the stuff they need to share.
- 1:30:49Yeah.
- 1:30:50There was a,
- 1:30:51a small number of constructive criticisms,
- 1:30:54but usually followed by like, Hey,
- 1:30:56but I understand this is your one.
- 1:30:58Yeah.
- 1:31:02Yeah.
- 1:31:03So riff over, that's just it.
- 1:31:05I,
- 1:31:06it's frustrating when you work this hard.
- 1:31:10And the thing is,
- 1:31:11I love these athletes so
- 1:31:12much and I've developed
- 1:31:13relationships with so many
- 1:31:15of them and I want it to succeed.
- 1:31:17I don't want masters to go away.
- 1:31:19I want it to be.
- 1:31:20And that's what made me
- 1:31:23excited about the WFP,
- 1:31:24including age groups.
- 1:31:26Yeah.
- 1:31:27Right.
- 1:31:27Like they're actually saying,
- 1:31:30let's keep masters a part of this.
- 1:31:33If we're reading the tea leaves correctly.
- 1:31:35well yeah we need more
- 1:31:37information on that aspect
- 1:31:39of of it for sure because I
- 1:31:41think what has been
- 1:31:43released with the CrossFit
- 1:31:44game season is diminishing
- 1:31:46what the age groups are and
- 1:31:52getting closer to a sole
- 1:31:53focus of just the elite
- 1:31:55athletes which is
- 1:31:57surprising that they would
- 1:31:59be that direction with WFP
- 1:32:01including them than the other way around
- 1:32:05Did I miss something?
- 1:32:07Well,
- 1:32:07when you eliminate all the money from
- 1:32:09quarterfinals and all of that stuff,
- 1:32:12what are you going to use
- 1:32:13to fund a Masters Games and
- 1:32:15a Teens Games?
- 1:32:16And there's less.
- 1:32:20I don't know.
- 1:32:21I don't know because, I mean,
- 1:32:23that stuff is never shared.
- 1:32:24We don't know how much money
- 1:32:25was actually given to
- 1:32:26Legends or Pit to operate.
- 1:32:28What we do know is the prize
- 1:32:31purse did not change from
- 1:32:33twenty three to twenty four.
- 1:32:35And now it's probably going
- 1:32:37to change from twenty four
- 1:32:37to twenty five.
- 1:32:38That will be sad.
- 1:32:40And that's where I'm saying
- 1:32:41is the less of a focus,
- 1:32:43because the minute you drop
- 1:32:44the prize purse,
- 1:32:45the minute some people are
- 1:32:46going to say it's not worth
- 1:32:47it for me to do anymore.
- 1:32:49Yeah, it'll turn into the Legends Classic.
- 1:32:55Which.
- 1:32:57I mean,
- 1:32:57you can see on the leaderboard is not.
- 1:33:00It's just not all the athletes.
- 1:33:02Because they didn't pay last year.
- 1:33:03So who like some of your top
- 1:33:05athletes are not going to
- 1:33:06go back and spend their
- 1:33:07money to go to that event
- 1:33:09when they're not really getting anything.
- 1:33:11Like I'm looking at that for
- 1:33:12me next year and I'm like, oh,
- 1:33:14are you guys getting paid?
- 1:33:15No.
- 1:33:15All right.
- 1:33:15Check.
- 1:33:16Not going.
- 1:33:18Like.
- 1:33:19Right.
- 1:33:20I'm not going to go pay two
- 1:33:20thousand to go there.
- 1:33:22Hotel flight food.
- 1:33:24And there's no chance of me
- 1:33:25making any money back.
- 1:33:28And if the WFP has a age
- 1:33:31group division and they pay
- 1:33:32out the winners,
- 1:33:33I think that's a chunk
- 1:33:36they're going to take away.
- 1:33:39And we don't know any of that.
- 1:33:41Wouldn't it be freaking
- 1:33:42awesome if there was a
- 1:33:42Masters League with a pro card?
- 1:33:45Oh, that'd be freaking sweet.
- 1:33:48now we may we're probably
- 1:33:49way ahead of ourselves yeah
- 1:33:50that's not in the budget
- 1:33:52until this thing takes off
- 1:33:53but yeah that would be
- 1:33:54sweet right even if it's
- 1:33:55like three per age group
- 1:33:56that yeah rep you know and
- 1:33:59then you have seven
- 1:34:00challengers I don't know
- 1:34:02yeah that'd be sweet well
- 1:34:05we have gone over now
- 1:34:06because of my because of my rant my riff
- 1:34:11We're like,
- 1:34:11we're one of like probably the
- 1:34:13only podcast that really
- 1:34:15talks about masters all the time.
- 1:34:17So it's like people need
- 1:34:19also to like share, like,
- 1:34:22and subscribe to this one too.
- 1:34:23So more people can share and,
- 1:34:25and see the content of the
- 1:34:26masters as well.
- 1:34:30Yeah, I agree.
- 1:34:31I've been sitting on that
- 1:34:32for a couple months because
- 1:34:33it was really frustrating
- 1:34:35when I would tag all these people,
- 1:34:38all these entities and nobody shared it.
- 1:34:42You feel better?
- 1:34:42Got, got that off your chest.
- 1:34:44Feel a little bit better.
- 1:34:47Yeah.
- 1:34:47That was a good riff.
- 1:34:48That was a good riff.
- 1:34:50All right.
- 1:34:51Got to get back to doing a
- 1:34:52couple of those every now and then.
- 1:34:56And you two, you guys too,
- 1:34:57you've had some good ones in the past.
- 1:35:01We saw, we still have the buzzer.
- 1:35:02Just, you saw that, the, the effect.
- 1:35:06All right, guys.
- 1:35:07Thank you so much.
- 1:35:08Uh,
- 1:35:10Yeah.
- 1:35:11Corey, Corey shares a lot of stuff.
- 1:35:13Corey does this show a lot
- 1:35:16about the master stuff.
- 1:35:18Corey is our dude.
- 1:35:19He is a honorary member of this team.
- 1:35:25So yeah, we love Corey.
- 1:35:27Uh,
- 1:35:29and there's a handful of athletes that
- 1:35:31shared a lot of stuff and I,
- 1:35:32I love them for that.
- 1:35:34Um, and they know, they know who they are,
- 1:35:38but with that, um,
- 1:35:41make sure you like and
- 1:35:42subscribe to the channel.
- 1:35:43If you're, if you're a listener,
- 1:35:45make sure you leave a
- 1:35:46five-star review on iTunes or Spotify.
- 1:35:49Um, and leave a comment, leave a comment.
- 1:35:53That's how the algorithm grows.
- 1:35:54Um,
- 1:35:55if there's anything that we talked
- 1:35:56about that you have
- 1:35:57something you want to voice, um,
- 1:35:59Lynn is awesome at giving
- 1:36:00us feedback on what we talk
- 1:36:02about during the.
- 1:36:03Ninety minutes we do this show.
- 1:36:05Uh,
- 1:36:05and I love seeing what she says and we
- 1:36:07were getting more and more
- 1:36:08people doing that.
- 1:36:10plus in the coming weeks
- 1:36:12we're gonna have prizes
- 1:36:13we're gonna give away based
- 1:36:15on stuff in the comments so
- 1:36:16make sure you stay tuned
